Bought an electric dryer, model #NED4655EW on 11/22/18. It was delivered on 11/27/18. Used it on 11/28/18. Went to use it on 12/4/18 and it wouldnt dry. Called company and they stated it was past the 48 hr window for return and they would have to send a technician out to service it. I stated to them that I had used it only once and it should fall under the lemon law. Will never purchase another Amana product. Brand new but already needing service after one week. So everyone please know that Amana sells junk!!!

Read the small print of warranty exclusions. Who would think a rusting stainless steel finish is not covered on a stainless steel appliance? Our $1200+ Amana AFD2535FES 12 refrigerator started showing signs of rust about two years after we purchased it. Research shows that this can be a problem if inferior stainless steel is used. Customer Service said to try to clean with warm soapy water and a t-shirt. If that didnt work we had to call a service agent at our expense. I have other stainless steel appliances (GE) that do not have any rust and they are much older, in the same room and I clean them the same way. It is ironic because I thought GE was a cheaper made product so intentionally purchased an AMANA thinking it was better quality.

WARNING. The Amana clothes washer I purchased does not wash clothes. It moves clothes around and gets some of them wet. I have tried to manually add water to the wash and rinse cycles with a bucket. I recently hurt my back and was not able to manually wash my clothes with this piece of poop. I finally had enough and have upgraded to a automatic clothes washer that agitates the clothes instead of me. This Amana HE washer is the slowest, least efficient, manual clothes washer on the market. I had the piece of junk hauled to the dump before I grabbed the model. It was a Amana HE with no agitator. Should not be sold as a clothes washer. False advertising.

I purchased the Amana 25.1 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator in Stainless Steel, Model# ASD2522WRS from Home Depot 15 months ago, in September 2010. Two weeks ago, all my food in my fridge spoiled. I noticed while I was pouring milk in my sons cup, something told me to taste it because it didnt smell fresh even though it had over three weeks until expiration. It tasted like sour cream. I am so glad my child didnt drink that. I almost threw up. Also, I had four-day old ice tray in my freezer that was still liquid, my ice cream softened and all my sons popsicles crumbled to my touch. I had to throw away majority of our food and weve been eating carry outs since. I contacted Amana and they told me the warranty was only good for 12 months. They scheduled for a technician to come to my house for repairs. I was suppose to be priority since I was stuck at home without food. I waited all day for technicians to come and/or call. I even tried to call and couldnt get through since their lines were busy. I left a message and received a return call the next day. Amana gave them the wrong phone number. I wasnt given a quote so I asked the technicians directly for a estimate and they said they were going to charge me $129 just to come to my house + charges. Say what now? That is ridiculous.

On February 4th 2009, I purchased an Amana front load washer and since September 29th 2010, we have had it serviced four times to replace. First, the door latch sensor; second, the door itself; third, the front panel and fourth, a new motor was installed on August 30th 2011. Now, we still have the error code 3e, which was supposed to be for the motor pop up again on September 3rd and I had to put in a fifth service. This is the worst appliance I have ever bought. I do not recommend anyone to purchase this item. I dont know what I was thinking when I went to the Home Depot. In the past, I have always purchased my appliances from Sears Kenmore and I still have my 12-year-old dryer which is still going strong.

Amana Gas Range AGR5630BDS - We purchased this range from Home Depot and took delivery in Dec 2014. In October 2016 the oven began to shut down after about 30 minutes cooking time and an F2 code showed in the display. Weve had the service tech here 3 times. An oven temp sensor was replaced but the problem was not solved. We then replaced the top ECR module and still the problem exists. Now however when the oven shuts down there is a spewing of natural gas and we have to manually shut the oven off and throw open a window. We are stuck with a stove that wont work and is unsafe, and we are out of about $300 over the price of the stove. We cannot sell it and are hard pressed to afford a new stove. We called Amana and they had a so what attitude. I know that we will never buy any Amana/Whirlpool product again.

I have purchased several washers of this model over the last few years. Never again. I have had to have a service tech out to repair it five different times. They have replaced a coupler, transmission, motor, solenoid and issue of not emptying. I purchased the five year extended warranty because the one year warranty was up by about three months when the first one broke. So the repairman came out to fix it. It was going to cost me more than replacing it with a new one (that keeps breaking). I will never buy an Amana again.

