Fisher Range Model CG365DNGRX2N
We have a 5 yr old Fisher Paykel AquaSmart washer. I was washing a load of laundry and the washing machine just stopped! I cant get anything to work. There is a load of laundry and a boat load of water in the tub! I called a repair guy but have not heard anything back yet to set up anything. Meanwhile, my husband is wringing out clothes by hand and using a bucket to get the water out of the washer so it doesnt start to smell. How can I find a repair guy that really knows about this washer? We are not very happy campers right now.
I purchased a range and when it was hooked up, it did not work. After the service man looked at it, he said that a part had to be replaced and it would be 4 days to get the part. After a little complaining they said the part was going to be shipped overnight and the stove would be fixed.Well after 5 days the part arrived and the service guy was back on the 6th day to find out the range was still not working. They finally decided to replace the range and I was told it would be another 5-10 days before they would replace it, keeping in mind it has been 18 days since the delivered the brand new range. I have sent e-mails and called Fisher Paykel only to find that the customer service is the worst I have seen. No one is responding to the e-mails and they kept me on hold for almost 20 minutes. The store where I bought it from has been trying to help but their hands are tied until they get info from Fisher Paykel. At this time I am so angry, I have been eating out with my 9-month pregnant wife and my 2 1/2-year-old son every night. Finally the sales rep called me and they are going to push it through after yelling and screaming on the phone. I would not recommend this company and would never buy their product again. Lets see if I get this range before this month ends.
The guy who has fixed our appliances in our house recommended the Fisher & Paykel washer. He said it was a really good washing machine. He has seen it. He’s installed it a few times. He thinks it’s great. And weve used him for years so we trusted him, so we bought that. We have been happy with the washing machine so far.
I bought my Fisher Paykel machine in 1999 (14 years). I never heard of it before but I did my research and then I went out to look at one. I have never been as pleased with any appliance I have ever purchased as I am with my washing machine. I bought it after my heavy duty Whirlpool motor burned out after 4 years. It has everything I could ask for in a washing machine. The wool cycle is great for todays new wools. I have never had it repaired for any reason. When it got out of balance the first time, I used the service summary and put it back in balance myself and have been fixing it myself ever since. Its easy to do and a lot less costly than calling up a repairman. It works! Thank you, Fisher Paykel. My machine is still running great!
We had a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher before and we purchased a new one because it had two drawers. It seems quieter than the old one. We had a lot of trouble with the old one. This one seems to be working fine and is better.
I bought a Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer in 2012. Since then I have had to have the dryer repaired 4 times and it just quit again. I wish I had never bought them.
I replaced a 12 year old F&P washer only because my daughter hit the machine with the car (in the garage). Looking forward to 12 more good years with the new machine (or more since we dont park in the garage anymore!).
Very disappointed in the top load dryer. My in-laws moved in with their dryer. This dryer has had service repairs two times in the first year they owned it. Now we are using it as well and the one-year warranty is up. They told us that the last time a service man came out, he showed them where the reset switch is. Apparently, every so often, the heat stops working, and the reset switch has to be reset. So it has been two months now, and I have had to reset the switch three times. This is just a ridiculously faulty product, and Im truly concerned; there is a fire hazard with some sort of electrical issue with this dryer. I am getting rid of it ASAP and going back to Maytag, which I might add, I had a Maytag washer for 10 years and a Maytag dryer for 15 years and never once had a repair to them. Now that is true quality.
I purchased a Dish Drawer dishwasher for a kitchen remodel in 2008. I was lured by the fact there are two (2) independent washer units; one on top of the other which allowed flexibility in cleaning as well as potential addition kitchen utensil storage. Troubles began within the first 90-days. I have summoned kitchen appliance repair companies listed as authorized by Fisher Paykel numerous times with the last service attendant indicating there are serious design flaws with the appliance. At this date the following had been experienced: The bottom dishwasher unit is completely non-functional, the touch wash controls in the operating unit do not work correctly; and now are stuck in one washer cycle. I was informed by one of the techs that came out there is a design flaw that allows water to seep into the controls. For $1,500 for a dishwasher I would have expected more. What is more alarming is the sales rep when I bought the appliance indicated the manufacturer also made kidney dialysis machines. If this is the case (and my research indicates this is true) there are numerous fatalities if the quality of the dialysis machines is the same as the Dish Drawer. Do not under any circumstances purchase anything this Company makes. The quality is terrible!!!
We purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and top loading dryer 4 years ago when we built a new house. We were assured by the salesperson of the quality and how they have very little maintenance issues. After a year and a half, we had to replace the heating element and fuses (luckily under warranty) and this took 2-3 weeks for them to figure out was wrong and repair (said it was fixed twice and had to return). Here we are 2 years later, and we had to replace the heating element and fuses again. So this time, it is over $350 out of our pocket since we are out of warranty. The heating element for a dryer should last for more than 2 years and this is obviously a design flaw or something. It looks like we need to replace the machine as we cant continue to pump money into a lemon.
The last ones I had were the Whirlpool front loaders. I didn’t like them. I’ll never buy a front loader again. We bought from a little appliance store here in Benton. At first, we bought a Speed Queen and it pumped up the water so fast that my pipes wouldn’t take it and it flooded my laundry room every time I would wash. So I called them back and they said they had one that the pump didn’t pump that hard. And we went and traded. They were brand new. I had it about four days and got these which I love. They work great! The experience with Fisher & Paykel went real well. I love it and have already recommended it. My daughter wants one. She likes the fact that the tub is all sealed up in there. Her husband is in construction and he forgets to get nails and things out of his pockets and it just messes all up down underneath hers. But this one is all sealed so nothing can get down underneath there.
In 2008, I purchased a washer/dryer from F&P. The person talked me into an F&P when I really wanted something else. Never hearing about this product, he convinced me it’s the best out there and their biggest seller. Boy, he was wrong! The washer sounds like a jet airplane when it spins. Sometimes, I have to spin them twice to get all the water out. The bearings in the dryer have been replaced 2-3 times, the thermostat, sensor module, and central module. Each time was at least $100 or more for a total of 5-6 times. I contacted a representative and was given a case number. Today, I called because the bearings are going again. That means another service charge. The next step will be the curb!
I have been meaning to write this review to ward people away from Fisher & Paykel ovens (we have a range with an oven underneath, gas). First, they are dangerous. If not blowing up your home is important to you, purchase any other oven. One built by your child may be safer. We had their own representatives into our house over 5 times during the first year of purchase. On one occasion they left a gas leak and then had to rush back to repair it. They would not purchase it back but worse, they wouldnt give us a new oven. The flame routinely goes out in the oven, so something will be baking and all of a sudden, it is not. This creates a new type of cooking anxiety I never imagined. Cant thank you enough F&P!I finally took the time to write this today as I turned off a burner on the range and though the knob was often, the flame continued. The fire was on for 20 minutes before my wife smelled the smoke coming from the pan. My name is Alan **, I am a real person, and happily alive, regardless of what F&P does, I live in New York City, you can easily find me online (they dont let you put your email address in). If I havent convinced you not to purchase this range, please find me and give me another opportunity (unless our oven has killed us). And yes, we are buying a new oven.
