We went to Best Buy and saw Viking there. We chose them based on what we saw and the recommendation of the salesperson and then compared the burners and the size that we had and that’s why we purchased it. When we first got this stove in, a piece of sealing in the oven door between the glass was loose and we had to wait for that to get replaced. There was a dent in the bottom frame. Viking wouldn’t automatically replace the stove outright. They wanted to send some service guy over and it took almost six weeks to get that taken care of. Also, the oven door does not stay shut when you use the oven. It hasn’t even been a year and now we have the issue with the oven door just popping open in between when we’re cooking. We’ve got us a service guy coming on Monday, but would prefer to have that stove completely replaced given the fact that we’ve got two service calls on the warranty.Viking keeps telling me that there’s nothing they can do and I have to call the authorized service people. Ive called their headquarters to find the name of the authorized service people, and they said even though within a number of days of purchasing, if it arrives in my house, they wouldn’t replace it which I don’t understand. Other manufacturers do it automatically. When I had issues with Sears, Id call them up and theyd give me a replacement. We would not recommend Viking based on whats going on now.

My sister has a Viking range and Ive cooked on it. For the quality that I know of a Viking, I got myself one, too. I went to PC Richard and they were great to the point where I also got a Viking microwave and a wine fridge. I love pretty much everything about my range including its look and the evenness of the burners. Its easy to dictate the temperature. The oven is also easy to use. Everything so far is good.

We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest.
We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest. We liked Vikings reputation and some of our friends have Viking appliances as well. My whole experience started off with one dealer. When I went in there, I gave them a deposit but I ended up canceling that because the woman that I was dealing with didn’t know the product line at all. So, I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So, knowing what I wanted, I then reached out to a dealer on Long Island and everything at that point was done across the phone. And the girl that I dealt with did an excellent job for us. So we purchased the 48-in range, the dishwasher and below the counter microwave. And I was really happy with that as far as the coordination and delivery of the equipment. I’ve also spoken to Viking directly done in Mississippi a couple of times and they were helpful. I had a couple of questions and in the middle of everything, there was a model change going on. called them and said all right, tell me the differences between what I had ordered and what I’m going to receive and they did a good job of explaining the difference there. When I had the issue with the dented panel on the dishwasher, they turned it over to a third-party and I was hoping that they could address the issue sooner than later, but it was a smaller organization. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get them out to the house but when they came, they were spot on and did an excellent job. So, while I had to wait longer than I would have liked, I was happy with what they did.It was interesting because one of my friends has not had a good experience with Viking around the range and parts. But I didn’t allow that to bother me because I don’t know how much of it was them or how much of it was Viking. There are always two sides to every story. So, even hearing the horror stories that they had to tell, I am pleased with what we did and I’d be happy to recommend Viking to anyone so far.

However, I didn’t like the way they treated me at the Viking dealership. I’ve been using Viking for many years. The dealer was great and I had a pleasant experience. I have their range, hood and dishwasher. I like the overall quality of the range. I like that you have so much control over the gas. You can go very low and very high. Its also beautiful, very simple and masculine, and that’s what I love about it. I’m very happy with Viking.

We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

We purchased ours about two years ago, but it has only been installed for about six months. There was an issue where the company we bought it from didnt deliver several components for the stove, and we didnt realize it until well after it was purchased. They couldnt do anything to help us. It was difficult to get in touch with the Viking parts department and identify what the correct pieces were that we needed to order to fully install the stove. But the stove served us well since weve gotten the parts we needed and had it installed.

The first problem I had with my range is the oven taking forever to preheat. Then an incessant clicking began on the burners. I was lucky enough to purchase a repair contract for $65.00 for a year. They fixed the oven preheating problem and also fixed the clicking problem, but now it has began again. It is so annoying. My burners do work, but I want to scream sometimes when I am trying to use all of the burners.

Bought a brand new Viking two door, one drawer bottom freezer fridge. After a while the icemaker quit. They sent a tech. They told me they needed all sorts of parts from Viking. Then I got a call from Viking. Your fridge has been discontinued! Less than a year after coming onto the market. They told us they would send us a new fridge. We got the new fridge on 1 Sept 2014. Just before Christmas, the icemaker went out on this model. The tech called three different techs including Viking because he cant get the icemaker out of the fridge. The line frozen, too. I have to agree with everyone else here. Viking sucks and I have a full Viking kitchen that I wish I could afford to replace them all!

