I cant stress enough how disappointed and upset I am, not only with the brand new refrigerator (model A9RXNMSWS01) breaking after 16 months, but nonsense communication, attitude, and difficulties Amana customer service just displayed! Warning: Do not purchase the top freezer, 2-door, stainless steel Amana refrigerator. The compressor will die soon after 12 months. The contracted repair person mentioned this is not uncommon with this brand. So, after spending $866 on this junk, we had to shell out another $300 in repair costs. Then the repair failed to work! Two Amana compressors defective! No, we did not have the extended warranty but how often does a fridge die? Not after 1.4 years! Amana CS was awful, combative and couldnt communicate a clear sentence. These are lemons!

I purchased an Amana HVAC system and in a little over a year- in the middle of summer it has broke 3 times. We have gone without an AC in Texas for 12 days. I contacted their corporate office and they were no help. I also contacted the distributor and they put me in contact with the regional tech and he told me I needed to be willing to spend some money to try to find the problem. This is unacceptable in my opinion. I am very frustrated and would never recommend this brand.

My refrigerator had stopped working. I called Amana and gave flamingo appliances to look at it. Technician said that water got into the lines and the refrigerator could not be fixed because of rust. I dont know how rust could form in an aluminum line and combine with the refrigerant. I have a service contract with Amana and they refused to honor it, because they said rust is not covered. I do not believe the technician because he did not look too hard and try different things. He was in my house about 15 minutes and called to Amana. I called Amana and they told me they would not even reimburse me for spoiled food because rust damage is not covered. I have time left on my contract and they would not pro-rate it either and want to charge me for the service call. I have to purchase a new refrigerator, but not anything that Amana makes.

We have had our Amana Furnace and air conditioning for about a month. We have not needed the furnace so far, but the air conditioning has been beyond expectations. Coupled with the Ecobee thermostat, the system is much quieter than any HVAC system that we have ever had. The thermostat runs the fan every 15 minutes and the whole house comfortable.

Since the purchase of the Amana fridge, installed 4/2014 has been repaired 3 times and now the icemaker has failed again. Called to schedule a repair and was told that the policy has been cancelled for non-payment. The extended warranty and unit are paid in full at the time of purchase! Of all the appliances Ive owned in the last 45 years, this is undoubtedly the worst of the bunch. Am I required to go through the hassle of making a copy and sending it to prove the warranty is still in force? No! What a runaround! DO NOT PURCHASE AMANA PRODUCTS! Unless you want a lemon and have to make your own ice. To date, the water pump and icemaker has been replaced. 1st replacement of the icemaker was put in wrong and had to have service tech come back to fix that issue.

Last year I purchased a new Amana washer and dryer for our home. I chose to buy new because of the factory warranty included with new appliances. I was sadly mistaken to believe that Amana would honor this warranty. I was told that even though we live about 30 to 40 minutes outside of the largest city in state of Oklahoma, there are no service providers in my area! This means that I have two choices, I can either find a way to transport my broken washer to an approved service provider at my own expense, or I can pay a local repairman and be reimbursed up to $150.00 in about 6 weeks. These are my options?!! My washer is brand new, why should I have to pay when its still under warranty? I have no way to transport my washer! Its huge. I would have to rent a truck twice to drop it off and pick it up. My only option is to pay for the repair and wait over a month to be reimbursed. I asked them why they would only repay me $150.00 if repairs cost more than that, but I was only told that it shouldnt cost over that amount. So now I have to go a family members house to wash school clothes for my daughters and decide which utility bill can wait so I can fix my NEW washing machine. My advice, dont buy Amana, they will not stand by their warranty unless its convenient for them. I will never buy from them again.

I bought an Amana stove 2 years ago. It has been in service 5 times within the last year. The temperature control board keeps messing up. Called customer service. They said to reset it. Which I had to do 3 times and still couldnt finish making dinner. It was last fixed in November and its out again. They really dont care. Told me buy extra warranty for 400$. REALLY!!! Lets just say my response was not nice. I told them since they didnt care I would let people know about my bad experience and terrible product, she hung up on me. Now I have a useless stove because it cost just as much to fix it than what I paid for it. I would never recommend this company or product to anyone.

