The ice machine built in to the door is awful. If you dont use it on a daily basis, the ice cubes freeze together and none will come out. This is a CONSTANT problem. I asked about it and was told it had been fixed. I feel I was lied to.

I called for service when I realized my freezer/refrigerator was failing and instead of having service immediately available which could have saved my perishables, it took over a week to get repairs. The repairs consisted of an inspection, ordering of parts and finally the actual repair. Meanwhile, hundreds of dollars worth of food all had to be thrown away. The loss of food compensation based on the size of my refrigerator (24.5 cu ft) was $150. Ridiculous. One health supplement alone was $40, not to mention the custom (and very expensive) food I was storing for my dog who is slowly dying from kidney disease. This was my second LG refrigerator and it will, unfortunately be my last. The bottom line is, forget the ratings on the bells and whistles for a new refrigerator—check out how long a refrigerator actually lasted and *then* make an informed decision.

I am so upset with LG Fridge and LG customer service. I bought my fridge in July 2011 and purchased 5 year extended warranty from HD. During that time we replaced compressor (June 2013). Today I had to pay $500 labor fee to replace a compressor again (the part it is still under 10 year warranty). I am devastated. I called LG and they were extremely nice repeated memorized sentences, when I was finally connected to a supervisor (20 minutes on hold). She was rude and impatient. Never had to deal with this kind of attitude. I would never buy anything from LG. I like class lawsuit idea. They should have a recall and waive charges related to replacing the same parts, obviously it is manufacturer poor quality.

I wanted to update my complaint. Because I could not get anywhere with hhgregg or Warrentech I put a complaint on Consumer Affairs and I am now satisfied because I got a call from a gal named Valerie and they are going to honor my warranty and replace my door on my refrigerator. I am sad it had to come to this and so was Valerie. But at least the whole thing is getting resolved. Thank you Valerie and hhgregg!

LG has dramatically lower reliability ratings in Consumer Reports than any other major brand. I owned an LG refrigerator that after eleven months and 25 days (five days before the warranty ran out) developed water leaks in two different areas and failed to chill in the cooler section. The company would not stand by the warranty. Executive customer service is a weasel nest, arrogant and totally non-responsive. Run from any retailer that handles LG.

I bought an LG Washing Machine in 2012. Its a top loader. The bleach compartment started rusting out in 2013. I dont even use very much bleach. I contacted LG last November and they told me I had to have a repair person validate it. It cost me an additional $105.99! Still nothing done. I sent proof of purchase and pictures. Still nothing done. I would not recommend LG to ANYONE! The matching dryer is not working right, doesnt completely dry the clothes. Please save yourself some time and money and do not purchase an LG.

Last Friday night at 6:00, I discovered that the food in my refrigerator was getting warm. The thermostat said 37 degrees in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer, but food was warm in the refrigerator and things in the freezer were melting. I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, Sorry, but we cant work on LG appliances. I asked, Why not? I was told, Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts. The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LGs policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR. Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.

Bought this top-of-the-line LG April 2013, 10 year linear compressor. Compressor died after a year and 4 months, they cover the part only which requires almost $500 in labor. Talking to LG, I believe takes you to a foreign country phone bank. They are no help at all. They kept asking when I bought it and I said, You have the information. I filled out the warranty card. They said, That doesnt go to us, and admitted that the warranty cards go to a third-party. In other words they sell the information obtained on the so-called warranty card. I finally found the receipt in my tax file, otherwise wouldve had no warranty at all. They covered about $380 in parts. $600 of food spoiled and all that labor on a new $3000 refrigerator.

We purchased an open box LG washing machine from Best Buy; first they changed the delivery date without notice; fast forward five months, this washing machine flooded our brand new house THREE TIMES. LG sent a technician out one week later because they only have limited amount of service for this area; the technician couldnt find the problem and after the third visit, and us videotaping the washing machine during the wash to see where the water was coming from, the technician said it was fixed. Well, we requested him to stay and watch and finally, he see the problem that LG never heard of. After one month, LG finally decide to issue a request to Best Buy to issue a refund since the washing machine was under warranty. After I go to Best Buy, I am told that their store policy is not to issue a credit back to the credit card, but to issue a store credit. In other words, they force you to purchase something from their store rather than shop at a store that has a better return policy. Warning: Dont EVER purchase a major item from Best Buy.

$3000 and 3 years old our fridge died just before the holidays. LG set up 2 appts with their technical support at A&E and neither appointment was honored. I have parts sitting here in my home; a compressor and dryer sent by LG for the technician. 2 days sitting home after canceling a long awaited doctor appt and other work related activities. There seems to be no end in sight and no way to contact upper management at LG in Huntsville, Alabama. They are hiding out there and taking no responsibility for their inferior product. WT1101C - I bought this LG top loading washer two years ago. It was great. It replaced a front loading washer that had always been a pain. I love the amount of water it used and how efficient it was. It is so big, it will wash my king size duvet cover. Now, not only is the washer constantly off balance, it will actually fill the washer almost to the top to wash clothes. Today, it spent four hours washing my sheets. As it is off balance, I constantly have to check it and at this point, restart it, to spin only in order for it to finish the wash. Even better, I can find only one repair company who will come out and they want $250 to look at it. So much for customer service. I thought it was bad to replace my last washer after 7 years. This is ridiculous. I would not recommend this washer at any price.

I purchased LG washing machine model #WT5101HW on 6-26-2011. In December, I realized that the hot/cold cycle was not hot. The water was really not even warm. I called LG and after speaking to numerous people, they agreed to send a tech out. On December 20, 2011, the tech arrived only to inform me that it was an ongoing problem and there was nothing he could do. It was the way LG designed the machine. On the hot cycle, it adds both hot and cold water so that is why it is not hot. I was furious! I called LG and they informed me that if I wanted to wash my clothes in hot water to use the sanitary cycle which is a 3 hour cycle or the bright whites cycle. My washing machine has an internal heater that is supposed to heat the water to 122 degrees on bright whites and 158 on sanitary. On my bright whites, it is only 90 degrees and not sure what it is on sanitary. LG is advertising that they have a hot cycle when in fact it is not hot and it makes no sense to add cold water to perfectly good hot water and then heat it back up! How is this energy efficient? I called LG again today and now I am being informed that the heater only works on sanitary and if I want hotter water on my cycles, I need to turn up my hot water heater. On page 7 on the instruction manual, it clearly says, the heater increases water temperature and provides better cleaning for sanitary and bright whites.” So, even LG is admitting hotter water cleans better! This machine is a complete joke. LG should not be able to advertise that this machine has a hot cycle when it fact it does not.

Bought 2 LG French door refrigerators in January 2017. Paid about 3 grand each. April 2019 1 of the fridges stopped cooling. Called LG. Repairman came out and said compressor not working. He returned a week later. Replaced compressor. 4 days later not cooling again. Everything melted, water on wood floors. He said motherboard not working. Waited 1 week with a broken fridge and motherboard replaced. 4 days later found water on ground again. Everything melted. Called again and said will change out compressor again. Need to wait 1 week again. 4 days later broken again which is tonight. This should be illegal. Are they going to do this for next couple of yrs until warranty is expired? In meantime we have to suffer with a broken fridge every week? Anyone with suggestions on how to approach? I wrote complaint to BBB also. Now we have to call LG tomorrow to get repairman out again. This will be 4th visit for same problem.

This washer goes off kilter on any load that doesnt have exactly the same weight items in it. You cant wash jeans and tee shirts or flannels, even if you balance the jeans. A small load of like items works ok, but not much else. Large loads never fully agitate. Only the bottom of the load gets moved. The washer spends more time rebalancing itself than washing. Many times I have had to remove half the load and rinse and spin a few items at a time. Dont buy this washer.

