Dacor Range Model HGPR36CR-NG Error Codes

CODE: F0
PROBLEM: Shorted Or Jammed Input Device This failure will appear if a shorted or jammed input device is defective. Possible causes include shorted wires or a defective membrane switch.

CODE: F1
PROBLEM: Alarm “System Watchdog Circuit” ERC Self-Diagnostic circuitry has detected a failure in the bake/broil system. Any portion of the ERC, relay board, touch pad, heating elements and related wiring may be at fault.
How to diagnose/repair potential cause:
Step 1: Disconnect membrane from ERC. If an F-1 alarm is not activated within 30 seconds, check membrane function test points with an OHM meter. (refer to page 20 of the Diagnostic Test Manual) If the membrane test switch fails, replace membrane. If membrane test is good, continue to step 2.
Step 2: At ERC check for 24 VDC between J2 pins 1 and 3 for upper/single ovens or J5 pins 7 and 10 for lower ovens (when lower oven is not in a cooking/clean mode) **Note: F-1 must be showing in the ERC/Clock Display. I you read 24 VDC at those test points, replace ERC

CODE: F2
PROBLEM: Alarm Heating Mode High Temperature Is activated when the ERC senses a runaway heat condition or when the temperature exceeds “runaway limits”. The ERC will beep until the cancel or another function is selected. If the alarm repeats the F2 alarm check the oven sensor and wiring after first checking for a stuck relay. If alarm goes away verify the oven will complete a clean cycle without any type of failure.

CODE: F3
PROBLEM: Alarm Shorted Oven Sensor Occurs when the ERC senses a short circuit in the oven temperature sensor for 16 temperature conversions in a row. F-3 will appear in the digits and a beeping will be heard. If the alarm does not go away after pressing the cancel key check the sensor and wiring. **Important Note: This test will only be performed while a cooking operation is being attempted. The F3 alarm will not be displayed in the time of day mode.

CODE: F4
PROBLEM: Alarm Open Oven Sensor “F4” will be displayed along with a beeping if the ERC determines an open oven temperature sensor circuit for 16 consecutive oven temperature conversions. **Important note: This test will only be performed while a cooking operation is being attempted. The F4 message will not be displayed in the time of day mode. **Important note: If the oven sensor is open the bake modes cannot be activated. The controls will be non-responsive. Look for this failure, as at first appearance you may suspect the ERC or selector instead of an open sensor. A strange number may also appear in this failure mode.

CODE: F5
PROBLEM: ERC self-diagnostic failure Replace ERC.

CODE: F6
PROBLEM: Alarm EEPROM Checksum Error The brain of this oven (so to speak) operates a series of software commands. These commands control the various features and functions of the oven. A numerical value has been assigned to each function or operation. The numerical values can be added up - this is the check sum operation. Every time the system is powered up and after each clean cycle the system performs a check sum and compares the value to the value programmed into the software. (stored in memory.) An EEPROM check sum error or F-6 alarm occurs when the values differ. Only the time of day and timer operation will operate. If you receive a F-6 alarm replace the ERC.

CODE: F7
PROBLEM: Alarm Door Lock Enabled Above Temperature “F7” will appear in the digits and a beeping will be heard if a failure in the clean lock/ phase circuitry is detected for 16 seconds in a row. Check the door lock switches and door adjustments.

CODE: F8
PROBLEM: Alarm Door Locking Switch Occurs when operating the door lock motor if the motor runs for two minutes without seeing the phase switch change positions. This failure will normally occur only when a clean mode is started. If it occurs check the door switches and wiring.

Talked into spending $4700 on a wall oven on the recommendation of an appliance retailer. My concern was even baking and reliability. Was told I would be very happy as Dacor was best on the market. Well long story short, it never cooked evenly and after 8 years quit working. Had to lug the heavy oven to the city to an approved service provider. They thought it was the relay board (told the brains of the oven). Service provider changed several things (sensors, board and whatever else). Nothing solved problem. Phoned me and said I was looking at minimum $2000 and up. He threw oven in garbage. We didn’t even send the gas money to bring the dud home.Thought it should last longer than 8 years. I phoned Dacor. They wanted to know exactly what the problem and diagnosis was so I told them to phone the Service Provider. Said they would but I had to email copy of receipt which I did. A couple of months gone by and never heard a thing and they are not responding to my emails. DO NOT RECOMMEND DACOR.

We used a new Dacor range vent only to have it go on and off. We called Dacor and they referred us to Desert Tech in La Quinta. The owner came out and said we needed a new unit for $775. We said just unplug it. He charged us $275 even though it took him less than 30 minutes. Stay away from Dacor AND Desert Tech!

We did a complete kitchen remodel 2 years ago. My husband talked me into purchasing american made over the Bosch products that I preferred. This has been a horrible experience. The dishwasher does not clean. I was told to prime the water and purchase the higher end platinum packs. That did not work, then it was add lemi shine. That has not worked. The water never completely drains, ugh old water. A service tech could not tell me where the rinse aid indicator light was and insisted mine did not come with one! Microwave does not heat in an adequate time. All listed times I have to double time if not more. I was told to put a Rubbermaid container over the food product to insulate the waves... ha! Oven does not regulate heat. when I go to increase the heat during stated recipe, the screen always say 50 even though I would have it at 375. I was told it always will revert back to 350, really. I had all Kenmore appliances prior to the Dacor and never had a problem... Do not buy, I wish I hadnt. We are filing this with BBB and headed to small claims court.. This should be fun. I hope Dacor sees this.

We purchased a Dacor built-in refrigerator in 2011. After just 5 years the warning beeper came on. We learned that the main control panel - built by Whirlpool - was defective. We then learned that Dacor did not have any replacement part for this model. Our only alternative was the purchase a new refrigerator. Amazing!! Dacor reluctantly gave us a partial credit for a new (KitchenAid) model. However at the end of the day we are out of pocket over $2000 because Dacor built and sold a defective refrigerator with no ability to fix the problem. Very unsatisfactory handling of this situation.

Updated on 09/08/2019: Received a long apology from Dacor regarding their complete inability to service our range stating they would make it right. After sending them all my contact info privately at their request, we have heard nothing. My husband drove to Houston to their showroom, met with Dacor rep out of California, still nothing. Note there are only a few suggested repair services on their website which none cover our area. Avoid Appliance Genius. They wanted $ 500 just to drive 50 minutes travel cost. So here we sit, broiler in main oven out, lighters do not work, and the control screen is blank. Yes, Dacor was great until something broke.Original Review: Our Dacor range was great until it started needing repair. First the broiler went out in the main oven. Then some of the lighters quit working. When we called for repair, every place we called said they would no longer service Dacor because they were unable to get parts. For over a year we have gone back and forth with Dacor state office. They finally sent a “tech” from a video repair store. Really. He charged us $170 to drive to us. Then said he couldn’t get the brass rings off the burners, sorry. Called Dacor again and they said if we found anyone to let them know!!! Yesterday, the the touch panel burned out. I’m done. Dacor does not stand behind their products. I have documented all conversations. Do not buy Dacor.

We remodeled, added a very upscale kitchen in 2003, and chose Dacor appliances, 36 inch dual fuel stove, 30 inch wall oven, microwave, and a 30 inch dishwasher, well over $25000 worth. NONE of the appliances has worked properly, but the dishwasher has taken the cake. I have lost count on how many times I was in contact with the customer service. The digital board went bad, the error msgs kept coming for years! The racks/baskets rusted after just a couple of years! After numerous encounters with anybody I could get a hold of they were finally replaced, but not the right racks because they do not fit, falls off the side every time I use this dishwasher. I cannot tell you how frustrating this has been! I was eventually told that I could not complain anymore because I was out of warranty and they would not respond anymore! I am stuck with this $3000+ dishwasher that I cannot afford to replace, because I would have to rebuild that area of counter cabs in the kitchen! The service has been horrible. This was the most costly mistake purchase I have ever made.

