Purchased May 2014. The rack grates that sit on top of the stove are warped. The temperature gauge does not work. The igniter is broken. I want a new stove, not a new stove that needs major repairs. They want to fix it. I will end up going to small claims.

On 10-3-09 we purchased the FP HE model #WL37126KW2, serial #NYU790706. In October 2012 we noticed dark dirty streaks on our clothes. Some clothing never did come clean. Dark clothes appear to have white streaks like large amounts of soap havent been removed. Ive tried different detergents and numerous cleaning cycles. Thank the dear Lord we purchased the extended warranty! Since October 2012 weve had 7 repairmen and 3 parts replaced. The last repair was on Wednesday, 4-17-13. The 2nd load of clothing came out exactly like it did the very first time in October. Are you kidding me!Now another repairman on 4-26-13 and then Im assuming another part. I have no idea what part hasnt been replaced! After 4 new replacement parts and still having the problems, we will get a gift certificate from Lowes for a replacement. You can bet it wont be FP! Ive spoken to FP directly, Lowes and the warranty company numerous times. I am totally fed up with this whole situation. I will never buy another FP. No good reviews will come from my mouth for FP!

After saving for a few years we purchased a DCS duel fuel range model Rds366ss. The stove was $5695, the vented hood was another $1295 and the back panel and shelf kit was another $395. Since purchased, the oven would heat higher than the required temp and after several tech visits with no results, we decided to live with it, adjusting the temp as we cooked. Then after a couple of years I had to repair all six of the spark igniters. Now after nine years, the stove has quit working altogether and after another tech visit we were told the oven thermostat had failed and needed a new one, part#210766. Calling DCS customer care for a replacement we were told the part was no longer available and there were no replacement parts for it. After checking many websites we found that the part was indeed obsolete with no substitute parts that would work in its place.Calling DCS back and speaking with a customer service tech we were told that maybe the part could be found used online. Another option was maybe we should consider buying another stove! Are you kidding me. After spending all this money on a stove we thought would last at least twenty years, were told we should think about buying a new stove after only nine years. We are so mad at ourselves for not researching this stove before purchasing it and now after reading nothing but negative reviews for the products made by Fisher-Paykel. We are stunned that a huge company like this can getaway with this consumer robbery. Wish there was some way to warn people about buying from this company and its total disregard for customer satisfaction.

We bought a DD603 dishwasher in 2002 and it has worked reasonably well since then. However, a problem seems to have developed on the top drawer. I recently cut my finger when pulling it open, and discovered three sharp, probably metal projections on the pull. I can only conclude that this must be a design defect. The minimum cost in my area for a service call from an authorized servicer is $65 for just a diagnosis. F&P refuses to defray any part of this cost.

Whatever you do stay away from DCS. We purchased a DCS 6 burner Range-top, fridge, and wall oven in November 2014. No problem with anything until second batch of Christmas cookies a week before Christmas when the oven temp dropped to 140. Repairman said we needed a micro temp limiter and another limiter. He said he could probably fix it before Christmas if he could get the parts. Having selected DCS because of offices and warehouse in California we thought we were going to be roasting turkey and baking rolls for a big family Christmas dinner... Not exactly. Sometime last Fall the Fisher and Paykel brain trust closed all their US warehouses and all phone calls for customer service are now routed to New Zealand. The Kiwis working the phones in Wellington are useless. They can tell us they know the parts have been ordered but they dont have them in stock and they cannot tell us when they will be available to ship to the US. Weve been without the wall oven for a month now. Crossing our fingers that the fridge and range-top keep working.

I purchased a washer and dryer from Lowes. Within a year both needed service, under warranty. The following year both again needed service, the motor in the washer and the board on the dryer. $600 in repairs. Neither under warranty. I spoke with F&P and they wouldnt assist on the repair. On year three, the dryer went out again. I spoke to F&P and they told me to get a repair estimate and they would aid in the repair. The repairman, the only F&P rep in town, told me the units were junk even though they were on their high end. I called back to F&P with the estimate, $250 + $80 diagnostics, and was told, you have lemons. That is the nature of the world we live in. Too bad. I trashed the 3 year old units and replaced with something else. Avoid this company. The units are flimsy to say the least.

I have been trying for 6 months now to get the correct part for my 2 year gas range, the oven igniter does not work. I have been sent the wrong part 4 times and in my last discussion with their service department (3 weeks ago) I was told they do not make the replacement part I require. I asked them if they are going to provide me with a new replacement range. They said they would get back to me and to date I have heard nothing even though they promised to get back to me the next day. I have sent numerous emails following up and they are ignored. I am now taking them to small claims court to settle the matter. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE BUYS a FISHER PAYKEL PRODUCT. High prices, poor quality and poor service.

I was one of those customers that was highly encouraged to buy a Fisher & Paykel Washer and Dryer. I was one of the lucky ones that purchased an extended warranty but that doesnt do anything for inconvenience. I have had to have my dryer worked on about five times. Once I had to wait for over eight weeks which means lugging wet clothes to the laundry mat to dry them. Ive had my washer worked on about four times. Now, my extended warranty is up on both machines and I noticed that my washer is leaking water. It seems that the water is coming from the top of the machine. I tilted the machine back and the only part that is wet is the side. I have read on the web that many other people are having the same problem. I purchased the washer in 2006 and the dryer in 2007. I really expected to get at least ten years out of these appliances since they are not cheap.

Okay, so the repairman finally came through with the list of all the parts needed for the job! Wow you wouldnt think an authorized dealer would take so long to communicate with Fisher and Paykel, but I must say, once he did the company came through and backed their product. Our ovens are set to be repaired as soon as the parts come in and without charge. I will re-post after the job is complete. But so far so good. Very impressed with customer service rep.

We own a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a washer and dryer. I love those appliances. First of all, I live in a condo. Were a small family so we dont have a big house. What I like most is that those appliances are compact. Theyre not small. My refrigerator is probably the biggest refrigerator that still fits in my kitchen. Its just so nicely designed that it fits into the narrowest spaces to put it in and at the same time it has so many space inside that Im really happy with it. The same about my two other appliances that are a washer and dryer. Theyre separate. Theyre economical. I really love how my clothes look like. But theyre fairly new. I just bought them all this year so I dont know how they would behave in the future. The only thing is when I need a spare part, its really tough to find one.

