I was at an open house and saw Vikings range. It looked pretty good. I talked to some customer families and they were happy with their appliance. The range was fine, but the hood sucked. Although the range doesn’t have as many features as the other ranges on the market, it feels solid and commercial. Plus, it provides consistent burning. However, it lacks the innovation that other products on the market have. Im hoping for more functions, like a timer. It even took me time to realize that you have to set the ovens temperature and wait for the light to turn off so you know its at the right temperature. Its not as convenient as my previous GE profile range. The GE didnt look as nice but it had a feature that tells the ovens current temperature, a timer, and more. The hood generates so much noise that I feel like Im next to a jet engine. I need to call them about that, but the customer portal is pretty poorly defined. I had to jump through a lot of hoops to set everything up. I just finished that and now I need to figure out a way to report a problem.

Ive been using Viking Ranges for years. On delivery, the range that I received from them wasnt so good. It was not only scratched, but there were missing parts on it. I reached out to Customer Service and they responded promptly. They were knowledgeable and courteous, scheduled time with me, and then showed up on time. The repair done was excellent. Since my range has been working, Ive liked everything about it and its been good. However, the vice president in charge of customer relations told me that we get the one-year extension on my warranty. I havent seen anything from him to show that, and Id appreciate it if Id get an email or something that I could hold and print.

I was looking for a range and didnt want one with all the bells and whistles. Viking Range was the cleanest and the simplest range I saw. I liked the fact that the Viking dealer was a private showroom, it was very nice. They had a lot of other models and stuff that I could look at. Plus, there was no high-pressure sale. However, I have two concerns for the money that I paid. One is the grate on top. The little rubber feet keep breaking off. My understanding is that the only way to fix that is to buy new grates, which is absolutely ridiculous because the grates are perfectly fine. The second is I had to have them repair the blower fan in the range. Again, I think that for the money I paid it would last a lot longer. Its still under warranty but I shouldnt expect that. I am disappointed in the grate rubber stops and the fan blower, but I love the cooktop.

I always knew about Viking from reputation. We purchased homes in the past and my brother is also a chef so hes used to the Viking products and higher end appliances. I was in San Francisco and our home builder had Viking as all of our appliances. I have my whole kitchen, as well as the dishwasher, the refrigerator, the stove, the microwave, and the oven with the Viking line. The refrigerator is great and I like the look of the French double doors. Ive had the refrigerator for two months but its not working at its optimal level. The ice maker doesnt work. But it was a good experience when I called Viking about it. They were able to set me up with a local provider. However, the local provider just came out a week ago. And it had taken them almost two weeks to come out to fix it. And they still had to order a part and its gonna take a little bit longer so I had to go to Starbucks to get ice.

A condominium I bought in California many years ago already had a Viking installed. It was brand new and it had one of the big double ovens with the six things on top and the grill. The gas burners are very efficient, very powerful and I love them. However, were now in our second home in Washington state, and we found out that most of the dealers here have quit carrying Viking. They said it was very difficult to get service up here, so Im a little concerned that I made the choice. I didnt realize they were closing it out when I got this last range. Ive had four ranges, and Ive been happy with them. I had trouble with a couple of things on the range I bought in California in my condominium, including the modernized clock it had on it, but I always got service out and they took care of it. So far Ive had a really good experience with Viking and they were good.

From the day my refrigerator was installed, it didnt work. The temperature was always above 45 degrees. A repairman was sent to my house 12 times between April 2008 and May 2009. Then miraculously, a different guy came and it seemed worked for 14 months. To this day, I do not know how one guy fixed it in 10 minutes when another guy came 11 times, spent hours and still couldnt fix it. When I voiced this concern, the company accused me of saying the guy did something unethical. So I let it go. A huge mistake. Now, the same old problem is back. I had to agree to pay for the service call and parts which I did. The tech guy recommended certain parts. The repair guy never used those parts instead, he installed a part for $165.00 which was already replaced twice. It cost me $404.00 and the refrigerator is once again not working. Temperature is above 45 degrees. So now what? Junk a $6000.00 refrigerator? I continue to pay for service calls that should have been taken care of when the refrigerator was installed. This is a black hole. No way out. Viking service is terrible. They do not back their products. Do not buy Viking.

I love to cook. My next-door neighbor used to be a head chef for a French restaurant in New York City and she has a Viking. So I was looking at getting one. At the time, I was also looking at Wolf and an Italian stove. But the guy at the Appliances Connection down in New Jersey talked me into buying the Viking. I heard that Viking had some issues back and he convinced me that those issues had been resolved. So I believed him and I bought it. But Ive been frustrated a little bit because it came not working. The small stove would ignite but it would go out and it would keep trying to ignite over and over again. I called Viking and I registered it, but she told me they didnt have anyone who repairs it in our area. I told her my next-door neighbor has a stove and that Id ask her. But the woman said no and never followed through with getting someone to repair it.However, the people I bought this stove from, Appliances Connection, stepped up and found a repairman. They organized the repair and now it is fixed. Im very happy. But someone needs to talk to Vikings service department rep. Other than that, the quality of my Viking range is fantastic and the cooking capacity is awesome. I would recommend it.

The oven that we bought from Viking took about eight months to ship and when it came, it was damaged. We had to wait another month and a half to fix one part, so it could be fully operational. So, I dont have a lot of confidence that the rest of the machine is going to last that long. The broiler specifically had to be rebuilt in our house. The microwave hasnt worked properly since installation and after three months, we finally got Viking to replace it instead of fixing it. Its nice having a high BTU range, which was what I was looking for, as a home chef. The oven seems to be working fine and the microwave has some good features if it would work. There should be open communication between the retailer and the Viking Middleby company. Im disappointed. If I had known now what we would have gone through, I probably would have chosen a different option. We were simply upgrading our kitchen and we had something that was working that we got rid of for this.

