I rarely write reviews but when I found your site, I decided it was time to vent. I bought a 36 dual fuel, convection Epicure range in 1999. It was not a cheap oven and I was excited at the possibilities of having a 16,000 BTU broiler and large oven cavity to work with. Lets just say that excitement quickly wore off. Almost immediately after the range went out of warranty, the ignitors went bad and we also had to replace the control panel ($400 in repairs was a lot back then). After that, we continued to have ignitor problems and replaced them again. Finally, I just stopped doing it and lit them with my aim and flame. I never allow my children to cook on the stove because I am afraid they will be burned. Most recently, my broiler element, relay board and again more ignitor problems ($1,200 in repairs). Not to mention, the repairman had a terrible time trying to access all the areas and was at my house for 4 hours trying to do so. When the initial problems happened, I emailed, phoned, left message, etc. to no avail with customer service (I use that term loosely). This company is the worst. I have told everyone I know never to buy a Dacor anything. Next time, Ill buy a Wolf.

We moved into our newly built home in April 2012. I purchased the Dacor 30" microwave drawer to complement a 30" electric oven that is installed just above the microwave. I am very happy with my purchase, it is stylish and works well. The drawer is spacious, I can fit multiple food items in it and they all cook evenly. We use it daily and couldn't be happier with it. If I ever move, I will purchase this microwave drawer again.

Talked into spending $4700 on a wall oven on the recommendation of an appliance retailer. My concern was even baking and reliability. Was told I would be very happy as Dacor was best on the market. Well long story short, it never cooked evenly and after 8 years quit working. Had to lug the heavy oven to the city to an approved service provider. They thought it was the relay board (told the brains of the oven). Service provider changed several things (sensors, board and whatever else). Nothing solved problem. Phoned me and said I was looking at minimum $2000 and up. He threw oven in garbage. We didn’t even send the gas money to bring the dud home.Thought it should last longer than 8 years. I phoned Dacor. They wanted to know exactly what the problem and diagnosis was so I told them to phone the Service Provider. Said they would but I had to email copy of receipt which I did. A couple of months gone by and never heard a thing and they are not responding to my emails. DO NOT RECOMMEND DACOR.

Updated on 09/25/2020: I wrote my original review of Dacor back in June 2020. This was after 4 months after I first started having trouble with my Dacor dishwasher. It is now September 25th, and still waiting on parts from Dacor to get dishwasher fix. Now the $10k refrigerator is not working and have been awaiting parts on it for over two months. This is absolutely the worst “high end” brand I have ever bought. This now a Samsung owned company and is not worth the money. Stay clear if this brand. Look at the other brands in this category like Wolf, Sub Zero, Miele.Original Review: I purchased a complete Dacor Kitchen package worth close to $20k for a home I did a renovation on. We had the dishwasher a month and it has not worked since. Finally they sent out someone to service it. The service tech said nothing was wrong with it. The next day after the servicemen left it was back making the same horrible sounds and AGAIN not working. I called warranty for about the 8th time and all the rep could tell me is... that did we read our manual and make sure we were operating it properly???? WOW!! Im a custom home builder and have bought numerous high end appliances packages and generally have had good service and even replacement if its a major problem. Dacor makes it sound like this is my fault, that they sold me an INFERIOR product!! Dont waste your money on DACOR. Miele, Wolf, Sub Zero all have superior products and service!!

I purchased a DACOR Discovery IQ Range one year ago Model # DYRP36DS/NG from an online authorized DACOR retailer. Here is a synopsis of the events Ive had with the range over the past 12 months: I took delivery of the Range in January of 2016 at my home under construction. I moved into the home in April 2016 which is when the Range was fist installed. In May I began to have problems with the unit, it would shut down during preheating, then reboot itself, sometimes it would just reboot itself randomly. I called DACOR customer support who told me that I needed to download the latest software version, which I did. Shortly thereafter, the Range again would shut down during cooking and go into a reboot cycle.I called DACOR again, they sent out a local service company. In June the technician came out and upgraded and re-installed the software. The problem continued, I contacted DACOR AGAIN, got the run around, etc... Escalated the problem. DACOR then determined the problem was in the internal circuit board which they arranged to shipped to local service company. The service company came out again, replaced the internal circuit board and attempted to upgrade the eProm, which didnt work. The Range was in a constant state of rebooting itself over and over and over again. The Technician left. Said nothing more he could do. I had to shut the power off so the unit would stop rebooting itself.I called DACOR AGAIN, I got a complete run around, they refused to do anything more. I finally was able to reach the V.P. of Customer Service. After a few conversations and investigation into the issues. She determined that the unit needed a new front controller panel. The panel was shipped to the local service company. The service company came out again and replaced the front controller panel. Its now November. Over Christmas, the unit began to shut off the oven randomly during cooking cycles, for no apparent reason. Over New Years, the oven was shutting off, flashing an error code and reboot! I called DACOR last week. They refuse to help because now it is out of warranty.Ive contacted the online retailer. Ive left messages at DACOR for the Service Manager and the V.P. of Service. NO RESPONSE. So this is how DACOR deals with servicing their high end appliances, keep trying to pretend to fix the lemon appliance until the anniversary date, and then they dont have to deal with their $9,000 piece of garbage high end range any longer. The consumer gets screwed and DACOR doesnt care in the least! DO NOT BUY an appliance from DACOR.

Purchased Dacor Induction Range w Convection Oven RR30NIS-C in October 2013
Purchased Dacor Induction Range w Convection Oven RR30NIS-C in October 2013 and LOVE this range. Accidentally broke the glass on the induction cooktop with falling object mid-March 2020. Only the glass is broken, and all other electronics, induction burners, oven, etc are functioning fine. Called Dacor support to acquire part number for a glass top for repair - obtained part number #701751 superseded by #702285, BUT was informed that the part had been discontinued and is no longer being manufactured or kept in stock. No other advice was given other than to discard the entire $6000 range. Multiple phone calls with service.I asked for a listing of third party part distributors and was referred to four distributors on the Dacor public website and given no other info. I called all web-based third-party distributors I could find in USA and Canada to see if anyone had the part in stock, with no luck. I contacted two technicians to see if they would be able to obtain the part through their channels, with no luck. I am an engineer, so I spent some time pouring over technical manuals trying to find a solution to replace the entire induction range cooktop assembly (top part of the range) with a later model, and although its possible, Dacor would not provide the ability to purchase an RNR30NI range cooktop assembly that could be fit into the existing housing on top of the range. The convection oven is completely fine, and I cannot believe that Dacor has given me no other option but to pitch a six-year-old $6000 range because they stopped manufacturing one fragile part made of glass. I would imagine that many consumers may be in the same position as I, as these cooktops are breakable, and accidents happen. I have reached out to Dacor support desk numerous times without resolution, and I am at my wits end with a $6000 boat anchor in my kitchen. What a waste of money! Poorly done Dacor!I would like Dacor to provide me with some sort of solution whether it be the part required to fix my induction cooktop, or a replacement Induction Range with convection oven, or reimbursement of the purchase price so I can obtain a replacement on my own. If I am not able to find a solution to repair my range, I will never buy from Dacor again! Dacor will discontinue easily broken parts without warning! You may spend thousands of dollars and not be able to repair your appliance after warranty expires!

