Revolutionary ComfortBridge technology is factory-installed into select Goodman brand gas furnaces and air handlers to ensure that the entire system operates at peak, energy-efficient performance. Simply put, communications technology that is typically located in a thermostat was moved from the wall and securely placed into the HVAC equipment!

The two-stage scroll compressor runs at either 65% or 100% capacity, depending on cooling/heating demand. This operational flexibility provides a great energy-efficient option when compared to a traditional, single-stage unit.

The top performance of an electronically commutated motor (ECM) allows for two levels of operation depending on your airflow needs. It is a great energy-efficient option when compared to a traditional, single-speed motor.

Designed to regulate and communicate with your ComfortBridge Controls System so you can remotely monitor and manage your heating and cooling system at any time, from anywhere with just an internet connection.

Filter-driers play a pivotal role in the operation of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. A factory installed filter-drier absorbs and filter''s residual system contaminants and moisture.

Ensures refrigerant is ready even in extreme external temperatures.

Goodman heat pumps have a built-in diagnostic system that can display error codes to help identify and troubleshoot issues. Here are some common Goodman heat pump error codes and their possible meanings:

E0: This error code indicates a communication problem between the thermostat and the control board. It could be due to a wiring issue or a faulty thermostat.

E1: This code usually indicates a problem with the indoor blower motor or the control board. It may require professional service to diagnose and fix the issue.

E2: This error code typically points to a problem with the outdoor coil temperature sensor. It could be due to a faulty sensor or a wiring issue.

E3: This code indicates an issue with the indoor coil temperature sensor. It may be caused by a faulty sensor or a wiring problem.

E4: This error code indicates a high-pressure protection fault. It could be due to a refrigerant overcharge, a blockage in the refrigerant lines, or a problem with the outdoor fan motor.

E5: This code typically indicates a low-pressure protection fault. It could be caused by a refrigerant leak, a restriction in the refrigerant lines, or a problem with the outdoor fan motor.

These are just a few examples of common error codes for Goodman heat pumps. I just got my furnace 2 years ago and the air went out, and now the furnace is not working. I am a senior citizen with 2 grandkids living with me. I am now using space heaters trying to keep the family warm during this cold time. We live in STL and I am willing to pay for the part but I dont see where you have the part in stock, B1282628S. What a Christmas! Can you help me?

My husband is the one who got it. He heard me complaining and thought he’d do something about it. The Carrier we had before had nothing left in it, it kept breaking down and costing us money. We bought this new unit from Goodman and I think my husband made the right choice. It cools the house really well, and I’m glad we have.

On October 16, 2012 we were awakened by a terrible noise coming from our Goodman HVAC unit inside our 6-year-old Fischer condo. We found that the noise went away when we turned off the heat, which is not feasible when the weather has turned cold recently. Since we have been under a service agreement for the past 2 years with Ricks Heating and Cooling I had them come out and upon investigation it was determined that the noise was related to vibration in the extremely long line-set (approximately 106-110 feet) and DelMonde (the installation company) had paired the 3-ton outdoor heat pump with a 2-1/2 ton inside air handler. We have not been able to use the heat pump as the compressor is failing and the coil on the interior air handler has also failed. Therefore, we have been relying strictly on emergency heat and space heaters and keeping the thermostat low in an attempt to minimize our electric bills.Additionally, Rick Martin of Ricks Heating & Cooling states that even if we replace the heating and air conditioning system he cannot guarantee future performance due to faulty installation of the existing line. Ideally, the entire system needs to be replaced and new Freon lines run in the proper location. This could be a considerable cost to us and may possibly also involve having to cut through our drywall and that of our neighbors. Naturally, we do not wish to involve our neighbor in this matter, nor do we want to have to bring it up before our condo association board and would like to minimize intrusion and inconvenience of others. As luck would have it the heat pump only had a 5-year warranty and the coil has a ten-year warranty, however, DelMonde failed to register either item for the warranties. After many weeks of getting opinions from other HVAC companies, two visits from DelMonde, and numerous phones calls with Gary ** of Fischer Homes Warranty Dept. we had an inspection on December 5 with representatives from DelMonde (the installation company), a Goodman factory rep., and Gary ** of Fischer. On December 10, 2012 we received a written opinion from Rob **, the Goodman factory rep, who declared that the refrigerant line set was within guidelines of 150 feet and equates to a capacity decrease from rating of approximately 12% and It is not outside our allowable design parameters per the R-22 Long Line Set Application guide and is not detrimental to the system operation. He further noted that the heat pump and air handler is a proper match ... and he can find no issues with the application or installation. This is very perplexing to us, especially since 3 different HVAC specialists have indicated that the very long line set is much longer than they would deem appropriate and heat pump/air handler do not appear to be a proper match. On December 16, I wrote a response to Rob ** stating that we are not satisfied with his findings and felt the cost burden to replace our HVAC system should be equally shared by Goodman, Fischer, DelMonde and us. To date, we have yet to receive a reply to my proposal.

Since we had our 2 Goodman air conditioners installed we have had nothing but troubles. 4 times now the coil in one or both have had to be replaced at approx. $583.00 each. Then a small part on the compressor failed to the tune of $1200.00. Now the compressor itself failed and we are waiting on a quote to get it replaced. Keep in mind this is all labor only as the units are still under warranty for parts. The math is simple, more than $3000.00 and counting to constantly repair these units. They are garbage. The Goodman AC company should STOP producing ACs immediately. They are faulty. I will be contacting a lawyer.

