I have bought Maytag dryers for many years and after trying to repair my old one, I just gave up and looked around for a new gas dryer. I finally found exactly the type of dryer I was looking for. To my surprise, it was not a Maytag, it was a Fisher Paykel. I was not familiar with this brand, but it was just what wanted. I have now had it for seven months and I couldnt be happier.

I needed a new fridge and I found a Fisher & Paykel fridge with a design that I love. Its been a year and a half now. I like that its big and theres a lot of space inside. Its performing well and the only problem I have is the water machine and the temperature control which is not working. Its not under guarantee so Im trying to see what my other options are. Its a good fridge, if I fix the little problem, it will be perfect.

I bought a $2500 gas range and it was broken as soon as I took it out of the box. When I turned on the oven, the fan failure light came on, so I couldnt use it. I contacted them and two weeks later, a repair technician showed up. He had to order new parts and two weeks later, he installed them, so I could finally use the oven. Once I was able to use the oven, I discovered that the fan that cools the outside of the oven was extremely noisy and vibrated the whole appliance. I contacted them again and a month later, he showed up with a new fan. He installed the new fan and it didnt make a difference. By this time, I had also discovered that even though I set the oven at 200 degrees, the lowest temperature I could get in the oven was 325. Five months later, he came back with special tape to put around the noisy fan which made a difference. Although it is still a little noisy, I can live with it compared to the racket it was making before. He also brought a new thermostat and spent hours installing that. It didnt fit, so the oven knob doesnt fit on right, I have to leave the escucheon off to put the knob on. I cant light the oven with the knob on. I have to turn to the desired temperature, pull off the knob, stick my finger in the hole and press the thing in to get the oven to light. It still didnt fix the problem with the oven and now three of the burners dont work. I bought this stove in September 2010. Its now December 2011 and the problems keep getting worse. All of the delays are either from their representative not getting back to the repairman, or the parts being back ordered for months at a time. This is the worst appliance I have ever owned and I would not recommend this brand to anyone - the oven doesnt work properly; only two out of five burners work and repairs have been dragged out for fifteen months.

We went to an appliance store down in Houston and we had tested several washers. Fisher Paykel is what we first bought. We found out the ease of the repair and the warranty so we bought a washer. And then my dishwasher went out and I needed a new one so we went to the same place. Since we had such good luck with the washing machine, we went with the dishwasher also. I love the new models - love the efficiency. I love that they dont use a whole lot of water or energy and the results of the clean are as good, if not better, than a model that uses all the water and all the electricity. It doesnt cost me a million dollar to have them repaired. My experience has been fantastic. Ive had one problem with my washing machine and it was very easy to take a part and we found a YouTube video and took it apart and replaced the part ourselves. So instead of having someone come out and we have to pay them $120 just to look at it, for $60 for the part and everything, it was done and over within 15 minutes.

Our F&P refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation and when
Our F&P refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation and when we got home, we called the F&P dealer. They told us it was 2 months out of warranty and we should call any repair service we choose to fix it. Our repairman told us the motherboard had burned out (you could see the soot) from a power surge which could have been prevented by a surge protector. Cost to repair is $448. No one at the appliance store told us we should have a surge protector. There is no information on the refrigerator or on the power cord to recommend one. The installers just plugged it in and that was that. I hold F&P responsible for not letting us know about the need for a surge protector. To make matters worse, the motherboard for our refrigerator is back ordered. We will be without a refrigerator for two or three weeks until it comes in. That seems an unconscionably long time to wait without a refrigerator. Evidently F&P has problems managing their parts inventory and about servicing their customers. After this I called F&P in New Zealand on the advice of the repairman. He thought they might pay for a new mother board. Turns out I should have called an F&P authorized repairman first. No one at the F&P dealer told me that. I had already paid for our repairmans first visit and he took the motherboard with him to see if he could get a temporary fix (he couldnt). So I asked for the phone number of the local F&P authorized dealer so I could explain what had happened. I was told that they wouldnt give me his phone number because of privacy issues. I cant make any sense of that: a refrigerator repairman who wont give out his phone number? What kind of repairman is that? Our cat got sick and will require refrigerated meds for 10 days. Thats a hassle without a refrigerator. But the person I talked to at F&P never acknowledged that the breakdown of their almost new F&P product was making my life difficult or expressed any empathy or sympathy at all. It was like talking to an attorney, not a customer care rep. Maybe thats the way they treat customers in New Zealand, but it sure doesnt go over very well over here.

I have a number of friends who had had Fisher Paykel in kitchen remodels. I heard good and bad, and my designer recommended it once we got started with the kitchen. He said Fisher Paykel made all the dishwasher drawers for everybody else. So we might as well go with the one who makes the most of them. I have a full-sized dishwasher to handle everyday other things but I wanted something just for little things throughout the day that build up in the sink. When I saw them, I was very impressed and I was extremely pleased with it. I like that it holds everything and its easy to operate. This was my first purchase of a Fisher Paykel. I had problems with it in the beginning. I dont know whether it was related to the person who installed it or the way that it was installed. Every time I went to use it for the first two weeks, I got an error message. We finally figured out that it was pushed too far back in the cabinet and it was pushing into the waterline every time that happened so it was causing the error message to tell me that it wasnt connected. But I like it now a lot.

Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer
Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer over icing around the fan area on the rear panel. In memory all that was fixed was the rear panel. The fan cover/vent was not even replaced and was left without one. I dont believe anything was done about the over icing of the back fan area. Then in late September 15 my customer reports the freezer is still defrosting intermittently throughout the many months, but only occasionally. So in September your serviceman visits and says its the door hinge/latch not closing properly causing the light to come on and thus defrosting the freezer. So he fixes it, then the problem continues. So then he orders new hinge latch parts and replaces it and the problem continues. Meanwhile the month and another month has gone by where my customer has a freezer which is defrosting all her food. Food is expensive and she has 6 children and is pregnant. So by now I have spoken to management in your service department a several times to discuss a fast solution. To be informed nothing can be done except send another service man out to fix it.I requested a different serviceman as he has not been able to fix the problem, always stating it is the door hinge/latch. I think he has been there 5 times now. Your management team advises me the serviceman is the person who decides if the fridge can be fixed or not. If he states it cant then the item will be replaced or refunded. (The technician states he is not allowed to report it cant be fixed. He HAS to fix it!!!) So now we are in December the heat is coming in, xmas food needs cooling and the fridge is not keeping the food cold enough either. The lady is pregnant and concerned she may get sick from food/dairy that is not being cooled effectively. So last week I asked management to send another technician. They said this was not possible but they will instruct the technician to ring the service team to discuss the fridge while he was there, to insure the fridge was assessed correctly. To ensure this was going to happen I, the manager of the appliance rental company, attended todays visit to hopefully finalise this ongoing saga. The technician immediately commented on the hinge/latch again.I reported to him that the new parts he replaced did not fix the freezer door coming ajar when the fridge door closed, because I myself checked the problem the very evening he fixed it. And the problem was not any better. I advised of him having to ring the service team while we were all present. He said he had no instruction to do so. But he did, which was a waste of time because your phone service consistently takes close to an hour to speak to someone. I know because I have had to ring this department many times now.So I communicated I dont believe the door is the initial issue. It may be now as it has been tampered with a few times to fix it. Much to his frustration he started to investigate into the freezer. Oh he reports the fan has been intermittently turning off/ not working, therefore this would defrost the fridge slightly and intermittently. I looked in and the fan area, behind the rear panel was solidly blocked with ice, preventing the fan to turn even if it did work intermittently. He says thats ok we will just order all these parts and replace them in a few weeks. When the fan was reported faulty/broken I believe this was the cause of the very first problem back in October 14 and explains why the freezer has been intermittently defrosting. Your technician said it himself. MEANWHILE the lady is losing all her food (which is expensive), the heat is upon us and christmas is here. AND WE ARE STILL WAITING for a fridge to be working. The lady also wants to be reimbursed for food expenses as her patience has also run out. Initially I wanted the fridge replaced. Now after months of ineffective service, I am expecting a refund as it would be bad business to purchase/rent any of Fisher and Paykel appliances simply due to your warranty service procedures. So what to do now? As it is now heading into the 4th month and I think the 5th visit to fix this fridge, and it is still not fixed, I have no more patience. I will not be ringing anymore to be told all you can do is send the technician out again, to assess and fix it. This seems to be the solution even when the fridge is not being fixed. Please consider this email as a formal complaint to be forwarded to the relevant department. Please also be informed I will be sending this email to Consumer Affairs and providing feedback on Fisher and Paykels Facebook on the very poor warranty service provided by your team.I have been continually bumped to alternative team members whom contradict what can be done about FIXING this fridge. I am an appliance rental company whom purchases a lot of appliances. Under no circumstances will I purchase another appliance manufactured by Fisher & Paykel. I will also be informing the 110 franchisees of the ineffective warranty service your company provides. In our business warranty work costs us time, money and sales!

I replaced Fisher & Paykel dishwasher with the same brand item. The drawers are not of equivalent size. One is a little bit larger and the other one is a little smaller and Im actually liking it. I bought some of the appliances at the same time and there was a Fisher & Paykel rep there and I spoke to him and were playing around with it. So far I think its great. The last ones were not that great. I purchased a home with the dishwashers in the home and I did not call in the repairman.I decided that I was going to replace them because they were 10 years old but my understanding is to get them serviced is very difficult. I like the new ones better. I use these for dishes and they are very nice. Its in my second home so Ive used them only five times but from what Ive used so far, Id give them a five although Im afraid because I havent had to service them and I do hear little horror stories.

It’s a fairly new house. We had a builder’s dishwasher that we werent satisfied with. The area below it is a finished area, we were concerned about leakage in it and it was the only one that had a pump out cycle if there’s a leak detected – it’s my favorite thing about it. Ive had it for 4 - 5 months and it’s been pretty good. The performance has been fine except that you can only use powder.

My friend’s husband is an engineer and told me they bought a Fisher & Paykel because her husband had done some research and said that they had the fewest moving parts of any washing machine. And fewer moving parts is a good thing. I needed a washing machine, so I bought one and that was four or five years ago, and I’m pleased with it. I just got the dryer in August and I already had to have a new heating element put in. I don’t know if it’s the dryer’s problem or if it’s my ductwork’s problem but the outside vent is getting clogged up and I never had that before. But that doesn’t seem like it could be the dryer’s problem and we haven’t figured out what it is because I don’t think there’s a lot of lint in the lint screen. And so I can’t understand how the lint can bypass the lint screen and go out the outside vent. They need to send a repairman. As far as how they look, they’re fine. In price, they’re all in the same ballpark. And as far as performance, I don’t know because I haven’t tried that many others. I used to be a Whirlpool customer and I had wonderful luck with Whirlpool. But then I bought an Amana washer and dryer in 2004 and I had to replace the washing machine with the Fisher & Paykel, and then I just replaced the dryer. The dryer issue hasn’t been resolved yet but we are quite pleased with our Fisher & Paykel washing machine.

Ive had Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart Washing Machine Model Number WL26CW1
Ive had Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart Washing Machine Model Number WL26CW1 for approximately 7 years now and there has been big trouble. After the 2 year warranty expired it started to have problems. I contacted F&P and a repairman came out within a couple days. He determined that the washer needed a new circuit board (brain) which he would have to order. It took about 6 weeks to get the new brain and have it installed at a cost of almost $250 US.One and a half years after the new brain was installed the machine developed a new problem with the LCD display which is located on the circuit board (brain). Sometimes the LCD display cannot be viewed, nothing shows up in the window. Other times it works fine or it will show the wash selections in a faint image to which I can make a selection. The times that the wash selections are not visible I just count off the selections until I reach the one that I want (yes, Ive memorized them) and the washer will engage and work. However, at the end of any wash cycle instead of stopping the selected wash cycle starts all over and will continue to run over and over and over until I intervene and turn the machine off. Ive been doing this now for almost 4 years. I refuse to pay another $250 US plus to buy another new brain (circuit board) and dont want to buy a new washing machine until this F&P money drain totally craps out.

