Advice for anyone looking for appliances: DO NOT BUY FROM BOSCH.. We got a microwave from them because it was supposed to be the best of the best. About 16 months after purchasing, the microwave needed fixing so we did it the way Bosch said we had to do it for the parts to be covered. This happened 3 times in a matter of 3 years. The third time, it was deemed unrepairable. After a month of going back and forth with them, not having a microwave, the best offer they could give me was that I had to pay $300 for a replacement microwave. Mind you, it was a $1200 microwave to begin with. So with the original cost upfront, the service costs and what they now want me to pay for a replacement microwave, I’m looking at roughly $2100 dollars on this microwave. And they claim this to be a “more than fair” offer. The customer service will throw you around from one guarded person to the next. They’ll forward you to their “manager” and when you ask for their name and title after finishing a conversation with them, you’ll find out that it’s not the manager and they’ll REFUSE to give you their last name or an email or anything to contact them. Then, when you’ve had enough and you name all the people you’ve spoken with and that you want to speak to the actual manager, they put you on a lengthy hold that conveniently dies on several occasions. https://www.facebook.com/BoschAppliances/

Installed 12/5/2018. Unlike my friends Bosch DW, this one had a top drawer that was diabolically designed to prevent efficient loading with flatware. We called William who told us there was another drawer, and gave us a part # and price, but no free exchange. The next day we called back and ordered this “other drawer”. It arrived Friday 12/28/18. It was the exact same drawer we did not like. We called 12/31/18, and were on hold/ignore for 25 minutes, after which the CSA told us to call back on 1/2/2019. We called back and spoke with Kay **, Customer Support Representative (US/MA-CSCN9), who said there was no “other drawer” and could I get a part number from my friend? Within two days, I did get my friend’s part number, but found out from https://www.bosch-home.com/us/store/accessories/dishwashing/accessories/baskets-and-holders/... That that part is not compatible with my new dishwasher.Since there was apparently nothing BOSCH could or would do for me, I called to return the redundant part today 1/8/19. “Monica” gave me all sorts of flak about how all of this was MY fault, and that they would make no exceptions, and I could return it at my expense, and pay a 25% restocking fee on the wrong part, and even that I would have to wait 48 hours to get a return label sent to my e-mail account. Needless to say, while some lucky people have had good luck with their machines, and some may even have gotten good customer service, I was treated like trash. I now humbly vow I will NEVER willingly buy a BOSCH anything ever again.

I recently purchased a home that came with a 2015 Bosch dishwasher. I had Miele dishwashers for the past 20 years and a always extremely satisfied. Always cleaned well and never had any bad odor. I assumed Bosch would be similar quality. I was sadly MISTAKEN! From day 1 I noticed it did not clean nearly as well. First we started making sure all dishware was put in perfectly aligned. Never overlapping, then we began rinsing the dishes more than we ever had in the past, then we tried changing detergent, then we put the machine to the heavy and sanitize settings, still every time we unload... I have to scrub, rinse or polish the dishes, glassware or cutlery. What a pain. My sister in law complained a few years ago that she found her Bosch appliances awful, I figured she wasn’t “treating“ them properly. Now I understands what she means. In the end it is not a good product and can never be compared to Miele.

I bought a fridge and freezer from Bosch in May. It has so many problems. Every time I called Bosch customer center I was given a case number and was told another service company would contact me in a day or two. However, no company would ever contact me in a month or two. Then I called the company and gave them the case number, they said Bosch never sent them the case. When a technician come finally, he looked at the problem and then said they did not deal with it. I had to call Bosch again to repeat this process.

A Bosch compact pair (each 24 inches wide) has been great for 15 years, and the dryer just died, and I replaced it with this unit so I could still plug the old Bosch washer into the dryer for power. Bosch is only making ventless dryers now, and I bought this against my better judgment because the reviews of the ventless dryers have been terrible. Bosch apparently went to ventless because of new regulations about lint fires in ducted dryers. This dryer is great! The automatic sensor is adjustable for different levels of dryness. It is faster than the previous vented Bosch dryer, and the clothes come out perfect. The fact that the washer spins to 1200 means the clothes are already pretty dry. If your washer does not spin at 1200, that might explain why clothes would take a long time to dry in this dryer. The condensation unit at the bottom of the dryer drains into a hose which empties into the same drain as the washer. (If you have a 3 prong outlet, the manual shows how you can rewire the dryer for a 3 plug cord, or you can replace the outlet) . Some warm dry air is emitted from the dryer and we use it to help heat the house when it is cold. Why waste this source of heat? In the summer I will direct the warm air into the garage or turn on the exhaust fan in the laundry room. In short, we are thrilled with this dryer. We have only had it a short time, and hope it will last as long as its predecessor.

Have had the refrigerator two months and am happy with it. It's so quiet I almost don't notice when it's running even when I'm in the kitchen. The lighting is good on the interior, adequate in the freezer although the bottom drawer is a little dim. Love the layout of the upper space and flexibility with retractable shelves. Items are easy to see and accessible. The depth of door shelves are great with the exception of the two bottom shelves which are so narrow that they will only accommodate small items, (like hot sauce). As other reviewers have noted, the ice maker is painfully slow so plan ahead. I find the ice maker has a very high pitched hum that is annoying so I make ice then turn the ice maker off until needing ice again which works for us. Love the controls, very easy to use and read and the refrigerator responds quickly to a change in temperature. I'm really picky, did my research before buying, and am really happy with this refrigerator.

