I never post. DON’T BUY A Fisher & Paykel FREEZER! Way too expensive for the freezer to produce 8 ice cubes per 45 minutes. I can’t imagine this product is still on the market. Had service rep out and our ice maker is fine! This freezer is awful. I’d never buy this brand again.

We bought a fridge and a gas stove in October 2015. It is a nightmare. The stove does not have a warm temperature, so even at the lowest, everything burns. No clock on the stove to know if the stove has reached the good temperature, or no button either to program cooking time. Nothing, zero, and everything burns. The fridge? Each time you open the freezer door, it makes an awful noise with the plastic roulettes. The service guy said, The noise will go away in time... In time of what??? Very bad service also. PLEASE, DONT BUY FISHER PAYKEL. Waste of money and quality.

I purchased a top loading dryer in 11/07. Within 4 months, the dryer needed a new heating element. In Sept.of 08, the module had to be replaced. Then, it was serviced again March of 2011. Now the heating element and module have to be replaced. The dryer has been a total lemon. I want a new dryer and Fisher and Paykel is balking because the dryer is four years old.

We were sold by Lowes a Fisher Paykel EcoSmart washer and matching dryer in June 2009. The washer broke down at least four times under warranty. Now out of warranty (didnt buy the extended) its broken again as I feared it would. The pump wont pump. We sold our old Maytag cheap. This set was very pretty and it was an energy saver. I cant afford to replace every three years and that would not be EcoSmart use of our resources!

18 YO oven has a broken door hinge, which we had repaired almost five years ago. It is broken again. Part is now discontinued. Oven was several thousand dollars. F&P includes being sustainably minded in its brand vision. Their online chat was full for days, through Messenger they have said oven has served good time. I agree its an older appliance, but their response was a giant turn-off. The first appliance repair person said the hinge is a known problem. Discontinuing production of a part thats a known problem is not being sustainably-minded.

I purchased a washer and dryer from Lowes. Within a year both needed service, under warranty. The following year both again needed service, the motor in the washer and the board on the dryer. $600 in repairs. Neither under warranty. I spoke with F&P and they wouldnt assist on the repair. On year three, the dryer went out again. I spoke to F&P and they told me to get a repair estimate and they would aid in the repair. The repairman, the only F&P rep in town, told me the units were junk even though they were on their high end. I called back to F&P with the estimate, $250 + $80 diagnostics, and was told, you have lemons. That is the nature of the world we live in. Too bad. I trashed the 3 year old units and replaced with something else. Avoid this company. The units are flimsy to say the least.

Before ordering, please check that the delivery company will be able to get the appliance in your kitchen. I ordered an American fridge freezer, but when it arrived they could not get it into my kitchen. The delivery boys were lovely and they said they could probably get it in, if the doors and drawer were removed, but they could not find a way to remove the drawer. I called Fisher and Paykel and they could not help either and suggested that I just took doorstep delivery and work the rest out for myself! Very disappointing, so to avoid disappointment yourselves, please check this out before you order. Incidentally, I live in a detached house with standard size openings.

Generally, GWL 10 US is a decent washer from 2002. But I have had previous service issue after five years with diverter valve and a separated lid that was replaced. Now at 10 years old, spin cycle will not always engage and a foul smell of burning rubber is present. They will probably have this issue fixed, but I will not purchase Fisher Paykel again.

On 10-3-09 we purchased the FP HE model #WL37126KW2, serial #NYU790706. In October 2012 we noticed dark dirty streaks on our clothes. Some clothing never did come clean. Dark clothes appear to have white streaks like large amounts of soap havent been removed. Ive tried different detergents and numerous cleaning cycles. Thank the dear Lord we purchased the extended warranty! Since October 2012 weve had 7 repairmen and 3 parts replaced. The last repair was on Wednesday, 4-17-13. The 2nd load of clothing came out exactly like it did the very first time in October. Are you kidding me!Now another repairman on 4-26-13 and then Im assuming another part. I have no idea what part hasnt been replaced! After 4 new replacement parts and still having the problems, we will get a gift certificate from Lowes for a replacement. You can bet it wont be FP! Ive spoken to FP directly, Lowes and the warranty company numerous times. I am totally fed up with this whole situation. I will never buy another FP. No good reviews will come from my mouth for FP!

Im a kitchen and bath designer so I know about Fisher & Paykel. We have them in the showroom at the last place I worked, and I inherited that when I bought the display, when we downsized after the crash, and I just replaced it. I put it in my sister and brother-in-laws house, and they love it. Its a great appliance for Californians and retired people who are you know downsizing their homes, as their kids go off to school. Its also great for young couples with kids because they can do one load. The dishwasher is great because of the two drawers. Besides, its a New Zealand product.

I wanted the tri-folder, the French door refrigerator, and when I found out that a full-sized one would not fit in my house, I started looking for the counter-depth one and I happened upon the Fisher&Paykel. I like to shop through Lowes because of their stuff and I found out Lowes sold them and serviced them. But they really should have one on display so people can see them and see what they look like. Because you really have to see it to appreciate it. So I contacted a Fisher&Paykel place out in California and asked them some questions and I told them I wanted to see one first. They sent me some sites by Lancaster, PA which I ended going to Mount Joy to see one on display but I didn’t buy it from them. I ended up going to it was like an Ace hardware store that sold the appliances... And oh my God, I love it! My Fisher&Paykel refrigerator performs beautifully and its sleek. Even the delivery guys had never seen one or heard of them before and they were just all over it, looking at it and thought how nice it was. And the size of it is just fine for everything for where its at. Anyone looking for one especially for a counter-depth would be worth their while to check this Fisher&Paykel refrigerator out.