Purchased a new Amana Washing Machine, top loader. Repair personnel just left. Oil was leaking from underneath the front. They said, Two to three weeks for new motor and other parts. I was told to continue to use it. My concern is that if there is no oil how can the motor work and the motor is the main part with additional parts. How can I continue to use it? This is a safety concern. If motor has to be replaced because the oil is gone, wouldnt it overheat causing a fire hazard, or further damage to the appliance?Updated on 09/25/2015: The repair technician just left, after a six week wait for six new parts including motor. Everything below the top. It had leaked oil onto the floor. No water damage. Just the motor and all its internal parts. This was a brand new product not a refurbished product, so I paid full price. After the ninth load of clothes this happened and less than ninety days I had go without using my washer. To my dislike I havent been offered a new product replacement nor reimbursed for my inconvenience. Im having Trust issues even right now on using my newly repaired new product. This is concerning to me. It is for this reason that I would have to rate this product a ZERO.

Three of my Amana appliances are not working. The Amana washer is 4.5 years old, the Amana oven and dishwasher are 6 years old. I understand that appliances break down but three so soon and at the same time????? Shame on Amana. Do not buy Amana products! I just paid $170 for a diagnostic evaluation to tell me that the repairs will cost me over $750. The issues I have with all three are common with other customer issues, yet the company does not issue recalls. I bought the stackable washer & dryer. If I end up needing a new washer, I dont know if I will be able to get one that will properly fit under the Amana dryer. I will never ever buy an Amana product again. Their products are defective and they do not care about customer service.

I inherited an Amana fridge from a deceased aunt. It worked great for a year. The fridge was a couple years old. She had an extended warranty when fridge went warm and would not cool. Repair came and replaced jazz board and didnt look at anything else. It was unplugged for a few days and worked good for a couple weeks and voila, fridge went warm and we lost all the food. Repair came in 2 weeks and replaced a condenser and nothing else. Fridge was unplugged and worked fine. Three weeks later, its warm again. Repair screwed up and canceled my appointment and we lost more food. Repair came a week later, replaced compressor and a copper line, added freon and checked for leaks. It worked for three more weeks and then it went warm again. Repair came back 2 weeks later and could not find anything wrong except it lost its charge. He called Amana and they had him check for dye leaks inside the fridge near the seams. Voila, there is dye. One, am I eating dye from it leaking in the fridge on the food?! Two, what dumdum puts copper tubing in the walls of a fridge so they cannot be reached? Three, why didnt repair guys check all lines and seams in the first place? Fridge was deemed unrepairable. After countless hours putting stuff in coolers, losing food, etc, I have to buy a new fridge. The warranty company was very helpful though and covered the food loss and repairs, but we are waiting for a call to see if they will help with a new fridge. If you buy Amana, buy the warranty. By the way, if you unplug the fridge overnight, it will work fine for almost a month!

We bought an Amana refrigerator #ABD2533DEB in Dec 2004. We have had it for 7 years. Its just 2 adults in our house, so the fridge is like new. We just paid $95 to find out the compressor is shot. The cost to repair will be $800, $300 for the compressor and $500 labor. We were told that the compressor that failed had been made in China and that there have been many issues with these compressors! We were assured that all new after market compressors are now made in Korea with far fewer issues. We lost everything in the freezer and most of the fresh food in the fridge. Amana & Maytag need to do a much better job standing behind their products! Based on what Ive read, we will never buy another Amana! We will also advise any friend looking to buy a new appliance.

Our Kenmore Elite (made by Whirlpool) upright freezer died after 5 years. To me thats a short lifespan. We purchased a new Amana upright freezer (also made by Whirlpool) to replace it February 18, 2018 and today (June 11, 2018) now refuses to freeze anything. It runs constantly but will not freeze even though its set to deep freeze. Called for a repair which is coming tomorrow so Ill see how this plays out. Probably a nightmare. In addition and while dealing with the freezer our Whirlpool refrigerator has now also died at 9 years. Again doesnt this seem a bit short? The Consumer Reports and others say 10 to 15 years is normal... so honestly is Whirlpool now building junk?Updated on 07/12/2018: I wrote an initial review on June 11 about my experience with Whirlpool. This is an update: I just want you to know how completely disenchanted I am with Whirlpool products. We purchased a Kenmore Elite freezer (made by Whirlpool) approx. 5 years ago and it died prematurely last February. Then in February we replaced it with an Amana freezer (also made by Whirlpool) and it too has died now after 4 months. THE REPAIRMAN CAME TODAY AND HE CANT FIX IT. In addition our Kenmore Elite refrigerator (made by Whirlpool) has also died prematurely two days ago and it also can’t be fixed. So right now we have no freezer and no fridge and it’s going to take days to figure out what the next move is... replace??? So who pays for all the food product we have lost?? I’m absolutely disgusted with Whirlpool products. In communicating with Whirlpool their attitude was lack-lustre. It goes through a process that takes days to complete and weeks to get a replacement if they even agree to do that. In the meantime we have lost hundreds of dollars in food and no-one cares. Never again will I buy Whirlpool.

