I always wanted Viking appliances. I love to cook, so it is a brand that was instilled in me that is quality and a professional kitchen. Initially, I should have looked. I went to Best Buy to look at them, but I ordered these online, and I never really tested them out. I like certain things that I bought, but there were certain things I don’t like. I like the refrigerator because it’s large. But I’ve seen others that the inside interiors are better made, more stylish, and the placement of the shelves are a lot more intuitive than the Viking. The doors and the bins are fine. It’s just the placement of them is not as functional as we thought it would be. We like the soft-close doors but we didn’t expect it to be so small inside being a 48-inch. We thought it’d be a lot larger because we had other appliances like LG or Samsung, and those were standard-sized, and they seemed to have more space. I like the Viking because of the aesthetics. It’s a beautiful refrigerator. But in terms of functionality, it’s just plain-Jane. It’s a $10,000 fridge so I was expecting more. It’s a 48-inch refrigerator, and its freezer is tiny, unfortunately.

My family moved into a new home with nice-looking Viking appliances in the kitchen. We only experienced minor malfunction of the refrigerator in the 1st year. After 14 months, or about 7 weeks ago, the range knob that controls the range fan motor stopped working, and I contacted Viking warranty service a week later. A local authorized repair shop was quickly assigned the job and they determined they have to replace the knob, and they need to order it through Viking for that, in order to comply with Viking warranty policy. And I was told to wait about 3-4 days.A week later, I called the repair shop only to find out the knob is on back order, and I need to wait 2 more weeks. And 2 weeks later, it was still not invoiced through Viking parts, and now 6 weeks later, the range is still not repaired!!! And the shop has no idea/no control over when the part will come in. They also told me in one case, a customer had to wait a year and 2 months for some parts to come in! It had been very frustrating not having a working range in the kitchen! It is even more so to think Viking warranty service is so lousy and unreliable! I am so disappointed how long I have to wait (so far) for warranty service for a common appliance! If I have to pick new appliances, I will not pick Viking.

I had a Wolf and a Sub-Zero. We moved from out of state and they have a Viking stove in the house. Ive heard some good things about the Viking. Since I have a Viking stove, I got the refrigerator as well. However, Im very disappointed with the refrigerator because it was only three months old and one of the blades of one of the fans inside was already broken and another fan wasnt hooked up in the bottom. I had water dripping from the door on my fourth floor. For a brand new refrigerator and for what we paid for, that was not acceptable. My husband made the appointment to have it fixed and his interaction with Vikings customer service rep was very nice. A tech came out and it didnt take him long to fix the refrigerator.

Viking stove experience EVGIC365-6B SS - We have bought this stove back in 2006 in Europe. It is by far the best cooking device available on the market today. Only one extremely negative downside: We have had to replace the spark modules almost every year on average. This was the 10th time. It seems to be a design fault. You may expect that they last longer. The spark models are located fairly close to the rear burners of the stove and are only lightly protected by an thin sheet of aluminum cover. The way the blue plastic spark modules look after being replaced, it seems that the on-board electronics are cooked to the extreme as well. Whats your opinion on that re Viking guys?

Ive known all my life that Viking is a good brand. They had a pretty convenient package at Pacific Sales and their people are very professional. We are renovating and so there was a refrigerator, washing machine, microwave and two other items that all had matching faces, so we decided to go with that. The pull out ice tray of the refrigerator is pretty cute. There are little hiccups with the fridge but its quality is good.

We just got a Viking range installed. We liked the industrial look that Viking Ranges provides and then we found a decent deal through an appliance company so we made the purchase. The range is limited in terms of features. Its an on/off gas range and there wasnt even a timer on it. But, in a way, its also what we like because theres not a lot of technologies built into it.

I built a new home about a year ago. I decided to stick my kitchen with what I thought was high quality appliances. I spent over $25000 on a Viking professional kitchen. Been having issues from day one. First, my 48 fridge freezes anything on the top self. After multiple service calls the tech admitted this was an unrepairable design defect. Today my fridge stopped cooling, nice for a $12k appliance. Also, the fridge door squeaks and is out of alignment just from ordinary use. Second, my oven broke the first time I used it. Took about a month to get it fixed, the first time. Couple of months later it broke again, took weeks to fix this time, same defect. Also, the oven has an annoying function that keeps a loud fan running in it to cool it down after each use, takes about 30 minutes each time. So imagine sitting in your open kitchen, serving a freshly baked dinner, then having to listen to something so loud that you feel you have to speak over it. Poor mechanical design and poor quality, wish I could return them.

We built our home 18 years ago and ordered all new appliances. Didnt notice the latch was not working until a couple years later because I thought it was just me - learning to bake with a gas oven as opposed to my old electric. I was complaining to my brother-in-law who is Mr. Fix-it and he noticed it wasnt closing properly. The latch was bent. With all his tools and strength he was unable to bend it at ALL! This did not happen by me closing the door, this was a manufacturer defect. Viking has refused to replace the door so I am stuck having to alter all my baking. I will NEVER recommend Viking again! Terrible customer service.

