Before ordering, please check that the delivery company will be able to get the appliance in your kitchen. I ordered an American fridge freezer, but when it arrived they could not get it into my kitchen. The delivery boys were lovely and they said they could probably get it in, if the doors and drawer were removed, but they could not find a way to remove the drawer. I called Fisher and Paykel and they could not help either and suggested that I just took doorstep delivery and work the rest out for myself! Very disappointing, so to avoid disappointment yourselves, please check this out before you order. Incidentally, I live in a detached house with standard size openings.

On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. So Fisher Paykel has gone beyond the call of duty here, and we certainly appreciate their reaching out to consumers of their product. Thank you.

This is a turn-around story led by Customer Service Hero named Lisette ** at the Fisher Paykel Office in the USA. After hearing about the experience we went through with Rob who refused to let me speak with his superior and then in spite of my insistence to be escalated went on to tell us that his supervisor/manager doesnt answer return calls. Lisette took all of the details of the situation and undertook to get back to me within 30 minutes with a plan of action. When she called back 20 minutes later, she informed me that she had reached out to the Canadian Service Manager, sent him and e-mail and copied me on it as well. She provided his name and contact information including his cell phone number. Within a few hours, I had received a call from Freddy who informed me that he was arranging for a local service person to perform a service call and that I should hear from him within a day. In the meantime, Freddy and Lisette arranged for spare parts to be flown to the local service company, so that the problem could be resolved on the first visit. To make a long story short, the problem was resolved by very professional local service people from Murphys Appliance Repair in Dartmouth, NS. They received technical guidance and support from Freddy over the phone during their visit - and our problem was resolved beyond our expectations. The leadership clearly came from Lisette and she deserves the recognition and a Customer Service Hero Award for doing so. Kudos to her superiors for supporting her initiative! In the face of a horrific situation, she mobilized her local, national, international team and their partners to rescue a loyal Fisher Paykel Customer, stranded without local service on very high end appliances. For all of this, we are very grateful and share our thanks with Lisette, Freddy, Trevor (and Trevors nephew) and whomever else was part of this chain of support.

I am very happy with my new dishwasher! The drawers are so much easier to use than the pull out racks on my old one. The wheels were always popping off or coming off the track. No problems now! The bottom drawer is perfect for smaller loads. No more waiting for more dirty dishes to make a load. Its quiet and has a setting for fast for a quick run. I love it!

I have Benign Positional Vertigo and its either we raise the traditional dishwasher up off the floor to where I didnt have to stoop over and load the appliance, or I look for another appliance and make it much more convenient for my use. We ended up purchasing the two-drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher and it broke within the first couple of months. But I had warranty through our local store (and I think Fisher & Paykel gave me three years warranty) so an appliance repair shop out of Corpus Christi, Texas came over and installed a new one. It’s an excellent product, it does as advertised and I’m very happy with it. Although sometimes it doesnt dry the dishes as well as Id like for it to, but I dont know if thats an issue of just trying to run it on the economy side of it and maybe I run it on that quite often and change it around...

My four year old washing machine just died in the middle of a wash cycle. There was no indication on the digital display. I validated power to the unit then called customer service and asked for help but got nowhere. Basically, the control unit is divided into two component parts: display and motor control. Power goes to motor control, which controls the display. I located the specs sheet and tried to get out error codes, but no luck (now that’s a design flaw. How can the display board tell you it has a problem when it could be the problem?). So, it’s either the display ($160) or the motor control ($140). Both are easy units to replace. So I asked whether I could buy both units and return the one I dont use. Their answer was no. So what are my options? Have a repair guy come in at $100 who will then do what I can do for another $50 and then charge me for a marked-up part because hell tell me that’s their handling fee. End of the story is I have to make a decision to replace a 4-year-old product for another machine which would cost me about $550. The real kicker is I bought this machine and it replaced a 15-year-old machine that worked.Another thing, although the customer service had plenty of “Im sorry” they, like the repair shops who are dancing all the way to the back, are absolutely useless. My recommendation is do not buy from Fisher & Paykel, located in New Zealand. Buy from a local US company. At least you have the option of protesting outside their office.

Every white towel we washed, including high quality ones purchased this year, has developed holes. To be sure that we weren’t adding too much bleach, we have only filled the bleach dispenser half full and diluted it with water to the fill mark. We are about to throw this washer out and get a different one. Another thing we don’t like is that you can’t fill the tub with enough water to just soak things.

I purchased the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer 3 years ago from Lowes, after being coaxed into it by the sales associate. He was really pushing these appliances, and they certainly arent as good as he claimed they were! I have been very dissatisfied with these appliances, especially the dryer! I hate the weird noises it makes when putting it on, pause, and turning it off! Ive had nothing but problems with it. It takes forever to dry anything! Weve had a repairman out, and he replaced an element after wed only had it for 2 years! It still took forever to dry my clothes, and now it wont dry anything! It certainly cant be energy efficient if I have to run it for hours to dry one load of clothes! This was the worst appliance purchase weve ever made, and I have nothing good to say about it to anyone!

