I purchased an FP washing machine in 2008. I was assured of the quality and low maintenance of this washer. Fortunately, I had the factory warranty and then the extended warranty and I have needed every bit of it. This washer is simply a piece of metal junk. I am so angry and dissatisfied with how FP, Lowes and A&E repair has dealt with this. I had it repaired at least 6 times under the FP warranty and when it was broken it was down for weeks. Parts took forever. Then on to Lowes and A&E. I have had nothing but trouble with the washer. Lowes will not replace my machine and FP refuses to do anything. I just had it repaired in April and it was out of service for a month then. Now it’s leaking water underneath - clearly the bearings are going out and again Im going to be without a washer. This is absolute garbage. Do not buy FP washers - not to mention that now the leaking washing has destroyed my Pergo kitchen floor. I’m very angry.

I have a 10 year old 48” range, priced at approx 8k+. About two years ago, I had to replace all of the interior shelves, at my cost, because they had rusted so badly they would no longer pull out. This year, all of the plastic on the front knobs have puckered and bubbled off, presumably from the heat of the door being opened when the range is on. Customer service has basically said oh well, and has refused to replace the knobs. After replacing all the shelving I certainly won’t pay for new knobs too. The customer service in New Zealand is certainly not what we are used to in the U.S. For the price of this range, they should stand behind their products unconditionally. As I told them, I have had KitchenAid ranges last longer with no problems. So, bottom line, if you are looking for a range with all the bells and whistles, be sure to go for a U.S. company! Oh, and the range has never kept accurate temperatures to boot!

When I first saw my new fridge, I was like, Ooh, how pretty! I liked the look of it, sleek and nicely designed. The last refrigerator I owned was just ok, but my first ever that I had bought. I noticed that the Paykel was European and that was impressive to me. The price was a good one and it seemed very well received online as well. It had good reviews and such, so I went ahead and tried it. Very nice. Currently, I rent my rooms and my roommates like it very much too.

When my wife remodeled our kitchen fully, we chose to purchase the DCS appliance by Fisher & Paykel. We have the 36-inch range top and had the used dual dishwasher. So far so good. I had to do one repair with the used dishwasher but that was no big deal. It works out fine. My wife loves the burner. They are so good that it used to take her 12 to 15 minutes to boil water and it only takes like 2 now. So I know she’s happy with that.

I have had a Fisher and Paykel stove for 20 years and it has served me extremely well. It is only now I have to get a new one as with time and continuous use, parts are wearing out and it is more economical now to replace it. And I am quite happy to go the same way again. In any inquiries I have always found the company approachable and helpful and would have no problem in recommending their product to anyone I know.

I have been trying for 6 months now to get the correct part for my 2 year gas range, the oven igniter does not work. I have been sent the wrong part 4 times and in my last discussion with their service department (3 weeks ago) I was told they do not make the replacement part I require. I asked them if they are going to provide me with a new replacement range. They said they would get back to me and to date I have heard nothing even though they promised to get back to me the next day. I have sent numerous emails following up and they are ignored. I am now taking them to small claims court to settle the matter. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE BUYS a FISHER PAYKEL PRODUCT. High prices, poor quality and poor service.

I absolutely love my new washer and dryer set by Fisher and Paykel. I have had zero problems with the machines since I purchased them in August of this year. The Eco features save me money on water costs, and my clothes dry very fast due to the powerful spin cycle. I cannot recommend highly enough. Best appliance purchase ever!!!

I purchased an FP washer and dryer from Lowe’s on 12/26/2011 for a second home in Palm Springs. I used it once. When we returned in February 24th, 2012, the machine would not even turn on. It was scheduled for repair on next visit. It’s not very promising for reliability after literally one use for a load of towels. I plan to work with Lowe’s in April to determine a return/replacement. It’s very disappointing.

I absolutely hated the Maxima Maytag set that I had gotten and had been a Maytag person for about 30 years. I actually got rid of it, a very recent purchase of a Maytag frontloading set, because I didn’t like them at all and I like this Fisher & Paykel top loading set a lot. I love it! I’m really pleased with the purchase. It’s much more efficient. It’s easy, easy, easy, easy to use, not complicated at all. I like the fact that it’s simple and that it doesn’t have a lot of extras that I don’t need and would never use. But actually, even as it is, it has more than I use now, but it’s good. Space-wise, it’s not as deep, which is great, because in my case, I was kind of surprised by the depth of the front loader and it was inconvenient because it got in our way. So that was another reason why I got rid of the other one. And I’d only had the other set for a year. There’s two comments that I’d like to make with this F&P set… First thing is that I’m unhappy not being able to soak clothes because that’s a nuisance. I’m used to old top loaders where you could fill up the tub, put some bleach in there and soak it overnight, and you can’t do that with this. And unless there’s a way that I can be taught how to do it, I actually called the main headquarters and they simply said it wasn’t possible. Secondly, I’m not sure if it’s what I’ve been using for laundry soap, but it seems like things are a little dingier than they used to be. I’m not sure. I think that might be the soap that I’m using. It’s the whites aren’t getting as white as I’m used to. But I don’t think that’s the washing machine; I think that’s my products. The cleaning products that I use, I’ve always made my own, and I’ve never had a problem with things getting completely clean before and it seems like maybe there’s a residue because they’re not using as much water. And so, I changed back to the high efficiency stuff and everything seems just fine, but it’s a lot more expensive than what I do. Overall, it’s a great machine!

We live in Metropolitan Toronto; largest city in Canada, 3rd or fourth largest in N.A. and Fisher Paykel doesn’t service the area. Outsourcing options to random appliance service centres. I would have to say that the only thing worse than the product - both our freezer and our dishwasher intermittently do not work - is the customer service. I would absolutely not recommend this brand at all!

The washer is quiet and convenient. We are able to run two loads at the same time, but with different cycles. The drawers are great also because we can do smaller loads of dishes and while one drawer is running we can fill the other. Another great feature is the stainless steal finish - it doesnt mark. You can literally rub your hands all over it and it wont mark. Friends of ours have a Bosch - nice washer but it always looks dirty because of fingerprints all over it. (They have kids.) My parents also have a Bosch and they have to clean it once per week or so. Our unit is DD24DDFX7. Highly recommended!

Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer
Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer over icing around the fan area on the rear panel. In memory all that was fixed was the rear panel. The fan cover/vent was not even replaced and was left without one. I dont believe anything was done about the over icing of the back fan area. Then in late September 15 my customer reports the freezer is still defrosting intermittently throughout the many months, but only occasionally. So in September your serviceman visits and says its the door hinge/latch not closing properly causing the light to come on and thus defrosting the freezer. So he fixes it, then the problem continues. So then he orders new hinge latch parts and replaces it and the problem continues. Meanwhile the month and another month has gone by where my customer has a freezer which is defrosting all her food. Food is expensive and she has 6 children and is pregnant. So by now I have spoken to management in your service department a several times to discuss a fast solution. To be informed nothing can be done except send another service man out to fix it.I requested a different serviceman as he has not been able to fix the problem, always stating it is the door hinge/latch. I think he has been there 5 times now. Your management team advises me the serviceman is the person who decides if the fridge can be fixed or not. If he states it cant then the item will be replaced or refunded. (The technician states he is not allowed to report it cant be fixed. He HAS to fix it!!!) So now we are in December the heat is coming in, xmas food needs cooling and the fridge is not keeping the food cold enough either. The lady is pregnant and concerned she may get sick from food/dairy that is not being cooled effectively. So last week I asked management to send another technician. They said this was not possible but they will instruct the technician to ring the service team to discuss the fridge while he was there, to insure the fridge was assessed correctly. To ensure this was going to happen I, the manager of the appliance rental company, attended todays visit to hopefully finalise this ongoing saga. The technician immediately commented on the hinge/latch again.I reported to him that the new parts he replaced did not fix the freezer door coming ajar when the fridge door closed, because I myself checked the problem the very evening he fixed it. And the problem was not any better. I advised of him having to ring the service team while we were all present. He said he had no instruction to do so. But he did, which was a waste of time because your phone service consistently takes close to an hour to speak to someone. I know because I have had to ring this department many times now.So I communicated I dont believe the door is the initial issue. It may be now as it has been tampered with a few times to fix it. Much to his frustration he started to investigate into the freezer. Oh he reports the fan has been intermittently turning off/ not working, therefore this would defrost the fridge slightly and intermittently. I looked in and the fan area, behind the rear panel was solidly blocked with ice, preventing the fan to turn even if it did work intermittently. He says thats ok we will just order all these parts and replace them in a few weeks. When the fan was reported faulty/broken I believe this was the cause of the very first problem back in October 14 and explains why the freezer has been intermittently defrosting. Your technician said it himself. MEANWHILE the lady is losing all her food (which is expensive), the heat is upon us and christmas is here. AND WE ARE STILL WAITING for a fridge to be working. The lady also wants to be reimbursed for food expenses as her patience has also run out. Initially I wanted the fridge replaced. Now after months of ineffective service, I am expecting a refund as it would be bad business to purchase/rent any of Fisher and Paykel appliances simply due to your warranty service procedures. So what to do now? As it is now heading into the 4th month and I think the 5th visit to fix this fridge, and it is still not fixed, I have no more patience. I will not be ringing anymore to be told all you can do is send the technician out again, to assess and fix it. This seems to be the solution even when the fridge is not being fixed. Please consider this email as a formal complaint to be forwarded to the relevant department. Please also be informed I will be sending this email to Consumer Affairs and providing feedback on Fisher and Paykels Facebook on the very poor warranty service provided by your team.I have been continually bumped to alternative team members whom contradict what can be done about FIXING this fridge. I am an appliance rental company whom purchases a lot of appliances. Under no circumstances will I purchase another appliance manufactured by Fisher & Paykel. I will also be informing the 110 franchisees of the ineffective warranty service your company provides. In our business warranty work costs us time, money and sales!

I purchased a washer and dryer set on 9/17/08 with some life insurance money that was left to me by my father. The sales person stated that there was a 2-year warranty. I figured that if anything happens to a $1700 set in two years, the company/item is not any good. Well, close to that time I never received anything about maybe purchasing an extended warranty (as Sears always calls). Now on 9/27/11, my washer began to not wash. A little water began leaking from the front of the washer (underneath). I didnt think much of it as I work 60 hours a week and did not have time to call. But now the motor control in the display area is fried. And the people that Fisher Paykel recommended charged me $80 to come out (mind you, they never stated that the service call was that much) and tell me that it was gonna cost me another $485 for a $950+ washer. I thought, Um, no thanks. So I pulled apart and all I need is that part. I cannot find it anywhere other than the Fisher Paykel website and it is a $182+ rip-off! I will not purchase another Fisher Paykel item even if they are discounted to $1.

My F&P oven was new when I purchased my apartment in 2017. A year later, I experienced problems with the interior lights and the glass ceiling that protected the roasting elements. F&P directed me to their authorized repair company in South Florida, Appliance Service Group, Inc. of Pembroke Pines, FL. I paid them over $800 in advance on Feb. 1, 2019 (they told me that the warranty was for only 1 year, when it is 2 years but F&P finally agreed to honor the warranty after I contacted them). However, my oven still has not been fixed as of April 17, 2019 - a 2 1/2 month delay. ASG has told me several lies about the delay....a part is on backorder, the wrong part was ordered, the part had to come from NZ, etc. I have been promised on several occasions that it would be repaired within 5 to 7 business days. It hasnt and for over 2 1/2 months I have been without the use of my oven. F&P and its authorized service agents are not to be trusted.

Fisher-Paykel washer, replaced the pump twice. Works great after more than 10 years. Price has gone up, I would look to other brands for a replacement though. This washer is easy to repair and very reliable. I have replaced the agitator once, about $100, did it myself. The design lends itself to easy repair by the owner. I would recommend the deep clean cycle with washing soda at least once per month for optimally clean clothes. Just program the clean cycle, dump in the washing soda and turn it on.

We bought dishwasher 9/8/15, installed 9/15, did one load in top drawer; neither drawer has worked since. Tech from Fisher & Paykel came out on 9/11, said control board & heating element bad, took them with him. He said he would try to get parts overnighted. Thats the last we have seen or heard from him. Fortunately, we have not paid for this thing & have contacted our credit card company regarding the charge & they have sent letter to dealer contesting the charge. F-P Top Loading Washing Machine - I would never buy a F-P Product again. We purchased our machine from a local appliance store. After 3 years, the pump broke because a coin had been left in a pocket and got into the pump. We have been waiting for more than three weeks for the part, and the store said the labor cost to install the new one will be high. I won a Fisher Paykel dishdrawer, washer and dryer set in a contest from my local PUD. All three had to be repaired over and over under warranty. After the warranty expired, I have paid to have them all repaired. I finally took the dishdrawer to the dump and just went out and bought a new washer and dryer set. They too will also end up going to the dump. They both still work, but leave my clothes smelling (tried everything to make that go away) and never feel like my clothes are clean. We own a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a washer and dryer. I love those appliances. First of all, I live in a condo. Were a small family so we dont have a big house. What I like most is that those appliances are compact. Theyre not small. My refrigerator is probably the biggest refrigerator that still fits in my kitchen. Its just so nicely designed that it fits into the narrowest spaces to put it in and at the same time it has so many space inside that Im really happy with it. The same about my two other appliances that are a washer and dryer. Theyre separate. Theyre economical. I really love how my clothes look like. But theyre fairly new. I just bought them all this year so I dont know how they would behave in the future. The only thing is when I need a spare part, its really tough to find one.