The Viking range is a known quality item. Ive never purchased an appliance thats expensive as all this stuff is. Like if youre accustomed to buying an economy car, then you walk into the Rolls Royce dealership. Viking did a pretty amazing job explaining everything and it was a whole another level of service that Ive never experienced in appliances before. They also sent over a wonderful service person who diagnosed everything and did a great job. We have had the range for about two months and it seemed kinda cool. It doesnt have a lot of unnecessary garbage on it. It just has what you need and it does what its supposed to do very quickly. It heats up quickly and makes the soup very quickly. My girlfriend loves it and shes the one who cooks. My girlfriend would recommend Viking Ranges. She was very impressed by the way you can take it apart and clean it, the different stages of the stove, and the pull-out drawer.

I bought a refrigerator and a freezer from Viking Refrigerators because of their reputation. My favorite feature is the built-in lock. However, Im not satisfied with them because of the issues that were having and theyre coming tomorrow to fix them. The drain at the bottom of the refrigerator doesn’t drain correctly so it fills up with water inside below the meat compartment and sometimes it runs onto the floor. On the freezer, were having an issue with the icemaker. The service was the only contact I had with them. Our conversation went fine but the only problem was that Im in a rural area. I had to wait six weeks for them to come over to where this was located to do service. That part has been a bit of a hassle. It was frustrating just because of the service issue.

We bought a Jenn-Air package. And our Jenn-Air range was leaking gas for several years, and they couldn’t seem to figure out how to stop it from leaking gas. So, I had them take it back and give me a credit. And the store manager recommended Viking as a replacement, and so I went with his recommendation. And that’s how I ended up with Viking. I love my Viking range. However, I feel like the oven takes too long to warm up. It’s a lot slower than the Jenn-Air one was. The Jenn-Air had some neat features that the Viking doesn’t have like it had a timer associated with it. It had a couple of different technological bonuses. But as far as the way it cooks and the way it looks, Viking’s great.

I have purchased 2 Viking wall ovens within the past 12 years, one at a discounted rate because my first purchase with them only lasted five years with many, many repairs in between. First of all their hinges on the door break very easily, the door to the oven is very heavy and can withstand constant use. Once the hinges break, the oven door cannot seal properly and therefore the oven will not run. The broiler coils burn out very fast. The oven cooks well over temperature, so you can trust the exact temperatures. The lettering on the wall peels off very quickly. I did not use any chemicals on it and I always used a soft rag with water to try and clean it. The stove top I purchased as well and that is also in bad shape. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!

I have the old Viking Professional series range and I really like that the oven is hot and the burner is very strong. I also use the broiler a lot for cooking. The power of the stove is very important to me. I changed the old one because the fire doesnt start anymore. I chose a different series since I wanted to have a five-burner, however, it is not as good as the old one. I cant believe Viking used rubber for some of the parts and it melted and fell off, even though its only been two months. I called the dealer and they ordered the parts for me. Hopefully, it will go back in. Right now, the grate wobbles since theres no rubber underneath to prevent it from scratching. The materials used for making the grate is cast-iron material which is very hard to clean. Anything that touches it leaves marks. Also, after cooking, theres a fan to cool off, but it goes on for a very long time. Next is that the oven takes much longer to cook. If Im making a chicken for one hour, I have to add 10 more minutes and it doesnt reach the temperature that it promised. Another is the knobs. Theyre metal so they turn very hot and burn me. Also, the print for the temperature and the off and on came off from the rubber. I have had the old range for 10 years, but I have never seen such bad quality printing. It doesnt look like it has been properly done. Hopefully, these knobs will last better. There are a lot of flaws with this series and since its a stove, I cant return it. But if people are looking for temperature similar to a strong fire on a stove, then this Viking range is good.

My husband wanted a Viking Refrigerator so we bought and paid for it. Best Buy brought and installed it. But they left me with a noise as if I was standing on a runway and an airplane is operating on it. We could not turn on the TV and hear it. We had to shut off all the doors, and even then, we heard it. It was horrible. I called the dealer three times to come. They came, claimed that they fixed it, but they fixed it for two seconds and left. On the third time, I lost them completely and they wouldn’t come back to fix it so I called Best Buy and spoke to everybody there. They transferred me to the Viking office. Some lady said they can send me a repairman, but not till next week. I told her that they have to send somebody right away, but they did not. The day went by and I couldn’t get anybody because it was already evening. I called them the next morning and they finally had somebody from Viking called me. He found a third party and they came. But they left me with a wire hanging into the fan. It was when they transferred it, and that made the noise. At this point, I had a lemon because the fan was damaged. At Best Buy, even the person who sold it told me that his hands were tied and can’t do anything. The manager who came back from vacation was supposed to call me to tell me that they were exchanging the refrigerator, never called me. I had to do everything myself and went back to the store. They said I can choose something else. I chose the JennAir and I wanted to upgrade already. They said that they would come towards me, but I have to pay close to $500 more. I thought about it and calculated it. I also spoke to my son-in-law who just investigated which refrigerator was the best. He said that as long as I have to pay the difference, I might as well pay a little more and get the Sub-Zero. At the headquarters, Lionel was the only guy who was very nice. I talked to him and he called me back the next morning. He asked me what was my decision and I told him to pick the Viking ref up and take it out of here. They left me with a hole for two days and some of my food got spoiled. I got my Sub-Zero on the third day, and we are so happy we made the change. The experience with Viking was a nightmare. We were very unhappy and so aggravated. I also think that Best Buy was at fault here, and their installers. I will never buy one more item from them. But I have a Viking stove and Ive had it for more than 28 years. Ive been very happy with it.

