We recently purchased a Thermador oven and paid over $10k for it. It has been cooking very unevenly - undercooked on one side, burnt on the other. The burners also function unevenly. The process of getting it serviced has been a nightmare. Thermador, through Bosch, has been unresponsive, inflexible, and unwilling to resolve quickly. Weve had three service calls and the oven has gotten worse. Charles ** is our rep at Bosch and had been ineffective, and Ferguson appliances in Dallas was the showroom and has been unresponsive. Terrible, I would never recommend this to anyone.

$14k oven external temp gauge broke a few weeks after short warranty. After multiple phone calls the company agreed to fix it. They replaced the whole computer panel. However, this was NOT the problem and the temp gauge was still broken. They argued this was not the original issue I called in about (it was). I even have the pictures I took when I initially called them that highlighted the broken temp gauge. Now they want to charge me $500 for the repair. I absolutely hate them. Will go back to less expensive appliances in the future or companies that back their products and services. Thermador was a HUGE waste of money.

I purchased a complete kitchen, stove, double oven, refrigerator, wine cooler, beer fridge and dishwasher 2 years ago, close to $ 40,000. I wish I never did it, this company is a complete joke: Beer fridge never worked properly from the 2nd month, hasnt been on at all in last 6 months, customer service is non-existent, thats the kindest way I can state it. They tell me every month or so to unplug it and let it re set (pull the brand new fridge out of the cabinet and unplug it!!) Horrible. Regular fridge had ice problems in freezer from day 1 and water condensation issues in fridge. No solution offered by their service dept, they tell me its sophisticated software and has to be allowed to work these problems out over time!!Cant use double oven, it actually works but it loudly blows hot air into kitchen raising house temp 5 degrees. So you cant use it and entertain in the kitchen at the same time. Cant stress enough for the same money or less, try the other big brands, this one you will definitely regret. They will not help you with the repair, they take your call, tell you someone will contact you, no one does, then they get agitated with you when you follow up. It pretty amazing, cant believe there isnt more negative comments about the product quality and service.

We spent $20,000 on Thermador appliances in Aug. 2015, and our $8000.00 freezer continuously fails to produce ice or when it does the entire bin freezes into a solid block. Weve had the ice maker replaced once already and this one has stopped as well. Now only 7 months old we are informed that we will have to buy a replacement filter for $50.00 for it every 6 months!!! (And no doubt will have to pay an exorbitant service charge every time once the warranty runs out.) We bought a used Kitchen Aid for $200.00 twenty three years ago to use in our basement and have never had to spend an additional cent on it!!! I will never buy another Thermador appliance.

Spent over $27,125.00 on Thermador appliances. 48 range knobs were very loose and oven temp was not working. It was on 350 but the oven would only slightly warm. Got a new thermostat knob yet the oven does not heat up accurately. Smaller oven to this day still does not work properly. Bake means broil!! We can never get a correct temp. And for the first 5 mins it broils no matter what temp you are on. Fridge/freezer side by side was delivered with broken wheels. Ice machine has broken twice - Went months without ice. Drawers have broken. Now our dishwasher on the outside panel has RUSTED. How does stainless steel rust? The whole front is brown. We sent pics in and complained. Oh but you only have 30 days on cosmetics. Buy this cleaner... Customer Service is disgraceful. They dont care at all - I want a Thermador sales rep in my house NOW! Shame on you Thermador. You have no customer service loyalty. You took my money and wont help anyone by the looks of things, not just me. Be warned. Dont buy Thermador, I am sick over this...

We are in the middle of installing a new kitchen with all new Thermador appliances. We bought Miele for the dishwasher instead of the free Thermador. At this point, we wish we went all Miele for everything and here is why. Nothing has been used yet since we are awaiting countertops and water but we have electricity to the appliances. Right out of the box, one of the Thermador ovens has a defective main circuit board. The drawer microwave has a defective control panel. What is Thermadors response? Call a repair shop. Which we did, waited a week, tech shows up and yup its defective. Now we are waiting 4 weeks for the parts and then a week later, maybe they will repair our brand-new, never used, just installed Thermador appliances.Thermador is a brand name owned and managed by the same folks that make Bosch which is sold at Home Depot, etc. Thermador has splashy ads in high-end magazines, etc. but it is all hype. The product quality and service is abysmal. We were flabbergasted that Thermador would not let our kitchen designer/dealer replace the defective units. If you are considering premium appliances we would recommend Miele. Check out the information online before you buy. Miele is a private, family-owned company that is uncompromising in their focus on quality. They cost more than Thermador but they are worth it. We have three Miele dishwashers at other properties. Previously, we had a Thermador cooktop downdraft that the blower motor died after two years.

I purchased a high-end Thermador built in double oven. In total, this appliance was used less than 60 times. The oven would shut off and start beeping-- you would have to turn off main breaker and cross your fingers to restart it. I have had numerous people try to fix it-- to no avail. We live on Maui and the nobody wants to work on Thermadors or our piece of junk Viking refrigerator. We will save our money and buy our appliances at Sears or Lowes. Save your money.

Thermador CM302 - We loved this oven for 10 years, then it started beeping for no reason and shutting down. We replaced the control panel twice because it was overheating and burning out due to a design flaw in this oven. We figured out that the cooling fan controls were not programmed to stay on after the oven turned off so the hot oven was burning out the adjacent panel. We tried limping along for a few years by turning the oven on to 100 degrees with the cook timer set to turn off in two hours in order to help the oven cool. This worked for awhile until we needed to heat both ovens above 400 for Thanksgiving. The oven died completely with fifteen guests waiting for turkey. I give thanks that my BBQ wasnt made by Thermador, which has been extremely useless, not even willing to pay for a service call in the event that the repair person was unable to fix the oven. This is an irresponsible company. Once you are out of warranty they do not stand behind their appliances, even if the problem is a design flaw. We will be buying our next oven elsewhere.

I purchased a complete set of Thermador appliances, double oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and refrigerator three years ago for my kitchen remodel. Every appliance has stopped working at least once. This Thanksgiving 2011, while cooking dinner for 25 family members, the ovens went out again. The oven and refrigerator has quit three times. They were repaired once under warranty and I have paid over 1600.00 for the other repairs. This stuff is junk. The service hotline was unhelpful and kept giving me service companies that would not work on their product anymore. I will never recommend or purchase anything from this manufacturer again.

