I like the way the Viking ranges look and the salespeople were very nice. But the company that I bought my range from hired out delivery people. And they were a nightmare. Theyre not in-house so they had no clue and they didnt set up my range. But once I got my appliances, I was satisfied. All my kitchen is Viking and IIm really happy with my appliances. I bought an electric, five-burner convection since I live in a townhome and were not allowed to have gas. Ive had the range for about two months now and so far, everything has been excellent. My favorite feature of all time is the rack in the oven thats on hinges. You can pull it out completely without pulling it from the sides. You can extend the rack stand.

We went through Pacific Sales at Best Buy and they were able to work with us and help us out. We got the range, microwave and dishwasher. We had to wait for five weeks to get the stuff. And when they came to install it, there was a problem with the microwave. There was a broken screw inside the microwave itself so the installers could not put the screw through to mount it onto the cabinet. We called Vikings and they told us that we have to wait another three weeks. And that they couldn’t order one until this unit was turned back in. Finally they were able to get one in a couple of days and they came out to install it. And the second microwave had the exact same problem. I confirmed that it’s not the same microwave to make sure that they didn’t turn around and bring the same one back. It was a totally different serial number, so two microwaves had the exact same broken screw. The installer just happened to have another microwave on their truck that was supposed to be delivered to some other lady’s house and it was too big for her house so she had to cancel the order. There was some issues about whether or not he could install it because he had to turn that one in and then it had to be reassigned. But I was able to call Best Buy and they worked around it and they were able to give him the okay to install that other microwave. So we finally got it installed. It wasn’t the original one that we had ordered, but it did not have a problem. It all got worked out. But it was a headache for us trying to get everything installed correctly. Best Buy was kind enough to give us a $250 check towards the headache that we had. They were very friendly and helpful. And so, at the end of the day, we were happy.

I have a Viking side by side fridge, double oven unit and a range top - While the range top seems to work Ok The Fridge is the worst, between the ice maker not working properly, water evaporation unit does not work (a known problem) where you have to empty/wipe off the water from under the unit, and various shelf draw handles and side door, doors have broken off (replacements are expensive). The oven works ok but in the first year all the temperature and oven controls (bake, convection bake, broil etc) have worn off, and its not like I used steel wool to clean this, but really how is this even possible? My advice - stay away from Viking - there are plenty other vendors out there with better products.

My 3-yr-old Viking refrigerator RDDFF236SS stopped cooling on Oct. 20, 2015. We lost everything in the fridge and freezer. I have discovered online that countless people have had this same thing happen with this same model. Our local repair person told me its the compressor and other sealed parts, so I had to go directly to Viking. The Viking authorized repair shop cant come out until Oct. 28!Like others in reviews Ive read with the same problem, we are camping in our own home with camp coolers and daily runs for ice. If the repair person cant fix it on the visit tomorrow, Im contacting Viking again to request they buy back this lemon, which I had to do with our Viking stove a year ago, after the oven failed three times, two of those on successive Thanksgiving Eves -- not the holiday tradition I want. I finally insisted, on the third failure, that they buy the stove back at full price, which they grudgingly did after many, many phone calls. Now I have a Wolf range and couldnt be happier. I will never recommend Viking to anyone -- in fact, I actively tell people not to buy Viking. (I do want to say that the people at the authorized repair shop couldnt have been nicer about the Viking stove each time they had to come out.)

My Viking Refrigerator is nice cause it goes back in the cabinet. But my wife doesnt like it because they are not very built very well. The shelves got broken during shipping which costs $200 a piece. And for as much as we spent on it, it doesn’t have an ice maker or a water dispenser. So I bought a Viking ice maker. We also bought a 48-inch stove, a 36-inch stove that’s going on the basement and we have the Viking dishwasher for a house that we just started building.

When we went looking for a refrigeration system for Thanksgiving the salesperson showed us different brands and the Viking appealed to us. My wife liked the configuration of the shelves inside. She also likes the openness of this refrigerator. Its not cluttered and we could adjust the shelves. Diana, the person I dealt with at Viking, was super. The only thing is that they were so busy that they couldnt deliver the refrigerator so I went to pick it up.However, were having trouble with the icemaker. The refrigerator takes a couple of days for it to generate. It was making a little bit of ice and then all of a sudden it didn’t make ice. So we called the repair facility and that was not a happy thing for me because we had to find different dealers that would service Viking. We finally found one and they came out and worked on it. But after four days it had spit out about five ice cubes and that was it. We had the repair technician come out again and he said that theyll order a new one. I said okay and were waiting for the part to come in. Viking Refrigerators is one of the best ones a person could get. The biggest features would be its reliability and functionality.

Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

I liked the look of the stove and the reputation that Viking Ranges had. I didnt so much like the price but you get what you pay for nowadays. The range is great and heavy duty. Its worth every penny I paid for it. Its a quality appliance and Id buy it again in a heartbeat if I had a choice. And Im so far very happy with it. I hope that I dont run into any kind of issues. Ive had a Thermador before and had nothing but problems with it. Ive also had a Wolf which was a good range but Viking is just as good and a little less expensive.

Viking is a good brand. And we saw it at Best Buy, and we liked what we saw. The salespeople were very professional. The quality of our range is pretty good, but we’re a little upset with a couple of things. For the price of the range that we bought, it’s a pretty high-end range, and the burners are all stained up with the heat. It doesn’t very look appealing. As soon as we had it installed, we had trouble with one of the burners not lighting up, and we’re still having the same issue. Other than that, we like it. I like that it’s a six burner. And I like the BTU part of it the most.