Our LG range was emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. After two weeks and first paying a $200 flat fee, an LG approved technician finally came and replaced some parts and fixed it. He said it likely a manufacturers defect but he cant say 100% which means that LG keeps their fee. In the meantime, Ive written two letters to LG (where it says they will reply within 24 hours) and gotten no response, spoken with two customer service managers who show no concern for the fact their appliance put my family in danger, and spent way too much time on hold on the telephone and online chat with very little to show for it. Their lack of customer service is appalling.

My wife complained to me since day one about the washer, but I didn’t listened. But on until I washed clothes I found out what she was talking about. The washer creates air pockets with shirts, bed sheets, and other clothing which cause some clothing not to get wet at all. Replacements knobs from LG similarly break within days or weeks due to the same defect. They have refused to issue a recall or even a bulletin despite thousands of complaints by consumers. I have started a petition calling for a recall on Change.org. You can also report this to the US consumer product safety commission: Saferproducts.gov.

Purchased an expensive french door refrigerator in 2015. In 2016 the motherboard went out and we were out of a refrigerator for 2 weeks. Was advised to purchase the extended warranty to lower the repair cost (to $300). Now, in 2017, the compressor is out and we are again without a fridge for a week and lost all our food. The kicker? The compressor is under a 10 year warranty but only for the $160 part. LG is still charging me $400 for labor. Its their flat fee for warranty work, regardless of how long it takes. They overcharge for the labor to cover the cost of all the parts they have to replace. This fridge has cost me ~$1,000 is service and lost food and its only 3 years old. Spoke with supervisor Donald and he was rude, interrupted me constantly, and flatly refused to provide any customer to lower the labor charge since Ive had so many problems with this fridge. He told me to call other techs and see what they would charge--I have. No one else will work on LG fridge compressors because they fail too often. Im filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sending a letter to the corporate office. I encourage everyone here who is a victim of LG to do the same. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. PO box 240007. Huntsville AL 35813.

So disappointed in this product and customer service! My husband and I built a house in 2017. Bought all of our appliances range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator all in a bundle from Lowe’s in Bedford, IN. So elated about having a new house with all new appliances! My elation quickly turned in to total frustration! Only after 14 months of use the compressor went out. Let me repeat that AFTER 14 MONTHS! After several phone calls to the store, the customer info center the Lowe’s Extended Protection number. No one I spoke with could give us the same answers to any of our questions. It took weeks to get a service rep to even look at it and when he finally arrives and determined the compressor was bad he had no replacement with him. Had to be ordered which took awhile to arrive, a few more weeks before they could come back to install the new one. Only after cancelling and having to reschedule that appointment in which I had to miss work to be available to let him in to service the refrigerator. A loaner was offered at one point in time but I was told that could take a week to deliver not knowing that the replacement part would not be available on the first visit I declined. Was also told by one representative that we could just replace the refrigerator then only to be told by another that was not the case. I wrote down all the names of every one I spoke with and even had each one send me our dictated conversation in e-mail. They would not stand by their word. Never could I get a manager on the phone. Was always told that Customer Service does not have one. Most call centers operate off of a 3 tier system so I found it hard to believe that one. It took a total of 12 weeks to have the issue fixed Missed days at work, food loss, all the phone calls and time spent talking on the phone and getting no real answers. Was told at one point we could use a local repair man and the Extended Protection Plan that we purchased would cover the cost only to be told by someone else that it would NOT and if we chose that route it would void the EPP all together. Could had it fixed in 2 days as opposed to 12 weeks. The whole reason I am writing this review today is because after going through all of this our freezer isn’t defrosting correctly and therefore the ice maker isn’t working, the food in the freezer is barely frozen. The temp is set on minus 4 but the thermometer has placed on the inside barely reads 32 degrees. Here we go again!!!! So disheartening to spend so much money that you work so hard for on a product and to be so disappointed by it and the customer service that you have to deal with. Model# LMX25964ST100, Serial# 008KRUC00694. I cannot get a repair technician or any replacement through manufacturer warranty. I bought it in 11-20-2010 and the freezer or ice make dont work but it runs constantly. So I have unplugged it after 6 days of straight running because I was afraid it would get too hot and catch on fire. Can someone tell me what I have to do to get it back since it has not been fixed and run so much? It is a Double-Door LG refrigerator and I have talked to LG customer service for a whole week and still cant get nothing done. I even contacted Home Depot where I bought it and an extended warranty, but they can do nothing because it is still under manufacturer warranty. WARNING!!!! I was cleaning out my refrigerator and cleaning the glass shelves. I washed the large glass shelf after it had sat on my counter for about 15-20 minutes. I used lukewarm water and soap. After washing it it, I was drying it with a paper towel and it EXPLODED! YES literally EXPLODED not just broke. Glass everywhere! I had glass in my hall way, Glass on my cook top, glass on my espresso machine, Shards embedded in my kitchen window frame. Luckily I had my glasses on because I had shards in my glasses! Could have been my eyes! Glass shards in my lip, my arm and in my hair. My sinks were filled with it and I even had it in my Island sink and Under my Island! I asked my neighbor to help me get it out of my hair and the tiny fragments off my face. I reported it to LG and they did not seem real concerned but asked me to send them photos. Sent photos of my cuts and my glasses and the huge mess this caused. LG called and said Id have to get a technician to come. Id have to pay for it but may qualify for reimbursement of tech fee. Unbelievable. Im still in shock and now scared to death to ever clean it again. This is very dangerous!

I purchased a new LG Range 1/12/20 and about 60 days later I was cooking some fries in the oven. I turned it up to 400 and as I was walking away the inside glass shattered into a million pieces. After cleaning up the mess I contacted Best Buy who put me in touch with LG. My complaint is not necessarily against the range but the customer service at LG. After being on hold for 1 hour and 10 minutes I was finally able to give her the information needed to get a service representative to contact me for service. She said I would be hearing from them soon to get an appointment set up. After not hearing from them in over a week I started calling again just to be on hold for over an hour the run around again. I purchased the LG gas convection range in Aug 2016. Its been a learning curve getting used to the gas convection oven mode, I previously had a dual fuel range, using electric convection (worked great). One of the reasons for purchase was the angled and higher control knobs, which I thought would take care of turning the knobs on accidentally. My 12 year old Kenmore Elite range exploded inside while on self cleaning cycle (glad I was home & in the kitchen when it happened). I turned on the knobs accidentally on the Kenmore often, hated that. So got the LG. Well I was still able to turn on the knobs by brushing against them, like others have stated. Definitely a design hazard. So I quickly went to Target and got the childproof knobs covers. I placed them on the 2 outside knobs on the right and left side burners. This left the middle knob uncovered on each side. The covers fit perfectly and NO MORE accidental turning on knobs. I can use all the controls without difficulty. Now the Easy Clean is a joke. It worked two times initially, since then it does nothing except pool water in my oven. The program is 10 minutes per the manual and timer on the range. I now see it says 20 minutes on the website, Hmmmm. At any rate when the cycle is done, the oven isnt warm and the water is COLD. So Im using the self clean mode, well see if it does better. I dont use my oven much. Otherwise, I am fairly happy so far, paid $1600 for the LG. I loved my Kenmore Elite and had no problems until the elements blew up inside & damaged the oven, out of warranty. I hope I get 12 years on this one, glad I purchased extended warranty for 5 years.