I purchased this dryer and washer combo because I needed a compact wd set, I actually purchased 2 sets. I'll number my points of why I like/dislike this dryer. 1) It was annoying to have my electrician had to put in a 4 prong outlet. It costs more money than I wanted to spend 2) I had no idea this thing was going to drain onto my floor (it was my error, I was so eager to dry clothes after hanging it outside all summer to dry, so I just ran the load to dry making my floor wet by simply plugging and playing. 3) THIS TAKES FOREVER TO DRY. But it was SO WORTH IT not ironing or finding all my clothes bone dried and wrinkled. I finally caught on the trick of putting it running a longer time and not overloading it. I actually enjoy doing laundry more because folding wrinkle-free clothes and hanging up wrinkle-free clothes was a godsend in my family of 6. I am just happy I purchased 2. Now I can dry clothes and do all my laundry at once. I strongly dislike dirty laundry so so so much. 4) It's Ventless! COME ON NOW, no hole in your wall that you have to cover with foundation plantings that end up burning up and full of lint? THAT'S AN A+++++ in my book. My last dryer was a vented dryer from Bosch, and that thing was ok not awesome because of the wrinkles but the lint buildup was significant all over the duct. I couldn't sleep at night if I knew the dryer was running because I was terrified of a risk of fire. 5) The clothes come out soft, fluffy and light. Like not hard, crispy and extremely, extremely dry. Its just a perfect dryness. 6) The room is warm because of the vent. I love this feature in the winter. In the summer, I'm not inside enough to care but my electrician is recommending an exhaust fan. Nah, I'll just open a window. It hasn't bothered me yet. 7) Its awesome, compact size allowed me to hook it up temporarily anywhere- my kitchen, my basement etc during the renovation. Get one, you won't regret it. You'll even feel more European in the process.

We purchased 3 Bosch appliances when we built our house 6 years ago. The dishwasher and microwave are up to par. All appliances are working. However, our 30 BOSCH gas range is experiencing rust spots on the lower drawer and around the main door. The enamel has come off part of the top of the range. I know from past experience with another dishwasher in my previous custom home, which Sears stood behind, that had rust spots on the door panel. The repairman actually said its a knock off from China and this is not stainless steel. I will say that my opinion is this is the same problem with the Bosch oven. Most people know that magnets do not stick to stainless steel. Well, start testing! Magnet sticks to my stainless steel dishwasher, microwave, range door and range lower drawer which means the appliances are NOT stainless steel. The magnet does not stick to my LG refrigerator which is 10 years old so it is true stainless steel. Since BOSCH and the store I purchase it from advertised these products are stainless steel, I paid for stainless steel. Customer service is not up to par. The customer service rep and a supervisor talked about my business to my cleaning lady as she called them to defend her use of cleaning products as BOSCH tech said my cleaning products must contain bleach. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, Attorney General as I feel this is false advertisement. and to BOSCH, I am glad you recorded the conversation with my cleaning lady as you had no right to speak with her about my business and to make her an offer on my range of 20% off. Total violation of my business. Diane ** in NH

After we paid 89.95 just for the diagnostic they recommend to call Bosch directly. Since may 29-2014, I been calling them to be responsible for the defective item and his response was to pay an extra 1013 more and will get the same that we have right now. After we paid 2200 dollars... Are you kidding? It is a letter from Bosch the we are not going to accept. I hope someone can do something from us and thanks to take couples minutes to read our concerns about Bosch and please make sure you pass this to your friends and family.

First technician who visited my house told me that I need to rewire power cables and they (Bosch) dont do it. I had it done but machine still didnt work. I called again.Second person who came to fix my machine replaced few electronic parts but machine still didnt work. I was promised another appointment that was scheduled in a couple of weeks. First technician came again, replaced more parts but machine still didnt work. Once again I was promised an appointment. At this point, something went wrong in appointment scheduling process as I was never notified. I called and was told one day that was rescheduled and once again I learned about it only by calling customer service. Its unbelievable that the company is still in business really. Huge mess. Better to go with another manufacturer.

I appreciate that Bosch has very high ratings. We may just be the unlucky ones to get faulty appliances, but our experience has been quite the opposite of high ratings. We remodeled our kitchen 5 years ago. We bought all Bosch appliances: refrigerator, built-in oven, induction stove top, microwave, dishwasher. About a year ago (so the appliances were 4 years old), the oven started overheating when we tried to clean the oven or have it on a high bake temperature for more than a few minutes. The oven would shut off and there was an error message on the panel that indicated overheating. We had it checked by the local authorized dealer and made several calls to Bosch. In essence, we were told that it is overheating--thats all! Well, we knew that. This has been going on for a year, and we havent received any solution from phone calls or visits.A few days ago, we tried to clean it again because something spilled in the bottom of the oven. It again overheated and shut down. Today, we were having people over for brunch. We set the oven to Bake with the temp at 400, and put the bacon in. We went back to check the bacon when it should have been done, and the oven and bacon were stone cold! We assumed we had not turned it on properly, so we again hit bake, set the temp to 400, and hit enter. Again, nothing. Our oven is completely dead, and it is just slightly older than 5 years! The oven panel displays all the right settings as if it is heating, but the oven remains cold. Again, with the rave reviews Bosch gets, we expected the oven to last more than 4 years before starting to have problems. As a matter of fact, with the price we paid, along with the reviews, we frankly thought that the oven would outlast us!Now for the refrigerator. Our self-defrost and icemaker have been malfunctioning. Again we called the local authorized dealer/repairmen, who came to look at it. He identified the problem and ordered a part to fix it. That was 4 months ago, and the part to fix it has yet to be shipped to the local dealer/repairmen. So although the problem was identified in August, it is now December and still no solution to our refrigerator. My husband has made several phone calls both to Bosch and to the local number, but to no avail. As you can see, I cannot in good conscience, recommend Bosch appliances to anyone. As a matter of fact, I would highly recommend not to go with Bosch. We have to replace our oven and probably our refrigerator, and we will absolutely not choose Bosch!