We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

I like the reputation of Viking and I got my appliances from Best Buy. The interactions I had with the reps for the refrigerator was okay, but it was a terrible experience for the dishwasher. The quality of the refrigerator I’ve received from Viking is good. I like the size of it, the width, and the depth. I like the icemaker in it, too. It is good and it doesn’t glop the ice altogether. I like the lighting in it and the feel of the doors. However, the refrigerator was damaged during the delivery process, so I contacted Viking and it took multiple emails, and I threatened to return the product to get somebody from Viking to commit to getting it fixed. On the other hand, the experience of getting the dishwasher has been a really bad experience and would probably make me second-guess buying Viking in the future. I paid for it in July, but I just got it after meeting with the manager of Best Buy two weeks ago. It took eight to nine months to get a dishwasher after I had paid for it.

The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is not up to par. There are trim pieces that are exposed. You can see the white plastic trim pieces on the inside of the full-sized freezer and the full-size two refrigerators. One of the under-counter refrigerators in the master bedroom has been making a rattling noise ever since weve received it. I dont expect to deal with those issues when weve spent nearly $100,000 on appliances. We ordered our appliances through Winsupply and they sent out a license authorized service repair person. He relayed to us the message from Viking that the refrigerators and freezers we got were within their variants of production. Were used to using other appliance brands and they will never say that that is an acceptable variant. Our induction cooktop didnt work when we first got it and we had multiple trouble calls. They said they had to make a new part. Every month, they would call us and tell us that it was backlogged another month, and theyd push it out another month. It took them four months before the Viking representative finally called us and said that they would just replace it. They should have just replaced it brand new upfront when it wasnt working. We still dont have an industrial cooktop that works.

I had one gas stove and I wanted something that was a quality electric. Originally, I was gonna go with a Frigidaire and I knew they have ones that have a dual oven and maybe even a little pizza oven. But when I saw what Viking had to offer and the kind of deal I was getting, I went out of my original price range and got the quality product. I knew the quality and the reputation that they had. I also liked the features and the style. But when I looked at the unit, it didnt look like the door was squared up. So I called it in to have them come out and adjust the door. I almost hated to do that but Viking is the Mercedes of ovens. I spent that kind of money and I expected everything to fit right and be squared up. When the technician came out, he took pictures of it, documented it and figured out what the problem was. It wasnt the door. It was the bezel, which he ordered. But he had also tried to see if there were ways that he could fix it without having to do it, but he couldnt. Then he came back another time but they had sent the wrong bezel. It didn’t fit because it didn’t have the right number of holes for the knobs. So he’s gonna come back out again and it will eventually get fixed. Its taking a little while but thats okay. It took a little while to get the oven built in the first place too. I was on the waiting list with the manufacturer first and then with the company I bought it from. I also got free shipping, which meant that the range took weeks to get here but that was okay. Besides, the company is backing up their product and Ive got a lot of respect for the company so far. If they keep the guy coming out here until the unit gets fixed, there wont be any problems. So far, I am happy. The range is very impressive. The idea is that this is not gonna be a throwaway one. The other one that came with the house was 17 years old and it hit the trash can. But hopefully, this one will last for many years and it’s one that’s worth repairing if something goes wrong. I also got a backsplash and a Viking dishwasher, and a friend of mine took a picture of the setup. He got a bunch of likes on Facebook.

We noticed that on the refrigerator side, when we would open our Viking, the door wasnt closing on its own when we let go of the door handle. So, I called in the place where we purchased it and then they said we still had a warranty for the refrigerator itself for Viking. So then I called them and put in a claim. I turned out that the latch from underneath the door was broken. We waited two weeks for the parts to be delivered. It also seemed that the doors were not levelled. I have a Viking stove that Ive been pleased with it so I assumed their refrigerator would be of good quality. I got a brand new one and it was a store model because the other refrigerator was going to be a three-month wait, which I couldnt wait for. I received the refrigerator in June and I like the appearance of it. But I noticed one issue in mid-July where the door doesnt shut properly. The icemaker then broke in September. I noticed that it was freezing stuff in the back of the fridge. That was probably a few weeks afterward but I suspect it hadnt worked at all. I was told that there are three broken parts in my fridge and there is nothing that Viking can do until the supply chain works its way out. Im not pleased.

Had two issues with my range. First, the grate feet have come off my grills. After much back and forth (6-8 emails) a link was sent to me to order on my own. Unfortunately the feet and link were not available to be shipped to Canada. As well my range was still under warranty. I emailed back for another option for a Canadian supplier and my thoughts that this would be under warranty. I had no response (still have not). Secondly, the motherboard and fan stopped working, less than a year old. The process (online) was great to set up a call, however the process of having the claim put through to a technician and to have the product repaired took over a month. I love the product, but would still like an answer to the feet. Thanks.

This stove will outlast my house. Built like a tank, burners are amazing all the way from the slightest simmer flame to a multilevel scorcher. We have the grill and griddle. Grill makes some smoke but will dear steak just like your outdoor gas grill. Have enough power in a vented hood or you’ll need to remove batteries from smoke alarms. The griddle is thick steel and after one seasoning as recommended you’ll have a perfect nonstick surface smooth enough to cook eggs. Easy to clean with a paper towel. Only downside to this monster is its weight, which I guess only matters to the installers. You’ll never want it to leave and it’s the one thing a thief couldn’t carry out.

I had heard about the Viking range at the culinary school, and I got one because I really liked its performance. Ive had my Viking range since November and its really good. I like the open burner and that it has the two ovens, and I love to work with the griddle. But it was actually pretty rough with the team at the Viking dealer where I purchased it. I bought it from the website and they dropped it off, but they didnt install it, and it was here lying in my kitchen without the feet for a few weeks. I was going back and forth with them on the phone, asking them to come and install it because its a heavy range and I couldnt install it myself or with my husband. I remember that I was preparing this huge dinner for Thanksgiving with my family and we just ended up going to my in-laws house. Finally, they installed my range in the first week of December, almost four weeks after it was delivered. Despite that bad experience with the delivery, however, I will surely recommend Viking. The experience I had with my Viking range was amazing. Everybody said theyre very impressed with my range, and I love it. I love to cook and bake in it.

