We had a new $8000 refrigerator from Viking. Over 5 years we had it repaired 18 times. The refrigerator was recalled so Viking charged us half price for a new one about 8 months ago. This evening - all of the food in the freezer is now thawed out. The refrigerator is not getting cold. Youve got to be kidding. Even the replacement of the recalled refrigerator isnt working now after 8 months. We have an old GE refrigerator out in the garage that weve had for 16 years and it still works perfectly with no repairs in 16 years. So tell me, what is better, the EXPENSIVE OVERPRICED 8-MONTH-OLD VIKING - OR 16-YEAR-OLD G.E. that has never needed repair?

I knew about Viking Ranges long ago from listening to my clients. After pricing the products towards the end of the year, Viking had a better promotion. I picked the range that I wanted online, went in, and paid for it. My favorite about it is its easiness of use, though I had expected more with the range’s quality for the price that I spent on it. But everything was perfect with Viking. They were also very good about sending someone to fix the range when one of the burners wasn’t working. It took them a couple of weeks to send somebody out.

I like that the burner of the Viking range is bigger than the other ones so I bought it. But I dont like the range. There is too much problem with the oven. Within six months, the oven is not working properly and there is a problem with the cleaning. The large shaft doesnt come out. So you have to maintain the range. When I turn on the burner, it goes right away sometimes but sometimes it takes four attempts to put on. Viking sent me some specialist and they told me there is a problem with the part. But the range is just one year old and its expensive too. I never recommend this product anymore.

We had Viking Refrigerators in our last house. So when we renovated, we wanted to have it again. The quality of the Viking refrigerator has been my favorite and it has been good. I got a French door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. We worked with the appliance place and I thought the interactions I had with the Viking team were great. Id recommend Viking.

In the past month and a half that Ive had the Viking range, the quality has been nice. It came with our brand-new house so the builders were the ones that put it in and I love the stove. I had a little bit of trouble registering the product over the internet. But then I sent them an email and they responded quickly. I also spoke with them over the phone and the representative was nice. She gave me the information but I needed to log in an email and send the details, and that was actually done for me. I’d recommend Viking. When I went into the website I saw so many other products they have too.

We saved up and purchased our Viking Duel Fuel Professional 36 range in 2005. Within the first year, the igniters failed to light the burners. We were told by the local repair that it would cost $600-$800 to replace parts. We chose to manually light the burners which we have now been doing for six years. Another part that failed within the first couple of years of owning the range was the relay switch. We smelled an electrical fire smell and discovered the switch that had fired and replaced it ourselves. The switch failed again last summer and a Viking Pro Service replaced it at the cost of $169.00. Now, two weeks before Christmas with all the holiday baking looming, my Viking Professional Range is failing again. Two more relay switches have repeatedly burned leaving the conclusion that there is something wrong in the wiring or electrical. I cant believe the troubles and cost that this expensive range has caused.

The service couldnt be worse. The 48 refrigerator unit overall is very nice - unfortunately the support staff is awful. This will be my last Viking unless something changes fast! I sure miss my Sub-Zero! The rep also lists an incorrect phone number on her email which just blows me away - when I email her it takes almost a week to get back to me as well.

Im a kitchen and bath remodeling contractor and I installed a Viking rvgr3305bss 30 gas range and, it came with 2 out of 5 knobs, were missing inserts, and called, and was on hold forever. Then when I explained the problem, they said it was probably Best Buys fault??? Luckily they are sending replacements but its a problem that should not exist. They should check these out before shipping them. Ive installed ranges from others that are a third the price and have much better quality - very disappointed. Might I mention this range cost $3,600. Buy Kenmore or Whirlpool, they are of much better quality.

We were limited with space and size and since Vikings one of the ones that fit in it, we decided to choose this brand. We know that its so good. In fact, weve had Viking in other houses and my mother-in-law also has it in their house in Montana. The quality has been excellent. However, were having some problems with the ice maker either because of the way it was hooked up or were not used to it. Also, I like the look of it. So even though we had to go with one of the smaller ones, its a gorgeous refrigerator and its doing its job.

I purchased a Viking package, should of looked into the dishwasher before I made them replace my first dishwasher after it broke 7 days of using it. It caused so much damage to my custom kitchen. Now that its leaking again, it caused more damage to the kitchen cabinets that I might have to remove the granite counter top and sink! The damage is probably 3x the amount of a viking dishwasher. Its been over a month of waiting to be fixed and still it hasnt been fixed

We bought a brand new house and all the appliances were Viking. The original refrigerator that was discontinued was really substandard in the sense that the design was flawed. The freezer is at the bottom half so anything that tumbled from the refrigerator fell on the freezer and the freezer frame was dented. It kept getting dented. I wasnt very happy with the quality so I had to replace that with the model that came about after it was discontinued. I was trying to replace the bottom freezer and I called their parts department and one was better, but the other was charging me $2,000 just for the bottom freezer while a new model costs $3,500. Theres just no recourse as far as their customer service. In addition, somebody recognized that the design was flawed, so they changed it. The freezer frame was no longer stainless steel. It was very very hard plastic and it didnt jut out anymore. So, its horrible that such a design was at all created. There was no quality control. We then got a new refrigerator from Best Buy and they were pretty good except for the delivery that had so much bumbling all over the place. The first people who delivered it didnt know how to handle refrigerators because the foot was dented. Im very dissatisfied with all the Viking appliances we had and Im never going to recommend Viking ever.

Viking Ranges price was attractive and it made me pick them over its competitors. But I’ve had some issues with my range. When they delivered the range, the back burner wasn’t working. I could smell the gas but the fire wouldnt come on and neither of the stoves worked so there was no power going to the stove. They had to replace some circuit in there, and they had to order the part for the back part to do it. My griddle was also brown-looking but I figured that once I cleaned it, it would be okay. I was just on the website last night looking up how to clean and season the griddle the first use. And so, I did everything with the vinegar and then I did the warm soap and water and I did the oil too. But it still looks brown and yucky. I looked up the ones online and they didn’t look like mine looked. There’s a licensed Viking guy seen to fix stuff and he’s coming out tomorrow to fix the back burner so I’m gonna have to ask him if it’s supposed to look like that. The ranges quality is not what I expected and Im a little concerned because I want the stuff to work when I get it and not have to have things fixed. Everyone at the Viking dealership has been nice in telling me that I gotta go through the warranty and they said that if it continues to have issues, I have to have three service calls before they would even look into replacing it. And it sounds a lot of hassle for a brand that’s almost $10000.