We have had our washer and dryer for 3 years and they have never been any good. My washer timer stopped working so we are having to sit and listen out for the machine to complete or it will continue to repeat the cycles all over again if we dont stop it ourselves. The washing machine also knocks so loudly that even the dogs next door begin to bark. Our dryer timer has also stopped working causing the heating element to not blow heat.

I purchased an Amana Washer and Dryer from McKinneys Appliance in September 2014. Sometimes it works - but more often it does not. It does not clean the clothes, but it does get them wet. I put a load in, press the start button, and it sits there - finally a ding and the door locks and the cycle goes directly to spin - and no water in the tub. The circuit board has been replaced twice - the repair lasts one month, and the problem comes back again. I contacted Amana and waited 6 weeks for a repair person from Appliance Repair - the company was in another city.

Amana NTW4516FW3: Worst of all, it agitates as it fills!!! WHY??? WHY would it DO this???!!! This tears up your cloths!!! I have to wait till it fills, THEN put in my cloths. Limited control of water: It is supposed to auto sense but it runs in too little for some loads (I can switch it over to deep fill until the correct amount of water runs in) and WASTES MY WATER AND DETERGENT running TOO MUCH water for smaller loads; no way to stop it! Nothing you can do about it!!! :( It only RINSES on COLD! :( So I have to CANCEL the wash cycle before it rinses, and set it back on the wash cycle in order to rinse in warm or hot water!!!! :( Then I have to take out all the wet cloths until it fills or it will tear them up agitating as it fills!!!! :( Then I cancel the cycle AGAIN, and set it to a spin setting after if rinses, as this is the fastest. (The spin it would normally do on the wash cycle is slower and shorter... cloths too wet when done.) TRIED TO CALL AMANA AND ASK WHY THE WASHER AGITATES WITH ONE OR TWO INCHES OF WATER IN IT AS IT FILLS!!!! They were abrupt and could offer no way I could contact or address the engineers who make this washer.

If you must buy an Amana product, get an extended warranty and keep extending it for as long as you can. Unlike the folks who make these Amana products, the Assurant Solutions service protection people are a standup group. Its clear from just a little research that this product (Amana ACS3350AS) had design and manufacturing flaws from the start, including oven and broiler igniters that dont last more than a couple of years. Unsafe overheating of exterior oven surfaces. A poorly placed computer control unit that overheats with the rest of the oven. Since they stopped making the computer, less than six years after we purchased the thing, its dead. Amana argues that the California state obligation that parts be made for seven years does not apply in this case. They consider it seven years from the date of manufacture and not purchase or it seems like they are saying we didnt buy it when we bought it. Run from these people if you have a choice. The warranty company (Assurant) is paying $720.00 for the oven we spent $1,000.00 in 2006. I believe I spent $200.00 on extended warranty until 2014. No money on five repair visits. You do the math. Please keep in mind this is the same corporation that owns Whirlpool, Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Consul, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Gladiator. Collecting brands, not customers. Consider the service youll get.

I have wanted a 2-stage HP for years so when our 22yo 10SEER AC was nearing EOL, we jumped at the opportunity for a high-performance unit. My expectations have been exceeded: We love the dehumidification feature, the ECM air handler is able to reach the furthest corners of our house, I have to go outside to check if the condenser is running sometimes even though the unit is right outside our kitchen window, and the heat pump uses ~1kW less electricity while in the 2nd stage than our old unit. ComfortNet/Bridge took some learning but if you have patience and like to read then you'll be tuning your system in no time. Honestly, I ended up going back to many of the defaults because the whole setup is already quite efficient. We recently had a few <50F mornings so I have also been able to test the heat in action and am now looking forward to a cold winter to really stretch the system's legs!

I purchased a brand new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Dual Action Agitator (model NTW4516FW2) in July 2018 from Home Depot. The product has completely stopped working after just over 2.5 years of normal usage in a small household of 2 people. According to the repair representative, the controller has stopped working and needs to be replaced at a cost of more than $500 which would be more than the price paid. The product lasted less than a quarter of the expected lifespan of 12 years. A call to the company that owns Amana (Whirlpool) provided no reprieve such as a discount on a replacement purchase or credit towards other Whirlpool products.

