Fisher & Paykel wall mounted dryer has for the past 2 years been shredd
Fisher & Paykel wall mounted dryer has for the past 2 years been shredding the lining inside the dryer drum so much its now back to the bare beginnings. F & P have told me to contact their service about purchasing/replacing the drum. Not a very helpful reply and at this point I would never buy or recommend F& P, in fact I would advise against.

When we built our house, my wife did her shopping around for her appliances and she basically liked the dual dish drawer concept and Fisher & Paykel seemed to be the only one around that had it available. Compared to the other dishwashers we had in the past Fisher & Paykel is superior in noise, cleaning, versatility. Being able to use just a minor amount versus the whole thing because it had two drawers, two different sizes. There’s a big problem we had with getting the warranty registered because the builder installed it and we assumed he registered the warranty, but he didnt. So we had to go back and look at the procedures. It took quite a bit of time to get the warranty registered correctly. Since it was a foreign country that was working in the United States, there’s a bit of a language situation too. Their accent was a little hard to understand sometimes.

I had the pump and panel replaced (by a Fisher&Paykel recommended company) at a cost of about $400. Later had another problem with the washer and called a different repairman who told me there was probably no need for the replacement of those parts. The problems this time were due to something getting caught underneath something and was a simple repair for him, at a fraction of the cost for the parts replacements.

I had a Maytag that I had been suffering through with for two years and hated it unbelievably and I did not want one of those front loader machines because of all the mold and whatever issues with the door, and I have to worry about leaving the door open and cleaning the door, cleaning the machine and all that stuff for I got the Maytag and oh my God! I felt like it did a terrible job. I dont like my washing machine being locked for a big long period of time that I cant get into it and I have to sit there and wait and wait. It was horrible. I only used it on one cycle and that was the cycle that filled it all the way up because it didnt do a good job the rest of the time. Finally, I just had enough and I started researching, which I had researched when I bought that one too. But I started researching and really reading a ton of consumer information out there on the internet. I noticed that some other people have had the same problem I had and they bought this Fisher & Paykel. My husband knew I was looking for one and he came up with the same one. I said, Well, I dont know. I guess Ill try it. Well order it from Sears. I paid 200 and some dollars just to have it brought to me. But it was supposed to be new in the box so I ordered it from their outlet. Ever since I have gotten it, the minute you pushed for it to unlock, it stops immediately and its unlocked. And so, thats not an issue for me at all. It doesnt finish its cycle and then unlock. I truly love it. And I choose my own level that its going to be at. You can do that or you can let it do its own thing. I checked it a couple of times when Ive let it do its own thing and it seems just to fill it to where it should. But Im kind of old school so I like to choose my own water level. Also, sometimes Ill wash a load and do a little bit of a bleach in it, and then I want to rewash the whole thing. Once that water spins out of there, I can push it forward to be done with the cycle and start it over again, and that works. The other one did not work - I had to let it complete and for being so energy efficient it used so much energy you just cant even believe. This one, you still get to tell it what to do, you are in charge of it, and it does an excellent job.

This was my first purchase. I had a piece of crap of a refrigerator from the 70s before. I chose F&P as it was the only model that fit in the space that I had. I designed the kitchen around the dimensions of this fridge. I got the stainless steel F&P ref and I like the look and the size. The experience with them is good. However, my freezer drawer came off the tracks one time and I had them come out. And it actually came off again. And now, I’m just leaving it. Overall, it’s good but the freezer drawer has a design flaw.

We bought a dual drawer Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2009 for a house
We bought a dual drawer Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2009 for a house that we were building. Due to problems with the builder, the dishwasher sat unpacked in a garage for a year. When it was finally installed, it didnt work! First, the bottom drawer didnt drain. We called a plumber to come look at it. He called the Fisher & Paykel appliance rep. They recommended that we install two separate drain lines. It still didnt drain. The appliance guy and plumber each came out again and we even tried a different plumber. Now the bottom drawer drains but the top one doesnt, which completely defeats the purpose of having a dual drawer dishwasher. We contacted Fisher and Paykel and Lowes where we purchased the appliance and neither would offer any assistance as the warranty had expired. We have only used the machine 20 times. Its such a shame and waste. Our KitchenAid dual drawer dishwasher at our old home worked much better with no problems. We had bought this one because we were told it was quieter. It is quieter because we dont use it

We built a new house and purchased all new appliances Feb 2007. New fisher paykel washer GLW15 - loved it at first. Their repair service is done by Howie **. I had them repair the Uline wine cooler and after a year of them ordering parts and trying this and that, I would not have them come back to my house for the washer. I used a respected appliance repair person used for years on my apt building. June 2009 replaced drain pump, August 2010 replaced drain pump. February 2011 replaced drain pump, June 21, 2011 drain pump is fine, circuit board is shot. One on order - it is now August 17 - still no circuit board and no idea when it is coming. I have no had to pay for laundry to be done for 8 weeks.

We bought a slightly used machine and for 2 weeks, things were fine. Then during the wash, the machine would stop with an error code indicating a problem with a motor sensor. Then after a month or so, the machine would not run - just the same error soon after the washer was started. There was no repair service that I could identify in our area. Anyway, after numerous attempts to run the machine, I let it sit for about 2 weeks unplugged. Then I tried it again, and it works like a champ now. The washer has completed 7 loads with no errors. This is an excellent machine when it works. And if it continues to do so, I would certainly recommend it to anyone who could afford the purchase price.