I purchase a home with a Dacor double oven. Unfortunately the oven begins transmitting multiple beeps and the touch panel will sometimes read off after beeping a while. I contacted the staff at Dacor requesting a service manual. They refused to send me a service manual and stated that only authorized technicians can service their equipment. Its obvious they used google or a local phone book and sent me contacts of appliance repair shops in my area. When I called, they had never heard of Dacor let alone be factory authorized. I called Appliance repair shops up to 50 miles away to find there were no Dacor Dealers. I found one 70 miles away but it was too far to send a technician. If I remove my oven from the wall and take it there they would attempt to look at it. I had to reverse engineer the thing to find that my touch panel has gone bad and now I cannot find a used one. I want to recommend that anyone considering an appliance DO NOT PURCHASE A DACOR! If you are looking for high end stick to SubZero / Wolf. Oddly enough I see that there hasnt been any reviews for the past 5 years. Maybe it appears people have stopped buying Dacor appliances.

Purchased a house with Dacor 2 Built in 30refrigerators that suppose to be under additional 1 year warranty after 2 year initial warranty expires, Both units were registered online and still showing being under warranty and the company refuse to take care of the issue. This is not how you treat customers and it tells that it does not matter if you buy $8000 refrigerator, you as a customer does not really matter. I am in the process of building another house right now and I was considering spending over $40,000 on Dacor appliances and that will definitely not happen since the company refuses to honor the warranty that is still active over broken door spring. What a shame!

Oh how I wish I never bought a Dacor! It has been nothing but problems. I figured I bought a lemon but after reading other reviews its just not a good product with not very good customer service either. I have had repairs every year, and even after repairs it still isnt functioning as it should. The first problem I had was the whole glass window blew out during baking, which seems to me is a huge liability. The company said that shouldnt happen but is out of warranty and would give me a discount on the glass. I thought that was better than nothing but then 6 months later the relay went out, then baking temps were all over the place in the oven so they said I needed a new motherboard and they said both ovens needed it. So those were repaired. Oh ya and the light in the bigger oven hasnt worked past the first year even after having the light changed and some electrical stuff done on it. Then I had the bulbs changed due to irregular oven temps. The temps are still all over the place to this day.The back right corner gets too dark. The front left doesnt brown and is a lower temp. Now Im having problems with the oven turning off during baking and when using broil in the small oven it causes the large ovens probe alarm to go on and offer at least for an hour. Dacor didnt help me with anything past the glass and its only been 7 months since the new motherboards were put in. I cant afford to buy a new oven at this time and so I only use the small oven mainly since the larger has so many problems. Do yourself a favor and never buy a Dacor!

We renovated our kitchen and as part of this had installed the new Dacor Modernist Fridge and Freezer columns at a VERY hefty price tag. We were going to get a subzero and changed our minds when we saw these products - the styling, design and function looked so much better than Sub-Zero, despite the higher price tag. Well, fast forward about 8 months and we dont have a functioning fridge. It stopped cooling out of nowhere. We had to throw everything away. After FINALLY getting a repair person to the house, they told me that it was because the fridge had run out of gas (freon or whatever the coolant is thats used). When asked how that happened they said they didnt know, but that they couldnt repair it as they needed a part from Dacor. A WEEK later, they finally got the part and came back to repair the fridge. 4-5 hours later it still was not repaired and they said they needed another part. Its been almost two weeks since then and the part has still not arrived. We had a BlueStar range installed when redoing the kitchen and when we had a problem with that, they overnighted the part, so that they could fix it right away. This is not the case here - the customer service has been absolutely horrendous and Ferguson Appliances (where I bought the fridge from) has been at their wits end with this (I cant say enough about how wonderful Ferguson has been to deal with). This has been a nightmare. Now the repair place wont even schedule a repair date because they dont want to lose the time again in case the part doesnt show up again... DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE. I should have known better not to buy a Samsung (yes, Samsung bought Dacor a few years ago and these products are glorified Samsung units).

I purchased entire kitchen of Dacor appliances - $30,000. The 48 refrigerator required 9 service calls to stop freeze up. Wall oven – the digital panel went bad. Stove top exhaust – the circuit is melting. The dishwasher had 17 service calls over 2 years - mid way they replaced the unit because they could not stop it from leaking and damaging our wood floors. The most recent service call was yesterday, 12/20/2011. After waiting since November, it is again not working. Does anyone else understand that spending $1700 on a dishwasher should allow you to use the dishwasher? I called the customer service and was told We are discussing the situation and will get back to you. Are you going to come wash dishes with me over Christmas when we have 25 guests? Were you there on Thanksgiving? If I hadnt been stupid enough to buy all Dacor appliances, I would throw it in the dumpster and buy a GE from Home Depot.

We purchased this high end Dacor range (Dacor Renaissance ER30G) new in 2011 from the Appliance Loft here in Cincinnati. It was dropped off and installed and would not operate right out of the box. A repair was made and everything worked (unless you count the indicator lights on the knobs, they all went out after approx 14 months). This past November the oven went dead. A1 appliance came out: Determined new control board needed, ordered and installed. Thanksgiving Day, oven dead. A1 comes back, reset the High Temp Fuse. Oven dead 4 days later, A1 returns with a new HTF. Dec 22, Oven dead. As soon as The holiday is over we will call another repair shop and start looking at replacing this unreliable piece of eye candy. Open comment to Dacors design engineers, quality control engineers and management. You should be totally ashamed about this product youve designed. You are supposed to represent the best in American design and quality and this falls below that of low end appliances out of China. See you in small claims court.

Dacor refuses to take responsibility for defects in their products. Our wall oven required two cooling fan motors and two relay boards over a relatively short period of time. In addition, all of the sensors had to be hard wired when the oven stopped working, and our service technician was informed by Dacor that moisture tended to get into the sensors on these ovens. We spent nearly $1500 on these repairs. Reaching a customer care representative at Dacor can take upwards of 20 minutes. Phone calls are not returned. Customers are left to pay the cost of defects in Dacor products.

I wish we had seen these reviews before we spent 6k on an oven and cooktop. Ordered cooktop and oven in November. Custom color over to match cabinets, still have not received oven (were at the 8 week maximum wait time already). Cooktop appeared fine when we received, but when we went to install, noticed something rattling inside. Looking through vent, noticed several broken interior pieces moving around. Contacted Dacor 3 weeks ago for a replacement or repair, and still nothing. They made us go through dealer, and last week told dealer we refused service. Ridiculous! Now they are telling dealer they cant find a servicer nearby. Am considering declining payment through credit card company for their lack of follow through and service, and let them come get their unit.

We purchased a home with a 5 year old Dacor Discovery IQ Double Wall Oven.
We purchased a home with a 5 year old Dacor Discovery IQ Double Wall Oven. Model Number DYO230S. Great looking and it has a very sophisticated and functionally rich digital control system. Problem is the digital control system does not work. The stove has a mind of its own and will just shut off for 24 to 48 hours and return to function randomly. Shutting the power off and turning it back on has no effect. Dacor (Now Samsung) has been completely un-helpful. Bottom line response - tough. Product is no longer produced, replacement parts no longer in stock - maybe there is a part on eBay ** Honest that is the answer. I have called parts companies who also complain about Dacor (now Samsung). No luck. So we will now need to purchase a replacement product for anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000 dollars. To replace a 5 year old - 8,000 product. It will definitely not be a Dacor or Samsung product. And I will do my best to put similar reviews on the internet where ever I can.Just to add some balance - 21 years ago we custom built a home and purchased two Dacor ovens. Both were great. 21 years of flawless operation. When we saw this oven as we went through the home purchase process we were delighted. What a disappointment. Also - before the oven started to go wacky on us we needed to replace the bulbs (2) in the oven light fixture. Initially I contacted Dacor parts and had a very pleasant experience ordering the two replacements. However nothing came to our home. Called again and found that Dacor had been sold to Samsung and the price of the bulbs had doubled or more. No exaggeration. Stay away from Dacor and Samsung.

