We bought a Fisher Paykel washer/dryer set in 2009 for our new house. The dryer model number is DE27CW1. We had a six year warranty and used one call for the washer. In 2019 the dryer would fail to dry clothes. We cleaned the vent pathway and lint buildup in the front of the unit, pressed reset and we were good to go until a load of towels didn’t dry and nothing after that. Removed the front panel, pressed reset again and my husband noted that the heating element was red hot even though the unit wasn’t drying. After receiving an incorrect part from Sears Direct we decided to be grateful we didn’t have a fire and purchased a Miele set. We have pictures of the red hot heating element. There is information on the web about a lawsuit by a family in Washington State who had a fire with their Fisher Paykel dryer. Why wasn’t the Fisher Paykel dryer recalled?

I surprised my wife with a brand-new Fisher Paykel double-drawer dishwasher because I got tired of cleaning and servicing her old one. They are not inexpensive. Within one month, the start button receded into the chassis. The service person found that the lighted collar around the start button was made of cheap plastic and had simply broken making the machine inoperable. I would think for the amount of money that durn machine cost, they could afford to at least make the plastic parts durable enough to last more than a month.

We bought a brand new house with brand new appliances. Since move in, our warming drawer and dishwasher have not worked properly. The dishwasher has always leaked and the warming drawer was actually midwifed AT THE FACTORY. It turned on high and wouldnt turn off. It melted its own thermostat and control knob and was a major fire hazard. We had to turn off the breaker. The parts have since been replaced. The dishwasher is a major leak problem. It is ruining our beautiful new floor. We have had 4 services on it and a replaced part and the bottom drawer still leaks. Despite the fact that it is under manufacturers warranty, the company wont replace it. Save yourself the pain and DO NOT PURCHASE from this company.

We have only had the washer and dryer set since July 2011. The Fisher & Paykel dryer is not producing heat to dry clothes. It will only air dry and that takes hours for just 1 load... so much for energy efficient. My warranty expired last month.

I have been meaning to write this review to ward people away from Fisher & Paykel ovens (we have a range with an oven underneath, gas). First, they are dangerous. If not blowing up your home is important to you, purchase any other oven. One built by your child may be safer. We had their own representatives into our house over 5 times during the first year of purchase. On one occasion they left a gas leak and then had to rush back to repair it. They would not purchase it back but worse, they wouldnt give us a new oven. The flame routinely goes out in the oven, so something will be baking and all of a sudden, it is not. This creates a new type of cooking anxiety I never imagined. Cant thank you enough F&P!I finally took the time to write this today as I turned off a burner on the range and though the knob was often, the flame continued. The fire was on for 20 minutes before my wife smelled the smoke coming from the pan. My name is Alan **, I am a real person, and happily alive, regardless of what F&P does, I live in New York City, you can easily find me online (they dont let you put your email address in). If I havent convinced you not to purchase this range, please find me and give me another opportunity (unless our oven has killed us). And yes, we are buying a new oven.

I purchased a washer and dryer set on 9/17/08 with some life insurance money that was left to me by my father. The sales person stated that there was a 2-year warranty. I figured that if anything happens to a $1700 set in two years, the company/item is not any good. Well, close to that time I never received anything about maybe purchasing an extended warranty (as Sears always calls). Now on 9/27/11, my washer began to not wash. A little water began leaking from the front of the washer (underneath). I didnt think much of it as I work 60 hours a week and did not have time to call. But now the motor control in the display area is fried. And the people that Fisher Paykel recommended charged me $80 to come out (mind you, they never stated that the service call was that much) and tell me that it was gonna cost me another $485 for a $950+ washer. I thought, Um, no thanks. So I pulled apart and all I need is that part. I cannot find it anywhere other than the Fisher Paykel website and it is a $182+ rip-off! I will not purchase another Fisher Paykel item even if they are discounted to $1.

I went to the appliance store called Melzen’s Appliance at Glastonbury and they informed me about Fisher & Paykel. Never heard of it before. It was one of the most expensive refrigerators I’ve ever bought in my life - it was $1600. I’m married for 35 years and I’ve had refrigerators before this. I was shocked at the price but had to buy it because of the size (it had to fit into a specific area). I also wanted a stainless and a refrigerator on top. It had so many of the things I wanted. It was delivered November of 2012.I love the F&P refrigerator except I do have an issue with it that I did go back to the appliance store to tell them that when I opened up the door, something came flying out of the refrigerator. I told them, “Look at this piece, what do I do.” The guy looked at it and said, “Oh that just goes underneath the door of the refrigerator, just glue it.” I said, “Glue it? You know this refrigerator is only 6 months old - really?” He goes, “Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with your refrigerator right?” I said, “Correct” “So well, just glue it. It’s fine. Because if I send out a repair man, that’s what they’re going to do and they’re gonna charge you.” So I still have the piece here and it doesn’t impede or impact what’s going on with the refrigerator. I haven’t glued it yet because I’m having a hard time thinking that I have to glue this on my new refrigerator.I like the performance. I’m satisfied, though I’m not happy that a piece flew out on me.

I had a service call due to excessive squeaking. The lint trap screen failed and was subsequently replaced. I also had the washer looked at, because the water was not filling. And drain tube was fixed. He said we would probably need to replace the bearings. My husband replaced the drum bearing, but the drum belt tension roller bearings are original and are probably the culprit of the continued squeak. Also, the dryer not drying very well. Due to economic restraints and cost of bearing and poor design that make service costly, we are looking at ditching the dryer. Based on the premium purchase price, the dryer is certainly not looking to provide the 15- to 20-year trouble-free service life expectancy; and we are highly dissatisfied with this product. My husband has been out of work (under-employed for the past 4, going on 5 years), so service calls are costly. It would be cheaper for us to park it on the curb and buy used reliable dryer than to provide service. Can you help us out? It sure would keep us F&P fans. I have seen you have provided repair for others free of charge. I would appreciate if you could offer the same treatment in our case. Thanks. I would prefer to settle this with your customer service manager, USA.

We were sold by Lowes a Fisher Paykel EcoSmart washer and matching dryer in June 2009. The washer broke down at least four times under warranty. Now out of warranty (didnt buy the extended) its broken again as I feared it would. The pump wont pump. We sold our old Maytag cheap. This set was very pretty and it was an energy saver. I cant afford to replace every three years and that would not be EcoSmart use of our resources!