Aside from the Viking name, the ranges value would add to our property in the kitchen. So far, I’ve been very satisfied with their product. It’s basic, not over the top and gimmicky like some of the other ovens have. It’s a good looking piece of equipment that works really well so far. I called the customer support when I had issues with it. They’re professional. They gave me a number for their local dealer out here and I called them up. Viking themselves have done a really good job and then the contractor is satisfactory as far as my dealings with them. I got two burners that don’t work and I’m still waiting for them to come back. Someone already came out to see what the issues were, ordered some parts and they’re coming next week. These two burners haven’t been working for about two months now. But it’s sure it’s going to get fixed this week. So far I’ve been happy with everything that works on it because other than the two burners it works great. The even heating in the oven is the one I’m most happy with. The quality is exactly what I expected.

My Viking double oven is a piece of junk. It never properly worked. Ive tried several times to get the ovens fixed and even the repairmen say that Viking is having serious manufacturing problems all related to maintaining heat. My cakes come out in a wavy shape because the heat isnt evenly distributed throughout the oven. The oven is so bad now that it cant stay heated; Thanksgiving turkey wouldnt cook because the oven couldnt sustain an even temperature after an hour or so. I tried turning on the convection and the fan wouldnt run. Just put in a pork loin roast, and the oven couldnt maintain its temperature. Another piece of meat destroyed by Viking. I’ve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. It’s got a simple design and I still find it reliable.

Viking sent a repair person. They replaced the motor. And now, it has another sound that’s bugging me, so I rescheduled another appointment. I realized I had felt it but I was always in a hurry. The handles are giving shocks off. I had an electrician go in yesterday. And for some reason, he passed by the refrigerator with his gadget to detect electricity, and there’s electricity running through the handles where we open it. And he said, “Whoa, call them immediately tomorrow. Get them over here. This could be dangerous.”I was talking to Viking regarding this and I paid $4,000 for this refrigerator. They were sending me repair people. And Pacific Sales told me they only had a 14-day exchange, and Viking will only do repairs. Now, with this issue, I want a replacement. We purchased an expensive free standing gas range, model VGCC530-4BSS, because we were tired of having to fix our old electric range. From day one the front knobs got hot when the oven was on for a long period of time. We never really thought too much of it until just recently when the oven would quit working after being on for a while, for example, when cooking a turkey etc. Through my own investigation, along with limited help from Viking I figured out that the oven door doesnt seal at the top. There isnt an adjustment to rectify this problem. Viking suggested new hinges, at the bargain price of $120 each, which I fail to see making any difference as this has been an issue from day one. Not to mention I removed the door, inspected the hinges and could not find anything wrong with them. I strongly feel that the only solution to this problem is to buy a new stove, one that doesnt have the Viking label on the front. This will be our first and last Viking product EVER!

The first unit was repaired a number of times. Viking then replaced it with a new refrigerator. Same problems. We insisted that Viking refund money to the dealer and we now have a Sub Zero. Being empty nesters, and retired we rarely use your oven, except for when company comes. So even though it was past the warranty, plus we had a problem at the beginning with the settings of the range, we believe this range is a lemon. They say because we didnt have complaints earlier, its not. Customer service was horrible! Our oven stopped working during roasting our prime ribs, we had to ask neighbors to finish the prime rib and barbecue the other one; the hot dishes that were going to go into the oven after the prime rib was done had to go to other neighbors house. We would call customer service and ask them to return our call, but they never did. So we had to call over and over again. That meal was at Thanksgiving time and we still dont have it repaired yet, and they called saying the part hasnt come in so theyre canceling tomorrows appointment! Right during the holiday season when we like to do a lot of Christmas baking! So its ruining our Thanksgiving and Christmas! Thanks a lot Viking! Learn from us, and our experience: never buy a Viking!

Viking Range have had the reputation for quite a few years and we had looked at various ranges and Viking Range fall under the affordable price range. I expected the best quality from it when I bought it and its good because it didnt have a lot of electronics and would last me a lifetime, but our first range experience did not go so well. I was very disappointed its oven died after about a year and a half. I was glad I had an extended warranty on it because otherwise, it wouldnt have been covered at all and I wouldve been out the entire amount. But after nine service calls, it could not be repaired. Viking then replaced it with a new model because the model of our first range wasnt available anymore. Since then, the stove we have now has been working fine. Weve had it for about a year and a half now. The variety of the temperature using grade on it is the best about it. I can get down to a nice low simmer.

We purchased a Viking 36 electric oven/gas cooktop at great expense 28 months ago. Since that time, we have two major problems with the failure of the main circuit board. Replacement costs approx. $450-$500 each time. We have been very disappointed with the product and also disappointed with the customer care of the company. I would not recommend the purchase of any Viking product and Im certainly going to tell anyone else considering buying a so-called premium product. Im quite surprised that the company is still in business.

We have a refrigerator which is only a few years old but my wife wanted the ones with industrial-looking handles so we bought a Viking Refrigerator. Also, a friend said that they would be better than Thermadors and Viking has a good reputation. But it had issues with the cooling that was running almost 24/7. It kept running and running and never shuts off except for five minutes and it will run for another six or seven hours. Then, opening the freezer door, it looked like a mist was coming in from the cooling bins where the cool air comes in. According to the sales guy, this indicates too much humidity but he didn’t really know where this was coming from.We contacted the retailer and a guy came by and said there might be an issue. He suggested waiting until it’s in its final place because its still in the living room. Then, hed come by to level out the refrigerator and freezer appropriately and hopefully, the issue would be addressed. If not, they will have to provide some parts. It was a little disheartening considering it’s a brand new unit we paid a lot of money for. Therefore, we will know more in two weeks once it’s in its final place in the kitchen.