Extremely poor service on a non-functioning product from day 1. Had numerous service calls dealing directly with FP service techs who failed to diagnose problems. They kept having my techs replace different parts. Took months. Finally sent replacement dryer. Doesnt work that well either. Through with techs. I am moving and am thrilled to leave a year old dryer (replacement) behind.
Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer set from Lowes 3 1/2 years ago and have no complaints about the dryer. It is very efficient and dries quickly and thoroughly, but the washer is another story. I have had many garments to come out mangled. The detergent never seems to rinse completely, and over the last 6 months, the washer has only been spinning intermittently. Now, it is not draining or spinning and I am waiting days for a service call. After reading these reviews, I dont feel very hopeful for a quick or permanent resolution. The salesperson at Lowes touted the brand highly. When the repairman comes Monday, if he gives an expensive quote, I will be calling the scrap metal man to pick it up and will go buy another brand. Very disappointed as I paid over $500 for this machine. Never again. And I will tell all my friends.
Washsmart 8.5 kg. If you pause the wash in the deep rinse cycle so you can add fabric softener it will drain the water. If you use the fabric softener dispenser, the softener is dispensed during the spray rinse. The lid lock activates during the deep rinse cycle, the reason I was told was because a child drowned in the w/machine. BTW the lid lock does not activate during the wash cycle. I hate this machine, I am 64yo and this was to be my last investment in the washer dept. I am going to see if I can get this thing re-programmed! Totally useless. Had the Smartdrive7.2. $800 down the drain.
I purchased an FP washing machine in 2008. I was assured of the quality and low maintenance of this washer. Fortunately, I had the factory warranty and then the extended warranty and I have needed every bit of it. This washer is simply a piece of metal junk. I am so angry and dissatisfied with how FP, Lowes and A&E repair has dealt with this. I had it repaired at least 6 times under the FP warranty and when it was broken it was down for weeks. Parts took forever. Then on to Lowes and A&E. I have had nothing but trouble with the washer. Lowes will not replace my machine and FP refuses to do anything. I just had it repaired in April and it was out of service for a month then. Now it’s leaking water underneath - clearly the bearings are going out and again Im going to be without a washer. This is absolute garbage. Do not buy FP washers - not to mention that now the leaking washing has destroyed my Pergo kitchen floor. I’m very angry.
I bought a F&P washer and dryer set and I could not be more pleased. The washer is the quietest I have ever owned. Easy to operate, stylish and beautiful. Super happy here!!!
We bought a washer and dryer and in December 2014. We paid a total of $2132.86 for the Fisher Paykel brand. The dryer broke within one month, it needs a new blower which will take 5 1/2 weeks for the part to come in. Very disappointed and frustrated with this expensive appliance and the service is very difficult to get. Actually, the line I strung up in my basement has been drying my clothes perfectly!
When my old washing machine started leaking and my worry-free contract with Public Service Electric and Gas can’t fix it, I decided to go to Lowe’s and look for a replacement. The Fisher & Paykel washing machine was on clearance because it was the last one, so I ended up getting it for $329. I hadn’t heard of the appliance. I wasn’t looking for that specific brand. When I came home after I bought it, I did some research on it. I have no complaints with it. I’m single and don’t do a lot of washing, a couple of loads every couple of weeks. It seems to work fine. My Fisher & Paykel washing machine is reliable and energy-efficient.
Eco-Smart Washer WA37T26GW2 - I purchased this machine at Lowes for my new home because the salesman raved about Fisher Paykel quality which was my first mistake. I was smart enough to take out the extended warranty from Lowes. After just one year single guy doing ONE LOAD per week. The balance sensor and electronics panel had to be replaced - three service calls, because they received the wrong parts calls and a month later it was fixed. After two weeks same problem and three weeks. Finally problem was resolved and because of the warranty no cost to me. OK fine inconvenience but no biggie. Two years after this issues with the motor or something all in all cost me $350 TO FIX. I WAS PISSED. Now after 5 years of crappy reliability it again seems to have the original issue.. NO friggin way am I fixing this poorly designed and manufactured washer again. Time for a cheapo depo Chinese washer that will no doubt out last this $750 (original cost) POS! over $1000 lesson learned. Stay away from Fisher Paykel appliances.
EcoSmart Washer - I bought this machine from Lowes about 6 years ago and have loved it! No problems, cleans well, etc., until now. I called the customer service number because the machine would not power on. I was told to call one of the 2 approved service companies in Kansas City. Neither one was rated well for their service! Lots of complaints. They would not return my calls. It took almost 2 weeks to get an appointment and the tech was late, rude, etc. Refused him access and called a different company with same day service. Its now 2 weeks after that (4 total, going to the laundromat!). The current company cant seem to order the correct part, are late or no shows for appointments and cant seem to give me a dollar or time estimate for service. I could not be more frustrated. I really liked my machine, but am going to replace it. Service is a nightmare...
7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. 3 pumps in 5 years - We purchased our Fisher & Paykel washer in 2008 at Beesons, Lafayette, IN. They also did the warranty work for us. They replaced the pump while under warranty. A few years ago, my husband replaced the pump himself. Now, my pump is out again; the part is $130. We have decided to not put any more money into this appliance. I plan to go shopping for a new washer and will not be buying a Fisher& Paykel appliance ever again. Im curious. Is this normal for a Fisher & Paykel?
I bought a new house and I needed a refrigerator for it. We had a very unique space that could not change. I had a space requirement that no other manufacturer made a refrigerator in the size, depth, width and height that I needed except Fisher & Paykel. It has everything that we wanted in it. We’ve had a very good experience with Fisher & Paykel and would definitely recommend them.
Well, our washing machine stopped working the other day. It would fill up with water, try to swish back and forth, but seemed very slow and almost stuck. By the time I got home, the water smelled funny from the wash. I tried to cycle it to the rinse and spin cycle to get the smelly water out at least, with no avail. I unplugged it, hoping it would reset. It would then start the wash cycle again, and it would chug a little then just hum, then stop and make an alarm - beeeeeep, beeep (like a fire alarm). So I emptied out the yucky water, and took out the clothes hoping maybe something was catching in it and it would start again. Chugged a little faster, but still stopped and wouldnt spin or drain. Emptied water again.Ok, Im tempted to take it apart but realized maybe it would void the warranty, so decided to google it and it directed me to this site. Boy was I in for a surprise. Based on the comments and reviews, I immediately thought of getting a new machine that was not Fisher Paykel. These units were bought for us in a new home in 2008 from the contractor, so I wasnt sure if my warranty was still good or not. To my surprise, I called the toll free number on this site, and immediately got a representative that deals directly with problems. No wait time. Lisa was very informative, patient, and understanding of the issue. We went through the flow sheet together to try and diagnose the issue. Still no resolution. She offered to send out a Fisher tech at a rate of $85.00 for the consultation and whatever time it would take them to fix it. She guessed maybe only 30 minutes.Lisa offered to supply the parts free of charge, although I might have been out of warranty. Parts could have ranged up to $350. I weighed out the cost versus buying a new unit, and I realize I still would be coming out ahead with the tech. Plus he would be there the next day. Tech showed up early at 9:30am and diagnosed that mattress pad material that we laundered and got stuck in the motor mechanism. Replace motor mechanism as a precaution but would have worked otherwise. Funny thing, I almost suspected that because after I removed the dirty stinky water, it smelled liked something was burnt due to being stuck. But once again, Im just a doctor and no handyman at all, but I still try to do things myself when I can. I always research first, then do.My experience with the company is 4.5 out of 5 stars. Lisa gets 5 stars, the 0.5 stars less was because the tech was there for only 10 minutes top and charged us $65 still? So I wasnt sure about that, but I wasnt home, and my wife didnt know what to expect. I would have challenged his rate, to see if he prorates it or not, but maybe they bill by the hour regardless. I wished he changed my control panel and water pump as a precaution because this seemed to be a known problem, but I wasnt there to ask him. Why? Because if that fails soon, then I will have to pay the service call again along with his time. I hope this doesnt happen, because I might not be so understanding after that. So my bills $150.00. Im very satisfied with how this went down. My machine works, but Im still cautiously optimistic about the longevity of this product. However, I do feel Fisher and Lisa will take care of me if future problems arise. Thanks Lisa, and good luck everyone!
