Fan for use of oven is very loud. Fan for top of stove is also noisy. One element in oven needed to be replaced. Downdraft causes the kitchen to be cold in winter as it vents to outside. Door has drips between glass with no safe access for cleaning.

I called in to purchase 2 grease filters and a charcoal filter with a light bulb for my confection oven and they no longer support their products. I have model ACo1180AB which is ten years old this year. When they discontinue their items after 12 months they no longer have to support the items they have sold in the past. As a consumer this is unacceptable. Do not use your hard earned money to support this type of company. This is the same as if you purchased a brand new car and your front head lights are no longer working and you call in to request parts for your car so you can drive it on the road but find they no longer have those headlights so you can not use it any longer. The unit works but you can not use it because they do not support their product because they discontinued the manufacture of those items..

I inherited an Amana fridge from a deceased aunt. It worked great for a year. The fridge was a couple years old. She had an extended warranty when fridge went warm and would not cool. Repair came and replaced jazz board and didnt look at anything else. It was unplugged for a few days and worked good for a couple weeks and voila, fridge went warm and we lost all the food. Repair came in 2 weeks and replaced a condenser and nothing else. Fridge was unplugged and worked fine. Three weeks later, its warm again. Repair screwed up and canceled my appointment and we lost more food. Repair came a week later, replaced compressor and a copper line, added freon and checked for leaks. It worked for three more weeks and then it went warm again. Repair came back 2 weeks later and could not find anything wrong except it lost its charge. He called Amana and they had him check for dye leaks inside the fridge near the seams. Voila, there is dye. One, am I eating dye from it leaking in the fridge on the food?! Two, what dumdum puts copper tubing in the walls of a fridge so they cannot be reached? Three, why didnt repair guys check all lines and seams in the first place? Fridge was deemed unrepairable. After countless hours putting stuff in coolers, losing food, etc, I have to buy a new fridge. The warranty company was very helpful though and covered the food loss and repairs, but we are waiting for a call to see if they will help with a new fridge. If you buy Amana, buy the warranty. By the way, if you unplug the fridge overnight, it will work fine for almost a month!

I recently bought a new home where the appliances were part of the package. They were all brand new so I figured that all was well. I bought liquid fabric softener to put in my rinse cycle, but I ALWAYS kept missing that cycle. I finally sat upstairs next to my laundry room and waited and listened. My washer NEVER fills up with water for the rinse cycle. My clothes have been having soap residue on them for months! This is BS! Plus, the lid always locks so that you can NEVER see how the machine actually washes your clothes. After realizing that my washer never rinsed my clothes I got online to see what other complaints I could read about this company and Im not the only person who said that their clothes never rinse. What sense does this make??? A washer that doesnt rinse??? This company should be ashamed of themselves. Now every time I wash my clothes I have to go upstairs and do a separate rinse cycle. How stupid is that?

Now they want to put in another compressor that will probably not work either. 3 weeks without a refrigerator and I cant afford to go out to eat all the time. We purchased the Amana refrigerator 8 years ago from Alabama Power Company and we have multiple problems over the years. For example, the ice maker sometimes dispenses the ice and sometimes it will not. Also, we have not the water valve intake gone bad and saturated our carpets. We had replaced it at the tune of approximately $300 and time off work having to wait on the repairman. Now, once again it has gone bad and we are again waiting on a repairman. I am very disgruntled with this since we did pay good money and continue with practically a new refrigerator which should last many years.

My Amana appliance is 11 yrs old and maybe I expect it to last longer, but I had to have it repaired in the last two years twice. They just dont make things like they used to or maybe it is the country they make them in. I had a bottom freezer Sears refrigerator, I think it was a Kenmore brand and when I moved out of my house it was 19 yrs old, running good. But I didnt want to move it, because it was so big and I was moving to an apartment. It really is a good refrigerator, just not one that lasts a long time. I expect a $2000.00 refrigerator to last at least 20 years if you take good care of it, like vacuum the places required and keep it clean.

