Amana Washer NTW4516F - If I could give Zero or negative I would. This is the MOST awful service I have ever had anywhere, and I am 65 years old and have lived on 3 continents and 4 countries. Awful washer, awful service. The washer blew up with electric sparks all over the place after 3 weeks - couldve electrocuted the lady of the house! Now we are coming up on 4 weeks later and the repair is STILL NOT COMPLETE. I get a lot of sympathy but no action. The local service company never did respond to any follow up, or messages left on their god-awful phone system, and now we have to wait another week to get a second service company in there. Amana never offered to compensate for having to go to the laundromat for a month, or replace their crummy machine.
Last February 2006, I purchased an Amana Top Refrigerator Bottom Freezer. For 5 years, this is the third time I replace its Control Board. And today (9/2011), I was told that I need my THIRD Control Board ($300) replace again. I got no help from my local retailer or Amana. I will never buy this junk again. For 5 years, this refrigerator cost me $1000 new Control Boards and $900 in repairs!
When my Amana fridge was delivered I noticed a lot of scratches on one side and a dent on the other. I immediately contacted my salesmen and sent him pictures of damages. Waited weeks for response and was offered a small credit. They were not willing to replace the fridge. I contacted Amanas customer service and got no satisfaction at all. Stuck with a scratched up and dented fridge! Amana - NOT a good buy.
Amana (made by Whirlpool) washing machine broke just after 1 year warranty had elapsed. Trying to get thru to extended warranty people with Whirlpool took 45 minutes on hold, then was told they could be there tomorrow. When local repair company (Appliance Hospital) called, they could not be out for 3 weeks. NO communication between the 2 companies. Worthless washing machine, worthless warranty, worthless company overall. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance.
The fridge is new & set at recommended settings. Things in fridge froze. The temperature control indicates cold on BOTH ends instead of colder on one end thus it is not clear how to adjust it up or down!!! Even the Amana chat told me to turn it down but could not indicate which way until completing a long chat!!!!
My Amana washing machine does a great job that makes my laundry day fantastic. I love using it and my male companion uses it to wash his suits. I could have never purchased a more durable washer and it does not use too much electricity. I am very proud of my washer.
I got this product installed in my rented house by the landlord. The machine stopped working on the first week right before Christmas. We waited 10 days for repair guy to come and fix it. The machine is new so he billed $340 the insurance or whatever. Two laundry loads later the machine is dead again. I ruined my laundry because I put the detergent and the bleach and had to wait another week for another repair guy to come. Im not going to be surprised if it dies again soon after... I wonder if all the happy customers reviews are actually submitted by the customers. I also wonder if my review will be screened out and removed from this site. Im gonna post it everywhere though. Save your money and save yourself from the troubles. Get something that is not so cheaply made.
I’ve been using my Amana washing machine for 8 years now; always works and washes my clothes clean every time! :-). My Amana washing machine is of the most simple of model’s made; but its always worked just perfect for my family of three people.
I purchased an Amana Washer on 2/13/2015 from a dealer in appliances here in Oldsmar, FL. I bought this Washer and Dryer due to the fact these items were Made in America. The paint on inside of the top lid of the washer is chipping off, peeling off, etc. and some of these flakes of paint drop into the washer on my clothes and only will only get worse with time. I called Amana and since I did not like what the sales rep said I asked for a supervisor which stated to me that he could not help me to replace the top piece of the washer. He could only send me a bottle of touch up paint. This guy also needs to send me a large brush with a quart of paint! This washer is only a little over 3 years old and should not be peeling like it is. Not like a bunch of people use this washer as it is being used by 2 adults. No abuse or rough treatment on this appliance. Lousy paint job! Where was the inspector for the painting of this washer? Not doing his job most likely because if he had done a half-way decent inspection he would have noticed the bad paint job. The sample bottle would not cover the areas without paint. I cannot believe that this was made in America as some 3rd world country would do a much better paint job. Dryer is OK but washer a mess. I will never buy a Made in America washer or dryer again. The foreign appliances will be on my list to purchase from now on especially since these manufacturers in the US make these defective items and charge you many dollars for junk. Never will recommend Amana to anyone for anything as they do not stand behind their work.
It is an electric 4 burner glass or ceramic top model with a range. One of the burners has 2 settings to match the size of the pan or pot being used. The control settings can be confusing on both the stove top or the oven.
Purchased an Amana top loading washer and two days the door lock light was flashing and the unit was buzzing. The washer smelled like wires were overheating. 5 service appointments later the unit was replaced by Amana. Less than a week later the problem I had with the first unit is now happening with the New replaced model. Amana stated that they have no recalls or complaints on this model NTW4605EW0.
We have an Amana refrigerator model ARB2557CSR. We have had it for 8 years. We have had a few repairs over the years, but last night took the wind out of all of us that witnessed the door fall off the hinge and break the contents that were on the door. If anyones foot would have been in the area, it would had sliced it off or crushed terribly. The door was opened and for unknown reason, dropped off onto our slate floor. If our grandson would have been near, he could have been crushed. I checked the hinges and sprockets, and it still didnt make sense. After reading other remarks about doors in consumer reviews, I am one to be added to the list. This door was one large door, not double door. It was heavy. Please be aware of this defect. I am looking at other models, yet similar malfunctions have occurred that reviews have stated. Really a frightening experience. We will be looking at other models, yet not really confident about any. Hope this helps.
We have had our washer and dryer for 3 years and they have never been any good. My washer timer stopped working so we are having to sit and listen out for the machine to complete or it will continue to repeat the cycles all over again if we dont stop it ourselves. The washing machine also knocks so loudly that even the dogs next door begin to bark. Our dryer timer has also stopped working causing the heating element to not blow heat.
AER6303MFS - My hope in ordering this range was to receive a reasonably-priced, decent quality product that would serve me well over the next several years. Granted, I was aware that this was by no means a top-of-the-line appliance, but upon researching it I found that it had good reviews overall and felt confident about purchasing it. Fast forward to last week, when my range was delivered on a Monday. Everything appeared to be working well upon arrival when I inspected it, and I was excited to have a nice-looking, well functioning appliance for my kitchen. On Friday evening, I decided to use my new oven for some baking. When I pulled the handle to open the door, the whole thing just fell into pieces. Little pieces of plastic and a strip of trim scattered on the floor. The door handle itself was hanging by a thread, and the glass panel front of the door was loose and I was afraid that it was also going to fall off. Needless to say, I did not do any baking that day. The following Monday, I called the Amana customer service line (they are not open on weekends) to report that my product was defective. After talking with them, and the appliance customer service line for the retailer where I bought the product, and being transferred to several different representatives over the course of 1.5 hours, the bottom line was that I was stuck with my defective range unless I wanted to pony up the cash for a brand new one. Amana is willing to repair the defects, which of course I am skeptical about because who knows what else is broken in that hunk of junk? Oh well, I guess Im just the sucker in this situation. I would not recommend this product or any other Whirlpool product (that includes Amana and Maytag) as they are clearly not willing to stand behind the quality of their products (or lack thereof).