I purchased Fisher&Paykel Refrigerator (model E522BRXFD) Oct. 2011 for its look and fit into my kitchen space. It turned out to be a serious mistake. Two years after the purchase, the plastic drain pan of the frig broke, which let water flow over my brand new hardwood floor for days. Not even three years after the purchase, the frig stopped working. The freezer part seems OK, but the frig compartment no longer cools even I put the temperature control dial to the lowest level. I called Fisher/Paykel and the answer was their repair technician was busy and I have to wait for a week for an appointment. Now I am stuck with a broken frig. I paid triple amount of money to purchase this Fisher&Paykel brand when compared with my prior Whirlpool frig, which I used 25 years and never gave me any trouble.

I purchased my DCS in 2004. Over the years I had to replace several parts - okay, I accept that high cost of owning a commercials style appliance. February 2019: I began to notice an issue with the oven sensor. I called my service rep who immediately came to check. He indicated that I should get a new oven sensor - if the part is available. Hmmm... Two days later the tech informed me that they were not able to get the part, that I could try to call Fisher Paykel direct. After much hold time I was informed by Fisher Paykel that parts are no longer available for my model. I was politely told that the law only requires them to keep parts for 7 years and after that they have no obligation to do so. The most insulting response, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Inconvenience? This is not an inconvenience! This is a high end appliance rendered useless for want of a sensor or workaround with a substitute part. DONT buy Fisher Paykel, its not poor customer support you will receive, it is NO customer support you will get.

If you are looking for the ability to do different types of loads (light and dirty, or fine dishes and heavy pots) at the same time or if you usually do smaller loads more often and only large loads occasionally, this is the dishwasher for you. The interior of the dishwasher and the racks are amazingly designed. We can fit way more dishes bowls and cups that we thought would be possible in each drawer. The adjustable side shelves allowing for larger items below and then shorter items like coffee cups are so smartly designed. Further, this dishwasher cleans things perfectly. No spots, no missed areas and no running the load a second time to try to get it clean. And it runs on the quiet side for a dishwasher except for an occasional noise here or there when the pump runs to drain water.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwasher, my first F&P purchase. We had a designer help us redo our kitchen. We have a very tiny kitchen. She suggested it as space saving. The traditional one, the big door practically blocked the entire way; the dishwasher was at the end of the counter and when you open the door, there was hardly any room to walk in the kitchen. The drawers of this F&P dishwasher take up less space when you open them up and when you put dishes in, you don’t block the way to the kitchen. It’s very, very good! We especially like the function of it that you can do half a load at a time. We have a little 7 year old who lives with us and our daughter, and with all of us, a lot of dishes go through there and we don’t run out of dishes anymore, because she does little half loads and they’re ready. It’s very convenient and easy. And the quality, the way the dishes come out, they look very clean, very nice. We’re very happy because besides function, the other things with the space saving and ergonomically, the way it can be standing upright and drop things in, it’s just really nice all around! It’s very quiet as well.

I had a side-by-side fridge removed and I only have so much space in my kitchen and nothing else would fit except Fisher Paykel (although later I found out that Whirlpool also has one this size). I really like the bottom of the unit as it is and couldn’t care less about the bottle chiller or the quick freeze or whatever that is and the water dispenser is also okay. However, how could they make a fridge without any place to put lunchmeat? There’s no deli drawer! Our two drawers, they’re not for lunchmeat; they’re for putting lettuce or whatever. There are two containers on the doors on the top that I’m using one for cheese and one for butter but nothing specific for lunchmeat or cheese. Also, my daughter said she doesn’t like that the doors don’t ever shut, which is true. I must close it, slam it every time. It’s really getting to be a pain. I do think that there is some way to raise the front of the fridge because every time I open the door, it tweets or whatever. It makes a chime that the door is not closed. Aside from that, I don’t know how I’m going to handle that distilling thing in the back (but apparently, that’s only like once or twice a year) and I don’t like that the ice cubes freeze together at times. And they do… I just have to throw them all out. One other thing I don’t like is that fingerprints show so much - they weren’t supposed to.But even though this fridge is from New Zealand and when I have questions I don’t understand them and they don’t understand me (lol), we’re satisfied with it and I think it’s a good instrument. I think perhaps I’m not technologically savvy. If I were more into that, maybe I’d find more efficient use of it than I am.

Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximate
Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximately 4 years ago. During the four years, weve had the lint scraper replaced two times. It has broken again. When the lint scraper breaks, all of the lint from your clothes ends up getting caught inside the mechanism of the dryer or pushed out the dryer vent. We typically know we have a problem when the clothes stop drying in a timely manner; little lint is in our lint trap and the dryer vent has visible lint blocking it from the exterior of the house. It is somewhat surprising this dryer has not caused a fire. Ive had enough of worrying about lint getting trapped in our dryer vent and/or our lint trap breaking. The lint trap works perfectly for a short time frame, but the design and materials are not nearly robust enough for the premium you pay for this product. There is absolutely no question, this is the absolute worst appliance or piece of equipment Ive every purchased. I would give the dryer 0 stars if that was an option.

My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.

We purchased an F&P oven in October 2011. It did not work after installation. Our brand new expensive self-cleaning oven has had constant problems. We have had at least 4 repairs. The oven even failed on Christmas day and ruined our turkey as the oven wouldnt heat up. The techs dont seem to know what was wrong with it but F&P refuses to replace this faulty product. We are now waiting for a new door and F&P review to come out. So we are supposed to lose more work time and use our holiday to wait in for half a day. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. I will never buy F&P again.

