We bought a smooth top Amana range in October of 2015. Recently the glass top shattered...sounding like gun fire. One of the burners no longer functions. Is this a common problem? The replacement top will cost more than half of the cost of a new range.

We bought an Amana washer in February 2015. We bought the biggest headache ever. Right before the manufacturer warranty went out we had our first major issue, the washer would not drain and spin. They came out to fix that. Three months later no water would go in. They came out to fix that. A few months later it was back to no spin and drain. A few months later we had to call them back and the leveler was out. Now I am calling them back it is so loud you cant stand it. Do not purchase from Amana. It has never really washed the clothes. I have to hand wash baby clothes before wash or food residue is still on the clothes.

In late 2017 we purchased an Amana Electric stove top, oven and dishwasher, a Whirlpool vent hood and a garbage disposal. To date (3-1-2019) the only thing that has worked properly is the garbage disposal. These were not top of the line, but were not bottom end either. The dishwasher never worked and the motor had to be replaced right after it was installed. The stove top had a burner that didnt work, and the burners wobble. The oven also never worked correctly, and they had to replace the sensor, element and core shortly after it was installed. Now just a little over a year later the vent hood motor is having problems, you turn it on and the speed goes up and down by itself. I called the customer experience line, and of course since it is just now out of warranty they will not do anything about it. We bought, and had all of the appliances installed from a reputable dealer who has been in business many years, and we were happy with their service, but I will never buy Amana or Whirlpool again. Also a word of caution to anyone who has young children, the Amana electric oven has a dangerous design flaw. The air in the oven circulates and blows hot air out the vent at the bottom. If any young children were to touch this it would burn their fingers. It is a shame that Amana/Whirlpool obviously has no quality control and uses shoddy parts. Luckily for us we purchased an independent warranty plan for the stove top, oven, and dishwasher, as Im quite sure Whirlpool warranty would be as lousy as their products.

The washer has a very large capacity and is pretty basic, but does the job. I don't need all the options. It fill based on sensing the size of the load so I don't have to guess. It has basic look, but so far has performed very well. I like that it is American made.

My daughter purchased a washer in August 2015. Two months later in October 2015 the lid locked and could not be opened. She called Amana for service. It took 2 weeks for someone to come to her house and look at it. He ordered parts, 2 weeks later he put the parts in. Still didnt work. Without all the details, it is three months later and six visits from the repair men and the washer is still not fixed. Now they are saying the repairman is only in her area twice a week and only in the mornings. She works mornings and is available afternoons. This very poor service and product that Amana is providing. This washer should have been replaced with a new one by now. NEVER again will our family purchase an Amana product.

I had my washer for barely over 2 years before it started to unbalance. Now less than 2.5 yes after purchase I have to replace it. According to the Amana repair representative for my area I needed a new balance ring and new suspension. He said the balance ring would cost over 200 dollars, but my research show the average cost being 40 dollars. However, with the price of labor the total repairs would be a minimum of 170 dollars on a machine that only cost 300. I realize this was a bargain appliance but we never overloaded it and it should have lasted longer than 2.5 years. The short life expectancy of modern appliances is ludicrous. I recommend avoiding this brand or buying the extended warranty. I just hope the dryer lasts.

My Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, which is about 6 years old, broke dow
My Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, which is about 6 years old, broke down in November 2011. The circuit board was the reason as advised by the service man. I declined the offer of a 3-year warranty and agreed to pay for a new circuit board--about $350 if not more. I planned on changing the fridge in any case so I agreed to pay. This April, five months had gone by and the freezer is all iced up. The upper section of the fridge is not blowing in cool air so I called the service people again. The service man opens the freezer, takes away the back panel, uses the blow dryer, opens the back area and tells me its the circuit board again.A new circuit board in 5 months at a cost of 1,200 shekels? No way! How does a reputable company like Amana supply circuit boards that last for only 5 months? Something was very wrong. I asked the service manager over the telephone to leave the old circuit board and I would send it to Amana to see if it is an authentic Amana spare part or some phony Chinese part that breaks down every 6 months. The service man told me to buy warranty. I asked him if he was an insurance sales man or a refrigerator repair man. It seems that they are big on selling warranties because all spare parts are fakes, faulty or simply of bad quality.Anyhow, I got very angry and said there is no chance that I will pay another $350-$400 for another circuit board, when in another 6 months, I will have to change it again. But because I have warranty, then I will get it for free. Still, it doesnt solve the problem of the circuit board failing every 6 months-- bad quality, made in China. Then, I got my circuit board for free. The service man took the old board away, with the unmarked box and left as fast as he could--suspicious. I can almost say for sure that the circuit board placed inside the fridge is not an original spare part and that seems to be the way the service people work here in Israel. I will let you all know in another 6 months. But Amana is no longer a choice of mine. I think I will buy Smeg. My stove and dishwasher are, so far, problem free.Amana is a big disappointment. This customer complaint should have a Facebook page. You would probably reach a lot more people faster and maybe then would these big corporations think twice about selling their faulty, low-quality appliances.

