We just love our Fisher Paykel 2-drawer dishwasher. It is the Best Appliance. If you have Small Loads, use just (1) drawer. If youre having a Party & need to clean some dishes that youll need cleaned while youre cooking/serving use the other drawer -- while youre loading dirty dishes in the other. Their customer service is Outstanding - one phone call and they will fix any problems. 3 yr warranty WOW.

My other choice would have been KitchenAid but I think they quit making these double drawer dishwashers that I got. The old dishwasher had stopped working. The unit I replaced was real cheap... It’s no comparison. But I don’t get to use this one - my tenant uses it but he’s not complaining about it. And I’ve asked him a couple of times, “How is it working?” And he says it’s good. I’m the one who purchased it and searched it out and make sure I’m making the right decision. The rep was very knowledgeable and answered my questions

I bought my Fisher-Paykel dishwasher in 1/09. It worked fine for a few months, but started beeping and would stop running. I contacted Fisher-Paykel and they recommended I use the dishwasher cleaner, which I did. It ran fine for a while but again started beeping. This time I contacted Jeffers-McGill in Columbia, where I bought the dishwasher. They were very unconcerned and gave me the name of a repair company. I have had 2 technicians come, neither seemed to know how to fix it, and after paying $132, I still dont have a dishwasher that is running correctly. One of the technicians indicated it had been installed wrong. I have now spent over $200 for a $1,000 machine, and still dont have a dishwasher I can depend on. In fact, the 1st dishwasher I bought from Jeffers-McGill started giving me problems after only 2 years, at which time I bought the Fisher-Paykel. I will never buy another appliance from Jeffers-McGill, nor will my family, former good customers of theirs. What do I do now? I am very upset about spending so much money on an elite appliance that is not living up to its reputation.

Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud.
Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud. It is less than 3 years old and so you would not think these sorts of things would happen. The oven began shutting itself off, during its use, for no apparent reason. Sometimes it would shut off within seconds, other times during a cycle and so there would not be any warning, I would just come around the corner and see the light flashing and know that it had shut itself off. F&P suggested I contact the nearest authorized service tech. I had to explain, to 3 different people, (even sent a map) that the person they were recommending was a 10 hour drive, with a 2 hour ferry ride.I finally found a local person who is willing to look at my range but only if he can obtain a service manual so he can look the product over first, before coming out. Fisher & Paykel say only authorized people can have a copy. This person is willing to fix my range and they wont let him. Now a new problem appeared today. I suddenly have 2 elements not operating. There is an error code coming up, on the 2 elements on the same side, even though I am only trying to turn 1 of them on. And, the kicker is, there is no such error code in their consumer manual that is displayed on my stovetop. I strongly recommend people stay away from Fisher & Paykel.

I have owned a F&P double dishwasher for 7 years. Approximately 6 months ago, the machine began to leak on the top level and the dishes were not clean on the bottom. I looked on the F&P website and found the information for several nearby repairmen. I contacted the first person and he came to check the machine. He charged $80 to look at it & stated that he needed to order a part. We called him several times in the next few weeks, but he said the part was not in. After a few more calls, we gave up and called a 2nd repair from the list. Unfortunately, we had the same experience (and paying $143) - after calling 3 or 4 times, the repairman never returned our call.I called F&P customer service and explained what happened. The customer service person gave us another repair shop to call and stated that F&P would likely reimburse us for the house call fees, which was now over $200 with no repairs done. The new company that we called stated that they only fix machines that they have sold & that F&P should NOT have given out their information. I called back and got yet another name, which, thankfully turned out to be legitimate. Our machine was finally fixed (at a cost of $372). My dissatisfaction is with the referring of several repair companies who clearly could not fix our machine, and paying money for no service. When I contacted F&P about the events above, I was told that they would NOT reimburse me the house call money. I assure you that I would not purchase another of their products!

This fridge caused only problem for me... broke in 2011, my new kitchen cabinet were damage and after sending all documents, Fisher said to me to send the invoice to them when the work is done but not guaranteed that they will pay... to be continued. And have another problem with it, plastic in door hinge always broke, even if we close door very gently. Im really not happy with my purchase. I had 2 refrigerator in 30 years and this one will be changed very soon because its only causing problem to me. Very nice looking, very nice for space inside but the rest, for the price Ive paid....not worth it. Customer service in Quebec is very very poor.

I have bought Maytag dryers for many years and after trying to repair my old one, I just gave up and looked around for a new gas dryer. I finally found exactly the type of dryer I was looking for. To my surprise, it was not a Maytag, it was a Fisher Paykel. I was not familiar with this brand, but it was just what wanted. I have now had it for seven months and I couldnt be happier.

Tonight is the third time that my washer has stopped working. It does not drain now and will not power on. This washer has been nothing but trouble since purchased. I regret ever getting rid of my old washer. It was dependable. I think this is a sub-standard product and after reading the reviews here, I see that I am not the only person that feels this way. You should not have to have service on such a new product as often as you do on this. I am in good mind to just junk it and go buy a cheap regular washer that I can depend on. I am very frustrated and I am telling everyone that I know to stay away from this product. I have called customer service and left messages, but so far I have not had a return call. The customer service is horrible, too.