We are renovating and so there was a refrigerator, washing machine, microwave and two other items that all had matching faces, so we decided to go with that. Viking is a well-known name in the industry and their range was the highest and top of the line range we can use without a direct overhead exhaust. However, we didnt have a good experience with it. Every time the exhaust fan came on, it vibrated and made a terrible noise. It was intolerable. Their service guy said it wasnt leveled but it was leveled fine when it was installed. Nobody could figure out why it was making the noise when the exhaust fan came on. I said, Obviously, somethings loose. Its vibrating. And it took them seven trips, two different service companies, to figure out what it was and it doesnt do it anymore. It was very frustrating on our behalf. Wed probably not buy their product again because of that. It was also delivered with a broken grate on top too. I had to go into the showroom and exchange it for the grate they had on the display. From day one, when it was delivered with a broken grate, right away I was upset. If I spent $500 or $1,200 for a range, Im okay. But it was $5,000 so Im expecting something to be worth $5,000, not a vibrating thing that was making noise. I have a service contract that I paid another $500 for so they have to come to me. It looks beautiful and it works great now, but the first year and a half was a disaster. And Im not quite sure how they fixed it and if its gonna hold up long enough. It was probably dropped or mishandled during its original shipment from its factory to its final destination that was why these problems came. Till today, its working fine, but Im not happy with the whole experience and would definitely not recommend it.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owners manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!

I have a friend who remodeled their kitchen five years ago, and they have Viking and the kitchen looks so chic and had clean lines. I went with a six-burner and a full range. The home that we purchased, we seriously upgraded the kitchen and there was a cooktop and a double-stack range which is not my style. I was raised with a one range and I liked the versatility that Viking provided with the 5 Series range that we have. I looked at others and its just the right size. The six pilots is perfect because theres more room to cook. The space in the conventional oven is large enough, both the top and the bottom, to heat up the turkey and also the casserole and the dressing at the same time. I have the Viking hood and the switch of the light that illuminates the oven range needs to be adjusted because the light blinks on and off. But so far, everything is great. Im very pleased.I have the whole set - the microwave drawer which is very sleek, the dishwasher, and the refrigerator. But we had a Samsung which had more space in it than we do in the Viking. Thats the only complaint. Were pleased with it. I compared it to other brands. And for what I was willing to pay, Viking fell right in the middle. It wasnt too much for me because, where we live and the upgrades that weve done to the home and the overall increase in value, I thought that the appliances should reflect the neighborhood. Its one of those things wherein that is a fixture that adds value to the house. Kitchens and bathrooms sell a home. And to walk into a kitchen, especially ours, from how it was when we purchased it, to have so many nice upgrades and one of the top of the line appliances, it added instant value to our home. That was the other reason why the whole package was worth it.

I am extremely frustrated with my viking appliances. We saved a long time to purchase the best I thought at the time to be viking. I purchased the microwave, dishwasher, and range. From the very first month I had nothing but problems!! I have never been able to use the stove. It had to be repaired from day one. Cant bake cookies - one side is done, the other burnt. What is sad is that I a have brand new stove and cant use it. Last Thanksgiving I had a half done turkey with 20 people waiting to eat dinner. This is after it was repaired for the 5th time. Now it is Thanksgiving again and I cant use my brand new stove and have to go rent one because my Stove is not working again. The repairman informed me that the part had to be back ordered. Are they Kidding!! With a company their size and how expensive their unusable appliances are, you would think they would have a little replacement part that they could fed-ex the next day especially when they know it is close to a holiday, especially Thanksgiving. The microwave didnt work either and had to be replaced and it still doesnt work, it continually kicks a breaker. We have lived in our house 20 years and never had a breaker problem with our old microwave. Also the knobs on the front of the stove are a fire hazard, if someone even brushes up against them they will turn on. Afraid for the kids.. I would like to take my overly expensive VIKING APPLIANCES that are nothing but junk straight to the city dump. I would NEVER purchase anything that is VIKING again!

We had our kitchen remodeled and our contractor recommended Viking Refrigerators. We went and looked at appliances and all different brands and we really like Vikings look and functionality. The price was also right. There’s a lot of great features, little things like it will beep if the door is open too long and its ability to program the temperature versus using a dial in older electronics. It has a really nice ice maker, too. The lighting is beautiful on the inside, it is bright. The quality of refrigeration is great. It keeps the vegetables and fruits cold in the compartment. Moreover, their guys at the dealer were great. They are knowledgeable and helpful. They gave lots of different options to look at. We’re very happy with Viking Refrigerators.

I’ve known about Viking for a while and I love their appliances. I went to a kitchen showroom in Concord and Viking had all the requirements that I wanted for my range. The burners today have different gas ranges on them and it drives me crazy. Theres a range for simmering, another one for boiling and then one for regular cooking. Viking is one of the very few appliance makers that has a range top that every burner has the same BTU capacity so I can cook on any burner I want. Also, Im only 54 and when I have a regular door on the top, I have to reach in. I had a double oven before and I burnt my arms a couple of times trying to reach in and get the stuff out. Viking has this double oven that I can open with one hand and both doors open. I was going for the complete functionality and that is why I chose Viking. My refrigerator is working well and keeps my Cokes cold. I like it. But I had to call Viking for a service because the icemaker wasnt working. It would turn on but it wouldnt make ice. The plug in the back for the condenser wasnt plugged in all the way. When it was installed, nobody caught it because it looked like it was plugged in and its not something I would see until I took the back off. The techs said it might have wiggled off a little during transit. There was also a spring that was not quite right on the freezer door but the techs came and fixed the issues. They are also changing a rheostat, a component in the hood, cause the light flickers and they have that on order. All in all, the Viking team is very professional and the techs were attentive and did a good job.

