The parts for our Viking Range are well made. The knobs are sturdy and the grates lift up so you can clean underneath. It is very functional. We use it all the time and weve been very happy with it. However, the oven is a little on the powerful side and it doesnt function as labeled. We have to turn the temperature down and reduce the cook time with any recipe that we are following. But weve learned to work with it and sometimes, its helpful if were cooking something very hot.

We like our Viking range. We like the extra burners and the large surface on the top. The cleanup has been okay. The only thing is we smell some gas when its on Convection Bake. One of the burners had problems with the igniting, but I was able to adjust it and get it to work properly. The quality is good overall. As far as performance goes and the quality of manufacturer, those also seem good. Were happy with our range. It fits our space and I would recommend it to people in a similar situation. I just dont think its for everybody. Its very pricey.

Viking has been around a long time. We were looking for a range for our house, but at the time when we were remodeling our kitchen, I knew Viking was a good product, but they didn’t make the 32-inch range and we needed that size. We do a lot of cooking and Viking has a good reputation. Other folks that I know have them and really like them. The look and the reputation of the product made us choose them. I really like its quality, the way it feels and the burners. All the burners are the same size and they heat really fast. The grates on top come off, all 6 pieces of them, which makes it really easy to clean. We got the one with the ceramic top that seals, and we had installed about two months ago. Were really happy with the Viking range and I’m looking forward to getting a Viking dishwasher next.

I heard good things about Viking Ranges. Their price was reasonable, too, so I bought one. I live in San Luis Obispo County and I couldn’t get it delivered to my home. So I had to pick it up myself. I have it for less than a month now and so far, the quality is good. I had another stove that had every bells and whistles on it and everything was breaking on that. I like the fact that my Viking doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. I spent that kind of money on a stove and I didn’t want things to be breaking all the time.

My comments echo the thread. I bought a Viking dishwasher in 2009. Im on my third repair. It worked poorly when it was up and running. Many of the electronic controls failed (e.g. did not run on pots and pans setting, but did run on normal). Now it simply does not run. I went into the repair shop on 5/14. As of 6/17, still waiting on parts from Viking. Customer service talks a good game, but thats about it. Its talk has not resulted in action. I have made a demand for a replacement washer (good luck right?). Ill update the thread on the outcome. For anyone who is thinking about a Viking, this thread speaks for itself. BTW, reliability issues aside, the parts do not fit (i.e. the rack attachments fall out of their fittings and develop rust. The silverware basket bottoms wear out, thus, allowing silverware to fall through).

Ive always heard that Viking Refrigerators were top-of-the-line. I looked at brands like Samsung but they were kinda new in the market and we preferred going with someone who has been doing it for a while. We have never really gone top-of-the-top but we were doing a remodel. We went to Pacific Sales and it was very good. We started looking at top quality versus the standard ones that they offered and decided we could spend a little more money. The dishwasher was thrown in for free so, that made it a no-brainer. I called in to get everything registered and the gal who answered the phone was great. She helped me because we had to add some zeros to the model number. She was really good because she gave me a heads up when I was doing the refrigerator and hadn’t done the stove. Calling in to get the service was very good too.The layout of the refrigerator was really good as well as the warning system. We liked the shelves and the door. We can pull up the grids on the burners of the stove, take the burners out and there’s a little shelf that you can pull out. It’s great and makes it so much easier to clean the stove. Its also easier to cook and I don’t have to worry about the surface top getting dirty. Also, switching to gas from electric made a huge difference. We heard the oven was good quality, but unfortunately, we used it once and the igniter was not working. So, were waiting for the part and we want to use it.

I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August
I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August 2014 as display model. I was told by the salesman that it had a full warranty. We also discussed with a Viking rep who was there setting up other models and he indicated the benefits of the range. In January the left burners quit working and there was a flash code for the burners. I called Viking to inquire about the warranty and found the unit was registered to another person who bought it 1 year earlier. I did not know it was pre-owned and would not have purchased it if it was. From the Viking customer service rep I learned it had a history of two repair calls including a replaced control board ($800.00 part cost). The code on the induction top indicated that it may be a generator board (there is one for each side) with a part cost of about $1200.00. They also indicated it was out of warranty. I have talked to the store, Viking techs, independent service tech and there has been no resolution to my issue. The code has changed since the initial event. Since there seems to be a need for a second module, is this a problem with this model or is this one a lemon. Viking did have a 5 year limited warranty on the induction top and modules in the past this but no longer true. I would like a resolution to this issue.

We bought a newly constructed house and Viking Ranges were already in the house. Weve been using it since the beginning of March and had some issues with it but overall, the quality has been good. One of the eyes on the burner has a hard time catching. I would try to get it to light and it would click but it won’t light. We’ll have to do that a bunch of times and if it doesn’t work sometimes, we’ll have to use one of the other eyes. Other than that, we like the design, the aesthetics and the feel of the range. I was doing research and my sister had a Viking range, and then I started looking into Viking appliances. I liked them, plus they were made in the USA, and thats how I ended up buying a Viking refrigerator. Its a good purchase. I bought it from my dealers here in the Portland area. Its been excellent with the reps. The salesperson was very knowledgeable. He offered me different kinds and I said, Listen, just tell me about Viking right now, and he said, Okay. The ref I got has two features that I like. First, the temperature is very constant, and is exactly what the ref says. Second, theres a little ozonator inside the ref for keeping the food fresh and not smelling. However, I am going to call Viking because we have a little issue with the refrigerator. When I open the door, the drawers on both sides where you put your veggies in wont stay and would slide out if I dont put something underneath, like a piece of towel. This appliance is not leveled well. Other than that, its perfect. Hopefully, somebody can fix my refs drawers so they will not slide when I open the main door, because thats very annoying.