LG WT1101CW - Bought new just over 1 1/2 years. It worked fine for over a year and now it cannot complete a load without stopping because it is out of balance. Had a repairman check it out and he stated that LG said it needed the new update control board at a cost of over $500.00 before he could even diagnose problems. This is almost as much as a new machine. Obviously they are aware of a problem if the main control board is already being updated. The repairman said he could not guarantee that this would fix the problem. This machine is horrible. Contacted LG customer service and they could not diagnose using their phone diagnostic system. They stated they could give us a repair company name and stated the machine was out of warranty.

I purchased an over the range LG microwave from Home Depot. It was a reduced price display model, which I guess should have told me that it was a waste of money. Within a year, it stopped working four times (two of these times were within two days of each other). Since it was covered by the one year warranty, it didnt cost me anything, but it was frustrating to be without a microwave while waiting for it to be serviced. THEN... after the warranty expired, it stopped heating on two more occasions. Now, LG state that it would be $160 to have a technician come out to diagnose the problem.I think a microwave that needs servicing six times in such a short period should have been replaced, but LG thinks I should just start paying the $160 per call out for the same, reoccurring problem. I spoke to a supervisor at headquarters who was very unhelpful and told me that the company should not have helped me as much as they did because it was a display model and its history was unknown. She was very combative and arrogant and probably doesnt even realize that she lacks even basic customer services skills and is in need of training. My only consolation is that she is a consumer too, and the same way she treated me, she will be treated at some point in her life. Further, I know now not to purchase another LG product. Hopefully I can save someone else from wasting their money on LG products like I did.

LG French Door Refrigerator is 1.5 years old and cooling system is intermittent, lost entire content of unit. The ice in the ice machine melted while I was away and ruined my hardwood floor ($450 repair for floor). The local authorized service techs said they have had others LG refrigerators have the same problem. Called LG and was able to schedule a technician to come out after 4 tries. I canceled before he came out because it was working again but since it was prior to the 24hr period they would not refund me. The tech said it would be hard to figure out what is wrong if it working. He suggested that he not come out and wait until or if it has problems again. He said he thinks it is the compressor which is $250 + 125 service call to fix but no guarantee that is the problem. Thank God the parts were under warranty. For a $2000 refrigerator I would of expected it to last more than 1.5 year and have no problems. My old 25 year old GE fridge is still working and never been serviced. LG customer service center is not terribly helpful; called a number of times, each time got a different story, they were only able to follow the script and there was no way to escalate to a supervisor - very frustrating. I usually look at the reviews before I buy. Did not this time but wish I had as I am not the only one to have this type of problem. LG not only has problem with their phones catching on fire and the tops of the washing machine coming off but now it looks like their refrigerators are junk also. Bottom line, will never buy an LG kitchen appliance again.

We have a 5 month old refrigerator that has not been cooling since 11/15/2016. A tech named Jerry came on 11/16/2016 and told us that he will need to call a supervisor for assistance moving the refrigerator in order to repair it but he will call us back that afternoon. (By the way, it’s on rollers. My husband and I were able it with no issue and I’m 7 months pregnant.)We did not hear back from Jerry until a week later on 11/21/2016 even after multiple voicemails. When we called customer service for assistance because we couldnt reach the tech we were told that there was nothing they could do until the following Monday. We went all weekend without a refrigerator and had to throw out ALL of our food. When a different tech finally showed up on Tuesday 11/22/2016 we were told it would be another week (after Thanksgiving) before repairs could be done. Now we have to wait until 11/28/2016 (please remember that the refrigerator stopped working on 11/15/2016).In the meantime I have no way of storing milk for my two-year old whos been eating fast food every day because we have no way of keeping food cold. I called and spoke with corporate supervisor LeeAnn who was extremely unhelpful and rude. She told me I’d just have to wait a week and didn’t offer any solutions or to help us a bit. From the second she came on the phone, she was argumentative and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. We’ve had to call all of our family and cancel Thanksgiving. I understand that it’s Thanksgiving week and that getting someone out to repair the refrigerator might be an issue; however, we actually called the issue in a week before Thanksgiving. If something had been done then we wouldn’t be in the predicament!

I purchased a stackable LG washer in June, 2013 and it died in January 2018. The hardware holding up the drum broke, and the estimated cost to repair was $600. Since a new machine was priced at $825, it wasnt worth it. The customer service department was very rude and not helpful at all.

After one half hour on the phone with LG customer service, I left so mad I would never buy an LG product and will do anything I can to discourage anyone I know from buying one. My two thousand dollar refrigerator did not have one (the owners manual clearly states one should come with unit). But after spending more than a half hour with their customer service I still have no plug, and now can look forward to wasting even more time with Home Depot, trying to get something that should have come with the unit. If LG cant handle a problem over a 50 cent plug, think how they will react to a real problem. I owned retail stores before retiring, and would have fired any employee that handled a problem like this.

We bought a home with an LG French door freezer on bottom refrigerator. The compressor failed suddenly, we lost all of our food. I’ve since learned from other stories that LG compressors are not reliable. When I called LG, I was told that because we did not know when the unit was purchased, they would only honor their seven year sealed system repair warranty from the date of manufacture, which was (drumrolls) seven years and three months ago. Despite the fact that the refrigerator was very likely purchased less than seven years ago, they would not pay for the repair. We decided not to go forward with the repair, as I am uninterested in paying for repairs to a shoddy product. We bought a new refrigerator, naturally not an LG. We won’t be considering any LG products in the future, as any company that would cut corners with a central element of their product, and then treat customers in such a rigid, bureaucratic manner is not to trusted.

We bought all new higher end LG appliances. Dishwasher, range, refrigerator, and microwave. Fridge had a catastrophic failure at just over one year, luckily we bought the extended warranty. Then the ice maker died at about year 4. The micro broke in the first year (under warranty) and again at about year 3, (I was able to fix). The dishwashers rack rusted out at about year 2, again warranty and then the dishwasher just died at year 5 and may be too expensive to repair. The range has been problem free. The entire line of appliances appears to be inferior with regular breakdowns. Now that we are out of warranty we will replacing with different brands as things continue to die. All in all we are very dissatisfied and will never buy LG again.

I purchased an LG refrigerator about 3 months ago. The first week I had it the door In door kept popping open. Weeks later the freezer would build up ice and I had difficulty opening and closing the freezer. I contacted LG and they sent a repairman who did not fix my problem. LG then sent a repairman to fix the freezer. The day he left the freezer stopped opening. I am now unable to access my freezer to get food for my kids. I’ve had to go grocery shopping just to have food. I have called customer service several times and been promised that I would be contacted to schedule a service call. To date no one has called me despite 4 calls to LG. I even spoke to a supervisor on Tuesday who promised me I would be contacted and still no phone call.

We had this beautiful fridge installed in June of 2012 and right away the freezer compartment spilled ice all over the floor when you opened the freezer drawer. The repairman messed with the seal on one visit, then replaced the seal on another visit and finally replaced the freezer door on the third visit. Problem with that was then resolved. Was gone for three months and back home for summer and the freezer quit working on July 4 - water all over the hard wood floors and freezer food thawed--they came out and did repairs on a fan. A week later the same thing happened - came out - needs new compressor. Came out with the right part no. on the box, but when he went to install it, wrong compressor - could not even restart the fridge section - so without fridge too. Yesterday they installed the correct compressor and freezer wont go below 29 degrees. American has been very good to do repairs and are trying to help us. We also bought the extended warranties, but that company has been somewhat difficult to work with. It is like no one knows who should do what. Very unhappy with this product. Now I have seen many others experiencing the same issues. Should the consumer have to suffer inconveniences and perhaps even damage to their home PLUS pay for the product and warranties especially when LG surely knows they have problems? I feel badly for the repairmen, but am wondering why companies continue to sell these products when obviously there are significant issues. What are we to do?