I was in a time crunch so I had to make a split-second decision, and I heard that Viking had pretty good reviews. This was the first range I got as a six-burner gas range and it was horrible. Whenever we would turn on the oven, it would make a loud banging noise like a gunshot in my house. The repairman came out and drilled holes in the bottom of my new unit. He said that would fix it because of the expansion of the heat heating up the metal. He did that and left, and afterwards it was worse than before. This was a $7,000 unit that was recommended by one of the Viking people. We went back and forth with Viking and they sent out a new one. The new one came after a couple of weeks of arguing, and the top was all scratched. The black part of the iron grates was peeling off. I opened the door and the door was bent. There was a quarter-inch gap you could see on the installation inside. I finally had them take it back again and I tried getting my money back. They didn’t reimburse me the whole thing for some reason, so I lost $800 on the deal. I went with a whole new different range. I would not recommend them and I would never purchase another Viking product.

When we bought the house, we requested for Viking appliances. We wanted to get the big 42-inch refrigerator but our realtor failed to tell us at the last minute that they ordered a 36-inch model instead. But even though its not the model I liked, I love its quality. The aesthetics, as far as the door hinges, doesn’t get in my way. It was well-thought out and well-engineered. I also like the option that the temperature is different in certain compartments. However, I dont like the freezer part. As far as the stovetop, we had a choice in that. We moved into our new house in 2006, which was custom-built with all-new Viking appliances, except for the dishwasher. We have had nothing but problems with all of the Viking products. The microwave has been repaired at least 4-5 times. Problems with the microwave are mainly due to faulty door hinges or faulty door latches that melt over time. The oven has had the digital circuit board replaced twice, and the door hinges, as well. The circuit board was replaced once under warranty; the second time not so lucky: we were out of warranty. The refrigerator has been the biggest problem. It is the 36 refrigerator, built in with side-by-side freezer/refrigerator design. The seal around the entire unit has cracked, and to repair it would mean taking apart the entire door. The ice maker continually fails with ice melting altogether, so you have to reach inside and get ice, but the ice container has cracked, making it difficult to pull the bin out. I should mention that the ice bin, which includes the metal coil to push the ice out, is $462. However, at the time, we may have to junk the whole refrigerator since it just went out for the 2nd time last weekend. The freezer is working but the refrigeration side is not.

Ive had my brand new Viking refrigerator since September 8 and it has been a lemon. It’s the third icemaker that’s been gone into it. The doors were supposed to come and before they could, the inside of the doors just started falling out of it. I had no icemaker during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. Weve been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working. This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday “Well, all refrigerators do that.” But my Sub-Zero didn’t. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but its not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was Ive had to ask for books to operate it. I called and told them I didn’t get any manual to work with me. They told me I can go online and print it out but it was 30 pages to print out.

BUYER BEWARE. They will NEVER replace a product that is brand new and doesnt work, they WILL keep sending repair people and order parts. Fact: Bought a new Viking refrigerator/freezer. Fact: Doors are cracked and freezer doesnt work, refrigerator freezing everything. Fact: Notified retailer, they sent two repair people to appraise, both said it should be replaced. Fact: Third repairperson finally told us what Viking wanted to say, which was it can be fixed if we replace the doors and thermostats.Vikings policy is they will NOT take back, even a brand new appliance, if they can replace all of the parts. Problem, parts have been on backorder so we have no freezer for 2 months and our refrigerator freezes our food. Viking did offer us $400 to buy another refrigerator until the parts finally come in. Where are we to put this, and where can I get one for $400 with installation? I have begged, literally, for them to replace it... I didnt ask for our money back, just replace with a quality item... They refused. I was better off with my other brands that were less money. I will NEVER EVER tell anyone to buy Viking. Honestly, it is a horrible situation.

Viking 36 inch refrigerator, as well as dishwasher, and range were installed in my new high-end condo over 4 years ago. Unit was very noisy. Viking told me that was normal for this unit. Had Viking authorized service tech out today to repair my 2 other Viking appliances (thats 3 out of 3 defective), and was told that refrigerator defective also. Despite reporting problem when unit was new, Viking refuses to offer repair under warranty. Customer service agent and supervisor both declined help and said I had no other recourse. Defective product, poor advice from corporate support initially, no ownership of problem from company despite Viking presenting itself as high-end company with quality products and service. Quality is lousy. Customer service and relations are lousy. Value is horrible.