I had the pump and panel replaced (by a Fisher&Paykel recommended company) at a cost of about $400. Later had another problem with the washer and called a different repairman who told me there was probably no need for the replacement of those parts. The problems this time were due to something getting caught underneath something and was a simple repair for him, at a fraction of the cost for the parts replacements.

I never post. DON’T BUY A Fisher & Paykel FREEZER! Way too expensive for the freezer to produce 8 ice cubes per 45 minutes. I can’t imagine this product is still on the market. Had service rep out and our ice maker is fine! This freezer is awful. I’d never buy this brand again.

Fisher & Paykel appliances came with the home that I moved in in April. The fridge, the dishwasher and the stove. The fridge is good, the size of the dishwasher is good and I like the style of the dishwasher... theyre very quiet too! The only thing is the top of the stove... it gets dirty and I dont know how to clean it. I use cleaner for stainless steel, for the stove top cleaner, and nothing seems to be able to get off the residue.

I have had my Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for about 10 years. I absolutely love the concept of two drawers for washing dishes since I always have an empty washer that I can load. But I have to admit I have not been 100% satisfied with the unit. The top washer has always had issues and I have had it serviced almost every year for the last 10 years. Most of the time it will beep and stop running through the cycle for no reason. And even when it does run through the cycle, some of the dishes will need to be run again. It is not always super clean as I would expect from a good dishwasher. I am told that the newer models do not have the computer at the bottom of both drawers, which causes it to short circuit a lot. I hope the newer models are better at cleaning the dishes than mine is.

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so
7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. WHO WOULD LOVE THIS FRIDGE People who: - Have more fresh food than frozen food - Don't need to store extra deep items (large pizza box, for example)* SEE UPDATES - Appreciate removable storage bins - Like sleek, simple, modern design - Want to maximize the storage of the inside of their fridge - Like good lighting - Want to be able to fill pitchers and other large containers from the door water dispenser - Want easy opening and closing doors - Want to be able to view everything in their fridge at a glance without needing to move things out of the way. Our drum support broke out of our front load washer and so then I was looking around. A friend recommended a local appliance store and that was the friend that they had featured on their website. So then I went and researched a little about Fisher Paykel and it sounded interesting. We checked it out and we liked it. It seemed like the mechanism was simple so it got fewer things to break on it. And we liked that it was a high efficiency top load so we purchased it. Its a fine washer. I like that it adjusts the water level based on how much clothes you have on. Thats always my favorite thing.

To my surprise, I was contacted by the company and my machine was fixed, free of charge, within 5 hours. Washer and dryer bought in 2005 from appliance store paid twice as much as I would have on any other unit because salesperson assured me they would last forever. He failed to tell me they would last forever as long as I didnt mind replacing pump and boards in washer every 8-12 months and bearings in dryer every 2 years, and thats without any use on dryer from April to September-October, as I hang everything on line in summer months. Somehow it seems strange that along with lots of other people its always something we did to cause the problem! Has anyone looked into or know if we have the grounds for a class action suit? I will check into it, unless someone already has. I cant believe I tried to submit this form and it failed because it wanted me to rate it using star method? Should be a negative star choice.

Our very expensive F&P washer and dryer set, has had serious problems for the last few years. Washing machine cant run a cycle without stopping over and over again and having to reset it. Dryer periodically has to be unplugged just to turn on and it is also making weird squealing sounds and sounding erratic when running. Just to name a few problems. I have tried and tried to contact the company to find someone who can come out to look at, and possibly repair, the machines. But, the company doesnt even reply to my attempts to get in touch with them. Nothing, no reply, no help, no follow up, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. It is pretty ridiculous to have machines that were in the highest price bracket, start failing after only about 5 years. And it is even more ridiculous for a company to not even reply to its customers when they reach out for assistance. Very disappointed.

A few short years ago I bought a new F&P fridge. About 12 months outside warranty it stopped working. The technician told me the failure was so serious it would be cheaper for me to buy a new fridge. Which I did. Foolishly I bought another F&P (I was still laboring under the delusion it was a good brand.) That fridge stopped working three months outside the warranty period. The technician (from F&P) tried to fix it once and failed. Tried a second time and failed. By this time I had been without a fridge for days. He then tells me he will have to send way for parts and that might take a few days. In the same breath he tells me hes not quite sure whats wrong with the fridge. Could be the compressor as well. I told him to forget the whole thing. I bought a new fridge. You can bet it was not a Fisher and Paykel. (Both fridges only ever had light use by the way.) Caveat emptor..

We bought a dual drawer Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2009 for a house that we were building. Due to problems with the builder, the dishwasher sat unpacked in a garage for a year. When it was finally installed, it didnt work! First, the bottom drawer didnt drain. We called a plumber to come look at it. He called the Fisher & Paykel appliance rep. They recommended that we install two separate drain lines. It still didnt drain. The appliance guy and plumber each came out again and we even tried a different plumber. Now the bottom drawer drains but the top one doesnt, which completely defeats the purpose of having a dual drawer dishwasher. We contacted Fisher and Paykel and Lowes where we purchased the appliance and neither would offer any assistance as the warranty had expired. We have only used the machine 20 times. Its such a shame and waste. Our KitchenAid dual drawer dishwasher at our old home worked much better with no problems. We had bought this one because we were told it was quieter. It is quieter because we dont use it

I have had the Fisher&Paykel Top Loading Dryer Model DEGX2 dryer since 10-2007. I had no problems with it until 3-9-2011 (bearings replaced). On 9-9-2011, dryer would not heat. Since then, I have had (as of 5-18-2012) eleven (11), under extended warranty service, calls for same problem. Dryer begins to leave clothes damp. I can see lint build up within lint scraper module (lint basket sits in this and it is not part of customer use to remove screw and module to clean lint that is not properly taken into basket). This module has been replaced and the new one had sticky residue all over it when I had no drying problem again. Warranty Company (Lowes) says the visits are a maintenance problem saying that I (the user) am not removing lint. (I do I empty the basket.) Nowhere in the users handbook does it say to take the lint module out and remove lint. This module is difficult to fit in properly; I have watched different repairmen have problems. This dryer is a pain. I paid a lot of money for it and it does not appear that the warranty company is going to back up replacement/refund due to how the repair visits are reported. I had this dryer for four years and until the bearing problem it was fine. I am angry. Do not buy Fisher&Paykel. Do not use Lowes extended protection plans.

