Lowes told us these appliances were top of the line. We have had nothing but problems with the washer and dryer. They might cost like they are top of the line, but they are the worst brand appliances I ever bought.Thank God for my extended warranty. The washer has been serviced two times in four years and the dryer once. Do not buy these appliances, you will regret it. My daughter-in-laws mother has the same washer and the same problems! What a piece of **.

I bought what I thought was a new model, an Aqua Smart WL-37, from the Warehouse Discount Center (WDC) on 5-16-11. I also bought an extended four-year warranty. The WL-37 failed less than three months later (8-10-11). It made a loud noise, and it went dead. No power. I called WDC for help, and they gave us a list of contractors. It turned out none of them travel to our town in Fillmore. This is even though when you first call the contractor, they say,” sure we will go to Fillmore”. However, once they try and locate us on a map, they thought it was “Sylmar”, not Fillmore.Anyway, we finally called P&K customer service. They also gave me a list of contractor folks who would go to Fillmore. I guess the good customer service representatives at Fisher and Paykel’s dont have good English skills, as they also gave us a list of contractors who go to Sylmar, not Fillmore. Finally, I got one who actually came to the house after a ten day delay. When the technician came inside, he asked me for the original sales receipt. The folks at Fisher & Paykel had no proof of sale, and because the WL37 is not the current model. I had a broken ankle and could not go upstairs to pull the receipt, even though I showed the technician the four-year extended warranty with a sale date of June, 2011, it was not good enough. So back to finding contractors who would go to Sylmar… err… Fillmore. Finally, I found one. Again, after another week lag they showed up on August 29. By this time, I was smart, and registered my unit on the Fisher & Paykel website, so the unit was verified under warranty. The technician came in and looked at the washer. He said it needed a new power board. He left his card, and said he would order it that day. Another eleven days have gone by, and I have heard nothing. This is despite leaving several messages to the technician and his store. I just finished contacting Fisher & Paykel customer service via its website customer care inquiry. Hopefully, they will contact me soon.

We purchased all new appliances in the spring of 2011 for a newly remodeled home. FISHER PAYKEL washer started to malfunction in the same fashion described by hundreds of people on this site and others like it. Long story short most recent service call tech concluded that several parts were required to repair washer. With the $100 service calls factored in the repair cost exceeds the $1000 cost of the unit.

Intuitive Eco washing machine. We have endured and continue to experience water on the floor despite two repair sessions by so-called certified and recommended companies. Now we have a Code 52; Repairmen plural cannot diagnose where leak is coming from. Repair service is slow in San Antonio and very poor at best. Washing machines are a need, this unit is headed for the junk yard! We bought a new washing machine yesterday to replace this awful Fisher Paykel washing machine.

On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. So Fisher Paykel has gone beyond the call of duty here, and we certainly appreciate their reaching out to consumers of their product. Thank you.

I was told in the store that the Fisher & Paykel refrigerator was a very quiet model, but its not. Its noisy and I did have to call them because since I got it, I cant sleep at night. Its cycling continually and extremely loud, like a jet taking off. The technician came out and said that I didnt have much in my freezer and suggested putting in jugs of water. But since then, I do have a roommate who uses the freezer and its a bit quieter, but not as quiet as I thought it would be. I had been concerned that my old ref was not energy efficient and thats why I got rid of it and got this one and it seems to be functioning okay, but I dont know how much energy its saving me. I am disappointed with the noise and I check back at the store and they said well, the new appliances do cycle on and are sensitive to drops in temperature. So it could be I didnt get complete information and didnt research this completely as I needed to. Im happy that its got a modern design and I like the size. If it were a bit quieter, I would be happier.

Horrible, horrible machine. I purchased a washer in 2007. The diverter valve had to be replaced within one year. Next, the pump failed; water leaked everywhere and shorted out the computer. We waited several weeks for replacement part. That pump failed as well. Another new pump was replaced in March 2011, and now the machine is leaking again. The water is coming from the pump. We called F&P customer service, and after discussing our problems with F&P, we were shocked to learn that you cant use bleach in these machines. To me this seems like someone selling a lawn mower that cannot cut grass. I will never buy an F&P product again. Ive read F&Ps responses on this site, and their responses are wholly unsatisfactory. Sure machines will need maintenance and repair, but I think a machine is inherently defective when its cost of repairs exceeds the purchase price within a short period of time.

My four year old washing machine just died in the middle of a wash cycle. There was no indication on the digital display. I validated power to the unit then called customer service and asked for help but got nowhere. Basically, the control unit is divided into two component parts: display and motor control. Power goes to motor control, which controls the display. I located the specs sheet and tried to get out error codes, but no luck (now that’s a design flaw. How can the display board tell you it has a problem when it could be the problem?). So, it’s either the display ($160) or the motor control ($140). Both are easy units to replace. So I asked whether I could buy both units and return the one I dont use. Their answer was no. So what are my options? Have a repair guy come in at $100 who will then do what I can do for another $50 and then charge me for a marked-up part because hell tell me that’s their handling fee. End of the story is I have to make a decision to replace a 4-year-old product for another machine which would cost me about $550. The real kicker is I bought this machine and it replaced a 15-year-old machine that worked.Another thing, although the customer service had plenty of “Im sorry” they, like the repair shops who are dancing all the way to the back, are absolutely useless. My recommendation is do not buy from Fisher & Paykel, located in New Zealand. Buy from a local US company. At least you have the option of protesting outside their office.