We moved in our brand-new house in November around Thanksgiving and the Viking refrigerator was in it. Ive never had it working since Day One. In less than a year, I have lost everything twice in there. The ice and water dispenser have not worked and part of the problem was there was no local repairman. I went online and found the only authorized repairman in the state but he happened to be two hours away. I talked to him and he was nice enough but he was gonna charge an arm and a leg to come up here. He tried to talk me through it and gave me some instructions. It got better at least but it has been infuriating and I don’t know how to get it resolved other than to get the guy from Laurel to come and see about it.

Vikings reputation is certainly solid, and from looking at their reputation and their reviews, I thought that they might be the best one. I bought a Viking range from Nebraska Furniture Mart in Des Moines, Iowa six months ago. But it took a while before we got it as we waited for the installation. The installers did a good job though. We also had an issue with the unit but that was because we didnt read the directions as well as we shouldve had. We didnt clean the unit up first and we had a smelly oven. But they sorted it out for us and our interaction with the customer service team was good. That aside, the quality is excellent and overall, the Viking range performs much better than our previous one. Id certainly tell others to check Viking out.

Viking is a good product and it looks beautiful but the functionality is a big problem. I bought a high-end oven, thinking that it would be more efficient and Id be able to get better use out of it. Instead, Im having a problem with this brand-new and expensive oven thats over $5,000 after having it for less than two months. Ive bought a lot of different appliances in my time and Ive never run into a problem with an appliance immediately. I asked my husband to preheat the oven and he had to shut it off because it wasnt turning on and there was a gas smell in the house. Also, the microwave is a little weird. The fan has two speeds but it certainly sounds the same to me. I reached out to where I purchased the oven from and they sent somebody to service it.

We were looking for those high-end ranges and we looked at the model. We liked the self-closing feature the most and the other brand name didn’t have it, which was why we chose Viking. The quality of the range is not bad but it doesn’t have a lot of features. Compared to my old one, which is about $3,000, the Viking range doesn’t have a timer, a warm-up feature and a clock. We had an issue with it in the beginning but we asked for service and the guy fixed it for us, but I don’t know if it is a strong range. Also, once I roast or bake something, the grease spreads out and I have to clean the oven very hard every time. Mine is a 7 Series Viking Range and it doesn’t have self-cleaning, but my old one has that. Some repair people come with knowledge and some have different opinions. I did not buy the Viking refrigerator from the same dealer, so I did not register my refrigerator but they have a warranty for 10 years. The handle came off after less than a year of using the refrigerator and it did not come with any instruction to fix the handle but I figured out how to fix it. After I fixed it, we saw something wrong with the Viking Range. So, we asked the guy if they have a special tool for that or just a screw. He said no but I figured it out myself.

Got on this website to see if others have had issues with Viking Refrigerators. Our house came with a Viking Pro, but it had so many problems. Viking sold us a newer one at a discount. Now, the replacement is doing the same things - erratic temperatures, spoiling food, alarm goes off, constant calls for repairs (and expense) - such that we have not been able to use it for months. Thank God for an over 25 year old Hotpoint fridge that we have had in our garages in several homes across the country but has never has had a problem. I can see that others have had issues and while I am glad to learn that, I am at a loss as to why a company that once had, I thought, a good reputation, is not seriously concerned and doing something about it. Is the company going under?

I bought stove of my dreams in 1997 after waiting decades to be able to afford it. It is a Viking 6 burner/with griddle (which I wish I hadnt gotten), double gas ovens. Since day one the ovens smell like gas while on. I have to run my ventilator while the oven is on to keep the odor under control. I have had several repair men, always changing the igniters. The part is $16.00 on Amazon by the way. I pay a lot more than that! Anyway it has never fixed the problem. It makes me think twice about using the oven as I have to listen to the noise of the vent for hours if I choose to bake or roast anything. I am truly disappointed with this range and after reading all of the other reviews realize that Im not alone. I would never recommend any Viking product. I wish I had never gotten with this stove. My first choice was Wolfe, and I was talked out of it and into Viking!

My wife got a superb deal on the Viking range that we bought. It was an open box-deal and we got it for less than half the normal price. Also, I like the shape, it looks good and it goes with the industrial look that we wanted to put in out kitchen. And the reps answered the questions I had and gave me the answers I was looking for. But there are some things that I would have changed on the range if Ive known it, but we did not have much choice when we bought this thing. For example, its difficult to tell when the oven has reached a certain temperature. Theres a little blue light but it goes on and off anyway. So were going to have to invest in another thermometer so we know whats the right temperature. But Im satisfied with what the range does. Its a good product and it has a good reputation.