We bought our Amana fridge from Sears when they first came out with the freezer drawer, at the bottom. Thought it was the coolest thing ever. 3 months after getting it the freezer handle fell off, so my husband screwed it back on. Again it came off. Needless to say it keep coming off. Finally I just got fed up with it and stuck it in the garage. My husband put it back on again. it was on for maybe 6 months, then came right off in his hands again. Well Ill never own a Frigidaire again and I will add Amana to that list too now. Had this fridge for 16 yrs. My next one will be a Samsung.

I have been a loyal Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid customer for close to 50 years now. My 7 year old French Door Amana Refrigerator still works fine, but has a product defect, the heater. Ice forms on the bottom of the Freezer compartment, and if not removed every 3 weeks (manually defrost) it will melt and run onto the floor. I had it repaired 1½ years ago for $503. Less than 8 months later the problem reappeared. There is a class action lawsuit for this well known issue. But Amana refuses to act. I called Amana and they told me they would gladly send a repair person out to look at the issue - AT MY EXPENSE!!!! Thats all they will do. Yesterday I bought my first Non-Whirlpool appliance, a GE refrigerator. I will never buy Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag or Kitchen Aid again - NEVER!!!

I recently moved into a new apartment and the washer and dryer had already been used by the previous tenants. I used the washer with a small load on a cold cycle, and when the load was finished, my clothes were still DRY! Some of the clothes had wet spots but for the most part, my clothes looked like someone just splashed water on them. I had to redo the cycle on a larger load setting. My clothes came out FULL of someone elses lint. The dryer. Ohhh, the dryer. I then place my linty clothes in the dryer to see if they will be removed. I do a full 60 minute cycle. I open up the dryer when it is finished and my load is warm, but still damp! After 60 minutes on hot! I have to run the dryer 4 TIMES to dry a load of laundry. Needless to say, the landlord was called and he is replacing, but God, please dont let him buy another set of Amana washer and dryer. Please!!!

I just purchased Amana Dishwasher Model # ADB1700ADS through HD online. As noted by another reviewer, this model has a serious engineering flaw. It does not have an exterior handle attached to the body of the door. The model has been designed so that you are forced to pull on the underside of the black plastic control panel. You can see the panel flex outward (more than .25 inches) under the pressure needed to open the door. I tried opening the door by pulling on the outer door corners and from the top edge without success. There is absolutely no question the plastic control panel will break due to material fatigue - and it will break either fast or slow depending on how often you pull on it and how hard you pull. I recommend you buy your own stainless steel door handle from any appliance parts store and install it yourself. It will cost you about $30. Amana may have saved themselves $10 (for this same part) but they will take a ding to their reputation and have a lot of unhappy customers in the future. If Amana took into consideration that in buying a dishwasher, it is not just the cost of the dishwasher for the buyer - it is also the cost of time lost from work waiting for an install that never happens within the time frame given, install fees, taxes, delivery and haul away fees. There is a lot of time, effort, and money involved in buying a dishwasher. So much so, that the buyer would not blink to pay that $10 with an upcharge to prevent the destruction of the control panel of a daily use item they dont want to have to repair or replace for years to come. As others have noted, this particular failure will not be covered under the manufacturers warranty. Otherwise, the dishwasher is noted to work properly, is better suited for a smaller family, holds fewer dishes than others of the same size, has a very long cycle, and is hoped to be of similar quality to that Amana has been noted for in the past -- with the exception of this one very serious defect. We dont really know about the quality, because it has not been out long enough to have proven itself. I would have given the dishwasher a 2.5, a 2 is too low and a 3 is too high, considering the time, effort and expense I have put into purchasing it, the day lost for install, and finding and installing a handle to safeguard the most expensive component to repair - the control panel. Once the control panel goes, it will be cheaper to buy another dishwasher than to repair it, IMO.