I’ve owned Viking before, and I like the features they had on this particular model. It’s easy to purchase. But Ive had to contact them multiple times. It’s a piece of garbage. It’s broken multiple times. We have a two oven model. The oven will go into self-cleaning mode and lock, even though we’re not trying to clean, we’re trying to cook. And it’ll take days to get the oven unlocked with food stuck in it. Ovens will just die because they won’t heat properly. We have the electric oven with the gas burners. And so, we’ve had failure to heat multiple times as well, with defective relays, defective elements. It’s also very hard to get a serviceperson to come. And when they come, they dont fix it. One problem has recurred and not been repaired several times, and then, I had another problem as well. They always try to charge me for the call, even though it was under warranty. I would never buy Viking again.

We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled
We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.

We got our Viking range used and we got it at a really good price. I like the quality. I feel like the electronics and stuff in it seems to be kinda problematic, but that might also be because it is older. We had issues with the oven and a new control board was ordered and that fixed everything except for the broiler. Now, we’re just trying to fix the broiler problem. Other than that, my experience with Viking themselves is great. They gave me the history of the appliance and I was able to figure out what work had been done on it before. I was really happy with Viking’s technical service and support. And I like the way the range looks and it cooks great. You can feel the difference just in the weight of the appliance we took out compared to this one. Its made much more solidly and well-constructed than typical appliances.

The Viking refrigerator is well-lit and well-designed. The only criticism I have is that when we open up the bottom drawer and let the icebox fill up to the top, as we pull out that drawer that has the icebox, the little metal piece that you flip up and down to turn off or on the icemaker very often grabs a roll of ice cube, shoots them into the back of the refrigerator, and they come flying out underneath the freezer compartment. If I was 30 years old picking up the cubes it wouldn’t bother me as much, but Im 70 years old and having to lean over and pick up the ice cubes when they fly across the floor is not something Im enjoying. What weve been doing is once the icebox is filled, we flip the metal bar up and we leave it off until the box is fairly empty and then put it back up again. I don’t think it has to do with a malfunction and that they could fix that without redesigning the refrigerator. If someone asks about Viking, I would tell them to consider making sure that they look at the design of each of the refrigerators and make sure that this particular design is something theyre gonna be aware of in case they buy this model. This is a problem Im having with this model and maybe another model doesn’t have that problem.

I know of Viking Ranges as being a good brand. I like the combination of its style and size and its durability and simplicity. I didn’t want something with a lot of electric controls and my range seemed like their basic gas, almost commercial style gas. It has a big oven with a big range top and I like its clean lines, stainless steel finish that it looks like a professional range, commercial style oven. I bought it through PC Richards and their reps were good. They were incredibly knowledgeable. However, I’m a little disappointed because the oven broke about four months ago. The hinges on the door just stopped closing the door completely, I had no idea why. Also, I cannot turn the flame down low enough. There’s a lot of BTUs. They’ve now referred my range to their service department and it has taken awhile to order pieces. It has been a very long process and it is still waiting for a repair. I can still use the range though. Overall, my experience was generally very, very positive.

I do a lot of work in Buckhead and different areas seem to have a Viking equipment. It’s something that I liked, the looks and the quality, so I pursued it on my own and bought the equipment. Upscale equipment has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what company, everybody is going to have a problem at some point. But having Viking distributor just about a mile away works out good for me. However, the door on the freezer and door on the refrigerator does not match. The finish on the door is totally different from the cooler. Otherwise, it’s a superb product. I got a good feedback on it so it’s a great and nice looking product with the exception of just a few hiccups. My favorite feature is the dual-fuel oven. Overall, I’m happy with the product and my wife is enjoying it. My brother’s purchasing an equipment too so I’ll surely get him into it as well.

I knew of Viking 30 years ago. I live near the North Shore which is a pretty area and Viking was all they had in their houses. Thats what they got and that’s what I wanted. It was either Viking or Wolf stoves we were looking at. Wolf only had built-in refrigerators but when we designed our kitchen, we didnt do a built-in area for the refrigerators. Viking had the range, the microwave, and the refrigerator so we went with them. We used Grand Appliances in Libertyville and they were phenomenal. I was a pretty savvy consumer so I went about and did my research before I went in. We had a saleswoman who was fantastic too.We like the Viking range. It works and I like the blue light. The only thing we dont like about it is it doesnt have a timer on there, like a digital display. It has the knob on it that tells the temperature, though. When Im cooking something in the oven, I have to set the timer. Other than that, every appliance in our kitchen is all Viking. We bought a Viking microwave, so we set the timer on that. Our dishwasher is Viking too. When we had one little problem with our refrigerator, they came out to fix it. Now, its making a knocking noise but hopefully, it will go away before we call back. Overall, Id recommend Viking.

When we bought the house, we had a Viking refrigerator, a hood and a dishwasher. When we had to replace the refrigerator, we got another Viking because it would fit in to the space in the cabinetry. We bought it from an outlet store where they receive overstock, stuff that people ordered and didn’t like it or something that had been discontinued. Our new unit is working fine and if that’s the type of refrigeration unit you wanna build in, its a fine unit. But theyre expensive and I would advise others to shop around.