This washer and dryer set has been great thus far. Very easy to use and actually isn’t loud. I can fit a good amount of cloths in it, including large comforters. I had never used Amana brand and hadn't heard a whole lot about it, so I was hesitant at first but I am glad I did. Only thing I see that could be an issue down the line is the dryer door; if handled roughly I could see the the spring needing to possibly be replaced. Overall great product for a good price. I am pleased.

I bought an Amana frontloader (Model #NFW7200TW) 4 years ago at Home Depot. Machine stopped draining and started showing error code (nd = not draining). I called a repairman, and he diagnosed the problem as a bad relay for the pump. He said because the relay was encased in resin on the back of the control panel, I would have to buy a new panel. Later, when he called me to give the part number, he said that the part was on a nationwide backorder and would be $400.00 when it became available on 10/15. I did some checking online and found that the part W10273828 is in fact on back order and no one has one. It seems that this means that this part is a definite weak link, and this model should be recalled. On this site, there are several posts with the same problem.

I am a renter. The apartment space came with a basic Amana gas range. I experienced large flare ups. Come to find out the previous tenant tried to clean by lifting the top - like every other stove in the world and broke the fittings causing a gas leak. There were no instructions available to indicate that this stove cannot be cleaned, and the very act of lifting the top, which is not restricted in any way, breaks the tubing that houses the gas. How are people supposed to stay safe with this stove? It will be repaired, what about the next tenant? There were several flare ups, almost explosions. The repairman said we were lucky.

I recently bought a new home where the appliances were part of the package. They were all brand new so I figured that all was well. I bought liquid fabric softener to put in my rinse cycle, but I ALWAYS kept missing that cycle. I finally sat upstairs next to my laundry room and waited and listened. My washer NEVER fills up with water for the rinse cycle. My clothes have been having soap residue on them for months! This is BS! Plus, the lid always locks so that you can NEVER see how the machine actually washes your clothes. After realizing that my washer never rinsed my clothes I got online to see what other complaints I could read about this company and Im not the only person who said that their clothes never rinse. What sense does this make??? A washer that doesnt rinse??? This company should be ashamed of themselves. Now every time I wash my clothes I have to go upstairs and do a separate rinse cycle. Hello my roommate bought a used Amana washer because the other Amana washer didnt work. She paid 200 for it... And found out it didnt spin. So she spent 100.00 more. Then the door would not close for it to turn out. She arranged for another certified Amana repair guy to come... He traded the door with other broken machine. The door closed and it turned on. He did not stick around long enough to hear the spin cycle sounding like a helicopter... And still delivered your clothes on the wet side and not very well washed. So 450.00 later we still have a broken Amana washing machine and the repair man said he fixed the door problem and it would cost more for him to look at any other problem. Its heavy but if I can I will throw it in the trash... Or put it online for salvage. Expensive lesson. Never buy another Amana after the first one broke down? But no one asked me...

I purchased a brand new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Dual Action Agitator (model NTW4516FW2) in July 2018 from Home Depot. The product has completely stopped working after just over 2.5 years of normal usage in a small household of 2 people. According to the repair representative, the controller has stopped working and needs to be replaced at a cost of more than $500 which would be more than the price paid. The product lasted less than a quarter of the expected lifespan of 12 years. I called for the Amana technician. A & E couldnt make it over until the following week, so we called a local repairman. $182 later, new fan, the refrigerator is fixed. Its only 15 months old! Our old Amana is still running since 1997. We have never had troubles with a refrigerator in our 35 years of buying appliances. Now I see on reviews of compressors going bad. Appliances are not made well and we will be lucky to get 8 years out of this Amana with cheap parts. There go our landfills. What can we buy that wont cost hundreds to fix? We have never had to buy extended warranty. This is a money maker for Amana (Maytag, Whirlpool). It’s a lesson learned. I’m very dissatisfied. I feel we deserve to be compensated for this breakdown, especially since it acted up during the 1st year of warranty. We shall see if Amana can make it right.

We purchased an Amana side-by-side refrigerator-freezer seven years ago with an integrated water and ice dispenser. Several months ago, I woke up at night to the sound of running water. When I reached the kitchen, I saw that the appliances LCD had burned out and water was flowing from the water dispenser. A design defect allows the switch that controls the water to open when the control panel fails. Our home has inch hardwood floors in the kitchen and adjoining living room and dining room. Unfortunately, the floor boards with the standing water bowed; Where the water had gathered in the dining room, the water seeped into the boards and required replacement. The entire floor had to be refinished, stained, and sealed.

