Product Reviews:

We have seen Viking in new houses and we liked the look and the reliability
We have seen Viking in new houses and we liked the look and the reliability. Our range was delivered last year and we installed it a couple of months ago. Its heavy but we got it moved in all right and the installation was easy. We switched over from electric to gas and we really like the gas stove part of it because it feels industrial. Weve been real happy with it and the only issue weve had is a light bulb that burned out. We havent had anybody locally to come out and repair it yet. Weve been trying to contact the people at the place we bought it from or the local shops that work on Viking but we havent had heard back from them. They suggest we dont replace the bulb because its still under warranty, and so were waiting.

We got the 5 Series and theres a part of me that wishes it had a little more bells and whistles in the oven. But I like that its really simplistic - like the button for convection, the knobs for the oven, and the gas. The first time I cooked on it was over Christmas and it seems nice. I like the BTUs. Its strong.

We went to Best Buy and we decided to buy a Viking refrigerator as I had heard that it was the best product in the market. Weve also had a Viking stove for 10 years. However, the refrigerator we got stopped working one day. It was not freezing. I called Viking and they sent me a company to do the service. They needed a part as there was something wrong with the motor. Now we’re still waiting for that part. So far, we havent had good experiences with the equipment we bought from Viking. The dishwasher we got was a problem also. Now I have to pay $500 because the motor went bad.

In the company that I worked for, we use Viking Ranges a lot in the house remodels that we built. They are the ones that a lot of people favor. The installation process was simple. Also, I like the quality and everything. The only issue that we had was, when it arrived, the knobs were in the wrong spots. But they got fixed quickly. It happened right around Thanksgiving, too, when we installed the oven. We thought something was wrong with the oven. The homeowners spent Thanksgiving at their other house versus this one, because of the oven. They weren’t sure if the oven would work. I called Viking Marin. They specifically deal with Viking Ranges and appliances. I guess theyre a licensed Viking repair place, but they werent covered under the Viking warranty package. I had to call several other places, and that was a hassle.

I had a Viking range that lasted for 18 years, which was great. When we replaced all our appliances, we stayed with the whole Viking line, ‘cause we got a discount. They included the refrigerator if you bought the range. However, when they plugged the refrigerator that they installed, it didn’t work. It didn’t even come on. Then we got into a little argument with the guy and told him that they gotta take the refrigerator out if it doesn’t work because P.C. Richard, where we bought it, said that they should not leave it there. But they made good and they came back the next day with another refrigerator. At the same time, the range didn’t work either. I had gotten into a big argument with Viking headquarters and P.C. Richard that the range doesn’t work and they didn’t believe me so I had to wait a couple of days to get a Viking repair guy to confirm that it wasn’t working. Then, I had to wait four days for them to take the range out of my house and bring a new range. Also, theres a minor issue with the dishwasher. So, overall, the appliance purchase was a very bad experience because the guys were in my house installing everything half of the day and I gotta wait for them. We wasted five days on the whole process. Moreover, they have a Viking pots and pans set, which is $500, and I told them that they should send me a gift certificate for all the hassle that I just went through, but I never heard anything back. Lastly, the customer service reps at Viking knew everything that was going on but no one from them ever got back to me even though they told me I had to keep going to the retailer, and that was a nightmare because of the way P.C. Richard set up with inventory. Given my feelings with Viking, I have mixed emotions about recommending their products.

Viking was what the builder was providing as appliances, so we went ahead and bought the Viking fridge to match. The installers didn’t put the basket straight in the freezer so I had to figure that out. I had to go to one of the other houses and look at their fridge to see how to do it. The builder also gave me the wrong fridge. It’s the one with the water feature inside. They gave me an upgrade but we liked to have cold water coming out of our fridge, so that’s the only thing we miss. Other than that it’s been great. I love the freezer in the bottom and the double door where I could put big stuff in. That’s what Ive always wanted. Plus the crisper is really good. Its a very reliable product.

I walked into the store looking for a Sunshine or Vikings traditional gas range. Ive heard of Viking but I didnt know about their products. Their sales reps were not really educated. They showed me the Viking range and were not too technical about it. But when I saw the Viking, I said Wow. Its like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it. Its also marked up at a reasonable price and so far, I had a good experience using it at home. I love how it heats up everything so fast and the knobs are good to work with. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I dont know what the difference is or how it works. Im not chef type person and Ive been Googling that to try to figure out whats the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. We got to be careful when we take them off and clean them so we dont hit the actual stove with them. My wife cleans them daily and she scratched the front on top of it on the shiny part. It was stainless steel and she said it was heavy so she dropped it.

Viking Ranges is all over and I know it’s a very good range so I went with them. Im happy with its quality and I like their six burners. Also, I’ve never had a gas oven so I’m happy with that too. The people I bought the range from was Ferguson, and I had some issues when it was delivered. There was a part where the oven door shut and we couldn’t get the light to go off. I had to call Ferguson, then they had to notify Viking so they could come out and fix it. It was evidently a factory flaw. It took about a couple of days to get someone out. Nonetheless, I had an excellent experience. I would encourage my friends to seriously consider purchasing Viking appliances.

