Worst oven Ive ever purchased by far. Pay big bucks and get junk. About 2 times per month, the oven will not heat up. I cant count the amount of wasted food and dinners out, because it does not seem to ignite, only warm up to about 100 degrees. I contact the appliance repair company and it works when they come out, so they dont do anything. I will never, ever buy another appliance from this brand.

The Dacor dishwasher had problems engaging and activating the cycle. We finally had enough and purchased a Bosch dishwasher even though the rest of our kitchen is Dacor. The new Dacor was $1600+ and the reviews on all their dishwashers since 2007 are one out of five stars. Dacor knows there is a problem and wont rectify it with the consumer. An amiable young man called from Dacor. He stated he would help me on any future problem with the other appliances. Why irritate the ** out of Dacor consumers when your company has had a history of irate consumers, specifically regarding the dishwasher. This certainly doesnt increase sales and only angers the base.

This is my first DACOR product. Did not know too much about the brand. Did some research and read reviews online & decided to try a microwave in a drawer since I needed to save counter space. We use it all the time and so far it’s worked great. The color blends well in our kitchen even with the microwave being the only DACOR we have. DACOR customer service has been great and professional when I needed to register the unit. I would recommend the DACOR brand to anyone when they are looking for a premium appliance and anyone who comes to my home comments about how lovely it is. Thanks DACOR.

When I bought my house, the previous owners told me that theyd been having problems with the Dacor oven. They had purchased a replacement burner and prepaid the Dacor authorized service technician to install it for us. We have worked for three years now to get Dacors authorized service representative to install the part for which he has already been paid, and have been using a toaster oven to prepare meals for a family of four the entire time. The oven will heat to 135 degrees, then either shut off completely or immediately switch to broiling mode and burn whatever is inside it. When I called Dacor to see if they could help with the service issue since the technician was authorized by them, they told me it was my problem, not theirs. Although if the product they manufactured wasnt faulty in the first place, it wouldnt be anyones problem!

Replacement light for the oven - I could not find anyone that carries the halogen bulbs for my oven and called Dacor parts line. The bulbs come in a package of two. They were $79.95. Ive had this range for two years and am replacing the control panel for the second time. 1st time during product warranty and second time out of warranty. The range is beautiful but apparently the electronics are bad. And to add insult to injury Dacor doesnt stock replacements but has them assembled when needed. Estimated wait time for a new panel is 3 weeks; so no oven for 3 weeks and now not a lot of faith that the new board will be any better than the last one.

After less than a year after installation the oven continues to operate poorly. Its been recalibrate twice and a new control board installed. Did I mention the board had burned components? It still does not operate properly. Its at least 25 degrees off. Everything takes way longer to cook than it should. Thanksgiving was 2 hours late. Christmas was the same. Entertaining during the holidays, embarrassing. Now Dacor wants pictures to prove to truly see how poorly the oven is operating. I thought I bought a quality product but I was wrong. This is just following suit with the Dacor refrigerator I purchased and was replace months later.

Dacor Worst Oven Ever. Major kitchen remodel in 2005. Designer recommended Dacor for great styling and the fact that it was a 36 inch oven. Before the kitchen was even finished the control panel had to be replaced. Since 2005 our local repair shop has had to replace the circuit board 9 times. Same issue every time with not heating and board found every time to be burned out! Dacor replaced the first few boards free but we had to cover the labor. To date more than 5,000 in repairs. Dacor would not replace the oven and had terrible customer service. Its down for the 12th time and its headed to the junkyard this time. I cant see spending another dime on this lemon. Dont ever buy a Dacor!

I had a Thermador kitchen for more than 25 years and I was very happy with their products; I had a Thermador slide-in range with downdraft vent and a dishwasher and a KitchenAid refrigerator, but it was time to upgrade. Now, I upgraded my whole kitchen with all Dacor products and I am super happy, my 30 inch range top has extra wide grates which allows my wife to cook with extra large pans when she prepares food for donation, my updraft vent catches smoke and grease much better than my downdraft, my refrigeration is very nice looking with french door and middle refrigeration for my cold drinks and my dishwasher is very quiet. I invited a few friends home and they have admire my new kitchen. It has been more than months since I bought it and no problems.

We did a complete kitchen remodel 2 years ago. My husband talked me into purchasing american made over the Bosch products that I preferred. This has been a horrible experience. The dishwasher does not clean. I was told to prime the water and purchase the higher end platinum packs. That did not work, then it was add lemi shine. That has not worked. The water never completely drains, ugh old water. A service tech could not tell me where the rinse aid indicator light was and insisted mine did not come with one! Microwave does not heat in an adequate time. All listed times I have to double time if not more. I was told to put a Rubbermaid container over the food product to insulate the waves... ha! Oven does not regulate heat. when I go to increase the heat during stated recipe, the screen always say 50 even though I would have it at 375. I was told it always will revert back to 350, really. I had all Kenmore appliances prior to the Dacor and never had a problem... Do not buy, I wish I hadnt. We are filing this with BBB and headed to small claims court.. This should be fun. I hope Dacor sees this.

I spent a lot of money buying a Dacor double wall oven because it was supposed to be top of the line and dependable. Now, the circuit board needs to be replaced and the oven is just 5 years old! This seems absolutely ridiculous for an oven this young to have such a major problem! I am very upset about all the money I am going to have to spend to fix it. Ive never, ever had any oven problems with other brands like this in my life. We remodeled our kitchen and I thought I was getting something better and now I realize that this brand is not living up to my expectations at all! We chose DACOR (8-burner double oven top of the line ERD60S06CH/LP) in 2006, new construction because we disliked the signature blue interior of another luxury brand. Last October I detected a gas leak from one of the burners. The authorized repair company was contacted, and the entire unit - all 8 burners and both ovens were out of commission while we waited for the replacement part. Six weeks later the repair guy returned with the wrong part. We had to wait an additional month for the repair guy to return. Apparently, not important that people might want to cook and bake before the Holidays! After the new valve was replaced the oven light began to turn on when any of the gas valves on the defective side was turned on. I write this review 8 months into the problem. I can fix for $700 by ordering a new control panel. I wish I had read these reviews earlier. I overheard the tech say that there was electrical interference and that the wires need to be insulated to stop the oven light from turning on and off. I am so FED up with both the Dacor California head office not caring and the horrible authorized service company. I will take this unit apart myself and fix it. DACOR IS GARBAGE. Go with Sub-Zero, Miele and forget this Brand. DACOR: Dont Accept Crap Or Rubbish! Made in America? Shame on you. No problems with 4 Sub-Zero fridges, or 4 Miele dishwasher the same age.