If you must buy an Amana product, get an extended warranty and keep extending it for as long as you can. Unlike the folks who make these Amana products, the Assurant Solutions service protection people are a standup group. Its clear from just a little research that this product (Amana ACS3350AS) had design and manufacturing flaws from the start, including oven and broiler igniters that dont last more than a couple of years. Unsafe overheating of exterior oven surfaces. A poorly placed computer control unit that overheats with the rest of the oven. Since they stopped making the computer, less than six years after we purchased the thing, its dead. Amana argues that the California state obligation that parts be made for seven years does not apply in this case. They consider it seven years from the date of manufacture and not purchase or it seems like they are saying we didnt buy it when we bought it. Run from these people if you have a choice. The warranty company (Assurant) is paying $720.00 for the oven we spent $1,000.00 in 2006. I believe I spent $200.00 on extended warranty until 2014. No money on five repair visits. You do the math. Please keep in mind this is the same corporation that owns Whirlpool, Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Consul, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Gladiator. Collecting brands, not customers. Consider the service youll get.

Stay away from Amana. The cheap, plastic handle on my 2-year old Amana dryer broke off. I sent them an email asking them to replace it, as most reputable companies would happily do so for a customer. They took several days to respond and then asked me for the date of purchase. When I provided that date, they replied saying that they would not replace the part as the warranty had expired. They then directed me to their replacement parts webpage, where they were asking for $32.49 for a replacement part. Within 30 seconds, I found the same part being sold on Amazon for $4.99. So not only are they unhelpful, but they are trying to gouge the very customers who purchased their products in the first place. I will not be purchasing any Amana products in the future and highly recommend that you do the same.

In July or 2015 I purchased a side by side ref from a small dealership. The ref was delivered 1st part of Aug. Called dealer a few days later stating ref was not working properly - wasnt making enough ice and cubes were small. Dealer came out and adjusted ice maker. Called back few days later requesting my money back. Still having issues with ice maker and ref was sweating and dripping moisture on panel between ref and freezer. He came out again said a cardboard panel had to be replaced in back of ref. Also stated getting my money back was not an option as he was not going to be stuck with a used ref. When he returned with cardboard panel he found out that they had sent wrong replacement part. After that he would no longer come out and refused to take my calls. So I began calling Amana direct. I first asked for my money back since the ref was less than 30 days old when I started having trouble. I was told that my warranty only covered repair or replacement. They arranged for a repairman to come out.In Sept. the ref was deemed unrepairable and a replacement was ordered and arrived Oct. 8. Within a week or so I was again calling Amana. This ref was not cooling properly. Ice was forming on inside wall of freezer and ref compartment was too warm. To keep this from going on forever let me say 2 repair companies and at least 8 repair trips later this 4 month old ref is still not working. One person from Amana suggested that I just keep my food in another ref. All the other representatives sympathized with me and called to schedule a repair appt. All I can say is that this ref is poorly designed and Amana Makes JUNK. I will never buy another Amana product and I am sorry I paid cash for this one.

Purchased a brand new PTAC for my apartment. Unit was professionally installed and vibrates so bad it rattles the grates inside the window the unit is mounted under. The unit is less the 30 days old and Amana claims I will have to pay for the diagnostics and labor to fix or replace the unit. Their claim is the unit cannot be returned after it is installed. The warranty is worthless if you get a defective unit, and you will be paying something to have it repaired when it breaks or if it even works correctly after installed.

Purchased an Amana top loading washing machine in December 2018 from Home Depot. It worked well for about a year. Then after that the issues began. Stopped cleaning clothes completely, leaving them soaked and dirty. Began making horrible loud sounds constantly, it would get stuck on certain cycles and not complete others, it stopped agitating clothes all together. The control panel was completely out of whack by August 2020 and basically beyond repair (per more than one repairman). It stopped functioning altogether by December 2020, which is exactly 2 years after the original purchase date. So I was then forced to purchase yet another washing machine (not Amana). Amana washing machines are a total waste of money and they do not last!!! I regret purchasing one big time...I learned the hard way how poor quality they really are. Do not buy.

Thats 30 years and still kicking. We never had any repair on it nor have any problem with the cooling system. The only one that gave up was the drinking water line after 15 years of drinking service to my family. Service that I have done was annually clean and vacuum the accumulated dust at the bottom of the refrigerator including clean the drain pan. Thats it. If I need to replace this old workhorse in my kitchen Ill purchase another Amana refrigerator. I shared our experience with our friends around and some of them bought this brand.