Gentlemen I buy all my appliances on July 2013 on Home Depot and in Oct 2014 my washer machine does not work. I call the company and they replace the computer, now 6 month later all the paint was rust and peeling. My refrigerator since the first day the Home Depot installs never delivery water on the door, and now the icemaker water conduct is freezing every two days and dont make ice. I will have a very bad experience with your products and never ever will buy again.
I have been a loyal Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid customer for close to 50 years now. My 7 year old French Door Amana Refrigerator still works fine, but has a product defect, the heater. Ice forms on the bottom of the Freezer compartment, and if not removed every 3 weeks (manually defrost) it will melt and run onto the floor. I had it repaired 1½ years ago for $503. Less than 8 months later the problem reappeared. There is a class action lawsuit for this well known issue. But Amana refuses to act. I called Amana and they told me they would gladly send a repair person out to look at the issue - AT MY EXPENSE!!!! Thats all they will do. Yesterday I bought my first Non-Whirlpool appliance, a GE refrigerator. I will never buy Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag or Kitchen Aid again - NEVER!!!
I thought Id done adequate research through Consumer Reports, etc. My Amana French door refrigerator model # AFD2535FES worked fine for the first year. Then, the food compartment wasnt as cold as it should be and food began to spoil, although the food in the freezer drawer was rock solid and snow started forming on the inside. Id purchased an extended warranty, so I thought having it repaired would be a non-issue. The repairman said it was due to too much food in the freezer, so air couldnt circulate into the food compartment. He said to defrost the freezer, which I did. It seemed to work OK for two weeks and the same thing happened again--all the food spoiled again, even with minimal food in the freezer. The second repairman came out, this time he said it needed a new heating element. I waited another week for the part to arrive (more time off work) and then he returned and replaced it. Two weeks later, the same problem happened. Spoiled food again, and time off work. I am expecting the repairman later today. This fancy stainless steel behemoth is a lemon and needs to be recalled. The temp inside is 65F and makes storing food impossible. It has been a huge expense and a great inconvenience. I will never buy another Amana appliance and I will advise everyone I know to boycott their products.
We purchased an Amana washer on 6/22/13 and on 9/28/13 it quit working. We called the store where we purchased it and they told us that if we hadnt sent in the warranty, Amana would not stand behind it. This is our third washer in 5 years. Dont they make washers that last at least 5 years?
When we had purchased our house almost 2 years ago there was a fairly new and barely used Amana range. I use it all the time and never had any issues at all, also like the idea that it is self cleaning even though I hadn't used that feature as of yet but plan on it very soon.
A year and a half ago we purchased a brand new dryer (Amana tandem 7300 dryer) from Home Depot. As we were renovating our home, we continued to use our old appliances until our new laundry room was completed. The new washer and dryer stayed in a spare room, in its original packaging. This past weekend (July 5,2014), we hooked up our brand new, high eff. washer and dryer, only to find the dryer didnt work properly. It would go on for a few seconds, was really noisy and then stop, and repeat again. We called in an appliance repairman. He stated that the motor was faulty and would have to be replaced. $150 for the motor and $150 for the labor. I called Whirlpool (Amana), who said they would pay to have someone check it but that was it. Obviously, it wasnt checked properly at the factory in the first place, because if the motor was blown before we even used it, what kind of shoddy workmanship is going on. Im sure this doesnt happen often, but when it very obviously hasnt been used at all (as our repairman stated). Why could they not send out their own serviceman to affirm this and then, at the very least, give us a new motor while we would pay for the service call. I dont think we will ever buy Amana/whirlpool ever again. Very shoddy company.
I purchased a brand new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Dual Action Agitator (model NTW4516FW2) in July 2018 from Home Depot. The product has completely stopped working after just over 2.5 years of normal usage in a small household of 2 people. According to the repair representative, the controller has stopped working and needs to be replaced at a cost of more than $500 which would be more than the price paid. The product lasted less than a quarter of the expected lifespan of 12 years. A call to the company that owns Amana (Whirlpool) provided no reprieve such as a discount on a replacement purchase or credit towards other Whirlpool products.
Durable. Reliable. Gas with ignition burners. Purchased 1997 and still working. Has oven cleaning function which makes for easy cleaning. Amana is reasonable priced lower than many other ranges.
About a year ago, I purchased an Amana oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Granted, all three were on the economy end of the model spectrum. I have issues with all three. The oven door on after only 4 months started to bind opening and closing. Also, the plastic trim around the oven handle also is cracked and continues to get worse. I called Amana thinking I could get it repaired within the 1 yr. warranty. I was told that the oven door repair is not covered because it does not affect the functionality of the appliance. Really? I think the door has quite a bit to do with the functionality of an oven. Regarding the microwave, the door, also cracking off the plastic trim around the window part of the door. Thirdly, the dishwasher upper rack keeps falling off the track because end bracket on the left side often comes unsnapped. These design (or should I say misdesigned) elements of Amana products should not be occurring. Especially after only a few months of use. Oh, by the way, after my 1 yr. warranty expired a couple months ago, I received a card offering to extend my warranty. You have to be kidding! I have sold my home and I will not have to be living with these inferior Amana appliances for long. I will never purchase an Amana appliance ever again. I used to think made in America meant something.
We have had our Amana refrigerator for over 26 years and it is still going strong. I have always been pleased with its performance and will be sorry when I have to replace it. They dont make them to last anymore.
We purchased this washer on 11/11/10 because my washer finally let go after 18 years of wonderful service. I have had A&E at my house 6 times to fix this washer the main problem was it was chewing up and shredding my clothes and leaking then the seal around the door would come off that has been replaced multiple times. The mother board and transmission also have been replaced. Now 15 months after I purchased this machine and 6 visits later, it has happened again. The machine has ruined my daughter’s brand new coat along with my postal uniform. I have finally become angry so I call up my extended warranty (thought it was a good idea to get an extra 4 years of coverage just in case). The woman I spoke to was very nice and actually tried to get me a brand new washer but because I only used the extended warranty once, I have to give them another chance to fix it before she can do that. So she scheduled me an appointment with electronic services. The gentleman calls me and asked me what was going on with the washer. I give him all the details and he tells me it is an ongoing problem with that model and they made a replacement part for the one that has been broken so he went and ordered it. The next morning, he called me just a surprised as I am to tell me that the warranty department has denied the claim. Wow! So I call back Home Depot warranty dept and tell her what is happening now. So as of right now, it’s a waiting game. She is calling corporate to see what they can do for me. So hopefully Home Depot does the right thing and stands by their sale since Amana was nothing but nasty to me and very unhelpful through this whole thing. My next step is contacting an attorney and finding other who has received the same outcome because then we can go after Amana full force.
I recently bought a new home where the appliances were part of the package. They were all brand new so I figured that all was well. I bought liquid fabric softener to put in my rinse cycle, but I ALWAYS kept missing that cycle. I finally sat upstairs next to my laundry room and waited and listened. My washer NEVER fills up with water for the rinse cycle. My clothes have been having soap residue on them for months! This is BS! Plus, the lid always locks so that you can NEVER see how the machine actually washes your clothes. After realizing that my washer never rinsed my clothes I got online to see what other complaints I could read about this company and Im not the only person who said that their clothes never rinse. What sense does this make??? A washer that doesnt rinse??? This company should be ashamed of themselves. Now every time I wash my clothes I have to go upstairs and do a separate rinse cycle. How stupid is that?