I first bought the low-end Dacor dual fuel range and overhead microwave oven. Within the time frame of 3 years, repairs to the stove cost over $2,500. The stove cost $1,800. Ever single piece of plastic on the stove cracked and had to be replaced multiple times. The microwaves handle cracked 6 times, twice in one week. The overhead trim, which is about 30 by 6 and heavy, fell off and hit me in the head while I was frying bacon. If it had hit the pan of hot grease, I would have been burned. I contacted Dacor and got the brush off. I contacted Fight Back with David Horowitz about the problem. Dacor called me back, bowing and scraping, and we came to an agreement that they would take back the stove and microwave and put the full cost towards an upgrade to their high end model. I am sure you think I was stupid but the stove cooked beautifully and I thought a stove with no plastic trim pieces would solve the problem. Wrong! The microwave control panel has gone out twice, each repair costing around $350. The handle broke 4 times but that was covered under warranty. The front control panel has died 3 times (another $350 each time). The broiler dies each time the self-clean is used and that has been fixed 3 or 4 times. Some computer board on the top of the stove has died (another $400). The enamel lining inside has cracked, crazed, chipped off and rusted. Now, the front control panel has died and so has the one on the microwave. Times are very tough for us now and I cant afford to get them fixed. I noticed that the front panel trim on the top of the microwave is starting to pop out again (plastic fatigue). Hopefully, it will fall off again while I am cooking and hit me in the head and knock some sense into me. If it does happen, I will take them to court.

I bought my Dacor epicure 36 duel fuel range in 1998. First stove: oven door did not close, spark modulator out. They tried to fix it but failed. They sent me a new stove. #2 stove: same problem with spark modulator. Couldnt use any burner without the constant clicking. Oven didnt bake evenly. Complained. Stove: #3: same problems. Dacor sent me a letter to grade them on their stoves and service. I blasted them. They called me and ask if I wanted my money back or another stove. Stupidly I took the stove. This was 5 years since the original purchase. Ive had this stove #4 for 13 years. Door is and always has been unable to close. I use a stick to close it. Now the relay board is out. Frankly I so love the looks of the stove and I cant afford to get a new one. Original was 5200. Now they are 6700 and I would probably have the same problems. So I am going to try and fix this stove myself. I will never buy Dacor anything ever again, even if I could afford it. When they offer your money back, take it. The service was responsive although didnt solve the problem through 4 stoves. I would gather from that, the design is bad. My mother has a old 1940 gas stove that still works. Gas stoves should not be that complicated.

We are in the process of remodeling our house including an entire new kitchen that we cant wait to finish to invite people over and show. HOWEVER, the cook top already has a light burned and finally the cover of it ended up falling as I was wiping down the stove (very softly by the way because I like to treat my appliances really nice). We have had this stove for less than a year I havent even made the last payment and it is already with a light burned out. REALLY? My husband spent countless hours researching the best appliances and decided to get this one and to come to find out that it is not good it is a complete disappointment. I am sooo upset. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND!!! Save yourself the hassle that we are now going to go through trying to get a hold of someone on the phone and see what they will do if anything. I bought it from AJ Madison.

Now, I upgraded my whole kitchen with all Dacor products and I am super happy, my 30 inch range top has extra wide grates which allows my wife to cook with extra large pans when she prepares food for donation, my updraft vent catches smoke and grease much better than my downdraft, my refrigeration is very nice looking with french door and middle refrigeration for my cold drinks and my dishwasher is very quiet. I invited a few friends home and they have admire my new kitchen. It has been more than months since I bought it and no problems.

We have a 2 year old 36 inch, Model EF361WF refrigerator. Water began pooling at the base every 2-3 days. Called Dacor Customer Service Team. Pitiful response and horrible customer service. Had to call private technician who was very surprised that a so-called higher end appliance was not factory-fitted with a P trap. He sees the problem often with cheaper models. From the beginning, August 1997, 17 years ago, I was not able to use my oven after self-cleaning. The problem was never resolved after countless service calls totaling over $1500. Aside from the cost, I was inconvenienced every time I cleaned my oven, as I was not able to use it until it was serviced, about a two week wait. I contacted Dacor early on and they reluctantly agreed to extend my warranty for a year. They did nothing beyond that, and my oven still shuts down after self-cleaning, which I hesitate to do at all, until it is beyond needing cleaning! The circuit board was replaced and recently the cooling fan was changed, but....no luck. Buying a new oven is not an alternative, as the oven performs well in every other way and I simply cannot afford one. I cannot believe a company of such status is not interested in satisfying its customers.

Im on my second Dacor 36 range! I absolutely love this product. The large grates on the cooktop allow me to have multiple things going at the same time and the size of the oven is amazing. The oven takes a full commercial sheet which allows me to cook 3 or 4 dozen cookies at a time! Dacors convection system is undeniably the best in class. I can roast garlic and bake a cake at the same time with zero flavor transfer! My turkey at Thanksgiving is so amazing Martha Stewart would adopt me if she could see it! We moved in our new home in June 2019. We had purchased 2 Dacor dishwashers, 2 ovens, a gas cooktop and a microwave. All the appliances are beautiful. That said, both of our dishwashers leaked so bad we had to stop using them as they were damaging our wood cabinets and floor. Dacor sent service persons out after multiple calls and replaced the seals, but they still leaked. Our cabinet company that sold the Dacor appliances stepped up and replaced them both with Bosch dishwashers. Our Dacor Refrigerator went out in mid February and will not cool anymore. After 2 hours on the phone with a Dacor representative, we finally were able to schedule a service person to come out a week later (Dacor has very few support companies so dont plan on anything happening too soon when there is a problem). Was not able to repair the fridge and said it could be another two weeks to get the part and return. That said our service person is a great guy and cares, but has to rely and wait on Dacor for responses and parts. Our ovens take twice as long to cook as any other oven we have ever had. We are asking them to look into that as well. Overall, very disappointed. We understand having problems, but expect Dacor customer service would be much better and support their own field service persons and clients or at least act like they care. Not looking forward to calling them back to see why we need to be without a fridge for 3-4 weeks total....