Beware the Amana company. I dont like to give bad reviews to companies but the time has come. Our church bought a new side by side Amana refrigerator/freezer in August. It worked until the middle of December and then it started warming up. It was turned up to the coldest settings and still continued to not do its job. Frozen foods are cold but not frozen. January 3rd I called Amana and a technician came out on the 14th. He said, It needs fixed but I dont have to tools to do it.About 10 days later another tech came out and said, It needs a new part but I dont have one with me. The next week he came and replaced the part but it still didnt work. I called Amana again and told them since its still under warranty, we want a new appliance. I was told they dont do that unless a technician comes 2 times and he has to say it doesnt work. We had 3 visits. She said she would send out their top technician because he would know what is going on. Apparently the others didnt. He was supposed to come on Thursday but they called and canceled because they had scheduled the wrong technician. Rescheduled for today, Monday February 25 but cancelled because their truck broke down. We are finding it very inconvenient to have an appliance that hasnt worked for over 2 months, wouldnt you? Now scheduled for Friday. We will see. The only help I got was when I went to the manager of Home Depot about it and he got after them about it but still far from resolved. I imagine that Amana has some good appliances and we got a lemon. The appliances are questionable but the company is terrible to deal with.

I purchased a brand new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Dual Action Agitator (model NTW4516FW2) in July 2018 from Home Depot. The product has completely stopped working after just over 2.5 years of normal usage in a small household of 2 people. According to the repair representative, the controller has stopped working and needs to be replaced at a cost of more than $500 which would be more than the price paid. The product lasted less than a quarter of the expected lifespan of 12 years. A call to the company that owns Amana (Whirlpool) provided no reprieve such as a discount on a replacement purchase or credit towards other Whirlpool products.

Three of my Amana appliances are not working. The Amana washer is 4.5 years old, the Amana oven and dishwasher are 6 years old. I understand that appliances break down but three so soon and at the same time????? Shame on Amana. Do not buy Amana products! I just paid $170 for a diagnostic evaluation to tell me that the repairs will cost me over $750. The issues I have with all three are common with other customer issues, yet the company does not issue recalls. I bought the stackable washer & dryer. If I end up needing a new washer, I dont know if I will be able to get one that will properly fit under the Amana dryer. I will never ever buy an Amana product again. Since the purchase of the Amana fridge, installed 4/2014 has been repaired 3 times and now the icemaker has failed again. Called to schedule a repair and was told that the policy has been cancelled for non-payment. The extended warranty and unit are paid in full at the time of purchase! Do not buy Amana!! Purchased a washer and dryer on 5/24/16. Washer will not drain but is full of water. They want me to sit at home on a Thursday (NEXT WEEK), today is Monday, until a repairman shows up. No idea when. Just wants me to wait. Informed them I will have the washer, water supply and a cord to plug into outside because they arent entering my house. I am an independent driver for people needing rides to Dr, Grocery and so on. I did inform them I could wait but a $20.00 an hour fee will be charged. Ill let you know what happens if I can.

I am very unhappy to write this because I thought Amana product is good brand and product since very long time but I was wrong. Its total garbage and wastage of money, I bought the combo dryer and washer from Leons on boxing day. After couple of days using the dryer I found that its not efficient as I thought, after drying the cloth always keep wet, I think I bought the bad quality product, I wish I could return this! I purchased an Amana HVAC system and in a little over a year- in the middle of summer it has broke 3 times. We have gone without an AC in Texas for 12 days. I contacted their corporate office and they were no help. I also contacted the distributor and they put me in contact with the regional tech and he told me I needed to be willing to spend some money to try to find the problem. This is unacceptable in my opinion. I am very frustrated and would never recommend this brand.

Amana Top Load Washer W10740545A; W10740546A - This washer was purchased from Albert Lee Appliances, Bellevue, WA, on 3/31/2015 and installed on 4/7/2015. It failed to operate for the first time on 8/5/2015. Once the appliance is installed, the customers are on their own and Albert Lee turns over repair to a company named Appliance Hospital, Seattle, WA. It does not seem like a good business decision to not also be responsible for repair for how can they gauge what products reliably serve their customers? An Appliance Hospital technician arrived on 8/7/2015, pressed the same start button that we had been engaging and the washer worked. He left with the promise that a new controller would be ordered -- not received or installed as of this date. Thus, it appears that we are involved with an intermittent failure. This does not translate to reliability concerns on the part of Albert Lee Appliances, Appliance Hospital and especially Amana-Whirlpool. Apparently, none of these businesses are concerned with the stocking of an appropriate number of repair parts locally. I would recommend that other buyers not consider doing business with the above.