Amana Top Load Washer W10740545A; W10740546A - This washer was purchased from Albert Lee Appliances, Bellevue, WA, on 3/31/2015 and installed on 4/7/2015. It failed to operate for the first time on 8/5/2015. Once the appliance is installed, the customers are on their own and Albert Lee turns over repair to a company named Appliance Hospital, Seattle, WA. It does not seem like a good business decision to not also be responsible for repair for how can they gauge what products reliably serve their customers? An Appliance Hospital technician arrived on 8/7/2015, pressed the same start button that we had been engaging and the washer worked. He left with the promise that a new controller would be ordered -- not received or installed as of this date. Thus, it appears that we are involved with an intermittent failure. This does not translate to reliability concerns on the part of Albert Lee Appliances, Appliance Hospital and especially Amana-Whirlpool. Apparently, none of these businesses are concerned with the stocking of an appropriate number of repair parts locally. I would recommend that other buyers not consider doing business with the above.
The Amana is an 18.5 cu.ft refrigerator. Its a year old and works well. I bought it for two reasons: a) a Bottom freezer and the height being less than 65 inches to fit under cupboards. It works well so far. Not noisy to disturb ones concentration. This would be my third fridge in 43 years. Im not hard on them.
I purchased this Amana washer in March 23, 2015. In February 27, 2016, this problem occurred: I turn on the washer, but as soon as the wash fill ups with water, it does not move to wash and it does not lock to start the wash cycle. The water drains and then I have to start the wash all over again. So I thought it was the lid switch, and my solution was to push down on the lid hard enough until I heard a click sound. This worked for several months. Another problem occurred on August 12, 2016: my load would complete the cycle, but when I open the lid, I clearly see that the clothes are soaked so this means that during the drain/spin cycle, the speed was too slow to fully squeeze out all of the water from the clothes. So my next solution was to start the drain/spin cycle only, but again. With all these problems that keep coming up, we decided to use our warranty, so we called in to have the washer repaired. We called HHGregg to repair the washer, and we gave all the detailed information as to the problems and the possible fixes to it. Their representatives solution was to replace the washer because they deemed the necessary repairs to the washer as costing more than the value of the washer. Well, we were shocked, because this washer is only 18 months old, so how could its value decrease so quickly in under 2 years? I researched and found that the drain/spin and lid switch is a very common problem with Amana washers. So we understood that we got what we paid for. So back to the washer replacement with HHGregg. They shipped us a new washer for around the same price of our old purchase.Again, we purchased the first washer in March (we got a St. Patricks Day Sale Price), and now were getting this new washer that is smaller and still is an Amana. HHGregg refuses to repair it, they would rather give us a washer that is smaller in capacity and would most likely last for a year but no more than 2 yrs. In a nutshell, we were screwed over by HHGregg, because they saved on repair costs, and gave us a washer of lesser value than what we originally started with. Oh ya, we had to pay on taxes, obviously, so they profited from that too. AMANA WASHERS ARE TERRIBLE!!! Save your money and purchase a more reliable washer!!!
I was given an expensive (about $300/$400) Amana microwave last year. One year and one day exactly, it just quit. It wouldnt work, nothing. My daughter called the repair and they said theyd send out a repairman. He called to confirm the appointment and the first words were, Will this be credit, check or cash? I called the Amana company and they told me the cost would be $129 for the man to come to the house and diagnose the problem. Anything else would be extra as the warranty had expired (one day before the machine stopped working). For less than the service call, we got another brand of microwave that works just as well. If it goes out in a year, it will still be cheaper than anything Amana offers. To top this whole mess off, yesterday, about a month after the equipment failure, I got a standard form letter from Amana urging me to buy an extended warranty and the basic one year was about $60. This would have done me no good as the microwave was already broken and out of warranty. I sent a letter last night to the Amana customer service. I got another canned reply today about how good the warranty was and how sorry they were, but they couldnt apply any warranty to the old one because it had lapsed. This is an outrageous example of the planned obsolescence now in use. Amana used to be a top company up there with Maytag. My first microwave was an Amana Radarange. I bought it when they first came out and it lasted about 10 years. Now, this piece of junk that was expensive to begin with only lasted one year and one day. Amana should offer a complete refund to customers that have these problems. Ill never buy Amana again. And since Amana is now owned by Whirlpool/Maytag, Ill probably never buy them again either. How sad that American quality has gone down the drain just so the big companies can get richer at our expense.
Our 7 year old Amana Bottom mount fridge started making the sound of death-- the start overload /relay clicking every 3 minutes and the compressor not running. I tried replacing the start overload/relay just in case that would fix it. It did for a week and now the fridge is dead. Testing the compressor leads shows the compressor is dead. Replacement cost of a compressor here is $500 parts plus $350 labor. I am told by service technicians that the compressors in not just Amana but most all current energy efficient fridges are conking out on average between year 7 and 10. So those of you wanting to save money and save the planet should rethink scrapping your older fridge to be green and save energy because you are going to end up paying less in electricity costs but lots more in financing costs on $1,000 fridges that last 7-10 years. Plus you will be filling up the pockets of appliance salespeople with your money while filling up the scrap yards with all those dead but energy efficient fridges. Maybe they can recycle the metal into toys to sell offshore?I saved an estimated $50 a year in electricity by using a new energy efficient fridge. I paid $1,000 in 2004 buying the first fridge and now 7 years later, I pay another $1,000 for fridge #2. Repeat as required every 7 to 10 years. Fortunately, I was home when the fridge conked out so I could move, beginning to thaw, frozen food to my 1960 vintage chest freezer which continues to hum along. Just think what fun it would have been if the fridge conked out while I was away on a 2 week holiday? Conclusion, bend over and take it as no current manufacturer makes a fridge that lasts like the old ones did.
We bought an Amana Dishwasher (division of Whirlpool) Model ADB1400PYW in March of 2014. This is just to let consumers know that they should check to make sure new parts are in a new appliance. In February of 2016 we had to replace the control panel board because it was not completing a full cycle and the Clean Light would blink. We did the troubleshooting first before calling our repairman. When he removed the old control board he noticed something odd. He showed me and my husband a little sticker on the part. It said RECONDITIONED. Why was a reconditioned part in a new appliance? No wonder it broke down after not even two years of use. I called Whirlpool and they had no explanation and of course could not offer me any reimbursement because we put a replacement in. Whatever. So beware when buying an Amana appliance or any Whirlpool for that matter.
Amana has more than met my expectation, in function and in appearance. I have enjoyed the bottom freezer. The only exception is the quality of the handle, broke within two years.
Amana Washer NTW4600YQ1 (2013 Model) - This washer only last 2 years after normal usage. Gear assembly broke down. I dont want to take a risk replacing the parts cause other parts might break. I will not buy Amana washer or their products. Not a reliable brand.