On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. So Fisher Paykel has gone beyond the call of duty here, and we certainly appreciate their reaching out to consumers of their product. Thank you.

We were renovating our kitchen and I loved the idea of the two-drawer dishwasher because it’s just my husband and I, and they’re just made a lot more since. It seemed to work out better and it did. We were basically just shopping around and discovered Fisher & Paykel. It’s our first purchase with them. So I got it and loved it. After a year, we’ve had a problem with the handle part of the washer. The top part, where all your buttons are which is right above the handle, cracked within a couple of years. And it is a plastic piece. Maybe it’s just weak in that area so that when you do open it, and they didn’t crack at the very same week but within a short time of each other, they both have a crack in that plastic handle. And I sent a picture which was very obvious where the crack was. When I wrote Fisher & Paykel which was probably a year after they cracked, they said, “We’re sorry, your warranty has run out. We aren’t going to be able to give anything for you.” I feel like we’re two people. I hadn’t really worn it out. I may have lived here and had my kitchen renovated four years ago but I still didn’t wear out the dishwasher. We have a summer home on the river which we spend a lot of time there. I feel this way, I can’t be the only one with this two-drawer dishwasher that had this problem.

Customer service is NON Existent. I have a F&P two drawer dishwasher. Generally speaking it is a good appliance, but if you need any parts, forget it. The agitator tends to wear out. It only costs about $100 to get a new one and it is dead easy to replace, BUT in my case F&P shipped the WRONG part under the right part number sticker, so the part didnt quite fit, or work. I engaged a professional, who took the very same part number out of her truck and put it in...and everything worked. Cost me an extra $300... but heres the thing. F&P said tough, we dont accept returns even if we made the mistake!... four times. And after talking to some appliance service people, this is apparently pretty common that what is in the box doesnt match the number printed on the box. So beware.

On 10/4/12, I posted a complaint regarding my F&P refrigerator. My refrigerator was 4 y/o and the display panel & water dispenser broke. Three days later, I received a call from Lisette, Customer Service Manager for Fisher & Paykel. She understood my frustration and assured me she would contact a local repair business. The repair service did not work out well, so I called again and Lisette assured me she would take care of everything to my satisfaction. She contacted a different repair service that did a fantastic job and F&P paid for all of the parts. I cannot say enough about F&P Customer Service and especially Lisette. She was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this company and appliance. I have purchased many brands of appliances throughout my lifetime and I have never had such a positive experience as I did with this company. This has restored my faith with the customer service of large companies, thanks to Fisher & Paykel. If they can deliver such incredible service, why cant other big name companies? Thank you, Lisette, for all of your assistance!

This is a continung saga from my earlier complaint.OK, so I called in the service repair person recommended to my by F&P Customer Service. Now mind you I had absolutely no choice in the matter because, F&P would not allow me to talk to their service personnel unless I was an official appliance repair organization sanctioned by them. The dilemma is as follows: The washing machine was 4 years old and stopped in the middle of a wash cycle. The display panel was dead so I could not read any codes. I Call F&P for advise on how to diagnose the problem. They refused to let me talk to their service personnel. My background is 30 year in computer a EE degree and of those 30 years I spent 4 years fixing large mainframes. So I know a little about electronics, control board, electricity, motors etc. This did not matter to F&P, ok fair enough but why refuse me the option to solve my own problem at my own risk.In addition a new machine would cost me about $550. Now the price tag I was looking at to fix the machine was about $300 to $400 for parts and if you add in a repair person: $100 for diagnosis and then another $250 for labor your talking $700 tops for parts and labor on a machine that lasted only 4 years and cost me approx $500. If I could eliminate the middle man then I could get away with $200 to $300 parts only. Because F&P service would not talk to me I would have to eat the cost for both parts which I speculated could be the problem. They would consider both part and not be restock able. Oh if they had just talked to me.Cutting to the quick the repair person confirmed that the motor control board was bad and, now heres the gem, I also have a burned out pump. To diagnose the pump problem the repair person called F&P service and they instructed him to ohm out the pump. Now I could have done that. So the end result was I was looking at $280 for part and, $250 for labor. On top of that the repair person also offered to buy the machine if I decided to junk it and, buy a new one. So now let me ask you, is there a problem with his scenario. So I called F&P parts and they are shipping me the parts for a grand total of $210 and that includes, shipping. But, there still remains a problem. If I install the part I void the part warranty and if I have the repair person do this then it cost me $250 maybe more because now they loose the part markup. So my position is as follows should I pursue a legal option. F&P recommended the service person I called and had them come is for a cost to me of $100. He diagnosed the problem to be the motor control board and the pump, the latter being assisted by F&P service. If I install both parts, pump then motor control, dont want the pump blowing the motor control again and, the machine does not work, I will conclude the repair person did not meet their obligation and, either I will request a refund for poor service (i.e. I will chase them down using the AGs office first then, take them to small claims) or ask them to further diagnose the issue at no charge. Count on it I will be there when they come in. I know my way around electronics. As for F&P they need to think further about how to deal with product repair. Their customers are being fleeced and F&P is complicate. Now heres a bonus. The repair man told me that the reason the pump went bad, which burned out my motor control board, hmmmm, was because, I used liquid detergent. Yes folks take a look at your grocers shelves and tell me what sort of detergent is being promoted? Thats right, liquid. Appears that liquid detergent breaks down the motor seals. The repair person recommended we use powder. My wife had to search hard to find a powdered detergent. So folk your washer is doomed from day one. Now I dont make these machines but I was wondering if there could be a class action suit in here.Oh and by the way those dryer sheets you put in to make your clothes smell good. Well they can coat your dryer and start a fire and if you have small children well those same sheets will remove the fire retardant material from their clothes.