I bought a brand new FP washer and dryer the end of 2006. I paid approximately $1,000.00 each for them, because the salesperson assured me what a wonderful company FP is and how wonderful their products are. Well, what a waste of my hard earned money. I have had the washer fixed 3 times and the pump just went out of it again. I am awaiting the repairman to return with the part to fix it. In the meantime, I am spending at least $40.00 a week at the laundromat. I have had the dryer fixed twice. The last time, it put little holes in my clothes so I lost a ton of money in ruined clothing. I am lucky that there is a repairman in our area who knows what hes doing. However, it is always at least 3 weeks until the repair is completed. First, he has to come out to see whats wrong; then order the part; then come back out to repair it. Now when you figure it out, I am spending at least $120.00 at the laundromat, plus I have the cost of the repairs. This time the repairs will be at least $200.00. During the Christmas season, both Lowes and Home Depot had a washer/dryer pair for around $400.00. Considering the amount of money I already have invested in FP washer/dryer, the extravagant purchase price, the amount of money I have invested for repairs to both units, the amount of money I have invested in the laundromat and the continuous inconvenience, I would be farther ahead to buy a cheap set and replace them every two years. Now I will say that FP reimbursed a portion of the first repair; however, when I advised them of the second repair, they basically said that appliances dont last forever.I cant say that forever is 3 or 4 years. Considering the price of FP, I would expect them to last at least 10 years. I am very disappointed in the FP brand and have to say that I will not consider purchasing that brand again. I have just spent the past hour reading the reviews on this website and it seems to me that FP just produces an inferior product. FP should take action to compensate people and not just tell them that they are sorry to hear of their problems or that their concerns have been forwarded to a senior representative.

Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer set from Lowes 3 1/2 years ago and have no complaints about the dryer. It is very efficient and dries quickly and thoroughly, but the washer is another story. I have had many garments to come out mangled. The detergent never seems to rinse completely, and over the last 6 months, the washer has only been spinning intermittently. Now, it is not draining or spinning and I am waiting days for a service call. After reading these reviews, I dont feel very hopeful for a quick or permanent resolution. The salesperson at Lowes touted the brand highly. When the repairman comes Monday, if he gives an expensive quote, I will be calling the scrap metal man to pick it up and will go buy another brand. Very disappointed as I paid over $500 for this machine. Never again. And I will tell all my friends.

I have been begging my husband to replace our 3-and-1/2-year-old washer and dryer. The top loading HE washer ties my clothes in knots, stretches them out and pretty much ruins them. It also needs the load rebalanced; sometimes up to 5 times in a wash cycle. The dryer keeps overheating, and I have to tip the dryer up to squeeze my hand under the bottom to hit the darn reset button all the time. Now, the dryer is squeaking and super annoying. My husband is now ready to buy another dryer and let me tell you, it wont be a Fisher Paykel. I just need to work on getting him to throw out the horrible washer.

Do not buy an FP washing machine. My pump leaked and shorted out the control board. Even their certified tech said FP knew about the problem but didnt do anything about it. It shouldve been recalled or offered free replacement. My washer is less about 4 1/2 years old. They said they would not stand behind it because I didnt have excessive problems with it previously. In 2006, I decided to upgrade a perfectly operating set of Maytag washer and dryer that I purchased in 1992. That included a set of Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. These units have been a problem from the beginning. I have the top load dryer. It got to the point to where the dealer could no longer help me. I purchased a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer in June 2006. One month before the warranty expired (in May 2008), the pump in the washer went out and was leaking water from underneath the washer onto the floor. That pump was replaced at no cost to us. However, in August 2009, the pump again went out and was leaking water all over the floor. That pump was not under warranty and we had to pay for it along with an $80 service call! Right on time, in November 2011, the pump went out again and was leaking water so another $80 service call and the pump was $190. I know others who are having similar problems with this washer and the pump and Im telling everyone I know, Do not buy this brand of appliance (not washers, not dryers, not dishwasher or refrigerators) because they dont last.We now have more money spent on repairs than the cost of the washer so were thinking well buy a good ol Kenmore next time!