Bought a Baking element for my stove. Over a month to receive. Call a service tech to install to find out that I did not need to replace it on my stove. I called Amana customer service to find out how to return the brand new part. I was told to send back in same box with a return authorization that would be emailed to me. I went to the post office and mailed per the instructions given to me but instead of it costing me the same $7.95 that Amana paid to ship to me, I was charged $29.15!!!! My entire refund is only $51.63 so half of my refund is being absorbed in returning because Amana will not provide a return label!!In the end my refund will equal half of the $47.00 price of the part alone???? When I called the parts department customer service they smugly advised, Well you have to return in our box but you could have shopped around for the best shipping rate???? This is a scam and why Amana/Whirlpool is going down in flames! Cheap shots like this to innocent customers who have been loyal to their brand for years. Our new oven came on time, installed easily and worked well. However, after its second self-clean cycle a round hole appeared in the finish of the floor of the oven. This hole is about one inch in diameter, with little cracks radiating outward from it. We called Amana, who sent a repairman to assess the issue. Subsequently, Amana shipped us a small tube of touch-up paint. This paint is a different colour than the ovens interior finish (black vs dark blue), stinks horribly for several days after application, and does not fill the hole even after three applications. A further call to Amana has yielded only the statement that there is nothing more they will do.By the way, the repair technician who came told us that its quite common for this kind of flaw to occur. Be advised, your nice looking appliance may start looking ugly soon after purchase, and youll be on your own! MOD:NTW4605EW0 Type: 587-20 - This product is the worst I have ever used. My Husband and I are in our late 50 on a fixed income and recent stem cell survivor. We had to save for this for months to buy this washer. Now knowing it would not have been the top of the line, you still have a reasonable expectation that your laundry will be cleaned. Thats not the case with this washer. I have taken items out of the washer that never hit water, and still soiled. You cant make any adjustment to the water level, the agitator is very ineffective and sound as the whole thing is a strain to do a basic task. I have bought Amana in the past and had no regrets until now. That is unacceptable for misleading the public that this is a washer. It truly just an oversize hamper. If this sounds like I am not happy with this product. Then sorry to say YES I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT! When you pay $250-$300 you expect it to at the very least to clean your laundry!

If you do small loads, you are still using more electricity and water, more work, more time, so were not saving anything, are we?

What I like best is the way the inside is organized. The door have various sized compartments and hold a lot of smaller items as well as tall items. I have a freezer on the bottom and it is much bigger than my former standard fridge. The pull out drawer makes things easy to find. The only problem I have is that food easily slips behind the shelves and falls below the shelves.

I bought a new Amana washing machine seven months ago. I was doing laundry then went about my business, when I returned my laundry room floor was flooded with about eight inches of water. I hurried and grabbed a pot and after about a hundred trips from that room to the toilet, I finally had the water down enough to let my dehumidifier do the rest. I have issues with my arm and that being said I have been in much pain since. It was still under warranty so I had it fixed. I was only told a button went out. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Poor quality.

I am a renter. The apartment space came with a basic Amana gas range. I experienced large flare ups. Come to find out the previous tenant tried to clean by lifting the top - like every other stove in the world and broke the fittings causing a gas leak. There were no instructions available to indicate that this stove cannot be cleaned, and the very act of lifting the top, which is not restricted in any way, breaks the tubing that houses the gas. How are people supposed to stay safe with this stove? It will be repaired, what about the next tenant? There were several flare ups, almost explosions. The repairman said we were lucky.

I have been a loyal Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid customer for close to 50 years now. My 7 year old French Door Amana Refrigerator still works fine, but has a product defect, the heater. Ice forms on the bottom of the Freezer compartment, and if not removed every 3 weeks (manually defrost) it will melt and run onto the floor. I had it repaired 1½ years ago for $503. Less than 8 months later the problem reappeared. There is a class action lawsuit for this well known issue. But Amana refuses to act. I called Amana and they told me they would gladly send a repair person out to look at the issue - AT MY EXPENSE!!!! Thats all they will do. Yesterday I bought my first Non-Whirlpool appliance, a GE refrigerator. I will never buy Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag or Kitchen Aid again - NEVER!!!

