Purchased Dacor Wall Oven EO130SCH in 2011. Rarely used, so never used the self cleaning function. Occasionally wipe with microfiber cloth, eco-friendly cleaners like vinegar and Bon Ami and elbow grease. First problem in 2017 when the oven would not heat up, just before I had guests coming to stay with us. Dacor repair personnel could not make it out for a few weeks, so repaired the issue myself by resetting the thermostat with some creativity and effort. Next problem in 2018 with a U43 relay board error. Can use it for a while if turn off the power to the fuse box for a while, but in 2019 it also started making a clicking noise, and basically not functioning right before I needed it for a party. Cant replace the relay board (which costs more than $300 for the part itself) without pulling out the oven. But why is the relay board failing so quickly? Is there a fan cooling issue? Have talked to Dacor. Poorly designed, poor quality. I would never recommend Dacor.

We installed 2 Dacor wall ovens, a 5-burner cooktop, and a downdraft fan in 2000. The convection ovens bake perfectly and have performed without fail. After 7 to 8 years of daily use, we did have to replace the door hinge on the oven I use most often. We are in a rural area so the repairs are accomplished through Sears. The replacement parts arrived in a timely manner and the oven has worked perfectly since. The cooktop is easy to clean and the heat is even. The downdraft fan is effective and easy to clean. I would be confident to recommend Dacor products.

After purchasing what I thought would be ovens of a lifetime I could not be more disappointed, frustrated and angry at a company in my buying history! Since November of 2014 and longer I have been fighting for service or answers or at least honesty! The ovens have never worked properly, they do not keep temperature. The oven temperature drops 60 to 75 degrees while cooking over a couple hours. The control board was replaced. Still the ovens never worked. If you like to cook and cook for the bed and breakfast, which is why you bought an oven like this, you will have your ovens on for a couples hours preparing any multi-dish meal! I was treated rudely on the phone during routine troubleshooting and was never allowed to speak to a manager. Dacor for months or so later is buying back my ovens minus a restocking fee, on ovens that dont work, $1200!

The glass plate in the bottom of the oven has been a disaster from day one. Anything that drops on it leaves a white mark that is impossible to remove. It finally became so discolored that I had to have it replaced; over$100 for glass and factory-trained repairman charged $285 to install, a ten-minute job. I wish someone had told me of the problems before I spent over $5,000 on a range which should be useable, not just pretty to look at which also doesnt happen when the oven is all stained. Burners are tinny and dont begin to compare with the Thermador I have in my other home. I will never purchase another Dacor product.

We had our whole kitchen renovated and purchased Dacor appliances through Caplans Appliances. We purchased the appliances in the summer of 2019 and they were shipped shortly after. Since our kitchen was still under construction the appliances sat in our home. They were installed the second week of November. Two months ago, I woke up to a sucking noise from the dishwasher. The dishwasher had a code of LC. We removed the custom kick plate to realize that there was water damage. Dacor has been contacted on numerous occasions regarding this and the dishwasher continues to leak. We have had 5 service calls to house and the problem persists. The seal has been replaced twice in a 2 week period. The repair company HARGTA gives us a window and does not show up at that time causing me to sit around all day waiting for them and then some days having to cancel work. Dacor customer service continues to say the Regional Tech Manager will be the one to provide the resolution and we have not heard from them yet. The reviews on here clearly indicate that the dishwasher leaks. We are risking damaging our floors which were put in at the same of our renovation. Looking for a resolution ASAP. To those considering Dacor appliances do your research.

I purchased Dacor Brand cooktop, oven, microwave and dishwasher. The dishwasher quit working after four weeks. Price tag for the dishwasher 2,800. Three weeks later Pacific Sales in Corona will not take the dishwasher back and replace with a new one. Dacor is struggling to provide a service tech in my area to look at the machine and honor the warranty. In the mean time I am shelling out money for Dawn dishwashing liquid and washing the dishes by hand. Complete JOKE. If you want a brand that will not stand behind their product... purchase Dacor. Want a salesperson who will talk up a brand but the Store washes their hands of the transaction after payment, shop Pacific Sales in Corona Ca.

My wife and I purchased a new Dacor dishwasher, new Dacor range and new Dacor microwave oven. Unfortunately, the dishwasher never worked and were now going through the process of getting the unit repaired. A repair technician was sent out and discovered a new CPU was needed. Then once the CPU was installed, a new circulatory pump was needed. And finally, once the circulatory pump can in, the unit still doesnt work. Weve had the technician in four separate times (installation, tech inspection, CPU install, and circulatory install) and each visit is approximately one week between visits. Yes, were now going on four weeks without a dishwasher that we paid for. Beyond that, someone needs to be home each time they visit. So now Im without a dishwasher for four weeks and I have to take four days off of work so a technician cannot fix my dishwasher. When I called Dacor customer service and asked for a temporary unit until mine is fixed, they simply stated we dont do that. Dacor may be a premium appliance manufacturer but they do not have a premium customer service department. So buyer beware, if your unit has any problems Dacor will not rush, hurry or try to accommodate you. Im sure the unit will eventually get fixed but after a month of waiting, I believe Ive earned the right to warn others about Dacors business practices. We purchased the unit from Pacific Sales in Corona, CA. When we asked Pacific Sales for assistance they said it was a Dacor issue and refused to assist us. These two businesses will no longer receive my patronage.

We purchased our home brand new in August 2006. The house was built and the appliances installed (but never used) in 2003. One of the things that sold us on the house was the kitchen being comprised of all high-end Dacor appliances (double convection oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and built-in microwave). Our excitement quickly turned to frustration. The first problems began with the dishwasher, which after several attempts at repair (circuit board) was begrudgingly replaced by Dacor, with “begrudgingly” being the key word. I have always found Dacor customer service to be rude and dismissive - with the only way that I ever received a satisfactory outcome, being via threats of contacting the BBB and Missouri Attorney General.About a year after receiving the replacement dishwasher, the internal racks began rusting badly. Once again, I called customer service who originally wanted to sell me new racks at a discount. Only after another persistent round of explaining that high-end dishwasher racks should be made from a material that doesnt rust, complaining and threatening, did I receive new racks free of charge. I was also informed that they had changed rack manufacturers and that would eliminate the rusting problem. Wrong. It has now been another couple of years, and the new racks are rusted worse than the previous ones. That is just the dishwasher. Our Dacor microwave display began slowly losing its LED display about 2 years ago. Lately, the microwave interior lining is beginning to disintegrate and rust through. One of the burners on our gas cooktop makes a constant popping noise when lit. The top half of our double convection oven no longer heats beyond 250 degrees. I realize that our appliances are now significantly beyond their warranty period, so I am no longer even attempting a resolution through Dacor. I will most likely ride these appliances into their graves and replace them with another brand. I am writing this mainly to alert others about my experiences with what I believe to be Dacors total lack of quality at a premium price. In my opinion, Dacor is all style and no substance.

My oven would not work. Neither the broiler nor oven element would heat. The dealer from whom we purchased the range had gone out of business. So, I wrote to customer service on the Dacor site. Dacor customer service was back to me within 24 hours with a suggestion on what might be wrong. My husband followed the easy directions and my oven is now working! I am very happy with the prompt reply from Dacor customer service. They even provided a dedicated phone number if we had problems.

Dacor representative has been helpful in responding to my complaint and has sent new oven racks which I greatly appreciate. I was able to send them pictures of the damaged racks. I want to clarify that the warranty that was sold to me by an upscale appliance center was NOT a Dacor extended warranty and I believe that this caused my issues to slip thru the cracks. Nothing can be done about the interior that seems to have a film of sorts on it, short of replacing, but I am grateful that Dacor customer service went out of the way to correct the problem with the racks.