Bought a Baking element for my stove. Over a month to receive. Call a service tech to install to find out that I did not need to replace it on my stove. I called Amana customer service to find out how to return the brand new part. I was told to send back in same box with a return authorization that would be emailed to me. I went to the post office and mailed per the instructions given to me but instead of it costing me the same $7.95 that Amana paid to ship to me, I was charged $29.15!!!! My entire refund is only $51.63 so half of my refund is being absorbed in returning because Amana will not provide a return label!!In the end my refund will equal half of the $47.00 price of the part alone???? When I called the parts department customer service they smugly advised, Well you have to return in our box but you could have shopped around for the best shipping rate???? This is a scam and why Amana/Whirlpool is going down in flames! Cheap shots like this to innocent customers who have been loyal to their brand for years. Two years ago my washing machine died. I bought it used and had it for 17 years. Out of necessity, I purchased the Amana top load he washing machine. It does a terrible job cleaning the clothes and now makes a metal on metal grinding noise when agitating. On my old machine I replaced the clutch in the transmission by myself (6 years before it finally died, Im female and now 50+ yrs. old), on this new Amana, I cant even get the agitator off to even begin diagnosing the problem. In 2002 bought Amana Distinctions top load washer and electric dryer. They worked great for 11 years with zero problems. The dryer still works. The washer died because when I started hearing a strange noise a couple of weeks ago, I didnt do anything about it and kept using the machine. Then during a load it started smoking. Turned out a bearing or gear or something went bad and the belt got out of alignment and running like this killed the transmission. I really wish I had called the repair person when I first heard the noise because the repair is too expensive to justify. I have really loved the no frills controls, stainless steel wash tub, and extra-large capacity. So disappointed. :(

I bought a house last year that came with new a new Amana washing machine and new Amana dryer (matching set). They are both junk, this is the worst brand you can buy. The washing machine is the worst, my clothes come out dirtier than they were before running the wash. The technology also does not allow you to start running the water before putting the clothes in, which is a design issue and it may contribute to the reason the clothes do not get clean. The other problem, which is huge, it puts holes in new clothes and linens, without fail. All of my stuff is coming out with holes. I am going to put negative reviews out everywhere I can to warn people not to buy these junky products.

We got a good price on an Amana side by side with ice maker and water dispenser from Home Depot. But the ice dispenser door failed--a cheap plastic assembly--and fixing it would cost 1/4 the cost of the refrigerator. Then the plastic frames on the glass shelves started falling apart--they are constructed so that stress cracks are inevitable. They cost about 1/8 the cost of the refrigerator each. Then the refrigerator itself started to deteriorate on the inside--it is very flimsy. Total piece of crap. I purchased this Amana washer in March 23, 2015. In February 27, 2016, this problem occurred: I turn on the washer, but as soon as the wash fill ups with water, it does not move to wash and it does not lock to start the wash cycle. The water drains and then I have to start the wash all over again. So I thought it was the lid switch, and my solution was to push down on the lid hard enough until I heard a click sound. This worked for several months. Another problem occurred on August 12, 2016: my load would complete the cycle, but when I open the lid, I clearly see that the clothes are soaked so this means that during the drain/spin cycle, the speed was too slow to fully squeeze out all of the water from the clothes. So my next solution was to start the drain/spin cycle only, but again. With all these problems that keep coming up, we decided to use our warranty, so we called in to have the washer repaired. We called HHGregg to repair the washer, and we gave all the detailed information as to the problems and the possible fixes to it. Their representatives solution was to replace the washer because they deemed the necessary repairs to the washer as costing more than the value of the washer. Well, we were shocked, because this washer is only 18 months old, so how could its value decrease so quickly in under 2 years? I researched and found that the drain/spin and lid switch is a very common problem with Amana washers. So we understood that we got what we paid for. So back to the washer replacement with HHGregg. They shipped us a new washer for around the same price of our old purchase.Again, we purchased the first washer in March (we got a St. Patricks Day Sale Price), and now were getting this new washer that is smaller and still is an Amana. HHGregg refuses to repair it, they would rather give us a washer that is smaller in capacity and would most likely last for a year but no more than 2 yrs. In a nutshell, we were screwed over by HHGregg, because they saved on repair costs, and gave us a washer of lesser value than what we originally started with. Oh ya, we had to pay on taxes, obviously, so they profited from that too. AMANA WASHERS ARE TERRIBLE!!! Save your money and purchase a more reliable washer!!!