Seems like I have a common problem with several consumers that have purchased a Goodman HVAC system. I built my house in 2009 and the builder installed 2 units, upper and lower. Every year I experienced issues with both units. We had to replace the coils and fan in the lower unit, we have to add Freon every year, $500+ because the units stop cooling. Ive spent well over $3000 for parts and labor. Now, looks like the upper unit continues to fail and the Goodman customer service department acts like the company has no concern for a resolution. My warranty expired after 5 years, because I too never received registration papers for an extended warranty.

I purchased a Goodman central air conditioner in 2009. Since that purchase I have had to change the inside coils within 4 yrs and numerous service calls. Last year June of 2013, there was a leak on the inside coils and it cost me 400.00 labor and prior to that I spent 350.00 to diagnose the problem. Now it is Sept 2014, the air compressor locked up and failed, now the warranty expired in 5 yrs. I am looking at a replacement cost of at least 1400.00, but Goodman honored the warranty because it was expired by 2 days. Next week Sept 15 the coils in the unit leaked, the technicians tried to repaired it but could not. I had to purchase a new unit for 1450.00

We had a Goodman 3 Ton Unit replaced on 7/21/2015. It cooled all of about 1/2 day. Since it was installed in July during heatwave (94 for more than a week) we thought it was taking house time to cool and the air out of the vent felt marginally cooler than air temp., But we were delusional. The unit was blowing warm air. The installer came on 4 occasions. 1st time to remove Freon, 2nd time and third time diagnose system, 4th install indoor thermostat. Nothing. The unit blows cold air when the sun is down and as soon as the sun comes up fails and blows hot air. Miserable unit. Had a second HVAC person look at unit. Diagnosis, Condenser. To that I say, REALLY it’s not even installed a month??? My house is 80 +, I should not have to live in the heat with a brand new unit sitting outside my house. Today we are suppose to have our installer back to replace the condenser. If this does have the system up and running 24/7, my instructions are for him to remove the unit and install another brand more reputable such as Carrier, York, Trane. I did in depth research to find Goodmans are nothing but a ton of junk that really needs to be pulled off the market. Waste of everyones time and dollars. Furious.

3-ton package unit, 16 SEER - Shortly after the unit was installed, we noticed water draining on our wooden deck. The unit was not placed on our deck, but it butted up against it. This was in June that it was installed. It is Nov. 9, 2017, and it is still drenching our wooden deck when the air conditioning is on. The company has tried everything they know to do, and they have spent hours and hours and hours here with many calls, 12 different techs. The guy yesterday and another tech said the unit is a poor design. The insulation was removed and was dripping water like a pitcher of water pouring out. We have condensation on top of the unit and rusting in one corner. We have not paid any money for all the hours and things they have tried. Next they are going to lift the unit and put in a drain pan. My husband is concerned that the water is still going to be a problem, and with winter coming, we will not be using the AC until spring to see if it is fixed. Goodman has been no help. NEVER gonna buy a Goodman product ever again!

Several years ago I purchased a Goodman central air conditioner through a local dealer. It was supposed to be high quality with a 10 year warranty. After several years the coil developed a very small leak and had to be replaced. I tried to get Goodman to replace it, but they told me that I did not register it correctly and essentially told me to **. After some quick research, I found out there is a class action suit against Goodman for knowingly selling coils with a defective design. Many customers have been stuck with these faulty coils. STAY AWAY FROM ANY PRODUCT GOODMAN SELLS. On the Goodman website it says IN LARGE TYPE A name you can trust. Do not believe it. I understand that any company can make design mistakes, but Goodman is a very large company that could afford to stand behind their products, but choose NOT TO. Check out the consumer reviews. Goodman is VERY LOW.

My Goodman unit was installed new 2008, both inside and out. The inside unit which was a gas furnace had to be replaced as it was still under the 5 year warranty. The outside unit stopped working about a month ago, which the HVAC guy said it was the capacitor was gone. They replaced that and a week later it stopped working. So now I was told to replace the coil as that was the problem. So I had to pay for that to be replaced, as I was told the warranty was only covered 5 years. That being done, a week later it stopped working again. So this time they said I needed to change out the outside unit.I started asking question as I am now very frustrated, and did a little research. Come to find out, these should have been covered under the 10 year warranty, but we are not being told by the HVAC people to register the system. I was under the impression that they register it, as they are the ones that order them and install them. I have been doing property management for 20 years and was never told this. Also my clients have never been told this either, so I am thinking this is another way for them to make money, as we have to fork out to have these units replaced after only 6-7 years old. The HVAC companies should be held responsible for this and stop misleading the consumers, either they register the units or give the owners the option to register it.I do property management and have been using the same HVAC company for years. So all of the owners property that I take care of and have had replacement units, have never been told, nor was any of the warranty papers brought back to my company for me to register them or give to the owners. My other house - we have had that unit in for 20 years and it is still going (not a Goodman unit). I told my HVAC guy and he told me he had not registered them and that it was up to the owners to register them - how can they if they do not know. My complaint is both with Goodman Manufacturing as I am not happy with their products, and the HVAC Company and all the other HVAC companies who do not let the consumers know about the 10 year warranty. Very misleading.

Purchased a Goodman furnace in January 2010 from a building supply company in Steinbach which is about 20 mins out of Winnipeg. I liked the fact that Goodman was offering a 10 year warranty on the parts and 10 year full replacement. We have had nothing but issues with the unit every winter and always seems to be the same issues - a circuit board, sensors, condensation build up and the motor. I had their Goodman account manager in my home last year after I said I wanted the unit out of our house, was told he was going speak to his superior to make sure I was satisfied Toronto and get back to me, that never happened. I never write reviews about products but the word needs to get out that the furnace is not reliable. If you live in area which only requires your furnace periodically then maybe its fine but not in a Canadian climate.