We have 3 Dacor appliances that we purchased new when we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago. Our cooktop’s igniter continually clicks even when it is not in the light position. This only happens on the front 2 burners (the back 3 are fine). We have cleaned the unit and cleaned the igniters over and over. We have had 2 authorized Dacor service companies and another company look at our unit. Two said no fix exists; the other replaced a part after talking to Dacor and that did not fix it. When I called Dacor, they noted to get another service company and call them when they are here. I am concerned that this again will not work and I will have to pay another service fee. When they were here I asked them to replace a light in our double oven, but they noted they would have to remove the oven from the wall to do that and it would be costly, to which I said no thanks. Is it true that the oven has to be removed to replace a light? Another issue is that our double wall oven’s upper unit only gets warm to about 200 degrees. Another issue is that the microwave door open button does not move the door, we have to push it and pull the door open by hand. I have turned to Dacor service and to our local service techs and we are at our wits’ end. Any help here?

This is a follow-up to my initial complaint, which was posted on November 28, 2011, and an updated posting on December 27, concerning problems with our Dacor range. What we learned was that the local appliance shop that services Dacor quit working on Dacor appliances, so we were left with no repair company. We were contacted by the customer service representative from Dacor, who has been very diligent in working with us to find a solution.Yesterday, the Dacor regional service supervisor from Washington came to Casper to work on our oven, which is now totally functional. Pretty amazing customer service! He did share with us Dacors challenges in getting qualified local service companies, especially in smaller towns. I applaud Dacor for going the extra mile (1,000+ miles, to be more accurate) for us.

We purchased the modernist collections 48” range, refrigerator and freezer, oven and microwave combo and dishwasher with a kitchen remodel 9 months ago. We had one issue with the dishwasher which was resolved, then another when is stopped mid-cycle. Repairman came out and was told we needed a new panel. Found out it was back-ordered. Well, it’s now been FOUR month without a dishwasher. We have contacted customer service and asked for other options and were told there was nothing they could do! When following up we have left messages and had our calls not returned, as has our service company. I have waited on the phone 3 times 30 minutes to talk to someone, because they won’t call back. We’ve asked to talk to a supervisor, and was told our information would be forwarded... 2 days later, no call. This is by far the WORST service I have ever had for ANY type of product.

If anyone else has this experience with Dacor ovens, we need to have a class action suit against Dacor! While baking Christmas cookies this week with my grandchildren, my ovens stopped working and started beeping. The error code was F3. I was able to get a technician rather quickly who diagnosed the problem as a failure of the control board which affected both ovens. The replacement part was discontinued from production in 2011. My ovens are 12 years old and cost over $4,000 at the time. What a pickle I was in a week before family coming for Christmas dinner! The technician said my only recourse was to send the control board to a refurbisher and he did not know when the board would be fixed - all for a whopping costs of over $600.00! I find it unacceptable that Dacor discontinues a control board and forces the consumer to either buy new ovens or pay the cost of a refurbished part that I hope will work. After spending thousands of dollars, how does this happen? What can be done so the consumers who purchase appliances with good intentions are protected from manufacturers that dont stand behind their products? DACOR I NEED ANSWERS!!

We bought our new Dacor CPS 130S wall oven when we built a new house in 04.
We bought our new Dacor CPS 130S wall oven when we built a new house in 04. First we had to replace the lower heating element. Now the touchpad (Dacor part # 13290S) is malfunctioning. The + button will not respond to touch. Called Dacor and was told that the needed part number was discontinued in 2009. I double-checked with a distribution center in San Antonio, TX, who confirmed that the part is no longer available. They referred me back to Dacor on the chance that Dacor would have one somewhere. Dacors suggested solution was that we need to buy an updated completely new oven, which would cost us several more thousand dollars. So here we sit with a perfectly good oven minus a touchpad to control it correctly. So much for buying reliable, U.S. made products and receiving good service. I thought there existed a federal law that mandates a company must make parts available for 10 years if they discontinue the product?

We purchased this oven/cooktop was installed in February 2020. I have been unhappy with the performance of the smaller oven from the beginning. It takes 20 minutes to pre-heat, a loud fan starts to run partway during the pre-heating process and then warm air starts to flow out the bottom. Plus, it is not either holding the correct temperature or not reaching it completely, nothing I cook in there is done in a appropriate amount of time. Baking a small potato takes an hour and a half at 375, brownies take almost twice the approximate baking time. My attempts to contact them have been less than satisfactory. I wrote for a second time over two weeks ago providing a copy of the invoice and have still heard nothing. I am quite disappointed with this product & company.

Follow-up to March 31 posting: In 2001, we installed two Dacor wall ovens and a gas (converted to propane) cook top. The cook top has been problem free and the brushed stainless steel surface still looks like new. Both ovens however, at that time, were problematic during the two year-warranty period. Knowledgeable service people were hard to come by in our region. After numerous service calls, Dacor replaced one of my wall ovens at or around the three-year mark (outside of the warranty period). That particular unit had only one minor issue since then and Dacor replaced the appropriate part free of charge. The other original unit has been problematic since the beginning. The latest problem being the internal light going on/off for no reason and then a lack of response to light button on the front control panel.Long story short, I posted my frustration here on March 31 and was contacted by a Dacor rep within two days. He asked me for detailed info on the problem and located the unit in their files. Some of the past repairs were known to Dacor, but others were not since we just did them ourselves. I was asked to send a detailed description of the current issue along with pictures, which I did. Based on Dacors analysis or the pictures and the exhibited problem, they sent me, free of charge, a control panel membrane, a door gasket and a set of door hinges. We installed these items and the unit is now in full working order. In looking back over the past years of problems with this particular unit, its clear to me the issues all stemmed from an original broken door hinge. It was compounded by the fact that the service and repair folks at the time considered the door gap to be within tolerance and we did not discover the broken hinge until the door glass shattered and we needed to replace it, which required removing the door. Anyway, at this stage in the game, I am very pleased with Dacors response. It is my impression that they are trying much, much harder to stand behind their products. So, while just a short time ago I would have never considered another Dacor product, when the time comes, they would still be on my list of considered vendors because when these ovens work, they work great.

As I have read in most of the reviews, we have also experienced the control panel on our 30 inch dual range cracking over the years. We were told not to replace it because it would continue to happen. Ok, lived with that... Now something new has started to happen, the plastic handle on the oven door and surrounding area has started to melt. It got so bad after a self clean that it is collapsing. Now there isn’t much of a seal at all when the door closes. The stove isn’t brand new, but this has to be a fire hazard, and consequently, now the oven will not even turn on. I’ve reached out to Dacor with no response yet. I’m done with this company!

I moved into a house that already had a Dacor unit in place. Within months, I discovered that I owned an oven that could be fixed by throwing the circuit breaker. Then, I learned about invisible hands that turned the 325 degree convection oven to a 500 degree broiler. The final act was having all three glass panes shatter and the control panel cracking as punishment for assuming that the oven cleaner on an expensive gourmet stove would function according to manufacturing standards. The repairman ordered replacement parts. He spoke with someone who was off shore so forget about Dacor being all American made. The wrong parts were sent. He has reordered. Meanwhile, I have been without an oven for two months. If this goes on, I am going to Home Depot and buying a Hotpoint or GE. It is the same price as replacement glass panels and the control panel.

In August of 2005, I purchased a Dacor pro range. In December 2005, the control panel began to blink and lose display. Dacor gave me names of 2 authorized repair people. After several visits by a repairman, I phoned Dacor and was told to call a repairman. They obviously didnt listen to me! The repairman spoke with Dacor representative who responded that the display needed to be ‘rebooted just like a computer.’ Several times a month, I must go to the electric control panel in my basement to turn the breaker switch off and on in an effort to ‘reboot’. In September 2010, the display panel went dark and could not be ‘rebooted’. I had to replace to control the membrane at a cost of $530.69 plus $169 for labor and a service call. On Thanksgiving 2010, the ‘new’ display panel which was obviously defective, stopped working. Once again, a new membrane had to be ordered and installed incurring another service and labor charge! I sent a letter to Dacor wanting reimbursement of labor/service on original defective membrane and was advised that they warranty their products, not the service! It is now November 16, 2011 and I still must continuously ‘reboot’ the control panel! However, I spoke to an authorized Dacor repairman who told me that Dacor has had many complaints such as mine and now have a devise which attaches to the power cord and filters out the ‘noise’ from other household items which disrupts the control panel on my oven! Is there a reason why Dacor is keeping this a secret? Do they not want to make their consumers happy? I cant wait to be rid off this appliance and all association with the Dacor company!