We purchased the high end Viking Double French Door Oven model VDOF730SS approximately 16 months ago. Right away we noticed that the lower oven door did not close properly. Just walking past it could jar it a bit and cause the light to come on. Viking had a repairman come out and replace the hinges (this was a brand new oven mind you), but it did not alleviate the issue. We put off requesting another repair but the warranty is only for 2 years, so we recently requested another repair. The repairman called this morning and said Viking had informed them that our warranty had expired. Our registration plainly states 2 years, and weve only had it for 16 months. We paid $$$ for that oven because of Vikings reputation for high quality. We are very, very disappointed.

Viking Ranges is the absolute worst. I started May 15th trying to get two sets of two products and they were finally installed yesterday. So, it was three months to get these products. And I couldnt use my oven because the door wouldnt close. And twice, the wrong parts were sent. They even said they would definitely get the correct parts to me via mail but I never got them, so then I went to customer service. Awful. I got the right parts only on the third time because I called the customer service woman who was terrific and helped me as much as she could. Ive also called an appliance dealership that I work with in Pennsylvania and talked to the repair people here in New York who sell Viking and they have both said theyre not recommending anybody to buy Viking anymore because their repairs are so awful.

I liked Vikings reputation for quality, specifically the range. I live in an all-electric home and adding gas would’ve been pricey. I got a high-quality range still within the parameters of my house but purchasing with the Viking dealer was the one bit of a dark spot. Appliances Connection wasnt very good at communicating the timeline for the reception and the arrangement for shipping was not great either. The communication on that was poor. When they finally scheduled the delivery, they told me when it was going to occur and I waited two hours after the fact. I was waiting at our work site since I don’t live where I was renovating. I finally called them to see what was going on. They said that the shipment was delayed and that they weren’t going to deliver it that night. It was 10 p.m. after they told me I had to wait, so that was frustrating. Nonetheless, the range looks incredible and I’m very anxious to test it out in cooking. Also, we liked the color options. It was silly, but it was really nice. We picked the graphite gray and it’s perfect. Although the dealer and the delivery were a little frustrating, everyone was professional when they delivered and they did a really nice job of getting it into the house quickly and safely. They had the tools to do it well.

The house that we purchased already had a Viking Range and so, we wanted to continue using Viking. So far, were not impressed with the refrigerator. Weve used Samsung more than anything else before and weve never had so many issues come up as we have with this $15,000 fridge. For one, Viking doesnt have a great after purchase service. When they delivered the fridge, there was something wrong with it. The whole process took about two months for them to come and exchange the fridge. And then this year, weve had issues with the freezer, where a portion of it doesnt seem to be working. Weve been back and forth with them trying to find some service provider in the vicinity. Only after two months and a lot of follow up did they finally have someone coming in to check and see whats going on. As to how long it would take them to actually fix it, Im not even sure. The thing is, they have a third party that deals with these things, so its not really the Viking dealer. Its just a number on the brochure. You call them and they send you off to some independent company that they have in your area, and theyre the ones that are supposed to come and take care of it. As a result, it keeps ping-ponging back and forth. Besides that, the fridge looks sleek and its nice to look at. Its wide and its spacious. I definitely dont have issues with storing anything. I like that the shelves are wide and tall. So in terms of space and cooling issues in the refrigerator, we havent had an issue. Although, our ice cubes have been melting since summer. But still, when things get out of hand, theyre gonna have a third party, not necessarily a Viking technician coming and dealing with your issues and theres a lot of bureaucracy and telephone calls involved in the middle that waste our time as a consumer. And when you spend so much money on a refrigerator, you sort of dont expect this. You want things to go smoothly. And it all goes back to how great that service provider is, which from my initial experience, theyre not great. We even had an issue finding the refrigerator in the beginning. We had to go to another city and order it. So, if I were to recommend Viking to somebody else, I would say make sure that if its not that easy to procure the item from the beginning, maybe it wont be that easy to get service after the purchase.

My son had everything Viking in his house and my wife wanted a Viking range for a long time but we couldn’t afford it until we retired. I cook breakfast on it and I like that when we cook in the oven, we dont feel the heat at all. When we baked in our old oven, it would heat the whole kitchen up. Our Viking range works beautifully and the lady who sold it to us was good. We also got a free dishwasher with the range and a bunch of other Viking stuff. We got a Viking microwave as well because its exactly like the Sharp microwave. The only difference is they put Viking on it. We’re happy with it and it’s very good. I use that more than I use the stove.