We have purchased a full range of new Thermador appliances from Howard’s. We were instructed to make full payment for everything in July to ensure we get all our appliances in time for installation by end August. We are still waiting for our oven and microwave which we are told is on backorder for end October. They blame it on Thermador slow production. Why take our money if they can’t deliver? Calling Thermador to complain is the most horrific experience to go through. They keep you on hold for more than an hour and then cut you off. Twice!!! We have made a terrible mistake going with this brand, I can just imagine how their after sales experience is going to be if this is still pre-installation?!

Since Thanksgiving Eve our 7 year old wall oven SDC302ZS has been showing error codes and dying at all the inopportune times. I dont use the oven all that frequently, maybe twice a week, so its very disappointing to think it may be dying after 7 years of light usage. When it was working in the past, I was very satisfied with its options and convection performances. I would like to ask Michael who wrote a Dec. 24, 2014 review, where he purchased the electronic part that failed, since his description of what failed on his oven sounds exactly like what were going through. I cant afford a $500 repair bill for a $5 part, but think my handyman could handle the repair if I provide the part.

As with others, we spent a lot of money on this over/under oven. Looks nice but the internal design is awful. Its been 4 years now and we have had to replace the control boards 3 times already... and it died again a week ago. There is NO support for Thermador appliances in the Dallas area. Parts cost as much as the original unit almost if you can find them. I have replaced the faulty boards 3 times so far, but Im too tired to deal with this anymore. The analog & digital boards run about $600... 3 sets are enough for a new oven. Its a giant rip-off. Where is the quality design & service... missing totally. Were going to purchase a new oven now and it wont be Thermador. In 50 years, I have never experienced such poor design and support. I cant believe Thermador is still in business!

I purchased a $6250 (current retail price) 30 inch freezer column in 2009 when we built our home. 18 months after installation, the ice maker ceased working. No warranty. The freezer failed to cool 6 weeks ago. The part necessary to rectify the problem was also not covered -- just like the ice maker. We opted not to replace the ice maker, which would have resulted in a $700 charge and we paid approximately $350 to repair the current issue. It is unacceptable, and really borders on criminal, to incur these types of failures on a unit this new at a high end price point. I have an old GE fridge/freezer in the garage that was only several hundred dollars that is still working after 25 years. Shame on Thermador. I have several other Thermador appliances that are suboptimal. The Bosch washer died last Christmas after six service calls. Dont purchase Thermador or Bosch. You will be sorry!

Our 12-year-old daughter pushed the preheat button on the display panel of our Thermador oven, after which the entire front pane of glass in the top oven completely shattered into tiny little pieces (several fell on her but luckily she was not hurt). We called Thermador and they will pay for a diagnosis from a local repair company, then let us know further once they receive the diagnosis report. From what I know about glass, it seems to have a malfunction from the tempering process when it was made, so it should be covered completely by them for being defective...guess well see...

I am the not so proud owner of a Thermador 302 series double wall oven with a malfunctioning right side door hinge and hinge receiver. Thermador no longer manufactures the parts and refused to assist me in locating them. The parts are difficult to find because the same parts are made for different companies using different part numbers and they are not returnable, so if you buy the wrong part youre stuck with it. In my case, the parts amount to about $400 (for stamped metal pieces) and Im neither willing nor able to take that risk. The oven is only 10 years old, which according to Thermadors customer support (or lack thereof) is beyond its life expectancy, and absolves them of any responsibility to support their product. They dont even have a technical support department, who could have told me not to bother spending $100 on a service call because the parts are no longer available. So there you have it folks, if you want a $2,000.00 metal planter, then go with Thermador. Otherwise STAY AWAY! DO NOT BUY THERMADOR PRODUCTS, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

We have had the main board replaced twice, fan switches, heating elements, and a variety of other things. We have not been able to cook one holiday meal in the oven, we have had to resort to the BBQ and the toaster. It looks like this year is the same, code 43 is blinking which means I need to spend another 700$ on the oven. Thermador has been terrible to deal with, they really dont care. This time I am not spending the money to repair it. I am throwing this thing in the trash and getting a different brand. This is a terrible product made by a horrible company with third rate engineers and an insensitive work force. The only way to sop it was to literally pull the electric switch to the oven on the outside of the house. It looks a lot more expensive than it actually was and it matches my other appliances, and looks awesome in my kitchen. The size of the range is perfect. New home and 25k worth of brand new Thermador appliances. Dishwasher has not worked since day one. We have had three service calls, parts replaced, and it still doesn’t clean. Various excuses from Thermador. At one point they said, Don’t wash the crud off your dishes before you put them in... It works better on dirty dishes. The reason we wash them off before putting them in is because it doesn’t work. They have refused to replace. We have escalated to management - a lady who claimed her name was Vanessa said there was nothing they could do as the last Thermador technician couldn’t find anything wrong. That technician never put dirty dishes in it and ran a cycle. He simply didn’t see any error codes. We have owned 3 other dishwashers the last 18 years in three different houses. All of them have been Whirlpool and we have never had one problem. Won’t be buying any more Thermador appliances of any kind because if they don’t work... They won’t stand behind them. More money for the Thermador brand does not buy you better customer service and support. We are paying half of what we paid for this 6 month old brand new Thermador that has never cleaned a load of dishes for another Whirlpool. Thermador is pathetic.