I had to do one repair with the used dishwasher but that was no big deal. It works out fine. My wife loves the burner. I purchased a Dish Drawer dishwasher for a kitchen remodel in 2008. I was lured by the fact there are two (2) independent washer units; one on top of the other which allowed flexibility in cleaning as well as potential addition kitchen utensil storage. Troubles began within the first 90-days. I have summoned kitchen appliance repair companies listed as authorized by Fisher Paykel numerous times with the last service attendant indicating there are serious design flaws with the appliance. At this date the following had been experienced: The bottom dishwasher unit is completely non-functional, the touch wash controls in the operating unit do not work correctly; and now are stuck in one washer cycle. I was informed by one of the techs that came out there is a design flaw that allows water to seep into the controls. For $1,500 for a dishwasher I would have expected more. What is more alarming is the sales rep when I bought the appliance indicated the manufacturer also made kidney dialysis machines. If this is the case (and my research indicates this is true) there are numerous fatalities if the quality of the dialysis machines is the same as the Dish Drawer. Do not under any circumstances purchase anything this Company makes. The quality is terrible!!!

I saw Fisher Paykel through Consumer Reports years ago. Im a repeat customer of that company. Its my third or fourth purchase with them - the latest being a washer and dryer. Their lifespan isnt as long as it used to be. Theyre not built like they were back 25 years ago when you could have one for 20 years. Not so much plastic should be used in manufacturing some of the push buttons and things that tend to break or wear out over time. The whole face is plastic and the face tends to crack on the buttons that you use consistently. There should be more flexibility in the fabric that theyre using for those push buttons. Theyre pretty simple machines. The noise level on the washer is pretty high. It sounds like you have an airplane in your house. Besides that and things breaking that are too expensive to repair, theyre fine. They wash the clothes and they get them clean. Thats all I can ask for.

Bought my Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer from a local retailer, 6 or 7 years ago. The washer sounds like an airplane going off and the dryer has been serviced three times. This time after only 6 or 7 years, the dryer will cost $450 to fix, plus the $117 service call. I paid what I thought was a fortune for them both, being told they were the best out there. I have hated them since I got them. I went yesterday and bought a $498 set of Whirlpool washer and dryer to replace them. I cant wait to get them. I am going to throw my Fisher & Paykel in the trash and tell everyone I know not to buy their products. The retailer even told me that they are not built to last more than 6 to 7 years. Its too expensive in the first place and then to find that out. Never again!

I purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer in 2009. The washer has worked okay, except for two instances in which the pump wouldnt drain its water and investigation determined the pump had been obstructed by lint. The dryer is another issue altogether. The first problem came just over a year into owning this appliance. The bearing was deemed failed and it had to be replaced. The bearing is less than a year old and the dryer again sounds like bare metal grinding on bare metal. Now...the dryer had to be serviced for heating problems. Specifically, the dryer would run for hours without drying the clothes. It was determined that the lint sensor trips the heater to prevent fire...makes sense, but further investigation found that the fine mesh screen which serves as a filter has dry-rotted and failed, so lint quickly moves to the inside of the appliance and repeatedly triggers the safety mechanism.Question: Why should I have to take this unit apart every couple of days to clean it? The design is obviously flawed. Ive never done such a thing to the previous dryer I owned, nor have my parents...even when there were eight of us in the house. Sadly, I was given the entire song and dance about how wonderful these high priced, gilded turds would save me time and money. Nothing is further from the truth. While the appliance technician has been friendly and helpful (once I can get in touch with him), these appliances have been miserable to own. I share my house with four others and the laundry piles up quickly...not to mention the fact that the dryer is a fire waiting to happen. I had a Whirlpool standard dryer that was seven years old and I got rid of it when I bought these gems...it still worked. What was I thinking? Now the decision must be made...shell out a few hundred bucks for a poorly designed lint filter and service, or, look for an older standard dryer. Guess what...Goodbye Fisher Paykel! Note to others: Stay well clear of this high tech junk.

We have had a Fisher & Paykel dish drawer for a few years and have been pleased with the dish drawer after we learned some of the nuances of a dish drawer. Recently, we had to replace the rotor. I contacted the company to purchase the rotor and found it was less expensive buying it directly. The company was easy to work with and the item sent quickly. After replacing the rotor, we found there were more problems than we had initially thought. I contacted the authorized repair facility and they also were great to deal with. However, I would like to see other dealers in order to do some price comparisons because we had to pay extra fees on top of the repair bill due to the distance. They also charged quite a lot per hour. The repairman was extremely helpful on teaching me something so I could repair the drawer on my own if I ever had to.The repairman contacted F&P due to some previous poor repairs before we owned the home. F&P offered to pay for the parts, we just had to pay for labor. The repairman repaired the most difficult part that we initially called him about and I was able to order other parts and repair them myself later. The entire experience (although frustrating to be sans a dish drawer) was very easy and in all cases, the parts were cheaper dealing directly with F&P. I will also say it really was great to at least have one drawer to wash dishes while the other was out of commission. The only reason it is 4 stars instead of 5 was due to a shipping error which delayed my order. My F&P washing machine kept getting stuck and not draining. I had a repair come out and $380 fixed it. Six months later, same thing with machine not draining. I took to the internet and found out that the drain pump was likely plugged. I was able to fix it myself, which wasnt easy, turning machine on its side, pulling out the coin that was clogging the pump, etc. This happened four more times, me fixing it each time. Then the last time, there was nothing clogging it. Repairman said $400 to fix. I said, Forget you, and tossed the machine. Now I have an LG which I love. My F&P dryer is now squeaking and making a horrible noise. Its less than five years old. I refuse to put any more money into these pieces of junk, so unless me replacing the bearing myself works, it will also be joining the washer in appliance heaven (oops, maybe hell). FYI, customer service is also horrible and offers you no help once your warranty is up. Big surprise there.