Ive known Viking Refrigerators for so long. I like the look and the style of the refrigerators. They also have a better quality than the rest of their competitors. The refrigerator that I have bought is average and Ive spent $9,000 on it. However, I’ve already had a service call out here because the thing wasn’t working properly. Based on the fact that they had charged much more, their product and service should have been stellar. Even so, somebody quickly got out here and that guy was great. I also Iike the construction of the solid door. And also, I like the fact that the inside thing is made of metal. Purchasing from Viking was a good experience up until the point where they were to deliver the item, but then it all went to crap. When they delivered the item, they gave me a delivery date, but they didn’t meet that. And then they gave me another delivery date and didn’t meet that as well. So it was just a big fiasco. It took three days to finally have the item installed. Since that was a Monday, they didn’t even have it installed and so I installed it myself. Also initially, Viking was responsive. I had bought three different products. I bought a Viking Refrigerator, the beverage center, and the ice machine. And two of them were delivered on one day. The beverage center was deemed late by Viking. They said they didn’t have it yet. So, once again, the second time they came in, they’re supposed to deliver it but they didn’t show up. They called me and told me that it wasn’t gonna be delivered for another couple days. And then again, it was supposed to be delivered between 12:00 and 5:00, and they showed up at 9:00 at night. The second time they delivered, the service level just sucked. These dealers are representing Viking. I know its difficult because they’re not just selling Viking, they’re also selling other products. But at the end of the day, it puts a bad taste on my mouth that Viking works with these people. If Viking wants to say that they are a service-oriented company and believes in their customers, then they ought to pay attention to who’s actually selling this product and who’s delivering the product in the homes because it only takes one experience to turn somebody off. So I don’t know if I’d ever buy another Viking again. I would also tell others that if they ever want to go buy the product, that would be fine but I would also tell them to make sure they do their research.

I spent $9,900 for a top of the line refrigerator. Less than 3 years later, both refrigerator and freezer do not cool past 57 degrees. It took 5 days to get Viking to tell me they wont cover it. They sent me 5 repair companies - two dont cover my area. One has kept me on hold for 57 minutes. All my food is wasted. This is on top of the fact that two motors had to be replaced in year one; the door had to be repaired in 18 months and all three plastic drawers cracked almost immediately. Do NOT waste your money. I do like my range so far. It heats my food which the oven is supposed to do. It feels sturdy, reliable and doesnt have a lot of bells, buttons and whistles. It looks as though it will do what its supposed to do for the next 20 years. My expectation is that because it is expensive, Im going to have it for a long time. It is easy to clean. We just finished remodeling our kitchen and we were looking at refrigerators. We happened to come across Viking in an appliance store. We purchased our other appliances through a distributor in Portland, and the dealer didnt happen to carry that particular refrigerator. But when we asked if they could get it, they said yes, and thats how we did it.We wanted some simplification. We liked the handles that were on the refrigerator and the way it was constructed on the inside as it looked well-finished. We also like the fact that the doors were not so thick as the other refrigerators we were looking at. It was that or the KitchenAid. The first refrigerator that they installed did not work. It wouldnt cool. They brought a service person out to look at it, but he couldnt figure out what was going on, so they got us another one. That was okay with us, though, because we happened to be gone for vacation that week, and the person who was installing the refrigerator took care of it and it worked out. At this point, were very satisfied with our Viking refrigerator.

We had the range installed about three weeks ago and we love it. This is a Series 5 model and the one thing that we dont like about it is the fact that the knobs got that little blue marker at the top and we thought it would lit up when you turn it on to show that its on, but they dont. Its there just to show the off position. We do have the LED lights under the panel that come on, but youve gotta physically look at every knob to make sure that theyre in the off position to make sure its not on a really low simmer where you cant see the flames. They should put a light on each one of those knobs to show when you turn it on. Other than that, it’s performing well. We cook a lot on it.I looked at some of the other models that were less expensive. Some of them were half the price but then, I looked at the consumer reviews and the people that were giving it 4 or 5 stars were only about 60%. But the Viking Range was in the high 90s. Some of these other ranges look good, but according to a lot of the customers who had bought them, they didnt function properly. So that was the main driving force for going with a Viking.

We bought a $9,000 refrigerator from Viking two years ago and we experienced some problems with it during Labor Day weekend. The freezer would work but the refrigerator part wouldn’t get cold. It was frustrating because we called the repair service but they didn’t have any record of us. So, we had to fax them the bill of sale and they said it would take three or four days for us to get into their system which was unacceptable because we had no refrigerator.I called them on a Wednesday and they arranged for someone to come out. But they were tied up Thursday, Friday and the holiday, plus they didn’t work Saturday or Monday, so it was Tuesday when they came out. They looked around and found that there was a part that was supposed to be attached to a cooling conduit and it wasn’t. Apparently, they didn’t do it in the factory. So, their reps put a new part and left. Two days later, the refrigerator still wouldn’t get cold. I called the guy again and he came out a day later and found out that the fan in the refrigerator part wasn’t working. He replaced the fan but the refrigerator part still did not get cold. So, we had to call him the third time. This time, he discovered that the conduit in the freezer was freezing up. They ordered the parts and it was going to be four days more before it came in. We were out of a refrigerator for a month and it was inconvenient. Finally, he put heaters in the conduit which they probably should have done in the factory when they made the refrigerator. It’s working fine now but I’m a little concerned now to be having all these problems. Fortunately, it was under warranty. But if something happens in another year when the refrigerators out of warranty, its on me. Those parts that they were putting in were quite expensive. Viking should’ve anticipated some of these problems. When you manufacture a refrigerator that costs that much money, you expect it to be working fine. I have an old refrigerator in my pool house that’s 30 years but still working perfectly and I paid $150 for it several years ago.