Last year, I bought a Bosch dishwasher for near $1000. That was really a smart dishwasher and consented me for operation. I found that some micro and macro cracks have appeared in the top front plate of the set. As I am a specialist and a lecturer in the university, I found that these cracks are a result of humidity and low quality of the top plate of the set. I contacted the Bosch agency in Esfahan, Iran regarding warranty, but only faced very irresponsible statements. Contacting the Dubai agency also had no result. So if you have decided to buy this brand, please be careful.

We bought a Bosch dishwasher SHX series 3 years ago that needed the recall fix. After an hour on the phone trying to get a service call, the repairman was slated for 7am to 5 pm window. When he got here he switched the power cord but the dishwasher did not fit back in slot due to the special new cord. He said I should call an electrician to fix this issue and left. Now I am waiting to pay electrician to fix what the Bosch repairman left me with. BTW the fire and overheating claims started years ago, before we bought the dishwasher, it was not released on the internet that there were serious issues with these devices. I guess Bosch wanted to see how many claims came in before they issued a recall.

I was traveling from MA and was in NYC helping my family member drive to have some tooth surgery done. During my down time went online and as I recently bought the Bosch washer, I wanted to see if there was a dryer out there. Fortunately there was, it was actually an open box at this location, I had a very good experience with the service at this location and also 5* on the product itself too. I went in and was greeting Denise, she was very helpful during the whole process and even allowed my to view the dryer in person in the bay before committing to the purchase. I really liked how quick she got me checked out and was super friendly. I have to give this store 5* for quick and friendly staff. Now back to the dryer. Wow, so nice, best dryer I’ve ever owned in my life. Extremely quite and piggyback ready the washer I just bought too. If you live in a small studio or apt, these are the absolute best washer/dryers you can get for cleaning g and silent operation. One and only drawback, 220v and the hefty type, definitely check your connections first, otherwise! Love it!!!

We bought a new townhome in with new Bosch appliances in Nov 2013. Someone said the appliances were high end. For the past 6 months the microwave has tripped the circuit breaker upon opening the door. So much for high end. We called an appliance company who charged $129 just for driving to our house. After nearly two hours, and speaking to a Bosch technician, the appliance tech said we need a new board for a total of $315, parts and labor! WHY DID IT BREAK DOWN AFTER ONLY TWO YEARS?!! WFMC3200UC Washer NEXXT series - I believe this must be the first front loader Bosch made. If Id known at the time of purchase I NEVER wouldve paid the major bucks I paid. I think its 7 years old. Its too small, takes almost 2 hours to cycle AND smells like mold. I have the top & back panels off to remove the out take drain tube which is visibly covered (inside) in black mold. Problem is the way its put together is like no other Bosch washer. Two weeks ago I found a video online which showed how to remove the thing and today I go to my bookmarks and NO VIDEO. Im about to throw myself on the floor and have a complete meltdown. WTF happened to the video? Ive looked for thirty minutes all over internet to no avail! Its a servicing video I know that and those are hard to come by. Help me lawd! Thought I might feel better writing this however I feel like upchucking. Thanks anyway. P.S. My father purchased a Bosch tankless water heater about 18 months ago. He had a professional plumber install the tank to the specifications that the factory mandates. The unit never did work properly. After hours on the phone with tech support listening to every reason in the book why it wasn't "their" fault , and hundreds if not thousands of dollars spent on a plumber they still will not honor their warranty and replace the unit. The problem with the unit is that whenever you turn on the cold water to make the water warm instead of scalding, the heater shuts off completely leaving you with ice cold water. The factory techs tell us that there is not enough water coming into the unit. Ok easy fix right "just tell us how much water is required". O wait the "tech" isn't allowed to suggest anything like that. My father is so frustrated he wants to take the unit outside and shoot it with a rifle. If there is a class action we want in!!!!!! We then waited 2 months for customer service to produce a code for reordering, during this time we did not have a fridge. We spoke to numerous customer service reps. At which point had an urgent request of the manager(who was the one responsible to place the reorder code on the product) but the manager could not return this request until 2 months later. The customer service reps. Would tell you one thing then another completely opposite until I had recorded it so that the rep could listen to what was said. Once the new item arrived, upon delivery they noticed that the doors were all finished in different finishes. The bottom freezer door was a different finish then the upper doors and the handles were different from the upper and lower doors.(Quality inspection?) So naturally they needed to replace all the doors off of the unit. These two refrigerator somehow passed quality inspection?!? And it was not just that item, our range had arrived with a bronze coloured vent piece that completely didn’t match their black stainless steel and the rep. Had agreed that they don’t know why it was like that...When I told them of this and they asked for the item info on the inside of the unit (with the rep on the phone) I opened the oven door to find a large 8” piece of bent metal with insulation exposed in the interior of our “quality inspected” range! The third party had to write an inspection report on this too even though it was clear as day that this was a safety issue/ and that this item clearly was not inspected. This item as well took 2 months for replacement., it too fell on the shoulders of customer service manager who could not produce a reorder code until 2 months later. And we did not have our range or refrigerator at this time seeing as their customer service team reassured me on 4 separate times that it would be 5-7 days for processing.I would never wish upon anyone to have to go through what we did with Bosch. Months and months of phone calls, and no appliances for months, and how we have been treated. We thought we were buying quality products with a company that could offer customer service. This was not the case. Please do yourself a favour and buy from a company that you can trust. BOSCH is not that company. And No Bosch has not figured out why they have a bronze vent piece on their black stainless steel range and the replacement range arrived with the same bronze vent piece. But at least the insulation was not visible this time. Buy quality inspected appliance from anyone but Bosch!