Fisher Paykel DCS Counter Depth Refrigerator - I am absolutely BEYOND frustrated with this brand! Since last October I have had no less than eight, EIGHT, service calls to sort out why my ice maker drops ice cubes into the receptacle below that are freeze together. The ice that comes out of the cube tray is not frozen fully...therefore it becomes a big lump in my freezer. In order to get ice, we have to stab at it with a big knife. NOT SAFE to say the least. I have had two repair companies come to the house. Theyve called FP techs while at my house to go over the issue. The techs advice this last time was to adjust the temperature. (Or to tell me I dont close the freezer door...sorry on that one...it ain’t the problem or I would have had this issue all along.) I also dont overload my refrigerator or freezer door. Its not my first rodeo with an upscale appliance. If I could, I would dump this lemon on the sidewalk. But since my fridge surround was built for it...I am stuck. I have held back my comments for months, but as of yesterday, I am not doing that any longer. I have listened in to the FP Tech calls to the repairman. The first tech was so incredibly rude and insulting I wanted to take the phone from the poor repair guy and give him a piece of my mind. The second tech said, “Oh, just adjust the temp to a warmer temp,” Really? (Why is he a tech?) Did he not understand that the ice is NOT FROZEN all the way when it drops into the bin? The icemaker was replaced fully several visits ago...its something else and frankly, I dont believe for a quick second that its something the tech guys has never heard of before. Im not a repairman, I am a consumer. A very smart consumer that knows the buck is being passed. I paid $600 for an extended warranty on this unit. I expect the darn thing to work properly. If it cannot be repaired the FP needs to come forward and deliver a new one to me. I will simply not buy, nor ever recommend, this brand again. I would be disingenuous. If no one can repair it, not even the trained FP guys with the tech on the phone...I have no faith. Zero. So sad.

We purchased all new appliances in the spring of 2011 for a newly remodeled home. FISHER PAYKEL washer started to malfunction in the same fashion described by hundreds of people on this site and others like it. Long story short most recent service call tech concluded that several parts were required to repair washer. With the $100 service calls factored in the repair cost exceeds the $1000 cost of the unit.

After buying our 2008 washer and dryer set and after the first use, I should have asked for a pick up. I washed a blanket three times and still got black spots (possibly lint, but wouldnt come off) each time. Weve also had the dryer fixed so many times I cant count. Heating element has been replaced and needs to be replaced again less than a year later. I cant say how unhappy I am with the purchase of this expensive set. I should have gotten a GE. At least, they last for five years with no problems!

I got the panel ready two drawer dishwasher and built in fridge freezer columns. It has been difficult to get the panels adjusted to fit with the kitchen cabinets. Paid $1200 to have the appliances professionally installed and it still doesnt look right. The appliance installers blame it on the cabinets and cabinet installers blame it on the appliances. The panels on the appliances just dont have enough adjustability to make it line up with the rest of the cabinets. I am very disappointed with the look of the kitchen. Its supposed to be a higher end, custom kitchen and it looks worse than if we just got regular appliances. I regret getting the built-in appliances.

I purchased a FP washer & dryer in 2008 with good recommendations. What a disappointment! Noisy, noisy, noisy. Im embarrassed when we have company and they ask, Whats that noise? I am embarrassed to say its brand name. This is supposed to be a good washer and dryer. The washer is off balance with every load of sheets I wash and plenty of other loads. What an inconvenience to constantly try to re-balance the loads. Also, the design of the dispensers is awful. I have to take them apart and clean them because disgusting black stuff is lurking under the covers. The dryer takes so long to dry. The lint bucket is emptied after each load but about monthly, my husband has to take the lint filter assembly apart to clean the internal parts or the sensor gets covered and the dryer works even longer.Ive been using automatic washers and dryers for 42 years and have never been more dissatisfied. I will never recommend FP to anyone, in fact, my recommendation for an FP product would be to stay away!

On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. So Fisher Paykel has gone beyond the call of duty here, and we certainly appreciate their reaching out to consumers of their product. Thank you.

This is my second Fisher Paykel dishwasher. My first one lasted for over 14 years almost double the life expectancy of a dishwasher. I loved that dishwasher and loved the reliability. I could not purchase anything other than a Fisher Paykel for my next dishwasher. The new dishwasher is even better than the first. I love the improvements with the adjustable to racks. The new machine works flawlessly as expected. I love the ability of only using one drawer if I do not have a large load. I also love how quiet this machine is. It is truly a pleasure to own!

As far as the product itself, weve had a great experience with the refrigerator. My biggest issue is with the water filter. It is suggested that you replace the water filter every 6 months. The filters are $50. I find that to be highway robbery. Its absurd to buy a refrigerator and then have to buy new water filters every 6 months. Theres no doubt you could make a filter that lasts longer than that and thats less expensive. I would venture to guess the profit margin on the filter is greater than on the refrigerator. Other than that, my experience has been great. I just feel taken advantage of with respect to the filter.

I purchased the washer and dryer I got from Lowe’s. I didn’t particularly want a front load because I had had a bad experience years ago with them. And I also had very limited space in the house. You could not put a front load washer and a front load dryer in the room because there wasn’t enough room to open it. You had to have top load machines to do it. And Fisher & Paykel has the only top load dryer that we could find. It’s more convenient. I would have bought it no matter what because the top load is just easier to load, unload, and everything else. It also emulates commercial ones by rotating into both directions. Considering that I sold the house in Tallahassee and the people who bought it wanted the appliances, I had to buy new ones for my house in Orlando. I’ll buy them again. I think top load dryers, you can’t say the best thing since sliced bread but it’s that type. The top load washer being an eco-efficient approach. We got the rebates on that. And the style in it emulates some very old, standard washing procedures that had been used throughout the centuries. My only problem with the new one we got down here in Orlando, the washer is really sensitive to an unbalanced load. The one in Tallahassee wasn’t as sensitive.

We purchased a full set of 4 appliances along with extended warranties for a kitchen renovation in 2016. After 5 years, when warranties had expired, only the refrigerator remains in good working order and we love it. The dishwasher never did a very good cleaning job and we had it serviced. (Do NOT purchase the 2 drawer model!) The microwave oven stopped without any warning because the main PCB and line conditioner needed replacement. The interlock assembly on the door also had a fair amount of play in it. Then the induction range slowed down to only 2 working elements until the inverter board completely stopped rendering the cooktop completely unusable. The replacement piece cost was $1800 pre-tax and installation with a 30 DAY warranty! The oven cavity has turned off during use a couple of times which I consider a warning. Fisher and Paykel was unresponsive to communication so I will never purchase or recommend their product in the future.