I asked him why, and are you ready for this? He said we cant talk to customer service for our own security.. No kidding. The idiot went on to try and tell me it was for my protection! After arguing further, I asked him to again connect me with a technician. He puts me on hold and comes back and says The technician said to call a service provider - unbelievable. I will NEVER buy a DACOR product again! What morons think they can sustain a business with this approach to service!

Our refrigerator is 5 years old and has had a problem with icing up in the freezer area, resulting in a loud noise from the freezer fan. We originally called Dacor for service but they could not get to it for 2 weeks. An appliance repairman installed a new heater for the defroster. This only worked a short time and happened twice with a cost of over $1000. A couple of months ago, it happened again, and we were able to get a hold of ** at Dacor customer service. She knew exactly what was causing the problem. She ordered the parts and directed a factory-approved repairman to install over $800 in parts and we are confident the issue is resolved. Thank you, Dacor, for standing behind your products.

We bought our house in 2010 and our Dacor stove was supposedly newer. When I went to clean it, I found loose screws in the bottom. Apparently, the convection element is loosing its screws and washers. Ive had this appliance fixed once already when the cooktop kept clicking. The black plastic around the controls cracked mysteriously. It takes 3 hours longer to cook a turkey than it should. This is a strange stove, which supposedly cost a lot. I wonder if a convection part missing two screws should be used?

We purchased this oven February 2009. On 6/7/11, we had to replace the touch pad assembly. On 12/16/13, we again had to replace the touch pad assembly with a cost of repair to this point of over $900.00. The over cost $2,395.00 when purchased. On 3/16/14, while on convection/bake the oven switched over to broil. On 3/20/14, a repairman came to the house. The condition did not replicate but the repairman, in conversation with Dacor, determined that the fix, if this should happen again, would require the replacement of the relay board and ERC control at a cost of $700.00. On 3/27/14, while on convection/bake, the oven switched over to broil. I called Dacor and was forced to leave a message.

I purchased a Dacor Double Oven 5 years ago. It is a beautiful design, but unfortunately a piece of junk. Over the 5 years I have had the oven, I have had service technicians repair the oven on 7 different occasions. Unfortunately, my oven is not out of warranty and has failed once again. Today was my 8th attempt at service and the service technician could not get the oven working. I have called Dacor, pleading with them to stand behind their product and to replace this useless piece of equipment. I continue to get L22 error codes, and the main circuit board had been replaced twice. After persistently calling Dacor’s customer service, they finally said they would sell me a new oven at a discounted price to the tune of $4800 plus tax, shipping and installation. I ask myself, why would I want to buy another piece of junk? If Dacor wont stand behind their products, perhaps someone should initiate a class action suit against them.

We remodeled our kitchen and decided to use the range as the focal point of the room. The decision to go with a Dacor ER36DSCH dual fuel range over comparable Wolf and Viking models as well as a Dacor heating drawer was made, a decision I have regretted since. Our unit keeps blowing the baking element ($200) which routinely fails at the most inopportune times. To date I have replaced four and the Mrs. recently informed me that the oven is once again not heating properly. Thankfully, I am competent enough to diagnosis and repair it myself and did a thorough operational inspection and cleaning which revealed the broil element ($180) had also gone bad this time. My wife hates this oven and unfortunately it sits right smack in the middle of our beautiful kitchen to remind us of the bad decision we made. In fact, we are now at the point where we are considering replacing it and sending it to a scrap yard where it belongs. Avoid this brand or it will cost you.

This week Dacor installed my 2nd replacement gas range. I remodeled my kitchen 3 years ago and chose Dacor because I had a great experience with their appliances in the past, had their oven and stove in my kitchen for 15+ years and never had a problem. With the first new range, the oven started to automatically shut off due to excess heat escape, so the safety feature would kick in and shut the system down, in addition the knobs would become very hot even when the over was used briefly, 12-15 minutes. I was very impressed and happy with the customer service through Dacor, they immediately gave me a brand new over. Exactly another year, the new oven had the same problem, door begins to not hinge properly and heat begins escape, knobs get dangerously hot. This week Dacor very kindly, replaced my appliance with the new Dacor Renaissance 36. I used the oven for 12 minutes on 400 and the entire exterior is dangerously hot. I do not have any children, however, if I did I would be terrified that they could seriously injure themselves. The exterior of an oven should not become hot like this. Has anyone else had this issue with Dacor? I feel they have been very responsive with regards to customer service however I want an appliance that is safe.

Dacor appliances were installed in a new home I purchased. The refrigerator has been out of service every single year since purchasing the home. So far, two thermistors, one power supply board, one drip pan heater and one ice maker. Every time the unit fails, I have to wait several days for the authorized service provider to come to the house. That will then result in the need to secure a part that will require anywhere from three days to three weeks before the unit can be placed back into service. As you might guess, perishables dont last that long, so every event results in the loss of hundreds of dollars of food. After yet another extended outage experience, I called Dacor to find out what they might propose to make sure my refrigerator actually performs in a reliable manner (apparently I didnt get the fridge with that feature). The short version of the story is that they not only failed to ever apologize for the fact that their product doesnt work, they insisted I produce detailed documentation covering the last four years of service before they would consider taking any action. Shame on me for not keeping all the invoices from the two service companies. After numerous exchanges, an offer to pay for the part associated with the last repair, not the labor, was the best they could do. Apparently, $250 is too much for Dacor to invest in a customer who has paid several thousand dollars in repair bills and lost hundreds of dollars of food for a unit that is four years old. This is a company who obviously cannot design a product that works consistently and cant provide after sales support in an effective manner.

I purchased a Dacor Renaissance range for our new home. What a waste of money. Though I have not had any major problems with the performance of the range yet, besides uneven baking, the design is not user-friendly. To begin with, the gas burners share a grate. So when cleaning, you have to remove the whole grate on one side. The controls for the burners & griddle are very hard to see & I have to bend over to see which burner Im turning on. The oven racks are a joke. The two glide racks are very bulky with sharp edges. It is difficult to change the heights or to remove them for cleaning purposes. Though there are three racks included, it is impossible to bake with all three in the oven.I have a GE Monogram that I had purchased two years ago for another home, and I love it The Renaissance & Monogram are similar in price, but I unfortunately, listened to the sales person & let them talk me into the Renaissance. I realized my mistake in buying a Dacor immediately & contacted the appliance store. Even though the Renaissance had not been used, they would only give me a token amount of money towards trading it in for a Monogram. So, I am stuck with a range that causes me to swear under my breath every time I use it. Dacor could learn a lot from GE.

We purchased our home brand new in August 2006. The house was built and the appliances installed (but never used) in 2003. One of the things that sold us on the house was the kitchen being comprised of all high-end Dacor appliances (double convection oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and built-in microwave). Our excitement quickly turned to frustration. The first problems began with the dishwasher, which after several attempts at repair (circuit board) was begrudgingly replaced by Dacor, with “begrudgingly” being the key word. I have always found Dacor customer service to be rude and dismissive - with the only way that I ever received a satisfactory outcome, being via threats of contacting the BBB and Missouri Attorney General.About a year after receiving the replacement dishwasher, the internal racks began rusting badly. Once again, I called customer service who originally wanted to sell me new racks at a discount. Only after another persistent round of explaining that high-end dishwasher racks should be made from a material that doesnt rust, complaining and threatening, did I receive new racks free of charge. I was also informed that they had changed rack manufacturers and that would eliminate the rusting problem. Wrong. It has now been another couple of years, and the new racks are rusted worse than the previous ones. That is just the dishwasher. Our Dacor microwave display began slowly losing its LED display about 2 years ago. Lately, the microwave interior lining is beginning to disintegrate and rust through. One of the burners on our gas cooktop makes a constant popping noise when lit. The top half of our double convection oven no longer heats beyond 250 degrees. I realize that our appliances are now significantly beyond their warranty period, so I am no longer even attempting a resolution through Dacor. I will most likely ride these appliances into their graves and replace them with another brand. I am writing this mainly to alert others about my experiences with what I believe to be Dacors total lack of quality at a premium price. In my opinion, Dacor is all style and no substance.