I purchased a washer and dryer from Lowes. Within a year both needed service, under warranty. The following year both again needed service, the motor in the washer and the board on the dryer. $600 in repairs. Neither under warranty. I spoke with F&P and they wouldnt assist on the repair. On year three, the dryer went out again. I spoke to F&P and they told me to get a repair estimate and they would aid in the repair. The repairman, the only F&P rep in town, told me the units were junk even though they were on their high end. I called back to F&P with the estimate, $250 + $80 diagnostics, and was told, you have lemons. That is the nature of the world we live in. Too bad. I trashed the 3 year old units and replaced with something else. Avoid this company. The units are flimsy to say the least.

Our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawers came in the house when we bought it and we havent replaced them yet. We do have problems with it. Sometimes the lid does not like to open and close correctly. We had a repairman come out and showed us what to do to try and remedy that. And then the top one for some reason will go all the way through the cycle when its on the short cycle but when its on the regular cycle, it stops halfway through. Maybe if they’re brand new, everything would be working okay, but this unit is probably about 8 to 10 years old.

We have had our Fisher & Paykel dryer for a little over two years. At the end of the first year, there was a problem with the door. Fortunately, it was still under warranty and was replaced. However, at the end of the second year, the sensor did not work. The dryer would spin continuously without any heat. At the end of the cycle, the dryer would rotate for several minutes in the locked position and we could not open it. We had contacted Fisher & Paykel to find out what the problem was, and they suggested that we call a technician. We contacted an authorized technician, who said that the door was broken. As the part being replaced was under warranty within the year, I asked that he contact Fisher & Paykel regarding warranty for that part. He called, was placed on hold, and then was disconnected. Since he had to go to another appointment, I said that I would contact Fisher & Paykel directly. Fisher & Paykel asked that I submit invoices for the purchase and the technicians notes, which I did. They then informed me that it is not their policy to reimburse for payments! My response to them was, How was I to submit the technicians notes without payment? They apologized that they were sorry I did not know the process. How would a consumer know what their process was without being told, either by their authorized service rep or their customer service? I was not advised of my rights or their process, and as a result, I am now out of pocket for around $300 for a dryer that is only a little over two years old. I have had Maytag and Whirlpool washers and dryers for 30 years, and not once did I have to call for service. This product is a lemon. I have given this feedback to Fisher & Paykel and am in the market for a new dryer. It would be less expensive to purchase another dryer, a different brand, than to continue with any further repairs down the road.

We went to Gorsuch Appliance in Canton and they were telling us about the Fisher & Paykel. My Maytag washer died after 18 years so I switched to the Fisher & Paykel on their recommendation. What sold me on the product was the no agitator thing and that it weighed the load. Also because Maytag is not what it used to be. I like the washer. Compared to what my other one was, its slow and I thought these new washers were faster. It takes a little longer, but I can get more clothes in. Thats a big plus. And Ive only had one time where it was off balanced and that was the first time that I washed sheets and I didnt read the instructions properly.

We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer in Nov. 2005 with the extended warranty from Lowes. After one year I had to have the water pump replaced. After two years I had the pump clog. I have had clothes torn. I had to have repairman come out-total on that visit took two weeks to repair. Now we have a loud noise with the washer. Each year there has been a problem with the washer-now we go onto the dryer. The control panel goes in and out; now have a very loud noise. It doesnt always dry the clothes. The lint screens are torn, which allows the lint to go behind the lint panel and causes the dryer to turn off if there is too much in there. It clogs the whole thing; of course we once again have the repairman on his way, which he thinks it is the bearings or the pulleys in the dryer. I wonder what that is going to cost. Needless to say, we will most likely not have the dryer repaired. We will have to purchase another washer and dryer. I’m so tired of the whole mess. We will never buy a Fisher and Paykel. When you talk with customer service it is like speaking to the wall. There’s no help whatsoever. This company does not stand behind their products. It’s good money just thrown away!

We purchased our Fisher & Paykel set in 2005. We purchased the washer first as our GE model took a dive after 12 years of faithful, service-free service. The dryer caved about 5 months later and we replaced with the Fisher & Paykel ECOSMART for $825!!! Now, we are usually not people to splurge on this stuff. Our GEs did great so we took some convincing to upgrade, but we did. In hindsight, I should have taken the $400 GE and 12 more years of service-free service over the FP. Our first service call was in 2008 because the bearings went. We had 2 more service calls to replace those again and again since then along with a service call for a vent issue, a heating issue and now a fan issue. 5 calls in 8 years at $75 a pop PLUS parts, todays call was $200 total!!! This dryer has cost us close to $2,000 in 8 years...no dryer is worth that when it comes with problems, service calls, replacement parts, and a not-so friendly customer service person who my husband just hung up with. DO NOT BUY ONE!!!!