10 years ago we did a remodel of our kitchen and game room after saving up for eight years to pay for it. I convinced my wife to purchase the Viking refrigerator over the Sub Zero which she really wanted. She had purchased a Viking range at our old house which she loved and we moved it to our new home. After it and the new refrigerator were installed I felt that it was perfect and I was proud of the fact that we were able to afford such a nice kitchen. Well soon after we had problems that everyone here has had and more. I have been holding back from blasting Viking on the net for a while. Tonight we came home to see water stains in our game room ceiling, coming from the kitchen upstairs right under the fridge. I followed the water line through the drop ceiling up under the fridge. All good, no water or leaks from the line or connection. Then I notice that the drip pan is MELTED completely and is stuck to the floor like TAR. So if you are reading this and you had over heating/thermostat and coolant leaks and ice buildups and gasket replacements and hinge recalls and numerous service calls. YOU better check your drip pan. Did I mention that I work for a moving company and bash Vikings name everywhere I can. Imagine moving furniture for 8 years to pay for this.

My first issue was that EVERY drawer cracked and they refused to replace them when it was clear that the initial cracks happened at installation. Pirch, where I bought the unit, did the honorable thing and resent new ones. This was in the 5th moment of ownership. Thanks Viking! My Viking fridge is now completely out after 9 months and they will get to me after 10 days because they are busy, despite the fact that I told them I have small children. They use 3rd parties who dont care about anything, except to bill Viking. They allege to have fixed their issues and service with the ownership, but that BS as the product is not impressive and the service is a zero. I gave 2 stars for the products good looks, but its all downhill after that, especially after 13k spent! Pos note: Customer Service lady was friendly/respectful.

There was a Viking Range in the house that we just bought. It exhausted and we bought another Viking Range to replace it and its excellent. It did exactly what it advertises it does and you know its well. It looks good in our kitchen and it works. We have three young kids so for us whats important is the functionality and having no issues. As long as the burners go on and we could cook things and use the oven like we do every day, and as long as its high functioning thats great for us.However, Snyder Diamond did not do a good job of communicating with us. They quoted us a certain time frame where the range would be ready but it wasnt ready then. They had the company that they recommended install the range go pick it up at the factory wherever they were holding the stoves and it wasnt there yet. They miscommunicated so it took longer than it should have and it was Snyder Diamonds fault, not the people who installed it. I thought they quoted me in when it will be installed by and then that was pushed by a weekend into the next week. Also, it was hard to get them on the phone or going through that process. I had an email back and forth with the guy from Snyder Diamond cause I was like, Can you give me a call? and he just wouldnt respond. And then I had to literally track him down. We needed the range and Ive never been frustrated and I dont understand why I cant get a callback about this. We were then about to spend $8,000 or $10,000 on this range and I deserved a callback in a timely way.It was top of the time because my wife was pregnant. We needed a stove for heating milk and everyday things, like for breakfast, and every day that passed was getting tenser for us. Its unfortunate for me that theyre the closest distributor of all these parts or products thats in my house now because Im trapped when it comes to dealing with them. On the other hand, the installers were excellent and they had their stuff together. They called me and they got to the bottom of it. They were problem solvers and Snyder Diamond was not.

I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

Ive seen Viking Ranges in some upper-class homes and some friends of ours have them. My wife and I had a premium range, one of the chef cook ranges in another house but it wasn’t a Viking. So, when I looked around in Harway, one of the dealers had four models of Viking. They have a showroom floor that has almost every Viking range they made and then they have a couple of other brands as well. I pretty much knew I wanted the Viking one when I walked in there but I looked at the other one. There were a couple of range that when you put them on simmer, the simmer runs out completely different holes that you just think about the burner. The other range has big holes and it turns the gas down but if you really want the simmer, that may be too many holes to stay lit and it might be too much heat. The other one changes to an inner burner to do that. I thought that was cool but at the end of the day, theres just more stuff to go wrong. I looked at Viking and figured it out. Surprisingly, there was so little difference between them. You could get six burners in 36 inches’ range which is pretty good. And I liked the way Viking looks. Theyre very premium ovens. I also liked that the Viking burners were all the same size instead of having a simmer burner, a non-simmer burner, a big burner and a little burner. Theyre all identical and they all have a simmer feature so you don’t have to try to figure out and it’s one of those kinds of deals. Its designed a bit more for somebody that never forgets. The range I purchased is awesome. I ordered the 36-inch range which comes with a six-burner version. When the box came, it said it was a six burner but when we took it out, the range was the one with the griddle in the middle with its own four burners. I pulled the guys and told them that was the wrong stove. They pulled the box out and showed me the box that has the right part number with the right words on it. It was a big shock to us. I waited five weeks for the range to get here and I didn’t want to wait again. So, I had the range with the griddle installed. I was here when the guys installed it and I had a whole kitchen renovation done when adding this range. I was the only one who wanted and liked the six-burner one but now, I have four burners and the griddle works really nice. My wife also informed me that she liked the griddle one better. The burners work well and they put a lot of heat. Im on propane and theyre 15,000 PTV burners each so it turns out we could really cook something. And all the dishes and pots use the lowest setting now and that we don’t even need that high burner. I like being able to utilize one of the burner stove and the cooktop wont get hot enough. When I bought the range, I wasn’t trying to buy the griddle one but had I known I was getting it, the reps would have told me that there was a wooden cutting board that goes on the griddle. And it covers the griddle up so youre not looking at the ugly black griddle that gets naturally darker with time. Theres also the stainless-steel cover for it. The Viking Range stove itself has a dust-cover bottom. So, I was surprised that the Viking people didn’t try to upsell any of the options. I wanted the dust-cover bottom cause it keeps things from going under the range. These things are made like commercial ranges where theyre open at the bottom but most people don’t want that. So, I had to go back and buy that part. Then I found out that they had a wooden piece that goes in the griddle and the cover that goes over the griddle. I drove back from driving 27 miles to pick them up. I would have rather they showed me all that stuff when I bought the oven. The only reason I knew it was when I went on a Viking website and I saw all that. When the wooden thing that goes in the griddle, the cutting board and the cover first came in, they were wrong and the guy told me that he knew that I already had a bad experience. He looked and came back and told me that those were the wrong parts. So, he reordered them again so something is going on with Viking shipping. They cant put the right stuff in the right box and thats frustrating especially when youre on back order and I had to wait six weeks. When I got the stove, Viking gave me a discount coupon for their pots, pans and the skillets so I went back and bought a bunch of skillets and stuff using their discount which was really cool. Viking has a lot of accessories that were not in the store. You would never know about them unless you read their little coupon that you normally throw away. I ordered the big stainless spatula and spoon that hang and two of them are on back orders. But, the two I got were gorgeous and I’m going to hang them on the wall. If a person buys an $8,000 oven, Viking salesmen should sell up and show all the accessories. I love the Viking equipment but their process of shipping the equipment is flawed. I don’t like ordering things and getting the wrong things. Im okay with the griddle now although its not what I ordered.