We bought an Amana oven from Home Depot in July 2010. We did not purchase the extended warranty package. You would think when you buy an appliance that you would get, at least, five plus years out of it. Well, in September 2011, our oven stopped working. We had the gas company come to check out the gas that we smelled. He said that the fire ignition is no good. So, we are two months past the warranty and this oven needs to be repaired. Needless to say, we are not happy and the gas representative said that he would never get an Amana oven. The consequences are that we have to pay someone to fix this and it will probably cost about $250. Does Amana make these to break down on purpose after the warranty period ends? Seems like an incredible coincidence to me. We may just get a new oven at this point and it will not be an Amana. When you purchase an item like this, you should have the confidence that it will give you a decent amount of time and 14 months is not acceptable.

With that understanding, I arranged service on the dishwasher. The repair guy replaced the part for $150.00 and I got a total bill for $243.00 for service, labor, and part. I contacted Amana to ask them what the next step was to get reimbursed for the $150.00. Well long story short, Amana backed out of their word and said that they were not going to cover the part now, even though a supervisor orally agreed to cover the cost of the part. Our 7 year old Amana Bottom mount fridge started making the sound of death-
Our 7 year old Amana Bottom mount fridge started making the sound of death-- the start overload /relay clicking every 3 minutes and the compressor not running. I tried replacing the start overload/relay just in case that would fix it. It did for a week and now the fridge is dead. Testing the compressor leads shows the compressor is dead. Replacement cost of a compressor here is $500 parts plus $350 labor. I am told by service technicians that the compressors in not just Amana but most all current energy efficient fridges are conking out on average between year 7 and 10. So those of you wanting to save money and save the planet should rethink scrapping your older fridge to be green and save energy because you are going to end up paying less in electricity costs but lots more in financing costs on $1,000 fridges that last 7-10 years. Plus you will be filling up the pockets of appliance salespeople with your money while filling up the scrap yards with all those dead but energy efficient fridges. Maybe they can recycle the metal into toys to sell offshore?I saved an estimated $50 a year in electricity by using a new energy efficient fridge. I paid $1,000 in 2004 buying the first fridge and now 7 years later, I pay another $1,000 for fridge #2. Repeat as required every 7 to 10 years. Fortunately, I was home when the fridge conked out so I could move, beginning to thaw, frozen food to my 1960 vintage chest freezer which continues to hum along. Just think what fun it would have been if the fridge conked out while I was away on a 2 week holiday? Conclusion, bend over and take it as no current manufacturer makes a fridge that lasts like the old ones did.

I purchased a new Amana Dishwasher at BrandsMart on February 28, 2015. Had the dishwasher installed, used it a couple of times, dishwasher wont turn on at all. Couldnt take it back to the store because of the cost of installing, uninstalling, etc. Less than a month after purchase, I called Amana Service. They dont have their own service department/technicians, they subcontract with local repair companies. I got assigned Flamingo Appliance. It is now almost one month from the time I called in for a repair and still have no working dishwasher. Major board has to be ordered, part takes forever to arrive. Day before installation appt., Flamingo calls to cancel, part damaged. It goes on and on. STAY AWAY FROM AMANA and also stay away from BrandsMart. This is the second [and last] appliance I purchased there and had problems with right away. Something just isnt right with all of this. Obviously brand new appliance is defective.

The brand new stove made noises and no one helped me with a repair visit. After a long time on hold a technician was suggested and the person refused to come look at the range. I had to call the store and spent a lot of time trying to find someone who would help. The store would not replace the range even though it was brand new.

I am really upset that I have to keep resetting this machine. I have lived in my house for 16 years and the washer I had before lasted years with no problems. Then I buy a Amana washer and have had to reset it so many times. Its terrible, the warranty dont last. Its costing me more to get it fixed than it costed in the store. Now I see why it was so cheap to buy. I am so pissed. I would not refer anyone to this product. I will never buy Amana products again.

When my Amana fridge was delivered I noticed a lot of scratches on one side and a dent on the other. I immediately contacted my salesmen and sent him pictures of damages. Waited weeks for response and was offered a small credit. They were not willing to replace the fridge. I contacted Amanas customer service and got no satisfaction at all. Stuck with a scratched up and dented fridge! Amana - NOT a good buy.

