Viking is highly ranked. At the time of my purchase, there was also a good deal for getting all Viking. Aside from the discount, they threw in a free dishwasher. I like Vikings ovens. But the quality of the professional stoves is better than the refrigerator. It was made in Mexico and not quite the same as their professional level refrigerators. But its pretty good. I like that the styling was all matching too. The only thing is one of the status lights is out in the refrigerator already. It just happened.

We wanted a happy marriage of performance and utility so we figured wed buy Viking. One of the big things involved in my purchase was BTUs, the power of the burners. I had something which was similar but the Viking range outperformed anything that Ive ever used. Its so much more efficient. I also have their microwave and we’ve had zero issues with it. Were super happy with it. I had paid for installation and delivery because that was part of the whole package. But with COVID, they couldnt do it. I just got my handyman to come and install it and it was super easy. The performance has been amazing. I love cooking on it. Its one of those free-standing ranges. However, the convection oven button blew out in about a month which kind of surprised me. I had used it once. Once I turned the convection oven on, I could not turn itself off. It was still under warranty so I did call Viking. The people at Viking were amazing. They were like, “Yes, absolutely. Its all covered. Its a brand new appliance. That should have never happened.” The service technicians that they contracted out to, not so much. I live in Austin and it took them forever. It ran for two days straight before they could come out and turn it off. Then they told me that there was some circuit that was broken so they needed to order a part. They came out and said they had the part. Five minutes later, the guy said it was the wrong part and left. I received no communication to the point where I had to reach out to Viking. I wrote them a very lengthy email saying, “Im not happy. This is not what I expected out of a premium product. This may not be you directly, but this is your contractor. I havent heard from them. Theres no timeline and its been months. Finally, it got fixed after multiple trips three weeks ago. That was not super nice.

I’ve known about Viking Refrigerators for years and I purchased from them because of the warranty. I’m happy overall with the fridge, but I expected a little better quality of the drawer pull-outs and the freezer. They’re kind of flimsy. Also, during the purchasing process, I had a horrible experience as it took forever to get the fridge purchased. It was not a streamlined process. And when we were having this horrendous noise, we ended up having to go back to the store two or three times before they would finally send somebody out. It turned out that their delivery people left a big cardboard in the back which was causing the problems. All we had to do was remove it. I also wish the fridge had a water dispenser.

Have a VCSB5482DSS which replaced a VCSB48OSS. Same problems. Its a nightmare. It leaked from a part that I had to identify then the pan constantly overflows because the heating element doesnt work to evaporate the water and the ice maker doesnt work. Viking gave me a half priced new refrigerator replacement. It was still $6000 plus. THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS!!! NIGHTMARE. NEVER BUY A VIKING REFRIGERATOR.

Our Viking 48 two door refrigerator: After two years it stopped working; drawers, shelves, plastic trim, refrigerator side door interior panels cracking, and both door seals in desperate need of replacement. After reading so many complaints about Viking appliances we just decided to wait and get more familiar with this expensive brand. In the mean time we went to Lowes and got a Samsung as a spare. Not sure on how to proceed, the Viking refrigerator was turned off and unplugged for three years. After the three years, we called Viking; Viking replaced the compressor, but we had to pay for all the expensive labor and all the other expensive replacement parts including the ice maker and both door seals. The refrigerator interior door panel is expensive and not worth of replacement. The refrigerator started to leak right after it was serviced from the freezer every time the freezer defrosts. Our 48 Viking Freestanding Gas Range: The knobs on the front of the range get very hot when using the ovens. The lettering and markings on the range disappeared. Oven doors dont close correctly. After three years, we started to smell gas coming from both ovens when in use. The ovens would not heat up properly, had to replace all three oven igniters. The large oven door/hinges stuck and we could not get the door to open or close, had all door hinges replaced on both doors. As a contractor, I find it amazing that I keep seeing Viking Appliances in multimillion dollar homes. My best guess is that these Viking appliances are there for appearance purposes only. Viking Appliance is the worst brand. Viking appliances are only worth the metal that they are made of. DO NOT even look at a Viking Appliance. I encourage all owners of any Viking appliance to be truthful and help the next victim that maybe looking to buy the Viking brand.

I was familiar with the Viking brand and it felt that I like the quality better than the alternative brand. The only problem is that its supposed to be fixed. The knobs that turn the gas on and off don’t pop out as they should. Some of them are maybe defective and even the ones that appear to work well really aren’t very good. The other day I was walking by it and I had a shoulder bag and it swung and just bumped against the range. And the gas went on full blast and flames were coming up about a few inches. So it literally turned on the whole stove by just swinging against it, which is concerning for everyone. I’ve never experienced that with the other range before so I would definitely redesign that system to be safer.