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Lowes in October of 2016. The configuration was somewhat clunky but we dealt with it. We followed all manufacturer recommendations for use and had no problems until April 2019. After loading it and running it the cycle ended before it should have, when I opened the dishwasher it was full of dirty water and the dishes were not clean. I checked the book and online. Followed the directions to empty the water and check the filters. There was nothing blocking the filter. I tried to run it again, stopped after 10 minutes again full of water. Again followed the steps. Called Lowes. Was told that since it was more than a year old I needed to contact Bosch. I contacted Bosch who claimed the problem appeared to be in the control module. They offered a few (3) Bosch Authorized Service Centers, I called the one that was only 30 miles away (closest), after 30 minutes on the phone with model number and serial number they told me the part I needed was no longer available and if I wanted a service call it was $100 up front and they could not get here for two weeks. My husband found the correct part online, ordered it from Bosch ($110 plus shipping), he installed it and the problem was still there. You turn on the dishwasher and it runs for 30 seconds, then claims it is sanitized. We then called a different repair company and they could not figure out what was wrong. We went back to Lowes hoping for at least the offer of a discount from a new dishwasher. No support, they said we should call a local appliance repair company to fix it. I told them I would call a local appliance company to sell me a new dishwasher. Apparently 30 months is the length of time a dishwasher is supposed to last. Very very disappointed with Bosch and with Lowes.

Our Bosch fridge/freezer is less than four years old, yet the handles both top and bottom developed cracks and then sheared off. Bosch was not interested as they said out of guarantee. Their resolution was to purchase replacements. I thought that one should expect a decent amount of time using an appliance before it broke like a cheap toy. Bosch appliances are not cheap to buy. I have never had this happen before as we keep our white goods for a very long time and they wear out mechanically. One expects an item to be fit for use and this does not come under that category. The people I spoke to said a manager would phone me back within 3 hours. That was two weeks ago and I have heard nothing from them. If they care so little for their customers, I would suggest not buying a Bosch item.

Bought the above dishwasher (Model SHV878WD3N/10) and had it installed 10/15/18. It did not work from the 1st day. A repair technician checked it on 11/2/18 and told us the dishwasher had a factory defect and was not repairable. He contacted Bosch and told me they were going to exchange the dishwasher and I should check back with them in 3-4 days. I called on 11/6 in the morning and was told the exchange had been approved and I would have to wait 5-7 business days for that to be arranged. In the afternoon on 11/6 a customer service rep called me and advised me the exchange was approved and I would have to wait 7-10 business days.On 11/14/18 I called because I had not heard from them and was told that the approval had not been sent to the exchange department and was assured it was sent through that day. Now they tell me I will have to wait another 7-14 days to find out what model the exchange is approved for and when that may take place. Customer service reps are rude and do not provide their name. This was a $884 custom front unit and they are not even telling me I can get the same unit. The customer service at Bosch is terrible!!

We have had dishwashers since 1974 and were always satisfied. A guarantee should not mean that after 2 years machines should start misbehaving. The baskets are rusting even though no objects that could rust were put in there. The light for the main programme failed. The on off - switch failed. We are very disappointed as the very 1st dishwasher we had from Phillips lasted for ages and we only replaced it because we moved house and had a new kitchen. Very unhappy. If you want to replace the baskets you will have paid for almost a new machine.

We installed this new oven last year and decided to run the self cleaning option. We did not pull the telescopic oven tray out prior to running the cleaning option. Apparently the high heat ruined the parts involved with the telescopic action. It would have been nice to have had a warning label on the tray or perhaps the dealer might have mentioned this. Im sure it indicates this in the book so Bosch is off the hook for a $250 tray. The salesman at Mahlander’s in Sioux Falls was a complete jerk about it. No more Bosch appliances for this family.

My wonderful Bosch dishwasher recently stopped dispensing the detergent. Since its under warranty, I have followed all the required steps and jumped through the requested hoops, but have discovered that Bosch obviously does not offer service in our area. Over the past week I have spent 2 hours and 47 minutes on the phone (most of it on hold), been disconnected (with no return call from them) 3 times, and have emailed with no response twice. I have a file number now due to the concerns about no service provider in our area, but that seems to be simply a pacifier, since it has proven to provide nothing. Bosch service is THE worst!

About four years ago, I purchased three Bosch appliances at Best Buy. Oven, microwave and stove top. The microwave does not work properly since the time it was purchased, uneven cooking, takes a long time to heat up or cook food. Bosch technician took a look and said, That is how it works. Today is the oven and microwave, are not working at all. Bosch repair service is costly, diagnose, parts and repairs. Their soonest appointment to repair them will be in two months. I called different appliance repair services, but they do not work with Bosch appliances. I would not recommend Bosch appliances.

A month after and when the technician came to install the part he found out was USED! Didnt clean anything. You had to wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. If you rinsed the dishes they would come out dirty. There was no difference in the normal wash to the heavy duty wash or even quick wash. It was a regular sized dishwasher, 22 inches wide I think. Stainless steel showed every water drip fingerprint and pet nose print. It was pathetic. No assistance from Bosch for its warranty was useless. Changed the motor and no difference. Only thing it was good for is to be run over by a loader to flatten it.