We like the refrigerator that we got from them. Its size and all its shelves are my favorite parts of the refrigerator. It has the filter and it can make ice cubes. The only thing not in our refrigerator is the water dispenser, you cant get a glass of water from it. But the stove is what we fell in love with first. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. The house that my wife and I bought in 2016 has Viking appliances in the kitchen. The refrigerator was a 2012 model that was installed and purchased in 2013, so we were a little disappointed that it released all the Freon and was unrepairable by 2021. Were disappointed that though the Viking Refrigerator that we had to get fit in the space for the one that we had without having to redo cabinets, it no longer has a water dispenser in the door. That was a big letdown. We also had to replace the door seal on a dishwasher and Viking had stopped making replacement parts for it. We ended up replacing the entire dishwasher. The repair service is a real pain in Connecticut because theres only one authorized company. To get them out to actually look at our refrigerator, even on an emergency basis, was a matter of weeks.

I liked Vikings name and reputation. The quality of the range that I got is excellent. I really like the six burners on the top and the control that I have when Im cooking. However, cleaning the range is like an event. I dont like doing it very often because its so much work. I have to take all the six burners off individually and have to clean them. Then, I have to take those little things underneath the burners that catch everything. You have to take all six of those off and clean them, then dry them after which you wipe down the stove. You then take everything out from the crumb catcher underneath.Ive had other ranges where the grates are one piece, you pick them, lean it up against your backsplash, wipe it down, put it down, and youre done. With this range, my husband and I always yell about whos gonna clean it. So, consequently, we just let it go. We would clean it maybe once a week cause I cant do that every single time I cook. I just wipe it down and wait until Sunday to clean it.

I have had my Viking built in side by side for one year -- I chose Viking thinking it was a quality product. It is NOT -- the items on the top shelf the refrigerator ice up, the items in the freezer frost up and at six months a new part had to be installed in the freezer compressor. It was defective and froze the whole compressed up -- we had to move everything to a cheap Kenmore freezer which has worked for years to keep until the part came in and the repair was made. Now 3 months later it is doing the same thing. This is either a defective unit or Viking is making junk and charging a lot for it. Next step for us is to demand a replacement for this side by side and if they wont do that we will sue for a refund! Sad that this brand has become junk!

Since this was a French style with the split doors we were blessed to have our jarred fresh garlic freeze when the unit was set at 40 degrees. Weve had a very poor experience with our Viking. I had to return it to the store twice and then ultimately replace it with a different brand altogether. Most of the issues stem from a true ignition type igniter which is how the Vikings operate. So, when you set it to cook, it goes tick, tick, tick, and then lights itself up. But then, it shuts down. Also, to maintain temperature every few minutes, it tick, tick, ticks and fires up again. Once it comes up to temperature, it has clanging sounds. It also has an extremely loud fan that runs constantly the moment you turn the oven on. That was what we sought to fix via a replacement of the unit. The first one we received had a miscut piece in the air vent at the back. At first, they serviced it and said it was probably a defective fan. So, we swapped it with a brand-new one and it had the same problem. It cooks fine but its loud. My wife is a gourmet chef and she can appreciate the higher quality of things. Shes much happier with the LG that we ended up getting versus the Viking.

I had Viking for 20 years and on our last stove, we never had a problem. But this time, we had nothing but problems. We decided to put in the Viking range when we had a new house built and the first time we used the self-cleaning feature, all the boards were broken. Viking sent people for five months to fix it. They also had to take the range out then they sent in another range. But it was no good, too and the problem with that was you couldn’t bake without the griller coming on. So, we went through the holidays with no stove. And two days ago, they finally had people here to fix that and it’s finally working properly. Other than that, their customer service people couldn’t have been nicer when I dealt with them and they were pleasant to work with. But the problem was the wait time. When we started with the problem with Viking, it was the day after Thanksgiving and it just got resolved two days ago. So, that’s seven months we went without a stove. They didn’t even have people in our area that could come service the thing. In fact, when I first had an issue, I live in upstate New York and they tried to get a guy outta New York City but he wouldn’t come. Then they tried to get a guy outta Utica but he wouldn’t come either. And the clock was ticking, months were going by, and it was like we didn’t have a stove that we spent $15,000 on. They dragged their feet as far as getting us the part or getting somebody here. And the people above the reps I talked to would never follow through. When I asked them to call me and let me know any update, they said they would call me the next day. But two days would pass and I still didnt get a phone call. In the end, they made it right, got a hold of a local company, and spent thousands of dollars worth of parts to fix the stove. Still, for in wife’s perspective, we didn’t buy a refurbished stove. So even though it’s fixed, it’s still not like you get it outta the box. They had somebody come in and put new fans, new controls, and new motherboards, and it’s almost like it’s been refurbished. I’ve worked on a lot of stuff over the years and once you take something apart, it never quite goes back together the same. But Viking honored their warranty. The old stove that we had had a three-year warranty, which was a little disappointing on this stove now on which have a two-year full warranty. Still, the Viking ranges cook beautifully and they have nice features now with the racks that roll out and the ball bearing. One thing about stainless steel, it’s a pain in the butt. But they sent us a product called Thor which really cleans it up nicely. Our Viking range is beautiful stove, well-built, and heavy-duty. But after everything, they didnt even send me something for my inconvenience. Not even a can of cleaner. Viking also told me that the problem is the self-cleaning and that they wouldn’t recommend you really use it. But why are they selling the stove with it? This all started when we used the self-cleaning, which we did when it was new and we were testing everything out. It blew the motherboards out and one thing led to another. All in all, we got a lot of Viking appliances like the dishwasher, refrigerator, hood, and the wine beverage center. We’ve spent a lot of money on their products. But I wasn’t too happy with the stove in the last seven months and I would not buy another Viking stove again. I would neither tell my friends to spend $15,000 on a Viking stove, and have them call me up and say, “Geez, I bought this stove and I’m having the same problems you did.”