I have wanted a 2-stage HP for years so when our 22yo 10SEER AC was nearing EOL, we jumped at the opportunity for a high-performance unit. My expectations have been exceeded: We love the dehumidification feature, the ECM air handler is able to reach the furthest corners of our house, I have to go outside to check if the condenser is running sometimes even though the unit is right outside our kitchen window, and the heat pump uses ~1kW less electricity while in the 2nd stage than our old unit. ComfortNet/Bridge took some learning but if you have patience and like to read then you'll be tuning your system in no time. Honestly, I ended up going back to many of the defaults because the whole setup is already quite efficient. We recently had a few <50F mornings so I have also been able to test the heat in action and am now looking forward to a cold winter to really stretch the system's legs!
I have had a new top load HE washer now for just a few months and I regret I ever bought them. List of problems: (1) This will be the 3rd service call in just a few months. (2) NO SOFTENER DISPENSER, what rocket scientist would design a washer without a softener dispenser??? Its not like it would cost anymore to the company! You have to either stop the machine right when it’s filling up for a rinse cycle or...buy a softener ball which stains clothes and does an ineffective job at best! (3) My electric bill has not dropped one penny, do not tell me that these machines are more efficient, thats just politics, so that congress can say they are being more environmentally safe! HE (high efficiency) is not true!!!(4) The washer does a terrible job of cleaning clothes. It does NOT agitate properly, it just winds back and forth a little and makes a weird little noise. My old washer (Kenmore) was a superior product and I wish I had never got rid of it... If you own an Amana top load, just wash your clothes in deep water, so they at least wash better. (5) This is our 3rd service call as I said in the beginning in just a few months, the first 2 service calls were with the dryer and this one is for the washer. The motherboard is bad in the head of the unit. Buyer beware, these are not old time washers that you could open up any time or adjust water levels during the operation or just open up anytime you wanted to add clothes or more soap... No... These are very sensitive electronics that have issues when the washer process is disturbed in any way!!!(6) This is the way you have to treat these washer, pay attention... Open up lid, add soap, put clothes or whatever your washing on sticky soap. Add softener ball if you (unknowingly) bought a washer without a softening dispenser. That was us... Never buy from ad in paper, go see it, who knew washers are now made WITHOUT softener Dispensers!!! Then close lid and set settings from left to right and hit start program button. The reason I said program button (Start) is because these junk washers are now like cyborgs, part computer with junk electronic boards as electronics to control functions and operations of a washer which are just basic. After you do that, do NOT disturb in any way! Otherwise YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS AND REGRET YOU EVER BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Resetting only works so many times when it does have problems. I bought this from a local vendor through a sale paper ad. The vendor is not the problem, this is a Amana Corporate issue. Shame on you Amana, I will never buy a Amana product again... Trying to reinvent the wheel?
The lint trap was not working. It’s the water levels were not filling up. Another hot water is this going into the machine and don’t know why. It’s only four months old and I think our guarantee is over.
Installed Amana in new home in 2013 and have had to replace air handler twice, so I am on my third in six years. Warranty fortunately covered leak in coil twice, but the labor has cost me thousands of dollars. Since the handler is obviously a defect by Amana- I wrote a nice letter asking for some relief on the labor explaining the situation. Never heard back and obviously they dont care-even if they told me no. I rarely write reviews, theyre lucky to get one star. Would look seriously at another company.
This is our second Amana microwave. We have owned it for 20 plus years had it for 20 years & works great. Would recommend it and buy another anytime. Thats enough for me, I give it all fives or tens, terrific!
Two Amana heat pumps here; one has had ongoing problems. When the dealer ordered a replacement part (circuit board), the wrong version was shipped from the warehouse. Trying to get this problem solved ASAP, I contacted Amana via their FB page and asked them to expedite the shipment of the new board. They told me that they dont provide CS for this product, that I should contact the actual manufacturer, Goodman. I was already aware the Goodman was the manufacturer, but have never before heard of a company selling a product under their logo that does not provide at least front-line customer support for it. What possible meaning can the Amana brand have in this case, and why on earth would I ever buy another product from them?
I will never buy an Amana product again. We purchased an Amana gas stove three years ago. I cleaned it one year after we got it and the glass in the door looked like something leaked inside. I called about it and they stated that the seal came loose and there was nothing they could do about it. We could replace it for some ridiculous price. Now, we are having trouble with the glass because it gets moisture in there and there is mold growing. Again, we have to pay to have it fixed. When you pay over $500.00 for an appliance, I expect to have some type of warranty. Needless to say, we need to get a new door, instead, we are getting a new stove and not an Amana. Another complaint I have is that the burners do not clean up nice like they say they do. I hate this stove! I would not have even given it 1 star but you had to. It would have no stars marked if it was up to me.
Do not buy Amana!! Purchased a washer and dryer on 5/24/16. Washer will not drain but is full of water. They want me to sit at home on a Thursday (NEXT WEEK), today is Monday, until a repairman shows up. No idea when. Just wants me to wait. Informed them I will have the washer, water supply and a cord to plug into outside because they arent entering my house. I am an independent driver for people needing rides to Dr, Grocery and so on. I did inform them I could wait but a $20.00 an hour fee will be charged. Ill let you know what happens if I can.
I have Amana Washer in my apartment. When I first used it I noticed my clothes werent clean so I did some research to make sure I was using the right detergent. I was using the right detergent. No water ever entered the washer. It only sprinkled the clothes with water. I had to rewash the clothes by hand to get them clean. This has gone on over a year. Management claim that they called a licensed Amana dealer. I took pictures and sent them to Amana and to the apartment managers. The apartment managers have even came out and have been aware of the machine not working. We had an outage in December and the machine now makes a terrible noise. So the guy that cleans the yard came and unplugged it. After a year of not working properly and never being fixed and now they want me to replace machine that was already damaged. The guy that works here claims he cant remember it not working. This guy stood there and actually lied. If you look at the pictures there is very little water. You have to have water to wash clothes. These were taken in January 2015.
We bought an Amana oven from Home Depot in July 2010. We did not purchase the extended warranty package. You would think when you buy an appliance that you would get, at least, five plus years out of it. Well, in September 2011, our oven stopped working. We had the gas company come to check out the gas that we smelled. He said that the fire ignition is no good. So, we are two months past the warranty and this oven needs to be repaired. Needless to say, we are not happy and the gas representative said that he would never get an Amana oven. The consequences are that we have to pay someone to fix this and it will probably cost about $250. Does Amana make these to break down on purpose after the warranty period ends? Seems like an incredible coincidence to me. We may just get a new oven at this point and it will not be an Amana. When you purchase an item like this, you should have the confidence that it will give you a decent amount of time and 14 months is not acceptable.
Works exactly like an oven should. No problems so far. Has good features and we use it every single day. Easy to clean and easy to use. Doesnt take forever to heat up and maintains heat as it should. The stovetop is also easy to clean and heats up very quickly even though it is electric.