I have been very disappointed in the reliability of our Dacor refrigerator, model EF42BDCBSS, purchased in 2007. The first circuit board went out in 2008 within 6 months of the initial purchase. A replacement part could not be located. It was still under warranty so they replaced the whole unit. In 2010, we had to have another repair to regulate the temperature of the freezer. Last week (October 2012), the circuit board went out again! Even though the unit itself is less than five years old, it is no longer under warranty. Dacor goes by the original installation date. I contacted Dacor and spoke with LS who basically stated that all they could offer was a discount on the part. This repair is costing us over $650, not including the loss of food. We paid to have the part second day. When we called back the next day to get a tracking number for the shipment of the part, we were told by another representative that the part had not shipped because it was out of stock in the default warehouse. He was able to locate it in another warehouse and get it shipped the same day. I called LS back and she stated that she never promised when it would ship, but when it did, it would go second day. I would not expect this type of repair cost and attitude on a refrigerator that was over $9,000 when new. Now, I am concerned with the liability of our range and microwave, which are of the same Dacor brand. The main reason I took the time to write this email is to make retailers aware of the situation and ask that you seriously look at the reputation of the Dacor appliance line and decide if you really want to promote this product to your customers. Dacor could care less about their customers and/or reputation.

Updated on 05/11/2021: I wrote a review about my terrible Dacor stove, and I was amazed when I was notified within a couple of days that Dacor wanted to help resolve my issue. I was asked to provide some basic personal information, which I dutifully supplied. That was weeks ago and I havent heard a peep since, and I doubt I will. Clearly they do this just so they can mark these reviews as Resolution in progress to make it seem like theyre doing something to help. But as far as I can tell its nothing but a smokescreen. Dont be fooled by resolutions in progress.Original: Our Dacor stove is the worst stove I have ever owned or lived with in my 50+ years. Within 2 years after we bought it, the oven had stopped working twice and 2 of the 4 knobs broke. (Ive never had a knob break on any stove before.) Luckily an appliance repair person (not specific to Dacor) was able to get the oven working both times but told us replacement knobs were not available. We have tried generics but nothing fits. I have been juggling 2 knobs on 4 burners for more than 3 years now, and STILL Dacor has no replacements available. Six months ago we inquired again and were told they had a new model of knobs available that would fit, but we ordered them and they were on back order and never became available. Meanwhile Dacor had already processed our payment for them (which is illegal, I believe) so we had to deal with getting that refunded because our hope of the knobs ever being in stock was gone. This is also the loudest electric oven Ive ever owned. It sounds like convection is on every time you use it, whether or not its actually set on convection. That lasts for 20 minutes after you turn off the oven, too. Also, periodically the stove emits a loud BEEP and resets its computer for no apparent reason, sometimes when Im cooking (oh, you had a timer going? TOO BAD - who knows when it will be ready now!) and sometimes when the stove isnt even on at all (just thought you might like to reset the clock - AGAIN).Furthermore, the oven door has a special design with an open space at the base that allows dog hair to get sucked in from under the stove and collect between the 2 layers of glass. So we get to view our food through dirty HAIR. Apparently thats why the oven is so loud, because it takes a lot to suck up all that hair from under the stove. This can be cleaned, but you have to remove the door to get to it, which is not easy - I cant do it myself. Its so embarrassing when we have people over for dinner; I just hope nobody notices the hairball in the oven door. After reading through the other Dacor reviews I consider myself lucky to be able to cook at all. Buyer beware, dont EVER buy anything from this brand. Its total (expensive) crap and customer service is nonexistent.

From the beginning, August 1997, 17 years ago, I was not able to use my oven after self-cleaning. The problem was never resolved after countless service calls totaling over $1500. Aside from the cost, I was inconvenienced every time I cleaned my oven, as I was not able to use it until it was serviced, about a two week wait. I contacted Dacor early on and they reluctantly agreed to extend my warranty for a year. They did nothing beyond that, and my oven still shuts down after self-cleaning, which I hesitate to do at all, until it is beyond needing cleaning! The circuit board was replaced and recently the cooling fan was changed, but....no luck. Buying a new oven is not an alternative, as the oven performs well in every other way and I simply cannot afford one. I cannot believe a company of such status is not interested in satisfying its customers.

Dangerous condition! I purchased a Dacor 36 dual fuel range 5 years ago. I reported the issue to Dacor via email with no response from customer service. I believe the no response was an attempt by Dacor to distance themselves from their responsibility for this potentially dangerous condition. Specifics: When pre-heating the oven in convection/bake mode, if the oven door is opened before reaching the set pre-heat temperature, a ball of flame will explode up from the opened door. The ball of flame is basketball sized and has singed eyebrows and hair on several occasions. To reiterate - it is a ball of flame, not super-heated air that is the problem. As a result, after non-response from Dacor, we called a decor qualified repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. The igniter was replaced and the problem still exists. I fear that a small child may be severely burned by the engineering design fault.

Our Dacor oven is 2 years old and the oven door stopped closing all the way, rending it inoperable. The company is now owned by Samsung. I tried to schedule a service call to repair/replace the door hinges. This should be a simple process. However, because I purchased the oven through a designer and Dacor dealer, I had to track down the order verification to demonstrate that I am the original owner of the oven (this is in addition to providing a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase). It took several days to resolve this issue with my designer and rep who sold me the oven. Then, I scheduled the service call on the phone only to receive an email hours later advising me that the service call had been cancelled. No explanation was provided. After rescheduling the service call several times only to have each call cancelled, something finally worked with Samsungs tracking system and the service call actually took place.Dacor is the Mercedes of ovens and I expect a service call to be a little more expensive. However, other providers of luxury products facilitate the product support to minimize customer aggravation. Samsung needs to work on its product support and customer service. I would not purchase a Dacor product again since there are several other manufacturers that provide comparable luxury kitchen appliances with much strong customer support.

In September 2009 we did a complete remodel of our kitchen. Replaced everything but the refrigerator, with DACOR appliances. Within a few months we had problems with the dishwasher and finally replaced it with a GE in 2012. About that same time we had problems with the Dacor Epicure 30 Single Oven Model EO130SCH control panel and had to have the repairman out to work on the relay/computer board. At Christmas 2015 I had trouble baking, the temperature wasnt accurate and have had the repairman again. He says that the computer board is fried (his term). Ive tried calling Customer Service with no success. Ive e-mailed them with same results. The appliance repairman has told me that he cant find the part. All the distributors that hes called have been told that the part is on back order. Ive been without an oven for over two months now with no fix in sight. Have been told that IF we find the part it will probably run around $500.00. These are appliances that are only six years old and have had gentle use by senior citizens. Anyone reading this - PLEASE DONT BUY DACOR! Youll be sorry as I am.