I called the retailer back and was told the F & P wont release the part until Feb. 20th. Thats CRAP. I dont want to wait 3 more weeks till the parts come in. The retailer told me he has several other customers waiting. How many people are waiting on this part and how many parts are going to be released on Feb. 20th. The closest laundromat is 6 miles away.

I purchased the washer and dryer I got from Lowe’s. I didn’t particularly want a front load because I had had a bad experience years ago with them. And I also had very limited space in the house. You could not put a front load washer and a front load dryer in the room because there wasn’t enough room to open it. You had to have top load machines to do it. And Fisher & Paykel has the only top load dryer that we could find. It’s more convenient. I would have bought it no matter what because the top load is just easier to load, unload, and everything else. It also emulates commercial ones by rotating into both directions. Considering that I sold the house in Tallahassee and the people who bought it wanted the appliances, I had to buy new ones for my house in Orlando. I’ll buy them again. I think top load dryers, you can’t say the best thing since sliced bread but it’s that type. The top load washer being an eco-efficient approach. We got the rebates on that. And the style in it emulates some very old, standard washing procedures that had been used throughout the centuries. My only problem with the new one we got down here in Orlando, the washer is really sensitive to an unbalanced load. The one in Tallahassee wasn’t as sensitive.

I have an F&P EcoSmart washer and dryer. Over the past 3 years of use, Ive had the heating element on the dryer replaced 3 times. Even though the element itself is always under warranty, F&P says I still have to pay over $100 to have a tech diagnose what I already know the problem to be, then wait 2 weeks for the part and again pay the tech to install it. I have slate floors in my laundry room and the appliance tech told me I need to wear shoes because the way the element is set, it could sag and easily hit the floor, causing electrical shock. How unsafe is that? But now after only 4 years of use, my washer has totally died. I noticed the pump was short-cycling when trying to drain the water. When water did drain for about 2 seconds, there was no blockage. Then the control panel completely died within an hour. Now I have no washer, my four grandchildren live with me and my brother, who I have not seen for nearly 10 years, is coming in from overseas with his wife and 3 children to stay for 2 weeks during the holidays. I live in a rural area and the nearest laundry mat is 30 miles away. I cant even afford to get the tech out until after the holidays, but even if I could it would still take 2 weeks to get the parts, if its even able to be repaired. So what am I supposed to do? Thanks for the happy holidays, F&P!

We bought our fridge, brand new in Sep 2011. After 3 years of use, our Fisher & Paykel E240BR fridge has broken down, 3 times in the last 3 months. July 2014 - Fridge was freezing everything, but the freezer was working fine. Called the F&P repair service and they couldnt come for 8 days. When they eventually came, the repairman fixed the thermostat and said it should be good. 30 August 2014 - Fridge & freezer stopped cooling, although motor was running. Everything in the fridge was warm and spoiled. Again F&P repair service couldnt come for a week. In the meantime we had no fridge and had to throw out over $200 worth of food from fridge and freezer.By the time the repairman came, fridge had started working again. He said there was nothing he could do until it broke down. 28 September 2014 (TODAY) - Again fridge and freezer have stopped working. Did not notice until tonight and again everything in the fridge is warm. When we rang the F&P call centre, they cannot come until Tuesday. Ridiculous. Call centre person was extremely rude and tried to say they had fixed it. Um if you had fixed it then why is it warm and stopped working again. Needless to say I am going to buy a new fridge tomorrow. Broken down 3 times in the last 3 months and its only 3 years old. Very unreliable, poorly made product. Will not be buying another F&P in the future.

So we took it in (diagnosis was loose connection); 4. 3rd year quit again (back to St Johns for service Loose Wire). Ran for a couple months and quit again. During all this time we had been communicating with Fisher Paykel Corporate. Last call in the year 3, Fisher Paykel said dryer was too old and would not handle any more repairs. My washing machine beeped on Tuesday and I followed the directions in the users manual to try to correct the problem. In the meantime the control panel was burnt out because the drain pump was broken. I called the repairman and he came on the following Tuesday and did not have a drain pump to install because they had just used the last one. I am guessing that there have been a lot of problems with Fisher and Paykel drain pumps. If I would not have tried to correct the problem, I possibly would not have burnt out the control panel. It is costing me $352 to repair the machine. I had ordered a brand new one, the same as what I had and I could have had it delivered on New Years Eve. I slept on it and cancelled the order because I thought I would be saving $300. The repairman said that they have replaced many control panels but Fisher & Paykel have corrected the problem by adding a fuse that will not cause the control panel to burn out. I would have hoped this would have been a product recall and saved a lot of people time and money. I really like my Fisher and Paykel machine but I am disappointed with the product not being recalled if you knew it was faulty. I would hope that I could be reimbursed some of the cost for the repair. The repairman was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I went to the appliance store called Melzen’s Appliance at Glastonbury and they informed me about Fisher & Paykel. Never heard of it before. It was one of the most expensive refrigerators I’ve ever bought in my life - it was $1600. I’m married for 35 years and I’ve had refrigerators before this. I was shocked at the price but had to buy it because of the size (it had to fit into a specific area). I also wanted a stainless and a refrigerator on top. It had so many of the things I wanted. It was delivered November of 2012.I love the F&P refrigerator except I do have an issue with it that I did go back to the appliance store to tell them that when I opened up the door, something came flying out of the refrigerator. I told them, “Look at this piece, what do I do.” The guy looked at it and said, “Oh that just goes underneath the door of the refrigerator, just glue it.” I said, “Glue it? You know this refrigerator is only 6 months old - really?” He goes, “Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with your refrigerator right?” I said, “Correct” “So well, just glue it. It’s fine. Because if I send out a repair man, that’s what they’re going to do and they’re gonna charge you.” So I still have the piece here and it doesn’t impede or impact what’s going on with the refrigerator. I haven’t glued it yet because I’m having a hard time thinking that I have to glue this on my new refrigerator.I like the performance. I’m satisfied, though I’m not happy that a piece flew out on me.