I purchased this Amana washer in March 23, 2015. In February 27, 2016, this problem occurred: I turn on the washer, but as soon as the wash fill ups with water, it does not move to wash and it does not lock to start the wash cycle. The water drains and then I have to start the wash all over again. So I thought it was the lid switch, and my solution was to push down on the lid hard enough until I heard a click sound. This worked for several months. Another problem occurred on August 12, 2016: my load would complete the cycle, but when I open the lid, I clearly see that the clothes are soaked so this means that during the drain/spin cycle, the speed was too slow to fully squeeze out all of the water from the clothes. So my next solution was to start the drain/spin cycle only, but again. With all these problems that keep coming up, we decided to use our warranty, so we called in to have the washer repaired. We called HHGregg to repair the washer, and we gave all the detailed information as to the problems and the possible fixes to it. Their representatives solution was to replace the washer because they deemed the necessary repairs to the washer as costing more than the value of the washer. Well, we were shocked, because this washer is only 18 months old, so how could its value decrease so quickly in under 2 years? I researched and found that the drain/spin and lid switch is a very common problem with Amana washers. So we understood that we got what we paid for. So back to the washer replacement with HHGregg. They shipped us a new washer for around the same price of our old purchase.Again, we purchased the first washer in March (we got a St. Patricks Day Sale Price), and now were getting this new washer that is smaller and still is an Amana. HHGregg refuses to repair it, they would rather give us a washer that is smaller in capacity and would most likely last for a year but no more than 2 yrs. In a nutshell, we were screwed over by HHGregg, because they saved on repair costs, and gave us a washer of lesser value than what we originally started with. Oh ya, we had to pay on taxes, obviously, so they profited from that too. AMANA WASHERS ARE TERRIBLE!!! Save your money and purchase a more reliable washer!!!

I had no idea that the Amana side-by-side 25 cf fridge I bought in 1993 would last this long. Its now 20 yrs old and still going strong. The only problems I had were with the ice maker, which I had repaired a couple of times years ago. But when I moved the fridge to do floor work and replaced it, I opted not to connect the ice maker back up. All ice makers break down a lot, it seems. So I use the ice bin for food storage, and I use old fashioned ice trays with a specially-shaped bucket for ice. The temp control on my fridge seems to be just fine, after all these years. I do vacuum the front grill at the bottom occasionally and underneath to the extent I can. But Im looking for a new fridge because I think this one will probably go soon, and I dont want to have to buy a new one in an emergency situation. I dont know if Amanas are still made the same way, or if the quality has gone down, or even if I just lucked out with my fridge. But the layout of the fridge is awesome, the special compartment to keep milk extra cool, the freezer space, the quietness (w/o the ice maker its been pretty quiet, but the ice maker was pretty loud). If I could find an exact replica of the one I have, Id buy it in a heartbeat.

Amana washing machine model NTW465OYQ. We bought this Amana washing machine after losing our shore house in hurricane Sandy. It is only 2 years old and is rarely used since it is in a vacation home. The machine already needs a new control board since the cycles do not advance. It will wash over and over forever and never advance to rinse or spin, even when the dial is turned manually. Between the repair call and the cost for the new control panel, the total to fix it is more than we paid for it. The customer service representatives stated it doesnt matter that you rarely use it, if it is over 2 years old there is nothing we can do for you. Will NEVER buy an Amana again!!

This machine does not wash clothes very well. Everything must be hand washed beforehand. So for lightly soiled items, it would be nice to be able to just rinse and spin/dry. But even this small feature is impossible to isolate. The spin cycle leaves clothes quite wet. The rinse cycle adds more water than the wash cycle does and takes forever. Remember that I am getting the dirt out by washing the clothes by hand. The wash cycle does such a poor job. When I put the bed cover in for a wash, the water level did not wet more than half of the cover. So I manually filled it with water from the sink. The washer released the water out. So I wasted all that soap and effort. I took the cover to the laundromat. This machine does not wash laundry well. It has one reason for being in the house: to wash laundry, and I am doing clothes by hand or going to a laundromat. #fail.

My husband and I bought a brand new Amana front load washer in May of 2009.
My husband and I bought a brand new Amana front load washer in May of 2009. Last week, March 5, 2011, it broke. It began buzzing. When I went to check it, the washer has an “ND” code and it would not open. The first girl I spoke with was Samantha. She told me that she couldnt find that code in her computer (on the net is says it means no drain, most likely true), but she told me how to get the washer to unlocked. Eventually, it did work. My washer still had dirty water and soap in it. I handled the soapy mess and later washed my clothing at my in-law’s house. When I called back to talk to them about why my washer wouldnt work and what they could do to help me, I was told nothing. I spoke to a manager and was told the same thing. The only thing they were willing to do was give me a warranty plus one. Meaning, that I get this repair fixed and one-year warranty on the piece of junk in my basement. My washer wont be 3 till May. There is no reason for it to be broken. I also did my own research and many people have complained about the same problem. I feel that this washer should be recalled or at least the company should fix it at no cost to the consumer. This seems to be an on-going problem with this model. We bought thinking this we were buying from a good company. Now, Im stuck with a scrap pile till I get the repair guy to come out, thanks to a warranty that I have to pay for out of pocket.