Washer and dryer bought in 2005 from appliance store paid twice as much as I would have on any other unit because salesperson assured me they would last forever. He failed to tell me they would last forever as long as I didnt mind replacing pump and boards in washer every 8-12 months and bearings in dryer every 2 years, and thats without any use on dryer from April to September-October, as I hang everything on line in summer months. Somehow it seems strange that along with lots of other people its always something we did to cause the problem! Has anyone looked into or know if we have the grounds for a class action suit? I will check into it, unless someone already has. I cant believe I tried to submit this form and it failed because it wanted me to rate it using star method? Should be a negative star choice.

My washing machine beeped on Tuesday and I followed the directions in the users manual to try to correct the problem. In the meantime the control panel was burnt out because the drain pump was broken. I called the repairman and he came on the following Tuesday and did not have a drain pump to install because they had just used the last one. I am guessing that there have been a lot of problems with Fisher and Paykel drain pumps. If I would not have tried to correct the problem, I possibly would not have burnt out the control panel. It is costing me $352 to repair the machine. I had ordered a brand new one, the same as what I had and I could have had it delivered on New Years Eve. I slept on it and cancelled the order because I thought I would be saving $300. The repairman said that they have replaced many control panels but Fisher & Paykel have corrected the problem by adding a fuse that will not cause the control panel to burn out. I would have hoped this would have been a product recall and saved a lot of people time and money. I really like my Fisher and Paykel machine but I am disappointed with the product not being recalled if you knew it was faulty. I would hope that I could be reimbursed some of the cost for the repair. The repairman was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Before ordering, please check that the delivery company will be able to get the appliance in your kitchen. I ordered an American fridge freezer, but when it arrived they could not get it into my kitchen. The delivery boys were lovely and they said they could probably get it in, if the doors and drawer were removed, but they could not find a way to remove the drawer. I called Fisher and Paykel and they could not help either and suggested that I just took doorstep delivery and work the rest out for myself! Very disappointing, so to avoid disappointment yourselves, please check this out before you order. Incidentally, I live in a detached house with standard size openings.

We purchased a top load washer/dryer set in July 2009. By November 2010, the heating element in the dryer broker and the lint trap was clogged, meaning the dryer was not producing any heat to dry clothes. We had it serviced at that time, replacing the heating element and removing the lint trap to clean it, and now in January 2012, the link trap is clogged again. Also, almost immediately after purchase, the washing machine started leaking whenever a load was more than half full. Additionally, the washer began to (and still) stop wash cycles regularly because the load is not balanced. Sometimes, a wash cycle will stop up to 10 times before it finally runs through, taking almost a full day to wash one load of sheets/blankets. Also, in January 2012, we noticed that the top part of the plastic basket in the washer has begun to shred and tear. We are now weighing the choice of having a repair man out to fix it or not sink any more money into a machine were so unhappy with.We have been extremely disappointed with this set. We purchased this make and model when we built our new home because we wanted a modern, efficient washer/dryer. What we got was almost three years of headaches, service calls, and wasted water and electric.

My former neighbor had a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and when she no longer wanted to top load and we were moving, she offered it to me and it lasted maybe a year. It was not even a two-year old machine and we had to have parts replaced on it. When we moved in here, I bought the Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer because of its energy efficiency and I had multiple problems with that, to the point where it needed to be replaced and then after it was replaced, the service people had to come back in and they had to take off a piece of the top part that was rubbing on the dryer.I replaced my washing machine with a GE and that has been okay. The dryer seemed okay, but I dont trust it and the only way I got service was to call Fisher and Paykel themselves and speak with the representative there. Fisher and Paykel claimed that the representative that supported this area where I live was having family emergencies. Im also having an emergency when I had a lot of laundry to do that I dont have time to go out a Laundromat to do. I hold my breath, I wont leave the house when the dryer is running. I constantly go in and check it because Im just not certain. It took me seven months of dealing with the problem and then finally they agreed to replace the machine with a new one. Its fine, but I still have little hesitation about leaving it unattended. I dont have the money to replace it. When I do I will.

Fisher Paykel washer debacle - For the fourth time in seven years, the entire logic control board has gone out. I had a Kenmore washer from Sears for 25 years and never had a hitch. Whats wrong with these foreign engineers? They cant seem to figure out US power. Each time the board went out, we waited at least three months to get parts and repairs! What kind of service is that? Now that it is off warranty, I am throwing it in the dump with all the other Fisher Paykel land fill appliances. What a waste of money, time and energy this has been. I purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer in 2009. The washer has worked okay, except for two instances in which the pump wouldnt drain its water and investigation determined the pump had been obstructed by lint. The dryer is another issue altogether. The first problem came just over a year into owning this appliance. The bearing was deemed failed and it had to be replaced. The bearing is less than a year old and the dryer again sounds like bare metal grinding on bare metal. Now...the dryer had to be serviced for heating problems. Specifically, the dryer would run for hours without drying the clothes. It was determined that the lint sensor trips the heater to prevent fire...makes sense, but further investigation found that the fine mesh screen which serves as a filter has dry-rotted and failed, so lint quickly moves to the inside of the appliance and repeatedly triggers the safety mechanism.Question: Why should I have to take this unit apart every couple of days to clean it? The design is obviously flawed. Ive never done such a thing to the previous dryer I owned, nor have my parents...even when there were eight of us in the house. Sadly, I was given the entire song and dance about how wonderful these high priced, gilded turds would save me time and money. Nothing is further from the truth. While the appliance technician has been friendly and helpful (once I can get in touch with him), these appliances have been miserable to own. I share my house with four others and the laundry piles up quickly...not to mention the fact that the dryer is a fire waiting to happen. I had a Whirlpool standard dryer that was seven years old and I got rid of it when I bought these gems...it still worked. What was I thinking? Now the decision must be made...shell out a few hundred bucks for a poorly designed lint filter and service, or, look for an older standard dryer. Guess what...Goodbye Fisher Paykel! Note to others: Stay well clear of this high tech junk.

The other day, my husband was doing laundry and part-way through the load, the washer started beeping and stopped working. He then called the customer support center and got the name of the Fisher Paykel dealer here in town to see how much it would cost to get it serviced. While he was on the phone with the customer support rep, he was told that based on the lights that were showing up it was an error code 346, but was not told what that meant. This morning we called to see what it would cost to have someone come out just to look at the washer and were told he would cost $75! I think that is a large fee, considering we live in the same town less than a mile away. Today, I was looking online and read that the warranty was usually around 2 years. Im sure our washer wasnt 2 years old, so I called the customer support number myself, after taking down the model number, to find out if the washer was still under warranty. The guy on the phone was not able to tell me if the washer was under warranty or not. He didnt even offer to take down the serial number to see when the washer was made, but told me to call the store we purchased it from to see if they still have a record of when the purchase was made. We purchased this washer from Sears and shortly after we bought it, they stopped selling this brand. What should we do if they do not have a copy of the receipt? I dont even think our bank records go back any further than a year online. I have searched to see if I could find the transaction, but have not been able to. I would hate to buy a new washer after only owning this one for less than 2 years, and really dont want to pay $75 just to have someone look at it and then pay for repairs on top of it.