My house already had a couple of other Viking things. I was matching them, and I purchased a Viking refrigerator. I love it. Viking is known for the ovens, which are stainless steel and really sturdy. It can take a beating whereas I gotta be a little more careful with the fridge. I have three kids and if you have a kid, they should come with a handy man. These kids slam up around and they pull on doors too hard, and break stuff left and right. Stuff should really take a beating and be able to take a beating. We got the fridge four years ago. So its a good product. My Viking fridge looks great, and it matches. So, overall, it gives value to the kitchen in the house. I am happy with the purchase. Its not expensive, which is why Im glad. I dont mind paying more, if you call them and theyre really responsive like they were when something happened to it. An internal fan conked out, I called the retailers but they were not too helpful. When I called Viking, they were really helpful. So, if there will be an issue again, I would call Viking direct.

In 2006 I purchased a 36 4 burner with griddle range, the under counter dishwasher, the large Viking fridge and outdoor pit - all Viking. I strongly recommend staying away from all Viking appliances. I have been dissatisfied with every single one of these appliances! They are very expensive and I am now on a first name basis with my repairman. When I attempted to contact Viking, their customer service was beyond inept. They never ever returned my phone calls and when I reported this to the BBB, I finally got a response. After a long discussion, I was supposed to get a return phone call. Well 3 months went by, then 6, then 12. I reported it to the BBB again. So lo and behold, I got a phone call. Nothing was done. There was excuse after excuse. Regardless of money, there are better alternatives to Viking. Talk to your local appliance repair company and they will tell you who to look at and who to avoid. I promise that they will not recommend Viking. Proceed with caution.

I had had a Viking refrigerator in my old house and I loved it. When I moved into my new house, I didnt look into anything else. I wanted a Viking. I like the size of it, the way its a side-by-side opening door and its a refrigerator on top and the freezer at the bottom. I also like the dependability and it’s quite easy to operate. When the power goes out, its so easy to reset it.My experience with Ferguson which sold me the refrigerator was not great, though. I told the guy who delivered it, “The light in the freezer doesnt work. You shouldnt leave unless you can make it work.” He told me, Youre gonna have to call service for that.” I was not happy with that service but the service guy who came out was great. When moved into a brand-new house, our Viking refrigerator came with it together with a stove and dishwasher. I like the refrigerators big drawer thats underneath the space for vegetables and fruits. So far, we already had some huge part replaced on it which cost about $2,000. We called Viking about it and they gave us the repairman that they recommended. The repairman came out and the refrigerator got fixed a month ago. But I can hear the sound starting to build up again so Im a little concerned about that. Other than that, Ive had an awful experience with the dishwasher. It broke and it took almost three months to be replaced because they couldn’t fix it. So I went all the way through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a dishwasher. They finally replaced it by the end of November because they could never get the part in. As for the oven, as expensive as it is, we already had to have a $3,000 replacement part for it. That was done about two weeks ago but when I turned it on yesterday to cook dinner, the part’s already broken. So, I need to have a repairman come again and replace it or fix it again because it will turn on to 350 but it won’t change temperature. When the appliances are working, it’s great but when it doesn’t work, it is horrible. Viking doesn’t come to replace things and the quality of their products doesn’t hold up to what the expense is going to cost.

We purchased out Viking refrigerator at Atlantic Appliances and should have listened to the salesperson who told us it was really an AMANA refrigerator with a VIKING label on the door. He was insulting AMANA because this brand was worse! Not less than 2 months later, the top of the cold cut drawer snapped off. The produce drawers cracked shortly afterward. Obviously the interior was sub-optimal and did not live up to the Viking brand. Overtime, I realized that the storage is not practical either. I cannot fit all of my produce in those two tiny drawers, and the bottom freezer cannot hold a large turkey. Also, the freezer drawer does not come out enough so that you have to bend down and INTO the freezer. Finally the entire refrigerator crashed this weekend and we need to buy another, after owning it for 6 years. Went to SEARS and fell in love with a Kenmore french door... price 2000.00. Price of Viking 3560.00. Do the math! I will never purchase high end appliances again.