I’ve had multiple problems with the range. It doesn’t go to temperature. It doesn’t cook food the way it should. It takes very long to heat up. The top of the stove is very difficult to clean. I would never buy it again. I had the rack inside my oven replaced. If youre going to pull it out, it has so much play and wiggle room. When you have food on it, it dips down because there is so much play. When I replaced it, they told me it would probably do it again and they were right. It did. So I am not truly a fan. It’s not worth the money you spent. Also, their customer service portion really needs to be a little bit better. But I do like how the top of the stove cooks. I like the output there. I found out about Viking 20 years ago and back then, I couldnt afford it, but Ive always heard the great reviews on the quality. I remodeled my kitchen in October and it was a good time to do it. After two months of purchase though, I ran into an inconvenience. Some time in December, we were trying to bake for the very first time and when we turned the knob on the oven, it broke from edge to edge, in the middle. It might have been some type of factory defect, but things happen. We had not even used the oven, but I called in, and it was under warranty.Viking has a third party customer service where I called their number, and they did it with just the serial number. They assigned a technician to come, but they mailed the part first to my home.Once I got the part, I called them back and let them know that the part has arrived. We then scheduled the technician to come by and replace it. Since then, the knob has been a little tight. I can still make it function, but it doesnt run smoothly like the rest of the knobs. Another thing is that, the very first burner on the right-hand side is the one with the most flame. Its supposed to be the most intense flame on the range and it makes a blowing noise when its on. This is the only burner that does that. Still, I love the quality.

I had to go by myself and we lost the money on that. And the guy was saying racist things. Also, the dishwasher came and it was completely destroyed. The door was all bent. We moved into the kitchen without the dishwasher. Then they brought a dishwasher and they installed it bad. They sent us the new people to install it and those people treated me really bad. It was a battle. If Viking has their product represented by Best Buy, it wasnt good and unfortunately, that’s reflected on Vikings product. I see Viking in other peoples homes, and I got them because I thought the quality was good and they were kind of upper-end. However, the quality is not what I thought it was. We have the whole suite -- we have the refrigerator, a 36-inch freezer, a 48-inch stove, two dishwashers and a microwave. The fridge is fine and I like the size of it. However, I’m surprised at how poorly the others were built. We ended up having to get six dishwashers in total because four of them were bad. The other two, we finally said we were sick of being without a dishwasher, so we just accepted the poor quality. The stainless steel is thin, and it was dented on the front. The drawers on the side were broken, and we ended up having to pay shipping on it because Viking wouldn’t warranty it.

When we came in, the refrigerator was brand-new, but the ice maker wasnt making any ice. We thought it was still under warranty, then it wasnt because the warranty started when the builder finished the property, and we purchased it eight months later, then we came in several months after that, so it had been over a year. But then, Viking went ahead and sent someone out and fixed it. They said to make sure that its on vacation mode and the levers up for the ice so we did that. We were there during the summer and we came back for Thanksgiving and it was not working again. It was apparently something a little bit more major. But I love its double doors and where the freezer is at the bottom, and then it has the little buttons on the side with all the temperatures control. We also had a bit of an issue with the dishwasher too. But that was fixed. Were just waiting on a part. Overall, were very satisfied with Viking.

Nothing but disappointment. Self cleaning safety device broke immediately after we purchased it. Both hinges broke on the door almost burning my daughter as it fell to the floor burning hot. Repairs cost a fortune and side note... decals that show functions wore away after a year. If you love cooking like my family and want a quality stove steer away from Viking. Do some research before you spend $5,000.

The Viking Range is really good and I like their burner power feature. However, we ended up getting one that we didnt even buy which is the appliance dealers fault. We bought the six-burner series with the griddle in the middle but ended up with an eight-burner that they installed. We were not here during the install, which is fine. I’m not upset about that. But trying to get the griddle and our money back has been a chore and we have been at it for two months and cant understand why it hasnt been done. The guy who owns the place is extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot when we went to see him and he did a wonderful job on the install but the follow-up items after the fact have just been a nightmare for us. But as far as the range goes, my wife absolutely loves it.

We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest.
We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest. We liked Vikings reputation and some of our friends have Viking appliances as well. My whole experience started off with one dealer. When I went in there, I gave them a deposit but I ended up canceling that because the woman that I was dealing with didn’t know the product line at all. So, I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So, knowing what I wanted, I then reached out to a dealer on Long Island and everything at that point was done across the phone. And the girl that I dealt with did an excellent job for us. So we purchased the 48-in range, the dishwasher and below the counter microwave. And I was really happy with that as far as the coordination and delivery of the equipment. I’ve also spoken to Viking directly done in Mississippi a couple of times and they were helpful. I had a couple of questions and in the middle of everything, there was a model change going on. called them and said all right, tell me the differences between what I had ordered and what I’m going to receive and they did a good job of explaining the difference there. When I had the issue with the dented panel on the dishwasher, they turned it over to a third-party and I was hoping that they could address the issue sooner than later, but it was a smaller organization. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get them out to the house but when they came, they were spot on and did an excellent job. So, while I had to wait longer than I would have liked, I was happy with what they did.It was interesting because one of my friends has not had a good experience with Viking around the range and parts. But I didn’t allow that to bother me because I don’t know how much of it was them or how much of it was Viking. There are always two sides to every story. So, even hearing the horror stories that they had to tell, I am pleased with what we did and I’d be happy to recommend Viking to anyone so far.