I have a bottom mount freezer drawer that cannot open but a few inches. Getting through to customer service has been fraught with games of long hold times, getting disconnected when I ask for a supervisor or info on my repair. As I am in the United States, there is no local customer service. All calls are routed to New Zealand. Emails are ignored. My call records get lost. Nothing on the record anymore. We have no log of your inquiry. Calls to their authorized local repair company go unanswered. A second local company warned me that it would a long time until it can get fixed because they too cannot get through to F&P or their techs or get a hold of the parts. Complete frustration. After reading only some of the reviews here, it seems to be a common complaint. Nice looking product but it means absolutely nothing if it cannot function. No company is perfect and I expect hiccups but the run-around here is incredible. My only recourse is to start recording my conversations with the false promises I am given along with posting a review video on social media showing the drawer problems. My hope is to discourage anyone from buying an F&P appliance as the service when needed (and it will be needed) is absolute garbage. It should not be this difficult to get adequate service.

I did a search online for high-end kitchen appliances and that’s where the Fisher & Paykel name popped up. I said I would go with that one at my end because it was in my price range. And my wife watches the cooking show and mentioned that Fisher/DCS was one of the good brands and so we purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator. The new refrigerator doesn’t keep things as cool as the old refrigerator does. The drinks and everything else was cold in the refrigerator, not just the freezer. I thought it was the problem of the refrigerator so I had to go to their place. It seems like it’s designed to keep things at around the 40-degree mark and not much colder - I never really had to pay attention to these details before. Maybe it’s the way the refrigerator operates and refrigeration is supposed to happen, how it’s supposed to work. Maybe I’m just used to a refrigerator that keeps everything too cold.

I chose this counter depth refrigerator RF175WDX1 as part of a kitchen remodel. After 3 months or so, all is good. It is quiet and looks good in the kitchen. I purposely chose this model without water & ice, but the one thing I would suggest is a separate, narrow shelf for ice trays.

I used to have a Fisher & Paykel and the reason I was purchasing something is I just remodeled a kitchen in a newer and different house than the one where I had the other one. I got the two-door dishwasher with the tall drawer. Its ugly. I didnt realize it wasnt the same in the front and they ruined the front completely. If I could have sent it back without paying a 25% up charge for returning it, I would have returned it. Im very disappointed. I have the recessed handle, it used to be all stainless steel, now theyve got some junky plastic in the front and thats terrible. I wanted the tall drawer but I assumed it was the same... it looks chintzy. Compared to the rest of my appliances, Im sorry I bought it. I bought it because its great for doing wine glasses although I find that the spot where the wine glasses go is just a slight bit narrower than what I used to have because Im having a little bit more trouble trying to get them into the slot. The dishwasher works just fine. Aesthetically, they ruined it. And I loved my other one. I just think that they didnt do a good job of remodeling it. It doesnt help the people that paid top dollar, I could have had a Bosch which is an equally competent dishwasher or any others and I chose this one because of the fact that I could do a smaller load so theres some wonderful things about it but the look upsets me.

The fridge (no ice or water) has been fine, in fact we bought another Fisher Paykel. But we bought the second one with a side handle. The handle on our first fridge kept breaking off. The technician said the magnets were too strong. You may want to check the pressure it takes to open the door because you can take out some magnets. It costs about $150-$170 Cdn to replace (parts and labour past warranty period). Here are the two old handles of our old fridge which is now in the basement. We are on our third handle and I open it by pulling on the top of the door.

The griddle on this range is a piece of junk. It does not heat over 250 degrees. I have contacted Fisher & Paykel numerous times about this problem. They referred us to a repair service. The serviceman does not even want to work on a DCS. They have adjusted the griddle numerous times and replaced the thermostat twice. It still does not get hot enough! Fisher & Paykel will not let you talk to their technician to explain how the griddle is working. We are unable to get a phone number where we can talk to someone who understands how the griddle is supposed to work. One of the service reps in New Zealand asked us to fax all the records we have kept on the problems with this range. The number he gave us would not go through. I think he did not want to give us a correct number. He would not even give us his last name so we could talk to him again! If they were an automotive manufacturer, after reading all the bad reviews, the government would have already put them out of business!

Tonight is the third time that my washer has stopped working. It does not drain now and will not power on. This washer has been nothing but trouble since purchased. I regret ever getting rid of my old washer. It was dependable. I think this is a sub-standard product and after reading the reviews here, I see that I am not the only person that feels this way. You should not have to have service on such a new product as often as you do on this. I am in good mind to just junk it and go buy a cheap regular washer that I can depend on. I am very frustrated and I am telling everyone that I know to stay away from this product. I have called customer service and left messages, but so far I have not had a return call. The customer service is horrible, too.

Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud.
Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud. It is less than 3 years old and so you would not think these sorts of things would happen. The oven began shutting itself off, during its use, for no apparent reason. Sometimes it would shut off within seconds, other times during a cycle and so there would not be any warning, I would just come around the corner and see the light flashing and know that it had shut itself off. F&P suggested I contact the nearest authorized service tech. I had to explain, to 3 different people, (even sent a map) that the person they were recommending was a 10 hour drive, with a 2 hour ferry ride.I finally found a local person who is willing to look at my range but only if he can obtain a service manual so he can look the product over first, before coming out. Fisher & Paykel say only authorized people can have a copy. This person is willing to fix my range and they wont let him. Now a new problem appeared today. I suddenly have 2 elements not operating. There is an error code coming up, on the 2 elements on the same side, even though I am only trying to turn 1 of them on. And, the kicker is, there is no such error code in their consumer manual that is displayed on my stovetop. I strongly recommend people stay away from Fisher & Paykel.

I love the fridge. We just bought it and I would have another one in a New York minute. But our fridge is having a problem and were hoping to get it fixed. The problem is that my crispers below are not meeting the thing on the top that closes them off. Weve gone to the people we bought it from. They came here to look at it, they forgot about it again, they came back again, now theyre coming tomorrow, hopefully to fix it. And I hope they can because I have lost a lot of veggies and stuff. Other than that this is an amazing fridge, the rest is great, its very, very quiet. I dont have to worry about hearing it. The ice cubes are pure and clean and nice. Its just great and it looks fantastic in my kitchen. It’s a counter sunk so it fits so well. It’s a good fridge.