We were out of state from December 21, 2014 to January 2, 2015. The condition of the refrigerator was discovered at about 9:30 PM on Saturday, January 2nd. Upon opening the door the Dairy Compartment Cover fell to the floor. We could immediately see the damage but did not know the source. As a result, the unit was turned off. The owners manual was consulted along with a review of the Dacor website. The office was closed on the weekend so Monday was the earliest we could obtain names of Dacor authorized repair agents in the Phoenix area. A authorized Dacor repair technician stated the light switch or light circuit in the board failed. The interior light bulbs located at the top of the refrigeration side of the unit remained on when the refrigerator door was closed. The heat generated by the continuously lit bulbs led to the melting and charring of the plastic light fixture. The light socket melted, the wiring harness melted into the socket assembly, light switch, and control panel. The heat was intense enough to warp the Dairy Compartment clear plastic cover, some of the adjustable door bins, and the interior door liners. Also, all food containers made from plastic such as salad dressing bottles, mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise, etc. were disfigured. Of course all the contents from both the refrigerator and freezer had to be disposed. Before leaving on an extended trip we had been following the instructions preparing for a vacation listed on page 19 of the owners manual. On our departure date the food that would not have lasted more than two weeks was removed from the refrigerator. The ice bin was emptied and the wire shut off arm was raised to the OFF (O) position. Note, page 19 does not mention to set the Sabbath mode when leaving for a short or long vacation. We were fortunate that the damage was contained within the refrigerator.

Our 10 year old Dacor microwave finally passed on, so I ordered this model, as it fits into the existing trim kit. It is basically the same model I had before, without all the "digital" screen display and the "tune" that played when the food was done. It still does multiple steps at different percentages and, instead of hitting time, percentage and start, you select time, and repeatedly press the "power setting" button multiple times to arrive at your desired percentage (it steps down from 100%), then press start. It's also an 1100 watt unit where our previous one was 1200 watts. I don't notice any difference. It has a "cobalt" blue display. There are many "preset" buttons for things like Pizza, Popcorn, etc. Love our new Dacor!

Do not buy a Dacor appliance unless youre okay with replacing parts for the oven in less than 2 years. The control electronic part was replace then less than a year later the user interface had to be replaced. Less than a year after the user interface was replaced, the oven completely stopped working. After calling the same repair guy to come fix it, they informed me that the company no longer sells the control interface. When I called the company, the only options they gave me were to send the part to a third party refurbish company and have them fix it. That means I would have to call the service repair company for the FOURTH time to have them remove the part, I would need to send it away to get fixed and call them back to put it back in. Dacor didnt even offer to pay for any of this. The customer service rep offered to give me a discount on a new unit. Are you kidding me?!? Please do yourself a favor and dont buy anything from this company. They dont back up their products and its clear they dont care about their reputation. Its a waste of money to be spend on high end appliances that are poorly made. Spend less from a different company thats been around for a long time. At least if a part goes, youll have reassurance they will have that part handy. A terrible company. I hope they go belly up soon so they can stop selling overly priced kitchen appliances to people.

This will be the third service call on my Dacor Built-in Refrigerator with the freezer making icicles and the fan making a loud noise. On top of that, I have two light bulbs in the freezer that went out from the ordeal. From my review of the complaints here on Consumer Affairs, I see Im not the only one with this issue. This is a yearly problem, and I hope Dacor would step up and resolve this for me since it truly is a poor design issue and no fault of mine.

When the beverage center was initially installed 5 or so years ago, I went to put wine bottles in the wine drawers and surprisingly, the shelves are too shallow to properly hold some of the bottles especially tall Riesling bottles. I contacted Dacor to get some response to the poor design and got no response. Now the unit wont chill and I have just paid a repairman $162 to tell me it is not repairable because the unit has a leak in the refrigeration system and it is within a foamed in area of the system. So after only 5 years, I am replacing my wine fridge, not what I would have expected from a brand that touts itself as being high end. I am very dissatisfied with Dacor and certainly will not be purchasing anything of that brand again.

I have had my 30 inch Dacor Dual Fuel Range since 2002. In the past month, the oven door seems to be falling apart. I had to replace the oven door handle after the handle cracked in the spots on the right hand side where the screws go in. When I tried to screw the new handle in, I noticed that the front panel on the door is lifting away from the door. It is more separated on the right hand side which leads me to believe that it is the reason that the handle cracked on that side. As a result, the handle cannot be properly installed. The only way this can be repaired is to call someone in to do it and it will either have to be glued together or the whole door would need replacing. Reading these forums, Im worried that my oven problems are just beginning and I dont want to start sinking money into this oven. I purchased a Dacor as I believed it was a high quality product and that it would be worth the money and last a long time. This type of problem should not be occurring. I do not consider 10 years a long time for a product like this. My sister has had her Jenn Air oven for almost 20 years and it has no signs of wearing out.

Purchased Dacor Renaissance wall oven in July 2015, Model RNO130S. After less than a year and a half, the cooking temperature began to fail. For instance, set to bake at 425 degrees, the oven would appear to heat properly, but tried and true recipes would be pasty and uncooked at the expected time. I inserted an oven thermometer inside to test and found an erratic pattern of oven heating up properly to 425 but then sometimes dropping back to about 350 during cook time and refusing to ever reach 425 again. ABT repairman adjusted temperature calibration but refused to troubleshoot any further. Just ruined another dinner. Thanks Dacor and ABT for your unreliable product and poor service.

Replaced main board on top of oven because of oven light turning itself off and on endlessly. Cost was near 400 dollars with service call. Now, 2 years later, F1 beeping nonstop, and we have to turn power off to stop it. Last night, the beeping started at 3 am! I would never buy another Dacor oven. The Dacor microwave has never been able to pop popcorn. Now the carousel is failing to rotate. The only thing positive about Dacor is the styling.