If you must buy an Amana product, get an extended warranty and keep extending it for as long as you can. Unlike the folks who make these Amana products, the Assurant Solutions service protection people are a standup group. Its clear from just a little research that this product (Amana ACS3350AS) had design and manufacturing flaws from the start, including oven and broiler igniters that dont last more than a couple of years. Unsafe overheating of exterior oven surfaces. A poorly placed computer control unit that overheats with the rest of the oven. Since they stopped making the computer, less than six years after we purchased the thing, its dead. Amana argues that the California state obligation that parts be made for seven years does not apply in this case. They consider it seven years from the date of manufacture and not purchase or it seems like they are saying we didnt buy it when we bought it. Run from these people if you have a choice. The warranty company (Assurant) is paying $720.00 for the oven we spent $1,000.00 in 2006. I believe I spent $200.00 on extended warranty until 2014. No money on five repair visits. You do the math. Please keep in mind this is the same corporation that owns Whirlpool, Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Consul, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Gladiator. Collecting brands, not customers. Consider the service youll get.
I just bought a Amana top loader washer a few weeks. So far it is doing a great job. Two years ago I spent over $2000.00 on a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. After two years the washer started to sound like a jetliner taking off. I called Maytag and it would cost over $400.00 to repair. I did a lot of research on this and found that most the washer do this. I think Maytag should do a recall on them due to a default in the design of the washer. Until then I will stick with the Amana which is made by the same company. How funny.
6/4/2015 - The lid on my less-than-2-month-old Amana washer breaks, and I call customer service. The rep is extremely apologetic and tells me someone will be out on 6/9/2015 to fix it and that they will call the day prior to confirm. 6/8/2015 - Sadly, no call is ever received. 6/9/2015 - I call the service company to inquire as to whether anyone is coming to look at my washer. Their response was, Nope, we were given the wrong phone number by Amana, so when we couldnt reach you, we had to cancel. I then call Amana back, confirm that they do in fact have the wrong phone number, correct that issue (or so I thought) and try to get another appointment scheduled. After two hours of stubborn resistance, I manage to get an appointment scheduled for 6/10/2015.6/10/2015 - Repairman looks at my washer, and after five minutes, pinpoints the issue and tells me hes going to need to order a part. He then says that he should have no trouble getting the part by 6/12/2015. 6/12/2015 - The day comes and goes without incident. 6/15/2015 - I call the service repair company who tells me that the part is on back order and wont be available until at least 6/30/2015. Later, I call Amana yet again, correct my phone number for the second time (see, I was getting back to that) and try to see if theres another resolution. The customer service rep I am speaking with tells me, it is what it is, and that this is the best she can do. I ask to speak to her supervisor, who I am then transferred to, who tells me that he, in fact, cannot do anything to help expedite the process either, but that someone might be calling me in 3-5 business days to let me know about the part.At this point I ask, So youve made a defective product, incorrectly recorded my information at least twice, caused me to miss one service appointment due to negligence and have yet to accept any responsibility for the situation at hand... How is this an acceptable resolution? After a pause, he says,so yeah, in like three to five business days, someone might be calling you about that part... Dumbfounded, I hung up and rage-devoured a cheeseburger to help me cope with my lack of progress, ironically spilling ketchup on my pants in the process. I might be able to at least attempt to get the stain out in somewhere around 3-5 business days.
Stay away from Amana!!! Would like to give 0 stars. I work in a hotel and had ordered 5 PTAC units for some of the hotel rooms through a vendor/supplier we deal with. Each of the units came in boxes that were in relatively good shape. When the boxes were opened every yes every unit was damaged one way or another. On every one the condenser support brackets were bent and not attached to where they need to be, bent corners on 3 out of 5, compressor bolts on one unit was cross threaded and stripped, another unit had the compressor bolts and rubber bushings in the pan but the compressor was not bolted to the pan, and lastly a brand new unit that would not turn on (tried in other outlets to no avail). We had another Amana that was approximately 2 weeks old and the unit stopped working. Called Amana and waited 3 weeks for a tech to come and give us a reconditioned unit. Their box states American Pride. Shame on them.
Amana microwave brand new lasted 17 months. Cheaper to replace than have it fixed - labor and parts service call. Amana dishwasher brand new had it four years. First issue was the clasp on door. When you close it it broke. Second issue water did not drain out and no power. Fuse need to be replaced plus the mother board needed to be replaced. Labor parts and service call cheaper to replace. Last appliance gas oven. When you turned oven on to preheat it would never reach the desired temp. I would turn oven off and turn it back on and temp. would be what I had set it at. The.problem was the.panel at the top of oven where the clock and temp settings are that needed to be replaced. Same thing with parts, labor and service call. I feel like the quality of the.product was poor. When we bought our home in March 2011 the home had been remodeled and the appliances were new and still had the tape on them. We have had to replace all the appliances and the new appliances are not Amana. Thank you.
My fridge is seven and a half years old. It is an SS Amana side-by-side. About three years ago, so it was five years old at the time, the fridge stopped cooling. And when the repair man came, out the freezer coils were all frosted up. At this time, he replaced the defrost timer but said he did not feel comfortable that that was it. That was in June. In November, it happened again. We replaced it yet again. Well, it now happened at least every three to four months. Sometimes we can reset the timer and it will work for a while again. I have read all the reviews and they are so numerous I cannot even read them all. Obviously, something with this product is extremely faulty. I have asked them to come out and get to the root cause of the problem, and they insist on charging me just for the service call. Thats not to mention the part cost. I really wish I could afford a new fridge because this one is a real pain in the neck. I’m so frustrated. I will never ever buy an Amana product again.
When there were manual controls, you could set a machine to do what you want and leave, knowing the wash cycle that you selected, regardless of your reasons, would do what you asked and come back knowing it was done. With the electronic controls, I must fight with the stupid machine to get it to rinse or spin as needed, fill as required, or whatever (wash really dirty gardening clothes well or wash hockey equipment). The automatic settings get it wrong regularly. Very frustrating.
Bought a new Amana washer/dryer in November 2018. Used it for 2 months and it quit working. Faulty motor had to be replaced. Very poor quality. We woulddefinitely never purchase another Amana product.
I have been using this dishwasher for about 2 months. My last 2 were the more expensive stainless steel tub type...they were 4x the price and lasted less than 3 yrs each, so we decided to go with a less expensive dishwasher. I am happy with the decision so far. The soap works just fine in this one, but in my last one I had to alter the soap and add borax...this cleans with the regular stuff quite well.
Have gone thru 4 repairs for the main board and temp probe in one year. For Amana aer6303mfs1 model glass top range. Now its out of warranty and its messing up again. Gives an f3 o3 error code and the oven wont go above 275 degrees. Will never buy from them again. Bought at Home Depot.
I used to work for Raytheon and have used Amana products for years with great success... Last Amana fridge was bought in 1995... had to replace this year so I now have a new Amana fridge and I only use Amana microwaves. Same good quality.
I bought a new Amana washer in Feb 2014 at ABC warehouse. I had call the service tech out to my house 3 times. The last time I call bbb. ABC replace it with another Amana - I receive that one in 10/14. On 12/7/14 the machine stop washing.
Purchased a microwave on 11/28. Had it installed on 11/29. Does not work. They would not replace. I was told I had to go through their process to order parts. Today is 12/21. Service guy came out and cannot fix. Now I have to wait for their process again for them to replace. This is terrible. Christmas is in 4 days and Ill have been a month without a microwave.