We purchased the refrigerator on July 2, 2013. Fisher Paykel seems to be one of the few manufacturers with boxes narrower than 35. Today is July 6, all is set up. Its been running for 3 days. However, the cold water dispenser is not dispensing ice water. The water is at 62.5 degrees Fahrenheit. That is the same temperature of the water from the tap. We have well water which comes out at 62.5 degrees Fahrenheit. So the water is not being chilled. I may as well drink from the tap. How do you get this water colder? It wasnt necessary for us to purchase this model if the cold water dispenser doesnt chill the water. What is the design rate of ice cube production?

The warranty ran out and the dryer tore up again. Tech came and repaired it, costing me around $150.00. Now, the washer does not work again and I am so upset. I thought that I had the perfect set and I was mistaken. I didn’t even mind paying more for it. I should have gotten a different brand that was cheaper but would have lasted longer. My mother had a F&P dishwasher and she loved it very much. Then I had a F&P refrigerator. So when I moved in to my new house that I bought, I decided to go with the Fisher & Paykel again because I really loved that refrigerator. I got the newer model basically the same as the one I had in my apartment.First of all, it’s stainless steel. It’s hard if you have a small kitchen but this one fits perfectly. I love the bottom freezer drawer, and the front of it is so sleek and shiny, very simple. There’s only one thing - it didn’t have the egg carton thing like the little egg rack. And I didn’t want an ice maker so I’m so glad it came without the ice maker. This was the only one that fits the bill. It’s really hard to find nice, counter-depth refrigerator that aren’t humongously wide so it’s absolutely perfect! I love looking at it. I am in love with my refrigerator.

We went to an appliance store down in Houston and we had tested several washers. Fisher Paykel is what we first bought. We found out the ease of the repair and the warranty so we bought a washer. And then my dishwasher went out and I needed a new one so we went to the same place. Since we had such good luck with the washing machine, we went with the dishwasher also. I love the new models - love the efficiency. I love that they dont use a whole lot of water or energy and the results of the clean are as good, if not better, than a model that uses all the water and all the electricity. It doesnt cost me a million dollar to have them repaired. My experience has been fantastic. Ive had one problem with my washing machine and it was very easy to take a part and we found a YouTube video and took it apart and replaced the part ourselves. So instead of having someone come out and we have to pay them $120 just to look at it, for $60 for the part and everything, it was done and over within 15 minutes.

The washer is quiet and convenient. We are able to run two loads at the same time, but with different cycles. The drawers are great also because we can do smaller loads of dishes and while one drawer is running we can fill the other. Another great feature is the stainless steal finish - it doesnt mark. You can literally rub your hands all over it and it wont mark. Friends of ours have a Bosch - nice washer but it always looks dirty because of fingerprints all over it. (They have kids.) Had my washing machine about 18 months, when the drain pump went, then about 4 weeks later the circuit board went down. What gets me angry is that each part takes over a week to get repaired to the machine, as they have to order the part. I find this outrageous that it takes that long. You can only contact Fisher Paykel on the 1300 number in NZ, and theyre not worried that you are without your appliance for however long, as the parts come from their Queensland depot, and they dont do overnight express. So I asked why they didnt have a service center with their parts here in WA, and every Capital City, but they said its not necessary to do that. What a lot of bull. Their customer service is disgusting. Washing machines are very needy when you have kids. Waiting for over a week to get any appliance fixed in this day and age is bad management, and they need to look at ways to provide quicker and better service to the consumers that buy their products that keeps them in jobs. This will be the last Fisher Paykel appliance I ever buy - never again!

Fisher-Paykel WL4227J1 - We purchased this machine, new, on 9/24/14. The machine worked well for 2 weeks & then developed a loud hum in the pump during the drain cycle. Once I was able to get a technician here a week later, it was confirmed that the pump was defective & needed to be replaced under warranty. Now for the part that angers me... The repair shop called back & stated that it would be another week to get the part, as F/P ships from AZ & that it would take 5 business days to arrive... Seriously? So I called F/P direct & was told that it would be 3-5 business days as the part ships from Huntington Beach, CA. Or, I could contact the retailer I purchased the machine from & ask them to exchange it... but that they were under no obligation to do so. Hello... customer service. Fisher & Paykel should be OVERNIGHTING a new pump to my retailer... not the 3-5 business days they stated as it is a brand new machine. I have a number of friends who had had Fisher Paykel in kitchen remodels. I heard good and bad, and my designer recommended it once we got started with the kitchen. He said Fisher Paykel made all the dishwasher drawers for everybody else. So we might as well go with the one who makes the most of them. I have a full-sized dishwasher to handle everyday other things but I wanted something just for little things throughout the day that build up in the sink. When I saw them, I was very impressed and I was extremely pleased with it. I like that it holds everything and its easy to operate. This was my first purchase of a Fisher Paykel. I had problems with it in the beginning. I dont know whether it was related to the person who installed it or the way that it was installed. Every time I went to use it for the first two weeks, I got an error message. We finally figured out that it was pushed too far back in the cabinet and it was pushing into the waterline every time that happened so it was causing the error message to tell me that it wasnt connected. But I like it now a lot.