The trick is they will offer you money towards sliding into a new fridge--where you will continue to be captive to them. The new unit of what I own now costs $15,000. I made a service appointment THREE WEEKS ago for Monday, October 25, 2021, and was told I couldnt get one sooner because Thermador doesnt have workers. When I called Friday before to see why they had not told me a time, they said I had cancelled the appointment. (I had not). When I complained, the Thermador rep disconnected me. Thermador - This double oven has been used about 400 times. The upper oven has been used once. The oven fan is so loud you have to talk loudly above it. Good luck in an open kitchen like I have. My 2 friends have this oven and dont have the noise. Thermador told me (under warranty) when they came out that it was just loud. Too bad. They didnt do a thing. I never would have bought the oven. The display light has gone out now. No problem, just the electronic display board. $500.00 to fix an oven I hate. $100 for Thermador to come out, but you get 18 minutes. Hurray. Then $120 an hour. The board is $350 to see the temperature in your oven. Completely ridiculous for a consumer to buy an oven and have these issues. The second repair involved replacing the door on the dispensers, as well as the optical sensors, with no change in results. Recently, the part needed replacing and I used Thermadors official repair company, booked on the Thermador website. The initial estimate was $646.00, dismayed but determined to repair it (after careful consideration of replacement cost), I forged on. I have purchased a dishwasher, range, range hood, and refrigerator. Ive had these appliances for about 1 month. Delivery: Three dishwashers were delivered to my home as each was damaged.Reliability: The refrigerator just flat out stopped working within 3/4 weeks. Service in my area is hard to find in my area. The appliance service from the purchaser was supposed to be wonderful, however, not so much for Thermador. Its been almost 2 weeks now, no fridge and Thanksgiving is in 5 days. Very frustrated with no callbacks and having to chase service provider. Breakage: The range door, upon moving into place, simply came off. Im unsure the motive to have it work this way, please beware. I do wish that my experiences were better, they are beautiful, however having appliances that are ready to install when delivered and in working order is much more important. Good luck.

I purchased a $1,700 Thermador Dishwasher and it has stopped working after 1 1/2 years. Labor rates quoted for repair is $99 for twenty minutes and $12.00 for each additional 12 minutes, basically $179 per hour. Also, I purchased a Thermador $6K range and have had to have service on it twice in 1 1/2 years. Thank goodness we purchased a five-year warranty. Never will I purchase another Thermador product.

Our home came w/a Thermador three piece microwave, warming drawer, and wall oven. The home is now 10 years old and the microwave has stopped working on the three piece unit. I was shocked to learn that you have to replace the entire unit for nearly $6,000 because they no longer make replacement parts. The rep on the phone was nice but explained that in order to keep up w/ technology they dont make replacement parts for things like microwaves. I guess when you buy a Thermador you should remember that it is unlikely you will get replacement parts and if you buy a three piece unit you will need to replace the entire thing if one component breaks. The rep seemed surprised that I would be upset about this... I guess they really only expect their products to last up to 10 years. That isnt very long for such an expensive high-end product. No more Thermadors for me or the new home I am building. Will call the appliance store and change my order stat!

I remodeled my kitchen in July 2015. I was so excited when my Thermador Range arrived and was put into place. My daughter and I couldnt wait to use it! She started by baking cookies. She is an amazing baker. The cookies she baked in the Thermador came out very different. They were done on the outside and raw on the inside. Same thing every time she baked after that. She really thought she was losing her touch. Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I had 8 people coming for dinner. I couldnt wait to show off my new range! I put the Turkey in the oven at 11:30 on 325. At 5:30 it looked done on the outside but was raw on the inside. It was thoroughly thawed when I put it in the oven. As a matter of fact everything took twice as long to cook as it should have. After everyone went home and I was cleaning the kitchen I decided to put the self cleaning on. About 20 minutes later there was a big crash and shattered glass all over my kitchen floor!! The interior glass exploded!! I was so scared and in such shock! I started researching and realized there are so many problems with Thermador! I dont want to fix it. I just want it out of my house. I contacted an attorney and Im hoping I can give it back. I called the appliance place I bought it from and asked them to take it back. I told customer service I would purchase a Wolf and pay the difference. She laughed and said What are we supposed to do with the Thermador? Why Thermador is still in business I dont understand! I will never make a big purchase again without seeing the reviews first. I hope this saves someone else from making the big mistake I did.

I too have a Thermador hood range PSE36US which we purchased in 2005. I also spent an additional $650 for the powerful blower to go along with the hood. I bought this product, thinking I was making a permanent purchase to install into my custom kitchen. I was sadly wrong. The buttons quit working for the lights along with some of the speed buttons for the fan. Then the housing that contained the circuit board with the buttons broke. The local appliance parts store I use told me that Thermador was the absolute worst company for parts, and in many cases, he refuses to deal with them because of their customer service. After some ordeal, I finally got to order both of these items. The circuit board was shipped and the housing is on backorder. Its going on three months, and all I can get is that the part is on backorder with no due date for the housing. I even wrote to the headquarters company in France with no response. Im going to have to somehow jerry rig the housing in order to close the filtering area. My advice to potential purchasers is to do your homework and research the company you are about to do business with. This will, no doubt, be the last Thermador product I will ever own. Dont be fooled by how pretty the product looks if you want something that can last. Its all about longevity, repair and service.

Our Thermador range needed parts and now we are finding out Thermador does not keep parts past 7 years. Apparently they dont expect their products to last more than 7 years or they just force their customers to have to buy another expensive item to replace it. Thermador should be ashamed of themselves and customers need to seriously think about purchasing a product they can not service after 7 years! We learned the hard way and now have to reinvest $12,000 for a range!

We have a Duel Fuel Thermador range. We bought it about 4 years ago. But due to construction, we have only been using it for a little over three years. At a minimum, we have replaced two circuit boards, two fan motors in the hood and most recently the boiler coil has caught on fire and appears to have partially melted. My three-year old was standing next to the oven. If I had not been in the kitchen to turn it off and pulled her away, it could have been a disaster. I have called and asked for this unit to be removed from my home.

Dont buy Thermador ranges. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND A LOT OF IT. Weve had the ProGrand garbage for 1 year. Excluding previous problems, the most recent is the oven lights no longer function. Called Thermador for assistance. They stated that while still under warranty, the oven bulbs (2 of them) are a routine consumer maintenance issue and a tech would not be assigned. So, I spent $40 for a bulb. Despite I specified that no lights function in the oven, Thermador sent me only 1 light. With much difficulty, I replaced the defective bulb in the lower right of the oven. Powered the oven back up, AND NOTHING. Removed the new bulb and placed it into the upper left socket. After powering back up, AND NOTHING.Frankly, Ive never had to replace an oven bulb in a 10 year old oven, you know, the far cheaper commonly found brand names of Kenmore, Amana, Frigidaire or other LOW END ovens. But for $10,000 you can buy a Pro Grand and have all kinds of fun calling for support, technicians, and an oven that is pure, bonafide garbage. Get this, in preheating mode, the oven will on occasion never reach set point. Rebooting the power supply seems to help. The racks are a dream too. They are extremely difficult to interchange to a new height setting. And they DONT CARE.On a prior occasion speaking with Thermador support, I asked if I could convey my dissatisfaction with their quality group. Specifically, they have some serious quality control issues. I was told that was not possible. This oven, and the lack of Thermadors concern is all the reason a consumer needs to know that this product is garbage and very expensive at that, relatively to conventional offerings. STAY AWAY, DONT BUY A THERMADOR OVEN.