Dacor refuses to take responsibility for defects in their products. Our wall oven required two cooling fan motors and two relay boards over a relatively short period of time. In addition, all of the sensors had to be hard wired when the oven stopped working, and our service technician was informed by Dacor that moisture tended to get into the sensors on these ovens. We spent nearly $1500 on these repairs. Reaching a customer care representative at Dacor can take upwards of 20 minutes. Phone calls are not returned. Customers are left to pay the cost of defects in Dacor products.

DONT recommend model #MOH130. We were so impressed with the options that this oven came with. Sadly, with all the bells and whistles also came a ton of repairs. After the 4th repair, our service rep said the relay board needed to be switched out. (Half of the service men who came to my house seemed to be grasping at straws trying to come up with an explanation why the temperature was fluctuating, or why it took so long to heat up, etc.) Then I get to wait 2 weeks for a part to be ordered/arrived and re-schedule service. Last week got code U22 - oven wont even turn on. This oven is only 6 years old. NO THANKS - NEVER AGAIN will I buy anything from this company.

Warning: Warning, safety hazzard for all, adults and children. Recommendation: The knobs should be set on the top of the stove, not the front where children can reach. Control knobs should click when fire and gas is turned off, and highest flame setting should be at the end of the turn just like a clock. I inherited this range as new owner of the house. Today I used the high flame option of the gas stove. When I was done with cooking, I turned off the gas according to the knob position, front of the turn. Later I discovered the range was not exactly off. It was still hot but no flame could be seen.I checked by sight the control knob position, it was set incorrectly in off. Then I touched it and realized the knob actually has a bit more to go to the end, slightly before the off position. Therefore it continues to release gas with unobservable flame. This knob does not click when user turns it to the off position. It is just a silent knob with an inaccurate cue of a heavier black line for off and on indication. Besides, high flame setting comes at the beginning of the turn of the knob rather than the end, it is counter intuitive to our mind of increase heat by turning the knob further on, like our clock. Oven racks are hard to put back after cleaning. Once a rack almost tumble out while food was sitting on it.

I purchased my Dacor Epicure Range 8 years ago when I remodeled my kitchen.
I purchased my Dacor Epicure Range 8 years ago when I remodeled my kitchen. My other appliances were made by GE and Bosch. Ive had to service my GE appliances a couple of times in the last 8 years, but it is the Dacor that has given me the most grief and it was the most expensive appliance purchased. It has never been reliable with regard to convection baking. Initially I thought it was my inexperience with a convection oven. I read everything I could get my hands on and kept trying...after talking with a friend who does quite a bit of baking I realized its not me, its my oven. Then the real problems started. First it was the broiler/ignitor, next it was the membrane in the keypad. Two months later it was the relay board and this time it was the broiler/ignitor....Again! Started calling Dacor when the relay board went out because at this point I had spent $1,000 on repairs....after I had paid $4,000 for the range itself. For the last two repairs Dacor has paid for the parts, while I paid for the service call and labor. This has reduced the cost of my last two repairs by about 50%, which is very helpful. However, Im still very disappointed in the product. I spend a good deal of time in my kitchen and do quite a bit of baking, cooking, and canning. I thought that if I spent more money and bought a high-end appliance, it would serve me well. At the rate that Im going, I will need to purchase another range, unless I want to keep throwing money into repairs on this one, which I dont. I will not ever purchase (or recommend) another Dacor product again.

We were very satisfied with our appliances the first time we remodeled, that we purchased them again, and have not had any problems. Purchased a Dacor Epicure ER36DSCH/NG RANGE and oven in 2007. Sad story, it never worked properly since day 1. Initially a gas burner did not light, they came and repaired it. Subsequently the door lock failed in the lock position - had that repaired. The door lock failed the next year again, this time thanksgiving, ruined the dinner. They fixed it but the following year the lower burner element failed at Thanksgiving. All my relatives know not to purchase a Dacor product. Problem is I am stuck with this boat anchor. The oven door motor has failed 3 more times and thankfully the service man showed me how to change it. Today we tried to bake some apple pies and found the oven temperature set at 450 was only 350 (bought an oven thermometer). This explains why it always takes so long to bake things. In 2008 I had the luxury of choosing kitchen appliances for our new home. I looked at them all and felt Dacor was the best choice. Choosing Dacor for our kitchen was the worst mistake I have made in kitchen appliances in any house in which I have lived (and there have been quite a few). The oven (48 dual fuel range) didnt work from day one. There was a problem with the temperature control. The oven would not shut off when it reached the desired temperature. Disappointing, but I told myself that sometimes things can go wrong and it should be an easy fix. Well, many service calls later and several re-wires of the unit, along with the installation of many new parts, the range still does not perform as well as the worst oven I have ever had. There is a tool that comes with the range that is used for taking the top off the unit to access the wires. My range was taken apart so many times that the tool wore out and had to be replaced. The front piece of the range no longer fits flush with the rest of the range. On one of our last service calls, I was told by the serviceman that Dacor said that under no circumstances would they consider replacement of my obviously faulty, beyond repair range. Eventually I got tired of repeated service calls. Sometimes servicemen would come out and say they didnt know how to fix it and leave. I would not expect such poor customer service from an entry level company. From a company touting themselves as a manufacturer of top of the line products, I would expect a greater desire to stand behind their products. The oven still does not work well. On convection bake, I must turn cookie sheets around or I will have doughy cookies on the same sheet as burned cookies. And forget using the convection setting to bake 2 sheets of cookies at once - it takes longer than baking them separately. I wish I could attach a picture! I also chose a Dacor microwave and refrigerator. One of the salesmen I spoke with about refrigerators said to make sure the unit we select did not have air transfer between the refrigerator and freezer, and the Dacor model did not do this. Well, when my 48 side-by-side arrived, it had the air transfer. I was disappointed but chose to live with it. Of greater concern to me is the noise the unit makes at times - sometimes loud enough I can hear it in other rooms of the house. I have not bothered to call for service. Im not interested in another fight to get Dacor to stand behind their poor quality overpriced products. At this point, I have no expectation of Dacor standing behind their products. I just want to share my experience with others who may be in the same situation I was - designing their dream kitchen - and save them the regret and continual disappointment in their Dacor products.