We purchased 3 Viking appliances (French door refrigerator, free standing range, dishwasher) in the middle of Sept. 2019 as part of their 3 for 2 deal at close to $10,000. Two of the appliances (range and refrigerator) had problems within the first week. After 2 visits from a technician from the store we purchased the appliances from, the stove seems to be working (for now). Not sure if the problem is really fixed, but hopeful. However, the refrigerator is still defective. The freezer door sagged, went out alignment and appears to be warped. That happened not more than a week after delivery.A technician sent by the company we purchased the appliances from couldnt fix it, had no idea why it happened in the first place. We were told that a technician from Viking approved company would need to attempt a repair. If a repair wouldnt be possible, Viking would exchange the refrigerator. Unfortunately the technician sent by Viking on Monday couldnt fix the problem either, identify the problem or offer any solutions. After reaching out to Viking customer support today (they dont contact you) I was told that they would send another technician from the same company who may have an idea how to fix it! Really? I choose to purchase Viking appliances because I expected good quality products and excellent customer service. Good customer service means that after delivering a defective appliance + 2 attempts to fix a new appliance - you exchange the appliance without asking your customer to take off more time from work to try to fix the problem. I am very disappointed and honestly very surprised that this is the customer service Viking provides.

It was really smooth to deal with customer service and the rep that came out was amazing. On the whole, the Viking range is expensive but its worth it. I wish I could have gotten a bigger one. I just didnt have room in this house.

We have known Viking for many years. The Viking Range was high-end quality and we wanted a commercial type of stove. We bought it from a dealer who was very nice and helpful to us. So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But Im not too happy about the shelves. They dont come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You cant get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

I am not very happy with Viking Refrigerators. They are not at the level that I thought they were like Wolf appliances. It definitely compares with Maytag and KitchenAid and in that range, I think Vikings one of the ones that I would definitely go for. But price-wise, it is slightly expensive. They are also pretty small refrigerators. I wanted the 44-inch and has more options to choose but I did not see many so I finally ended up with the 36-inch ones. Although, its doing what a fridge is supposed to do and I think thats the minimum we expect to see. I like the compartment arrangement even though the rack arrangement in the lower compartment is small. Its also very noisy and I like to see a quieter appliance than what I have.

Viking is known as a higher end appliance, and were really happy with the quality of our refrigerator. The ice maker is louder than I would like, but it doesnt go off that often. I really like the amount of capacity in the refrigerator because for this size of refrigerator that we were looking at, Viking has the highest capacity. Go ahead and buy a Viking fridge.

My refrigerator is working great and my favorite feature is the internal water dispenser found on the door. Then for the dishwasher, I had to call the Viking dealer for repair. They came and repaired it under the warranty and kept me up to date on getting the part. It has been an excellent experience.

We have had constant ice maker issues (constant tapping noise as ice maker has always had issues with ejecting ice) and now the button that ejects the water filter is broken. Insulation is saturated and has been dripping for at least a couple of years in what is now a 6-year-old refrigerator. Viking said it couldnt be repaired and that the problem was caused by South Floridas humidity. Come on. Viking is manufactured in humid Mississippi! Viking offered a special replacement discount of 20% for a limited time. We are talking about several thousand dollars here. Still living with this miserable and annoying problem. Time to vent our displeasure. Model VIRB364RSS - Cost of this 36 all refrigerator unit was $4,122.00 in 2013. P.s. We also own a Viking all-freezer, induction cooktop, thermal convection wall oven, microwave and warming drawer. Vikings response to what was obviously a defective product---disheartening and weak.

I could kick myself for not reading these reviews before buying Viking!!! Built a new home with all Viking appliances. Serious quality problems on everything except the range....so far. They are not a refrigerator company or a dishwasher company. I am as far to say they cheap quality! We absolutely wish we could go back to our GE or Maytag kitchens. In 2 new house with GE and Maytag and 15 years we did not even have 1 service call. Viking in 1 year of our 3rd new house 3 problems with ref. and just a bad dishwasher (never dries). Frustrated and feel terrible that I spent $10,000 over our budget to get Viking to end up with this level of quality and service.