Contacted Whirlpool/Amana regarding my 95 year old mothers washing machine. She purchased in February 2014. She uses the machine once or twice a week. During the rinse cycle, the water pumps in and out at the same time. No agitation. One year warranty on machine, so the company will not replace for free. My brother and I have contacted them repeatedly with no solution.

They were no help to me at all about reimbursing me anything on both washer and dryer, which were not that old. I had terrible problems with both. Would never buy a front loader again. The company wanted to give me a percentage off of my new dryer (this broke down first) which had cost so much less. I did not think that was fair.

Bought an Amana Refrigerator AFI2359ERM00 Dec 2015 and it crapped out 4 months after the 1 year warranty expired. Imagine that. Glad I bought the extended warranty through Home Depot! LoL since April 2017 my fridge has quit working 5 times and totally defrosted and ruined 5 fridge full of food. Freds Appliance has been out 5 times to try to fix it and cant. It seems to break down every 3 weeks or so. Then after 2-3 days of clicking and buzzing it starts cooling again. Well the quickest they can get out is 4 days and by then its up and running and the tech says well I pushed a few buttons and cant find anything wrong. Amana/Whirlpool has washed their hands of it because of the extended warranty I bought through HD. HD wont replace it because they claim the SAME part has to be replaced 3 times before it is considered a lemon. Been in limbo since April and its so frustrating.Dont waste your money on Amana. Poor quality! Even worse customer service. Same with HD. Very robotic in their responses. They are all sorry Im having an issue, but wont take responsibility. Plus since the unit seems to break down when Im not at home and all of the ice from the hopper melts and runs down the front of the fridge all over the floor. Now it has ruined my hardwood floor all around the unit. What a POS.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. We bought it in May of 2014 and to my dismay found that it did not fill on the rinse cycle. My clothes always had soap residue left on them. I read the manuals carefully and it did indicate that when manually adding softener, to let the rinse tub fill. It never did. We called the repairman who re-calibrated it, so supposedly it would work properly. He no sooner left when the red lock lid button started blinking. It was off-cycle again. It still does not fill. I have to go to another rinse drain cycle to rinse my clothes. My advice to anyone...DO NOT BUY AN AMANA WASHER, THEY ARE JUNK!!!

Hello my roommate bought a used Amana washer because the other Amana washer didnt work. She paid 200 for it... And found out it didnt spin. So she spent 100.00 more. Then the door would not close for it to turn out. She arranged for another certified Amana repair guy to come... He traded the door with other broken machine. The door closed and it turned on. He did not stick around long enough to hear the spin cycle sounding like a helicopter... And still delivered your clothes on the wet side and not very well washed. So 450.00 later we still have a broken Amana washing machine and the repair man said he fixed the door problem and it would cost more for him to look at any other problem. Its heavy but if I can I will throw it in the trash... Or put it online for salvage. Expensive lesson. Never buy another Amana after the first one broke down? But no one asked me...

We are a single couple with few loads to run. After 3 years our Amana front load washer circuit board went out. It was replaced with a three hundred dollar new one. 3 years after the replacement was installed, the replacement went haywire. This is a circuit board part that everyone says is no longer available because the manufacturer doesnt want to replace anymore. So, long story short: Original cost of new Amana front load originally: $560. Cost of first replacement circuit board $385. (Replacement part lasted 2 years). New cost to replace our Amana washer $600. New cost to haul off Amana washer $50. Wow! My total $1,595. It used to be that Amana was a great name. Ill never buy from them again.

I purchased an Amana Washer and Dryer from McKinneys Appliance in September 2014. Sometimes it works - but more often it does not. It does not clean the clothes, but it does get them wet. I put a load in, press the start button, and it sits there - finally a ding and the door locks and the cycle goes directly to spin - and no water in the tub. The circuit board has been replaced twice - the repair lasts one month, and the problem comes back again. I contacted Amana and waited 6 weeks for a repair person from Appliance Repair - the company was in another city.