Purchased a stove, dishwasher and refrigerator a few years ago for my principal residence. Do they look nice? Sure. It stops there. For my rental properties, they are too expensive to justify so I went with GE Profile. So far, all of my calls have been to repair the three Thermador products. No calls for the GE Profiles. Whats wrong with this picture???? Limited Warranty is for two years and most issues are after the two-year period. To top it off, Thermadors are only serviced by a few service companies who have you over a barrel. My advice would be to stay away from their products.

Purchased new for $7500 and has been nothing but a nightmare since. Bake element blew up 3 days after delivery. Control board shorted out 2 weeks after that. All of those 2 problems were manufactures warranted. Bake element has consistently burned out at least once every year since. All costing $128.00 each time. Less than 5 months ago the 2 fuses blew along with the bake element and the control board. That cost over $1200. Turned on the oven yesterday and the bake element blew up again with a loud electrical shorting noise. This time, the back side of the range caught on fire. I have burn damage to my hardwood flooring and wet plaster wall behind the stove. If I had been some regular consumer that did not have the knowledge on how to kill the power to the stove, it would have burned my house down. The stove is now a total loss. All of the wiring has burned up, along with considerable smoke damage to my home. I am thoroughly disgusted with Thermador. I plan to take civil action against Bosch, and file a class action lawsuit. This is a problem that has the potential to kill someone. Bosch and Thermador are fully aware of the problem and have chose to ignore it for many years. They will no longer ignore me. Please feel to free to respond to my posting if you desire to join the class action lawsuit.

This 48 Range #PRD48JDGU has been giving me problems since I purchased it. At two months old the small oven went out. Then the control panel needed to be replaced. Then right front burner had to be replaced. Next Left front burner had to be replaced. Now the small oven fan wont turn off, and door will lock and unlock. I had to turn off entire unit. For fear that its going to cause a fire. Customer Service is a joke. They put you on hold forever. I really believed in this company. But I guess because they have been around 100 years. They really dont care about the customer. As long as they are getting paid.

My brand new $4000 Thermador double oven does not operate; I must flip my homes electrical breaker to turn it off; and I have waited 20 days to have it repaired or replaced. It is noon on December 23, 2016 and both the Thermador customer service line and the Bosch Home offices are closed. The product does not function; the repair person they sent was not helpful and wants me to wait until January 3, 2017 for a repair, and I cannot talk to anyone but an after hours messaging center about my non-functioning oven a day before Christmas. On December 3, 2016, my family tried to use its new Thermador double oven (Model ME302JS/04) and received an error code (118). We called to the customer service line for help and they failed to send a technician. We called again, but could not get a technician until December 23. When the technician came, he did not have the necessary parts - despite contacting the company weeks earlier and giving them the exact error code for the problem. The next available repair slot is January 3, 2017. The product does not fulfill the warranty of merchantability, fitness, or any general warranties; the customer service is ineffective; and the Bosch-employed repair organization is slow, unprepared, disorganized, and unhelpful. This company has no sense of urgency about a major household investment.

There was a problem since day 1, they sent me technician after technician after technician and still I cant cook for my family. The range never worked correctly and each technician has changed parts and still nothing. My extended warranty only has 1 company that can service a Thermador appliance and they cant fix it. What is the use to buy something thats supposed to be top of the line if it doesnt work and there isnt a lot of repair companies that are Certified to fix it - because its a top of the line appliance.Dont buy Thermador!!! My neighbor has a cheap range and is always cooking... I didnt read reviews before I purchased my range, I thought I was buying the best of the best. Hopefully my review will save another family from the hell Ive been through.

We spent a lot of money on a 6-burner, double oven range about $5,000, 15 years ago. One of the burners doesnt work and the oven on indicator light will not go off. When we called for service, we were told that parts would be difficult to find. The technician will charge $100 to come out and tell us that there arent any parts for this appliance because it is so old. Really, the customer service rep (and supervisor) think that this is completely acceptable since the lifetime of the appliance is about 14 years. Why pay so much money for something that will be replaced in that period of time? I have a Maytag washing machine that is 25 years old and the couple of times it needed repairs, I was never told that its so old, parts may not be available. Im writing to advise people that you may as well go with a cheaper brand that supports their product rather than a Thermador that considers their own brand disposable. Service is a disgrace. Save your money.

I bought a $4000 professional 36 oven/stove. The power outage just fried the circuit board. This was the only time a power outage has ever damaged anything we own. Their response was to call service department if power cycling for 15 minutes doesnt do anything. Then to talk to the power company about fixing the issue with power (like they can control weather). The part was probably $400 and the repair was for another $120-240. It could happen any time when there is a power outage.

I just bought Thermador appliances (Refrigerator, Stovetop, Microwave Oven, Dishwasher, Exhaust fan for stovetop) from Best Buy and they delivered the appliances on Feb 06, 2016 for my newly refurbished kitchen. When they delivered the appliances to my house and I opened the boxes, I noticed the Refrigerator had a dent on the door and the Microwave Oven had permanent marker markings on the sides of the appliance. The Stovetop that was installed started making noises the first day it was installed. Every time I turn the stove on, there is a ticking noise that does not go away and stays on until I turn off the stove. All five burners make this noise. Along with the ticking noise, the stainless steel stove turned dirty yellow upon first use. If I cook anything for 5 minutes, the cooktop turns gets a dirty yellow stain which does not go away. I complained to Best Buy, however, no one helped me. I used a normal sized pan to cook my food and the entire stovetop around that burner turned dirty yellow! The color does not come off! Since I noticed all these problems I called Best Buy that I want to return the appliances because they are horrible quality and also I received damaged goods upon receiving the appliances whereas I paid for brand new items. I spend about $10,000 dollars on these appliances. I called Best Buy again on the 10th day of my purchase and said I want to return the appliances. I talked to several people from Best Buy, Sam, Stan, Richard, & Jason and they kept putting me on hold but no one was able to help me still. Eventually, they said they would call me back and no one ever did. Finally, after five days of continuously trying to contact Best Buy, I finally got to the manager and he said it has been more than 14 days to return the appliances because the 14 days return policy had been over. Just to mention, upon purchase, no one had told me there was a 14-day return policy. However, I was trying to reach Best Buy since day 10 and they kept pushing me off. Now I am stuck with appliances I don’t want because they came damaged upon arrival. Best buy manager said that he can change the refrigerator door but I do not want it anymore. I am trying to get in touch with Thermador but no one is able to help me. I am extremely upset! My Sales Number is ** and **. I need someone from Thermador to contact me so I can get things cleared up and I want to return the appliances back as soon as possible. Some of the appliances seem like they may have been previously used and returned by other people. I really appreciate the corporate office if they take notice of the used items and help me. I have not used any of the appliances besides the cooktop; the rest are still sitting there waiting to be installed. Can someone please help me for God sake?