I made my purchase based off of the reviews that I read about the product. This was my first purchase with them. We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer in May last year. After 6 months we realized that washer never used hot water. It was washing the clothes always in cold water. When contacting the company they referred us to a local repair company. The technician came in today and diagnosed that the problem was with electronic module and electronic water valves. It will take 4-12 weeks for the parts to arrive. Are they using the boat to ship the parts from China? Perhaps someone should whisper to Fisher & Paykel: Federal Express. I got a washer and dryer by Fisher & Paykel. I went to Fletcher’s Appliance here in Nashua and I have a good friend. He was a repairman there for the company. And one day, we were looking at different things and I asked him what he thought. He told me Fisher & Paykel is one of the best. He says they have no transmission and explained different things about the machine. He also said that a nursing home had one for 13 years and they just finally got it repaired. And I liked the features of it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the dryer door. The way it opens. I think it’s kind of old-fashioned. The newer ones fold down so that you can use the door if you need to set a pair of socks or something on it. I’m partially handicapped so I sit on a chair to do the laundry. I was hoping to go on and put my chair there. But other than that, the machines are fantastic. They run great. I’ve had no big problems so far with them in the short time I’ve had them. I’d say they’re wonderful. It’s funny the guy that delivered it couldn’t get the washer to work to pump the water out. And he left and my older son went down and one, two, three, he made it work. Otherwise, they would have sent out a repairman for the first day that it was delivered. And I said to myself, “This is crazy. I bought a brand new machine and now I need a repairman? This is just isn’t working out so good.” But it was just something that they messed up on.

I saw Fisher Paykel through Consumer Reports years ago. Im a repeat customer of that company. Its my third or fourth purchase with them - the latest being a washer and dryer. Their lifespan isnt as long as it used to be. Theyre not built like they were back 25 years ago when you could have one for 20 years. Not so much plastic should be used in manufacturing some of the push buttons and things that tend to break or wear out over time. The whole face is plastic and the face tends to crack on the buttons that you use consistently. There should be more flexibility in the fabric that theyre using for those push buttons. Theyre pretty simple machines. The noise level on the washer is pretty high. It sounds like you have an airplane in your house. Besides that and things breaking that are too expensive to repair, theyre fine. They wash the clothes and they get them clean. Thats all I can ask for.

I got the refrigerator from Fisher and Paykel because it was the only one that fit. They should keep making them because a lot of people dont want to gut their kitchen in order to buy a refrigerator. It is excellent and everything seems to last longer. Its a better refrigerator but it makes strange noises which it has made it since day one. You dont hear it running but I think its gearing up to run. So it must be normal noise. I even had to buy the floor model because the place where I got it didnt know how to order them and they didnt even know what price to charge me. The Fisher Paykel dual drawer dishwasher is an excellent new example of high quality and performance in a kitchen dish washing appliance. The dual drawer is engineered wonderfully to provide multiple ways to perform, and perform it does! The two drawers provide flexibility beyond a normal/standard design. The loading capabilities are different yet provided with a lot of forethought given to providing space. It utilizes much more of the actual inside space of the two drawer/washers. Once you understand the loading capabilities of the provided inside racks and adjustment capabilities, the loading capabilities are creative and useful. Three simple buttons on the outside of each drawer provide easy execution of functions. The dual washers are extremely easy to start, stop or pause at any time, using the three simple buttons. The system has various wash cycles and times all easily accessed and executed by another single button conveniently located inside either drawers top edge. A small LED lit screen on each drawer face provides a moving icon that lets the user know have knowledge of what stage of a cycle the wash drawer is executing. The LED also shows the cycle time duration working backwards from a start time to the finish of the cycle. The Fisher Paykel system is very quiet working washer. Yes, you can hear some functions executing some times during the cycle, but it is very quiet overall. Most importantly, the Fisher Paykel Dual Washing system cleans and shines dishes, glassware and utensils with precision to a sparkling bright clean. This is especially true if the user does not allow large amounts of food to enter the system. Pre-rinsing is any dishwashers best friend! Use this kitchen appliance/tool correctly, and you will have a great dish washing experience with this product. By far, the Fisher Paykel Dual Dish Washing system is the highest quality, best working, and easy to use dish washing appliance I have ever had in any of my kitchens. I highly recommend the Fisher Paykel Dual Drawer Dish Washing Appliance/System for any kitchen.

My Fisher & Paykel Washer failed to pump out water or complete a spin cycle. The technician from the store that we bought it from, determined that the pump was not operating and needed to be replaced. This company no longer carries Fisher& Paykel products mainly because it continues to change replacement parts, and have poor support in receiving parts. He did contact the Service Dept. for F&K and was able to find the part number needed for the pump. My wife had to contact them to order and pay for the part. After receiving the shippings tracking number and date of delivery, it became a waiting game. When the package did not arrive on the expected date, my wife contacted the customer service personnel and initially was informed that they could not find the order; then determined that the order did not ship because an additional part was required for the pump. As luck would have it, this part was not in California but was located somewhere in Kentucky.By and large, someone took it upon himself to cancel the order, but failed to inform us of the situation. My wife now had to get the correct information, order the part, trust the so-called experts to credit our charge account, and play the waiting game. Mind you, 2 weeks has lapsed since this process began. When the much awaited part arrived, we had to wait another 4 days for the service tech to install it. Today when I arrived home from work, I found my wife in tears and on the verge of a mental breakdown. The part was installed and when the tech ran a cycle through the machine with a load of clothes in it, it failed to pump the water out again. To make a long story short, when he talked to a tech at F&P, he was informed that a change made to their parts required that the motherboard also needs to be replaced at the time a new part was installed. Now we are talking an additional $190 for the part and $25 for shipping and handling. The total cost with parts already received was $357. NFW are we going to continue to pump money in to this money pit. To fix this problem, we have ordered a new washing machine but it is not an F&K product.Never again will we waste good money on any product by F&P. Not only will we no longer support the products of this company, we will seek out every opportunity to express our dissatisfaction and terrible experience to anyone that will listen. This is the worst buying and service after the sale experience that we have ever encountered. I can only hope that F&Ps competition will eventually drive them out of business.