In 2007, I purchased an electric ceramic top slide in range model acs4250-aw. It was installed in a vacation home and used four to eight weeks per year and is still in pristene condition. In July 2011, the ERC timer panel short circuited and burned, rendering the unit nonfunctional. We have made extensive inquiries through the internet and through other sources by phone and have failed to find a replacement panel which we come to find is no longer available. After talking to Whirlpool Corporate Office, as a last resort, we were advised unceremoniously and without the least attempt to appreciate our dilemma that the part was no longer available, and that they had no process to mount a search for this part and that there was nothing they could do to help. So, we had purchased a $1800.00 plus range bearing the AMANA name which is now useless except to hang towels on. We will never buy a product from the Whirlpool group of companies again.

We purchased a new home in 2013 and had Amana appliances put in home. We figured since Amana had been around so many years that they would be a great choice! WRONG! The washer is a nightmare! It will not spin clothes on any cycle without going into a huge across the floor thumping dance! It doesn’t matter what size load either! It simply will not spin without going unbalanced. It slams so hard it has scratched up the dryer sitting beside it! NEVER will I purchase another Amana product! From the sound of these comments, it will do no good to contact the company! And this thing has been doing this straight out of the box!! Dont buy Amana!!! Very disappointed from Cottonwood, Alabama!

Bought my Amana top-loading washer in April 2014. Most of my laundry isnt deeply soiled, so didnt think much of it for a while. However, becoming more obvious now that my clothes are not getting clean enough. I garden and have a dog, so sometimes get socks soiled and dirt on clothes when dog jumps up. My whites are not white and the soiled areas dont come out. I had my previous Whirlpool washer over 20 years and didnt have this problem. Have checked the manual to be sure Im using right detergent and loading the washer correctly, but hasnt solved the problem. I liked the price, capacity, and no-frills model of the washer I bought, but not happy with the cleaning results. Dont want to have to buy another one, and always thought Amana was a reliable brand, but I personally could not recommend to others.

Purchased an Amana washer and dryer 4 years ago and the washer has broke down. I only do laundry once a week and it is only my husband and me, not a lot of washing to do and it has already broken down. Went back to Teppermans to see about a new machine but the nice salesman asked if we had purchased an extended warranty and he checked for us and we still have a year left on the warranty. The salesman then told me that they would repair it or replace it. Apparently he isnt aware of the horrible service from the company handling the extended warranties. 45 minutes after I called they sent me an email stating that my claim was denied because of the items that arent covered by the warranty. I guess they have magical powers to be able to diagnose the problem without anyone looking at the machine. Very disappointed with the Amana and will never purchase any of their products again.

I bought a washer and dryer in Irwin at Rosendahls. The first time I used it, it would not work on rinse. The motor would just hum. Called where I bought. Said out of his hands to call Amana. I did. They blamed it on water pressure which I thought was bs. Then I filled up with water with bucket. Then it still would not work on rinse. Called them again. They said they replaced some parts. Took 20 min and theyre gone. They never checked at any time when they said it was fixed. They never ran a cycle ever. I said if it works on wash theres something wrong. They just bide time till warranty runs out.Now Im on a fixed income. It took me 2 and a half years to save for the pair. Im just disgusted at the way I was treated and they dont care they got their money. I tried to add the water for rinse. It just drains out but I have always had to add water to wash because the clothes were always dry on the top. My clothes come out with detergent on then after its done because it never ever has rinsed. DO NOT BUY AMANA ESPECIALLY ONE WITH NO WATER SETTING ENERGY EFFICIENT ONES. THEY DO NOT WORK. Im stuck with it. I live in a trailer which is small and I go to Laundromat. Dryer works great again. DO NOT buy.

I have been a loyal Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid customer for close to 50 years now. My 7 year old French Door Amana Refrigerator still works fine, but has a product defect, the heater. Ice forms on the bottom of the Freezer compartment, and if not removed every 3 weeks (manually defrost) it will melt and run onto the floor. I had it repaired 1½ years ago for $503. Less than 8 months later the problem reappeared. There is a class action lawsuit for this well known issue. But Amana refuses to act. I called Amana and they told me they would gladly send a repair person out to look at the issue - AT MY EXPENSE!!!! Thats all they will do. Yesterday I bought my first Non-Whirlpool appliance, a GE refrigerator. I will never buy Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag or Kitchen Aid again - NEVER!!!

