The grates on the range have a plastic coating on them and they scorch. I call this a defect and they should replace them, but they want to sell me new grates that they cannot tell me what kind of material they are made of. First of all they should replace the grates for free, why put some material that does not hold up to fire on the grates, and second why would they not be able to furnish me with information on the new grates as to the material they are made of and if they have the same plastic coating on the grates. Why would I want to buy the same junk so it can be an ongoing sale?

My new 500-series dishwasher produces huge clouds of toxic and awful-smelling air--and this from the very first wash. I hired a service person to come in and check the installation. That was perfect. Dishes appear to be steamed rather than washed. Every coffee cup looks dirty when I remove it despite using the 10-minute rinse cycle on days when I do not run the wash. Everything is sopping wet. The smell from the insulation around the unit to keep it quiet, Ive read is so noxious, that it assaults anyone who comes into the kitchen. Even when the washer isnt running, it stinks. Ive tried leaving the door open so that the water can evaporate and things can dry. I have come to avoid the kitchen and find myself eating out and bringing food in rather than generate dishes. Bosch did not respond to my complaint. I regret purchasing a Bosch and Im angry that its off-gasses have pushed everyone out of the kitchen.

Have had three Bosch dishwashers but this is the first time that I have encountered the detergent dispenser not being cleaned out of the detergent tabs that were put into it. It has happened twice so far and I cannot find any instructions that would tell me I am not loading it correctly or something is blocking the detergent dispenser from getting sufficient water to empty its contents into the water at the bottom of the washer and be used during the wash cycle!!!

My washer is a lemon. I have complained so much but it doesnt seem to do any good. Thank God I bought the extended warranty. The last two times goes to show how badly the washer was made. When the repairman came out to fix it, the numbers didnt tell him what was wrong, So he had to start looking for things.A belt was broken like a fan belt in a car, after taking that off, he tried to move the inside around. It still wouldnt move. He then took the motor top off and found down inside a pillow case wrapped around the motor. I was without a machine for 10 days. Now are you ready for this? I didnt get to use my machine for 24 hours and its broken again.

I purchased a Bosch refrigerator in May 2010. I was happy about the design and sizing. The refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser stopped working right way. I called 1-800-944-2904. Customer service was nice and sent me a technician, who said that the refrigerator had a computer failure. He did order the parts and the parts came the next day. The technician came after two days and said that the parts are wrong and ordered one more time. The parts arrived and the technician changed them; nothing was working. He ordered the left door. The door arrived, the technician came and installed the door and still, nothing worked. After several calls and a lot of aggravation, Bosch sent me another door (dont know why). Finally, I have had to send them proof of my purchase and several calls to management before they changed my refrigerator. I was so happy! The refrigerator worked for almost 3 years. Now, it has stopped cooling in the freezer compartment. I called Bosch services again on April 08, 2013. They promised me a technician who can only come on April 13th! I had to ask my neighbor to store my food temporarily in their refrigerator. Today, April 09, 2013, the refrigerator stopped cooling completely! I dont understand one thing - why Bosch refrigerators work for only 3 years? How do I make them responsible for it? They are charging $99 only because the technician will show up at your door. After that, they charge $12 every six minutes! I shouldve done better research first. Now I did, and I dont understand why I dont see any recalls on cooling system failure. It looks like it is the biggest problem in Bosch refrigerators. Im so upset at this point. I work so hard and wasnt prepared to buy a refrigerator every 3 years. Please advise me. I dont know what to do. The repair will probably be cheaper, but how I can trust them?

After only 24 months our convection microwave was chronically broken, even after four repairs, for the SAME problem! On the last repair the Bosch technician told me the problem is the design of the door and the micro switches. The local Bosch is no help and they just keep sending out techs to fix the same problem. Each time we had to wait many weeks to get an appointment, so the outcome is that in the past 4 years our oven has not worked for 7 months!

The dishwasher pump stopped working after approximately 1.5 years. Cost for labor and repair was quoted at $340. I could buy a new dishwasher for that price and it probably will not be another Bosch. Customer service is awful. They keep you on hold forever and it took one week for them to get a technician out. Disgusting. I have never written a review before, but people need be forewarned about the bad quality of this dishwasher.

About a year ago, I moved into a new home and wanted a new refrigerator to match. There were other brands that had similar features that were considerably less expensive, but I assumed that the Bosch would be of a higher quality that would justify the additional expense. Recently some water spilled on the bottom shelf and some of it seeped through the crack and the front of the glass and settled on top of the stringer holding up the glass shelf between the crisper drawers. I tried to figure out how to pick up the glass so I could dry it off but couldn’t find a way. I assumed that it would evaporate and not be a problem but that didn’t happen. Instead, it collected dirt and mildew. I have again tried to come up with a way to pick up the glass so I could clean it, but gave up and called customer support.I asked the girl there if someone could give me instructions as to how to pick up the glass to resolve my problem. She asked my name and apparently checked the computer to find out that my one year warranty had recently expired. She told me that all she could do was send out a serviceman and that would cost me $129. I told her that I didn’t need a service call and just wanted someone to explain to me how to get under the glass. She again said that she would have to send out a serviceman for $129.I told her that it seemed that it was a poor design and appeared that they were intentionally trying to make money by sending out a serviceman. She said “yes”. This caught me by surprise so I asked,Are you saying that you intentionally designed it so you could make $129 by sending out a serviceman. Again, she said “yes”. I spent extra money to get the Bosch, thinking that it would be of better quality with better customer service. I won’t make that mistake again.