We have the 30-inch double oven and the double dish drawer. We installed both of them at the same time about 6 years ago. We have had a repairman at our home a minimum of 5 times each year for both products. I really am not exaggerating. In the beginning, the work was covered by warranty. For several years, we have been paying out of pocket. Each visit has cost between $100 and $500. We have waited for parts for over four months (seriously, no oven during that entire time). FPs response when I called directly was Madam, other people have had to wait much longer than that. You have to wait your turn for the part. Im not kidding. Its the worst customer service I have ever seen. And alas, our oven is not working again. The repairman is coming again on Monday. Well pay him $75 (again) to look at it.If the required parts cost more than $200 (which they almost always do), then I think we are throwing it in the trash. At the price we paid for the oven, it should have worked perfectly - at least for a few years. Our dish drawer was last fixed about 3 months ago. We havent had any issues since then, which is remarkable for that product, a full 3 months with a functioning dishwasher! I really hope others read my review and avoid Fisher Paykel products. I rarely write reviews, but these are the worst purchases that I have ever made. The products perform wonderfully when they work, but unfortunately, they rarely work. By the way, we are not abusers of the appliances. All of our other appliances (made by other companies) have performed without any issues. Oh, and yes, I have called FP directly many times over the years. Our repair companies have also called as they were appalled at the repeated issues with the products. FP did not stand behind their product at all. Im very disappointed.

First off, Kathy from Milford, OR, the loud noise in the dryer is the ball bearing (1) on the right side of the dryer as you look at it. Get some white grease and carefully remove and clean the ball bearing, then cover in white grease and even more carefully replace so that the drum, etc. is balanced. The lint contraption is non-functional after each 20th load or so. The lint screen has to be removed and washed by hand and the rest of the unit vacuumed out and then reassembled. After doing this for years, it’s now down to a bi-monthly exercise of 25-30 minutes, including putting away tools and vacuum.Im burdened with too many Fisher Paykel appliances: a double oven, washer, dryer, and double dish drawer dish washer. All in some form of disrepair. The double ovens lower oven stopped working (suspect circuit board), washer has cracked top, control panel buttons breaking, the dryer has had the screen removed to clean so many times the screws are stripped, and the dishwasher filter screen in the top drawer keeps popping up and stopping the sprayer arm from revolving and then I just wash the dishes by hand. All of Fisher Paykel should be closed and customer appliances replaced.

I have sent e-mails and called Fisher Paykel only to find that the customer service is the worst I have seen. No one is responding to the e-mails and they kept me on hold for almost 20 minutes. The store where I bought it from has been trying to help but their hands are tied until they get info from Fisher Paykel. At this time I am so angry, I have been eating out with my 9-month pregnant wife and my 2 1/2-year-old son every night. We were getting a new kitchen installed last May, and after much consideration had gone with almost all Fisher and Paykel appliances. Unfortunately our son had an accident in the kitchen mid Sept shattering the front piece of glass on the oven door. We called Services about a replacement which was showing available online but it took a whole week of ringing every day only to be told that there was no stock of the glass part or a whole door and they couldnt tell for sure when it would be available. Well its 4 weeks now and we have called repeatedly and emailed customer care as well to no avail. Polite and sorry as they always are when speaking on the phone or responding in their emails, the staff seem to be at a loss for a resolution. There seems not to be an answer from the technical team here in the UK which is totally mind boggling for a supposed reputable and growing company. We are sorry that the only people we can speak with are helpless and taking the flak for F&Ps poor services. How does Fisher and Paykel actually function in their after-sales care or do they actually care for their customers? If only we had known this, we would not have kitted out our kitchen with so many F&P appliances. But now that our architect, builders and friends see what we are currently facing, no one is likely to use or recommend the use of F&P appliances. Its a real shame, good products but poor organisation. We have decided the next step would be to refer case to the Ombudsman.

My Fisher & Paykel Washer failed to pump out water or complete a spin cycle. The technician from the store that we bought it from, determined that the pump was not operating and needed to be replaced. This company no longer carries Fisher& Paykel products mainly because it continues to change replacement parts, and have poor support in receiving parts. He did contact the Service Dept. for F&K and was able to find the part number needed for the pump. My wife had to contact them to order and pay for the part. After receiving the shippings tracking number and date of delivery, it became a waiting game. When the package did not arrive on the expected date, my wife contacted the customer service personnel and initially was informed that they could not find the order; then determined that the order did not ship because an additional part was required for the pump. As luck would have it, this part was not in California but was located somewhere in Kentucky.By and large, someone took it upon himself to cancel the order, but failed to inform us of the situation. My wife now had to get the correct information, order the part, trust the so-called experts to credit our charge account, and play the waiting game. Mind you, 2 weeks has lapsed since this process began. When the much awaited part arrived, we had to wait another 4 days for the service tech to install it. Today when I arrived home from work, I found my wife in tears and on the verge of a mental breakdown. The part was installed and when the tech ran a cycle through the machine with a load of clothes in it, it failed to pump the water out again. To make a long story short, when he talked to a tech at F&P, he was informed that a change made to their parts required that the motherboard also needs to be replaced at the time a new part was installed. Now we are talking an additional $190 for the part and $25 for shipping and handling. The total cost with parts already received was $357. NFW are we going to continue to pump money in to this money pit. To fix this problem, we have ordered a new washing machine but it is not an F&K product.Never again will we waste good money on any product by F&P. Not only will we no longer support the products of this company, we will seek out every opportunity to express our dissatisfaction and terrible experience to anyone that will listen. This is the worst buying and service after the sale experience that we have ever encountered. I can only hope that F&Ps competition will eventually drive them out of business.

Fisher-Paykel has apparently spent the majority of their resources on engineers that design a product to last no more than 2 years. I purchased a VERY expensive Fisher-Paykel refrigerator, model number RF175WDRUX1 from Lowes in Lake Worth, Texas on January 17, 2013. In late November of 2014 the fridge stopped working. After reviewing the paperwork, I discovered that Fisher-Paykel offered a 5 year limited warranty.Called Lowes, they put me in contact with a repair facility, called Fisher-Paykel (super nice folks on the phone, but all good con-artists need a good front operation). It is now 6 weeks since my service call: Parts are still on backorder. THIS IS A SCAM MANUFACTURER. There is no excuse for a 6-week backorder in a day when I can order anything from China and have it on my doorstep within 3 days.As I write this, Lowes has me on permanent hold. So, my advice: DO NOT BUY FROM LOWES AND DO NOT BUY FISHER-PAYKEL PRODUCTS. The sad part is that no matter how nice or patient you are, you will not get any traction with Lowes or Fisher-Paykel unless and until you are prepared to file a Deceptive Trade Practices lawsuit.Fisher-Paykel is an insult to New Zealanders...they make products engineered to fail and engage in ongoing deceit on U.S. Consumers. Classic Deceptive Trade Practices by Fisher-Paykel. Texas consumers should avoid their products.