We originally had a Northland refrigerator and it had a single, swing-out door. We started looking for another ref and we decided to go with a ref with double doors. I opened every two-door, swing-out model and looked at the trays, shelves, drawers, and guides, and how well these were made and fitted. Compared to their competitors, Viking had the product with the best custom interior and guides for drawers and shelves, and they were hands down above all the other ones that we saw on the market. Also, our experience with the dealer was excellent. They do a nice job and we buy a lot of appliances from them. The ref we got from them is nice and we like it. Viking has always had a good reputation and it competes with Wolf and Sub-Zero. The refrigerator that we got is cool and the range works well but weve been disappointed with the dishwasher. It doesnt dry well and weve told the dealer about it. A friend of ours got the same dishwasher we did and theyre equally displeased with it. Were both used to a competitor brand called Miele and their products are much better and put Viking to shame. Having a Viking Range is something that Ive always wanted for quite some time. Theyre expensive, but at my age now, I am finally able to afford it. I enjoyed cooking and never had this stuff with a high-end range before. I enjoy Viking a lot. I like the six-burner. I never had that many burners before. I could do simultaneously more things on the stove instead of taking turns before. Theyre all have nice sizes too. With the classic, it is just a four-burner range, you only have two small ones. You couldnt put a big pot on it. Then youre limited only to two larger ones. With Viking, theyre basically all the same size. It gave me a lot of options. We had some issues with the installation from Monark Appliances which is the store where we bought the appliances. But after that, when we contacted Viking, they were quite helpful. We had four appliances we got from them and they helped me register all the products online. Then they gave me the name of a local appliance or service dealer who could come fix the issue weve had with the installation that wasnt done properly. Ive been happy with the service we received so far.

My mom had a Viking range. I liked that it had the dual fuel and self-cleaning oven, so we got one too and we really like it. It is sturdy and seems very well-made, unlike some of those cheap or lower-end brands. I like all of its features. I like that the burner grates are individual, so they’re not so heavy to lift up. I saw that some other brands had only three burner grates or these were doubles, and I did not like having to pick up that heavy stuff. We went through Ferguson to buy our Viking range and they were great. We spent a lot of time looking into the range that we would buy because we just remodeled our whole kitchen and I’m hoping that our range will last for a very long time like my mom’s. Viking stove experience EVGIC365-6B SS - We have bought this stove back in 2006 in Europe. It is by far the best cooking device available on the market today. Only one extremely negative downside: We have had to replace the spark modules almost every year on average. This was the 10th time. It seems to be a design fault. You may expect that they last longer. The spark models are located fairly close to the rear burners of the stove and are only lightly protected by an thin sheet of aluminum cover. The way the blue plastic spark modules look after being replaced, it seems that the on-board electronics are cooked to the extreme as well. Whats your opinion on that re Viking guys?

But of course we had a 48-inch space, so we needed a big oven to fill that space instead of redoing the counters. My wife looked at Wolf, Thermador, and the likes and they were all comparably priced. Viking was on the higher end, but one of the main things that had my wife decide was that she was able to get it in colors. Also, she had worked in the restaurant business before and had used Viking on the commercial side. So she knew that they held up and they lasted. The Viking Range works as advertised. It has a griddle and a convection feature. It also has a small oven for a casserole dish and a big one that would fit a full-size cookie sheet with room to spare. We bought it in a store and the dealer was helpful and courteous. They also answered all our questions. However, we had to wait for 12 weeks because of the color but on the day we decided to buy it, we were in and out of there in no time at all.

The quality has been pretty good. Their features are the same as any other brand but as far as what Ive heard, Viking is very efficient. Initially, we had a problem with the smell of gas. Every time we turned our range on, only part of the burner tube was lighting up and the other one wasnt. When the Viking guy came, he showed us what was happening. He told us to turn the oven all the way up to 450, then bring it down to the temperature that we want. After that, we have not had any issue.

Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

I followed the seasoning directions for my range. After attempting to season the grill, it immediately rusted. When I contacted Viking about this problem; they responded first with having a certified personnel come out and take a look at the rust. Then when the personnel reported it back to Viking they responded with it was a human error and did nothing about this at all. I followed the seasoning procedures in their manual. Viking blamed me for the rust. Unprofessional and ridiculous.

How can it be? We thought made in America, we would get great quality. What a disappointment. The kitchen was remodeled 5 years ago. This past month, we had problems with both Viking products, the Viking range VGIC3676BS and the refrigerator. We are now out of Viking warranty. The NSI insurance for these products is a nightmare to deal with - a waste of money. They give you the runaround. The Viking range oven just stopped working, we think it is the igniter. It does not matter that when you call Mississippi, they speak to you with their Southern charm, you still have an expensive appliance that simply does not work! No one cares, not at all, because it is not happening to them! The fact that we bought expensive products does not matter in todays world. Anyone recalls the days when we had an oven that lasted 30 years? We are so disgusted with Viking. We regret spending the money for something that obviously was made with planned obsolescence in mind. Wish there was a way we could warn people about this company. I would like to put signs on retailer stores, buyer beware.

I bought my Viking refrigerator about two months ago. We remodeled our kitchen and I just put it in about three weeks ago. I haven’t had good luck with it so far. The door doesnt close and they haven’t fixed it yet since I bought it. They came out and looked at it and they said they had to order parts, and they said they’ll get back to me in a week or two. I was on hold for over six hours one day, trying to get a hold of them. Once we got through, there were a lot of problems. We had to do a lot of it online and then they wanted pictures of the serial number ‘cause they didn’t believe us. Its been a terrible experience.

There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it
There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it. The range does not sit all the way in because the gas hookup isn’t compatible with a spec home. So theres a three-inch gap between the range and the wall. We were told by Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is where we bought the range, that we needed to get an L joint to connect it and push it further back. But they havent been able to do that. Theyve given us absolutely no guidance in what to do about it now. Changing it from a connector that comes up through the floor is simply not an option. According to our builder, its not usual to put the gas line through the floor. It’s usual to put it through the wall because ranges normally have a dead space at the bottom. Apparently, Viking does not. It’s not my first Viking, so I dont know why it never happened before. Nebraska Furniture Mart has been zero help. So we’re working with our builder to see what we can do. The range is not flushed against the wall. So when the automatic fan comes on, it vibrates like crazy. We’ve built several houses and we’ve had Viking range before. We like it and it’s a good range. We’ve never had any problems with the actual functioning of the range.