Was told there were authorized subcontractors and was given several numbers. Most of them did not even service my area. Called Bosch and informed them. Even spoke to a supervisor who gave me additional numbers that were not valid. Once again the dishwasher is under warranty but Bosch customer service was very poor. The first time we had Bosch out for a recall issue with the door. They repaired it and re installed the dishwasher crooked and out of level. I called and was told they can schedule it for a few days later. I DID not want to take another day off work so I dealt with it myself. It was a pain! I called them a week ago re draining issues and had to wait a week for them to come out. I received an e mail from them telling me they would call the day before or the morning of the service call to narrow the time slot down a bit. This made me happy. No call yesterday or early this morning. I called them and they said they would check into it and call back. They called back and told me the service guy hurt himself and was not coming. They said not to worry, they can have someone out in a few days. This would be a second day I would have to take off work, I could have purchased another new dishwasher for the 2 days I need to take off. Do not buy Bosch appliances, terrible appliances and worse service.UPDATED ON 11/02/2015: On Oct 6th I sent in a review about how bad Bosch dishwashers are and the service was even worse. Since then they sent a service tech from an outside organization out and the service person said the line was clogged, not a dishwasher problem. I asked why the dishwasher just stopped mid cycle and would not go any further including pumping water out. He said to get rid of the air gap loop the hose up and connect it directly to the disposal and all will be fine. I did as he said and not only is it against the national code, but all is not fine. The Bosch people do not respond to my emails. DO NOT BUY BOSCH PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU ARE A **. There are many similar complaints about Bosch and their products.

I purchased my first Bosch appliance (dishwasher) on 6/1/17 after making note of an Installation Rebate offer from Bosch via a Bosch Visa Prepaid Card. The stated purchase date was required to be between 5/17/17 and 6/7/17, which it was. I immediately completed the rebate form even though the latest required postmark must be by 7/7/17 (over a month away). They promised reimbursement within 8 weeks and gave a website and phone number to check its status. After 4 1/2 weeks I received a typed response from Bosch saying that they were unable to process the request because it did not meet the cash register receipt requirement (not dated within the time period designated for this offer). I immediately contacted Lowes, where I purchased the dishwasher. I spoke with the manager on duty and showed him the copies of the rebated offer, register receipt, response from Bosch, etc. The manager on duty phoned Bosch rebates directly and verified that the date on the receipt was within the required date range. He told me that Bosch claimed that the month of 6 looked like a 5. We found this to be strange because it was obvious to both of us that it was a 6 for June. It was/could also be verified by the date on my charge card. If one person was in doubt, due to poor eyesight, they could of easily asked someone else or used a magnifying glass; which shouldnt of been necessary. Anyway, the Lowes manager spoke with Bosch that it was the correct date, and that they would immediately process the rebate. The Lowes manager said I should receive it within 2 weeks. After 2 1/2 weeks I checked their website for my rebate status. It recognized my information and gave me a tracking number; plus stated I had to allow more time. Two more weeks later, I had still not received it (4 1/2 weeks after the Lowes managers phone call, and 9 weeks after purchase). I checked the website again for status. This time it never recognized my name/address (even though I had also completed warranty information on 6/20/17 after 6/18/17 installation). It never recognized my tracking number that it gave me 2 weeks earlier; and when I called their phone number, it never recognized my phone number. They had now lost all of my information (or so they claimed). I (we) both thought their first excuse was inexcusable, but possibly a mistake; but after the 2nd 4 1/2 week period it gives every appearance of being a scam (intentional). I no longer believe they intend to honor their rebate offers, and just expect most consumers to forget about it, not care about it, neglect to make copies before sent in, etc.; and just pocket the savings (this time for $145).

Have owned many Bosch appliance in the past - all good. This one is the worst ever and I will not buy Bosch again. The design is poor, forget having any ice - its a joke, but 11 months later - it is now broken. The entire defrost system needs to be replaced. So at first big ice chunks formed on the back. Bosch hotline told us to run the defrost cycle. Hmm... how do you do that on an auto defrost fridge? So 4 weeks later the whole thing is broken. The refrigerator no longer cools properly and the entire defrost system needs to be replaced. Of course no parts available - so here we are in the summer in the heat of South Carolina. Third (top) rack for utensils or silverware -- no more bending to load the silver, its waist height and sooo easy to load then transfer to drawers when cleaned. Besides the absolute quiet of the machine the silverware rack is my favorite feature! Its 24 wide -- standard full size under counter DW. Clean lines, Stainless steel finish, Control panel is hidden. There are a couple of options for handle/no handle. I paid slightly more than most major brands -- and it was money well spent. This dishwasher is so much better, quieter, more convenient than my previous two.

I called in Bosch Home at 800-578-6890 mid February. My dishwasher stopped sanitizing after wash. They were very nice to me over the phone and set an appointment with a Bosh tech. On February 23, 2012, he came to my house and told me what I have to change (control panel) and charged me $305. He said that he fixed the problem and left. The same day (evening), my wife came the house to try the dishwasher—same problem. I called Bosch again and they sent back the same tech. Why doesn’t he know his own product? He was constantly on the phone with his supervisor. After he said what the problem was and that it cannot be fixed, he left. I called Bosch again and asked them what we planed to do. Rep from Bosch Home said that they switched company that’s making control panels for them and said that they will not be able to help me! I asked him if you are representing Bosch as a company with a big name and said this is not my problem if they change vendors. I cannot buy every 4 years a new dishwasher based on them saving on vendors! Also, I recommended him to just refund my $305 for the job that was never done. Customer service at Bosch refused to help me at all. Now, I am out of $305 and my dishwasher is still not working. I have to spend more money to buy a new dishwasher! I need help to resolve this matter. Thank you very much.