I will never buy an LG washer or dryer again. The LG washer is rusting out on top after only two years and very careful use. I contacted customer service on numerous occasions and they wanted $200 to simply come out and look it over. They were very unhelpful and rude when I asked for someone to fix it for less since it was so new and obviously had a flaw in the design of the washer. They refused to stand by their product and refused to do anything about the rust. This washer will be lucky to last three years. It was an expensive top loading washer with no agitator. It was a waste of money. I thought the LG was well priced until I realized the quality is so poor and the customer service so awful. LG makes their appliances look good on the outside but on the inside they are very poor quality. It appears that they make their appliances look fancy and state of the art, but they are actual cheap imitations of good, solid, quality products.

Purchased this washer (WT1101CW) January 2014. Its been two years of rebalancing accompanied with numerous draining and refills as this machine struggles to complete a load. Have had a technician visit us three times and he made sure the machine is level, has a new board with updated firmware and still we have problems. Even more telling is the fact that a tub clean cycle (water only) cannot finish without the machine stopping to display UE. Ive given up. For a quick wash our neighbors have let us use their washing machine. In the meantime my solution is unfortunately to move to a different brand of washing machine.

French door with water and ice distributor, bottom freezer, refrigerator LFX28968ST, barely 3 years old (still have one more payment), non-functional. Thursday, We noticed water spillage on floor in the morning but just assumed kids dropped ice and didnt clean up. In the evening we noticed nothing was cold and everything in freezer was defrosted and warm. Called LG, troubleshooted a few things, nothing. Even the SMART diagnostic could not be processed. We paid the flat rate for a service call.Friday morning, LG technician came, verified and said there was nothing to be done, non-repairable. Filled out the paperwork, took pics, scanned the bill of sale, sent to LG office and told us LG will replace and in that 72 hours should have a response. Weekend without fridge - good thing it was cool outside. Waited until Wednesday, no response. Call back LG customer service (located in Philippines). They have receive request but are still processing. Normally takes 7-10 business days, but since this is urgent, 3-5 business days.Well today, is 5th business day. I called back, they responded that it is still being processed, calculating the pro-rated amount, and someone will call us mid-next week. I ask to speak to someone in the department who is better able to help, but they do not transfer to whatever dept that would be, nor will they transfer to supervisor. I have a family to feed, and my home business involves cooking. I have lost the contents of my fridge and even though the temperature outside is cool, it dips below freezing at night and there are scavenging animals. Does anyone know a mailing address for LG so I could send them a legal letter? Customer support is really not helpful. I recommend not buying LG! This was the first and will be the last!

We purchased this refrigerator in May 2015. Ice maker has always been marginal, but this last week after we got home from a few days away, we found the refrigerator and freezer not working. No error codes, so we tried a power reset. Still no cooling or freezing. We called the appliance repair from the store we purchased from and their technician came out and verified the compressor had failed. He said their shop would contact LG about getting a repair estimate. We had purchased a 5 year warranty, but were 15 months out of coverage. Started to investigate if this was a common problem and lo and behold, we find there was a class action suit against LG for defective linear compressors. Our model was in the affected date range, however the settlement only covered 5 years after purchase for parts and labor. We are now waiting for a repair estimate. LG compressors are not reliable. Do your own research. These fridges are advertised as saving money, but when you spend over $2000 for a piece of junk that only lasted 6 years, do the math. They are not cheaper to own. We went shopping for a replacement and told the sales lady our experience with LG refrigerators and she commented that several of her customers had conveyed the same story about failed LG compressors. It is probably going to make more sense to just purchase a new refrigerator, given the cost of repair labor. Rest assured, it will not be LG or any other LG product in the future. LG is not Life is Good. It is Lucky Goldstar. Our luck ran out.

I caution all consumers about buying LG products. Life is NOT Good when you buy their products. I purchased an electric LG range, model #LDE3017SW February 2013 from Home Depot for $1,649.00. Little did I know at the time that this would be the worst purchase of my life. I say this without a smidgen of exaggeration.I do not bake a lot so my oven stayed fairly clean. With Thanksgiving approaching, I thought I would use the self-clean feature for the first time. About two hours into the cycle, the oven stopped working completely. The digital display was completely dark and the oven doors locked and would not open even though the oven is completely cool and inoperable.I called LG and their phone representative told me that I was not alone, that this has been a problem with this particular oven and that the thermostat needed replacement. First, my warranty had expired and needed to be extended. I was asked to scan my receipt with the serial and model numbers. I did this the next day.Hearing nothing back from LG regarding the status of the warranty extension, I called them back. Initially the LG phone representative told me that they had not received my scanned receipts but then, after putting me on hold, he found them. He said that his supervisor had not made a decision about whether or not my warranty would be extended. I ask him how I would be contacted when such a decision was made and he told me that I needed to keep calling LG back. After one week of calling LG back I was informed that my warranty would indeed be extended. I was told that I should call the repair company that LG contracts within my area, Heavenly Cool, to have the replacement part installed. I asked the LG phone representative if the repair person would have the correct part and be able to fix the oven when they came to my house. He assured me that they would, that this repair with this particular oven occurred frequently and that it was just a routine repair.I called Heavenly Cool the next day and spent about an hour on the phone trying to set up a repair appointment. I gave them my model and serial number and was told that the repair person would have the part in-hand and be able to fix my oven. I took time off work so I could be home for the repair. While waiting at home for the repair, the repair person called me and asked for my model and serial number. He said no one had given it to him ahead of time and he would have to check and see if he had the proper part with him and call me back. I was stunned. I waited for his call. He called back and said that he could NOT come to my house that day because he did not have the part to fix my oven.I went from patient to stunned to righteously angry. I called Heavenly Cool and they did not know what the glitch was with communication but they would be glad to reschedule when the part came in! How much time can I take off work???? I felt that I was lied to. I called LG and explained my situation and they said that they would have to call Heavenly Cool to verify. I was put on hold. The LG phone representative resumed the call with me and said that, indeed, I had communicated the current situation accurately and that I just had to wait until the part came in for the repair. I said that taking more time off work was not an option at this point and he said that if this repair person had 2 or 3 other repair jobs in my area that they would come at a time convenient to me. Wow! So if the sun, moon, and stars all aligned properly I could have the repair done sometime after work?I asked to speak with a LG supervisor and was given Eric. I re-explained the whole situation and he apologized for my inconvenience. I asked Eric how he could help me and he said that I would just have to wait for the part to come in and for the attempted repair to occur. If the part did not fix the oven, then I might have to wait even longer for repair. At this point, 12 days had gone by since my oven became inoperable. Taking off work and eating out is becoming very expensive! I will be having 30 people at my house for Thanksgiving! I had done nothing wrong but use the self-cleaning oven feature that LG uses as a selling point for this product and now I was without a working oven. I asked Eric if LG would replace my oven under these circumstances and he, of course, said no and there was nothing else he could do from his end. All Eric could do was apologize for my inconvenience. Since Eric did not have the power to make this right, I asked to speak to Erics supervisor. Eric told me that there was no one with higher authority at LG than him. Wow! Eric apologized again for my inconvenience.I found this website and I see that I am not alone in my frustration but I am very alarmed that LG ranges sometimes catch on fire! I did notice that the bottom of my double oven seemed to get too hot and did not evenly cook food. Because there is a safety issue with LG products, I do not even want to use their products. I will never purchase anything from LG again! I will tell everyone I know not to purchase their products. If LG wants to stay in business, they should make things right for their customers! It is now almost two weeks since my oven broke and LG has done nothing effectively to correct the problem. I have, unfortunately, learned a very expensive lesson. The only good that can come of this is to warn other potential, unsuspecting victim consumers about the potential perils of purchasing LG products.