After numerous phone calls hours on the line and a month I still havent got my fridge fixed by Fisher & Paykel. The customer service is abysmal. Rude customer service officers. There is no complaints department and escalating your issue to a supervisor goes nowhere with no phone call ever answered. Do not buy products from Fisher & Paykel especially Haier fridges. They are just cheap and breakdown and you will never get them fixed because the customer service team does not care one bit. I even had a customer service representative call me dude on the phone and told me to calm down. Avoid at all cost.
Took months to get appliances and now it is taking months to fix my 5 year old dishwasher. Paid over $2200. A dishwasher this expensive should last longer than 5 years when it is kept well by owners. Both drawers dont work even though only one is broken. Their suggested repair guy said that the circuit boards used to be separate now there is one for both machines, so if one goes, they both go. Neither he nor I were impressed. After 2 months of waiting for part I called to complain and after an hour on hold was put through to customer service, who were supposed to call me back. I did receive a call that day, but could not hear person, I told them and asked them to call back. You guessed it! Have not heard back from this crappy company. Love, love, love my dishwasher drawers, even though it doesnt clean well consistently. Just nice having two dishwashers. If I could find another company that makes them I would switch. This is not a good company. Plus, my oven is so small, my pizza pan would not fit in this oven and the fridge dints terribly. Do not buy this brand. Go with KitchenAid. Maytag dishwashers suck too. My nice, working KitchenAid dishwasher is sitting in basement. But its white, so doesnt match. But I never had a problem with my KitchenAid fridge or dishwasher. Kenmore oven died, thats why I replaced everything. Wrong choice...
This 2020 model 9kg heat pump dryer simply will not dry sheets. It tangles them in a ball, dries them for 2 hours and they remain damp. Even if you run successful cycles, they continually tangle and take many cycles to dry (and I taking just 2 sheets - not heaps). Towels are also very slow - several hours, but they do eventually get there. To do your washing takes a whole day with the endless problems - untangling sheets and re-running the cycle. Plus there is zero customer support. *If* you can get through, you get some poor chap who doesnt speak English well and he cannot help you. Hopeless. I have been a loyal F&P customer for 30+ years but will never buy another appliance from them. I assume that since Haier have acquired a controlling interest, but have also stated that they want the Haier brand to be the premium brand, that they are deliberately letting the F&P brand go in to decline.
I purchased a new F&P washer to replace the old one that I have. After delivery and hook up, I found that once you put the clothes into the machine and started the washer, the lid locked until the end of the cycle. I am not able to open the lid without turning off the wash cycle. In the old machine, the lid locked when the spin cycle was on. Now, I am unable to see what the washer is doing or how much it is filling. I called the customer care department to find out what could be done to override this feature during the fill and rinse cycle and an answer from a supervisor, named Bernice, is that I should wash by hand if I am so concerned about how my clothes are being washed. In the past, I have found this company to be difficult when trying to purchase parts; but this goes way beyond attitude. If you want control over your wash do not buy a F&P washer. Once you start the machine, its out of your hands. This is not a consumer friendly machine
I’m pissed off because the dryer was about four years old and I had to have it worked on about three times and ended up throwing it away. On the top load, the plastic parts just broke and the door wouldn’t come up and jammed. It got brittle and broke out. I spent about $900 for this dryer. Right at four years and it just fell apart. The bearings went out about two times. And one of the switches went out. And the door got misaligned. The parts must have been breaking then and so it caught and bent the door. I loved that dryer but I had to get a front load. The top load was more convenient for me. I am not satisfied because of the parts. They need to change the parts. The hard plastic parts dry out and become brittle when it gets heated enough and the bearings they use on there should be linear bearings as they are much smoother rolling and quieter bearings. I could have gone and got another type of dryer than go back to Fisher & Paykel, but I went back to Fisher & Paykel because that’s what I believe in and I got the service out of it, but, if I have another disappointment, they won’t get anything else from me again
DD60DCX7 Dishwasher - Purchased in Jan 2015. Feb, motor fault out for 1 week, waiting for it to be repaired. March, could not select cycle, jammed again, out for 1 week for it to be repaired. March, same problem as last one, cycle jammed again, out for 1 week for it to be repaired by cutting away moulding??? April, same problem, insisted the dishwasher be replaced. New dishwasher in 5-5-2015. June, guess what E9-04 fault, dishwasher out again. This unit has been out of order longer than it has been OK. I need this issue resolved as a $1400 investment in a dishwasher with nothing but faults.
Washer eco boost: It gets out of balance all the time. It throws water on the floor. The panel does not work all the time. Now it wont power on. It’s a little over 2 years old. I’m not happy. My hubby is really not happy, especially with a load of wet clothes in the tub. It’s junk!
On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. So Fisher Paykel has gone beyond the call of duty here, and we certainly appreciate their reaching out to consumers of their product. Thank you.
Lowes told us these appliances were top of the line. We have had nothing but problems with the washer and dryer. They might cost like they are top of the line, but they are the worst brand appliances I ever bought.Thank God for my extended warranty. The washer has been serviced two times in four years and the dryer once. Do not buy these appliances, you will regret it. My daughter-in-laws mother has the same washer and the same problems! What a piece of **.
The oven malfunctioned 2 months after purchase. We cook almost every day but use the oven less during the summer and had been out of town much of July so it was only used a few times before the malfunction. After 2 months, multiple service visits and calls to Fisher & Paykel, the unit was replaced under warranty. My impression is that it took considerable effort by myself, the warranty service provider, and the store I purchased the unit from to make any progress. (I never did hear from the rep who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hour following calls to Fisher & Paykel). The two malfunctions came on days we were hosting dinner guests (naturally) and we are worried about it working for a family gathering at Thanksgiving.
Ive had a Fisher Paykel washer & dryer for 8 years and overall happy with it. My problem is the dryer has stopped drying as quickly (taking 2+ hours for one load). Ive called local repairmen and was told they cant repair this brand. I found one in a neighboring town who will come and look at it but will cost a minimum $115 for a service call. Why cant all repairmen work on this particular brand?