I have owned my Fisher and Paykel Ecosmart Autowasher Model GWL15 since 2010. The first time, we had a problem with the spin cycle was August 2012 (past the 2 year warranty period). I paid $180 to have the pump replaced. The repairman said that this is a frequent problem with this brand of washers. Fast forward to today, April 6, 2014. The washer quit after the wash cycle again. I tried several times to reset it by unplugging it like the owners manual instructed, only to have NO results again. I had to take the clothes out and wring them out by hand. I then had to empty the washer by hand to prepare for the repairman to come AGAIN. I will never buy another Fisher and Paykel product, nor will I recommend Fisher and Paykel to anyone!! I have never had any appliance fail like this one has.

My F&P oven was new when I purchased my apartment in 2017. A year later, I experienced problems with the interior lights and the glass ceiling that protected the roasting elements. F&P directed me to their authorized repair company in South Florida, Appliance Service Group, Inc. of Pembroke Pines, FL. I paid them over $800 in advance on Feb. 1, 2019 (they told me that the warranty was for only 1 year, when it is 2 years but F&P finally agreed to honor the warranty after I contacted them). However, my oven still has not been fixed as of April 17, 2019 - a 2 1/2 month delay. ASG has told me several lies about the delay....a part is on backorder, the wrong part was ordered, the part had to come from NZ, etc. I have been promised on several occasions that it would be repaired within 5 to 7 business days. It hasnt and for over 2 1/2 months I have been without the use of my oven. F&P and its authorized service agents are not to be trusted.

I love this fridge, very sleek design, bought it for the quality and light stainless steel look. However, the original door had a dent in it and that is where it all started. It took 4 months for the service centre to replace it, only to be a different quality stainless, visibly darker shade/lower quality stainless (rough to the touch) than the original. Now I have a brand new kitchen with a horribly looking fridge. Almost a year later, I have to constantly follow up with FP customer service, who promised me a call back which never happens. This is how you ruin a perfectly great brand by horrible customer service.

Unfortunately after less than 1 month of operation our dryer quit and we called the repairman and he indicated it needed an update mod done on it. It was showing a 151 fault. We waited about 1.5 weeks for the part to arrive and now today he says that it is the motor and dont know how long it will take to get the part. I purchased three F&P appliances in 2005 (double drawer dishwasher, a washer and dryer). All three of them have been a total waste of money, for each one has had problems which make them irreparable and problematic. When I purchased the F&K washer and dryer my main concern was the fact that both units were controlled by the electronic board. The salesman replied that this should be one of the significant advantages due to the fact that if something went wrong with the washer or dryer they simply send out a replacement electronic board for about $75. All I would have to do is unplug the old one and plug in the new one. How far from the truth that was. They never mentioned that the only repair service company was one person in the entire Houston, Texas market that ended up knowing less about the product than me. And besides, they charge you $75-$85 just to come out and diagnose the problem. After doing so with the washer, they said that it was the electronic board and they would have to order. When the board came in they replaced it. It still did not work and they said the entire motor would have to be replaced at a cost that far exceeded purchasing a new washer. Needless to say, I was smart enough to send the new F&K packing to my backyard graveyard only to replace it with the very old Maytag washer which I had taken out just due to its poor visual appeal. Boy have I learned. I would much rather have a dingy, slightly dented beige workhorse of a washer as in my Maytag, which is older than me, than this new updated F&P laughing stock of an appliance. Let me say if I was the F&P Marketing Director and I saw comments as numerous and detailed as the ones I saw on this site, I would set out to make things right with these customers. Secondly, my F&P dryer just all of a sudden stopped heating. So I decided to look at this website prior to calling the no-use of a repair service that F&P has accredited with the worthiness to repair its appliances. Well, I only wish that I had found this website prior to my purchasing these F&P products. What worthless pieces of useless technology. I think the woman early put the entire frustration into place when she said her mother used an old tub and ringer system and at least at the end of the day she was relaxed. I have to agree wholeheartedly. I think I am going back to washing in a tub and ringer and then putting them out to dry on the line if this is the best consumers can expect. Now I know why my mom only purchases Kenmore. She said they were totally reliable and that Sears always stands behind their product. Since having to do my laundry there now for the last year due to my unsuccessful purchase, I think I have to finally give in to my mom that said, I told you so!The last appliance (and thank God someone talked me out of the refrigerator or I would be writing in about 4 instead of 3 appliances) is the double drawer dishwasher. Now, how a service repairman can tell me that the reason the top drawer tends to stop after 20 minutes of washing and start beeping like it is off balance is due to operator error I do not understand. On top of which he said it can be attributed to the dishwashing detergent selected. Now, I am a Cascade man and that is the only detergent I have ever used since learning early on during my college years that nothing works better. And thank God because when the dishwasher finally makes it through the washing cycle at least I know they will be sparkly! Not necessarily clean because this dishwasher has to be the worst at cleaning dishes. I installed a cheap GE Dishwasher in my butler’s pantry, which I now find myself hauling dishes from the Kitchen to the butler’s pantry to avoid using the F&P because the cheap GE washes faster, better and quicker than the F&P ever did or would ever be able to do in the future. It seems that after starting the dishwasher, which was installed in a newly renovated 100-year old historic house that is on pier and beam, it seems to stop and start beeping each time you walk into the kitchen during its cycle. It starts immediately and begins washing again after opening and shutting the drawer and hitting. I mean, I waste more time opening and closing the drawer to ensure that my dishes are clean than I would if I simply washed them by hand. So from my experiences, that is enough. Being taught from a young age that three strikes equal an out, F&K that was the last pitch and you are out!

I heard of Fisher & Paykel from Lowe’s. I chose them because of the look and the size. I went with the French drawer refrigerator. It’s 20 cubic foot. I was remodeling the kitchen. I’m enjoying it so far. My favorite feature is that everything is right there in front of me when I open it up. I have one critique that I wish they would do better. When you have to open both doors to access the vegetable tray or the meat tray, it would be nice if you can open either one or the other door, if the drawers have been cut in half and you can open one door and take one half the tray.