Regarding my previous complaint on 3/21/12, I had a Dacor fridge, model #EF42BDCBSS, installed in my brand new kitchen in March 2008 (Ive a kitchen full of Dacor). It subsequently had a problem with the drip pan in March 2009 and was fixed on warranty. Come March 2012, the fridge was again diagnosed with the same problem. The technician told me there had been a design problem, but after three re-designs, it was remedied and should have no further problems once the new part was installed. The bill, $658 and more than half, was for the part! Of course, I was livid because the fridge had been fixed in 2009 and was now off warranty. When I expressed myself originally, I was simply venting about the price of the repair without hope of a remedy. James at Dacor customer service called me promptly that next morning and left a message! We subsequently talked and he immediately got in touch with my local appliance service center. He not only worked out with them refunding my deposit for the part but also ordered two other parts that were necessary in order to fix the problem. The outcome? They fixed my fridge at no charge to me for parts or labor, and all I had to pay was the original trip and diagnosis charge. I cant begin to tell you how extremely happy and grateful I am about this. Thank you, James, for such terrific follow-through and thank you Dacor for being a top-notch business who stands behind your products!

Dont waste your $$ move on to another MFG. I have owned this dishwasher for some time it never worked anywhere near what I paid for it. The glides fell out of the racks. It never finishes a cycle. I have spent $350 for repairs three times and it is still way less than satisfactory. Move on, try a Maytag, Bosch or Miele. Also parts are astronomical and you will need them. My husband and I built our home and moved in November 2002. We purchased a Dacor Double Oven, Dacor 5-Burner Electric Cooktop and a Dacor Microwave. After the second year of living in our home, we started having problems with our double ovens. It would start beeping at different times. Sometimes it would last a few times to off and on for days. Then it would stop beeping and not return for a year. Now the beeping has started again and now it is displaying off. It wont come on. We have turned the breaker off and back on because sometimes that would reset it but not this time. Now before I could call anyone out to look at it, my 5 burner electric oven is dead. I called Metro in Tulsa, OK which is where we purchased them and they gave us the name of a repair person in our town. He came out and told us that we needed new boards for both appliances and charged us $50.00 a piece just for the evaluation. Now one week later, he is calling us and telling us that our 5 burner electric oven is discontinued! I dont want to have to purchase a new oven! I will also say that on my microwave, where the time is displayed it is blank across one line. I didnt even ask to have it look at. Please help!

Updated on 09/08/2019: Received a long apology from Dacor regarding their complete inability to service our range stating they would make it right. After sending them all my contact info privately at their request, we have heard nothing. My husband drove to Houston to their showroom, met with Dacor rep out of California, still nothing. Note there are only a few suggested repair services on their website which none cover our area. Avoid Appliance Genius. They wanted $ 500 just to drive 50 minutes travel cost. So here we sit, broiler in main oven out, lighters do not work, and the control screen is blank. Yes, Dacor was great until something broke.Original Review: Our Dacor range was great until it started needing repair. First the broiler went out in the main oven. Then some of the lighters quit working. When we called for repair, every place we called said they would no longer service Dacor because they were unable to get parts. For over a year we have gone back and forth with Dacor state office. They finally sent a “tech” from a video repair store. Really. He charged us $170 to drive to us. Then said he couldn’t get the brass rings off the burners, sorry. Called Dacor again and they said if we found anyone to let them know!!! Yesterday, the the touch panel burned out. I’m done. Dacor does not stand behind their products. I have documented all conversations. Do not buy Dacor.

We purchased a Dacor built-in refrigerator in 2011. After just 5 years the warning beeper came on. We learned that the main control panel - built by Whirlpool - was defective. We then learned that Dacor did not have any replacement part for this model. Our only alternative was the purchase a new refrigerator. Amazing!! Dacor reluctantly gave us a partial credit for a new (KitchenAid) model. However at the end of the day we are out of pocket over $2000 because Dacor built and sold a defective refrigerator with no ability to fix the problem. Very unsatisfactory handling of this situation.

We were out of state from December 21, 2014 to January 2, 2015. The condition of the refrigerator was discovered at about 9:30 PM on Saturday, January 2nd. Upon opening the door the Dairy Compartment Cover fell to the floor. We could immediately see the damage but did not know the source. As a result, the unit was turned off. The owners manual was consulted along with a review of the Dacor website. The office was closed on the weekend so Monday was the earliest we could obtain names of Dacor authorized repair agents in the Phoenix area. A authorized Dacor repair technician stated the light switch or light circuit in the board failed. The interior light bulbs located at the top of the refrigeration side of the unit remained on when the refrigerator door was closed. The heat generated by the continuously lit bulbs led to the melting and charring of the plastic light fixture. The light socket melted, the wiring harness melted into the socket assembly, light switch, and control panel. The heat was intense enough to warp the Dairy Compartment clear plastic cover, some of the adjustable door bins, and the interior door liners. Also, all food containers made from plastic such as salad dressing bottles, mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise, etc. were disfigured. Of course all the contents from both the refrigerator and freezer had to be disposed. Before leaving on an extended trip we had been following the instructions preparing for a vacation listed on page 19 of the owners manual. On our departure date the food that would not have lasted more than two weeks was removed from the refrigerator. The ice bin was emptied and the wire shut off arm was raised to the OFF (O) position. Note, page 19 does not mention to set the Sabbath mode when leaving for a short or long vacation. We were fortunate that the damage was contained within the refrigerator.

My Dacor (3 years old) oven top burners igniters dont stop after being turned on, although they are burning. Ive tried drying them for many hours and applying rubbing alcohol. The front ones do this all the time when we turn them on. When we turn the left front burner on, the front right ones igniter does it along with the left! The back ones do it occasionally, so are still usable. Apparently this is a common problem with Dacor units. Why havent they fixed it? Weve had them fix the electronic panel at huge expense, and are not going to call them again. When the back burners stop working, well get another unit. Ive had gas stoves for 30 years and have never experienced anything like this poor quality. Its amazing that they are still in business.

I purchased a Dacor Double Oven 5 years ago. It is a beautiful design, but unfortunately a piece of junk. Over the 5 years I have had the oven, I have had service technicians repair the oven on 7 different occasions. Unfortunately, my oven is not out of warranty and has failed once again. Today was my 8th attempt at service and the service technician could not get the oven working. I have called Dacor, pleading with them to stand behind their product and to replace this useless piece of equipment. I continue to get L22 error codes, and the main circuit board had been replaced twice. After persistently calling Dacor’s customer service, they finally said they would sell me a new oven at a discounted price to the tune of $4800 plus tax, shipping and installation. I ask myself, why would I want to buy another piece of junk? If Dacor wont stand behind their products, perhaps someone should initiate a class action suit against them.