Their dealer told me about the Viking buy one, get one free deal when I first went in to look at the refrigerator there, but I didn’t buy the refrigerator right then because I was shopping around. But I called back and ordered the refrigerator and they didn’t ask me which other appliance I would like and I assumed that it was like a rebate type of thing where I could choose later so I didn’t ask. Then I found out after I had gotten the refrigerator delivered that they and I had both dropped the ball on that. Other than that, my ref comes in a black enamel color which is very unusual for appliances these days so I didn’t need to replace all my appliances when I replaced my refrigerator and it was the number one thing that I wanted.

We moved into a house that had a Viking refrigerator and weve been using it since then. The quality of the ref is okay and I liked the inside of it. I know really good things about Viking and I have a positive association with them. But when some of the handles on the refrigerator door kept coming loose, I was disappointed because I had the expectation that their products were so high in quality. Other than that, however, I like the Viking ref. The ref door just needs to be tightened with an Allen wrench, but its annoying to have to keep doing that. Im sure there are other models and if I picked the ref myself, I may not have picked that exact model. For one thing, it doesnt have an ice maker in the door. But Im pretty satisfied with it. Viking is a well-known name in the industry and their range was the highest and top of the line range we can use without a direct overhead exhaust. However, we didnt have a good experience with it. Every time the exhaust fan came on, it vibrated and made a terrible noise. It was intolerable. Their service guy said it wasnt leveled but it was leveled fine when it was installed. Nobody could figure out why it was making the noise when the exhaust fan came on. I said, Obviously, somethings loose. Its vibrating. And it took them seven trips, two different service companies, to figure out what it was and it doesnt do it anymore. It was very frustrating on our behalf. Wed probably not buy their product again because of that. It was also delivered with a broken grate on top too. I had to go into the showroom and exchange it for the grate they had on the display. From day one, when it was delivered with a broken grate, right away I was upset. If I spent $500 or $1,200 for a range, Im okay. But it was $5,000 so Im expecting something to be worth $5,000, not a vibrating thing that was making noise. I have a service contract that I paid another $500 for so they have to come to me. It looks beautiful and it works great now, but the first year and a half was a disaster. And Im not quite sure how they fixed it and if its gonna hold up long enough. It was probably dropped or mishandled during its original shipment from its factory to its final destination that was why these problems came. Till today, its working fine, but Im not happy with the whole experience and would definitely not recommend it.

Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.

The Viking refrigerator is good although some of the soft close drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator dont exactly soft close but Im not gonna go crazy over that as much as that thing cost us. I called Viking and they gave me the number of a place for repair people but those guys still havent gotten back to me and it has been a month. They call me and tell me that theyre gonna set something up but then they never call back with an appointment. We have brand new Viking appliances and spent a lot of money on them. Ive never been able to use my steam oven because it didnt come with a drip pan. I called Viking for that and they told me that its on backorder and that I would have it in three weeks. That was three months ago. I like the way my Viking appliances look but when they break down, theyre impossible to fix. I have better luck with my other appliances. I had a GE Monogram before and there were no problems. If I had a problem with it, their repair guys would be at my place the next day. Still, my Viking refrigerator which has a full fridge and a full freezer has held a lot of stuff. I can put three weeks of groceries in it. I recommend Viking for the look but Im not happy that their stuff was really expensive and now they arent working already.

I moved into a new house and Viking was part of the appliance package. There was a Viking range and hood but there was no refrigerator, so I got a Viking refrigerator for continuity of the kitchen. The quality of the refrigeration is great and I don’t have any complaints about it. Its lighting is really great. If I nudge the doors though, they dent easily but I’m happy with Viking’s quality.

I wanted the Viking Ranges look and also wanted it for the resale value. Everybody says Viking is top of the line but its beat up and cheap. The quality was not as I expected. Ive had one for over a year now and am disappointed because Ive had cosmetic issues with it though the repairs have been great. I also have had troubles with the handles turning off. The knobs are hitting the screws that hold it going to the front panel so then I’ve got a really loud rattle with the exhaust fan. Its amazing when it cools down and the skillet pans rattling on it. It gets so loud it disrupts conversations. Luckily, its still under warranty and they’re gonna take care of it when they come back.Apart from that, I like the way it performs. It cooks well. Also, the whole customer service experience was overwhelming but was better than expected. I was doing a DIY project and had issues with the cabinets so it took a long time to get the range unpacked and installed. But they treated me very well. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my Viking experience.

I was expecting a little more from the Viking dealer and I thought they should be more knowledgeable, however, they were just average. Also, the refrigerator was overpriced, but it’s okay. One day, I looked at my refrigerator section and the temperature rose a little bit like 46 degrees. Then I looked at the freezer and it’s frozen and I didnt know why. I unplugged it for a day then restarted it. It’s okay for now and it’s been months since then. I tried to call customer support about the issue because there was warranty. I made a schedule but then I canceled it.

We bought an entire kitchen of Viking appliances in September 2019. This included a dishwasher, gas range, and double ovens. The double ovens broke less than 3 months after installation. The lower oven would not turn off and the series of buttons on the control panel fell inside the housing. After 2 weeks of calling, they sent a repair service to diagnose the problem. The circuit board was melted from heat. They came back a few days later and said it was a bad design and would fail again. 1 day later it failed again. Now we have been without ovens thru the Christmas holidays and the entire month of January. This equipment is junk and we wasted $20,000.