We bought our Viking 6-burner range used, with very low usage on it. It looked all pretty with the stainless parts, and worked well... for a year or two. After a while, Ive noticed the lack of stainless parts and fasteners where it matters. This thing is just a rust-bucket. We live in an area where steel is not particularly prone to corrosion - the lousy materials are to blame. Rusty, creaky door hinges (maybe that is why our door actually stays closed :-o). Rotting gas oven burner. The pan under the grates has rust-through. On and on. If I thought this was a long-term keeper, Id order a truckload of igniters for the oven, as they go out regularly. If I had to pay someone to work on this, it would be much cheaper to buy something else. Rubbish! Id rather have an old 55-gallon drum and scrap wood than another one of these.

I’ve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. It’s got a simple design and I still find it reliable.

8 years ago we did a total renovation to our kitchen and chose to put in a 48 Viking range/hood. This undoubtedly was our most expensive purchase. In the last 7 years I have had nothing but problems. 2 of the burners never light unless done with a match. I am now on my 3rd thermostat for the broiler, I have been waiting 3 MONTHS for this part... Again!!! The oven thermostat has been replaced 2 times. Of course these repairs have cost us $500-$1500. This has been the most disappointing purchase I have ever made. Terrible product and terrible customer service. Dont DO IT... Buy something that backs up its product for more than a year!!!

The techs came in and had to replace the whole shelf because they noticed that it wasn’t glued in from the factory. It came apart. The middle shelf that we had to have repaired that had the deli drawers in it isnt stable enough to put heavy items on it. And there is no other place to put heavy items on it. There should have been a middle bracket in the middle to support it against the back of the refrigerator. The new half freezer and half refrigerator is something new to me. I feel like it’s small. We bought our range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator from Viking. Im not too happy with the refrigerator as weve had an issue from the very beginning when wherein we would get constant beeping. It gives an FR2 error code and beeps and beeps. We close and open it but its constant. Plus, the refrigerator is deceiving as its really big but kinda small on the inside. So, it doesnt fit a lot of things. It doesnt give me water either. We also had an issue with our range. Still, Viking fixed that quickly. The purchase process for my refrigerator was fine and the delivery went okay. Its a nice looking refrigerator.

I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

Our GE refrigerator doesnt have as good as the quality that we expected for the price. The worst part is I cant really get it cleaned. I follow the instructions as to how to get that stainless cleaned and it doesnt do what the manual tells me. It doesnt really look like I would want it to look, which is to look uniform. It doesnt come out even and the surface is so bad to clean that I keep those fiberglass things so that when I open and close the doors, I dont have to do the handles constantly. And the other thing which we didnt know when we purchased it was we just assumed it had an ice maker and it doesnt have an ice maker.

Im an architect and I work for a multifamily development group. One refrigerator wouldn’t go into the defrost cycle. We’ve had two different local appliance repair companies. The resident asked us to replace the fridge because it’s giving him fits and he’s a VIP. This is a penthouse unit, which is why we went with Viking appliances. Now, we’re waiting on a mainboard and a defrosting panel and waiting on parts is very frustrating.Ive had some difficulties with dishwashers too. Its not so much the quality of the manufacturing as it may be how they were installed, unpacked. Some of the soundproofing and gasketing on the bottom of the dishwashers have fallen off. Theyre also a little too high tech for our residents. We had people do a lot of research on how to use the dishwasher.

I’m a previous owner of a Viking range and I’ve also got friends and family that have Viking. Also, years ago, I worked in a commercial industry where the restaurant that we were in used Viking Ranges. I bought a standing range that has an oven underneath and for me, the main feature is the oven. The responsiveness of the oven, the temperature control, and the consistency in its convection oven are excellent. Also, the reason I chose Viking has to do with the type of burners that they have and the difference between a direct flame versus an indirect flame. It really has to do with your cooking preferences. I like direct heat. I like the heat that you can immediately adjust because, with a lot of indirect flames, you still have the cover that holds heat.

The handle on it broke and they sent out a service guy to fix it. I took a video with my phone of exactly what was wrong so there was no reason for them to come out without the part. However, the guy from Viking still came out without the part that he needed. Then, two months later, he came out with the part and fixed the unit. For three months, I had to go without my middle burner thermostat controller working, which was unacceptable for a $7,000 stove. Ive given you guys countless customers when I build homes. Everything in the kitchen is Viking. Ive seen Viking at my other friends house and Ive heard good things about it. And when we went through the website, they gave us several different options and Viking came on top. What I found it interesting is we had different experiences with different pieces. The dishwasher does not dry dishes very well. I dont know whether Im not very familiar with it or if that I have to read the instructions. Also, from a volume point of view, it feels much smaller than an LG or other ones. It looks the same size as everybody elses, but its just bulkier. The range that was put in did not connect the gaps right and it was leaking. I had to bring a plumber back in in order to figure out why it smelled gas in the kitchen. on the other hand, the microwave installation went okay but the techs had a really hard time with installing the double oven. It is too heavy and the installers didnt have the proper equipment and proper training to do it right. We bought the fridge about a month ago. The first time they got the wrong refrigerator, then the right refrigerator, and they had to change it to a new one. They sent the wrong size again, and then they had to come back a week later with the right size. So, from a responding to a customer, Viking has been good. However, we had a problem with the unit. We lost all of the Freon. I was happy about the fact that they were gonna send somebody to repair it. But Viking sent a new one and replaced the refrigerator. From that service point of view, it was very good. The installation is part of what was wrong with it. The first company that installed the fridge, within about two weeks we lost the Freon in it. The next guy that came in told us that it was the way they installed it that probably caused the damage, but it was replaced. When the next guy came in, they hemmed and hawed a bit when they were putting it in but eventually, everything went in okay.