Dacor dual fuel 30 inch range - First of all the look of the dacor is second to none in my opinion. The digital screen with blue lighting makes this a truly elegant part of any kitchen..... when it works. The range top itself worked flawlessly for me and the main burner was always more than enough. The problem with the range lies in the electronics. The unit has been in my home for over a year and has worked for less than a month total. An error code appeared when ever the oven gets hot. C33, C1, 0000, 1111, C11. Ive seen it all. I have had the main board replaced twice and my local repairman is on first name basis with even my dogs at this point. Finally, the liner split and the range became unrepairable. We made the mistake of purchasing a simpler, gas-only range because Dacor offered a modest discount. I was and, I repeat, was a loyal Dacor customer. I gutted and rebuilt a kitchen 9 years ago and purchased a Dacor stovetop, oven and microwave. I remodeled my new house 5 years ago and again purchased Dacor stovetop, oven and microwave. Consumer reports provided favorable reviews of the appliances I purchased below.First red alert: The oven Model MORS130S and Microwave Model DCM 24S LED did not match. The microwave was green; oven was blue. The brochure was in black and white so there was no way of knowing that aesthetically they were a mismatch ... it was very sloppy(!) and very deceptive by Dacor. I mean when I waited weeks for my appliance order and the oven is already installed with a big fat ugly LED screen, what was I supposed to do, yank it out and start all over again? This was disappointing!Next, I was simmering chili on the stovetop (5 burner, gas) and, lo and behold, 18 flames started exiting through the turn knobs resulting in a meltdown. The gas was leaking through the tubes underneath the stovetop. I just happened to check the chili while I was gardening to watch the house almost burn down and btw, it was difficult to put out the flames because the natural gas was leaking under the unit. Seriously! I called customer service and they got hopping right out to fix the issue. This scared the heck out of me. It is negligent to have a product like that on the market. After about 13 months into the life of the Model MORS130S oven, the touch panel failed emitting a CO1 error message. I was told it was $140 to fix it and that the panel was defective, great quality there, Dacor. And the added joy to the CO1 error message is that the unit beeps intermittently all day and all night long unless the power to the oven is killed. Joy... now another issue - Model MORS130S oven LED lights are burning out. Seriously, what else will there be? Now its $175 for LED panel and another $100 to install by an authorized Dacor service man.So I called Dacor back again today because the LED light out was annoying me. They offered nothing. To be fair, my appliances are out of warranty but seriously, Dacor nearly burned my house down. They should be winning me back as a customer if they really cared about their customers and having long term repeat business. Never again, Dacor, never!

Updated on 09/08/2019: Received a long apology from Dacor regarding their complete inability to service our range stating they would make it right. After sending them all my contact info privately at their request, we have heard nothing. My husband drove to Houston to their showroom, met with Dacor rep out of California, still nothing. Note there are only a few suggested repair services on their website which none cover our area. Avoid Appliance Genius. They wanted $ 500 just to drive 50 minutes travel cost. So here we sit, broiler in main oven out, lighters do not work, and the control screen is blank. Yes, Dacor was great until something broke.Original Review: Our Dacor range was great until it started needing repair. First the broiler went out in the main oven. Then some of the lighters quit working. When we called for repair, every place we called said they would no longer service Dacor because they were unable to get parts. For over a year we have gone back and forth with Dacor state office. They finally sent a “tech” from a video repair store. Really. He charged us $170 to drive to us. Then said he couldn’t get the brass rings off the burners, sorry. Called Dacor again and they said if we found anyone to let them know!!! Yesterday, the the touch panel burned out. I’m done. Dacor does not stand behind their products. I have documented all conversations. Do not buy Dacor.

We purchased Dacor appliances twice, (double ovens, warming drawer and gas cooktop), after our first flood, and then again, after we flooded from Hurricane Harvey. (Dacors customer service was excellent in helping us replace all our appliances when we were going through such a horrific disaster because the vendor we purchased our appliance from the first time, wasnt in business anymore.) We were very satisfied with our appliances the first time we remodeled, that we purchased them again, and have not had any problems. The ovens heat up quicker than other high-end ovens and the range top cooks evenly and looks beautiful. I would purchase again, but hopefully, I wont have to.

I bought a Dacor dual-fuel range in 2002 for my new house. Within 18 months, the control panel on the front had shorted, causing the stove to emit a continuous beeping. I got this repaired, and was advised that I should not use liquid cleaners on the stove! Two years later, the same thing happened again. Finally, about 4 years ago, another fault developed in the 3rd control panel, the circuit controlling the oven lights will not respond to touch, and the oven lights switch on and off continuously. Not prepared to pay for yet another control panel replacement, I switched off the power to the stove at the main fuse box. I have continued to use the gas cooktop only, lighting it with an ignition wand. The Dacor stove is only part-functional due to what is obviously a severe design fault in the front touch control panel, which causes the panel to short. I switch on the power to the unit twice a year to use the oven at Thanksgiving and Christmas for large roasts. This stove was a very expensive mistake. Luckily, I have a second (Wolf) oven in my kitchen, which I use instead for everyday cooking.

Warning! Do not buy Dacor appliances! We have had our appliances for three years now and all of them have had something wrong with them. Oven circuit panel went and had to be replaced! Dishwasher arm and seal broke and dishwasher leaks! Refrigerator freezer compressor went! Hood range switch broke and had to be replaced! Dacor is the worst appliances I have ever bought! We purchased a home with brand new Dacor appliances. Within 1 year, the relay board had to be replaced. One year later, the relay board has to be replaced again. Its $600 each time for parts and labor... The part alone costs $500. The company does not warranty the relay board. At this point, we should have purchased a new wall oven. They claim these are superior appliances. Our gas stove top works well, but the wall oven and refrigerator have been nothing but problematic. We will never purchase this brand again.

I am writing to complain about our Dacor dual fuel stove that we purchased
I am writing to complain about our Dacor dual fuel stove that we purchased in 1998 when we built our house. Initially things went well, and I enjoyed baking in the oven and the convenience of the gas stove top when we had power issues. But then the honeymoon ended, and the problems started. After completing our first self clean cycle, we started getting the F1 code, and noticed cracks in the front on the stove. Our repair guy came out, took a look, and then informed me that Dacor had had numerous problems, and were not so good about living up to their warranty. He was right, Dacor felt in no way that they should help resolve our problem. With 4 kids, you cant just go without a stove, so we paid for the parts and repair. I figured it was just a one time thing, but I was wrong. We are now again looking at replacing the same part just 3 years later again with cracks and the F1 code. Dacor should be ashamed. Do the math. If they walk away from responsibility on all of these faulty products that average $5,000 a piece, shouldnt they have the money to pay for the fixes or maybe hire better engineers? They need to be held accountable for this mess. I need my oven back on!!!! And after the money we have paid for repairs, light bulbs, and parts...... the rest of the care should be free and on them.

I spent a lot of money buying a Dacor double wall oven because it was supposed to be top of the line and dependable. Now, the circuit board needs to be replaced and the oven is just 5 years old! This seems absolutely ridiculous for an oven this young to have such a major problem! I am very upset about all the money I am going to have to spend to fix it. Ive never, ever had any oven problems with other brands like this in my life. We remodeled our kitchen and I thought I was getting something better and now I realize that this brand is not living up to my expectations at all! I am using an authorized Dacor repair company and they told me that they are seeing lots of problems with this brand. I do not recommend this oven to anyone.

We bought a whole new kitchen's worth of Dacor appliances - the Modernist line. It's too soon to review their performance, but so far they work well and look fabulous. Most importantly, I had an issue registering my appliances for warranty. I sent an email and not only did they resolve all my issues, registered everything for me, they also notified me I was eligible for an extended free warranty program, and they set it all up for me without any effort on my part. I wouldn't have even known if they hadn't done it for me. So far, I'd say that they have stellar customer service. When researching online before making the choice to go with Dacor, I had trouble finding information and reviews. I wanted to make sure and share my good experience since all too often people only share when they have had a negative one. I hope this is helpful to someone looking to buy!