Five and a half years ago, I purchased a Fisher Paykel Aerotech oven from Lowes. This evening, I cooked a pizza on the Aero Pastry setting per the oven manual. I turned it off and my family sat down to eat. We finished eating and were getting ready to go to the pool when my husband decided it was too late and we would stay home instead. Lucky for us because when he looked at the oven, he noticed flames on the inside of the inner cover shooting out. He ran downstairs and turned off the breaker and I threw baking soda on them. After the oven cooled, he took off the back plate and the heating element was cracked and melted. If we had left and not looked inside the oven, we would have come home to find our dog dead and everything we owned gone. No, Im not happy at all.

I have a Fisher Paykel oven and Ive had it for 7 years. I have used the self-clean function only twice and both times the oven overheated and stopped working. The repairs were expensive, $500 - $600, I could have paid for a new oven if Id known it would happen twice. The second time this happened, the repairman told me that Fisher Paykel was aware of the defective thermostat and I could have it replaced but the piece alone cost about $500! I felt that Fisher Paykel should install the part for free since the problem is their fault. I opted to just repair the oven and never use the self clean function again.

We bought a DD603 dishwasher in 2002 and it has worked reasonably well since then. However, a problem seems to have developed on the top drawer. I recently cut my finger when pulling it open, and discovered three sharp, probably metal projections on the pull. I can only conclude that this must be a design defect. The minimum cost in my area for a service call from an authorized servicer is $65 for just a diagnosis. F&P refuses to defray any part of this cost.

I have just bought a Fisher and Paykel fridge (E373L WW). I chose this brand only because nobody else makes a fridge of this size without a freezer. Well, nobody whose products are imported into New Zealand, anyway. I dont need a freezer. I lost confidence in Fisher Paykel many years ago. It is so hard to believe this company was once so highly revered by every New Zealand housewife. They made washing machines and fridges that never break down; well, not until well into old age. I still have in use a chest freezer made by them in the 1970s. They must have made enough profit in those days making products that lasted. Why cant they still do so? My fridge is only 6 weeks old and appears to be working fine. The two stars is not for the fridge but the company.

I have a washer and dryer set that I have had for a few years. It has not been anything but trouble since I have had them. The washer has been worked on twice and once the repairman left off a hose and water filled my floor and messed up some of my flooring. Then the dryer had been worked on two or three times and right now it sounds like the whole drum is about to come out. I am tired of having to call a repairman to take care of problems. I tried to tell the people that I bought it from that I thought it was a lemon from the get go, because I had not had it maybe 1 month when it had to be worked on the first time. I would not recommend anyone to buy your products, because I have been very disappointed with your products. I still say that I have a lemon and that I should have been given another one in the beginning. That is what happens when you buy a lemon automobile. Appliances cost too much these days to have to keep having them repaired, because the average person nowadays have been cut back in their pay checks and are not able to afford repair bills.

I got the panel ready two drawer dishwasher and built in fridge freezer columns. It has been difficult to get the panels adjusted to fit with the kitchen cabinets. Paid $1200 to have the appliances professionally installed and it still doesnt look right. The appliance installers blame it on the cabinets and cabinet installers blame it on the appliances. The panels on the appliances just dont have enough adjustability to make it line up with the rest of the cabinets. I am very disappointed with the look of the kitchen. Its supposed to be a higher end, custom kitchen and it looks worse than if we just got regular appliances. I regret getting the built-in appliances.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer from Sears roughly 4 years ago. Dryer stopped heating. I found a repair person, had to order parts. It is now 1.5 weeks later and the parts are finally in. It will be another day or so before the repairman can come over, $330 for repair and two weeks of hanging clothes or going to laundromat for drying. I would have to seriously reconsider purchasing this brand again with this type of wait for parts.

As far as the product itself, weve had a great experience with the refrigerator. My biggest issue is with the water filter. It is suggested that you replace the water filter every 6 months. The filters are $50. I find that to be highway robbery. Its absurd to buy a refrigerator and then have to buy new water filters every 6 months. Theres no doubt you could make a filter that lasts longer than that and thats less expensive. I would venture to guess the profit margin on the filter is greater than on the refrigerator. Other than that, my experience has been great. I just feel taken advantage of with respect to the filter.

In 2019 we purchased a kitchen full of appliances; Cook Top, Over, Microwave, two drawer dishwasher, and large bottom draw with two top doors refrigerator/freezer. Quality issues: Microwave cover/front panel is cheap, loose, and I had to do some customization to get it to quit falling off. We like the two-drawer dishwasher, but found it constantly needs adjustments to keep the lower drawer from dragging on the floor, and almost always have to run a max clean setting or re-wash when drawers are full. Over so far is great. Cooktop is great, but the nobs squeak now after just 8 months of use. The refrigerator is our biggest issue… constantly makes excessive motor/fan noise, door/drawer trim constantly falls off, or jams up… Doors don’t align well, and don’t stay aligned.Service issues: The biggest joke ever! Tried for 8 months to get someone our here “AT MY COST even”, to give all these appliances a full re-build, inspection, and/or confirmation that they were installed/assembled correctly. CANNOT find anyone interested is servicing these units, and NO ONE at Fisher & Paykel is interested in finding me support of any kind… nor were the representatives from the appliance store I purchased the units from. Recommendation: - If considering High-End appliances buy THERMADOR, stay away from Fisher & Paykel

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so
7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. I love the quietness of the Fisher & Payker washer. I had heard about them from my brother and I purchased a washer and dryer. We compared them to the LG and my brother has great reviews on how quiet it was and when it came down to it, the sales person said that it was just a little bit above the line than the LG. We thought wed give it a try because we like the idea of it being a quiet experience. This was the first one Ive had without the agitator so it is different and Im still getting used to what setting to use so that it does not wrinkle the clothes so much. We like it so far. I’m getting used to it taking a longer cycle. There is this minor thing. I wish the beeper was louder. Ive got it up to the maximum beep but it’s so quiet I can’t hear it in the other room. Id recommend to anybody to give it a try.