After 2h 45mins on the phone and talking to 10(!) separate people with Wayfair and Bosch trying to get the dishwasher I ordered last Wednesday, that was supposed to arrive on Friday, that I then had to call to find out why it wasnt delivered on Friday, only to be told it was on a truck and could be delivered Sat, but Sat didnt work for us so the next available date was today (Wednesday - 5 days late), only for them to now tell me (after having to call back to find out why I hadnt heard anything about delivery), that there is no dishwasher until at best (!) early November!! I am APPALLED at the customer service from both Wayfair and Bosch in not stepping up to solve THEIR problem. When I called Bosch directly, they told me they couldnt talk to me and that I had to call Wayfair back (yet again). Complete runaround. Ultimately I was told that I should just cancel my order and order something else (like this was my fault!) without any offer to resolve the issue. And finally after 10 people, I still have no real sense if Bosch actually has any dishwashers in stock anywhere. While I wanted a Bosch based on reviews for quality, Im not planning on making ANY future orders. If I could give 0 stars I would. A complete waste of time and effort! STAY AWAY!!

Bosch dishwashers have a upper spray arm that often falls off. They have a small easy to lose plug that holds it on. They will not let you just replace the plug or as a courtesy send you one. They force you to buy a new spray arm. You would think that this company would want to back up their products and replace a small plug at the cost of losing future customers. They do not care once you purchase their product but look for more ways to get more money. Very disappointed.

We purchased what we believed to be a high-end Bosch dishwasher (Model Number SHX43 CO5UC). Were a family of 2 and use the dishwasher about every other day. After about 2 years, the pump/motor went out and the cost of repair is approaching $500 plus labor. Bosch, when contacted by phone, said it is out of warranty and we were on our own. One would reasonably expect a reportedly high-end product, lightly used, to last longer. And if for some reason it failed, one would reasonably think that the manufacturer would provide some type of support to make the product work (as designed and advertised) at a reasonable cost to the consumer. Note - this is a $600 dishwasher.

After spending $1,700 on the initial unit, an extended warranty, multiple repairmen visits and two magnetrons, our 14-month-old Bosch microwave caught on fire and is now deemed irreparable. Extended warranty people say we have to collect from Bosch. Bosch says we have to collect from extended warranty. Getting the run around from them both. We had this microwave installed for just over one year when we remodeled our kitchen, including creating a custom built-in location for this microwave. We now have a giant hole in our kitchen island and have been fighting with Bosch and the warranty people for months.Thankfully this diabolical machine didnt catch our entire house on fire. But nonetheless this product is a HUGE safety hazard and it should be pulled off the market (and poor suckers like those of us who purchased this machine should be compensated). We have filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General and asked to be included in a Class Action lawsuit that was recently filed. Protect your home and family -- do not buy a drawer microwave from Bosch!!

DON’T BUY A BOSCH. PLEASE SHARE!! I’d give a minus 5 stars if possible!! Purchased a Bosch dishwasher December 11, 2015 from LOWES for our Florida condo. This condo is used FIVE (5) months out of the YEAR. So this dishwasher has been used 15 months! Lifetime tub warranty. Bad quality rubber seal. You can see by the photos it’s disintegrating. After calling, getting bounced around then waiting 24-48 hours for a return call...they send out their technician. He lies and says he never saw this before. We tell him we found out that our neighbor next-door at the condo had the same model and the exact same thing happened! Coincidental? I think not. Then he said, “Yes it’s bad batch of rubber and the dishwasher will leak. It’s not fixable.” Call again. The one department they transfer us to then another, we have to wait 24 to 48 hours for each return call, never give us direct numbers. We have to wait for them to return our calls. Then we have to fill out paperwork. They want to prorate the dishwasher. Make us pay almost $300 again for the proration, delivery fee and tax. Purchasing delivery installation we paid over $700 for this piece of crap. Filled out all the necessary paperwork. Never hear anything. Call, tell us they got it and reviewing now. Wait over a week. And NOW they say they never received the paperwork we filled out. Resend. We need to wait another 48 hours. From the beginning they knew the absolute last date we could have this dishwasher delivered. They had it in their notes. Well it’s too late now. We’re not going to be here any longer to have a delivery of the dishwasher. I will go buy a GE in the Fall and have it installed. I will never buy a Bosch again. I will do everything I can to let everyone know the lack of integrity and honesty this company possesses. Please share our story so another sucker doesn’t get taken. Bosch knew they had a bad failed batch of rubber seal gaskets out there. And yet they left their dishwashers in the vendor’s warehouse, no recall, to continue to push failed equipment on consumers to continue purchasing their subpar product. I’d like to shove this dishwasher right up their you know what. #boschisjunk #dontbuybosch #boschunethetical

I bought an entire Bosch kitchen last summer. I was cleaning last month and noticed rust and pitting on the door of the fridge. I called Bosch and they asked me to send in pictures to file a claim, so I did my best to show the pitting in the pictures but the surface glare made it difficult. About 2 weeks after I sent in my official claim email I get a response (the initial receipt of the email said I would hear back within 5 business days).Bosch informs me that rust is a surface cosmetic issue and not covered under the warranty so I call to ask if they saw that there were holes in the stainless door. They said it all looked like surface rust and could be cleaned off. But they were willing to give me 25% off if I want to replace the door. I spent about 10 minutes talking before asking for a supervisor. Talking with the supervisor I was able to get them to send a technician to diagnose if there are actually holes. May 17th: technician confirms that there is uncleanable pitting in the stainless steel door.Today: May 31st (2weeks since diagnosis) I get a call that they will pay for the parts of the door as a goodwill gesture but not for the labor of the replacement. So they admit that their product is bad but wont actually pay to replace it, instead trying to frame it as they are doing me a favor. Absolutely horrendous service, to admit that the door is flawed and provide a new door but make me pay for the labor to replace it (~200$). This has officially been the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced. The representatives were defensive and unwilling to take responsibility for their faulty product. I will never again buy a Bosch appliance and Ill also be sure that no one else does if I can help it.