I bought the refrigerator through the Pacific Sales inside the Best Buy, but the delivery part of it was terrible. The people that were supposed to do the delivery and the installation screwed up twice. It was a 48-inch refrigerator, so its pretty heavy and large. The sales rep has specifically put in the requirement multiple men team to come for the installation, but twice they came out with only two guys and they weren’t able to do the installation. Other than that, the refrigerator has a nice design and has a quality feel to it. But I didn’t expect it to breakdown so early. The icemaker went out only less than a year that it was purchased. So I had to have it serviced.

My first Viking Refrigerator had problems with the ice maker. I have a custom-built kitchen and its the one that would fit. I like the product but the first one was very expensive and the ice maker was not good. They no longer make it with the ice maker on the door. So, overall, a good product but I had to replace it after eight years. Im happy with the new one, but we had problems with the retailer, Best Buy. The builders of our home had already selected Viking, and we had seen the Viking appliances at a friend’s place and we were very happy with the appliances, so there was no regret. Most of our appliances are from Viking and I had to contact their customer service for the registration of the appliances. I had trouble registering the products once we occupied the house, and that was resolved. The customer service team was very helpful. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. There were a couple of times it took me a while to connect to the customer service, though. The quality of our Viking refrigerator is great and it is easy to use. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. Thats the biggest plus for me. All the products are from Viking, so they are all coordinated. They blend very well together in the kitchen. Viking products are durable and they last for ages, so I’m very happy that we’ve made the right choice. Overall, our experience has been great.

I purchased a Viking package, should of looked into the dishwasher before I made them replace my first dishwasher after it broke 7 days of using it. It caused so much damage to my custom kitchen. Now that its leaking again, it caused more damage to the kitchen cabinets that I might have to remove the granite counter top and sink! The damage is probably 3x the amount of a viking dishwasher. Viking Range Corporation should have a class action lawsuit. Their ranges have the worst performance in the appliance field. $780 was the last bill to get it up and running. We moved into our new house in 2006, which was custom-built with all-new Viking appliances, except for the dishwasher. We have had nothing but problems with all of the Viking products. The microwave has been repaired at least 4-5 times. Problems with the microwave are mainly due to faulty door hinges or faulty door latches that melt over time. The oven has had the digital circuit board replaced twice, and the door hinges, as well. The circuit board was replaced once under warranty; the second time not so lucky: we were out of warranty. The refrigerator has been the biggest problem. It is the 36 refrigerator, built in with side-by-side freezer/refrigerator design. The seal around the entire unit has cracked, and to repair it would mean taking apart the entire door. The ice maker continually fails with ice melting altogether, so you have to reach inside and get ice, but the ice container has cracked, making it difficult to pull the bin out. I should mention that the ice bin, which includes the metal coil to push the ice out, is $462. However, at the time, we may have to junk the whole refrigerator since it just went out for the 2nd time last weekend. The freezer is working but the refrigeration side is not.

The only thing that I have not liked about it is they’re not very deep, especially the shelves, because I was used to a deeper refrigerator. But it’s great as far as the performance. Bought a Viking that never ran properly, parts broke, mother board changed 3 times. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, mother board, in less than 9 months and finally got replaced again. 2 months into owning it broke down!!! We are told no mother boards out there to replace with - back ordered. So we bought a defective Viking at full price the first time then had it replaced and paid another $5000+ so now our investment total about 16,000$ plus time spent away from work for repair guys to come and fix numerous times per year plus horrible costumer service. One repair company purported to order a part and we paid for it and never got it. They disappeared. Worst product ever!!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price points.

I like that Viking products are made in the USA, and so I had their products in a previous home too. We also decided to buy an entire Viking kitchen for our guesthouse. That includes a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, wine cooler, and microwave drawer. However, we had a problem with the dishwasher and Viking took almost nine months on it. They ended up having to replace it because the technician messed the other one up.Our refrigerator has also been leaking at the bottom for the last five months. The thing is its in the guesthouse and it’s hardly used. The parts that have issues are all under warranty of about six to eight years. Ive been dealing with a gentleman from Viking who has been trying to get technicians down here. One tech took off the door as well as the back panels, and now the door wont close and it leaks on both sides instead of one. It’s very frustrating because other than that one tech who came, I’ve still yet to get another one to come and look at the refrigerator and were about ready to throw it out on the street. My liking of Viking has always been the cooktops or ranges. In fact, I just had my 60-inch installed in my kitchen in the main house. I still like the product. Its just very frustrating to deal with customer service. Their service and follow-up is horrendous and I would not recommend it to anybody. Ive been in the restaurant business for 30 years and people respect the opinion. So I cant make a recommendation when something is lopsided.

My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but I’ve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but there’s still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off I’m able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So we’re back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand what’s going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, I’m not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. They’re expensive appliances. When you go online, people aren’t that happy with the range either.

