We heard about Fisher & Paykel through the RV manufacturer. We custom designed and had built a fifth wheel for us to travel as we do extensive traveling. I did a lot of research and went to different online appliance stores that sold or dealt with the brand. After reading and finding out a couple of things, I decided to go with that particular model. It was all the good reviews not only on the online website that sold numerous appliances but the people who also purchased an RV like us who have installed and used them too that was the deciding factor. The dishwasher is fabulous and very quiet. You never know its running. Its amazing and is absolutely a dream come true. I love it. Its the best appliance that we made a decision to have installed. It makes life easy and works really well. The performance is spectacular.

The Fisher Paykel dual drawer dishwasher is an excellent new example of high quality and performance in a kitchen dish washing appliance. The dual drawer is engineered wonderfully to provide multiple ways to perform, and perform it does! The two drawers provide flexibility beyond a normal/standard design. The loading capabilities are different yet provided with a lot of forethought given to providing space. It utilizes much more of the actual inside space of the two drawer/washers. Once you understand the loading capabilities of the provided inside racks and adjustment capabilities, the loading capabilities are creative and useful. Three simple buttons on the outside of each drawer provide easy execution of functions. The dual washers are extremely easy to start, stop or pause at any time, using the three simple buttons. The system has various wash cycles and times all easily accessed and executed by another single button conveniently located inside either drawers top edge. A small LED lit screen on each drawer face provides a moving icon that lets the user know have knowledge of what stage of a cycle the wash drawer is executing. The LED also shows the cycle time duration working backwards from a start time to the finish of the cycle. The Fisher Paykel system is very quiet working washer. Yes, you can hear some functions executing some times during the cycle, but it is very quiet overall. Most importantly, the Fisher Paykel Dual Washing system cleans and shines dishes, glassware and utensils with precision to a sparkling bright clean. This is especially true if the user does not allow large amounts of food to enter the system. Pre-rinsing is any dishwashers best friend! Use this kitchen appliance/tool correctly, and you will have a great dish washing experience with this product. By far, the Fisher Paykel Dual Dish Washing system is the highest quality, best working, and easy to use dish washing appliance I have ever had in any of my kitchens. I highly recommend the Fisher Paykel Dual Drawer Dish Washing Appliance/System for any kitchen.

Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is
Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is not with getting the appliances serviced. I am fortunate to have a local repair service company that is responsive, trained on these appliances, and does quality work. From the posts I have read, this does not appear to occur often. My issue is with the reliability and quality of the Fisher Paykel products themselves. The washer is model GWL11W and the repair occurred about 12 months ago. As many others have posted, the water pump went out, dripped onto wiring for the computer panel, which in turn caused the computer panel to fail. I was told that this was because of a design flaw and the repair kit incorporated a design change that would prevent the computer panel from shorting out if the water pump should ever go out again. The parts and labor for the repair cost over $400, but given the cost of replacing a high efficiency washer, I decided to go ahead and get it fixed. Granted, the washer was 5 years old at the time, but really, a washer should last longer than 5 years. Now the dryer, model DE08US, needs to be repaired. The timer will not advance in the automatic settings. The sensor bars and sensor board needed to be replaced. This repair, with parts and labor, will come to $387. I have already spent $188 on the prior service call to have the problem diagnosed and have the dryer disassembled, cleaned, and two glides replaced. Given the cost of new dryers, I cannot justify spending what would come to $575 to repair this dryer. The dryer is 6 years old but again a dryer should not cost $575 in parts and labor to maintain within the first 6 years of ownership. At the moment, the dryer is still drying and the timer is still advancing in the timed setting, so I will use it until it stops. Of course, the dryer has now started making an annoying squealing sound, so it will likely stop sooner than later. I should mention that washer and dryer get light usage, 2-4 loads a week, and the loads of laundry are not large or bulky. Even the repair technician commented that both the washer and dryer are well maintained. Yet my Fisher Paykel washer has already cost me hundreds of dollars in parts and repair. If I was willing to invest in repairing the dryer, the same could be said about that appliance. However, that is not going to happen. It was a mistake to spend my hard-earned money on Fisher Paykel appliances and I do not intend to throw good money after bad. When it is time to purchase a new dryer or washer (or any other appliance for that matter), the brand will not be Fisher Paykel. The quality and reliability are disappointing and I wont get fooled again.

We were re-doing our kitchen and we wanted something with two drawers and they were the only ones who really did it for the dishwasher. I checked them out online and they were very highly rated. My wife says why we didn’t get all our appliances from them? We did our whole kitchen and she was... “I didn’t know about them beforehand.....” So this was an experiment that actually turned out to be positive and if they want to, they can change all my appliances, because I’m sorry I didn’t buy all of them :)Compared to other brands we had our F&P dishwasher is amazing. I love that the dishes come out sparkling clean. I don’t have to scrap them. I’ve had bad dishwashers. The last one that I had was extremely poor. I would never buy that brand again.

We had one service call in warranty on the dryer mod. dg6ofa-us8. The belt inside was ruining the clothes with the belt breaking down onto the clothes. We keep cleaning every week to no avail. Then it finally had oily stuff ruining the clothes, now sits in the garage after 3 yrs of use. The co. wants the first repair person to fix their defective product. The washer is now also sitting in the garage; it will not continue the cycles any longer without continual help [junk]. Never ever buy these products for any reason!

You can feel comfortable setting the temperature, spin cycle, etc. according to the booklet that comes with it and you have TONS of sensors that determine if anything unusual is being laundered. If so, the units automatically reset to take care of things. Both the washer & dryer open on top. These are manufactured in Sweden. While a little pricey, they last without any service calls for a very long time and are extremely reliable. The dryer filter is super easy to remove and clean, so it’s no trouble to clean after each load.

I have a 10 year old 48” range, priced at approx 8k+. About two years ago, I had to replace all of the interior shelves, at my cost, because they had rusted so badly they would no longer pull out. This year, all of the plastic on the front knobs have puckered and bubbled off, presumably from the heat of the door being opened when the range is on. Customer service has basically said oh well, and has refused to replace the knobs. After replacing all the shelving I certainly won’t pay for new knobs too. The customer service in New Zealand is certainly not what we are used to in the U.S. For the price of this range, they should stand behind their products unconditionally. As I told them, I have had KitchenAid ranges last longer with no problems. So, bottom line, if you are looking for a range with all the bells and whistles, be sure to go for a U.S. company! Oh, and the range has never kept accurate temperatures to boot!