We bought our new Dacor CPS 130S wall oven when we built a new house in 04. First we had to replace the lower heating element. Now the touchpad (Dacor part # 13290S) is malfunctioning. The + button will not respond to touch. Called Dacor and was told that the needed part number was discontinued in 2009. I double-checked with a distribution center in San Antonio, TX, who confirmed that the part is no longer available. They referred me back to Dacor on the chance that Dacor would have one somewhere. Dacors suggested solution was that we need to buy an updated completely new oven, which would cost us several more thousand dollars. So here we sit with a perfectly good oven minus a touchpad to control it correctly. So much for buying reliable, U.S. made products and receiving good service. I thought there existed a federal law that mandates a company must make parts available for 10 years if they discontinue the product?

If anyone else has this experience with Dacor ovens, we need to have a class action suit against Dacor! While baking Christmas cookies this week with my grandchildren, my ovens stopped working and started beeping. The error code was F3. I was able to get a technician rather quickly who diagnosed the problem as a failure of the control board which affected both ovens. The replacement part was discontinued from production in 2011. My ovens are 12 years old and cost over $4,000 at the time. What a pickle I was in a week before family coming for Christmas dinner! The technician said my only recourse was to send the control board to a refurbisher and he did not know when the board would be fixed - all for a whopping costs of over $600.00! I find it unacceptable that Dacor discontinues a control board and forces the consumer to either buy new ovens or pay the cost of a refurbished part that I hope will work. After spending thousands of dollars, how does this happen? What can be done so the consumers who purchase appliances with good intentions are protected from manufacturers that dont stand behind their products? DACOR I NEED ANSWERS!!

In 2010 we purchased a new Dacor Epicure Stainless Steel 42 refrigerator/freezer. Weve had to replace the freezer heating element (twice) because it fails and then the freezer ices up causing the system to stop cooling. This past week the fan began making a noise and so we had repairmen come out (yet again). Technician confirmed that the pan motor (fan in freezer) has failed. NO PART is available... I couldnt believe that parts wouldnt be available for a $10,000 high-end refrigerator that was purchased new only ten years old. I called Dacor directly and asked them how long they make parts available after they retire a model. The Dacor representative told me that they make parts available for 7 years. 7 YEAR PART AVAILABILITY ON AN APPLIANCE THAT SHOULD LAST 15-20 YEARS??? RUN AWAY FROM DACOR. Obviously customer service is low on their priority list. We will be replacing our gorgeous $10,000 ten-year old Dacor refrigerator/freezer (now a boat anchor) with Sub-Zero. Not too much more money than Dacor but they continue to make parts available for twenty years following model retirement. That is the kind of company that I want to do business with.

We did a complete kitchen remodel in 2007. I wanted top of the line appliances, and I liked the look of Dacor. I spent over $10,000 on a refrigerator, oversize dishwasher, microwave oven and a warming oven... (I know). Within 16 months, everything started to fall apart. Of course it was over the one year’s mark so there was no replacing of the units on the manufacturers part. I have since replaced the motherboard on the dishwasher twice... total of 3K in repairs! I cant replace the dishwasher because it was oversized and we built our cabinets around it and no other company sell an oversized dishwasher. I have replaced the microwave oven with another one that looks just like it because for some reason it fried. The refrigerator constantly rattles and my husband and I are at our wits end because of it. The only thing that hasnt fell apart yet is the warming oven. Probably because we dont use it. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Its a total waste of money. Next time Im buying Kenmore. My old Kenmore is sitting out in the garage being a good and faithful second fridge.

I rarely write reviews but when I found your site, I decided it was time to vent. I bought a 36 dual fuel, convection Epicure range in 1999. It was not a cheap oven and I was excited at the possibilities of having a 16,000 BTU broiler and large oven cavity to work with. Lets just say that excitement quickly wore off. Almost immediately after the range went out of warranty, the ignitors went bad and we also had to replace the control panel ($400 in repairs was a lot back then). After that, we continued to have ignitor problems and replaced them again. Finally, I just stopped doing it and lit them with my aim and flame. I never allow my children to cook on the stove because I am afraid they will be burned. Most recently, my broiler element, relay board and again more ignitor problems ($1,200 in repairs). Not to mention, the repairman had a terrible time trying to access all the areas and was at my house for 4 hours trying to do so. When the initial problems happened, I emailed, phoned, left message, etc. to no avail with customer service (I use that term loosely). This company is the worst. I have told everyone I know never to buy a Dacor anything. Next time, Ill buy a Wolf.

We purchased our second Dacor microwave. When received there was a defect on the stainless front panel which we reported to Dacor (now owned by Samsung). They took claim information and we were referred to their service provider. A Samsung inspector subsequently visited our home and got approval from his superior. We were told the panel had been ordered. Two follow up calls revealed that there was a problem and we were referred back to Dacor only to learn the claim was overruled and denied. A subsequent appeal was made to no avail. Our warning is that Dacor repairs are very expensive and they do not back up their service warranties. Buyer beware.

We remodeled our kitchen because my wife is a chef. So we thought a full suite of Dacor products was just what she needed. What a mistake! Our $6000 36-inch dual-fuel range had problems from the start. We had to replace the control panel, heating element, convection fan, and door seal. Finally, the liner split and the range became unrepairable. We made the mistake of purchasing a simpler, gas-only range because Dacor offered a modest discount. This $7000 range lasted four months before a failure in the wiring harness made it unrepairable!! We bought a Miele replacement. We have had performance issues with our Dacor warming drawer and microwave. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING DACOR!!!

We had our range oven for less than a year and the front electric panel cracked, there is no stress to this area. I called the company and they admitted the entire panel was defaulty and had a recall. They did replace it. Within 5 months the new one cracked in the same place. This time they stated the unit was out of warranty. I told them the same type of recalled panel was installed. They said I could buy a new one. Ha! Since then many more cracks. I will never buy anything made with the Decor brand nor do I recommend them! Happy shopping.

We purchased a Dacor dual fuel oven range in 2008 in conjunction with an extensive kitchen remodel. It was beautiful and expensive. It has had innumerable problems. 2008: One of the igniters broke requiring replacement. 2014: oven stopped working, required new relay board. June 2020: Relay board again broke, oven stopped working. December 2020: Oven stopped working, heating element broke. These were serious problems each resulting in 1-2 months without an oven as the parts had to be special ordered. We have not had an oven since December 2020 (it is now March 2021). We are waiting for a replacement part. In addition, minor problems included a broken indicator light and burner grating. Dacor customer service was only moderately helpful, referring us to local repair companies that had difficulty obtaining parts. Dacor has told us that this should last decades but we are seriously considering replacing it after 12 years because it is very unreliable. I would not recommend a Dacor based on our experience.