I bought this washer so I could do large quilts. But I was told now that this new Amana HE large capacity washer without center agitator has a water limit of around 17 gallons so if you want to wash a large load or quilt, think again. Im attaching a hose because I have a laundry tub and adding water. If you dont have a tub, you may want to find a machine that has something called large load or something. I set it on an extra rinse because you cant even see the water so how clean is that? Im talking about a half load. Amana dryer, less than 2 years old, doesnt heat anymore. About a $300 repair for a $600 product. Do you remember your parents replacing appliances as often as we have to? I dont. Garbage in and here is your garbage out Amana/Whirlpool. At first when I called, I was told they dont even make the model even after I repeated several times off their own sticker. Then all of a sudden, they do make it once I mentioned that Home Depot may be selling knockoffs of their products. All of a sudden, oh yes, here it is. What a joke. They keep telling me that they are all consumers too and understand my frustration. They arent willing to do anything about it though. On November 23, 2011, my 2007 Amana French door, bottom freezer refrigerator model # AFI2538AES began making a loud popping noise, touch pad panel lights flashing, and cooling stopped. The popping noise was from the ice maker flap opening and closing. The HV board needs replaced, Whirlpool Manufacturer #12920710. I contacted Amana to order the part. The service rep said it is on backorder until February because they have been pulled from the shelf and are being revamped. When I asked if the part would be covered by Amana, since a part needing revamped was essentially defective, I was told no. Requested to speak with supervisor, who states she didnt know where I had heard that the part is being revamped but occasionally, they have difficulty finding manufacturers to produce parts and was certain this was the circumstance. I was told there were no other complaints like mine documented. Amazingly, however, the supervisor was able to locate the backordered part, which the service rep, the parts department and two independent repair shops were unable to find. I expressed my concern that the part found, only three in stock, may be leftover from the stock requiring revamping, rather from the previous manufacturer and not of the same quality of the part which may be produced and available in February. I suggested they reimburse for the part. They declined. I suggested they reimburse should the replacement part need replaced. They declined. I thought of more suggestions but didnt feel they were appropriate to express. Whirlpool/Maytag/Amana should recall the bottom freezer refrigerators with the HV board #12920710 due to defective or faulty part or incompatibility with these refrigerator models.

We got a good price on an Amana side by side with ice maker and water dispenser from Home Depot. But the ice dispenser door failed--a cheap plastic assembly--and fixing it would cost 1/4 the cost of the refrigerator. Then the plastic frames on the glass shelves started falling apart--they are constructed so that stress cracks are inevitable. They cost about 1/8 the cost of the refrigerator each. Then the refrigerator itself started to deteriorate on the inside--it is very flimsy. Total piece of crap. I would not recommend anything Amana to anyone, or Maytag, or any of their other brand names.

We purchased an Amana washing machine. I noticed that there was a bad odor in my utility room that was so strong it even came out in the other parts of the house at times. We had no idea where the odor was coming from. We check the septic system thinking maybe that may be where it was coming from and even had the septic pumped out. Still the odor kept coming and we could not figure out where the odor was coming from. Then we noticed that the water was not draining all the way out of the washing machine. It just sits in there because it does not spin out all of the water. I tried to get repairs done on the machine but they would not do anything because they said my warranty had run out. I am very unhappy with this product.

In 2007, I purchased an electric ceramic top slide in range model acs4250-aw. It was installed in a vacation home and used four to eight weeks per year and is still in pristene condition. In July 2011, the ERC timer panel short circuited and burned, rendering the unit nonfunctional. We have made extensive inquiries through the internet and through other sources by phone and have failed to find a replacement panel which we come to find is no longer available. After talking to Whirlpool Corporate Office, as a last resort, we were advised unceremoniously and without the least attempt to appreciate our dilemma that the part was no longer available, and that they had no process to mount a search for this part and that there was nothing they could do to help. So, we had purchased a $1800.00 plus range bearing the AMANA name which is now useless except to hang towels on. We will never buy a product from the Whirlpool group of companies again.