This was my official complaint to Fisher and Paykel. I bought your product (washer and dryer) from Lowes 4 years ago. I spent roughly $1600-$1700. The product ran pretty well, and I enjoyed them for most part until our dryer stopped heating. I assumed it was the heating element, so I called around to see if I could have some service it. No one other than A&E Appliance Company services it. Every appliance service company said they used to service it, but could not get info and parts for them so they stopped. A&E sent someone out here for the service. He had no idea how to work on it. He spent 2 hours trying to open the dryer and had to have someone on the phone the whole time to tell him what to do. He finally determined it was the heating element at 8:00 at night. He said he would order the part and schedule a follow up appointment. I waited a week; no call from them. I called them up and asked what the deal was. They had no record of my previous appointment and said no one had ordered the part or made another appointment. I asked if they could give me the servicemans number. They said they did not have their numbers. I asked if they could get in touch with them and they said they would page them to call me. Three days later, no call. I called back and they said they would page them again. Three days later, no call. I said the heck with it and searched for the part myself. I found it, installed it but now there seems to be an electrical problem. I used my meter reader to find where the power failure was at. I thought I found the part that was needed. I went and bought another part, installed it and still it doesnt work. At that point we were a month in and I was $300 down. I was at the point where I was going to buy another dryer and sink the Fisher and Paykel dryer in the closest pond. I called 1 888 936 7872 and explained to them the situation and asked if Fisher and Paykel could make any suggestions before I sunk this piece of junk. They asked for me to call A&E again. I explained that I could not get anyone to come out here and that if I did, I would have to pay at least another $300-$400 for diagnostics, parts and labor. I only paid about $800 for it so that was out of the question. The representative then told me that she would open a file for me and F&P would make sure A&E came out and fixed it at no charge to us. For this I said, that would be great service and show the consumer that F&P was committed to service. We opened a file #** and they said they would call A&E to ensure someone came out to service me ASAP (at no charge). A&E calls me 2 days later and says we will be out there this morning to take a look at it, but I would be charged. I explained that F&P was to handle the charges. They said no. The service request mentioned nothing of that. They asked me to call F&P and sort it out so now I have to be acting as liaison between A&E and F&P. I called F&P again and I had to explain the whole situation again. This time the rep tells me they can probably waive the diagnostic fee but thats it. I said no, forget it, Ill go buy a dependable brand. She said she would contact Michael, who was the person that had authorized the request before, and she said she would call me later that day to let me know what she found out. Two days later, no call. I called A&E and asked if F&P has contacted them; nope! I call F&P again and asked for the status of my request. They say, Oh, no one submitted that request. At this point, I have had enough of playing liaison and being a sucker. I just went to Sears, bought a Maytag and have an $800 F&P dryer sitting in my laundry room that I am about to sink into a pond. I have NEVER in my life experienced such incompetence from two companies. I promise you I will never buy any F&P product ever again, and I have already begun spreading the word to my friends and whoever will listen. If you would like to get in contact with me, you can visit my new Facebook page. Dont ever buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance. I and many others are sick and tired of the lack of service this company provides. Your company’s service, along with A&E’s, is horrible!

I bought what I thought was a new model, an Aqua Smart WL-37, from the Warehouse Discount Center (WDC) on 5-16-11. I also bought an extended four-year warranty. The WL-37 failed less than three months later (8-10-11). It made a loud noise, and it went dead. No power. I called WDC for help, and they gave us a list of contractors. It turned out none of them travel to our town in Fillmore. This is even though when you first call the contractor, they say,” sure we will go to Fillmore”. However, once they try and locate us on a map, they thought it was “Sylmar”, not Fillmore.Anyway, we finally called P&K customer service. They also gave me a list of contractor folks who would go to Fillmore. I guess the good customer service representatives at Fisher and Paykel’s dont have good English skills, as they also gave us a list of contractors who go to Sylmar, not Fillmore. Finally, I got one who actually came to the house after a ten day delay. When the technician came inside, he asked me for the original sales receipt. The folks at Fisher & Paykel had no proof of sale, and because the WL37 is not the current model. I had a broken ankle and could not go upstairs to pull the receipt, even though I showed the technician the four-year extended warranty with a sale date of June, 2011, it was not good enough. So back to finding contractors who would go to Sylmar… err… Fillmore. Finally, I found one. Again, after another week lag they showed up on August 29. By this time, I was smart, and registered my unit on the Fisher & Paykel website, so the unit was verified under warranty. The technician came in and looked at the washer. He said it needed a new power board. He left his card, and said he would order it that day. Another eleven days have gone by, and I have heard nothing. This is despite leaving several messages to the technician and his store. I just finished contacting Fisher & Paykel customer service via its website customer care inquiry. Hopefully, they will contact me soon.

Fisher and Paykel make good products. The reason why I had to finally contact their service department was because after 17 years of faithful service, early in May of this year our washing machine lid broke a hinge. So I contacted them, provided make, model and serial number and a description of the fault. On 31st May their serviceman came. He had no knowledge of the make, model and serial number or the fault, so had no parts with him to effect a repair, but nevertheless charged us $125 and said he would be back within the week. We havent seen him since. Three weeks elapsed. I rang F & Ps 24/7 line and asked politely what was going on. They said they had contacted their parts depot and they would get back to me within the week with an ETA for the lid and the serviceman. They did not do this. Finally on Wednesday I rang them again and intimated in no uncertain terms that I was extremely annoyed with the situation. They told me that the serviceman would get back to me that afternoon. They lied. He hasnt. So I am drawn to the reluctant conclusion that this companys after-sales service department is staffed by a bunch of people whose sole reason for going to work is to get paid, and employs tradespeople of a similar mindset. My recommendation? Do not buy Fisher and Paykel - their products are fine, but if they break down they will not service them, and they will charge you for the privilege of not servicing them.