I had a Viking at my previous home. I just like their product and the commercial aspect of it. The first one I had was the open burner kind of thing and all steel. With the new range, I like the way it cooks and the little LED light thing thats underneath that you can actually see the knobs that illuminate it. Compared to the old range I had that had a softer side and could easily be scratched at the back, this new one has a softer cushion and it doesnt mark like the first. The only shortcoming was my experience with the Viking dealer. I like the range and if I had just gotten it from someone else, it would have been a whole lot better. Everything did not happen like it was supposed to. The salesperson neglected to schedule the installers so I had appliances sitting in my kitchen for three days uninstalled. I went to that store so many times prior to them doing the delivery because I had such a bad feeling it wasn’t going to go right and I was right. Ive known Viking for a long time. I had to make a decision on a new kitchen and so I chose them. With Wolfe, you have to have a subzero refrigerator and I wanted everything to be Viking. My experience with the dealership was awesome. I like the quality of the refrigerator but I’ve had quite a few calls to fix things. We had problems with the hinge on the bottom of that refrigerator. The door sunk down and so there was almost at one point, about three-quarters of an inch difference between the refrigerator and the freezer. They had to re-put in a binder and had to come out twice for that. And then on Thanksgiving, the top of my stove was horrible. Something went out and the oven shut down. They could not replace that and it was unbelievably awful. Also, with my Viking microwave, I had the whole motherboard replaced. And that was under warranty. Thank goodness my refrigerator and the range were under two years warranty. The products look beautiful when you walk into my kitchen. It looks really nice but it’s not worth it. My refrigerator was $8000 which is stupid and my range was $1000. I could probably get adjustments for the product with GE profile.

The only issue I have is with the Vent Hood. When its on high, it squeals and it sounds horrible. We’ve had people come out and work on it several times and they can’t get it right. It is unfortunate that I have to write this on a brand such as VIKING since I have had nothing but troubles on the 48 range and the big side by side refrigerator. Over the years we had several problems including the refrigerator door that fell off and almost hurt my wife had it not been for the kitchen island that stopped the fall on her. Thankfully Viking replaced the door but it shouldnt have happened. Now the range, right from the beginning we had issues with the right sided burners and grill not working, the oven that always made a hissing sound every so often when in use which we didnt know was a faulty burner and fire spreader plate. On 4 occasions we had the Fire department coming to our house because of Carbon-monoxide leak from the oven that triggered the alarm which, thankfully, is hooked to the Fire Dept. The latest being this Thanksgiving Day while the oven was in use. When discussing this with Viking customer service, the answer we got was that upper management couldnt help and suggested a repair service company. The service company stated that this is not an isolated issue but common with VIKING. The parts alone is quoted at over $1200.00 plus labor. If anyone is thinking of buying a VIKING product - think twice before you spend the tens of thousands for this poor quality brand like we did several years ago. Shame on you VIKING.

Viking Range was fined for ranges that turn on by themselves (article dated 4/17/17) for 15 models sold between 2007 & 2014. We have a Viking Range that was purchased in 2017 when our home was under construction. 11/9/19 the oven ignited by itself in the middle of the night; our fire alarm went off & woke us. The house was filled with smoke; we have to flip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off. It was super-heated & left marks on our brick backsplash. It also melted the igniter & safety features of the oven, as well as the mechanisms for the sliding racks. Clearly, Viking has not remedied the faulty part issues that caused this.I called them & their blanket answer is thats not one of the recall ranges, albeit the exact circumstances around the previous problem were evident. The specialist that serviced the oven said it looked exactly like the previous problems, although the part in the oven read as the updated version. The customer service rep stated to send her the service notes & shed forward to management, but didnt think repair would be covered (for new racks and the melted parts due to their faulty parts = $1,600) because the range was not under recall. For $14,000, youd expect better response, customer service, and quality out of a product.

20 years ago we went with a Vulcan, a true industrial appliance and after years with that, we decided that we wanted something more refined. Viking Ranges features and design fit what we wanted so we bought it. I wish it was more affordable but we love it. I have three favorite features of the range. One is the thermostatic griddle because that was one of the big things that the Vulcan did not have. We had the combination broiler griddle so we had to manually manage the temperature on the griddle, which was a ridiculous amount of effort. Thus we didnt use it much. Having the thermostatic griddle now makes it very usable because it makes it simple - turn it on, set the temperature, wait 10 minutes and cook. Another favorite feature is the convection. I use it almost all the time. The last one is actually an accessory but I do really like it and thats having the wok grate. There was one defect with the range and we worked through the dealer that we bought it from and it was good. They thought at first that it was a defective grease trap so they just sent out a replacement. When that didnt fit, they decided to look a little closer. In the end, it turned out that the griddle assembly was not welded together properly, thus the reason that the grease trap didnt fit. The problem was addressed and weve had no other issues.

I bought a Viking Induction Range and dishwasher in June 2010 and the left side burners do not work now, May 2012. On August 12, the new parts needed to be replaced again. This piece of junk is putting Viking products mildly. I threw out the $3,000.00 dishwasher after the fire (in the dishwasher) and bought Miele. I’m thinking of doing the same for this one.

We purchased a house with Viking appliances. All the items are still under the original manufacture warranty, so while we dont know when they were installed, they were purchased less than 5 years ago. When we moved in, the refrigerator was broken. It wouldnt cool down. It took 3 weeks for Viking to ship the required parts and now, exactly 1 month after being repaired, the unit is not cooling down again. The symptoms are exactly the same... Customer support is basically useless, we spent hours holding the line by now.