We purchased our under counter beverage center and were looking forward to the convenience of having this appliance. It worked for about two months and we loved it. Then it started freezing everything in it. After that, exploded cans and bottles caused puddles of liquids on the floor. (Thats how we knew we had a problem.) We tried adjusting the temperature control with no avail. We contacted Viking and they referred us to a serviceman. He wouldnt service our area. Multiple calls were made to Viking and we received the same thing - servicemen referred by them who could not or would not come to us for the repair. We were looking for those high-end ranges and we looked at the model. We liked the self-closing feature the most and the other brand name didn’t have it, which was why we chose Viking. The quality of the range is not bad but it doesn’t have a lot of features. Compared to my old one, which is about $3,000, the Viking range doesn’t have a timer, a warm-up feature and a clock. We had an issue with it in the beginning but we asked for service and the guy fixed it for us, but I don’t know if it is a strong range. Also, once I roast or bake something, the grease spreads out and I have to clean the oven very hard every time. Mine is a 7 Series Viking Range and it doesn’t have self-cleaning, but my old one has that. Some repair people come with knowledge and some have different opinions. I did not buy the Viking refrigerator from the same dealer, so I did not register my refrigerator but they have a warranty for 10 years. The handle came off after less than a year of using the refrigerator and it did not come with any instruction to fix the handle but I figured out how to fix it. After I fixed it, we saw something wrong with the Viking Range. So, we asked the guy if they have a special tool for that or just a screw. He said no but I figured it out myself.

We paid $200 for an outside technician to come take a look... twice, because VIKING failed to tell them the first time that this was a recall issue. Needless to say, we are now going into month 5 of not having a working stove! Numerous calls and all we get is the same runaround. Part on backorder, will send out as soon as its in. The people who repaired at our beach house in Florida did a great job and they were very nice. They got our Viking fixed. It was not a good situation. We will not be buying any more Viking appliances, though we bought a lot in the past and they look great. We’ve been very, very disappointed with the quality of them. They are side by side and one is smaller and one is larger. However, the large oven did not work. I spoke to Viking, and it took five visits before they replaced it. They replaced it a month ago after I threatened to sue them.

For my kitchen renovation, my design company that they use, Fergusons and the chain of them here in the southeast, the only ones they had everything in stock was Viking. And when I purchased the stove, I got a free dishwasher. Headquarters had to call a lot and I had to have people here all the time. They were really concerned. When you open the fridge, the drawer to pull out, which is cold and you can keep cheese and meats in it, I cut my fingers and they were concerned and had headquarters call. And then, the repair people -- everything was free -- coming out all the time from Fort Myers. The guy called it metal burrs that havent been sanded down. That was quite a worry. They called me from Mississippi. Its very rare and it just wasnt finished. And depending where you place your fingers, you could cut them on metal to open that inside drawer. So, that was a bad experience. Also, the freezer didnt shut properly and the tech had come out several times. It was the most finite adjustment on something. But I could have lost a couple of hundred bucks worth of food because the alarm kept going off. And he came and fixed it, and an hour and a half later, the alarm went off again. He thought he fixed it. So, it was really challenging for the Morale in Fort Myers to contract repair people with Viking here in this area. That was maddening. And then, the dishwasher, an extra button for quietness fell right off on the floor, and it was a glue problem. The Morale had to come again. Its free for me under warranty. It just was disconcerting and all the appliances were brand-new. I heard him talk to headquarters and he said, Yes its a glue issue. And he said, No, I cant reuse it. Its covered in labrador fur and cat hair, which as soon as it started to hang out and the labrador would walk against it and it hung down from the bottom. It didnt seem to make much difference in the quietness. Its an incredibly quiet dishwasher anyway. But they had to order a new one, so that took a while, and they had to come back and put that in. That was a surprise, all that happened right away. But everything got fixed and Ive been very pleased since. Its a super quiet dishwasher and I like the red light that shines on the floor that shows when its on.And then, all the new fridges, all brands, the alarm for the freezer and different ways to adjust the temperature of that meat drawer and the freezer. And then, I like the microwave. Its so nice and simple. There were higher-end ones with the convection fan in the microwave, and I got simplest because I picked over the stove with the vent pan under the microwave. The way my kitchen was designed, it seemed the best route rather than a hood. The stove is unbelievable. This induction stove is the best thing in the planet. I heard good things about them and everybody I know whos renovating was getting new appliances, and new stoves are getting induction, and were just in shock about it was the fastest weve ever seen to boil water or cook. So safe, the way the magnetic field isnt hot. The oven is incredibly fast too. Its interesting. You dont have to preheat at all. The fix-it guy is a surprise too. He was fabulous, a longtime veteran and knows all his Vikings, and he was stunned. He was so puzzled about the freezer not closing. He thought of it truly as a challenge, a puzzle he had to solve. Because when he thought he fixed it, just 90 minutes later, it broke again. So truly, puzzled, and worked on the phone a long time with Viking in Mississippi and tried to solve it. It was the most infinitesimal thing, some tiny adjustment of a gear in the bottom drawer of the freeze. One tiny little gear off compared to the other side and it meant it couldnt close completely, and then it couldnt stay cold. That was his first time ever had to have that. Also, the button that fell off, he was also puzzled. We couldnt figure out where it fell off from. Just one day, I was just looking, and Id hardly had the dishwasher, and there it was hanging down the bottom, then it came completely off, and I called him up. When he came, You sure that came from this? He figured out where it was, couldnt save the old one or the new one, and it took a while to come. But ever since, things have been okay.