First of all, Im not the type to write a review every time I experience som
First of all, Im not the type to write a review every time I experience something or go on YELP every time I go to a restaurant. Actually this is my first time ever writing a review. But this experience has really gotten under my skin. My Goodman gas furnace went out last Saturday. I am a mechanic by trade and have worked on many RV gas furnaces so of course I checked it out myself. I took the cover off of the unit and figured out in a few minutes that the problem was that the squirrel cage was in a bind. Therefore not able to spin to push hot air through the duct because the cage was laying against the shroud that the motor and cage sits in. And what had caused this was that one of the brackets supporting the motor had broken a weld. Apparently, it had been running this way for a while because the bearings in the motor were shot. So, even if the bracket was rewelded the problem wouldnt be cured because the bearings are shot making the motor shaft tilt which the cage rides on. Therefore the outcome would be the same. So I called Goodman and of course they were closed on weekends. Which is understandable. Monday I called and after getting forwarded to 3 different people I finally reached someone in the warranty department. I gave them the model and serial number and they said that the unit was under warranty because it is only 2 years old. Well, thats good I thought to myself. But, this is the kicker. I explained the problem, which is very simple I thought. But they wouldnt take my word for it. I was told that I had to call a professional that was a Goodman dealer to check it out so they {THE DEALER} could call it in and order the part. So I had to call a heating & air company and pay them a service call and labor just to tell me the same thing that I already knew. That was all done on Monday. Later that day the heating & air company called and told me that the order was placed and ordered. But I would be responsible for the shipping, which I dont agree with. I asked when I should expect the new parts. They said probably Friday. The parts were coming from Texas, which should be a 4 day delivery time, since Im in NC. Meanwhile the temperature is in the 30s cause its January. You would think that they would rush delivery the parts. Its now the following Saturday and still no parts and Im still without heat. I went and bought an electric heater but it only heats one room. Hindsight I would have been better off buying the parts online for less money but Goodman wouldnt give me the part number for the part I need. Now Ive spend $150.00 for the service call and labor and I expect the shipping to be at least $50.00. Not counting the $120.00 electric heater I had to buy. So much for WARRANTY... I am very unsatisfied with the GOODMAN products and even more with the customer service. Needless to say the next house I build will not have anything GOODMAN in it.

I purchased a Goodman unit after doing a lot of research. I am so sorry I spent 6000.00 on this unit. This is the worse purchase of my entire life. I have had 13 services calls replacing coil, motor, condenser and now the compressor. Consumer Affairs are absolutely NO help and frankly they dont give a damn. So it leaves me nothing else but to hire a lawyer and call channel 8 to get some satisfaction. Goodman consumer affairs does not care nor offer to help. I have never received such crappy customer service. Their attitude is too bad so sad. I am a widow living on Social Security and cant afford a new unit. I asked about the lemon law and they thought I was nuts. I requested a New unit and will not even talk about it. I am very disappointed in this piece of garbage. How can you sell people such shabby workmanship? So as I sit in my home in Florida for the 5th night at 10:35 PM it is 88 degrees in my house. It goes as high as 99 degrees and the unit is still NOT fixed and nothing in site. Oh they offered to replace Condenser 10 year warranty BUT I have to pay for installation, parts, and Freon. WHICH IS THOUSANDS money I do NOT have.

The evaporator coil has already started leaking and is being replaced as I write this review. $625 to replace the coil and $75 handling fee from parts warehouse. My service tech tells me I was lucky to get 5 years and that he replaces these coils frequently. He found the leak in 1 minute. I called Goodman (877-254-4729) and they denied problems with their units and did not offer any compensation. Then I got on this website and read the reviews and got even more depressed. So sorry to write this, but want to warn others not to waste their money buying Goodman HVACs. We are a manufacturers dream because we take care of anything we own. Since purchasing our unit in 2017, we have had it maintained by a local HVAC company that took care of a previous unit for 10 years. On June 1, 2019 our AC went out and diagnosis by the HVAC company that does maintenance as having a bad evaporator coil. I looked online and these normally last between 10 to 15 years. Goodman did warranty the part, but the change out and restarting the unit cost more than $2k.

I have a Goodman heat pump that was installed in Dec 2009. It started leaking freon last year. Just 2 pounds. This year it started freezing up. Guess what? Needs more freon and r22 is high. Just found out r22 production will cease in 2016. This unit is leaking like crazy. Called Goodman. They say my unit is out of warranty because it wasnt registered in first 60 days. What? Is this a gimmick? Thought it came with a 10-year warranty. Seems like a easy way for them to get out of warranty for their products.Ive had cheap Walmart window units last longer than this piece of junk and way cheaper. I found a new a-coil for sale on internet for 500 bucks but found out it might leak when installed new. The a/c company said they would install one for 1500$. Are you kidding. This unit is out of warranty 6 months. Would have been better off paying extra for something better. Overall this will cost me much more in the long run. Goodman customer service is terrible as the guy there just kept saying to call one of their dealers. In my opinion Goodman needs to go out of business or do whats right and fix these faulty units.

