I bought the stove in late August 2021, first call for service in September, November repair replacing 2 burners, gas jets, module, cover, ignition. One week later 2 burners not working, small oven not working. Large oven not heating evenly. Where I bought it said call Thermador customer service and request a new stove. Called Thermador, got a case number, supplied all info, received an email saying I need a tech to diagnose that it is not operating properly -- da dude! No techs in Vermont are even returning calls, the store I brought it from says Thermador responds to customers. Not them. Wow $12 --!3,000.00 for a new stove that is 3 months old and this is the service one receives. !!!Dont Do It. Buy Something Else!!! Terrible! Nothing good to say about this stove, the service and the company.

I guess Im lucky. I havent had a disaster with our convection double oven. We bought ours, used about 6 years ago, from a house that was being gutted and remodeled. It was a 95 model and I was thrilled to be getting an updated, and convection oven. Now, Im nervous about keeping it and having something disastrous happen from all of these other posts. I was only trying to find a replacement knob and was frustrated at not being able to find one since they are no longer manufactured. Our oven was very difficult to install. My husband and father were able to cut the holes into the attic and vent it properly, but it has never cooked evenly, even using convection, and it always takes 30-45 minutes longer to cook anything like casseroles or meatloaf, anything denser.

Were on our second Thermador. The first one died several Thanksgivings ago, after several repairs in its first year. After much complaining to Thermador corporate, they agreed to sell us a new oven at a steep discount. I was sick of dealing with this thing, so I went for it. The discount was not steep enough, as now the new one isnt working either. The oven wont turn on. The fan comes on, we smell gas, but no heat (oh, and the light has been stuck on since a few weeks after purchase and the stove top burners have a habit of randomly firing the igniters, even when the stove is off). Absolute piece of crap! We were fooled by the neat looking speedometer thermometer, but you shouldnt be. These stoves suck, steer clear!

Thermador double oven ME302JS, Refrigerator T36BB810SS - We purchased a suite of appliances including a fridge, range top, double oven, and dishwasher. The double ovens function just fine. However they buzz very, very loudly. Service has been to our house four times to either diagnose or attempt a repair to no avail. The service techs have been pleasant to work with and I appreciate their efforts as they have expressed genuine frustration. They have also expressed frustration with Bosch as they havent been helpful to find a solution. The fridge suffers from a slow ice maker. After 24 hrs, the bin is only about two inches deep of ice. The motor was replaced, no success. Bosch told the techs to lower the temp from zero to -4. That didnt work either. The techs have asked for further help from a Bosch area rep on both issues but they havent been forthcoming. Ive also sought help from the store who sold us the appliances. They forwarded my video of the noise to Bosch personnel, but they havent responded either. My patience has run out. If Bosch was responsive and helpful with a solution, this review would be more positive.

When we remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago we purchased Thermador appliances
When we remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago we purchased Thermador appliances - 2 ovens, an induction stovetop, and a dishwasher. I called for repairs on the ovens right away. They did not cook to temperature. Sometimes it takes me twice as long to cook a recipe. When making cookies and the recipe say 12 minutes, I set the trimmer for 16. When the repair man got there he told me that I needed to learn to cook again and that the times on recipes were not right. I told him that if an oven cooked to temp, then if they say it is done in 30 minutes, then it should be. I was told that, This is the way German engineers wanted it. I guess they do not want their appliance to work accurately. So we called the factory show room in Burlingame and attended their cooking class. I kept asking them about my problem with the ovens not being on temp. There I was told that I needed to look up on a chart the weight of our food and what type of food it is to determine the cooking time and temp. I was told to never just turn the oven on but to always use the fast preheating setting. This is hog-wash. To this day my ovens do not cook to temp and baking anything is a gamble. I have been very disappointed with my Thermador ovens.