I own Fisher & Paykel dishdrawers. I recently purchased their laundry. It has one of the best designs out there and its unfortunate that they get a bad rap a lot of times, a lot of people dont know how to use them properly and that explains a lot of negative reviews. Just bought a new Fisher refrigerator 6 months ago. I looked for a review in Consumer Reports but didnt find one. Let me save you the time: Noisy piece of crap that has equal service backing. Let me describe the 24 hour noise combination: constant gurgling, constant whirring, constant groaning, constant grinding. Refrigerator shuts off 10 minutes in 24 hours while set on the warmest setting. Customer service? The positive side - they answer the phone. The negative - you will never get anything resolved. Call backs are nonexistent. DO NOT ACCEPT it when they say they will call back, they will not. This holds true with regional service reps. I could go on for pages of my nightmare but I have already wasted hours upon hours pursuing a fix with no results. This piece of crap is going to the curb, sick of it and cant take the noise any longer. Im done.

What sold me on the product was the no agitator thing and that it weighed the load. Also because Maytag is not what it used to be. I like the washer. Compared to what my other one was, its slow and I thought these new washers were faster. It takes a little longer, but I can get more clothes in. Thats a big plus. The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet co
The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.

I called Fisher Paykel to clarify range installation clearances. The first time I called, after waiting at least 20 minutes on hold, I talked briefly to someone who couldnt answer my question so he forwarded the call to a technician. After waiting another ten minutes, the technician hung up on me. The second time I called, I again had to wait at least 20 minutes. The person I spoke with that time said he would get answers & call me back. He never did.

Two of the igniters on my 9 yr old range stopped working. I tried to get the igniters repaired by two different appliance repair companies that Fisher Paykel recommended ($300.00 expense) both telling me the same thing - the unit was unable to be repaired due to a design flaw. I call Fisher Paykel and asked for assistance and was told since it was 9 yrs old they werent going to do anything. So my $10,000 range is now a good looking piece of junk! I would never purchase anything from this company!!!!

About a month ago I purchased a double wall oven made by Fisher & Paykel. I was a little worried by the reviews I read, but I know that more people who are unhappy with their purchases tend to write reviews because they want to air their grievance. I love my FP ovens. They work perfectly. They have about 10 different settings depending on the type of food you are cooking. The ovens work perfectly. They hold the correct temperature and everything I have made in them has come out perfectly. I love that the shelves move in and out at the gentlest touch. No struggle to get heavy pans in and out of this oven. The only thing I havent tried is the cleaning cycle. That was the problem with my Thermador ovens. The high heat of the cleaning cycle burned out the circuit boards---three times. No more Thermador for me. So far I am a happy baker.

We were getting a new kitchen installed last May, and after much consideration had gone with almost all Fisher and Paykel appliances. Unfortunately our son had an accident in the kitchen mid Sept shattering the front piece of glass on the oven door. We called Services about a replacement which was showing available online but it took a whole week of ringing every day only to be told that there was no stock of the glass part or a whole door and they couldnt tell for sure when it would be available. Well its 4 weeks now and we have called repeatedly and emailed customer care as well to no avail. Polite and sorry as they always are when speaking on the phone or responding in their emails, the staff seem to be at a loss for a resolution. There seems not to be an answer from the technical team here in the UK which is totally mind boggling for a supposed reputable and growing company. We are sorry that the only people we can speak with are helpless and taking the flak for F&Ps poor services. How does Fisher and Paykel actually function in their after-sales care or do they actually care for their customers? If only we had known this, we would not have kitted out our kitchen with so many F&P appliances. But now that our architect, builders and friends see what we are currently facing, no one is likely to use or recommend the use of F&P appliances. Its a real shame, good products but poor organisation. We have decided the next step would be to refer case to the Ombudsman.

I purchased a brand new F&P washer and dryer. We really do like them, and we have had no problems except the dryer tumbling issue which others have had. Last year in September, the dryer made loud grinding noises and then parts fell onto the laundry in the dryer. We replaced the parts and again the parts broke off onto the laundry in the dryer. I am checking to see if F&P will pay for these parts or if there is a consumer class action out there we can join. Can anyone give us information on this subject? Thank you!