I was forced to buy a new refrigerator because my other one died, and it was a choice between Viking, Sub-Zero and KitchenAid. I bought the Viking because of the $1,000 rebate they were having and I also felt like it had more room. I pack my freezer and refrigerators, so it was the design that I was attracted to. So far, its been great and its been a very even temperature. The LED lights are awesome since I can see everything in there. The lady at Bill Smith was very helpful in helping me make the decision. I wanted to make sure the refrigerator was installed right by their installer, so I called them and had them check on things. They were very good. I also got my rebate check finally. The only thing I wish my Viking has was another vegetable drawer because I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, but it only has one vegetable drawer. It has two drawers for cold cuts and cheeses but it only has one crisper and I miss that. Also, after I had this installed, Ive asked several repair people about what they think of Viking. Viking needs to do a better job with them because theyve all said that Sub-Zero is so much better and I shouldve bought the Sub-Z as far as from their point of view.

Insulation is saturated and has been dripping for at least a couple of years in what is now a 6-year-old refrigerator. Viking said it couldnt be repaired and that the problem was caused by South Floridas humidity. Come on. Viking is manufactured in humid Mississippi! Viking offered a special replacement discount of 20% for a limited time. We are talking about several thousand dollars here. Still living with this miserable and annoying problem. Time to vent our displeasure. Model VIRB364RSS - Cost of this 36 all refrigerator unit was $4,122.00 in 2013. P.s. We also own a Viking all-freezer, induction cooktop, thermal convection wall oven, microwave and warming drawer. Vikings response to what was obviously a defective product---disheartening and weak.

The coils freeze, the floor of the freezer has a 1/2 inch frozen solid water and water leaks out onto my hardwood floors. If this is obviously a problem why are they not fixing them??????? I had a Subzero in my other home for 20 years and this never happened!!! So during this beautiful Sunday Im inside scraping ice and cleaning up water. Someone has to be accountable.

Most recently, the burner bases have been misfiring and was told by an authorized Viking repairman that about 3 years ago Viking updated the burner bases due to a design flaw! When I called Bonnie at Viking customer service to question why had Viking owners not been informed of this design flaw, she said it was just an updated equipment and they could not contact all their customers. Funny how automotive companies can contact all their customers. Viking should had issued a recall!

Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range
Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range that I bought specifically so that I could have gas plus electric self cleaning. The range is 11 years old and Ive infrequently used the self cleaning, perhaps 7 times at the most. First repair in 2009 cost $700 and now it is broken again. At this rate, self cleaning is costing $100+ per use. When I complained the first time about the outrageous repair cost to Viking, they figuratively shrugged their shoulders. I have another complaint in again. I would not recommend this range in particular and I would be hesitant to buy any Viking appliance without careful review.

Viking Refrigerators have a tough look. They dont have the look of a local GE but rather the look of a Sub-Zero Wolf, and I like it. Also, its quality is decent. The refrigerator that I purchased was only available in a French-door, which is a counter depth. I wish that option was available in a one-door as well. The shelves are movable. Its a tough refrigerator on the inside and its not clumsy. The freshness stays in there longer and things don’t spoil as quickly. But it is extremely overpriced and its so heavy compared to the others. The size could also have been a little wider.

Let me start off with how terrible this company is with everything they do. They claim that they strive to be the best with customer service and this and that but its all false lies that any customer shouldnt believe. I will NEVER, EVER recommend this company to anyone or recommend anyone to buy any of their products as they are crap and parts need to be replaced numerous times throughout the year. A couple of years back we purchased a 7 thousand dollar Viking range and if I went on to explain the problems this oven has caused us it would go on and on forever. 500 dollar burners had to be replaced numerous times throughout the years as well as numerous other parts which werent working, leaving us with repairs worth more or equal to the price of the oven from day one. We decided to contact the company and put in a claim because we saw that they rebranded the company and a lot of complaints were filed with them in the earlier years about the same exact oven we had. They requested all repair documents even stating that they saw we had to get it repaired by them within the first few months. We spoke to a customer service representative named Lashelle ** and she was the most terrible one of them, all rude and didnt help with anything, barely got responses to emails and had to go out of our way to get a response back from her. She finished the review and said theres nothing they can do about the oven. Screw your company and crappy pieces of ** ovens which you do nothing for the customer who has problems with them. DO NOT BUY AS YOU WILL REGRET THIS PURCHASE SEVERELY.

Viking Refrigeration is supposedly one of the best brands in the market and my wife likes them better than the others. I’m a hundred percent satisfied with the quality. We had issues that I didn’t expect because of the price of my refrigerator but I’m not gonna say it’s a bad or terrible refrigerator and they replaced it so I cannot complain at this point, although this is mostly what I feel should not happen. Our Viking refrigerator is huge and the freezer is on the left side while the refrigerator is on the right. My wife, three adult daughters, and I are very careful at home and don’t beat up our kitchen appliances. But the drawers are breaking apart and the shelves and door shelves were disintegrating which is really weird and that I would not expect from a refrigerator with a price tag that Viking has. I assume they crack with the cold. I was very surprised and I really expected a little bit more. So I called the warranty and they sent me new ones.I had an issue with a microwave that Viking ended up fixing, though I wasn’t happy at all with the first company that came. Then I had another issue with a cooktop and the company that came to do the repair was very good. When I buy appliances with a price tag of Viking, I expect their life to be longer. The problems we had are not terrible and would not keep me from buying Viking again in the future, but I was disappointed that I had much more issues with the microwave and cooktop, that I did not expect with luxurious appliances such as Viking.

I bought a fridge and dishwasher back in 2011. The fridge was fine, however, the dishwasher was just dreadful. After going through several channels, a Viking rep told me to pull it out and sell it. Eventually, the store where I bought it ended up replacing it. I then opted for a Miele dishwasher. In June 2013, I decided to try again with Viking. I ordered a range top, range hood with fan, and warming drawer. The range top had to be replaced as it arrived very badly scratched and dented. It was yet another ordeal to get it replaced. The warming drawer is sitting all apart on my living room floor. Ive never had the chance to use it because the cabinet rubs against the drawer and screeches metal to metal when trying to use it.The Viking rep sent out a panel to be screwed into the base of the drawer to keep it flat but that did not work. Now we have another part ordered but Viking has the flippant attitude of telling us they have no idea when the part will arrive. In order to complete the remodel of my kitchen I needed double ovens and a microwave. I chose Jenn Air, and could not be happier with their products. Also, their customer service is outstanding. Viking is definitely the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is just horrendous.