Bought this on 5/1/2018, was delivered 5/8/2018. Called service because of how wet things were and dishwasher walls were extremely wet. First repairman said there was nothing wrong. Called the company and they sent a different repairman who found that it needed a new control panel, that the heater was not coming on. That was replaced on 5/24/2018 and I am still having issues with wet dishes and very wet walls when the cycle is done. I have had other dishwashers and none of them were wet when done. I think I got a lemon and have been trying to get the company to give me a replacement, even if I have to spend a bit more money. I am disgusted with the performance of this Amana product and would never recommend it to anyone.Updated on 06/15/2018: So disgusted with my new Amana dishwasher. After calling and having repairmen out 4 times I was told nothing more can be done. The is fact that my dishes and silverware have to hand dried after the cycle is done and the interior of the dishwasher is very wet. The last repairman told me its because of the thin plastic that is used and the heat is not as high is the problem. He said that after it is used for a while the walls will become seasoned. What a bunch of crap. My old dishwasher had a plastic interior and I never had to dry anything. I am so sorry I bought this dishwasher. I will never recommend Amana to anyone. I would like to dump this piece of junk on your doorstep. I have sent other emails on my problem to which I never got a response. Ignore me and I still will not go away.

My husband and I bought a brand new Amana front load washer in May of 2009.
My husband and I bought a brand new Amana front load washer in May of 2009. Last week, March 5, 2011, it broke. It began buzzing. When I went to check it, the washer has an “ND” code and it would not open. The first girl I spoke with was Samantha. She told me that she couldnt find that code in her computer (on the net is says it means no drain, most likely true), but she told me how to get the washer to unlocked. Eventually, it did work. My washer still had dirty water and soap in it. I handled the soapy mess and later washed my clothing at my in-law’s house. When I called back to talk to them about why my washer wouldnt work and what they could do to help me, I was told nothing. I spoke to a manager and was told the same thing. The only thing they were willing to do was give me a warranty plus one. Meaning, that I get this repair fixed and one-year warranty on the piece of junk in my basement. My washer wont be 3 till May. There is no reason for it to be broken. I also did my own research and many people have complained about the same problem. I feel that this washer should be recalled or at least the company should fix it at no cost to the consumer. This seems to be an on-going problem with this model. We bought thinking this we were buying from a good company. Now, Im stuck with a scrap pile till I get the repair guy to come out, thanks to a warranty that I have to pay for out of pocket.

Amana washing machine model NTW465OYQ. We bought this Amana washing machine after losing our shore house in hurricane Sandy. It is only 2 years old and is rarely used since it is in a vacation home. The machine already needs a new control board since the cycles do not advance. It will wash over and over forever and never advance to rinse or spin, even when the dial is turned manually. Between the repair call and the cost for the new control panel, the total to fix it is more than we paid for it. In December of 2003, I purchased a drop-in Amana range model #ACS4250. The oven recently abruptly stopped heating. The repairman informs me that the part needed to repair the oven (electronic control #77001240) has been discontinued.Who does that? Who discontinues parts? I called Amana and they helped me immensely. They connected me with the sales department. As if I would be fool enough to buy another product from a company who discontinues a small part that is vital to the operation of one of their major appliances in order to force a customer to replace that appliance. I dont think so.I am an 81-year-old woman who takes extraordinary care of my appliances. This range looks as though it should be on the showroom floor and now it’s junk. The only help I got from Amana was an offer to sell me a new range or a suggestion to call around and try to find someone else who might have that part lying around.By the way, I spent most of the afternoon on the telephone doing exactly that – all to no avail. That part cannot be found. Amana should be ashamed. One of the persons I talked to actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to understand that this is The wave of the future. This is technology.I hung up.My new range will be anything but an Amana – Maytag, Whirlpool – or anything connected to them. They are a disgrace.

I bought an Amana washer from Best Buy in January 2015 which has a 1 year warranty. I realized it doesnt rinse on any cycle. It runs water in to rinse but as soon as it fills and stops running water in, it runs the water out and spins. I have called the # for it to be repaired but we are still waiting for a repair man. I just hope it will be repaired before the warranty runs out. Dont know what else to do.

We bought the Amana washer and dryer 8 months ago. We were very pleased at first as to how silent the washer was. Then we started to notice that the washer was taking longer than usual to wash a regular load of clothes. I didn’t think anything of it until it started making the worst noise I have ever heard, it sounded like the drum was going to come out of the whole shell. I called ABC Warehouse where we bought the set and they told us that it was under manufacturers warranty and to call the warranty service. I called and they set us an appointment for the service repair center, which is Lewis Appliance in my area, which these people are worthless. He came in and lay on the floor and did some things to it with a machine and told me that they had to order the part and it should only be a week or two but I could use it in the meantime. It has been a month and a half and I am still waiting to get it fixed and it is still beating itself to death worse than ever. I called Whirlpool today and got into a screaming match with the customer service department and then the supervisor, to no avail. I told them its beating itself to death. They told me that if anything else breaks on it then they would continue to fix it until it is pretty much no longer repairable. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS. THEY ARE JUNK!!!