I recently upgraded my kitchen and had always heard that Dacor has been a reliable high end brand for kitchen appliances. Their refrigerators have a lot of space, and everything can be easily organized. All the appliances work as intended, and they also all look great. Dacor ERD30S06CHLP 30 Inch Epicure Series Freestanding Dual-Fuel - I am so dissatisfied with this product. We bought the first range in 2003 and were so excited to use it. We chose Dacor over Wolf. From the beginning we had issues with the oven. It cooked very unevenly and the door never closed properly. We had a service call and they basically told us that we got a lemon. They offered us a new range for $3.5K. We thought we got a lemon so we agreed and paid for a new one for $3.5k. We also purchased the extended warranty for $2.2K.0 This one was even worse. One time I opened the oven and it burned my eyelashes. I wrote and complained with a video of the explosion and had to pay for the service call. I wrote a review in the website and they deleted it. We now own a range that we have paid over $10K that bakes unevenly, electric element does not work in oven and have minor explosions from time to time with a door that does not close. We have a few friends who have asked us about our range and we always recommend against it. We are looking for a new range. I would not recommend this range. I thought we got a lemon. But it seems thats just the product.

For a refrigerator less than a year and costing that much, I thought it should fall under its warranty. Another issue is the ice maker. It wont dispense ice and I have to always pull the ice bin and put it back in. The Dacor customer service said that its because air gets into the ice bin when I dispense ice and thats the solution. We were having issues with our microwave not working consistently, after several service visits, not under warranty, we now are told it will cost over $600 for the part. We are now looking for another brand of microwave instead of fixing the Dacor. On a side note the rings for our Dacor gas cooktop never come clean no matter how hard you try. The material used are definitely inferior. We have another property with all KitchenAid and have been happy with the performance. Got a great online deal on Dacor LP gas range. Was new but had dinged side panel according to store. Couldnt see the ding in photos and it would be hidden against cabinets anyway. Range is finally delivered and is new as advertised. Works great for a few days but then the oven wont hold temperature and then wont light. This is when the nightmare begins. Samsung now owns Dacor and getting to the right people to make a warranty claim is insanely difficult. After making the repair claim we get notified that there is no warranty coverage for service as this was not a new unit. Pardon me but we have the sales receipt showing that it is with full factory warranty. They finally agree to accommodate us and then repeatedly cancel repair tickets. After many calls to fix this, they now tell us that no service center will come to repair the range! They offered a refund minus some sort of discount based on a stove being used for a period of time. Oven stopped working a week into having it and they want to DISCOUNT a refund! Made BBB complaint and their response was they would have someone reach out to the customer. Today they did that and we are still at no resolution. Told them they have 3 options, fix the range, replace the range or refund us completely and I will make arrangements to fix the oven. They say there are no ranges in inventory to replace this one with with. No one inside the US will call or reach out to fix this fiasco and we are left with someone that is not allowed to make decisions that speaks english as a second language. Sad thing is that its a basic range that at first seemed to be a great design and would be great to have in our kitchen. Its now endless headaches because Dacor refuses to step up and remedy a defective oven part with a service call from someone that would require likely higher pay than their network providers.

We purchased this range after remodeling our kitchen. We opted for the Dacor because of the deep oven that the other high end ovens did not have. I am an avid baker so this was a plus. After a year and half the oven stopped working, it was not getting hot. Thankfully is was still under warranty and it was repaired. The technician determined it was the oven control thermostat that was not working. Fast forward two years and again the same problem, along with the right front burner now also not working. And wouldnt you know it, the warranty is expired. Another technician came out again and stated to fixed the two problems it would be approx $250.00 just for labor and not including parts. CRAZY INSANE!!! If we would have known all the problems and we would have purchased either a Wolf, a Thermador or even a Monogram. How can so many issues and problems be happening with an range that is only 4 years old? Especially one that costs over $6000. It has to be a lemon or poorly manufactured. Ive contacted Dacor and was told they need to review my file to make a determination on what they want to do. REALLY, you dont need to be a rocket scientist to know there is a problem. A third visit was required as the oven codes shut down the unit. The last two service calls have been with the cooling fan. Now that the fan was replaced, the relay board needs replacement, too. When I pay top-dollars for a supposedly high-end product, I would expect performance and durability. That is not the case with Dacor. This manufacturer charges top-dollars for their appliances but their products do not live up to expectations. I purchased a Dacor gas cooktop range, and within a year several blue-indicator lights on the knobs (which indicate the gas is on) failed. At that time it was covered under warranty, and even then it was a hassle to get the repair technician to come out and take the range out to get to the electronic parts. After replacing two of the lights, the other lights failed as well, and then the replaced lights eventually went out. Now, only one out of the five lights work. After a year, the appliance is no longer under warranty, and it is too expensive to get it serviced. Its not only a cosmetic issue, but a safety one as well. Were in the market for a single wall-oven, and I considered a Dacor for its clean and stylish design. However, after reading the reviews about Dacor, Im veering away from this company. I built my home in 2003 and installed a Dacor 30 wall oven. After several years of poor performance, we started to get an error message. Dacor suggested replacing a board for $300. That didnt work so they had me replace another $300 board. That didnt work so they told me I needed a new front panel and it would run about $1,000. That board is on back order and they dont have a replacement date. Thinking that its bad business to sink $1600 into a troubled product that has terrible reviews on the internet. We found out that once you go with Dacor, you need to stay with Dacor due to an unusual, nonstandard size.Thinking that Dacor has improved their product we ordered a brand new $3,000 Dacor RO130 30 wall oven. It arrived promptly and I removed the defective $3,000 oven and put in the brand new $3,000 Dacor RO130 oven. What I got was a dead brick. The Dacor customer service has been awful, and will not allow me to talk to anyone in their technical side. The oven is getting power. Dacor customer service wouldnt help me unless I could prove that the unit was getting power. So I had to get an electrician in to prove that I had properly wired the 4 cords that came off the original defective Dacor wall oven. Get service help? No chance. I live 100 miles from Seattle and no one wants to work on Dacor. So here I sit with a $3,000 brick. No service and Dacor has no clue on how they will service this wonderful $3,000 RO130 30 wall oven that is an out of box failure. I dont see how a company that has this bad of a product, two generations of defective ovens, bad customer service, reluctance from the repair community to work on their products will be in business much longer. If you are considering Dacor appliances, consider the problems that I am having. The nonstandard size of their ovens will lock you into future purchases to replace their products that dont last 10 years.

Purchased Dacor Renaissance wall oven in July 2015, Model RNO130S. After less than a year and a half, the cooking temperature began to fail. For instance, set to bake at 425 degrees, the oven would appear to heat properly, but tried and true recipes would be pasty and uncooked at the expected time. I inserted an oven thermometer inside to test and found an erratic pattern of oven heating up properly to 425 but then sometimes dropping back to about 350 during cook time and refusing to ever reach 425 again. ABT repairman adjusted temperature calibration but refused to troubleshoot any further. Just ruined another dinner. Thanks Dacor and ABT for your unreliable product and poor service.