Great if they work-HORRIBLE SERVICE IF THEY DONT. I recently purchased 33k worth of Thermador appliances from Ferguson. I took delivery of the appliances and just had the 12k+ range installed. I am in the middle of my move and eager to be settled. It is defective and I tried calling your service line. After being on hold over 25 minutes Teresa answered the line and was brusque in manner. She informed me that I could wait until September 22 for service. That is quite a distance away, so I asked for an alternative. She said I could call one other authorized service technician in the Los Angeles area that is permitted to service your brand. I am unfamiliar with this process so I asked if it is I that would call, and if your company would be taking care of the payment, and she replied “if you would let me finish I would tell you”. I was merely asking about the process. SO rude. I thought you were meant to be a luxury brand.Certainly your call center missed the service piece of that experience. I said that I was “trying to get clear about the process and that she needn’t be rude about it- that I was unfamiliar with this process as I had not done it before”. Teresa curtly answered that if I didn’t like her manner that she would turn me over to another agent and before I could protest she promptly hung up on me. I am frankly appalled and I plan on putting this company on blast all over the internet for the lack of service, and ridiculous treatment.I have an expensive product that is defective, am in the middle of a move, and am merely trying to get something fixed. Now I have to spend additional hours chasing this down while working full time and attending to various other obligations. I would hope to get some assistance. Based on our experience, changing the one-year warranty to five years would be the only way we would recommend Thermador. You will read in my post what was under the one-year warranty, which is not sufficient. We purchased a refrigerator, stove and vent hood, dishwasher, under the counter double drawer refrigerator, and double drawer refrigerator top/freezer bottom, all purchased between 2017 - 2019. The vent hood motor, installed in 2017, has been replaced twice—one under warranty and one we just bought last week (11/2020) for $400++. The refrigerator replacement parts are drawer rollers, freezer drawer latch (not warrantied), and icemaker sensor was replaced under warranty. The double drawer refrigerator/freezer ice maker was not working when delivered in September of 2019, replaced under warranty. Currently, the dishwasher has a high pitch sound when you start it and only runs on the auto setting. All other wash settings do not run. Due to COVID, income loss, and out of warranty, we havent addressed this issue. Vent hood labels have all worn off, and if liquid splatters on the stovetop while cooking, mostly burn on the surface. Yes, a removable cover would be great, as mentioned in another post. How about one for the oven? Remember, all issues happen between 2017 and 2020; three years!

This dishwasher has such a foul odor that you dont want to open it to put in the dishes. We were away for three weeks so it was empty. We just got back home, opened up the dishwasher and it smells with nothing in it!!!! When we put our dishes in, theyre already rinsed off! I even soaked up the water that lays in the drain in the bottom of the dishwasher and made no difference. Thermador did replace it once for me with the same model and no difference. We had a plumber here and he said hook up was correct. Thermador rep came out and had no answer for the foul odor! What do we do? Were at a loss!

We had our kitchen completely renovated in 2007. We installed a complete spectrum of Thermador products: Pro Grand Dual fuel range, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, warming drawer and wall oven. This week, we will have our eighth repair visit. The range (4x) has been worst but the MW and the refrigerator have also failed. The failures have been the same as the other ones listed below, including the side oven heating element explosion. Do not buy Thermador. Interestingly, my detailed email complaint bounced back to me today as undeliverable, yet I got the regional managers name and address on the Thermador website an hour earlier.

My range is 4 years old. Finally called Thermador directly and they confirmed what the repair person told me. Once you turn the oven to a certain temperature you cannot adjust it, no turning down that pie thats been in for 15 minutes. You have to turn the oven off and let it cool down. And you cant leave the oven door open or else youll burn out the board that sits at the top of the opening. BIG PROBLEM for me. Cant believe that my $7000 stove doesnt have this feature. Love the burners though.

We purchased the extended warranty for our Thermador range. The oven has stopped working on three separate occasions in the last 10 months. My contract clearly states that they will replace the item if it fails three times within a 12-month period (Lemon Policy). They are refusing to replace and are going to attempt to repair it again. The first time it went out (December), it was done for 6 weeks. Then, it went out again in March. And now it stopped working again 2 weeks ago.