Consumers be warned. Do not waste your money on Fisher Paykel products (DCS). Remodeled kitchen went with all Fisher Paykel products. Experienced product failure with the Dish Drawer and FP refused to replace the manufactured parts that were faulty saying the product was out of warranty. I pushed back stating if the failed items were due to misuse or normal wear and tear, I would agree but these were parts that failed due to poor manufacturing. Coated parts that broke down and rusted out. FP did not care. Then experienced problems with the motor on one of the dish drawer. Tech came out twice and the second time the unit worked worst when he left, telling us the noise level was normal. Normal? It didnt sound like that when he got there, and it didnt sound like that when we first installed it. Experienced problems with the double ovens. Used the self-cleaning function four times and the broiler coil burned out. The tech replaced the broiler coil and then told us not to use the self-cleaning function because the broil coils will burn out again. Told us to use an oven cleaner, which FP instruction manual says not to. Experienced problem with the cooktop. Followed the instructions for cleaning. Then the igniters stopped working, or when you turned on one, a different one would attempt to ignite. Tech came in told us not to follow the recommended cleaning process. Told us to use simple cleaner and soft sponge. Cooktop looks like crap now. Experienced problems with noisy microwave. Too disgusted to bother calling for repair. Do not waste your time or money. FP will not support you and will look for any reason or ways to get out of spending their money to make things right when you likely as I did, spent big bucks to purchase their product.

I bought a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and refrigerator quite some time ago. After 3 or 4 years, the dishwasher was deemed beyond repair so we had to buy a new one. The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.

We bought a BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and on the 8th day, which is only the 3rd time we have used it, when it spin, the whole machine was shaking badly. So we called Fisher Paykel Customer Service and advised what happened. We took a video of the machine shaking. They scheduled us for a day for the repairman to check so my husband went off for work just to able to attend to the repairman. And then, he said, it defective and he requested with their Customer Service for it to be replaced...The second BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE arrives but when we tried it, it also shakes but not as bad as the first unit. My husband wanted to call Customer Service again. I told him, its not bad as the first unit so maybe its just normal, but the next time we used it, shaking was not good, so we took a video of it again just to show how the machine is again shaking. And not just that, we had these boxes of my boots at the side of the washing machine and its all wet and it just came to our knowledge that the BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE has a leak as well... What a quality. ;( So we called Customer Service and requested for another day to have a check on it, that was weekend. We requested if they can schedule us on the coming Monday for I am on leave from work but they said its all fully booked. They scheduled us on Wednesday same week 12-5pm.However, this is the 2nd time of this issue with this BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and its not that easy to ask from work for another half day or leave. So my husband clearly advised with the Customer Service that he will be available by 5pm and they said back theyll see. So on Wednesday, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will come on 5pm that day. The person I spoke to tells me that the technician will be finished working by 4:30pm in our area so 5pm is not possible. So I told her, is there any other option for we need someone to check the machine for it is not fair that we are paying a lot of money on this defective BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE.She throw the question back to me asking me what are other options I can think of. She told me shell ask the technician to call me 1hr before hell come. Just to put in perspective, she is quite nice lady, though. So I told her, I can use my lunch time to drive home just for this to be checked for I cant have another leave for I just had one. So she checked the technician schedule and said that we are scheduled for 12-1pm so it is fine that I can drive back home at lunch time so the technician can come at the scheduled time as what their system is saying. So I was thinking when she says that we are scheduled on 12-1pm, I just need to just go home and wait for the technician on the scheduled time.So I approached my Manager and advised that Ill be leaving but be back by 1sh. So when I arrived home around 12:10pm, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will be coming as what was scheduled, as what their system is showing. But the lady on the other line says a straight NO, YOU ARE 12-5PM, NOT 12-1PM. Which makes my blood went up to my head. I drive 35-45 minutes to come home and then you will tell me that technician will not see me as what Ive been advised on phone earlier? I was pretty mad, disappointed whatever you call it, that we bought this FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. The reason we bought a brand new is not to have a lot of drama, but we had more that we expected... Not really happy with the unit and with the Customer Service. I better refund the money for this unit and buy another Brand. THUMBS DOWN...