Fisher & Paykel quicksmart washing machine front loader. Since getting this machine around 2 years ago, it hardly ever goes through a full cycle without an error blip, usually 37, or suds or just err flashing and blipping, it drives me crazy. I started using a natural very low suds home made powder and it stopped the blipping for a while, but now its back, and the drainage hose near the filter has never worked. I will never buy a Fisher & Paykel anything ever again.

We remodeled last year and purchased a DCS refrigerator, rangetop and double oven after much research. The refrigerator is great! We love the space and the layout! The rangetop is wonderful - my first experience using gas, and I love it! Our ovens are a different story. After 6 months of use, one of our ovens stopped working properly. Since we live where there are no warranty repair available, DCS sent their regional person. He fixed the oven, but a week later, it quit working again. We are still waiting to hear back from him. Very disappointed in the oven. Hoping to resolve this as quickly as before.

Bought a dryer from Fisher and Paykel. So far its blown out 3 doors as the heat destroys the plastic lugs which hold the door assembly together. Rang F and P. A supervisor called Tanya told me to get a serviceman from F and P to come out costing another $120 on top of the cost of 3 door covers which cost $40 each time. Please be warned that this dryer is rubbish and after the new door 3rd one was put on the dryer now makes a grating sound when running. Apparently a circuit board has come loose and rubbing against the drum. What rubbish. Dont buy Fisher and Paykel. Buy LG.

Have had our Fisher Paykel top load dryer for approximately 1-1/2 years. Started making a very loud noise which turned out to be the lint filter breaking away so lint could not escape. Paid the service repair $340.00 to fix it. He had just left when a new grinding sound started. He has been back four times and still cannot fix the problem. Now I am told we will probably have to replace the drum and bearings. I could have bought a brand new dryer (that would work for years! ) for what I have paid to repair this one.

Refrigerator model #E522BLX - I bought this fridge 4 years ago from SEARS Canada because my 35 year old never repaired Amana fridge suddenly broke down. I had a problem finding a fridge that would fit in the space built around the Amana and wasnt in a position to renovate the kitchen to accommodate a new fridge. I didnt know anything about the Fisher Paykel brand, and unfortunately, relied on the Sears appliance specialists knowledge and honesty.I was advised that the fridge had a very good 5 year warranty and excellent customer service and Sears would also stand behind the brand should anything go wrong. I bought it because it was the only fridge, at the time, that could fit in the space and I paid about $2,000 for it. Well 2 months ago the fridge started to make a noise that sounded similar to the noise I heard when my Amana fridge broke down. That was related to a compressor problem. The noise has steadily worsened and its driving me up a wall.I found out from Sears Canada that they no longer carry the Fisher Paykel brand (I wonder why) and therefore cant provide me with any service. When I contacted the FP customer service # I was directed to someone in New Zealand and I quickly concluded that their so called excellent customer service was totally false. I further learned that the fridge I bought has been discontinued (I wonder why). The extent of their assistance was to provide me with service repair contacts in the U.S. Anyone I contacted in Toronto is unwilling to service the model. It is now Christmas and I am now out of a fridge and $2000. FP doesnt give a damn. Although they did not outwardly admit it but I think they knew that there was an embedded defect with their fridge and therefore discontinued it without advising customers like me.There should have been a recall notice and offer to replace the model or at least make some effort to repair problems without costing the customer big bucks and aggravation. Do not ever buy anything manufactured by Fisher Paykel. And dont buy any appliance from Sears. Their appliance specialists are not specialists and are trained only to make a sale at the customers risk. They will not ensure that: your satisfaction continues long after your initial purchase. This is the statement that they include in their brochure.

I have had the Fisher&Paykel Top Loading Dryer Model DEGX2 dryer since 10-2007. I had no problems with it until 3-9-2011 (bearings replaced). On 9-9-2011, dryer would not heat. Since then, I have had (as of 5-18-2012) eleven (11), under extended warranty service, calls for same problem. Dryer begins to leave clothes damp. I can see lint build up within lint scraper module (lint basket sits in this and it is not part of customer use to remove screw and module to clean lint that is not properly taken into basket). This module has been replaced and the new one had sticky residue all over it when I had no drying problem again. Warranty Company (Lowes) says the visits are a maintenance problem saying that I (the user) am not removing lint. (I do I empty the basket.) Nowhere in the users handbook does it say to take the lint module out and remove lint. This module is difficult to fit in properly; I have watched different repairmen have problems. This dryer is a pain. I paid a lot of money for it and it does not appear that the warranty company is going to back up replacement/refund due to how the repair visits are reported. I had this dryer for four years and until the bearing problem it was fine. I am angry. Do not buy Fisher&Paykel. Do not use Lowes extended protection plans.

The problem is that my crispers below are not meeting the thing on the top that closes them off. Weve gone to the people we bought it from. They came here to look at it, they forgot about it again, they came back again, now theyre coming tomorrow, hopefully to fix it. And I hope they can because I have lost a lot of veggies and stuff. Other than that this is an amazing fridge, the rest is great, its very, very quiet. I dont have to worry about hearing it. The ice cubes are pure and clean and nice. I purchased a FP washer & dryer in 2008 with good recommendations. What a disappointment! Noisy, noisy, noisy. Im embarrassed when we have company and they ask, Whats that noise? I am embarrassed to say its brand name. This is supposed to be a good washer and dryer. The washer is off balance with every load of sheets I wash and plenty of other loads. What an inconvenience to constantly try to re-balance the loads. Also, the design of the dispensers is awful. I have to take them apart and clean them because disgusting black stuff is lurking under the covers. The dryer takes so long to dry. The lint bucket is emptied after each load but about monthly, my husband has to take the lint filter assembly apart to clean the internal parts or the sensor gets covered and the dryer works even longer.Ive been using automatic washers and dryers for 42 years and have never been more dissatisfied. I will never recommend FP to anyone, in fact, my recommendation for an FP product would be to stay away!

I surprised my wife with a brand-new Fisher Paykel double-drawer dishwasher because I got tired of cleaning and servicing her old one. They are not inexpensive. Within one month, the start button receded into the chassis. The service person found that the lighted collar around the start button was made of cheap plastic and had simply broken making the machine inoperable. I would think for the amount of money that durn machine cost, they could afford to at least make the plastic parts durable enough to last more than a month.