Well, our washing machine stopped working the other day. It would fill up with water, try to swish back and forth, but seemed very slow and almost stuck. By the time I got home, the water smelled funny from the wash. I tried to cycle it to the rinse and spin cycle to get the smelly water out at least, with no avail. I unplugged it, hoping it would reset. It would then start the wash cycle again, and it would chug a little then just hum, then stop and make an alarm - beeeeeep, beeep (like a fire alarm). So I emptied out the yucky water, and took out the clothes hoping maybe something was catching in it and it would start again. Chugged a little faster, but still stopped and wouldnt spin or drain. Emptied water again.Ok, Im tempted to take it apart but realized maybe it would void the warranty, so decided to google it and it directed me to this site. Boy was I in for a surprise. Based on the comments and reviews, I immediately thought of getting a new machine that was not Fisher Paykel. These units were bought for us in a new home in 2008 from the contractor, so I wasnt sure if my warranty was still good or not. To my surprise, I called the toll free number on this site, and immediately got a representative that deals directly with problems. No wait time. Lisa was very informative, patient, and understanding of the issue. We went through the flow sheet together to try and diagnose the issue. Still no resolution. She offered to send out a Fisher tech at a rate of $85.00 for the consultation and whatever time it would take them to fix it. She guessed maybe only 30 minutes.Lisa offered to supply the parts free of charge, although I might have been out of warranty. Parts could have ranged up to $350. I weighed out the cost versus buying a new unit, and I realize I still would be coming out ahead with the tech. Plus he would be there the next day. Tech showed up early at 9:30am and diagnosed that mattress pad material that we laundered and got stuck in the motor mechanism. Replace motor mechanism as a precaution but would have worked otherwise. Funny thing, I almost suspected that because after I removed the dirty stinky water, it smelled liked something was burnt due to being stuck. But once again, Im just a doctor and no handyman at all, but I still try to do things myself when I can. I always research first, then do.My experience with the company is 4.5 out of 5 stars. Lisa gets 5 stars, the 0.5 stars less was because the tech was there for only 10 minutes top and charged us $65 still? So I wasnt sure about that, but I wasnt home, and my wife didnt know what to expect. I would have challenged his rate, to see if he prorates it or not, but maybe they bill by the hour regardless. I wished he changed my control panel and water pump as a precaution because this seemed to be a known problem, but I wasnt there to ask him. Why? Because if that fails soon, then I will have to pay the service call again along with his time. I hope this doesnt happen, because I might not be so understanding after that. So my bills $150.00. Im very satisfied with how this went down. My machine works, but Im still cautiously optimistic about the longevity of this product. However, I do feel Fisher and Lisa will take care of me if future problems arise. Thanks Lisa, and good luck everyone!

I bought a set of Fisher Paykel washer and dryer in 2009. The washer broke down repeatedly and the dryer close to the same. Their service repair contractors are the worst ever. The parts have to come from overseas (New Zealand) and are far from cheap. The cost of the set was $1500.00 plus. I purchased a FP washer & dryer in 2008 with good recommendations. What a disappointment! Noisy, noisy, noisy. Im embarrassed when we have company and they ask, Whats that noise? I am embarrassed to say its brand name. This is supposed to be a good washer and dryer. The washer is off balance with every load of sheets I wash and plenty of other loads. What an inconvenience to constantly try to re-balance the loads. Also, the design of the dispensers is awful. I have to take them apart and clean them because disgusting black stuff is lurking under the covers. The dryer takes so long to dry. The lint bucket is emptied after each load but about monthly, my husband has to take the lint filter assembly apart to clean the internal parts or the sensor gets covered and the dryer works even longer.Ive been using automatic washers and dryers for 42 years and have never been more dissatisfied. I will never recommend FP to anyone, in fact, my recommendation for an FP product would be to stay away!

So then I went out to an appliance store looking for a new washer and dryer and found out about Fisher & Paykel. I had good recommendation from the owner who told me that’s what he had at his house so I chose to buy this brand and I’ve been very satisfied with my first F&P washer and dryer. Really, there are some things that are much better than the previous ones we’ve owned - I think that they spin water out more and the clothes are dryer when you take them out of the washer to put them in the dryer. Our F&P refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation and when we got home, we called the F&P dealer. They told us it was 2 months out of warranty and we should call any repair service we choose to fix it. Our repairman told us the motherboard had burned out (you could see the soot) from a power surge which could have been prevented by a surge protector. Cost to repair is $448. No one at the appliance store told us we should have a surge protector. There is no information on the refrigerator or on the power cord to recommend one. The installers just plugged it in and that was that. I hold F&P responsible for not letting us know about the need for a surge protector. To make matters worse, the motherboard for our refrigerator is back ordered. We will be without a refrigerator for two or three weeks until it comes in. That seems an unconscionably long time to wait without a refrigerator. Evidently F&P has problems managing their parts inventory and about servicing their customers. After this I called F&P in New Zealand on the advice of the repairman. He thought they might pay for a new mother board. Turns out I should have called an F&P authorized repairman first. No one at the F&P dealer told me that. I had already paid for our repairmans first visit and he took the motherboard with him to see if he could get a temporary fix (he couldnt). So I asked for the phone number of the local F&P authorized dealer so I could explain what had happened. I was told that they wouldnt give me his phone number because of privacy issues. I cant make any sense of that: a refrigerator repairman who wont give out his phone number? What kind of repairman is that? Our cat got sick and will require refrigerated meds for 10 days. Thats a hassle without a refrigerator. But the person I talked to at F&P never acknowledged that the breakdown of their almost new F&P product was making my life difficult or expressed any empathy or sympathy at all. It was like talking to an attorney, not a customer care rep. Maybe thats the way they treat customers in New Zealand, but it sure doesnt go over very well over here.

I purchased a Dish Drawer dishwasher for a kitchen remodel in 2008. I was lured by the fact there are two (2) independent washer units; one on top of the other which allowed flexibility in cleaning as well as potential addition kitchen utensil storage. Troubles began within the first 90-days. I have summoned kitchen appliance repair companies listed as authorized by Fisher Paykel numerous times with the last service attendant indicating there are serious design flaws with the appliance. At this date the following had been experienced: The bottom dishwasher unit is completely non-functional, the touch wash controls in the operating unit do not work correctly; and now are stuck in one washer cycle. I was informed by one of the techs that came out there is a design flaw that allows water to seep into the controls. For $1,500 for a dishwasher I would have expected more. What is more alarming is the sales rep when I bought the appliance indicated the manufacturer also made kidney dialysis machines. If this is the case (and my research indicates this is true) there are numerous fatalities if the quality of the dialysis machines is the same as the Dish Drawer. Do not under any circumstances purchase anything this Company makes. The quality is terrible!!!