We have a GWL12 top-loading washer. I will start off by saying my wife and I love the washer and dryer we have, but we are not loving it so much these days. We have had the controller board go out for the third time and its getting very costly. I will say Fisher Paykel did step up to the plate on the first one, but the second was on me, and now I have yet another dead washer. I have been all up and down these forums and had seen nothing but bad reviews when it comes to these controller boards. These boards are $150 a pop. This last one only lasted 2 years. I had to go buy an older, used washer just to keep the washing going. But I still have hopes of fixing this washer one last time. Dont get me wrong, its a really good washer when its running. I have seen bad reviews on the GWL11 and GWL12 for this problem. I hope things are improving over there. These are too expensive of washers to break down like this. Sorry for the rant.

Like the 100s of complaints I have just read about F&P clothes dryers mine is no different. Actually, compared to others Im feeling lucky that mine has lasted 6 years before a drum bearing has failed. My issue is two fold:1) After contacting customer service they were totally satisfied with six years and considered it a good run. I, however, am not satisfied with six years since my Maytag lasted 28 years and the only reason I gave it up was for styling reasons. I gave the dryer to a young married couple to use. It might still be running for all I know. F&P were more than happy to sell me, at full retail price, a bearing kit.2) After seeing the 100s of complaints and reading the companies stock response (which is not helpful at all), I am left wondering what the results were and how did the company satisfy the complaint.I have ordered the part from the company ($73.30 plus shipping) and hopefully this will solve my squeaking issue. I wished I had seen this complaint board before I purchased an F&P product. It really makes we wonder how F&P can stay in business.

March, same problem as last one, cycle jammed again, out for 1 week for it to be repaired by cutting away moulding??? April, same problem, insisted the dishwasher be replaced. New dishwasher in 5-5-2015. June, guess what E9-04 fault, dishwasher out again. This unit has been out of order longer than it has been OK. I had a Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwasher, and when we upgraded our kitchen the theme was steel. We just went with the same brand because we really liked it. I liked the style and the refrigerator seemed to have the most room inside it for a counter-depth refrigerator. I had a counter-depth fridge before and you couldnt get anything in it. It was ridiculous. This one just seems to have a lot more room because the water and stuff are not bulky in the door unlike other refrigerators. The Fisher appliances are nice, with clean lines. We dont need all the bells and whistles. I just want things with space that are clean and seem to work really well. I love the gas range. It seems to have lots of space inside the oven. I enjoy the appliances. Im pleasantly surprised with them.

My F&P washing machine kept getting stuck and not draining. I had a repair come out and $380 fixed it. Six months later, same thing with machine not draining. I took to the internet and found out that the drain pump was likely plugged. I was able to fix it myself, which wasnt easy, turning machine on its side, pulling out the coin that was clogging the pump, etc. This happened four more times, me fixing it each time. Then the last time, there was nothing clogging it. Repairman said $400 to fix. I said, Forget you, and tossed the machine. Now I have an LG which I love. My F&P dryer is now squeaking and making a horrible noise. Its less than five years old. I refuse to put any more money into these pieces of junk, so unless me replacing the bearing myself works, it will also be joining the washer in appliance heaven (oops, maybe hell). FYI, customer service is also horrible and offers you no help once your warranty is up. Big surprise there.

We have them in the showroom at the last place I worked, and I inherited that when I bought the display, when we downsized after the crash, and I just replaced it. I put it in my sister and brother-in-laws house, and they love it. Its a great appliance for Californians and retired people who are you know downsizing their homes, as their kids go off to school. Its also great for young couples with kids because they can do one load. The dishwasher is great because of the two drawers. Besides, its a New Zealand product.

Only problem we have is the installer didnt balance or lock the wheels Properly So if you have the top drawer open while loading dishes dont turn your back. Back in January I had to give up that set and bought a brand new set of Fisher & Paykel. I am totally dissatisfied with the two new units. The Fisher Paykel refrigerator model E522B is made with junk plastic parts
The Fisher Paykel refrigerator model E522B is made with junk plastic parts that continue to break, and we are not rough on our appliances, as we are senior citizens, and previously owned a Frigidaire refrigerator, that lasted us over 25 years without one repair. However, in one year this Fisher Paykel refrigerator has had the following parts replaced: the rear caster wheels (broken on delivery), the plastic cover on the freezer door (broken when replacing the stripped freezer door handle), the plastic door closer under the door hinge has broken twice now, and a foam insulation kit was installed to help reduce the popping noises from the compressor. F&P customer service takes its good old time in responding to online inquiries about their products, and makes you jump through hoops, before they respond. They dont believe you, even after you register the product online with them, and inform them of how many times the unit was serviced as they still ask for proof (now want photos and receipts), when something breaks. Dont they have a computer system that logs the reimbursements they have made to service repair companies on their products? This will be our last purchase of New Zealand made junk as they seem to have no pride with craftsmanship!