French doors are great. The cover over the meat keeper broke and can’t be repaired or replaced. Freezer is nice, but I struggle to find anything in it, however the two sliding drawers are nice. Great ice maker, keeps up easily.
I love the bottom freezer that is huge! The door also has various compartments of different sizes that stores a lot of easy to find foods. I needed a small space, but even though it is not a wide size, it holds a lot of food.
I purchased a Amana refrigerator stainless steel on December 14/2015. Two weeks after use stopped to work. I called to Flamingo repairs as recommended by the factory. They ask two weeks to come and see. When the technician came he said the compressor is death and we have to wait two more weeks to arrival of the new compressor. Ok fixed. But two more weeks later stopped again. I called again the Flamingo repair and they did the same procedure. After a lot of stress because many food lost they finally fixed. But two weeks later stopped again. So far Im waiting the technician to come again and fix it. Im very unhappy. I realize that I bought a garbage, waste of money. Each time that stop about Us 200,00 in a garbage. A lot of stress. Three months and just 4 weeks with refrigerator. Please do not buy Amana!
Finally decided to replace freezer door gasket as its cracked; dug through my receipts and was surprised that we purchased it new, in 1992. Around the time that free trade started, so ordered it from USA through Buffalo, delivered to my front door and uncrated. I dont think there are too many appliances that run 28 years and going strong without a problem. Replacing the gasket is an easy fix.
I purchased an Amana Washer and Dryer 4 months ago and just now moving into my house. I connected it it worked well on first wash. Now it wont spin, drain, had to unplug because it stopped in middle of wash. The sensor lights wont come on just to have a washer full of wet clothes. We tried to turn on now washer wont work. We wasted 800.00 on this set just to have to go somewhere else and purchase another set. This is ridiculous and upsetting. I am going public with our local news station for selling this mess. It was purchased at Handy TV Appliance in Centerpoint Al ( Birmingham).
I bought an Amana dishwasher model ADB1500AWW3 in early 2011 from Home Depot. I had originally chosen another brand, but the sales clerk told me that the Amana would last longer than the one I had chosen. What she did not tell me was that the control panel would not last one year. A couple of cycles, it stopped working early on, but being I didnt use those much I thought I would see what happened. Then it stopped working altogether. I called Home Depot and was told that being it was over one year they could not do anything about it. I will never waste my money on Amana products again.
I have an Amana glass top range and an Amana microwave.. Both appliances the doors have fallen apart in the first two years that Ive owned them. The microwave was manufactured August of 2012. Just after the one year warranty expired the overhead light burned out. After that weve replaced it 4 times this year. The door is literally cracking apart. The range door glass has been falling out and will hit you in the legs if you close it wrong. I am sure that Amana is aware of the problems. They will not stand behind their product.
We have used this microwave oven for more than 14 years and still works. It is not very powerful like the new models, but it does the job for us. It is very easy to operate and clean. It is big enough but very heavy.
Bought this refrigerator when we moved into our new home in 1988! Its still working very well and has caused us no trouble over the years. I dont think todays refrigerators can match this one as far as service is concerned.
I bought an Amana frontloader (Model #NFW7200TW) 4 years ago at Home Depot. Machine stopped draining and started showing error code (nd = not draining). I called a repairman, and he diagnosed the problem as a bad relay for the pump. He said because the relay was encased in resin on the back of the control panel, I would have to buy a new panel. Later, when he called me to give the part number, he said that the part was on a nationwide backorder and would be $400.00 when it became available on 10/15. I did some checking online and found that the part W10273828 is in fact on back order and no one has one. It seems that this means that this part is a definite weak link, and this model should be recalled. On this site, there are several posts with the same problem.
I called in to purchase 2 grease filters and a charcoal filter with a light bulb for my confection oven and they no longer support their products. I have model ACo1180AB which is ten years old this year. When they discontinue their items after 12 months they no longer have to support the items they have sold in the past. As a consumer this is unacceptable. Do not use your hard earned money to support this type of company. This is the same as if you purchased a brand new car and your front head lights are no longer working and you call in to request parts for your car so you can drive it on the road but find they no longer have those headlights so you can not use it any longer. The unit works but you can not use it because they do not support their product because they discontinued the manufacture of those items..
My washer has pre-set programmed settings for the water level! My clothes barely get wet and the washer stops adding water and starts washing! I bought the washer approximately 4 years ago! It is almost useless! I have to add water by hand and I wash certain items twice! My washer leaks periodically as well. Had repairman come and he told me I had to tell him where it was leaking from to be FIXED. So we couldnt get it to leak while he was here so it was never fixed and still leaks! He also said there is no way to change the pre-set water levels! Thank God my washer is in the garage or my house would have been flooded dozens of times! Jax, Fl D.
I bought an Amana gas dryer less than a year ago, the paint on the inside started peeling off and messing up our clothes. So I get a hold of customer service and they tell me it dont cover anything after 30 days!!! Are you kidding me 400 dollar piece of scrap metal... stay far away from this brand - they do not support their product!!
Dryer spews lint out from around the lint trap door. It has since we bought it and has progressively gotten worse. The lint trap door is on the top of the dryer. Whole house ends with a layer of dust every time laundry is done. Laundry room gets a nice layer of lint in it as well. Since this is a gas dryer, I have concerns about this being a fire hazard. Didnt fully appreciate the quantity of lint being spewed until after warrant was expired. Didnt contact company due to this, but it has been this way since it was delivered, just has gotten worse.
The size was perfect and the delivery guys (after many postponements) were clean, neat and efficient and I used it the next night and was delighted with the results!
Purchased a new refrigerator that didnt work from day one. After visits from two different repairmen, we are now required to transport the fridge to the next town over so that the compressor can be replaced. After several months of dealing with their help line, I feel that it is ludicrous that we are still without a fridge and are required to arrange for this transportation ourselves. This is in a rental unit that we are unable to rent out because of no fridge. We will now be forced to purchase a new fridge because who knows how long this repair will take. I guarantee it will not say Amana or any related product name on it. GE is looking pretty good. As a side point, we have purchased at least 60 appliances from them in the last year and they still arent willing to go to do anything else for us. Cant imagine the average consumer getting any kind of relief from them.
I have an Amana Radarange microwave (model AMC5101AAW). I am very happy with the overall ease of use. However, I noticed lately that the inside top had a few bubbles forming. The other day when I was wiping it clean almost, the whole white paint on top of the inside peeled off. The bottom and sides are fine. I just dont like the idea of the possibility of flakes of paint coming off in the food - or more of the paint peeling off the sides. What are the possibilities of something else happening with no paint covering the metal? I have young grandchildren and dont want something happening with them because of the paint peeling. I dont know what can be done because of this. I believe I had paid about $150 or $175 for it. I would like an answer about what to do with it. Thank you.