I had a Viking range in my last house and I liked it. I like gas cooking. However, when it came, the front griddle was scratched. Viking put in a ticket for service to get that replaced. They came out once. The tech couldnt do it. Came out again. He couldnt do it. Came out the third time with the replacement burners. Instead of being the silver, they were rose gold. Came back a fourth time. Now, this is only being here to make sure he could get in. In the meantime, also the griddle came. It was rusted. I just got that griddle three weeks ago after purchasing back in August. I love the product but the service was horrendous. I have all Viking in my house. I got another French door oven, the dishwashers, the microwave. It was terrible. A lot of my time spent trying to get things fixed that I shouldnt have been spending time on. Nobody listens to me.There was so much trouble trying to get the stove in and get it to be finished that I almost said to them, “Come and take it back.” Putting in tickets, waiting here for people to come to the house during COVID. Coming in, he couldnt fix it. Hours taking the whole stove apart, putting stuff all over the floor. Meaning that when his visits came, like the one time he came at 4:00 and I would start cooking dinner around 4:30, he came until 6:30. A lot of little problem things that shouldnt have had to happen. And then they give you a window of eight hours that they will be there. So, you take a day off work. That was just the messy part of it. I did that three times. But the products that they make, I absolutely love. Ive had them in my last two homes, and I have a 48- inch stove fuel and I love it.

Purchased Viking stove and built in Viking microwave VMOS200 while kitchen was being remodeled so it sat in warehouse for around a year. Microwave installed and worked fine for about 10 years, and then it stopped heating the food. Researched cost of repairs and found them to be way high in cost because of labor and the cost of parts needed. Researched for similar issues, to find out that other with same problem as a result of some switches behind the keypad that were bad and needed to be changed. As per Viking the little switch would cost around $22.00 ea. I worked as a purchaser of electronic components and I thought it sounded fishy for a switch to cost that much. I used to pay pennies for some switches and granted there are different types for different uses, but nothing could justify $22.00. I took the switch description and specs and fed it into Google and like magic had a list of them including the one from Viking. Found the one that matched my needs for less than $3.00 ea., sent description of it to Viking and asked what the difference was.Vikings response was that there wasnt any difference between them and either one would be perfectly good to solve the problem with my Viking microwave. I purchased over $25.00 worth of switches because I wanted free shipping. Also, this model has 4 switches behind the keypad and I was not sure if one or more switches were bad. They are ripping off consumers with their high prices for appliances built by Sharp and sticking their Viking name on them and selling their made in China switches for $22.00. If this is not illegal, it should be!??? Does Consumer Affairs look into things like this? Wish they did.

The range came with our house and the quality is not very good. It is not self-cleaning, which I dont like. It cooks food. But they can upgrade the design. It’s a large oven but its insufficient to put two standard sized cookie trays side by side. So you get this bigger oven but theres no benefit of the oven, only the benefit of the extra burners on top. We had to get an extra oven. Maybe their top-of-the-line models are better. This is an entry level model but its still a $5,000 oven. Its three years old and its already had two service calls. The warranty is only two years. The oven wouldnt light and the burners on top are sporadic in their lighting. Ive had cheaper ovens that are way better. I’d never buy another Viking. The service people were great to a degree. They were responsive. They came out and they charged me for the replacement pieces. They were gonna look into whether they could get a courtesy warranty on another part, but they never followed up. The people at Viking themselves who I contacted because there was a recall on some of these ovens confirmed my recall was not there. Even though I found some other parts that were not adjusted correctly at the factory and I had to pay to have the service guy readjust them, they said, “Thats too bad. It’s out of warranty.”

Viking creates a great product that is sturdy and outperforms other high-end ranges. After buying a Thermador Range that underperformed at every turn and which seemed to be made out of low-quality steel which caught on fire due to a door switch issue, we decided to buy a Viking dual fuel range. What a wonderful experience we have had not just with the product but also with the customer service, which was sorely lacking with Thermador. Thanks for making a superb product!

Less than five months ago I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen. I wanted a reputable brand that would last for years to come. Viking is a name you hear and immediately think high-end. Their appliances fit my style perfectly, simple yet classy-looking, so I took the plunge and ordered myself an entire Viking kitchen, not a cheap decision but my kitchen is MY space, so I splurged. My stainless steel refrigerator (double door on top, pull-out freezer on bottom) has been constant problems for me. Im actually not fond of any of my appliances but the others have been overlooked due to such shockingly poor quality of my refrigerator. First, the ice machine works completely randomly... one day a full tub of ice, the next nothing. Next, in less than three months time a shelving frame has completely cracked all the way through, and there is hardly any weight on it at all. Now, the produce drawers are sagging inwards and I do not trust the shelves in the least. It seems like it is constantly something with the unit. I had hoped to love my new kitchen but now Im so upset that, for the money I spent, I do not have appliances I can be proud to show off.