I love Viking but the range that I got have been serviced already because of the ovens. The sensors on the temperature controls were popping off and now, it doesn’t hold a constant temperature. It constantly clicks all the time and re-lights. Id have to call back in on it again and get it fixed. But for the most of it, its been okay. But I wasnt too happy with the salesperson from the Viking dealer. When you spend $20,000 with somebody for your appliances in your kitchen, you would think youd get a little faster response out of people. Ive left messages with him for over a week and never been contacted back. Also, the appliances at the house weren’t installed properly. I had to call back on that. Also, I went by the details that Viking put out for the measurements on building cabinets and your measurement. If I built one to those measurements, wherein on the top side, behind the LED instrument panel was a little bracket that was screwed in to protect the controls and that little notch out was an inch high by 10-inches across, and there was no way I could put the microwave in that opening. It still got to be notched out that inch by 12-inches to get it in there. Its a mis-drawing on the diagram. Viking needs to look at those details and make sure everythings correct cause the installers wanted to knock out my stalls on the cabinet. But my cabinets werent screwed and nailed. Mine were dowels and biscuits cut together and glued. If he had knocked that stall out of that cabinet, he would have ruined that cabinet.

I had a Viking range when I lived in Southern California for 20 years and couldnt kill the thing. Initially, I purchased it for status. It looked so great in my house. With a culinary background, I quickly found out that this range was amazing. It performed. I moved and could not take it with me. We finally built our forever home and one of the requirements was that I bring that Viking back. I have a whole Viking kitchen. The window in the range in the oven part of it is not the same as it used to be. This seems like it needs some kind of gasket around it. I sometimes see steam between the glass. I was told thats normal but it wasnt like that on my other range. But all in all, it works really well. I love it. I had a GE in another home and it was like junk. You couldnt clean it. It’d scratch. I took the air filters out and washed them. They fell apart the first time. You dont get that with Viking. It is a lot more money but you get what you pay for. I tell people if youre going to invest in appliances for your house, this is the way to go. Its everything you need and Viking stands behind their product.

Im not very satisfied for the price I paid. The refrigerator has some issues. I have spoken to customer service and the year was going by and I thought I need to call them again. The maintenance people are not very familiarized because the rep told me that down where Im from, there are not many people that own Viking. But the lady that does also had the same issues of food freezing. The handles are very wobbly. I constantly have to tighten them up. It doesnt have a feature in the ice machine where it stops after it feels that it has made enough ice. For such an expensive and quality brand, those features would have been looked into. They had to also repair, just within purchase, the deli meat door because it was off. It was crooked. Right away, they sent the deli door. But the guy hasnt even called me. I’ve had just about every brand of refrigerator imaginable and I have never ever had to call and use the warranty and try to get things fixed, except for now with Viking. We were willing to pay the price thinking we were getting quality, but it was very poor. The refrigerator came defective. The doors were uneven and it wasn’t fully balanced so it wobbled on the floor. I had all those little quirky things, but the main problem was when the ice maker would not work, it flooded.I had a free-standing refrigerator and it flooded and it froze, and then it completely stopped working. So we called Viking and they kept trying to fix it but it wouldn’t work. Finally, the technician replaced the refrigerator but we hadn’t had it for two weeks when the freezer flooded, froze and stopped working as well. Plus, the refrigerator always came with cracked little door cabinets, the ones where you put your milk. It is terrible. The doors were also still uneven and the little bend was cracked. They took care of that, but it came directly from Viking and that took a long time to receive. Clearly, there is an issue with the manufacturer.I had also missed an appointment because I couldn’t do the window that was given. I called a day or two before they gave the notice but they never called me back. The next thing I knew the tech was at my house and it was like he didn’t get the message. I was so sorry and I wanted to reschedule. I asked if they could come quickly and he said he could come that week. But I followed up and they never called me back. I finally called them the other day and the rep booked me three weeks out, on March 19th, which was absurd. I had waited a month and now I’m waiting another month. When the technician comes and diagnoses it, I know it’s going to be another month to get the part. It’s an absolute nightmare. We made the purchase through the Best Buy store because it was easy and convenient, and I knew that it was backed by Viking. Best Buy was hard to deal with but it was easier than dealing with Viking directly. I’m in that huge several months process of trying to get my ice maker to work. If this problem continues, I’m going to go to the news. The process is bad and outright wrong. I was being pretty cool about it, but Viking gives me crap.Viking doesn’t hustle out and try to own up to it or make it right. They make you wait and the people that they have that work the warranty don’t care. But they really need to care because they may be making a lot of money installing a lot, but it’s not going to continue. I read the reviews and I know there are a lot of angry people. Reviews are out there with this exact freezer problem and it has happened to me twice. What were the chances of that? If they really paid attention, I wouldn’t have had another problem.

Viking was having a deal where if you buy three of the main appliances, there would be a discount so I bought their refrigerator. It has a little space on the bottom that can fit a whole pizza box and I like that. It also has a wide freezer that has a lot of storage space in the separate freezer. But the unit has been with me for less than two years and it already needed repair. There was an electronic component on the defroster that went out. It was still under warranty, so I went back to the appliance store and got the name of the person that they recommended. I had to go online and make sure they had the warranty information and had to schedule a repair. Then they had to order the parts and the repairman had to come back a second time to install them. Aside from that, every one of the plastic drawers that pull out has hairline cracks. I talked to them about getting those replaced and Viking told me that since its a cosmetic issue, its not covered by the warranty. Also, when we were doing the repair and were taking out the glass shelving, the glue on the bracket that attached it to the glass came off. Its not a big deal because it sits on the glass, but it’s another example of why I dont see the unit as high-quality, like how the repair and appliance people described it. I also bought a Viking range and it works well but the preheat cycle takes a long time. I wish that there was more versatility and I would do away with the grill and just have a griddle that was two chambers wide. I was also disappointed that it doesn’t have a clock or automatic cut. So I feel that for what I paid for, I got a very low-tech item.