Were from Mississippi, and supporting a local company seems like a good thing to do. We bought our Viking range from Southern Pipe and the sales team seemed to really know their stuff. My wife had a ton of questions for them and weve had good answers. They seemed to have dealt with those questions before or the saleslady might even own one, so she was able to speak about personal experiences too. We like all the features that came with the range and it has been really good. We havent had a gas stove before, so the fact that everything heats up really quickly is awesome to us. Plus it looks really good in our kitchen. We bought it back in the fall, but only got it installed in February, so were still sort of in a trial period of using it. It still feels pretty new, but everything weve thrown at it so far, its done exceptionally. Its the best stove Ive ever owned.

The range is expensive, but you get what you pay for. So, Im very happy. I love the grill top. The Viking range works great, but it doesnt have a couple of key features. There are two things that I would love to see incorporated into the range. One, theres no clock, which makes me a little bit crazy because I’m obsessed with time sometimes. Two, being able to program the oven. Theres no programming feature. With the old oven I had, you could put something in the oven and program it to start baking in an hour or two hours. The range is a professional system and it’s designed for professional kitchens. So maybe some of those retail-oriented features dont come in that model. But it would be good if it did.

Our order, which was installed in Dec. 2016, included a 7 series propane cook top, 5 series oven, 3 series upgrade dish washer, 48 side by side refrigerator, and 950 cfm downdraft vent system. The washer has been the most disappointing appliance of the lot. It has less capacity inside than our previous Kenmore washer and weve had to replace the racks due to a binding problem. There is also an intermittent problem with the control panel on the washer. On the cook top, the small burner does not light reliably and the design of the cook top makes cleanup a real chore after every use. The performance of the cook top, oven, and refrigerator is great other than the problems mentioned.

I did a lot of research on the internet on various high-end stoves and I looked to see about the problems with repairs. I knew that Viking was having a lot of issues before it was bought out a few years ago, but I saw that they had redone a lot of the parts and re-designed them. Their newer reviews were fine, too. They were pretty similar to the other high-end stoves. So, my wife decided Viking was the one she liked the most based on the way it looked. However, there was a scratch which was fairly deep on the stove door. It was installed about a month ago and I didn’t notice until right after the installers left. I was looking at the back of the stove when they took it off the truck. So I called up the store and sent them a picture right away. They acknowledged that it was obviously a problem because its not caused by me. I suggested they just send me a door and I would replace it myself as it is easy to install. I would just send them the old one if they wanted to. But Viking wouldn’t do that for some reason. They sent me a whole new stove. We also got side trim because we have a stone countertop that didn’t have a perfectly straight edge. The side trim makes the stove look like a slide-in type range. We couldn’t use the screws to install the side trim because they stick out and we can’t fit in a normal countertop within a 30-inch distance. It was kind of odd, but it’s no big deal. We just used the side trim and laid it in there, and it worked fine. Other than those, everythings fine. My wife is happy with the Viking stove. She loves it. We like the top of the stove the most. Also, when I had a question about how to remove the lower grate, the Viking rep answered the question right away.

We absolutely love Viking Ranges. My dad had a Viking range and hood for about 15 years and he loved it. He’s an avid cooker and that’s what sold us on Viking. And we’ve not been disappointed. They’re wonderful and fabulous. We went through Best Buy in Fort Lauderdale and they ordered everything for us. We’ve got the range that’s gas, which we were thrilled to get here in Florida since there is no natural gas. We had to put in propane to get that. We’ve also got the hood and the Viking microwave. We didn’t have the microwave for a period because of a problem with the display, but it works fine now. Other than that, it’s great.I also love that the stove top is incredibly easy to clean up. I just have to take the grates right off. We had a décor stove top in our previous house in New Mexico and that one was awful to clean. I like that the gas stove, as well as the oven, seems to cook evenly too. We’re always showing off our Viking appliances. We have pictures of them which we show to people.

Then we went to a couple of places here in town, I researched it on their website and we fell in love with their ref so, we ordered it. This is my first Viking appliance. For the size that it is, it holds a lot of food and were really happy. When we build the new house, Ill probably buy two Viking refrigerators. The only problem we had, and this seems to be not specific to Viking, were the people. We like trying the new things on the market but things that last, and so, we were very pleased with this purchase. But the salespeople werent prepared. Theres more of a market here in San Diego but their salespeople just werent ready to sell it. Either they were too busy or weren’t educated. When we find something that we want, we usually are more educated than the sales people and that seems to be the case with their people. Its something that could still be improved.