The Viking Range was installed in our home and it’s been very high-quality. My favorite feature is the even heating, baking, and the temperature control. We did have to have someone come and service it though. The issue was that one of the sensors for starting the oven was incorrectly tuned so it wouldn’t catch to start. We contacted a certified service provider that was in our area that we found using their tool on the website. The technician came and fixed that fairly easily. After multiple service calls to repair/replaced the igniters on our Viking Professional Range, we now keep a fire starter on the range top to ignite the burners. Two local service companies will not warranty either the Viking igniters or their repair/replacement because igniter parts are consistently defective if they are even available from Viking Parts. Viking Ranges will not return our calls. Nice range with chronically defective parts that are impossible to repair/replace. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

We like the pull out drawer for the soda and for the snacks of our Viking refrigerator because its big. But we had a lot of issues with the refrigerator that we got. We had some problems with the icemaker and with the inside of the refrigerator temperature being too cold where a lot of our food got frozen. It took about two months for the repair process to be completed from the time they came to look at it, to the time the parts came in and got installed. The icemaker’s fixed, but I’m yet to determine whether the actual inside of the refrigerator has been fixed or not. But the people from Viking have been great to work with. As far as the experience of getting the refrigerator fixed, the process was pretty seamless. But it would have been pretty nice if the parts were available in the technicians truck and ready for install.

Ive been holding off giving this review because I was hoping our problem with Viking is going to be resolved sooner than what we are experiencing. We have now occupied our home for almost 2 years and the warranty on these appliances will soon expire. Our builder installed the 7 series built in side by side refrigerator and freezer into our newly built home. The fridge started acting up 3 months into closing. It started with it not cooling, then the water dispenser not working. The freezer also quit working. Viking kept sending their contract maintenance and he kept ordering parts and installing them with the appliances still not working. There are so many dents inside this fridge it doesnt even look brand new anymore. Its preposterous for a supposedly a high end appliance in a brand new home over $500K. Ive had better appliances supposedly from lower end brands that performed way better than these Viking freezer and fridge. Finally this month, they replaced the refrigerator after having us go through unsafe food storage because the appliances werent working properly for months. Now the replacement fridge is convoluted with the freezer. The top part of the fridge is sticking out and the lower end of the fridge is pushed further than the freezer. Both appliances arent aligned properly. Its disgusting how a home of this value would have appliances installed so poorly. The installers even admitted that Viking should have replaced both appliances because the freezer is an older model. After the installers left, the freezer quit making ice again. We called Viking and of course, they will once again send the maintenance person who had been trying to fix these issues. DO NOT get a Viking fridge and freezer! Its absolutely disgusting how the customer service dealt with this problem without resolution until now. They should have replaced these appliances right away. I could purchase a pre-owned vehicle of the same price that would run better than these appliances.

I have a 60 professional quality Viking freestanding oven & range. Its never worked correctly - the oven fails with one or two uses, and this started within 24 months of original installation. Ive spent over $1,500 on repairs (Viking said it wasnt under warranty, though the warranty clearly states THREE YEARS) and it still doesnt work. The Viking authorized repairman told us this week Viking is not willing to take responsibility for their product and theyve suggested you have the oven wiring replaced at your cost....I am so frustrated with Vikings treatment of our customers that Im considering not working for them any longer. This is what I get for $9,000?

We went to Coffmans and we were looking for a new stove. We chose between Wolf and Viking and we settled on Viking because they were top of the line and their unit came with a dishwasher. Its a very high-quality range and its working very well. We like its induction-type heating, the convection cooking for the oven, as well as its low-profile appearance. The dealer was very nice and cooperative. We werent told about the free dishwasher and he helped us get that. However, my wife is complaining about it not having a timer. For $7000, its a feature thats really needed. Its also a little noisy.

I was expecting a little more from the Viking dealer and I thought they should be more knowledgeable, however, they were just average. Also, the refrigerator was overpriced, but it’s okay. One day, I looked at my refrigerator section and the temperature rose a little bit like 46 degrees. Then I looked at the freezer and it’s frozen and I didnt know why. I unplugged it for a day then restarted it. It’s okay for now and it’s been months since then. I tried to call customer support about the issue because there was warranty. I made a schedule but then I canceled it.

I went with Viking for their style and quality. However, the quality of the range that I bought from them is mediocre for what I paid. It cost $5,000 and it’s not really living up to it. The door is loose. It hasn’t worked properly and its slow to start sometimes. I had tried to rectify the door myself a few times and Viking did come out to rectify it. I called Viking and it was pretty good. I complained about the door and they were nice. But the dealers at Karl’s Appliance wasn’t so great. They’re sort of flakier. But I like the five burners. It’s the 30-inch stove. It fits the space. Those who come to my apartment love looking at it. They’re jealous. But that wasn’t what we were going for. We wanted a big stove/oven. Its the wider range, its freestanding. It gives you more capacity inside. It has three racks as opposed to just two. It would be better if Viking could extend the warranty. Mine’s good for like three years allegedly. And now, its only a year-long from what I hear which is sort of silly. Mine hit the cut-off date unless the seller offers included the warranty. My LG washer has a 10-year warranty. And it’s expensive to install and what have you. The result is expensive. This one is a $5,000 range and then, two, it’s expensive to just connect it and reconnect it with the new ones. Moreover, it would be better for it to have heat-resistant handles. When you’re cooking at a high temperature for a while, the knobs near the top front of the top of the space get really, really hot and they’re not supposed to. And the door is not supposed to get that hot, either. For instance, if youre cooking turkey for a long time. It takes three hours and it gets hot. They should work on that and get that fixed.