I unfortunately purchased an LG brand front load washer and dryer from Home Depot. I wish I would have done some research first because it would have saved me a lot of problems. The washer is very high maintenance in which you have to drain it and clean out the trap. At least once a month, there are cleaning pouches that Tide makes that you have to use to clean out the washer. It seems no matter how often I use the pouches and drain it, my clothes have a musty smell. One of my biggest complaints is that I can not wash a lot of my blankets and comforters because they get too heavy and off balance the drum no matter if I try repositioning them.

Purchased a freezer on the bottom, French door on top refrigerator that ran for six months. When I called LG to repair, I was told originally that I was not in their repair area (A&E). After much discussion, they decided to send someone out (from Sears, not A&E) and my earliest appointment was three weeks away. I had to rent a refrigerator. When they called to say they would be there after lunch, I made the wrong assumption that it would be at least 12:30 to 1:00 pm. Wrong, they got there at 12:15, I did not get there until 12:30 after leaving work. I was not aware that 12:15 was considered after lunch. They would not come back and now I had to wait another three weeks for someone. Again they will not tell me what time they will arrive, just between 8 and 5, even though I requested an afternoon appointment rather than take off all day from work. Very unsatisfied with the service of the refrigerator and the service of their outside repair contractor. If parts have to be ordered, it will be additional time on top of the six weeks I have already waited.

MY EXPERIENCE HAD BEEN HORRIBLE! HERES WHAT HAS HAPPENED. Called hhgregg where I purchased refrigerator in March 2016. Leak started August 2016. The phone menu automatically routed my call to LG Customer Service. They said they dont repair damage to home but will repair refrigerator. They made an appointment to send an LG technician in two days. I had to call a water damage company in the meantime because water had leaked through the wall into a hallway and a bedroom. Water was under tiles and was squishing in the carpet. The LG technician finally came. The refrigerator was moved from its niche in kitchen. The technician discovered the problem. He said it was a defective valve in the ice maker. He said theyre (LG) going to hate this but its on us (LG). Called customer service again. Customer service representative, finally agreed to give us a claim number and gave us a number for Product Liability. I kept calling that number but no one ever answered and no one returned my calls. I finally got another number from customer service rep. Bottom line is the estimate to repair and restore is around $6225. They said they will pay $4224. I cannot get my home repaired for that amount. My refrigerator is still sitting in the middle of the breakfast area and the ice maker cannot be hooked until the repairs are made to my house. The defective refrigerator caused all the damage and LG should pay the full cost of the restoration. The Product Liability department has been very disrespectful and rude to me, a customer who purchased one of their products. Does anyone know who I should call at LG to resolve this issue.

We purchased this refrigerator on June 6, 2018 from Home Depot. In July 2019, the refrigerator stopped cooling. (How convenient, right after the one year warranty expired.) I called LG and they sent an authorized repair company to my house within two weeks. The company, National Platinum Service, replaced the compressor and filter. On December 24, 2019 the refrigerator stopped cooling again which caused us to throw away all of our food for the second time. We spoke with LG and they scheduled a different repair company, Advanced Appliance, to come out on January 6, 2020 to replace the compressor and filter again. On January 10th, the technician came back out to make an adjustment to the refrigerator and check on the status. All was working at that time. The next day, January 11th, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. On January 13th, the technician came out and said that there was likely a freon leak that would need additional parts to be ordered in order to replace the unit. On January 20th, the same technician came out again to replace the evaporator coils and he stated that he was not confident that this would be a long term fix. He said he spoke with LG support and was told they would not replace the refrigerator until they (LG) spent $1000 on repairs. The technician from Advanced Appliance stated that he felt we had a defective refrigerator and he would need his supervisor to come out and review the work that had been done up to this point. We currently have a refrigerator that is not functional and hasnt been for several weeks now. This is absolutely unacceptable. We have had to take off work 7 times for a technician to come out to TRY to repair the refrigerator in addition to not having the ability to have any food or drinks that need to be refrigerated since December 24th! The 5 or 10 year warranty doesnt matter when your refrigerator dont work and continues to break. Why on earth would I want my refrigerator to be replaced with a new and updated compressor after all of this nonsense especially when the first one should work in the first place if you are selling a high quality appliance? All I want at this point is a full refund and Ill be a happy customer.

Arranged repair (took 4 weeks, try keeping family of 6 with no fridge for a month!). Replace coolant, tested. 3 days later - same issue. Call LG. Arrange for repair (another 3-4 weeks). Apparently wanted leak tested properly and lost coolant. They needed to order repair part to rebuild the coolant system in my kitchen (another 4-6 weeks for parts). Repaired. Next day display on front showed error, turned out repairman forgot to plug a cable in. Few months later, not cooling....want to send another repair (different company than first 4 times!!). We purchased an LG washer new from Home Depot on August 27, 2012. We purchased a 5 year warranty from Home Depot at that same time. Today we noticed stains on some clothes, and discovered significant rusting from the metal under the bleach dispenser (which we never even use). I called the Home Depot warranty company and they said that rust was not covered!! I then contacted LG and they said rust was not covered but they might be able to do something. However, when they learned I had purchased a warranty from home depot they said they could do nothing. Meanwhile, there are numerous other complaints about this LG rust issue, including on their website from other consumers. We are now out of luck on a $1200 Washer. I purchased this from Sears. Its made by LG for Sears. Its a side-by-side since it was the only refrigerator that would fit within the dimensions of the opening of our cabinets. It was only a few months after purchasing that I found my kitchen floor flooded with water. The ice maker water feed line was installed by Sears. There was a defect in the refrigerator that caused the ice maker to freeze and blow water out of the water line from the back of the refrigerator causing flooding. I have a wood floor in the kitchen and the wood became warped and lifted both under and in front of the refrigerator. Sears came to repair and the repairman caused a short circuit in the electronics board and the whole refrigerator went dark. We had to wait for that part to be ordered. So we had no refrigerator for days and a wood floor that was destroyed. To make a long story short, the correct part was installed and the refrigerator in working condition again but it took weeks and a lot of documentation and correspondence between myself, Sears and the LG headquarters in order to determine who was at fault and who would be responsible for replacement of the floor. It was a very frustrating and maddening time. One other thing about the LG refrigerator, I noticed a few months ago that the paint on the handles is peeling off and soft. Theres a lot peeled already and a lot with long scratches from fingernails reaching for the handle. I dont know how to fix it to make it look less ugly and dont want to have to deal with either Sears or LG over this.

Every time he came he replaced another part. Nothing has worked yet. They said as long as the rest is working its just an inconvenience. My thought is for 3000.00 I shouldnt have to have an inconvenience. I have since given up getting anything done. I have the same kind of fridge (different brand) out in the garage and it is in humidity and have never had any problem with it or any other fridge I have owned. Will never buy that brand again. A repairman charged me $80 to tell me that the bearings were going and, OF COURSE, that particular problem was not covered under the warranty (whatever the hell is), and that the repair would cost more than $500.My husband and I are both a little shy of 70 years young and do just a few loads a week. Also, we have used numerous AMERICAN-made washers in our lives that never broke down but just were replaced due to age. This expensive LG was a treat for my retirement; my husband wanted me to have the BEST. Well, as it turned out, we bought the BEST of the Asian junk market or wherever this jewel was conceived - LG has taken care not to provide that information. It has been hauled away today and been replaced by an ALL AMERICAN-MADE MAYTAG top loader. The downside of this is that LG screwed us out of $800. (I could have had my laundry sent out for that amount.) But the upside is that, hopefully, LG will continue to put out junk and screw itself out of the market with the rest of the junk producers. It is refreshing to know that the MAYTAG IS ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY MADE IN AMERICA, BY AMERICANS - WITH COPPER WIRING AND NO ALUMINUM JUNK . Go for it, LG. I can only hope that you will continue digging your own grave.