When choosing a built-in refrigerator, we considered the Sub-Zero and Thermador. We went with the Thermador because the design was similar to Sub-Zero and it was less expensive. I find the Thermador terribly noisy. In the kitchen, I feel like I am in a giant fish tank and turn on music as often as possible to drown out the sound. Its been a huge quality of life downgrade. I contacted Setzers (who I bought the equipment from here in Jacksonville FL) who contacted the repair center. This was in Mid February, and after several emails and calls it is now Mid May and still nothing! I also call Thermador who really didnt seem to care that their equipment is falling apart. Thermador SC302T Double built-in ovens. - There have to be the worst appliances for parts availability, reliability and service. You pay Cadillac prices and end up with Yugo reliability. Although the oven is now 12 years old, during this time, it has been nothing but trouble. After the first year, the display started to fade until it was gone. Clearly, someone decided to save 1/10 of a cent per oven by using poor tolerance capacitors in a hot environment. Hey, they made an extra cent, and the customer had to pay 125 dollars for the part and a couple of hundred for a service call. Fast forward two years, same story. The second unit died a couple of years later. By this time, there were no replacements, so I sat with a dark screen for a couple of years. Some time, Thermador changed hands and BSH started making the displays, AND control panel as a unit for 450 dollars. The upper oven temperature was failing, due to the temperature control module. I purchased the board and control, and made the replacement myself. Im sure that in another 2 years, it will need to be replaced again by which time I suspect the parts will be obsolete and unavailable.

Been having trouble with my Thermador PRL304EG ever since I have had it since 2006. Main electronic board after board, repair man cant put the finger on the issue. Maybe if parts were not made in China... They could make better ranges. Oven stops heating, or decides what it wants to do. I got a lemon in Thermador, or did I?? Probably all then same little cheap ranges... wont put their pants on and just replace unit. Repair cost for a Thermador is like 600.00 to $1000 a year (at least 2 services a year). If you want my advice, stay away from Thermador, because they sure do! Run Thermador run. Range should be giving me repair codes, but never in 10 years did it give any codes, not even once.

I purchased a 48 steam/range in 2013. I have experienced trouble with the gasket around the steam oven. While it was under warranty it was repaired several times. Each time within a short amount of time the rubber gasket came loose. Now they will not stand behind it. Earlier this year, they agreed to pay for the part but not the labor to install it. They know this is an issue. I went to Pacific Sales and looked at the new like range and the new unused one already had a loose gasket. This is very disappointing as I have close to $16,000 into the cost of this range. I am very surprised that there is no class action lawsuit regarding this problem. As I see it the oven is stainless steel and the gasket is rubber of some sort and there is no way of adhering the two together. I would not recommend this steam/oven combo!

I installed a 5 burner Thermador luxury optioned gas cooktop around 24 months ago. After repeated expensive repairs, scary operating issues and very poor customer support as so many here already reported, this cooktop was slightly modified and plopped into our outdoor poolside entertaining area. At least it couldnt burn anything serious down to the ground out there. Like our house.. The burner ignition problems started after a few months. Followed all the advice in the manuals and from Thermadope call center zombies; tried to arrange service calls, different techs came out several times over the ensuing months and replaced ignition modules and other parts. The appliance just kept failing to operate. After enough frustration, I bought a cheap Chinese gas cooktop that had great reviews and swapped the Thermador clunker out. No problems with cheapo cooktop at all. Ever. Before I chucked the Thermador luxury boat-anchor into the recyling bin, I thought, what the hell, I’ll try to repurpose it. First thing I did was measure the temperature inside the cooktop while a couple of burners were on for about 20 minutes. Incredibly, it was running over 150°C inside where the electronics were located! Even if Thermador used high-temperature military or space grade components, it was still WAY too hot for any electronics to survive in there very long in those conditions. I waved goodbye to any hope of salvaging a normal operating cooktop with a Frankenstein electronics transplant. So, I removed all the cooktop electronics and wiring in a few minutes with some wirecutters, plopped it into the old cooktop opening place by our pool and now use a dollar-store butane igniter to fire up my castrated ‘luxury’ Thermador cooktop. Having it by my pool makes me look a lot richer than I am! ????

I was led into buying a complete Thermador kitchen when I remodeled. I got top of the line Thermador Freedom tower fridge/freezer at $6000, 40 double oven at $3000, stainless dishwasher, forget price, and a range top. The stove top is the only one still functioning after three years. Every other unit has failed multiple times, both in and out of warranty. None of the issues were ever addressed by Thermador. The oven was so broken I got a credit card refund after a long dispute over 18 months after the purchase date. As a software engineer, I can tell that all these problems are from poorly written software. The behavior is characteristic of inexperienced developers and poor error handling. I contacted the Western US distributor director and suggested that he contact me if he wanted some objective feedback on the oven problems.I had a conference call with Thermador engineers and they truly had no idea how an oven controller is supposed to work. They claimed that the oven knew better what temperature to use than the user and as such it never got hot enough. Apparently, it second-guesses the cook and decides on some other temperature based on a combination of sensor readings. The freezer failed after about 14 months when the ice maker unit self destructed and was going to cost 40% of a new freezer to fix. I declared time of death on the fridge when the main controller ceased communicating with any of the peripherals. I had been diligently replacing them as they failed but once the brain died, it was over, too much money to replace. The dishwasher, well, who ever thought a dishwasher needed an on/off button? With Thermador, you need one so you can reboot it frequently when it locks up. I guess this is the least problematic unit. All the plastic gizmos for flip up trays, etc. have all broken off in the the first six months. OK, I lied, this ones still working. 1 out of 3, after a > $10K outlay. Never again.