Unit was installed horizontally in attic and installers didnt know that when unit is installed this way condensation builds up in tube which wont allow heat to start up.Their employees are totally incompetent since they never glued PVC vent and exhaust piping through roof. Primed but never glued. Stick a piece of pipe in and thats done. Crooked coming out the roof, which I had to have repaired with the unglued pieces of pipe. Im afraid to check and see if they at least glued the pipe that holds condensation as that will eventually leak in time if that was also improperly installed. Now I had to have flame sensor replaced and unit is only 3 years old. Goodbye to Mensers Heating and Cooling and Goodman products.

Data input error perhaps or did this happen when they cut over to a new system? Found out they did put in a new system but dont know when.Spoke to a male CSR rude and abrasive refused to let me talk to a supervisor but finally caved in. Spoke to Hema and she stated they had the serial # for the heat pump but no air handler so no warranty on the handler. Told her I called and mailed in the warranty card then was told they do the data input and then the cards are thrown away. My word against theirs? I thought the customers was always right? So much for that theory! I have called several times after that, no return calls. Theres a surprise! Although Hema was helpful but still no warranty.I like the unit and have very little problems with it until the leak, and now the warranty. What is the point of having a warranty and then not to honor it? So now they think I will get stuck with the bill... wrong! Got things to do and people to speak to about the warranty issue. This is just bad P/R on their behalf and I am sorry they are taking that stand. Will I buy another Goodman unit? Maybe not because of this warranty issue.

After having a Goodman furnace installed in my home 7 years ago, I recently had to spend $1000 on repairs. The main blower wheel began to make noise and was found to have cracked welds where the fins attach to the end plate. While the Tech was there he noticed the Combustion Blower was also noisy and dragging. He thought it might last a little longer, but I elected to replace it then as well. Since the furnace was just out of warranty, the cost for the two parts was almost $800. I have seen other complaints regarding Goodman Furnaces and must agree, they are substandard. The initial cost was low, and the unit seems to be efficient, but long term durability is poor. I have heard others say Goodmans are fine for a home you dont intend to keep. Ditto That!

If I could rebuild my house and choose a better heating system - I would. Goodman is absolutely terrible! Had our home for 3 years and had 3 major repairs done on the unit. Whats really frustrating is the lack of parts. Whoopie - the parts are under warranty. However, labor is still outrageous and it take 3 - 5 weeks to get the part! Unexplainable! This has happened 3 different times now. It is now 16 degrees outside and we have been without a heater for 3 weeks. This type of support - or lack of support is criminal!

Brought a unit from Goodman on 3/7/17. Installed the unit for my customer on 3/9/17. On 3/11/17 they had to evacuate from their home because of the smell because the heat exchanger is bad. Also the children got sick and the parents got headaches and had them for 3 days. Goodman said they couldnt give us a new heater and the homeowner no longer wants this furnace in their home. They do not want no tech from Goodman at their home. They want to be reimbursed. The Manager Michael ** was the most unsympathetic person I dealt with in my life. Instead of just reimbursing the homeowner he is making it difficult for them. He wants us to pay a tech from Goodman to deem it bad when we purchase the unit not even a week ago. I will never recommend Goodman to any of my customers and homeowners and I have been doing heating for over 25 years and I know what I am talking about. Do not purchase a heater from Goodman. They didnt care about children getting sick and they had the homeowners without heat for 5 days and will not reimburse them with their money. I am appalled they only care about one thing taking money from customers. They didnt try to help at all. You will never see our business again. I also suggest to you Michael ** learn how to be a manager the way you handle this situation is uncalled for.

I closed on my home May 2014 and purchased your product Model: GSZ13421AG Serial:1403135510. This product is almost new and only 2 years old. It has been determined that it has a faulty piece. I feel as if I have no recourse and am stuck with this faulty product. The air conditioner is defectively designed and cracked resulting in it leaking refrigerant, thus making my unit entirely inoperable unless I pay 750.00 total. As a result, my electric bill has increased because while the unit was leaking, it required more power for adequate cooking. Because the leakage of the refrigerant from the evaporator coil left my unit completely ineffective, I am forced to pay 750.00 in total repairs to address the problem fully which will take 2 weeks.Worse, today I had to pay 79.00 for a leak search out of my pocket to determine why your product is not functioning as promised by your company. I had to pay 75.00 for the visit and 190.00 for refrigerant. Worse, I have to pay 425.00 in labor next week to have your item repaired, the bill is at 750.00 plus at this point. I am outraged. This is ridiculous. Im told that it is tough and I should pay or my house will be hot.