Amana Wide Dryer - I have purchased the dryer less then 50 days ago and the timer is already bad. This is the customer service ladys response after I say the timer is bad and they still have to order the part so it will be a few more days before it is fixed. I have already had to go to the laundromat once because 5 people live in my home and 2 of them are boys that are 8 years old. It has cost me more money at the laundromat than it does on my electric bill in 2 months. Im sorry but if you spend hundreds of dollars on something, it should work more then 50 days and you should understand not everyone can afford $40 twice a week to go to the laundromat. I will never ever purchase a appliance from Whirlpool (Amana) again after the way I was treated on the phone today. Her best response is We are gonna fix it. Its under warranty. Well yeah duh, I paid for a warranty. On the plus side, ABC Warehouse was so embarrassed that they gave me a extra year warranty on them. Sad I wont be telling my friends anything nice about you company but ABC is tops at customer service. Maybe Whirlpool employees need a course. Im not asking for my money back but give me a different dryer or give me the money to go to the laundromat. Ugh, people stink.

Amana microwave brand new lasted 17 months. Cheaper to replace than have it
Amana microwave brand new lasted 17 months. Cheaper to replace than have it fixed - labor and parts service call. Amana dishwasher brand new had it four years. First issue was the clasp on door. When you close it it broke. Second issue water did not drain out and no power. Fuse need to be replaced plus the mother board needed to be replaced. Labor parts and service call cheaper to replace. Last appliance gas oven. When you turned oven on to preheat it would never reach the desired temp. I would turn oven off and turn it back on and temp. would be what I had set it at. The.problem was the.panel at the top of oven where the clock and temp settings are that needed to be replaced. Same thing with parts, labor and service call. I feel like the quality of the.product was poor. When we bought our home in March 2011 the home had been remodeled and the appliances were new and still had the tape on them. We have had to replace all the appliances and the new appliances are not Amana. Thank you.

I purchased the Amana 25.1 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator in Stainless Steel, Model# ASD2522WRS from Home Depot 15 months ago, in September 2010. Two weeks ago, all my food in my fridge spoiled. I noticed while I was pouring milk in my sons cup, something told me to taste it because it didnt smell fresh even though it had over three weeks until expiration. It tasted like sour cream. I am so glad my child didnt drink that. I almost threw up. Also, I had four-day old ice tray in my freezer that was still liquid, my ice cream softened and all my sons popsicles crumbled to my touch. I had to throw away majority of our food and weve been eating carry outs since. I contacted Amana and they told me the warranty was only good for 12 months. They scheduled for a technician to come to my house for repairs. I was suppose to be priority since I was stuck at home without food. I waited all day for technicians to come and/or call. I even tried to call and couldnt get through since their lines were busy. I left a message and received a return call the next day. Amana gave them the wrong phone number. I wasnt given a quote so I asked the technicians directly for a estimate and they said they were going to charge me $129 just to come to my house + charges. Say what now? That is ridiculous.

I had lots of problems with the Amana slide in range, with Model #ACSE350AS, from the get go. Where to start? Here’s a list of the problems: the control panel got really hot on high heat or broil causing the plastic layer over the buttons to warp; the burner labels (front right, back left, etc) chipped off; you need to press buttons that poked through the plastic; uneven heating and the temperature was never accurate; it took awhile to preheat; the heating elements needed to be replaced; and finally, the panel just gave out, caught fire, and we had to call the fire department! We will not buy Amana again!