We remodeled last year and purchased a DCS refrigerator, rangetop and double oven after much research. The refrigerator is great! We love the space and the layout! The rangetop is wonderful - my first experience using gas, and I love it! Our ovens are a different story. After 6 months of use, one of our ovens stopped working properly. Since we live where there are no warranty repair available, DCS sent their regional person. He fixed the oven, but a week later, it quit working again. We are still waiting to hear back from him. Very disappointed in the oven. Hoping to resolve this as quickly as before.

The inside of the glass door was broken for no apparent reason, the parts department are now charging £250 for the privilege of getting a new glass that fits. This oven does not get a lot of use. In terms of size its great but I really resent paying so much for a spare part...15% of the purchase price doesnt seem reasonable to me. The service department are given the horrid job of dealing with these issues with no flexibility in how they handle them. The dishwasher drawer is really not a good idea for anyone who has anything other than mugs and buffet size dinner plates. Be aware that the overall size of this will push your worktop higher that may expect. It has had a rather unfortunate knock on effect for me in terms of the aesthetic, but the main point is it doesnt do the job its supposed to. Great idea... But the result is not good.

My first F&P dryer worked fine for a year and then continually tripped
My first F&P dryer worked fine for a year and then continually tripped thermal switches. One actually has to remove a panel to reset this as it is not accessible from the outside of the dryer. F&P finally replaced this (well, I got a new dryer for the privilege of paying them $250 for the prorated use of the old dryer). I also spent another $250 re-venting the dryer because they were concerned that the venting that worked fine for my 25 year old Maytag was insufficient for their unit. Dryer #2 developed a bearing squeak--quiet at first but now is extremely loud. The tech from the company that sold me the dryer claims the bolt is frozen and the bearing cannot be replaced or at least cannot be replaced for a service call cheaper than half the price of actually replacing the dryer. Meanwhile, THAT store has ceased selling the product and no longer will work on F&P machines. The tech recommended by F&P after this told me the same thing and recommended that I save my money and buy Samsung.

So I've read a lot of negative reviews about FP. I have been using it since a 6000 sqft project build I did almost 10 years ago using a dual drawer dishwasher. THIS IS THE ONLY DISHWASHER I'LL EVER BUY. A 2 drawer dishwasher is very civilized... 2 completely independent running drawers that clean very well. Next renovation in a $2M condo I put in same dishwasher and a FP Washer and Ventless Dryer. I could not be happier. Never any service problems, cosmetically beautiful, and nice ergonomics. Don't overload it.

Before ordering, please check that the delivery company will be able to get the appliance in your kitchen. I ordered an American fridge freezer, but when it arrived they could not get it into my kitchen. The delivery boys were lovely and they said they could probably get it in, if the doors and drawer were removed, but they could not find a way to remove the drawer. I called Fisher and Paykel and they could not help either and suggested that I just took doorstep delivery and work the rest out for myself! Very disappointing, so to avoid disappointment yourselves, please check this out before you order. Incidentally, I live in a detached house with standard size openings.

We purchased the washer and dryer 5 years ago as appliance sales people everywhere gave the set rave reviews. Their excitement had to be due to huge spiffs or incentives for selling these as I have never owned anything so problematic. Among the issues, no service people know how or want to repair them. The washer doesnt clean clothes, water temp is never correct, and there are error codes. The dryer doesnt catch lint, it is noisy and it stopped working. I have been told by several salespeople, They are so easy to work on. Very few moving parts, etc. What no one tells you is that moving parts are very inexpensive compared to the circuit boards needed to possibly fix my dryer so it will run. $360.00 for the parts and who knows for labor! Despicable! I will never do business with Fisher & Paykel again nor will I pay to talk to a service rep on line. Very poor customer service.

I was first introduced to Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers about 6 years ago. They were two drawers placed separately on either side of the kitchen sink. They were really wonderful and I had no problems with them. I then bought and renovated two new homes and put fisher paykel dishwashing drawers in both homes. They are the stacked drawers. Have not had problem with them except the bottom one started leaking and the top one smells horribly of mold. I feel it in my lungs every time I breathe in the air after opening the top drawer. I called customer service and spoke to someone from New Zealand (very difficult time understanding her) who said that I should use let it shine from Home Depot and run it through a cycle. Well this did not help so now I have to endure this terrible mold smell every time I open the top drawer. After this experience I am very doubtful I would ever buy another fisher paykel product.

We bought a Fisher & Paykel built-in oven and microwave. My wife primarily heard about the DCS stuff over at America’s Cooking School. Then she looked around a little bit and thought they were a little better quality than the things we had, and some recommendations she’d seen. We’ve had the oven and microwave since June and it’s been operational less than half that time. They kept going back and forth and back and forth and they finally replaced it. But it took a couple of months. So it’s really unsatisfactory. We went round and round and round with everybody, the people we bought it from, and we bought it from a very good, reputable store. I don’t know if they sell cheap stuff but we didn’t go through the kind to get any deals or anything. After it first went down, they gave us the name of the warranty service or repair people and they were pretty helpful. I talked to Fisher & Paykel numerous times. They talked a pretty good game but they kept saying that a local rep would get a hold of me and work to resolve it. And I haven’t heard from him yet. He’s a phantom, I guess. It was not very good. A part broke, they replaced it; it never did work right even with that. They came out and Fisher & Paykel told them to replace it again which doesn’t make any sense at all. But they did and it broke again and they never did work again. And it took them weeks to decide. After several months, obviously, and a lot of phone calls and other stuff, they finally replaced it. We cook a lot but in the summer. We don’t use the oven as much as in the winter. So it’s been fine the three or four times we’ve used it. We use it every opportunity because my wife still don’t have confidence we will have an oven for the Thanksgiving crowd. I think their customer service is atrocious. They never called back. They sound good when they take notes and say, “We’ll send it to the local manager and he’ll contact you within 24 to 48 hours.” And that’s two to three months ago. But the unit is beautiful - it works very nice and fits perfectly for what we want. It matches the size of the kitchen. It has all the good stuff but it doesn’t matter much if it doesn’t work.