You should have minus stars for F & P.8-month old fridge stopped cooling. Called F & P warranty repair, they sent Integrity Appliance. first call to F & P was 6/26/11, over the next 5 weeks they sent Integrity (usually with a long wait between to repair Fan motor control, then main contorl, then temp sensor, then PC fan. Never worked, although repairman declared it fixed. I requested replacement (5 weeks without a cold fridge in summer) and they made noises each time, but still decided on repair. They also said that since I bought from an open box store, they consider it refurb and would only replace with a refurb (watch out for Weiler Group, too- they dont disclose this at time of purchase). I was promised a call from a supervisor Monday 8/1 regarding replacement, but no one called. When I called today they said that theyve been in touch with Integrity and the repair company has ordered the part and is trying to schedule another repair. Integrity left last Fri after replacing the PC fan and again declared it fixed, although it was melting what little I had in the freezer - liquid popsicles and ice cream, soggy frozen peas. So how Integrity knew to order a part tfor something that was fixed... I also submitted my list of lost food (partial, actually, I got tired of making the list and going to the store to check prices) over $200 worth. I was told by F & P to submit a list with prices, since I didnt have photos - when I came home to fing everything spoiled I didnt think of photos I thought of getting the rotten smell out of the house. As to foday theyre going to investigate my claim - so now they seem to be renegging on that too.Since I was 99.999% sure they wouldnt replace the fridge, I spent more of my own money and bought a Kenmore over the weekend - I need a working fridge, and I have no faith in F & P, a company I found to be unethical and dishonorable. This dishwasher comes as two, drawer-sized units. We are empty nesters, and two small units are much more convenient than one large one. This is the second FP we have had. I was contacted by a Fisher & Paykel customer service representative who read my complaint. She explained to me that all I needed was a copy of my receipt and she would see what could be done to take care of my problem. I knew I purchased my dryer at Lowe’s so I thought that I would be able to call them to get a copy. Well, that didnt work out quite like I thought. Lowe’s on the back end couldnt find my receipt so I thought I was out of luck. The Fisher & Paykel representative said not to worry, just give me the make and model number and we would go about this a different way. So I did. Fisher & Paykel set up an appointment with a service tech who got the part I needed and came out and installed it. My dryer is now working and my wife is happy. Now that my wife is happy, Im happy. Thanks, Fisher & Paykel, for standing behind your product. To all those who are complaining: it’s not what happens that matters, it’s how the company responds to the problem!

We purchased a full set of 4 appliances along with extended warranties for a kitchen renovation in 2016. After 5 years, when warranties had expired, only the refrigerator remains in good working order and we love it. The dishwasher never did a very good cleaning job and we had it serviced. (Do NOT purchase the 2 drawer model!) The microwave oven stopped without any warning because the main PCB and line conditioner needed replacement. The interlock assembly on the door also had a fair amount of play in it. Then the induction range slowed down to only 2 working elements until the inverter board completely stopped rendering the cooktop completely unusable. The replacement piece cost was $1800 pre-tax and installation with a 30 DAY warranty! The oven cavity has turned off during use a couple of times which I consider a warning. Fisher and Paykel was unresponsive to communication so I will never purchase or recommend their product in the future.

The Fisher Paykel refrigerator model E522B is made with junk plastic parts
The Fisher Paykel refrigerator model E522B is made with junk plastic parts that continue to break, and we are not rough on our appliances, as we are senior citizens, and previously owned a Frigidaire refrigerator, that lasted us over 25 years without one repair. However, in one year this Fisher Paykel refrigerator has had the following parts replaced: the rear caster wheels (broken on delivery), the plastic cover on the freezer door (broken when replacing the stripped freezer door handle), the plastic door closer under the door hinge has broken twice now, and a foam insulation kit was installed to help reduce the popping noises from the compressor. F&P customer service takes its good old time in responding to online inquiries about their products, and makes you jump through hoops, before they respond. They dont believe you, even after you register the product online with them, and inform them of how many times the unit was serviced as they still ask for proof (now want photos and receipts), when something breaks. Dont they have a computer system that logs the reimbursements they have made to service repair companies on their products? This will be our last purchase of New Zealand made junk as they seem to have no pride with craftsmanship!

Our very expensive F&P washer and dryer set, has had serious problems for the last few years. Washing machine cant run a cycle without stopping over and over again and having to reset it. Dryer periodically has to be unplugged just to turn on and it is also making weird squealing sounds and sounding erratic when running. Just to name a few problems. I have tried and tried to contact the company to find someone who can come out to look at, and possibly repair, the machines. But, the company doesnt even reply to my attempts to get in touch with them. Nothing, no reply, no help, no follow up, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. It is pretty ridiculous to have machines that were in the highest price bracket, start failing after only about 5 years. And it is even more ridiculous for a company to not even reply to its customers when they reach out for assistance. Very disappointed.

I bought a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer based on the sales pitch that loads very seldom get off balance and that clothes spin almost dry. From the start at least one out of every 4 loads would get off balance. I had a repair man service my washer numerous times while it was under warranty. At one point the rocker arms were broke and had to be replaced and caused from the loads getting off balance. The last repair visit the service man said he would have to order parts and would be back to install them. He hasn’t been back and that was months ago. My washer still gets loads off balance and now it won’t complete the rinse cycle. But now my warranty has expired so I’m stuck with an expensive washing machine that doesn’t work. I will never buy another Fisher Paykel product nor will I ever buy anything from the store where I purchased them. I’m stuck with an appliance that doesn’t work and the warranty is now expired.

We bought a slightly used machine and for 2 weeks, things were fine. Then during the wash, the machine would stop with an error code indicating a problem with a motor sensor. Then after a month or so, the machine would not run - just the same error soon after the washer was started. There was no repair service that I could identify in our area. Anyway, after numerous attempts to run the machine, I let it sit for about 2 weeks unplugged. Then I tried it again, and it works like a champ now. The washer has completed 7 loads with no errors. This is an excellent machine when it works. And if it continues to do so, I would certainly recommend it to anyone who could afford the purchase price.

This is the third refrigerator weve had in about two months. We had to get rid of two KitchenAids that were totally defective. We picked Fisher Paykel, and love it - the design, the ice maker, the water through the door. The only thing is, depending on the glasses that we use for the water, sometimes it piddles a little bit down the refrigerator. But I like the inside. I like the freezer. My mother had a F&P dishwasher and she loved it very much. Then I had a F&P refrigerator. So when I moved in to my new house that I bought, I decided to go with the Fisher & Paykel again because I really loved that refrigerator. I got the newer model basically the same as the one I had in my apartment.First of all, it’s stainless steel. It’s hard if you have a small kitchen but this one fits perfectly. I love the bottom freezer drawer, and the front of it is so sleek and shiny, very simple. There’s only one thing - it didn’t have the egg carton thing like the little egg rack. And I didn’t want an ice maker so I’m so glad it came without the ice maker. This was the only one that fits the bill. It’s really hard to find nice, counter-depth refrigerator that aren’t humongously wide so it’s absolutely perfect! I love looking at it. I am in love with my refrigerator.