I purchased a heat pump in 11/2011 and then started to have a lot of problems in 2015. It was noisy running also. Then on 5/15 was my 1st service call and they found a hole in the coil which leaked freon. Had to be repaired and added freon. Then 4/2016 it stopped working completely. Another service call and they had to replace the compressor and defrost control unit. At least they were under warranty, but I had to pay for service call and freon. Thats not cheap either. On July 8 warm air came thru vents. Serviceman had to add more freon and changed the schraders. More money. This lasted a week and back to warm air again. Another call another hole in coil and more freon. This lasted a month so now its Aug. 2016 and Im sitting here in my house with temp of 95 and outside temp of 98. I have so much money out for service calls and freon, that Ive decided that I am going to have to buy a new heat pump when this one isnt even 5 yrs. old. But with all the money going for repairs, I could have put in a new one. I trusted the dealer for the quality of Goodman products, but since all these troubles Ive read all the unsatisfactory notations and Im adding to it. In fact the customer service girl at Goodman hung up on me when I told her I would never recommend this company to anyone. Hows that for rude employees!! I would like to get some of my money back if its possible. I wrote to Goodman asking for this, but I doubt if I will because they dont care. They dont even make my model anymore, so it must have been bad to begin with. I hope other people read the reviews about Goodman before they purchase anything and dont buy from them. I am a licensed HVAC/R contractor who has been in the field for 30+ years who installs all makes and models. These last two years selling Goodman products has been very very stressful. In particular the build quality is super cheap and flimsy and their quality control is extremely poor. Ive installed 30 gas furnaces in the last year and 10 of them all had wiring issues such as Molex plugs with uncrimped connections. The wires were not even stripped back and also the female spade terminals were poorly attached causing me to waste my time to fix their poorly assembled units. The last straw was I installed a brand new 80000 BTU 92% furnace for a very good customer of mine and it hasnt worked right since it had been installed. Now mind you this is not any fault of installation but fault of Goodman instead. The gas valve was dead on arrival so I thought, Ah. No big deal. Ill just go ahead and replace the gas valve. Things happen, I thought to my self. Well, in goes the new gas valve still not operating so then Im looking at a new replacement circuit board and now Im furious and the customers not too happy either. So go the new board installed. Didnt fix the issue either. Now Im fighting with customer service who is useless by the way and unwilling to help me resolve the issues. The customer service manager was dodging my phone calls and wouldnt return any of my calls. I didnt want an unhappy customer and wanted them to have heat so I removed that pile of junk and put in a New York furnace. Fired up beautifully. No problems and now the customers happy. But Ill tell you Im happy that the customers happy but Im not happy with Goodman. Please whoever reads this refuse Goodman products. They suck. They dont care about you or me and they are not cheap to buy either. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality brand and not this cheaply made trash. It made me look bad to the customer installing a brand new unit that should have had zero problems but ended up hurting me financially as I had to buy the customer a new furnace because they wouldnt help or even refund me for this defective unit. Hopefully they go out of business selling shoddy equipment to us honest hardworking Americans like us. I will never recommend or sell Goodman ever again and will spread the word. Have a blessed day.

On 6/7/19, my 11 year old Goodman Furnace had a near catastrophic overheating which melted the main control board and ruined the entire interior of the furnace with a putrid smelling black carbon dust. After sending photographs and a detailed report from the professional installer, who has only seen such a near fire twice in his 30 year career, I was told by Senior Management, “There is nothing we can do since you are 12 months out of warranty”!After discovering that Goodman had underreported major fire issues with other products in the past and was fined by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, I have decided that I want nothing to do with this company and their utter dismissal of my complaint and request for some assistance with a completely unreasonable $4,000 expense. This highly dangerous and unusual failure of a product without any company empathy or concern, after a vigorous outreach on my part, warrants this review and a refusal for anyone who is considering putting their lives in this company’s hands, to enrich this multi-billion dollar company any further.

Goodman refused to honor their extended warranty on my furnace on a known defect, stating that the Service Provider must be approved by the Goodman Extended Service Department; and not every authorized Goodman Dealer carries this authorization status. Like other reviews regarding Goodman on this website, the Consumer must make informed decisions not just based on the words in the Goodman contracts, but based on other Consumers experience as well. The devil is in the details when dealing with Goodman. Not a great way to build Consumer trust, but this is Goodmans prerogative to govern their business as they choose and to the sole benefit of Goodman; not the Consumer. BUYER BE VERY AWARE.

I purchased a Goodman ductless mini split heat pump. It was installed by a professional installer. The compressor stopped working after about 5 years and 2 months. Assuming the unit had a 10 year warranty, I contacted the company. Upon doing so, the customer seemed to enjoy telling me that the unit only had a 5 year warranty. I then attempted to contact a company to repair the unit, and found it difficult to find a company that worked on the Goodman brand. I was advised that Goodman was not a good unit and it would be less expensive to replace it with a Mitsubishi unit, which I intend to do. I will never do business with Goodman again.

In 2011, I had two Goodman split units (upstairs and downstairs) installed. With minor parts calls, for the most part they have worked OK. I purchased Goodman Goodcare Extended Warranties (10 year) coverage on parts and labor. It is Oct 2019 (8 years of operation) and the main floor outside unit 3.5 ton unit compressor failed. The largest HVAC vendor (also a Goodman dealer) in the area will only cover the parts but not honor the labor warranty. The answer back is that Goodman is either slow or never reimburses the dealers/vendors on labor and so the vendors wont honor it. I called Goodman for other HVAC vendors to call. From the list they provided of vendors, two are no longer in business, and the other says they will not honor the labor warranty either. :(

I purchased an HVAC system in 2013, which broke before it was even 2 years old! The repairman mentioned that he had to completely refill the refrigerant because it had all leaked out. He said that it leaked out because the units factory weld joint was faulty, causing the refrigerant to leak out. He mentioned that this absolutely should not happen to a system that is this new. He mentioned that I should contact Goodman for reimbursement. I contacted customer service, who asked that I submit a letter with the serial number of the unit and a copy of the repair bill for reimbursement. I received a reply via letter, which was very obviously a canned response, telling me the same thing I was told on the phone, that the warranty does not cover refrigerant, labor, etc. Only parts. The company stated in the letter, It is impossible to predict the life of any one part. That tells me that the design, test, and quality assurance divisions are severely lacking. Goodman obviously does not care about its products or customers. Im still waiting on a return call from customer service.