NEVER BUY! I cant stress enough not to make any purchases from this company. We purchased a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer in 2008. We began having issues with the dryer while it was still in warranty, and the problems continued out of warranty. In fact, the dryer has been serviced at least four times in the three years we have owned it. We have spent many hundreds of dollars on repairs to this three-year old set. However, the most disturbing experience recently happened with our three-year old washer. An authorized repair person (Eastern Appliance), that the company referred misdiagnosed the problem (after a five-minute visual diagnosis, he identified code 49 as a drain pump); he never ordered the parts, and lied about the problem being resolved to Fisher and Paykel. After two weeks and several phone calls to the repair person, I ordered the drain pump and installed it myself. It turned out that code 49 is the motor control, not the drain pump. We spent money on the technician, and Fisher and Paykel wont take any responsibility to correct their authorized repairmans error. Their response is that the washer is out of warranty and is our problem. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced; they do not return phone calls, will not transfer you to a supervisor, and are completely unwilling to assist in resolving the problem. After four weeks and $50 in quarters for the Laundromat, Im still looking at a broken washing machine. We will NEVER purchase any other Fisher and Paykel products. This reinforced the importance of buying American products. Spend your money on any other company. You will be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and FRUSTRATED with any Fisher and Paykel purchase you make. The company has no integrity, and does not stand behind its products.

I like the Fisher & Paykel two drawer dishwasher. Unfortunately the top drawer computer board has never worked since the day it was installed - it wont shut off. We talked to them and originally they were going to send somebody but then they said it was out of warranty. We had bought it but didnt install it until a year after. It stayed in the crate as we were renovating the house. Were still in the process of getting something done. Id hate to buy a whole new computer board for something that didnt work since the day it was installed. The bottom drawer works fine so it has nothing to do with the installation or electricity. It has good design but not the best quality.

Approximately seven years ago, we purchased a Fisher Paykel washer from a local Lowes. I really liked the idea of using less water. The change from a regular dial machine to electronic push button seemed like a nice update. I will say that the only thing I like about this machine was that the spin cycle was very efficient and the clothes had much less moisture, resulting in far less drying time in the clothes dryer. The purpose of my review is to warn everyone what a horrible experience we have had with this brand. We have had to have this machine repaired four times by a professional. We have spent more money on repairs than the original purchase of the machine. We will never purchase anything by Fisher Paykel again. I strongly warn others about this brand. We purchased a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer from a local Lowes just about 3 years ago. When the new appliances were delivered, within the first week the dryer had to be replaced because the frame was bent out of shape and was not repairable. Our dryer stopped drying clothes in the last couple of months. We called the repairman who came and diagnosed the situation as the board had gone out and would need to be replaced as well as the reset switch. He told us our laundry room was a bit too small and that had caused the dryer to overheat. So why hadnt it done this in the last 3 years? The repair bill was over 300.00 dollars and the repairman suggested that we might need to leave the front cover off the dryer so it wouldnt overheat. He replaced the cover.Within the first month after the repair, it did it again so we took off the front cover and hit the reset switch and it worked again. The dryer blew the circuit breaker 2 weeks ago. 4 days ago, the dryer overheated and smelled hot throughout our upstairs. We unplugged the dryer and let it cool down. We have put well over $1000 in this dryer and it is not good. We will not purchase another Fisher Paykel appliance again and would not recommend this company to anyone.

My Fisher & Paykel Washer failed to pump out water or complete a spin cycle. The technician from the store that we bought it from, determined that the pump was not operating and needed to be replaced. This company no longer carries Fisher& Paykel products mainly because it continues to change replacement parts, and have poor support in receiving parts. He did contact the Service Dept. for F&K and was able to find the part number needed for the pump. My wife had to contact them to order and pay for the part. After receiving the shippings tracking number and date of delivery, it became a waiting game. When the package did not arrive on the expected date, my wife contacted the customer service personnel and initially was informed that they could not find the order; then determined that the order did not ship because an additional part was required for the pump. As luck would have it, this part was not in California but was located somewhere in Kentucky.By and large, someone took it upon himself to cancel the order, but failed to inform us of the situation. My wife now had to get the correct information, order the part, trust the so-called experts to credit our charge account, and play the waiting game. Mind you, 2 weeks has lapsed since this process began. When the much awaited part arrived, we had to wait another 4 days for the service tech to install it. Today when I arrived home from work, I found my wife in tears and on the verge of a mental breakdown. The part was installed and when the tech ran a cycle through the machine with a load of clothes in it, it failed to pump the water out again. To make a long story short, when he talked to a tech at F&P, he was informed that a change made to their parts required that the motherboard also needs to be replaced at the time a new part was installed. Now we are talking an additional $190 for the part and $25 for shipping and handling. The total cost with parts already received was $357. NFW are we going to continue to pump money in to this money pit. To fix this problem, we have ordered a new washing machine but it is not an F&K product.Never again will we waste good money on any product by F&P. Not only will we no longer support the products of this company, we will seek out every opportunity to express our dissatisfaction and terrible experience to anyone that will listen. This is the worst buying and service after the sale experience that we have ever encountered. I can only hope that F&Ps competition will eventually drive them out of business.

Purchased a 8kg Wash Smart washing machine in 2020, leaking water from front of the door, not the seal. Tech assessed and left without fixing the issue, now it is leaking from the drawer and they are saying non warrantable. Poor response, over an hour spent on the phone and now we are getting told it will be another 2 weeks before they will come back out. Advised they will give me tips on washing.... hmm mother of 4, last machine lasted 10 years with no issues. Still in warranty, poor service, unreliable product!