We have a Dacor gas range RSD30R that we bought to upgrade our kitchen in 2002. We have had several issues with the range to date. The first issue we had with the range was the auto lock for the oven cleaning cycle that failed in 2007. It was not covered under warranty and cost $88. The second item to fail were the oven door springs. They also failed in 2007 and covered under warranty. They failed again in 2017 and had to be replaced for a second time. The springs are too weak to hold the weight of the heavy door. $68-$78 for the springs. The springs could easily be changed out as the brackets are still good but they only come as complete units. The last item to fail were the ignitors. Only one ignitor failed out of the four but as the spark module ignites all burners every time any one is turned on, premature failure could be expected as all ignitors light every time. This time the part is no longer available from Dacor. Dacor does not support any products they build after 7-8 years. Parts will no longer be available. I would not recommend Dacor Appliances to anyone as the manufacturer does not support their own products very long. I purchased Dacor to buy American and I regret it now. In contrast every product that Miele made even 20+ years ago, parts are still available directly from Miele and other suppliers as well.

I have a 4 year old Dacor Renaissance 36 in gas range. The thermostat is broken, the self-clean cycle doesnt work due to a broken lock and the oven indicator light stopped working about 2 years ago. Pros: It is an attractive oven with the knobs that light up blue when on and the burners all work fine but that is it! The technician told me ALL parts I need are on backorder due to Dacor being bought out by Samsung 2 years ago and COVID related delays. He also told me there is no ETA on those parts and said it could be an unknown amount of months. So now I dont have an oven for an unknown amount of time. This is unacceptable. I was sharing my frustrations with a friend who recommended I post this on Dacor Applicances Facebook page. He thought I would get an immediate helpful response. So I did. It was taken down not more than 3 minutes after it was posted! They never even reached out. Pretty poor company service. I will never buy Dacor anything again. Even when the oven was working ok - it never kept good heat and the self-clean cycle never cleaned well - there was lots of grease residue left behind. This is a poor quality company all around. I have 2 single ovens side by side and have a cooktop and ventilation system - my experience with the cooktop and vent (2000) was so good that I did not hesitate to buy Dacor MorS130S ovens. They were installed in my new kitchen in September of 2012. I had my cooktop and ventilation system reinstalled. My daughter accidentally cleaned the oven without taking out the GlideRacks (which are hard to take out). We oiled them, etc., like the manual says if they are accidentally left in - they will not glide at all and now I am being told $300 each to replace excluding the cost of the service call. This is ridiculous. What kind of design is so poor that racks would get in this condition? I had Bosch ovens before and their warranty was wonderful and I, luckily, bought a Miele dishwasher which has a 10-year warranty. I would not buy Dacor again because of the warranty and because of this problem. I am beyond disappointed as I love my cooktop etc. I feel that Dacor should at least pay for part of these GlideRacks.

It was still under warranty, but it was very hard to find someone to honor the warranty. We got that fixed, then the oven light started to come on and off randomly. We purchased a DACOR double wall oven (MOH2275) in April 2012. We are waiting for service to arrive for the fourth time since we purchased the oven. I find this unacceptable. We have had 2 other ovens in the last 30 years and they did not need any service. In general I have found appliances to be of such reliability that I dont get extended warranties. DACOR gave a 3 year warranty on this oven and now I know why. Hopefully this service will fix it for a long period of time.On the positive side, the oven really works well. It is so well insulated that we feel very little heat coming off it. One serious flaw its overall operation is the reheating of the oven. If I bake something at 350 degrees and then want to reset the over to 450 degrees, the oven does not go into preheat mode and does not let you know when you reach the required temperature. I am hopeful this will last awhile and not have to be replaced for what we paid for it.

We did a major remodel in 2006 and were talked into Dacor Appliances by the kitchen planner. Big Mistake! The first time we tried to do the wall oven self-cleaning, the circuit board blew out. Since it was just past warranty and no one near us in West Virginia would work on it, I found a board online for $200.00 and replaced it. It has never heated evenly and now it wont heat past 350 F and maintain temp. The Dacor range hood sounds like a jet plane and the variable speed switch wont reduce rate. The bulbs burned out and after buying two online for $30 each, I removed the decorative housing and use a more standard $10 bulb. The Dacor gas cooktop is OK except that EVERY time you turn on a burner, one or two of other igniters start clicking and wont stop until you find which one it is (not always the same) and turn it on and off. Please heed this and all the other warnings from the choir. DO NOT BUY DACOR! It is all very expensive junk! I only gave it 1 star because there was no way to rate Dacor a zero!

I am writing to complain about our Dacor dual fuel stove that we purchased
I am writing to complain about our Dacor dual fuel stove that we purchased in 1998 when we built our house. Initially things went well, and I enjoyed baking in the oven and the convenience of the gas stove top when we had power issues. But then the honeymoon ended, and the problems started. After completing our first self clean cycle, we started getting the F1 code, and noticed cracks in the front on the stove. Our repair guy came out, took a look, and then informed me that Dacor had had numerous problems, and were not so good about living up to their warranty. He was right, Dacor felt in no way that they should help resolve our problem. With 4 kids, you cant just go without a stove, so we paid for the parts and repair. I figured it was just a one time thing, but I was wrong. We are now again looking at replacing the same part just 3 years later again with cracks and the F1 code. Dacor should be ashamed. Do the math. If they walk away from responsibility on all of these faulty products that average $5,000 a piece, shouldnt they have the money to pay for the fixes or maybe hire better engineers? They need to be held accountable for this mess. I need my oven back on!!!! And after the money we have paid for repairs, light bulbs, and parts...... the rest of the care should be free and on them.

Dangerous condition! I purchased a Dacor 36 dual fuel range 5 years ago. I reported the issue to Dacor via email with no response from customer service. I believe the no response was an attempt by Dacor to distance themselves from their responsibility for this potentially dangerous condition. Specifics: When pre-heating the oven in convection/bake mode, if the oven door is opened before reaching the set pre-heat temperature, a ball of flame will explode up from the opened door. The ball of flame is basketball sized and has singed eyebrows and hair on several occasions. To reiterate - it is a ball of flame, not super-heated air that is the problem. As a result, after non-response from Dacor, we called a decor qualified repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. The igniter was replaced and the problem still exists. I fear that a small child may be severely burned by the engineering design fault.