We have experienced unacceptable service delays in getting a repair to our 2.5 year old F&P Washer (Ecosmart). It seemed to work well and does a good job drying out the clothes. We have a Sears maintenance/extended warranty so we had preventive maintenance performed less about 8 or 10 months ago. In mid-November 2011, the washer made an odd noise and refused to spin. We called for service and could only get an appointment for three weeks later (12/6/2011). It was a great inconvenience, especially over the Thanksgiving holiday with family coming to our house. My wife was not happy and had to go to the Laundromat several times. At the 12/6 service appointment, the technician said that it needed two parts (including a circuit board). But he had to order them and they would not arrive for a week. So, the follow-up appointment was set for 12/15/11. My wife was extremely disappointed and expected the washer to be fixed on the 15th. At the appointment on the15th, the technician installed the parts, turned it on, and the circuit board burned out. Now my wife is absolutely livid as it will be another week or more before the circuit board and a new drain pump arrives. She is convinced that repair will fail as well as the tech does not seem to know what he is doing. She demanded that Sears provide her with a rental machine (they will reimburse, but we have to pay up front). She has also announced that she wants a new washing machine when this one breaks again and it wont be an F&P.

This is the second set of washer and dryer we have owned. Our daughter has the first set, and after 15 years, it is still working great. Due to a re-location, we purchased a new washer and dryer. The washer works fine. The dryer, on the other hand, is not working out. We had the repairman come out due to the fact that the dryer overheated. It had to be taken apart and all the lint had to cleaned up. As per the repairman, it is a design flaw. This has to happen every third week; the lint builds up so fast so I empty the lint holder every time I finish drying a load. We have had our dryer vent cleaned from the outside, and just to be sure, we cleaned it from the inside also. We are not happy with this dryer. My husband said we should just get a cheap dryer somewhere. I had so much confidence in Fisher Paykel that’s why we bought this second set.

It was ridiculous. This one just seems to have a lot more room because the water and stuff are not bulky in the door unlike other refrigerators. The Fisher appliances are nice, with clean lines. Ive had Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart Washing Machine Model Number WL26CW1 for approximately 7 years now and there has been big trouble. After the 2 year warranty expired it started to have problems. I contacted F&P and a repairman came out within a couple days. He determined that the washer needed a new circuit board (brain) which he would have to order. It took about 6 weeks to get the new brain and have it installed at a cost of almost $250 US.One and a half years after the new brain was installed the machine developed a new problem with the LCD display which is located on the circuit board (brain). Sometimes the LCD display cannot be viewed, nothing shows up in the window. Other times it works fine or it will show the wash selections in a faint image to which I can make a selection. The times that the wash selections are not visible I just count off the selections until I reach the one that I want (yes, Ive memorized them) and the washer will engage and work. However, at the end of any wash cycle instead of stopping the selected wash cycle starts all over and will continue to run over and over and over until I intervene and turn the machine off. Ive been doing this now for almost 4 years. I refuse to pay another $250 US plus to buy another new brain (circuit board) and dont want to buy a new washing machine until this F&P money drain totally craps out.

My Fisher & Paykel Washer failed to pump out water or complete a spin cycle. The technician from the store that we bought it from, determined that the pump was not operating and needed to be replaced. This company no longer carries Fisher& Paykel products mainly because it continues to change replacement parts, and have poor support in receiving parts. He did contact the Service Dept. for F&K and was able to find the part number needed for the pump. My wife had to contact them to order and pay for the part. After receiving the shippings tracking number and date of delivery, it became a waiting game. When the package did not arrive on the expected date, my wife contacted the customer service personnel and initially was informed that they could not find the order; then determined that the order did not ship because an additional part was required for the pump. As luck would have it, this part was not in California but was located somewhere in Kentucky.By and large, someone took it upon himself to cancel the order, but failed to inform us of the situation. My wife now had to get the correct information, order the part, trust the so-called experts to credit our charge account, and play the waiting game. Mind you, 2 weeks has lapsed since this process began. When the much awaited part arrived, we had to wait another 4 days for the service tech to install it. Today when I arrived home from work, I found my wife in tears and on the verge of a mental breakdown. The part was installed and when the tech ran a cycle through the machine with a load of clothes in it, it failed to pump the water out again. To make a long story short, when he talked to a tech at F&P, he was informed that a change made to their parts required that the motherboard also needs to be replaced at the time a new part was installed. Now we are talking an additional $190 for the part and $25 for shipping and handling. The total cost with parts already received was $357. NFW are we going to continue to pump money in to this money pit. To fix this problem, we have ordered a new washing machine but it is not an F&K product.Never again will we waste good money on any product by F&P. Not only will we no longer support the products of this company, we will seek out every opportunity to express our dissatisfaction and terrible experience to anyone that will listen. This is the worst buying and service after the sale experience that we have ever encountered. I can only hope that F&Ps competition will eventually drive them out of business.

The oven malfunctioned 2 months after purchase. We cook almost every day but use the oven less during the summer and had been out of town much of July so it was only used a few times before the malfunction. After 2 months, multiple service visits and calls to Fisher & Paykel, the unit was replaced under warranty. My impression is that it took considerable effort by myself, the warranty service provider, and the store I purchased the unit from to make any progress. (I never did hear from the rep who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hour following calls to Fisher & Paykel). The two malfunctions came on days we were hosting dinner guests (naturally) and we are worried about it working for a family gathering at Thanksgiving.

We have the 30-inch double oven and the double dish drawer. We installed both of them at the same time about 6 years ago. We have had a repairman at our home a minimum of 5 times each year for both products. I really am not exaggerating. In the beginning, the work was covered by warranty. For several years, we have been paying out of pocket. Each visit has cost between $100 and $500. We have waited for parts for over four months (seriously, no oven during that entire time). FPs response when I called directly was Madam, other people have had to wait much longer than that. You have to wait your turn for the part. Im not kidding. Its the worst customer service I have ever seen. And alas, our oven is not working again. The repairman is coming again on Monday. Well pay him $75 (again) to look at it.If the required parts cost more than $200 (which they almost always do), then I think we are throwing it in the trash. At the price we paid for the oven, it should have worked perfectly - at least for a few years. Our dish drawer was last fixed about 3 months ago. We havent had any issues since then, which is remarkable for that product, a full 3 months with a functioning dishwasher! I really hope others read my review and avoid Fisher Paykel products. I rarely write reviews, but these are the worst purchases that I have ever made. The products perform wonderfully when they work, but unfortunately, they rarely work. By the way, we are not abusers of the appliances. All of our other appliances (made by other companies) have performed without any issues. Oh, and yes, I have called FP directly many times over the years. Our repair companies have also called as they were appalled at the repeated issues with the products. FP did not stand behind their product at all. Im very disappointed.