We like that Vikings were brushed stainless. So, that fits with our current appliances. They have a nice, clean, sort of no-frills look. We got the ceramic top mostly because we dont have any venting in our house, and it would be a real rigamarole to put in. We would have preferred the gas range, but so far, the ceramic range is working really, really well for us. Its easy to clean and it looks nice all the time. It works like a champ, so were really tickled with it.The Vikings dealer was wonderful. Everybody was very knowledgeable, and they understood our specific constraints. Once we saw the Viking line, we really wanted to stay with it, and they were able to match us up with what we needed. We also purchased a Viking dishwasher at the same time and I registered both appliances. During the registration, there were a couple of numbers missing from serial numbers that didnt match up. That was a bit of a hassle, and I couldnt really complete the registration online without some help from tech support. But overall, Im very satisfied with Vikings.

We wanted a high-end range. We needed something ultra dependable and something with great reviews. I cook a lot and I use good quality pots and pans. We use a lot of cast iron skillets and Le Creuset. Everything thats out there right now is even broken in the store. We went to Lowes a couple of times and the grates of some of their higher end ranges were snapped in the store. It was pretty dumb. Another big factor for us is we did not want a display board. Our previous couple ranges had that kind of electronic stuff and we wanted dials we could turn. We understand there are electronics in there but I dont need a pizza setting or anything like that. We bought the Viking range professional model so its an open burner and we love it. We are now calling it the turbo stove and turbo oven because the stuff cooks so fast. But we had to have a guy come out and check it because some of the igniters werent igniting right away on the stove. When we would turn it off, it would go poof and there is a big flash of flame. We had converted to propane. He checked everything and said it was fine. He explained something about the valve that lets the gas in is further back so we are gonna have that. Its not a problem though as it’s not dangerous. Its just something that had to get used to. And then the guy figured out what we could do where it wont poof. Right now, I have a Le Creuset on the stove and I’m making a bone broth. If I put the two back burners on the simmer function, it’s really nice and low. My broth simmers nicely. It kinda huffs but it doesn’t do that on the front burners. I got a huge stockpot on a front burner. It’s in the lowest setting and its beautiful. Our range works fantastically but it is different from what we were used to. Were adaptable though. We’re gladly working with it. Also, the range doesnt have a timer but Im okay with that. I baked a sourdough loaf this morning and it’s beautiful. The oven is consistently 25 degrees off according to my Amazon internal cheapo thermometer in there. But were also at 4,200 feet. As long as I know that its 25 degrees off, I can deal with that. Our last range was all digital and it was so unpredictable. Thats why we wanted something predictable. Our Viking range is, so far. It’s beautiful and it’s a work of art.

Im from Mississippi so its not hard to hear about Viking Ranges here. I wanted to support a homegrown company and I cook a lot and have heard good reviews about it. I also had some friends that had them and enjoyed them. I appreciate the way if I spilled something on the top of the stove or something overflows that has a lid on it, the cleanup on that is not bad. Its pretty easy for me to clean up compared to the last stove combination I had. However, I have not been very pleased. I have a gas top and oven and the gas oven has been very difficult to regulate. It takes forever to heat up, way longer than ever expected for the oven to pre-heat. I have to turn it on a good 30 minutes prior to and sometimes longer. I put my own room thermometer in there because I dont trust the temperature setting. I hate the way the gas comes on and off. Early on, I was having struggles with everything being too dark on the bottom and light on the top. My appliance man said, Youre not waiting long enough to pre-heat. Youre gonna have to wait. Im also frustrated with the oven size. I have a big oven and a little oven side-by-side. The little oven is half an inch to an inch too small. And the big oven, when I try to get something in there like two pans or skillets, they dont fit well either. I cook all the time and I prefer large groups. We have work entertainment that I do all the time. I tried to do two big pork shoulder roasts at the same time. It was in there for hours and difficult to get both of them in there the way the pans were. I wouldve taken an inch out of the big one because its not helping and put the inch in the other one. Theres also the fact that its hard to clean on the inside. Viking makes a big deal about not scratching anything and not using anything harsh on it so Ive been very careful. I have to heat it up just a little bit and then have a wet rag and muscle it to get it off. When I spill something over, grease gets on the aisles of the stove and I havent gotten those off. I cant get those off without having to use something harsher than they recommend. We bought the vent that goes over it and Ive been hugely disappointed in that too. Its really difficult to get the grates out to wash them. I cant talk to anybody if I turn it on since it is obnoxiously loud. I also bought a warming drawer and thats been okay but theres a little spring-like lever that goes on it to make it click into place, and it broke for some reason. The appliance guy said, Well have to order that part. And then he went to order the part and Viking had stopped producing those parts for a while. He worked on getting a part to help with the regulation of the temperature in the oven and called me to come out and put that one in. But I dont think its going to help and I dont see what its going to do. Overall Im dissatisfied and if I could get rid of it, I would. If I hadnt spent so money, I wouldnt be quite as dissatisfied. But when you spend that much money, you expect a lot.

Replaced an existing 36 built in Viking with the same size ($7700.00). Didnt want to repair the wood molding to fit a non-built in unit. One year, both Crisper drawers (middle shelves) are cracked in front. Both have vertical cracks in the middle of the drawers. Doesnt affect the operation, but it is at eye-level to remind you every time you open the door. I did save the shelves/drawers from the old removed Viking unit. Unfortunately, I only have one spare shelf left because the Wife has sold my spares to other unfortunate Viking Customers. Oh, and the same issue as everyone else with the Ice Maker; if you dont monitor the amount in the bin and shut-off the arm, every time you open the freezer door ice falls out the bin into the back of the freezer. Doubt I will purchase $180.00 drawers because of cracks.