Don’t purchase Dacor appliance - it’s been worst purchase experience ever and I am extremely disappointed. After six months since I purchased the Dacor built-in refrigerator, Dacor couldn’t even ship the proper installation parts and my refrigerator is still not working. Problems:1. Their high end $11K Dacor built-in refrigerator cannot even be installed. Wasted five months communicating with both Dacor and the retailer AppliancesConnection. After five months they were still able to ship the proper missing installation parts. Over the past five months, I talked to six different team members in Dacor customer support team, escalated to customer support lead and also talked to their regional technical manager, none of them is able to solve my problem and ship the right installation parts.a) Their process is extremely messy. Their customer support team had no idea about installation requirement of the refrigerator. And the request from their customer support team is declined by their internal Parts department again and again, only to find out installation parts should’ve shipped by the retailer. This is extremely confusing now and no one in the team seems to understand the right process.b) After Dacor acquired by Samsung, their manufacturing process is very messy and parts are extremely confusing. There’s one version of required installation parts in Dacor manual and one version of Samsung parts in the Parts guide, and no one in the team seems to understand the difference and how to map from one to another (they insist on sending me Samsung parts instead, claiming they’re compatible). I am now the expert myself to understand all their parts and able to identify many problems in their manual.2. As a high end brand, Dacor doesn’t seem to care about their customer at all. As a customer who did kitchen remodeling and had no refrigerator to use for five months, no one in the team seems to care about their brand or their customers. With this huge gap in the process, no one thinks about the problem from their customer’s perspective or shared empathy with me. Dacor as a brand is really bad and I am extremely disappointed in both their product and services.

In 2013 we remodel our kitchen. I need a 30" stove and Dacor seem the right fit. I had problem with the igniter burning on that stove and some metal warp as well. They replaced the stove in 2015. I smell gas every time I turn oven on. Last Thanksgiving 2019 the stove stop working. I was told the igniter had burned out and had it replaced. I had repairman come twice because of smell and end January 2020 the stove stop working again. The repairman told me that a jet burner assembly was never installed this is why I smell gas after it is turn on. ** They said they will order the part. It's back order So I contact Dacor. First they told me it's back order then give me a supplier. If it was never installed in the unit shouldn't Dacor take care of it and soon.

In 2001, I bought a Dacor dual range stove. I paid over $2000. My problem is that there is a defect in the product; when you use the self-cleaning, the outside of the stove cracks up. Dacor has replaced this three times and each time it cracks again. I spoke with them about a year ago and because I didnt continue the warranty, they wouldnt replace it. I carry a home warranty. My stove looks like it came from the junkyard. I understand them not repairing a physical problem with the stove but the outside is crumbling because of a defect in their product. If you dont clean the oven, then you get an error and the only way to get it off is to clean but all that dose causes the outside to crack up more. It pains me to think of buying a new range when I thought I had done my homework, when I choose Dacor. I hope this isnt too late, but it pains me to think after another cleaning I may be forced to buy another stove.

After purchasing what I thought would be ovens of a lifetime I could not be more disappointed, frustrated and angry at a company in my buying history! Since November of 2014 and longer I have been fighting for service or answers or at least honesty! The ovens have never worked properly, they do not keep temperature. The oven temperature drops 60 to 75 degrees while cooking over a couple hours. The control board was replaced. Still the ovens never worked. If you like to cook and cook for the bed and breakfast, which is why you bought an oven like this, you will have your ovens on for a couples hours preparing any multi-dish meal! I was treated rudely on the phone during routine troubleshooting and was never allowed to speak to a manager. Dacor for months or so later is buying back my ovens minus a restocking fee, on ovens that dont work, $1200!

We bought a whole new kitchen's worth of Dacor appliances - the Modernist line. It's too soon to review their performance, but so far they work well and look fabulous. Most importantly, I had an issue registering my appliances for warranty. I sent an email and not only did they resolve all my issues, registered everything for me, they also notified me I was eligible for an extended free warranty program, and they set it all up for me without any effort on my part. I wouldn't have even known if they hadn't done it for me. So far, I'd say that they have stellar customer service. When researching online before making the choice to go with Dacor, I had trouble finding information and reviews. Purchased a Dacor freezer. Freezer does not come with outer panel. Understandably, because you can choose to put your own custom panel on or order one from Dacor. Found out Dacor was bought by Samsung, a few years ago. So I decided to order a Stainless steel door from Dacor. One of Dacors reps suggested I order from J@J international. I placed order and two days later they called back saying they cannot ship door to me UPS nor FedEx will ship it. They refunded my money, so I reordered from someone else. Got ss panel toe kick and handle. Opened box only to find out no hardware, brackets ss trim for sides screws and so forth. I assumed mounting hardware would be with door. So began the part search for parts. Come to find out Samsung changed Dacors part #s. Vendors who sell the parts could not come up with parts or told me not available. Reliable parts agent told me this. I was told they should have come with freezer. Meanwhile called back Dacor to someone who specializes in dealing with these issues. She took over 45 minutes of my time giving me the impression she was gonna resolve the issue. She finally said we have the parts and inferred that I must have not talked to reliable parts. I assured her I did. She continued to refute what I told her. I have been right at two months trying to get freezer door installed. I called an Appliance dealer in Salisbury Md. to get assistance. He told me when Samsung bought Dacor he dropped line. I now see why. It has been the worst experience I have had with a company that has absolutely done nothing but appear to be concerned and say they are sorry but do nothing. It looks like it will be another 750.00 to get a couple little trims and brackets and a few screws. If I had it to do over I would never have gone down this road. This has been a two month old nightmare that is still going on. Best advice I can give is steer clear of Dacor/Samsung. Was going to buy matching column refrigerator. Not now.

We bought this oven and had it installed a month ago. Id love to love it, but unfortunately I dont even like it. Immediately after installation I noticed the touchpad for the bottom oven didnt work. I called Dacor and spent quite a bit of time while someone did the standard is the power on run through. I was told someone would have to call me back in the morning, at 9 am. The next day at 10 am having not heard a word, I called back. I was given the option to be called back (you wont lose your place, and our first rep...) Great! Nope. Four hours later still nothing. I called back again. Someone answered quickly and after a short call arranged for a service person to come out in a few days.Fast forward a few days and the serviceman arrives. Hes clearly never seen this kind of oven. He calls Dacor and talks to their troubleshooting department. They decide the motherboard is bad and reorder. Well, its been 10 days. *crickets*. There is no sense of urgency... In fact nobody even seems to care that my $7500.00 oven doesnt work and the microwave literally cant even pop popcorn. I would expect the company to rush delivery of the part. If need be replace the whole oven and figure out what is wrong with the motherboard on your own time. What I didnt expect is for literally everyone involved in the process of choosing and buying the appliance to not be able to find a solution. I give my new oven 1 star out of 10, because it looks nice. Id rather have an oven that doesnt have a smart feature and actually works. FAIL Dacor.

When we recently remodeled our kitchen, we replaced our Dacor double ovens
When we recently remodeled our kitchen, we replaced our Dacor double ovens that we had had for 15 years. These were great ovens and not one problem with fairly heavy use, so we bought the Dacor Modernist double ovens. The ovens are usable, but they are the worst engineered product I have ever experienced. First, there is no clock on the stove because as I was told the clock would etch the screen if it was on 24 hours a day. Second, the sound the timer makes is so soft, even on the loudest setting, cannot be heard in any room but the kitchen, so I paid a premium price to carry a timer with me, so I know when my oven is done baking. Third, if I turn the oven light on, the timer either stops completely, or it resets to the original time. Fourth, the oven buzzes when it is cooking. Fifth the user manual is useless and there is no video or online information on how to use this oven that is not user friendly. Finally, I have talked to Dacor and have had the repair person here, but he knew nothing about this oven. I am sorry every time that I use this oven that I did not buy my other choice, which was the Woof double ovens, but we thought this would be wonderful product, like the wonderful product that our previous ovens were. We also thought Dacor was a family company, but is now owned by Samsung. What a disappoint these ovens have been. The engineering for this product is a disgrace for any company and I no longer see the Modernist products advertised and it may be because it is such a poorly designed product. I never met a computer that I did not love, but this is not the electronic wonder that was advertised when we bought the ovens.