I had a side-by-side fridge removed and I only have so much space in my kitchen and nothing else would fit except Fisher Paykel (although later I found out that Whirlpool also has one this size). I really like the bottom of the unit as it is and couldn’t care less about the bottle chiller or the quick freeze or whatever that is and the water dispenser is also okay. However, how could they make a fridge without any place to put lunchmeat? There’s no deli drawer! Our two drawers, they’re not for lunchmeat; they’re for putting lettuce or whatever. There are two containers on the doors on the top that I’m using one for cheese and one for butter but nothing specific for lunchmeat or cheese. Also, my daughter said she doesn’t like that the doors don’t ever shut, which is true. I must close it, slam it every time. It’s really getting to be a pain. I do think that there is some way to raise the front of the fridge because every time I open the door, it tweets or whatever. It makes a chime that the door is not closed. Aside from that, I don’t know how I’m going to handle that distilling thing in the back (but apparently, that’s only like once or twice a year) and I don’t like that the ice cubes freeze together at times. And they do… I just have to throw them all out. One other thing I don’t like is that fingerprints show so much - they weren’t supposed to.But even though this fridge is from New Zealand and when I have questions I don’t understand them and they don’t understand me (lol), we’re satisfied with it and I think it’s a good instrument. I think perhaps I’m not technologically savvy. If I were more into that, maybe I’d find more efficient use of it than I am.

2 yr old Fisher Paykel Dryer - We purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer many years ago that worked great and never needed repair. When we downsized we sold it with our home. We purchased a new FP washer and dryer when we moved to our Condo. Our new dryer stopped working on December 28, 2017. Electronic Motherboard burned out. Was only several months out of warranty. I was told when I called FP Customer Care that because it was only a few months out of Warranty they might refund the service charge (I think this kind of thing must happen often and they want to keep their customers happy). I went to FP Website which works well to locate qualified local service companies. They scheduled me within a week. Aside from being annoyed at the inconvenience of not having the use of my dryer over holidays, things went well in the beginning.Local Service Tech came out on January 2, 2018 with the correct part and repaired quickly. Because it was no longer under warranty I paid $258 for the part and service. I contacted the US Customer Service number that is in New Zealand, not in the US. I emailed them the Original Purchase and Repair receipts. I was finally sent an email with a CASE AUTHORITY NO. ** on January 26. I was told that the service company would refund my money. Turns out that was incorrect information. After another 12 phone calls (it turn out some were made to me from Customer Support using a local New Zealand phone number and, because I redialed in error, I now owe $84 to AT&T for 20 minutes in International charges) I was assured more than once since receiving the CASE AUTHORITY NO. ** on January 26 that a check would be sent within 7-10 business days. No one in Customer Support seems to know how this check will be issued or how it will be sent. Several times one of those I talked to put me on hold to consult with a supervisor. There were many excuses. I was told that the check couldnt be issued through their new system or it was being updated or the order for refund had been sent to the wrong department. It is now March 14, 2018. I will be calling again today. I should be billing them for MY time spent and the International phone calls made in error. (In all my years as a homeowner or in business I have never made International phone calls when calling Customer Service. Sometimes to India or Philippines etc. Who would have thought Customer Service would use a local phone number.) I have reached the end of my patience here. To be continued.

Wow. I wish I had read these reviews before buying my FP washer. I thought I had a great item. Same story. At least, I got nearly four years out of it, exceptional compared to other stories! Whining noise, just drains water, no wash cycle, Ive thought of calling a repairman but based on these reviews, I am going to trash this mess and get a Maytag. The American consumer is fed up with paying top dollar for poor products. This company will be hanging its head when they go out of business due to poor sales. Do not buy FP! Shame on you corporate greed FP! Your sales up this month? See what they are in five years. You have to get 10 happy customers to offset the decrease in sales due to one dissatisfied customer (Business 101). From the look of these reviews, one would say youre behind the eight ball.Who has money to throw away like this? Public school teacher who hasnt had a raise or COLA in four years in a non-union state (very low wages), widow, raising three kids alone, cost of living and gas prices increasing exponentially. And the clothes washer dies, in spite of the $800 or so I spent on it four years ago. How much did the CEO of Fisher-Paykel net last year? Corporate greed and environmental devastation, how long will it take my lousy washing machine to biodegrade in some landfill? Americans are fed up.

We were re-doing our kitchen and we wanted something with two drawers and they were the only ones who really did it for the dishwasher. I checked them out online and they were very highly rated. My wife says why we didn’t get all our appliances from them? We did our whole kitchen and she was... “I didn’t know about them beforehand.....” So this was an experiment that actually turned out to be positive and if they want to, they can change all my appliances, because I’m sorry I didn’t buy all of them :)Compared to other brands we had our F&P dishwasher is amazing. I went to Lowes and asked them if they could order it and they said yes. Our Sub-Zero had gone completely out. Weve had it for about 30 year. I was used to the old one but I love this one. I love the interior and everything except for one thing. There is no meat tray in it. And my husband would like it if a jug of milk could fit into the door. When it was delivered it had marks on the door and I got in touch with Fisher & Paykel about it. They told me theyre going to send someone to redo the doors or give us new doors. These were blemishes and theyre getting it taken cared of.