We have a friend who had a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. Ours had broken and the man who sold the two drawer dishwasher to us encouraged us to buy it as well. However, we dont particularly like it. The design is awful. We can hardly put any dishes in there. We have to run our dishwasher several times more than we would have to run a traditional dishwasher. You can put eight glasses in, and only a certain number of dishes and it has to be the right shape and size. Its really a pain. We wouldnt have purchased it. If we knew what it was like to live with it, we wouldnt do it again. We have another dishwasher in another home that we own, and that dishwasher is a much lower-end brand and its just a much better performing dishwasher too. Even when the dishes come out, we frequently have to put them back in again or wash them again.

Reading magazines like Bon Appétit, just going to stores and checking them out… I ended up buying a F&P DSC 305 Dual Fuel several years ago. It’s a a stove range. But then we moved and I wish I had taken it with me. But we moved again and I said, “That’s it, I’m getting another one.” My previous unit was very similar to what I have now. I bought it because of the quality last time and because the stove is a 5-burner and all of the burners, you can slide one from the other. Price was very good and certainly the BTU is where I want it to be, only this time the quality wasn’t as high. The oven wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it because the electric doesn’t get as hot as a gas would have. So it’s an excellent range, but a disappointing electric oven.

Do not purchase these products. The warranty is deceiving and does not cover parts if something does go wrong. Nothing on the stove is built to last. To get a simple knob replacement I have to have two repairmen come to do a 6 hour job and saw the whole top of the steel stove off. Customer Service told me I was lucky that the stove lasted one whole year. It cost $3k.

The Fisher Paykel dual drawer dishwasher is an excellent new example of high quality and performance in a kitchen dish washing appliance. The dual drawer is engineered wonderfully to provide multiple ways to perform, and perform it does! The two drawers provide flexibility beyond a normal/standard design. The loading capabilities are different yet provided with a lot of forethought given to providing space. It utilizes much more of the actual inside space of the two drawer/washers. Once you understand the loading capabilities of the provided inside racks and adjustment capabilities, the loading capabilities are creative and useful. Three simple buttons on the outside of each drawer provide easy execution of functions. The dual washers are extremely easy to start, stop or pause at any time, using the three simple buttons. The system has various wash cycles and times all easily accessed and executed by another single button conveniently located inside either drawers top edge. A small LED lit screen on each drawer face provides a moving icon that lets the user know have knowledge of what stage of a cycle the wash drawer is executing. The LED also shows the cycle time duration working backwards from a start time to the finish of the cycle. The Fisher Paykel system is very quiet working washer. Yes, you can hear some functions executing some times during the cycle, but it is very quiet overall. Most importantly, the Fisher Paykel Dual Washing system cleans and shines dishes, glassware and utensils with precision to a sparkling bright clean. This is especially true if the user does not allow large amounts of food to enter the system. Pre-rinsing is any dishwashers best friend! Use this kitchen appliance/tool correctly, and you will have a great dish washing experience with this product. By far, the Fisher Paykel Dual Dish Washing system is the highest quality, best working, and easy to use dish washing appliance I have ever had in any of my kitchens. I highly recommend the Fisher Paykel Dual Drawer Dish Washing Appliance/System for any kitchen.

When I went they didn’t have a washer at that time so I bought a different washer. When I had the washer and dryer together, we had them for 6-8 years and we never had any problem with them and I was very satisfied with it. If they had the washer at that time, I would have probably bought the washer also. Now I have the dryer and I just like the way it dries, the feature of it, the way it looks. It has the same steel drum.

The oven malfunctioned 2 months after purchase. We cook almost every day but use the oven less during the summer and had been out of town much of July so it was only used a few times before the malfunction. After 2 months, multiple service visits and calls to Fisher & Paykel, the unit was replaced under warranty. My impression is that it took considerable effort by myself, the warranty service provider, and the store I purchased the unit from to make any progress. (I never did hear from the rep who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hour following calls to Fisher & Paykel). The two malfunctions came on days we were hosting dinner guests (naturally) and we are worried about it working for a family gathering at Thanksgiving.

I went to Lowes and asked them if they could order it and they said yes. Our Sub-Zero had gone completely out. Weve had it for about 30 year. I was used to the old one but I love this one. I love the interior and everything except for one thing. There is no meat tray in it. And my husband would like it if a jug of milk could fit into the door. When it was delivered it had marks on the door and I got in touch with Fisher & Paykel about it. They told me theyre going to send someone to redo the doors or give us new doors. These were blemishes and theyre getting it taken cared of.

Weve had problems with both the washer and dryer. The washer leaked from the bottom and we had it repaired. The repairman explained that the cause was from not using the rinse cycle when washing whites and that they do not use bleach overseas. Now, our dryer is 3 1/2 years old and it’s in need of a repair. It sounds as though the bearing is going out of it. These were expensive appliances and one should be able to expect at least 10 years.

We bought a first generation Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher when we had our condo built back in 2000. We replaced it with a new Fisher & Paykel unit since the one that we had had a lot of quirk things about it and they were becoming too much of a challenge for us to deal with. We chose this model because my husband and I are empty nesters and we liked the idea of having a smaller dishwasher to fill and run rather than having to put every dish we own over a course of two weeks into a single regular size dishwasher. Our favorite feature is its two drawers. One of them is a deeper drawer that can easily handle big plates and platters. Its very quiet. It is water efficient. Its very attractive to look at. Theres nothing about the dishwasher that to me represents either a negative or settling for something. Its just absolutely perfect for us in every way. We are extremely happy with the product.