We have had Viking for the past 12 years. I chose to buy Viking because I love to cook and I love the way you can cook and the refrigeration and the ovens work. This refrigeration we have has improved a lot from the one that we had before. My favorite thing about it is that the fruits last a little bit longer than a regular refrigerator and that the door works better because it’s make out of solid material. But I’ve been having a lot of trouble taking the stickers out of the inside of the refrigerator. I had tried everything and I still have two and a half stickers that I haven’t been able to take away. Also, its a little expensive but I will highly recommend Viking.

Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice
Viking 6-burner Gas Range - Viking authorized repairman has been out twice for my 6-year-old Viking, each time to replace all ignitors and the seal around the door glass. This is extremely expensive and unbelievable that a commercial range cannot take a daily 20-minute usage of the broiler without wearing out in 3 years time. The excuse I was given was that most people dont broil and their stoves last much longer; and that they mostly go out to dinner. What kind of bologna is this? I wouldnt mind repairing it every 3 years because it really does cook food very well when it is working, but the last time I had it repaired, which was a week ago, it cost me about $800 and I expect it will be even higher in the next 3 years! Isnt there a way for all of us to do a class action lawsuit against Viking? Please let me know if this is in the works because there are so many of us with the same story.

When we bought the house, the owner bought all Viking appliances but have never used it. When we came here in the house, everything was brand new. We have the Viking refrigerator for three years now and it is a good quality appliance. But I was surprised that within those years, there was some water leaking from the freezer and then the refrigerator was broken. But the Viking team was very helpful and someone came here and fixed it. Other than we have to have the service, its door has more spaces compared to other refrigerators and they have a bunch of options. And we can also cool fast with it.

Viking Ranges was one of the higher-end ranges in the store where we bought it. Having the same size burners on all four on top was attractive to us and the ability to clean up the top compared to some of the other ones. It didnt take long to install the range but we had problems with it for almost two months. The stove wouldnt light on the first try and it took several tries for it to light. We had a technician in. He had to come back four times before he was finally able to figure out what was wrong with it. It was easy enough to get the reps. They come and do it, and think they had it fixed. Wed call them back and then, it would take them a week to come back but they were good to deal with. Were generally happy. The broiler is amazing in it.

The first Viking refrigerator that was delivered off of the truck was dirty. The seams were split and the logo on the front was crooked. The truck people looked it over after taking the plastic off and put it right back on the truck. They rejected it before I did. It was 10 days until I got a new one and the second one has been good so far. We like it but I have one minor complaint. I have to turn off the ice maker because if I let it fill completely, opening the freezer drawer will knock a bunch of ice on the floor. I dont use that much ice and the ice tray is oversized anyway. Other than that, my Viking is high quality and it works well.

I liked the durability. However, I am so unhappy. I purchased the refrigerator then right away, I noticed a sound. I called in two weeks after I purchased the refrigerator because of the sound. Viking sent a repair person. They replaced the motor. And now, it has another sound that’s bugging me, so I rescheduled another appointment. I realized I had felt it but I was always in a hurry. The handles are giving shocks off. I had an electrician go in yesterday. And for some reason, he passed by the refrigerator with his gadget to detect electricity, and there’s electricity running through the handles where we open it. And he said, “Whoa, call them immediately tomorrow. Get them over here. This could be dangerous.”I was talking to Viking regarding this and I paid $4,000 for this refrigerator. They were sending me repair people. And Pacific Sales told me they only had a 14-day exchange, and Viking will only do repairs. Now, with this issue, I want a replacement. I dont want to settle for a repair but they want to keep repairing everything, so I’m going to call them this morning and see how were going to address this issue.

I truly love my Viking range. I got it for less than half price, so I was happy. It was a floor model, an upgrade for a good price for what I was planning on getting for our kitchen, and it looks awesome. I use it a lot. I just wish it had a lower blow. It is kind of thermonuclear sometimes. Also, I wish that the oven would heat up a little faster. It seems to take longer than the range we had before, which was a much lower end. Other than that, it is all good. I would totally tell people to go for Viking.

Our Viking Professional Kitchen included an under counter bar fridge. It worked for less than a month before needing repairs. About every three months after that, it would suddenly just stop working. Parts for repair would take up to a month and a half. I tried talking to Viking but they would not accept that this product was a lemon and maintained that it was covered by warranty (so why should I complain). They didnt get the issue was that we paid way more for a high-end product that worked for only a few months total out of the first year. It has been repaired a half dozen times now (appears to be a poorly designed electronics control - not a compressor).Fortunately, we purchased extended warranty as the same problem has occurred again. Once again, its a month or more waiting for parts. Our Extended warranty is over this fall. If something goes wrong after that, then we are on our own. I will toss it and buy another brand. No problem with any other Viking products, but based on the terrible Viking corporate response, I would not buy from them again. Wolf /Sub-Zero is a better combination if you are springing for high-end appliances.

I was in a time crunch so I had to make a split-second decision, and I heard that Viking had pretty good reviews. This was the first range I got as a six-burner gas range and it was horrible. Whenever we would turn on the oven, it would make a loud banging noise like a gunshot in my house. The repairman came out and drilled holes in the bottom of my new unit. He said that would fix it because of the expansion of the heat heating up the metal. He did that and left, and afterwards it was worse than before. This was a $7,000 unit that was recommended by one of the Viking people. We went back and forth with Viking and they sent out a new one. The new one came after a couple of weeks of arguing, and the top was all scratched. The black part of the iron grates was peeling off. I opened the door and the door was bent. There was a quarter-inch gap you could see on the installation inside. I finally had them take it back again and I tried getting my money back. They didn’t reimburse me the whole thing for some reason, so I lost $800 on the deal. I went with a whole new different range. I would not recommend them and I would never purchase another Viking product.