First, it was my Fisher & Paykel oven, which by the way, the company came out three times to try to fix. After they said they fixed it, by replacing the main circuit board, It takes well over 90 minutes to preheat to 350 degrees F. What a waste of energy and time!! Plus, sadly, I dont enjoy baking or roasting meals for my family anymore. Now, my refrigerator beeps every time I open the door, upper and lower (it is a french door frig/freezer on bottom). An F20 code is on the door panel. I read about this in the internet and customers are saying it is a $1,000+ fix!Fisher & Paykel are expensive products. Mine are only six years old. I remodeled my kitchen around these products. My only choice is to deal with the company to get them fixed. But I want EVERYBODY to know how unreliable they are!! PS I went to an open house at an expensive condominium/apartment project in Orange County, California. Noticed all the units have Fisher & Paykel kitchen appliances. Oh boy. The national multi-family home builder is NOT going to be happy when homeowners and residents start complaining.

When an appliance fails, I always believe that the best service you will get will be from the manufacturer. Hence my dish drawer started to make a troubling buzz. I booked a service online with Fisher Paykel, the manufacturer. I received an email that allowed me to track my service. I had booked a service for between 12 and 5pm and the initial time came though as 12-1pm. Immediately this isnt great as its slap bang in the middle of the day, but I requested it so I just reworked my day. Around 10am I got an update that said between 2pm and 3pm. OK, excellent I could now work out what I needed to do around this.At 2.38 its still saying between 2pm and 3pm and then I got a call from the engineer, telling me he has 4 jobs in front of me and wont be here until 5.30pm. Seriously? I called customer service and clearly they say that the app is only giving me a guide time, but why not update it? If the engineer knew his status was 5.30 at 2.38pm, it wasnt between 2-3pm at 1.59pm, was it?I then pointed out that beside this, the engineer would miss my time slot anyway, as 5.30pm is not between 12-5pm. They then offered to reschedule me, but heres where the damage really is. Fisher Paykel I NO LONGER TRUST YOU. Why would I put myself at the mercy of your poor customer service and time keeping again? Why would I allow you to disrespect my day so much by not telling me or keeping me up to date on the time of arrival. As I pointed out, the supermarket can tell me to the minute when they will deliver and they generally get it right. I will always trust them. This is the battle for customer service. Its about trust and Fisher Paykel, YOU FAILED ME. I do not want to deal with companies I cannot trust. Its up to you if you use their service.

I purchased a washer and dryer set on 9/17/08 with some life insurance money that was left to me by my father. The sales person stated that there was a 2-year warranty. I figured that if anything happens to a $1700 set in two years, the company/item is not any good. Well, close to that time I never received anything about maybe purchasing an extended warranty (as Sears always calls). Now on 9/27/11, my washer began to not wash. A little water began leaking from the front of the washer (underneath). I didnt think much of it as I work 60 hours a week and did not have time to call. But now the motor control in the display area is fried. And the people that Fisher Paykel recommended charged me $80 to come out (mind you, they never stated that the service call was that much) and tell me that it was gonna cost me another $485 for a $950+ washer. I thought, Um, no thanks. So I pulled apart and all I need is that part. I cannot find it anywhere other than the Fisher Paykel website and it is a $182+ rip-off! I will not purchase another Fisher Paykel item even if they are discounted to $1.

I bought a Fisher & Paykel range on 11/9/11. It was delivered on 12/7/11. I moved into the house on 12/12/11. I had a spill over during the first week. The two front burners allowed spill to go into the mechanism, the orifice and into the burner. I am not happy with the design and feel that it is a design flaw. I have had over 50 years of experience with ranges and have never seen one like that that does not allow for cleaning. I contacted Big 1 for resolution. They sent a service technician who stated that the burner needed to be replaced. After he left, the center burner would not light at all and the two front burners tried to ignite no matter which burner I tried to turn on.

I booked a service with Fisher and Paykel for a repair of my dish drawers, purchased in 2017. The repair cost $334 and it broke 2 days later. When I phoned, the customer service representative hung up on me when I asked for a refund. When I called back, I was only offered a partial refund and I am still $118 out of pocket for a repair that lasted 2 days. The dishwasher cost over $1500 so I certainly expected better. I knew I purchased my dryer at Lowe’s so I thought that I would be able to call them to get a copy. Well, that didnt work out quite like I thought. Lowe’s on the back end couldnt find my receipt so I thought I was out of luck. The Fisher & Paykel representative said not to worry, just give me the make and model number and we would go about this a different way. So I did. Fisher & Paykel set up an appointment with a service tech who got the part I needed and came out and installed it. My dryer is now working and my wife is happy. Now that my wife is happy, Im happy. My nightmare began when I bought a DCS 48 inch dual fuel range/ovens from Aggressive Appliance, Orlando, FL. I immediately had problems with the light, thermostat knobs and then the problems grew... My ovens would not heat about 300/350 degrees and then would not maintain that temperature. Aggressive Appliances came out over six times to fix my problems. Eventually, after replacing the third thermostat (which I was told was the only part that they didnt make... yeah right!) they said that they could not fix it. The Regional Sales Manager Peter **, then came out and he couldnt fix it either. He then said that they would replace it. I asked him at that time what would happen if the second DCS range did not work, would I be able to get my money back and he said yes, that that wasnt going to happen. Well, you guessed it... Friday they put in the second DCS 48 inch dual fuel range/ovens and the large oven does not even get warm, the light does not go off, the grill had three dents in it. This has been a continuous nightmare which is only going to get worse because I have already sent out over 118 invitations to a huge event at my house which will be catered. They want to try and fix the second range when they should have made sure it worked before shipping it to me. Zero quality control. Save yourself the heartache. Spend a little more money and get something that will work. This product and company are not worth the headaches, tears and frustration. They do not honor their expressed warranty, nor apologize (until I pointed out that no one had even said sorry), nor offer consequential or incidental damages. What was supposed to be an exciting, joyful purchase has been a living hell. Hopefully, you will be wiser because of my pain.