We purchased a Bosch 800 Series HMB8050 Built-in Microwave on 6/2010. On 5/4/2011, their service contractor changed a blown fuse and again on 10/30/2013. We did not have to pay for these service calls or parts. It stopped working again 2 weeks later. On 12/09/2013, they come out and replaced the PC board, switch, and fan. That cost me $99.00 for the service call. Five days later, the glass plate would not stop turning and light would not turn off. Right now we have it unplugged. When we called their customer service department, they said that this is considered a new work order and that I would have to pay for all service charges and parts which could cost us up to $500.00. We paid $1,100 for the appliance and $250 to have our cabinet adjusted to fit the unit in the wall. In 2010, we also bought a Bosch wall oven and dishwasher and have had no problems with these appliances. This has been very frustrating, highly inconvenient, and very expensive. At this point, we are still trying to figure out what to do next. We either will have to pay to get it fixed or buy a new Bosch!

Our built in microwave 800 series starting having trouble about a year after purchase. The display went dim. We were told it was no longer in warranty so just lived with it. Subsequently the door broke, the fuse blew and the circuit board overloaded and failed/burned out (all out of warranty). The service person came ($200) to tell us the door being crooked from when we bought it caused all these problems because the left and right side triggers were engaging out of sync when opening and closing. The cost to repair the unit would be more than the value of the microwave at original purchase. As for a prorate on a replacement model. Its taken them 6 weeks and counting just to process that request while I continue to get voicemails that a repair person is coming back to fix it (a solution Ive repeatedly rejected as paying over $1000 to repair a microwave is nonsense). Two months of calls to Bosch support several times a week and still waiting to get this resolved. The prorate amount they have offered is a very small discount considering they sold us a lemon in the first place. Very disappointed with bosch at every step and would not recommend the product nor customer service.

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Furniture & Appliance Mart in Madison, WI. This was delivered on 9/16/15 by them. The appliance was professionally installed by our own installer. We ate supper that night & then turned on the dishwasher. It went through one part of the cycle & started making a strange sound that just kept going. We looked at it & saw that we had an E-15 error. This means there is a water leak in the bottom pan. We tried to override & shut this off & could not, so we shut the dishwasher off at the breaker. We contacted Bosch Customer Service & they told us to do something we did not understand. They told us to call back in the morning. We called back the next morning (Thurs) at 8am. They told us Akrit would service this for us & would call us back within 24 hours. I waited around all day Friday & when they didnt call by 4pm, I called Akrit myself. They told me that Bosch never contacted them, but, after searching through something on-line, they found my service call. I told them the problem & Ashley contacted the tech directly & set me up by noon on Monday. The tech showed up on time on Monday & checked out the dishwasher. He did a thorough job & found a small leak in the left rear welded seam. Thats when the problems started. I have a list of times & people I spoke to, to no avail at Bosch customer service. Each one telling me that someone would get back to me within 24 hours. (Joke!) That never, ever happened once! Finally, by 2pm on Tuesday afternoon, we were able to talk to someone at Bosch to set a file (claim) with Bosch. They received a copy of our purchase & a copy of what the tech wrote & told us theyd get back to us within 24 hours. We called again on Wednesday morning. After my husband was told that the person in customer service would not get back to us until at least Thursday morning, we decided to take matters into our own hands. He went into the store of purchase, spoke to the manager, who contacted customer service at their corporate office. They apologized to us & set up a delivery, set-up and new dishwasher & are dealing with Bosch themselves. Bosch Customer Service, in my opinion, does not exist. By the way, our 2nd new dishwasher was delivered, setup & installed Friday afternoon & works wonderfully! This was done only because Appliance & Furniture Mart stepped in & took care of us, their customer. Bosch called us back around 4pm Friday, by the way, 3 days after we set up the claim.

The moment you want to mix hot with cold the heater turns off. Absolutely junk waste of good money. Tore it off wall and purchased a reliable hot water heater conventional. Also Bosch products in general are total crap. Will not purchase and will not recommend. Obviously not made in America.

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher after research for top brands. To make a long story short, just after 3 months, we had problems with the bottom rack staying on the track. All the wheels eventually came off one by one, we put them back on but they still kept falling off. So we bought new wheels, still, the rack never glided or stayed on its tracks. We now have to lift the full bottom rack and place it inside the washer. The wand (attachment for water) comes off during the cycle EVERY time no matter if anything scrapes or touches it during the cycles. The third rack (silverware) rarely cleans anything unless they’ve been hand cleaned before going in. Never ever have I spent so much money on an appliance to have it fall apart and dysfunction after 3 months. Customer service was so unwilling to handle the first wheel issues, that attempting a refund was daunting. I’m not sure if Bosch cares if the appliance works at all, or if maybe they just sell “pretty” appliances to people who don’t cook.

Our four year old dishwasher was issued a recall as some of the plugs were catching on fire. I did as instructed on the recall notice and an authorized repairman came to the house. He said he couldnt get the dishwasher out without damaging our floors and left. I let Bosch know and they suggested that we get a quote to have the granite countertops removed, so that the repairman could get in. I asked for another dealer but they didnt want another repairman. I called our contractor to remove the dishwasher and the repairman came back to change the plug but refused to put back the dishwasher. The contractor came back to re-install the dishwasher and the dishwasher top rack and sprayer were now broken. Bosch got the fire hazard fixed so they are off the hook for that, but I am left with a broken dishwasher and their so called customer service wont respond. Now, I am forced to replace the dishwasher when I as the customer have done nothing wrong. Bosch cares about avoiding a lawsuit, but could give a whit about the customers experience. The company sure does not have the customers back. This whole process has taken weeks and I am completely frustrated.