But once I paid, I was had a hard time getting updates on the delivery date. Another thing was the range was too expensive. Viking oven would probably be great if I could read the temperature or oven settings, but they wiped off years ago. No we have a very expensive oven that really cant be used because you dont know the temperature it is set on. I called Viking and they would only sell me another panel that would do the same thing. IMO this is not something that should happen within the lifetime of the unit!! If I were the manufacturer of a high end product like this, and this happen I would offer to make it right!! This could be a simple and inexpensive fix, but the refuse. I would rather have a oven from a old mobile home than this!! I dont even think Viking will even contact me about this to make it right. The builders put Viking in the brand-new house which Ive only had for over two and a half years now. And Ive had trouble with both my refrigerator and my stove. Although, I had Vikings before and the refrigeration was okay parts of it get really, really cold and even the bottom drawer actually freezes things. I was disappointed within a few months after we got it. The dairy product holders were both cracked and when you open the door, all the butter falls out. It took me a very long time to get it fixed because the dealer’s contractor was not responsive. I was informed that the warranty on that was only three months, which I thought was crazy on Viking since a Viking product is so expensive. It took me over a year to get that done and even spent the year leaving messages back and forth and got me assisted for it to be taken care of. I ended up just finding the manufacturer and ordering the part myself. I paid for $370 a piece which I thought wasnt right. I didn’t speak with a Viking customer service but I dealt with Ferguson which was the distributor that sold the Viking to the contractor. The experience was not okay. I had to get really mad and involve the contractor to get it done. The rep felt really bad once I called the contractor in and promised that would never happen again. So, I havent signed with Vikings again. I’ve heard another person in this neighborhood who has Vikings and had the same problem with her dairy product holder.

I was looking at the Viking refrigerator and it was fit for what I wanted it for. It was also better priced than most of the other commercial units, so I decided to purchase it. I have it in my home for a year in May now and its a good refrigerator. But I had problems with it and I had technicians out here at least four times to work on it.I had a tech out twice for the icemaker when it wasnt working. Something had burned out in there so they had to come and replace that. From what I could tell, these repairmen were not familiar with these products, so they were not too sure. They were constantly making phone calls asking someone else how to do things but most of all, it was like some of these things were failing inside of the refrigerator. I also had a problem with the water dispenser. The rubber over it was broken and Viking shipped one part out. Then the repairman was out for that but it still didn’t work properly. So now, I’ve been waiting for this thing to be fixed and it has been three months. Aside from that, the BlueZone bulb burned out when it should not be going out after only seven months. I didn’t even have the refrigerator for a year. So, I had to buy another bulb which was a hundred bucks. Then, the refrigerator kept beeping after I replaced the BlueZone bulb, so I had to call somebody to come out to turn off this annoying beep. It was weird. All in all, Viking hasnt fine-tuned some of the little things on their product and everything there needs to be looked at. Even the replacement parts werent fitting and I don’t understand it. It’s also a little disappointing. I haven’t even paid the thing off and I’ve had the service guy five times out. They need to care more about customer service, too. The refrigerator is under a three-year manufacturer’s warranty but they wouldn’t replace the bulb. First, they told me that they didn’t have the bulb. So, I got the bulb at no cost. Then I didn’t hear anything, so I followed up with them and they said that I had to go back to my dealer, buy the bulb from them, and let them come and install it. Not only that, when I called Viking, they didn’t have the bulb in stock and I had to wait four months for someone to get this stupid bulb in stock. But Viking sells an $11,000 refrigerator, so they gotta have the replacement parts.

I don’t like Viking appliances. I’ve had issues with the ice maker ever since I bought my refrigerator. They came out one time and replaced it because they said there was a fly in it. After they fixed it, it worked for about six months. And then I have to always pull the bin out, empty it out, clean it out and put it back in so it could work again. Now it doesn’t work at all. I’ve called Appliance Masters and they’ve been out many times. The repairman comes and he says nothing is wrong with it but I still have an issue. At this point, I have no warranty on it but I need someone to come out and actually fix it. I ordered the part to change it myself. The dealers were nice. But as far as when I emailed them, I got absolutely no response.I’ve had my dishwasher for seven years and when I turn it on, it runs over three hours and I have to open the door and see if it’s clean or dry. I never know how long it’s supposed to take. I never knew from the beginning because it never ran a full cycle. When I open it, I see all this water and soap in the bottom. I wash my dishes by hand. The water is sitting there. I have to spoon it out or cup it out because it starts to smell after a while. It’s a big issue for me because I’ve never been able to have a full cycle of clean dishes. When I called this last time to get somebody to help me with my appliances, the repairman told me he gets a negative call every single day and he’s always apologizing to the customers when they call. Consumers like me don’t know who to contact to say their complaint to. The sales guy was telling me that he gets this kind of call every single day. Generally, I’m easygoing and I don’t really like complaining about anything. But when it comes to a point when somebody’s so top-notch, I get very disappointed because of the name.Viking has a name like Mercedes-Benz. I was thinking I was getting the best and I was very wrong because if Viking was so great, their appliances would work properly. And even if I get a lemon, I understand that at least it could be fixed when someone comes out to check it. I was disappointed. I would not recommend Viking to anybody. I would not recommend the places I called for service for Viking. They just can’t fix it. I used to have a GE and it’s in my garage now. It works a lot better than Viking and I’ve had that a lot longer.