I purchased a 48-inch built-in Viking refrigerator and I thought it was going to be nice to match the manufacturer of the refrigerator, range, and dishwasher. But ever since the Best Buy people brought the appliances, I’ve been having issues with them. Their delivery, installation, and the product itself. I don’t think that whoever delivered these products were qualified to do this job. Nothing was level and regardless if the unit itself is broken or not, they should at least try to level it. And the range was the floor model and the door was not rocking. So, the installer was telling us that it was broken. The door itself tends to get rust so I should’ve never bought the floor model. With the refrigerator, the first delivery people and the installer took about four hours to fit the door together to close it right. Two days after they left, the door was not closing. And when you open the door all the way, it made a loud metal hitting noise. I’m very dissatisfied. I went to Best Buy and they have decided to replace the refrigerator with a brand-new one and I made a return on the Viking Range floor model. I purchased the brand-new one by paying the differences and hopefully, with this replacement I don’t get any problem.

Aside from that, I'm a big person that grew up where you didn't rely on other countries for anything and with Viking, everything is made here in the USA. It provides jobs for people here and the quality isn't junk. Compared to that, I've been seeing a lot of things deteriorate in products that were imported into the country.

The shelves got broken during shipping which costs $200 a piece. And for as much as we spent on it, it doesn’t have an ice maker or a water dispenser. So I bought a Viking ice maker. Were purchasing a new house and we wanted to replace all the old appliances with new ones. Weve always had other types of refrigeration but since we were also looking at enhancing the resale value of the house, we considered upgrading to Viking for the new home. Weve had issues with their refrigerator so we had it replaced. The new refrigerator we received needs a new panel because there were some dents in the delivery, but that is more on the delivery and the installation, rather than the actual product itself. They will be replacing the panels free of charge since its under warranty but its a little inconvenient because someone has to be at home. We have to leave for work and we have a baby.A lot of Viking products, including their refrigeration, are not necessarily standard size or there are certain components that need to be installed properly so it needs a special kind of installation to make sure that they fit. So theres a gap between the retail sale and the actual installation of the product. It ended up being a pain for us in receiving our Viking package because it wasnt installed properly initially and then we had to get the installers. We also ended up waiting from September until January to get the kitchen appliances all right so, my husband and I are now thinking why we didnt go with the higher end LG line that recently came out or some of the higher end Samsung or Bosch appliances or something that’s not necessarily a Viking or Wolf or Jenn-Air, but still in the big-box type chain. We dont know if we would do it again.

Fridge is leaking water on to the floor after 4 years. Authorized service tech didnt find anything wrong but changed thermostat just in case was the problem. Fridge still leaks. YouTube videos show it is likely a clogged drain line. After taking apart fridge we can see the evaporation tray is completely dry, yet water is leaking on floor. Why didnt tech even check this??? Gas Range model VGCC5366BSS installed Oct. 2013. Oven continually failed due to fried control module. The module was replaced over a dozen times, and during one period where we were waiting for parts, the company installed a temporary 30 range of the same model, and it failed within 2 months for the same reason. The repairman set up surge protectors, ran a new electrical circuit, had the utility monitor for electrical surges, and had us use a door wedge to hold the oven door tightly closed (the last theory was that heat was escaping from the oven and burning the circuit board). I just found out today (not from Viking!), that there is a huge recall on Viking and Brigade freestanding gas ranges (US & Canada), including my model. Go to Consumer Product Safety Commission (US), or Healthycanadians.gc.ca.

When we went to the store here, we were going to try and get a Viking stove. We had to get a Wolf. We were looking at a refrigerator, too, and when we saw the Viking refrigerator, we thought it looked cool, so we got it as well. It’s expensive and costs more than a regular refrigerator, but its nice. We like the look and the layout - the top and bottom with two doors on the top. It feels kind of solid, plus, we like the way it lights up on the inside when we open the door. We also like the dashboard in the inside of the door where we could look at all the different stuff we could do. Weve only had it a short time and so far, so good. We got a Sub-Zero in our other house and it’s comparable to that.

Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

We wanted to have a name brand appliance for our home and the cost point for Viking Range was slightly better. It has a noisy fan that runs after you run the stove and you turn it off and you’re having dinner and this thing just keeps running and running. There’s no adjustment to it and there’s no way to bypass it. It’s a deficient feature and that is a cause of some significant dissatisfaction. Other than that, I like it. It has good quality and Im pretty happy with it. We’re 9,000 feet and the gas nozzles were the wrong size for this altitude. The local guy from East River Appliance Repair was completely clueless and had really no value. I was ready to return the thing and I was really unhappy with it. But Viking was willing to bring a guy four hours from Denver up to Crested Butte, Colorado and fix a problem that the local guy was clueless about. The guy up from Denver was a real pro. He knew what he was doing and fixed everything. He said that the door was not primarily damaged and it could be adjusted. He saved the day for Viking. I thought the range was a defective unit and this guy was able to correct everything and showed that it wasnt defective. I’m pretty happy with the customer service I got.

My choices are limited when I go to 36-inches as far as the manufacturers. Viking was one of them. And at the time, they gave an incentive. When I bought the range, I got a free Viking dishwasher. The quality is good. When the range was delivered, there were some scratches on it. The store that I purchased it from had somebody come out and take care of it. I used the broiler six months after I bought the range and it didnt work. So, the appliance store sent out whoever they use for repairs and service and they were able to fix the problem. The one question I have is why when you go to a 36-inch range, Viking doesnt offer a self-cleaning oven. Also, the 36-inch range is more of a commercial range. Because we pay a good amount for these ranges, Viking should give a tutorial after they install it. How to use it, what to look for, how to clean it. That would be helpful.

So, I registered with Viking and they sent service techs from R&E Appliance who were able to take care of the problem right away. It was a little disappointing that the range needed new parts right away. Other than that, the range has been working ever since it was repaired. I love the quality of the range and I like the way the lights light up across that I can see my knobs. Then the burners are on high right away when I turn them on, so I don’t have to fiddle to get them on high because they usually don’t cook low. Bought both (Viking 30 All Fridge, and Viking 30 All Freezer) as showroom models at a discount manufactured 2009 and 2006. Thought they would be under warranty. Problems began - freezer does not freeze my ice cream. They replaced the coils, the fan, the thermistor, the thermistor connector wire. And STILL it does not freeze my ice cream. I have to manually defrost the freezer, then it works ok for a week then back again. Fridge is another story. Started off randomly beeping once a month or so. So I turned off the fridge and turned it back on, and it seemed fine. That was 3 months ago. Now it does not stop beeping, and the fan does not come on. We replaced the thermistor, the powerboard and still it’s beeping. Viking has now told me it is no longer under warranty and so Im on my own. They cant understand why it beeps. Ive had 4 different technicians come out and they are at a loss. Viking does not want to speak to me, since I am not a technician, and have no warranty. Problem is, it’s not easy to replace a 60 space in the middle of the cabinets and I cant think of replacing the whole kitchen which is only 2 years old.