We bought a BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and on the 8th day, which is only the 3rd time we have used it, when it spin, the whole machine was shaking badly. So we called Fisher Paykel Customer Service and advised what happened. We took a video of the machine shaking. They scheduled us for a day for the repairman to check so my husband went off for work just to able to attend to the repairman. And then, he said, it defective and he requested with their Customer Service for it to be replaced...The second BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE arrives but when we tried it, it also shakes but not as bad as the first unit. My husband wanted to call Customer Service again. I told him, its not bad as the first unit so maybe its just normal, but the next time we used it, shaking was not good, so we took a video of it again just to show how the machine is again shaking. And not just that, we had these boxes of my boots at the side of the washing machine and its all wet and it just came to our knowledge that the BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE has a leak as well... What a quality. ;( So we called Customer Service and requested for another day to have a check on it, that was weekend. We requested if they can schedule us on the coming Monday for I am on leave from work but they said its all fully booked. They scheduled us on Wednesday same week 12-5pm.However, this is the 2nd time of this issue with this BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and its not that easy to ask from work for another half day or leave. So my husband clearly advised with the Customer Service that he will be available by 5pm and they said back theyll see. So on Wednesday, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will come on 5pm that day. The person I spoke to tells me that the technician will be finished working by 4:30pm in our area so 5pm is not possible. So I told her, is there any other option for we need someone to check the machine for it is not fair that we are paying a lot of money on this defective BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE.She throw the question back to me asking me what are other options I can think of. She told me shell ask the technician to call me 1hr before hell come. Just to put in perspective, she is quite nice lady, though. So I told her, I can use my lunch time to drive home just for this to be checked for I cant have another leave for I just had one. So she checked the technician schedule and said that we are scheduled for 12-1pm so it is fine that I can drive back home at lunch time so the technician can come at the scheduled time as what their system is saying. So I was thinking when she says that we are scheduled on 12-1pm, I just need to just go home and wait for the technician on the scheduled time.So I approached my Manager and advised that Ill be leaving but be back by 1sh. So when I arrived home around 12:10pm, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will be coming as what was scheduled, as what their system is showing. But the lady on the other line says a straight NO, YOU ARE 12-5PM, NOT 12-1PM. Which makes my blood went up to my head. I drive 35-45 minutes to come home and then you will tell me that technician will not see me as what Ive been advised on phone earlier? I was pretty mad, disappointed whatever you call it, that we bought this FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. The reason we bought a brand new is not to have a lot of drama, but we had more that we expected... Not really happy with the unit and with the Customer Service. I better refund the money for this unit and buy another Brand. THUMBS DOWN...

Yes, I will be responsible for what I write against a Fisher Paykel Dryer. I purchased a brand new washer & dryer on 4/13/2010 & I also purchased a 10 year warranty & I have nothing but trouble since I bought this brand. I am very disgusted with it. I will never purchase this brand again. I have friends that have had their other brands of washer & dryers for 25 + years, I havent had these since 2010, & am ready to go out & buy another brand, BUT, Fisher Paykel should pay for another purchase for me. As I said before, I never should have wasted my money, almost $800.00 a piece, wasted. Very Upset Consumer. I bought these from Ralphs appliance, Tiffin, Ohio.

This is a continung saga from my earlier complaint.OK, so I called in the service repair person recommended to my by F&P Customer Service. Now mind you I had absolutely no choice in the matter because, F&P would not allow me to talk to their service personnel unless I was an official appliance repair organization sanctioned by them. The dilemma is as follows: The washing machine was 4 years old and stopped in the middle of a wash cycle. The display panel was dead so I could not read any codes. I Call F&P for advise on how to diagnose the problem. They refused to let me talk to their service personnel. My background is 30 year in computer a EE degree and of those 30 years I spent 4 years fixing large mainframes. So I know a little about electronics, control board, electricity, motors etc. This did not matter to F&P, ok fair enough but why refuse me the option to solve my own problem at my own risk.In addition a new machine would cost me about $550. Now the price tag I was looking at to fix the machine was about $300 to $400 for parts and if you add in a repair person: $100 for diagnosis and then another $250 for labor your talking $700 tops for parts and labor on a machine that lasted only 4 years and cost me approx $500. If I could eliminate the middle man then I could get away with $200 to $300 parts only. Because F&P service would not talk to me I would have to eat the cost for both parts which I speculated could be the problem. They would consider both part and not be restock able. Oh if they had just talked to me.Cutting to the quick the repair person confirmed that the motor control board was bad and, now heres the gem, I also have a burned out pump. To diagnose the pump problem the repair person called F&P service and they instructed him to ohm out the pump. Now I could have done that. So the end result was I was looking at $280 for part and, $250 for labor. On top of that the repair person also offered to buy the machine if I decided to junk it and, buy a new one. So now let me ask you, is there a problem with his scenario. So I called F&P parts and they are shipping me the parts for a grand total of $210 and that includes, shipping. But, there still remains a problem. If I install the part I void the part warranty and if I have the repair person do this then it cost me $250 maybe more because now they loose the part markup. So my position is as follows should I pursue a legal option. F&P recommended the service person I called and had them come is for a cost to me of $100. He diagnosed the problem to be the motor control board and the pump, the latter being assisted by F&P service. If I install both parts, pump then motor control, dont want the pump blowing the motor control again and, the machine does not work, I will conclude the repair person did not meet their obligation and, either I will request a refund for poor service (i.e. I will chase them down using the AGs office first then, take them to small claims) or ask them to further diagnose the issue at no charge. Count on it I will be there when they come in. I know my way around electronics. As for F&P they need to think further about how to deal with product repair. Their customers are being fleeced and F&P is complicate. Now heres a bonus. The repair man told me that the reason the pump went bad, which burned out my motor control board, hmmmm, was because, I used liquid detergent. Yes folks take a look at your grocers shelves and tell me what sort of detergent is being promoted? Thats right, liquid. Appears that liquid detergent breaks down the motor seals. The repair person recommended we use powder. My wife had to search hard to find a powdered detergent. So folk your washer is doomed from day one. Now I dont make these machines but I was wondering if there could be a class action suit in here.Oh and by the way those dryer sheets you put in to make your clothes smell good. Well they can coat your dryer and start a fire and if you have small children well those same sheets will remove the fire retardant material from their clothes.