I owned a 36 Dual Fuel Epicure range that required at least an annual repair for the same thing. The control pad (the pad with the buttons that controls the oven and light) would fry. This would cause the oven light to come on and off like a strobe light. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty from the vendor, as each time this was replaced it was $750+ to repair. When I complained to Dacor on their support line, the representative actually told me that I was running the oven too hot!About 6 months ago, I sold the house and left the very expensive range behind. It was problematic from day one. Other repairs included replacing the ignitors. After a year of use, the insulation on the door came loose and was hanging in plain view through the window on the door. Every repairman that came to service the range said the same thing.... that they repair a lot of Dacors. When it worked, it was a great range. If you do buy a Dacor, do yourself a favor, buy the extended warranty. You will need it and it will pay for itself.

I purchased a Dacor range hood 3 years ago. I had an intermittent problem from the start, as one of the two lights would intermittently go off. Replacing the bulbs didnt fix it. As one light worked perfectly, it became a tolerable issue. Finally, I was having other electrical work done in our home & I asked my electrician to look at it two weeks ago. He figured out that it was a defective lamp housing that incorrectly held the lamp bulb. Dacor shipped me a replacement lamp housing for me at no charge. I installed it this last weekend and it is running fine. Thanks, Dacor!

Dacor refuses to take responsibility for defects in their products. Our wall oven required two cooling fan motors and two relay boards over a relatively short period of time. In addition, all of the sensors had to be hard wired when the oven stopped working, and our service technician was informed by Dacor that moisture tended to get into the sensors on these ovens. We spent nearly $1500 on these repairs. Reaching a customer care representative at Dacor can take upwards of 20 minutes. Phone calls are not returned. Customers are left to pay the cost of defects in Dacor products.

Follow-up to March 31 posting: In 2001, we installed two Dacor wall ovens and a gas (converted to propane) cook top. The cook top has been problem free and the brushed stainless steel surface still looks like new. Both ovens however, at that time, were problematic during the two year-warranty period. Knowledgeable service people were hard to come by in our region. After numerous service calls, Dacor replaced one of my wall ovens at or around the three-year mark (outside of the warranty period). That particular unit had only one minor issue since then and Dacor replaced the appropriate part free of charge. The other original unit has been problematic since the beginning. The latest problem being the internal light going on/off for no reason and then a lack of response to light button on the front control panel.Long story short, I posted my frustration here on March 31 and was contacted by a Dacor rep within two days. He asked me for detailed info on the problem and located the unit in their files. Some of the past repairs were known to Dacor, but others were not since we just did them ourselves. I was asked to send a detailed description of the current issue along with pictures, which I did. Based on Dacors analysis or the pictures and the exhibited problem, they sent me, free of charge, a control panel membrane, a door gasket and a set of door hinges. We installed these items and the unit is now in full working order. In looking back over the past years of problems with this particular unit, its clear to me the issues all stemmed from an original broken door hinge. It was compounded by the fact that the service and repair folks at the time considered the door gap to be within tolerance and we did not discover the broken hinge until the door glass shattered and we needed to replace it, which required removing the door. Anyway, at this stage in the game, I am very pleased with Dacors response. It is my impression that they are trying much, much harder to stand behind their products. So, while just a short time ago I would have never considered another Dacor product, when the time comes, they would still be on my list of considered vendors because when these ovens work, they work great.

We have had our Dacor since 2006 and this range, the most expensive appliance we have ever owned, simply doesnt maintain the proper oven temperature. We have owned several far less expensive ranges and their ovens, much more basic designs, do what an oven is supposed to do maintain a temperature! We cook or try to quite a lot but working with this stove is like baking over an open fire while camping. This supposedly gourmet, fancy, convection oven that supposedly can bake cookies and meat at the same time is a total fail. We have had the service people out repeatedly to no avail. I am convinced we could change the circuit boards repeatedly and it wouldnt make a difference because it is a faulty design. This product should not be on the market or this company and their poor service in business. DO NOT BUY THEIR RANGES! Unless you dont cook and all you will do is look at it. We are thinking about retaining an attorney to file a class action suit. We could buy a low cost oven that works several times over for what we have paid in repair bills.

Our refrigerator is 5 years old and has had a problem with icing up in the freezer area, resulting in a loud noise from the freezer fan. We originally called Dacor for service but they could not get to it for 2 weeks. An appliance repairman installed a new heater for the defroster. This only worked a short time and happened twice with a cost of over $1000. A couple of months ago, it happened again, and we were able to get a hold of ** at Dacor customer service. She knew exactly what was causing the problem. She ordered the parts and directed a factory-approved repairman to install over $800 in parts and we are confident the issue is resolved. Dacor appliances were installed in a new home I purchased. The refrigerator has been out of service every single year since purchasing the home. So far, two thermistors, one power supply board, one drip pan heater and one ice maker. Every time the unit fails, I have to wait several days for the authorized service provider to come to the house. That will then result in the need to secure a part that will require anywhere from three days to three weeks before the unit can be placed back into service. As you might guess, perishables dont last that long, so every event results in the loss of hundreds of dollars of food. After yet another extended outage experience, I called Dacor to find out what they might propose to make sure my refrigerator actually performs in a reliable manner (apparently I didnt get the fridge with that feature). The short version of the story is that they not only failed to ever apologize for the fact that their product doesnt work, they insisted I produce detailed documentation covering the last four years of service before they would consider taking any action. Shame on me for not keeping all the invoices from the two service companies. After numerous exchanges, an offer to pay for the part associated with the last repair, not the labor, was the best they could do. Apparently, $250 is too much for Dacor to invest in a customer who has paid several thousand dollars in repair bills and lost hundreds of dollars of food for a unit that is four years old. This is a company who obviously cannot design a product that works consistently and cant provide after sales support in an effective manner.

When I bought my house, the previous owners told me that theyd been having problems with the Dacor oven. We have worked for three years now to get Dacors authorized service representative to install the part for which he has already been paid, and have been using a toaster oven to prepare meals for a family of four the entire time. The oven will heat to 135 degrees, then either shut off completely or immediately switch to broiling mode and burn whatever is inside it. When I called Dacor to see if they could help with the service issue since the technician was authorized by them, they told me it was my problem, not theirs. Although if the product they manufactured wasnt faulty in the first place, it wouldnt be anyones problem!

Also installed two under the counter warming drawers - nothing but problems and repair expense. Now we need a small $25 part - a cooling fan with motor that is faulty. Was informed the part is no longer available - customer service told me well, it is 10 years old. Really? Our 10 year old Dacor microwave finally passed on, so I ordered this model, as it fits into the existing trim kit. It is basically the same model I had before, without all the "digital" screen display and the "tune" that played when the food was done. It still does multiple steps at different percentages and, instead of hitting time, percentage and start, you select time, and repeatedly press the "power setting" button multiple times to arrive at your desired percentage (it steps down from 100%), then press start. It's also an 1100 watt unit where our previous one was 1200 watts. I don't notice any difference. It has a "cobalt" blue display. There are many "preset" buttons for things like Pizza, Popcorn, etc. Love our new Dacor!