When I bought my house, the previous owners told me that theyd been having problems with the Dacor oven. They had purchased a replacement burner and prepaid the Dacor authorized service technician to install it for us. We have worked for three years now to get Dacors authorized service representative to install the part for which he has already been paid, and have been using a toaster oven to prepare meals for a family of four the entire time. The oven will heat to 135 degrees, then either shut off completely or immediately switch to broiling mode and burn whatever is inside it. When I called Dacor to see if they could help with the service issue since the technician was authorized by them, they told me it was my problem, not theirs. Although if the product they manufactured wasnt faulty in the first place, it wouldnt be anyones problem!

Our Dacor oven is 2 years old and the oven door stopped closing all the way, rending it inoperable. The company is now owned by Samsung. I tried to schedule a service call to repair/replace the door hinges. This should be a simple process. However, because I purchased the oven through a designer and Dacor dealer, I had to track down the order verification to demonstrate that I am the original owner of the oven (this is in addition to providing a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase). It took several days to resolve this issue with my designer and rep who sold me the oven. Then, I scheduled the service call on the phone only to receive an email hours later advising me that the service call had been cancelled. No explanation was provided. After rescheduling the service call several times only to have each call cancelled, something finally worked with Samsungs tracking system and the service call actually took place.Dacor is the Mercedes of ovens and I expect a service call to be a little more expensive. However, other providers of luxury products facilitate the product support to minimize customer aggravation. Samsung needs to work on its product support and customer service. I would not purchase a Dacor product again since there are several other manufacturers that provide comparable luxury kitchen appliances with much strong customer support.

When our installer removed the packing material, he saw that the oven glass was shattered. Dacor said they would fix it, but wouldnt tell me how. I had to call the local repair shop to see what parts were being shipped. Only the glass! Not even the whole door. The idea that they would take apart and reassemble a brand new oven and consider that acceptable service makes me angry. This is supposed to be a high end company. I responded that this was unacceptable since the oven had obviously been dropped (shatter pattern spreads from the lower right corner of the glass) and might be a safety hazard. No response yet. We bought 3 very expensive Dacor appliances when we built our home 12 years
We bought 3 very expensive Dacor appliances when we built our home 12 years ago. They have been a total disappointment. The microwave was replaced after just a couple of years when it just stopped working properly - including needing to stop it by opening the door! The wall ovens have needed many minor repairs which have amounted to several hundred dollars after labor charges. I see on this post others have had to repair the hinges! Ours have been replaced twice! The broiler came loose and was hanging on one side. The internal light also goes on and off by itself - sometimes in quick succession. At times, it stays on and cannot be turned off by the light button but by banging the front of the oven! Ridiculous! The cooktop cooks very unevenly. It goes from simmer to boiling over. The ceramic material did not hold up very well either. It is supposed to clean easy. But there are spills that have left permanent stains and we will be replacing that as well. We have also had Customer Service tell us items have been discontinued so we have no choice but to replace these appliances since replacement parts cannot be purchased any longer. This is a warning to anyone considering Dacor - DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! There are far better appliances out there!

I bought a Dacor appliance package for a new custom home which costs over $30K+. Every single piece of appliance is defective. I am OK as long as Dacor can fix or address the issues but it takes them several visits, put the appliance out of order and fixing it does not happen any earlier than 8-10 Weeks. Imagine you living with a fridge, microwave, range and oven for 10+ weeks. The column freezer stops making ice. I call for service and tech informs the lever was jam and he fixed it. Wait 48 hours. After 48 hours still no ice. Another call and after a wait of 3 weeks another visit and diagnose need new part. Wait for part 4+ weeks and another 3+ weeks for replacement. Fridge does not cool and maintains temp 45 degree+. Service tech showed up 3 times and promised it is fixed. Have thrown out thousands of dollars worth food. To date I dont have it fixed. Waiting for a part, tech not available scheduling issues etc. To date I have been out of fridge (8/12/2021) 9 weeks from I made the first call. Currently I have a tech scheduled for 9/1/21.This is not the end. Microwave will run normally and wont heat the food. After several phone call and waiting they figured the door pin was not connecting properly and need parts to fix. After 10+ MONTHS it looks like it is fixed. The range control panel is hanging from underneath and no one seems to care to fix it. Every time I call they tell me its normal. I believe Dacor has not QA/QC in place prior to shipping the appliances to customer. Worst experience ever. If you need more details do not hesitate to call me on **. I hope you run away from Dacor. Dont even consider this option. I have a track of all phone call and email and timeline with Dacor service. I am planning to file a lawsuit and recoup some of the costs and losses.

Our Dacor wall oven (model MOH 1305) is the subject of my concern. Purchased with confidence in Dacor’s advertising in 2008. The oven has had multiple visits by a Dacor authorized repair company who along with a Dacor technician determined that the oven needed a relay board replacement. This relay board has been replaced twice and has failed after installation both times. The relay board provided by Dacor appears to be the problem. Each repair/service call costs approximately $300.00 with no guarantee that the next relay board will work. Our conversations with Dacor give us no satisfaction. Dacor now tells us that our “superior product” of 11 years is just too old. Additionally, they tell us that Dacor products are “superior products” that are designed to last somewhere between 10 to 15 years. There is no excuse for Dacor since the replacement relay boards they are sending us seem to be defective. Their excuse that we have an “old” oven is wrong since the problem is with their defective replacement parts. Beware consumers when thinking about purchasing Dacor products.

I had the burners replaced and I still have to light them with a match each time I turn them on. The oven temperatures were never correct. Nothing bakes properly even following their directions. It bakes very uneven. The hinges are sprung/broken (as the doors are too heavy for the lightweight hinge they use). The electronics on the first two induction burners failed within six months which was covered under warranty. The second two went three weeks after the warranty and we had to argue with Dacor to cover them otherwise it is a $1400 repair job. From day one whenever you open the oven door the controls and heat shut off. Sometimes it turns back on when you close the door. As for the downdraft, it worked fine until 10 weeks ago when while closing, the cover lip hit a wooden spoon that had been lying flat near the edge. There is no safety feature and the motor continued to try and close the fan. The unit would not respond and would not re-open. The spoon had to be broken to get it out. If this was a childs finger you would have had to call 911. We now have a repair bill of over $350 and are still waiting for 2 months for Dacor to send a part. We will never buy this brand again.

The Dacor gas range/ oven and wall oven were here when we bought our house in 2010. I would never buy any Dacor product again. I will have to look for a replacement for the gas cooktop range. The Dacor gas cooktop is OK except that EVERY time you turn on a burner, one or two of other igniters start clicking and wont stop until you find which one it is (not always the same) and turn it on and off. Please heed this and all the other warnings from the choir. DO NOT BUY DACOR!It is all very expensive junk. The oven temperatures fluctuate while baking. The oven range unit is out of warranty. So our home warranty AHS covered it but they kept sending out the same grubby slob who never fixed the problem but did charge us for the $75.00 service fee. They replaced the oven controller and the temperature sensor. This did not fix the problem. We have a full size oven that we cannot use! Then F1 beeping nonstop, and we have to turn power off to stop it. Now, out of the blue the downdraft fan just started extending and retracting over and over again with no way to stop it without going back to the electrical panel and flipping the breaker that it is wired into. That leaves us with no kitchen and no bathroom plugs! I hung up after 35 minutes on hold. I was just trying to find a certified technician in Bend, OR. Im reading all these reviews and my story mirrors them all... I have actually contacted a lawyer and am considering either a lawsuit or going to small claims court because, at this point, its cheaper than continuing with repairs every other year. Has no one else considered a lawsuit under your states lemon law? Appliances are usually covered. I purchased the MORD230 wall oven in 2008... It was purchased as a second oven to my 6-burner Wolfe to cook a turkey or roast during the holidays. It has been used no more than 24 times... I have gone through 2 control panels and am now having glitches with the third. After doing a self clean recently the whole heating element blew - it will not heat at all. I am able to enter the temp but the oven just runs and runs and never heats. I have called Dacor furious for how many times this thing has broken in relation to how many its been used... They have offered parts at a reduced rate but I am not sinking another dollar in this oven on labor and parts only for it to break again. I asked for my money back and told them to come and get the piece of garbage they sold me. Do yourself a favor and buy a Wolfe... It works beautifully... My only problem was the cast iron grates rusted a bit recently... I called their customer service and was on the phone for no more than 5 minutes and they overnighted me a whole new set no questions asked! The refrigerator was installed in April 2017, a $20,000 purchase. It had problems from the beginning and theyve only gotten worse. The unit was replaced (not the exterior, of course) during the first year. And now, less than a year later, it is not working once again. Weve been waiting over a week for a service call and have lost thousands in groceries - have had to eat almost every meal elsewhere - and have not received a single response from their service department. I will NEVER purchase another Dacor product again. I am preparing for legal action.