Sometimes, I have to spin them twice to get all the water out. The bearings in the dryer have been replaced 2-3 times, the thermostat, sensor module, and central module. Well, our washing machine stopped working the other day. It would fill up with water, try to swish back and forth, but seemed very slow and almost stuck. By the time I got home, the water smelled funny from the wash. I tried to cycle it to the rinse and spin cycle to get the smelly water out at least, with no avail. I unplugged it, hoping it would reset. It would then start the wash cycle again, and it would chug a little then just hum, then stop and make an alarm - beeeeeep, beeep (like a fire alarm). So I emptied out the yucky water, and took out the clothes hoping maybe something was catching in it and it would start again. Chugged a little faster, but still stopped and wouldnt spin or drain. Emptied water again.Ok, Im tempted to take it apart but realized maybe it would void the warranty, so decided to google it and it directed me to this site. Boy was I in for a surprise. Based on the comments and reviews, I immediately thought of getting a new machine that was not Fisher Paykel. These units were bought for us in a new home in 2008 from the contractor, so I wasnt sure if my warranty was still good or not. To my surprise, I called the toll free number on this site, and immediately got a representative that deals directly with problems. No wait time. Lisa was very informative, patient, and understanding of the issue. We went through the flow sheet together to try and diagnose the issue. Still no resolution. She offered to send out a Fisher tech at a rate of $85.00 for the consultation and whatever time it would take them to fix it. She guessed maybe only 30 minutes.Lisa offered to supply the parts free of charge, although I might have been out of warranty. Parts could have ranged up to $350. I weighed out the cost versus buying a new unit, and I realize I still would be coming out ahead with the tech. Plus he would be there the next day. Tech showed up early at 9:30am and diagnosed that mattress pad material that we laundered and got stuck in the motor mechanism. Replace motor mechanism as a precaution but would have worked otherwise. Funny thing, I almost suspected that because after I removed the dirty stinky water, it smelled liked something was burnt due to being stuck. But once again, Im just a doctor and no handyman at all, but I still try to do things myself when I can. I always research first, then do.My experience with the company is 4.5 out of 5 stars. Lisa gets 5 stars, the 0.5 stars less was because the tech was there for only 10 minutes top and charged us $65 still? So I wasnt sure about that, but I wasnt home, and my wife didnt know what to expect. I would have challenged his rate, to see if he prorates it or not, but maybe they bill by the hour regardless. I wished he changed my control panel and water pump as a precaution because this seemed to be a known problem, but I wasnt there to ask him. Why? Because if that fails soon, then I will have to pay the service call again along with his time. I hope this doesnt happen, because I might not be so understanding after that. So my bills $150.00. Im very satisfied with how this went down. My machine works, but Im still cautiously optimistic about the longevity of this product. However, I do feel Fisher and Lisa will take care of me if future problems arise. Thanks Lisa, and good luck everyone!

I meant to write you sooner about this but kept putting it off for two yrs. now. First, I had problems with the washer and the control panel. It was fixed over and over all during the warranty phase, but when the warranty ran out, it was suggested I purchase a new one which I did. Its fine now. The Dryer on the other hand is still a problem. It first quit drying. I had it repaired to the tune of $200+. New parts had to be installed. Then it became very noisy, shaking the whole house. I have had someone out twice and here I am again, listening the the noise. Its the ball bearings, I believe. They put in new parts but its still the same thing. Can you please recommend a knowledgeable washer/dryer service out in this area? Thank you.

I recently cut my finger when pulling it open, and discovered three sharp, probably metal projections on the pull. I can only conclude that this must be a design defect. The Ecosmart FP Washer was recommended by a designer friend of mine who loved these washers and said she had recommended this to several of her clients. It had a belt driven motor, was low maintenance and easy to repair. So I bought mine in 10/2009. It has worked great for 3 years and btw just last week, I recommended it to a friend because I loved it so much! Anyway, a few days ago I noticed a leak had developed so I had the repairman come out. He said it needed a new part called an Electronic Pump Assembly or a Kit Repair and Fuse at the price of $343.45 with labor at $220 and tax at $29.96 totaling $592.41 (oh, and service fee of $49.95 just to tell me this). What?! I said, That is almost the price of a new washer? He said, Yes, I see this pump go out a lot on these washers but the new part has been improved and should last about 10 years. But darn it, I shouldnt have to pay the cost of a new machine just to get that defective part replaced. I am so disappointed and frustrated because I actually like this unit. Im not sure if I want to risk purchasing another FP Washer (what if it still has that defective part?). It only lasted 3 years!

I purchased a washer and dryer set on 9/17/08 with some life insurance money that was left to me by my father. The sales person stated that there was a 2-year warranty. I figured that if anything happens to a $1700 set in two years, the company/item is not any good. Well, close to that time I never received anything about maybe purchasing an extended warranty (as Sears always calls). Now on 9/27/11, my washer began to not wash. A little water began leaking from the front of the washer (underneath). I didnt think much of it as I work 60 hours a week and did not have time to call. But now the motor control in the display area is fried. And the people that Fisher Paykel recommended charged me $80 to come out (mind you, they never stated that the service call was that much) and tell me that it was gonna cost me another $485 for a $950+ washer. I thought, Um, no thanks. So I pulled apart and all I need is that part. I cannot find it anywhere other than the Fisher Paykel website and it is a $182+ rip-off! I will not purchase another Fisher Paykel item even if they are discounted to $1.