On the dryer I have replaced the plastic knob and the inside of the dryer is all cracked and peeling. I have had my water checked but these are the only appliances with a problem. Quality of plastic parts below zero. My Miele dishwasher is fine. I called F & P and the customer service rep suggested that I use harsh detergents, but I just use All detergent. No help. Warning! We purchased this Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer in 2007. It has worked okay until now. I have not used the dryer in 4 days. Today, I found the dryer hot - very very hot. All the indicator lights were off. The outside of the heating element inside the drum was so hot to the touch it almost burned me. The exterior of the dryer was very very very hot particularly on the backside of the heating element. Fisher and Paykel offered to send a technician at my expense. I purchased three F&P appliances in 2005 (double drawer dishwasher, a washer and dryer). All three of them have been a total waste of money, for each one has had problems which make them irreparable and problematic. When I purchased the F&K washer and dryer my main concern was the fact that both units were controlled by the electronic board. The salesman replied that this should be one of the significant advantages due to the fact that if something went wrong with the washer or dryer they simply send out a replacement electronic board for about $75. All I would have to do is unplug the old one and plug in the new one. How far from the truth that was. They never mentioned that the only repair service company was one person in the entire Houston, Texas market that ended up knowing less about the product than me. And besides, they charge you $75-$85 just to come out and diagnose the problem. After doing so with the washer, they said that it was the electronic board and they would have to order. When the board came in they replaced it. It still did not work and they said the entire motor would have to be replaced at a cost that far exceeded purchasing a new washer. Needless to say, I was smart enough to send the new F&K packing to my backyard graveyard only to replace it with the very old Maytag washer which I had taken out just due to its poor visual appeal. Boy have I learned. I would much rather have a dingy, slightly dented beige workhorse of a washer as in my Maytag, which is older than me, than this new updated F&P laughing stock of an appliance. Let me say if I was the F&P Marketing Director and I saw comments as numerous and detailed as the ones I saw on this site, I would set out to make things right with these customers. Secondly, my F&P dryer just all of a sudden stopped heating. So I decided to look at this website prior to calling the no-use of a repair service that F&P has accredited with the worthiness to repair its appliances. Well, I only wish that I had found this website prior to my purchasing these F&P products. What worthless pieces of useless technology. I think the woman early put the entire frustration into place when she said her mother used an old tub and ringer system and at least at the end of the day she was relaxed. I have to agree wholeheartedly. I think I am going back to washing in a tub and ringer and then putting them out to dry on the line if this is the best consumers can expect. Now I know why my mom only purchases Kenmore. She said they were totally reliable and that Sears always stands behind their product. Since having to do my laundry there now for the last year due to my unsuccessful purchase, I think I have to finally give in to my mom that said, I told you so!The last appliance (and thank God someone talked me out of the refrigerator or I would be writing in about 4 instead of 3 appliances) is the double drawer dishwasher. Now, how a service repairman can tell me that the reason the top drawer tends to stop after 20 minutes of washing and start beeping like it is off balance is due to operator error I do not understand. On top of which he said it can be attributed to the dishwashing detergent selected. Now, I am a Cascade man and that is the only detergent I have ever used since learning early on during my college years that nothing works better. And thank God because when the dishwasher finally makes it through the washing cycle at least I know they will be sparkly! Not necessarily clean because this dishwasher has to be the worst at cleaning dishes. I installed a cheap GE Dishwasher in my butler’s pantry, which I now find myself hauling dishes from the Kitchen to the butler’s pantry to avoid using the F&P because the cheap GE washes faster, better and quicker than the F&P ever did or would ever be able to do in the future. It seems that after starting the dishwasher, which was installed in a newly renovated 100-year old historic house that is on pier and beam, it seems to stop and start beeping each time you walk into the kitchen during its cycle. It starts immediately and begins washing again after opening and shutting the drawer and hitting. I mean, I waste more time opening and closing the drawer to ensure that my dishes are clean than I would if I simply washed them by hand. So from my experiences, that is enough. Being taught from a young age that three strikes equal an out, F&K that was the last pitch and you are out!

My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. We bought a Fisher & Paykel built-in oven and microwave. My wife primarily heard about the DCS stuff over at America’s Cooking School. Then she looked around a little bit and thought they were a little better quality than the things we had, and some recommendations she’d seen. We’ve had the oven and microwave since June and it’s been operational less than half that time. They kept going back and forth and back and forth and they finally replaced it. But it took a couple of months. So it’s really unsatisfactory. We went round and round and round with everybody, the people we bought it from, and we bought it from a very good, reputable store. I don’t know if they sell cheap stuff but we didn’t go through the kind to get any deals or anything. After it first went down, they gave us the name of the warranty service or repair people and they were pretty helpful. I talked to Fisher & Paykel numerous times. They talked a pretty good game but they kept saying that a local rep would get a hold of me and work to resolve it. And I haven’t heard from him yet. He’s a phantom, I guess. It was not very good. A part broke, they replaced it; it never did work right even with that. They came out and Fisher & Paykel told them to replace it again which doesn’t make any sense at all. But they did and it broke again and they never did work again. And it took them weeks to decide. After several months, obviously, and a lot of phone calls and other stuff, they finally replaced it. We cook a lot but in the summer. We don’t use the oven as much as in the winter. So it’s been fine the three or four times we’ve used it. We use it every opportunity because my wife still don’t have confidence we will have an oven for the Thanksgiving crowd. I think their customer service is atrocious. They never called back. They sound good when they take notes and say, “We’ll send it to the local manager and he’ll contact you within 24 to 48 hours.” And that’s two to three months ago. But the unit is beautiful - it works very nice and fits perfectly for what we want. It matches the size of the kitchen. It has all the good stuff but it doesn’t matter much if it doesn’t work.

Reading magazines like Bon Appétit, just going to stores and checking them out… I ended up buying a F&P DSC 305 Dual Fuel several years ago. It’s a a stove range. But then we moved and I wish I had taken it with me. But we moved again and I said, “That’s it, I’m getting another one.” My previous unit was very similar to what I have now. I bought it because of the quality last time and because the stove is a 5-burner and all of the burners, you can slide one from the other. Price was very good and certainly the BTU is where I want it to be, only this time the quality wasn’t as high. The oven wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it because the electric doesn’t get as hot as a gas would have. So it’s an excellent range, but a disappointing electric oven.