Spent a lot of money on a built in ref/freezer from Thermador. Now that summer is here I have come to learn the ice maker only makes between 100-125 ice cubes/24hr. I find myself running to buy more ice as everyone wants ice in their summer drinks. This was never an issue with the Whirlpool freezer I basically wore out after 20 years. ALWAYS had plenty of ice as the maker would make ice when the lever was down signaling low ice. If I had known this I probably would have bought something else... cheaper worked well. I called customer service and they said that this was the feature and nothing more could be done.

We purchased a Thermador T18IF900SP3 which is a stand alone freezer column
We purchased a Thermador T18IF900SP3 which is a stand alone freezer column in November of 2017. Periodically the high temp alarm would go off with readings around 29-33 degrees. It happened intermittently for several months so I finally called Thermador and connected us with their service representatives in our area, St Louis Appliance Repair. Visit one was exploratory and a new board needed and ordered. A week-ish later part comes in and we schedule a visit in a few days. The tech comes out for visit two but the board did not work properly so the old one was put back in and another one ordered. The freezer continued to work with an occasional high temp warning. Visit three is a mirror image of visit 2. Yes a second board that does not work at all apparently. The old one is put back in (again) and the freezer works as good as before. On visit 4 (Tuesday before Memorial Day) the new board is installed and supposedly works because the tech leaves it in but says the molex connector has a crimped connection. He takes pictures and sends to Mike ** at Thermador which is apparently Bosch or owned by Bosch. The next morning the high temp alarm is ringing away and the freezer is 60 degrees and food melted so we chuck it all out. It is now Friday - 4 days later - and Mike ** has apparently still not gotten back to St. Louis Appliance Repair. I have called both S.T.A.R. and Thermador every day since Wednesday only to get another person saying Im sorry... or Were sorry... but we are awaiting for a decision from the factory, we are awaiting a decision from management on replacement, we are awaiting on a decision from Mike **, we are awaiting a decision for the tech, we dont have your proof of purchase, No we dont need your proof of purchase as St. Louis Appliance Repair will send it, (said Nakia) but they did NOT so I sent it, We dont have the notes from St Louis Appliance Repair says Thermador... What a never-ending run-around of poor customer service and process malfunction. So if you ask me if you should go with Thermador for your new kitchen? I WOULD SAY NO!!! And Bosch? If you own Thermador then how about Bosch for your new kitchen? PLEASE DONT! We spent a fortune on all Thermador appliances. I would NEVER do it again. So here we are about 5 weeks after St Louis Appliance Repairs first visit with the freezer working worse than before I made that fateful call for help. Will it ever get fixed? Not sure. Our family is coming in for Memorial Day Weekend for Moms 90th Birthday and to see the new kitchen. Thermador your broken freezer will be propped open and shut off so it doesnt smell like mildew. Thanks.

We bought Thermador appliances for our kitchen when we remodeled at the year 2010. We expect these luxury appliances can last long long time because they are all built-in units. First, we received damage refrigerator aluminum panel at the beginning that we need to hold the installation to wait for replacement. It took almost all day to install the refrigerator. Three years ago, the motors need to be replaced. It took half day to replace because you need special tool and only have very limited space to work. Now, we have the 2nd failure of microwave in last two years and We were told the microwave is not repairable. It is almost $6,000 because it is one unit with the oven. As an owner experience of Thermador, the quality is not you can trust. Do not be fooled by their pictures or promotion. Their quality is very LOW.

We paid a little over $25K for Thermador appliances and have had this equipment for almost three years. Our experience has been very poor. Given the price point, the equipment is unbelievably terrible. i.e. Our GE Profile appliances in our prior house had ZERO issues in 5 years and the equipment was 4 years old when we moved it. Thermadors customer support is difficult to reach. Theyre techs act like their is not a larger issue at hand even after youve called them 5 - 7 times over the same issue.1. Double Oven (digital version): The double oven is either too hot or too cold (weve called Thermador 5 - 7 times and every time they come out their techs say Our ovens are within tolerance if they are 25 degrees over or under the set temperature! Literally, the $400 Magic Chef oven/stove top that I grew up with had a more accurate and consistent oven temperature than the Thermador.2. Stove top and Fridge: These havent been so bad. The stove top had some issues with flames not burning even, which was resolved with new hardware. The fridge hinge wore into the plastic which was super annoying.3. Dishwasher: Three years into use, this dishwasher stopped working. Weve spend $500 in repairs and the non-Thermador tech said that Thermador appliances are known to have maintenance issues. Dishwasher will not run. First the pump stopped working, but it turned out there was a wire loose. Now we need a new electronic panel--Im throwing this thing out and buying a Miele or Asko.4. Customer Service: No joke there are times that Ive waited for 30 - 50 minutes to reach customer support. Thermador techs tend to be arrogant and believe their equipment is the best (which wouldnt be a big deal if Thermadors appliances backed up it).I would not recommend Thermador--youd be better off buyings anything/something cheap from Lowes or Home Depot.

36 pro range dual fuel 6 burner stainless - In the last 4 years we had 2 very serious situations with regards to Thermador ovens. The first incident was in a former home of ours where we decided to use the self-clean mode which we have had a lot experience with other brands in how to use a self-clean mode. After about 25 minutes the glass exploded sending glass throughout our kitchen. Had we not been at home, the oven would have continued to operate with the high risk of a fire. We moved to a new condo which had another Thermador oven. We put the oven on to preheat and again after 25 minutes a fire started in our oven caused by the heat sensor incorrectly reading the temperature. Thermadors response to this leaves us with the impression that they dont care about issues with their ovens even if it means that a dangerous situation could occur.