Bought a 2 drawer dishwasher. Very quiet and nice.
We have had nothing but problems with this machine (top load washer)... It has mother boards replaced, water pumps, service people out a number of times, and again the water pump is out again and the company said they will give me a discount on a new one. They must think Im stupid. Why in the world would I want to purchase another with all the problems Im having with this one? The last water pump is right at a year old and it is out again. The company said they would not replace it again. I would have to buy it and have it replaced. There are only two people in our household and the cost every time the repair guy shows up ends up costing me more. It works very well when its working.
I am expressing my concern and frustration with Fisher Paykel. I lodged call on the 6/3/2017 as my Fisher Paykel washing machine MW513 was leaking. I did a number of tests to see where the water was coming from and it all directed back to the washing machine. When the washing machine was on high (with clothes in it), it would start leaking from the washing to rinse cycle onwards. (this was clarified to Fisher Paykel on my phone call). When they had initially sent someone out here there was a lot of mucking around and the technician was meant to come on Friday 10/3/2017, he ended going to the wrong place and cancelling my job, which then led to a series of mistakes on FP end. This led to a number of phone calls and a lot of time out from work to rectify their mistake. They then had to send a new technician the following week (16/03/2017), whereby my mum was here and explained and showed the technician the photos and his response to her was when we wash the clothes on high place the same amount of clothes to the equivalent amount of water and do the cycle. When he conducted his tests there was no water leaking, as he never tried it with the clothes inside. He then cut the pipe shorter as he advised my mum it was too long. He then left for the next job. I came home and did exactly what he said (also advised in his job summary report to me) and again, the leakage started. I then called FP and advised what occurred and what the tech said to my mum.Over the phone they were going to take over 1.5 weeks to come and service my machine when I also advised that a small tile was starting to lift and causing water damage. The after-hours lady told me to call back the next business day as she couldnt do anything about it but could only book the appointment in. I called back the next day and advised the same thing, to which the gentlemen said he will make this a high priority (again to no avail and to a number of mistakes where they had a dryer to service instead of washing machine). A number of calls later and a different tech guy came out on the 22/3/2017. When he came I was here and advised him all of the above and advised for him to see the photos which he never wanted to and stated he believed me. He ran two water tests on high and no leakage happened (these were fast tracked from filling up the washing machine to the spin cycle, missing the washing rinse part).I did state to him that the leak ONLY happens when the water and clothes are in the machine and set on high. He still never put any clothes in. His advice to me was to wash my clothes on medium or low and the splash backs will not occur. If that was the case what is the relevance of buying a washing machine to only put the machine on medium and low? After he had left I called the customer service line 22/3/2017 (as clearly I was disappointed, stressed and upset), to which the customer service boy was very rude and basically stated that I am lying. The reason being is I advised him what happened and that I had photos of this and his response was anyone can take a photo and pretend their washing machine is leaking. I do not believe this is the way to address someone who is already stressed out that her apartment is going to flood and cause damage to below / surrounding apartments, as well as my own.I was then told by the same person to wash my clothes again and video it. I said I am a woman and I cannot lift the washing machine as it is heavy and you are now asking me to have the same leak occur and for me to clean up the mess yet again? His response was like yeah. What kind of people are they employing and how can they even think of treating their customers like this and getting away with it? I have already taken numerous time of out of work and constantly have to watch the machine when I wash.I didnt buy this washing machine so I can only place it on a certain level. It is under one years old and only until this year March, the problem occurred. There was no other history and when I made these complaints, it was indirectly stated back to me that nothing is wrong and I felt they thought I did know what I was talking about (deeming as I am woman). But, as my mum and my friend had witnessed, the water was coming from the machine. I will not be breaking my back lifting and cleaning again.I also asked a few times if I can get a cash settlement back and to speak to a team leader (none of which was done or considered at the time of the calls). The reason being is so I can buy a more reliable machine and can wash my clothes on high. I have uploaded photos and receipt of when I purchased the washing machine. I would like to be able to either get a reimbursement for the machine or a better quality machine, as I am wasting heaps of money on water bills. This by far, is the worst customer service I have ever received and do not advise anyone to purchase their products.
A girlfriend of mine had the two drawer dishwasher that she bought about 5 years ago and I just loved that. So when we went to remodel our kitchen, we put in Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. We also have the DCS stove and microwave or cooktop, microwave & oven. All of our appliances are Fisher & Paykel. Everything was good until just recently when we were not too happy. We had to wait 3 weeks to get a part for our oven that stopped working and its only 6 months old... We like the actual appliances. Its just the fact that its so long to get any kind of parts in and then we had also paid for the extended warranty on them so we paid quite a bit extra just to have them and then had to deal with waiting.
About the washer, dryer, and dishwasher. The washer has done great. The dryer is constantly broken. The dishwasher simply does not clean dishes well at all. Ive had Kenmore and Maytag and would recommend either over these worthless, expensive pieces of junk. The dryer heating element has burned out six times or more. Clearly, there is some defect that should warrant a recall. Dishes have to be pretty much washed by hand before putting them in the dishwasher. It is worthless.
My washer went out and the guy that came to repair it recommended Fisher & Paykel. Its easy to use. It dont breakdown easily.
I’ve had a Fisher & Paykel set since 1999. I don’t know about now but the dryer I have is actually made by GE (General Electric). As at that time they didn’t make dryers. I have never had a problem with the dryer. When I bought the set from an appliance dealer, they told me it was easy and inexpensive to work on the washer, and the dryer was a GE. I had to replace the control panel on the washer, around 10 years in as I think lightning hit it. It was plug and play. I put it on and the part was $80. I let one of those color Catcher sheets get into my pump, as I tried to save and cut one in half for a small load, that caused a problem. Had to get it removed by a repairman. I would never buy an appliance from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Actually only an appliance store that has service department. You may save a little, but you lose it quickly down the road. It seems odd that 7 people on here have complaints. Fisher & Payless is actually made in New Zealand. I haven’t needed to call in 10 years, but the last time I spoke to someone in New Zealand. I wanted a Maytag when I bought this set, but they are no longer in business. They were bought out by Whirlpool. Too many problems with their products. I try to buy top of the line.... My builder put GE Profile appliances in my house, and they have been fine since 1999. However I do take care of my things, and they take care of me. Something I was taught by my parents 50+ years ago....
I purchased at the same time a Fisher Paykel Washer (model WA37T26G: ECOSMART) and Fisher Paykel Dryer (model WA42T26GW1: ECOSMART) in 2008/09. First problem was the spinning on the washer stopped. I called a repair person; it cost me over $200 to fix. Second problem, the dryer just quit working, deader than a doornail! I called a repairman. They said it would cost more for the part than what the dryer is worth! I tossed the Fisher Paykel dryer and bought a Maytag. Now, just this week, the washer stopped spinning again. This time, being ECOSMART, I looked online for COMMON PROBLEMS with these models and found that the water pump gets wet from a leak in the washer and rusts and freezes the water pump which in turn blows out the fuse in the control board. My husband took it apart and it was confirmed... The pump is junk and rusted and the CONTROL BOARD is dead. With a 50 cent fuse, it could fix the problem, but NO, Fisher Paykel doesnt tell you that. They want you to spend $185+ for a new control board to fix their POOR DESIGN! Now, we have to fork out more money to replace this junk water pump to avoid paying for a new washer. Guess what? The new pumps have fuses on them to prevent the control board from blowing out. Well, how bout recalling them and fix the design?!! Just a thought! A Fisher Paykel will not be in my house after this washer DIES again! (Oh, Shame on you, Consumer Reports! I went by your recommendation for these models!) ECOSMART? I think not!