My wife and I have always wanted a professional level range. We considered Viking to be the best, especially for $5,000. Now were totally disillusioned!! First our dealer tried to fix the problems. When they couldnt, they turned us over to Viking and wouldnt come work on the range any more. Viking through their rep in Milwaukee visited us a couple of times and then stopped responding. The igniters have been replaced at least four times. One or more of them continues to fire for some seconds or minutes when turning on any burner. If the oven doesnt light on the first ignite youd better be right there to turn off the oven because on the second ignite the oven will blow up! Viking doesnt care. How they keep their reputation after reading all of the customer comments is beyond me. Id give them zero stars if it were possible. All we can say at this point is----STAY AWAY FROM VIKING!!!!!!

We have the Viking refrigerator for three years now and it is a good quality appliance. But I was surprised that within those years, there was some water leaking from the freezer and then the refrigerator was broken. But the Viking team was very helpful and someone came here and fixed it. Viking Professional Microwave VMOC205WH - Purchased this $1000 microwave as a Christmas gift for my wife in 2010. It replaced a 20 year old microwave (that still worked). Will not pop popcorn to this day. My wife noticed a place in back that looked like rust a couple of years ago. It has progressively gotten worse. I finally contacted Viking and told them that their stainless steel (inside) was rusting. I was given a Viking service center to contact. It had started sparking inside at rust occasionally. The tech came out and said he was not going to charge service charge because it was obviously a manufacturer defect. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust. He took photographers and turned in report to Viking. I called Viking and they said they needed photographs, to which I replied, the tech has already sent them. Approximately two months later, I received a call from tech service center (not Viking) that Viking was waiting for receipt. I contacted the store that I purchased the microwave and after much searching, found invoice and forwarded it to tech center who sent it to Viking. Their response was it was out of warranty. I had a 20 year old $200 microwave that performed well, yet this top of the line Professional unit didnt make it two years and then would not stand behind their product. Getting ready to replace stove and refrigerator. Guess which brand that will not be considered? Very disappointed. The place where I purchased unit said that Vikings service was horrible. I can certainly testify.

My husband did his research online about the stoves and he surprised me with a Viking for my 50th birthday. He bought it at Ferguson and had a wonderful experience with the saleswoman. He was told it was an updated version of the stove and it fit perfectly into our space. Were in a walk-up and the installation team, the two gentlemen that came and delivered, did a hell of a job. Everything went so smoothly. The stove is wonderful and beautiful. Plus, I love that the knobs have not only low, medium, high, but low medium. Because when youre doing a recipe, it goes medium low. So I like that it has more temperature points than just low, medium, high. However, the booklet was talking about how to broil and to make sure to use the broiling pan, and I was disappointed that the stove didnt come with a broiling pan. I assumed thered be one. I would have kept the one from my GE stove, but I threw it out. Also, after using nonprofessional stoves my whole adult life, Im having a hard time getting used to a stove that doesnt have a timer. Im getting better with it but its a weird change. But overall, the service and the product are excellent.

So, that’s handy and it seems to cook evenly. We like everything about it - the way it looks, the little lights that come on it, where the knobs are, and it also functions well. We’re very happy with it. Its of very good quality and its worth spending the extra money.

I bought a Viking Range for the size because I had a very limited space on my counter. I thought it was a good brand but Im disappointed. They have all this gas power but if you spill anything on the ceramics and the top, it’s a major disaster. If by accident you spill oil or water, you need to burn yourself and clean the stove immediately. It gets marked very easily. Im a cook so it’s crazy. Im completely shocked. I Googled what to use to clean it and everybody is complaining that it’s ridiculous that you spend so much money and you can’t clean the stove afterwards. No water, or anything because it will leave a mark.

Unit kept freezing up. After 4+ service calls and after talking with a technician that knew his stuff, he told me unit has a design flaw. Does not have a good defrosting system, it totally relies on turning itself off for a period of time, where most good systems have the warm refrigerant gas reverse through the system to defrost.

My mom is a chef and she said Viking is the best stove made. I like my range a lot. It’s a dual-energy. So, I’ve got a gas stovetop and an electric oven that has a convection. All the convection settings are really awesome. It takes too long to heat up. But once it gets hot, it’s great. The rows are nicer and much more even heating. It’s a very high-quality product. Im happy. The Wolf range was a little bit more money, but from the visit in the store, I didnt see that much difference in quality with the Viking range. One of the things that sold me on the gas stove top is that it has 55,000 Btu burners, and then, it’s got a little tiny one for simmering. That is awesome because the other products that I’ve owned only had one high-power burner, so I couldnt boil water and fry meat at the same time. But I do not have that problem anymore with Viking.