Our refrigerator is very convenient, large, and has good quality. The only thing I dont like about it is that adjusting the temperature, which is two little controls up on the top, is not very clear and it doesnt read out the exact temperature, just has these little bars. So, it takes a lot of time to figure out how to use it, how to set it, and get it to the right temperatures. At the very bottom, it freezes up and the water gets into the drain in the back on the bottom and we once had to thaw it out ourselves. Another time, we had to call a repair person cause there was no way for us to do it. If only they have as many other refrigerators have where you set the temperature and it shows you what its set for and what its actually reading, and I would make sure that they have improved the heating unit that would prevent the drain in the freezer from freezing.

I like the ease of cleaning it. When something bubbles or spills over the cooktop, its easy to clean it. There arent a lot of grooves where food can get stuck in. Also many problems with my Viking dishwasher that have needed many repairs and is now leaking water from below the door due to a design problem which No Customer Service refuses to acknowledge. The Microwave light panel is now so dim it is almost unreadable. DO NOT BUY VIKING!!

When we went to the store here, we were going to try and get a Viking stove. We had to get a Wolf. We were looking at a refrigerator, too, and when we saw the Viking refrigerator, we thought it looked cool, so we got it as well. It’s expensive and costs more than a regular refrigerator, but its nice. We like the look and the layout - the top and bottom with two doors on the top. It feels kind of solid, plus, we like the way it lights up on the inside when we open the door. We also like the dashboard in the inside of the door where we could look at all the different stuff we could do. Weve only had it a short time and so far, so good. We got a Sub-Zero in our other house and it’s comparable to that.

Updated on 02/11/2020: I have had Viking appliances for less than five years and have had nothing but problems with every one of them. The refrigerator was so bad that they gave me a new one that was suppose to be redesigned. Well after just a few months I have had nothing but problems with it. I have to make ice cubes in trays!!! The springs break on the doors, top shelf on the right side freezes anything you put on it. Viking should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off like this. Now my range will only work at 350f and the control that I need is $1,400.00 for just the part and viking has done away with their service company, now they sub it out to a local repair shop that knows nothing about this line. I am going to buy a new Refrigerator and I will be posting the old one on Youtube when I destroy it with my excavator just to get some satisfaction.Original Review: I guess I am another dope that bought these appliances without reading the reviews! I thought you get what you paid for but not with Viking appliances. I have the 42 fridge and the 48 range with the griddle option that has not heated up and worked right since day one. The fridge is a complete piece of you know what!!! The ice maker which freezes the water every three months and stops the ice maker from working and has to be thawed is a joke which the repair guy told me it is a known problem but still will not do anything about it.My floors were also ruined from that problem. The ice will not come out right and gets clogged or you get one cube or 100, no in between but then the rest will come out 10 minutes later on the floor. Spring on door has broke. Now the latest is no water on the door and the high temp alarm keeps going off. We all need to get together and file a lawsuit against Viking because this is just not the way to do things. How do they get away with this? DO NOT BUY ANY VIKING APPLIANCES no matter how nice you think they are!!! You will regret it!!!

Ive known about Viking for years. Ive had Sub-Zero for years, but we just replaced it with the Viking. I liked the quality of the Viking refrigerator I received. It’s a side-by-side refrigerator. However, there’s one thing I don’t like and that is there are no shelves on the freezer side of the door. There are shelves on the door on the top, but just not on the bottom. I’m used to the Sub-Zero having the shelving all the way down on the door.

Me and my wife decided to get a Viking Range because of the build quality and simplicity. We like it better based on appearance and what our relatives told us of their experiences. However I had a bad experience with the dealer. They told me at that time I purchased that if Im not ready to put a delivery, I can have this range later. Several months later when I was ready, my dealer all of a sudden told me that they cannot deliver Viking anymore. There was some sort of disagreement and they couldnt sell Viking anymore because Viking specifically prohibited this dealer from selling their brand. I actually lost money because Viking raised the price by that time and the dealer referred me to a different dealer and promised that they will give the same price. But the new dealer couldnt provide the same price. The second dealer sold me a Viking and gave me a free warranty. Im not sure if I needed it but at least something as a compensation for a little loss. They delivered a new range. A few days after the delivery when I installed the range, I noticed when turning the handles it caused some sort of noise or feeling that something fishy is going on. So I called and they sent a repairman. The repairman took the handle off, adjusted something around it and after that it became better. The repairman also noticed that one of the screws was not original and it was quite surprising. Either Viking quality control is not correct or someone else changed the screw. I dont know how it would happen. But I rate it as minor inconveniences.

I used Viking previously since they had a good name before and I went with them again. But the quality of the fridge that I purchased from them this time is very bad. It breaks down a lot and the temperature doesn’t work properly in any manner. Also, the space is not very friendly and its so small inside, even though its a big fridge. I called Viking and the reps asked me to register my model, and if I had an issue theyd send a service company to fix the fridge. But my refrigerator only has one-year warranty, so that’s really bad because it breaks down so much.

I recently purchased a Viking dishwasher. Was in the in the middle of remodeling my kitchen. When I came to take the dishwasher out of the box it had a dent on the front door and the top right-hand side of the unit I called customer, and the lady told me they do not cover Freight damage. They will replace the door but not the unit. I go to install the unit and there is water coming out of the hose. I called customer service again and they told me they do not cover that and they can only replace the door. Thank you Viking.