Ive known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time. We purchased a home recently that had a built-in refrigerator and it had a sub-zero that was not working. I went over to Best Buy to check some stuff out. I knew they had the Pacific Home in there so I went in and got the Viking fridge. We had a rocky start because when they came and delivered it, the refrigeration door was approximately a half an inch lower than the freezer door. And there was no adjusting it. They had to basically come out, take the door off, put some spacers underneath the one side to level it out and get it all to work right, which is pretty frustrating for a $12,000 refrigerator. At first, Best Buy said, Well, youre gonna have to call Viking. and I said, Im not gonna call anybody. I bought it from you so you guys can figure it out or you can come pick up your refrigerator and Ill buy from somebody else. And they figured it out. The lady I talked with at the dealership was very helpful. When she wasnt available the day that I called and there was an issue, she called me the next day. She also called me after the follow up when they came out and fixed it to make sure everything is okay and did a great job.Everything is great. I do like that all the shelving on the doors is all metal instead of the flimsy plastic. We have a separate ice maker so we don’t really use the one inside of it too much. It doesnt seem to hold a lot so if that was our only ice maker, that would probably be a downside for us. Overall, the refrigerator is very solid. Were looking to hopefully buy an in-wall oven and a dishwasher from Viking soon.

I had a problem with my door. I was given Absolute Parts Repair as the service agent. I have ZERO complaints about them (especially Brandi ** who was an absolute delight to work with!!) BUT I have 2 complaints about Viking Parts Service. It took more than ONE MONTH to get the new door to fix my brand new stove. I finally called directly and talked to a gentleman who said my part should ship in 2 business days. IT DID NOT, in fact there was no part but rather the next time I called Viking Parts directly, I was told that they were manufacturing a whole new door. The second experience was good with Melody **. She kept me up to date and watched my order but honestly ONE PLUS MONTH for a part?? Luckily my kids have moved out but to not have an oven for more than one month is not acceptable as far as I am concerned.

I’m very satisfied with my experience with Viking, but it is too expensive. Also, BestBuy, the actual dealer, is good, but I scheduled for delivery, and they delivered on the wrong date. And then, I called them back to pick it up, and they didn’t want to. It was crazy. I told them I didn’t want it that day, but they said they wanna deliver that day because they didnt wanna come back so I told them that my house wasnt ready yet. They said they were coming back. I don’t like Viking appliances. I’ve had issues with the ice maker ever since I bought my refrigerator. They came out one time and replaced it because they said there was a fly in it. After they fixed it, it worked for about six months. And then I have to always pull the bin out, empty it out, clean it out and put it back in so it could work again. Now it doesn’t work at all. I’ve called Appliance Masters and they’ve been out many times. The repairman comes and he says nothing is wrong with it but I still have an issue. At this point, I have no warranty on it but I need someone to come out and actually fix it. I ordered the part to change it myself. The dealers were nice. But as far as when I emailed them, I got absolutely no response.I’ve had my dishwasher for seven years and when I turn it on, it runs over three hours and I have to open the door and see if it’s clean or dry. I never know how long it’s supposed to take. I never knew from the beginning because it never ran a full cycle. When I open it, I see all this water and soap in the bottom. I wash my dishes by hand. The water is sitting there. I have to spoon it out or cup it out because it starts to smell after a while. It’s a big issue for me because I’ve never been able to have a full cycle of clean dishes. When I called this last time to get somebody to help me with my appliances, the repairman told me he gets a negative call every single day and he’s always apologizing to the customers when they call. Consumers like me don’t know who to contact to say their complaint to. The sales guy was telling me that he gets this kind of call every single day. Generally, I’m easygoing and I don’t really like complaining about anything. But when it comes to a point when somebody’s so top-notch, I get very disappointed because of the name.Viking has a name like Mercedes-Benz. I was thinking I was getting the best and I was very wrong because if Viking was so great, their appliances would work properly. And even if I get a lemon, I understand that at least it could be fixed when someone comes out to check it. I was disappointed. I would not recommend Viking to anybody. I would not recommend the places I called for service for Viking. They just can’t fix it. I used to have a GE and it’s in my garage now. It works a lot better than Viking and I’ve had that a lot longer.

I went from electric to gas with the Viking range. Aside from wanting gas, I liked the looks of it and the knobs. Theyre big and theyre easy to use. I like the sliding rack too but they should have two of them in there and not just one. Also, when we got the range home, the convection oven did not work. I didnt know it for a while because I didnt use it. But Viking was really prompt about getting it taken care of and getting a man out here to fix it. Ive had it for a couple of months now and everything has been great so far. We also bought the microwave and the convection on it didnt work. I purchased the 3 Series Freestanding 30 Gas Range from Guler Appliances in Rockford, IL. Very shortly after beginning to use the stove the problems with it became very apparent. The fan began making grinding noises shortly after the oven reached temp and continued through the entire cool down process after the oven was turned off. The oven does not hold temperature and is regularly at least 60 degrees off, and after it preheats the heat continues to decrease. This makes it pretty hard to bake multiple batches of anything. The first batch overcooks and the second batch barely cooks. Its ridiculous. The convection oven does not cook evenly. The batch on the left side of the oven overcooks and the batch on the right side undercooks. The purpose of a convection is even cooking. When on any baking setting the bottom of the pan overcooks whatever is on there (cookies, scones, etc.) even when moved to the top rack. The burner knob on one of the burners is almost too tight to turn. It does not turn smoothly. The original repairmen came out and told me this was beyond them. Now Viking is taking their sweet time seeing if they can remedy the problem starting with a new motherboard. Great way to spend $4,500!

Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range
Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range that I bought specifically so that I could have gas plus electric self cleaning. The range is 11 years old and Ive infrequently used the self cleaning, perhaps 7 times at the most. First repair in 2009 cost $700 and now it is broken again. At this rate, self cleaning is costing $100+ per use. When I complained the first time about the outrageous repair cost to Viking, they figuratively shrugged their shoulders. I have another complaint in again. I would not recommend this range in particular and I would be hesitant to buy any Viking appliance without careful review.

In my last home that I built, we put a Viking range and a hood in it. I did research on it at the time and it was one of the highest rated in Consumer Reports. From experience with it before, I went to purchase another one when I redid my new kitchen. Everything’s been fine with it and I’ve been very pleased. I love everything about the range except two things. The first is the old stove I had had individual grates for each burner and I miss that. With this one, I have a five-burner stove and its got three grates. I would prefer to have each burner have their own grate. Its easier for me when Im cleaning it to be able to lift one of the grates to wipe out the area which needs to be wiped down. The second issue is the knobs. I remodeled my house in 2009 and changed all my appliances to Viking Professional appliances. I was under the assumption that this is the best product available and moreover it is made in USA!!!! I came to find out this is the biggest and worst scam to rub people of their money with nothing but a heavy chunks of metal. I have had problem with my gas cook-top where I had it repaired 4 times. It kept clicking and the technician said the board was bad. Changing the board resolved it for a day and then he said the ignition parts are bad so he changed them. This started again so another company came and fixed it somehow and said the wiring was bad. After all this the cups around the burners changed color. Refrigerator does not dispense water and leaks in freezer and freezes all the time making it impossible to dispense ice and only way to get ice is to carve it because it is clumped together. Microwave oven does not heat as much as $150 microwave and has been corroding inside. Oven stopped working during Christmas time and took 6 months for them to figure out what was wrong with me being on the phone for hours with Viking executive offices. Vent unit has four settings which one has never worked. Viking does not take any responsibility for any of the problems you get. Standing behind their products is a news to them. I think their policy is sell, run and hide. I do have a Whirlpool Refrigerator that has spend most its life of 21 years in the garage with harsh temperatures but is still running like the first day. I would not buy and would discourage anyone that I care about to stay away from these products. I bought these items from Number 1 Appliance and they said these come with 10 years of warranty but each time I called the warranty company they told me that problem is not covered. I think they just warrant the heaviness of the product not its functionality.

My wife and I just replaced our Viking side by side with a Sub Zero side by side. Boy what a difference. During the warranty period the service tech was out to our house about once per month. The Ice Maker didnt work in that it dripped water into the ice tray and formed long hanging icicles which made it almost impossible to open the ice drawer. The screw mechanism that forced the ice into the ice crusher would fail on a regular basis so we could never use our machine for crushed ice. The rubber seals on the doors began cracking early on preventing a tight door closure. The plastic drawers and shelves began cracking as well. Since almost all of them began cracking at the same time this was more of a poor materials issue than a one time problem. The machine has only one compressor which cools the freezer. There is a fan between the freezer and refrigerator that blows cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator to keep it cool. This means that everything on the top two shelves of the refrigerator were usually frozen. The compressor failed and since the freezer and refrigerator were on the same compressor we lost both. The control panel on top of the machine was basically useless in that it had a useless bar led graph rather than a digital numerical display to give you a relative estimate of the coldness setting in the freezer. When we replaced this Viking with a Sub Zero it was like being reborn. All of the design issues we suffered with the Viking are absent in the Sub Zero, including the single compressor issue. The Sub Zero has two compressors, one for the refrigerator and one for the freezer which are isolated from one another. The Sub Zero has easy to use numerical controls to independently set the freezer and refrigerator temperatures to a resolution of one degree, air filters to remove Ethylene gasses produced by stored vegetables, an internal on/off switch to power up/down the machine for maintenance or cleaning, and it has what looks to be a reliable ice maker and water dispenser design. The other issue we had problems with is that it is difficult if not impossible to find a Viking certified appliance repair company when you live in a remote area. The closest Viking certified repair company was 100 miles away. This creates huge problems, especially when the warranty expires.

My sister had a Viking Refrigerator and I also chose them because my LG broke and I wanted a counter depth refrigerator, basically with the luxury of a high-end refrigerator, but not having a built-in. A built-in will run you $10,000 to $12,000, so I thought it was a good idea to go with the name Viking. It really fits my kitchen as well. The price was on point and I didn’t consider anything else because of it. The quality of the refrigerator is good, so far. It seems to keep my food a lot fresher than my LG did. However, the refrigerator door doesn’t stay all the way down in that lift. It also makes ice so fast that when you pull the door open, ice cubes fall out. It’s not a defect and it’s not such a bad thing, but its not perfect. Nevertheless, I like the handle of the refrigerator because it matches our Wolf oven. Im all about the look and I would tell others to definitely go for Viking Refrigerators. I would also tell them that I could actually go to Costco with the comfort of knowing my food is going to last.