Bought a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer less than two years ago. Around the beginning of March there was an error code warning on the machine and it was leaking water onto my hardwood floors. I contacted Fisher and Paykel and was told to work with the one service repair company in Austin Texas. They finally came out on March 9th to look at my machine. The technician told me the symptoms of my machine did not make sense but if he swapped out a few parts it would probably resolve the issue. Finally two weeks later I was told the parts were indefinitely on backorder. At this point I called Fisher and Paykel directly. I was given the royal run around. I contacted the company 12 times over the course of 6 days. Each time I was assured that someone would call me back in the next hour or so. Never got that call. When I called back in to follow up on the issue, I was told a different story and that it was out of the representatives hands or that they were a New Zealand company and the person in charge was gone for the day. I was told the companies issue was due to the long shoremans strike and my part would likely arrive in late April. I stressed that the technician was not totally sure the parts would fix my machine, so I was supposed to wait six weeks for parts which may not even get my machine working again.

DEC27C and wL26CW1 - I have had a couple of problems with my units. However, two occasions they were covered by warranty (the washer). I just had a problem with my dryer. The bearing on the right side of the drum went bad. I called F&P and talked to the very nice rep who took my order for a new bearing assembly and sent it out to me UPS ground. The rep was kind enough to tell me that if I were handy, yes I could fix it myself and she was right. After the part arrived, it took about 15 to 20 minutes to repair. Wee, the dryer is back in service. My problem is the $250.00 of ruined clothing and the price of the part and shipping. I did contact a F&P authorized repair service, but the service is not what I would call great. When I called the tech and told him I thought it was the belt, he said It is not the belt; it is the bearing. You do what you know how to do and I will fix the dryers. That was a little insulting to say the least. He then told me the squeaking would not harm anything and I could continue to use the dryer, but it may spit out grease (hence the damaged clothes). Well, my wife used the dryer and ran a load of dressy whites and they came out with little spots all over them. So F&Ps authorized repair person gave me bad information. Live and learn. But as a whole, F&P on my dealings with them have been good. It is a shame that the face of F&P is who is giving them a bad name - the repair techs and their offices.

We live in Metropolitan Toronto; largest city in Canada, 3rd or fourth largest in N.A. and Fisher Paykel doesn’t service the area. Outsourcing options to random appliance service centres. I would have to say that the only thing worse than the product - both our freezer and our dishwasher intermittently do not work - is the customer service. I would absolutely not recommend this brand at all!

The dishwasher needs to be fixed frequently. It seems the parts of machine are made up of materials cant last for some time even when the load of task is not too much. After sale service is completely bad. if you want to buy this brand bear in mind the technician are very lazy and are not concerned about consumers, and take longer time and expect more time than usual. The customer service is very bad as well. I called them several times to book on a service. I was obliged to wait at least half hour with no clear response. As a result if you are looking a brand with such feature getting away from them.

We have had the washer dryer set about 4 years. A year ago the alleged timer switch went out. We called Fisher Paykel. They told us to pay for a service tech to inspect the dryer and let them know if it’s faulty. Then if so, they would replace. I went through the steps they asked and had the switch replaced at no cost to me. A year later, I am having the same problem. They don’t sell this dryer any longer. And again, they want me to pay for someone to come out and inspect and let them know if the switch is faulty. Really? Just like the other complaints, I really don’t think having the same issue and having to wait several weeks for repair is reasonable, nor is it reasonable to have to pay for the service call out of pocket and now having to take off work for the same issue they fixed a year ago.

We have them in the showroom at the last place I worked, and I inherited that when I bought the display, when we downsized after the crash, and I just replaced it. I put it in my sister and brother-in-laws house, and they love it. Its a great appliance for Californians and retired people who are you know downsizing their homes, as their kids go off to school. Its also great for young couples with kids because they can do one load. The dishwasher is great because of the two drawers. Besides, its a New Zealand product.

You can feel comfortable setting the temperature, spin cycle, etc. according to the booklet that comes with it and you have TONS of sensors that determine if anything unusual is being laundered. If so, the units automatically reset to take care of things. Both the washer & dryer open on top. These are manufactured in Sweden. While a little pricey, they last without any service calls for a very long time and are extremely reliable. The dryer filter is super easy to remove and clean, so it’s no trouble to clean after each load.

Two-door, cabinet-depth fridge - This model probably saved me a $20,000 kitchen remodel. Our new house had a new refrigerator whose door would not clear a counter peninsula. My wife was ready to start tearing out counters, but the dealer took a return on the offending appliance and supplied us with a model that we can actually stand in front of... with the doors open. Beautiful but, as we say here in Minnesota spendy, this refrigerator was — and remains — a life and budget saver.

Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud.
Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud. It is less than 3 years old and so you would not think these sorts of things would happen. The oven began shutting itself off, during its use, for no apparent reason. Sometimes it would shut off within seconds, other times during a cycle and so there would not be any warning, I would just come around the corner and see the light flashing and know that it had shut itself off. F&P suggested I contact the nearest authorized service tech. I had to explain, to 3 different people, (even sent a map) that the person they were recommending was a 10 hour drive, with a 2 hour ferry ride.I finally found a local person who is willing to look at my range but only if he can obtain a service manual so he can look the product over first, before coming out. Fisher & Paykel say only authorized people can have a copy. This person is willing to fix my range and they wont let him. Now a new problem appeared today. I suddenly have 2 elements not operating. There is an error code coming up, on the 2 elements on the same side, even though I am only trying to turn 1 of them on. And, the kicker is, there is no such error code in their consumer manual that is displayed on my stovetop. I strongly recommend people stay away from Fisher & Paykel.