Amana Wide Dryer - I have purchased the dryer less then 50 days ago and the timer is already bad. This is the customer service ladys response after I say the timer is bad and they still have to order the part so it will be a few more days before it is fixed. I have already had to go to the laundromat once because 5 people live in my home and 2 of them are boys that are 8 years old. It has cost me more money at the laundromat than it does on my electric bill in 2 months. Im sorry but if you spend hundreds of dollars on something, it should work more then 50 days and you should understand not everyone can afford $40 twice a week to go to the laundromat. I will never ever purchase a appliance from Whirlpool (Amana) again after the way I was treated on the phone today. Her best response is We are gonna fix it. Its under warranty. Well yeah duh, I paid for a warranty. On the plus side, ABC Warehouse was so embarrassed that they gave me a extra year warranty on them. Sad I wont be telling my friends anything nice about you company but ABC is tops at customer service. Maybe Whirlpool employees need a course. Im not asking for my money back but give me a different dryer or give me the money to go to the laundromat. Ugh, people stink.

I bought a new range for my daughter. We received the order, the range was working fine for about 2 days. All of a sudden the only thing that worked was when you turned the knob to high the display showed (as that had stop working as well). The element and the oven would not work and the display shut off if you moved the knob off of the High position.I called Amana and they were closed, I called Best Buy where I bought it and they sent out a replacement. Problem 1 - the replacement took 4 days due to a pandemic going on in our country, so we were not able to cook anything for 4 days! Problem 2 - the day we received the replacement, as soon as we plugged it in, it was doing the exact same thing as the last troubled machine! I call Amana, the COMPUTER guy walked through troubleshooting steps that I had already done, and then says I will send a tech out to you. Problem 3 - Said tech cannot come for 3 days! Problem 4 - my daughter and I live in 2 different states so what did Amana do? Send the tech to my house! Problem 5 - I call Amana, they apologize but tell me there are NO techs in my area to come out not even at a later date because of the pandemic.... SO WHAT exactly do they do to fix this.... Problem 6 - NOTHING besides apologize!I found out for this model there are several defects! I called Best Buy to get a replacement but DIFFERENT brand and am told by the rep I spoke to she has gotten nothing but calls about this exact model and it has defects! Long Story short... In a middle of a crisis... do not ever go with AMANA! You will be left to die of starvation as you cannot cook a single thing (we do not do microwave things, nor do we have room now in the freezer for said items as it is filled with meat to COOK)!

I just purchased Amana Dishwasher Model # ADB1700ADS through HD online. As noted by another reviewer, this model has a serious engineering flaw. It does not have an exterior handle attached to the body of the door. The model has been designed so that you are forced to pull on the underside of the black plastic control panel. You can see the panel flex outward (more than .25 inches) under the pressure needed to open the door. I tried opening the door by pulling on the outer door corners and from the top edge without success. There is absolutely no question the plastic control panel will break due to material fatigue - and it will break either fast or slow depending on how often you pull on it and how hard you pull. I recommend you buy your own stainless steel door handle from any appliance parts store and install it yourself. It will cost you about $30. Amana may have saved themselves $10 (for this same part) but they will take a ding to their reputation and have a lot of unhappy customers in the future. If Amana took into consideration that in buying a dishwasher, it is not just the cost of the dishwasher for the buyer - it is also the cost of time lost from work waiting for an install that never happens within the time frame given, install fees, taxes, delivery and haul away fees. There is a lot of time, effort, and money involved in buying a dishwasher. So much so, that the buyer would not blink to pay that $10 with an upcharge to prevent the destruction of the control panel of a daily use item they dont want to have to repair or replace for years to come. As others have noted, this particular failure will not be covered under the manufacturers warranty. Otherwise, the dishwasher is noted to work properly, is better suited for a smaller family, holds fewer dishes than others of the same size, has a very long cycle, and is hoped to be of similar quality to that Amana has been noted for in the past -- with the exception of this one very serious defect. We dont really know about the quality, because it has not been out long enough to have proven itself. I would have given the dishwasher a 2.5, a 2 is too low and a 3 is too high, considering the time, effort and expense I have put into purchasing it, the day lost for install, and finding and installing a handle to safeguard the most expensive component to repair - the control panel. Once the control panel goes, it will be cheaper to buy another dishwasher than to repair it, IMO.