We absolutely love Viking Ranges. My dad had a Viking range and hood for about 15 years and he loved it. He’s an avid cooker and that’s what sold us on Viking. And we’ve not been disappointed. They’re wonderful and fabulous. We went through Best Buy in Fort Lauderdale and they ordered everything for us. We’ve got the range that’s gas, which we were thrilled to get here in Florida since there is no natural gas. We had to put in propane to get that. We’ve also got the hood and the Viking microwave. We didn’t have the microwave for a period because of a problem with the display, but it works fine now. Other than that, it’s great.I also love that the stove top is incredibly easy to clean up. I just have to take the grates right off. We had a décor stove top in our previous house in New Mexico and that one was awful to clean. I like that the gas stove, as well as the oven, seems to cook evenly too. We’re always showing off our Viking appliances. We have pictures of them which we show to people.

It’s been the worst nightmare that I’ve ever experienced on an applianc
It’s been the worst nightmare that I’ve ever experienced on an appliance with this amount of money. I had a Hardwick oven when I bought my house in 1985. I replaced it because we couldn’t get parts with it, and I needed a whole kitchen. So I figured I’d buy really good high-end appliances. So I bought an Electrolux refrigerator and then a Bosch dishwasher. I got a Viking electric wall oven, convection microwave, and a range. I’ve had problems with the range coming in cosmetically. There were a lot of inherent little scratches, and they took care of that. I couldn’t get it to work as well. For some reason when you put it on convection bake, it shuts off. It’s got a mind of its own and this is a $5,000 appliance. Thank God I bought it from ABW because they’ve been wonderful to deal with. After a year and a half, I had every single part replaced three times including cosmetic parts. The other thing is every time they come in and they would take it apart, the repairman would inherently scratch the surface or would chip on the bottom because it’s porcelain-lined and has to take the bottom out. I also have to check and put my hand over the vent to see if the heat is going on and I shouldn’t have to do that. So I finally convinced them that it’s a lemon. Viking had their representative come out from another repair place because they didn’t believe that the people at ABW were handling it properly. The representative replaced the part and it still didn’t work, so Viking replaced the range. The second one was a little better. Then when I turned it on and off, I still have the same kind of issues but I can’t go through a repairman coming in my house for another two years. They need to fix it. It’s a damn oven and it doesn’t work on the convection bake cycle. I like the convection bake cycle, that’s why I bought it.I probably have the biggest file on them. What’s really bad is that I found out later from another guy who delivered that this Viking range has problems and they just wouldn’t admit it. There’s something wrong with it and its motherboard but I have no idea what it is and I need it to work. It only came with a one-year warranty, but they promised to give me a two-year warranty on the replacement because of the issues that I had with it, and I haven’t heard anything from Viking. I reported it to them because I thought it would be a learning experience. The other thing is the cooktop. We bought it because it has steel burners and a porcelain back top. I cook nothing but the condensation of the water. With the other top I had, it stained in two places when the condensation of the pot hit the water. It was a mess. But this one seems to be better. I haven’t had problems with the convection and I haven’t had operational problems with the electric, but this gas has been a huge disappointment. If it lasts how long it lasts, I will never buy another Viking product again. It’s like it’s possessed. It’s supposed to be high end and not a cheap appliance. I wish I had my 30-year-old Hardwick back. Otherwise, I’ve had no problems. It’s a beautiful-looking appliance. I would never recommend to a friend to buy a Viking. They’re coming on Friday and would be replacing the two cosmetic parts that were scratched upon delivery. I have to stay home from work again for them to come over. This has been going on for almost two years. I have my daughter who’s an attorney and I was going to sue them. They had two contractors who came out and two different companies who said that there’s nothing they can replace it with anymore. They replaced it, but it was a fight.

We did a kitchen remodel and the person whom we were using to do the kitchen was the distributor for Viking. We got a Viking Refrigerator but then it woke me up last night as there is some sort of sensor that goes off and sets the alarm off. We have already had this sensor fixed once and now its broken again. Additionally, the drawer doesnt seem to shut right. The way freezer drawers work should be that they slide really easily, regardless if theres a lot of weight. However, after two weeks of operation, our freezer drawer has slowed down to the point where we have to push it with effort to get it to close.Viking has tried to have that fixed and nobody has been able to fix it. They contract with local repair people who have been very responsive. These repair people have addressed the issues, as reported but then theres still some sort of sensor that fails. The problem wasnt too bad when the sensor was going off at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. However, it has been going off at 3:22 in the morning and its annoying. There are beeping sounds coming from the kitchen thats surrounded by hardwood floors. The techs who have come have replaced several pieces the last time they came out. The problem with the sensor stopped for two or three weeks after that but then started again.