???? Amana Whirlpool Whirlpool Customer Care Center. The whole 4 MONTH experience to have our fridge replaced has been a joke. We have had 4 service technicians come out in order to decide we need the whole refrigerator replaced. Then it couldnt be shipped out for a whole month. Now it was supposed to be delivered today June 5th 2020 between 1:30-5:30pm. Only to be told that J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Couldnt deliver it when they scheduled to because the driver ran out of hours, not blaming the driver. I blame the company for putting too many on the load so it couldnt be delivered on a 3 day ahead scheduled appointment. It absolutely should not take 4 freaking months to get a refrigerator much less during COVID-19 putting my family in more Danger to have to go to the store more for our needs for a family of 6. Not to mention both my husband and daugthers medications have to be kept cold. THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH A WARRANTY ISSUE. I personally expected better from every company list because we have had issues with each department leading up to not have a working refrigerator for 4 months.. I was given an expensive (about $300/$400) Amana microwave last year. One year and one day exactly, it just quit. It wouldnt work, nothing. My daughter called the repair and they said theyd send out a repairman. He called to confirm the appointment and the first words were, Will this be credit, check or cash? I called the Amana company and they told me the cost would be $129 for the man to come to the house and diagnose the problem. Anything else would be extra as the warranty had expired (one day before the machine stopped working). For less than the service call, we got another brand of microwave that works just as well. If it goes out in a year, it will still be cheaper than anything Amana offers. To top this whole mess off, yesterday, about a month after the equipment failure, I got a standard form letter from Amana urging me to buy an extended warranty and the basic one year was about $60. This would have done me no good as the microwave was already broken and out of warranty. I sent a letter last night to the Amana customer service. I got another canned reply today about how good the warranty was and how sorry they were, but they couldnt apply any warranty to the old one because it had lapsed. This is an outrageous example of the planned obsolescence now in use. Amana used to be a top company up there with Maytag. My first microwave was an Amana Radarange. I bought it when they first came out and it lasted about 10 years. Now, this piece of junk that was expensive to begin with only lasted one year and one day. Amana should offer a complete refund to customers that have these problems. Ill never buy Amana again. And since Amana is now owned by Whirlpool/Maytag, Ill probably never buy them again either. How sad that American quality has gone down the drain just so the big companies can get richer at our expense.

We had our Amana fridge freezer fitted in January 2009. After 6 years and 6 months this appliance has broken down and is unrepairable. We paid £3,800.00 for the fridge, and would have expected at least 10 years service from it, as we have had 10/12 years service from fridges that we have paid a fraction of this cost for. We have contacted Whirlpool, who manufactured the fridge, and have had a very unsatisfactory response so far. We are still fighting our case, and we are prepared to take this all the way, to make sure that no-one else buys an Amana product. I have had a new top load HE washer now for just a few months and I regret I ever bought them. List of problems: (1) This will be the 3rd service call in just a few months. (2) NO SOFTENER DISPENSER, what rocket scientist would design a washer without a softener dispenser??? Its not like it would cost anymore to the company! You have to either stop the machine right when it’s filling up for a rinse cycle or...buy a softener ball which stains clothes and does an ineffective job at best! (3) My electric bill has not dropped one penny, do not tell me that these machines are more efficient, thats just politics, so that congress can say they are being more environmentally safe! HE (high efficiency) is not true!!!(4) The washer does a terrible job of cleaning clothes. It does NOT agitate properly, it just winds back and forth a little and makes a weird little noise. My old washer (Kenmore) was a superior product and I wish I had never got rid of it... If you own an Amana top load, just wash your clothes in deep water, so they at least wash better. (5) This is our 3rd service call as I said in the beginning in just a few months, the first 2 service calls were with the dryer and this one is for the washer. The motherboard is bad in the head of the unit. Buyer beware, these are not old time washers that you could open up any time or adjust water levels during the operation or just open up anytime you wanted to add clothes or more soap... No... These are very sensitive electronics that have issues when the washer process is disturbed in any way!!!(6) This is the way you have to treat these washer, pay attention... Open up lid, add soap, put clothes or whatever your washing on sticky soap. Add softener ball if you (unknowingly) bought a washer without a softening dispenser. That was us... Never buy from ad in paper, go see it, who knew washers are now made WITHOUT softener Dispensers!!! Then close lid and set settings from left to right and hit start program button. The reason I said program button (Start) is because these junk washers are now like cyborgs, part computer with junk electronic boards as electronics to control functions and operations of a washer which are just basic. After you do that, do NOT disturb in any way! Otherwise YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS AND REGRET YOU EVER BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Resetting only works so many times when it does have problems. I bought this from a local vendor through a sale paper ad. The vendor is not the problem, this is a Amana Corporate issue. Shame on you Amana, I will never buy a Amana product again... Trying to reinvent the wheel?

The Amana gas range was installed new in late 2013. The stovetop flames do not have enough adjustment, either the flame is too high or too low, theres hardly any just right flame settings. We already had to replace the igniter for the oven. That detent position for the oven door where you can leave it cracked open a little and failed within a month or so. I would certainly never buy another one.

I bought a matched set Amana Washer and Dryer in 2000. I have washed and dried three loads a week since I got the machines. They are still in use and working well. I have never had to call a repairman. Thats dependability and quality. Love It.