Ive been a cook for many years and I was always fond of the brand. I was torn between Viking and Wolf, and even Monogram. I did a lot of research on all three, and then ended up choosing the Viking. I like the dual oven. That has been convenient to have. The amount of ranges I have on top helps as well, that I can glide the pots across the ranges to move them from one to the other. I also love how fast it heats up. I feel my range took my cooking to another level.

We’ve had Viking for years and thats the reason we got them the second time. We like the stove for the way it’s set up. The refrigerator’s open a lot and the temperatures on it have always stayed the same unless it’s real hot out. The new one has got the LEDs in it, which is nice. The doors in it are a little bit nicer than the old ones we had. We bought the items over the internet and it was real good. At this day and age, it seems like most of the time you buy something, it’s good for three years, and it goes to hell on you. We try to buy quality, and it shows. Viking has been a good product. The stainless steel is nice. The only thing we didn’t have last time was a dishwasher. This time we bought one. My wife had used the dishwasher once and it worked good. It’s real quiet.

I liked the way Viking Ranges look better than other competitors. I like my ranges quality a lot, but there are a few things I dont like. The top is very difficult to clean. There’s a bar on the top before the burners and it’s like a crevice. Theres no flat surface there because of that enclosure. Everything around the burners gets into those cracks. It’s in a really bad spot for the stainless and you have to clean it constantly, and the best thing to do is vacuum it up. Plus it doesn’t make sense that they didn’t make a smaller burner. They’re all the same size and if you had a really small pan, it could be difficult to use. Other than that, it cooks very well. I like the oven racks and the way they telescope out is good. I’ve cooked a lot in the oven and it stayed clean until I dumped a batter of egg thing in it. I slipped, but it was fine. Theres a learning curve though. You can’t just put it in and use it. You need to really read.

Ive always had Viking in every appliance in my house. But when my refrigerator stopped all the way out, the technicians kept coming out to fix it. They came, looked at the problem and then they had to go back to get a part. I had to wait for another two to four weeks for it to come down to put in. And then another couple of weeks later, the refrigerator would quit again. So then, they had to come back two weeks later. They were down to replacing everything. Despite that, the technicians were great and I had no problems once they came out. It was just not getting the part that dragged it out because they only service my part of the town every two weeks. But when my husband stepped in, Viking finally gave me a new refrigerator. I was very disappointed that it took me probably half a year to get this issue resolved. It was my mistake and looking back, I probably wouldnt do Viking again even though they finally gave me a new refrigerator. I understand that they have to try to get it fixed but they should have done that instead of waiting for my husband to interfere and that he had to contact one of the bigwigs of Viking.

We recently built a new house and purchased a Viking range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and wine refrigerator. In a short amount of time, we have had the refrigerator repaired four times - all involving issues with the ice maker and water dispenser. The dishwasher still works but the button that lights up when you push start does not. Apparently, that costs a couple of hundred dollars to repair. The wine refrigerator needed a new thermostat - that was a $400 repair. So far, we have not had any issues with the range or microwave. A Viking representative came out and repaired the refrigerator free of charge, but the other items were out of warranty (only 15 months old!). I have emailed customer support several times, but to no avail. I am a very, very unhappy and dissatisfied customer.

We have had Viking Ranges since they pretty much came out. We are on our third Viking Range. When we remodeled our house, my husband wanted to get me something high quality because I’m a baker and I cook a lot. So we’ve researched and thats what came up. I like the way the Viking Range looks. We also renovate houses since the 80s and we always put a Viking Range in there. We flip higher end houses and people wanted Viking look or Wolf. We bought one Wolf and I hated the Wolf. I was like, Forget it. I don’t have to buy another Wolf. Weve bought plenty of Viking Ranges. The first one I had was a gas range and I loved it. And then we traded that for a dual fuel electric oven which I hated. The oven was much smaller and I couldnt fit all my baking pans. I couldnt even fit a turkey in it. I was really disappointed in that. It also started arching, spitting and shooting flames out the vent and the top. Wed called Viking to find out if there was any root cause. And they said not that they are aware of. So we ended up going through our insurance company in getting a new one. I got the Dual Fuel Viking Range. Its the four-burner. They did change the oven so its much bigger. Ive baked four cakes already with it and its only been a month. I wish they would have had one on the floor so I could have looked at it. But most people arent caring them because theyre so expensive. The people that I talked to at Viking have been very nice. But I wish we could have gotten more information about the other one that had started the fire. They didnt seem very interested and we still have that oven. They werent also going to take the oven so we figured we just hang on to it and see. Were thinking of making an outside kitchen and just tearing the oven apart and turning it into an outside stove. They also have people who came to hook a Viking Range up but hooked up the electric cord wrong. So then we didnt have an oven for a week cause it wouldnt work. Somebody came to fix it. They replaced the cord and took it right one on and that works great.