We got a U43 relay error on our Dacor oven of 4 years. When we finally add up the cost to replace the part, it will exceed $500 and Dacors only response is, Sorry, it is out of warranty. Of course I do not understand why a relay board on an oven would short out after a few years. Not happy and would not recommend the manufacturer.

The Dacor ‘duel fuel’ ranger was $5,500, We have propone, and Dacor’s set up is for natural gas, so all the pots and pans got lots of dark residual. I wrote and called them many times, to no avail. The electronics on the first two induction burners failed within six months which was covered under warranty. The second two went three weeks after the warranty and we had to argue with Dacor to cover them otherwise it is a $1400 repair job. From day one whenever you open the oven door the controls and heat shut off. Sometimes it turns back on when you close the door. As for the downdraft, it worked fine until 10 weeks ago when while closing, the cover lip hit a wooden spoon that had been lying flat near the edge. There is no safety feature and the motor continued to try and close the fan. The unit would not respond and would not re-open. The spoon had to be broken to get it out. If this was a childs finger you would have had to call 911. We now have a repair bill of over $350 and are still waiting for 2 months for Dacor to send a part. We will never buy this brand again.

My Decor Epicurian oven and range has been a nightmare from day one. I have had the oven for about 8 years and had it repaired so many times I have lost count and had spent at least $2000 on repairs. We have experienced motherboard burn out, membrane failure, temperature control malfunctions, error messages that cause incessant beeping. Nearly all of the problems that have been described in this list of complaints, I have had the problems themselves multiple times! Now, I am panicking a bit because I decided to use the self clean function on my oven this morning and now, I have read some sad malfunction stories following the use of this feature. I am so torn about whether I should just cancel the cleaning process. I do not want to risk having the oven malfunction again, but the thing really needs to be cleaned.

I called the customer service number regarding my double oven. It just randomly beeps and now turns off. No error code displayed. It has done this on and off since 2003. Now it is happening all the time. I called customer service and they seemed to act like it is my fault and I need a new touch pad. I inquired and this is a recurring problem with this model. I could not get a straight answer from the person I was talking to. He just told me that if the repairman says I need a new touch pad, then I need to get one. Well I have been doing some research and this is a problem that seems to be haunting more people than I. We own a Dacor gas cooktop that has had to have a switch repaired. We own a microwave that has had two new circuit boards and now a beeping oven that gives no error code and turns off by itself. My advice, do not buy Dacor appliances.

We were incredibly disappointed, not only with the range but with the customer service from Dacor. We purchased this range in January 2016 and here we are in July with what is basically a pan holder sitting uselessly in our kitchen. Problems started immediately. The first time I used the oven, it locked with the cooking food inside. It turned out that the thermostats on both ovens were so out of whack that the oven temperature reached self-cleaning mode levels so the ovens locked with the food inside! We had both thermostats replaced twice and still had the same problem. Eventually, the thermostats were calibrated, but still within a range. In addition, the switch for the convection oven just stopped working. After 6 months of trying to deal with this problem, we will be returning the range and replacing it with a different brand. At no point did Dacor offer to exchange the range, they simply kept sending a repair person.

In August of 2005, I purchased a Dacor pro range. In December 2005, the control panel began to blink and lose display. Dacor gave me names of 2 authorized repair people. After several visits by a repairman, I phoned Dacor and was told to call a repairman. They obviously didnt listen to me! The repairman spoke with Dacor representative who responded that the display needed to be ‘rebooted just like a computer.’ Several times a month, I must go to the electric control panel in my basement to turn the breaker switch off and on in an effort to ‘reboot’. In September 2010, the display panel went dark and could not be ‘rebooted’. I had to replace to control the membrane at a cost of $530.69 plus $169 for labor and a service call. On Thanksgiving 2010, the ‘new’ display panel which was obviously defective, stopped working. Once again, a new membrane had to be ordered and installed incurring another service and labor charge! I sent a letter to Dacor wanting reimbursement of labor/service on original defective membrane and was advised that they warranty their products, not the service! It is now November 16, 2011 and I still must continuously ‘reboot’ the control panel! However, I spoke to an authorized Dacor repairman who told me that Dacor has had many complaints such as mine and now have a devise which attaches to the power cord and filters out the ‘noise’ from other household items which disrupts the control panel on my oven! Is there a reason why Dacor is keeping this a secret? Do they not want to make their consumers happy? I cant wait to be rid off this appliance and all association with the Dacor company!

From the beginning, August 1997, 17 years ago, I was not able to use my oven after self-cleaning. The problem was never resolved after countless service calls totaling over $1500. Aside from the cost, I was inconvenienced every time I cleaned my oven, as I was not able to use it until it was serviced, about a two week wait. I contacted Dacor early on and they reluctantly agreed to extend my warranty for a year. They did nothing beyond that, and my oven still shuts down after self-cleaning, which I hesitate to do at all, until it is beyond needing cleaning! The circuit board was replaced and recently the cooling fan was changed, but....no luck. Buying a new oven is not an alternative, as the oven performs well in every other way and I simply cannot afford one. I cannot believe a company of such status is not interested in satisfying its customers.

I completely gutted my kitchen on 2/22/92, and purchased a Dacor CPD230R double oven. Whenever I used the self-cleaning function the next day, F0 would appear. I would have to get a repairman to come to my house. This cost me a fortune. For one year, I just used the bottom oven. I finally called Dacor, and complained. I wrote a letter to Mr. **, and wanted satisfaction. They decided that I could purchase a new, better oven for $1,480.00. This was 1998, so in 6 years, I spent $3,680.00 for 2 ovens. After 5 years, I started having the same problems. Every time I used the self-cleaning function, F0 would appear. I just totaled my bills for the new, better oven, and I have spent $963.00 and it would be more, but I figured out, if I pressed cancel and held it, the F0 would disappear. So every time I used the oven, that is what I did. This would last for 8 months. The oven completely shut down, and I could not use the top or bottom. I just had a repairman here, and he said i need a new membrane assembly, and latch. They were supposed to call me with an estimate. They just called, and said the part is no longer available. This is upsetting. Reading the reviews, I see I am not alone in my dissatisfaction with the Dacor oven. Now, I will be redoing my kitchen.