Viking Refrigeration is supposedly one of the best brands in the market and my wife likes them better than the others. I’m a hundred percent satisfied with the quality. We had issues that I didn’t expect because of the price of my refrigerator but I’m not gonna say it’s a bad or terrible refrigerator and they replaced it so I cannot complain at this point, although this is mostly what I feel should not happen. Our Viking refrigerator is huge and the freezer is on the left side while the refrigerator is on the right. My wife, three adult daughters, and I are very careful at home and don’t beat up our kitchen appliances. But the drawers are breaking apart and the shelves and door shelves were disintegrating which is really weird and that I would not expect from a refrigerator with a price tag that Viking has. I assume they crack with the cold. I was very surprised and I really expected a little bit more. So I called the warranty and they sent me new ones.I had an issue with a microwave that Viking ended up fixing, though I wasn’t happy at all with the first company that came. Then I had another issue with a cooktop and the company that came to do the repair was very good. When I buy appliances with a price tag of Viking, I expect their life to be longer. The problems we had are not terrible and would not keep me from buying Viking again in the future, but I was disappointed that I had much more issues with the microwave and cooktop, that I did not expect with luxurious appliances such as Viking.

The refrigerator is four years old and one evaporator in the unit leaked so it froze the whole bottom of the refrigerator. Viking covered the part, which I appreciated. But, I had to pay for the labor. I have heard that that had been an issue with some of their units, but they have also improved their warranty since I purchased. So I was thinking, if the parts had not been covered, I probably would have bought another one --and I would have gone with another Viking-- because I am looking at 3,000 versus maybe 7,000. Right now, I have a year on the parts. The appliance repair people I dealt with were pleasant and courteous. They made sure whether or not there was a warranty on the parts. They were timely to come out, they came back out quickly, and did the job that I thought was an excellent repair. When I pulled on the one bottom drawer, because I did not realize the bottom was frozen at that time, I broke the handle. So, they ordered a replacement part for me, which I picked up yesterday. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product. Its performance is great as far as what it is supposed to do. I like the built-in look with the wood panel of the refrigerator and I like the fact that it keeps the vegetables fresher the way the airflow is versus a standard one.

I always wanted Viking appliances. I love to cook, so it is a brand that was instilled in me that is quality and a professional kitchen. Initially, I should have looked. I went to Best Buy to look at them, but I ordered these online, and I never really tested them out. I like certain things that I bought, but there were certain things I don’t like. I like the refrigerator because it’s large. But I’ve seen others that the inside interiors are better made, more stylish, and the placement of the shelves are a lot more intuitive than the Viking. The doors and the bins are fine. It’s just the placement of them is not as functional as we thought it would be. We like the soft-close doors but we didn’t expect it to be so small inside being a 48-inch. We thought it’d be a lot larger because we had other appliances like LG or Samsung, and those were standard-sized, and they seemed to have more space. I like the Viking because of the aesthetics. It’s a beautiful refrigerator. But in terms of functionality, it’s just plain-Jane. It’s a $10,000 fridge so I was expecting more. It’s a 48-inch refrigerator, and its freezer is tiny, unfortunately.

We were replacing our old Thermador and I assumed Viking was a fairly good product. I like the look of them but I’m a little disappointed. It is not very good and I would tell others to rethink their decision to buy one. My oven has been installed for two months and I have had repairmen here for the last two months as well. Hinges on the oven were bent. They finally came and fixed that. But they had to get the feet for the oven because they didn’t have them when they installed the oven. Now, I’m having a problem with my burners. It has taken me two visits and they’re still not fixed. And every time they come out, there is a time period in between of two weeks. Then the repairman was telling me today that it is going to take probably another two weeks. When he came out previously, he seemed to have been of the forethought that what he was being told was not gonna fix it. And yet, he was still told to come out here and do it. So he came out here and did he was told but it still didn’t work. Now, they have to order all new burners. Its just ongoing after two months. It’s been a roundabout, circular motion here with this whole thing. I was very angry to begin with but now, I don’t even know anymore. It’s two months and $10,000, and I haven’t really even used the oven. Viking also needs to be more responsive. Initially, they kept calling to ask if everything was good and I kept saying no. It was great that they called but then it wavered and petered out. Viking has dropped off as far as calling to see if anything has been done and now, it’s me dealing with the repair people.

Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken and all the local warranty reps you outsource to are saying is Viking switched its distributor two times so you will have to wait longer? How about some lemon laws here. I called Viking directly and the brain dead receptionists can not get me to the right person. Why? Because they cant fathom why someone with a California phone number lives in Texas. Gee, if you want to be elite Viking, you might want to consider that your customers have multiple homes in other areas. I regret buying a Viking Dishwasher (POS does not even have heated dry), Viking Range (delivered broken), Viking Microwave (over priced Kitchen Aid) and Viking D3 Fridge (Broken on Delivery). I have yet to get a customer service rep to call me back. No one is empowered to make a decision. I will be buying Wolf/SubZero next time.

We had good luck with our Viking dishwasher and we really liked that a lot so we ended up doing the Viking refrigerator. We bought it from Best Buy and the woman was really knowledgeable and knew the brand well. She made the experience easy. I like that the Viking refrigerator is a counter-depth unit that we didnt have to have a built in. It was perfect for what we were looking for cause we didnt want to remodel the kitchen right away. The refrigerator also doesnt mark up easily and its perfectly designed. The drawers, cabinets and storage spaces are very well-organized. We dont have any problems shifting things around.