I could not get a straight answer from the person I was talking to. He just told me that if the repairman says I need a new touch pad, then I need to get one. Well I have been doing some research and this is a problem that seems to be haunting more people than I. We own a Dacor gas cooktop that has had to have a switch repaired. We built a home in 2006 and installed all Dacor appliances. I would never ever purchase these products again. My gas cooktop was the top of the line product from Dacor and I have had nothing but problems with it for 5 years now. I have spent over $1000 fixing the large burner that continues to have leaks with the seal to the point where the flames come out the bottom of the burner. Most of the other burners click when lit even though they are clean and away from a draft. I have had 2 Dacor approved repair companies out and they both recommended against Dacor. In addition, the finish on the cooktop has soaked in my heavy duty cooking juices and foods and the stains will not come out. Apparently, this is due to the new finish they used so that the metal can withstand the high temperatures. If this company were an auto mfg., they would have had to do recalls and face potential class action suits. I would prefer to be cooking on a camp stove rather than my Dacor. When I contacted Dacor, they offered parts at a reduced rate which still cost a fortune. When I asked about replacement, they said they would sell to me at a discounted rate which was still $2400. Bad product, bad company. My cooktop is still giving me issues. it is embarrassing to cook with friends around because of the problems.

I remodeled a kitchen in a high end house and so wanted nice appliances. I had KitchenAid (which Id had a lot of issues with) for about 16 years. (Since I built the house - the fridge was rebuilt 3 times.) While looking for which appliances to use we were at an open house and a chef was cooking and giving a talk on the Dacor ovens in it. So... I reviewed a lot, liked what I read, and chose Dacor. I love them, the cook quality, the features, all of it. BUT my double oven had issues from the start. An annoyance at first with the built in Android but I didnt complain a lot. Move forward 1.5 years and the Android tablet built into it would freeze and not restart without throwing a jumper on fuse box. I called Dacor and they gave me a number of options, disable the Android because of a known issue and get $500 back, or - return the oven for full credit and theyd pay to have it removed (1.5 years later... cmon thats pretty awesome), or - pay $500 and move to the newest higher end model with steam cooking. Wow, talk about stand by your product! Ive never seen this before with an appliance manufacturer/vendor. Certainly wasnt my experience with KitchenAid. Anyway Im an advocate even though I had a problem and thought they deserved credit here.

Updated on 02/23/2021: Its been several weeks since I first posted. The only reply that Ive received was an email via this site that requested information from me on my claims. The info was provided the same day. A week has gone by since I provide the information and I have yet to hear back from Dacor. Not even a were looking into your issue. What I did receive was a notice from Samsung (who has acquired Dacor) telling me that one of my service tickets has been cancelled. I dutifully called the listed number to get more information... only to be told that the Samsung customer service rep could not help me and that I needed to call Dacor. Ive tried to approach this matter with humor up to this point but I am out of patience. Given the price I paid for these products, I expected a premium customer experience... the experience I have received has been abysmal.Original Review: I did not think that a customer experience could be this AWFUL or that a vendor could seem to care less than Dacor cares about resolving my issues. After 5 months, the exhaust downdraft that we purchased still does not work and Dacor either does not respond or - when I can get someone on the phone - I get any number of standard excuses (parts shortages, Covid, port backlogs are delaying deliveries, the integration with Samsung, etc, etc). I am also missing basic parts such as shelves(!) that should have been installed during the original installation. The retail partner (Specialty Appliance) does not seem to have anymore luck in getting answers.

This week Dacor installed my 2nd replacement gas range. I remodeled my kitchen 3 years ago and chose Dacor because I had a great experience with their appliances in the past, had their oven and stove in my kitchen for 15+ years and never had a problem. With the first new range, the oven started to automatically shut off due to excess heat escape, so the safety feature would kick in and shut the system down, in addition the knobs would become very hot even when the over was used briefly, 12-15 minutes. I was very impressed and happy with the customer service through Dacor, they immediately gave me a brand new over. Exactly another year, the new oven had the same problem, door begins to not hinge properly and heat begins escape, knobs get dangerously hot. This week Dacor very kindly, replaced my appliance with the new Dacor Renaissance 36. I used the oven for 12 minutes on 400 and the entire exterior is dangerously hot. I do not have any children, however, if I did I would be terrified that they could seriously injure themselves. The exterior of an oven should not become hot like this. Has anyone else had this issue with Dacor? I feel they have been very responsive with regards to customer service however I want an appliance that is safe.

Got a great online deal on Dacor LP gas range. Was new but had dinged side panel according to store. Couldnt see the ding in photos and it would be hidden against cabinets anyway. Range is finally delivered and is new as advertised. Works great for a few days but then the oven wont hold temperature and then wont light. This is when the nightmare begins. Samsung now owns Dacor and getting to the right people to make a warranty claim is insanely difficult. After making the repair claim we get notified that there is no warranty coverage for service as this was not a new unit. Pardon me but we have the sales receipt showing that it is with full factory warranty. They finally agree to accommodate us and then repeatedly cancel repair tickets. After many calls to fix this, they now tell us that no service center will come to repair the range! They offered a refund minus some sort of discount based on a stove being used for a period of time. Oven stopped working a week into having it and they want to DISCOUNT a refund! Made BBB complaint and their response was they would have someone reach out to the customer. Today they did that and we are still at no resolution. Told them they have 3 options, fix the range, replace the range or refund us completely and I will make arrangements to fix the oven. They say there are no ranges in inventory to replace this one with with. No one inside the US will call or reach out to fix this fiasco and we are left with someone that is not allowed to make decisions that speaks english as a second language. Sad thing is that its a basic range that at first seemed to be a great design and would be great to have in our kitchen. Its now endless headaches because Dacor refuses to step up and remedy a defective oven part with a service call from someone that would require likely higher pay than their network providers.

Im planning a kitchen remodel and stumbled on this site. I have a Dacor dual fuel range (stove wont light, oven wont hold temp), hood (light wont stay on consistently), microwave (replace once, okay now), wall oven (panel out) and warming drawer. Only the warming drawer is working correctly. I live in rural Kansas and I cant get anyone to do repairs. I really like the design but... its time to move on to a new brand!

When I completely remodeled my kitchen 6 years ago, I actually went AGAINST the advice of my appliance dealer and kitchen designer and insisted on buying the Dacor 30 double convection wall oven. Id been longing for Dacor ovens for years and though they gently tried to steer me towards Miele or Electrolux, I dug in my heels. Ive regretted ever since. Since first use, my electronic display has not been without an error message. Every time I go to turn on the oven, theres a message telling me to clean the convection fan filter. I called Dacor and they told me to ignore it! It was a mistaken message. Still, I cleaned them repeatedly to no avail. The main electronic circuit board on the oven has gone out three times. They paid for it the first time because it was under warranty. The second time they sold me the part at a discount but I had to pay for the service call. Total cost to me: $480. The third time, I had to pay for everything myself. Total cost to me: $870. They told me its because I broiled with the door open. I have NEVER broiled with the door open! The inside lights go on and off randomly. The temperature probe has NEVER worked properly. Last week, I was preheating the oven to bake some cookies and an alarm went off giving me a cooling fan error message. The oven turned off and I cant get it to turn back on. I called Dacor customer service twice so far and the first time they told me they would research the issue and call me back. They NEVER CALLED. I called again and they told me they could ship me the part and I could pay for the service call. The lower oven is currently working so I havent done anything yet, but the oven originally cost me well over $5,000. I have put another $1,300 into it. Im not about to spend another $500-$600 on this complete waste of money. Bottom Line: Dacor sells junk for exorbitant prices and refuses to stand behind their products. I was an idiot to fall for the Only True Convection Oven in the market line. Im buying a Miele or a GE to replace.