We purchased a Thermador convection 30 inch built in microwave double oven
We purchased a Thermador convection 30 inch built in microwave double oven when we did a complete remodel of our home back in 2001. The microwave broke the first day we used it. Broken glass ended up in my food. Service people replaced the glass, which subsequently broke again the second time we used the upper microwave. I was then informed by Thermador that the microwave actually was not meant to cook the food but just to keep it warm. I did not bother to fix the microwave again. The convection oven never worked welI. We tried multiple times and the food did not cook completely. The upper oven door is very heavy due to the combo microwave feature. The doors have broken three times over the years. We have replaced the hinges twice times since 2001: Once in Feb 2008 and again in Jan. 2014. We were informed by an independent service man that the Thermador hinges are defective and that the company has known about this for years but has failed to inform the consumer. The new hinges that I just purchased apparently are the same defective hinges that I purchased prior. The company has made better hinges because the doors are too heavy, but they do not sell these to consumers. All I asked Thermador was to replace the defective hinges with the improved version but they refused. When our oven broke on New Years Eve, we had a house full of guests. Our oven was 350 degrees and would not close would not close, and it was a hazard to our guests. Our neighbors helped us tie up the oven with rope to keep it from burning the children. We feel strongly that the Thermador oven is an inferior product.

I have a 36” gas/gas convection oven. It’s almost 4 years old. Bought it from ABT in Glenview Il. The bake setting never worked. I had service at least 4 times. I was told to get use to it. That’s how this oven works. If the oven is used for long time the temperature drops. I was told to do the biscuits test. When I send them the picture they told me that I used the wrong rack... Every time there was another excuse. PLEASE don’t get stuck with this oven. Customer service is terrible and their product even worse.

It was a good size for me because I live alone, but if you have family members I recommend a bigger one. However I found it useful and very spacious for my personal needs. It worked fine like any other freezer. The ice machine worked just fine as well and I never had any issues with it. Overall it was perfect for me. I do not care much for the way a freezer looks. The freezer though went perfectly with my kitchen and fit just right with the counter tops. I believe I paid a fair price for it. I also thought that for how long it lasted that it was worth the price and the time it took to install it.

I bought a Thermador refrigerator (T360T810NS) in August 2014. It cost almost $8000.00. As other reviews have stated, it is noisier than I would have liked but that was tolerable. However, in May, 2019 (less than 5 years of service), the temperature sensor for the ice maker went out and had to be replaced ($420.00). Then it was determined that it was not the problem. It would have cost me another $500 to figure out what it was so I decided not to fix it. However, my major disappointment is in the response from Thermador when I tried to contact them. The people on the telephone were nice and did provide an email address after I waited over a month to get a response from the contact email on the website and after other calls. I sent that email over a month and havent heard a word and it did not bounce back. For high end appliances, they should have better consumer service. I will not buy another Thermador product.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2016 and spent a small fortune on what we believed to be high end appliances with Thermador. The Thermador range/steam oven combo is a piece of junk! Thermador replaced the first one within a year because we had so many problems and now the current one we are on our 6th major repair in 5 years! The current repair - replacing the convention motor for the second time - has taken us over 2 months to get completed...and we are still waiting (theyve cancelled our appointment twice by not showing up). TO say I am disappointed in the Thermador Freezer and Fridge would be a understatement. This is a unit that is supposed to be on the same quality level as Sub-Zero and Wolf.... IT IS NOT!! The freezer is 50% icemaker. Meaning that unlike any other, the freezer space is 50% consumed by the Icemaker unit. The ice maker unit is the poorest, worse functioning that I have ever experienced! It clogs most every time used. It produces ice at such a slow rate. Most days by 2 pm it is out of ice. The quality of this very expensive built in is below what you would expect from even a Kenmore, (by this I mean I have never experienced problems with any other past owned freezers) like the failures and design flaws of this overpriced poor performing unit. I have had the service department out 4 times in 11 months. Even the logo fell off the door within 6 months of installation! Stick with wolf or sub-zero. If budget minded... GE Monogram would easily be better that this Thermador.