I bought a house with a Viking refrigerator in it and since they have a good reputation, we bought a new one to replace the old Viking fridge. The dealer wasnt completely honest though. They said the fridge was a year old and the service person let us know that its older than that. We got a floor model and when it was installed, it wasnt installed completely, so it leaked into the bedroom downstairs. When the service technician came in a couple of days ago, he found that there was a connector at the top of the fridge that wasnt connected, so the shut-off for water overflow was never turned on and the pan under the fridge was overflowing and leaking into the bedroom downstairs. Still, its a nice fridge and we like it, including the look.

I bought a $8,500 Viking Refrigerator in late 2004. When I started having problems in 2017, I called the only appliance repair in Fredericksburg, VA for Viking. They arrived and charged $90 and told me to plug the fridge in after it defrosted. The repairman had taken out the basket and freezer door and took the screws with him. When I called them, they sent me an estimate for $1500. I asked them why $1500 estimate when they didnt run the diagnostics? They said that was the worst case scenario. How can anyone decide whether to repair or not if you dont know whats wrong. I called Viking customer service and they were indifferent. DONT BUY VIKING!

I used Viking previously since they had a good name before and I went with them again. But the quality of the fridge that I purchased from them this time is very bad. It breaks down a lot and the temperature doesn’t work properly in any manner. Also, the space is not very friendly and its so small inside, even though its a big fridge. I called Viking and the reps asked me to register my model, and if I had an issue theyd send a service company to fix the fridge. But my refrigerator only has one-year warranty, so that’s really bad because it breaks down so much.

The Viking refrigerator was in the home when we purchased it, and were now on our third fridge. The first one stopped working. I contacted Trail Appliances where it was purchased and they ignored me. So then, I had to contact Viking directly in Quebec, which is Brigade, and they advised me that the fridge was unrepairable. So then, we waited three months and then we got a new one. After that, our second fridge lasted 23 months, and then it started to melt and the housing cracked. So, I phoned Viking again and they sent a service guy out. This took a couple of weeks, which is a joke, because they dont have anybody locally that knows what to do. So, I waited another couple of weeks for those guys who said that the second fridge was also unrepairable. So, all in all, weve waited almost four months without a fridge because there wasnt one available in North America. Then we were away for a couple of months, and now weve come back. We got our third fridge just before we left, and we turned it on when we got home here a couple of weeks back. But this third fridge never shuts off, so theres another problem with it. I havent phoned Viking yet because Im at my wits end with it. The customer service reps were responsive and the fellow thats in charge of their marketing, Daniel, was quite good and does everything in his power, but this issue with the Viking refrigerator is so screwed up that its just unbelievable.

We wanted a built-in refrigerator and something that would be good quality. We were gonna go with Jenn-Air but we heard that the compressors on the Vikings were better. We were also looking at Sub-Zero but we heard that there was a lot of maintenance that needed to be done every year for their compressors. The people that we talked to said that Viking didn’t have that sort of maintenance requirement and we heard that Viking was really good. So, we went with them. We were also looking for something that was fairly wide and the one that we got from Viking was a pretty big unit. We have it for a while now and our experience has been good. Its quality is okay although some things get really frozen at the top of the refrigerator. There was also a squeak in the door, and people came out and fixed it. After that, we havent heard as much squeaking as before and the refrigerator has been doing all right.

I bought stove of my dreams in 1997 after waiting decades to be able to afford it. It is a Viking 6 burner/with griddle (which I wish I hadnt gotten), double gas ovens. Since day one the ovens smell like gas while on. I have to run my ventilator while the oven is on to keep the odor under control. I have had several repair men, always changing the igniters. The part is $16.00 on Amazon by the way. I pay a lot more than that! Anyway it has never fixed the problem. It makes me think twice about using the oven as I have to listen to the noise of the vent for hours if I choose to bake or roast anything. I am truly disappointed with this range and after reading all of the other reviews realize that Im not alone. I would never recommend any Viking product. I wish I had never gotten with this stove. My first choice was Wolfe, and I was talked out of it and into Viking!

It is the finest cookware Ive ever had in my life. We ordered the stove in the middle of the pandemic and it came pretty quick. The stove has awesome quality. We love it. Its great. It gets to temperature pretty fast, and then it holds it really well. Weve always had a Viking, and when we built the house were in now, we bought a Viking and the stove lasted for 22 years. It was still working, but we thought we should replace it after 22 years.

Our refrigerator was leaking from the inside for quite a number of months. As we were going through various showrooms and appliance stores, we had seen the Viking Refrigerators and looked into them. We chose Viking because we found a refrigerator that was on clearance and it was something that would fit in our space at the time and fulfill our needs. Its working very well. I like the way the upper interior is organized. I also like the sturdiness of the back which is in the lower freezer compartment. Were very happy and satisfied with it. I like my Viking range very well. Its very sturdy and I like the way the range top works. The oven bakes and roasts very evenly, too. Viking is got a good name and I liked the size of the burners. The range is dual fuel, which is what I wanted. Right now, there’s a very narrow slot in the back of the range for the gas piping. If that slot could be made larger, it would make it easier to conceal the piping. Viking could also put in a smaller burner. Because right now, youve got four large burners, and sometimes you only got to cook with a small pan. But I like the ignition. It lights up really quick. Its a good stove.