The Amana washer and dryer came with the apt we rented. The apt had been renovated with new cabinets and appliances. Only the washer and dryer are Amana. Both the washer and dryer (side by side) are full size. The washer takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to wash a normal size load. The dryer takes 2 hours to dry a normal size load. The maintainence people told me Amana machines are very slow and there is nothing they can do. My electric bill is almost $300 a month. I have had many washers and dryers over the years. Never have I experienced this. A normal size load should not take more than an hour. NEVER buy either the Amana washer or dryer. I am actually considering buying my own washer and dryer. Even though having these are part of my rent. I even tried washing a very small load and it still took over an hour to wash and an over an hour to dry in these awful appliances. BEWARE!!!

Bought an electric dryer, model #NED4655EW on 11/22/18. It was delivered on 11/27/18. Used it on 11/28/18. Went to use it on 12/4/18 and it wouldnt dry. Called company and they stated it was past the 48 hr window for return and they would have to send a technician out to service it. I stated to them that I had used it only once and it should fall under the lemon law. Will never purchase another Amana product. Brand new but already needing service after one week. So everyone please know that Amana sells junk!!!

Five week old Amana refrigerator is broken. ‘They’ cannot repair for two days. Over 200$ of food thrown out. House is on market. What a mess. Amana does not care about food loss. Amana does not care about 2 hours spent throwing out food, washing containers; and refrigerator.

WARNING. The Amana clothes washer I purchased does not wash clothes. It moves clothes around and gets some of them wet. I have tried to manually add water to the wash and rinse cycles with a bucket. I recently hurt my back and was not able to manually wash my clothes with this piece of poop. I finally had enough and have upgraded to a automatic clothes washer that agitates the clothes instead of me. This Amana HE washer is the slowest, least efficient, manual clothes washer on the market. I had the piece of junk hauled to the dump before I grabbed the model. It was a Amana HE with no agitator. Should not be sold as a clothes washer. False advertising.

I was the lucky one chosen by a bad quality control department to miss the 30-day requirement for defects. They call it a cosmetic issue. My new side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator (matching the range) has a clearly unaligned door, unaligned according to manufacturer specifications. From the top view it looks like the seals are off... One is wider in spots. However they are stating to me that it is a cosmetic issue beyond the 30-day window. And I DO HAVE PHOTOS. For AMANA to not consider this issue for what it is has been unbelievable to me. They wont replace the door... Nothing. Am I mad? I no longer consider them to be a respectable company. They would rather I have it as it is with bad quality control, using a 30-day extreme rule. So I lose.

My elderly parents purchased a new clothes washer in January and now in May it has flooded their laundry room. Because it is under warranty their plumber said they had to call manufacturer. Amana said it would be 4 days before they could get anyone out and it is still leaking water and my mom uses a walker. Ive called emailed and have been on hold for more than 1/2 hour - no one cares.

Amana freezer (AQF2013TEW03) - I purchased a 20 Cu Ft upright freezer in February 2011. I had a repairman here in March 2011 because I could see light around the outside, right side of the seal. Because the light was on continuously, it kept the inside warm therefore, the freezer ran nonstop for 6 weeks. Now, the inside keeps frosting up on the top. Because it is no longer in warranty, I called a different repair company. The person who came out said that the whole inside of the door is falling part, defective mold and its sagging. The seal at the top of the door is not straight across nor never was. Because the inside door is sagging, the seal was and is continuing to sag. I called customer service for the third time today. They said because it is out of warranty, they wont do anything about it. I told them its been a problem since I bought it and they said that I should have told them within 90 days of the first repair that it wasnt correct. How was I supposed to know that the door/seal werent made like that since I bought it new? They told me Id have to purchase a new door for $403.44 plus tax and shipping. They kept bringing up the no warranty and that it would be fixed if Id have had an extended warranty. I was not offered an extended warranty when we purchased it (which I told them) and they said I should have gotten a postcard reminding me that the warranty period was up soon. I never received the card and and their customer service department doesnt believe me. This is terrible customer service and they dont stand behind their product. Four months out of warranty and Im stuck with a very large boat anchor. Their customer service is awful to say the least. The supervisor is just as bad and they dont give a crap about anything. I will never purchase another Amana/Whirlpool product.