My Viking range is a well-made product and it looks great. And while its kind of shocking how heavy it is, everything is working great on it. I really like the induction in terms of speeding and also, it is fairly quick at heating things up and turning things fast. So, its nice and seems to be a little bit cleaner in terms of the heating element and keeping the top clean. The only thing is I cant see where theres a built-in timer in there. Luckily, I have the microwave over the oven, so Im able to use a timer on top of the range. But if I didnt have the microwave, itd be more of an issue.

We had run our course with other good, run-of-the-mill brands. One was a side-by-side and my wife liked it because it was a counter-depth but it didn’t have enough fridge space and had too much freezer space. It was a Samsung that had four doors and a three-zone in it. They were good on their warranty but we had nothing but problems with it. Then I had to wait six weeks to get a check from them. So I said, Nevermore. I’ve seen Viking Refrigerators in homes. They had built-in units in nice, fancy custom kitchens and I knew of their reputation like a Sub-Zero. Plus, I liked the simplicity, the build and the feel of the Viking refrigerator. That was what I set out to buy in the first place. We had a very good experience with the Viking dealer and we were well-served by the individual who sold the appliance to us. The one we got has a French door and the bottom drawer. It was the only model that was standalone and the rest of them were for custom kitchens. Its top-shelf and I’m very pleased with its quality. I like the feeling I get when I open up the door then the LED lights illuminate the inside and just slowly fade. It’s very pleasant to operate and it has lived up to all the expectations I’ve had of it.

I started my degree in design and have always been very into design, form, function and how things look. I go through all the magazines and when I saw Viking the first time, I thought I wanted those in my home. One of the main reasons I loved the Viking is because it’s very simple, the lines are very sleek, and elegant. I went to an appliance dealer in Spokane, Washington and the salesman showed me all of the appliances. Wolf is a little intense for me. Six months later, we had to hone in on what we were gonna put in the house and so we went to that dealership in Bend, Oregon. I kept bringing Viking up and the rep kept taking me away from it. He said the brand doesnt update and doesnt have anything new and fancy with their machine. But thats why I want it. I don’t want anything fancy. There’s not even a clock on my stove. First I was kind of taken aback and I thought, “Oh, I have to use my own timer.” Now that I’ve used it, it’s what I love about it. There’s none of those pieces that often have problems down the road. The temperature is very true to the dial. I have a thermostat in there and when I put it on 350 and I wait 30 minutes, it’s at 350. The refrigerator doesn’t have the water feature that a lot of refrigerators have. When I open it up, it’s incredibly bright and it’s like the heavens open up. You just see everything. I’ve noticed that I can also keep vegetables or fruits in the compartment for a longer period of time than I’ve been able to in the past. It’s interesting how many people have come in to look at the house and they’ve all made comments on Viking. It just works so well and accentuates everything else that is in this kitchen.

We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest.
We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest. We liked Vikings reputation and some of our friends have Viking appliances as well. My whole experience started off with one dealer. When I went in there, I gave them a deposit but I ended up canceling that because the woman that I was dealing with didn’t know the product line at all. So, I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So, knowing what I wanted, I then reached out to a dealer on Long Island and everything at that point was done across the phone. And the girl that I dealt with did an excellent job for us. So we purchased the 48-in range, the dishwasher and below the counter microwave. And I was really happy with that as far as the coordination and delivery of the equipment. I’ve also spoken to Viking directly done in Mississippi a couple of times and they were helpful. I had a couple of questions and in the middle of everything, there was a model change going on. called them and said all right, tell me the differences between what I had ordered and what I’m going to receive and they did a good job of explaining the difference there. When I had the issue with the dented panel on the dishwasher, they turned it over to a third-party and I was hoping that they could address the issue sooner than later, but it was a smaller organization. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get them out to the house but when they came, they were spot on and did an excellent job. So, while I had to wait longer than I would have liked, I was happy with what they did.It was interesting because one of my friends has not had a good experience with Viking around the range and parts. But I didn’t allow that to bother me because I don’t know how much of it was them or how much of it was Viking. There are always two sides to every story. So, even hearing the horror stories that they had to tell, I am pleased with what we did and I’d be happy to recommend Viking to anyone so far.

Just before Christmas, the icemaker went out on this model. The tech called three different techs including Viking because he cant get the icemaker out of the fridge. The line frozen, too. Ive had Viking before so I got them again when I moved into a new home and I went to replace the appliances. The quality has been good. But I moved into a condo in Florida and they don’t allow gas so I got the induction. It’s different for me because it’s an induction and before I’ve always had gas. The rep was helpful the first time I went in and helped me select the product. But when I had some questions and went back, it was like they didn’t have time for us. They did it twice. She was doing something else and she was dealing with some other customers. I got the Viking professional range and I thought I was getting the Viking professional microwave. I didn’t realize until after they had installed it in that it was Viking and not the Viking professional. We have known for years that Viking a quality appliance, and we chose to go with them because of the name recognition. We also wanted a good quality product. However, there have been some hiccups. One of the refrigerator doors was damaged during the installation. It was installed a couple of weeks before we moved in, and that was when I notified them right away. They came to replace it in about three to four weeks after we moved in. And so, a new one was ordered, but the new one was worse than the one we had on, so we are still waiting on that. A couple of weeks back, I opened the refrigerator door and one of the parts, the locking mechanism to make sure that it does not open all the way broke off. I did not slam it open. It is like a cast metal part, so Im thinking that there had to be a crack or something in there. Fortunately, it is covered under warranty, but if it had not been, that would have been a very disappointing month and a half usage.I did my research, kind of on my own. We were to go through Builders Supply warehouse. Their prices were extremely marked up compared to what I could go get it from Pacific Sales. I had to show them documentation about the rebates and things that were going on, and I was willing to just buy the appliances myself and have them installed after the house was done. But the builder did not want that. So, basically, I was stuck at having to pay thousands more for the same product. That was frustrating. In the initial installation, they had one gentleman and his son installing it. I think that was very poor planning because that was a $10,000 refrigerator that was wobbling and coming off the trailer. He was also struggling to get it off the trailer, It was not enclosed, so it was open to the elements, and that was a little disheartening. I think that their installation should have shown a little more pride of ownership.