During the rinse cycle, the water pumps in and out at the same time. No agitation. One year warranty on machine, so the company will not replace for free. My brother and I have contacted them repeatedly with no solution.

I am a renter. The apartment space came with a basic Amana gas range. I experienced large flare ups. Come to find out the previous tenant tried to clean by lifting the top - like every other stove in the world and broke the fittings causing a gas leak. There were no instructions available to indicate that this stove cannot be cleaned, and the very act of lifting the top, which is not restricted in any way, breaks the tubing that houses the gas. How are people supposed to stay safe with this stove? It will be repaired, what about the next tenant? There were several flare ups, almost explosions. The repairman said we were lucky.

Purchased a new Amana Washing Machine, top loader. Repair personnel just left. Oil was leaking from underneath the front. They said, Two to three weeks for new motor and other parts. I was told to continue to use it. My concern is that if there is no oil how can the motor work and the motor is the main part with additional parts. How can I continue to use it? This is a safety concern. If motor has to be replaced because the oil is gone, wouldnt it overheat causing a fire hazard, or further damage to the appliance?Updated on 09/25/2015: The repair technician just left, after a six week wait for six new parts including motor. Everything below the top. It had leaked oil onto the floor. No water damage. Just the motor and all its internal parts. This was a brand new product not a refurbished product, so I paid full price. After the ninth load of clothes this happened and less than ninety days I had go without using my washer. To my dislike I havent been offered a new product replacement nor reimbursed for my inconvenience. Im having Trust issues even right now on using my newly repaired new product. This is concerning to me. It is for this reason that I would have to rate this product a ZERO.

Amana only guarantees their product for 12 months. I found most mfrs also have reduced their warranties to 12 months, however I have several Frigidaire refrigerators that have lasted many years. I have a Amana dishwasher in my rental house and it stopped circulating water at about a year and half - I tried to get some type of concession from Amana for parts and labor going through their service outlet. The answer was a complete NO due to the fact that it was out of warranty. This dishwasher just stopped circulating water one day and didnt get the dishes clean due no water spraying on the dishes. I personally went underneath the dishwasher and gently tapped the circulation pump and it began to work. My years of experiences in the automotive field tells me that this is a manufacture defect with their motors where the manufactured motor has a flat spot in the rotor that will stop in a certain location and stop working at times. This failure was produced at the manufacturer and if I am right they too know that it is their responsibility to take care of the defect but the almighty profit or dollar cost is more important than customer service of honesty. To this I say I hope Amana goes out of business because I think it wont be too long that it will go out of business due to the fact that they are already under Whirlpool. I learned my lesson - if the product is cheaper than everyone else what can you expect? It sure wouldnt be your moneys worth, not even at a year and half use.

In 2002 bought Amana Distinctions top load washer and electric dryer. They worked great for 11 years with zero problems. The dryer still works. The washer died because when I started hearing a strange noise a couple of weeks ago, I didnt do anything about it and kept using the machine. Then during a load it started smoking. Turned out a bearing or gear or something went bad and the belt got out of alignment and running like this killed the transmission. I really wish I had called the repair person when I first heard the noise because the repair is too expensive to justify. I have really loved the no frills controls, stainless steel wash tub, and extra-large capacity. So disappointed. :(

We have an Amana refrigerator model ARB2557CSR. We have had it for 8 years. We have had a few repairs over the years, but last night took the wind out of all of us that witnessed the door fall off the hinge and break the contents that were on the door. If anyones foot would have been in the area, it would had sliced it off or crushed terribly. The door was opened and for unknown reason, dropped off onto our slate floor. If our grandson would have been near, he could have been crushed. I checked the hinges and sprockets, and it still didnt make sense. After reading other remarks about doors in consumer reviews, I am one to be added to the list. This door was one large door, not double door. It was heavy. Please be aware of this defect. I am looking at other models, yet similar malfunctions have occurred that reviews have stated. Really a frightening experience. We will be looking at other models, yet not really confident about any. Hope this helps.