I discovered this appliance manufacturer on a public little forum online called Garden Web, which is for home improvement and stuff like that. We were looking for a counter-depth refrigerator and that reduces the number of things we can buy. And then, once we did that, we really didn’t want to lose space by having that entire icemaker on the door. And we didn’t want a water dispenser because we’ve got young kids. So this was the product which had the features that we were looking for - it did not have the icemaker in the door (it was inside the freezer section) and it doesn’t have the water dispenser. It’s our first appliance from F&P and we’re happy with it. A lot of people have mixed reviews and stuff like that, but so far so good. It’s a very good product and it looks nice too. I would recommend to others. I hope it doesn’t break.
Our experience was extraordinarily good. I was impressed. The equipment is nice, the design is nice. I’m an engineer so I say this. But the brand name on the outside is DCS. We bought the six-burner gas oven, too. And we just bought a new oven for our rental property. There’s only a couple of companies in the world that I’d recommend for appliances at all, and Fisher & Paykel is one of them. The service and the people that sold them to us in all cases, we bought several, were first class. The people were knowledgeable, thorough, responsive, and the stuff arrived on time. The pricing was very competitive and the quality of the devices is, from a mechanical perspective and electronic perspective, excellent. And in terms of its user friendliness to my wife who uses them most of the time, the biggest problem with the dishwasher is you can’t hear it. The wonderful thing about the six-burner stove is it has a simmer control and most stoves don’t have that. I was a professional chef and so I know the Viking and Garland brands pretty well. And the DCS stove comes as close to a Garland as you’re going to get at a very good price. And that’s very important to know because people don’t understand. Most people aren’t chefs. So the stuff has been super. I’ve been very pleased. Keep up the good work because remember, the two most important things in the world are that they should work but the customer service has to be first class and it always has been. My wife’s very best friend is building a new house and we recommended all of Fisher & Paykel stuff to her yesterday.
I chose this counter depth refrigerator RF175WDX1 as part of a kitchen remodel. After 3 months or so, all is good. It is quiet and looks good in the kitchen. I purposely chose this model without water & ice, but the one thing I would suggest is a separate, narrow shelf for ice trays.
Over the course of three years we have had 6 service calls on the Fisher Paykel dish drawer dishwasher. The hoses crack and water has leaked onto my wood floor causing damage 3 times. Another time, the electric board needed replacing, and just two weeks ago the entire magnet and inner workings on the top drawer need to be replaced. The total cost of this last repair is $600. Before this current dishwasher, we owned the first generation Fisher Paykel dish drawer. It was as horrible as our current one. There is absolutely no customer service or help from Fisher Paykel. They blame every defective part and problem on the water, or detergent, or operator error etc. Do not ever buy a Fisher Paykel unless you have piles of money and time lying around. I cant believe the money we have wasted over the years on these subpar pieces of trash. I refuse to fix it again. I am throwing it out and getting a Bosch.
I like my Fisher & Paykel refrigerator and dishwasher. Theyre very good. What I dont like about them is the price but Im happy with the products. I have no problems but they are more expensive. The look is nice and everything is nice.
I purchased a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer in June 2006. One month before the warranty expired (in May 2008), the pump in the washer went out and was leaking water from underneath the washer onto the floor. That pump was replaced at no cost to us. However, in August 2009, the pump again went out and was leaking water all over the floor. That pump was not under warranty and we had to pay for it along with an $80 service call! Right on time, in November 2011, the pump went out again and was leaking water so another $80 service call and the pump was $190. I know others who are having similar problems with this washer and the pump and Im telling everyone I know, Do not buy this brand of appliance (not washers, not dryers, not dishwasher or refrigerators) because they dont last.We now have more money spent on repairs than the cost of the washer so were thinking well buy a good ol Kenmore next time!
Bought a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer less than two years ago. Around the beginning of March there was an error code warning on the machine and it was leaking water onto my hardwood floors. I contacted Fisher and Paykel and was told to work with the one service repair company in Austin Texas. They finally came out on March 9th to look at my machine. The technician told me the symptoms of my machine did not make sense but if he swapped out a few parts it would probably resolve the issue. Finally two weeks later I was told the parts were indefinitely on backorder. At this point I called Fisher and Paykel directly. I was given the royal run around. I contacted the company 12 times over the course of 6 days. Each time I was assured that someone would call me back in the next hour or so. Never got that call. When I called back in to follow up on the issue, I was told a different story and that it was out of the representatives hands or that they were a New Zealand company and the person in charge was gone for the day. I was told the companies issue was due to the long shoremans strike and my part would likely arrive in late April. I stressed that the technician was not totally sure the parts would fix my machine, so I was supposed to wait six weeks for parts which may not even get my machine working again.
I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher through Lowes. The reason I chose this is because its the only brand that makes that little drawer dishwasher anymore. I absolutely needed that size unit because we have very small condominium kitchen and I just simply could not have a drawer that laid down, theres no space, so I like the unit very much. Its working fine and the quality seemed good. The stainless is good. The installation was fairly easy. It was done by a contractor and Ive been happy with it. It was an easy purchase. Lowes did okay. There are a lot of people who are living in smaller spaces as things get smaller so I think those compact appliances are really great.
I have the dish drawers and both handles have broken. I know how to open the dish drawers as I had dish drawers prior to getting these except that handle was one piece on the door. I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load. I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You cant open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends dish drawers. I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!
One feature is that I can choose a fast wash or a full water wash and that I can choose a soak or not to soak. I can wash and rinse in all hot or warm or cold. Also, the was is in an open drum with no center agitator. It's less hard on clothes.
I just purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. This is my second pair. My previous set I placed in a rental and decided to get a new set for myself. I had few problems with my older units. I understand my older dryer was actually made by an American company with a Fisher & Paykel nameplate. The new Fisher & Paykel set is a big step backwards for this manufacturer. The new washing machine is noisy and clanks when washing. I don’t know the cause but am assuming it is due to the tub not having a center post in the middle. The control panel has changed too. I would much prefer to be able to just push warm soak or hot wash or cold rinse, rather than pick thru the heavy, bulk, sheet buttons to try and get the wash settings I want. Now, the new dryer is something else altogether! I have a service man coming out to check on the top of the new dryer. This will be his second time out. The top seems to get in the way of the rotating drum and goes boom, boom, and boom every time the dryer drum turns during drying. The tops are flimsy plastic. I have a feeling it warps after being heated when the dryer is on high or low heat or the tops are not properly designed. A top loading dryer was an interesting idea but just wasnt pulled off well. Just buy a front loading dryer. I also have bubbles behind control panel masking. I would suggest interested buyers go to Consumer Reports Magazine and read further evaluations of washer and dryers.