LG has a good reputation, has stylish fridges that work well and last a long time. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. When I do finally purchase another fridge it will most likely be LG as well. Spacious, keeps items cold, never had an issue with it not working or things getting hot. Very good refrigerator that I expect to last a long time. I would like more door shelves and more drawers though. Very rarely it will get TOO cold and slightly freeze certain items, but that has only happened a couple times. 10 out of 10 even with that one tiny minute issues. Would recommend.

In life, you have large purchases that are life events: new home, car, and appliances. From day one back in 2008, from when we purchased our LG fridge (LFX2590TT), we have had nothing but problems.Water leaked and cracked the line on the back of the fridge (caused damage to wood floors). The deli drawer slide cracked and broke off. Water leak was repeated; the service repairman fixed the line and then the line cracked above the repair. The ice-maker freezes up and we had to turn it off to thaw. Water leaked again; the service repairman fixed the line and then the line cracked above the repair (third time). The replacement slide was broken (again). We do not over-load this drawer. Its all plastic crap and has a very poor design. The water line leaks inside the fridge. We gave up and turned off the water dispenser/ice-maker. Then the top of the vegetable/fruit drawers cracked.LG made it on my speed dial. After too numerous to count service calls and being long out of warranty, we have given up. When you buy a $2,400 refrigerator, you think it would work (completely) longer than 2 months. I will never purchase any LG products and I advise others to do the same. They make garbage and when it comes down to it, they just dont stand behind their products. In reading all of these reviews, you would think there would have been a recall, but theres none. Dont buy LG.

I bought a LG refrigerator (model no. LFXS30766S) on December 2015. After two years of service the compressor went bad. I was able to get LG to replace the compressor, since it was still under its 10 year warranty although the repair cost me about $250 on labor cost. Now on February 2020 the second compressor when also bad. It is my conclusion that LGs linear inverter compressors are complete garbage and LG shall issue a recall and replace them or issue refunds to all customers with this problem.

Have had an LG French Door refrigerator for close to 5 years and it is already breaking down. Have taken great care of it, replacing all filters when needed, keeping it cleaned, just went in back of it and cleaned out any particles or dog hair and yet it just wont stay cold. In addition, it mysteriously stops making ice many times. Despite everything seemingly working. All of these issues have started 1 month after a maintenance guy from LG came by to service it. Making it seem all the more of a bad buy. Look at a different brand!

Bought a LG Top load washer less than 3 years ago for $720. Its constantly going out of balance several times every load you wash. Now the drive shaft broke and took out the wash plate as well. Despite the fact that the front of the washer has a 10 year warranty sticker plastered on the front of it LG refused to authorize the repair center to cover the parts under warranty, the cost of which is approx. $400-450. I called LG directly and they and talked to a technician first and she just kept telling me it was not her department and that she was only authorized to talk to the service repair company and not me.I had to beg to talk to a supervisor and had to wait forever to talk, for her to get on the line only to tell me that the 10 year warranty only covers the rotor and stator, not the drive shaft and basically told me I was SOL. Bottom line save yourself the heartache and money and dont ever buy a LG washer. They are JUNK and their customer service is non-existent!

Our LG range model LRE307578B/01 stopped heating in early December 2013. Called extended warranty company for repair service. Nite Owl Appliance Repairs, Inc. responded and evaluated our range on December 17 saying a relay and heating element were needed. On December 18 the appliance repair company said one of the parts had to be ordered because the LG warehouse did not have the part. Over 2 1/2 months have past and still no parts. Have contacted LG, the repair company and purchasing company (Home Depot) for help to be told parts are on order. Appliances break, I can handle that situation, but waiting for over 2 1/2 months for parts seems beyond reason. I truly believe our range is a lemon and should be replaced. Thank you.

We purchased a counter-depth LG French Door unit from Lowes about 5 years ago with a 3-year service agreement. Because LG doesnt make as many counter depth compared to standard depth, it cost more (~$3000). Cosmetically and storage-wise, we were quite happy with it, but early in the first year we noticed that ice was building up behind the left bottom storage drawer. Lowes repairman replaced the entire rear fan/control unit, explaining that if we didnt have the service contract it would have cost us about $500.Unfortunately 2-more service calls by 2 different organizations were required in the first 3-years --- all for the same ice problem! We then purchased a 1-year extension for the service agreement because it was obvious that our $3000 fridge had a problem no one seemed to be able to fix. We were correct, because we had more ice in that year.Numerous calls and emails to LG and Lowes during these 5-years got us little more than asking for more and more details about previous repairs. They also referred us to someone to repair it. They all tried, replacing more pieces and parts. Finally, a few months ago when ice again recurred we spent $90 for another LG expert to review our issue. They told us LG had issued some sort of bulletin about this problem, and for another $500 for the part, plus labor, they could fix it. At this point we had already spent at least $750 and dozens of hours trying to fix a $3000 fridge and had no confidence anyone could repair it properly, so this afternoon our new Frigidaire will be installed and the LG hauled away; and Im writing this review. Purchased new Instaview French door refrigerator with CustomChill drawer, model LMXS30796D, on December 6, 2019. It was delivered the next day. As I was told by my salesperson that upon delivery I should inspect the refrigerator throughly before the delivery people bring it inside, I made sure two of us monitored the delivery the entire time. We were there from before they unboxed it from right off the to when they left and they did a beautiful job. So when I discovered a six inch scratch along the tom edge of the CustomChill Drawer later that night I was disappointed, but knew it was not as a result of the delivery. They very next day I contacted LG and they opened two case numbers (one was due to the CustomChill drawer sticking when you try to fully open it) and told me I wold be contacted within five business days. They said that in the meantime I could email the purchase receipt, delivery receipt and a photo. As I never received any communication from LG, on the fourth and fifth days I reached out to them again. The fifth day has come and gone and still nothing from LG on either issue. While I love the refrigerator, I am very disappointed in LG customer service. At this point in time I would be very apprehensive about purchasing LG again.

I should have known better than to purchase a refrigerator from Sears because of past experiences. On two prior occasions, (two different refrigerators) we had Sears technicians tell us that our units could not be repaired. So, in one case we purchased a new one from Sears but kept the old one. The old one was still running (5 years later), but the new one stopped cooling completely about three years ago. This time, we decided to live with the two partially operational units. The newer one has now stopped working, so we mistakenly purchased a new LG model from Sears, on Friday of September 2. Sears promised a delivery (for an extra $10) on Saturday of September 3. When we had not heard from sears by 4:30 on Saturday, I called their installation services. I was told that the item was not in stock--great. It was the Saturday before Labor Day, with food spoiling because the refrigerator was full of food.Ok, now I wanted to complain to someone at Sears, so I called their customer service (disservice?). After getting the runaround and being redirected to three other numbers (with 10 minute delays before connections), I found someone who could help. This helpful person told me that the unit was in-stock, but they were waiting for American Express approval for my purchase. I let them know that American Express has never (since 1964) delayed approval of my purchases and that I felt they were lying. I was told to call American Express. I told her that I wanted to speak to someone who actually knew what was going on, and the line went dead. I did call American Express; I was told that the purchase had been approved on Friday, so Sears customer service has more than one liar on their staff. Judging from all the other complaints about Sears, I wonder why there has not been more publicity to protect the public from this deceitful company, so much for customer service.