January 2019 Service call now new door latch, relay board and main wire harness 4 figures again double! Oven stops working yesterday (June). Service call today new latch, motherboard and something else and another 4 figure repair cost. Same repair parts same problem! Patience is a virtue, but repair costs are sinful! Dacor double oven range turns off by itself while baking - Disappointed in Dacor, especially today. Thanksgiving 2016: baking turkey. Sill baking turkey. I dont know when the oven decided to switch off this time, but I have an uncooked turkey and guests waiting. The oven has done this before, but because it was new I thought it was user error. Nope, the damn oven mysteriously turns off on its own. Incredibly irritated with Dacor. The range hood we also purchased is a joke. We remodeled our kitchen 1 year ago and wanted quality appliances. Bad move. Save your money, folks. Save your money.UPDATED ON 03/10/2017: Dacor sent a company out to fix the broken new oven. Oven still cannot hold its temperature (It takes FOREVER to heat then loses its heat while still showing a high temp). This time I have a recording on what happens when the oven automatically switches off. Disappointing when we spent nearly $10,000 in Dacor appliances for a kitchen remodel. DACOR, please have a rep contact me!!! Still waiting to hear back!!!

We installed 2 Dacor wall ovens, a 5-burner cooktop, and a downdraft fan in 2000. The convection ovens bake perfectly and have performed without fail. After 7 to 8 years of daily use, we did have to replace the door hinge on the oven I use most often. We are in a rural area so the repairs are accomplished through Sears. The replacement parts arrived in a timely manner and the oven has worked perfectly since. The cooktop is easy to clean and the heat is even. The downdraft fan is effective and easy to clean. I would be confident to recommend Dacor products.

When I completely remodeled my kitchen 6 years ago, I actually went AGAINST the advice of my appliance dealer and kitchen designer and insisted on buying the Dacor 30 double convection wall oven. Id been longing for Dacor ovens for years and though they gently tried to steer me towards Miele or Electrolux, I dug in my heels. Ive regretted ever since. Since first use, my electronic display has not been without an error message. Every time I go to turn on the oven, theres a message telling me to clean the convection fan filter. I called Dacor and they told me to ignore it! It was a mistaken message. Still, I cleaned them repeatedly to no avail. The main electronic circuit board on the oven has gone out three times. They paid for it the first time because it was under warranty. The second time they sold me the part at a discount but I had to pay for the service call. Total cost to me: $480. The third time, I had to pay for everything myself. Total cost to me: $870. They told me its because I broiled with the door open. I have NEVER broiled with the door open! The inside lights go on and off randomly. The temperature probe has NEVER worked properly. Last week, I was preheating the oven to bake some cookies and an alarm went off giving me a cooling fan error message. The oven turned off and I cant get it to turn back on. I called Dacor customer service twice so far and the first time they told me they would research the issue and call me back. They NEVER CALLED. I called again and they told me they could ship me the part and I could pay for the service call. The lower oven is currently working so I havent done anything yet, but the oven originally cost me well over $5,000. I have put another $1,300 into it. Im not about to spend another $500-$600 on this complete waste of money. Bottom Line: Dacor sells junk for exorbitant prices and refuses to stand behind their products. I was an idiot to fall for the Only True Convection Oven in the market line. Im buying a Miele or a GE to replace.

I did report that to the company and to the US Product Safety Commission. We have not abused any of these appliances and have followed the manufacturer recommendations all of the time. Like many of you on this site, when we remodeled our kitchen in 2000, I researched and decided to shell out the extra money for the highly recommended and higher priced Dacor everything. We got a double oven, glass 30 cooktop and an exhaust fan. 12+ years later, I wish I had bought GE! My ovens have had so many problems I cant even count. Basically, the temperature doesnt hold correctly. I have used oven thermometers and my husbands fancy gauge to check temp. I had a whole transformer and control panel changed out in hopes that it would correct the problem, but it didnt. I think it has something to do with the self-cleaning. I think it gets so hot that it fries the controller. I never use the broiler so its not like I left the door open and wasnt supposed to. This afternoon I set the oven to preheat to 350. I set my little cakes inside that I was making with my grandson. About 5 minutes later, it smelled like something was burning so I checked the little cakes. They were already charring on top and then I noticed that the top element was fiery red, basically on broil! What the heck?! This is ridiculous! Im not going to spend another $500 for another repair! I am waiting to see what the repairman says.On another note, my stovetop cracked twice! The last time, Dacor was nice enough to sell one to me at cost and my husband was able to install it. It didnt match the old one and I was told by Dacor that they dont make them anymore and that is made by a third party supplier now. The old one had a textured finish and this one is just very shiny and scratches so easily! I hate it. We also had a retractable exhaust fan put in because the stovetop is in an island. Every time I turn it on, my basement smells like whatever is cooking. Now the buttons dont work anymore. That is unless I jab them so hard with a sharp object that it finally makes enough contact to work! This is another part that we got at cost that my husband had to crawl around and repair that still doesnt work. So, all three Dacor appliances we bought have turned out to be very disappointing purchases. Dacor should stand behind their products better, offer longer warranties or better yet, build better products! I would never recommend these products to anyone!

We have 3 Dacor appliances that we purchased new when we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago. Our cooktop’s igniter continually clicks even when it is not in the light position. This only happens on the front 2 burners (the back 3 are fine). We have cleaned the unit and cleaned the igniters over and over. We have had 2 authorized Dacor service companies and another company look at our unit. Two said no fix exists; the other replaced a part after talking to Dacor and that did not fix it. When I called Dacor, they noted to get another service company and call them when they are here. I am concerned that this again will not work and I will have to pay another service fee. When they were here I asked them to replace a light in our double oven, but they noted they would have to remove the oven from the wall to do that and it would be costly, to which I said no thanks. Is it true that the oven has to be removed to replace a light? Another issue is that our double wall oven’s upper unit only gets warm to about 200 degrees. Another issue is that the microwave door open button does not move the door, we have to push it and pull the door open by hand. I have turned to Dacor service and to our local service techs and we are at our wits’ end. Any help here?

We purchased a Dacor Double Wall Oven in late November of 2019. I liked the oven and it functioned well until October of 2020 when the oven quit working due to a control panel issue. We were told the part was on back order. I continued to check with Dacor customer service and was continually told the same thing -- it was on back order. Never once did they call me to give me an update. In December of 2020 when I called I was told there was an update. The part was no longer on back order it was no longer in production, they no longer make the part. They would review the file to see if they were going to give me credit for the oven or get me a new oven. I contacted them again today and was told it was still under review and it could take them another couple of weeks to decide what to do. I asked to speak with a supervisor but was told that there was not one available. The person I spoke with today said that she would call me next week to give me an update. I appreciate her concern but that does not get me closer to a working oven. I would not recommend Dacor to anyone, customer service is terrible.