We rebuild our house in 2006 and decide to get top quality appliance for kitchen. After 5 years we have problem when warranty was over. Refrigerator was not cooling. We spend $700.00. Few month after icemaker was not working. We call authorize dealer tech. They charge $500. Few month after that cold water dispenser is not working. After couple of year again all same problem. Now in 2016 again same it was not cooling. Water dispenser is not working one after other. So far we spend @ $2500 for repair. It is not worth to spend $6000 to buy this build in 48 inch refrigerator. We have another GE refrigerator for 20 years no problem at all.

Do not buy. We purchased a Viking Cooktop and Wall oven 7 years ago. We believed we were paying for top of the line equipment. Within two years the lettering that identifies the temperature settings on both wall oven and cooktop had worn off. Now, the only way to know what temperature youre cooking on is by looking at the manual for reference. We spoke with Viking and they said this is not covered under any warranty because its cosmetic. If you are looking for quality in product and customer service, keep looking. Very, very disappointed in how they stand behind their very expensive product.

I love my Viking refrigerator. It had the most square footage and Im a fan. Also, the quality is great and I like the multi-cooling zone cause its more adjustable than my last fridge. But theres a manufacturing defect and the piece hadnt been put together correctly and it was already cracking. And the tech person came and he said, You paid money for this. You should get a new drawer. So I called the parts people and after waiting on hold for an hour, I finally got someone who said they would be sending something over. It was supposed to be here two weeks ago and it hasnt arrived yet. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was wonderful. And I was going to have to leave for the next day so I just had to wait. And then they told me the part was two weeks back ordered which was rather unfortunate. But even though, its not the guys fault. And theyre very nice but I just felt it was a little inefficient.

Our order, which was installed in Dec. 2016, included a 7 series propane cook top, 5 series oven, 3 series upgrade dish washer, 48 side by side refrigerator, and 950 cfm downdraft vent system. The washer has been the most disappointing appliance of the lot. It has less capacity inside than our previous Kenmore washer and weve had to replace the racks due to a binding problem. There is also an intermittent problem with the control panel on the washer. On the cook top, the small burner does not light reliably and the design of the cook top makes cleanup a real chore after every use. The performance of the cook top, oven, and refrigerator is great other than the problems mentioned.

I finally got a whole set of the Viking Professional at Fergusons. The refrigerator has been installed for one year now and so far, I like it. It’s a tall refrigerator with a big door. The freezer is at the bottom and is spacious, then there’s a drawer that comes out where you could put meat or veggies. You can see everything, and nothing gets lost. Weve always had Sears products so this is very different. It’s so beautiful and it looks so professional like it belongs in a restaurant.

I have defrosted it 3 times in the 8 months weve lived here. The repairman from the local company that services Viking appliances is here for the third time, and now thinks that the ice build up behind the inside wall is so great that it continues to cause the interior of the refrigerator to build up ice. Weve been having a lot of problems with our refrigerator. From the beginning, the freezer side would not seal properly and we couldnt figure out why. The contractor took a look at the door and he realized that the seal thing was disconnected. It took them three or four weeks to get the part here to get it fixed and meanwhile, our freezer was working really hard but that got fixed. But from the get-go, our fridge has been super loud. At first, we thought it was because the cabinet up above was a little loose. We tightened that cabinet up and the fridge is still super loud. Were still going back and forth with Wiking and it is not resolved. Its just a bunch of escalation to somebody who doesnt call back. The people are very nice at Viking but nothing has really been accomplished. Its not the right fridge to buy for $10,000. We should have bought a different fridge.

Viking built in double door refrigerator is two years old and is terrible, I have had four service calls to fix it. The first time it simply shut down and stopped working, the service tech replaced the inverter and then it has started leaking water all over the floor. I have now called four times to have it fixed. The local, West Coast Regional Office is a joke. They dont even answer the phone. When they do answer I get the run-around until I insist they send someone to fix it, which then takes two or three days. And then, three weeks later the same thing happens. The unit has a three year warranty and Viking is refusing to honor it. They are just the worst example of customer service I can imagine. My advice is to avoid the purchase of any of their products.

The griddle is awesome and my husband loves all of the burners. It’s also pretty to look at. I ordered it through a catalog and when it was delivered, the delivery people left it outside of my house. They said they would come back to bring it in the house. Then they said it was damaged. I tried to have it picked up by them, but they wouldn’t do it. They said my husband signed that it was okay. My sons had to bring it into the house and when they brought it in, they broke one of the knobs off. But otherwise, the stove was not damaged. We had Viking range many years ago in our other home. We purchased again and when I got the oven, three months later, it stopped working. So I called the distributor that I bought it from and they contacted Viking and got the approval for warranty repair. Then they had a local service company contact me to take care of the problem. The contractors were fine. The issue with the Viking oven is that the hinges were either the wrong hinges or installed improperly. The oven did not close and stay closed. So during baking, it would overheat and a safety feature would kick in and turn the oven off. It was disappointing to have an oven that we had thought was really a good product, come and basically stop working, not being usable within three months. The service repairman replaced two parts that he thought were temperature-related. But it turned out that it was the door not staying closed that was causing the oven to malfunction. Its working fine now that the door stays closed. I like the range itself now that it works.