Do not buy Bosch if you expect a good experience with any customer service needs. At the end of 2017 I renovated my kitchen and purchased all Bosch appliances. In May 2019 the magnetron of my microwave failed. Granted, it was now out of warranty, but why the magnetron should have failed so soon was unimaginable. The Sharp microwave I replaced had worked seamlessly for 30 years. The repair cost me almost $400 (the microwave was $1200). I contacted Bosch by email and by phone and was told there was nothing they could do in consideration of this premature (my word) need for such a repair. Perhaps it might have been different if I had reported this prior to authorizing the repair (I did use the preferred repair service on the Bosch website). How was I to know that?! I told the supervisor I spoke with, as well as the customer service rep that emailed me, that they could expect poor reviews posted on as many websites as I could find. No one seemed to care. Buy these appliances at your own peril.

Wed just purchased and installed a Bosch Ascenta (top marks from CR) when my husband got transferred. It was pricey but worth, so we opted to move our new appliance with us. No issues for a couple of years, then it stopped draining, wasnt under warranty etc. Since we werent sure how long wed be in our house we opted for less expensive brands - went through three before our big kitchen remodel. Went back to Bosch - unit was as outstanding as our first until we had to unhook it make so adjustments during the remodel. Since being reinstalled, it doesnt drain. We get an E25 error and have to run rinse cycles to force it to drain. It smells - like celery? Maple syrup? And the filters which I clean after every cycle are loaded with debris - and we pre-rinse!? Still under warranty I called Bosch. Since we dont live in a metropolitan area, they referred me to an approved Bosch service provider in lieu of sending a Bosch tech. Called their suggested provider and was advised that Id have to pay $100 for them just to come out even though this is a Bosch warranty call. Seriously? I already dropped $800 and now I have to shell out for something that should be fully covered by the warranty? Next washer wont be a Bosch.Updated on 05/07/2018: The grimy clean dishes and the awful stench had me biting the bullet and accepting the ridiculous service call charge. Service tech was at our house for less than half an hour and had to call Bosch Tech Line for help - between the two they decide its a defective wash pump. $490 to fix + $100 to diagnose = more than we paid for the unit (was a sweet Black Friday deal). Figured wed just buy a new unit until I was flipping through the owners manual and noted that this unit carried the Good Housekeeping Seal which guaranteed to refund or replace any defective product within the first two years of ownership. When I was finally able to get an answer from GH I was told that Bosch no longer carried the GH Seal but that theyd forwarded my info on to Bosch. I was surprised when Bosch contacted me, and upon my supplying proof of purchase and the service techs invoice, agreed to repair the washer at no charge to me and refund the $100 service call charge. I had such high hopes. Two weeks later, with a new genuine Bosch replacement part in hand, Mr. Service Tech installed the new wash pump and leaves telling me its all good. I run a cycle with no dishes and what do you know - E25! Mr. Service Tech comes back out and is on the phone with the Bosch Tech department again. Actually overheard him getting pointers on how to spin this to being our fault i.e., we installed the dishwasher incorrectly!?! Our dishwasher is routed directly into the waste water line in the basement, not into the kitchen sink (which drains in to the same waste water line) - so heres his analysis of the situation: Modern dishwashers dont have enough power to expel water down (to the pipe below the unit) and are made to push the water to the sink (through tubing fed through the nearby cabinets and UP into the disposal). So they can defy gravity, despite being low energy? He doesnt know why were only getting the error sometimes but thinks maybe theres an air bubble and the reason were able force drain is that enough water pressure builds up that its finally able to clear. Maybe theres something stuck in the drain pump - couldnt explain why he didnt check that the first time he came out - and didnt do it this time either!? Cant explain why the dishwasher worked for six months. Tells us to disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the waste water line and set it up to drain into a 5 gallon bucket. Run a cycle and if the water drains into the bucket there should be no E25 error and proof that it wasnt correctly installed. Call him if that doesnt work.SO...we do it and we ran every conceivable cycle on after the other - no breaks - drained every time, but 50% of the time there was significant water left in the washer and the E25 error. Called Mr. Service Tech this morning. Was told that either hed call us back or the service company would call once they determined what to do. My bet is nothing. But, were not out anything, and we wont be buying a Bosch again!

The stainless steel front of the range oven (which must weigh about 5 lbs) which covers the entire door came off and almost broke my toes. The range trim plastic piece which holds the glass onto the oven front broke. We had Sears come out to fix it and they said it was loose and screwed it back on. Then the glass front again fell off, luckily when I was not there. Then we bought $200 worth of new plastic trim pieces and screws from Bosch authorized dealer. Again, the front of the heavy stainless steel door came off. Now, Im just throwing this horror range oven which wants to cut my toes off. We purchased four Bosch appliances in January 2011 and by November 2011, there was rust on them. Our fridge looked like someone sprayed the rust on it. It is that bad. We contacted Bosch and they sent a service person to look at it and confirmed the problem. He said that the appliances werent 100% Stainless steel because he tested it with a magnet and there was some magnetic attraction. Anyway, he then tried cleaning it per his instructions from Bosch and the rust remained. We contacted Bosch about what the service man said and then was told that the appliance were only warranted for 30 days for cosmetic defects and we should try cleaning it again. We tried cleaning again this time using a very fine steel wool. Some spots were removed but still left a residual stain but many, many spots the rust remained. We then contacted Bosch again. They asked us to send pictures and then they offered to give us 50% off replacement parts as their solution to the defective appliances we paid full price for. This is not the answer we expected from a company who sells what they call top of the line appliances. We were told that the problem of rust was because our condo is on the ocean in FL I cant believe that everyone living on coastal America has had rust problems on their appliances with in a year of purchase. Our Floridian neighbors dont seem to have this problem with other brands. Also we had purchased Bosch appliances for our CT home in 2007and have no rusting problems and we live a block from the sea. I read on rekitchen.com that Bosch warranties against rust on dishwashers. This obviously is not true. From what Ive read here, Bosch does not live up to their reputation!