Purchased Viking 48 wide by side in 2002. Compressor went out within 6 months, thankfully was under warranty. There was a door recall a few years later AND then another recall for those doors! The company that replaced the doors are familiar with Viking fridges and were able to to be somewhat helpful, suggesting we not place anything within 8 inches of any of the interior vents. We have NEVER been able to get the temp right. We have never been able to keep our fruits and veggies in the produce drawers as they become frozen. If we turn the temp down the milk goes bad, etc. Several of interior the plastic parts have broken under normal use: handle portion of ice maker drawer broke off in my hand, lid of bottom meat/produce drawer snapped off. Now the fridge lights have gone out (all simultaneously.) Try going to the Viking site to find a manual or worse yet parts. Everything there is SO difficult! They sent us a manual and I was able to download two, but none of them show the same control panel as what we have, since when there was a door recall, we received a new control panel as well... I feel sorry for the people that work for Viking. I will never purchase another Viking product. We purchased a high end Thermador range and KitchenAid Micro-Convection oven the same year and have had no problems with those appliances!

I wanted a good quality commercial-grade range that I could count on. I’ve been familiar with Viking for quite some time. The dealer we had was very professional. I had been to another dealer that was less than desirable to the point that I was almost insulted that they never even acknowledged that my wife and I were there. I researched and found the Athens Refrigeration. When we walked in the store, it was completely different. They were very patient and informative. They spent all the time that we needed and they would have spent more had I needed it.We bought an electric French door Viking oven and a range with the gas. We converted to gas when we made the change. We’re liking the gas more than the electric. We haven’t had our range long but so far I’m pleased with it. I also plan to visit the Viking store. I’ve been there before in Greenwood and the cooking school.

I like to cook and nothing is better than a Viking range. It looks great, professional and it heats up super fast. I also love that there is no electronics on it and the convection oven is awesome. On the other hand, the delivery was a bit of a snafu. I was supposed to get set up for install and delivery. They came and they said they were only there for delivery. When I said no, the guy told me the price of the install and hauled away. I was not in town, so it didnt get installed and I had to reschedule. I also got the dishwasher with the range and the face on the top of the dishwasher got scratched. I called and called, and left a message to have the dealer fix it. The little flap where the detergent is put to soak off also needs to get fixed. Other than that, it all worked out because I got the awesome range which is quality.

Our Viking Microwave that we purchased 2008 has blown a hole in the bottom
Our Viking Microwave that we purchased 2008 has blown a hole in the bottom of the microwave. I contacted three representatives from Viking, including the West Coast Office president, Bob Woods, who could not help us. We took numerous pictures and e-mailed them to him. He then talked with their engineers who had no idea what happened. This is supposed to be a top of the line product. I am extremely frustrated that I have been given the runaround with no answers. Our appliance repairman (Executive Appliance) said he has never seen anything like this, as the bottom of the microwave is metal. My husband and I live alone and are in our late 50s and do not put anything exotic in the microwave, so this is not an issue. PLEASE HELP!

Viking built in double door refrigerator is two years old and is terrible, I have had four service calls to fix it. The first time it simply shut down and stopped working, the service tech replaced the inverter and then it has started leaking water all over the floor. I have now called four times to have it fixed. The local, West Coast Regional Office is a joke. They dont even answer the phone. When they do answer I get the run-around until I insist they send someone to fix it, which then takes two or three days. And then, three weeks later the same thing happens. The unit has a three year warranty and Viking is refusing to honor it. They are just the worst example of customer service I can imagine. My advice is to avoid the purchase of any of their products.

I have a Viking kitchen. I've had a Viking refrigerator in my house for about 20 years. It lasted 18 years before I needed some work. And then, that lasted for another couple of years. I was good with it. It went bad, so I needed a new one. However, I'm rather disappointed that the warranty service happened. The issue was the fridge wouldn't hold temperature. It took about a month and a half. But the tech did a really good job. It has only been a month or two since the repair, but so far, so good. He added refrigerant. He couldn't find the leak. So if the leak is somewhere hidden, it would recur. I like the fridge when it works.

In the company that I worked for, we use Viking Ranges a lot in the house remodels that we built. They are the ones that a lot of people favor. The installation process was simple. Also, I like the quality and everything. The only issue that we had was, when it arrived, the knobs were in the wrong spots. But they got fixed quickly. It happened right around Thanksgiving, too, when we installed the oven. We thought something was wrong with the oven. The homeowners spent Thanksgiving at their other house versus this one, because of the oven. They weren’t sure if the oven would work. I called Viking Marin. They specifically deal with Viking Ranges and appliances. I guess theyre a licensed Viking repair place, but they werent covered under the Viking warranty package. We bought a complete Viking package including fridge, microwave, dishwasher and, the bane of my existence, a 30 gas range. The range would get to 400 degrees OUTSIDE the over making a burning hazard for anyone who touched the medal on the top of the range. This bad design caused the electronic ignition to fry. We had repair service done on it 3 times at a cost of roughly 2500.00. The ignition is out again and the quote we have had to repair it is $2000.00. That came with a 3 month guarantee. Since the other times we needed repairs there was only once that it was within the 3 month (we still had to pay for the service call to install the part) we decided against having it repaired. We will be buying a Whirlpool to replace it. I made numerous calls to Viking direct and was never able to get anything resolved.