Update 08/21/2019:After posting this review LG was quick to respond with to a private exchange to stand behind their product. We had several exchanges concluding with me sending them the details and invoice from the LG certified repair company we had used to assess the unit. Unfortunately after this exchange we have received no further communication from LG. They had stated they would stand behind the quality of their product however after more than 2 weeks of silence and a not functioning refrigerator I am losing confidence. I am disappointed that they set the expectation that they would help and then have failed to respond. Not only because I would like their help but I need to decide if I need to buy a new refrigerator. Ironically the short term solve has been to use a 20 year old Amana unit in the garage which has never needed any repairs. Maybe we should go back to a more reliable brand. Original review:We bought an LG refrigerator when we purchased a new home. 5 year and 2 months later the board has gone out, the fan motor isnt working, and our repair man says the defrost is also not working. To fix it will cost more than $1000 with parts and labor. Very disappointed to be needing a new unit after just 5 years.

Washing Machine Model WT1101CW - There are several issues, the top being that the washer does a poor job of cleaning clothes. Ive had to soak white shirts in bleach to get out normal dirt. Ive had to wash clothes twice and three times to get them to even smell clean. I had a 20 year old Maytag prior to the LG and Im ready to get rid of this one after only having it 3 months. A second issue is that it leaves a full tray of water in the dispenser after the cycle is completed. I have to dump out the water every time. I called for service and they will not come out for that issue - stating that they only respond to technical issues and thats not technical. What??? Received a replacement compressor, but it was the wrong part. Had to contact customer service to let them know on Aug 12th. They asked for a picture of the serial tag, which I sent that same day. They replied Aug 14th, saying they were checking with their parts dept. I contacted them Aug 16 asking for an update, and again on Aug 22, to which they replied that they would be happy to look into this for you.On Aug 27, I got a message saying that the part should arrive that day. The tech we hired came 2 days later to install. So... after 2 months of living out of a cooler, we had our refrigerator back. As I said in my original review, the refrigerator is perfect for us, I love it. Unfortunately, I wouldnt buy another LG product, ever. I have had this refrigerator a little over a year and the ice maker has gone haywire twice. This is the chunkiest, clunkingest, noisiest refrigerator I have ever seen. I have to pull the thing out from the wall and turn the water off to change the water filter. My LG French Door refrigerator has broken down for the second time in the four years since purchase. The refrigerator was purchased in 2008. In 2010, the control panel failed. The cost to replace it was $400.00. Recently, the fridge developed a Freon leak. I contacted LG for a qualified repair person. The repair man told me that the fridge was indeed leaking Freon and it would cost $187.00 to determine where the leak was. He went on to say that if the leak was located in the bottom of the fridge, the repair cost would be between $300.00 to $500.00. If the leak was in the top part of the fridge, it would be unrepairable.LG, a Freon leak in a 4 year old fridge should not happen. Your company should replace this appliance. Im sure that you make quality products but my refrigerator is not one of them. Surely, you do not expect your customers to pay repair cost that total the purchase price for an appliance that is only 4 years old.

The fridge was purchased new in February 2017. The linear compressor failed in April 2019, and various other parts have failed since then. Every part (linear compressor, refrigerant valve, freezer evaporator) except the fridge compartment evaporator has been replaced, and it still doesnt work after 7 tech visits. Technicians do not bring parts--they must be ordered and shipped every time--adding more time without a working fridge. Though we have not paid for these tech visits, we have lost money on spoiled food and from missing work to meet the repair folks. In addition, we purchased a different brand of refrigerator after the LG failed for the second time. The purpose of the warranty is to repair the product and satisfy the customer, and neither of those has happened. We want our full purchase price back along with reimbursement for wasted food. Unfortunately, a leading consumer magazine still recommends LG refrigerators. My family does not recommend them.

This review is for the LG WT5170HW Wave 4.7 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer. I purchased this washer 2 years ago. I was looking for the largest capacity that I could reasonably afford. I also wanted to save water. I was replacing an old agitator-type GE model that was still going strong after 17 years. Ever since I purchased this machine I have had problems with it giving the UE message (uneven load). Dont even think of using the capacity of this machine to the fullest. Anything above half-full will automatically cause UE messages. Anything bulky like towels or bedding will cause the UE message. Sometimes it gives the UE message for what seems like no reason at all. Basically Ive had to wait downstairs and babysit this machine to get it to finish about half of its loads. As for water savings, whenever the machine gets a UE message, it adds water to try to fix the problem, so any water savings are lost. I am amazed at the amount of water this machine uses. Here is the worst part. Recently while doing a load of laundry, the machine malfunctioned and would not stop filling itself with water. Thankfully I was down there cleaning otherwise I wouldnt have known and my basement would have been flooded. Something has gone haywire and the machine will not stop filling itself with water now every time I try to use it.I purchased the service warranty (something I normally never do) and called the service center and they cannot find a certified repair center anywhere near me (we live near Minneapolis/St. Paul). This afternoon I spent at the laundromat, and my $1,000 paperweight sits downstairs looking pretty. And, theres no one in the Twin Cities area who wants to work on these things apparently. Save yourself the money, time, headaches and stay away from this product!

The ABSOLUTE WORST company and customer service!! I purchased a French door refrigerator in May through JCPenney. I also purchased the extended warranty. Five months later the refrigerator showed an error code - dhF. I called LG and they sent a serviceman who walked in the house, looked at the code and said he did not have the parts needed to fix it. I asked him how he knew what he needed without opening the refrigerator and he stated that it is a problem that LG knows about but continues to sell defective equipment anyway, they just sent someone out to replace parts. Needless to say, I was not happy. I called JCPenney who pushed me off to LG and have spoken with a total of 11 different people, all who have done nothing to help me. I want the refrigerator replaced. Thanksgiving Day, it stopped working altogether and we had to scramble to get coolers and buy a small refrigerator to place some food in. Today, the day after Thanksgiving, all of LG supervisors are on extended break because of the holiday. DO NOT EVER purchase anything from this company. It is criminal that they sell defective appliances and know about it. All they care about is the bottom line. If there was a choice for 0 stars, that is what they would be rated.

We have purchased an LG dishwasher about 3 years ago and have nothing but issues with it. In the first year the main board had to be replaced because it had just stopped working after hearing a humming noise coming from the motor. Since then we can not use the normal cycle since an error E1 comes up. Also in that cycle it will continue to pump out the water even if it is empty. So we are using the power scrub cycle since we use it everyday sometimes twice a day. The problem we are dealing with now is that we have to fill it during the cycle because it just does not fill with enough water. You will know when it sounds like it is grinding up debris inside. After filling it runs quietly. If we dont fill it the dishes come out dirty. The weird thing is it will not show the error E1 at all. It will continue to run till the end. We bought this dishwasher on sale and thought we were getting a very good deal. Now we know why we only paid $400.00 for this. We will not buy another LG dishwasher in the future after our experience with it and reading the other complaints from others.

I really loved this refrigerator (LMXS30776S), lots of space, extra drawer for drinks, and the black stainless steel. We bought it 5/22/16, and the compressor went out on 6/29/18... we bought the extended warranty (thru HH Gregg). They had someone out 7/3 who said they werent qualified to fix the compressor, and another company stood us up altogether. After hours spent on hold, and the warranty company saying its now in a diff department... I ended up live chatting with LG who gave me a list of their approved companies - out of 6 I finally have someone coming out to hopefully fix the compressor on 7/20. We paid $3461 (tax & warranty included) for this beautiful piece of worthless metal! I understand things break, but I think its strange that some companies refuse to work on LG refrigerators or arent qualified. I would never recommend this refrigerator.