My Fisher & Paykel dual fuel (gas top/electric oven) is by far the worst appliance I have ever purchased. From day one after the installation, the oven wouldnt work properly because of, what I later learned, is a PLASTIC lock which came broken. Without this lock, the sensor believes that the oven door is open and the oven wont work correctly. According to the technician, this lock breaks frequently, and he mentions he doesnt understand why a piece so important is made of plastic. The technician comes back with the part to fix the issue, but when he puts the oven all back together, it seemed that the oven door was no longer centered in place. He said that it should not be a problem, after all, the oven was now working. Although I thought it was a very poor customer service response for an appliance so expensive, I decided to bite the bullet, as I had spent too long without an oven. Despite my compromise, a week after this repair the door completely sunk to one side. As a result, the oven was again non-operational. Another technician comes, this time to tell me that the door hinge had an issue. He didnt have the spare part, so I go another month without an oven.At the day scheduled for the technician to come to install the new hinge, he missed the appointment, allegedly because previous appointments that ran late. So now I have at least 3 more weeks with no oven until he can come again. After weeks, the technician is back. He installs the new hinge, and of course, the door is again not centered. The oven doesnt work properly, because, without a centered door, the locking mechanism doesnt work well. Interestingly enough, he insists that everything is fine, and tells me that the lock is only used for the oven self-clean function, which I should never use because everyone who uses it requests a repair right after due to oven parts that get burned and makes the oven malfunction.Interesting to know that the oven is even worse than I thought, and that the self-clean feature is unusable. But back to my case, even though the lock is not essential, it affects how the door open and closes, and the oven does not work well without everything centered and in place. His answer: I cant do anything about it. Now I call Fisher & Paykel to complain, and their solution? To send another technician. Im now nearly one year without an oven. I simply cant bake anything. So my advice to all of you considering to buy a Fisher & Paykel appliance, believe the bad reviews and stay away from it. I was one of those who thought no, it cant be that poorly made at such a high price tag. Well, it is, and its customer service is just as bad.

I have an F&P EcoSmart washer and dryer. Over the past 3 years of use, Ive had the heating element on the dryer replaced 3 times. Even though the element itself is always under warranty, F&P says I still have to pay over $100 to have a tech diagnose what I already know the problem to be, then wait 2 weeks for the part and again pay the tech to install it. I have slate floors in my laundry room and the appliance tech told me I need to wear shoes because the way the element is set, it could sag and easily hit the floor, causing electrical shock. How unsafe is that? But now after only 4 years of use, my washer has totally died. I noticed the pump was short-cycling when trying to drain the water. When water did drain for about 2 seconds, there was no blockage. Then the control panel completely died within an hour. Now I have no washer, my four grandchildren live with me and my brother, who I have not seen for nearly 10 years, is coming in from overseas with his wife and 3 children to stay for 2 weeks during the holidays. I live in a rural area and the nearest laundry mat is 30 miles away. I cant even afford to get the tech out until after the holidays, but even if I could it would still take 2 weeks to get the parts, if its even able to be repaired. So what am I supposed to do? I have recently purchased 3 Fisher Paykel appliances, Refrigerator (RF195AUUX1), 36 dual gas/electric stove and 2 drawer dishwasher totaling about $15K. The refrigerators ice maker broke after 13 months. I called and was told that the warranty was only 1 year so I had to foot the bill myself. Only 3 months later the ice maker broke again. I called Fisher Paykel and asked that they cover the bill this time explaining my large purchase and my sense of poor quality in the ice maker if it breaks this often. I was denied without hesitation. No ability to talk to the person making the decision on not to cover it. Any reasonable company that values customer service would recognize the fact that I made a large purchase of products and that there may very likely be an issue with the ice maker and cover the expense.

On August 10, 2012, I posted a review about my dissatisfaction with my dryer. At the time, I was awaiting my fifth service call to have the bearings replaced. By the way, my dryer is 5 1/2 years old. To give Fisher Paykel their due, the company agreed to pay more than half the cost of the repair since I had already spent over $200.00 on prior service calls and repairs. After waiting for the parts to arrive and arranging a time for the technician to return to do the work, my dryer was finally fixed last week. This past Sunday, I decided to do a few loads of laundry and lo and behold, my washer broke (also 5 1/2 years old). Its no fun trying to wring out sopping wet clothes and then finding a place to hang them. The technician left a few hours ago and my washer needs a new pump. I wonder how much thats going to cost. I spent too much money on poor quality products. Perhaps its time to go back to the old-fashioned scrub board and clothesline. When I spoke with Fisher and Paykels customer service representative about my dryer, she was very nice and sympathetic. But being told that bearings wear out like they do in a car was not a good analogy. My dryer certainly does not take the stress and use like my car does. If I had the energy, I would call the company again to verbally air my dissatisfaction with my washer, but another analogy like that would probably send me over the edge and the automated responses to the reviews are inane. Why doesnt the company contact me? They have my contact information. Fisher and Paykel strikes again!