We renovated our kitchen and as part of this had installed the new Dacor Modernist Fridge and Freezer columns at a VERY hefty price tag. We were going to get a subzero and changed our minds when we saw these products - the styling, design and function looked so much better than Sub-Zero, despite the higher price tag. Well, fast forward about 8 months and we dont have a functioning fridge. It stopped cooling out of nowhere. We had to throw everything away. After FINALLY getting a repair person to the house, they told me that it was because the fridge had run out of gas (freon or whatever the coolant is thats used). When asked how that happened they said they didnt know, but that they couldnt repair it as they needed a part from Dacor. A WEEK later, they finally got the part and came back to repair the fridge. 4-5 hours later it still was not repaired and they said they needed another part. Its been almost two weeks since then and the part has still not arrived. We had a BlueStar range installed when redoing the kitchen and when we had a problem with that, they overnighted the part, so that they could fix it right away. This is not the case here - the customer service has been absolutely horrendous and Ferguson Appliances (where I bought the fridge from) has been at their wits end with this (I cant say enough about how wonderful Ferguson has been to deal with). This has been a nightmare. Now the repair place wont even schedule a repair date because they dont want to lose the time again in case the part doesnt show up again... DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE. Its $600 each time for parts and labor... The part alone costs $500. The company does not warranty the relay board. At this point, we should have purchased a new wall oven. They claim these are superior appliances. Our gas stove top works well, but the wall oven and refrigerator have been nothing but problematic. We will never purchase this brand again.

We have a new (one year old) home with Dacor appliances. The microwave oven went on the blink the first month but was repaired by a factory approved repairman. Something to do with the computer. Now the double oven will not hold a temperature. We set the oven at 420 and it only goes to 360 even though the readout shows 420. We just decided to skip the repair process and bought a new Wolf oven. This is our second Dacor within the past two years and both have had the same problem. Dont waste your money.

We built a home in 2006 and installed all Dacor appliances. I would never ever purchase these products again. My gas cooktop was the top of the line product from Dacor and I have had nothing but problems with it for 5 years now. I have spent over $1000 fixing the large burner that continues to have leaks with the seal to the point where the flames come out the bottom of the burner. Most of the other burners click when lit even though they are clean and away from a draft. I have had 2 Dacor approved repair companies out and they both recommended against Dacor. In addition, the finish on the cooktop has soaked in my heavy duty cooking juices and foods and the stains will not come out. Apparently, this is due to the new finish they used so that the metal can withstand the high temperatures. If this company were an auto mfg., they would have had to do recalls and face potential class action suits. I would prefer to be cooking on a camp stove rather than my Dacor. When I contacted Dacor, they offered parts at a reduced rate which still cost a fortune. When I asked about replacement, they said they would sell to me at a discounted rate which was still $2400. Bad product, bad company. My cooktop is still giving me issues. it is embarrassing to cook with friends around because of the problems.

This is a follow-up to my initial complaint, which was posted on November 28, 2011, and an updated posting on December 27, concerning problems with our Dacor range. What we learned was that the local appliance shop that services Dacor quit working on Dacor appliances, so we were left with no repair company. We were contacted by the customer service representative from Dacor, who has been very diligent in working with us to find a solution.Yesterday, the Dacor regional service supervisor from Washington came to Casper to work on our oven, which is now totally functional. Pretty amazing customer service! He did share with us Dacors challenges in getting qualified local service companies, especially in smaller towns. I applaud Dacor for going the extra mile (1,000+ miles, to be more accurate) for us.

We remodeled our kitchen and decided to use the range as the focal point of the room. The decision to go with a Dacor ER36DSCH dual fuel range over comparable Wolf and Viking models as well as a Dacor heating drawer was made, a decision I have regretted since. Our unit keeps blowing the baking element ($200) which routinely fails at the most inopportune times. To date I have replaced four and the Mrs. recently informed me that the oven is once again not heating properly. Thankfully, I am competent enough to diagnosis and repair it myself and did a thorough operational inspection and cleaning which revealed the broil element ($180) had also gone bad this time. My wife hates this oven and unfortunately it sits right smack in the middle of our beautiful kitchen to remind us of the bad decision we made. In fact, we are now at the point where we are considering replacing it and sending it to a scrap yard where it belongs. Avoid this brand or it will cost you.

We purchased a Dacor induction range 5 years ago which cost $5000 plus installation parts and service costs totalling $10000. Two days ago, an error code showed up indicating that the generator needs replacement. I contacted Dacor who states that the part is discontinued but that I could contact a refurbishing company (Corecentric) to send my generator to for possible repair. A service technician would have to remove the generator, I would send the part to Corecentric, then IF they can repair it, the tech needs to reinstall it. There are no service providers that Dacor referred me to that will service a refurbished part. Even if I wanted to try, I as an owner, cannot remove it myself because Dacor does not provide the service manual to do so. I spoke to Dacor multiple times about this problem and management stated that since the product is so out of warranty that they cannot offer any other repair option, compensation, or replacement even if the part is deemed unrepairable by Corecentric. When you pay $10000 for a product I expect it to last more than five years and that a reputable company would stand by their product and service. Essentially, Dacor inferred that we are out of $10000 because a part that POSSIBLY can be refurbished for $215 plus service costs, cant get serviced and Dacor takes no further responsibility. I have heard stories from appliance providers and service providers that since Dacor joined Samsung, that their customer service is poor and products have become inferior.

We purchased a home with a 5 year old Dacor Discovery IQ Double Wall Oven.
We purchased a home with a 5 year old Dacor Discovery IQ Double Wall Oven. Model Number DYO230S. Great looking and it has a very sophisticated and functionally rich digital control system. Problem is the digital control system does not work. The stove has a mind of its own and will just shut off for 24 to 48 hours and return to function randomly. Shutting the power off and turning it back on has no effect. Dacor (Now Samsung) has been completely un-helpful. Bottom line response - tough. Product is no longer produced, replacement parts no longer in stock - maybe there is a part on eBay ** Honest that is the answer. I have called parts companies who also complain about Dacor (now Samsung). No luck. So we will now need to purchase a replacement product for anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000 dollars. To replace a 5 year old - 8,000 product. It will definitely not be a Dacor or Samsung product. And I will do my best to put similar reviews on the internet where ever I can.Just to add some balance - 21 years ago we custom built a home and purchased two Dacor ovens. Both were great. 21 years of flawless operation. When we saw this oven as we went through the home purchase process we were delighted. What a disappointment. Also - before the oven started to go wacky on us we needed to replace the bulbs (2) in the oven light fixture. Initially I contacted Dacor parts and had a very pleasant experience ordering the two replacements. However nothing came to our home. Called again and found that Dacor had been sold to Samsung and the price of the bulbs had doubled or more. No exaggeration. Stay away from Dacor and Samsung.