We have called Goodman and they say, the parts are under warranty but we are responsible for the labor to repair these parts. I have asked that extend our warranty or replace the unit. Last year, I bought a house that recently had a Goodman heat pump installed shortly before my purchase. Recently, I discovered the contractor had not installed the unit per Goodmans guidelines. I called them up to see if the installation was still acceptable, despite not being per their guidelines, or if I should talk to the contractor about re-doing it. I figured that if Goodman said it is acceptable, then I would drop the matter; if Goodman said it isnt acceptable, I would have more leverage in asking the work to be re-done.As a homeowner, they refused to talk to me; they said to talk to a Goodman installer. I told them my problem was with an installer, so how could I be sure that another installer would give good advice. (I am a retired HVAC engineer, so I would understand whatever technical advice they gave.) I can understand them wanting to be careful what they say, and refer many questions to an installer, since most people dont understand HVAC, but my question is a simple one, Is the installation acceptable as-is? With this kind of support, no, I will not buy a Goodman unit.

But no customer should have to spend that much money on a heat pump that was purchased new. I believe Goodman Manufacturing has junk heat pumps and I recommend anyone looking to buy a new unit to look at the other manufacturer. Also make sure it is a sister brand name to Goodman. I have read so many bad reviews and all I can say is I have been installing Goodman units since 2008 and have yet to have one fail. I would put a Goodman up against any brand. Dollar for dollar and dependability you cant beat it. I have had 2 units where ants made a home in the contactor, but thats the only times I have had to replace any, and I mean any part on a Goodman unit. Goodman also has a solid alum. Evap. Coil, nothing to rust out like other brands have a MILD steel end plates that after 10-15 years of service with it being wet from condensation will rust and cause the copper loops to have pinhole leaks that is impossible to fix. Goodman, Amana, Daikin are all the same company and is the largest HVAC company in the entire world. They didnt get that way from building bad and undependable equipment. They build good quality equipment, maybe its the installer, and not the equipment, because as I have said in the last 9 years of steadily installing Goodman, not one has failed.

Then we turned off the power and turned it on and the furnace worked. We have been doing this for a couple of years. It is the only way we can heat the house. Is there anybody in Beaverton who could make this unit run like it should?

When we bought our house, we thought getting a new AC would be a good idea. The old one hadnt been properly maintained and summer was approaching. We had a new outside unit installed, plus new furnace (gas), and air handler. Everything worked great for the first two summers. The 16 SEER unit did a good job keeping up with the blazing Georgia heat, and our electrical bill wasnt too bad. 20 months after it was installed, the motor failed on the outside unit. The compressor was running, but the fan wouldnt turn.I just had the guy out from the company that installed it, and he verified its the motor. So, I now have to wait for a new motor to ship and then be replaced. In all, this is going to cost me $350 in shipping and labor (yes, Im paying shipping, too). It was good while it lasted, but, talk about buyers remorse. This will definitely be my last Goodman product. That includes anything from Daikin (Amana, for example). You lost my business.

I have an Amana furnace that just had the heat exchanger fail. It was letting life threatening amounts of CO into our home. It was still under warranty. My HVAC contractor contacted the distributor who said the exchanger was no longer made but offered a replacement Goodman. I was advised by contractor to ask for an Amana because Goodman heat exchangers do not last in Propane service. I offered to pay any price difference. The distributor said he would have to call the factory and get back to me in 2 days. I advised him I was without heat at 18F. He said he would call back with an answer the next morning. Never received a call so I called back at the end of the day. He was rude and put off and told me, I guess you should have just taken the Goodman. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he refused. I have since called Goodman directly 2 times and have just been given the run around. You can only speak with a random operator who just takes some your information and you never hear back from anyone. It has been 1 week with no answers and still no heat. Thanks Goodman for a substandard product and the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

In 2009, I built a new house and it was finished about August of 2010. I bought a Goodman whole home system, which had an air conditioning unit, a furnace, and the inside air conditioning unit in February of 2010. Since I have had it installed by professionals, I have had nothing but trouble. The outside air conditioning unit turns on very loud and when it gets to normal speed, the fan will jolt really hard and you will hear a really loud grinding noise. This has happened since about September of 2010. We have had 3 service calls out to our house and all of them said that it needed freon or there was a fan issue. We didnt have the money for them to take it apart and find something wrong to cost even more money, so we left it alone. It still does that grinding every time it runs. Then, yesterday (9/5/2015) the outside unit was making a weird noise and the inside unit was not blowing any air into the vents of the house. The inside unit was also make a whining sound, so I shut the whole system off and went back to check it out. The pipe that goes from the outside unit to the inside unit had ice build-up all over it. I let it thaw for an hour and turned it on again to see what it would do. The outside unit will turn on fine, (still makes that grinding noise) but the inside unit will not turn on at all, so it will not blow any air to the vents. I tripped the breakers to the system to see if it would reset, and now the outside unit will not turn on at all!We called our local place to have them look at it this morning (9/6/2015). They got the outside unit working but found out that the fan for the inside unit is burned up and they dont have it in stock. If they cant fix this, I am just going to rip the whole system out and put in a Carrier or a Trane system. I cant believe a company would do this to people. Take their money and then right after the warranty expires, the whole system goes down. UNBELIEVABLE!!