Can I give 0 stars? I feel I was duped by the sleek look and promised amazing performance of this oven (Double Wall Oven WODV30). It is gorgeous, and I fell victim to the wonderfully smooth roll out racks, 12 settings for each oven (top and bottom), and supposed long, worry-free life. I had this oven installed in my newly renovated kitchen in October 2014. It worked super for three months. I am a light-use household consumer, just a regular mom trying to feed my family of 5; nothing fancy, nothing commercial. It then blew out a circuit board in January 2015. The oven went completely haywire. Okay, maybe a lemon you say? Do you know what then happened with DCS wonderful customer service for my $5000.00 oven? It took them 3 weeks to send out a replacement part. A new circuit board, which BLEW as soon as the tech (who has much experience w/ DCS and FP) installed it. Then do you know what happened? It took 3 more weeks for me to fight with my appliance company and DCS to get them to acknowledge they did not know what was wrong with my oven, why it originally blew its original circuit board, and why the new circuit board blew immediately. Yes, smoke was coming off the board, and the tech was flabbergasted. So, yes, dear reader, I was without an oven for SIX WEEKS from January until March. No baking, no roasting, no family dinners, no desserts, NOTHING. It took 3 weeks for my entire kitchen renov in the first place, then 3 months later, SIX WEEKS, no oven. Tsk, tsk DCS!! For a $5000 oven! And to top it off, after my fight to get them to send a new, replacement oven, guess what? The top door has damage to the metal frame around the glass door; there is permanent marring of the metal and something between the glass. Luckily, this is covered under their 90 day cosmetic warranty. I hope that everyone reading this thinks twice about this product. On another note, my 5 burner cook top from DCS is awesome, but how can you get gas burners wrong, really. STAY AWAY.

I have a Fisher Paykel one-drawer dishwasher that came with my motor home. Its working great. Its fine and I like how quiet it is. The one thing I do not like about it is leaving the dishes in there. If I leave them in there after the cycle spin, then the moisture builds up inside and they sweat and I have to dry them.

I bought a FP washer and dryer. The washer had a valve go bad after a few years leaking water and costing me a lot to fix it. The dryer opened during a cycle and spit my clothes out on the motor a little over 3 years old. I was told the repairman never had one apart and did not go to FP repair school. That means I would have to pay him to practice on my dryer. I also thought I was buying a unit that would last for several years. I am waiting to hear from FP and the store I bought it from if there is some type of compensation. I am very disappointed and would talk to anyone concerning my experience, even FP if they would listen.

We walked into a store, saw the Fisher & Paykel dishwasher, started checking it out and asking questions. I liked the two-door setup as opposed to a one-door setup, so we just thought it was cool. We like it. We had one with the little spikes on the dish rack, and they would break off right away, but it’s probably just a bad weld. So they’re sending us a new one so theyre right on it.

The fridge (no ice or water) has been fine, in fact we bought another Fisher Paykel. But we bought the second one with a side handle. The handle on our first fridge kept breaking off. The technician said the magnets were too strong. You may want to check the pressure it takes to open the door because you can take out some magnets. It costs about $150-$170 Cdn to replace (parts and labour past warranty period). Here are the two old handles of our old fridge which is now in the basement. We are on our third handle and I open it by pulling on the top of the door.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel dishwasher 6 months ago. I took out a store credit card and paid it off in 6 mo. The last time I turned the dishwasher on it started flashing and did not work, and then turned completely shut off, never to turn on again. I am not on week 7 -without a working dishwasher, I have spent countless hours calling fisher Paykel, at first they sent a repairman out asap, only because they tried to say it would take 1 week, I said that was unacceptable - he came the next day, only to tell me that he needed a part, came back 1 week later. My husband called me and told me the dishwasher could not be fixed and that it would need to be replaced. One week went by, I called the customer service number, on hold for 40 minutes. I was told the new dishwasher request had been denied. It took hours to get the supervisor Richard to call me back. He said he did not know why it had been denied, though I was told he was the person who denied it and he said that he would order me a new dishwasher, that he was a consumer and understood how things went wrong in this day and age. A few days later I heard from the appliance store where I bought the dishwasher and was told it would take 1-2 weeks. It has now been over 2 weeks, so I called this morning, on hold for 40 minutes, spoke w/ Cindy. She said I would be updated today. I called Richard 2 days prior and left him a message the next day too, never returned my call. Today he called me, I missed his call, emailed me he was in meetings and unreachable. Did not hear from Fisher Paykel, so I called the appliance store. They told me Fisher Paykel said the dishwasher was sent to be there on July 23. Today is July 28, and it is not there. We have a problem, not like Fisher Paykel has noticed. I called Fisher Paykel around 4pm, got through immediately, spoke w/ Cindy. She said that I was not speaking to her in a nice way. I explained how frustrating it has been dealing w/ her company and nobody follows through. She said she was going to follow up w/ Richard and get back to me. Never heard from her. This is has been a horrible experience - I have wasted countless hours on this issue. I am still without a dishwasher and am shocked at the horrible customer service. This is a very expensive appliance. I expected so much more. This is the 3rd dishwasher in 17years, all Fisher Paykel dishwashers that I have replaced. I should have learned my lesson.

Its a shame that all the people who have left complaints here, dont have a friend or family member thats a appliance tech, because the Fisher & Paykel washer & top load dryer are the best laundry set Ive ever owned. Fortunately for me that I have a brother who not only is a tech, but also worked for Fisher & Paykel, so he knows their products, inside and out. When I 1st got them and saw the tops were all plastic, I thought I was forced into the biggest mistake of my life. Because like many other people here, I got rid of my Maytag set that were still working after 30 years with very little service. Although Ive had some issues with the top load dryer, mainly the lint build-up behind the grill that he vacuums out once a month. Ive only had to replace a lint screen and bearings kit in the 6 years that Ive own it. Since I only had to pay for the parts and not for labor or service charge, my cost have been very minimal. As for the washer, the only problem is that when we do large loads it usually splashes water on to the basement floor. Since its only a concrete floor, its not a major issue. The only thing my brother can think why we are not experiencing the same problems with leaking pumps causing computer board to burn out is, we all bought our machines manufactured in New Zealand before they opened their Ohio, USA factory.Considering all the laundry my family does in a week, the Fisher & Paykel set has held up very well, so far. I know its largely in part because my brother is an appliance tech and not everyone is as fortunate. But Im very happy with them. The reverse- tumble dryer has cut down on my ironing, saving a great deal of time and energy.