In September 2009 we did a complete remodel of our kitchen. Replaced everything but the refrigerator, with DACOR appliances. Within a few months we had problems with the dishwasher and finally replaced it with a GE in 2012. About that same time we had problems with the Dacor Epicure 30 Single Oven Model EO130SCH control panel and had to have the repairman out to work on the relay/computer board. At Christmas 2015 I had trouble baking, the temperature wasnt accurate and have had the repairman again. He says that the computer board is fried (his term). Ive tried calling Customer Service with no success. Ive e-mailed them with same results. The appliance repairman has told me that he cant find the part. All the distributors that hes called have been told that the part is on back order. Ive been without an oven for over two months now with no fix in sight. Have been told that IF we find the part it will probably run around $500.00. These are appliances that are only six years old and have had gentle use by senior citizens. Anyone reading this - PLEASE DONT BUY DACOR! Youll be sorry as I am.

Wish Id known Dacor issues when buying my oven. (Primarily for style - yes, assumed it would function as stated; high end brand). Thank goodness I DID NOT BUY other Dacor appliances. My 30-inch Dacor oven/cooktop burners work but finish started coming off quickly. Above range microwave handle broke within a year. MAIN PROBLEM: OVEN DOOR either wasnt properly installed because it doesnt close flush with unit or its hinges have loosened over the years. Although oven eventually heats, it takes forever. After examining door hinges closely, looks like oven has become unhinged - as have I. No loose parts seen. Recommendations? Other than STEER CLEAR OF DACOR.

This is the second time I have purchased these appliances and unfortunately each one has been a great disappointment. I have spent enough in repair bills to almost purchase a warming drawer. Each one shuts down when the self clean button is turned on, and then I have to call a repairman out to recalibrate the oven to work each time I try to use the self clean. I was told by the last repairman that the life of the oven is greatly shortened if you the self clean mode. If this is the case, either fix it or take out this mode. After I had the oven about a year the oven door glass blew out, and this had to be replaced. The temperature in the oven is very unreliable in different areas of the oven and browns more on one side than the other... For the high end cost of these ovens, I would just as soon have a basic oven that works and does not go out every few months. What a waste of money I consider Dacor to be, and will never recommend it to anyone I know. I am in the personal shopping business and have my own company, but will tell my clients to be very aware of the high cost/low performance of Dacor products... On a scale of 1 to 10, Dacor gets a 1.

ZERO STARS if I could but DISAPPOINTED - if I had to use one word to describe our experience with Dacor with not only our $8K+ 42 Built In Refrigerator that is sitting at 70+ degrees in the freezer and fridge sections but SO DISAPPOINTED with their poor customer service and lack of concern resolution tools for their team to even try to help. They are supposed to have high end luxury products. With that, anyone would expect to have a luxury customer experience. However, our family has been WITHOUT a working unit since January 6th. That is less than a month from when we had it installed but almost a month from today. We followed the proper protocols to get it repaired. Took almost two weeks to even get a technician. Once we did, he confirmed it needed to be replaced. We got approval and now learned we have wait another 2-3 weeks to get a separate decision to be made.Requested if there is any way to escalate our concerns but cant even talk to a supervisor for another 24-48 hours... Apparently they will call when it is convenient to them. Dacor - have some empathy for your customers! Imagine paying for a high end product to have no working fridge or freezer for a family of 6. Not sure how this is an acceptable practice. POOR QUALITY, UNTRUSTWORTHY, DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Arrived in good condition and so far works perfectly. Delivery was delayed by one day because of the incompetence of my local mail service. I bought this microwave, as others have described, to replace a 13 year old Dacor that had not really died but had lost the electronic screen. We put magic marker numbers on the display screen where the numbers had been 5 years ago and kept using all the functions. I decided to replace as, without the display screen, I could not do anything semi sophisticated with this microwave but its motor and microwave capacity was still going strong. This model fits perfectly into the previous 24/27 trim kit. Unfortunately our other trim kit is white to match our old microwave. Decor only has stainless steel now. And the new trim kit for this microwave is flat without the vent slats (plus costs over $300!). From the placement in our cabinet, I think the vented slats are really important to dissipate heat and am puzzled by the change in design by Dacor. The slats are a little tedious to clean but as a TV is above the microwave and an oven below I want the heat to have a better place to go. Ebay has the old trim kit in stainless steel but so far the expense seems excessive for just the outside piece. The internal support bracket for the new microwave is exactly the same as for the previous model so the only part of the trim kit needed for my microwave is the outside frame. This newer model works very similarly to the older version. I am delighted Dacor still makes this microwave to fit my space 13 to 15 years later.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2006. I spent a fortune on a Dacor dual fuel gas cooktop with electric oven/convection oven. My Dacor problems seem so normal I mostly deal with it. My 2 biggest complaints are the glass oven door is not airtight, it is darkened between glass, very hard to monitor my baking. And the temp gauge has always been off by 15-25 degrees. I have a Dacor 27 inch wall (model EOR) oven which I bought 2 years ago, along with a micro and a warming drawer. Since then, the control panel has been replaced twice. Both times because, after using the timer mode, the beeper would come on at all hours of the day and night. In both instances, I had to cut the power to the oven until the replacement part arrived. I am presently waiting for the third panel to arrive. Today I needed to bake something, so I turned the power to the oven back on. Now it will only function at 350 degrees and only in the bake mode. No other numbers can be put in and nothing happens when I select convection. So far Dacor has absorbed the cost of the parts and repairs, but that does not mitigate the hassle of having to wait upwards of 2 months for a part each time this happens.