I bought stove of my dreams in 1997 after waiting decades to be able to afford it. It is a Viking 6 burner/with griddle (which I wish I hadnt gotten), double gas ovens. Since day one the ovens smell like gas while on. I have to run my ventilator while the oven is on to keep the odor under control. I have had several repair men, always changing the igniters. The part is $16.00 on Amazon by the way. I pay a lot more than that! Anyway it has never fixed the problem. It makes me think twice about using the oven as I have to listen to the noise of the vent for hours if I choose to bake or roast anything. I am truly disappointed with this range and after reading all of the other reviews realize that Im not alone. I would never recommend any Viking product. I wish I had never gotten with this stove. My first choice was Wolfe, and I was talked out of it and into Viking!

The quality is fine, its fairly modern and it has nice LED lights. P.C. Richard was the dealer and they were professional and very good about it. We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. And it takes about between three and four days to fill the bin of ice. We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.

I was looking at Thermador, Viking, and Wolf, and read reviews on all of these. But aesthetically, I liked Viking better in the price that I was looking for. I love it. I like the burners, the handles, the very large oven, as well as the top and bottom trays that move on the inside. I have the 36-inch, with a six-burner and the size is great. I went from cooking on electric to liquid propane, so its a little different. It took me a bit of time to get used to the timing for the oven, but now that I do, I like it because it cooks so much quicker on the stovetop. The oven is a little bit slower, but it seems to make the heat evenly dispersed, so it cooks much better salmon, chicken, and quiche. Any issue that I had, Viking resolved immediately. They were honest, efficient, very responsive to any calls, and had great customer service. They were really good to work with, and the installers did a great job. I couldnt be happier.

I love the amount of space of my Viking refrigerator. It’s really good for an office. However, it wasn’t getting to the appropriate temperature. So, the serviceman came in and replaced the fan and something else. Those parts were not under warranty anymore, so we were looking at four years with the refrigerator. The freezer was working fine, but the two parts that he replaced didn’t do the trick. He had to come back, and then it was something that he needed to fix. He came out a couple of times before we finally got everything back up and running. So, we were without a refrigerator through most of the holidays, which was kind of a pain. And it made it hard to get him in. The serviceman was great. The only issue we had at one point was finding out when the parts were coming in. We waited and waited and finally, I called the serviceman and they said that they were having a hard time getting the parts. So, I ended up calling one of Vikings customer service numbers to find out what the issue was, and the part was in the following week. But there was this waiting time where we didn’t know anything, and it was because the part was taking forever to come in. Viking needs to set interaction between whoever provides the parts to the technician, and then the technician’s communication with who’s waiting on the part and the repair.

I purchased my 36 dual fuel oven the summer of 2005 and had installed by mid-fall. It hasnt worked properly since the day I bought it. I threatened legal action after the first oven was installed as the the burners would not ignite and the oven would not maintain a consistent temperature. After several months of frustration and battles, they replaced the unit with a brand new one which has not worked properly since the day it was installed. For the second Christmas in a row, I have not had an oven. I have manually lit the burners for 2 years now after spending a small fortune on replacing ignition units. There has not been a six month period since the unit was installed without one or several repair calls. Viking has no interest in standing behind their products. I know several people personally that have purchased Viking products and got to the point of legal action because of their appliances not working. One in particular installed a wall oven only to have the glass melt off and fall onto her brand new kitchen floor the first time she used (thank God someone wasnt standing in front of it).

Installed Viking appliances in our brand new home and it didnt take long for problems to start. The dishwasher model #VD8200SS started leaking and not drying after the first wash. I had the unit serviced twice to finally find out the entire soap dispenser piece needed to be replaced. The unit stopped leaking, but still wont dry. The serviceman was dumbfounded. The unit began smelling and stopped working all together. The service discovered it needed a brand new drain pump. Drain pump installed and turns on, but it still smells and the washer still refuses to dry anything. Double oven model #VED01302TSS now makes humming noise while the unit is off. The serviceman went back out to the house and said it needs a transformer and advised me Viking ovens are pretty much a joke and suggested to not use the self-clean function. He said it only greases up the inside wires and gadgets, and is very expensive to replace after the warranty expires. Out of the 7 Viking appliances I currently have, the stove top and toaster are probably the only two which didnt see a lot of problems with. Dishwashers, stoves, fridge, beverage centers and microwaves - forget it. Viking is simply overpriced and a total joke. Viking, you can pretty much stick it. Ill never buy another Viking product and Ill pass along my experiences with Viking every chance I get. Dont buy this crap!

We bought our Viking 6-burner range used, with very low usage on it. It looked all pretty with the stainless parts, and worked well... for a year or two. After a while, Ive noticed the lack of stainless parts and fasteners where it matters. This thing is just a rust-bucket. We live in an area where steel is not particularly prone to corrosion - the lousy materials are to blame. Rusty, creaky door hinges (maybe that is why our door actually stays closed :-o). Rotting gas oven burner. The pan under the grates has rust-through. On and on. If I thought this was a long-term keeper, Id order a truckload of igniters for the oven, as they go out regularly. If I had to pay someone to work on this, it would be much cheaper to buy something else. Rubbish! Id rather have an old 55-gallon drum and scrap wood than another one of these.