But then this year I went to Best Buy and I saw the Viking range, and the customer service guy there, Cary, started telling me about it. I was looking at it and ended up buying it. And I was surprised because I never thought I was gonna have a Viking. But I love it and I’m happy with the customer service. Now the only thing is the cleaning portion of the ceramic part where I can’t get some tough stains out. And customer service doesnt have anybody that I can call and walk me through it or give me ideas. I have to look on the web, and that’s the only bad part. The baking feature of the range is great but it’s a little bit slow. If I have a cake that is a 30-minute cake, the baking time goes close to an hour. I love to bake and a pound cake is supposed to be 45 to an hour and 15 minute and Viking goes close to the two hour time. The oven turns off and it comes back on, so baking takes longer. I may be doing something wrong but I don’t press the button for a convection oven. So I’ll ask the technician when they come. I wanted all my products to match so I got a Viking fridge. However, I wish that it has an internal water source. It seems like a basic thing that all the other providers have that Viking does not. I saw that they have a unit that has that, but the one I bought didnt. There was a lot of back and forth with the dealer about it and there was a miscommunication. I was told that it had an interior water source and they may have said yes because they just misunderstood. So interacting with the dealer wasnt a really good experience. Also, I wish they would have contacted me to see how things were going during installation and after installation. I tried calling them but I wasnt getting through. I think that contributed to a lot of the miscommunication because they werent picking up the phone and contacting me directly. Furthermore, my freezers broken at the moment. They had to call a Viking service provider and they got out and the parts are on order now. If youre thinking of buying a refrigerator from Viking, look at a different company instead.

We bought the top-line Viking refrigerator as well as Viking oven and microwave through Best Buy, and Best Buy has been horrible. The communication around the third party that Best Buy uses for installation has all been really poor, and getting my appliances installed was the worst thing ever. First, the built-in $9,000-refrigerator was installed incorrectly. The installers failed to put a kickplate on the bottom of this refrigerator and they probably threw it away. So we had to have someone come out and that took a while. We’re easygoing people and we’re not that tough to deal with. However, I bought that refrigerator in early June and to this day, I dont have the kickplate yet, so that has been frustrating.Best Buy has a customer service troubleshooter that was assigned to us. That person was really nice but has been lousy on follow-up so we called and left messages. When I finally got a hold of Best Buy’s case manager, he said that Best Buy was told that the manufacturer did not have the kickplate in stock. So I told them that I was gonna call Viking, which I should have done early on. When I called, I spoke with their customer service person who was great and a really nice lady too. I asked her about the kickplate that is missing and she said they had them in stock, which was what I anticipated the whole time. We havent heard anything back yet, but a company is supposed to call us. Still, Viking is a premium brand and they have been responsive to us and the experience with them has been great.

I love the amount of space of my Viking refrigerator. It’s really good for an office. However, it wasn’t getting to the appropriate temperature. So, the serviceman came in and replaced the fan and something else. Those parts were not under warranty anymore, so we were looking at four years with the refrigerator. The freezer was working fine, but the two parts that he replaced didn’t do the trick. He had to come back, and then it was something that he needed to fix. He came out a couple of times before we finally got everything back up and running. So, we were without a refrigerator through most of the holidays, which was kind of a pain. And it made it hard to get him in. The serviceman was great. The only issue we had at one point was finding out when the parts were coming in. We waited and waited and finally, I called the serviceman and they said that they were having a hard time getting the parts. So, I ended up calling one of Vikings customer service numbers to find out what the issue was, and the part was in the following week. But there was this waiting time where we didn’t know anything, and it was because the part was taking forever to come in. Viking needs to set interaction between whoever provides the parts to the technician, and then the technician’s communication with who’s waiting on the part and the repair.

I like the qualities that the Viking Range has as well as the look. I chose it since I wanted more of an industrial look in my kitchen and a product that was mostly made in America. But I had a little disappointment. When the range was installed, it wasnt installed appropriately. I think it was set to propane when my home is on natural gas. Beyond that, I had to have four service calls because the oven was not working properly. It would come to temperature and then it would just shut off. I questioned my judgment in choosing to pay a premium for that appliance and then I have to do so many service calls to figure out whats wrong with it. The servicemen checked the stove then talked to Viking. They decided it required a specific solution and put that solution in place. They went away and then the next time I used the oven, it was clear that it hadnt been fixed. They went through a process of elimination to figure out what the problem was but it took some time. The good news is that the range works beautifully now and I am pleased with it.

In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.