My husband bought the Viking dishwasher and he wanted a matching appliance. We did the purchasing through ABT and they’re great. We think that Viking is a good brand and it looks nice. We got the French doors and set it side by side, like our old KitchenAid which was there when we bought the house. Our Viking refrigerator is fine, but the clips that hold down the racks in the freezer keep coming off from day one when we havent had it for very long, six months at most. ABT came out last week but they never did anything about the clips. So I told my husband to make sure to ask them about it when they come back out. We’ve called ABT to have that corrected. Were waiting for them to call back.Theres also one minor thing. Most refrigerators have feet you can adjust if it needs to go up or down an inch. Viking doesnt have that. We have a two-inch gap at the top of the refrigerator, between the old cabinets and refrigerator. They were able to adjust the KitchenAid to go up to it and with the Viking, you can’t. But I liked the style of the French doors and those big shelves and big, perfect trays.

We went to a local appliance store and looked at a number of different brands and models. I did some research online. Ultimately, after the salesperson had described the aspects of each, we settled on the Viking. Viking has that kind of a household cache to it. It seemed to have a good track record. My wife is an interior designer so she has helped clients choose their appliances, and the feedback she has gotten has been positive too. We like the looks of the range and the burner configuration was to our liking. However, I wish it had a timer or a clock on it. We had to buy an auxiliary timer. Our previous stove had one and it was quite convenient. We had gotten used to that over the years so that was a bit inconvenient. Also, the dials are black on black, which makes it a bit tough to read. You have to get down low. If there was some contrast to the dials to make it easier to read, that would be an improvement. And the blower that cools the unit down is a bit annoying. It comes on a lot and lasts for quite a while. We had to make a service call because the igniter was not catching and it was spewing gas into the kitchen. We had to call the Fire Department the first time it happened. It happened over the Christmas vacation so repairmen weren’t open, and the one appliance repairman who services our entire county was backed up for three weeks. We had to live with that problem for three weeks and that was very frustrating. We did finally get the technician in, and he took the range all apart, moved the igniter closer to the gas outlet, and we haven’t had a problem with it since.

I always heard that Viking was top-of-the-line, which was what I wanted, and that made me purchase it. My range has been magnificent. I wouldnt buy no other stove but Viking. But the purchasing process was horrible. Had I known that I could have dealt with Viking myself, I would have gone straight through them. The delivery people were unprofessional. They said that they were gonna take my stove back if I didn’t pay them $300 for the hook-up service. I called my husband and he was so upset because we had already given them $6,500. They said it wasnt in what I paid. He told me I needed to pay them in cash. So, it was a gimmick. My husband said that we were not gonna do business with them and told me to go upstairs, get the money and give it to them so they could get out. And that was what I did. I called AJ Madison, the people I purchased it from, but I would never do business with them ever again. I would never recommend anybody to them. They should not even be selling Viking products. I am in the midst of a kitchen remodel. When searching for a range, Viking was definitely the brand at the top of my list. We were in Best Buy one afternoon for something unrelated. I went over to the range section of the store to browse, not knowing that Best Buy even carried Viking. As I walked through the aisles I noticed a white Viking Range. It was beautiful and fit my kitchen design perfectly. When we asked about the range, we were told it was returned by the customer, it didnt fit their design. So we purchased it immediately out of box. Last week, my contractors brought it into our home and installed it. Right away, we realized it was not working properly. We were told when we bought it, there was a two year warranty. I made a call to customer support. They patched me through to a technician who thought the issue was air in the gas line. We ran the range several times, following his instructions, and it still did not work. I called back to customer support and was told I had to register first and that takes 24 hours. I registered the range and called back the next day. I was then told the product was registered to someone else. The rep said he had to do some investigation and called me back. Turns out my warranty is expired because the customer who returned the range registered it and this had occurred two years prior. That was their final answer and they did nothing to rectify my issue. So, now I sit here with a Viking range that does not work in my brand new kitchen. While we are pursuing Best Buy to resolve our issue, I feel that the help I receive with my issue was unacceptable, given the price and reputation of the product. I will never look at another Viking product.Updated on 07/05/2018: We bought an “out of box” Viking range from Best Buy. We were told there was a 2 yr warranty - that was Best Buy’s error. When installed, the range did not work. After calling Viking Customer Service 4 times, I gave up. No one called me back. I called a Viking certified repair place and paid to have them come out. It was going to cost $1700 to fix my NEW range. AND, the technician recommended I return it as it looked like it had been taken apart. I did as he recommended and bought a different brand. I will NEVER buy Viking again.

We remodeled our apartment a few years ago with a new kitchen. I wanted to use all American made appliances and purchased Viking products to include: Oven, stove top, microwave and refrigerator. I have had issues with all the appliances and most have been resolved but my refrigerator ice maker remains unrepairable. The refrigerator is no longer under warranty but I have tried for years to have the ice maker repaired at different times. It will work for a very short duration and then will build up ice and the whole refrigerator needs to be defrosted and a part needs to be replaced. Here are some of my out of pocket costs: 5/7/18 $89.95, 2/6/18 $142.70, 11/8/16 $256.00, 10/26/16 $59.95.Viking initially was receptive to trying to help me resolve this issue but of late I received this email. I was told we unfortunately cannot issue another warranty authorization for you but to contact Appliance Pros since the part is still covered for a year after installed by authorized service company. The repair technician can no longer fix my appliance as in his opinion, the ice maker is a lemon. He is the owner of Appliance Pros which has been on Vikings approved vendor list and he has serviced it since the problems began. Now I am left with a very expensive refrigerator that cant make ice (in Florida) and I have no recourse. I would not recommend that anyone buy Viking products! They should be replacing the refrigerator given all we have dealt with and the amount of money we spent on their products and make good on their lemon refrigerator.

But other than that, my customer service interactions have been good.

After two repairmen from two different companies offering to repair everything from the motherboard to the seals (for the same stated problem) and spending over $1500, I still cant bake cookies that dont turn into rocks as soon as they cool. No one has heard of this problem (they suggested the $5 inside thermostat which I got). Everything seems to check out but it is like all the moisture gets sucked out of really small items like cookies when cakes do fine. There must be something also wrong with the uneven heat because 2 roasted chickens had to be pan fried (with 8 guests offering suggestions) after 1.5 hrs of cooking at 425. I hate this oven. Anyone heard of this desiccating cookie problem?