They repaired it and then asked me for a copy of my receipt. Theyve done nothing but harass me. Theyre charging me $135 for something that they never even said, We may have to bill for this. Well have to send it through to see if its covered under warranty. They just fixed it and then called me and said, How come you havent paid this? I have a bottom mount freezer drawer that cannot open but a few inches. Getting through to customer service has been fraught with games of long hold times, getting disconnected when I ask for a supervisor or info on my repair. As I am in the United States, there is no local customer service. All calls are routed to New Zealand. Emails are ignored. My call records get lost. Nothing on the record anymore. We have no log of your inquiry. Calls to their authorized local repair company go unanswered. A second local company warned me that it would a long time until it can get fixed because they too cannot get through to F&P or their techs or get a hold of the parts. Complete frustration. After reading only some of the reviews here, it seems to be a common complaint. Nice looking product but it means absolutely nothing if it cannot function. No company is perfect and I expect hiccups but the run-around here is incredible. My only recourse is to start recording my conversations with the false promises I am given along with posting a review video on social media showing the drawer problems. My hope is to discourage anyone from buying an F&P appliance as the service when needed (and it will be needed) is absolute garbage. It should not be this difficult to get adequate service.

Our experience was extraordinarily good. I was impressed. The equipment is nice, the design is nice. I’m an engineer so I say this. But the brand name on the outside is DCS. We bought the six-burner gas oven, too. And we just bought a new oven for our rental property. There’s only a couple of companies in the world that I’d recommend for appliances at all, and Fisher & Paykel is one of them. The service and the people that sold them to us in all cases, we bought several, were first class. The people were knowledgeable, thorough, responsive, and the stuff arrived on time. The pricing was very competitive and the quality of the devices is, from a mechanical perspective and electronic perspective, excellent. And in terms of its user friendliness to my wife who uses them most of the time, the biggest problem with the dishwasher is you can’t hear it. The wonderful thing about the six-burner stove is it has a simmer control and most stoves don’t have that. I was a professional chef and so I know the Viking and Garland brands pretty well. And the DCS stove comes as close to a Garland as you’re going to get at a very good price. And that’s very important to know because people don’t understand. Most people aren’t chefs. So the stuff has been super. I’ve been very pleased. Keep up the good work because remember, the two most important things in the world are that they should work but the customer service has to be first class and it always has been. My wife’s very best friend is building a new house and we recommended all of Fisher & Paykel stuff to her yesterday.

I bought a Fisher Paykel dryer model # DE62T7G. Do not buy! This dryer looks great and is sold as an energy efficient dryer. It breaks down constantly. We have had the heat coils replaced and the reset button replaced, after it took over 4 hours to dry clothes one year after purchasing the unit. Now it is no longer drying and makes a grinding sound as it cycles. We have already spent in excess of $200 dollars getting it repaired. This is a 2 year old dryer. Of course it is out of warranty and at his point why sink money into a lemon.

We were re-doing our kitchen and we wanted something with two drawers and they were the only ones who really did it for the dishwasher. I checked them out online and they were very highly rated. My wife says why we didn’t get all our appliances from them? We did our whole kitchen and she was... “I didn’t know about them beforehand.....” So this was an experiment that actually turned out to be positive and if they want to, they can change all my appliances, because I’m sorry I didn’t buy all of them :)Compared to other brands we had our F&P dishwasher is amazing. I love that the dishes come out sparkling clean. I don’t have to scrap them. I’ve had bad dishwashers. The last one that I had was extremely poor. I would never buy that brand again.

To get my dishwasher repaired is a joke, as they say tech will be out between 12 and 5. Hello people work, well get a family member or a neighbors to come over. Hello who doesnt work these days. We agree the tech wouldnt be here before two and rocks up just before two, as I am driving home from work. Missed him by two minutes, but cant come back today, so we all have to live with the smell for another four days. So just remember if you are buying Fisher Paykel you can only get it service by Fisher Paykel. So if it breaks down be ready to have your life put on hold as the world only works around them. As they cant booked times only between half days and be ready for the half hour call before they come out, only if you request a call before they come, otherwise take a sick day as they will just rock up anytime to service it, and if not there too bad. So you can drop what you doing and run out of work at the drop of a hat, half hour before they come. All company really let you do that. So come on Fisher Paykel, get your ** together to help your customers out in a better way. We all have jobs to do, so get your tech to work on a better schedule so they can give us a time and not between five hours. I wouldnt be recommending your products to my friends or family for this reason.

Have had our Fisher Paykel top load dryer for approximately 1-1/2 years. Started making a very loud noise which turned out to be the lint filter breaking away so lint could not escape. Paid the service repair $340.00 to fix it. He had just left when a new grinding sound started. He has been back four times and still cannot fix the problem. Ive owned front-load machines for the past 5 years. Had a good experience with them as well. I just moved into top-load HE laundry and went F&P. After comparing the two styles I would recommend the F&P top-loaders. Being able to control your water levels is such an advantage to laundry. Heavily soiled stains are removed more significant with extra water. Having a thorough rinse improved my whites and stained outdoor clothing. The gentleness of F&P laundry is at peak level. My delicate clothing is avoiding vigorous wear and tear, even though front-load offers a delicate cycle. The controlled spin out speed is phenomenal. Clothes are noticeably softer and brighter. F&P laundry is amazing and I would recommend to any consumer.