When moved into a brand-new house, our Viking refrigerator came with it together with a stove and dishwasher. I like the refrigerators big drawer thats underneath the space for vegetables and fruits. So far, we already had some huge part replaced on it which cost about $2,000. We called Viking about it and they gave us the repairman that they recommended. The repairman came out and the refrigerator got fixed a month ago. But I can hear the sound starting to build up again so Im a little concerned about that. Other than that, Ive had an awful experience with the dishwasher. It broke and it took almost three months to be replaced because they couldn’t fix it. So I went all the way through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a dishwasher. They finally replaced it by the end of November because they could never get the part in. As for the oven, as expensive as it is, we already had to have a $3,000 replacement part for it. That was done about two weeks ago but when I turned it on yesterday to cook dinner, the part’s already broken. So, I need to have a repairman come again and replace it or fix it again because it will turn on to 350 but it won’t change temperature. When the appliances are working, it’s great but when it doesn’t work, it is horrible. Viking doesn’t come to replace things and the quality of their products doesn’t hold up to what the expense is going to cost.

Our kitchen looked beautiful. Viking appliances look great but dont last. Bought a wall oven in 2006 and had it fixed twice and then had to replace it with a Maytag in 2012 because the self-cleaning option burned up so much of the electronics that it was cheaper to buy a new oven. Our microwave, also bought in 2006, has been repaired twice and now we are going to replace it because it needs to be repaired again. Our beverage refrigerator either freezes anything close to the sides or can only keep things above 40 degrees, nothing in between. The thermostat was replaced but it made no difference. We are now using it as a cabinet for extra housewares. Our dishwasher works GREAT since we only use it about five times/year. The oven door on our large 6 burner stove has never been level but it works well enough for my use. My calls to Viking have produced nothing but oh sorry, you are just out of warranty but here is your closest authorized repair shop. I will NEVER buy another Viking product and will not recommend them to anyone.

I purchased Viking appliances in November 2009 - dishwasher, refrigerator, stove. My dishwasher has not been working since the beginning of July 2013 despite 4 visits by a tech and numerous phone calls to the extended warranty company and Viking. It was also repaired in 2010 and 2011. My refrigerator is also on its third repair and is failing to keep a consistent temperature... It is either freezing food or else keeping food in the 40-42 degree range. These are marketed as Professional appliances and certainly do not live up to this reputation. I discourage all consumers from purchasing Viking appliances... They come with a hefty price tag and leave the consumer frustrated, disillusioned and dissatisfied.

I got a whole kitchen package two years ago. Ive had some things break on them but every time Ive called, Ive had great customer service under the warranty in getting items replaced. So, its never been the issue. My husband and I put houses for a living and we decided to put Viking in one of our high end properties that we do. When we went to the International Builders Show, we stumbled upon the owner who was speaking at the first day to a group of people and were intrigued by his speech. So, we decided to solicit the package about trying to improve the quality of the product. Viking is comparable to Wolf but Wolf is still slightly ahead as far as quality. I have a 60-inch range, refrigerator, dishwasher and hood and theyre all Viking. I like the griddle in the range but I hate the indoor barbecue. I wish I had the double griddle. If I could switch it out, I would. So, that was my huge mistake but its fine. I just dont use it because its too much of a mess.

We were remodeling our kitchen and we wanted to upgrade all of our appliances so we did get Viking for everything. However, the refrigeration portion was faulty so we called our warranty and they did replace it. Its now working fine but thats not expected when you spend that much money on a refrigerator. It was a bit disappointing. For a week, we had to figure out how we were going to store food. We ended up having two technicians come out because they didnt communicate. It was a bit of a mess but its over and Im glad.

I like my Viking Range very much. I like the design and the ruggedness, and just the reputation they have. My favorite feature of my range is the six-burner top. I had one service call under warranty on it and it was a very simple and easy fix. If I ever move, Ill buy another one.

We have known for years that Viking a quality appliance, and we chose to go with them because of the name recognition. We also wanted a good quality product. However, there have been some hiccups. One of the refrigerator doors was damaged during the installation. It was installed a couple of weeks before we moved in, and that was when I notified them right away. They came to replace it in about three to four weeks after we moved in. And so, a new one was ordered, but the new one was worse than the one we had on, so we are still waiting on that. A couple of weeks back, I opened the refrigerator door and one of the parts, the locking mechanism to make sure that it does not open all the way broke off. I did not slam it open. It is like a cast metal part, so Im thinking that there had to be a crack or something in there. Fortunately, it is covered under warranty, but if it had not been, that would have been a very disappointing month and a half usage.I did my research, kind of on my own. We were to go through Builders Supply warehouse. Their prices were extremely marked up compared to what I could go get it from Pacific Sales. I had to show them documentation about the rebates and things that were going on, and I was willing to just buy the appliances myself and have them installed after the house was done. But the builder did not want that. So, basically, I was stuck at having to pay thousands more for the same product. That was frustrating. In the initial installation, they had one gentleman and his son installing it. I think that was very poor planning because that was a $10,000 refrigerator that was wobbling and coming off the trailer. He was also struggling to get it off the trailer, It was not enclosed, so it was open to the elements, and that was a little disheartening. I think that their installation should have shown a little more pride of ownership.