I heard through a friend that Viking was one of the top tier appliance manufacturers. I looked at pricing versus quality. Vikings was very comparable. I also looked at the name brand and features that were offered. Viking was the way to go. I like that the refrigerator is counter-depth. It really blends in the look with the appearance in my kitchen. It looks like its built in. Its definitely an upgrade to what I had before. You can tell that the refrigerator is high quality. The interactions with the Viking dealer was good, but when they delivered the dishwasher it was damaged. They made good and replaced it with a brand new one though. Id tell friends that Im impressed with Viking and that it definitely is the right way to go.

We want to have high end appliances and our refrigerator choice were between Viking and Wolf. But we felt Viking was more professional grade, so we went with it. Its overall quality was good, but the door was not aligned when they were delivered. So we had to follow up, and they brought a technician through the dealer to readjust the door. I was disappointed about that and I was not 100% satisfied. But in terms of the condition, its working fine, so Im good. So far, my experience with them was satisfactory and their product looks dependable.

I bought my Viking microwave (which is really made by Sharp) in August of 2013 and have already had to have the door switch replaced 3 times. It is only Nov. 4th, 2013! Guess what, today the microwave quit working for the 4th time. The same thing happens as the last 3 times. I can reset the breaker and as soon as I open the microwave door, the breaker trips again. So, I have learned to put the food in the microwave, flip the breaker and heat my food. As soon as I open the door to take out my food the breaker trips again. This has to be some kind of joke. I paid a hefty price tag for my Viking appliances and have only had a working microwave for just over half of the time Ive owned it. It always takes at least 10 days for parts to come and then 2 days to schedule a repair man. So, for a total of 35 days or so since mid-August until now, I havent had a working microwave. Now my Viking stove has an issue after just a few months. The center burner constantly tries to light. The burner is on with a flame, but the ignitor is constantly clicking and sparking, but thats another review.

We made a big city-to-city move and bought a new home in another city. A key feature of which was a custom high-end kitchen renovation of which these Viking appliances are a core feature and part of the financial value of the decision to purchase this home. Weve never had high-end appliances in our past because we couldnt afford them nor did we really think we needed them. The appliances were professionally installed as part of a kitchen renovation by the previous owners, purchased new, and they were less than four years old when we moved in. Its a Viking Professional, 48-inch wide range which is one of very few of that width, and a very high Viking Professional refrigerator. We moved in mid-2015 and were approaching two years in the home. Ive had six service calls and multiple, very expensive parts replacements in the Viking gas range and the oven has not worked since we moved in. Initially, it turned on but the front panel was overheating excessively to the point where you had to put oven mitts on to turn the knobs. It was that hot. Also, when we first moved in, we had trouble with the refrigerator initially and I hadnt really noticed because we were busy moving in and doing a lot of take-out. I also didnt notice the problem with the oven until a month or so in.Now that Im looking back on it, what happened is our local service partner - who is a Viking certified partner and is one of the top family-owned appliances repair companies in the entire city with a very good reputation - has told me repeatedly that there is no telephone number which their service partners can call. They have to email as the only way to communicate with the parts department but Im assuming that with Viking as a provider or manufacturer, they had a parts plant here in Canada. First the service guy said there are problems like the door wasnt fitting perfectly flushed and he thought because of the clients who had problems with the door hinges that if we replace those it might seal the unit better and therefore address the overheating issue because he wasnt getting any error codes at that time when he did a scan of the electronics inside the oven. He decided to do that and he also ordered a griddle and the main knob, which I knew was gonna be an expensive part. I figured it would be about $600, plus labor and it was. It had been chipped and sheared off by the previous owner when they installed the kitchen. They sheared it off with a piece of granite for the counter when they were doing the renovation so, I knew that was gonna be expensive, but that has nothing to do with the ongoing issue. We replaced the hinges and another small component. Those parts took six months to arrive. Every month, I was calling the local service partner and after the second or third month, because I didnt wanna push, I thought maybe theyre back ordered. It turned out that Vikings parts plant in Canada and the whole manufacturing facility plus customer service had moved to the United States across the border at the same time that our parts order went in. Not only that but by the time they identified that Viking had actually lost the order six months later, they claimed they never received it. The customer service call center had moved to a second US location like within a years time so, there were multiple communication operational issues on the Viking end.By the third time, I asked them to call Viking parts and escalate this because Ive been with no oven for two months and the first $1,000 repair didnt do anything. The lady insisted that there was no way to do that. They dont have a phone number like the technicians and if theyre on site and they need to talk to a Viking technical support personnel, they have a phone number they can call. But between the service partners and the parts department, its only by email. We waited six months and we identified the issue four months later. They sent another email and Viking finally replied and said they dont have any orders for those two parts. They replaced the order for both parts in month four and its like they should have those parts within a couple of weeks. But two weeks later, I hadnt heard from the local partner. So, I called them and learned that the second part is on back order and it wont be ready for six weeks. When those parts finally came, the technician was very good, knowledgeable and he has a lot of experience, which is rare out there with Viking. He replaced the parts, tested it and it seemed to be okay. The very next day, I was all excited so I bought a roast. Within about an hour to an hour and 15, I noticed the oven had shut off automatically and would not restart. At the same time, when the panel would overheat if you tried to use the top of the range to make potatoes and vegetable or if the oven had shut off and was overheated, the gas range atop would not ignite like a safety shut off feature so, I couldnt make a meal. Then, he came and replaced another major component and not only did it shut off but it started to not even ignite in the first place. You wouldnt hear the click before the gas engages and it would not start at all. So, I called the local service partner back and he said that they had built a cooling fan which wasnt part of the original design. But it seemed to resolve the overheating and the spark module most of the time in the repair environment. Sometimes, they cover it for some customers if they complained enough. So, I spent two weeks going back and forth with a very nice customer care warranty person because its out of warranty four or five years later, but its a newer appliance. These things are like $15,000 and thats like a car. Given how young it was when we bought it as part of the home and the cost of the thing, I wont do it. Even if I was a gazillionaire, just on principle, I wont do it nor can we afford to and nothing else will fit in that space either because its a custom kitchen designed around these appliances. I think there are only three 48-inch wide ranges that would fit into that space, gas ranges that are even available from any manufacturer. Finally, I had to fight because the previous owner hadnt registered it. She said she cant do anything for me because they dont recognize a registration for warranty purposes of the original purchase. I went to the package with all the receipts the previous owner left with us for all the renos and purchases and found the bills from where they purchased. I was on hold with the warranty department for more than 45 minutes and I work full time, after all of this for a year and a half. I called her back and I asked if there is a fast track that she could help me out with because I was on hold for 45 minutes and I had called before calling her. I called back a second to the number she gave to me in case I got disconnected and waited another half an hour and I was just getting frustrated. I figured out for myself on their website that I could do it online because I had the receipt and the serial number and the date and all the information required. So, I did it online myself and then called the customer service person back and told her that it was done. She said that now that its registered, shes going to ask their regional service manager for Canada who works with Canadian providers if they will, as an exception given what Ive been through, still cover the cooling unit to go with the spark module. I dont know how much the cooling thing would be but its probably another $500. Weve spent about $4,000 or $5,000 on these appliances in 17 months and theyre less than five years old. Thats parts and labor and the labor is like nothing compared to the cost of the parts. So, she said shes gonna ask for an exception under the circumstances.I waited and it was 10 days or two weeks later that I got a voicemail message from her letting me know that their service manager has declined to cover it back for me. Im usually a fairly reasonable, calm person, but I was like going up straight. I got really angry and I called her back and as calmly and politely as I could, I told her I dont think shes being reasonable. Not her personally but the process and the disconnected communication. I would like for their regional sales manager to please talk to my local technician from their service partner directly so they can understand the history. Then, he might make a more favorable decision. Eventually, the technician had to send a big detailed ticket of the most recent part replacement that he did, his idea of the diagnostics and circumstances and what his recommendation was. They talked on the phone together and it was approved right away.My impression right now of Viking as a manufacturer and the post-sale service is not positive. Ive worked in the network telecom business most of my career. Customer market facing and I know a lot about manufacturing, about different types of business operations and customer service but Ive never seen something this bad in my entire life. Until I see it given, what Ive experienced so far, I have no confidence that this repair part replacement will address the issue. Id really like them to ship me a brand new replacement oven, in working order, and install it for me cause at this point, I think we have a lemon. I feel its a defective unit and it should probably be replaced.I dont want what happened to us to happen to other people. I had seen the negative reviews because of the problems that we were having from the beginning and if we had known this, we might not have even purchased this house. I would recommend pretty much any other brand. Thats a lesson Ive learned from this manufacturer.