We bought the most recommended fridge (Consumer Reports) the Amana Model AFF2534FEW 1 (or maybe 11... the Amana people cant quite figure out what the model number is... check it out). After very little use the fridge stopped working. Diagnosis... bad thermostat... blocking the coils. Thermostat replaced. A year later (and more ruined food) same problem... Again the thermostat was replaced. And guess what... it happened again. Third time... dont even bother asking the Amana group for help. They cannot even figure out the correct model number and they are not interested in helping in any way. This product and the company are not worthy of your hard earned money. I will NEVER purchase Amana again.
Purchased an Amana top loading washing machine in December 2018 from Home Depot. It worked well for about a year. Then after that the issues began. Stopped cleaning clothes completely, leaving them soaked and dirty. Began making horrible loud sounds constantly, it would get stuck on certain cycles and not complete others, it stopped agitating clothes all together. The control panel was completely out of whack by August 2020 and basically beyond repair (per more than one repairman). It stopped functioning altogether by December 2020, which is exactly 2 years after the original purchase date. So I was then forced to purchase yet another washing machine (not Amana). Amana washing machines are a total waste of money and they do not last!!! I regret purchasing one big time...I learned the hard way how poor quality they really are. Do not buy.
Amazing furnace! Got some sweet upgrades like UV light to clean the air and WiFi connectivity so I can control the system from where ever we are. It’s been night and day difference this summer compared to last summer on the ease of keeping our home cool! We love our Amana furnace!
I just recently purchased an Amana Top Load washer and so far am happy with it which is why I am writing this review. People generally only write reviews when they do not like a product or service and its misleading when you only read a few negative reviews. A lot of people complain about the controls but didnt you look at these things at store before your purchase? Obviously not and now want to complain?
I was coming down the stairs to get my son a bottle at 6:00 AM and heard a strange noise. As I walked into the living room, it was filled with a foul smelling smoke. I yelled and woke up my father who came running down the stairs. My father unplugged the fridge from the wall and put the fire out. Our slate flooring is burnt, and my son and I had mild smoke inhalation. It has been over a month and we are waiting for parts to cover the repair or they will give us $200 for a new fridge. Our fridge was older but, just like most everyone else, it was the compressor that failed. I think Amana needs to recall their refrigerators and come up with a new design.
Our old heat pump died and we needed a new one. I did a great deal of research and we chose this Amana model as the best value as it had a great price and great quality.
I bought this washer so I could do large quilts. But I was told now that this new Amana HE large capacity washer without center agitator has a water limit of around 17 gallons so if you want to wash a large load or quilt, think again. Im attaching a hose because I have a laundry tub and adding water. If you dont have a tub, you may want to find a machine that has something called large load or something. I set it on an extra rinse because you cant even see the water so how clean is that? Im talking about a half load. If you do small loads, you are still using more electricity and water, more work, more time, so were not saving anything, are we?
Our new oven came on time, installed easily and worked well. However, after its second self-clean cycle a round hole appeared in the finish of the floor of the oven. This hole is about one inch in diameter, with little cracks radiating outward from it. We called Amana, who sent a repairman to assess the issue. Subsequently, Amana shipped us a small tube of touch-up paint. This paint is a different colour than the ovens interior finish (black vs dark blue), stinks horribly for several days after application, and does not fill the hole even after three applications. A further call to Amana has yielded only the statement that there is nothing more they will do.By the way, the repair technician who came told us that its quite common for this kind of flaw to occur. Be advised, your nice looking appliance may start looking ugly soon after purchase, and youll be on your own! I have advised the appliance people at the local Home Depot to provide a warning to anyone wishing to buy an Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag or JennAir appliance.
Amana Refrigerator, Not Good After 6 Years: We purchased an Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, model#ABB2227DES, serial#10253964EP at Sears approximately 6 years ago. We have had numerous issues with the refrigerator starting just after the 12-month warranty ran out. At one point, I paid $300 for an extended warranty. I had to have more repairs on it and was told by several technicians that the compressor would be going and it won’t be worth paying for the repair (roughly 50% of the $1300 that we paid for the fridge). At this point, including the purchase and repairs of the refrigerator, we are over the $2000 mark. Again, the fridge just died and we have been told that the compressor is gone and it would not be worth it to fix unless Whirlpool agrees to pay the repairs. I would like Whirlpool to pay for the repairs of this refrigerator or provide a comparable refrigerator, or I will contact my own attorney in regard to this.
I have enjoyed the washer and dryer for the 8 years I have had them. The part that I am very unhappy with is the cost of the parts to fix the problems I have had; heating element that cheapest was one appliance store for $75 (rest online and other store was over $100), worked two times drying clothes then stopped working with going around. Told probably the belt, but again no belts around and had to be ordered, and also told from all appliance stores that old being $56 is higher than other dryers. The belt was not needed so not opened so will be seeing if I can have my money back for it. Told its either the door switch, that would be $25.99, or the board that would cost $200.80. Again, I enjoyed the way it was, but the cost to fix the problems is higher than buying a new one. Very unhappy to spend so much time and so much money along with being told having to order parts shows it is happening quite a lot from owners; annoying and unhappy.
I bought my washer and dryer in 2002 from Lowes. I got the Platinum Warranty. I just feel one should always get additional warranty on major purchases such as appliances. After12-13 years of having them, with VERY minor issues given the number of years I have had them, my dryer broke down beyond repair. My washing machine is still going strong though! Because of this I purchased another Amana dryer. I am very pleased with the durability of this product. When I bought the set in 2002 the salesman said they are the workhorse of washer and dryers. I can tell you after 13 years he was right! All I can find, right now, is my owners manual with the 2000 date.
I bought a washer and dryer in Irwin at Rosendahls. The first time I used it, it would not work on rinse. The motor would just hum. Called where I bought. Said out of his hands to call Amana. I did. They blamed it on water pressure which I thought was bs. Then I filled up with water with bucket. Then it still would not work on rinse. Called them again. They said they replaced some parts. Took 20 min and theyre gone. They never checked at any time when they said it was fixed. They never ran a cycle ever. I said if it works on wash theres something wrong. They just bide time till warranty runs out.Now Im on a fixed income. It took me 2 and a half years to save for the pair. Im just disgusted at the way I was treated and they dont care they got their money. I tried to add the water for rinse. It just drains out but I have always had to add water to wash because the clothes were always dry on the top. My clothes come out with detergent on then after its done because it never ever has rinsed. DO NOT BUY AMANA ESPECIALLY ONE WITH NO WATER SETTING ENERGY EFFICIENT ONES. THEY DO NOT WORK. Im stuck with it. I live in a trailer which is small and I go to Laundromat. Dryer works great again. DO NOT buy.
Bought an Amana Refrigerator AFI2359ERM00 Dec 2015 and it crapped out 4 months after the 1 year warranty expired. Imagine that. Glad I bought the extended warranty through Home Depot! LoL since April 2017 my fridge has quit working 5 times and totally defrosted and ruined 5 fridge full of food. Freds Appliance has been out 5 times to try to fix it and cant. It seems to break down every 3 weeks or so. Then after 2-3 days of clicking and buzzing it starts cooling again. Well the quickest they can get out is 4 days and by then its up and running and the tech says well I pushed a few buttons and cant find anything wrong. Amana/Whirlpool has washed their hands of it because of the extended warranty I bought through HD. HD wont replace it because they claim the SAME part has to be replaced 3 times before it is considered a lemon. Been in limbo since April and its so frustrating.Dont waste your money on Amana. Poor quality! Even worse customer service. Same with HD. Very robotic in their responses. They are all sorry Im having an issue, but wont take responsibility. Plus since the unit seems to break down when Im not at home and all of the ice from the hopper melts and runs down the front of the fridge all over the floor. Now it has ruined my hardwood floor all around the unit. What a POS.