Purchased a Dacor freezer. Freezer does not come with outer panel. Understandably, because you can choose to put your own custom panel on or order one from Dacor. Found out Dacor was bought by Samsung, a few years ago. So I decided to order a Stainless steel door from Dacor. One of Dacors reps suggested I order from J@J international. I placed order and two days later they called back saying they cannot ship door to me UPS nor FedEx will ship it. They refunded my money, so I reordered from someone else. Got ss panel toe kick and handle. Opened box only to find out no hardware, brackets ss trim for sides screws and so forth. I assumed mounting hardware would be with door. So began the part search for parts. Come to find out Samsung changed Dacors part #s. Vendors who sell the parts could not come up with parts or told me not available. Reliable parts agent told me this. I was told they should have come with freezer. Meanwhile called back Dacor to someone who specializes in dealing with these issues. She took over 45 minutes of my time giving me the impression she was gonna resolve the issue. She finally said we have the parts and inferred that I must have not talked to reliable parts. I assured her I did. She continued to refute what I told her. I have been right at two months trying to get freezer door installed. I called an Appliance dealer in Salisbury Md. to get assistance. He told me when Samsung bought Dacor he dropped line. I now see why. It has been the worst experience I have had with a company that has absolutely done nothing but appear to be concerned and say they are sorry but do nothing. It looks like it will be another 750.00 to get a couple little trims and brackets and a few screws. If I had it to do over I would never have gone down this road. This has been a two month old nightmare that is still going on. Best advice I can give is steer clear of Dacor/Samsung. Was going to buy matching column refrigerator. Not now.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2006. I spent a fortune on a Dacor dual fuel gas cooktop with electric oven/convection oven. My Dacor problems seem so normal I mostly deal with it. My 2 biggest complaints are the glass oven door is not airtight, it is darkened between glass, very hard to monitor my baking. And the temp gauge has always been off by 15-25 degrees. I use an in oven temp gauge, which has been calibrated so I know it works. If anyone is planning on a Dacor, you will get the best looking range. It just wont work.

We bought our Dacor 30” gas range in September of last year. We were tired of cheap stoves that lasted 5 years before they needed to be relegated to a landfill. We thought it was an investment that would provide us with a reliable appliance and worst case scenario, better warranty repair service than Home Depot or other big box store. After 15 months, the igniter for the oven stopped working. We tried the 800 number on the warranty registration website and no one there could bring up our registration, even though I could see it on the website. They gave me an email address to contact the people who could look it up and I heard nothing for two days. I called the 800 number again and they transferred me to another number and they finally found our warranty registration and issued a ticket for the repair. The company they use for warranty work in Toronto, is Home Appliance Repair GTA and they are absolutely horrible. They said they ordered the part on November 27, but they did not actually order it until December 6th. Dacor then sent the wrong part! I demanded that they send the proper part overnight and on December 13th they called and left a voicemail saying that the part would be here by today at the latest. It did not arrive and this evening I emailed them again and their response was that the part would be here on December 19th. How does it take a week in this day and age to deliver anything? I don’t believe that I will even have a functional oven for Christmas this year. I have already given up on any baking getting done. I will never buy a Dacor product again. I actually really love my stove, but I am beyond disappointed with their warranty service and customer care.

We purchased a 4-door Dacor refrigerator for our new home. The appliance was delivered in March but we did not move in until mid-June. We have had one week of the ice maker working. Since then, (8 weeks now) we have been trying to get Dacor to replace or repair the refrigerator and to date nothing. Now the refrigerator is releasing water all over the kitchen floor (the ice maker is turned off) so we have to keep a towel on the floor. We have asked Dacor to replace the refrigerator but they are refusing to do so.

Purchased a Dacor Epicure ER36DSCH/NG RANGE and oven in 2007. Sad story, it never worked properly since day 1. Initially a gas burner did not light, they came and repaired it. Subsequently the door lock failed in the lock position - had that repaired. The door lock failed the next year again, this time thanksgiving, ruined the dinner. They fixed it but the following year the lower burner element failed at Thanksgiving. All my relatives know not to purchase a Dacor product. Problem is I am stuck with this boat anchor. The oven door motor has failed 3 more times and thankfully the service man showed me how to change it. Today we tried to bake some apple pies and found the oven temperature set at 450 was only 350 (bought an oven thermometer). This explains why it always takes so long to bake things. A complete piece of **, never ever buy one.

I purchased DACOR built in 30 separate side by side freezer & refrigerator on Jan. 18th 2019. After installation (Jan. 31st) a few days later the food and shelves in the freezer started getting a build up of ice. I called to have my freezer looked at and they gave me a service call of Feb. 7th the soonest a Dacor Rep could make it. The Dacor Rep determined that the freezer door was not sealing properly. The rep from Dacor adjusted the door and said the freezer should be fine. It was not. The ice continued build up on my food/shelves. I was instructed to call if I had any further problems. I made several calls starting on Feb. 9th to Dacor customer service, and, Dacor Service Rep. No one called me back. I left messages, I even text the service rep as he told me to do if I had any problems. I also sent pictures via text to him. No call back from anyone! It took me several days to get someone on the phone to find out what could be done with the freezer and why it was icing up. On Feb.13th I spoke to a customer service rep in the corporate office. He asked me to email him pictures of the inside of my freezer which I did. I never heard back from him. No call, no return email, they just don’t acknowledge any voicemail, or even emails. March 7th another customer service rep, she said a new door was being ordered to replace the one I have now, as they decided it was damaged during shipment. She also told me that her service rep recommended I push on the top corner of the freezer door each time I closed it and to keep defrosting the freezer. Why after paying this kind of money am I told to “defrost” my freezer?Fast forward to May and my ice maker stopped making ice… Since this purchase most of the food had freezer burn. I had to pushed on the door as Customer Service suggested as a solution while I wait for them to install a new door or fix the one on it.. I had to throw out about $600 worth of food. In the end I returned the Dacor refrigerator and freezer. The customer service from Dacor is beyond poor. I wished I had read other reviews on this company and their products before I made such a larger purchase. Please do your research before you spend money with Dacor. The company, Monarch Premium Appliances I purchased the Dacor appliances through exchanged them for me. I can’t say enough good things about Monarch and their employees. Both the company and my salesperson, ended up taking a loss in order to make the exchange! Dacor would not allow them to return the appliance. That is just unacceptable. Why should the company carrying their brand be made to take a loss??? Shame on Dacor for that!