They were extremely rude on the phone and refused to take it back. Not when I call the new repair company told me it would be fixed the day after Thanksgiving, following up today they now say the part is on backorder until next month. We purchased a basic model Amana refrigerator A9RXNMFWB01 in June 2010, delivered in July 2010. The refrigerator was making a lot of noise the past few months. We didnt realize the fan was not working properly. When the fan quit, the food was still frozen in the top freezer. But the refrigerator compartment would not go below 50 degrees. I called for the Amana technician. A & E couldnt make it over until the following week, so we called a local repairman. $182 later, new fan, the refrigerator is fixed. Its only 15 months old! Our old Amana is still running since 1997. We have never had troubles with a refrigerator in our 35 years of buying appliances. Now I see on reviews of compressors going bad. Appliances are not made well and we will be lucky to get 8 years out of this Amana with cheap parts. There go our landfills. What can we buy that wont cost hundreds to fix? We have never had to buy extended warranty. This is a money maker for Amana (Maytag, Whirlpool). It’s a lesson learned. I’m very dissatisfied. I feel we deserve to be compensated for this breakdown, especially since it acted up during the 1st year of warranty. We shall see if Amana can make it right.

Amana microwave brand new lasted 17 months. Cheaper to replace than have it fixed - labor and parts service call. Amana dishwasher brand new had it four years. First issue was the clasp on door. When you close it it broke. Second issue water did not drain out and no power. Fuse need to be replaced plus the mother board needed to be replaced. Labor parts and service call cheaper to replace. Last appliance gas oven. When you turned oven on to preheat it would never reach the desired temp. I would turn oven off and turn it back on and temp. would be what I had set it at. The.problem was the.panel at the top of oven where the clock and temp settings are that needed to be replaced. Same thing with parts, labor and service call. In late 2017 we purchased an Amana Electric stove top, oven and dishwasher, a Whirlpool vent hood and a garbage disposal. To date (3-1-2019) the only thing that has worked properly is the garbage disposal. These were not top of the line, but were not bottom end either. The dishwasher never worked and the motor had to be replaced right after it was installed. The stove top had a burner that didnt work, and the burners wobble. The oven also never worked correctly, and they had to replace the sensor, element and core shortly after it was installed. Now just a little over a year later the vent hood motor is having problems, you turn it on and the speed goes up and down by itself. I called the customer experience line, and of course since it is just now out of warranty they will not do anything about it. We bought, and had all of the appliances installed from a reputable dealer who has been in business many years, and we were happy with their service, but I will never buy Amana or Whirlpool again. Also a word of caution to anyone who has young children, the Amana electric oven has a dangerous design flaw. The air in the oven circulates and blows hot air out the vent at the bottom. If any young children were to touch this it would burn their fingers. It is a shame that Amana/Whirlpool obviously has no quality control and uses shoddy parts. Luckily for us we purchased an independent warranty plan for the stove top, oven, and dishwasher, as Im quite sure Whirlpool warranty would be as lousy as their products.

My wife and I bought this Amana washing machine & dryer as a set from Best Buy in Green Bay, Wisconsin, little over two years ago as a Christmas present from me & Linda, to myself & Linda. Just last week (2/9/2016), the wife was doing some laundry. When she closed the door it wouldnt lock, so the machine couldnt start its washing cycle. She asked me to come down. I looked at it, unplugged it, and waited a few minutes, thinking that it would reset itself. I plugged it back in and had the same issue. I turned the dial and there was a huge light, followed by the tell-tale noise of electrical components arching. Then there was a flash of light (from the back of the control panel, followed by a cute little mushroom cloud). I called Best Buy and informed them of what had happened. They said that there wasnt much they could do then transferred me to the customer service manager. She gave me the customer service number to Amana. Upon calling them, I had the feeling like I was bothering them (cold shoulder routine). Like the other complainant stated, Amana has been around for years, figured it was a solid, dependable product. Obviously, it isnt - quantity, not any quality anymore!!! After what seemed like an hour had passed, I finally hung up. Totally disgusted & frustrated with my experience. We both feel like we have been duped. My advice, DO NOT BUY ANY AMANA PRODUCT WHATSOEVER!!! Thanks Amana for nothing. I will not recommend your product to ANYONE!!! Pull your heads out of your **!!! The brand new stove made noises and no one helped me with a repair visit. After a long time on hold a technician was suggested and the person refused to come look at the range. I had to call the store and spent a lot of time trying to find someone who would help. The store would not replace the range even though it was brand new.