Most repair services dont handle bosch - cant readily get parts. Those that do wont give prices - they want $100 service call to diagnose prob and then order parts for 2nd visit. And cant get price of new handle without a costly visit -- some scam theyve got going. It also never produces enough ice. Supposed to be stainless steel - aside from not being stainless its not magnetic - so what kind of SS is it really. My opinion is to never buy bosch anything.

I have had my Bosch dishwasher for two years now. Last October (after having it for 14 months) I finally figured out what was on my dishes when I removed them from the dishwasher after running them through the cycle. IT WAS MOLD. I called Bosch, I wrote to Bosch - finally they agreed to send someone out to check out my dishwasher for which I would be responsible for paying the service fee. At first I agreed and then phoned them back and said I would not pay it as I felt the dishwasher was still considered new. They did eventually send someone out - a 19 year old boy who walked into the house knowing what my problem was. He said this happens a lot because people dont bother to clean out the food trap at the bottom of the dishwasher and the accumulating food is causing the mold. Hmmm. Well, he took my dishwasher apart and surprise! There was nothing in the trap. I did not bother to tell him that I thoroughly rinse all the dishes/silver before placing it in the dishwasher. He did not know what to say so he just said he would get back in touch with Bosch. He said possible it needed a new control board. Well after going back and forth with Bosch - and tossing out ALL my dishes, silver and glassware due to it being infected with the black mold - I was told to run it through a clean cycle using a solution. I did this and was afraid to use my dishwasher in case it came back... Well, this morning when I unloaded the dishwasher - ITS BACK! Im not even going to try again - I will go out this weekend and buy a different brand. Now my microwave that I bought at the same time - has gotten steam under the glass on the front door for the longest time. Noticed a few months ago that the plastic around the outside of the window is cracked in two places. Will I ever purchase another Bosch appliance? NEVER!

Bought a Bosch dishwasher. Found what I wanted and went to Lowes. Made it clear I didnt want the third rack. Said I couldnt get the one I wanted in white, it only came in stainless steel so we went up a model. Looked it up and said I couldnt get that one in white so we went up another model. So they delivered and installed it and when I looked it had a third rack. We use tall glasses and I am use to my Maytag having room for tall glasses and big cookie sheets and even gallon jugs. They dont fit so everything but glasses get washed by hand. Sorry its quiet, new so no problems but doing dishes by hand.

It gets the dishes clean. Thats all it does... cleans dishes. Im very happy with the results. Third (top) rack for utensils or silverware -- no more bending to load the silver, its waist height and sooo easy to load then transfer to drawers when cleaned. Besides the absolute quiet of the machine the silverware rack is my favorite feature! Its 24 wide -- standard full size under counter DW. Clean lines, Stainless steel finish, Control panel is hidden. There are a couple of options for handle/no handle. I paid slightly more than most major brands -- and it was money well spent. This dishwasher is so much better, quieter, more convenient than my previous two.

Now there is an E15 error message and the drain pump will not turn off. Very dissatisfied with this purchase. Had an ASKO that worked for 16 years without any issues at all.

Purchased our Bosch Dishwasher in January 2020 and now, 6 1/2 months later it needs repair. Contacted Bosch Customer service to have an approved company come in for repairs and was given three local contacts. One did not service my area. The other told me it would take 4 weeks for someone to come out and service our dishwasher. I notified customer service of this poor response but was told that they could nothing do about this. They blamed it on Covid. Called my Bosch authorized dealer, who is not a Bosch authorized repair service, but who installed my dishwasher and they were able to put me on the schedule within 24 hours. The drawback: I got to pay and my warranty is no longer in effect. So warning to all: Bosch does not take care of their customers and their attitude towards their customers was borderline rude, extremely dismissive and smug. An all-around horrible experience.

We purchased a Bosch oven two years ago. It now does not work. We live 110 miles from the nearest authorized repair. Our local appliance repair person has charged us $200.00 to fix our unit by replacing items until the unit works. Now he does not call us. I talked with Bosch customer service and they advised me that I need to provide them with the receipts of when I purchased the oven. So I would need to go through my 2013 records to find the receipt, then they would pay for an appliance repair person to come out. I have already spent 4 hours dealing with this problem. All I can say is I thought I was buying a quality unit that would take my wife and I into our retirement years. My mistake. Bosch is a highly overrated product. I will never buy another Bosch unit.

Our Bosch fridge (less than 2 years old) - water spout kept pouring continuously and then the ice crusher would come on intermittently. We purchased a new Bosch built-in dishwasher in December to replace our 13 year old GE profile dishwasher. The GE worked great but the gaskets needed replacing $120. Each. So I decided to buy a new Bosch, what a mistake. I called Home Depot and they said they would have taken it back however I would have to pay my plumber to take it out, return it to store and pay him to re-install it. Well, that didnt happen... When I then called Bosch and complained about new Bosch dishwasher that (Didnt clean dishes or silverware) and (smelled awful) the young lady said my plumber must not have installed a trap (wrong). And never addressed the dirty dishes in and dirty dishes out!!!! The dish rack has a 5 yr Limited Warranty (excludes labor charges). So I contacted Bosch and they told me the service contractors in my area. I called Samaritan Installation who ordered the part, came out and replaced my dish rack and charged me $60!!! I was upset but could do nothing but pay them. Then, I called Bosch to complain about the company they recommended and they could care less.