Our house has two HVAC units. Had both air conditioners replaced just under two years ago. The coil from the bigger unit cracked, and all the refrigerant leaked out. The warranty covered the part, the cheapest item of the repair. The warranty did NOT cover the labor or the $1500 worth of refrigerant that leaked. What a gyp. Its not like we did anything out of character. We paid a certified installer to install a new unit. Air conditioners use refrigerant. If the unit breaks, the refrigerant leaks out. This should be covered. The treatment from Goodman (also known as Diakin) is that if you pay to have brakes installed on your car, and the brakes fail causing your car to get totaled, Goodman will pay for new brakes, but not to have them installed, or to have the car repaired or replaced, saying were terribly sorry our brakes failed, but the rest of the car, well, thats just incidental, we wont cover you, thats on you. This gets worse. I posted a review on their website. They emailed me asking for more information. They emailed me back asking me to call. I called. They found my warranty, but had no idea why I was told to call. The lady said it must have been our media team. And that was it! Oh yeah, I checked, they removed my negative review from their website. On top of that, they obviously manipulate their reviews. In addition to removing mine, they left another review that gave one star, but talked about how Goodman made the best unit every. Cant even own up to their mistakes. I will not make the mistake with Goodman again. Our furnaces are probably going to go in the next few years, certainly will avoid Goodman and Diakin.

Ive never had so many problems with a furnace in my life. I have a Goodman furnace with a Goodman heat pump. I think it was a real shabby install. Even though the problems may all be related to his install, he wants paid for the service call plus mileage each time. His business is in Miles City, Montana, that is 75 miles from here. I think they should have to replace the heat pump because of the many times it has cycled trying to start. It should be worn out by now. The last time they put in the wrong freon. I wonder what damage it is doing to the rest of the appliances. Every time it cycles it draws current away from my well pump, refrigerator, etc.

I purchased a Goodman heat pump GPH1360H41BC (sn: 1208655671) in 2012 from a local dealer by my AC tech. It worked ok at first except for low freon. This year I began having problems. First a capacitor, then the fan motor. A month later I was told the coil had a leak and tech replaced 5 lbs freon at $30/lb plus labor. I was quoted 11 lbs of freon at $30/lb plus 3 hrs labor for a total of about $900 for a new coil. Coil was under warranty but labor and freon isnt. Those are the biggest cost on the problem. Why should we have to pay for freon that escaped as a result of a faulty coil?A week later the new coil arrived and will be installed tomorrow. Now I find out there are many problems with Goodman products. I am a widow on social security and cannot afford costly repair bills. My tech tells me they do not install these anymore. Im also afraid that my son who purchased one a year or so ago will also start having problems. Made in China products are no good. Please stop selling these.

I live in the NW and had my old unit replaced 6-2020 with a Goodman unit. The unit ran fine but was air only we have gas heat. So that said it only ran for app. 20 day in 2020. This year as temperatures rose in late June it started running for an additional 7 day then died completely by July 16th. That means this unit actually only lasted new for 37 days of A/C service. If it was a heat pump unit delivering heat that would have likely only lasted 1 month. That cost over 2500.00 for one months usage! No one wants to work on it. Just charge over 200.00 to diagnose the compressor is junk. We are left to suit the dealer who claimed 12 year parts & service extended Warranty on our contract in writing, and buy a real A/C unit that will last.Over 30 days usage. At my last home I sold in 2017 we put in a unit in 1997 upon our purchasing the home. It was a heat pump running all summer & winter. When we sold the home it still ran flawlessly 20 years later! Goodman should cease selling such cheap, undependable garbage to unsuspecting customer by shady dealers.

We have 2 three-yr-old air conditioning systems. On 8/23, one unit stopped working. We called for service hoping to get the system up & running without paying a lot of money & since the unit is still fairly new, we prayed that parts would still be covered under the manufacture. No such luck. We were told that we had to replace an E-Z trap, $177.00, a Safety T, $199.00. We were charged for a tune up $155.00, a diagnostic fee $99.00, an Indoor Coil (still covered under warranty) but with labor & other charges, it cost $809.00, a Coolant R-410A $69.00. The other system made an extremely loud noise while running so we had them to check that system as well and were told it needed a condenser fan motor, $209.00. We moved into our new home on 4/15/10. I cant image why so many problems would be happening to these systems so soon. When I reached out to Goodman to make them aware of what was going on, of course I was asked if we had an extended warranty (wish we had been told about that early on). Their only suggestion was to have the company making repairs to contact distributor for Goodman so that a field tech specialist can come out with company making repairs and make an assessment to see whats going on with the system. I am very upset that we had to spend so much money on these systems so soon and I hope Goodman will stand behind their reputation.

Brand new system has had problems from the start. Multiple repairs have been attempted to remedy an unacceptable noise. Still sounds like a washing machine on spin cycle, which everyone agrees is unacceptable, but nobody can diagnose or fix. Further, the unit leaks a rusty fluid into the pan, and there is condensation/corrosion in the supply plenum which the installer said should never leak.

This heat pump was installed when my new house was built in May 2010. In January 2011 it required piston replacement when it stopped heating the home. Then in June 2012 it required a replacement of the indoor evaporator coil when it stopped producing A/C. Then in June 2014 it required replacement of the outdoor evaporator coil when it stopped producing A/C. So in the first 4 years, it has required 3 major repairs. Sure, Goodman provides a 5-year warranty on all parts. But my most recent repair still cost over $1,000 for the labor and refrigerant. (The refrigerant is NOT included in the warranty, and that alone cost more than $600 this time.) I complained to Goodman, who told me I should have paid for the additional labor warranty as well. I suppose if you insist on buying a Goodman heat pump, then I would recommend the full labor warranty. But any person with half a brain should simply choose a heat pump from a company that is NOT widely recognized as the worst in the business (seriously, check any 3rd party review site). I will never be a Goodman customer again.