I was quite surprised to read the negative comments about Fisher Paykel! After being a brand loyal kind of gal, everything I owned appliance wise was Maytag. After my Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer broke down 4 times in a year. I decided it was time for a change. I went to my local appliance store and was just about to purchase a new washer/dryer when the salesman tried to sell me an FP. I had never heard of FP before. The salesman made quite the pitch. When I continued to shy away, finally he told me if I tried the units and didnt like them, within 60 days he would exchange both units. Okay, I gave it a shot. I love my FP washer/dryer so much I bought their double drawer dishwasher. I had to call for service once for the dryer and once for the dishwasher. Both were relatively simple problems that were fixed within 20 minutes of the serviceman entering my house. I would have to say I highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

We bought a motorhome and our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawer was part of the package. It is astounding compared to the ones we previously owned. However it was a little hard to get used to because it’s probably a low end model. It doesnt have any lights on it anywhere, it just beeps, and it wasnt working when we first got moved in but they had somebody come out and fix it and the customer service was incredible. My sister-in-law actually has the double drawer model and when she found out I had one she said, “Oh, you will love every bit about it. It’s just incredible!” Not only is it easy and efficient being in a drawer like that, it does consume less water, it’s quiet. We’re very happy with it and we would highly recommend it to anybody.

When an appliance fails, I always believe that the best service you will get will be from the manufacturer. Hence my dish drawer started to make a troubling buzz. I booked a service online with Fisher Paykel, the manufacturer. I received an email that allowed me to track my service. I had booked a service for between 12 and 5pm and the initial time came though as 12-1pm. Immediately this isnt great as its slap bang in the middle of the day, but I requested it so I just reworked my day. Around 10am I got an update that said between 2pm and 3pm. OK, excellent I could now work out what I needed to do around this.At 2.38 its still saying between 2pm and 3pm and then I got a call from the engineer, telling me he has 4 jobs in front of me and wont be here until 5.30pm. Seriously? I called customer service and clearly they say that the app is only giving me a guide time, but why not update it? If the engineer knew his status was 5.30 at 2.38pm, it wasnt between 2-3pm at 1.59pm, was it?I then pointed out that beside this, the engineer would miss my time slot anyway, as 5.30pm is not between 12-5pm. They then offered to reschedule me, but heres where the damage really is. Fisher Paykel I NO LONGER TRUST YOU. Why would I put myself at the mercy of your poor customer service and time keeping again? Why would I allow you to disrespect my day so much by not telling me or keeping me up to date on the time of arrival. As I pointed out, the supermarket can tell me to the minute when they will deliver and they generally get it right. I will always trust them. This is the battle for customer service. Its about trust and Fisher Paykel, YOU FAILED ME. I do not want to deal with companies I cannot trust. Its up to you if you use their service.

We heard about Fisher & Paykel through the RV manufacturer. We custom designed and had built a fifth wheel for us to travel as we do extensive traveling. I did a lot of research and went to different online appliance stores that sold or dealt with the brand. After reading and finding out a couple of things, I decided to go with that particular model. It was all the good reviews not only on the online website that sold numerous appliances but the people who also purchased an RV like us who have installed and used them too that was the deciding factor. The dishwasher is fabulous and very quiet. You never know its running. Its amazing and is absolutely a dream come true. I love it. Its the best appliance that we made a decision to have installed. It makes life easy and works really well. The performance is spectacular.

We remodeled last year and purchased a DCS refrigerator, rangetop and double oven after much research. The refrigerator is great! We love the space and the layout! The rangetop is wonderful - my first experience using gas, and I love it! Our ovens are a different story. After 6 months of use, one of our ovens stopped working properly. Since we live where there are no warranty repair available, DCS sent their regional person. He fixed the oven, but a week later, it quit working again. We are still waiting to hear back from him. Very disappointed in the oven. Hoping to resolve this as quickly as before.

In 2006, I decided to upgrade a perfectly operating set of Maytag washer and dryer that I purchased in 1992. That included a set of Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. These units have been a problem from the beginning. I have the top load dryer. It got to the point to where the dealer could no longer help me. They even gave me a replacement after 2 years of ongoing problems. Now, the replacement is malfunctioning. I hate to say it, but these units are junk. I bought them because of reputation. But I will never ever recommend anyone buying them.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel custom designed refrigerator 3 years ago. We were leery of buying a $4,000 refrigerator for the same reasons people are advised not to buy a Jaguar - frequent problems, expensive parts and service. Well, we bought it because it could be built to fit in the design of our new kitchen. Two days ago, we noticed a pool of water had begun to make its way across the floor. We called and were told the next available service appointment was February 8th, 19 days away.Problem is, we sold our house and are leaving in 4 days, moving out of state. Fisher gave us the name of a subcontractor repairman. We waited two days for an appointment with him. He just left and said the refrigerator was installed incorrectly to begin with and now needs a part that should have been used in the first place. That part will not be available for 5 days, the day after we move out of state. Long story made short is, in 64 years, I have never had a refrigerator break down and leak. Never. And certainly not a $4,000 one. Never again.