We bought a brand new Fisher Paykel dryer at Lowes. When we went to hook it up, it did not heat. When we called Fisher Paykel, they said it was no longer under warranty because it was manufactured in 2007. Lowes would not stand behind it either. When I tried to get a service person to look at it, everyone told us they would not work on Fisher Paykel products. Now, I have a brand new dryer that doesnt heat and cannot get repaired. Would never buy an F&P product again and would recommend others to think twice before purchasing one.
This is our third dishwasher with them, same kind, I am sold on Fisher & Paykel. They are number 1!! And if its installed properly, its an excellent product. I like the efficiency, in how well it works. Its probably one of the finest washers built, capable, versatile, energy efficient, and does an excellent job cleaning.
I like the Fisher & Paykel two drawer dishwasher. Unfortunately the top drawer computer board has never worked since the day it was installed - it wont shut off. We talked to them and originally they were going to send somebody but then they said it was out of warranty. We had bought it but didnt install it until a year after. It stayed in the crate as we were renovating the house. Were still in the process of getting something done. Id hate to buy a whole new computer board for something that didnt work since the day it was installed. The bottom drawer works fine so it has nothing to do with the installation or electricity. It has good design but not the best quality.
The recommended and authorized repairman arrived and discovered that the main circuit board was not functioning, so my top drawer was unable to work. He had the wrong part so he left, and was to return four days later. On that occasion, although he installed the board, there was then an additional problem with a wire. He left again, and had to order that part. Five days later I had to call to find out what was going on. The HiTech service, or rising service solution person, as their caller ID reads, informed me that they were service techs, not a warehouse, and so parts had to be ordered. Every time the guy comes, its another long trip, paid by me from their location. How can you be an authorized service and not carry parts? Also, I find the Fisher Paykel website very unhelpful re: technicians. I talked to a living person, and she had no more information than I did, so that also was useless. I love my dishwasher, but the arrangements for service are inept. I will not use them again.
Im a kitchen and bath designer so I know about Fisher & Paykel. We have them in the showroom at the last place I worked, and I inherited that when I bought the display, when we downsized after the crash, and I just replaced it. I put it in my sister and brother-in-laws house, and they love it. Its a great appliance for Californians and retired people who are you know downsizing their homes, as their kids go off to school. Its also great for young couples with kids because they can do one load. The dishwasher is great because of the two drawers. Besides, its a New Zealand product.
Fisher and Paykel gwl15 washer: the circuit board fuse blew due to a faulty drain pump. This is the 3rd time this problem has happened. Do not purchase until F&P designers fix this.
In 2019 we purchased a kitchen full of appliances; Cook Top, Over, Microwave, two drawer dishwasher, and large bottom draw with two top doors refrigerator/freezer. Quality issues: Microwave cover/front panel is cheap, loose, and I had to do some customization to get it to quit falling off. We like the two-drawer dishwasher, but found it constantly needs adjustments to keep the lower drawer from dragging on the floor, and almost always have to run a max clean setting or re-wash when drawers are full. Over so far is great. Cooktop is great, but the nobs squeak now after just 8 months of use. The refrigerator is our biggest issue… constantly makes excessive motor/fan noise, door/drawer trim constantly falls off, or jams up… Doors don’t align well, and don’t stay aligned.Service issues: The biggest joke ever! Tried for 8 months to get someone our here “AT MY COST even”, to give all these appliances a full re-build, inspection, and/or confirmation that they were installed/assembled correctly. CANNOT find anyone interested is servicing these units, and NO ONE at Fisher & Paykel is interested in finding me support of any kind… nor were the representatives from the appliance store I purchased the units from. Recommendation: - If considering High-End appliances buy THERMADOR, stay away from Fisher & Paykel
I picked this refrigerator out in 2005. It uses 485 kWh per year. I got to choose which side of the door handle is on. Freezer on bottom. Supposedly if I have any problems with. I get a new one free.
I have owned a F&P double dishwasher for 7 years. Approximately 6 months ago, the machine began to leak on the top level and the dishes were not clean on the bottom. I looked on the F&P website and found the information for several nearby repairmen. I contacted the first person and he came to check the machine. He charged $80 to look at it & stated that he needed to order a part. We called him several times in the next few weeks, but he said the part was not in. After a few more calls, we gave up and called a 2nd repair from the list. Unfortunately, we had the same experience (and paying $143) - after calling 3 or 4 times, the repairman never returned our call.I called F&P customer service and explained what happened. The customer service person gave us another repair shop to call and stated that F&P would likely reimburse us for the house call fees, which was now over $200 with no repairs done. The new company that we called stated that they only fix machines that they have sold & that F&P should NOT have given out their information. I called back and got yet another name, which, thankfully turned out to be legitimate. Our machine was finally fixed (at a cost of $372). My dissatisfaction is with the referring of several repair companies who clearly could not fix our machine, and paying money for no service. When I contacted F&P about the events above, I was told that they would NOT reimburse me the house call money. I assure you that I would not purchase another of their products!
This expensive dishwasher from Fisher & Paykel has ended as junk after only 4 years of light use by two persons. It has been repaired 4 times, and now, it needs to be repaired for $1,000. We now buy Miele. We have skipped this junk machine.
[COMPLAINT] POOR SERVICE! I had a scheduled repair / service on my washing machine today. The service was supposed to occur between 7 am and 12 pm. At 12:45 pm I rang customer service. They advised that there were many people off sick and the technician was running late. (My reply is why didnt someone ring me to let me know they would be late?) He would be at my house in 30 to 60 minutes. At 3:45 I rang to speak to someone to find out what was going on. I spoke to Daniel who then advised that the technician had tried contacting me but couldnt reach us. He double checked my details and everything they had was correct. He advised they could come back tomorrow as the technician went home. I advised I couldnt wait any more than what I had done today. I asked to speak to a supervisor, her name was Tanya. Tanya then said the same. I said this wasnt good enough that I had taken this much time off and she agreed. She asked what I wanted and I suggested Fisher and Paykel should pay for the repairs. She said they couldnt do this, but that something should be done. I asked what and she said she couldnt make that decision now and she would be back on Thursday to let me know. Fisher and Paykel you need to seriously pick up your customer service game. This is not appropriate.
The F & P washer and dryer were on sale at Sears and it was a really good sale. But it has one problem... when it spins, it spins out water out of the thing.
I did a little bit of research on the internet, and then I saw a Fisher Paykel dishwasher for sale. I liked the idea of the drawers. I thought that was a very good idea. And it went along with my beautiful wood cabinets so I went ahead and purchased it. It is a used item, however. The top drawer is a little bit quieter than the bottom drawer. I often wonder if maybe it might need a new belt or something. It seems to be a bit loud. But I would recommend it to a friend. Its an unusual item. It is better than what I was using in the past. And even with the sound quality, I would still go ahead and recommend it to another one.