I bought a Viking range because of the way its made and its performance. It’s the second one that I bought. I sold my other home and the new buyers wanted that range. There was nothing else on the market I would look at. I would buy it again. There isnt anything I dislike about the range. It does a beautiful job. The design is beautiful too. I’ve seen Viking Ranges around, and Ive seen them evolve into a more sophisticated product than they were originally. They are robust, close to commercial in quality and performance, but have the benefit of being thoughtful of a residential home. They have convection, high heat, and different things one might want, like a broiler and a griddle, and you may or may not want it. And they have stood the test of time. I had a Garland for 25 years. It was commercial and rugged, but it didnt keep up.The reps were not knowledgeable at the store that I bought it at. But they were not unfriendly. I came prepared, having done my homework. And I felt a little rushed. But too bad for me, you have to have tough feelings. I had an insurance plan and something went wrong. And the insurance wasnt the easiest thing to work out. It was hard to get them and to get help. That was a little slippery. The irony of it all is my electrician rewired the kitchen and they had switched the neutral. The stove knew it, and was misbehaving, and we thought it was the stove. The people in Brooklyn who fixed it, top shelf. They could have told me anything. They diagnosed the truth. “You got the wrong polarity, fix it”. We fixed it, but the stove was never broken. That is more important to me than the sales people by a mile. Viking has excellent factory trained technicians. Love that. The reason I bought the Viking was it has a smart sensor. If the flame went out, it knew, and it lighted it. I was stunned at that. It may have been around a long time, but I didnt know about it. So it has everything I’ve seen in lots of places, but it has a smart technology that is lifesaving. It’s fantastic. The caveat is weve had it a few years. The quality is good, and the performance is excellent. We rattle the doors, turn the knobs and spill things just like anybody else. And so far, its just humming along. I would recommend that stove in a heartbeat. And this is a person who had a Garland for a long time.

We were looking for refrigerators when remodeling our kitchen, and I liked the inside of the Viking. I wish I hadnt picked Viking though. After 12 years, we had to replace the refrigerator. We have the double that are side by side, which was extremely expensive in replacing it. And now, its been double the price. So, I dont have good feelings about Viking. I would never buy it again. We paid to have it fixed once or twice, which was very expensive. I had found the quality to be very poor. There was something wrong with our freezer door, which the freezer mechanism has already been replaced as well at great expense. I complained immediately about the refrigerator when it was put in. It should have been replaced. The door was faulty. I was put through so many hoops. We finally gave up. That door should have been replaced from the beginning, and then we wouldnt have had this problem. They wanted to charge us $600 to come out to look at it before they even replaced it after we had already spent money and had it evaluated by somebody they approved of. They were charging us again. They should come and take both of the refrigerator and freezer out and replace them. Im very unimpressed. Im disappointed with Viking refrigerator and freezers.

If you are considering a Viking appliance RUN away as fast as you can! This is the 3rd built in refrigerator/freezer I’ve had installed and what a nightmare it’s been working with the Viking company! Awful to say the least. This 3rd built in was installed 5 years ago and now both voltage boards have died. The serviceman just told me that one of the boards, the main one that runs everything, is on back order! Oh how I’ve been down this road before with Viking when they installed the 2nd piece of crap that did the exact same thing but only after 2 months of having it installed. It took over 3 months of pulling my hair out before I had a refrigerator/freezer that worked. Because that same board was on back order and they didn’t know when it would be available and because it was under warranty I demanded a new refrigerator/freezer as that’s why a 3rd one was installed. I wrote the company explaining all the problems and grief I went through and asked for an extended warranty. I received a letter from Viking telling how sorry they were about all the problems but SORRY we cannot extend the warranty. I received NO compensation from this ** hole of a company! They truly DON’T care about their customers!!! Run I say, RUN. Can’t wait to see how long it will take before I have a working refrigerator/freezer again!

I buy design magazines and Ive always liked Viking. I liked its look and the efficiency, and Ive always thought Viking lasts longer so I definitely had the idea in my mind that it was a step above Thermador. I bought it four months ago but I bought it in Kentucky and I live in Utah, so it was in transit. I just registered it and Ive had it for more than a month. I bought it mainly for exterior and the tray storage feature that could store big platters and cakes. But I ended up liking the LED feature on the inside without knowing I picked it for that. I was surprised how cool the LED lights were. When the fridge was put in initially, the circuit board had a little wire popped out and it wasn’t turning on. I thought it was going to be a big fix. The compressor worked but it wasn’t getting cold and I sent the crew away without final install because I had my house under construction back then. A man came out to repair the fridge and now its all good. Everything has been great.

We went with Viking because it was highly recommended but the doors of the range we got were off and they would stick out to one side. The quality was horrible. They brought me another one and I told the guys to make sure that the unit is okay before they remove the one that I had. When they opened it, the guy said it’s worse than what I got. They took it back and brought me a different one. The one I ordered was a Series 5 and when the man came from Viking, he looked at them and said he was gonna move me up to a Series 7. It still had a little bit of a problem but their guys came and removed the bottom plate and kind of played with it. Now, it works perfectly. It took about a year until I finally got the one that I presently have. I had to go and buy an induction hotplate. Whoever is putting these things together, their quality control people are not doing a very good job. The range is wonderful but the experience was terrible. After paying so much money for a range and then have to deal with so much drama with it, I wouldn’t do it again. My son is building a new house and I told him to not get into a Viking stove.