After 8 months, my 24 range stopped working. Two weeks after my initial service call, the service people said they had the parts and scheduled a repair for Tuesday, April 17. I took the morning off, but they did not arrive in time to do the job. So I had to reschedule my service call for today. They said they would be here by 1pm. Then they called back to say they had made a mistake and that in fact, they did not have the part, because it was on back order. So my lost morning off work on Tuesday was for nothing. I am still without the use of my oven. I would like a replacement oven. I paid top dollar for a fancy oven, and not only did it break so soon, it cannot even be repaired in a timely manner. I called Fisher Paykel and stayed on hold for 5 minutes before speaking to someone. I told them what had happened, and they just said to wait for the part to come in and reschedule my appointment and that there was nothing they could do, unless my stove could not be repaired. Meanwhile, 2 lost days at work and no oven for over 2 weeks! I was told I could call back in a few hours and talk to the management team, which I plan to do.

After sale service is completely bad. if you want to buy this brand bear in mind the technician are very lazy and are not concerned about consumers, and take longer time and expect more time than usual. The customer service is very bad as well. I called them several times to book on a service. I was obliged to wait at least half hour with no clear response. As a result if you are looking a brand with such feature getting away from them.

I’ve had a Fisher & Paykel set since 1999. I don’t know about now but the dryer I have is actually made by GE (General Electric). As at that time they didn’t make dryers. I have never had a problem with the dryer. When I bought the set from an appliance dealer, they told me it was easy and inexpensive to work on the washer, and the dryer was a GE. I had to replace the control panel on the washer, around 10 years in as I think lightning hit it. It was plug and play. I put it on and the part was $80. I let one of those color Catcher sheets get into my pump, as I tried to save and cut one in half for a small load, that caused a problem. Had to get it removed by a repairman. I would never buy an appliance from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Actually only an appliance store that has service department. You may save a little, but you lose it quickly down the road. It seems odd that 7 people on here have complaints. Fisher & Payless is actually made in New Zealand. I haven’t needed to call in 10 years, but the last time I spoke to someone in New Zealand. I wanted a Maytag when I bought this set, but they are no longer in business. They were bought out by Whirlpool. Too many problems with their products. I try to buy top of the line.... My builder put GE Profile appliances in my house, and they have been fine since 1999. However I do take care of my things, and they take care of me. Something I was taught by my parents 50+ years ago....

I have a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer that’s a little over 3 years old. The washing machine agitator broke, and it wouldnt drain water. Now it is fixed, but it doesnt even really clean the clothes and doesnt spin the water out like advertised. The dryer is junk. We have had a certified Fisher Paykel repair man try to fix it twice. It took a while for the part to come in, and then it didnt fix the problem. I just recently replaced the bearing assembly, and it still sounds like the dryer is going to literally take off through the ceiling. I have contacted customer service, only to have the wrong part sent to me. When I called to let them know they sent the wrong part, I was told that the part I needed would cost me an additional $50 dollars. I cant express how upset I am that I paid the money for this set when the washer and dryer were under warranty; it probably should have just been replaced. The customer service always had some crazy solution or excuse! I will never recommend this brand to anyone. I would rather hand wash and dry my clothes than to have to listen to the loud, ridiculous noises that come from the washer and dryer. I dont understand how a company can sell something and not even bother to warranty or care about their product or their customers! Company failure!

Fisher-Paykel WL4227J1 - We purchased this machine, new, on 9/24/14. The machine worked well for 2 weeks & then developed a loud hum in the pump during the drain cycle. Once I was able to get a technician here a week later, it was confirmed that the pump was defective & needed to be replaced under warranty. Now for the part that angers me... The repair shop called back & stated that it would be another week to get the part, as F/P ships from AZ & that it would take 5 business days to arrive... Seriously? So I called F/P direct & was told that it would be 3-5 business days as the part ships from Huntington Beach, CA. Or, I could contact the retailer I purchased the machine from & ask them to exchange it... but that they were under no obligation to do so. Hello... customer service. Fisher & Paykel should be OVERNIGHTING a new pump to my retailer... not the 3-5 business days they stated as it is a brand new machine. How do they expect me to clean my clothes for the past 5 days plus the next week? Down with Fisher & Paykel!

I just purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. This is my second pair. My previous set I placed in a rental and decided to get a new set for myself. I had few problems with my older units. I understand my older dryer was actually made by an American company with a Fisher & Paykel nameplate. The new Fisher & Paykel set is a big step backwards for this manufacturer. The new washing machine is noisy and clanks when washing. I don’t know the cause but am assuming it is due to the tub not having a center post in the middle. The control panel has changed too. I would much prefer to be able to just push warm soak or hot wash or cold rinse, rather than pick thru the heavy, bulk, sheet buttons to try and get the wash settings I want. Now, the new dryer is something else altogether! I have a service man coming out to check on the top of the new dryer. This will be his second time out. The top seems to get in the way of the rotating drum and goes boom, boom, and boom every time the dryer drum turns during drying. The tops are flimsy plastic. I have a feeling it warps after being heated when the dryer is on high or low heat or the tops are not properly designed. A top loading dryer was an interesting idea but just wasnt pulled off well. Just buy a front loading dryer. I also have bubbles behind control panel masking. I would suggest interested buyers go to Consumer Reports Magazine and read further evaluations of washer and dryers.