Refrigerator Envy: that’s what our friends said when they saw our new LG refrigerator. NO MORE! Problems began the first year, and five years and many repairs later – most we paid for; LG covered a few – the problems have simply worsened. We’ve lost hundreds of dollars in food waste, spent over $800 in “repairs”, and endured countless inconveniences as a result of food freezing in the refrigerator. We now keep fruits and vegetables in our sixteen year-old garage Whirlpool. The design flaw, we’ve been informed, is known by LG and has been addressed in their newer models. Most recently, beginning 8/1/2019, our numerous emails to LG’s escalation team and to their VP of Customer Service have had no reply whatsoever. LG is unwilling and/or unable to follow up on their promises or our correspondence. We wonder if another “private message” would likewise be ignored. We have lost respect for LG. We would neither consider nor recommend the purchase of an LG product to anyone.

Yes its VERY loud, its cheaply constructed of plastic and like so many others, the handle broke and the frame cracked on the top corner. We are going to get a normal range hood and bring my Panasonic Inverter (7 yrs old counter top version) up from down stairs. We just want to inform the consumer of a serious defect. Last night, my daughter made popcorn and when it was done, she pulled it out closed the door and walked away. I had the useless fan running because I was baking so she didnt hear that, when she closed the door, it was still running. Probably 10 to 15 mins later, my niece noticed flashes of light coming from the inside and smoke from underneath. My husband had to run downstairs and flip the circuit to turn it off. Not a good thing at all, when your daughter opens the door and it continues to run and doesnt trip the circuit on its own. Ive included pics but in case they dont post, the glass turntable actually started to melt, there are burn marks on the bottom, inside the microwave and the plastic turntable wheels are melted to the bottom. On the outside underneath the micro, there are also god awful burns. Its frightening to think of what would have happened if it started on its own and no one was home. I havent read all the reviews on your site, but there are many others that have had this problem and reported on other review sites. I just need to get the word out about this very DANGEROUS flaw.

LG gas stove lrg30357st - We purchased stove 2010. Knobs one-by-one cracked broke. We use pliers to turn on off this $1600 stove. We have had many instances prior to using the pliers where house has filled up with gas... I have called LG several times but they want $85 each and what we read is they continue to crack and not work. $85 x 5 is a lot of money. I cannot believe consumer affairs has not taken this serious problem to the next level.

Ive had my washer dryer for almost 2 years. In that time I have had service on the machines for various reasons and have been somewhat satisfied. During the time Ive owned them my family has noticed that all my towels smell like mildew. I have done everything from tub cleaning which there is a button for that and buying tub cleaners. I leave the door open when not in use and never leave a wash lay in there, but it still always smells. Today when I went into room the whole room smells. I immediately called LG and they will not come out for smells. I also told them I noticed under and around rim there is gunky stuff that I cannot remove and they said they will not do anything. I will NEVER buy another LG appliance again!!

LG Refrigerators have a known problem with their compressors and they die within three years. Although the product is still under warranty, it takes weeks to get parts and still the fridge doesnt work. Their customer service is horrible and they state they wont replace a unit unless theyve come out four times. There is a pending class action suit against the company and the company should recall these products and refund the consumers money. Save yourself the aggravation and buy another product. If I could give 0 stars I would.

We purchased a $1,000 LG washing machine in October 2011. We had always bought Kenmore, but the salesperson said that LG was a great company with good products. So we made the purchase. When the machine was delivered I had noticed on the interior rim that the paint (porcelain?) finish was not smooth in a couple of places about the size of a quarter - this would be directly under the spray head and another area a few inches from the spray head. The delivery person didnt seem to think this was an issue. About 2 years later I noticed that the area directly under the spray head was turning brown, but I didnt think twice about it because at the time I didnt realize this round piece of plastic was a spray head. Well today when I was wiping down the interior of the machine 2 places the size of a pencil eraser came off exposing the metal of the machine. So I called LG to find out what could be done. The first person asked me to upload them and photo, which I did. She told me this was rust and LG would not do anything as this is considered cosmetic. Im like REALLY, this machine is less than 4 years old and rusting. Yup that was the answer. Not good enough for me. So I had purchased an extended warranty - warranty only covered moving parts but they gave me some advice. They told me, in their opinion, this was poor workmanship/defective product and LG should be responsible. So I called LG back and this time I spoke to a head supervisor, of course this was after I had to go through the whole issue with another service rep, just like it was my first call. This woman was so rude, kept cutting me off when I was talking and could not have cared less so I asked that I speak to her supervisor. I asked 3 times to talk to her supervisor and she told me that they do not handle this type of issue and NO I could not talk to them. She repeatedly kept cutting me off saying she would give me phone numbers for some companies to come and make the repair. I am ready for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT but not sure how to get in touch with those of you that indicated you want to do the same.

We purchased our LG electric range in 2016 for remodel. It worked great for approximately 3 years & then the heating would not work properly, I have to set the heating at 425 to reach 350 temperature. Of course at this point it is out of warranty. I’ve had a LG service repair man out to fix & he could not figure out what it could be. I paid for his service & it actually worked properly for about 2 weeks then back to low heat. I’ve never had any problems with ovens. We bought all new LG appliances in the black stainless & no problems with them but the electric range is a fail. Will never buy anything LG ever again.

Purchased the LG 5 element double oven slide-in range in late June, 2019 along with an LG dishwasher. In September, while using multiple elements, the range must have overheated because it shut off and flashed an error notice that I had to dig deep on the web/blogs to figure out what it was...Best I could come up with was motherboard failure. I cut power from the circuit and the next day and since, no problem with the error. THAT is not the issue right now. Lets start with the cooktop. I am OCD with cleaning the top. It even gets a wipe down when it hasnt been used. There are white marks on 3/5 of the elements. The previous range, which was 15 plus years old did not have these marks and that cooktop took a beating.I get things that are used cannot look showroom new, but 8 months of not daily use and it looks older than the previous range...which is very frustrating. Now lets move to the ovens. This model has the bright blue enamel interior. The easy clean function does NOTHING at all. Spills and drips happen and the easy clean was one of the reasons I selected the LG model. Ok, so I just gently wiped the minor spills and drips with a wet rag when the oven cooled and would do the self clean as needed. I wipe the glass on the oven doors regularly and honestly have no clue how there are drips in between the glass on both top and bottom. You cant see it unless the door is open or the light is on but they are there and shouldnt be unless there is a problem with the door/glass seals..NOW, today I ran the self clean cycle for the first time since purchasing this unit. I am absolutely livid!! The cycle ran for four hours and then it took some more time to cool so I could wipe the accumulated ash from all of the cleaned spatter and drips that I couldnt wipe out. Both top and bottom ovens look ruined. The grime just cooked into the finish! While wiping with the damp towel, it was shiny and looked clean. As it dried, it looked like bacon cooled bacon grease. I wiped again with another towel and dried with a microfiber cloth...still there and will NOT go back to the shiny finish and seriously looks like coagulated bacon grease. This range was not cheap but is manufactured extremely cheaply. I am sick to my stomach with my decision to buy this unit as opposed to one that was more readily available. The dishwasher I have no problem with so far but this range is absolute JUNK! I looked at many reviews prior to purchase but I wish I had looked at this site before purchasing this unit because this would have tipped me into the cons...dont buy column. Do not purchase an LG range!