They looked nice in the picture. When I saw them for the 1st time, the construction looked cheap but I thought, well, Ill see how they perform and not judge a book by its cover, so to speak. Anyways, I have had them for just about a year now and cannot wait to get something new. The washer always stops working and wont spin out. So I have to wring out the clothes. The washer doesnt wash them very well. I can still smell odors after my clothes have been washed and dried. I dont know why, but all of our clothes are getting these small holes all over them. The lip on the washer locks so you can start it after you put detergent in. I can go on and on. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Maytag or Whirlpool, anything but this. Its cheap and the makers should be ashamed. But I dont think they will be around long. You market garbage and you’re soon to be out of business. Hope someone actually reads this before they buy one. I wish I did. From the looks of the ratings, everyone else seems to think the same.

I absolutely hated the Maxima Maytag set that I had gotten and had been a Maytag person for about 30 years. I actually got rid of it, a very recent purchase of a Maytag frontloading set, because I didn’t like them at all and I like this Fisher & Paykel top loading set a lot. I love it! I’m really pleased with the purchase. It’s much more efficient. It’s easy, easy, easy, easy to use, not complicated at all. I like the fact that it’s simple and that it doesn’t have a lot of extras that I don’t need and would never use. But actually, even as it is, it has more than I use now, but it’s good. Space-wise, it’s not as deep, which is great, because in my case, I was kind of surprised by the depth of the front loader and it was inconvenient because it got in our way. So that was another reason why I got rid of the other one. And I’d only had the other set for a year. There’s two comments that I’d like to make with this F&P set… First thing is that I’m unhappy not being able to soak clothes because that’s a nuisance. I’m used to old top loaders where you could fill up the tub, put some bleach in there and soak it overnight, and you can’t do that with this. And unless there’s a way that I can be taught how to do it, I actually called the main headquarters and they simply said it wasn’t possible. Secondly, I’m not sure if it’s what I’ve been using for laundry soap, but it seems like things are a little dingier than they used to be. I’m not sure. I think that might be the soap that I’m using. It’s the whites aren’t getting as white as I’m used to. But I don’t think that’s the washing machine; I think that’s my products. The cleaning products that I use, I’ve always made my own, and I’ve never had a problem with things getting completely clean before and it seems like maybe there’s a residue because they’re not using as much water. And so, I changed back to the high efficiency stuff and everything seems just fine, but it’s a lot more expensive than what I do. Overall, it’s a great machine!

I bought a FP two-drawer dishwasher about 5 years ago. It cost me a small fortune! We had our cabinets custom made to fit the FP dishwasher. It has been nothing but problems since the moment we got it. Now, it is on its last legs. It constantly fills up with water and my husband has to take the drawers out and wet-vac it, then put a de-humidifier in front of it for at least 24hrs. Once it is finally dry, he has to go into the basement and turn the electricity back on (which he shuts off to do this whole drying process). Inevitably, after one or two cycles it fills with water again and starts beeping. The beeping does not stop until we shut the power off again in the basement. The process repeats endlessly. We have had repairmen look at it and they say they see it all the time and there is nothing they can do with FP products, they are just not made well. My mother has had the same cheap Sears dishwasher for almost 30 years! I would love to replace it but I resent the fact that I paid so much for it and it is junk. Plus, Im afraid I will have to buy the same one again since my cabinets were specially designed to fit that model and I am afraid I will have the same problems with a new one.

The oven malfunctioned 2 months after purchase. We cook almost every day but use the oven less during the summer and had been out of town much of July so it was only used a few times before the malfunction. After 2 months, multiple service visits and calls to Fisher & Paykel, the unit was replaced under warranty. My impression is that it took considerable effort by myself, the warranty service provider, and the store I purchased the unit from to make any progress. (I never did hear from the rep who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hour following calls to Fisher & Paykel). The two malfunctions came on days we were hosting dinner guests (naturally) and we are worried about it working for a family gathering at Thanksgiving.

At one point the rocker arms were broke and had to be replaced and caused from the loads getting off balance. The last repair visit the service man said he would have to order parts and would be back to install them. He hasn’t been back and that was months ago. My washer still gets loads off balance and now it won’t complete the rinse cycle. But now my warranty has expired so I’m stuck with an expensive washing machine that doesn’t work. I will never buy another Fisher Paykel product nor will I ever buy anything from the store where I purchased them. I’m stuck with an appliance that doesn’t work and the warranty is now expired.

We purchased a refrigerator ( fisher & paykel ) when we remodeled our kitchen. After 3 years, the door alarm kept beeping after we closed the door. This would keep going until we opened the door and pushed the button inside. We called the company and tried everything they suggested, to no avail. We went online and found that many other consumers had the same problem. Finally, we asked for an authorized service company. They recommended KAM appliances. It cost 95 dollars to get them to come out and tell us that they needed a part to make the repair. When they returned, they told us that the part was defective and they would talk to F& P again. They came out a third time and then the refrigerator would not work at all. We were told that it could not be fixed. We called F & P and they told us we were out of warranty and offered us a pro rated price on a new refrigerator.

When we built our home, we thought wed purchase your product. What a mistake. When our dishwasher drawers stopped working, we contacted the local authorized rep who explained that if we didnt use the dishwasher every day, it will not work. What? He said that your dishwashers must be used every day or they break down, all by themselves. So, I will be taking your crummy dishwasher to the dump, where it belongs!

We purchased Fisher Paykel Top Loading washer and dryer in 2007 from Lowes. Along with the 1-year warranty, we bought the 4-year extended warranty. The lids are plastic and cracked! Lowes warrantied three replacement lids for the washer and three lids for the dryer. They would not warranty more than three per appliance. Fisher Paykel stated not to use stain remover on our laundry as it affects the plastic in the lid. Our warranty ran out on 11/24 and on 11/25, the dryer bearings went bad. I really thought appliances lasted longer. Its very disappointing especially for the money we paid.

I love this fridge, very sleek design, bought it for the quality and light stainless steel look. However, the original door had a dent in it and that is where it all started. It took 4 months for the service centre to replace it, only to be a different quality stainless, visibly darker shade/lower quality stainless (rough to the touch) than the original. Now I have a brand new kitchen with a horribly looking fridge. Almost a year later, I have to constantly follow up with FP customer service, who promised me a call back which never happens. This is how you ruin a perfectly great brand by horrible customer service.