I bought a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and refrigerator quite some time ago. After 3 or 4 years, the dishwasher was deemed beyond repair so we had to buy a new one. The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.

Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud.
Our Fisher & Paykel Induction stove/Electric Range is apparently a dud. It is less than 3 years old and so you would not think these sorts of things would happen. The oven began shutting itself off, during its use, for no apparent reason. Sometimes it would shut off within seconds, other times during a cycle and so there would not be any warning, I would just come around the corner and see the light flashing and know that it had shut itself off. F&P suggested I contact the nearest authorized service tech. I had to explain, to 3 different people, (even sent a map) that the person they were recommending was a 10 hour drive, with a 2 hour ferry ride.I finally found a local person who is willing to look at my range but only if he can obtain a service manual so he can look the product over first, before coming out. Fisher & Paykel say only authorized people can have a copy. This person is willing to fix my range and they wont let him. Now a new problem appeared today. I suddenly have 2 elements not operating. There is an error code coming up, on the 2 elements on the same side, even though I am only trying to turn 1 of them on. And, the kicker is, there is no such error code in their consumer manual that is displayed on my stovetop. I strongly recommend people stay away from Fisher & Paykel.

We bought dishwasher 9/8/15, installed 9/15, did one load in top drawer; neither drawer has worked since. Tech from Fisher & Paykel came out on 9/11, said control board & heating element bad, took them with him. He said he would try to get parts overnighted. Thats the last we have seen or heard from him. We have called, emailed Fisher & Paykel & now they say they will be back on 9/28 between 12 & 5. Fortunately, we have not paid for this thing & have contacted our credit card company regarding the charge & they have sent letter to dealer contesting the charge. A close friend who repairs appliances will not work on these machines, saying they are impossible to fix (wish I had talked to him before purchase). I will update this post after 9/28, but I have a feeling its never going to work right & I think my friend will be uninstalling this thing shortly.

We have a GWL12 top-loading washer. I will start off by saying my wife and I love the washer and dryer we have, but we are not loving it so much these days. We have had the controller board go out for the third time and its getting very costly. I will say Fisher Paykel did step up to the plate on the first one, but the second was on me, and now I have yet another dead washer. I have been all up and down these forums and had seen nothing but bad reviews when it comes to these controller boards. These boards are $150 a pop. This last one only lasted 2 years. I had to go buy an older, used washer just to keep the washing going. But I still have hopes of fixing this washer one last time. Dont get me wrong, its a really good washer when its running. I have seen bad reviews on the GWL11 and GWL12 for this problem. I hope things are improving over there. These are too expensive of washers to break down like this. Sorry for the rant.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer in 2009. The washer has worked okay, except for two instances in which the pump wouldnt drain its water and investigation determined the pump had been obstructed by lint. The dryer is another issue altogether. The first problem came just over a year into owning this appliance. The bearing was deemed failed and it had to be replaced. The bearing is less than a year old and the dryer again sounds like bare metal grinding on bare metal. Now...the dryer had to be serviced for heating problems. Specifically, the dryer would run for hours without drying the clothes. It was determined that the lint sensor trips the heater to prevent fire...makes sense, but further investigation found that the fine mesh screen which serves as a filter has dry-rotted and failed, so lint quickly moves to the inside of the appliance and repeatedly triggers the safety mechanism.Question: Why should I have to take this unit apart every couple of days to clean it? The design is obviously flawed. Ive never done such a thing to the previous dryer I owned, nor have my parents...even when there were eight of us in the house. Sadly, I was given the entire song and dance about how wonderful these high priced, gilded turds would save me time and money. Nothing is further from the truth. While the appliance technician has been friendly and helpful (once I can get in touch with him), these appliances have been miserable to own. I share my house with four others and the laundry piles up quickly...not to mention the fact that the dryer is a fire waiting to happen. I had a Whirlpool standard dryer that was seven years old and I got rid of it when I bought these gems...it still worked. What was I thinking? Now the decision must be made...shell out a few hundred bucks for a poorly designed lint filter and service, or, look for an older standard dryer. Guess what...Goodbye Fisher Paykel! Note to others: Stay well clear of this high tech junk.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel built in oven model OB60SD10PX1 6 weeks ago. I spelt something on the bottom of the oven. So I started the self cleaning function. The oven over heated during this function and burnt out the motherboard safety switch and door lock. I called F&P. Their customer service representative was given a contract number for a service agent. Waited 10 days for someone to come out to have a look at the oven. Technician replaced the door lock and motherboard but the safety switch is out of stock, and will be another 2to 3 weeks delay. I have done some research on the faulty F216 - and it seems that this is a known fault with this oven. If this is the case shouldnt this oven be recalled? As I have only had this oven for 6 weeks with a known fault you would think that I would be entitled to a refund/store credit.