We had to replace a fridge that was 11 years old and defective so we got a Fisher & Paykel. We certainly appreciate the ice-making system and the fact that it doesnt take up too much room from the refrigerator section, thats for the cold water. Compared to other makes, the other one seems to take up a lot of room, this one is just a small space in the door. And for the ice, its very reasonable. Thats the main thing. This is the first time that I have the French doors. You cannot pull the drawers, neither the fruit nor the meat drawers without opening both doors. So this is one thing that may not be the most efficient and this to me would be not totally negative.

My wife and I bought a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator (Active Smart RF170ADUSX4) in March from Lowes. We have had ice maker problems since we got the refrigerator. We had the ice maker replaced, then we had sensors replaced. To get parts for a F & P refrigerator it takes FOREVER! This is the worst appliance purchase that I have ever made, and dealing with Lowes lemon laws, etc. has been a nightmare. With everything replaced, the ice maker will make approximately 2 trays of ice every 24 hours. This is not enough for anybody. Additionally we have had problems with the temps in the fridge. I would never, ever, ever recommend anybody a) buy an appliance from Lowes and b) buy a Fisher & Paykel appliance. Total JUNK for $2069!!

We have a friend who had a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. Ours had broken and the man who sold the two drawer dishwasher to us encouraged us to buy it as well. However, we dont particularly like it. The design is awful. We can hardly put any dishes in there. We have to run our dishwasher several times more than we would have to run a traditional dishwasher. You can put eight glasses in, and only a certain number of dishes and it has to be the right shape and size. Its really a pain. We wouldnt have purchased it. If we knew what it was like to live with it, we wouldnt do it again. We have another dishwasher in another home that we own, and that dishwasher is a much lower-end brand and its just a much better performing dishwasher too. Even when the dishes come out, we frequently have to put them back in again or wash them again.

I purchased a 2 drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher approximately 1 1/2 years ago. My contractors correctly installed the dishwasher and from the beginning, there were large pools of water at the bottom of the top drawer. Five service calls later and a call to (I use the term hesitantly) FPs customer service department, my dishwasher was supposedly fixed. Each time the repairman came, he found something he thought was causing the issue. When I spoke to customer service, they told me my contractors did not install the dishwasher correctly. I had my contractors come back to ensure they installed it correctly (this was confirmed by the repairman). Customer service refused to do anything for me (this was after waiting on hold for 45 minutes). My dishwasher no longer has pools of water on the bottom; however, the dishes are NEVER clean and I basically have to wash dishes by hand before putting them in the dishwasher. I called the appliance store where I purchased the dishwashers a number of months ago to again complain about the dishwasher. The salesman said he would follow up with FP. I again followed up with the salesman a few weeks later and again, nothing was done. I would never purchase a FP product again. I am now looking for a new dishwasher. The experience has been horrible and very frustrating. I would never recommend anyone purchase this product.

I have had a Fisher and Paykel stove for 20 years and it has served me extremely well. It is only now I have to get a new one as with time and continuous use, parts are wearing out and it is more economical now to replace it. And I am quite happy to go the same way again. In any inquiries I have always found the company approachable and helpful and would have no problem in recommending their product to anyone I know.

Very disappointed in the top load dryer. My in-laws moved in with their dryer. This dryer has had service repairs two times in the first year they owned it. Now we are using it as well and the one-year warranty is up. They told us that the last time a service man came out, he showed them where the reset switch is. Apparently, every so often, the heat stops working, and the reset switch has to be reset. So it has been two months now, and I have had to reset the switch three times. This is just a ridiculously faulty product, and Im truly concerned; there is a fire hazard with some sort of electrical issue with this dryer. I am getting rid of it ASAP and going back to Maytag, which I might add, I had a Maytag washer for 10 years and a Maytag dryer for 15 years and never once had a repair to them. Now that is true quality.

The worst I ever had! If you need to deal with F&P at Botany, 78 Springs Road RUN!! To replace the faulty draws I have to take 4 days off work!! After waiting the whole day it for delivery, it was delivered 4:45 pm and left downstairs cause the delivery company, (which it seems to be separate to company that installs - very efficient) didnt know it needs to go to the 2nd floor (and no one asked - great communication NOT).Second time 2 guys got it upstairs and then I had to book a technician to install - No follow up service, and the guys that bring the dishwasher dont tell you anything about it. When I called to book the technician, I explicitly asked if the old dishwasher will be picked up on the same day and I was reassured it will, but guess what it wasnt! And now I need to take another day off for it to be picked up! In addition to this, the supervisor I talked to was rude and refused to put me to her manager, she just hang the phone me! So GOOD LUCK dealing with F&P.