So then I went and researched a little about Fisher Paykel and it sounded interesting. We checked it out and we liked it. It seemed like the mechanism was simple so it got fewer things to break on it. And we liked that it was a high efficiency top load so we purchased it. Its a fine washer. From the day I purchased my Fisher Paykel washer, it leaked. I had service techs out at least 5 or 6 times to repair it. First, they told me I was using too much laundry detergent. So I cut it in half. That was wrong, it still leaks. After 2 years, now, it has started making a high-pitched squealing sound. First, it started only when it started filling, then when it started to spin, and now all the time. It still leaks. Thank goodness, I was smart enough after the first flood to purchase a drain pan to sit it in, or I would be replacing floors constantly. The agitator has had to be replaced 3 times already. I would not recommend any Fisher Paykel appliances to anyone. The company is no help at all and the appliance store ( Maidencreek TV & Appliance, Reading, Pa) are useless. Their service techs are hopeless, as to what to do to fix the problem. They recommended I purchase an extended warranty since I was having so much trouble with the unit. If you want to throw your money away, just purchase a Fisher Paykel appliance. My new GE washer and dryer arrives on Friday. I told my husband to leave the washer in the yard and every time I use my new unit, I want to beat the Fisher Paykel with a sledge hammer and after that, I want to hook a chain to it and drag it behind my truck.

After delivery and hook up, I found that once you put the clothes into the machine and started the washer, the lid locked until the end of the cycle. I am not able to open the lid without turning off the wash cycle. In the old machine, the lid locked when the spin cycle was on. Now, I am unable to see what the washer is doing or how much it is filling. I called the customer care department to find out what could be done to override this feature during the fill and rinse cycle and an answer from a supervisor, named Bernice, is that I should wash by hand if I am so concerned about how my clothes are being washed. In the past, I have found this company to be difficult when trying to purchase parts; but this goes way beyond attitude. We had a double drawer dishwasher installed as part of our kitchen refurbishment last May. Within two months, the dishwasher would not drain. Contacted customer service - NOT - and after being on hold for a long time, I was finally told to contact a company called Millers Ltd. UK to arrange an engineer to come and fix the problem. This company sent out one of the rudest young men I have ever encountered and he left the dishwasher un-repaired, so we had to contact the kitchen company to make other arrangements, dishwasher fixed. In February 2015 the tines in the tray of the upper drawer broke. I went online to order a new tray and tines at a total cost of £73.40, I ordered what was in the photo on Fisher & Paykel website. The tray arrived without the tines. After several phone calls and mindless music, I finally managed to convince an assistant called Ula that if she checked her website, she would see what I thought I was ordering and therefore could she send me the tines. This she did and they all snapped while trying to fix them to the tray. We have since managed to do a DIY job on this tray. In March of this year, the upper drawer again would not drain, clean the dishes - so back onto Fisher Paykel and the awful music. Again given a number to contact to arrange an engineer to visit, told the assistant about our previous experience and asked that that company not be used again. A very helpful engineer arrived the next day and instantly knew the problem and replaced the rotor in the upper drawer, he had one on-hand as he had dealt with this problem several times. July, both drawers very noisy, not cleaning dishes and a red light and bleeping from the upper drawer. Contact Fisher & Paykel and again straight onto the awful music, finally get through to Hannah, who cannot find a contact number for my post code. Oops its my fault that she misheard my post code and was looking in the wrong area. I explain as best I can the problem and previous history, she tells me to contact the previous company I used in March. This I do to be informed that they no longer deal with Fisher & Paykel as their machines have multiple problems. Contact Fisher & Paykel and Hannah, again to be given a number which turns out to be Millers UK, a company I will never use or recommend. Try to contact Hannah again but am beaten by the awful music. Instead I am now getting an independent assessment of the machine and will be going back to the kitchen company that recommended the dishwasher and installed it, as to whether or not they will have to replace it with a better-quality machine.

I have had to have my ovens repaired 3 times in 5 years. When using the self-cleaning mode it locked up and wouldnt open. Had to have a service guy come out and fix to the tune of $900. Now I cleaned it again and it takes forever to heat up. I just talked to the service guy again and he says it sounds like the element is going out. I do not use my ovens that much. How could I have so many problems with it. Wish I had bought a different brand and now I am thinking maybe that be a better option.

Horrible, horrible machine. I purchased a washer in 2007. The diverter valve had to be replaced within one year. Next, the pump failed; water leaked everywhere and shorted out the computer. We waited several weeks for replacement part. That pump failed as well. Another new pump was replaced in March 2011, and now the machine is leaking again. The water is coming from the pump. We called F&P customer service, and after discussing our problems with F&P, we were shocked to learn that you cant use bleach in these machines. To me this seems like someone selling a lawn mower that cannot cut grass. I will never buy an F&P product again. Ive read F&Ps responses on this site, and their responses are wholly unsatisfactory. Sure machines will need maintenance and repair, but I think a machine is inherently defective when its cost of repairs exceeds the purchase price within a short period of time.

About 4 years ago, we purchased a Fisher and Paykel Intuitive Eco washer. In the beginning we were very happy with our new product. Just shy of our warranty running out we experienced our first problem. It was pertaining to the pump/drain hose. Now, in the last month we have had to replace the pump and circuit board. It started with the beeps and a fault code. After turning the washer off and back on as instructed by the manual it began working again. A few loads of laundry later and now we smell a hot burning smell then the code alerts and now the washer stops working. We start with replacing the pump. Then the circuit panel goes out. Our repair man says the circuit board went out because of the motor so now they have an inline fuse to prevent this, its an upgrade. Okay, so we replace both parts. Great problem solved. Wrong.

We purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, which was far more expensive than any other fridge that we considered. After delivery, we called to say that it was not cooling. The technician came once and added gas. After a day, it again stopped cooling. The technician came again, realized that there was a leak, and soldered some wires. When it started working, it was noisy. We called again, and they said they would replace the fridge the following week. They sent a truck to pick up the faulty one, and when we called the store to ask when the new one would be delivered, we learned that FP had changed their mind and did not want us as customers. We were left with rotting food and no fridge.