The overall performance was just as expected. It performed flawlessly. With its easy to use setup it was perfect for me and my family. There wasnt single thing on there that gave problems or had you questioning. Well for we paid for it its worth every penny we put down into it. I couldnt have been any more satisfied with it than I already am. I would recommend this brand to anyone and have already recommended to everyone I know. We have the stainless steel model with the side by side oven racks and double top cooking ranges and let me just say it looks absolutely stunning in my kitchen. Very sleek and modern look that would make any kitchen look spectacular. The overall size was just perfect for what I needed. Im able to cook multiple things at the same time without crowding my cook area. That goes for the oven and the ranges. I have to say that I purchased this range with great expectations thinking that Thermador had such a wonderful reputation; however, I am extremely disappointed in the performance of the larger oven. We had a small dinner party catered, and it would not hold the heat to finish preparing the dinner on her large sheet pans. Ive had problems with the lights not working intermittently, so I decided to replace the bulbs (which the manual states is a DIY maintenance item). This is not a DIY job because you have to crawl into the oven to reach them (there are 2 of them in the larger oven), and in order to do it properly, you pretty much have to remove the oven door. Suffice it to say that I now have to call a repairman to put the door back on. The first and only time I tried to clean the oven. The amperage on the circuit is exactly that specified by Thermador.

I recently purchased a Thermador dishwasher to replace my previous Thermador dishwasher that I had owned for approx 15 years. My previous dishwasher was a 48 decibel and extremely quiet. If standing next to it I could not hear it, in order to hear it I had to put my ear right next to it. This new dishwasher is very loud. It says it is a 48 Decibels, but it is so loud I can hear it in the next room. I am so disappointed in my new dishwasher. When I talk to the rep who sold me the dishwasher he said that I should not be able to hear it and that I should call Thermador and that they would take care of any issues I had. I called and they sent out a technician. The Tech YES indeed that is loud and not normal. He said that he was going to check with the company because it sounded like they did not insulate it or built correctly. He called me back a few days later to say that there was nothing he could do to my dishwasher and I should call customer service. I called customer service and they were NO help. I did everything that they asked. I uploaded a video with my invoice. They said I would be contacted. I was never contacted, I had to contact them several times. Finally one customer service rep said that they would replace my dishwasher and that I would hear back from them in 24 to 48 hours. They never called me back, after a week of waiting I called them, only for them to tell me that they were still working on it and they would call me back. Customer support has been giving me the run around since April 27th. The sad part about this is that the reason I bought thermador is because 15 years ago when I remodel my kitchen I purchased a matching set, 48 professional range, Hood and dishwasher to match. This is why I stuck with the same brand. But now I say buyers beware of this awful customer service. They will not be helping me with my dishwasher. Instead all they did was just extended my warranty. How is that going to help my loud dishwasher? I will not buy Thermador again and in the next couple of years when I upgrade my range and hood it will not be Thermador! They just lost a $20,000 sale!! I will for sure be returning this LOUD dishwasher!

I am only thankful that I did not pay the full price of $5800 when I bought it. If you need a high end range, get a Wolf. I am not spending another $800 for another repair on this thing.

Purchased new for $7500 and has been nothing but a nightmare since. Bake element blew up 3 days after delivery. Control board shorted out 2 weeks after that. All of those 2 problems were manufactures warranted. Bake element has consistently burned out at least once every year since. All costing $128.00 each time. Less than 5 months ago the 2 fuses blew along with the bake element and the control board. That cost over $1200. Turned on the oven yesterday and the bake element blew up again with a loud electrical shorting noise. This time, the back side of the range caught on fire. I have burn damage to my hardwood flooring and wet plaster wall behind the stove. If I had been some regular consumer that did not have the knowledge on how to kill the power to the stove, it would have burned my house down. The stove is now a total loss. All of the wiring has burned up, along with considerable smoke damage to my home. I am thoroughly disgusted with Thermador. I plan to take civil action against Bosch, and file a class action lawsuit. This is a problem that has the potential to kill someone. Bosch and Thermador are fully aware of the problem and have chose to ignore it for many years. They will no longer ignore me. Please feel to free to respond to my posting if you desire to join the class action lawsuit.