I have to say this is the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It does not clean dishes. The detergent does not dissolve. The draw smells like rotten eggs. The customer service from the company is one of the worst reps I have ever dealt with. When I put the dishwasher on the 30 minute cycle my dishes are dirty and the dishwasher does not get really hot. I would advise everyone not to purchase a product from this company.

Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart washer - We purchased our F&P washer and dryer at Lowes in Denton, TX in April 2005. While the washer was still under warranty, we started having problems. The water wouldnt stop dripping into the tub so we had to call someone out to fix this issue. Now the washer has quit all together. I called someone out ($68.00) only to find out that the main board is out. I realized that the washer is 7 years old, but I thought it would last longer than it did. We did research in Consumer Report before we bought this washer.

My granddaughter was getting married and moving into a home and needed a lot of help with outfitting it so I gave her my old washer and dryer. So then I went out to an appliance store looking for a new washer and dryer and found out about Fisher & Paykel. I had good recommendation from the owner who told me that’s what he had at his house so I chose to buy this brand and I’ve been very satisfied with my first F&P washer and dryer. Really, there are some things that are much better than the previous ones we’ve owned - I think that they spin water out more and the clothes are dryer when you take them out of the washer to put them in the dryer. They don’t have as much water in them so less dry time.

Took months to get appliances and now it is taking months to fix my 5 year old dishwasher. Paid over $2200. A dishwasher this expensive should last longer than 5 years when it is kept well by owners. Both drawers dont work even though only one is broken. Their suggested repair guy said that the circuit boards used to be separate now there is one for both machines, so if one goes, they both go. Neither he nor I were impressed. After 2 months of waiting for part I called to complain and after an hour on hold was put through to customer service, who were supposed to call me back. I did receive a call that day, but could not hear person, I told them and asked them to call back. You guessed it! Have not heard back from this crappy company. Love, love, love my dishwasher drawers, even though it doesnt clean well consistently. Just nice having two dishwashers. If I could find another company that makes them I would switch. This is not a good company. Plus, my oven is so small, my pizza pan would not fit in this oven and the fridge dints terribly. Do not buy this brand. Go with KitchenAid. Maytag dishwashers suck too. My nice, working KitchenAid dishwasher is sitting in basement. But its white, so doesnt match. But I never had a problem with my KitchenAid fridge or dishwasher. Kenmore oven died, thats why I replaced everything. Wrong choice...

Bought the dryer because it was supposed to be highly rated. Bearings have gone out once (and replaced) and they are going out again. Takes forever to dry anything. Only one service provider on the area and it took them two tries to fix the bearings the first time. When I pointed out the lint wasnt collecting in the trap, he had no idea where it might be. I looked up the lint trap on YouTube to figure that out. Still doesnt collect lint (I have to disassemble the dryer to extract it). Maybe they make a good product but this has been a total piece of junk and I would not recommend.

I purchased a FP washer & dryer in 2008 with good recommendations. What a disappointment! Noisy, noisy, noisy. Im embarrassed when we have company and they ask, Whats that noise? I am embarrassed to say its brand name. This is supposed to be a good washer and dryer. The washer is off balance with every load of sheets I wash and plenty of other loads. What an inconvenience to constantly try to re-balance the loads. Also, the design of the dispensers is awful. I have to take them apart and clean them because disgusting black stuff is lurking under the covers. The dryer takes so long to dry. The lint bucket is emptied after each load but about monthly, my husband has to take the lint filter assembly apart to clean the internal parts or the sensor gets covered and the dryer works even longer.Ive been using automatic washers and dryers for 42 years and have never been more dissatisfied. I will never recommend FP to anyone, in fact, my recommendation for an FP product would be to stay away!

My grandchildren have been in hospital with bad stomachs and we have put it down to the substandard dishwasher. We were told they would replace it and had a call from them but they have never come to replace it. I have called them at least 20 times and emailed with no outcome. I liked the glass shelves and the look and feel of the Fisher & Paykel ref and it was the right fit. Refrigeration is good, but the freezer is terrible from the minute we started using it. My husband was quite upset. The ice maker at first didnt make ice. Now, it makes ice, but its all clumped together. I called Fisher & Paykel customer service two times and couldnt get a straight answer so we gave up on it. We bought a second refrigerator, but we still have the Fisher & Paykel. We bought Fisher Paykel washer last year and I cant say enough good things about it so when our Maytag drier broke I bought the Fisher Paykal drier that matched the washer even though the salesman recommended another brand. Ive given the drier several months and I still hate it. The worst problem is that the auto dry function does not work. The clothes consistently come out over dried. In fact Im surprised my bedspread didnt catch on fire in the drier. When I removed it (because I felt it had been in the drier too long) the panel still said it was damp but it was so cooked that it was completely puckered up and crisp in places. I had to replace it. Clothes still have lint all over them and I hate the fact that the timer can only be set for predetermined amounts of time and that I have to wait for the lid to unlock every time I want to open the lid. It’s a bad design flaw! I wish I could replace it but it seems Im stuck with it now. All I can do is to warn others.