I bought my Amana bottom freezer refrigerator (Model # ABB 1924 WEWO) in August of 2010 for over $1100. By July 2012, it was leaking from the freezer. A thick layer of ice had collected under the freezer baskets and periodically defrosted and leaked. The Amana complaint department merely said that the refrigerator was out of warranty and offered to sell me a warranty for several hundred dollars. I refused the warranty and called a repairman who cost me $114. He said that the problem was a factory defect. The workers at the factory had plugged up the drain with a type of grommet called a duck bill. This kept the water from draining and caused the freezing. Clearly this was a factory defect, the result of incompetent workmanship and careless quality control. Of course, quality and Amana have become a contradiction in terms. I will never buy an Amana product, and I warn every other consumer to beware of Amana. In my experience, at the very least, this product is defective, and the company refuses to accept responsibility for the inferiority of its products.

My elderly parents purchased a new clothes washer in January and now in May it has flooded their laundry room. Because it is under warranty their plumber said they had to call manufacturer. Amana said it would be 4 days before they could get anyone out and it is still leaking water and my mom uses a walker. Ive called emailed and have been on hold for more than 1/2 hour - no one cares.

We have had our Amana Furnace and air conditioning for about a month. We have not needed the furnace so far, but the air conditioning has been beyond expectations. Coupled with the Ecobee thermostat, the system is much quieter than any HVAC system that we have ever had. The thermostat runs the fan every 15 minutes and the whole house comfortable.

Warning. This fridge stopped working after 2.5 years with no warranty after 1 year and thrown out. Before this past weekend, I would have rated this appliance high. We bought this fridge for my mother-in-law who is in her mid 90s. It was the perfect size and worked well without any issues whatsoever....until it just stopped working without notice of any kind suggesting there was a problem. We called for warranty and was directed to Whirlpool for service. Apparently model # ART318FFDW wears numerous different brands including Amana, Maytag, Kenmore, IKEA and more. They advised the appliance only came with a 1-year warranty. So we called an independent service guy to service it only to be told that this is a common problem with this model and it would cost over $700 to repair it (they retail in Canada between $7-800 new), advising it was not worth repairing because there was a risk of it occurring again. He provided a report (see photo for screen shot) and suggested we call the manufacturer back as they will be aware of this problem and there may even be a recall. We did just that and they denied any knowledge of problems with this model and there were no recalls issued. And because we did not buy the additional warranty, there was no recourse. I could appreciate having to pay to fix our fridge, since there was no additional warranty, but I was certainly not expecting a 2.5 year old fridge to be unfixable. That the parts would cost as much as replacing the fridge is unacceptable. To make matters worse, Whirlpool offered us an apology with a loyalty REBATE of 15% if we purchased a replacement of any model within the Whirlpool brands, even off a discounted price. Though we were not going to purchase the same model, we thought this was at least some form of recourse and reluctantly purchased another fridge. When I filed for the claim with the code they emailed me, the code was rejected saying Code was already redeemed. I had just got the code a day earlier as this was an emergency replacement purchase, and the code was not working. I reached out to Whirlpool by replying to their email which was a no response email address. I then sent a message through their contact form and many days later still no response. If I dont receive one by the end of the week Im going through the pain of returning it and replacing it with a different brand.Long story short, I dont recommend this model nor do I recommend the Whirlpool brand because of the poor response to a lemon of a purchase.