Purchased a new Bosch French door refrigerator. Two weeks later the ice maker stopped working. Called for service. Noticed the vegetable and deli drawers had frozen everything solid. Noticed all the food in the rear of the device was partly frozen. Rep came out and announced the ice maker was defective, needed to be replaced. Ordered new one. He also explained that the ice maker regulates the temp for the refrigerator. Replaced the ice maker. The ice maker constantly drips all over the refrigerator. The water and ice dispensers do not work well. Ice either comes out at a breakneck speed or not at all. Water sprays out all over the place. Very poor engineering.I still have occasional freezing in the veg drawers. Spoke to the Bosh consumer agent, she was arrogant, rude and generally unhelpful. Suggested to me I not put vegetables in the veg drawers, as they tend to freeze! I asked her if she was planning to send another device out for purpose of cooling the verges. She became even nastier. My opinion, run in another direction if you see Bosch while shopping for appliances. Also, my daughter apparently bought a Bosch side by side and hates it. Rues the day. Wish I had spoken to her first.

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher 1 year ago. Within a month the door started popping open during the wash cycle. I called Bosch customer service and they set up a repair. They know there is a problem so they have a replacement kit called a latch stiffener. Well everything worked fine for the summer months when we return from our six months in Florida. I use the dishwasher another month and the same things started happening. I called customer service and talk to the same woman that I had spoken to last summer. She is very nice and very helpful and tried her damnedest to get me a replacement dishwasher. The company told her since there had only been one repair they could not replace the dishwasher that I would have to have a second repair done on it. So that is scheduled for next week but I also had her note in my account that this is the second repair on the same dishwasher for the same problem as I am now out of warranty. There are only two of us in the house so the dishwasher does not get run that often. When it does work it cleans the dishes nicely and it is very quiet. I agree the racks are not the greatest and they do fall off the track and you have to look them up to try to get them back on but that I can deal with. Running 8 minutes and having the door pop open is not acceptable.

This new oven was installed October 14th and has never worked. Bosch factory repair came out and said there were four things wrong with it and that it should be replaced. After a month of calling, emailing and waiting hours upon hours on hold, Bosch said they would not replace it but attempt to fix it. The repairman came again, again stated that it could not be repaired and that the needed panel was backordered. It is now December and the needed part is not going to be available until after the first of the year. Bosch refuses to replace the oven and does not stand behind their product. I would never buy Bosch again. You cannot get a manager on the phone and the call center reps are belligerent.

I purchased a wonderful dishwasher. It was brand new and with an extended warranty. After 3 cycles, my dishwasher quit registering commands from the control panel. We called Bosch for a services technician. The service technician came 2 weeks after to diagnose the problem. It took another 3 weeks for the parts to arrive. He then said it could not be fixed. The service technician will not call us back and Bosch keeps adding comments to our file. Its been months since we had a working dishwasher. Bosch stated that they need the unresponsive service technician to call us. The store we purchased it from will not take it back because Bosch will not give us a confirmation code. Its been extremely frustrating with no remedy in sight.

Bought both a Bosch Hedge trimmer and a Pressure washer with some money I had been given as a present. I, like many other people, had been brainwashed into thinking that German products were the best and that by buying Bosch, Id be buying a good product. Firstly, the Hedge trimmer seemed ok, used it once or twice until the third time it seized up and refused to work. I took it back to the shop I bought it from and was given a new one. That one too, seized up and blew the RCD in the house. The internals had fallen to pieces (cheap plastic). I took that back and got a Black and Decker instead. Worked brilliantly, and still does ten years on! Pressure washer next. Used once. Seemed ok. Not brilliant but average. Used a second time and the lance fell to bit spraying me in the face!!! Cheap and nasty plastics! Took it back and was given another one. Motor failed on that one after 2 months of average usage! Bosch? CRAP!

We bought a high-end Bosch dishwasher from a big box store three years ago
We bought a high-end Bosch dishwasher from a big box store three years ago and have recommended it to everyone we know. We always loved how quiet it worked, how clean our dishes were, and the cool features Bosch has like the third rack for silverware. However, last week it just quit working out of the blue. Upon further inspection, the Bosch-supplied junction box had MELTED, along with the wiring. A quick Google search indicated that Bosch dishwashers develop mysterious and dangerous problems after three years... when they are out of warranty. As a matter of fact, check their recall record: my dishwasher SHOULD be part of the massive recall since the power box melted (the very problem they were seeking to remedy with the recall), but Bosch Customer Service says it is not. They (falsely) told me they would cover the problem anyway, but then the day the repairman came out, told me they would not only not cover it, they would not even ORDER the part I needed until I could provide proof of ownership. When I did, then they said they would not order the part until a written diagnosis was provided by the tech (who has other house calls to make?). I shudder to think how many more hoops I will have to jump through JUST TO GET THE PART, let alone who is going to pay for it. Ive worked my way up the Bosch customer service personnel list just to get to the same dead end. Bottom line: They have a neat product, when it works. But I wish I had known at the time that its not well-made, it will not last, and they will not stand by it. Oh, and it just might burn your house down as it almost did mine. BEWARE!!!