I purchased a 2 drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher approximately 1 1/2 years ago. My contractors correctly installed the dishwasher and from the beginning, there were large pools of water at the bottom of the top drawer. Five service calls later and a call to (I use the term hesitantly) FPs customer service department, my dishwasher was supposedly fixed. Each time the repairman came, he found something he thought was causing the issue. When I spoke to customer service, they told me my contractors did not install the dishwasher correctly. I had my contractors come back to ensure they installed it correctly (this was confirmed by the repairman). Customer service refused to do anything for me (this was after waiting on hold for 45 minutes). My dishwasher no longer has pools of water on the bottom; however, the dishes are NEVER clean and I basically have to wash dishes by hand before putting them in the dishwasher. I called the appliance store where I purchased the dishwashers a number of months ago to again complain about the dishwasher. The salesman said he would follow up with FP. I again followed up with the salesman a few weeks later and again, nothing was done. I would never purchase a FP product again. I am now looking for a new dishwasher. The experience has been horrible and very frustrating. I would never recommend anyone purchase this product.

I purchased a new F&P washer to replace the old one that I have. After delivery and hook up, I found that once you put the clothes into the machine and started the washer, the lid locked until the end of the cycle. I am not able to open the lid without turning off the wash cycle. In the old machine, the lid locked when the spin cycle was on. Now, I am unable to see what the washer is doing or how much it is filling. I called the customer care department to find out what could be done to override this feature during the fill and rinse cycle and an answer from a supervisor, named Bernice, is that I should wash by hand if I am so concerned about how my clothes are being washed. In the past, I have found this company to be difficult when trying to purchase parts; but this goes way beyond attitude. If you want control over your wash do not buy a F&P washer. Once you start the machine, its out of your hands. This is not a consumer friendly machine

First let me say if I could rate it lower I would. I purchased the dishwasher a little over a year ago at Lowes and I did not purchase a warranty (I have never purchased one on any appliance ever) and I should have. The only reason I purchased it was because of the space I had available in my tiny kitchen. This has been the worst appliance I have ever purchased and I have purchased many. It does not clean well at all. I always have food residue on the dishes etc. I tried different dishwasher soaps and it doesnt make a difference. There is always water on the dishes when it is supposedly finished. I always have to dry them when it is done. WORST PURCHASE EVER. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APPLIANCE AT ALL!!!

I have owned a F&P double dishwasher for 7 years. Approximately 6 months ago, the machine began to leak on the top level and the dishes were not clean on the bottom. I looked on the F&P website and found the information for several nearby repairmen. I contacted the first person and he came to check the machine. He charged $80 to look at it & stated that he needed to order a part. We called him several times in the next few weeks, but he said the part was not in. After a few more calls, we gave up and called a 2nd repair from the list. Unfortunately, we had the same experience (and paying $143) - after calling 3 or 4 times, the repairman never returned our call.I called F&P customer service and explained what happened. The customer service person gave us another repair shop to call and stated that F&P would likely reimburse us for the house call fees, which was now over $200 with no repairs done. The new company that we called stated that they only fix machines that they have sold & that F&P should NOT have given out their information. I called back and got yet another name, which, thankfully turned out to be legitimate. Our machine was finally fixed (at a cost of $372). My dissatisfaction is with the referring of several repair companies who clearly could not fix our machine, and paying money for no service. When I contacted F&P about the events above, I was told that they would NOT reimburse me the house call money. I assure you that I would not purchase another of their products!

The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.

I was quite surprised to read the negative comments about Fisher Paykel! After being a brand loyal kind of gal, everything I owned appliance wise was Maytag. After my Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer broke down 4 times in a year. I decided it was time for a change. I went to my local appliance store and was just about to purchase a new washer/dryer when the salesman tried to sell me an FP. I had never heard of FP before. The salesman made quite the pitch. When I continued to shy away, finally he told me if I tried the units and didnt like them, within 60 days he would exchange both units. Okay, I gave it a shot. I love my FP washer/dryer so much I bought their double drawer dishwasher. I had to call for service once for the dryer and once for the dishwasher. Both were relatively simple problems that were fixed within 20 minutes of the serviceman entering my house. I would have to say I highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

I used a respected appliance repair person used for years on my apt building. June 2009 replaced drain pump, August 2010 replaced drain pump. February 2011 replaced drain pump, June 21, 2011 drain pump is fine, circuit board is shot. One on order - it is now August 17 - still no circuit board and no idea when it is coming. I got a washer and dryer by Fisher & Paykel. I went to Fletcher’s Appliance here in Nashua and I have a good friend. He was a repairman there for the company. And one day, we were looking at different things and I asked him what he thought. He told me Fisher & Paykel is one of the best. He says they have no transmission and explained different things about the machine. He also said that a nursing home had one for 13 years and they just finally got it repaired. And I liked the features of it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the dryer door. The way it opens. I think it’s kind of old-fashioned. The newer ones fold down so that you can use the door if you need to set a pair of socks or something on it. I’m partially handicapped so I sit on a chair to do the laundry. I was hoping to go on and put my chair there. But other than that, the machines are fantastic. They run great. I’ve had no big problems so far with them in the short time I’ve had them. I’d say they’re wonderful. It’s funny the guy that delivered it couldn’t get the washer to work to pump the water out. And he left and my older son went down and one, two, three, he made it work. Otherwise, they would have sent out a repairman for the first day that it was delivered. And I said to myself, “This is crazy. I bought a brand new machine and now I need a repairman? This is just isn’t working out so good.” But it was just something that they messed up on.

We have experienced unacceptable service delays in getting a repair to our 2.5 year old F&P Washer (Ecosmart). It seemed to work well and does a good job drying out the clothes. We have a Sears maintenance/extended warranty so we had preventive maintenance performed less about 8 or 10 months ago. In mid-November 2011, the washer made an odd noise and refused to spin. We called for service and could only get an appointment for three weeks later (12/6/2011). It was a great inconvenience, especially over the Thanksgiving holiday with family coming to our house. My wife was not happy and had to go to the Laundromat several times. At the 12/6 service appointment, the technician said that it needed two parts (including a circuit board). But he had to order them and they would not arrive for a week. So, the follow-up appointment was set for 12/15/11. My wife was extremely disappointed and expected the washer to be fixed on the 15th. At the appointment on the15th, the technician installed the parts, turned it on, and the circuit board burned out. Now my wife is absolutely livid as it will be another week or more before the circuit board and a new drain pump arrives. She is convinced that repair will fail as well as the tech does not seem to know what he is doing. She demanded that Sears provide her with a rental machine (they will reimburse, but we have to pay up front). She has also announced that she wants a new washing machine when this one breaks again and it wont be an F&P.