We picked Fisher Paykel, and love it - the design, the ice maker, the water through the door. The only thing is, depending on the glasses that we use for the water, sometimes it piddles a little bit down the refrigerator. But I like the inside. I like the freezer. I bought a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher DishDrawer. The brand is very expensive, but I liked the DishDrawer feature and I was willing to pay more thinking it was a good and reputable brand. It turned out to be nothing but trouble. Countless service calls later and I finally gave up about two years ago and started washing dishes by hand. I bought this unit when I was remodeling my kitchen, so I decided to buy the unit that allows you to put the custom cabinet panels on it. So, I wasted the money not only on the dishwasher, but also on the custom cabinet panels. Not only that, but simply replacing the unit would not just be an extra expense I could not afford, but it would also change the look of my kitchen, which I spent so much time and money remodeling. Every time I would call the one and only service company in town to come out, it would work only slightly better and soon stop working again. It never seemed to work at 100% capacity. I think I spent more money on service calls than the actual appliance. How sad is that.

Whatever you do stay away from DCS. We purchased a DCS 6 burner Range-top, fridge, and wall oven in November 2014. No problem with anything until second batch of Christmas cookies a week before Christmas when the oven temp dropped to 140. Repairman said we needed a micro temp limiter and another limiter. He said he could probably fix it before Christmas if he could get the parts. Having selected DCS because of offices and warehouse in California we thought we were going to be roasting turkey and baking rolls for a big family Christmas dinner... Not exactly. Sometime last Fall the Fisher and Paykel brain trust closed all their US warehouses and all phone calls for customer service are now routed to New Zealand. The Kiwis working the phones in Wellington are useless. They can tell us they know the parts have been ordered but they dont have them in stock and they cannot tell us when they will be available to ship to the US. Weve been without the wall oven for a month now. Crossing our fingers that the fridge and range-top keep working.

Our experience was extraordinarily good. I was impressed. The equipment is nice, the design is nice. I’m an engineer so I say this. But the brand name on the outside is DCS. We bought the six-burner gas oven, too. And we just bought a new oven for our rental property. There’s only a couple of companies in the world that I’d recommend for appliances at all, and Fisher & Paykel is one of them. The service and the people that sold them to us in all cases, we bought several, were first class. The people were knowledgeable, thorough, responsive, and the stuff arrived on time. The pricing was very competitive and the quality of the devices is, from a mechanical perspective and electronic perspective, excellent. And in terms of its user friendliness to my wife who uses them most of the time, the biggest problem with the dishwasher is you can’t hear it. The wonderful thing about the six-burner stove is it has a simmer control and most stoves don’t have that. I was a professional chef and so I know the Viking and Garland brands pretty well. And the DCS stove comes as close to a Garland as you’re going to get at a very good price. And that’s very important to know because people don’t understand. Most people aren’t chefs. So the stuff has been super. I’ve been very pleased. Keep up the good work because remember, the two most important things in the world are that they should work but the customer service has to be first class and it always has been. My wife’s very best friend is building a new house and we recommended all of Fisher & Paykel stuff to her yesterday.

Compared to the other dishwashers we had in the past Fisher & Paykel is superior in noise, cleaning, versatility. Being able to use just a minor amount versus the whole thing because it had two drawers, two different sizes. There’s a big problem we had with getting the warranty registered because the builder installed it and we assumed he registered the warranty, but he didnt. So we had to go back and look at the procedures. It took quite a bit of time to get the warranty registered correctly. We purchased a top load washer/dryer set in July 2009. By November 2010, the heating element in the dryer broker and the lint trap was clogged, meaning the dryer was not producing any heat to dry clothes. We had it serviced at that time, replacing the heating element and removing the lint trap to clean it, and now in January 2012, the link trap is clogged again. Also, almost immediately after purchase, the washing machine started leaking whenever a load was more than half full. Additionally, the washer began to (and still) stop wash cycles regularly because the load is not balanced. Sometimes, a wash cycle will stop up to 10 times before it finally runs through, taking almost a full day to wash one load of sheets/blankets. Also, in January 2012, we noticed that the top part of the plastic basket in the washer has begun to shred and tear. We are now weighing the choice of having a repair man out to fix it or not sink any more money into a machine were so unhappy with.We have been extremely disappointed with this set. We purchased this make and model when we built our new home because we wanted a modern, efficient washer/dryer. What we got was almost three years of headaches, service calls, and wasted water and electric.

I got the double-door dishwasher and the refrigerator. I like them both a lot! I love the way they look, but I also love the way they function. With the dishwasher, I have the tall drawer and the shorter drawer as opposed to the two equal sized drawers and for us, it works so efficiently. We’re two people, and you can do half a load or the whole thing at the same time. It’s very user friendly. Installation - a bit of a pain. He told me to call them to get authorization and the customer service agent told me, I dont know why youre calling us. I called the service tech back, now I have to pay for parts and service call on a machine that is only 2 years old! After looking up this washer and all the complaints on this company, I will never purchase this brand again!

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2001 because I thought that the two drawers would be great since there are just two of us at home. Directly out of the box, this dishwasher had a dented stainless steel panel on one of the drawers. The water sensor was defective in the other, which caused noisy alarms and error messages. It only got better from there. Both drawers seals were defective and replaced multiple times in the first year. When the seal again caused alarms to go off after the warranty, the bill was over $150.00 each time this happened. These drawers were lemons from the start and should have been replaced. I have not used the machine for eight years. My husband and I do our dishes by hand. However, my current horror with this product is that now, to add insult to injury, the two drawers take turns in making beeping and/or clicking noises and the lights flash. This leads us to turn off the circuit breaker. Since my trash compactor is also on that circuit, I am unable to use everything in the kitchen that is also on that circuit--unless I go to the basement and turn on the breaker. This product is not worth the effort of purchasing. After the first year of keeping the machine running, I was told that the changes were made to the drawers that improved the quality and reliability. This purchase has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend this product to a friend. Just the thought of paying another $1,800.00 to some company for a machine to wash my dishes gives me pause to say the least. I am extremely disappointed in every aspect of this product. Certainly, the design, workmanship, quality control, value and servicing have failed to meet its intended purpose.