Last year I purchased a new Amana washer and dryer for our home. I chose to buy new because of the factory warranty included with new appliances. I was sadly mistaken to believe that Amana would honor this warranty. I was told that even though we live about 30 to 40 minutes outside of the largest city in state of Oklahoma, there are no service providers in my area! This means that I have two choices, I can either find a way to transport my broken washer to an approved service provider at my own expense, or I can pay a local repairman and be reimbursed up to $150.00 in about 6 weeks. These are my options?!! My washer is brand new, why should I have to pay when its still under warranty? I have no way to transport my washer! Its huge. I would have to rent a truck twice to drop it off and pick it up. My only option is to pay for the repair and wait over a month to be reimbursed. I asked them why they would only repay me $150.00 if repairs cost more than that, but I was only told that it shouldnt cost over that amount. So now I have to go a family members house to wash school clothes for my daughters and decide which utility bill can wait so I can fix my NEW washing machine. My advice, dont buy Amana, they will not stand by their warranty unless its convenient for them. I will never buy from them again.

I have a Whirlpool GS395LEHS range/oven that is 14 years old. It was only used regularly for about 5 of those years, then as an extra oven for holidays. A code appeared recently that meant the membrane is bad. Cant use any oven function now. Tried to get a replacement, but Whirlpool doesnt make them anymore. So my range is now junk. Looked online at Amana ranges and found many negative reports about them. Looked a little more and discovered that Amana and Whirlpool are one in the same. I will not purchase either of them as a replacement. Im not mad that the membrane went out after 14 years, I am mad as all get out that I cant purchase the $32 part to fix it. I hope Whirlpool/Amana execs get it through their thick skulls that consumers want products that can be repaired. If they want to put their noses up in the air and continue as they are, they can watch GEs sales go up. GE does carry parts.

In December of 2003, I purchased a drop-in Amana range model #ACS4250. The oven recently abruptly stopped heating. The repairman informs me that the part needed to repair the oven (electronic control #77001240) has been discontinued.Who does that? Who discontinues parts? I called Amana and they helped me immensely. They connected me with the sales department. As if I would be fool enough to buy another product from a company who discontinues a small part that is vital to the operation of one of their major appliances in order to force a customer to replace that appliance. I dont think so.I am an 81-year-old woman who takes extraordinary care of my appliances. This range looks as though it should be on the showroom floor and now it’s junk. The only help I got from Amana was an offer to sell me a new range or a suggestion to call around and try to find someone else who might have that part lying around.By the way, I spent most of the afternoon on the telephone doing exactly that – all to no avail. That part cannot be found. Amana should be ashamed. One of the persons I talked to actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to understand that this is The wave of the future. This is technology.I hung up.My new range will be anything but an Amana – Maytag, Whirlpool – or anything connected to them. They are a disgrace.

In the summer of 2018 we bought an Amana gas dryer. For 2 years it worked great then suddenly no heat. On 11/3/20 I researched the parts we would need to fix this issue. We found, through research, that we would need either a new solenoid or a new thermal fuse and new thermostat. We decided to replace all 3 rather than choose wrongly and have to wait for the correct part.On 11/3 I contacted Amana support via the email provided on their website because their website did not list our particular model of dryer in order to determine part #s. On 11/11 they responded asking for my address, phone number, serial #, date of purchase, etc. On that same day I responded and said, No just give me the parts #s so we can move on with our lives. Finally on 11/21, they responded with a link to parts #s. The problem was we already replaced the dryer. We understand fully that Covid is causing delays everywhere in responses to emails but 18 DAYS??? This was utterly ridiculous. We will not be buying any further Amana products to ensure we will not have to deal with this customer service department again.

The touchpad membrane control has failed several times in the 10 years that I have owned an expensive Amana range. Amana replaced the part at the first failure but I had to pay thereafter. Each repair costs $100.00 for parts--relatively inexpensive because I do the repair myself. This failure should not happen. Amana is no longer the quality manufacturer that it once had been. A year and a half ago we purchased a brand new dryer (Amana tandem 7300 dryer) from Home Depot. As we were renovating our home, we continued to use our old appliances until our new laundry room was completed. The new washer and dryer stayed in a spare room, in its original packaging. This past weekend (July 5,2014), we hooked up our brand new, high eff. washer and dryer, only to find the dryer didnt work properly. It would go on for a few seconds, was really noisy and then stop, and repeat again. We called in an appliance repairman. He stated that the motor was faulty and would have to be replaced. $150 for the motor and $150 for the labor. I called Whirlpool (Amana), who said they would pay to have someone check it but that was it. Obviously, it wasnt checked properly at the factory in the first place, because if the motor was blown before we even used it, what kind of shoddy workmanship is going on. Im sure this doesnt happen often, but when it very obviously hasnt been used at all (as our repairman stated). Why could they not send out their own serviceman to affirm this and then, at the very least, give us a new motor while we would pay for the service call. I dont think we will ever buy Amana/whirlpool ever again. Very shoddy company.