I bought two appliances from Fisher Paykel - a double wall oven, $4K, and a range top $2K. I had decided to buy another brand, but was told in the store, that Fisher Paykel was offering a $600 rebate, for buying two appliances. A wall oven, Plus a cook top, or washer, etc. So I bit that carrot, and paid more for the Fisher Paykel, than I would have for the Kitchen Aid or the Wolf cooktop.I have had to spend so much time to try to receive this rebate. Probably 20 emails, several phone calls, numerous submissions of the claim form. There was some problem with it, every time. In the end, they said, I didnt qualify: because this is for a Wall oven, and cooktop. You purchased a Range Cooktop. Its still the same, it has 6 burners, and the range top style is actually more expensive than the basic cooktop. Its just rubbish, that they dont honor these rebates. I have tried to submit over and over, and it has been so frustrating. I have no idea if the appliances work well or not. But the rebate process does not. Dont fall for that.
Looking at other reviews, my oven was discontinued. The last service man that came out said they dont make the part anymore. If did find it would take months. Why didnt Fisher Paykel say something to me. I been working with one oven & cannot clean it since before christmas. I love baking. Thats why I bought a double oven. This oven has had at least 78 times service people. Money! More money. The worst product I ever purchased.
I surprised my wife with a brand-new Fisher Paykel double-drawer dishwasher because I got tired of cleaning and servicing her old one. They are not inexpensive. Within one month, the start button receded into the chassis. The service person found that the lighted collar around the start button was made of cheap plastic and had simply broken making the machine inoperable. I would think for the amount of money that durn machine cost, they could afford to at least make the plastic parts durable enough to last more than a month.
We purchased this very expensive machine and it simply does NOT clean dishes well. We had the dealer out multiple times (they were great) - 2 of those so he could call FP technicians and work with them. I always had to call FP back. They asked me to get the dealer back out - the dealer said no. FP said they would elevate to DM and after 2 months (called back twice) I called again and got disconnected after waiting 20 minutes. My 30 year old Maytag cleans better. The rack broke as well on the FP. The people on the phone were nice - no one ever followed up and bothers calling back when they disconnect you. I would never buy their brand again. The machine is pretty but poorly designed - unless you have tiny, thin dishes there is no way to pack it without things touching and they will tell you that is why it is not clean. First - bad designed racks. Second that is simply not true - I am sure it would clean better but I know how I could stuff the heck out of my Maytag and it always cleaned. I started packing their half full to test their theory and I still got uncleaned, grimy, crusty dishes. Bad product - Worse Service. I cant afford a new one. I spent the extra money on this b/c I figured it would save money. I might as well do the dishes by hand.
Purchased washer and dryer 4 yrs ago for my new home from Homemakers appliance store. Washer has been doing good but dryer is now broken, lights but will not start. One month ago, had same problem. Called an appliance specialist to fix it said motor was down. 3 days later it started working. Im frustrated. Customer service does not respond to calls either.
The washer works fine but when it breaks down, the company does not provide skilled, prompt, reliable repairs. I have not had a working machine for four months, despite five visits by three different repairmen, four different diagnoses, and four different pieces being replaced! I cant even count the number of phone calls Ive had to make to schedule the repairs. Im sick of F&Ps lame excuses, unbelievably bad parts supply chain and lousy repairmen. The company simply cannot support its products. Do not buy!
Im very happy with my DCS 30 range. The range provides me with plenty of BTUs on all burners allowing me to do a proper saute and a great braise. The oven is very well insulated and does a great job with even browning from roasting chicken to baking bread. I do wish there was a switch to shut off the cooling fan so I can manually shut it off. Ive worked on other ranges in this price range and none have performed as well, were built as well or looked as great. Im glad someone still cares about the quality of their product.
My washer is 3 year and 6 months old. The cost was $599 have put $356 into it. Now it wont hold water, floods the room. Called the company in New Zealand. They said they cant judge how I treat the washer. We are retires and there is only the 2 of us. How much can we have? The customer service said it will cost upward of $300 to fix it. When I heard from our local repair man, he said it was the seal and to junk it. It would cost about $80 to repair. A friend who does repairs said it was the seal and maybe the pump but that we should trash it.
We had Fisher & Paykel washer that was about 5 years old. The pump went out and the cost of replacing was so high that it was better to get another one from a different manufacturer. But the washer broke out unlike the one we got from Fisher & Paykel, so we purchased from Fisher & Paykel again. Compared to the past model we had, this one is good. I like its soak cycle feature which the other one didnt have. Were not happy that the first one didnt last longer than it did but we like it.
I will never buy another one. The top drawer failed and the engineer was unable to repair the dishwasher. It is very expensive compared to other dishwashers on the market and it has a short life. It is very difficult to find someone who can fix it.
This is the second set of washer and dryer we have owned. Our daughter has the first set, and after 15 years, it is still working great. Due to a re-location, we purchased a new washer and dryer. The washer works fine. The dryer, on the other hand, is not working out. We had the repairman come out due to the fact that the dryer overheated. It had to be taken apart and all the lint had to cleaned up. As per the repairman, it is a design flaw. This has to happen every third week; the lint builds up so fast so I empty the lint holder every time I finish drying a load. We have had our dryer vent cleaned from the outside, and just to be sure, we cleaned it from the inside also. We are not happy with this dryer. My husband said we should just get a cheap dryer somewhere. I had so much confidence in Fisher Paykel that’s why we bought this second set.
We’re on our third Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. I don’t particularly like them. But we have the ones where they match the kitchen, the cabinets. So that’s why we had to stay with them. They’re good for a year or two and after that, it’s very expensive to upkeep them. You better know somebody who’s in the appliance repair business.
This refrigerator was the only model that would fit into our kitchen properly. We have been very satisfied with all of the attributes.
The Fisher & Paykel refrigerator works okay. So far, so good. It looks like it’s efficiently organized, attractive and fits right into our particular size needs.
No contact with Fisher and Paykel happens without our initiating it. When our dishwasher broke, to book the service visit online we had to allow a 6 hour window for him/her to arrive. When he did come and determined what was needed i.e. parts and a second visit at no time did F&P update us. So after 2 weeks we made contact again and since then it has been impossible to get through. I cannot contact the service person directly, have to go through the customer service who do not answer the phone, cut you off and just respond to computer prompts. All they can do is rebook visits. The dishwasher is less than a year old and needs a new motor. We are not heavy users of it. I wish we could use the local service people and not have to rely on F and P ever again. They cannot cope.
Purchased the 2 drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher 3 years ago. It does a HORRIBLE job cleaning dishes and customer service is no help. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DISHWASHER - we also have a Bosch which is AMAZING!
Fisher Paykel is the only dishwasher that provides a double draw and this is the only reason it’s still on the market. You will be changing a motor/rotor every 18 months. The cost of the motor is 100.00 dollars and installation is 290.00. Fisher Paykel will recommend Dial An Appliance if you live in Brooklyn or Queens. They take 250.00 to put the motor in and it’s a 10 min job, but you’ll have no choice. I loved the double draw so within a 10 year period I had to buy and fix 3 dishwashers. Finally said, No more.. I just purchased a KitchenAid and hope to have it longer. If you purchase this dishwasher your first repair will be within the first year. Guaranteed!
We just bought our house 2 weeks ago. It has 2 Fisher Paykel drawer type dishwashers. We have yet to get a load of clean dishes out of these machines. We rinse our dishes and then run the dishwasher at the end of the day so it is not like the dishes are sitting around for days. These machines look like they are new. The rest of the appliances are new.