I purchased an F&P dryer a few years ago and after replacing the heating elements 3 or 4 times while under warranty and trying to blame me, the vent, or my electricity, which they couldnt support after inspection, and after I ruined a couple hundred dollars worth of clothes when the heating element broke and remained on when the dryer had stopped (not to mention getting burned when I reached in expecting the dryer to be cold since it had gone through is cooling cycle), F &P replaced my dryer with a newer model. Well, the elements on this model have gone out of it multiple times. Yes, my vents are clean, yada yada yada. I did have to laugh that they changed their warranty to 1 year because of their cost in repairing the elements and other parts. They recommended I move my dryer to an exterior wall so that it had an extremely short exhaust run. They also told me they beefed up the elements to make them more durable. Unfortunately, the elements cost more than $80.00 each time they break, and because F&P hasnt been forced to fix the problem, we as consumers are expected to continue to pad their pocket with repair costs. I should add that twice, when a tech was in my house, he wouldnt put my dryer back together to use with one working element because he said it was a fire hazard. Fire hazard! Does somebody have to die before F&P actually addresses this issue? It has been brought to their attention.

I love the quietness of the Fisher & Payker washer. I had heard about them from my brother and I purchased a washer and dryer. We compared them to the LG and my brother has great reviews on how quiet it was and when it came down to it, the sales person said that it was just a little bit above the line than the LG. We thought wed give it a try because we like the idea of it being a quiet experience. This was the first one Ive had without the agitator so it is different and Im still getting used to what setting to use so that it does not wrinkle the clothes so much. We like it so far. I’m getting used to it taking a longer cycle. There is this minor thing. I wish the beeper was louder. Ive got it up to the maximum beep but it’s so quiet I can’t hear it in the other room. Id recommend to anybody to give it a try.

I like the Fisher & Paykel two drawer dishwasher. Unfortunately the top drawer computer board has never worked since the day it was installed - it wont shut off. We talked to them and originally they were going to send somebody but then they said it was out of warranty. We had bought it but didnt install it until a year after. It stayed in the crate as we were renovating the house. Were still in the process of getting something done. Id hate to buy a whole new computer board for something that didnt work since the day it was installed. The bottom drawer works fine so it has nothing to do with the installation or electricity. It has good design but not the best quality.

I have had my Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for about 10 years. I absolutely love the concept of two drawers for washing dishes since I always have an empty washer that I can load. But I have to admit I have not been 100% satisfied with the unit. The top washer has always had issues and I have had it serviced almost every year for the last 10 years. Most of the time it will beep and stop running through the cycle for no reason. And even when it does run through the cycle, some of the dishes will need to be run again. It is not always super clean as I would expect from a good dishwasher. I am told that the newer models do not have the computer at the bottom of both drawers, which causes it to short circuit a lot. I hope the newer models are better at cleaning the dishes than mine is.

Ive owned front-load machines for the past 5 years. Had a good experience with them as well. I just moved into top-load HE laundry and went F&P. After comparing the two styles I would recommend the F&P top-loaders. Being able to control your water levels is such an advantage to laundry. Heavily soiled stains are removed more significant with extra water. Having a thorough rinse improved my whites and stained outdoor clothing. The gentleness of F&P laundry is at peak level. My delicate clothing is avoiding vigorous wear and tear, even though front-load offers a delicate cycle. The controlled spin out speed is phenomenal. Clothes are noticeably softer and brighter. F&P laundry is amazing and I would recommend to any consumer.

We bought a two-door dishwasher. It was on sale. It seemed to be way above a very well made machine as far as I can tell. It’s extremely quiet (I can’t believe a dishwasher can be that quiet). However when we got the machine home and opened the box, there were a few parts missing. I bought my Fisher-Paykel dishwasher in 1/09. It worked fine for a few months, but started beeping and would stop running. I contacted Fisher-Paykel and they recommended I use the dishwasher cleaner, which I did. It ran fine for a while but again started beeping. This time I contacted Jeffers-McGill in Columbia, where I bought the dishwasher. They were very unconcerned and gave me the name of a repair company. I have had 2 technicians come, neither seemed to know how to fix it, and after paying $132, I still dont have a dishwasher that is running correctly. One of the technicians indicated it had been installed wrong. I have now spent over $200 for a $1,000 machine, and still dont have a dishwasher I can depend on. In fact, the 1st dishwasher I bought from Jeffers-McGill started giving me problems after only 2 years, at which time I bought the Fisher-Paykel. I will never buy another appliance from Jeffers-McGill, nor will my family, former good customers of theirs. What do I do now? I am very upset about spending so much money on an elite appliance that is not living up to its reputation.

We purchased the washer and dryer 5 years ago as appliance sales people everywhere gave the set rave reviews. Their excitement had to be due to huge spiffs or incentives for selling these as I have never owned anything so problematic. Among the issues, no service people know how or want to repair them. The washer doesnt clean clothes, water temp is never correct, and there are error codes. The dryer doesnt catch lint, it is noisy and it stopped working. I have been told by several salespeople, They are so easy to work on. Very few moving parts, etc. What no one tells you is that moving parts are very inexpensive compared to the circuit boards needed to possibly fix my dryer so it will run. $360.00 for the parts and who knows for labor! Despicable! I will never do business with Fisher & Paykel again nor will I pay to talk to a service rep on line. Very poor customer service.