I love everything about my Viking range. This is probably my fourth Viking. The two homes I purchased had Viking Ranges in them previously. Then I have a home down in the Dominican Republic, and that range in there is around 30 years old. I just replaced the igniters on it, and it works like its brand new. Its amazing. I like the longevity. The price point is pretty high, but they last forever. Were still waiting on service for the range in my house. The far right bottom igniter has never worked. The service people are coming back out tomorrow, but this is their third visit. I’m a little apprehensive because they took the whole panel off on the front where there are 10 adjusting knobs. I told them, “Guys, its the igniter. I dont know if youre supposed to do that.” One tech said, “Well, I ordered this part, but my boss says its another part.” I told him, “But your boss wasnt here diagnosing it originally.” So thats kind of ass-backwards and the guy was here for about four hours. Also, Ive noticed that when I turn on the gas, sometimes the flame is higher on one side than the other. I had to keep turning on the pan when I was cooking.

Viking was high end, but cheaper than Wolf. Also, its relatively easier to clean than a Thermador. But Vikings quality is mediocre. If youre deciding between a Wolf and a Viking, you should spend the money and get a Wolf. But if youre deciding between if you want to go high end or low end, Id get the Viking because it is a nice brand. Everyone mentions it when they come in the house. The supplier that I bought the range from was amazing. They were so great in working with Viking to make sure I was under warranty.

We had a Sub-Zero and then we decided to try a Viking. We wanted a freezer on the bottom rather than the side to side, and it’s stainless steel. However, we’ve had some problems with the freezer as it stopped working. Somebody came in and defrosted the drain line or whatever that gets clogged up with a hair dryer. We had to spend about $400 to $500 to get that fixed as it was out of the warranty. Also, Im not all that impressed with the set up for the authorized repair. We called customer service, and the repair people are coming again tomorrow. But it’s like I’m talking to somebody where I got a phone bank somewhere, and it’s not a local business. For one thing, we can’t find the stupid model number or the serial number. They’re underneath somewhere strange in the back of the freezer, and one can’t get down there to see it. Also, the other day, one of those bookcases with the sliding shelves on the door broke apart for no reason. I had to order from Viking a new one for a couple hundred dollars for half of one of those bookcase sliding units. It’s so stupid that I’m trying to get that plastic. This unit just broke apart for no reason, and then I’m trying to go find the model number and the serial number so that I could talk intelligently with Viking support, and I can’t get it. The only way I found it was to go back to the original invoice from ABW who were the people who get all the appliance for us when we were renovating the kitchen. Other than having these incidents, Viking is a good refrigerator and we like it.

The Viking Range works. My wife and I think its design looks really cool and shes heard great stories about the way it works. I also heard that the quality lasts a long time. My wife wanted a Viking, nothing else. She was shopping left and right for it, including seeing if she can get a used one. She walked into the Viking dealer where we purchased the range from and they had a sale of this particular range along with a free dishwasher. Our experience at the dealer was nice and easy. We just signed the bottom line and the range got picked up when we needed it to. Im not a professional chef, but with the Viking Range, it looks like Im in a professional kitchen. The controls on the burners seem to work a lot better than any other range Ive had before, starting from the simmer up to the high temperature. Im happy that I bought it.

Purchased a complete kitchen full of Viking professional series products in 2008. In 2011 the microwave quit working. In 2011 the stove top igniters are always trying to light a lit stove. 2011, dishwasher spray arm fell off (plastic broke). Ongoing is my fridge freezer side by side. Too warm on top but frozen veggies in the crisper. The oven always seems to take a little longer to get to temp then in 2014 would never get to temp. Have called the Authorized Viking distributor and have always been transferred around. I have been pushed to an authorized repair company and been fleeced for labor and materials. Dealer came out for dishwasher and after talking on the phone for an hour told me it would be over $500 to fix. I paid him for the service call and found the part online, and put it in myself. Took the microwave out and just bought a GE. No one wanted to work on the micro. Pulled the oven out of the wall, called the technician and he came out to troubleshoot. Told me the lower element was out. He quoted me over $550 to fix when the part came in within the next few weeks. I paid him the 140 for the trip charge and service call and found the element online for 111. I put it in myself. An absolute hassle and this is unacceptable for appliances that are supposed to be top of the line. Never, I mean never... NEVER will I ever buy another Viking product. Pure 100% crap. I have a mother in law apartment that does not have a single Viking product. Never have issues. I have Kohler throughout the main house. Hardly ever an issue. If there is one, I talk to KOHLER and they send me what it takes to fix. I cannot wait to remodel my kitchen!!!

I like the reputation of Viking and I got my appliances from Best Buy. The interactions I had with the reps for the refrigerator was okay, but it was a terrible experience for the dishwasher. The quality of the refrigerator I’ve received from Viking is good. I like the size of it, the width, and the depth. I like the icemaker in it, too. It is good and it doesn’t glop the ice altogether. I like the lighting in it and the feel of the doors. However, the refrigerator was damaged during the delivery process, so I contacted Viking and it took multiple emails, and I threatened to return the product to get somebody from Viking to commit to getting it fixed. On the other hand, the experience of getting the dishwasher has been a really bad experience and would probably make me second-guess buying Viking in the future. I paid for it in July, but I just got it after meeting with the manager of Best Buy two weeks ago. It took eight to nine months to get a dishwasher after I had paid for it.