I purchased the one with crystal wash which had lava rock pellets in it so you you don’t use heat coils to dry your dishes. They come out spot free with finish dishwashing pods and finish liquid (recommend by the manufacturer). I love it???? It's energy efficient more than any dishwasher on the market I think. The dishes simply do not get clean. Even simple things like coffee cups come out still stained. I end up pre-treating the dishes or handwashing especially stained items. Waste of money. I purchased the Bosch model that was around $500 because of their reputation. They sell machines in the $5000 range. These perhaps could be worth the money. This lower priced model was made to appeal to the average consumer and is very disappointing. It is a quiet machine but that wasnt necessarily important to me. I was especially impressed with the 3rd tray at the top for laying silverware horizontally. This allowed the basket on the bottom tier to be removed and seemed to provide more space. Instead, you find that the silverware simply doesnt get cleaned on the top tray. Furthermore, removal of the basket does not truly allow for that much more room. None of my saucepan lids can fit in the bottom tier unless they are loosely placed on the rim of the basket. Standard size, stainless steel and non-descript, but there are other brands just as elegant that actually clean the dishes. This dishwasher was sold with free packets of Finish. The packets never truly dissolve and you are wondering if you just washed your dishes with hot water. When speaking to a maintenance expert he explained the water doesnt get hot enough to melt the plastic and that is where you realize your energy savings. So why does Bosch promote the Finish packets? Are they that clueless about their own product?

We had a Kitchenaid that did not clean the dishes as well as the Bosch (I found this out when I got the Bosch). The Bosch has a better rating for reliability. The KitchenAid I replaced was top of the line and it died at 8yrs old. My wife says the Bosch holds more dishes and is easier to load. One tip, whom ever installs it should read the directions carefully (some plumbers are over confident they know how to install these. End up not getting the drain hose placed properly and the power cord) as these two exit the back of the dishwasher and when pushed into the cabinet they could have a chance to get crushes or tangled up or under the machine. The hose and cord need to pulled to take up the slack as the machine is pushed back in place. The drain hose needs to be 20 higher than where it exits the machine before going to the sink drain. Some folks complain of a foul smell from these machines and I feel the plumbers did not install them right. My sister in law has a Bosch and the cabinet inside stinks awful, mine has No Smell after a month of use. Thats why I feel the install by the plumber is faulty. I always bought KitchenAid but felt the quality has gone downhill and am very pleased with this Bosch... Cleans super well.

I learned Bosch does not stand behind their products. We purchased a house this summer that has a Bosch dishwasher less than one year old. When the appliance failed, Bosch customer service (Shawn ** specifically) informed me that Bosch will not honor the manufacturers one year warranty because I was not the original purchaser. I am not talking about an extended warranty that could have been purchased separately, I am talking about the standard one year manufacturers warranty. I thought Bosch was a premium brand before this experience, but I can assure you they are not at all interested in providing support.

The Bosch dishwasher doesnt dry plastic items. So the moisture in the dark dishwasher leads to bacteria growing - especially if you leave food on the dishes (after scraping). It can lead to a wet dog slobber taste on glasses. You need to wear a hazmat suit to clean this dishwasher. The bins for cutlery and the plastic and metal filter are made of a rough texture which collects food particles. It is nutty to have to wash plastic items by hand, clean the rubber around the door, and scrub the interior parts of the machine. I could wash the dishes by hand and do a better job and faster.

Similar issue here with brand new Bosch double convection oven--control panel and knobs became scalding the first time we used it. It took over two hours for the control panel and knobs to cool down. We keep it shut off at the breaker because the technician said it was just a glitch. Bosch told us if the technician says its safe to use your oven its safe to use your oven--but they refuse to warranty any damage to our kitchen (hello--our us!) if theres a future problem. Because of good reviews we purchased our first Bosch. We were told how durable and outstanding they were. A one year warranty was given with the purchase. After 3 months we had problems with the control panel. Then the pump malfunctioned and a new pump was installed. Within this year we have had more water in the bottom and not pumping out. Called Bosch and they had their certified tech....hmmmm who made three appointments and never showed up. Then when he came it was for a whole five minutes to say we needed a new pump. Three weeks later he came and installed a new pump and was there a few minutes, never checking the complete cycle. It still doesnt drain out, so we called our own tech and he informs us that it is now a complete computer board. Oh we also have had to have our racks replaced as they rusted. Then the new racks dont match and dont have a track to stop the dishes from rolling out. We are through and have made a whole family pledge, never again a Bosch… dump Bosch from our lives and buy American who treats their customers with respect.

Have a Bosch built-in refrigerator with TWO issues related to the icemaker. Have had it only 6 months, but both problems pretty much from the beginning. First of all, it keeps dropping ice into the tray, and the tray overflows because all the ice drops down in the back of the tray, while the front of the tray pretty much stays empty. Had serviceman here twice, and both times he told me I have to keep pushing the ice from the back of the tray to the front. Told me the manual says that. It doesnt.MORE IMPORTANT - there are little tiny flies and an awful smell in our freezer ever since the fridges circuit breaker blew while we were away for a month. Every once in a while Ill see a tiny larva inside an ice cube. Pretty sure there is a nest in the icemaker or water line. Or possibly in the drip tray. The bugs seem to come out every couple of weeks - probably the gestation time for the new eggs that were laid. Weve never seen a live one - only dead. Had both exterminator & Bosch service person tell us we need to totally uninstall the fridge and clean & disinfect. Seems to me there should be a way to get to the drip tray & icemaker without uninstalling the fridge. Have 4 boxes of baking soda - still have the smell.