I purchased a Bosch Eco action washer and dryer. Do not make the same mistake. Clothes never come out clean - spots do not come out and other washers have cleaned much better! If you run too many loads in the washer, it gives you an error message. When you call Bosch, they tell you that you need to call a repairman and charge you $100. The dryer never shuts off - it has this de-wrinkle feature that the dry clothes continue to spin even after they are dry - an annoying and wasteful feature. My rented townhouse has a Bosch dishwasher and it cleans the poorest of any dishwasher I have ever had. After three months, it simply stopped working. The Bosch washer and dryer are okay--but just okay. The washer is the worst cleaning machine I have had for a front loader and it is also the first washer I have ever had that smells horribly unless one uses a cleaner in it weekly and unless uses almost no laundry detergent and unless one washes with at least warm water usually. We purchased a Bosch washer and dryer just a little over a year ago. The control unit went out on the dryer. I got the run around from customer service (warranty coverage) and finally they gave us contacts for service. The first individual failed to show up or call. So we had to call back to get some other service representatives names. The next service representative was helpful (was finally able to get clothes out of the dryer) following his direction. However, he was not able to come out for service until the following week. I called back the customer service number again and the individual was willing to order the control unit but the computer system was down and I would have to call back on Monday. When I called back, the service representative refused to order the part. After frustration, I ordered the part myself and fixed the dryer myself. Boschs warranty is not worth anything and I will not purchase another one of their appliances.

I have been dealing with a non-working tankless water heater for about a week, and Bosch customer service keeps telling me from pictures I sent that the install is incorrect. I have had many technicians come into my home and verify the setup and that Bosch, a reputable company, should accommodate us. Its been under 5 years since we have used these units and with not having hot water for almost a week and the countless phone calls to Bosch and emails with pictures, I am resorting to going to the Better Business Bureau. We had the town of Clifton verify everything before they issued us a Certificate of Occupancy. This CO would not be issued if a potential threat was posed due to incorrect installation. We also called Clifton City Hall, who said install was done according to city code. Of two, only one tankless water heater works. I will mention all over social media how Bosch treated this situation and my overall experience. We had to pay multiple amounts to the plumbers who visited our home, who ended up telling us this is something Bosch should be handling for us. Where is Bosch when this customer needs them to help? The 15 year warranty is mighty easy to void isnt it. Also, if Bosch is so confident that the install is incorrect, why doesnt Bosch come here and take a look themselves? Id appreciate a response as this is getting extremely frustrating.

Bought both a Bosch Hedge trimmer and a Pressure washer with some money I had been given as a present. I, like many other people, had been brainwashed into thinking that German products were the best and that by buying Bosch, Id be buying a good product. Firstly, the Hedge trimmer seemed ok, used it once or twice until the third time it seized up and refused to work. I took it back to the shop I bought it from and was given a new one. That one too, seized up and blew the RCD in the house. The internals had fallen to pieces (cheap plastic). I took that back and got a Black and Decker instead. Worked brilliantly, and still does ten years on! Pressure washer next. Used once. Seemed ok. Not brilliant but average. Used a second time and the lance fell to bit spraying me in the face!!! Cheap and nasty plastics! Took it back and was given another one. Motor failed on that one after 2 months of average usage! Bosch? CRAP!

I have owned and used our Bosch Dishwasher for over twelve years without a single problem. Ive heard complaints about Bosch lack of cleaning. I have never experienced such a problem. Some of the complaints sound as though they have a poor water supply. Maybe a water filter prior to the dishwasher would help. I read complaints regarding drying. l would need to know what is in the dishwasher first. If there is a lot of plastic I would expect less than quality. Bosch dries the dishes with hot water rinse. The latent heat of the dishes and glassware is used to dry. Plastic does not retain much heat thus the lack of drying. It is my opinion that the complaints are misdirected. The poor customer service should be addressed immediately.

I would give a negative start if it was possible. My Bosch microwave began turning on by itself. I purchased it with a paid warranty. I called Bosch in early February and they set up a time for someone to fix it in early March. The Bosch repairmen came and said he fixed it, however, the issue reappeared moments after he left. I called back. They set up another appointment and the repairmen did not show up when he was supposed to (of course they never gave me any notice). I called back and set up another appointment. Of course, the repairmen never showed up. I called Bosch and complained to a manager (who was the rudest manager I ever spoke with). He set up another appointment. This time the repairmen actually showed up with the parts but then informed me that the parts they ordered wont fix the issue. So they had to order different parts. So I set up another appointment for today. Surprise surprise, the Bosch repairmen never showed up (again with no notice). In summary, during the past 5 months, I have set up 5 appointments and have had 3 no shows (without any notice). I have complained to Bosch US, Bosch UK, and Lowes. I filed a formal written complaint to Lowes. I have spent over 15 hours calling Bosch. I have complained to 4 managers to no avail. 2 managers were supposed to call me back but they didnt. Bosch is known for being quiet. That is very important in homes with open floor plans. I have a large center island where the back of the dishwasher is facing a living space. Because it is only about 58 db, it is practically impossible to hear it running. Furthermore, the end of cycle chime is necessary to know when to empty it. The soil sensor seems to work quite well as it will only run as long as there are soiled dishes. The water temperature gets quite hot, so I know unwanted bacteria is eliminated. Dishes always come out squeaky clean. I love the half load cycle and use it frequently. The energy and water usage is very low. I think that most people who own dishwashers think that the whole unit fills with water each time they run a cycle, and so they are reluctant to run the dishwasher. Many folks, unknowingly, use MORE water by doing dishes by hand than they would have done if they had put them on the proper cycle in the dishwasher. If the owner would read the specifications of actual water usage, they would be surprised how little water a full load uses in comparison to rinsing dishes before placing them in. I also like the fact that I can put delicate items, such as crystal and fine china, and know that nothing is going to come out damaged or cracked. The size of most regular household units will fit into a standard 24 wide lower cabinet. I also think the capacity and overall arrangement of the racks gives quite a bit of flexibility, as no two loads contain the same collection of dishes to be washed to be washed at the same time. This particular unit has a very low-profile handle and doesnt interfere with todays contemporary, clean lines in the kitchen. The handle is sturdy and feels secure. My unit is a nice grade of stainless steel, not a thin gauge that would tend to dent easily. The interior is also a food-grade stainless steel that doesnt collect unwanted odors or corrosion from the soap. If you opt for Bosch, you dont have to get a really expensive, high-end model since they are all extremely quiet and easy to use. Bosch also, in my opinion, exudes an element of high quality, even if its a low-end model. Generally, the higher end machines have options and features that most owners rarely use. I believe that Bosch is a good choice for a discriminating buyer who doesnt necessarily have a huge budget, but wants a beautiful, efficient machine that will last a long time. It is a work-horse that will bring compliments from friends and family for years to come as they have a 25 year warranty on their products.