I have just replaced my old Fisher Paykel dish drawers with new ones. I love the drawers. Their size and versatility work great for the two of us. The inside of new one is a bit smaller than my old one so that is taking some getting used to. That one small thing is my only complaint. I would definitely recommend Fisher Paykel Dish Drawers (and have).

We bought a brand new house with brand new appliances. Since move in, our warming drawer and dishwasher have not worked properly. The dishwasher has always leaked and the warming drawer was actually midwifed AT THE FACTORY. It turned on high and wouldnt turn off. It melted its own thermostat and control knob and was a major fire hazard. We had to turn off the breaker. The parts have since been replaced. The dishwasher is a major leak problem. It is ruining our beautiful new floor. We have had 4 services on it and a replaced part and the bottom drawer still leaks. Despite the fact that it is under manufacturers warranty, the company wont replace it. Save yourself the pain and DO NOT PURCHASE from this company.

We had to replace a fridge that was 11 years old and defective so we got a Fisher & Paykel. We certainly appreciate the ice-making system and the fact that it doesnt take up too much room from the refrigerator section, thats for the cold water. Compared to other makes, the other one seems to take up a lot of room, this one is just a small space in the door. And for the ice, its very reasonable. Thats the main thing. This is the first time that I have the French doors. You cannot pull the drawers, neither the fruit nor the meat drawers without opening both doors. So this is one thing that may not be the most efficient and this to me would be not totally negative.

I was first introduced to Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers about 6 years ago. They were two drawers placed separately on either side of the kitchen sink. They were really wonderful and I had no problems with them. I then bought and renovated two new homes and put fisher paykel dishwashing drawers in both homes. They are the stacked drawers. Have not had problem with them except the bottom one started leaking and the top one smells horribly of mold. I feel it in my lungs every time I breathe in the air after opening the top drawer. I called customer service and spoke to someone from New Zealand (very difficult time understanding her) who said that I should use let it shine from Home Depot and run it through a cycle. Well this did not help so now I have to endure this terrible mold smell every time I open the top drawer. After this experience I am very doubtful I would ever buy another fisher paykel product.

I had a Maytag that I had been suffering through with for two years and hated it unbelievably and I did not want one of those front loader machines because of all the mold and whatever issues with the door, and I have to worry about leaving the door open and cleaning the door, cleaning the machine and all that stuff for I got the Maytag and oh my God! I felt like it did a terrible job. I dont like my washing machine being locked for a big long period of time that I cant get into it and I have to sit there and wait and wait. It was horrible. I only used it on one cycle and that was the cycle that filled it all the way up because it didnt do a good job the rest of the time. Finally, I just had enough and I started researching, which I had researched when I bought that one too. But I started researching and really reading a ton of consumer information out there on the internet. I noticed that some other people have had the same problem I had and they bought this Fisher & Paykel. My husband knew I was looking for one and he came up with the same one. I said, Well, I dont know. I guess Ill try it. Well order it from Sears. I paid 200 and some dollars just to have it brought to me. But it was supposed to be new in the box so I ordered it from their outlet. Ever since I have gotten it, the minute you pushed for it to unlock, it stops immediately and its unlocked. And so, thats not an issue for me at all. It doesnt finish its cycle and then unlock. I truly love it. And I choose my own level that its going to be at. You can do that or you can let it do its own thing. I checked it a couple of times when Ive let it do its own thing and it seems just to fill it to where it should. But Im kind of old school so I like to choose my own water level. Also, sometimes Ill wash a load and do a little bit of a bleach in it, and then I want to rewash the whole thing. Once that water spins out of there, I can push it forward to be done with the cycle and start it over again, and that works. The other one did not work - I had to let it complete and for being so energy efficient it used so much energy you just cant even believe. This one, you still get to tell it what to do, you are in charge of it, and it does an excellent job.

Our dishwasher was installed during a remodel by the appliance company in August 2021. The top drawer immediately had issues getting stuck on a code during every wash, beeping and stopping the cycle. We had the appliance service come out 4 times with no resolution. Fisher Paykel declined to replace the product stating it was an installation error. The appliance company has come out twice more with no resolution. We have been making due, being patient, because the bottom drawer which is smaller, had been working. Today the bottom drawer malfunctioned, in order to stop the beeping we had to turn off the electricity to the dishwasher. We have spoken to Fisher Paykel on two occasions asking for replacement, the appliance company has taken pictures to indicate this is not a installation issue. It has been a fight to prove this is a faulty product. This is a Fisher Paykel appliance and I would expect them to address the issue. It is now the end of January and we have yet to have a functioning product.

My F&P washing machine kept getting stuck and not draining. I had a repair come out and $380 fixed it. Six months later, same thing with machine not draining. I took to the internet and found out that the drain pump was likely plugged. I was able to fix it myself, which wasnt easy, turning machine on its side, pulling out the coin that was clogging the pump, etc. This happened four more times, me fixing it each time. Then the last time, there was nothing clogging it. Repairman said $400 to fix. I said, Forget you, and tossed the machine. Now I have an LG which I love. My F&P dryer is now squeaking and making a horrible noise. Its less than five years old. I refuse to put any more money into these pieces of junk, so unless me replacing the bearing myself works, it will also be joining the washer in appliance heaven (oops, maybe hell). FYI, customer service is also horrible and offers you no help once your warranty is up. Big surprise there.