I got lucky while shopping for a counter depth refrigerator at Best Buy. It happened that BB had a discount on their Viking 36 French Door Bottom Freezer floor model as they were replacing that model with a newer model. On top of that the floor model had a small dent on the door, so it was further discounted. Im have never owned a high end refrigerator... Its amazing in comparison to my last GE Profile. Good looking design, even down to the control panel. I was concerned about having the bottom freezer and now prefer it over a side by side. The interior LED lights are amazing. Fitting a pizza box on the wide shelving is fantastic. The motor is relatively quiet, a bit noisier when it goes through some sort of cycle every so often for a few minutes.

We purchased a home with a Viking range and dishwasher. We have lived here five years and we have our dishwasher serviced at least once a year. Wires continue to burn up. Weve placed major parts and the pump, and last night something in the front panel started a fire and melted a hole in the inside metal. We had a house full of smoke, but thankfully we were home before the kitchen went up in flames. Weve already spent the cost of the washer in repairs and will not even call a technician this time. We will be buying a new dishwasher, but never again a Viking appliance. Our range has not had all the same problems, but the igniters are unreliable. The oven takes 1/2 hour to reach the desired temperature. The door is heavy and were just waiting for it to break. The writing has worn off in many places on the knob panel. These are just not problems you expect from high end appliances.I do not recommend Viking. They are not worth the money and their customer service department is entirely useless.

We got a bunch of Viking. Also, all the fire stations in our local county government have Viking equipment in it so we stayed with them ‘cause it’s better than residential equipment. Then we had a problem with the oven and it was the left button on the stove. I called Viking, they gave us a reference number, and a company called Top Notch Appliance was supposed to come and fix it. They were supposed to call us to let us know when they were coming but they never did so we called them and they were closed for two weeks. I called Viking back a second time to see if there was somebody else and I was told it was just Top Notch for our service area. Then they called back a few days later and did a good job fixing it. Its just a matter of how long it took. Viking should have a backup company ‘cause the second time I called, the reference number was for the same small company. I asked the guy who came if he was the owner of the company. He said he was and his wife took calls. But Viking is a good range.

My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but I’ve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but there’s still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off I’m able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So we’re back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand what’s going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, I’m not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. They’re expensive appliances. When you go online, people aren’t that happy with the range either.

When I put something in it, it does not taste like the refrigerator. Also, the ice never tastes funny. I don’t care how old the ice is. It’s perfect. Those are the important things. However, the drawers were cracked. I had a bottle of soda explode in it, and it flows on the top shelf. It’s leaking, and there are only two of us living in the house so it’s not from overuse or abuse. The repairmen have been coming out fixing everything, and the drawers are now fixed and the leak is gone. When we have a problem, we call the dealer and they send someone out, and now they escalated it so someone from Viking comes out. They’re responsive.

I had a girlfriend who had a Viking range from years ago and it worked really well for her with no problems. That was encouraging for me. Although Viking started having a lot of issues, it sounded in various sites that I was reading that they had been taken care of so I decided I would go with the company. The sales rep showed us a lot of variety of different brands of stoves. When it came to us looking at the Viking range, he didnt pressure us and he told us to take our time. He just showed us the various features of it. We were pleased and we went back a second time. We were still satisfied with the way he was handling everything. Were really were enjoying our range. Were happy with the intensity of the heat and how it responds. Its such a solid range and its very efficient. It looks good and it feels good to work with it. Also, we got our range at a reduced price as it was on sale. That helped. For what we paid for it and given the quality, it was money well-spent. I looked at other models of stoves and this one seemed superior for the difference in cost.

My son had everything Viking in his house and my wife wanted a Viking range
My son had everything Viking in his house and my wife wanted a Viking range for a long time but we couldn’t afford it until we retired. I cook breakfast on it and I like that when we cook in the oven, we dont feel the heat at all. When we baked in our old oven, it would heat the whole kitchen up. Our Viking range works beautifully and the lady who sold it to us was good. We also got a free dishwasher with the range and a bunch of other Viking stuff. We got a Viking microwave as well because its exactly like the Sharp microwave. The only difference is they put Viking on it. We’re happy with it and it’s very good. I use that more than I use the stove.

The quality is good. The only thing I dont like about the range is the burner is chipping already. Other than that, its a great range. I highly recommend it.

The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesnt work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and hes going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then hell call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks. The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. Im still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. Im a little more mellow than some people and Im not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, Im having Thanksgiving at my daughters house so I dont need the stove done before that day. Now, if I had family coming in, Id probably be sweating about now and ordering turkeys in from someplace. Im good and I can wait for the perfect oven.

Im in the cabinet business, specifically for kitchen and bath cabinets. I have a showroom at a local appliance store and we did a working Viking kitchen. I convinced some of the contractors that I deal with and theyre using Viking appliances. Viking has quality-built products so the name speaks for itself. I live alone and I got a 36-inch Viking range. It was great making the purchase. I worked with not only the local dealer but also the Viking representative. Im still getting used to my range. I dont use it too much, but Ive tried all of its features and Im very happy with it. Its everything that I expected it to be. I tell my contractors that the quality, the price, and the name of the Viking products will help sell the properties that theyre building.

Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair estimates from the service company, which we shared. Viking replied that due to the age of the appliances (5 years) they are not able to help. Viking was once a great American brand that created superior appliances. For the premium price, buyers could feel confident in the the quality of their purchase and the companys customer service. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Viking is aware of the flaws with some of their products, especially the refrigerators (as is evidenced by the sheer number of complaints on this site alone about the same issue), yet they refuse to stand behind their products. Despite my hopes that I would be able to report that Viking did the right thing and repaired what is clearly a design flaw affecting many, unfortunately I cannot. It would be extremely easy for them to resolve this issue, but they choose not to. Instead, Viking prefers to erode customer trust in their products, service and their brand. I am sad to report that the Viking of today is no longer the company it once was. My only advice to anyone considering a Viking appliance or a full Viking kitchen is: buyer beware. Read the reviews on this site and others carefully.

Our experience with the Viking dealer was touch-and-go. There was a promotion and the package deal for the appliances was better than their competitors. We committed to buying the appliances and knowing that we were doing a big kitchen remodel, we gave the best timeframe we could, but we missed the timeframe. There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. All the major stuff works and it cooks, but weve had to have a couple of minor repairs done to it within the first month.