I have a washer and dryer set that I have had for a few years. It has not been anything but trouble since I have had them. The washer has been worked on twice and once the repairman left off a hose and water filled my floor and messed up some of my flooring. Then the dryer had been worked on two or three times and right now it sounds like the whole drum is about to come out. I am tired of having to call a repairman to take care of problems. I tried to tell the people that I bought it from that I thought it was a lemon from the get go, because I had not had it maybe 1 month when it had to be worked on the first time. I would not recommend anyone to buy your products, because I have been very disappointed with your products. I still say that I have a lemon and that I should have been given another one in the beginning. That is what happens when you buy a lemon automobile. Appliances cost too much these days to have to keep having them repaired, because the average person nowadays have been cut back in their pay checks and are not able to afford repair bills.

I was quite surprised to read the negative comments about Fisher Paykel! After being a brand loyal kind of gal, everything I owned appliance wise was Maytag. After my Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer broke down 4 times in a year. I decided it was time for a change. I went to my local appliance store and was just about to purchase a new washer/dryer when the salesman tried to sell me an FP. I had never heard of FP before. The salesman made quite the pitch. When I continued to shy away, finally he told me if I tried the units and didnt like them, within 60 days he would exchange both units. Okay, I gave it a shot. I love my FP washer/dryer so much I bought their double drawer dishwasher. I had to call for service once for the dryer and once for the dishwasher. Both were relatively simple problems that were fixed within 20 minutes of the serviceman entering my house. I would have to say I highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

Fisher Paykel washer and dryer. They are from New Zealand I believe. They were fairly low priced for high-efficiency machines and the washer was a top loader AND conserved water (like the front loaders) but for a better cost. The washer drum is floating and is moved with a magnet. No parts rubbing and strap to change. Pretty neat technology. It also has a large capacity allowing bigger loads (and less of them). The dryer is efficient and takes exactly the same amount of time as the washer to wash a load... Perfect timing. The washer has high spin speed which explains why the drying is fairly quick. We have had these machines probably close to 8-10 years now. Brand reputation is important and we are willing to do some research as we did when we bought the Fisher & Paykel machines. We always look for the best value for our money for products that meet our requirements. We are also willing to wait for the sales. The critiques you read from users are very insightful and we can be turned off if several people have issues with something that we know would bother us too. For example, low quality construction, excessive vibration, too much soap residue, too much time to dry, etc. We are very happy with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer we purchased 8-10 years ago. They are high efficiency, large capacity, top loader (washing machine); making them very user friendly and efficient. I have no regrets even though they dont look as cool as the front loaders but on the other side, I probably paid half the price of the good looking ones and I have the same value.

We purchased a refrigerator ( fisher & paykel ) when we remodeled our kitchen. After 3 years, the door alarm kept beeping after we closed the door. This would keep going until we opened the door and pushed the button inside. We called the company and tried everything they suggested, to no avail. We went online and found that many other consumers had the same problem. Finally, we asked for an authorized service company. They recommended KAM appliances. It cost 95 dollars to get them to come out and tell us that they needed a part to make the repair. When they returned, they told us that the part was defective and they would talk to F& P again. They came out a third time and then the refrigerator would not work at all. We were told that it could not be fixed. We called F & P and they told us we were out of warranty and offered us a pro rated price on a new refrigerator.

We bought a Fisher Paykel washer/dryer set in 2009 for our new house. The dryer model number is DE27CW1. We had a six year warranty and used one call for the washer. In 2019 the dryer would fail to dry clothes. We cleaned the vent pathway and lint buildup in the front of the unit, pressed reset and we were good to go until a load of towels didn’t dry and nothing after that. Removed the front panel, pressed reset again and my husband noted that the heating element was red hot even though the unit wasn’t drying. After receiving an incorrect part from Sears Direct we decided to be grateful we didn’t have a fire and purchased a Miele set. We have pictures of the red hot heating element. There is information on the web about a lawsuit by a family in Washington State who had a fire with their Fisher Paykel dryer. Why wasn’t the Fisher Paykel dryer recalled?

I bought a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and refrigerator quite some time ago. After 3 or 4 years, the dishwasher was deemed beyond repair so we had to buy a new one. The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.

We had the ice maker replaced, then we had sensors replaced. To get parts for a F & P refrigerator it takes FOREVER! This is the worst appliance purchase that I have ever made, and dealing with Lowes lemon laws, etc. has been a nightmare. I used to have a Fisher & Paykel and the reason I was purchasing something is I just remodeled a kitchen in a newer and different house than the one where I had the other one. I got the two-door dishwasher with the tall drawer. Its ugly. I didnt realize it wasnt the same in the front and they ruined the front completely. If I could have sent it back without paying a 25% up charge for returning it, I would have returned it. Im very disappointed. I have the recessed handle, it used to be all stainless steel, now theyve got some junky plastic in the front and thats terrible. I wanted the tall drawer but I assumed it was the same... it looks chintzy. Compared to the rest of my appliances, Im sorry I bought it. I bought it because its great for doing wine glasses although I find that the spot where the wine glasses go is just a slight bit narrower than what I used to have because Im having a little bit more trouble trying to get them into the slot. The dishwasher works just fine. Aesthetically, they ruined it. And I loved my other one. I just think that they didnt do a good job of remodeling it. It doesnt help the people that paid top dollar, I could have had a Bosch which is an equally competent dishwasher or any others and I chose this one because of the fact that I could do a smaller load so theres some wonderful things about it but the look upsets me.