Ive never heard of Fisher & Paykel before but I have a nephew that did and lives close to me. I knew he sells appliances so I contacted him. He told me that he had been selling appliances for over 10 years and he was very satisfied with Fisher & Paykel so I purchased my refrigerator from them. We are on our second refrigerator from Fisher & Paykel. FP replaced the first one after one year of constant problems, frustrations and technicians repairing it. We had the new one for one week and a part just fell off the interior of the door so it would no longer self close on one side. After 2 years, we got an error code for fan failures which, according to the manual, was highly unlikely to ever happen. Repair man came out and replaced the fans. One month later, I noticed the upper fridge area was not very cold, so I adjusted the setting towards colder. A few days later, my husband opened the freezer and ice had accumulated everywhere. We inspected the door seal and all around the drawers and nothing was blocking or preventing the door from shutting. Repair man came back out, inspected the seals as well and determined it was from a leak somewhere in the back of the unit. FP said we were most likely at fault for leaving the door open. Not true! They said we should unplug the unit, remove all food and let defrost for 24 hours. Repair man said that would be such a huge mess and inconvenience for something that will just recur again. I called FP back and got the usual run around with their terrible customer service people. I have wasted so much of my time dealing with Fisher and Paykel. I just want my money refunded so I can buy a product from a reliable company.

I bought a FP washer and dryer. The washer had a valve go bad after a few years leaking water and costing me a lot to fix it. The dryer opened during a cycle and spit my clothes out on the motor a little over 3 years old. I was told the repairman never had one apart and did not go to FP repair school. That means I would have to pay him to practice on my dryer. I also thought I was buying a unit that would last for several years. I purchased a Fisher and Paykel fridge model e52213. We had issues with the ice machine not working and then the water dispenser stopped working shortly after buying the fridge. The fridge technician could not isolate the problem. We had ongoing problems with ice temperature and back light display. I sourced the issue with the fridge myself due to the smell of burning wires in the top of the door. I noticed that the wire has no second insulation and that the action of the door could wear or cut by crimping in this area.Three of the wires on our unit have been cut and the other wires are bare. I feel this could be the cause of problems for a lot of other people with this model fridge with ongoing beeping and flashing lights and no temp control. Our fridge is just out of warranty but if the wires had not rubbed or crimped, our fridge would still be operating. I feel this is a design hazard rather than a warranty issue. Our fridge is a right to left opening model. I am not sure if this would make a difference. Looking forward to your response.

A friend who had a refrigerator recommended Fisher & Paykel to me. My first purchase was a refrigerator. The second one, the most recent, was a dishwasher. I was so pleased with my refrigerator that’s why I chose the same Fisher & Paykel for a dishwasher. However, with the dishwasher, I’m not real happy with it. It was leaving a lot of spots on the glasses. I’ve tried changing the rinse agent that I put in and changing dishwasher detergent, which did improve it somewhat. But I’m finding it is not getting the dishes and cups and things as clean as other dishwashers I’ve had. I was still trying to experiment with different detergents and whatnot. And if I’m still unhappy, then I would definitely give them a call. Nonetheless, I think Fisher & Paykel is a good company and they stand behind their product.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel two-drawer dishwasher, my first F&P purchase. We had a designer help us redo our kitchen. We have a very tiny kitchen. She suggested it as space saving. The traditional one, the big door practically blocked the entire way; the dishwasher was at the end of the counter and when you open the door, there was hardly any room to walk in the kitchen. The drawers of this F&P dishwasher take up less space when you open them up and when you put dishes in, you don’t block the way to the kitchen. It’s very, very good! We especially like the function of it that you can do half a load at a time. We have a little 7 year old who lives with us and our daughter, and with all of us, a lot of dishes go through there and we don’t run out of dishes anymore, because she does little half loads and they’re ready. It’s very convenient and easy. And the quality, the way the dishes come out, they look very clean, very nice. We’re very happy because besides function, the other things with the space saving and ergonomically, the way it can be standing upright and drop things in, it’s just really nice all around! It’s very quiet as well.

Its a shame that all the people who have left complaints here, dont have a friend or family member thats a appliance tech, because the Fisher & Paykel washer & top load dryer are the best laundry set Ive ever owned. Fortunately for me that I have a brother who not only is a tech, but also worked for Fisher & Paykel, so he knows their products, inside and out. When I 1st got them and saw the tops were all plastic, I thought I was forced into the biggest mistake of my life. Because like many other people here, I got rid of my Maytag set that were still working after 30 years with very little service. Although Ive had some issues with the top load dryer, mainly the lint build-up behind the grill that he vacuums out once a month. Ive only had to replace a lint screen and bearings kit in the 6 years that Ive own it. Since I only had to pay for the parts and not for labor or service charge, my cost have been very minimal. As for the washer, the only problem is that when we do large loads it usually splashes water on to the basement floor. Since its only a concrete floor, its not a major issue. The only thing my brother can think why we are not experiencing the same problems with leaking pumps causing computer board to burn out is, we all bought our machines manufactured in New Zealand before they opened their Ohio, USA factory.Considering all the laundry my family does in a week, the Fisher & Paykel set has held up very well, so far. I know its largely in part because my brother is an appliance tech and not everyone is as fortunate. But Im very happy with them. The reverse- tumble dryer has cut down on my ironing, saving a great deal of time and energy.

In most ways, this range is just what we hoped it would be, but the noisy fan that blows oven-cooling air across the burners whenever the ovens are heated over 300 degrees leaves us dissatisfied with this range. We have an open kitchen/dining/living room and the fan noise makes us avoid using the ovens if we have guests or just want a quiet evening. The good points for this range are many, however. We love the griddle and use it almost daily. It has even heat and very sensitive temperature control. Likewise, the burners are very nice. The simmer is just wonderful, just warm enough to keep a sauce warm but not hot enough to burn. The high range heats water very fast cutting the time for heating pasta water or bringing canning water up to temperature. Cleanup of both the griddle and burners is easy with the sealed cooktop. The grates are heavy and secure. Its easy to slide heavy pots across the cooktop. We bought a two-oven model for big family gatherings, like holidays. It is so disappointing that they are so noisy. So, overall, we really can not say we are satisfied, although we feel that the range is well made and otherwise well-designed.

We purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and top loading dryer 4 years ago when we built a new house. We were assured by the salesperson of the quality and how they have very little maintenance issues. After a year and a half, we had to replace the heating element and fuses (luckily under warranty) and this took 2-3 weeks for them to figure out was wrong and repair (said it was fixed twice and had to return). Here we are 2 years later, and we had to replace the heating element and fuses again. So this time, it is over $350 out of our pocket since we are out of warranty. The heating element for a dryer should last for more than 2 years and this is obviously a design flaw or something. It looks like we need to replace the machine as we cant continue to pump money into a lemon.

I wish I had heard about the Fisher Paykel brand about 6 years ago, and I definitely would have bypassed this brand. I have no problems with the dryer so far, but the washer starts beeping into the wash cycle, and it takes forever (and I mean forever) for the tub to fill (Im talking about all day to finish 2 loads of clothes), because Im constantly having to go and press the machine to start up again. It wont rinse. It only fills, and then drains. It also leaks from time to time. I figure the whole panel is shot, and I dont know what the deal is with the tub filling so slowly, but Im completely fed up with it, and after reading other complaints, I feel misled by this company and doubt Ill even bother to waste money to have it checked out. Both the washer and dryer had light usage (2 to 3 loads per week). I will never buy another washer or dryer with a push button computer panel, nor will it ever be the Fisher Paykel brand. I bought my old Kenmore washer and dryer second-handed, and they were still going after 28 years, when I got rid of them. I wish I had them back (who cares if they werent energy efficient, they worked, which is more than I can say for the overpriced cheap junk imported from overseas these days)! I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer. It is 6 years old and 1 year out of extended warranty. I called the local factorys recommended shop on Thursday and Baker Appliance came out the next Monday. He ordered the part for regular delivery. A different repairman returned on Monday, a week later, to replace the electronic control unit. They discovered the wrong part was sent. He said the box had the correct part number on it but the part inside was incorrect. Does this happen a lot?My issue is, he told my wife they would ship the correct part the next day. I called them Tuesday to ask about the part delivery. The girl said she would check and call me back but never did. I left a message on Tuesday night and she called me back Wednesday morning and said she didnt have it yet. I called again and explained what the repairman had said. She asked someone in her office about it. She said they werent told and it would be another $50 for next day shipping. I then gave up.Wouldnt Fisher & Paykel absorb the additional cost if they shipped the wrong part? I spent more than $50 at the laundromat over the last 2 weeks. We have 5 people in our home.

In April we purchased a $2000 Fisher Paykel fridge with water and ice maker. We quickly realized the door did not close properly and was misaligned as the water/ice maker worked roughly one week on one week off. We called our dealer and they sent out a service representative who told us the water/ice maker could be replaced but he didnt know how to fix the misalignment of the door. He said he would get back to me. By late July nothing had happened and he basically washed his hands of it telling me the Fisher Paykel regional manager had ordered parts and would get back to us. By late September the parts had still not arrived so we started contacting Fisher Paykel America for help. They kept referring everything back to the regional manager who, for some reason, refused to contact us with updates. We were still waiting for a fix when they told us in October that the fridge misalignment could not be fixed. We asked for another fridge and was told that they didnt make this model any more and the closest model that would fit in our space was $500 more and was 0.5 cu. feet smaller. I asked that they replace our fridge with this one at no extra cost and they refused only offering an in-store credit for the original amount. Sorry I expect more for all the grief and inconvenience they have cased us.

I used to have a Fisher & Paykel and the reason I was purchasing something is I just remodeled a kitchen in a newer and different house than the one where I had the other one. I got the two-door dishwasher with the tall drawer. Its ugly. I didnt realize it wasnt the same in the front and they ruined the front completely. If I could have sent it back without paying a 25% up charge for returning it, I would have returned it. Im very disappointed. I have the recessed handle, it used to be all stainless steel, now theyve got some junky plastic in the front and thats terrible. I wanted the tall drawer but I assumed it was the same... it looks chintzy. Compared to the rest of my appliances, Im sorry I bought it. I bought it because its great for doing wine glasses although I find that the spot where the wine glasses go is just a slight bit narrower than what I used to have because Im having a little bit more trouble trying to get them into the slot. The dishwasher works just fine. Aesthetically, they ruined it. And I loved my other one. I just think that they didnt do a good job of remodeling it. It doesnt help the people that paid top dollar, I could have had a Bosch which is an equally competent dishwasher or any others and I chose this one because of the fact that I could do a smaller load so theres some wonderful things about it but the look upsets me.

We purchased a new Fisher Paykel refrigerator in MAY of 2013 (two months ago). When delivered and plugged in, the compressor was very loud and created a tone that is at a frequency that is intolerable. High pitch buzzing. This is straight out of the box. After 2 months, 6 service calls and three days off from work and new parts, it keeps whinging along. So loud it is causing my ears to ring. Fisher Paykel is not responsive and is giving the business we bought it from a runaround (Cocoplum appliance Essex, Vermont). Even after filing a complaint with the US FTC and the State of Vermont Consumer Affairs, there is no resolution. We are waiting to hear back today and if no response, we will get a personal injury attorney to work on a hearing damage claim. It is probably the only way to approach this as theres no where to turn. I do not understand that when they delivered a defective product, they dont back it up with the warranty.