We purchased a complete Goodman system from our HVAC company just a little over 5 years ago. It has already had a total system failure twice. The first time, the part had to be ordered and took about a week to get. This time, the blower has failed, and has to be replaced. The expected time is 2 weeks with no system. I cant believe at only 5 years, 2 major components fail. We live in a metro area of over 1,000,000 people, I dont know why parts are not readily available? That must be a sign of the volume of sales they have. In our opinion, these are very very low quality. No decent system would have 2 complete system failures at 5 years. And to think that a blower motor would fail at 5 years is a clear sign of the poor quality workmanship.

I have had nothing but problems with the unit and I purchased the 10 - 10 - 10 year warranty on the unit. Even though you have the warranty, the refrigerant is not covered and you are responsible for adding it - also you have to pay the service calls to get the unit checked. On 6-22-2010 the compressor went out and a new one was installed. On 8-9-11 the blower motor went out and was replaced. On 6-3-2014 the evaporator coil had to be replaced. On 2-23-15 the condenser coil was leaking and has to be replaced - found out to get a new condenser coil would be 7-14 days, because there was not one in the state of Florida. Bought Goodman. Never again. 2 burnt blower motors and now a defective evaporator coil and on top of that my installer said it’s all warrantied through Goodman for 10 years but now Goodman says they will not warranty the units for 10 years; only 5 because a form was not filed within 90 days from install. This is bull. It’s because they are in a class action lawsuit about having lot and lots of defective coils and so theyre trying to get out of covering their 10 year warranty on a technicality and because they know their stuff will only last for 5 year and now turning the blame on homeowners for their installing company negligence in not filing their paperwork timely by saying, Oh that’s the homeowners responsibility to file the warranty paperwork and if they don’t we will penalize them for our defective products.Let’s face it. Paperwork or not it should not affect the warranty. If their stuff was built right from the beginning and they felt a 10 year warranty was proper then filing a form should not matter. It does not change the MFG date or the install date or the way they make their products. They have not heard the last from me. This is just a start.Buy Trane not Goodman and save your self lots of headaches. Dealing with Goodman’s customers service is a joke just a headache. I’m not asking for labor charges or the 10 lbs of Freon that was lost due to their defective coils just to stand behind their 10 year policy and provide the parts to replace their known bad inferior parts for the 10 year period they promised. If youre looking for HVAC work do your homework. Check out the net for all the people having issues with Goodman then buy something else more reliable like American Standard or Trane. I wish I did.

I purchased the extended warranty through our local One Hour Heating and Air (now out of business). This covered a total replacement installation in 2009 of: a Furnace/Coil downstairs; heat pump/air handler unit upstairs; two outdoor units. Evaporator coil sprung a leak last week and I checked my warranty online and on the phone w/ Goodman and they confirmed my coverage for parts and labor. Called one of their authorized Asure techs and he came out and told me the coil wasnt covered.Everything (all serial numbers for furnace, heat pump/air handler, two outdoor units) was covered and registered EXCEPT, they had no record of the serial number for the coil. They all start with similar #s (0905, 1001) yet that one serial number for the coil isnt among what they have. Im beyond angry, especially after reading that thats the part that may have been defective upon install!! *sigh* They said the only recourse I had was to present them with a RECEIPT from 2009 showing that coil on there! After confirming the furnace was covered online, I didnt even consider keeping the receipt. Lesson learned there, I suppose. I will be calling them back today and try and dig a bit deeper. This is ridiculous.

They even called one service technician and said I wasnt happy with him, when the fact of the matter was he could not figure out what was wrong! The unit would run continually all day long with the thermostat on 73 and the outside temp was 83 degrees! I have finally found that the original compressor was a 19000 BTUs and the sensible BTUs rating was rated at 18000, which several HVAC techs said that was a 1/2 ton difference and would not work! Let this be a warning to anyone contemplating a Goodman Manufacturing product. They do not properly stand by their work. Beware.

In 2009, nearing the finish line of my post-Hurricane Katrina rebuild, I had two new Amana HVAC heat pumps installed. Less than 2 years later, one started malfunctioning and I was told the coils had a leak. Second opinion said no, but the problem persisted as the coolant apparently did leak out over time. Last year, the coils on the downstairs unit appeared to have a leak. I have a parts warranty but the labor runs between $800-$1000 per unit. I called Amana, unaware that this was a common problem, and the customer service rep could just have well sent me a picture of her middle finger with the attitude and complete lack of concern she showed. I guess the volume of complaints had her on edge. I did a lot of research before I bought these units and I had faith in the company. I never would have imagined I would have this much trouble in such a short period of time, as my old units had been in service for at least the 17 years since Id bought the house with only minor repairs, never coils or compressors. Ive been screwed by just about every contractor that set foot in my house but was happy to find a good HVAC company that didnt screw me on service, but the product is just BAD. I cant believe Goodman/Amana doesnt care enough about its reputation to address its customers concerns. Theyve changed their policies about it several times from what I can discern and now theres a class action suit against them. I teach marketing at a university and would love to give them some lessons because theyre in serious need. Bad moves, Goodman. Many bad moves. Im reluctant to pursue a class action suit because their lawyers will make millions and Ill get something like a $100 voucher, but maybe a private suit is in order. At the very least, I should contact the FTC.

I was sold this Goodman Air Conditioner by Four Seasons heating & Air in Port Charlotte, FL. I have only had two years of use and after it wasnt blowing cold air I called 4 Seasons and in five minutes of inspection was told the compressor had blown out. They told me that despite the poor service of this unit, only parts were covered and they would charge $800 for the labor to reinstall these defective parts. I am 80 years old, live in Florida and will have had no air conditioning in 90% heat for at least three days. This product was defective. I have been a homeowner for 50 years and have never had less than five years wear from any air conditioner. Goodman needs to be investigated.