I wish I had read all these reviews of Dacor products before being duped into paying for a high end wall oven. As many others have mentioned, the electronic panel design is faulty. I paid $1000 to have it replaced once. Now it is broken again and the alarm beeps constantly. The reply from their service rep was that they havent had any recalls of this product (in other words, no ones house has burned down yet). He also admits that he wouldnt buy a Dacor oven unless he had money to burn. Well, my money has already burned and so have I.

We love our Dacor 36 refrigerator. We have owned it for 6 years and never had a problem with it. Our friends and family have also complimented the look and style. We are happy with our purchase and would recommend Dacor products to anyone.

We purchased a Dacor Oven model # ECS 136544 in 2009. Within two years, the relay board and thermostat in addition to an LED bulb required replacement. A year later, the broiler heating element and the second LED light required replacement. Dacors response (800-793-0093) was read your explicit warranty and the implied warranty under Section 2-314 of the Uniform Commercial Code isnt applicable. The total expense for repairs is over $1,000. Did we get a lemon, or are Dacor ovens prone to failure? Should we have been thinking Wolf?

We have had problems with the igniter switch which clicks when I have a large pan or pot on the stove. My husband has tried cleaning the igniter tip with a brush as well as the removable ring but we still have that problem. We also have a Dacor microwave that seems to blow a door fuse pretty often that has to be replaced.

Dacor ERD30s06BK/LP - thought reputation was good. Quality seemed outstanding. Like: Appearance; Dislike: Performance, Reliability, Serviceability, Quality of parts, Availability of parts. In a word: Dont buy a Dacor! Ive learned that if you have a repair person/organization you can depend on ask them to suggest the best appliance based on their repair experience and their ability to obtain parts. Dacor has already replaced range once. Oven interior cracked when self-clean was used. Stovetop burner ignitors frequently continue to spark after flame is established. Stovetop burners will sometimes extinguish when flame is low. This experience showed me that just because an appliance is expensive, it doesnt mean good performance or high quality. Because of the cost of replacement we have lived with the Dacor until the next major repair is not possible because of lack of available of parts or cost.

This is an update on my posting regarding our ER36DSCH/NG posted Dec 30, 2013. A Dacor representative has been in contact with us and has offered to install a new oven control which they think will resolve our problem. We are absolutely thrilled and quite surprised that they are footing the entire expense. Now this is what I call good customer service! Thank you Dacor.

Our initial dishwasher had many problems. After several service calls, we called Dacor to identify the issue and see if there was anything they could do for us. We received a brand new dishwasher (even better than the initial one) for a nominal cost. We would like to thank Dacor for their excellent service and attention. Its not always the issue, but the resolution that makes the difference.

We purchased our fridge for $9,249 in September of 2016. By the beginning February of 2019 the fridge stopped working completely, I called Dacor who sent out a technician to determine the problem. The technician said the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. A week later we found out that Dacor no longer makes the particular compressor I need. I have now been living without a fridge for 3 weeks and Dacor doesn’t seem to care at all. We have 3 children and are currently living out of a cooler with ice. I call them and email them every day begging them for a resolution. They are a avoiding me. I believe they owe me a new fridge and they don’t want to do it. We saved long and hard for our expensive appliances and it’s absolutely heartbreaking to have this useless fridge stop working after 2 years, and Dacor seems to not care.

I first bought the low-end Dacor dual fuel range and overhead microwave oven. Within the time frame of 3 years, repairs to the stove cost over $2,500. The stove cost $1,800. Ever single piece of plastic on the stove cracked and had to be replaced multiple times. The microwaves handle cracked 6 times, twice in one week. The overhead trim, which is about 30 by 6 and heavy, fell off and hit me in the head while I was frying bacon. If it had hit the pan of hot grease, I would have been burned. I contacted Dacor and got the brush off. I contacted Fight Back with David Horowitz about the problem. Dacor called me back, bowing and scraping, and we came to an agreement that they would take back the stove and microwave and put the full cost towards an upgrade to their high end model. I am sure you think I was stupid but the stove cooked beautifully and I thought a stove with no plastic trim pieces would solve the problem. Wrong! The microwave control panel has gone out twice, each repair costing around $350. The handle broke 4 times but that was covered under warranty. The front control panel has died 3 times (another $350 each time). The broiler dies each time the self-clean is used and that has been fixed 3 or 4 times. Some computer board on the top of the stove has died (another $400). The enamel lining inside has cracked, crazed, chipped off and rusted. Now, the front control panel has died and so has the one on the microwave. Times are very tough for us now and I cant afford to get them fixed. I noticed that the front panel trim on the top of the microwave is starting to pop out again (plastic fatigue). Hopefully, it will fall off again while I am cooking and hit me in the head and knock some sense into me. If it does happen, I will take them to court.

When my husband and I built our home 11 years ago, I splurged and got a Dacor ERD36 36 dual fuel range. During the process of our build, our builder dropped my range during the installation. Dacor was very quick to send out a servicer to make sure the performance of the range was not compromised. The only thing that needed to be replaced was a bent bullnose in the front and the kickplate. I have had one service call in 11 years, which was last year after a brownout in my neighborhood caused my clock and oven setting to go crazy. It had nothing to do with function and had nothing to do with shoddy manufacturing. I just got it fixed and continue to use my range every day. I am looking to expand my island because I need another oven and I am very excited to add a Dacor oven to my home with zero hesitation. I am looking at a DO130S. I would buy Dacor over and over again!

The range cost over $7,000. In the first 2 years multiple malfunctions in the mother board, the convection oven functions, and had to hire a local company to repair. The Dacor company did not care. Called them multiple times, wrote them and received no assistance or response. Repairs cost $$$$ to fix each time something broke.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2007 and bought the High-end Dacor side by side fridge and oven set. The fridge has been down FIVE times in 8 years and we have replaced elements, etc on the stove at 5 years. Horribly built and product support has been near non-existent, even during warranty period. I would not recommend this product line to anyone. If it was just one appliance or the other OR if the product support was there, I would not be as upset! We spent over $15,000 and have had nothing but headaches and lost $s on repairs and food that was thrown away.

Dacor Distinctive Series Range model DR30D - One week after the appliance warranty expired, the oven stopped heating. The repair man replaced the circuit board. We still got a code 33 when we try to get the oven to heat to 400 degrees. Called customer service, they said to flip the breaker to the unit off for a few minutes. Seemed to help but we do not use the oven much, as we also have a Meile microwave/oven that we love and use that more. Then I cleaned the oven using only the ovens program. That locked down all of the gas cook top knobs. I called the repair service, it snowed on the Saturday of the appointment. They cancelled. I did not check the stove on Sunday. On Monday the repair service walks in and simply turns it on, no problem. VERY FISHY!!! I have heard the manufacture can control it by computer chips. This appears to be very true. Now the stove does not heat past 250 degrees. After speaking to a few people it appears this is a very common issues. Dacor is a lemon. Do not waste your time and money.