The Fisher Paykel dual drawer dishwasher is an excellent new example of high quality and performance in a kitchen dish washing appliance. The dual drawer is engineered wonderfully to provide multiple ways to perform, and perform it does! The two drawers provide flexibility beyond a normal/standard design. The loading capabilities are different yet provided with a lot of forethought given to providing space. It utilizes much more of the actual inside space of the two drawer/washers. Once you understand the loading capabilities of the provided inside racks and adjustment capabilities, the loading capabilities are creative and useful. Three simple buttons on the outside of each drawer provide easy execution of functions. The dual washers are extremely easy to start, stop or pause at any time, using the three simple buttons. The system has various wash cycles and times all easily accessed and executed by another single button conveniently located inside either drawers top edge. A small LED lit screen on each drawer face provides a moving icon that lets the user know have knowledge of what stage of a cycle the wash drawer is executing. The LED also shows the cycle time duration working backwards from a start time to the finish of the cycle. The Fisher Paykel system is very quiet working washer. Yes, you can hear some functions executing some times during the cycle, but it is very quiet overall. Most importantly, the Fisher Paykel Dual Washing system cleans and shines dishes, glassware and utensils with precision to a sparkling bright clean. This is especially true if the user does not allow large amounts of food to enter the system. Pre-rinsing is any dishwashers best friend! Use this kitchen appliance/tool correctly, and you will have a great dish washing experience with this product. By far, the Fisher Paykel Dual Dish Washing system is the highest quality, best working, and easy to use dish washing appliance I have ever had in any of my kitchens. I highly recommend the Fisher Paykel Dual Drawer Dish Washing Appliance/System for any kitchen.

Like the 100s of complaints I have just read about F&P clothes dryers mine is no different. Actually, compared to others Im feeling lucky that mine has lasted 6 years before a drum bearing has failed. My issue is two fold:1) After contacting customer service they were totally satisfied with six years and considered it a good run. I, however, am not satisfied with six years since my Maytag lasted 28 years and the only reason I gave it up was for styling reasons. I gave the dryer to a young married couple to use. It might still be running for all I know. F&P were more than happy to sell me, at full retail price, a bearing kit.2) After seeing the 100s of complaints and reading the companies stock response (which is not helpful at all), I am left wondering what the results were and how did the company satisfy the complaint.I have ordered the part from the company ($73.30 plus shipping) and hopefully this will solve my squeaking issue. I wished I had seen this complaint board before I purchased an F&P product. It really makes we wonder how F&P can stay in business.

I lost my home to a hurricane and decided to rethink refrigeration and dishwashers due to space. The appliance companies that my builder uses carries this brand but mentioned not many people have ordered them so they had no feedback. Searching the web, I found few brands that had “drawers” for refrigerators or dishwashers. So I ordered two drawer dishwashers and one integrated cool drawer from this company. Granted I have had them installed a month so I have had no product issues yet. But the integrated cool drawer indicated in the installation guide that there was a “false” panel for the bottom chassis of the unit (otherwise the bottom portion of the unit was exposes the compressor unit). The stainless steel drawer door was wonderful but then you see the compressor. My builder thought there should of been a stainless steel cover for the compressor. Me too. After three months of me initiating phone conversations, 4 different tech representatives, numerous emails (some said they had a cover to send me, some said they would check), I got ahold of Chana. I personally loved their Australian accents, but Chana’s tone of voice made it clear that even though she was told a black panel was available, she talked to her technical team again and there was no panel available. A false panel, as indicated in the installation guide, needs to be to the specifications of your cabinetry. It is to be built by the carpentry people and most builders understand that terminology. Even though the website isn’t clear and the installation guide isn’t clear that no panel is provided and you will need to build one, she became more frustrated with me when I asked if there were other solutions that her company could provide. Can I buy that black panel? Can we please double check the materials list to make sure there is nothing in there about an aftermarket piece? As an end user, not a builder or installer, false panels are not in my everyday vocabulary. Chana made me feel as though it should of been. My sadness about this situation is not about the fact that I have to go back to builder after three months to have more cabinetry work done but the fact that I had to keep following up for an answer over a three month period and I was talked to as if I should of known better. Like the title implies - I think the products are good just not their approach to treating customers after the fact. That is why they didn’t get a higher rating. The true test that differentiates a good company from a great one is how they treat the customer not only before the sale but afterwards.

I purchased a Dish Drawer dishwasher for a kitchen remodel in 2008. I was lured by the fact there are two (2) independent washer units; one on top of the other which allowed flexibility in cleaning as well as potential addition kitchen utensil storage. Troubles began within the first 90-days. I have summoned kitchen appliance repair companies listed as authorized by Fisher Paykel numerous times with the last service attendant indicating there are serious design flaws with the appliance. At this date the following had been experienced: The bottom dishwasher unit is completely non-functional, the touch wash controls in the operating unit do not work correctly; and now are stuck in one washer cycle. I was informed by one of the techs that came out there is a design flaw that allows water to seep into the controls. For $1,500 for a dishwasher I would have expected more. What is more alarming is the sales rep when I bought the appliance indicated the manufacturer also made kidney dialysis machines. If this is the case (and my research indicates this is true) there are numerous fatalities if the quality of the dialysis machines is the same as the Dish Drawer. Do not under any circumstances purchase anything this Company makes. The quality is terrible!!!

About 5 years ago we lost our house to a fire. We lost everything so had to purchase all new appliances. We purchased a 2-drawer dishwasher and fridge. After approx. 2 years the fridge quit and lost all our frozen content. To be fair the company paid for the repairs. Just recently the dishwasher keeps filling up with mold. Called a repairman and he said it would cost approx. 350.00 to repair the sensors which make the heat come on all the time-so the mold. Cant turn it off. Every time it is opened the heat comes on. The next day our fridge did the same thing as 2 years before..Again we again called Fisher Paykel on both occasion dishwasher and fridge. We were told that appliances have a 4-5 year life and the problem was ours. Both these appliances were very expensive and should have a longer life. I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THEM AGAIN NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer
Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer set from Lowes 3 1/2 years ago and have no complaints about the dryer. It is very efficient and dries quickly and thoroughly, but the washer is another story. I have had many garments to come out mangled. The detergent never seems to rinse completely, and over the last 6 months, the washer has only been spinning intermittently. Now, it is not draining or spinning and I am waiting days for a service call. After reading these reviews, I dont feel very hopeful for a quick or permanent resolution. The salesperson at Lowes touted the brand highly. When the repairman comes Monday, if he gives an expensive quote, I will be calling the scrap metal man to pick it up and will go buy another brand. Very disappointed as I paid over $500 for this machine. Never again. And I will tell all my friends.