We went to an appliance store down in Houston and we had tested several washers. Fisher Paykel is what we first bought. We found out the ease of the repair and the warranty so we bought a washer. And then my dishwasher went out and I needed a new one so we went to the same place. Since we had such good luck with the washing machine, we went with the dishwasher also. I love the new models - love the efficiency. I love that they dont use a whole lot of water or energy and the results of the clean are as good, if not better, than a model that uses all the water and all the electricity. It doesnt cost me a million dollar to have them repaired. My experience has been fantastic. Ive had one problem with my washing machine and it was very easy to take a part and we found a YouTube video and took it apart and replaced the part ourselves. So instead of having someone come out and we have to pay them $120 just to look at it, for $60 for the part and everything, it was done and over within 15 minutes.

The oven malfunctioned 2 months after purchase. We cook almost every day but use the oven less during the summer and had been out of town much of July so it was only used a few times before the malfunction. After 2 months, multiple service visits and calls to Fisher & Paykel, the unit was replaced under warranty. My impression is that it took considerable effort by myself, the warranty service provider, and the store I purchased the unit from to make any progress. (I never did hear from the rep who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hour following calls to Fisher & Paykel). The two malfunctions came on days we were hosting dinner guests (naturally) and we are worried about it working for a family gathering at Thanksgiving.

My F & P dual drawer dishwasher never seems to clean well. The area under the filter/screen is always full of water and F & P says thats normal. We bought a F&P washer and dryer a couple of years ago and have had trouble since day one! We have spent several hundred dollars in repairs with much frustration! The washer went first. Of course, it was my fault because a dime was left in pants pocket by accident and sent the whole machine into a tailspin! With conventional machines, that wouldnt have been an issue! Then, the fins on the rotator broke off and was cutting into my clothes as I washed them! Then, bearings went out on my dryer and ruined 2 loads of clothes with black grease before I realized what it was! Now, 2 weeks ago, element and thermostat had to be repaired after a week of laundry piled up! I still have the bill for over $200. I havent even had a chance to pay yet and now the lint bucket is stuck! Seems like it should be an easy thing to fix but with all of the smarts of the machine, its probably something to do with electronics not releasing it. I am so disappointed in these products. Something big would have to happen to make me ever buy another F&P product! I had a good ole Maytag washer and dryer before and used it for many, many years with no issues. My husband wanted me to upgrade, now I wish I hadnt given my Maytags away as they are still working great for my son who had just bought his first home!

I like the fact that my F&P washer has less parts as a whole, save water due to its sensor technology and efficiency. The product might have less parts to be broken down, but the broken parts are always the same ones, do not show this is a product of good quality! During a full kitchen renovation we needed a fridge of unusual dimensions. Fisher & Paykel had one that would fit and so we decided for aesthetics we would purchase the same brand for the induction range. It’s an expensive decision that we came to regret. Within a few months, we realized the oven wasn’t achieving the temperature it was set at and constantly ran up to 30F below the temp showing on the display. After the second call, maybe the third, we were told that we’d have to learn to mentally calculate what temperature to set the oven to depending on what we were cooking. $5000 for an oven that was less predictable than a much less expensive unit. The induction cooktop was really good, efficient, no problems but after the fourth service call, several parts replaced and eventually 6 weeks without an oven or cooktop because the temperature control failed spectacularly and the entire range had to be disconnected over Christmas while the parts were on back order, it was eventually repaired successfully, but it required an entire new motherboard and sensor, and two years of aggravation. For this reason, I will never again buy anything from Fisher & Paykel.

A few short years ago I bought a new F&P fridge. About 12 months outside warranty it stopped working. The technician told me the failure was so serious it would be cheaper for me to buy a new fridge. Which I did. Foolishly I bought another F&P (I was still laboring under the delusion it was a good brand.) That fridge stopped working three months outside the warranty period. The technician (from F&P) tried to fix it once and failed. Tried a second time and failed. By this time I had been without a fridge for days. He then tells me he will have to send way for parts and that might take a few days. In the same breath he tells me hes not quite sure whats wrong with the fridge. Could be the compressor as well. I told him to forget the whole thing. I bought a new fridge. You can bet it was not a Fisher and Paykel. (Both fridges only ever had light use by the way.) Caveat emptor..

We have been the proud owner of a two-drawer for approximately 9 years. We liked the design so much we bought the dishwasher in another state and transported it to Florida of installation. We have turned a deaf ear on the fact that it is noisy due to the fact that we liked the convenience of it so much. Well, things have started to go wrong with the unit which include losing the backlighting on one of the displays, total breakdown of the plastic trim plates and failure of the drawers to drain. At times, the bottom drawer has in excess of one inch of water after completion of the cycle. The other day, I called the customer service number and spoke to a lovely young lady who attempted to address my concerns, took down all of my identifying information and advised me that she would attempt to obtain some sort of assistance for me toward the purchase of a new dishwasher. My wife and I agreed that based on the age of the unit, it is probably not worth the expense of having a repair person visit, diagnose the problem and obtain all the parts that would be needed to get it running and make it look good again. To my dismay, I called back today, provided all of my identifying information and learned that my call was not on file and therefore, nothing had been done on my issue. What a shame because even though these units do not get great reviews in the United States, my wife and I were willing to take another chance on a new one instead of buying a conventional one. We had had a pretty good experience with our unit and are just hoping we can get some assistance, as these dishwashers are very expensive. I would think that a company with the good reputation of Fisher and Paykel would want to ensure that their customers are satisfied for the life of the appliance. I am getting the feeling that they are really not interested in helping me at all!