I bought a Dacor Epicure 48 range in 2003. It has never worked correctly. I read many other complaints on this same range. I had the burners replaced and I still have to light them with a match each time I turn them on. The oven temperatures were never correct. Nothing bakes properly even following their directions. It bakes very uneven. The hinges are sprung/broken (as the doors are too heavy for the lightweight hinge they use). My wife and I purchased a new Dacor dishwasher, new Dacor range and new Dacor microwave oven. Unfortunately, the dishwasher never worked and were now going through the process of getting the unit repaired. A repair technician was sent out and discovered a new CPU was needed. Then once the CPU was installed, a new circulatory pump was needed. And finally, once the circulatory pump can in, the unit still doesnt work. Weve had the technician in four separate times (installation, tech inspection, CPU install, and circulatory install) and each visit is approximately one week between visits. Yes, were now going on four weeks without a dishwasher that we paid for. Beyond that, someone needs to be home each time they visit. So now Im without a dishwasher for four weeks and I have to take four days off of work so a technician cannot fix my dishwasher. When I called Dacor customer service and asked for a temporary unit until mine is fixed, they simply stated we dont do that. Dacor may be a premium appliance manufacturer but they do not have a premium customer service department. So buyer beware, if your unit has any problems Dacor will not rush, hurry or try to accommodate you. Im sure the unit will eventually get fixed but after a month of waiting, I believe Ive earned the right to warn others about Dacors business practices. We purchased the unit from Pacific Sales in Corona, CA. When we asked Pacific Sales for assistance they said it was a Dacor issue and refused to assist us. We purchased this oven February 2009. On 6/7/11, we had to replace the touch pad assembly. On 12/16/13, we again had to replace the touch pad assembly with a cost of repair to this point of over $900.00. The over cost $2,395.00 when purchased. On 3/16/14, while on convection/bake the oven switched over to broil. On 3/20/14, a repairman came to the house. The condition did not replicate but the repairman, in conversation with Dacor, determined that the fix, if this should happen again, would require the replacement of the relay board and ERC control at a cost of $700.00. On 3/27/14, while on convection/bake, the oven switched over to broil. I called Dacor and was forced to leave a message.

This is a follow-up to my initial complaint, which was posted on November 28, 2011, and an updated posting on December 27, concerning problems with our Dacor range. What we learned was that the local appliance shop that services Dacor quit working on Dacor appliances, so we were left with no repair company. We were contacted by the customer service representative from Dacor, who has been very diligent in working with us to find a solution.Yesterday, the Dacor regional service supervisor from Washington came to Casper to work on our oven, which is now totally functional. Pretty amazing customer service! He did share with us Dacors challenges in getting qualified local service companies, especially in smaller towns. I applaud Dacor for going the extra mile (1,000+ miles, to be more accurate) for us.

I purchased a Dacor double wall oven in May 2011 at a reduced price from a secondary market. Due to cosmetic defects, it wasnt sold by an authorized Dacor dealer. I bought it at what I thought was a fair price, considering the cosmetic defects. When our home was completed in November 2011, we installed the oven but found the oven would not heat up to the set temperature. I was told by the company I bought it from that it would be eligible to be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I called Dacor and was told that since I didnt buy it from an authorized dealer, they would not cover it under their warranty even though I had it under one year. Since I had to give Dacor the serial number when I called it in, they now have a permanent record to that end. I have had no oven because I cannot pay to have it repaired.

We moved into our home in 2012 and have had nothing but problems with our Dacor refrigerator (Dacor Model EF48DCBSS). Our issue is the drain pan heater AGAIN. This problem is, water that collects in the drain pan freezes and eventually builds up to a point where the fan motor starts hitting it, sounding like a helicopter landing in your kitchen! Weve had this problem repaired THREE times by TWO DIFFERENT repair companies to the tune of $1000. Both repair technicians said it was a design flaw and this problem would continue to happen regardless of how many icing kits were replaced. So a $7000 refrigerator will cost us $1000 a year to keep running?!?!?! After much research, its apparent we are not alone with this problem. We also had a Dacor microwave just STOP working (model #DMT2420S). It was only 8 years old. Our Dacor oven range (model #ER48DSCH) has two ovens and only one side retains the heat. The main side gets to about 300 degrees and then the temperature starts dropping. Here is the breakdown of costs for our so called high end appliances. Dual Fuel Range - $10000, refrigerator - $7000 (annual repairs of $1000), microwave - $500 (had to purchase new microwave $600). PLEASE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE AND DO NOT PURCHASE DACOR APPLIANCES. We have a refrigerator/freezer that we bought from Sears SIXTEEN years ago for $500. Still works like a charm! And thank God we have it, because it has had to be our backup for our $7000 Dacor.

We remodeled our kitchen less than 5 years ago. As we have owned restaurants in the past, we wanted commercial quality appliances. I was looking at Sub-Zero and Viking or Wolf. Unfortunately I took my Home Center convince me to purchase A Dacor package. That was a mistake. Even though these appliances cost as much as the those brands, the quality is not even close. After spending $22,000 on appliances I have quickly discovered that these appliances are junk. First the microwave began to arc and nearly caught fire. Even when they installed my cooktop. I noticed that the burners in the middle were marked incorrectly and the blue LED indicating the burners are on was burnt out. After only a few years, now my ovens are not working. And right before Thanksgiving I am without ovens. My old ovens were almost 50 years old and worked fine. These $6000 plus ovens are not even 5 years old and are down. I am kicking myself for not going with my original plan. If you are considering Dacor, I would not recommend.