I bought a new Fisher & Paykel (FP) washer and dryer at Lowes in April 2007. The washer worked well until December 2009. I had the same problem many others had, discharge pump leaked and shorts out the pump, and that in turn shorts out the control board for the washer. To their credit, after I called them, FP took care of the repair of the pump and the control board in December of 2009.Trouble is, it just happened again. A year and a half later the discharge pump and the control board are out again. I called FP and was told they would not fix it again. Well, me neither. Rather than pay $400 to fix it again, I am getting a new washing machine that is not Fisher & Paykel. While shopping at one of the big box stores, I was told by one of the appliance guys that they stopped selling FP washers for a time because of guess what? pump and control board problems.

I went to the appliance store to buy a washer and dryer and then I’ve seen Fisher & Paykel. Decided to buy and try it. When I went they didn’t have a washer at that time so I bought a different washer. When I had the washer and dryer together, we had them for 6-8 years and we never had any problem with them and I was very satisfied with it. If they had the washer at that time, I would have probably bought the washer also. Now I have the dryer and I just like the way it dries, the feature of it, the way it looks. It has the same steel drum.

Customer service is NON Existent. I have a F&P two drawer dishwasher. Generally speaking it is a good appliance, but if you need any parts, forget it. The agitator tends to wear out. It only costs about $100 to get a new one and it is dead easy to replace, BUT in my case F&P shipped the WRONG part under the right part number sticker, so the part didnt quite fit, or work. I engaged a professional, who took the very same part number out of her truck and put it in...and everything worked. Cost me an extra $300... but heres the thing. F&P said tough, we dont accept returns even if we made the mistake!... four times. And after talking to some appliance service people, this is apparently pretty common that what is in the box doesnt match the number printed on the box. So beware.

Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximate
Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximately 4 years ago. During the four years, weve had the lint scraper replaced two times. It has broken again. When the lint scraper breaks, all of the lint from your clothes ends up getting caught inside the mechanism of the dryer or pushed out the dryer vent. We typically know we have a problem when the clothes stop drying in a timely manner; little lint is in our lint trap and the dryer vent has visible lint blocking it from the exterior of the house. It is somewhat surprising this dryer has not caused a fire. Ive had enough of worrying about lint getting trapped in our dryer vent and/or our lint trap breaking. The lint trap works perfectly for a short time frame, but the design and materials are not nearly robust enough for the premium you pay for this product. There is absolutely no question, this is the absolute worst appliance or piece of equipment Ive every purchased. I would give the dryer 0 stars if that was an option.

Its a shame that all the people who have left complaints here, dont have a friend or family member thats a appliance tech, because the Fisher & Paykel washer & top load dryer are the best laundry set Ive ever owned. Fortunately for me that I have a brother who not only is a tech, but also worked for Fisher & Paykel, so he knows their products, inside and out. When I 1st got them and saw the tops were all plastic, I thought I was forced into the biggest mistake of my life. Because like many other people here, I got rid of my Maytag set that were still working after 30 years with very little service. Although Ive had some issues with the top load dryer, mainly the lint build-up behind the grill that he vacuums out once a month. Ive only had to replace a lint screen and bearings kit in the 6 years that Ive own it. Since I only had to pay for the parts and not for labor or service charge, my cost have been very minimal. As for the washer, the only problem is that when we do large loads it usually splashes water on to the basement floor. Since its only a concrete floor, its not a major issue. The only thing my brother can think why we are not experiencing the same problems with leaking pumps causing computer board to burn out is, we all bought our machines manufactured in New Zealand before they opened their Ohio, USA factory.Considering all the laundry my family does in a week, the Fisher & Paykel set has held up very well, so far. I know its largely in part because my brother is an appliance tech and not everyone is as fortunate. But Im very happy with them. The reverse- tumble dryer has cut down on my ironing, saving a great deal of time and energy.

Two-door, cabinet-depth fridge - This model probably saved me a $20,000 kitchen remodel. Our new house had a new refrigerator whose door would not clear a counter peninsula. My wife was ready to start tearing out counters, but the dealer took a return on the offending appliance and supplied us with a model that we can actually stand in front of... with the doors open. Beautiful but, as we say here in Minnesota spendy, this refrigerator was — and remains — a life and budget saver.

I like the fact that my F&P washer has less parts as a whole, save water due to its sensor technology and efficiency. The best part is it rids of water very well at the spin cycle and save me time in drying. However, in eight years of using the washer, I have to replace two water pumps, and two lids, and now the lid is cracked again. The product might have less parts to be broken down, but the broken parts are always the same ones, do not show this is a product of good quality! My friend’s husband is an engineer and told me they bought a Fisher & Paykel because her husband had done some research and said that they had the fewest moving parts of any washing machine. And fewer moving parts is a good thing. I needed a washing machine, so I bought one and that was four or five years ago, and I’m pleased with it. I just got the dryer in August and I already had to have a new heating element put in. I don’t know if it’s the dryer’s problem or if it’s my ductwork’s problem but the outside vent is getting clogged up and I never had that before. But that doesn’t seem like it could be the dryer’s problem and we haven’t figured out what it is because I don’t think there’s a lot of lint in the lint screen. And so I can’t understand how the lint can bypass the lint screen and go out the outside vent. They need to send a repairman. As far as how they look, they’re fine. In price, they’re all in the same ballpark. And as far as performance, I don’t know because I haven’t tried that many others. I used to be a Whirlpool customer and I had wonderful luck with Whirlpool. But then I bought an Amana washer and dryer in 2004 and I had to replace the washing machine with the Fisher & Paykel, and then I just replaced the dryer. The dryer issue hasn’t been resolved yet but we are quite pleased with our Fisher & Paykel washing machine.

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so
7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. WHO WOULD LOVE THIS FRIDGE People who: - Have more fresh food than frozen food - Don't need to store extra deep items (large pizza box, for example)* SEE UPDATES - Appreciate removable storage bins - Like sleek, simple, modern design - Want to maximize the storage of the inside of their fridge - Like good lighting - Want to be able to fill pitchers and other large containers from the door water dispenser - Want easy opening and closing doors - Want to be able to view everything in their fridge at a glance without needing to move things out of the way. We bought a first generation Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher when we had our condo built back in 2000. We replaced it with a new Fisher & Paykel unit since the one that we had had a lot of quirk things about it and they were becoming too much of a challenge for us to deal with. We chose this model because my husband and I are empty nesters and we liked the idea of having a smaller dishwasher to fill and run rather than having to put every dish we own over a course of two weeks into a single regular size dishwasher. Our favorite feature is its two drawers. One of them is a deeper drawer that can easily handle big plates and platters. Its very quiet. It is water efficient. Its very attractive to look at. Theres nothing about the dishwasher that to me represents either a negative or settling for something. Its just absolutely perfect for us in every way. We are extremely happy with the product.