Fisher Paykel 30single wall oven - Purchased new appliances except for a ref about 7 years ago for a Kitchen remodel and used all Fisher and Paykel Appliances. Started having trouble last year w/ our single wall oven. The service technician diagnosed it as the Power Module, a cost of $215.99, only to find out that it was a convection element; so that was an additional $55.00 plus labor. Not to mention it took 6 weeks to get each part so a total of 12 weeks we were without an oven. This year we recently had issues and it was diagnosed incorrectly once again. Finally, we were told it was the Throat Element and could not be replaced. So after 6 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive we had to eat the part we ordered and the cost of 2 service calls only to find out we would have to purchase a new oven. Called Fisher Paykel and we promptly faxed the info they requested but it took a solid week trying to get **, our assigned go to person, to talk to us. They offered to sell us a new model at a 30% discount but did not offer to reimburse us for the money we had been out on parts and labor. Was very disappointed in the appliance, the time it takes to get parts sent from New Zealand, and the staff at Fisher Paykel. Will never spend another penny with them!!

About 4 years ago, we purchased a Fisher and Paykel Intuitive Eco washer. In the beginning we were very happy with our new product. Just shy of our warranty running out we experienced our first problem. It was pertaining to the pump/drain hose. Now, in the last month we have had to replace the pump and circuit board. It started with the beeps and a fault code. After turning the washer off and back on as instructed by the manual it began working again. A few loads of laundry later and now we smell a hot burning smell then the code alerts and now the washer stops working. We start with replacing the pump. Then the circuit panel goes out. Our repair man says the circuit board went out because of the motor so now they have an inline fuse to prevent this, its an upgrade. Okay, so we replace both parts. Great problem solved. Wrong.

After a great deal of research, I learned this refrigerator has the least depth of any other on the market that includes a water dispenser. This is due in part to the fact the ice maker is not contained on the door; the icemaker is contained in the bottom freezer. Yes, you have to scoop out the ice manually, but the depth space savings is worth the trade, and the chilled water dispensed doesn't require ice. Although I initially thought it pricy for a refrigerator, it was my only option for the space in my kitchen. I ordered it on a Sunday evening and it was in my kitchen Wednesday afternoon. I love this stylish and sleek refrigerator!!! While 17 cubic feet may seem small, it is an ideal size for most families. In most cases, the items stored in the back of a refrigerator are forgotten or the space isn't really used anyway. There is so much shelf space that I was able to get more in this refrigerator than my previous larger unit. I was surprised to find that the water filter is not contained within the unit. The filter holder mounts to the wall, or, in my case, an adjacent cabinet, and just the water line attaches to the unit. This perhaps goes with the philosophy of no wasted space in the unit. I opted for a three year extended warranty for just over $100, but I am optimistic I won't need it. I'll update this rating if I have problems with the unit, but so far I have absolutely no regrets.

To get my dishwasher repaired is a joke, as they say tech will be out between 12 and 5. Hello people work, well get a family member or a neighbors to come over. Hello who doesnt work these days. We agree the tech wouldnt be here before two and rocks up just before two, as I am driving home from work. Missed him by two minutes, but cant come back today, so we all have to live with the smell for another four days. So just remember if you are buying Fisher Paykel you can only get it service by Fisher Paykel. So if it breaks down be ready to have your life put on hold as the world only works around them. As they cant booked times only between half days and be ready for the half hour call before they come out, only if you request a call before they come, otherwise take a sick day as they will just rock up anytime to service it, and if not there too bad. So you can drop what you doing and run out of work at the drop of a hat, half hour before they come. All company really let you do that. So come on Fisher Paykel, get your ** together to help your customers out in a better way. We all have jobs to do, so get your tech to work on a better schedule so they can give us a time and not between five hours. I wouldnt be recommending your products to my friends or family for this reason.

Fisher & Paykel Activesmart 16.9-cu ft French Door Counter-Depth - Very happy with the refrigerator. Like the quality. A few items would have been helpful: i.e., only one ice cube tray, no egg storage container and a couple of trays for the shelves would improve storage. Based on a premium product would have expected all the above included.

At first it was totally quiet but now I notice the fans (or whatever) get louder now and then but don't know the pattern yet. Sometimes there's a little pneumatic sound when I open the door, but not always. But it fits my hard to fit space perfectly and so far things are very good (it was installed one week ago).

We have had a Fisher & Paykel dish drawer for a few years and have been pleased with the dish drawer after we learned some of the nuances of a dish drawer. Recently, we had to replace the rotor. I contacted the company to purchase the rotor and found it was less expensive buying it directly. The company was easy to work with and the item sent quickly. After replacing the rotor, we found there were more problems than we had initially thought. I contacted the authorized repair facility and they also were great to deal with. However, I would like to see other dealers in order to do some price comparisons because we had to pay extra fees on top of the repair bill due to the distance. They also charged quite a lot per hour. The repairman was extremely helpful on teaching me something so I could repair the drawer on my own if I ever had to.The repairman contacted F&P due to some previous poor repairs before we owned the home. F&P offered to pay for the parts, we just had to pay for labor. The repairman repaired the most difficult part that we initially called him about and I was able to order other parts and repair them myself later. The entire experience (although frustrating to be sans a dish drawer) was very easy and in all cases, the parts were cheaper dealing directly with F&P. I will also say it really was great to at least have one drawer to wash dishes while the other was out of commission. The only reason it is 4 stars instead of 5 was due to a shipping error which delayed my order. It would be nice to get an email confirmation regarding what parts are being shipped in order to catch such errors before time is wasted.