Now self cleaning has failed, and oven hinge has again failed. Yesterday the bottom oven heating element melted open. Thats enough for us, I intend to put it out front with a lemon on top. Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

We purchased a gas 48 inch Viking, 6 burner, 1 griddle range from a Viking Range Certified Kitchen company. In the first 3 years, under warranty, it was serviced 3 times for overheating and shutting off after 40 minutes at 400+ degrees. After the warranty lapsed, we had a 4th service call with estimated parts and repair at (00 for hinges. We were told the hinges were not holding the door to create a strong enough seal within the oven and the heat fried the control module. We contacted Viking Range, who agreed the hinges were a manufacturing defect and replaced the hinges. Six months later, using the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes-- it shuts off and the ignition spark went off (sparking but not catching for about 30 minutes until we had to pull the huge oven away from the wall and unplug it). Another service call, another $900 to explain why the oven overheats-- this time saying the seal on the door isnt trapping heat and the heat is again reaching the control module. This oven is defective, we have never been able to use it above 450, which is why I bought it in the first place. It was a $9,000 stove with a $2000 vent hood and over $3000 has been spent in under 5 years to maintain it. Viking Range will not claim responsibility for what we know to clearly be a faulty unit.

It looks as though it will do what its supposed to do for the next 20 years. My expectation is that because it is expensive, Im going to have it for a long time. It is easy to clean. Im not a big cook, but my understanding from people who do is that its important to have the temperature consistent inside of the oven. Thats one of the things that Viking is known for - even heating. So if ever I take up baking, Ill find that to be true.

I liked the price of Viking Range for the model that we wanted. It was something that wasnt out of our price range for a high-end appliance so its affordable. Certain things certainly cook better but its performance has been good and easy to use. I really enjoy how the convection cooks. I dont really have any complaints about it. The Viking dealer team was great, helpful, and accommodating. Its been a good overall experience so far.

My husband is from Mississippi and everybody there has a Viking range. His mom had a Viking range and its just a family thing. I used to have a Thermador and I switched over to a Viking when my Thermador went out. I bought it online. The delivery was fine and it showed up on time. I had a professional come and install it. Ive had my Viking for about three months and I love it. Its a convection and its dual fuel. It is heavy duty and it is very easy to clean compared to my Thermador.

We did some research on the appliances before we had our house built. There were Viking appliances at the stores then I ordered and read their book. I thought the quality was good. My granddaughters school had Viking appliances. I talked with the people that run the facility there and asked them what they thought of the Viking and how it worked. They convinced me that it was definitely worth it.All of my kitchen appliances are Viking and I wanted to register for all of the warranties. I went to the Viking website and it would not allow me to do that. Then I was having an issue with the dishwasher, and I couldn’t find in the book to correct it. I ended up having to call the repair personnel to get out of the mode as it went into an error code. I had to schedule an appointment and then it took a couple of weeks for them to get here. I also asked the gentleman to help me register the appliances for warranty and he did that. I gave him the information and he was very helpful. For the money that I spent on this kitchen, I expected a concierge service. But Im pretty much pleased with it. Its pretty good and right now, it seems to fit my needs. I like the way the doors are softly closed in the refrigerator. Its good and its a little larger than the standard size. I also like the ice dispenser. I would like the water dispenser but then that would be an additional cost. Overall, Im well satisfied and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I had a Viking cooktop before and last August, I had a Viking Range installed. Since I didn’t want all the electronics that most ranges have and wanted to keep it simple and fewer things to break, I went with Viking and it seemed to meet that need. I had a very good experience with the company where I got the range from and they were very helpful. I feel good about the quality of the range. I wish the oven was a little deeper but having the convection part, I love the depths of the oven. The range is working well and is easy to use, and a lot of my friends have Vikings too.

My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since
My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since they became available commercially. It was about the same price as its competitors but its the one I always dreamed of having. I wanted a six burner and the one I received from Viking is incredible. I love it. My old range was a Kitchenaid and with it, I couldnt run the burners on top and the oven at the same time. I would get a power failure and at that time, that was allegedly a good range. So I wanted something that was not going to crap out on me. We just had Thanksgiving and with the Viking Range, I had at least five burners going in the oven and everything was perfect. But when I purchased it from a retail store, it was a mess. I had complaints and they kept not wanting to put me through Viking. They kept telling me that Viking wouldnt do anything about it because the ovens got to have many things wrong with it. They also kept saying they could repair it and when we were down to the 6th thing that needed to be repaired, finally they sent the email with my complaints to Viking. Once Viking got involved, I had a new stove within two weeks. And because the range and the refrigerator are only separated by a small-ish cabinet, I also told them that when the refrigerator came in, it had a big bash on the side. Again, I had a new one in five days. So the people at Viking were incredibly responsive and based on my experience, we should watch out for the retail outfit that we get our Viking products from.