Was purchasing my first washer & dryer and, quite frankly, looking for best value I could find. Bought Amana washer and dryer and while I dont do tons of laundry, they have both been great. Especially like that the washer has sensing to determine optimal water level. Only thing Im not crazy about, and this is nit-picking, there is no buzzer to indicate that a load is done.
On Sept 26, 2011, when the fridge part of my Amana Refrigerator, Model # ABL192ZFES, Serial # 10379497JX, was not cooling properly, I phoned Trail Appliance where I purchased the fridge. They gave me the number of W3 solutions, a contract service company at 1-866-913-1350, and I was given the Extended Warranty Order # G09264, claim # 95199095. The freezer was working fine at this time. A week later, a technician came and told me he needed to order parts to correct the problem. On Nov 7, 2011, a technician came and told me that he would replace the compressor and relay and that the fridge would work fine for many years to come. On Nov 8, 2011, I awoke to find my fridge and freezer not working at all and all the food in the freezer melted. I phoned the technician all day and left messages, on his answering machine, but there was no reply. On Nov 9, 2011 at 10am, I phoned W3 solutions at 1-866-913-1350 and let them know what was happening. The representative then issued a new work order and told me it would be10 days before anyone got back to me. I lost around $200 worth of food and phoned Trail Appliance to complain and try to recover the cost of the food I lost. They told me they could not cover the food cost and I should contact W3 Solutions. I am now without a fridge and not scheduled for an appointment with a technician until Nov 16, 2011.I stayed home all day on Tuesday Nov 15, 2011 but there was no phone call. On Wednesday Nov 16, 2011, at 11 am, I received a phone call from the technician. He told me he had been on a vacation to Hawaii for a week and had received a dispatch for service on my fridge the day before. He told me that the brand new compressor that he had installed on Nov 7, had completely seized up, and he would have to order a new one. I asked him how long that would take and he replied a few daysI am living on canned food at the moment, being without a working fridge or freezer. I made this clear to the technician and he said that this was the best he could do. Its not good enough! It is now 2 months since I initiated the service call and have struggled without a working fridge. There seems to be no accountability for the technicians doing the work, since the technician who installed the compressor and relay would not return my calls. If there is a problem after a technician leaves, the only option is to phone W3 Solutions to book another appointment with a technician to start the process all over again. Then if a technician has to order parts, you wait for the parts to come by snail mail to the technician and service can take months. It would seem that they are trying hard to wear the customer down so as to purchase a new appliance, and skip the service calls. This is ridiculous and I am not happy with Trail Appliance, Whirlpool or W3 Solutions who do contract service for Whirlpool. Its unacceptable!
I love my old Amana side by side, bought in 11/2001. But what I cant find in the new ones is the milk keeper with the door. That is the best part of the refrigerator. If I cant find that and after reading these reviews I will find a different brand.
I’ve had this dishwasher for over 8 years now and it’s very noisy. Also the interior is getting discoloured. It takes long for a normal cycle to come to a finish. Overall it does the job, but don’t run if youre trying to sleep.
Bought a Baking element for my stove. Over a month to receive. Call a service tech to install to find out that I did not need to replace it on my stove. I called Amana customer service to find out how to return the brand new part. I was told to send back in same box with a return authorization that would be emailed to me. I went to the post office and mailed per the instructions given to me but instead of it costing me the same $7.95 that Amana paid to ship to me, I was charged $29.15!!!! My entire refund is only $51.63 so half of my refund is being absorbed in returning because Amana will not provide a return label!!In the end my refund will equal half of the $47.00 price of the part alone???? When I called the parts department customer service they smugly advised, Well you have to return in our box but you could have shopped around for the best shipping rate???? This is a scam and why Amana/Whirlpool is going down in flames! Cheap shots like this to innocent customers who have been loyal to their brand for years. When you ask for a manager the customer service people lie to you and tell you they are the manager and no one else is there but them??? Does not sound like a manager????
Great price-for-product ratio. Very simple to operate dryer. Simple, fast, SAFE, delivery and set up. Installation was no more than a few minutes and they wore masks. Two guys carried it in then only 1 of them stayed to install; he was out of here in 10 minutes. Both were polite/friendly and great advice was given for remaining space availability of future washer installation. They called me :30 mins out from delivery and were on time. No fuss, no worries, great service! Thank you
We bought our Amana side by side in 1980 when we moved to our new house. I believe it is a 24.5 cubic feet. Durability...it is still working excellently and thats a sign of quality. Thats 30 years and still kicking. We never had any repair on it nor have any problem with the cooling system. The only one that gave up was the drinking water line after 15 years of drinking service to my family. Service that I have done was annually clean and vacuum the accumulated dust at the bottom of the refrigerator including clean the drain pan. Thats it. If I need to replace this old workhorse in my kitchen Ill purchase another Amana refrigerator. I shared our experience with our friends around and some of them bought this brand.
I purchased an Amana Washer and Dryer from McKinneys Appliance in September 2014. Sometimes it works - but more often it does not. It does not clean the clothes, but it does get them wet. I put a load in, press the start button, and it sits there - finally a ding and the door locks and the cycle goes directly to spin - and no water in the tub. The circuit board has been replaced twice - the repair lasts one month, and the problem comes back again. I contacted Amana and waited 6 weeks for a repair person from Appliance Repair - the company was in another city.
It has a bottom freezer which is easy to get to & arrange. Also with an automatic ice maker. The refrigerator shelves are glass so you aren't likely to "lose" items. Shelves in door are adjustable to fit any need. Everything comes out so it is easy to clean. Outside is also easy to clean & no streaking. I Love It!!!
This isnt a NEW model fridge. I purchased it back in 1991. Ive never had to repair it. It just keeps on running! Once, my daughter didnt close the door all the way, so the fridge ran constantly all night long and had quit running by the following morning. I unplugged it and let the motor cool down. When I restarted it, it ran like before and has been running since. It still looks good, not new, but presentable. Im holding off replacing it since Ive heard the newer fridges arent made to last. Its not as energy efficient as a new model, but, last I checked, its not an energy hog either.
ACF3325AB - Self cleaning mode turned on by itself and melted the entire inside of the door. Fumes were horrible. Had to air out my house in freezing temperatures with my 93 year old mother and 3 year old grandson in the house. They told us to disconnect everything and they will send a repairman out in 5 DAYS! Prior to this incident, the oven was turning off in the middle of cooking. This product should be recalled!
We have had our Amana Furnace and air conditioning for about a month. We have not needed the furnace so far, but the air conditioning has been beyond expectations. Coupled with the Ecobee thermostat, the system is much quieter than any HVAC system that we have ever had. The thermostat runs the fan every 15 minutes and the whole house comfortable.