I purchased a Dacor Renaissance range for our new home. What a waste of money. Though I have not had any major problems with the performance of the range yet, besides uneven baking, the design is not user-friendly. To begin with, the gas burners share a grate. So when cleaning, you have to remove the whole grate on one side. The controls for the burners & griddle are very hard to see & I have to bend over to see which burner Im turning on. The oven racks are a joke. The two glide racks are very bulky with sharp edges. It is difficult to change the heights or to remove them for cleaning purposes. Though there are three racks included, it is impossible to bake with all three in the oven.I have a GE Monogram that I had purchased two years ago for another home, and I love it The Renaissance & Monogram are similar in price, but I unfortunately, listened to the sales person & let them talk me into the Renaissance. I realized my mistake in buying a Dacor immediately & contacted the appliance store. Even though the Renaissance had not been used, they would only give me a token amount of money towards trading it in for a Monogram. So, I am stuck with a range that causes me to swear under my breath every time I use it. Dacor could learn a lot from GE.

We did a complete kitchen remodel 2 years ago. My husband talked me into purchasing american made over the Bosch products that I preferred. This has been a horrible experience. The dishwasher does not clean. I was told to prime the water and purchase the higher end platinum packs. That did not work, then it was add lemi shine. That has not worked. The water never completely drains, ugh old water. A service tech could not tell me where the rinse aid indicator light was and insisted mine did not come with one! Microwave does not heat in an adequate time. All listed times I have to double time if not more. I was told to put a Rubbermaid container over the food product to insulate the waves... ha! Oven does not regulate heat. when I go to increase the heat during stated recipe, the screen always say 50 even though I would have it at 375. I was told it always will revert back to 350, really. I had all Kenmore appliances prior to the Dacor and never had a problem... Do not buy, I wish I hadnt. We are filing this with BBB and headed to small claims court.. This should be fun. I hope Dacor sees this.

We remodeled our kitchen and decided to use the range as the focal point of the room. The decision to go with a Dacor ER36DSCH dual fuel range over comparable Wolf and Viking models as well as a Dacor heating drawer was made, a decision I have regretted since. Our unit keeps blowing the baking element ($200) which routinely fails at the most inopportune times. To date I have replaced four and the Mrs. recently informed me that the oven is once again not heating properly. Thankfully, I am competent enough to diagnosis and repair it myself and did a thorough operational inspection and cleaning which revealed the broil element ($180) had also gone bad this time. My wife hates this oven and unfortunately it sits right smack in the middle of our beautiful kitchen to remind us of the bad decision we made. In fact, we are now at the point where we are considering replacing it and sending it to a scrap yard where it belongs. Avoid this brand or it will cost you.

Dacor ERD30s06BK/LP - thought reputation was good. Quality seemed outstanding. Like: Appearance; Dislike: Performance, Reliability, Serviceability, Quality of parts, Availability of parts. In a word: Dont buy a Dacor! Ive learned that if you have a repair person/organization you can depend on ask them to suggest the best appliance based on their repair experience and their ability to obtain parts. Dacor has already replaced range once. Oven interior cracked when self-clean was used. Stovetop burner ignitors frequently continue to spark after flame is established. Stovetop burners will sometimes extinguish when flame is low. This experience showed me that just because an appliance is expensive, it doesnt mean good performance or high quality. Because of the cost of replacement we have lived with the Dacor until the next major repair is not possible because of lack of available of parts or cost.

We remodeled, added a very upscale kitchen in 2003, and chose Dacor appliances, 36 inch dual fuel stove, 30 inch wall oven, microwave, and a 30 inch dishwasher, well over $25000 worth. NONE of the appliances has worked properly, but the dishwasher has taken the cake. I have lost count on how many times I was in contact with the customer service. The digital board went bad, the error msgs kept coming for years! The racks/baskets rusted after just a couple of years! After numerous encounters with anybody I could get a hold of they were finally replaced, but not the right racks because they do not fit, falls off the side every time I use this dishwasher. I cannot tell you how frustrating this has been! I was eventually told that I could not complain anymore because I was out of warranty and they would not respond anymore! I am stuck with this $3000+ dishwasher that I cannot afford to replace, because I would have to rebuild that area of counter cabs in the kitchen! The service has been horrible. This was the most costly mistake purchase I have ever made.

We bought the Dacor Wall Oven (ECS136SCH) in 2006 during a complete kitchen remodel. In 2009, the relay board was replaced twice. The first time, it was over $500 to replace. The second time, it was covered under the parts warranty when a terminal was bad. Now, I need another relay board and a new element which will cost over $700 to replace. For an oven that was originally over $3000, this is not acceptable, but what other choice do I have? The technician told me that Dacor has the worst mark up for replacement parts. I thought I had done my research and found that Dacor had a good product. I guess I was wrong.

We did a major remodel in 2006 and were talked into Dacor Appliances by the kitchen planner. Big Mistake! The first time we tried to do the wall oven self-cleaning, the circuit board blew out. Since it was just past warranty and no one near us in West Virginia would work on it, I found a board online for $200.00 and replaced it. It has never heated evenly and now it wont heat past 350 F and maintain temp. The Dacor range hood sounds like a jet plane and the variable speed switch wont reduce rate. The bulbs burned out and after buying two online for $30 each, I removed the decorative housing and use a more standard $10 bulb. The Dacor gas cooktop is OK except that EVERY time you turn on a burner, one or two of other igniters start clicking and wont stop until you find which one it is (not always the same) and turn it on and off. Please heed this and all the other warnings from the choir. DO NOT BUY DACOR! It is all very expensive junk! I only gave it 1 star because there was no way to rate Dacor a zero!

Regarding my previous complaint on 3/21/12, I had a Dacor fridge, model #EF42BDCBSS, installed in my brand new kitchen in March 2008 (Ive a kitchen full of Dacor). It subsequently had a problem with the drip pan in March 2009 and was fixed on warranty. Come March 2012, the fridge was again diagnosed with the same problem. The technician told me there had been a design problem, but after three re-designs, it was remedied and should have no further problems once the new part was installed. The bill, $658 and more than half, was for the part! Of course, I was livid because the fridge had been fixed in 2009 and was now off warranty. When I expressed myself originally, I was simply venting about the price of the repair without hope of a remedy. James at Dacor customer service called me promptly that next morning and left a message! We subsequently talked and he immediately got in touch with my local appliance service center. He not only worked out with them refunding my deposit for the part but also ordered two other parts that were necessary in order to fix the problem. The outcome? They fixed my fridge at no charge to me for parts or labor, and all I had to pay was the original trip and diagnosis charge. I cant begin to tell you how extremely happy and grateful I am about this. Thank you, James, for such terrific follow-through and thank you Dacor for being a top-notch business who stands behind your products!

I cannot recommend that anyone purchase these appliances as the control boards simply do not work for more than a couple of years.

I could have written every one of these negative reviews. Ive had all the same issues with my Dacor Epicure oven. Faulty computer panel, failed motor in the downdraft fan, oven not maintaining temperature (meaning NOTHING cooks correctly in this oven), burned out lower element and discolored interior. And let me add that the interior oven fan stays on for about half an hour after you turn off the oven. What purpose could that possibly serve???? Suffice it to say that this is a poorly made product by a company that has no desire for repeat customers. I am currently working with customer service to try to get my oven working for Thanksgiving, but I just dont have much hope after reading all of these similar issues. Clearly, they manufacture a sub-standard product and sell it at premium prices. Nice business model, for a while.