My nightmare began when I bought a DCS 48 inch dual fuel range/ovens from Aggressive Appliance, Orlando, FL. I immediately had problems with the light, thermostat knobs and then the problems grew... My ovens would not heat about 300/350 degrees and then would not maintain that temperature. Aggressive Appliances came out over six times to fix my problems. Eventually, after replacing the third thermostat (which I was told was the only part that they didnt make... yeah right!) they said that they could not fix it. The Regional Sales Manager Peter **, then came out and he couldnt fix it either. He then said that they would replace it. I asked him at that time what would happen if the second DCS range did not work, would I be able to get my money back and he said yes, that that wasnt going to happen. Well, you guessed it... Friday they put in the second DCS 48 inch dual fuel range/ovens and the large oven does not even get warm, the light does not go off, the grill had three dents in it. This has been a continuous nightmare which is only going to get worse because I have already sent out over 118 invitations to a huge event at my house which will be catered. They want to try and fix the second range when they should have made sure it worked before shipping it to me. Zero quality control. Save yourself the heartache. Spend a little more money and get something that will work. This product and company are not worth the headaches, tears and frustration. They do not honor their expressed warranty, nor apologize (until I pointed out that no one had even said sorry), nor offer consequential or incidental damages. What was supposed to be an exciting, joyful purchase has been a living hell. Hopefully, you will be wiser because of my pain.

Washer and dryer bought in 2005 from appliance store paid twice as much as I would have on any other unit because salesperson assured me they would last forever. He failed to tell me they would last forever as long as I didnt mind replacing pump and boards in washer every 8-12 months and bearings in dryer every 2 years, and thats without any use on dryer from April to September-October, as I hang everything on line in summer months. Somehow it seems strange that along with lots of other people its always something we did to cause the problem! Has anyone looked into or know if we have the grounds for a class action suit? I will check into it, unless someone already has. I cant believe I tried to submit this form and it failed because it wanted me to rate it using star method? Should be a negative star choice.

I purchased the FP Eco washer and dryer at Lowes on 5-12-09. The washer died yesterday after only 4 years. I was told by the salesman that FP was a superior product and I especially liked the ECO features as I am environmentally conscious. To call a serviceman and pay $100s in repairs is not worth it. I may as well buy a new washer. So much for ECO friendly as my FP washer will now wind up in a dump. FP washer was a total waste of money. This time, Ill buy another Maytag. My last one lasted 10 years.

My four year old washing machine just died in the middle of a wash cycle. There was no indication on the digital display. I validated power to the unit then called customer service and asked for help but got nowhere. Basically, the control unit is divided into two component parts: display and motor control. Power goes to motor control, which controls the display. I located the specs sheet and tried to get out error codes, but no luck (now that’s a design flaw. How can the display board tell you it has a problem when it could be the problem?). So, it’s either the display ($160) or the motor control ($140). Both are easy units to replace. So I asked whether I could buy both units and return the one I dont use. Their answer was no. So what are my options? Have a repair guy come in at $100 who will then do what I can do for another $50 and then charge me for a marked-up part because hell tell me that’s their handling fee. End of the story is I have to make a decision to replace a 4-year-old product for another machine which would cost me about $550. The real kicker is I bought this machine and it replaced a 15-year-old machine that worked.Another thing, although the customer service had plenty of “Im sorry” they, like the repair shops who are dancing all the way to the back, are absolutely useless. My recommendation is do not buy from Fisher & Paykel, located in New Zealand. Buy from a local US company. At least you have the option of protesting outside their office.

I purchased a model GWL 15 from Lowes in 2006, along with a top-loading dryer. My wife loves them both, and we have been trouble-free until last evening when the washer would not start and a continuous clicking noise was heard. I found the clicking was caused by the door lock solenoid valve operating, but not holding the locking pin in as it repeatedly energized and then de-energized the solenoid. The door lock light blinked in time with the solenoid. I suspect control board problems, but it is Saturday and I cant get any help. Does anyone know of this problems solution?

We remodeled our kitchen 3 years ago. We bought FP appliances because we liked the look of them. They are very sleek, with most other brands being big and bulky looking. In the 3 years we have had a service call on the refrigerator, dishwasher and oven. We have now been without an oven for 3 months. We have had 4 service calls and no one can fix it. It takes about one hour to heat up and then the service guy said it is off 80 degrees. They have finally decided to replace it, on our extended warranty. The question is whether to get another FP. They appear to break a lot and no one can repair them. Thats why I came to this website.

Refrigerator model #E522BLX - I bought this fridge 4 years ago from SEARS Canada because my 35 year old never repaired Amana fridge suddenly broke down. I had a problem finding a fridge that would fit in the space built around the Amana and wasnt in a position to renovate the kitchen to accommodate a new fridge. I didnt know anything about the Fisher Paykel brand, and unfortunately, relied on the Sears appliance specialists knowledge and honesty.I was advised that the fridge had a very good 5 year warranty and excellent customer service and Sears would also stand behind the brand should anything go wrong. I bought it because it was the only fridge, at the time, that could fit in the space and I paid about $2,000 for it. Well 2 months ago the fridge started to make a noise that sounded similar to the noise I heard when my Amana fridge broke down. That was related to a compressor problem. The noise has steadily worsened and its driving me up a wall.I found out from Sears Canada that they no longer carry the Fisher Paykel brand (I wonder why) and therefore cant provide me with any service. When I contacted the FP customer service # I was directed to someone in New Zealand and I quickly concluded that their so called excellent customer service was totally false. I further learned that the fridge I bought has been discontinued (I wonder why). The extent of their assistance was to provide me with service repair contacts in the U.S. Anyone I contacted in Toronto is unwilling to service the model. It is now Christmas and I am now out of a fridge and $2000. FP doesnt give a damn. Although they did not outwardly admit it but I think they knew that there was an embedded defect with their fridge and therefore discontinued it without advising customers like me.There should have been a recall notice and offer to replace the model or at least make some effort to repair problems without costing the customer big bucks and aggravation. Do not ever buy anything manufactured by Fisher Paykel. And dont buy any appliance from Sears. Their appliance specialists are not specialists and are trained only to make a sale at the customers risk. They will not ensure that: your satisfaction continues long after your initial purchase. This is the statement that they include in their brochure.

My favorite feature is the automatic water level where I dont have to choose (like is this a large, a medium load?) I feel like Im saving water because Im not choosing a larger load size unnecessarily. When we went to the store to buy a new unit, the appliance salesman was telling us 6 to 8 years is more typical for newer machines (our previous washing machine lasted 25 years). My husband especially wanted something really high quality that would last. This particular salesman who actually is the owner of the store said he owned a Fisher & Paykel and that it would be the highest quality brand that they carry that would last the longest.