We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest.
We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest. We liked Vikings reputation and some of our friends have Viking appliances as well. My whole experience started off with one dealer. When I went in there, I gave them a deposit but I ended up canceling that because the woman that I was dealing with didn’t know the product line at all. So, I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So, knowing what I wanted, I then reached out to a dealer on Long Island and everything at that point was done across the phone. And the girl that I dealt with did an excellent job for us. So we purchased the 48-in range, the dishwasher and below the counter microwave. And I was really happy with that as far as the coordination and delivery of the equipment. I’ve also spoken to Viking directly done in Mississippi a couple of times and they were helpful. I had a couple of questions and in the middle of everything, there was a model change going on. called them and said all right, tell me the differences between what I had ordered and what I’m going to receive and they did a good job of explaining the difference there. When I had the issue with the dented panel on the dishwasher, they turned it over to a third-party and I was hoping that they could address the issue sooner than later, but it was a smaller organization. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get them out to the house but when they came, they were spot on and did an excellent job. So, while I had to wait longer than I would have liked, I was happy with what they did.It was interesting because one of my friends has not had a good experience with Viking around the range and parts. But I didn’t allow that to bother me because I don’t know how much of it was them or how much of it was Viking. There are always two sides to every story. So, even hearing the horror stories that they had to tell, I am pleased with what we did and I’d be happy to recommend Viking to anyone so far.

The Viking Range fit all of the requirements that I had. Its a professional range and has a 36-inch all-gas oven. But Ive had a lot of issues with the range. I had to have the ignition switch replaced about a week after it was installed because the oven would not light. And now Im waiting for them to come and replace the burner in the oven because it wont stay lit. It was installed in the middle of September and it hasnt functioned properly since. But the dealer has been helpful as far as sending someone out to repair it. The Viking rep called and was very pleasant. He offered to come out and do a free demonstration whenever the unit is functioning properly. Theyre supposed to come out and replace the burner. Hopefully after that he can come out and show me some features of the oven.

We wanted a commercial range. We looked at Thermadors but we liked the way Viking Range looked and the price was okay. Viking had a tough track record but we understand they were bought out by another corporation and they supposedly turned things around. The team at the dealer wasn’t great when we went to buy the range. They handle a lot of different lines. They were very nice but not extremely knowledgeable. I would think anybody who represents the commercial people like that would be very well trained. They provided all the information I needed as I asked it, but most of the time, they had to look it up. I think this particular dealer was more into GE, LG and the lower-end or middle-end stuff. They werent impressive by any means. Also, once you pay for them, you would almost think that when they install them, they would run through a tutorial. But the delivery was okay.We like it a lot and have cooked and maked tea on it. Yesterday, we just baked with it and it was making a few popping noises. Were not accustomed to a gas oven and hopefully, its a learning curve but Im assuming that was some of the stuff burning off because its new. Thats a question I have for the technician whos coming to look at the knobs in the front that are rubbing when I turn them and the front kick plate on the bottom that is crooked. But we like that were being able to control the heat on the burners and its appearance as well. It looks very commercial, industrial and it’s well designed. Right now, we’re satisfied.

I built a new kitchen in 2012. We splurged on a Viking fridge and have had trouble from day 1. The freezer broke every year, the defrost function in the freezer didnt work correctly, so the freezer would turn off and melted water would flow out. We finally had to get an upgraded compressor because the one in the fridge wasnt big enough. Big money. This year, the cooling fan stopped working in fridge. This was 3 weeks ago. My appliance repair contractors spent a week trying to contact service. Finally they sent a part, 3 days later… So now I face the 4th of July summer holiday, no fridge. I feel like I should order multiples of the 4 fan I need, fully expecting this will happen again. Viking, good name, bad product.

We had a couple of bad items that came in with it, but they fixed it via third party. Ultimately they did everything they could. Viking sends out books that are probably inch-thick that tells us what to do. I’ve been pleased with my Viking refrigerator. I can’t believe how long food stays fresh in it. I can leave food in there for weeks on end, and it still comes out as if I just bought it from the supermarket so I’m very impressed. I think there’s truly something going on in that box. I also like the industrial nature. It’s all heavy-duty stainless and the moving parts are very fluid and easy to operate. I’m extremely satisfied and I really enjoy owning Viking. The Viking is the first built-in refrigerator I have ever had. I am very happy with the way the interior is designed. Everything functions well in the refrigerator portion. I do however find it is a bit difficult to take apart and clean. The exterior door does not open wide enough to remove the bins and shelves easily. It is hard to maneuver. I am also happy having the freezer on the bottom. It makes it very easy to use.I have had no problems with the refrigerator however I had a very severe problem with the freezer. For some reason the small drain where the defrost water cycles got clogged up. This I think is quite difficult to do as it is behind a whole plastic wall. But it happened and the freezer froze full of ice and the door would not open. It was a total mess. The service man who repaired the freezer said that the Viking factory does not install a small part in the drains that would have alleviated this problem because of the fact that then the refrigerator would no longer have the economy rating it has. I do not know if this is a true statement or not but it was what I was told. I want to say that fortunately this occurred three days before the three-year warranty expired as it was an extremely expensive repair.