My fridge became faulty and I called a Fisher & Paykel (F&P) technician. He recommended that I replace the fridge and gave me a voucher that entitled me to a Loyalty Bonus if I chose the same brand again. I did and submitted my claim for A $50 Gift Card which I was to receive within 48 days. When I did not receive it I contacted F&P who advised that they had already sent it, by ordinary mail. I requested F&P to send me another but they did not accept responsibility for the loss as the Gift Card had been redeemed by somebody. It was their decision (based on their internal policy) to send a Gift Card (which is just as good as Cash) by ordinary mail. Note that postage costs $1 for ordinary and $4.80 for registered mail. I am amazed that an established organization such as F&P acknowledges that they are aware of some issues in recent times where mail has been stolen out of mailboxes but continues to take risks with Gift Cards. They do so knowing very well that it will not be cost-effective for a customer to make a formal claim in a tribunal or court. So when mail gets stolen or lost F&P does not take any responsibility. I have decided that going forward I will not give F&P a single dollar in business because I do not deal with those who are more focused on playing the blame game. F&P may have saved $3.80 in postage but has lost a customer, bought themselves adverse publicity and jeopardised future sales. Good luck to them!

So I purchased a F&P Washer and dryer from a HORRIBLE scammer called Ralphs Appliance in Bartonsville, PA (DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE). I do not know what to do but I was told this was a High End brand, but its anything but! I could have purchased an old school Whirlpool and I wouldnt have this many issues. And the washer and dryer are only a few years old!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Thumbs down to F&P.

We bought a BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and on the 8th day, which is only the 3rd time we have used it, when it spin, the whole machine was shaking badly. So we called Fisher Paykel Customer Service and advised what happened. We took a video of the machine shaking. They scheduled us for a day for the repairman to check so my husband went off for work just to able to attend to the repairman. And then, he said, it defective and he requested with their Customer Service for it to be replaced...The second BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE arrives but when we tried it, it also shakes but not as bad as the first unit. My husband wanted to call Customer Service again. I told him, its not bad as the first unit so maybe its just normal, but the next time we used it, shaking was not good, so we took a video of it again just to show how the machine is again shaking. And not just that, we had these boxes of my boots at the side of the washing machine and its all wet and it just came to our knowledge that the BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE has a leak as well... What a quality. ;( So we called Customer Service and requested for another day to have a check on it, that was weekend. We requested if they can schedule us on the coming Monday for I am on leave from work but they said its all fully booked. They scheduled us on Wednesday same week 12-5pm.However, this is the 2nd time of this issue with this BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and its not that easy to ask from work for another half day or leave. So my husband clearly advised with the Customer Service that he will be available by 5pm and they said back theyll see. So on Wednesday, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will come on 5pm that day. The person I spoke to tells me that the technician will be finished working by 4:30pm in our area so 5pm is not possible. So I told her, is there any other option for we need someone to check the machine for it is not fair that we are paying a lot of money on this defective BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE.She throw the question back to me asking me what are other options I can think of. She told me shell ask the technician to call me 1hr before hell come. Just to put in perspective, she is quite nice lady, though. So I told her, I can use my lunch time to drive home just for this to be checked for I cant have another leave for I just had one. So she checked the technician schedule and said that we are scheduled for 12-1pm so it is fine that I can drive back home at lunch time so the technician can come at the scheduled time as what their system is saying. So I was thinking when she says that we are scheduled on 12-1pm, I just need to just go home and wait for the technician on the scheduled time.So I approached my Manager and advised that Ill be leaving but be back by 1sh. So when I arrived home around 12:10pm, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will be coming as what was scheduled, as what their system is showing. But the lady on the other line says a straight NO, YOU ARE 12-5PM, NOT 12-1PM. Which makes my blood went up to my head. I drive 35-45 minutes to come home and then you will tell me that technician will not see me as what Ive been advised on phone earlier? I was pretty mad, disappointed whatever you call it, that we bought this FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. The reason we bought a brand new is not to have a lot of drama, but we had more that we expected... Not really happy with the unit and with the Customer Service. I better refund the money for this unit and buy another Brand. THUMBS DOWN...

We were buying a washer and we bought a Speed Queen washer because I heard theyre the best. And in the place where I bought it, they had one of the Fisher & Paykel dryers right there that was marked down and I let the sales guy talk to me into it. It was a good deal. So far, I have no problems or issues. Performance is good.

GWL15 Washer - When my water pump went out, it dripped onto wiring for the computer panel, which in turn shorted it out causing me to have to buy a panel - also because of a design flaw of the machine. I really like my washer and dryer very much, but that problem did not make me very happy!

We have a GWL12 top-loading washer. I will start off by saying my wife and I love the washer and dryer we have, but we are not loving it so much these days. We have had the controller board go out for the third time and its getting very costly. I will say Fisher Paykel did step up to the plate on the first one, but the second was on me, and now I have yet another dead washer. I have been all up and down these forums and had seen nothing but bad reviews when it comes to these controller boards. These boards are $150 a pop. This last one only lasted 2 years. I had to go buy an older, used washer just to keep the washing going. But I still have hopes of fixing this washer one last time. Dont get me wrong, its a really good washer when its running. I have seen bad reviews on the GWL11 and GWL12 for this problem. I hope things are improving over there. These are too expensive of washers to break down like this. Sorry for the rant.

Fisher Paykel RF48SS - We purchased this $9000 refrigerator new in 2009. In late August the refrigerator portion of the side by side went to 50 degrees - started to make noise. I came to find out that the noise was from the fan hitting the iced up coils. We went to the Fisher Paykel site and decided to call the only factory authorized service company in Jacksonville Florida - Expert Appliance Repair Service, Orange Park FL. This was our second mistake, the first being not purchasing a Sub Zero or Monogram to begin with. Four service calls later and three months later the refrigerator portion of the side by side is still at 50 degrees. To date we have spent $560 while Experts personnel ineptly replaced first the damper then the main board attempting to solve our 50 degree refrigerator problem. Today (11/24/2014) was visit number four, with the replacement of the main board. As you may have already guessed, the refrigerator is still not working. The temperature is still at 50 degrees. I was charged $304.49 for the main control board, a part that is available from Samsungparts.com for $93.82. History:Called for appointment in late August. Told it would take ten days for them to schedule a call. 9/9/2014 service call (ticket **). Evaluated and it was determined that the DC Damper Assembly was bad and need to be replaced. This was determined by tech testing the unit and seeing no reading on the VOM. Charge for the call - $254.57. 9/17/2014 follow-up service call (ticket **). Determined to be a bad control board. 11/24/2014 - returned to replace the main control board (ticket **). Charge for call - $304.49. Temperature after 6 hours has not changed. Turned the unit off and then back on, no change. Im reviewing the troubleshooting instructions online. There is a test procedure to determine the point of failure for this specific problem, and at none of the four visits has this test procedure ever been performed. Recommend you stay with established brands as this has been a nightmare.