We bought an Amana Refrigerator in May 2005. It is now 6 1/2 years old and began making noises recently It died last night and the repair will be about $800 or more. This fridge was working fine until recently. Over the past two years my parents and my wifes parents both bought this same model as they liked ours. Hopefully theirs wont die as well. We called a repairman who said that, that year (2005), there were problems with the compressors. From reading other complaints it seems that it is not limited to that year. From researching different refrigerators last night, it appears that the Amana, Maytag and Whirlpool are all exactly the same refrigerator with just a different nameplate on them. Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006 and Maytag had already bought Amana prior to that. So much for Amish people in Iowa making a decent appliance. We are disappointed in Amana. We had my grandmothers refrigerator when I was in high school. It must have been 35 years old and ran fine.

About a year ago, I purchased an Amana oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Granted, all three were on the economy end of the model spectrum. I have issues with all three. The oven door on after only 4 months started to bind opening and closing. Also, the plastic trim around the oven handle also is cracked and continues to get worse. I called Amana thinking I could get it repaired within the 1 yr. warranty. I was told that the oven door repair is not covered because it does not affect the functionality of the appliance. Really? I think the door has quite a bit to do with the functionality of an oven. Regarding the microwave, the door, also cracking off the plastic trim around the window part of the door. Thirdly, the dishwasher upper rack keeps falling off the track because end bracket on the left side often comes unsnapped. These design (or should I say misdesigned) elements of Amana products should not be occurring. Especially after only a few months of use. Oh, by the way, after my 1 yr. warranty expired a couple months ago, I received a card offering to extend my warranty. You have to be kidding! I have sold my home and I will not have to be living with these inferior Amana appliances for long. I will never purchase an Amana appliance ever again. I purchased an Amana refrigerator 3 years ago and so soon the compressor went out. I had a 4-year warrant from Home Depot. Some guy, he was not with Home Depot but from an appliance repair store, they hired came out and he was very rude. I would ask him a question about the freon and he would shrug his shoulders. I think this was because he is white and Im Spanish. Lately, since the apartments next door have been empty for a year, roaches have come to my home from there. Because I keep up on roach control, we did not have them before. He found two roaches on the floor and put down we were infested, which we are not. Now Home Depot says they will not fix it. But another repair person says that’s absurd. Even if you have them roaches, they can not get in the compressor.I blame Amana for making cheap refrigerators. Right after the manufacturer’s warranty of exactly 2 years expired, our Amana Refrigerator broke before the end of the following year. Oh, did I mention we bought it brand new from the showroom floor at Home Depot in Hilo, Hawaii? Now it runs all the time on the freezer side and the refrigerator side does not get cold at all. Ice forms in the rectangle box that is located inside the refrigerator section and no cold air from the “run always” freezer-side comes into the refrigerator. That poor design is how it is supposed to keep your refrigerated food cold. Poor design. What isnt, these days? So here we are, spent $800 for this thing and it has lasted 2 years. Now I have to spend $300 to get it fixed. Meanwhile, until we can just come up with an extra $300 to do that, we have to rent a refrigerator - another $68 a month. Now, isnt this fun? On top of that, it was evidently not working properly for about 2 months until one day I began vomiting from bad food. Not fun either. So what is a consumer to do? We are at the mercy of cheaply made and poorly designed shoddy craftsmanship and materials made by companies that just dont give a you know what anymore. They only want to make more profits out of greed and screw the consumer. They know you need these products so they can literally get away with doing whatever they want. I wonder if any really great person is going to once again build the real McCoy of Wash Machines and Refrigerators that are built to last and do! It can be done, it is just not being done and no one seems to care. Have we become so apathetic to accept this in our lives that we are the sheep they speak of? There are no choices. Oh, you think because something is stainless steel and looks pretty and shiny it is good quality? Stainless steel is only on the outside! Underneath, it still rusts! We live by the ocean in Hawaii where things are not hermetically sealed like on the mainland where houses are all closed up and furnaces run all day and night. And the Stainless steel here still rusts and they tell you right away that rust is not included in any warranty! Oh, let’s see who is Amana made by? Whirlpool I think and I am not surprised.Remember in the old days when all the washers at laundry mats were Whirlpools and they worked? Well, dont buy one these days. See my post on the one we just got! For people who say, Well, just buy the warranties they sell when you buy the item.” Yeah, and so you really are spending an additional $300 for the product, which will then last 3 more years from the day you bought it. Who is getting screwed here? - The customer either way. Remember when you bought an appliance and had it the whole time you lived in your house? Remember the Maytag repairman? And did you know your icemaker is not included in your warranty? Nope, you just have to pay for that - an additional $300-$400. Is everyone just going to roll over and accept buying a major appliance for $800 and having it last 2 years?