In August of 2005, I purchased a Dacor pro range. In December 2005, the control panel began to blink and lose display. Dacor gave me names of 2 authorized repair people. After several visits by a repairman, I phoned Dacor and was told to call a repairman. They obviously didnt listen to me! The repairman spoke with Dacor representative who responded that the display needed to be ‘rebooted just like a computer.’ Several times a month, I must go to the electric control panel in my basement to turn the breaker switch off and on in an effort to ‘reboot’. In September 2010, the display panel went dark and could not be ‘rebooted’. I had to replace to control the membrane at a cost of $530.69 plus $169 for labor and a service call. On Thanksgiving 2010, the ‘new’ display panel which was obviously defective, stopped working. Once again, a new membrane had to be ordered and installed incurring another service and labor charge! I sent a letter to Dacor wanting reimbursement of labor/service on original defective membrane and was advised that they warranty their products, not the service! It is now November 16, 2011 and I still must continuously ‘reboot’ the control panel! However, I spoke to an authorized Dacor repairman who told me that Dacor has had many complaints such as mine and now have a devise which attaches to the power cord and filters out the ‘noise’ from other household items which disrupts the control panel on my oven! Is there a reason why Dacor is keeping this a secret? Do they not want to make their consumers happy? I cant wait to be rid off this appliance and all association with the Dacor company!

The electronics on the first two induction burners failed within six months which was covered under warranty. The second two went three weeks after the warranty and we had to argue with Dacor to cover them otherwise it is a $1400 repair job. From day one whenever you open the oven door the controls and heat shut off. Sometimes it turns back on when you close the door. As for the downdraft, it worked fine until 10 weeks ago when while closing, the cover lip hit a wooden spoon that had been lying flat near the edge. There is no safety feature and the motor continued to try and close the fan. The unit would not respond and would not re-open. The spoon had to be broken to get it out. If this was a childs finger you would have had to call 911. We now have a repair bill of over $350 and are still waiting for 2 months for Dacor to send a part. We will never buy this brand again.

I paid over $6000.00 for a Dacor EF48BNDBSS refrigerator and have had nothing but problems with this item and the other Dacor item (dishwasher) that I bought when I had a new kitchen built for my new life of retirement. The first refrigerator that was delivered did not work when it was installed and was returned immediately. I had to wait for Dacor to send another one and I have had to pay several service calls each time since that point. I am disgusted that I paid over $10,000 on two appliances from Dacor and neither of them has ever worked even at a low grade basic level. Both of my items have been discontinued and Dacor reimbursed me for half of what I paid for the dishwasher, which did not even cover all of the repair calls that I had paid for ongoing service. At that dealing, I got tired of paying for repair calls for the refrigerator due to excessive icing in the freezer; supposedly there was a quick fix right after I had the unit installed and it did not fix the issue. Now, there is another quick fix that Dacor suggests and that will cost me $800. Really? I dont think so. In fact, I have researched this issue and have found that this quick fix does not solve the problem either. In addition, I have called Dacor numerous times about the refrigerator door not sealing and the refrigerator making all kinds of strange noises. They told me it was the seal, so I had the seal replaced and that was not the issue. Then I paid $235.00 for a service call to look at the seal and he said that this refrigerator has known problems for hinge issues and he attempted to fix the hinge and left and the problem continued. Between the hinge issues, the constant icing issues in the freezer and the food icing over as well along with the trays and inner shelving of the freezer, the refrigerator sealing and the hinges working, and the constant crazy noises that the refrigerator makes, I am ready to file a lawsuit for a lemon of a product. This is the second product that has recall issues and multiple problems. I am sure that with my documentation, a judge would have no problem agreeing that I have paid way too much and put in way too much time and energy into getting a decent appliance into my kitchen. I would never recommend Dacor to anyone. I am dissatisfied and refuse to pay another penny for service calls on these appliances that were installed in 08/2012. At this point, my refrigerator is unplugged and unusable and I am using a small refrigerator that I bought at Costco for $300.00 thirteen years ago that has never had one problem.

I called customer service to ask general directions on how to remove the top of my oven range. The person answering the phone (01/23/2017 at 4:25 PM) would not let me talk to anyone in service. I asked him why, and are you ready for this? He said we cant talk to customer service for our own security.. No kidding. The idiot went on to try and tell me it was for my protection! After arguing further, I asked him to again connect me with a technician. He puts me on hold and comes back and says The technician said to call a service provider - unbelievable. I will NEVER buy a DACOR product again! What morons think they can sustain a business with this approach to service!

October 2013 we had the Dacor model# EORD230SCH installed. It broke just in time for Thanksgiving! After several attempts of repairs, Dacor replaced this oven model# EORD230SCH with the next newer model at no cost. Not more than one month later the replacement oven doesnt work. Service is painfully slow. We had a 03 year warranty on the original purchase and the clock keeps ticking from the date of the initial installation. WE have asked for and been denied by Dacor, to reinstate the 03 year warranty once the unit is actually working. We bought this unit, spent extra money, thinking we were buying quality. So, two ovens in less than one year, doesnt equate to a quality product to me. Keep getting the standard answer about the warranty - no added time will be assigned.

I will NEVER buy Dacor EVER again. We built a house and after looking at other high-end appliance makers and upon my mothers strong recommendation, we installed all Dacor appliances in our new kitchen. My mother based her recommendation of Dacor appliances due to what she explained as their excellent customer service. HA!! Less than 3 years after installing our pricey Dacor Epicure over-sized dishwasher it has rusted racks -- top and bottom! After experiencing a very painful, drawn-out and EXPENSIVE process of getting our racks replaced, I am not confident AT ALL that our frustrations with this dishwasher are over yet. The new retrofit slides on the top rack are so lightweight I cant imagine they will effectively operate for years to come. I have difficulty closing my dishwasher properly now and have to check each time I run it for leaks on the floor. Ive given up on my Dacor dishwasher and have resigned myself to eventually replacing it. NEVER buy Dacor!

I bought a 30 Dacor Double Oven (EO230SCH), 36 cooktop, warming drawer and matching convection microwave. Well over $10k. The microwave has been replaced as it died early within the first year while cooking popcorn - nearly started a fire in the kitchen... However the cooktop igniter died at 4 years and now the wall oven is on its third control board in years 3, 4 and 5. Nothing is under warranty and they want nothing to do with me now. The replacement oven controls cost ~$400 each plus installation. So after all this expense, I have invested $1,200 more in replacement parts and the cooktop needs an aim & flame to light. Total crap. Im going to replace all of this and will never go back to Dacor. I took the time to write this so that others will not waste their time with what I have to assume is the worst quality in the industry. Please dont waste your money.