We were told that Viking was the second best among appliance companies. We couldnt afford the best, which would be Wolf. Wolf wouldve been probably double the cost. Viking had good reviews and their products look good. We went to Trail Appliances, the distributor, and the salesperson showed the Viking products to us. We liked the products and bought several appliances in the same make, including a gas stove, convection oven, and dishwasher.Trail Appliances tested the refrigerator before they left. There was a problem with it, so they didnt install it. They replaced it immediately. It was really good that they tested it. Other dealers just put the appliance in, then you find out that it doesnt work. So far, the Viking refrigerator that we got is really good, and Im happy with it. We like its looks. Everybodys complimented me on it. It works better than my previous refrigerator. I like the excellent ice maker. Well need that in the summer. The good thing about it is that it keeps fruits and vegetables for a couple of weeks, especially fruits, compared to my previous fridge where Id have to throw it out in three or four days.

I knew about Viking Ranges long ago from listening to my clients. After pricing the products towards the end of the year, Viking had a better promotion. I picked the range that I wanted online, went in, and paid for it. My favorite about it is its easiness of use, though I had expected more with the range’s quality for the price that I spent on it. But everything was perfect with Viking. They were also very good about sending someone to fix the range when one of the burners wasn’t working. It took them a couple of weeks to send somebody out.

My old Viking fridge was leaking and causing damage to the hardwood floors. Viking offered a 30% discount on a new model and requested a copy of the invoice after I made the purchase. They then changed their mind and offered a 10% refund instead. Still waiting for the check months later. Dishonest and disgraceful customer service.

Our Viking range came with my new kitchen. It is a beautiful piece of architecture, and I love its high quality. I like the dual nature of it. Its an electric range gas top. I love how it looks and feels. We had a service call on it, though. Periodically and almost in a random way, the settings for the oven were not matching what it was doing. So we’d put it on bake at 425 and it would bake at 200 or something. And every once in while, it would switch into the cleaning mode and lock itself up and get really hot even though it was set on bake or whatever. It was totally weird. It locked us out once, and it didn’t cook while we had food in it.

Same issues as most everyone else. Viking refrigerator model #DFRB530 has been a nightmare. Constant broken and cracked drawers, ones are the door so bad that they randomly just bust loose when you open the door and smash jars and bottles all over the place. Ice maker works when it feel like it, and door makes very weird sound that is progressively getting worse.... Now Im wondering if I will just fall off as others did? All this after paying $12,000.00 for side by side top of the line units that have been nothing but a disappointment! My Sub Zero that I had for 20 years I put in basement to use as extra refrigerator until it breaks. Its still going like a champ! Never ever again will I purchase a Viking appliance, and like others we live in very high end neighborhood, and I will spread the word to everyone I know, building or remodeling, to steer clear of Viking!

Viking Designer Series Electric Oven Panel Decals / Labels are completely faded. We clean this oven as directed by Viking. After time, the decals completely vanish leaving no indicators whatsoever. Viking acknowledges this problem but they will not do anything. In my point of view, this should be something to be recalled whereas the manufacturer has encountered issues with the quality that should be resolved.

I have Viking products in our previous house and I wanted some professional line. That is why my whole kitchen is Viking including the refrigerator. The refrigerator is cooling and it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. Its the only good Viking product I have. I have a dishwasher and a stove but thats a different story. I’m on my third dishwasher and on the second stove which has eight burners. They also have a good warranty.

We purchased a 30 Viking range. It is all gas. We have experienced extremely hot wall tile directly above grate that lines the back edge of range when gas oven is on. Water droplets run down the tile for first few minutes of preheating. I am worried to use the oven since tiles at back get very hot. I rarely use oven and we spent so much money to purchase Viking. Also there was a recall on a oven part and we had Viking service is already 3 times. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

The oven that we bought from Viking took about eight months to ship and when it came, it was damaged. We had to wait another month and a half to fix one part, so it could be fully operational. So, I dont have a lot of confidence that the rest of the machine is going to last that long. The broiler specifically had to be rebuilt in our house. The microwave hasnt worked properly since installation and after three months, we finally got Viking to replace it instead of fixing it. Its nice having a high BTU range, which was what I was looking for, as a home chef. The oven seems to be working fine and the microwave has some good features if it would work. There should be open communication between the retailer and the Viking Middleby company. Im disappointed. If I had known now what we would have gone through, I probably would have chosen a different option. We were simply upgrading our kitchen and we had something that was working that we got rid of for this.

Viking Ranges look beautiful that’s why I chose Viking over a different name, also because of the quality and the name behind it. I wanted everything to match, so I went with the range and the dishwasher as well. The range has worked really well, but the dishwasher had problems when it was first originally shipped. The team with Viking came in and had to replace two parts, but for a brand-new appliance having two new different parts, having someone come in was not something I expected. In the future, I would stick with the actual cookware and not the auxiliary accessories.I have the standard range and stovetop, but its built well. Everything on it is really strong and really sturdy like it would be lasting a long time. I dont worry about if its gonna break if I move to someplace Im gonna have to be of if Im gonna end up replacing it in the next five years. On top of that, I really like the timeless design, where it wont go out of style if I switch from plain marble to black marble. Its not something Im gonna have to replace.

Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.

I wanted all my appliances to match. So I went and got the Viking refrigerator. My stove is really good but I see the refrigerator and I dont see the same quality. Im not very satisfied for the price I paid. The refrigerator has some issues. I have spoken to customer service and the year was going by and I thought I need to call them again. The refrigerator freezes food in the refrigerator area. But even at the bottom of the refrigerator, Im starting to see some sort of accumulation. The maintenance people are not very familiarized because the rep told me that down where Im from, there are not many people that own Viking. But the lady that does also had the same issues of food freezing. The handles are very wobbly. I constantly have to tighten them up. It doesnt have a feature in the ice machine where it stops after it feels that it has made enough ice. For such an expensive and quality brand, those features would have been looked into. They had to also repair, just within purchase, the deli meat door because it was off. It was crooked. Right away, they sent the deli door. But the guy hasnt even called me. He was supposed to check into that whole freezing of the food in the refrigerator. But Ive been lenient because I said it was a holiday.

I do a lot of work in Buckhead and different areas seem to have a Viking equipment. It’s something that I liked, the looks and the quality, so I pursued it on my own and bought the equipment. Upscale equipment has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what company, everybody is going to have a problem at some point. But having Viking distributor just about a mile away works out good for me. However, the door on the freezer and door on the refrigerator does not match. The finish on the door is totally different from the cooler. Otherwise, it’s a superb product. I got a good feedback on it so it’s a great and nice looking product with the exception of just a few hiccups. My favorite feature is the dual-fuel oven. Overall, I’m happy with the product and my wife is enjoying it. My brother’s purchasing an equipment too so I’ll surely get him into it as well.

We purchased a home with a Viking range and dishwasher. We have lived here five years and we have our dishwasher serviced at least once a year. Wires continue to burn up. Weve placed major parts and the pump, and last night something in the front panel started a fire and melted a hole in the inside metal. We had a house full of smoke, but thankfully we were home before the kitchen went up in flames. Weve already spent the cost of the washer in repairs and will not even call a technician this time. We will be buying a new dishwasher, but never again a Viking appliance. Our range has not had all the same problems, but the igniters are unreliable. The oven takes 1/2 hour to reach the desired temperature. The door is heavy and were just waiting for it to break. The writing has worn off in many places on the knob panel. These are just not problems you expect from high end appliances.I do not recommend Viking. They are not worth the money and their customer service department is entirely useless.

I will never buy another Viking product after what we have experienced with our 5-year old Viking refrigerator. Until this year, we were so thrilled with our new kitchen. Then Jan 5, 2013 came and our refrigerator stopped working. We had to throw out well over $1000 in ruined food. Imagine my surprise to find that we couldnt get same day service for such a serious problem. Only after contacting Dave and Donna from RiverBend and Co, where we purchased all of our appliances, did we finally hear from a service company. They came out 2 days later. Since the parts are so expensive for this appliance, they are not kept in stock. Not only were we charged for the new part over $500, we had the honor of waiting almost 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and a service person to come back to install it. A horrible 2 weeks, but at least it was after the holidays and the refrigerator was able to be repaired. October 28, 2013, I came home from work to an alarm. Our freezer had defrosted again! By the middle of the night, the refrigerator alarm was going off. We lost everything for a second time! I called VESCO, the company who repaired our refrigerator the first time and they had no availability to send someone out and were not very interested in our situation. They recommended I call HADCO, and after 24 hrs received a response that they had great news - a serviceman would be in our area in 8 days! I think that is unacceptable. I started searching online to see if other Viking owners had had similar experiences. There are thousands of us posting similar reviews online about these refrigerators. We are heading out to buy a cooler today and now have to wait until Monday to start calling again to get a resolution. We are so disappointed that Viking does not care about its customers. Buyer beware.

I saw a Viking Range for the first time when I was 13 in Architectural Digest and I wanted it ever since. I finally was able to get one. I did look at competitors but the Viking Range was my favorite. I love that its built with such quality and such simplicity. Its the best of design. Its not overfussy. One of my big worries when I got it is whether or not it would be easy to clean. But the fact that the parts all come off and you can just throw them in the sink, I was surprised by how easy it is to clean. Its everything that it needs to be. We got good service and its a good product. It not only works well but also we enjoy the experience of cooking on the range. We live on a farm so were not on natural gas and we had to adapt to propane. Everyone else that we talked to was not particularly helpful. But Viking was able to quickly and effectively solve the issue that we had without replacing the appliance which was really nice cause we were trying to get moved into our house. We also have the dishwasher, the vent hood and the refrigerator from Viking and we really love them. Were really happy with them.

We bought an entire set of Viking appliances: vegetable drawer, beverage fridge, and ovens. The fridge specifically has been fantastic, just the quality of it and the features that it has. Having the freezer at the bottom is a great feature. We have the two drawers there that pull out separately. Also, theres a separate rolling tray that separates between the upper and lower half of the freezer itself, which is great. We also like that since the door is a French door, we can put in wider items there like a tray of longer cake, whereas if its double doors, it wouldnt be like that. But when I tried to do baking and set up the temperature to 300 it never heated up to 300. I also called them before to tell them what the issues were and they said they couldn’t help unless I register my product so I did.