I have an Amana Radarange microwave (model AMC5101AAW). I am very happy with the overall ease of use. However, I noticed lately that the inside top had a few bubbles forming. The other day when I was wiping it clean almost, the whole white paint on top of the inside peeled off. The bottom and sides are fine. I just dont like the idea of the possibility of flakes of paint coming off in the food - or more of the paint peeling off the sides. What are the possibilities of something else happening with no paint covering the metal? I have young grandchildren and dont want something happening with them because of the paint peeling. I dont know what can be done because of this. I believe I had paid about $150 or $175 for it. I would like an answer about what to do with it. Thank you.

The repairman replaced the relay on the compressor and told me that would take care of the problem. Well, 1 year later, we are experiencing the very same problem. The smell is so bad, I am going to have to unplug the appliance and store all the food at a friends until the repairman can get here next week. It is getting into my hair and clothes, so that I smell it all day when I am at work. I will never purchase an Amana appliance again.

Warning do not accept delivery of stove if when its plugged it says F1E1. It means the stove control panel is broken and oven will not work! An Amana electric stove was ordered online via Home Depot. Delivery time a week. A week passed no stove. Phone call made told they were out of stock and would be in a few weeks. Got a call after a few weeks, delivery would be in the next 2 hours. 4 hours later calls made and no stove would be delivered on next day in a 4 hour open window. Stove arrived, mover said See it works and turned on top burner, was in a hurry and disappeared. Finally a stove top & oven. Went to grocery store did the big shop roasts, baking goods, quiche supplies etc. Got home prepared food for oven. Started preheat and nothing seemed to click or change. Thought it might be user error entering in temp, bake, time etc in wrong order. Called Amana they are not open Sat and Sun. Called Home Depot not helpful since store did not sell it to me, was bought online. Provided a Maytag number called that. Rep wanted model number it was on the stove. It was not on the directions. I read off what was on the stove front and saw no model. Tried oven door, no, no model number. Finally she asked a colleague and said Look in the pull out drawer. No not there but I noticed a thin metal stamped striped hidden by the drawer. Down on my knees, head upside down tried to read print. Too tiny. Gave her model number based on Home Depot photo but then she needed a serial number, on the thin strip. Could not read it. I asked her as I had asked Home Depot what the code meant and had I entered in bake the wrong way and why did it say F1E1. Finally she said I needed a technician since that meant the control panel was broken but without a serial number nothing could be done. That was on a Sat. Tue someone stopped by and was able to write the number down using a flashlight. Called back in and next appointment if keep by Amana will be in a week.Summary a basic stove, no special adaptions, was ordered and it will be between 4-6 weeks before it might be useful. Food had to be thrown out, other items quality diminished by freezing. Why a new stove is delivered with a non working control panel is unacceptable. No remuneration was offered by Amana nor Home Depot for inability to cook, time wasted for delivery and now technician. If your product is not available and does not work you should not be advertising it.