Lowes warrantied three replacement lids for the washer and three lids for the dryer. They would not warranty more than three per appliance. Fisher Paykel stated not to use stain remover on our laundry as it affects the plastic in the lid. Our warranty ran out on 11/24 and on 11/25, the dryer bearings went bad. We purchased F&P fridge and stove in November 2009 and have been having issues with both since the very beginning (which is not surprising, judging from this site). The purpose of this review is to give our feedback regarding the service weve been getting from local authorized dealers and support they get from the company. No matter what, do not buy any products from Fisher & Paykel! Trying to get their appliances fixed is even more frustrating than finding out that your appliance broke down after only a few months of service. Prepare to wait for weeks and dont be surprised if the problem reoccurs within days or hours of the fix. Then, wait a few more weeks. There is no urgency, no ownership, no pride. I dont believe the company cares. Did you read their responses to customer complaints? They sound like a broken record. At this point, we are seriously considering throwing both fridge and stove out and buy something else. It cant be worse, can it? What a waste of money.

I did a lot of research and went to different online appliance stores that sold or dealt with the brand. After reading and finding out a couple of things, I decided to go with that particular model. It was all the good reviews not only on the online website that sold numerous appliances but the people who also purchased an RV like us who have installed and used them too that was the deciding factor. The dishwasher is fabulous and very quiet. You never know its running. Its amazing and is absolutely a dream come true. I love it. Its the best appliance that we made a decision to have installed. After delivery and hook up, I found that once you put the clothes into the machine and started the washer, the lid locked until the end of the cycle. Now, I am unable to see what the washer is doing or how much it is filling. I am seeing a recurring theme about the drain pump failures. In my case, the drain pump has now failed 2 times on my GWL11US washer. The first one was leaking all over the floor. After purchasing the second, it was better but still, the floor would get wet under the washer. Not to mention, it took about a month to get a replacement (backorder). I purchased a plastic pan to place under the washer to keep this appliance from ruining my floor. The other day, the windings on the pump motor shorted out, stunk up the whole house and the motor control board just shut down in the middle of the wash.In my opinion, both of these F&P appliances are the poorest excuse for a washer/dryer I have ever seen. The plastic lid on the washer has cracked and the overlays for the operational buttons (keyboard) have many cracks around them also. Had the design engineers put some thought into the control board, they could have planned in some short circuit protection for the control module, so it could survive a shorted load of the pump motor. Or was it planned that way to make more money? This is the first and last F&P product I will ever buy.

Consumers be warned. Do not waste your money on Fisher Paykel products (DCS). Remodeled kitchen went with all Fisher Paykel products. Experienced product failure with the Dish Drawer and FP refused to replace the manufactured parts that were faulty saying the product was out of warranty. I pushed back stating if the failed items were due to misuse or normal wear and tear, I would agree but these were parts that failed due to poor manufacturing. Coated parts that broke down and rusted out. FP did not care. Then experienced problems with the motor on one of the dish drawer. Tech came out twice and the second time the unit worked worst when he left, telling us the noise level was normal. Normal? It didnt sound like that when he got there, and it didnt sound like that when we first installed it. Experienced problems with the double ovens. Used the self-cleaning function four times and the broiler coil burned out. The tech replaced the broiler coil and then told us not to use the self-cleaning function because the broil coils will burn out again. Told us to use an oven cleaner, which FP instruction manual says not to. Experienced problem with the cooktop. Followed the instructions for cleaning. Then the igniters stopped working, or when you turned on one, a different one would attempt to ignite. Tech came in told us not to follow the recommended cleaning process. Told us to use simple cleaner and soft sponge. Cooktop looks like crap now. Experienced problems with noisy microwave. Too disgusted to bother calling for repair. Do not waste your time or money. FP will not support you and will look for any reason or ways to get out of spending their money to make things right when you likely as I did, spent big bucks to purchase their product.

We had a double drawer dishwasher installed as part of our kitchen refurbishment last May. Within two months, the dishwasher would not drain. Contacted customer service - NOT - and after being on hold for a long time, I was finally told to contact a company called Millers Ltd. UK to arrange an engineer to come and fix the problem. This company sent out one of the rudest young men I have ever encountered and he left the dishwasher un-repaired, so we had to contact the kitchen company to make other arrangements, dishwasher fixed. In February 2015 the tines in the tray of the upper drawer broke. I went online to order a new tray and tines at a total cost of £73.40, I ordered what was in the photo on Fisher & Paykel website. The tray arrived without the tines. After several phone calls and mindless music, I finally managed to convince an assistant called Ula that if she checked her website, she would see what I thought I was ordering and therefore could she send me the tines. This she did and they all snapped while trying to fix them to the tray. We have since managed to do a DIY job on this tray. In March of this year, the upper drawer again would not drain, clean the dishes - so back onto Fisher Paykel and the awful music. Again given a number to contact to arrange an engineer to visit, told the assistant about our previous experience and asked that that company not be used again. A very helpful engineer arrived the next day and instantly knew the problem and replaced the rotor in the upper drawer, he had one on-hand as he had dealt with this problem several times. July, both drawers very noisy, not cleaning dishes and a red light and bleeping from the upper drawer. Contact Fisher & Paykel and again straight onto the awful music, finally get through to Hannah, who cannot find a contact number for my post code. Oops its my fault that she misheard my post code and was looking in the wrong area. I explain as best I can the problem and previous history, she tells me to contact the previous company I used in March. This I do to be informed that they no longer deal with Fisher & Paykel as their machines have multiple problems. Contact Fisher & Paykel and Hannah, again to be given a number which turns out to be Millers UK, a company I will never use or recommend. Try to contact Hannah again but am beaten by the awful music. Instead I am now getting an independent assessment of the machine and will be going back to the kitchen company that recommended the dishwasher and installed it, as to whether or not they will have to replace it with a better-quality machine.