I bought a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher DishDrawer. The brand is very expensive, but I liked the DishDrawer feature and I was willing to pay more thinking it was a good and reputable brand. It turned out to be nothing but trouble. Countless service calls later and I finally gave up about two years ago and started washing dishes by hand. I bought this unit when I was remodeling my kitchen, so I decided to buy the unit that allows you to put the custom cabinet panels on it. So, I wasted the money not only on the dishwasher, but also on the custom cabinet panels. Not only that, but simply replacing the unit would not just be an extra expense I could not afford, but it would also change the look of my kitchen, which I spent so much time and money remodeling. Every time I would call the one and only service company in town to come out, it would work only slightly better and soon stop working again. It never seemed to work at 100% capacity. I think I spent more money on service calls than the actual appliance. How sad is that.

I was so pleased with my refrigerator that’s why I chose the same Fisher & Paykel for a dishwasher. However, with the dishwasher, I’m not real happy with it. It was leaving a lot of spots on the glasses. I’ve tried changing the rinse agent that I put in and changing dishwasher detergent, which did improve it somewhat. But I’m finding it is not getting the dishes and cups and things as clean as other dishwashers I’ve had. I was still trying to experiment with different detergents and whatnot. My former neighbor had a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and when she no longer wanted to top load and we were moving, she offered it to me and it lasted maybe a year. It was not even a two-year old machine and we had to have parts replaced on it. When we moved in here, I bought the Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer because of its energy efficiency and I had multiple problems with that, to the point where it needed to be replaced and then after it was replaced, the service people had to come back in and they had to take off a piece of the top part that was rubbing on the dryer.I replaced my washing machine with a GE and that has been okay. The dryer seemed okay, but I dont trust it and the only way I got service was to call Fisher and Paykel themselves and speak with the representative there. Fisher and Paykel claimed that the representative that supported this area where I live was having family emergencies. Im also having an emergency when I had a lot of laundry to do that I dont have time to go out a Laundromat to do. I hold my breath, I wont leave the house when the dryer is running. I constantly go in and check it because Im just not certain. It took me seven months of dealing with the problem and then finally they agreed to replace the machine with a new one. Its fine, but I still have little hesitation about leaving it unattended. I dont have the money to replace it. When I do I will.

I lost my home to a hurricane and decided to rethink refrigeration and dishwashers due to space. The appliance companies that my builder uses carries this brand but mentioned not many people have ordered them so they had no feedback. Searching the web, I found few brands that had “drawers” for refrigerators or dishwashers. So I ordered two drawer dishwashers and one integrated cool drawer from this company. Granted I have had them installed a month so I have had no product issues yet. But the integrated cool drawer indicated in the installation guide that there was a “false” panel for the bottom chassis of the unit (otherwise the bottom portion of the unit was exposes the compressor unit). The stainless steel drawer door was wonderful but then you see the compressor. My builder thought there should of been a stainless steel cover for the compressor. Me too. After three months of me initiating phone conversations, 4 different tech representatives, numerous emails (some said they had a cover to send me, some said they would check), I got ahold of Chana. I personally loved their Australian accents, but Chana’s tone of voice made it clear that even though she was told a black panel was available, she talked to her technical team again and there was no panel available. A false panel, as indicated in the installation guide, needs to be to the specifications of your cabinetry. It is to be built by the carpentry people and most builders understand that terminology. Even though the website isn’t clear and the installation guide isn’t clear that no panel is provided and you will need to build one, she became more frustrated with me when I asked if there were other solutions that her company could provide. Can I buy that black panel? Can we please double check the materials list to make sure there is nothing in there about an aftermarket piece? As an end user, not a builder or installer, false panels are not in my everyday vocabulary. Chana made me feel as though it should of been. My sadness about this situation is not about the fact that I have to go back to builder after three months to have more cabinetry work done but the fact that I had to keep following up for an answer over a three month period and I was talked to as if I should of known better. Like the title implies - I think the products are good just not their approach to treating customers after the fact. That is why they didn’t get a higher rating. The true test that differentiates a good company from a great one is how they treat the customer not only before the sale but afterwards.

Horrible, horrible machine. I purchased a washer in 2007. The diverter valve had to be replaced within one year. Next, the pump failed; water leaked everywhere and shorted out the computer. We waited several weeks for replacement part. That pump failed as well. Another new pump was replaced in March 2011, and now the machine is leaking again. The water is coming from the pump. We called F&P customer service, and after discussing our problems with F&P, we were shocked to learn that you cant use bleach in these machines. To me this seems like someone selling a lawn mower that cannot cut grass. I will never buy an F&P product again. Ive read F&Ps responses on this site, and their responses are wholly unsatisfactory. Sure machines will need maintenance and repair, but I think a machine is inherently defective when its cost of repairs exceeds the purchase price within a short period of time.

I purchased an F&P dryer a few years ago and after replacing the heating elements 3 or 4 times while under warranty and trying to blame me, the vent, or my electricity, which they couldnt support after inspection, and after I ruined a couple hundred dollars worth of clothes when the heating element broke and remained on when the dryer had stopped (not to mention getting burned when I reached in expecting the dryer to be cold since it had gone through is cooling cycle), F &P replaced my dryer with a newer model. Well, the elements on this model have gone out of it multiple times. Yes, my vents are clean, yada yada yada. I did have to laugh that they changed their warranty to 1 year because of their cost in repairing the elements and other parts. They recommended I move my dryer to an exterior wall so that it had an extremely short exhaust run. They also told me they beefed up the elements to make them more durable. Unfortunately, the elements cost more than $80.00 each time they break, and because F&P hasnt been forced to fix the problem, we as consumers are expected to continue to pad their pocket with repair costs. I should add that twice, when a tech was in my house, he wouldnt put my dryer back together to use with one working element because he said it was a fire hazard. Fire hazard! Does somebody have to die before F&P actually addresses this issue? It has been brought to their attention.

However, the cold water dispenser is not dispensing ice water. The water is at 62.5 degrees Fahrenheit. That is the same temperature of the water from the tap. We have well water which comes out at 62.5 degrees Fahrenheit. So the water is not being chilled. I may as well drink from the tap. How do you get this water colder? Very dissatisfied with Fisher Paykel. I bought 4 appliances from them totaling over 11,000 dollars. The dishwasher was missing parts and the refrigerator did not work. After 6 weeks of back and forth with the company giving me misinformation and every employee telling me different things to do and making me in charge of lining up appliance service with 4 days needed off of work that resulted in them not replacing a bad refrigerator but saying they would repair. The wheels were also broken with the services which ruined my floor and once they replace the refrigerator they will not guarantee. It’s a fairly new house. We had a builder’s dishwasher that we werent satisfied with. The area below it is a finished area, we were concerned about leakage in it and it was the only one that had a pump out cycle if there’s a leak detected – it’s my favorite thing about it. Ive had it for 4 - 5 months and it’s been pretty good. The performance has been fine except that you can only use powder.