I purchased an Amana Washer on 2/13/2015 from a dealer in appliances here in Oldsmar, FL. I bought this Washer and Dryer due to the fact these items were Made in America. The paint on inside of the top lid of the washer is chipping off, peeling off, etc. and some of these flakes of paint drop into the washer on my clothes and only will only get worse with time. I called Amana and since I did not like what the sales rep said I asked for a supervisor which stated to me that he could not help me to replace the top piece of the washer. He could only send me a bottle of touch up paint. This guy also needs to send me a large brush with a quart of paint! This washer is only a little over 3 years old and should not be peeling like it is. Not like a bunch of people use this washer as it is being used by 2 adults. No abuse or rough treatment on this appliance. Lousy paint job! Where was the inspector for the painting of this washer? Not doing his job most likely because if he had done a half-way decent inspection he would have noticed the bad paint job. The sample bottle would not cover the areas without paint. I cannot believe that this was made in America as some 3rd world country would do a much better paint job. Dryer is OK but washer a mess. I will never buy a Made in America washer or dryer again. The foreign appliances will be on my list to purchase from now on especially since these manufacturers in the US make these defective items and charge you many dollars for junk. Never will recommend Amana to anyone for anything as they do not stand behind their work.

Purchased a Washer and Dryer from the NEX online back May. The dryer had issues of turning itself off. It would stay on unless someone opened the door or turned it off. I thought it was the times and purchase another one for $83. Now the dryer has stopped working all together, no wonder this brand has cheap prices. BEWARE. Do NOT purchase Amana products!

I purchased a new Amana stove for a rental property in GA at the beginning of Sept. It has NEVER worked. When I called they said they could only speak to the tenant, when she called it was past the 48 hours of delivery and since I didn’t get the warranty they would have someone come out and repair it... ok fine. The company was a no-show and no call twice. Then I get a letter from the GA housing authority that I am required to have a working stove within two days. I was forced to purchase a second stove for the renting family. I called and called Amana to pick up the useless stove and credit my account. They were extremely rude on the phone and refused to take it back. Not when I call the new repair company told me it would be fixed the day after Thanksgiving, following up today they now say the part is on backorder until next month. This will be three months now that I purchased the stove and fortunately am paying zero interest on through HD. I cannot believe the lack of customer service with Amana. I will NEVER EVER do any business with them again!!!

The interior paint is peeling off in big flakes now. Before they were small, but a large part of the paint on the bottom of the oven is gone. I have contacted Maytag Corp. and was told to call a service person. From what I have seen online, this is an inherent problem with this product and the company should issue a recall and make an effort to fix it at no expense to the owner. The microwave still operates perfectly, but the fear of fire or paint in food prevents me from using it.

I have had a new top load HE washer now for just a few months and I regret
I have had a new top load HE washer now for just a few months and I regret I ever bought them. List of problems: (1) This will be the 3rd service call in just a few months. (2) NO SOFTENER DISPENSER, what rocket scientist would design a washer without a softener dispenser??? Its not like it would cost anymore to the company! You have to either stop the machine right when it’s filling up for a rinse cycle or...buy a softener ball which stains clothes and does an ineffective job at best! (3) My electric bill has not dropped one penny, do not tell me that these machines are more efficient, thats just politics, so that congress can say they are being more environmentally safe! HE (high efficiency) is not true!!!(4) The washer does a terrible job of cleaning clothes. It does NOT agitate properly, it just winds back and forth a little and makes a weird little noise. My old washer (Kenmore) was a superior product and I wish I had never got rid of it... If you own an Amana top load, just wash your clothes in deep water, so they at least wash better. (5) This is our 3rd service call as I said in the beginning in just a few months, the first 2 service calls were with the dryer and this one is for the washer. The motherboard is bad in the head of the unit. Buyer beware, these are not old time washers that you could open up any time or adjust water levels during the operation or just open up anytime you wanted to add clothes or more soap... No... These are very sensitive electronics that have issues when the washer process is disturbed in any way!!!(6) This is the way you have to treat these washer, pay attention... Open up lid, add soap, put clothes or whatever your washing on sticky soap. Add softener ball if you (unknowingly) bought a washer without a softening dispenser. That was us... Never buy from ad in paper, go see it, who knew washers are now made WITHOUT softener Dispensers!!! Then close lid and set settings from left to right and hit start program button. The reason I said program button (Start) is because these junk washers are now like cyborgs, part computer with junk electronic boards as electronics to control functions and operations of a washer which are just basic. After you do that, do NOT disturb in any way! Otherwise YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS AND REGRET YOU EVER BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Resetting only works so many times when it does have problems. I bought this from a local vendor through a sale paper ad. The vendor is not the problem, this is a Amana Corporate issue. Shame on you Amana, I will never buy a Amana product again... Trying to reinvent the wheel?