I purchased $20K in Thermador kitchen and BBQ appliances in 2012. Products are attractive and appear well built and have generally performed OK, but Customer Care has been consistently terrible. The cooktop hood collects oil in a tray which leaked oil and stained our granite backsplash. After two service calls we fixed it ourselves, but too late for our backsplash - see a similar earlier posting also on this site (This is a simple design fix which any design engineering student could identify and remedy). Refrig unit failed recently after six years, and is still under warranty for parts. However, Thermador has no authorized refrig service provider covering this area (where we purchased from their dealer) and will not provide warranty parts to a non-authorized servicer. The BBQ unit does not distribute gas evenly and one side is always much hotter than the other. The Bosch dishwasher works well but retains a residual food odor - its stainless steel but plastic parts seem hold the odor. We havent bothered to approach Thermador on this. Thermador quality is way under part, and the company is very poorly run with respect to customer experience and satisfaction.I live in one of the fastest growing upscale communities in Southern California - one would think service availability for this area would be a priority. Nope. I have always been polite and respectful in my calls to Thermador - the first level staff is polite and tries to be helpful, but supervision and management has been curt and annoyed with my requests for help. Wish I had found this site prior to our purchase - we surely would have gone elsewhere, and you should too.

In 1993 a 30 dual fuel RDSS30 was installed in a custom home. We bought the house in 1998. Within 2 years the front panel would start to blink. This turned into the panel shutting down. We were told back then that we could not get the computer panel. My husband just happened to find a floor model of the same stove so we purchased another RDSS30 not realizing this was a chronic problem with Thermador. Within a year the computer panel would start blinking then the oven would just randomly shut off. We never even used the self clean feature being afraid the extra heat would make it worse. Now it is to the point where the number are so dim you cannot see them unless you are in the dark. The oven will not heat beyond around 300. It shuts off without warning. How can a 5 year old $5000 stove not be able to be fixed? There are outside companies that offer the service to rebuild the boards. So why cant Thermador? I will tell you why. They do not give a damn.

I have to say that I purchased this range with great expectations thinking that Thermador had such a wonderful reputation; however, I am extremely disappointed in the performance of the larger oven. We had a small dinner party catered, and it would not hold the heat to finish preparing the dinner on her large sheet pans. Ive had problems with the lights not working intermittently, so I decided to replace the bulbs (which the manual states is a DIY maintenance item). This is not a DIY job because you have to crawl into the oven to reach them (there are 2 of them in the larger oven), and in order to do it properly, you pretty much have to remove the oven door. Suffice it to say that I now have to call a repairman to put the door back on. The first and only time I tried to clean the oven. The amperage on the circuit is exactly that specified by Thermador.

We have a broken Wall unit (combo of microwave+oven+hot drawer) that is ~2.5 years old. We got the unit from Karls Appliances in Fairfield NJ and Wendy ** was the sales rep. We have had number of issues with several appliances that we ordered from Thermador. First, the double drawer fridge stopped working in 1.5 years or less and had to be completely replaced. Then, the second most expensive appliance of wall unit (combo of microwave+oven+hot drawer) developed a problem just a few months past 2 years of purchase. The microwave stopped working and started giving errors. We didn’t expect this kind of quality of appliances from Thermador. Thermador provides warranty for 2 years and having the appliances fail just a little more than 2 years makes their quality inferior compared to the other brands out there. We used Thermador website to call George appliances and the person they send had no clue about the error nor how to even handle the trim of the microwave. We ended up paying the service call but with nothing in return. On top of that, we got quoted by George’s appliance for $1000 just to fix the microwave. This is a complete rip off by Thermador and their registered appliance repair shops. Thermador quality of appliances has been suspect in the last few years that we have used their appliances and even after buying expensive products, their products fail just as soon as the warranty expire. I wouldn’t recommend buying from Thermador or Karls appliances and definitely not calling George appliances.

Double oven purchased in 2007 (ME302ES/01). The cooling fan caused an error code E118. Thermador has no one in my area to fix it. They will not give me the information to correctly diagnose the issue. I paid a lot of money for this bucket and the Thermador National Parts Center (877-731-8081) marks up the price of the part to above retail. When confronted the sales person said, ** you, and hung up. I think Ill yank it out and you fill in the blank with your colorful mete-fore. I ordered a cooling fan from Bosh (800-944-2904) for $116.00 and will change it out once. Im thinking about a class action law suit if nothing is done.

To make this short, we have had 8 repair visits. The electronic display boards had to be replaced 4 times, the heating elements two times each oven, wire terminals to the elements, and broken door hinges on one oven. When we last experienced having the oven fail to heat, there were no replacement parts (in December), and then the 2nd oven stopped heating just last week (Jan). I have called and written but no one at Thermador at BSH Home Appliances, 1901 Main St. #608, Irvine, Ca. will respond nor have they ever cared. This is the only address I have been able to find to lodge a complaint. All of these visits amounted to more than $1000. Thermador products are junk.

Replacement part of oven sensor no longer available which makes the double ovens non-operational when it senses a problem that usually does not exist. All other parts of the oven work and it is poor customer service to leave a total replacement as the only option. Built-in oven replacements amount to thousands of dollars. I cannot in good conscience recommend a company that said they are only liable for the parts for 7 yrs. This is Thermador using Government Regulations to provide poor customer satisfaction and quality control.

My very expensive Thermador wall oven has been giving me an F-34 error code. When going online, I see we are one of many consumers experiencing the poor quality of this companys product. As frustrating as it is to need to call out a repairman, even more frustrating is that with so many of us having the issue, the parts are no longer available (or were ever available?) to fix the error. I expect a couple hundred dollar oven to be considered disposable but when you spend several thousand on what is suppose to be commercial quality, you dont expect to have to replace them in a few short years.

We purchased a Sapphire Glow dishwasher (DWHD651), the bottom rack is poorly designed, not structurally sound to hold the weight of the dishes, also the grid is too large so smaller dishes fall through. It buckles under the weight and the rollers come off the track. Also the cycle times are extremely long. I called Thermador and the customer rep told me they have received calls about the bottom rack problem. But the company has not bothered to correct the problem by redesigning the basket. Thermador PRL366EG Pro Range - This was supposed to be my dream range. Saved forever to buy it. Replaced a GE stove, which we donated to the fire department, with this piece of junk! The FD is still using the GE and Ive had two burners repaired and Im on my 4th oven repair in 6 years. Same problem on the oven; cant seem to get it fixed. The oven heats up but doesnt maintain temperature. Bake a pie at 450 for 15 minutes then reduce the temperature to 350 to finish the baking and the oven turns itself off, though the indicator light says heating. The technician cant seem to replicate the problem. If I turn the oven off, wait five minutes and then turn it back on the oven will come back up to the correct temp. One suggestion made by the service dept was to just turn the oven off and wait and then turn it back on every time I needed to reduce the temp in a recipe. Really? I tried to stay calm and explain why that was not possible and why I should not have to do that with a range that cost me $6000!!! So parts have been ordered (again) but there is no guarantee that this will be the fix. And a phone call to Thermador did no good, either. Keeping my fingers crossed that these parts are the cure since my technician is working diligently to resolve this for me.Would never, ever buy nor recommend a Thermador again. It would be great if when someone does find a fix to a noted problem, they could post the solution. Might help others.