Epicure Range, wall oven, microwave and fridge - When remodeling our kitchen in 2010, an appliance salesperson gave us a good deal on the entire set. We spent $20k on the Dacor appliances. BIG MISTAKE! Do not ever buy anything Dacor. We have issues with every single one. Where do I start? The ovens have gone out three times now and I have had to replace the main panel, now it will not heat at all. The refrigerator 42 built-in is a big piece of crap! We have had it serviced 4-times for everything. The entire fridge freezes over due to a design flaw. The fan in the freezer completely ices over. The ice door broke. The crushed ice broke. The plastic door for the butter broke. The shelves broke. The microwave has had issues and has had to be fixed. The oven temps were wrong. Fixed those myself thanks to YouTube. When talking to the service guy he said that these are cheap appliances with the Dacor badge, so you have to spend big bucks to buy them and big bucks to repair! Do yourself a favor and if you are thinking of Dacor run! I contacted Dacor and they are even worse to deal with. They did not care that their appliances are very unreliable. Never received a return call, email, or even a letter.

I, too, purchased a 30 Heritage gas range in Nov 2018. The first time I ran the cleaning cycle (2 weeks ago), the oven heating went out. After time consuming attempts to reach the warranty dept, finally got a call back. Sent the required information and was told the warranty servicer would contact me within 48 hours. After not receiving such call, I reached out via email again to Dacor and was told to contact the servicer directly. Well, I just did that, and was told they refuse to service me because DACOR IS NOT PAYING THEM! How is that for a luxury appliance company making millions off of its customers and not paying its service companies? A very clear breach of contract since my warranty is active until November 2021. I have never in my life had such an experience, with the LG, KitchenAid ranges I have owned. Never even have needed one ounce of service in their life. So now I await a response from posts on Dacor FB page and voicemail I left, hoping for service. What a colossal waste of money. Buyer beware!

I have a 4 year old Dacor Renaissance 36 in gas range. The thermostat is broken, the self-clean cycle doesnt work due to a broken lock and the oven indicator light stopped working about 2 years ago. Pros: It is an attractive oven with the knobs that light up blue when on and the burners all work fine but that is it! The technician told me ALL parts I need are on backorder due to Dacor being bought out by Samsung 2 years ago and COVID related delays. He also told me there is no ETA on those parts and said it could be an unknown amount of months. So now I dont have an oven for an unknown amount of time. This is unacceptable. I was sharing my frustrations with a friend who recommended I post this on Dacor Applicances Facebook page. He thought I would get an immediate helpful response. So I did. It was taken down not more than 3 minutes after it was posted! They never even reached out. Pretty poor company service. I will never buy Dacor anything again. Even when the oven was working ok - it never kept good heat and the self-clean cycle never cleaned well - there was lots of grease residue left behind. This is a poor quality company all around. The problem started with our refrigerator unit when it was still in the first year of a 2-year warranty. We have had over 9 service calls for various problems; we had to replace the circuit board, switch and the pan twice. The warranty runs out soon. After five unanswered calls to the customer service number, we were finally able to get through; not that it made a difference. Their response was, “We apologize, but there is nothing we can do?” Sound familiar? Dacor refuses to extend the warranty even though the problems seem to be bad design, parts and customer service. A third visit was required as the oven codes shut down the unit. The last two service calls have been with the cooling fan. Now that the fan was replaced, the relay board needs replacement, too. We bought this oven and had it installed a month ago. Id love to love it, but unfortunately I dont even like it. Immediately after installation I noticed the touchpad for the bottom oven didnt work. I called Dacor and spent quite a bit of time while someone did the standard is the power on run through. I was told someone would have to call me back in the morning, at 9 am. The next day at 10 am having not heard a word, I called back. I was given the option to be called back (you wont lose your place, and our first rep...) Great! Nope. Four hours later still nothing. I called back again. Someone answered quickly and after a short call arranged for a service person to come out in a few days.Fast forward a few days and the serviceman arrives. Hes clearly never seen this kind of oven. He calls Dacor and talks to their troubleshooting department. They decide the motherboard is bad and reorder. Well, its been 10 days. *crickets*. There is no sense of urgency... In fact nobody even seems to care that my $7500.00 oven doesnt work and the microwave literally cant even pop popcorn. I would expect the company to rush delivery of the part. If need be replace the whole oven and figure out what is wrong with the motherboard on your own time. What I didnt expect is for literally everyone involved in the process of choosing and buying the appliance to not be able to find a solution. I have the Dacor 30 all gas range in my house and it is the best. The grates take up the whole top surface of the stove area, so I have a ton of room to cook on. Basically, I can fit 4 giant pots on the stove at the same time, so Im ready anytime a chili cookout might break out. This is also super convenient during tamale season and soup season because I can put up to 4 giant stockpots on the stove simultaneously. In the event that I spill, its easy to remove the grates and give the surface a nice wipe up. As far as the oven, I totally rule the holiday season because I can fit up to 3 full size 18x36 catering sheets in at the same time, so basically, I can cook 4 dozen or more cookies in one shot, leaving me tons more time with family and friends than if I was baking 1 sheet at a time. As a contractor, we were fortunate enough to build our dream home which was completed in 2005. After much research and many show room visits, we purchased Dacor appliances for our kitchen. As the saying goes, if I knew then what I know now. Our biggest (note I said biggest, not only) issue is with our ESC130 oven. If you own this oven, do not, repeat, do not, use the self-cleaning mechanism. I have had this repaired once and then replaced once (along with a relay board). I seldom use this because I know when I do the lock mechanism will continue to cycle until it is replaced. This means, while I can still use my oven, I have to time when I open the door based on when the lock is cycling in the unlock position. I must also turn the oven off at the circuit breaker or listen to the continuous warning beep that the lock is cycling (as if I didnt know). After repairing this feature once, I next choose to have the mechanism replaced and Dacor offered me a discount on the parts (the oven was and still is out of warranty) at a cost of more than $500.00. This is on top of what I had already paid to have it repaired just 18 months earlier. I feared using this feature again as I didnt want a repeat performance. After cooking macaroni and cheese yesterday, I felt I really needed to clean the oven and made the mistake of using the self-cleaning feature of the oven. I dont know why I was surprised when the locking mechanism refused to stop cycling.I contacted Dacor today only to speak with the rudest customer service representative I have ever encountered, Steven. No last name. He is the only Steven who works there. He refused to listen to me, spoke over me when I did try to talk, and did not allow me to speak with anyone else. There are no supervisors available on Fridays and he could not transfer me anywhere. I left a message for someone else to call me (they did not). I called back later that afternoon and was given the name of a supervisor, Nhi. She was not available and I spoke with another customer service representative. I learned that Dacor is aware they have a problem with this locking mechanism and are trying to correct it. This got my hopes up, thinking that the company would now do the right thing and replace this mechanism at not cost to me, or at least at no cost for the parts. Not so. Even though Dacor knows there is an issue with this mechanism and they are supposedly trying to correct it, all they can offer me is a discount on parts. Really? Wow! A discount for a part that you know doesnt work properly and probably wont work properly because they are still working on the problem? I just really dont know what to say. Is this supposed to make me happy as a customer? Would prospective customers want to buy a Dacor product knowing that Dacor is more than happy to sell me a known defective product at a discounted price and they should expect the same? It is probably needless to say that I would urge all prospective Dacor owners to not waste their money on any Dacor product as they do not care about their customers. I will certainly be doing my part to warn others and hope this serves to warn others as well. Dacor has a lot to learn in terms of building even what could be called a good product and standing behind what they sell as well as becoming a customer service oriented company.