Fisher Paykel Refridgerator Display Board dead after one year. Program board dead after three years. Poor quality product and poor quality service network in Canada. This product should not be sold in Canada, one month and counting to fix the fridge. I would never purchase anything from this company again.

In April we purchased a $2000 Fisher Paykel fridge with water and ice maker. We quickly realized the door did not close properly and was misaligned as the water/ice maker worked roughly one week on one week off. We called our dealer and they sent out a service representative who told us the water/ice maker could be replaced but he didnt know how to fix the misalignment of the door. He said he would get back to me. By late July nothing had happened and he basically washed his hands of it telling me the Fisher Paykel regional manager had ordered parts and would get back to us. By late September the parts had still not arrived so we started contacting Fisher Paykel America for help. They kept referring everything back to the regional manager who, for some reason, refused to contact us with updates. We were still waiting for a fix when they told us in October that the fridge misalignment could not be fixed. We asked for another fridge and was told that they didnt make this model any more and the closest model that would fit in our space was $500 more and was 0.5 cu. feet smaller. I asked that they replace our fridge with this one at no extra cost and they refused only offering an in-store credit for the original amount. Sorry I expect more for all the grief and inconvenience they have cased us.

I have to say this is the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It does not clean dishes. The detergent does not dissolve. The draw smells like rotten eggs. The customer service from the company is one of the worst reps I have ever dealt with. When I put the dishwasher on the 30 minute cycle my dishes are dirty and the dishwasher does not get really hot. I would advise everyone not to purchase a product from this company.

We purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, which was far more expensive than any other fridge that we considered. After delivery, we called to say that it was not cooling. The technician came once and added gas. After a day, it again stopped cooling. The technician came again, realized that there was a leak, and soldered some wires. When it started working, it was noisy. We called again, and they said they would replace the fridge the following week. They sent a truck to pick up the faulty one, and when we called the store to ask when the new one would be delivered, we learned that FP had changed their mind and did not want us as customers. We were left with rotting food and no fridge.

After 8 months, my 24 range stopped working. Two weeks after my initial service call, the service people said they had the parts and scheduled a repair for Tuesday, April 17. I took the morning off, but they did not arrive in time to do the job. So I had to reschedule my service call for today. They said they would be here by 1pm. Then they called back to say they had made a mistake and that in fact, they did not have the part, because it was on back order. So my lost morning off work on Tuesday was for nothing. I am still without the use of my oven. I would like a replacement oven. I paid top dollar for a fancy oven, and not only did it break so soon, it cannot even be repaired in a timely manner. I called Fisher Paykel and stayed on hold for 5 minutes before speaking to someone. I told them what had happened, and they just said to wait for the part to come in and reschedule my appointment and that there was nothing they could do, unless my stove could not be repaired. Meanwhile, 2 lost days at work and no oven for over 2 weeks! I was told I could call back in a few hours and talk to the management team, which I plan to do.

When an appliance fails, I always believe that the best service you will get will be from the manufacturer. Hence my dish drawer started to make a troubling buzz. I booked a service online with Fisher Paykel, the manufacturer. I received an email that allowed me to track my service. I had booked a service for between 12 and 5pm and the initial time came though as 12-1pm. Immediately this isnt great as its slap bang in the middle of the day, but I requested it so I just reworked my day. Around 10am I got an update that said between 2pm and 3pm. OK, excellent I could now work out what I needed to do around this.At 2.38 its still saying between 2pm and 3pm and then I got a call from the engineer, telling me he has 4 jobs in front of me and wont be here until 5.30pm. Seriously? I called customer service and clearly they say that the app is only giving me a guide time, but why not update it? If the engineer knew his status was 5.30 at 2.38pm, it wasnt between 2-3pm at 1.59pm, was it?I then pointed out that beside this, the engineer would miss my time slot anyway, as 5.30pm is not between 12-5pm. They then offered to reschedule me, but heres where the damage really is. Fisher Paykel I NO LONGER TRUST YOU. Why would I put myself at the mercy of your poor customer service and time keeping again? Why would I allow you to disrespect my day so much by not telling me or keeping me up to date on the time of arrival. As I pointed out, the supermarket can tell me to the minute when they will deliver and they generally get it right. I will always trust them. This is the battle for customer service. Its about trust and Fisher Paykel, YOU FAILED ME. I do not want to deal with companies I cannot trust. Its up to you if you use their service.

We purchased Fisher and Paykel appliances when we built our home in 2006. The WOS-130 wall oven never heated correctly, could not be repaired, so it was replaced by FP. In 2010, I cleaned the oven, and the oven door would not open and the control panel ceased to operate. We contacted FP. A service rep ordered the new part, and we were responsible for the repair. About 3 weeks ago, I cleaned the oven, and the same thing happened. The first time the repair person came out in 2010, he showed my husband how to unlock the oven. We now have a dilemma because there is no longer a repair company in our area that will come out to repair the unit. I contacted the sales rep from FP by phone and email, and he has failed to return my messages. His name is Jim **. I guess there is no sense in buying an FP self-cleaning oven if every time you need to clean the unit it ceases to operate. I am in quite a dilemma because I cannot get service to my home, and surely cannot afford a new wall oven. I would never buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance again if you cannot get a customer service rep. to respond or service in your area. I am very disappointed with this product.

I bought a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and refrigerator quite some time ago. After 3 or 4 years, the dishwasher was deemed beyond repair so we had to buy a new one. The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel GWL11 washing machine about 8 years ago. For the first few years the machine performed well but on the very day the warranty was up the Motor Control board went bad. Fisher Paykel paid for another board but we were out $250 for the service call. The next thing that happened was this year. The machine would not function in several wash modes and would only spin at slow or medium speeds. Last week, the washer refused to spin at all. I bought another board (not cheap!) and then discovered that the old board may have gone bad because of a design flaw. The board is not protected from short circuit with the pump motor and the pump motor has a tendency to leak after a while. This causes a short that blows out the board. The factory does or did not acknowledge the problem. So, I then purchased a replacement pump (also not cheap!) that came with an inline fuse to prevent this from happening again. I put everything back together and all kinds of new problems. The GWL11 was an expensive machine at the time we purchased it and all we have done is put more money into it. Despite the new control board & pump, the machine will overfill unless you stop it manually, the lid lock cycles back and forth and then beeps preventing the machine from going into any spin cycle. At this point, I have had it with this machine! I will never buy another Fisher Paykel product and I will discourage everyone I know from buying their products. My last washing machine, a Sears Kenmore lasted me 17 years and it STILL WORKED! I only sold it to upgrade to the Fisher Paykel. Im going to take it out to the farm and use it for target practice. At least I will get SOME satisfaction from this lousy machine!