I purchased a new home with a Viking VWH3648SS professional style residential range hood to accompany the Viking Range that was installed below. It is fitted with a 1200CFM in-line blower. The package cost close to $2500 new. We use our kitchen daily for a family of 4. At the 8 year point, the lighting control knob began to loosen. Eventually, we called an authorized Viking Service provider called, Mr. Appliance They sent out a repairman who worked on the hood and seemed to have repaired the problem. But within three or four weeks, the knob came loose again. We called and the head honcho from Mr. Appliance came to fix the problem. We thought that was the end. Fast forward 5 years later and the knob loosens again. Not wanting to spend another several hundred dollars, I decided to address the problem myself. As an degreed engineer, I am not one to avoid a technical challenge.I pulled the hood switch panel apart only to discover that the switch had been tie wrapped into place. Over the years, heat, vibration and usage caused the tie wrap to stretch. The proper way to have made the repair was to remove the switch face plate which is held in place by the fan, lights and heating lamp rocker switches (spring clips). This provides access to an underlying nut plate to which the control should have been mounted using a 1/2 inch nut. In the process of disassembly, I discovered that the control thread, made of nylon or plastic, had been stripped which might explain why a tie wrap had been used. I ordered a new part for $58 and mounted it correctly, adding a lock nut to the assembly. But thats not the biggest problem. Upon disassembling the hood, I discovered inaccessible areas to be caked with grease so thick that it took a scraper to remove. This grease was checked separately as being flammable. The recess areas and sockets where hot halogen light and heat bulbs sit was particularly thick with burned grease. There were pools of liquid and solid grease in inaccessible areas of the hood that if ignited during a pan fire or electrical fire would provide fuel to burn the surrounding wood cabinets, the drywall and the exposed studs behind the hood covering. Mind you, these areas are not normally accessible for cleaning by a consumer. In my attempt to clean and repair this poorly constructed product, I was exposed to razor sharp sheet metal edges and burrs which had not been properly or safely machined during the manufacturing process. Particularly dangerous is the access holes surrounding the range hood lights where a consumer might attempt to clean only to be cut in the process. There are dozens of complaints in various internet review sites that complain about this issue in consumer accessible parts like the filter elements. Any machine shop professional will tell you that Viking Range has used improper technique in their manufacturing process which expose service people to the possibility of serious cuts.A call to Viking Range customer service resulted in the answer: We dont recommend that consumers access these areas and any tampering will void the warranty. Of course, the warranty is long expired. There didnt seem to be any concern (or understanding) by the Viking Range person of the dangerous design that Viking Range has released to the market.I have video taped my work and after I have a chance to edit the raw material, I will post the shocking videos and will be sending a copy to the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) for recall consideration. This range hood is a fire danger and a health hazard that should be addressed with the thousands of customers who unknowingly have installed this product.I would love to see responses from authorized (or freelance) service personnel with opinions on these issues. By the way, the Viking Range VGRC365-6BD commercial grade open burner gas range that accompanies this hood is just as poorly constructed with dangerous sharp edges. It is a nightmare to clean. Never again a Viking Range product.

We have a Viking refrigerator and have had the repair person out several times to repair the many problems. I tried to get another repair person out here but they tell me I am in his area and no one else is to repair my refrigerator. This repair persons experience is a 1 from 1 to 10. I stopped calling him and started to repair the refrigerator myself and I have no training at all. I have replaced the strip across the top. I have replaced one of the thermistors and now I need to replace the other one. I have replaced the freezer fan, the refrigerator fan. The alarm is starting to go off at different times day and night. I have had water drain all over our wooden floor several times and its starting to show water stains now. I have had to take everything out of the Viking and put it in the GE in the garage. So, I can unplug the ice in the defroster outlet in the freezer. We have had several problems with our microwave, now the numbers will not show up and the part cost $210 dollars. I have put up with this problem for several months. It takes the oven a long time to heat up. I have spent several thousands of dollars on Viking products and what a bunch of ** their products are. The repair person that did come out said the Viking products keep him busy. He told me that he has less trouble with the GE Monogram and he thinks they are the best. Im about ready to take this refrigerator to the dump and get a GE.

The Viking range has all the features I wanted and a good reputation for being a quality product. It lasts a long time with not a lot of maintenance issues. We wanted a blue range to match our blue kitchen, so we got a custom one. The first one that we received was a disaster. It never worked from the minute we got it. The spring on the door was damaged so the oven never shut properly. Every time it got up to a high temperature, it would drop suddenly down and just remain there. Every day, they sent a bunch of people out to look at it and the whole process was annoying. After a lot of complaining, they finally replaced it. But even if they could have fixed it, I still wouldn’t have wanted it. Why would I want a defective stove that didn’t work from the second it was installed? It was definitely not an easy process. They were blaming the distributor and each step that we had to go through was very frustrating to deal with. The brand new range doesn’t bake well at all. My wife tries every day to bake in it but it burns. We got the dual range with the gas top and convection electric oven. The gas range itself is great, but the actual oven is not very accurate in terms of temperature. The way it cooks food is very inconsistent and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who wants to do a lot of baking. I would like to take an actual temperature reading on it because it seems to cook hot. Im overall disappointed with this product.

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didnt like that at all. On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, Id probably go with the dealer thats close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldnt install the back part because there wasnt enough room. And we didnt know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadnt seen it. Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. Its a beautiful stove and it works great. Its also functional and very effective. Its commercial great, too, so its worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. In 30 years, Ive never replaced an interior part on a refrigerator. Viking said the interior pieces are only under warranty for 30 days. Relays have been replaced, the motherboard, and in October the compressor died and was still under warranty. The part was promised by Hadco and then rescinded. It took well over 3 months for the part to come into the dealer. Meanwhile, I had to buy a new refrigerator. I was supposed to go through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a working refrigerator. After the part was finally sent, they sent a customer satisfaction survey. Why they bother, I do not know. They have the worst product and service I have ever encountered. I will never buy another Viking product. Ive shared my experience with everyone I can to spare them my inconveniences.