This is a turn-around story led by Customer Service Hero named Lisette ** at the Fisher Paykel Office in the USA. After hearing about the experience we went through with Rob who refused to let me speak with his superior and then in spite of my insistence to be escalated went on to tell us that his supervisor/manager doesnt answer return calls. Lisette took all of the details of the situation and undertook to get back to me within 30 minutes with a plan of action. When she called back 20 minutes later, she informed me that she had reached out to the Canadian Service Manager, sent him and e-mail and copied me on it as well. She provided his name and contact information including his cell phone number. Within a few hours, I had received a call from Freddy who informed me that he was arranging for a local service person to perform a service call and that I should hear from him within a day. In the meantime, Freddy and Lisette arranged for spare parts to be flown to the local service company, so that the problem could be resolved on the first visit. To make a long story short, the problem was resolved by very professional local service people from Murphys Appliance Repair in Dartmouth, NS. They received technical guidance and support from Freddy over the phone during their visit - and our problem was resolved beyond our expectations. The leadership clearly came from Lisette and she deserves the recognition and a Customer Service Hero Award for doing so. Kudos to her superiors for supporting her initiative! In the face of a horrific situation, she mobilized her local, national, international team and their partners to rescue a loyal Fisher Paykel Customer, stranded without local service on very high end appliances. For all of this, we are very grateful and share our thanks with Lisette, Freddy, Trevor (and Trevors nephew) and whomever else was part of this chain of support.

I would not recommend anyone to buy your products, because I have been very disappointed with your products. I still say that I have a lemon and that I should have been given another one in the beginning. That is what happens when you buy a lemon automobile. Appliances cost too much these days to have to keep having them repaired, because the average person nowadays have been cut back in their pay checks and are not able to afford repair bills.

I purchased an FP washing machine in 2008. I was assured of the quality and low maintenance of this washer. Fortunately, I had the factory warranty and then the extended warranty and I have needed every bit of it. This washer is simply a piece of metal junk. I am so angry and dissatisfied with how FP, Lowes and A&E repair has dealt with this. I had it repaired at least 6 times under the FP warranty and when it was broken it was down for weeks. Parts took forever. Then on to Lowes and A&E. I have had nothing but trouble with the washer. Lowes will not replace my machine and FP refuses to do anything. I just had it repaired in April and it was out of service for a month then. Now it’s leaking water underneath - clearly the bearings are going out and again Im going to be without a washer. This is absolute garbage. Do not buy FP washers - not to mention that now the leaking washing has destroyed my Pergo kitchen floor. I’m very angry.

I bought a house in the southern part of Virginia and it had old appliances in it and the dishwasher failed. I went to a store that sold all the brands and we were taken by the drawer configuration. We thought that would work well on our kitchen and it has done. I like the fact that I can load pots and pans in the lower drawer and other stuff in the upper drawer and do them all at once. And its just the easier loading feature. I think its a wonderful machine. It washes dishes very well and I have only a few complaints. Its a little awkward getting used to the fact that theres only water coming from below, theres no upper wand so you have to be clever about how you put things in it. And the plastic piece which you grab to open it, both the upper and lower ones have cracked, so theyre just not strong enough for the load that they have to put up with. Daily opening and closing. But outside of that, its been wonderful.

After delivery and hook up, I found that once you put the clothes into the machine and started the washer, the lid locked until the end of the cycle. I am not able to open the lid without turning off the wash cycle. In the old machine, the lid locked when the spin cycle was on. Now, I am unable to see what the washer is doing or how much it is filling. I called the customer care department to find out what could be done to override this feature during the fill and rinse cycle and an answer from a supervisor, named Bernice, is that I should wash by hand if I am so concerned about how my clothes are being washed. In the past, I have found this company to be difficult when trying to purchase parts; but this goes way beyond attitude. If you want control over your wash do not buy a F&P washer. Once you start the machine, its out of your hands. This is not a consumer friendly machine

Happy to own such a quiet dishwasher! The idea of two drawers is great for choosing using just one and doing a quick load or using both drawers to do a larger load. Finding it difficult to load small bowls with the layout of rack but overall give it an excellent rating.

One feature is that I can choose a fast wash or a full water wash and that I can choose a soak or not to soak. I can wash and rinse in all hot or warm or cold. Also, the was is in an open drum with no center agitator. It's less hard on clothes.

I have a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer that’s a little over 3 years old. The washing machine agitator broke, and it wouldnt drain water. Now it is fixed, but it doesnt even really clean the clothes and doesnt spin the water out like advertised. The dryer is junk. We have had a certified Fisher Paykel repair man try to fix it twice. It took a while for the part to come in, and then it didnt fix the problem. I just recently replaced the bearing assembly, and it still sounds like the dryer is going to literally take off through the ceiling. I have contacted customer service, only to have the wrong part sent to me. When I called to let them know they sent the wrong part, I was told that the part I needed would cost me an additional $50 dollars. I cant express how upset I am that I paid the money for this set when the washer and dryer were under warranty; it probably should have just been replaced. The customer service always had some crazy solution or excuse! I will never recommend this brand to anyone. I would rather hand wash and dry my clothes than to have to listen to the loud, ridiculous noises that come from the washer and dryer. I dont understand how a company can sell something and not even bother to warranty or care about their product or their customers! Company failure!

Buyer beware. What a lemon. Or do they sell orchards full of lemons? I have had nothing but trouble from my Fisher Paykel fridge. No help from customer care. An automated machine would be more sympathetic. In July 2010, fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes to crimp brackets. Cost is $121. In February 2011. The fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes. Fan wire had separated and detached due to ice building up. Cost is $125. In November 2011, the fridge overheated. The technician came and the fridge was sent away for two weeks. I had new refrigeration unit put in and only three months later, in February 2012, the fridge overheated. The technician came and replaced fan. Cost is $125. I did ask for a different technician and was told I had to wait three weeks. How can anyone go without a fridge for three weeks? Please do yourself a favor, dont buy Fisher Paykel.