We purchased two Fisher & Paykel drawer-style dishwashers. They have both failed after just three years of use. When calling a recommended service place here in San Francisco, the answer I got was Never buy Fisher & Paykel products. They are of very poor quality from the company recommended by Fisher & Paykel! Unbelievable! The cost to fix our dishwasher would be over $1000! Now to the reason: F&P dishwashers are made completely out of plastic. If a sliver of glass gets in to the pump wheel, the wheel is ground down to where it no longer works properly. As all plastic parts are interconnected, in a way that even a layman engineer understands is completely idiotic, you are left with the only option of changing massive parts of the machine! Naturally, F&P are aware of this. This is the same practice that car manufacturers use frequently. If things break, they make money from parts.Further advice from the repairman: Buy a dishwasher from a European manufacturer, one with a stainless interior, not too fancy and not too cheap, around $700 MRSP. Do not buy a dishwasher with drawers as they are normally made by F&P, Kitchen Aid, DCS and many others are all made by the same company with idiotic engineering and cheap parts, thats what he said and I fully believe him. To make it such a hassle for customers, just to save a buck on a pump part is what will, hopefully, bring this company to change their engineering or go bust. Stay away. Do yourself a favor and buy a Bosch, or actually, buy pretty much any other brand!
I bought a Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. The top load dryer is pretty awesome. F&P seemed a lot better from what I was told about them.
The griddle on this range is a piece of junk. It does not heat over 250 degrees. I have contacted Fisher & Paykel numerous times about this problem. They referred us to a repair service. The serviceman does not even want to work on a DCS. They have adjusted the griddle numerous times and replaced the thermostat twice. It still does not get hot enough! Fisher & Paykel will not let you talk to their technician to explain how the griddle is working. We are unable to get a phone number where we can talk to someone who understands how the griddle is supposed to work. One of the service reps in New Zealand asked us to fax all the records we have kept on the problems with this range. The number he gave us would not go through. I think he did not want to give us a correct number. He would not even give us his last name so we could talk to him again! If they were an automotive manufacturer, after reading all the bad reviews, the government would have already put them out of business!
Fisher-Paykel has apparently spent the majority of their resources on engineers that design a product to last no more than 2 years. I purchased a VERY expensive Fisher-Paykel refrigerator, model number RF175WDRUX1 from Lowes in Lake Worth, Texas on January 17, 2013. In late November of 2014 the fridge stopped working. After reviewing the paperwork, I discovered that Fisher-Paykel offered a 5 year limited warranty.Called Lowes, they put me in contact with a repair facility, called Fisher-Paykel (super nice folks on the phone, but all good con-artists need a good front operation). It is now 6 weeks since my service call: Parts are still on backorder. THIS IS A SCAM MANUFACTURER. There is no excuse for a 6-week backorder in a day when I can order anything from China and have it on my doorstep within 3 days.As I write this, Lowes has me on permanent hold. So, my advice: DO NOT BUY FROM LOWES AND DO NOT BUY FISHER-PAYKEL PRODUCTS. The sad part is that no matter how nice or patient you are, you will not get any traction with Lowes or Fisher-Paykel unless and until you are prepared to file a Deceptive Trade Practices lawsuit.Fisher-Paykel is an insult to New Zealanders...they make products engineered to fail and engage in ongoing deceit on U.S. Consumers. Classic Deceptive Trade Practices by Fisher-Paykel. Texas consumers should avoid their products.
Very dissatisfied with Fisher Paykel. I bought 4 appliances from them totaling over 11,000 dollars. The dishwasher was missing parts and the refrigerator did not work. After 6 weeks of back and forth with the company giving me misinformation and every employee telling me different things to do and making me in charge of lining up appliance service with 4 days needed off of work that resulted in them not replacing a bad refrigerator but saying they would repair. The wheels were also broken with the services which ruined my floor and once they replace the refrigerator they will not guarantee. They do a typical customer service routine, but could care less about the actual customer. My next home would never have their appliances.
We own a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a washer and dryer. I love those appliances. First of all, I live in a condo. Were a small family so we dont have a big house. What I like most is that those appliances are compact. Theyre not small. My refrigerator is probably the biggest refrigerator that still fits in my kitchen. Its just so nicely designed that it fits into the narrowest spaces to put it in and at the same time it has so many space inside that Im really happy with it. The same about my two other appliances that are a washer and dryer. Theyre separate. Theyre economical. I really love how my clothes look like. But theyre fairly new. I just bought them all this year so I dont know how they would behave in the future. The only thing is when I need a spare part, its really tough to find one.
Just today had a major breakthrough thanks to the Fisher & Paykel customer service representative. Marks Electricals delayed engineer appointment for over three months. No descent information to rely on. Thanking Fisher &Paykel for support I received and very patient representative, she is A Hero today.
F&P Washer model # wa37t26gw2 - I bought this washing machine from a local Sears in Newton, KS. I have had it now for three years and two months. My husband was washing clothes the other night and went out into the laundry room and the whole room was filled with white stinky smoke. The whole entire board of the machine is burned up. Im just not satisfied with a washer lasting only three years before I have a major problem. I just wanted you to know!
After our 30 something yr old Maytag clothes washer quit, we decided to go with Fisher & Paykel because that’s what the repairman suggested to us. We had it delivered. The installation was excellent. So far, the washer is working good. Excellent! No problem so far.
I have had a Fisher Paykel single dish drawer since 2001 and recently replaced it with a newer model. Not because I had to, but because I did a kitchen makeover and the timing was right. In all the years I had my original FP dishwasher, it required service twice and both times service was expedient and at reasonable cost. In my opinion, as a long time user of the product, the value, reliability and performance of the FP dish drawer cant be beat.
The Fisher & Paykel refrigerator came with the new construction and I love it. Its very well designed and laid out ergonomic, and it works quite well. Its probably the best fridge Ive owned.
We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer in May last year. After 6 months we realized that washer never used hot water. It was washing the clothes always in cold water. When contacting the company they referred us to a local repair company. The technician came in today and diagnosed that the problem was with electronic module and electronic water valves. It will take 4-12 weeks for the parts to arrive. Are they using the boat to ship the parts from China? Perhaps someone should whisper to Fisher & Paykel: Federal Express. They need to improve the quality of their products. I will stay away from any Fisher & Paykel products.
We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer in Nov. 2005 with the extended warranty from Lowes. After one year I had to have the water pump replaced. After two years I had the pump clog. I have had clothes torn. I had to have repairman come out-total on that visit took two weeks to repair. Now we have a loud noise with the washer. Each year there has been a problem with the washer-now we go onto the dryer. The control panel goes in and out; now have a very loud noise. It doesnt always dry the clothes. The lint screens are torn, which allows the lint to go behind the lint panel and causes the dryer to turn off if there is too much in there. It clogs the whole thing; of course we once again have the repairman on his way, which he thinks it is the bearings or the pulleys in the dryer. I wonder what that is going to cost. Needless to say, we will most likely not have the dryer repaired. We will have to purchase another washer and dryer. I’m so tired of the whole mess. We will never buy a Fisher and Paykel. When you talk with customer service it is like speaking to the wall. There’s no help whatsoever. This company does not stand behind their products. It’s good money just thrown away!