My wife liked Viking Ranges because of its quality. The last couple of ranges that we bought were not Viking and we didn’t like them. We bought our Viking Range through a retailer in Tupelo. We’re happy with it but we have an issue with condensation coming from underneath when we’re running the oven. We paid extra for this trim piece on the bottom that goes on the front so things wouldnt go up underneath the stove. Then the hot air coming from the oven is causing that water to condensate and drip out. Also, the fan is really loud for the convection oven.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator on a scratch and dent auction at a pretty good deal. They did not promise any warranty and I’m in Iowa so there are no resources for people to look at it. The refrigerator performs very well and it keeps everything cold. However, I dislike that it is very difficult to move around as it is 48-inch wide. We installed it ourselves and it was difficult to do it. It was a big process but we are happy now that it is in. Viking is still based in the United States so, there is very much of the hometown feel connection and I’m still working with someone local. Also, they have invested in hiring people and they are paying Americans to do a job. I appreciated that and it makes me feel like Im coming home when Im talking to them. When I called to follow up and ask questions about the cabinet being built, the technical support was very good. But the person at the parts department was not. Ive worked with him a few different times and he didn’t have technical knowledge of his job. He was very demeaning too. When we were talking about parts I needed to order, I got transferred back to technical then back. I got transferred back again when the numbers were not right. If they could combine their knowledge of the technical with the parts department, it would create a much better and efficient process.

I have been familiar with the Viking brand all my life. I bought a 30-inch dual fuel range from them two months ago. It is the very first Viking appliance I owned. However, we had to have a repair immediately because a fan was defective on it. They were prompt in getting the repairman out and getting it repaired under warranty work. I was pleased with that. But I still need to figure out how to monitor the temperature to make sure it’s calibrated right because my baking seemed to be different than in the past ovens. It doesnt seem to be baking as quick. So, I wonder if it might need to be calibrated that the temperature is running a little bit low. Other than that, the dealer and the technician were very good. The technicians showed up and replaced the ice maker five times on the first fridge, before they replaced the fridge. I havent had any issues in comparison to other issues Ive had or are having with Vikings other products such as the freestanding range. The performance has not been as expected. Ive been having some issues with the oven specifically and the griddle not working. Theyve sent some technicians multiple times who tried to fix it but its still not working. Viking is a well-known name in the industry and their range was the highest and top of the line range we can use without a direct overhead exhaust. However, we didnt have a good experience with it. Every time the exhaust fan came on, it vibrated and made a terrible noise. It was intolerable. Their service guy said it wasnt leveled but it was leveled fine when it was installed. Nobody could figure out why it was making the noise when the exhaust fan came on. I said, Obviously, somethings loose. Its vibrating. And it took them seven trips, two different service companies, to figure out what it was and it doesnt do it anymore. It was very frustrating on our behalf. Wed probably not buy their product again because of that. It was also delivered with a broken grate on top too. I had to go into the showroom and exchange it for the grate they had on the display. From day one, when it was delivered with a broken grate, right away I was upset. If I spent $500 or $1,200 for a range, Im okay. But it was $5,000 so Im expecting something to be worth $5,000, not a vibrating thing that was making noise. I have a service contract that I paid another $500 for so they have to come to me. It looks beautiful and it works great now, but the first year and a half was a disaster. And Im not quite sure how they fixed it and if its gonna hold up long enough. It was probably dropped or mishandled during its original shipment from its factory to its final destination that was why these problems came. Till today, its working fine, but Im not happy with the whole experience and would definitely not recommend it.

Within six months, the oven is not working properly and there is a problem with the cleaning. The large shaft doesnt come out. So you have to maintain the range. We have had our Viking stove for about 8-years (it was part of the home when we bought it) and if I couldve replaced it after the first year... I would have. Its an overpriced over-hyped piece of junk. In the first year, we had 4-service calls on it. The cooktop grates were unbalanced and wobble. When you turned on the gas to full high it smelled of gas. Two of the knobs cracked and broke within a few months. We ordered - more than once - new grates, some of which were fine... some of which still wobbled. In response to our complaint about the gas smell we were told just dont turn it on so high. I couldnt believe it! We had to BUY new knobs for a ridiculous price! We complained that the red light indicating the oven was always on. After trying to figure out what the problem was, we were told to just ignore it. AMAZING! We finally got an outside source to figure out what the problem was. He was not fond of Viking either! The configuration with the ovens so low, it is back-breaking trying to get anything out of there. The shelves dont glide smoothly in and out of the oven. And Customer Service is pretty terrible, as well. We get the impression that once weve purchased the thing they couldnt be bothered with us anymore. Overall, I really am quite disappointed that a company that sells such expensive tools for the home doesnt really stand behind their products. We had problems with another appliance - and were treated pretty terribly as well. After much wrangling, we returned the device - and got our money back - but I can tell you... it wasnt easy!