We bought an Amana Refrigerator in May 2005. It is now 6 1/2 years old and began making noises recently It died last night and the repair will be about $800 or more. This fridge was working fine until recently. Over the past two years my parents and my wifes parents both bought this same model as they liked ours. Hopefully theirs wont die as well. We called a repairman who said that, that year (2005), there were problems with the compressors. From reading other complaints it seems that it is not limited to that year. From researching different refrigerators last night, it appears that the Amana, Maytag and Whirlpool are all exactly the same refrigerator with just a different nameplate on them. Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006 and Maytag had already bought Amana prior to that. So much for Amish people in Iowa making a decent appliance. We are disappointed in Amana. We had my grandmothers refrigerator when I was in high school. It must have been 35 years old and ran fine.

Bought my Amana top-loading washer in April 2014. Most of my laundry isnt deeply soiled, so didnt think much of it for a while. However, becoming more obvious now that my clothes are not getting clean enough. I garden and have a dog, so sometimes get socks soiled and dirt on clothes when dog jumps up. My whites are not white and the soiled areas dont come out. I had my previous Whirlpool washer over 20 years and didnt have this problem. Have checked the manual to be sure Im using right detergent and loading the washer correctly, but hasnt solved the problem. I liked the price, capacity, and no-frills model of the washer I bought, but not happy with the cleaning results. Dont want to have to buy another one, and always thought Amana was a reliable brand, but I personally could not recommend to others.

About a year ago, I purchased an Amana oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Granted, all three were on the economy end of the model spectrum. I have issues with all three. The oven door on after only 4 months started to bind opening and closing. Also, the plastic trim around the oven handle also is cracked and continues to get worse. I called Amana thinking I could get it repaired within the 1 yr. warranty. I was told that the oven door repair is not covered because it does not affect the functionality of the appliance. Really? I think the door has quite a bit to do with the functionality of an oven. Regarding the microwave, the door, also cracking off the plastic trim around the window part of the door. Thirdly, the dishwasher upper rack keeps falling off the track because end bracket on the left side often comes unsnapped. These design (or should I say misdesigned) elements of Amana products should not be occurring. Especially after only a few months of use. Oh, by the way, after my 1 yr. warranty expired a couple months ago, I received a card offering to extend my warranty. You have to be kidding! I have sold my home and I will not have to be living with these inferior Amana appliances for long. I will never purchase an Amana appliance ever again. I used to think made in America meant something.

On February 21, 2018, I bought an Amana electric range from Brandsmart in Miami. In April 2018, the oven light went out. A technician came and replaced the bulb. In July the oven light went out again. Again the technician came and replaced the bulb. In September the same thing happened. The technician came out and replaced a part. It worked from September 2018 until March 2019. On March 25, 2019, the oven light came on by itself and stays on. I turned off the circuit breaker to the range. I turned it back on and the oven light started flickering on and off. Then it came on again and has not gone off, even though the door is closed.I have reported the matter repeatedly to both Brandsmart and Amana. Because I did not buy extended warranty; they both want me to pay an upfront fee of $69.99 to have the technician come to my home; to fix the same problem that he did not resolve 3 times prior. Plus another $69.99 to purchase parts. This is not a new problem - its been ongoing for over a year and they cannot resolve it. I am reporting them to the Consumer Affairs department to get a refund of my $549.00.

This isnt a NEW model fridge. I purchased it back in 1991. Ive never had to repair it. It just keeps on running! Once, my daughter didnt close the door all the way, so the fridge ran constantly all night long and had quit running by the following morning. I unplugged it and let the motor cool down. When I restarted it, it ran like before and has been running since. It still looks good, not new, but presentable. Im holding off replacing it since Ive heard the newer fridges arent made to last. Its not as energy efficient as a new model, but, last I checked, its not an energy hog either.

It slams so hard it has scratched up the dryer sitting beside it! NEVER will I purchase another Amana product! From the sound of these comments, it will do no good to contact the company! We purchased an Amana side-by-side refrigerator-freezer seven years ago with an integrated water and ice dispenser. Several months ago, I woke up at night to the sound of running water. When I reached the kitchen, I saw that the appliances LCD had burned out and water was flowing from the water dispenser. A design defect allows the switch that controls the water to open when the control panel fails. Our home has inch hardwood floors in the kitchen and adjoining living room and dining room. Unfortunately, the floor boards with the standing water bowed; Where the water had gathered in the dining room, the water seeped into the boards and required replacement. The entire floor had to be refinished, stained, and sealed.