We were having issues with our microwave not working consistently, after several service visits, not under warranty, we now are told it will cost over $600 for the part. We are now looking for another brand of microwave instead of fixing the Dacor. On a side note the rings for our Dacor gas cooktop never come clean no matter how hard you try. I purchased entire kitchen of Dacor appliances - $30,000. The 48 refrigerator required 9 service calls to stop freeze up. Wall oven – the digital panel went bad. The most recent service call was yesterday, 12/20/2011. After waiting since November, it is again not working. I have a 4 year old Dacor Renaissance 36 in gas range. The thermostat is broken, the self-clean cycle doesnt work due to a broken lock and the oven indicator light stopped working about 2 years ago. Pros: It is an attractive oven with the knobs that light up blue when on and the burners all work fine but that is it! The technician told me ALL parts I need are on backorder due to Dacor being bought out by Samsung 2 years ago and COVID related delays. He also told me there is no ETA on those parts and said it could be an unknown amount of months. So now I dont have an oven for an unknown amount of time. This is unacceptable. I was sharing my frustrations with a friend who recommended I post this on Dacor Applicances Facebook page. He thought I would get an immediate helpful response. So I did. It was taken down not more than 3 minutes after it was posted! They never even reached out. Pretty poor company service. I will never buy Dacor anything again. Even when the oven was working ok - it never kept good heat and the self-clean cycle never cleaned well - there was lots of grease residue left behind. This is a poor quality company all around. When we recently remodeled our kitchen, we replaced our Dacor double ovens
When we recently remodeled our kitchen, we replaced our Dacor double ovens that we had had for 15 years. These were great ovens and not one problem with fairly heavy use, so we bought the Dacor Modernist double ovens. The ovens are usable, but they are the worst engineered product I have ever experienced. First, there is no clock on the stove because as I was told the clock would etch the screen if it was on 24 hours a day. Second, the sound the timer makes is so soft, even on the loudest setting, cannot be heard in any room but the kitchen, so I paid a premium price to carry a timer with me, so I know when my oven is done baking. Third, if I turn the oven light on, the timer either stops completely, or it resets to the original time. Fourth, the oven buzzes when it is cooking. Fifth the user manual is useless and there is no video or online information on how to use this oven that is not user friendly. Finally, I have talked to Dacor and have had the repair person here, but he knew nothing about this oven. I am sorry every time that I use this oven that I did not buy my other choice, which was the Woof double ovens, but we thought this would be wonderful product, like the wonderful product that our previous ovens were. We also thought Dacor was a family company, but is now owned by Samsung. What a disappoint these ovens have been. The engineering for this product is a disgrace for any company and I no longer see the Modernist products advertised and it may be because it is such a poorly designed product. I never met a computer that I did not love, but this is not the electronic wonder that was advertised when we bought the ovens.

Dacor dual fuel 30 inch range - First of all the look of the dacor is second to none in my opinion. The digital screen with blue lighting makes this a truly elegant part of any kitchen..... when it works. The range top itself worked flawlessly for me and the main burner was always more than enough. The problem with the range lies in the electronics. The unit has been in my home for over a year and has worked for less than a month total. An error code appeared when ever the oven gets hot. C33, C1, 0000, 1111, C11. Ive seen it all. I have had the main board replaced twice and my local repairman is on first name basis with even my dogs at this point. The final straw for me was when the oven door glass shattered while cooking and when dacor was contacted they said that happens. Im think Ill try Viking.....

I bought a Dacor dual-fuel range in 2002 for my new house. Within 18 months, the control panel on the front had shorted, causing the stove to emit a continuous beeping. I got this repaired, and was advised that I should not use liquid cleaners on the stove! Two years later, the same thing happened again. Finally, about 4 years ago, another fault developed in the 3rd control panel, the circuit controlling the oven lights will not respond to touch, and the oven lights switch on and off continuously. Not prepared to pay for yet another control panel replacement, I switched off the power to the stove at the main fuse box. I have continued to use the gas cooktop only, lighting it with an ignition wand. The Dacor stove is only part-functional due to what is obviously a severe design fault in the front touch control panel, which causes the panel to short. I switch on the power to the unit twice a year to use the oven at Thanksgiving and Christmas for large roasts. This stove was a very expensive mistake. Luckily, I have a second (Wolf) oven in my kitchen, which I use instead for everyday cooking.

We now have to rebuild part of the kitchen cabinetry and spend several thousand to replace two warming drawers? They also said the company was too small to keep parts available for a long period of time. Unbelievable! I will never buy Dacor appliances again.

In 2008 I had the luxury of choosing kitchen appliances for our new home. I looked at them all and felt Dacor was the best choice. Choosing Dacor for our kitchen was the worst mistake I have made in kitchen appliances in any house in which I have lived (and there have been quite a few). The oven (48 dual fuel range) didnt work from day one. There was a problem with the temperature control. The oven would not shut off when it reached the desired temperature. Disappointing, but I told myself that sometimes things can go wrong and it should be an easy fix. Well, many service calls later and several re-wires of the unit, along with the installation of many new parts, the range still does not perform as well as the worst oven I have ever had. There is a tool that comes with the range that is used for taking the top off the unit to access the wires. My range was taken apart so many times that the tool wore out and had to be replaced. The front piece of the range no longer fits flush with the rest of the range. On one of our last service calls, I was told by the serviceman that Dacor said that under no circumstances would they consider replacement of my obviously faulty, beyond repair range. Eventually I got tired of repeated service calls. Sometimes servicemen would come out and say they didnt know how to fix it and leave. I would not expect such poor customer service from an entry level company. From a company touting themselves as a manufacturer of top of the line products, I would expect a greater desire to stand behind their products. The oven still does not work well. On convection bake, I must turn cookie sheets around or I will have doughy cookies on the same sheet as burned cookies. And forget using the convection setting to bake 2 sheets of cookies at once - it takes longer than baking them separately. I wish I could attach a picture! I also chose a Dacor microwave and refrigerator. One of the salesmen I spoke with about refrigerators said to make sure the unit we select did not have air transfer between the refrigerator and freezer, and the Dacor model did not do this. Well, when my 48 side-by-side arrived, it had the air transfer. I was disappointed but chose to live with it. Of greater concern to me is the noise the unit makes at times - sometimes loud enough I can hear it in other rooms of the house. I have not bothered to call for service. Im not interested in another fight to get Dacor to stand behind their poor quality overpriced products. At this point, I have no expectation of Dacor standing behind their products. I just want to share my experience with others who may be in the same situation I was - designing their dream kitchen - and save them the regret and continual disappointment in their Dacor products.

We bought a 36 inch Dacor range with oven last year, around September, when we moved in to our new house. We tried to turn the oven on Thanksgiving day for 10 people, but it would not work. We called for service, and they replaced the circuit board. The repairman turned the oven on, and it worked fine. We never used the oven, just the burners on top, because we have a second smaller oven, we like to use for every day cooking. Then came Christmas day, and we were having 30 people over, so we went to turn on the Dacor oven, but to our horror, it did not work again. We have owned this oven for a little over a year, and have tried to use it only twice. In that time, both on holidays, with a lot of people to feed. This time, when I called for service, they told me I will be charged $198, because when they tried to get Dacor to drop that charge, they said no. We are very disappointed in Dacor for not caring more about the customer.

I moved into a house that already had a Dacor unit in place. Within months, I discovered that I owned an oven that could be fixed by throwing the circuit breaker. Then, I learned about invisible hands that turned the 325 degree convection oven to a 500 degree broiler. The final act was having all three glass panes shatter and the control panel cracking as punishment for assuming that the oven cleaner on an expensive gourmet stove would function according to manufacturing standards. The repairman ordered replacement parts. He spoke with someone who was off shore so forget about Dacor being all American made. The wrong parts were sent. He has reordered. Meanwhile, I have been without an oven for two months. If this goes on, I am going to Home Depot and buying a Hotpoint or GE. It is the same price as replacement glass panels and the control panel.