Now two weeks after repeated calls to their agent and Viking, no one even has told me when it will be fixed. Since it’s dangerous to operate a cracked ceramic oven top, we couldn’t even boil water for two weeks. And probably will have to sit a few more weeks before they will enlighten me when this ceramic top will be fixed. By then, I will be forced to buy another oven, of course never Viking again. Please don’t pay this kind of money for a brand which will take weeks to just tell you when your oven will be fixed.

Unbelievable, but after 3 months and some limited use, our outdoor grill burned through the light wires and short circuiting the house. After finding the tripped fuse switch, we tried it again with the lights off. It worked once and then the burner fell off as it had melted. Viking says that this $6,000 plus range actually wont let us close the canopy and heat it up. They said to just put the food on and it will eventually get done (have they ever tried a turkey or even a chicken breast). They say that people call in all the time with burned wires and knobs falling off, and that you really arent supposed to warm it up (contrary to what the manual says). In fact, the canopy thermometer must be a decoration as its never going to go up at all! Id like to return this sucker, and I do accuse this company of fraud!

When we went looking for a refrigeration system for Thanksgiving the salesperson showed us different brands and the Viking appealed to us. My wife liked the configuration of the shelves inside. She also likes the openness of this refrigerator. Its not cluttered and we could adjust the shelves. Diana, the person I dealt with at Viking, was super. The only thing is that they were so busy that they couldnt deliver the refrigerator so I went to pick it up.However, were having trouble with the icemaker. The refrigerator takes a couple of days for it to generate. It was making a little bit of ice and then all of a sudden it didn’t make ice. So we called the repair facility and that was not a happy thing for me because we had to find different dealers that would service Viking. We finally found one and they came out and worked on it. But after four days it had spit out about five ice cubes and that was it. We had the repair technician come out again and he said that theyll order a new one. I believe I can beat all negative reviews that I have read this evening... my Viking almost killed me tonight. It had been pulled out from its location into the kitchen because it had ceased to operate during the night... After a lengthy process we found a vendor to fix the problem. Whilst waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow I said we must open the doors because as we have been told if a fridge is not functioning the doors should be open to prevent odors etc. As I opened the bottom drawer the fridge started to topple on top of me... my reaction was to try to stop it. However a 2 inch jut out in my counter caught the top door and prevented it from falling on top of me.Everything crashed out of the fridge and I was surrounded by broken glass etc. We tried to push it back in place but it is on wheels and the disaster was about to be compounded... trying to hold it in place we called the local fire dept... They arrived and carefully pushed it back into place. I have no words for this piece of junk... excuse me - very expensive piece of junk. Lucky to be alive tonight!

I’m an architect so I’m familiar with Viking Ranges through my profession. They had a promotion where they’re offering a free dishwasher with the range and that kind of sealed the deal. In terms of the quality of construction and the materials it weighs almost 400 pounds. My only issue was the control knob on the oven. Even though it’s a very sturdy unit the shaft that held that onto the actual control was made out of cast metal. I just thought personally it was a poor choice of materials but they are fixing it under warranty. It’s actually done through Viking and one of their local representatives. When I had the warranty issue I contacted Viking directly in Mississippi and they were responsive and they had the issue resolved in a day. They scheduled something within the day. I’m just currently waiting for the replacement part and then it’s going to be installed. I would recommend Viking Ranges. I had to reach out to them to confirm and they responded to me saying that the delivery is gonna be delayed by a week but it wasnt a big deal. We got the professional series and its quality is good. One igniter wasnt working well and we called up the company and they sent someone quickly. The service was good and it was covered under warranty. The burners themselves leave stains so it’s weird given the price point of the range. If something goes on it and I dont wipe it immediately, which when I’m cooking Im not gonna wipe it immediately, it leaves a stain. They need to improve the quality on all the burner caps. The gold burners are beautiful though, the heating is great and it cooks up really well. Our experience with the Viking range has been good so far.

The new range that they sent, has a loose screw in the fan, that would make loud noise when the fan was turned on. We contacted authorized service station Jags Electronics. They came and fixed the screw. The fan continued to make noise. They now say that the convection fan needs to be replaced. It is an expensive range, and we were expecting better quality of the range. Very disappointed with the purchase. I am not sure if the issue is with Abt Electronics - they sell defective pieces, Viking quality, Jags Electronics - that they are not able to fix the problem at one time. Very frustrated. Would not recommend the range.Updated on 12/02/2017: I had submitted a complaint about my range on Nov 11th. It has been making loud noise when Oven/Convection is turned on. The range was bought from ABT. They sent a defective piece. It has been serviced thrice by Jags Appliance Repair, and he has been unable to fix this. WE WANT THE RANGE REPLACED OR WE WILL TAKE IT TO CONSUMERAFFAIRS. We were told on Nov 16th that someone will respond and look into our complaint. It has been more than two weeks and no one has responded. I doubt if they even monitor the complaints.