There is a class action attorney interested... Bosch didnt recall their hazardous (bursting into flames!) dishwashers until a suit was filed. Similar issue here with brand new Bosch double convection oven--control panel and knobs became scalding the first time we used it. It took over two hours for the control panel and knobs to cool down. We keep it shut off at the breaker because the technician said it was just a glitch. Bosch told us if the technician says its safe to use your oven its safe to use your oven--but they refuse to warranty any damage to our kitchen (hello--our us!) if theres a future problem. In 2012 we purchased a Bosch dishwasher based on Consumer Reports Magazine. We bought the top of the line spending a lot of money for what we thought to be a good unit. Since installation we have had it fixed 3 times the first being for a power cord that failed but was a recall that Bosch covered. That part again failed 2 years later and had to be repaired again for the same failure as the first but at my cost. The latest was for a power control circuit board. The dishwasher would start appear to be running but after only 2 cycles would stop and indicate the dishes were clean. However no water ever entered. A search on the internet revealed that other models had the same problem and was involved in a recall. A workaround was to open and close the door after the 2nd cycle and the unit would then fill. I tried the workaround and it worked, indicating the same problem and was later confirmed by a repairman. I contacted Bosch, provided all requested documentation and was eventually told that our unit was not included in that recall and the best they could do was 20% of the replacement board cost which equated to $24.00, but wed have to pay for shipping and taxes which was $17.00. I thought we had bought a well built appliance from a reputable manufacturer but have been proven wrong. Their customer service is terrible and does nothing to HELP you. In the 7 years weve owned it half of the original purchase price has been in repairs. I would not recommend any Bosch appliance to anyone again nor would I buy one.

The Bosch dishwasher seemed like a good idea. Its a reputable company, right? Furthermore, it fit my dishes and glasses. However, it never dries things. It is always dripping with moisture when I open it in the morning. The continually wet dishwasher has already ruined some of my good knives and stainless silverware. The store where I bought it came out and checked it. They claim its operating as intended. The company, when I called, informed me that you MUST remove the dishes the minute the cycles finish. That means that I have to babysit the dishwasher and it has ceased to be a convenience.

I purchased a $1,600 Bosch dishwasher with the hope of owning a top rated and performing dishwasher. Wrong! This dishwasher has been nothing but trouble. At 8 months, it leaked profusely and caused $4,000 in damage to the kitchen in my 2 year old house. I live in Florida and this caused mold, which required remediation and the replacement of a kitchen cabinet. The pain of messing up my beautiful new home in addition to the loss of use of a dishwasher for 4 months. Their insurance company did pay, but my inconvenience and exposure to the mold was not even considered. The next year, the power cord was recalled due to fires. A backorder for the part took one month. Last month, the drain pump failed and another 3 weeks of no dishwasher. All told, this dishwasher has been out of commission for almost 5 months. Bosch’s Reply is, The dishwasher is out of warranty, so take it up with your extended warranty. What about Bosch’s obligation to provide the customer with the goods that they paid for? Did I mention how rude the customer service reps are? Bosch needs to own up to their shortcomings and be fair to the consumer. Lemons happen and they need to correct the situation with a new product. Don’t hold your breath!

Bosch is selling cheap Chinese made appliances that are some of the most overpriced and poorest performing of any. Our dishwasher cost $900 and was rated highly by Consumer Reports, which is why we bought it. It is a terrible dishwasher and now, after 18 months, it wont drain the rinse water. Called Bosch customer service and was told to google YouTube to find a fix. So I did and went through the videos of many, many other Bosch owners but in the end, none of their YouTube video solutions worked for my dishwasher. So, I bit the bullet and called an appliance repairman who came and fixed the problem after tearing apart most of the dishwasher. That cost me almost $200 and the repairman told me Bosch appliances are the worst hes ever seen in almost 30 years experience. He recommended that I buy another dishwasher pretty soon.

My father purchased a Bosch tankless water heater about 18 months ago. He had a professional plumber install the tank to the specifications that the factory mandates. The unit never did work properly. After hours on the phone with tech support listening to every reason in the book why it wasn't "their" fault , and hundreds if not thousands of dollars spent on a plumber they still will not honor their warranty and replace the unit. The problem with the unit is that whenever you turn on the cold water to make the water warm instead of scalding, the heater shuts off completely leaving you with ice cold water. The factory techs tell us that there is not enough water coming into the unit. Ok easy fix right "just tell us how much water is required". O wait the "tech" isn't allowed to suggest anything like that. My father is so frustrated he wants to take the unit outside and shoot it with a rifle. If there is a class action we want in!!!!!! Bosch service tech discovered a manufacturers defect in my new dishwasher model number SHEM63W55N. My dealer submitted the request to replace immediately. The RA paperwork took 7 weeks. After spending the morning on the phone with the seller, I was told this model is not available. When I called Bosch, the customer service informed me that they have closed the issue and that they are done. No suggestions or offers to correct the issue and no apology for their delays. I have to hope that the seller will do what is necessary to correct the issue. Would have expected better and more compassion from their customer service people. I do not recommend Bosch if you want good customer service!