After having issues with my dryer and then my washer, Lisette of Fisher Paykel has been very helpful. When the bearings on my dryer needed to be replaced, the company paid over half the cost. When the water pump on my washer broke shortly after, the company is going to pay for the pump. Their customer service is excellent. Thank you so much.

I spent over $1200. trying to repair a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and they finally said there was a short in the foam box and it cannot be repaired. The company said they will offer a $932.67 credit towards the purchase of a new FP refrigerator. I told the female representative that the local dealer I use had one in stock and I could get it immediately. She said that would be ok and they can reach out and get reimbursed. Once the refrigerator was bought, Fisher Paykel now says they cannot offer the credit as it was bought by a dealer! This company has lied and treated me so poorly after all I have been through that I would seriously consider using another company when buying appliances.

F-P Top Loading Washing Machine - I would never buy a F-P Product again. We purchased our machine from a local appliance store. After 3 years, the pump broke because a coin had been left in a pocket and got into the pump. We have been waiting for more than three weeks for the part, and the store said the labor cost to install the new one will be high. A machine that will be ruined by a coin slipping into the pump is not a good design. Also, this machine cannot handle anything but a light load before becoming unbalanced.

Five and a half years ago, I purchased a Fisher Paykel Aerotech oven from Lowes. This evening, I cooked a pizza on the Aero Pastry setting per the oven manual. I turned it off and my family sat down to eat. We finished eating and were getting ready to go to the pool when my husband decided it was too late and we would stay home instead. Lucky for us because when he looked at the oven, he noticed flames on the inside of the inner cover shooting out. He ran downstairs and turned off the breaker and I threw baking soda on them. After the oven cooled, he took off the back plate and the heating element was cracked and melted. If we had left and not looked inside the oven, we would have come home to find our dog dead and everything we owned gone. No, Im not happy at all.

For 3 months I have been trying to buy a replacement water filter for my fisher & paykel fridge freezer - on line it tells me they are out of stock and to phone. On the phone I get confirmation that they are out of stock and given no confirmed date of availability. I am told to order and I will be emailed when they arrive - but remember they cannot tell me when that will be. Today I have ordered 2 at the whopping cost of £98 but have been warned that there are many orders ahead of mine as there is a huge demand for them and so I will have to wait my turn. The filter is an integral part of the function of my particular machine - so why is it impossible to pick up the phone or go online and order a filter and get one immediately? How hard can it be to stock enough to meet demand? We are talking about a simple water filter here - nothing more but for reasons best known to themselves - they will not maintain a sufficient quantity for its customers. Do I smell a rat here? Is there an agenda I wonder? Hundreds of customers are having to pay in advance for their expensive water filters to ensure that they receive them in the designated time stipulated by Fisher & Paykel. Frankly had I known I would not have bought from this company and certainly will not again.

My daughter is an interior designer and she introduced us to Fisher and Paykel appliances 12 or 13 years ago and we bought our first dish drawers then. At our next house, we had Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer as well as the dish drawers. Then our next house, we had a KitchenAid copy of a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer which was a piece of junk. The underlying design is brilliant in all of them.

If you are looking for the ability to do different types of loads (light and dirty, or fine dishes and heavy pots) at the same time or if you usually do smaller loads more often and only large loads occasionally, this is the dishwasher for you. The interior of the dishwasher and the racks are amazingly designed. We can fit way more dishes bowls and cups that we thought would be possible in each drawer. The adjustable side shelves allowing for larger items below and then shorter items like coffee cups are so smartly designed. Further, this dishwasher cleans things perfectly. No spots, no missed areas and no running the load a second time to try to get it clean. And it runs on the quiet side for a dishwasher except for an occasional noise here or there when the pump runs to drain water.

I bought a Fisher & Paykel range on 11/9/11. It was delivered on 12/7/11. I moved into the house on 12/12/11. I had a spill over during the first week. The two front burners allowed spill to go into the mechanism, the orifice and into the burner. I am not happy with the design and feel that it is a design flaw. I have had over 50 years of experience with ranges and have never seen one like that that does not allow for cleaning. I contacted Big 1 for resolution. They sent a service technician who stated that the burner needed to be replaced. After he left, the center burner would not light at all and the two front burners tried to ignite no matter which burner I tried to turn on.

Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer
Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer over icing around the fan area on the rear panel. In memory all that was fixed was the rear panel. The fan cover/vent was not even replaced and was left without one. I dont believe anything was done about the over icing of the back fan area. Then in late September 15 my customer reports the freezer is still defrosting intermittently throughout the many months, but only occasionally. So in September your serviceman visits and says its the door hinge/latch not closing properly causing the light to come on and thus defrosting the freezer. So he fixes it, then the problem continues. So then he orders new hinge latch parts and replaces it and the problem continues. Meanwhile the month and another month has gone by where my customer has a freezer which is defrosting all her food. Food is expensive and she has 6 children and is pregnant. So by now I have spoken to management in your service department a several times to discuss a fast solution. To be informed nothing can be done except send another service man out to fix it.I requested a different serviceman as he has not been able to fix the problem, always stating it is the door hinge/latch. I think he has been there 5 times now. Your management team advises me the serviceman is the person who decides if the fridge can be fixed or not. If he states it cant then the item will be replaced or refunded. (The technician states he is not allowed to report it cant be fixed. He HAS to fix it!!!) So now we are in December the heat is coming in, xmas food needs cooling and the fridge is not keeping the food cold enough either. The lady is pregnant and concerned she may get sick from food/dairy that is not being cooled effectively. So last week I asked management to send another technician. They said this was not possible but they will instruct the technician to ring the service team to discuss the fridge while he was there, to insure the fridge was assessed correctly. To ensure this was going to happen I, the manager of the appliance rental company, attended todays visit to hopefully finalise this ongoing saga. The technician immediately commented on the hinge/latch again.I reported to him that the new parts he replaced did not fix the freezer door coming ajar when the fridge door closed, because I myself checked the problem the very evening he fixed it. And the problem was not any better. I advised of him having to ring the service team while we were all present. He said he had no instruction to do so. But he did, which was a waste of time because your phone service consistently takes close to an hour to speak to someone. I know because I have had to ring this department many times now.So I communicated I dont believe the door is the initial issue. It may be now as it has been tampered with a few times to fix it. Much to his frustration he started to investigate into the freezer. Oh he reports the fan has been intermittently turning off/ not working, therefore this would defrost the fridge slightly and intermittently. I looked in and the fan area, behind the rear panel was solidly blocked with ice, preventing the fan to turn even if it did work intermittently. He says thats ok we will just order all these parts and replace them in a few weeks. When the fan was reported faulty/broken I believe this was the cause of the very first problem back in October 14 and explains why the freezer has been intermittently defrosting. Your technician said it himself. MEANWHILE the lady is losing all her food (which is expensive), the heat is upon us and christmas is here. AND WE ARE STILL WAITING for a fridge to be working. The lady also wants to be reimbursed for food expenses as her patience has also run out. Initially I wanted the fridge replaced. Now after months of ineffective service, I am expecting a refund as it would be bad business to purchase/rent any of Fisher and Paykel appliances simply due to your warranty service procedures. So what to do now? As it is now heading into the 4th month and I think the 5th visit to fix this fridge, and it is still not fixed, I have no more patience. I will not be ringing anymore to be told all you can do is send the technician out again, to assess and fix it. This seems to be the solution even when the fridge is not being fixed. Please consider this email as a formal complaint to be forwarded to the relevant department. Please also be informed I will be sending this email to Consumer Affairs and providing feedback on Fisher and Paykels Facebook on the very poor warranty service provided by your team.I have been continually bumped to alternative team members whom contradict what can be done about FIXING this fridge. I am an appliance rental company whom purchases a lot of appliances. Under no circumstances will I purchase another appliance manufactured by Fisher & Paykel. I will also be informing the 110 franchisees of the ineffective warranty service your company provides. In our business warranty work costs us time, money and sales!

We wanted to switch from a conventional dishwasher to a drawer type. We’re both getting older and decided we didn’t want to bend down to the floor anymore and so we decided we would go with this, and Fisher & Paykel essentially had a good reputation. We thought we’d try them and we’re pleased. We’ve had it since we moved into a new condominium at the end of June and it’s the Tall DishDrawer. It works very well. I am getting the cleanest, clearest glasses I’ve ever seen come out of a dishwasher. I like the way the inside of the dishwasher is set up because I like the fold down, fold up racks for the glassware which comes in very handy for various sizes. There are a number of clips for putting in very sharp long knives. As a cook, you use very long chef knives. In a regular dishwasher, you can’t really put them in. So I thought that was an excellent feature. Also the cutlery container is very nicely designed so that you can put all of your sharp steak knives point down. It is an exceptionally clean looking and clean staying dishwasher. The entire inside of the dishwasher is stainless steel. It’s really a dream to use. I recommend it to everybody.

I just purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. This is my second pair. My previous set I placed in a rental and decided to get a new set for myself. I had few problems with my older units. I understand my older dryer was actually made by an American company with a Fisher & Paykel nameplate. The new Fisher & Paykel set is a big step backwards for this manufacturer. The new washing machine is noisy and clanks when washing. I don’t know the cause but am assuming it is due to the tub not having a center post in the middle. The control panel has changed too. I would much prefer to be able to just push warm soak or hot wash or cold rinse, rather than pick thru the heavy, bulk, sheet buttons to try and get the wash settings I want. Now, the new dryer is something else altogether! I have a service man coming out to check on the top of the new dryer. This will be his second time out. The top seems to get in the way of the rotating drum and goes boom, boom, and boom every time the dryer drum turns during drying. The tops are flimsy plastic. I have a feeling it warps after being heated when the dryer is on high or low heat or the tops are not properly designed. A top loading dryer was an interesting idea but just wasnt pulled off well. Just buy a front loading dryer. I also have bubbles behind control panel masking. I would suggest interested buyers go to Consumer Reports Magazine and read further evaluations of washer and dryers.

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. We purchased a Fisher Paykel dishwasher and it has broken. It is still under warranty. We have now had 3 calls from the service people. Our part has been in for over a week now and they tell me they cannot schedule the time I need. Every time they call, they cannot give me even a morning or afternoon, just a date. Then they will call one day ahead of time to schedule the service. I have a busy medical practice and have given them actually 2-hour time frames on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and have actually told them 3 times now I am available all day on Wednesdays and that does not work for them. So each time they tell me they have to talk with the service manager again. The dishwasher has now been broken almost two months. I have given times each day and that is not good enough for them. I will never buy a Fisher Paykel again and I plan on telling each and every patient in my practice about this situation. This is not even worth rating; if it were, I would give it a zero. I cannot believe that 3 times I have been called and still am not able to schedule service. Unbelievable. Again, I am not able to cancel patients appointments on the spur of the moment.” Do you people realize how many patients that would be inconvenienced? This is not about me--this is about others! Something someone knows nothing about. I would never stay in business if I ran a business like this with a product like this.

This is one of the most impressive refrigerators. High tech features. But also, its overall format does not waste unnecessary spaces, thus being less bulkier. It holds a lot of items. One constructive criticism: the ice container on the side is not quite user-friendly (though I dont know how to improve it).

I was hesitant to buy a Fisher&Paykel refrigerator; I did not know the brand at all. But with the existing dimensions I had to work with, this was the only brand that would fit. I have been pleasantly surprised. Runs great so far, plenty of room, looks sleek and elegant, and my electric is down by 1/3!! I have only had it for six months, but so far so good.

So far it's been great, I'm pretty sure my electrician installed everything correctly. At first it was totally quiet but now I notice the fans (or whatever) get louder now and then but don't know the pattern yet. Sometimes there's a little pneumatic sound when I open the door, but not always. But it fits my hard to fit space perfectly and so far things are very good (it was installed one week ago).

Warning! We purchased this Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer in 2007. It has worked okay until now. I have not used the dryer in 4 days. Today, I found the dryer hot - very very hot. All the indicator lights were off. The outside of the heating element inside the drum was so hot to the touch it almost burned me. The exterior of the dryer was very very very hot particularly on the backside of the heating element. Fisher and Paykel offered to send a technician at my expense. I wont pay for their safety problem. Junk. Unsafe junk.