It definitely compares with Maytag and KitchenAid and in that range, I think Vikings one of the ones that I would definitely go for. But price-wise, it is slightly expensive. They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. Although, its doing what a fridge is supposed to do and I think thats the minimum we expect to see. We have a full suite of Viking appliances. Its pricey but we chose them for their reputation and style. My wife likes the refrigerator more but I find it a little too shallow. Everythings up front. But aesthetically, its very pleasing and it goes with the other appliances as well as the rest of the redone kitchen, and it’s so far, so good. Initially, we had a problem with the refrigerator. It was probably within the first month. Id found a puddle of water below the freezer on the floor. I did not appreciate that at all. It had gone into a defrost mode unexpectedly, and we had to throw everything in the freezer away. The icemaker has that bar that will cut it off as it slows up. That doesnt work. The ice overflows and ends up on the bottom of the freezer. It’s never turned itself off, so you have to turn it off manually to stop the ice being generated. Otherwise, if you pull out the top shelf of the freezer, its higher than the rod because it pushes it out of it, pushes it to the back and out the back, off the end. Were not the only ones. We speak to other people who have it, and they say they have the same issue. From what I understand, there is no fix. It just doesnt do what you thought it would do. Thats something that from a design perspective should be looked at.

For my kitchen renovation, my design company that they use, Fergusons and the chain of them here in the southeast, the only ones they had everything in stock was Viking. And when I purchased the stove, I got a free dishwasher. Headquarters had to call a lot and I had to have people here all the time. They were really concerned. When you open the fridge, the drawer to pull out, which is cold and you can keep cheese and meats in it, I cut my fingers and they were concerned and had headquarters call. And then, the repair people -- everything was free -- coming out all the time from Fort Myers. The guy called it metal burrs that havent been sanded down. That was quite a worry. They called me from Mississippi. Its very rare and it just wasnt finished. And depending where you place your fingers, you could cut them on metal to open that inside drawer. So, that was a bad experience. Also, the freezer didnt shut properly and the tech had come out several times. It was the most finite adjustment on something. But I could have lost a couple of hundred bucks worth of food because the alarm kept going off. And he came and fixed it, and an hour and a half later, the alarm went off again. He thought he fixed it. So, it was really challenging for the Morale in Fort Myers to contract repair people with Viking here in this area. That was maddening. And then, the dishwasher, an extra button for quietness fell right off on the floor, and it was a glue problem. The Morale had to come again. Its free for me under warranty. It just was disconcerting and all the appliances were brand-new. I heard him talk to headquarters and he said, Yes its a glue issue. And he said, No, I cant reuse it. Its covered in labrador fur and cat hair, which as soon as it started to hang out and the labrador would walk against it and it hung down from the bottom. It didnt seem to make much difference in the quietness. Its an incredibly quiet dishwasher anyway. But they had to order a new one, so that took a while, and they had to come back and put that in. That was a surprise, all that happened right away. But everything got fixed and Ive been very pleased since. Its a super quiet dishwasher and I like the red light that shines on the floor that shows when its on.And then, all the new fridges, all brands, the alarm for the freezer and different ways to adjust the temperature of that meat drawer and the freezer. And then, I like the microwave. Its so nice and simple. There were higher-end ones with the convection fan in the microwave, and I got simplest because I picked over the stove with the vent pan under the microwave. The way my kitchen was designed, it seemed the best route rather than a hood. The stove is unbelievable. This induction stove is the best thing in the planet. I heard good things about them and everybody I know whos renovating was getting new appliances, and new stoves are getting induction, and were just in shock about it was the fastest weve ever seen to boil water or cook. So safe, the way the magnetic field isnt hot. The oven is incredibly fast too. Its interesting. You dont have to preheat at all. The fix-it guy is a surprise too. He was fabulous, a longtime veteran and knows all his Vikings, and he was stunned. He was so puzzled about the freezer not closing. He thought of it truly as a challenge, a puzzle he had to solve. Because when he thought he fixed it, just 90 minutes later, it broke again. So truly, puzzled, and worked on the phone a long time with Viking in Mississippi and tried to solve it. It was the most infinitesimal thing, some tiny adjustment of a gear in the bottom drawer of the freeze. One tiny little gear off compared to the other side and it meant it couldnt close completely, and then it couldnt stay cold. That was his first time ever had to have that. Also, the button that fell off, he was also puzzled. We couldnt figure out where it fell off from. Just one day, I was just looking, and Id hardly had the dishwasher, and there it was hanging down the bottom, then it came completely off, and I called him up. When he came, You sure that came from this? He figured out where it was, couldnt save the old one or the new one, and it took a while to come. But ever since, things have been okay.

I purchased all Viking appliances thinking they were high quality. Unfortunately, I had problems from the start...especially with the dishwasher. Like many other customers, the silverware basket began falling apart within the first year. I complained to Viking and left with the impression they just dont care if you are satisfied or not. I cant stand the thought of paying up to $80 for a new Viking basket- after paying so much $$$ for the dishwasher in the first place- so I am still using the broken one currently held together with zip ties. If that wasnt enough, the start button on the top edge that turns the machine ON failed. That cost me close to $200 to replace one tiny electronic part. I have a small apartment size dishwasher in one of my rental units I paid only 1/4 of what I did for my Viking and it cleans dishes so much BETTER than my expensive Viking. Weve invested on a full line of Viking appliances in our renovated kitchen a few years ago: refrigerator, stove, oven and microwave. We had to replace the microwave because it was not heating food. Now, the refrigerator is not cooling enough. We called Pacific Sales. We called Viking. They both referred to Appliance Masters, technicians authorized and specialized Viking appliances.