We as people have grown to trust in name brands, however those days have long gone. I consider myself an economist the type shopper researches not impulses when buying a major purchase however it has come to past unless you have disposable income and dont mind re-buying the same item within 7-10 years if you dont mind then read no further, this article, complaint doesnt apply to you.2009 purchased a Fisher & Paykel washer from Sears. Bought the extended service contract and within the first year the mainboard, the inner tub were replaced. I placed a complaint on this site several years ago and was notified while on vacation concerning my complaint. At first I was confused, caught off guard and shocked that F&P would intervene and take over the complaint and order the correct UPGRADED parts. Sears Tech had no idea were available and ordered the normal routine parts even when I mention the possibility I was ignored. In the end, Sears took all the credit and basically did nothing. Most reputable companies dont want complaint especially when they are logged with the BBB or Respectfully The Attorney General although some dont care. Brand name, dont mean a thing. It pays to buy cheap and skip the bells and whistles. It doesnt pay for the short time of enjoyment usually a one year warranty if the extended was not purchased and then hear we dont contact when the warranty about to expire. Sears tell lies I was contacted on items out of warranty and they wanted me to renew. As for Fisher & Paykel I should have requested a return after the initial replacement. I thought this company was quality. I was wrong.

We purchased a new Fisher Paykel refrigerator in MAY of 2013 (two months ago). When delivered and plugged in, the compressor was very loud and created a tone that is at a frequency that is intolerable. High pitch buzzing. This is straight out of the box. After 2 months, 6 service calls and three days off from work and new parts, it keeps whinging along. So loud it is causing my ears to ring. Fisher Paykel is not responsive and is giving the business we bought it from a runaround (Cocoplum appliance Essex, Vermont). Even after filing a complaint with the US FTC and the State of Vermont Consumer Affairs, there is no resolution. We are waiting to hear back today and if no response, we will get a personal injury attorney to work on a hearing damage claim. It is probably the only way to approach this as theres no where to turn. I do not understand that when they delivered a defective product, they dont back it up with the warranty.

Its so sad to say that I was let down by the company. When I called F&P Customer Service line, I had to wait on hold for almost 30 minutes to finally talk to someone. I wanted the tri-folder, the French door refrigerator, and when I found out that a full-sized one would not fit in my house, I started looking for the counter-depth one and I happened upon the Fisher&Paykel. I like to shop through Lowes because of their stuff and I found out Lowes sold them and serviced them. But they really should have one on display so people can see them and see what they look like. Because you really have to see it to appreciate it. So I contacted a Fisher&Paykel place out in California and asked them some questions and I told them I wanted to see one first. They sent me some sites by Lancaster, PA which I ended going to Mount Joy to see one on display but I didn’t buy it from them. I ended up going to it was like an Ace hardware store that sold the appliances... And oh my God, I love it! My Fisher&Paykel refrigerator performs beautifully and its sleek. Even the delivery guys had never seen one or heard of them before and they were just all over it, looking at it and thought how nice it was. And the size of it is just fine for everything for where its at. Anyone looking for one especially for a counter-depth would be worth their while to check this Fisher&Paykel refrigerator out.

This is a follow-up to the review I wrote on 6-15-13. I sent F&P (Lisette **) an email early, early Saturday morning, like 4:00 a.m. her time. I received an out-of-office reply that she would be out of the office for a couple of more days, so I wasnt hopeful that I would hear back soon. BUT GUESS WHAT? She emailed me back at 5:30 a.m. her time - just 90 minutes later - letting me know that she has asked someone to call me and get things going, and that it would be covered under warranty. One hour later someone from F&Ps NEW ZEALAND office called and got things set up for us! And it is now Monday morning and the service guy is here fixing the washer. So that is indeed terrific service again from F&P that we have received on a machine that has had several service calls. It is outside of the warranty period, but I am glad that they are standing by their product since there were obviously some design problems with the F&P washers that Lowes pushed in 2008 and 2009. The other day, my husband was doing laundry and part-way through the load, the washer started beeping and stopped working. He then called the customer support center and got the name of the Fisher Paykel dealer here in town to see how much it would cost to get it serviced. While he was on the phone with the customer support rep, he was told that based on the lights that were showing up it was an error code 346, but was not told what that meant. This morning we called to see what it would cost to have someone come out just to look at the washer and were told he would cost $75! I think that is a large fee, considering we live in the same town less than a mile away. Today, I was looking online and read that the warranty was usually around 2 years. Im sure our washer wasnt 2 years old, so I called the customer support number myself, after taking down the model number, to find out if the washer was still under warranty. The guy on the phone was not able to tell me if the washer was under warranty or not. He didnt even offer to take down the serial number to see when the washer was made, but told me to call the store we purchased it from to see if they still have a record of when the purchase was made. We purchased this washer from Sears and shortly after we bought it, they stopped selling this brand. What should we do if they do not have a copy of the receipt? I dont even think our bank records go back any further than a year online. I have searched to see if I could find the transaction, but have not been able to. I would hate to buy a new washer after only owning this one for less than 2 years, and really dont want to pay $75 just to have someone look at it and then pay for repairs on top of it.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel custom designed refrigerator 3 years ago. We were leery of buying a $4,000 refrigerator for the same reasons people are advised not to buy a Jaguar - frequent problems, expensive parts and service. Well, we bought it because it could be built to fit in the design of our new kitchen. Two days ago, we noticed a pool of water had begun to make its way across the floor. We called and were told the next available service appointment was February 8th, 19 days away.Problem is, we sold our house and are leaving in 4 days, moving out of state. Fisher gave us the name of a subcontractor repairman. We waited two days for an appointment with him. He just left and said the refrigerator was installed incorrectly to begin with and now needs a part that should have been used in the first place. That part will not be available for 5 days, the day after we move out of state. Long story made short is, in 64 years, I have never had a refrigerator break down and leak. Never. And certainly not a $4,000 one. Never again.