I wanted to take the bins out of my freezer to clean them and get rid of some ice buildup and I can see no way to get them out. Theres no instructions in the users manual and customer service was unable to tell me how so they emailed me a video that was supposed to show me how to do it but the video was 6 years old and the freezer compartment didnt look anything like what I have now. Weve only had ours about a year-and-a-half and it is still under warranty. I emailed them back to let them know and they never responded to my email, and I even sent pictures of what mine looks like, so I called again and I was told that I would have to have a service rep come out to remove the bins and if he found there was no manufacturer defect they would charge me $95!!Yet they are not able to provide me with any instructions on how to do it myself!!! This refrigerator cost way too much have people answering the phone that cant help with something that should be a simple process... And maybe the bins dont come out at all but if they dont they should be able to at least tell me that instead of telling me they have to send out a service rep.

On August 10, 2012, I posted a review about my dissatisfaction with my dryer. At the time, I was awaiting my fifth service call to have the bearings replaced. By the way, my dryer is 5 1/2 years old. To give Fisher Paykel their due, the company agreed to pay more than half the cost of the repair since I had already spent over $200.00 on prior service calls and repairs. After waiting for the parts to arrive and arranging a time for the technician to return to do the work, my dryer was finally fixed last week. This past Sunday, I decided to do a few loads of laundry and lo and behold, my washer broke (also 5 1/2 years old). Its no fun trying to wring out sopping wet clothes and then finding a place to hang them. The technician left a few hours ago and my washer needs a new pump. I wonder how much thats going to cost. I spent too much money on poor quality products. Perhaps its time to go back to the old-fashioned scrub board and clothesline. When I spoke with Fisher and Paykels customer service representative about my dryer, she was very nice and sympathetic. But being told that bearings wear out like they do in a car was not a good analogy. My dryer certainly does not take the stress and use like my car does. If I had the energy, I would call the company again to verbally air my dissatisfaction with my washer, but another analogy like that would probably send me over the edge and the automated responses to the reviews are inane. Why doesnt the company contact me? They have my contact information. Fisher and Paykel strikes again!

I’ve had a Fisher & Paykel set since 1999. I don’t know about now but the dryer I have is actually made by GE (General Electric). As at that time they didn’t make dryers. I have never had a problem with the dryer. When I bought the set from an appliance dealer, they told me it was easy and inexpensive to work on the washer, and the dryer was a GE. I had to replace the control panel on the washer, around 10 years in as I think lightning hit it. It was plug and play. I put it on and the part was $80. I let one of those color Catcher sheets get into my pump, as I tried to save and cut one in half for a small load, that caused a problem. Had to get it removed by a repairman. I would never buy an appliance from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Actually only an appliance store that has service department. You may save a little, but you lose it quickly down the road. It seems odd that 7 people on here have complaints. Fisher & Payless is actually made in New Zealand. I haven’t needed to call in 10 years, but the last time I spoke to someone in New Zealand. I wanted a Maytag when I bought this set, but they are no longer in business. They were bought out by Whirlpool. Too many problems with their products. I try to buy top of the line.... My builder put GE Profile appliances in my house, and they have been fine since 1999. However I do take care of my things, and they take care of me. Something I was taught by my parents 50+ years ago....

FP washing machine is a piece of crap! Only had the machine for approximately 18 months when it started to leak water from the bottom. I tried to contact the company to complain but mysteriously, I was disconnected three times! My husband and I are trying to put two kids through college and honestly, we cant even afford to have a repairman come out to look at it when its $85.00 just for the service call. I am so angry and will never ever purchase a FP product again!

The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.

I had purchased a 6 burner range with DCS brand. The hinges have failed over the years so thought I would replace them. There are many places to buy the parts but thought I would go right to the source. I ordered parts and was assured delivery within 5-7 days. After 2-1/2 weeks I called them. They have no proof of the order. I sent them the confirmation that they sent me showing order number, price, and charged credit card. I sent that back to them and that was not enough proof. I had to go track down and submit proof from my credit card statement that I was in fact charged. I sent that to them and still have not heard anything back. I will give it one more day and then I will fight it with credit card company. I really rely on customer service especially when purchasing something as expensive as this range was. This will be the last time I ever order any appliance with a brand name affiliated with this group. Very disappointed customer!!

We bought a brand new Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer (they were extremely overpriced) and we have had nothing but trouble with them. The fins broke on the washer within the first year. In the last 6 months, we have spent about $300 on the dryer. We just put a new lint screen and heating elements in and it still is not drying. I cant afford to put any more money in these things and at this point, I cant afford a new set, but when I am able to purchase a new set, I guarantee that it wont be Fisher & Paykel!

The other day, my husband was doing laundry and part-way through the load, the washer started beeping and stopped working. He then called the customer support center and got the name of the Fisher Paykel dealer here in town to see how much it would cost to get it serviced. While he was on the phone with the customer support rep, he was told that based on the lights that were showing up it was an error code 346, but was not told what that meant. This morning we called to see what it would cost to have someone come out just to look at the washer and were told he would cost $75! I think that is a large fee, considering we live in the same town less than a mile away. Today, I was looking online and read that the warranty was usually around 2 years. Im sure our washer wasnt 2 years old, so I called the customer support number myself, after taking down the model number, to find out if the washer was still under warranty. The guy on the phone was not able to tell me if the washer was under warranty or not. He didnt even offer to take down the serial number to see when the washer was made, but told me to call the store we purchased it from to see if they still have a record of when the purchase was made. We purchased this washer from Sears and shortly after we bought it, they stopped selling this brand. What should we do if they do not have a copy of the receipt? I dont even think our bank records go back any further than a year online. I have searched to see if I could find the transaction, but have not been able to. I would hate to buy a new washer after only owning this one for less than 2 years, and really dont want to pay $75 just to have someone look at it and then pay for repairs on top of it.