We live in Metropolitan Toronto; largest city in Canada, 3rd or fourth largest in N.A. and Fisher Paykel doesn’t service the area. Outsourcing options to random appliance service centres. I would have to say that the only thing worse than the product - both our freezer and our dishwasher intermittently do not work - is the customer service. I bought a Fisher and Paykel Eco-Smart wash machine May 2007. I paid $744.35 for the washer and I also bought an extended warranty. However, over the years I lost my receipt and of course no one could find where I paid for the extended warranty. I began having problems with the washer within a year. First several times, no problem. However the sixth year, this year in March, I was told that my washer was no longer under warranty and there was no extended contract on file. The reason I bought the extended contract was because the washer was already covered for 5 years and 2 extra years was very appealing given my previous experience with wash machines.I have been a home owner for 30 years and that was my 3rd wash machine. I have never paid that much money for a wash machine and had I known it was no better than any of the other (used) included, I would not have invested so much. I will never buy another Fisher and Paykel and never another major appliance from Lowes.

We purchased two Fisher & Paykel drawer-style dishwashers. They have both failed after just three years of use. When calling a recommended service place here in San Francisco, the answer I got was Never buy Fisher & Paykel products. They are of very poor quality from the company recommended by Fisher & Paykel! Unbelievable! The cost to fix our dishwasher would be over $1000! Now to the reason: F&P dishwashers are made completely out of plastic. If a sliver of glass gets in to the pump wheel, the wheel is ground down to where it no longer works properly. As all plastic parts are interconnected, in a way that even a layman engineer understands is completely idiotic, you are left with the only option of changing massive parts of the machine! Naturally, F&P are aware of this. This is the same practice that car manufacturers use frequently. If things break, they make money from parts.Further advice from the repairman: Buy a dishwasher from a European manufacturer, one with a stainless interior, not too fancy and not too cheap, around $700 MRSP. Do not buy a dishwasher with drawers as they are normally made by F&P, Kitchen Aid, DCS and many others are all made by the same company with idiotic engineering and cheap parts, thats what he said and I fully believe him. To make it such a hassle for customers, just to save a buck on a pump part is what will, hopefully, bring this company to change their engineering or go bust. Stay away. Do yourself a favor and buy a Bosch, or actually, buy pretty much any other brand!

Can I give 0 stars? I feel I was duped by the sleek look and promised amazing performance of this oven (Double Wall Oven WODV30). It is gorgeous, and I fell victim to the wonderfully smooth roll out racks, 12 settings for each oven (top and bottom), and supposed long, worry-free life. I had this oven installed in my newly renovated kitchen in October 2014. It worked super for three months. I am a light-use household consumer, just a regular mom trying to feed my family of 5; nothing fancy, nothing commercial. It then blew out a circuit board in January 2015. The oven went completely haywire. Okay, maybe a lemon you say? Do you know what then happened with DCS wonderful customer service for my $5000.00 oven? It took them 3 weeks to send out a replacement part. A new circuit board, which BLEW as soon as the tech (who has much experience w/ DCS and FP) installed it. Then do you know what happened? It took 3 more weeks for me to fight with my appliance company and DCS to get them to acknowledge they did not know what was wrong with my oven, why it originally blew its original circuit board, and why the new circuit board blew immediately. Yes, smoke was coming off the board, and the tech was flabbergasted. So, yes, dear reader, I was without an oven for SIX WEEKS from January until March. No baking, no roasting, no family dinners, no desserts, NOTHING. It took 3 weeks for my entire kitchen renov in the first place, then 3 months later, SIX WEEKS, no oven. Tsk, tsk DCS!! For a $5000 oven! And to top it off, after my fight to get them to send a new, replacement oven, guess what? The top door has damage to the metal frame around the glass door; there is permanent marring of the metal and something between the glass. Luckily, this is covered under their 90 day cosmetic warranty. I hope that everyone reading this thinks twice about this product. On another note, my 5 burner cook top from DCS is awesome, but how can you get gas burners wrong, really. STAY AWAY.

We purchased a top load washer/dryer set in July 2009. By November 2010, the heating element in the dryer broker and the lint trap was clogged, meaning the dryer was not producing any heat to dry clothes. We had it serviced at that time, replacing the heating element and removing the lint trap to clean it, and now in January 2012, the link trap is clogged again. Also, almost immediately after purchase, the washing machine started leaking whenever a load was more than half full. Additionally, the washer began to (and still) stop wash cycles regularly because the load is not balanced. Sometimes, a wash cycle will stop up to 10 times before it finally runs through, taking almost a full day to wash one load of sheets/blankets. Also, in January 2012, we noticed that the top part of the plastic basket in the washer has begun to shred and tear. We are now weighing the choice of having a repair man out to fix it or not sink any more money into a machine were so unhappy with.We have been extremely disappointed with this set. We purchased this make and model when we built our new home because we wanted a modern, efficient washer/dryer. What we got was almost three years of headaches, service calls, and wasted water and electric.