I bought my Dacor epicure 36 duel fuel range in 1998. First stove: oven door did not close, spark modulator out. They tried to fix it but failed. They sent me a new stove. #2 stove: same problem with spark modulator. Couldnt use any burner without the constant clicking. Oven didnt bake evenly. Complained. Stove: #3: same problems. Dacor sent me a letter to grade them on their stoves and service. I blasted them. They called me and ask if I wanted my money back or another stove. Stupidly I took the stove. This was 5 years since the original purchase. Ive had this stove #4 for 13 years. Door is and always has been unable to close. I use a stick to close it. Now the relay board is out. Frankly I so love the looks of the stove and I cant afford to get a new one. Original was 5200. Now they are 6700 and I would probably have the same problems. So I am going to try and fix this stove myself. I will never buy Dacor anything ever again, even if I could afford it. When they offer your money back, take it. The service was responsive although didnt solve the problem through 4 stoves. I would gather from that, the design is bad. My mother has a old 1940 gas stove that still works. Gas stoves should not be that complicated.

Called Dacor support to acquire part number for a glass top for repair - obtained part number #701751 superseded by #702285, BUT was informed that the part had been discontinued and is no longer being manufactured or kept in stock. No other advice was given other than to discard the entire $6000 range. Multiple phone calls with service.I asked for a listing of third party part distributors and was referred to four distributors on the Dacor public website and given no other info. I called all web-based third-party distributors I could find in USA and Canada to see if anyone had the part in stock, with no luck. I contacted two technicians to see if they would be able to obtain the part through their channels, with no luck. I am an engineer, so I spent some time pouring over technical manuals trying to find a solution to replace the entire induction range cooktop assembly (top part of the range) with a later model, and although its possible, Dacor would not provide the ability to purchase an RNR30NI range cooktop assembly that could be fit into the existing housing on top of the range. The convection oven is completely fine, and I cannot believe that Dacor has given me no other option but to pitch a six-year-old $6000 range because they stopped manufacturing one fragile part made of glass. I would imagine that many consumers may be in the same position as I, as these cooktops are breakable, and accidents happen. I have reached out to Dacor support desk numerous times without resolution, and I am at my wits end with a $6000 boat anchor in my kitchen. What a waste of money! Poorly done Dacor!I would like Dacor to provide me with some sort of solution whether it be the part required to fix my induction cooktop, or a replacement Induction Range with convection oven, or reimbursement of the purchase price so I can obtain a replacement on my own. If I am not able to find a solution to repair my range, I will never buy from Dacor again! Dacor will discontinue easily broken parts without warning! You may spend thousands of dollars and not be able to repair your appliance after warranty expires!

We purchased a Dacor Double Wall Oven in late November of 2019. I liked the oven and it functioned well until October of 2020 when the oven quit working due to a control panel issue. We were told the part was on back order. I continued to check with Dacor customer service and was continually told the same thing -- it was on back order. Never once did they call me to give me an update. In December of 2020 when I called I was told there was an update. The part was no longer on back order it was no longer in production, they no longer make the part. They would review the file to see if they were going to give me credit for the oven or get me a new oven. I contacted them again today and was told it was still under review and it could take them another couple of weeks to decide what to do. I asked to speak with a supervisor but was told that there was not one available. The person I spoke with today said that she would call me next week to give me an update. I appreciate her concern but that does not get me closer to a working oven. I would not recommend Dacor to anyone, customer service is terrible.

In 2013 we remodel our kitchen. I need a 30" stove and Dacor seem the right fit. I had problem with the igniter burning on that stove and some metal warp as well. They replaced the stove in 2015. I smell gas every time I turn oven on. Last Thanksgiving 2019 the stove stop working. I was told the igniter had burned out and had it replaced. I had repairman come twice because of smell and end January 2020 the stove stop working again. The repairman told me that a jet burner assembly was never installed this is why I smell gas after it is turn on. ** They said they will order the part. It's back order So I contact Dacor. First they told me it's back order then give me a supplier. If it was never installed in the unit shouldn't Dacor take care of it and soon.

This range was installed in January 2003. The door on the larger oven was replaced soon after because it would not close tightly and still doesnt with the new door. I have always thought that the oven temperature is lower than it should be but have been told twice that it is accurate, tell that to the turkey. The heating element on the large oven was replaced 2 years ago. Four of the burners dont light and have to be lit manually, this has been going on for 10 years. The relay board has burned out and now has to be replaced, $800.00 fix. The technician just left and could not replace it, he couldnt access the tight spot that it was in and wanted to cut the barrier panel to get access to it. He decided not to do the job and told me to call Dacor to get another repair service, which I just did. I was prompted to write this after reading other reviews and remarks. I hope this helps someone out there to buy a different brand.

My wife and spend $12k on a new Dacor range/oven 15 years ago. The range works well, the LED lights on the gas knobs needed changed once in a while, the oven door wouldn’t close properly and the heat in the oven wasn’t distributed evenly. All that we could live with. Then the oven died. The repair technician ordered the part. Samsung don’t make it anymore. We are now left with no oven. So we have spent $800 a year on a Dacor range that now doesn’t work. Thanks Dacor… or Samsung?

In 2001, I bought a Dacor dual range stove. I paid over $2000. My problem is that there is a defect in the product; when you use the self-cleaning, the outside of the stove cracks up. Dacor has replaced this three times and each time it cracks again. I spoke with them about a year ago and because I didnt continue the warranty, they wouldnt replace it. I carry a home warranty. My stove looks like it came from the junkyard. I understand them not repairing a physical problem with the stove but the outside is crumbling because of a defect in their product. If you dont clean the oven, then you get an error and the only way to get it off is to clean but all that dose causes the outside to crack up more. It pains me to think of buying a new range when I thought I had done my homework, when I choose Dacor. I hope this isnt too late, but it pains me to think after another cleaning I may be forced to buy another stove.

I have a induction Dacor stovetop. Its stopped working and blinks an error code. Called customer service who didnt know what the code meant. I was told my model was 2015 which the rep said was old. It was installed in 2017. All they would offer was cheaper replacement parts if I paid for someone to come and figure out what the problem was and install the parts. I was told the replacement parts were not cheap though. I was told that because were the second owner of the house they couldnt fix it under warranty (even though it should be covered under warranty) because they couldnt say how it was used before (commercially or residentially). Give me a break! It gives me almost no confidence in getting this thing fixed. Warranty is a joke and customer service is terrible. So far I had to leave a voicemail for the reps next level who will call me back after the weekend. Im waiting to see what (if anything) they will do but from the first rep. I dont have a lot of confidence in their products.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2002 and chose the Dacor 36 dual-fuel range. I was preparing a pork roast for a dinner party with the oven on Bake. The roast was just not coming up to temperature, though the display indicated that the oven was at the temperature I set. I wound up slicing the roast and cooking it on the griddle; my hungry guests were getting restless. Then I tracked the oven heat for an entire day with an oven thermometer. The oven would come up to temperature and then cool off. I sent these numbers to Dacor and asked customer service for an explanation. Believe it or not, the conversation was--Dacor: The temperature is going down because the fan is coming on. Youre not supposed to use the Bake setting, but only the Convection Bake or Pure Convection. Me: Why is the Bake button there, then? Dacor: Were taking it out in the next production run. (This hasnt happened. My sister-in-law bought a Dacor last year before I could warn her and the button is still there.) Also, after using the self-clean one time, I noticed a crack on the inside of the oven door, starting in the corner of the window. The inside of the window is now permanently spotted with baked-on grease. Now my oven does not work at all. The repairman says that the circuit board needs to be replaced, and if Im lucky, it will work for a couple of years. The repair will cost around $700 including labor. The repairman told me that some repairmen in our area will not even work on Dacors because there are so many problems. Im considering replacing the stove... a very expensive mistake. Beware of Dacor products.