She advised me that I had to have a service tech call her to get the information off of her. You cant even find a park to replace the equipment that I have. What piss poor support. Installed 12/5/2018. Unlike my friends Bosch DW, this one had a top drawer that was diabolically designed to prevent efficient loading with flatware. We called William who told us there was another drawer, and gave us a part # and price, but no free exchange. The next day we called back and ordered this “other drawer”. It arrived Friday 12/28/18. It was the exact same drawer we did not like. We called 12/31/18, and were on hold/ignore for 25 minutes, after which the CSA told us to call back on 1/2/2019. We called back and spoke with Kay **, Customer Support Representative (US/MA-CSCN9), who said there was no “other drawer” and could I get a part number from my friend? Within two days, I did get my friend’s part number, but found out from https://www.bosch-home.com/us/store/accessories/dishwashing/accessories/baskets-and-holders/... That that part is not compatible with my new dishwasher.Since there was apparently nothing BOSCH could or would do for me, I called to return the redundant part today 1/8/19. “Monica” gave me all sorts of flak about how all of this was MY fault, and that they would make no exceptions, and I could return it at my expense, and pay a 25% restocking fee on the wrong part, and even that I would have to wait 48 hours to get a return label sent to my e-mail account. Needless to say, while some lucky people have had good luck with their machines, and some may even have gotten good customer service, I was treated like trash. I now humbly vow I will NEVER willingly buy a BOSCH anything ever again.

I wish I had something good to say about my Bosch kitchen appliances. I redid my kitchen oven, cooktop, exhaust fan, microwave, and dishwasher with Bosch products. I lasted about a month with the dishwasher and told my husband I wasnt going to live the next five years with it. I replaced it with a Kenmore and couldnt be happier. The Bosch racks were terribly, inefficiently configured - that was my worst complaint. It smelled sour. The microwave is OK as far as doing the job, but its not handy in any way and is impossible to clean because for one thing I cant reach the back of it without a step stool. You have to put in the number of minutes and seconds every time you use it. The convection oven doesnt thrill me at all. My cookies turn out pasty and it doesnt seem to do anything any faster at any temperature.Same old oven as far as Im concerned. I bang my head on the exhaust fan whenever I try to see what is on the back burner. The burners on the cooktop are too big for the pots, except for the smallest ones. The knobs on the cooktop get very hot and are hard to adjust with a pot on them. Lets see if there is anything good I have to say. They look pretty, but the engineers who designed them have never even boiled water much less cooked a meal, and they have certainly never cleaned them or even used them.

SHX46A05UC/14 Dishwasher, 2004, paid $ 1,600.00 Stopped draining water, developed endless cycle, finally started to fill up with the water overflowing to my newly renovated kitchen. The quality of the cleaning was degrading slowly, leaving residues on glass and dishes.Bosch certified service showed up for just over $ 75/h, looking and playing with the washer for 2 hours; diagnosed, well nothing, they check in fact the water drainage path and remover a rubber part from the pump section, saying that I dont need that, and that this was perhaps the cause of the problem. After over $150 for service call, (no parts replaced = no 30 days warranty for the service) !!!... The next day, well, we have exact this same issue, cycle takes hours, no full water drainage. Service call, week later, different technicians, diagnosed for new control unit and quote for over $350. (for $500 I can get new dishwasher today, but my old $1600 unit should work for years - or not). Called Bosch, same response as for all of the people below. They couldnt care less. The Customer service from the service company concluded that I would be better off buying a new unit ! Great, that much about my love for Bosch, and we have the whole kitchen furnished with that junk. After short internet research, I found people helping step by step with similar issues, so I did take apart my unit, opened the controller, and found that it has overheated and damaged connection. No, is not that one under the recall, the recall one must cause house fire I guess! Cleaning the connection and re-soldering it helped, partially, it works now as it use to, but still fills with fresh water after is done, so I have to cut the water intake. Conclusion: I would spend $350 for a new part or service and still have another issue!!! Now, I need to take the intake valve apart to see if this is the real problem. Slowly, I am getting a master degree on Bosch dishwashers, and I promise to never buy one again.

I was so looking forward and very excited to finally have Bosch appliances in my newly remodeled kitchen, however, I am now very disappointed and heartbroken with my first time Bosch appliance experience. Purchased the Bosch kitchen appliance suite and while the refrigerator and range seem to be fine, our installer discovered severe concealed damage to the $1000 dishwasher when unpacking to install. The inside of the dishwasher is crushed in from the top and the upper spray unit was dislodged from its bracket. The box arrived in perfect condition (as did the range and refrigerator) and no damage is noticeable until unpacked AND the felt covering is pulled back to see the damage to the outside of the unit. The response from the Bosch USA customer service team was that, upon review, they were unable (unwilling!) to help. When I asked to speak to the decision making manager I was told We are not allowed to do that. It would appear that the dishwasher was damaged at the Bosch factory and shipped to the distributor who also assumed the unit was undamaged due to the perfect condition of the box. Is this the way a world-renowned brand like Bosch provides excellent customer service and satisfaction?!? Really?!?

I bought a Bosch washer & dryer set several years ago. I was frustrated because if I didnt want the pressed wood (cardboard) exterior so I had to pay more for the plastic model. I had the dryer for about a year and I notice what I thought was the dryer not drying the clothes and turning itself off. But when I turned the dial the light would come on. What is happening is the dial connection is loose or bad. If I push down on the dial the dryer sometimes works. I have resorted to putting a full bottle of detergent balanced on the dial so it will hopefully stay on long enough to dry anything. It rarely does. Drying clothes in my Bosch Nexxt Premium Dryer is a nightmare and can take HOURS for even one small load. (It all depends how often I am willing to run back downstairs to restart/reset the dial.) What a disappointment. Dryers are such simple things how can they mess it up? But they did. This has been going on for years! Not sure which is stupider. Me buying the Bosch in the first place or me putting up with it this long. My experience with Bosch is they are overpriced and poorly made. Who designs anything made out of pressed wood sandings or plastic for a laundry area? They do know there is water in a laundry room? It should have been a sign.