I purchased three F&P appliances in 2005 (double drawer dishwasher, a washer and dryer). All three of them have been a total waste of money, for each one has had problems which make them irreparable and problematic. When I purchased the F&K washer and dryer my main concern was the fact that both units were controlled by the electronic board. The salesman replied that this should be one of the significant advantages due to the fact that if something went wrong with the washer or dryer they simply send out a replacement electronic board for about $75. All I would have to do is unplug the old one and plug in the new one. How far from the truth that was. They never mentioned that the only repair service company was one person in the entire Houston, Texas market that ended up knowing less about the product than me. And besides, they charge you $75-$85 just to come out and diagnose the problem. After doing so with the washer, they said that it was the electronic board and they would have to order. When the board came in they replaced it. It still did not work and they said the entire motor would have to be replaced at a cost that far exceeded purchasing a new washer. Needless to say, I was smart enough to send the new F&K packing to my backyard graveyard only to replace it with the very old Maytag washer which I had taken out just due to its poor visual appeal. Boy have I learned. I would much rather have a dingy, slightly dented beige workhorse of a washer as in my Maytag, which is older than me, than this new updated F&P laughing stock of an appliance. Let me say if I was the F&P Marketing Director and I saw comments as numerous and detailed as the ones I saw on this site, I would set out to make things right with these customers. Secondly, my F&P dryer just all of a sudden stopped heating. So I decided to look at this website prior to calling the no-use of a repair service that F&P has accredited with the worthiness to repair its appliances. Well, I only wish that I had found this website prior to my purchasing these F&P products. What worthless pieces of useless technology. I think the woman early put the entire frustration into place when she said her mother used an old tub and ringer system and at least at the end of the day she was relaxed. I have to agree wholeheartedly. I think I am going back to washing in a tub and ringer and then putting them out to dry on the line if this is the best consumers can expect. Now I know why my mom only purchases Kenmore. She said they were totally reliable and that Sears always stands behind their product. Since having to do my laundry there now for the last year due to my unsuccessful purchase, I think I have to finally give in to my mom that said, I told you so!The last appliance (and thank God someone talked me out of the refrigerator or I would be writing in about 4 instead of 3 appliances) is the double drawer dishwasher. Now, how a service repairman can tell me that the reason the top drawer tends to stop after 20 minutes of washing and start beeping like it is off balance is due to operator error I do not understand. On top of which he said it can be attributed to the dishwashing detergent selected. Now, I am a Cascade man and that is the only detergent I have ever used since learning early on during my college years that nothing works better. And thank God because when the dishwasher finally makes it through the washing cycle at least I know they will be sparkly! Not necessarily clean because this dishwasher has to be the worst at cleaning dishes. I installed a cheap GE Dishwasher in my butler’s pantry, which I now find myself hauling dishes from the Kitchen to the butler’s pantry to avoid using the F&P because the cheap GE washes faster, better and quicker than the F&P ever did or would ever be able to do in the future. It seems that after starting the dishwasher, which was installed in a newly renovated 100-year old historic house that is on pier and beam, it seems to stop and start beeping each time you walk into the kitchen during its cycle. It starts immediately and begins washing again after opening and shutting the drawer and hitting. I mean, I waste more time opening and closing the drawer to ensure that my dishes are clean than I would if I simply washed them by hand. So from my experiences, that is enough. Being taught from a young age that three strikes equal an out, F&K that was the last pitch and you are out!

I purchased the EcoSmart washing machine from Sears 2.5 years ago. The water pump/drain malfunctioned causing the electronics to short out. After consulting with a repairman, I was informed that the pump will be $200 plus $160 for the electronic portion, add another $50 for taxes and shipping and at least $100 for labor. Of course, the warranty is no longer applicable and apparently this problem is very consistent with other users. After reading the other reviews, I realize how bad this situation is quickly becoming.

Love Fisher Paykel, except have gone through 2 dishwashers, a wrecked wood floor from leaks. Now excessive noise and maybe something else as well. My Kitchenaid, very old, used by people other than me, in a summer home. No repairs ever. Miele in another house very good, no repairs in 20 years.

I saw Fisher & Paykel advertised on television. We didnt actually go looking for that make at the time. It was just one that wed come across. It was about what we were after, on sale. But we had looked at them before up in London. We purchased a refrigerator. It didnt start out very good. When we bought it, they showed us a small pinhole dent in the front door which we thought was fine, and theyd reduced the price. When it arrived here, it seemed to have a couple of dents that we hadnt seen before in it. We dont know whether wed missed them or they happened when they were bringing them down. But they brought it in and the controls wouldnt work. It would work as a refrigerator but you couldnt control anything. So we complained to the place where we bought it, and they werent allowed to service it for the first year. We had to get some service people out of St. Thomas. They were good, checked it out, and it wouldnt work. They had to order a new front panel control unit and it took about 2 or 3 weeks. They got it here, plugged it in, and it has worked fine since. The appliance is good once it was operational but the place where we bought it, we wouldnt set foot in the door again because we didnt get very good service.

When I remodeled my kitchen almost 10 years ago, I loved the look of the Fisher Paykel double drawer dishwasher with the matching panels to my new cabinets. However, today it is unplugged and Im debating whether to repair or replace. Seems to have many electrical problems and a mind of its own. Fisher Paykel has replaced almost every part of the unit and repairs are costly. The last repair lasted less than a year. I live alone and ran the dishwasher once a week preferring to wash a few dishes by hand. The unit runs great and I love it when its working (last week). But, now if I plug it in, both units start up by themselves and beep. I keep turning them off and they restart! So, it sits unplugged til I make a decision on my next dishwasher. Too bad... it looks great.

We got the two-drawer dishwasher from Fisher & Paykel. Our other unit died and this is the first time we’re purchasing from them. My favorite feature on the unit is it having 2 drawers. Were an older couple and I have one drawer of dishes a day which is perfect. If you have smelly fish dishes or something you want them to be done straight away. And it works very well for us. Im absolutely delighted with it. It works beautifully and its extremely quiet. And of course its a good Kiwi product. My wife is Kiwi, which is good. What else can I say?