I have just bought a Fisher and Paykel fridge (E373L WW). I chose this brand only because nobody else makes a fridge of this size without a freezer. Well, nobody whose products are imported into New Zealand, anyway. I dont need a freezer. I lost confidence in Fisher Paykel many years ago. It is so hard to believe this company was once so highly revered by every New Zealand housewife. They made washing machines and fridges that never break down; well, not until well into old age. I still have in use a chest freezer made by them in the 1970s. They must have made enough profit in those days making products that lasted. Why cant they still do so? My fridge is only 6 weeks old and appears to be working fine. The two stars is not for the fridge but the company.

We spent 3 times as much for a trendy looking SS Double drawer dishwasher. We had the service people out 3 times the first year. He spent hours at a time on the phone to Tech support in New Zealand. Never got the bottom drawer from leaking. Subsequently it would trip a wet switch and would not restart until it completely dried internally. Finally Fisher Paykel offered a brand new later improved model. The catch was we had to pay freight since local distributor quit handling the brand. This cost $395.00 for shipping. Or as much as a mid range Whirlpool. It malfunctioned within 2 years. Local service tech got Fisher Paykel Tech support on the phone. Diagnosed as bad hot plate. Spent $200.00 to put new on in.Didnt fix problem. Further inspection showed it was a burned main circuit board. And now a burned wiring harness. I spoke to customer care about my issues. They have said document and possibly theyll do something? That is still uncertain. Ill repost if something positive comes out.

I had a service call due to excessive squeaking. The lint trap screen failed and was subsequently replaced. I also had the washer looked at, because the water was not filling. And drain tube was fixed. He said we would probably need to replace the bearings. My husband replaced the drum bearing, but the drum belt tension roller bearings are original and are probably the culprit of the continued squeak. Also, the dryer not drying very well. Due to economic restraints and cost of bearing and poor design that make service costly, we are looking at ditching the dryer. Based on the premium purchase price, the dryer is certainly not looking to provide the 15- to 20-year trouble-free service life expectancy; and we are highly dissatisfied with this product. My husband has been out of work (under-employed for the past 4, going on 5 years), so service calls are costly. It would be cheaper for us to park it on the curb and buy used reliable dryer than to provide service. Can you help us out? It sure would keep us F&P fans. From the day I purchased my Fisher Paykel washer, it leaked. I had service techs out at least 5 or 6 times to repair it. First, they told me I was using too much laundry detergent. So I cut it in half. That was wrong, it still leaks. After 2 years, now, it has started making a high-pitched squealing sound. First, it started only when it started filling, then when it started to spin, and now all the time. It still leaks. Thank goodness, I was smart enough after the first flood to purchase a drain pan to sit it in, or I would be replacing floors constantly. The agitator has had to be replaced 3 times already. I would not recommend any Fisher Paykel appliances to anyone. The company is no help at all and the appliance store ( Maidencreek TV & Appliance, Reading, Pa) are useless. Their service techs are hopeless, as to what to do to fix the problem. They recommended I purchase an extended warranty since I was having so much trouble with the unit. If you want to throw your money away, just purchase a Fisher Paykel appliance. My new GE washer and dryer arrives on Friday. I told my husband to leave the washer in the yard and every time I use my new unit, I want to beat the Fisher Paykel with a sledge hammer and after that, I want to hook a chain to it and drag it behind my truck.

(Do NOT purchase the 2 drawer model!) The microwave oven stopped without any warning because the main PCB and line conditioner needed replacement. The interlock assembly on the door also had a fair amount of play in it. Then the induction range slowed down to only 2 working elements until the inverter board completely stopped rendering the cooktop completely unusable. The replacement piece cost was $1800 pre-tax and installation with a 30 DAY warranty! The oven cavity has turned off during use a couple of times which I consider a warning. My wife and I purchased an Eco Smart clothes washer and a SmartLoad dryer about 3 1/2 years ago. It took the washer about 4 months to break. The repair guy said that some coins had lodged in the mechanism. Since this was such a rare occurrence (after all, one never finds coins in the laundry, right? Especially with kids in the house), I wrote it off to dumb bad luck. A few months later, it had gone down again. They replaced the logic board, I think he said. After the warranty expired, it broke two more times and I was able to repair it. Funny, there are a lot of videos and tutorials on how to fix these on YouTube. The last time it broke, I gave up and purchased a new washer from a different manufacturer. The drier stopped working well after about 8 months. It took forever to get a load dry, I thought. I cleaned out the lint trap with every load, mind you. I cleaned out the lint in the exhaust line once a month for a while, thinking that was the problem but it didnt help. Now it takes four hours to dry a load if it hasnt rained lately. It never gets much more than warm. We found out on another forum that there is a service access secondary lint trap or some such thing on it. Lucky its summer and we can line dry. All in all, this washer and dryer set were a dream, for an appliance repairman.