About a month ago I purchased a double wall oven made by Fisher & Paykel. I was a little worried by the reviews I read, but I know that more people who are unhappy with their purchases tend to write reviews because they want to air their grievance. I love my FP ovens. They work perfectly. They have about 10 different settings depending on the type of food you are cooking. The ovens work perfectly. They hold the correct temperature and everything I have made in them has come out perfectly. I love that the shelves move in and out at the gentlest touch. No struggle to get heavy pans in and out of this oven. The only thing I havent tried is the cleaning cycle. That was the problem with my Thermador ovens. The high heat of the cleaning cycle burned out the circuit boards---three times. No more Thermador for me. So far I am a happy baker.

I was renovating my apartment and so I was replacing everything. When I went in to the distributor to buy a refrigerator, the distributor showed me Fisher Paykel and I liked it. It seemed to have the features I wanted. It had the proper dimensions that I needed to fit in the kitchen and it was stainless steel. It seemed to be fine. The only objection I would have to it is they have a very strange design in so far as their water filter is concerned. I never would have bought the thing had I not been doing a major renovation because they mount the water filter outside the refrigerator. While all the other manufacturers, you just screw the filter in inside the refrigerator and youre done with it. But you need a plumber to put the thing together. And the plumber basically who put it in initially was not familiar with it, so he installed it incorrectly. I had to have him take it out and redo the installation. But its worked.I havent had it very long. Its fine for me right now. The longevity of the thing is going to be important because in the past few years, I have not had luck with refrigerators and they dont seem to last. So well see if this one lasts. I did, which I never had done before, take a long term contract out of the thing. Overall, I would give my friend the caveat that you may have an issue with needing a plumber to install the thing rather than just having the distributor come and install it because of that filter. In fact, the crazy thing is I have the refrigerator obviously in my kitchen, but the water filter is in my bathroom because you have to mount the filter very close to the source of water.

I went to the appliance store called Melzen’s Appliance at Glastonbury and they informed me about Fisher & Paykel. Never heard of it before. It was one of the most expensive refrigerators I’ve ever bought in my life - it was $1600. I’m married for 35 years and I’ve had refrigerators before this. I was shocked at the price but had to buy it because of the size (it had to fit into a specific area). I also wanted a stainless and a refrigerator on top. It had so many of the things I wanted. It was delivered November of 2012.I love the F&P refrigerator except I do have an issue with it that I did go back to the appliance store to tell them that when I opened up the door, something came flying out of the refrigerator. I told them, “Look at this piece, what do I do.” The guy looked at it and said, “Oh that just goes underneath the door of the refrigerator, just glue it.” I said, “Glue it? You know this refrigerator is only 6 months old - really?” He goes, “Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with your refrigerator right?” I said, “Correct” “So well, just glue it. It’s fine. Because if I send out a repair man, that’s what they’re going to do and they’re gonna charge you.” So I still have the piece here and it doesn’t impede or impact what’s going on with the refrigerator. I haven’t glued it yet because I’m having a hard time thinking that I have to glue this on my new refrigerator.I like the performance. I’m satisfied, though I’m not happy that a piece flew out on me.

I’m pissed off because the dryer was about four years old and I had to have it worked on about three times and ended up throwing it away. On the top load, the plastic parts just broke and the door wouldn’t come up and jammed. It got brittle and broke out. I spent about $900 for this dryer. Right at four years and it just fell apart. The bearings went out about two times. And one of the switches went out. And the door got misaligned. The parts must have been breaking then and so it caught and bent the door. I loved that dryer but I had to get a front load. The top load was more convenient for me. I am not satisfied because of the parts. They need to change the parts. The hard plastic parts dry out and become brittle when it gets heated enough and the bearings they use on there should be linear bearings as they are much smoother rolling and quieter bearings. I could have gone and got another type of dryer than go back to Fisher & Paykel, but I went back to Fisher & Paykel because that’s what I believe in and I got the service out of it, but, if I have another disappointment, they won’t get anything else from me again

The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.

Weve had problems with both the washer and dryer. The washer leaked from the bottom and we had it repaired. The repairman explained that the cause was from not using the rinse cycle when washing whites and that they do not use bleach overseas. Now, our dryer is 3 1/2 years old and it’s in need of a repair. It sounds as though the bearing is going out of it. These were expensive appliances and one should be able to expect at least 10 years.

3 pumps in 5 years - We purchased our Fisher & Paykel washer in 2008 at Beesons, Lafayette, IN. They also did the warranty work for us. They replaced the pump while under warranty. A few years ago, my husband replaced the pump himself. Now, my pump is out again; the part is $130. We have decided to not put any more money into this appliance. I plan to go shopping for a new washer and will not be buying a Fisher& Paykel appliance ever again. Im curious. Is this normal for a Fisher & Paykel?

Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer
Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer set from Lowes 3 1/2 years ago and have no complaints about the dryer. It is very efficient and dries quickly and thoroughly, but the washer is another story. I have had many garments to come out mangled. The detergent never seems to rinse completely, and over the last 6 months, the washer has only been spinning intermittently. Now, it is not draining or spinning and I am waiting days for a service call. After reading these reviews, I dont feel very hopeful for a quick or permanent resolution. The salesperson at Lowes touted the brand highly. When the repairman comes Monday, if he gives an expensive quote, I will be calling the scrap metal man to pick it up and will go buy another brand. Very disappointed as I paid over $500 for this machine. Never again. And I will tell all my friends.

After purchasing a competitors washer and dryer with problems (two washers leaked and we found out that the manufacturer had a repair kit in place) I chose to switch to your appliances. They were less costly than the original purchase and to date Im in love with their performance. I have recommended them to others who were in need of new ones and suggested that they stay away from the other brand.