The Bosch model SHV99A03/UC 14 is fabulous! It is quiet, a major advantage. Only a door spring pulley has broken in 12 years. The racks are large and easy to load. They fit all sizes of dishes and utensils. This will hold a very full load of dishes. We have the option for wood paneling that matches the oak cabinets. The door springs are strong, but the plastic pulleys are what broke. Bosch has redesigned them, so get the newer ones. They are a real challenge to replace, but there was some good video on YouTube showing how. Study first before you begin!

HMB5050 Bosch microwave - I remodeled my kitchen 3 years ago. Researched the big Bosch appliances and most received good reviews. The least expensive item, the microwave, I did not research. Big Mistake!!! Read the reviews, all have the same issue. Total failure between 2-3 years. Inverter board/magnetron. Repair cost $600!! So many reviews with the same issue, Bosch should have recalled this item. Instead just discontinued it. No help from customer service, although they did have me go through the trouble of sending them a bunch of stuff. In the end they offered me $25 towards a new inverter board. Im considering a small claims court option. I have enough info about the item to at least warrant a try. All my other Bosch appliances: warming drawer, double wall ovens, dishwasher, 5-burner gas cooktop, have held up well. I cook a lot! Just such a disappointing experience with the darn microwave! I wish they would help me out with a credit towards a new one! They know this thing has serious issues! Ill keep you posted!

SuperSilence 42 dBA (Model SHX7ER55UC/50) - We have had this dishwasher about 2-1/2 years, so it is beyond warranty for this problem. The dishwasher has performed well despite a recall to replace the power cord. Now, however, the plastic caps at the ends of the door handle are cracking and breaking off. Their authorized dealer/rep wants a $90 service charge to replace in $20 parts. They knew exactly what we were talking about, so I suspect this is a well known Bosch problem. We got a real nice deal from Lowes on a Bosch electric range. We had been looking all over for a new one during a slight remodel. Saw the range for approx. half price - clearance - and jumped on it... Our budget (or interest) really did not include thinking high-end. The range is great, with all the bells and whistles we wouldnt have gotten otherwise - quick heating ribbon elements, convection, roasting, and warming oven features, nice black glass finish. Plus, it gets light use from us two empty-nesters. Then about 2 months ago, the glass panel on the oven door just plain fell off! (How can anyone make something that just sits there and then falls apart!?) Luckily, it didnt break. Upon investigation, wifey found a screw in the storage drawer but there are 3 screw holes holding it on via bottom brackets. Looked to me as though the other 2 screws had never been put in. Not only I, but my PhD Mechanical Engineer son-in-law, could not figure out how to get the panel back on... After fooling with it for 2 weeks, I finally bit the bullet and pretty much disassembled the entire oven door to get it back together. During this ordeal, the plastic strip on the top of the door also broke. It now awaits my precision application of super glue to fix. Havent done that yet just because Im sick of fooling with the thing. I will say that during this deal, I called the Bosch hotline for some expert advice, and the guy I spoke to was as friendly and compassionate as any of his breed I have ever dealt with. But even though we both had the same web page in front of us, he cheerfully admitted he was clueless as to how to get the panel back on. All he could suggest was replacing the entire oven door, even though he agreed that that was overkill for the problem which compared to the Bosch dishwasher we bought about a year and a half ago (i.e., now out of warranty)... well, I only thought I knew what an appliance problem was until I met the Bosch SHE3AR5XUC!! It will not drain completely. The detergent will not dispense. The dishes will not dry, let alone sanitize. It is noisy... It is a **. According to my web-based research, I can take it apart and see if something is stuck in the pump impeller, and take more apart and replace or somehow fix the detergent dispenser... Oh, yeah, thats me. Like so many other posters here, we felt pretty good about ourselves having a kitchen with so-called high end appliances. Instead, we feel as though we got suckered into thinking life would be a breeze with the wonderful Bosch stuff in our all-electric dream kitchen. I intend over the next few days to visit the big-box retailer we got our D/W from and state that the only remedy is total replacement. I doubt they will go for that. I will then go to another big-boxer and buy a new D/W. My advice to anyone who has read this far and is considering getting a Bosch anything... your life is too short and your time too valuable to roll the Bosch dice.

We got our Bosch dishwasher 2 weeks ago. It was very labor intensive to set up. Too many bells and whistles. Also we did have a problem with water accumulation. We were told to use the extra shine button. This works. However we have to make sure we are here when the dishwasher is done so we can open it right away to let out the steam. So we have to take the extra step of setting the timer. Also it takes a very long time- 2 1/2 hours for the cycle to get done with the auto button and the extra shine button. Also the amount of dishes you can put in seems small. The plus here is that the dishwasher is very quiet. We got the Bosch hoping for an energy efficient machine. We do have to rinse the dishes first so that also takes up extra water. Perhaps this is a good model if you are a caterer, but cumbersome for general household use. My old broken down dishwasher did a better job of cleaning and drying in half the time. Its actually easier for me to wash my dishes by hand unless we have company.

Purchased the Bosch Dishwasher SilencePlus 44 dBA model during a full kitchen remodel. After using the dishwasher for 30-days, it was returned in exchange for a Kitchen Aid model. Chief complaint (for us) is the dishwasher remains wet inside after washing dishes and never dries out. Dishes remain damp and not fully dry. Tired of leaving the door open overnight to let the dishwasher dry. During the time we had it, because of the inside not drying, a musty odor is becoming noticeable. With this wet condition and closed, we are concern about it developing mold. Absolutely would not recommend this model or manufacturer. In speaking to the appliance representative where the dishwasher was purchased, the rep indicated that this remaining wet issue about Bosch dishwashers is very common and others have voiced the same complaint.