It is Amana Washer & Dryer that came with my house. Does very good job and I can choose water level for small loads. (Newer models do not allow in Calif.) It has second rinse option and dryer works great. Do not want front load washer or fancy model. This is really good for money paid.

Purchased an Amana washer and dryer 4 years ago and the washer has broke down. I only do laundry once a week and it is only my husband and me, not a lot of washing to do and it has already broken down. Went back to Teppermans to see about a new machine but the nice salesman asked if we had purchased an extended warranty and he checked for us and we still have a year left on the warranty. The salesman then told me that they would repair it or replace it. Apparently he isnt aware of the horrible service from the company handling the extended warranties. 45 minutes after I called they sent me an email stating that my claim was denied because of the items that arent covered by the warranty. I guess they have magical powers to be able to diagnose the problem without anyone looking at the machine. Very disappointed with the Amana and will never purchase any of their products again.

I bought a washer and dryer in Irwin at Rosendahls. The first time I used it, it would not work on rinse. The motor would just hum. Called where I bought. Said out of his hands to call Amana. I did. They blamed it on water pressure which I thought was bs. Then I filled up with water with bucket. Then it still would not work on rinse. Called them again. They said they replaced some parts. Took 20 min and theyre gone. They never checked at any time when they said it was fixed. They never ran a cycle ever. I said if it works on wash theres something wrong. They just bide time till warranty runs out.Now Im on a fixed income. It took me 2 and a half years to save for the pair. Im just disgusted at the way I was treated and they dont care they got their money. I tried to add the water for rinse. It just drains out but I have always had to add water to wash because the clothes were always dry on the top. My clothes come out with detergent on then after its done because it never ever has rinsed. DO NOT BUY AMANA ESPECIALLY ONE WITH NO WATER SETTING ENERGY EFFICIENT ONES. THEY DO NOT WORK. Im stuck with it. I live in a trailer which is small and I go to Laundromat. Dryer works great again. DO NOT buy.

I purchased an Amana refrigerator 3 years ago and so soon the compressor went out. I had a 4-year warrant from Home Depot. Some guy, he was not with Home Depot but from an appliance repair store, they hired came out and he was very rude. I would ask him a question about the freon and he would shrug his shoulders. I think this was because he is white and Im Spanish. Lately, since the apartments next door have been empty for a year, roaches have come to my home from there. Because I keep up on roach control, we did not have them before. He found two roaches on the floor and put down we were infested, which we are not. Now Home Depot says they will not fix it. But another repair person says that’s absurd. Even if you have them roaches, they can not get in the compressor.I blame Amana for making cheap refrigerators. Did you know they put cardboard to cover the back of the refrigerator? And I blame Home Depot for not delivering what they agreed. We are going to have to put another tent over our house to get rid of the roaches.

On February 4th 2009, I purchased an Amana front load washer and since September 29th 2010, we have had it serviced four times to replace. First, the door latch sensor; second, the door itself; third, the front panel and fourth, a new motor was installed on August 30th 2011. Now, we still have the error code 3e, which was supposed to be for the motor pop up again on September 3rd and I had to put in a fifth service. This is the worst appliance I have ever bought. I do not recommend anyone to purchase this item. I dont know what I was thinking when I went to the Home Depot. In the past, I have always purchased my appliances from Sears Kenmore and I still have my 12-year-old dryer which is still going strong.

I bought an Amana Model AFI2538AES6 side by side refrigerator with bottom freezer. 3 months after purchase, ice formed in the freezer area below and I couldnt get the door open. Our Amana/Whirlpool electric dryer failed a month before the warranty expired. It was repaired under warranty. Two years later, the heating element failed. I can fix this myself. I just ordered the part that will cost $136. We are a family of three and we dry clothes outside on a clothesline in the summer, so we didnt wear out this appliance.

We bought our Amana side by side in 1980 when we moved to our new house. I believe it is a 24.5 cubic feet. Durability...it is still working excellently and thats a sign of quality. Thats 30 years and still kicking. We never had any repair on it nor have any problem with the cooling system. The only one that gave up was the drinking water line after 15 years of drinking service to my family. Service that I have done was annually clean and vacuum the accumulated dust at the bottom of the refrigerator including clean the drain pan. Thats it. If I need to replace this old workhorse in my kitchen Ill purchase another Amana refrigerator. I shared our experience with our friends around and some of them bought this brand.