Given that we are good clients, we proposed they offer the parts for free we will pay the labor. After 2 calls, they asked for a written request which we did. At the present time Ive been without a dishwasher for over a week because the machine isnt cleaning at all. 36 inch dual fuel range & dish washer - We have had our Thermador for two years and the oven has been out of service for four months to date and its out again! When we first tried to clean the oven, the heat burned up the circuit board. But that was not the first thing they tried and every part they need they have to order after a home visit, so the process took almost two months to resolve the first time. No oven for Thanksgiving and almost no oven for Christmas. Next time we cleaned the oven, poof, its broken again. Now, the warranty is out of date but it is the same problem! Now we fight through another battle. The oven was again eventually fixed and survived several cleanings but once again the oven is kaput after an attempt to use the cleaning cycle. There is also the story about the issues with the Thermador dishwasher sometimes running and sometimes not. Less painful than the oven but not what you would expect from new top of the line appliances. Never buy a Thermador appliance! I am sure you will do much better with any other manufacturer.

I build my kitchen around Thermador appliances... I received my range in December. It kept turning off after 10 min could not use self clean etc. Tech came out to fix...but after coming 3 times with no success my place of purchase decided to replace the whole range. I received a new 60 inch range 2017 model. They dropped it off without installing the unit...so I had someone come who I paid to do install. After install I was getting a cooling fan error. I had tech come again and he arrived after his second visit. He arrived with wrong part. A week later arrived again with wrong part...then called to say he would have to come back because he wasnt able to move unit by himself. Now another appointment a week later. He arrived with a pump to lift oven but wasnt strong enough to lift it...so lucky I was there. I helped him move the oven to install cooling fan. While oven was out I asked if he can pls raise the legs in the back about an inch so unit can be flush with tile. His response was its not my job. After all this and to say its not my job was very annoying...so now he installs fan but Im still receiving same error. I called again. They are sending same the same guy out with a helper. The day of repairs I get a call saying his helper could not get out of his driveway due to snow...really...but I was able to leave house with the same area snow. Now its end of March still no oven. 4 months without an oven to use and taking my wifes taken 10 days off work for them to come and fix. Horrible service. People whatever you do stay away from Thermador. Im am now going to place of purchase and asking them to remove all Thermador stuff from my home. I will be buying Wolf and Sub-Zero. Not sure of the issues I will be having if any with them but it cant be worse than Thermador...worst customer service I have ever come across. Also I paid like 20k for this range. I wish Id never bought it. This Thermador range has very finicky computer boards under the two X-LO simmer burners which are the first to go. My stove was delivered in September; the first burner broke in November, the next one in December, a third one in January, and in February, the original broken one broke again. I had 7 service appointments in the first 6 months for 4 out of 5 burners, and I wanted to return the stove. Its a lemon, or a bad design. But neither the appliance store nor Thermador would hear of it. Thermador extended my warranty another year, and that first burner just broke again. So Ive had 10 service calls now in two years. I told my friend who was shopping not to get this stove, but she ignored my advice, got a Thermador, and had to call service for repair in the first couple months. Choose a Wolf or Viking instead!

I purchased a pro style Thermador range/oven in 2008. It worked 2 years. Beginning in 2010, Ive replaced the ignitor every year, at a cost of almost $400. I expected this range to work since I paid about 10 times more than I would have for an average range. I will never buy another Thermador ANYTHING. The company that services the oven does excellent work. Its not them. Its THERMADOR.

We purchased a top-of-the-line Thermador CM302 double oven in 2004; since then, we have had to replace the Relay Board 3 times. The first time was covered under warranty, the second they paid for 10% of the part cost. We paid entirely for parts and labor after the 3rd failure. Now, it has failed again. Thermador Customer Service is unwilling to do anything about it; and to top it off, they tell me the relay board is no longer available. All they would do is give me the name of a company that might rebuild the board. No help as to who might remove and replace it for us, nor any support to get a new one. The oven wont operate properly - again. Their customer service associate was rude and arrogant. We own several Thermador, Bosch and Gaggenau products. NEVER AGAIN! I strongly suggest that anyone looking for premium appliances avoid EVERYTHING this company makes. Buy them at your own risk...

I would give zero stars if I could. Ive had the microwave oven combo - professional series for less than a year. From day one, the tray inside the microwave unit squeaked as it rotated. The tech came three times to repair a faulty bolt before finally replacing it after three months. It has now been 7 months since we received a replacement microwave oven and as of this morning were suddenly unable to open the microwave oven door! Its been one thing after another.

I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer
I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer at the end of January 2019. The microwave did not work from installation. The repair man couldnt fix it after 2 months of working with him and Thermador. In the meantime, the repair man reinstalled the oven door poorly and it does not completely close. The warming drawer also does not heat evenly. After 2 plus months working with Thermador management, which never responds or finds resolution, and their certified repair companies, I am still without a microwave, oven and warming drawer that work properly.I have asked for my money back and they insist that I continually waste my time on the phone and at home waiting for someone to figure out how to repair the problem. I have a full time job and cannot spend endless days on trial and error. The management does not reach out to me with a better solution. I have to chase them. Each time there is a new person/manager with no follow up. When you pay that much money for quality, you would expect top notch products and customer service. Stay away from Thermador. You can find much better for a lesser price and better quality.

Was excited about getting a steam oven in April 2015. I like to bake bread. Disappointed that top temp is 450 degrees F. Still, it makes nice (not great) bread. But really upset that the light bulb blows out because its glass enclosure has a seal made of crumbly black stuff that lets the steam right in. When I tried to order replacement gaskets, I was told I had to order the entire glass cover, as well. Rip-off! In this century, gaskets like this should last for Years!