An Amana furnace and air conditioner were purchased in Dec 2013 after my 21 year old furnace died. The Amana furnace first broke down and stopped cycling Feb 2014. The air conditioner first broke down and blew warm air in June 2015. Since the first breakdowns the air conditioner broke again in June 2015, it was making a leaking sound. Air conditioner broke again in June 2016, blowing warm air. Furnace broke twice Jan 2017, no heat. Air conditioner broke again May 2017, blowing warm air. Furnace broke again Jan 2018. And lastly, the air conditioner broke again July 2019 and I am currently waiting for a new evaporator coil. Evaporator coils are not covered under warranty so nearly $800 out of pocket. Wish I had more time in Dec 2013 to research furnace and air conditioners but when it is 20 below zero outside all I wanted at the time was heat!

We purchased this washer on 11/11/10 because my washer finally let go after
We purchased this washer on 11/11/10 because my washer finally let go after 18 years of wonderful service. I have had A&E at my house 6 times to fix this washer the main problem was it was chewing up and shredding my clothes and leaking then the seal around the door would come off that has been replaced multiple times. The mother board and transmission also have been replaced. Now 15 months after I purchased this machine and 6 visits later, it has happened again. The machine has ruined my daughter’s brand new coat along with my postal uniform. I have finally become angry so I call up my extended warranty (thought it was a good idea to get an extra 4 years of coverage just in case). The woman I spoke to was very nice and actually tried to get me a brand new washer but because I only used the extended warranty once, I have to give them another chance to fix it before she can do that. So she scheduled me an appointment with electronic services. The gentleman calls me and asked me what was going on with the washer. I give him all the details and he tells me it is an ongoing problem with that model and they made a replacement part for the one that has been broken so he went and ordered it. The next morning, he called me just a surprised as I am to tell me that the warranty department has denied the claim. Wow! So I call back Home Depot warranty dept and tell her what is happening now. So as of right now, it’s a waiting game. She is calling corporate to see what they can do for me. So hopefully Home Depot does the right thing and stands by their sale since Amana was nothing but nasty to me and very unhelpful through this whole thing. My next step is contacting an attorney and finding other who has received the same outcome because then we can go after Amana full force.

We purchased Amana Refrigerator model# ABB2222FEW on 8-15-06. We replaced control board when the refrigerator was only 2 yrs & 4 months old and it cost $216. Well guess what, it just went out again. The part cost me $111. My husband will try to replace it. If he cant, we will have to dish out another $100. This is ridiculous. Amana needs to step up and have a recall on this product. My washer has pre-set programmed settings for the water level! My clothes barely get wet and the washer stops adding water and starts washing! I bought the washer approximately 4 years ago! It is almost useless! I have to add water by hand and I wash certain items twice! My washer leaks periodically as well. Had repairman come and he told me I had to tell him where it was leaking from to be FIXED. So we couldnt get it to leak while he was here so it was never fixed and still leaks! He also said there is no way to change the pre-set water levels! Thank God my washer is in the garage or my house would have been flooded dozens of times! Jax, Fl D.

WARNING. The Amana clothes washer I purchased does not wash clothes. It moves clothes around and gets some of them wet. I have tried to manually add water to the wash and rinse cycles with a bucket. I recently hurt my back and was not able to manually wash my clothes with this piece of poop. I finally had enough and have upgraded to a automatic clothes washer that agitates the clothes instead of me. This Amana HE washer is the slowest, least efficient, manual clothes washer on the market. I had the piece of junk hauled to the dump before I grabbed the model. It was a Amana HE with no agitator. Should not be sold as a clothes washer. False advertising.

I purchased my refrigerator 4 years ago. Today, (bottom) freezer quit. I called the original store for info; 4 years old so it’s out of warranty. I called another service company - more than the first. I sought Amana online and called toll free. They confirmed there is nothing they can do due to past 1 year warranty. I called my friend who bought the same fridge; she had the same problem and invested much money into fridge, which never worked correctly. I then found many customers online having the same problem at 4 years; compressor quits! This should not be with a new fridge. I called the Amana toll free number back and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke with Sherri, ID# **. After putting me on hold, she advised she would sell me an extended warranty for $392.39 to fix the freezer! This should not be; I told her I should pursue a class action suit as many customers have had the same complaint.