I wanted my kitchen redone and they just put it in about a month ago but it’s not done yet, the total kitchen. So I haven’t used it. So I don’t know how it works or anything. There’s a lot of plastic stuff in it and I have a feeling it’s going to break. It’s not made as strong as an ordinary dishwasher is. I would just rate them average because I think one of the little plastic things broke when they put it in. It’s not anything that makes a big difference or anything. That’s not very good.

My former neighbor had a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and when she no longer wanted to top load and we were moving, she offered it to me and it lasted maybe a year. It was not even a two-year old machine and we had to have parts replaced on it. When we moved in here, I bought the Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer because of its energy efficiency and I had multiple problems with that, to the point where it needed to be replaced and then after it was replaced, the service people had to come back in and they had to take off a piece of the top part that was rubbing on the dryer.I replaced my washing machine with a GE and that has been okay. The dryer seemed okay, but I dont trust it and the only way I got service was to call Fisher and Paykel themselves and speak with the representative there. Fisher and Paykel claimed that the representative that supported this area where I live was having family emergencies. Im also having an emergency when I had a lot of laundry to do that I dont have time to go out a Laundromat to do. I hold my breath, I wont leave the house when the dryer is running. I constantly go in and check it because Im just not certain. It took me seven months of dealing with the problem and then finally they agreed to replace the machine with a new one. Its fine, but I still have little hesitation about leaving it unattended. I dont have the money to replace it. When I do I will.

My daughter is an interior designer and she introduced us to Fisher and Paykel appliances 12 or 13 years ago and we bought our first dish drawers then. At our next house, we had Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer as well as the dish drawers. Then our next house, we had a KitchenAid copy of a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer which was a piece of junk. So for the current house, Im remodeling the kitchen right now and we bought dish drawers. The products are fantastic. They pay attention to how much energy and water and soap they consume. The underlying design is brilliant in all of them.

I had an issue with my Fisher & Paykel stove oven door not fully closing and providing a good tight seal. I initiated a service request under my warranty in the middle of May 2017. As of today... July 7, 2017, I have not had a service call initiated by the company. They sent me the repair parts but will not schedule a service call today. Talked to the region rep for the company numerous times on the phone only to leave me frustrated to no end. I have at this point given up on getting any satisfaction with this issue. BUYER BEWARE!

Fisher Paykel Refridgerator Display Board dead after one year. Program board dead after three years. Poor quality product and poor quality service network in Canada. This product should not be sold in Canada, one month and counting to fix the fridge. I would never purchase anything from this company again.

I have been meaning to write this review to ward people away from Fisher & Paykel ovens (we have a range with an oven underneath, gas). First, they are dangerous. If not blowing up your home is important to you, purchase any other oven. One built by your child may be safer. We had their own representatives into our house over 5 times during the first year of purchase. On one occasion they left a gas leak and then had to rush back to repair it. They would not purchase it back but worse, they wouldnt give us a new oven. The flame routinely goes out in the oven, so something will be baking and all of a sudden, it is not. This creates a new type of cooking anxiety I never imagined. Cant thank you enough F&P!I finally took the time to write this today as I turned off a burner on the range and though the knob was often, the flame continued. The fire was on for 20 minutes before my wife smelled the smoke coming from the pan. My name is Alan **, I am a real person, and happily alive, regardless of what F&P does, I live in New York City, you can easily find me online (they dont let you put your email address in). If I havent convinced you not to purchase this range, please find me and give me another opportunity (unless our oven has killed us). And yes, we are buying a new oven.

I got the panel ready two drawer dishwasher and built in fridge freezer columns. It has been difficult to get the panels adjusted to fit with the kitchen cabinets. Paid $1200 to have the appliances professionally installed and it still doesnt look right. The appliance installers blame it on the cabinets and cabinet installers blame it on the appliances. The panels on the appliances just dont have enough adjustability to make it line up with the rest of the cabinets. I am very disappointed with the look of the kitchen. Its supposed to be a higher end, custom kitchen and it looks worse than if we just got regular appliances. I regret getting the built-in appliances.

I was quite surprised to read the negative comments about Fisher Paykel! After being a brand loyal kind of gal, everything I owned appliance wise was Maytag. After my Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer broke down 4 times in a year. I decided it was time for a change. I went to my local appliance store and was just about to purchase a new washer/dryer when the salesman tried to sell me an FP. I had never heard of FP before. The salesman made quite the pitch. When I continued to shy away, finally he told me if I tried the units and didnt like them, within 60 days he would exchange both units. Okay, I gave it a shot. I love my FP washer/dryer so much I bought their double drawer dishwasher. I had to call for service once for the dryer and once for the dishwasher. Both were relatively simple problems that were fixed within 20 minutes of the serviceman entering my house. I would have to say I highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher through Lowes. The reason I chose this is because its the only brand that makes that little drawer dishwasher anymore. I absolutely needed that size unit because we have very small condominium kitchen and I just simply could not have a drawer that laid down, theres no space, so I like the unit very much. Its working fine and the quality seemed good. The stainless is good. The installation was fairly easy. It was done by a contractor and Ive been happy with it. It was an easy purchase. Lowes did okay. There are a lot of people who are living in smaller spaces as things get smaller so I think those compact appliances are really great.