What a terrible customer service, I would never recommend them for anything. Their products are overprice and their service is just sooooo poor.

I have a Thermador Professional Oven purchased in 1995. It still looks like new but the broiler and the cleaning functions failed because of the failure of a 5 button switch on the stove front. This switch is no longer made. Thermador says they are not legally responsible to carry the part after 10 years. The fix seems simple but cant be done and Thermador has washed its hands of finding a fix. This seems to me inexcusable. Dont buy Thermador.

Our 12-year-old daughter pushed the preheat button on the display panel of our Thermador oven, after which the entire front pane of glass in the top oven completely shattered into tiny little pieces (several fell on her but luckily she was not hurt). We called Thermador and they will pay for a diagnosis from a local repair company, then let us know further once they receive the diagnosis report. From what I know about glass, it seems to have a malfunction from the tempering process when it was made, so it should be covered completely by them for being defective...guess well see...

My very expensive Thermador wall oven has been giving me an F-34 error code. When going online, I see we are one of many consumers experiencing the poor quality of this companys product. As frustrating as it is to need to call out a repairman, even more frustrating is that with so many of us having the issue, the parts are no longer available (or were ever available?) to fix the error. I expect a couple hundred dollar oven to be considered disposable but when you spend several thousand on what is suppose to be commercial quality, you dont expect to have to replace them in a few short years.

I purchased my Thermador side by side refrigerator in 2010 (along with an oven and microwave wall unit). Recently, my refrigerator has started to malfunction. I called their customer service center and had them give me numbers (at least 8) for authorized repair centers. This proved useless as not even a Thermador certified technician will come to work on my unit. After several phone calls to the Thermador customer service number and reminding them that they guarantee after-warranty service anywhere in Canada, they asked me to provide photos proving that I, in fact, owned a Thermador fridge. This ludicrous request being met (who would waste time and energy calling a Thermador 1-800 number if they owned another brand), they now say that I actually need to call Whirlpool because it is Whirlpool that makes this Thermador fridge. This company is not even willing to take ownership and responsibility of their very own branded product. A product for which they put their stamp on and charge big money. They have passed the problem onto someone else!!

After much research we purchased a higher end stove which at the time we paid over $6000 for. We remodeled an old farmhouse and built the kitchen around the stove. Soon after we had it we had to have a few service calls but that was no big deal. Now only four of the burners work and we called out a Thermador service tech who informed us they no longer make parts to fix it. I called the Thermador factory and talked with customer service who also stated they no longer made parts and told us we were out of luck and the stove is 19 years old. That is unacceptable to me. The attitude I received was shameful. Just because an appliance is nineteen years old should not make it obsolete. I assure you I will never purchase any Thermador product in my lifetime and I will ensure any family member will NOT purchase one either. It is hard for me to believe that that just quit making parts and it is not only for my model either, it is for numerous models they misrepresented when they sold them.

I installed a 5 burner Thermador luxury optioned gas cooktop around 24 months ago. After repeated expensive repairs, scary operating issues and very poor customer support as so many here already reported, this cooktop was slightly modified and plopped into our outdoor poolside entertaining area. At least it couldnt burn anything serious down to the ground out there. Like our house.. The burner ignition problems started after a few months. Followed all the advice in the manuals and from Thermadope call center zombies; tried to arrange service calls, different techs came out several times over the ensuing months and replaced ignition modules and other parts. The appliance just kept failing to operate. After enough frustration, I bought a cheap Chinese gas cooktop that had great reviews and swapped the Thermador clunker out. No problems with cheapo cooktop at all. Ever. Before I chucked the Thermador luxury boat-anchor into the recyling bin, I thought, what the hell, I’ll try to repurpose it. First thing I did was measure the temperature inside the cooktop while a couple of burners were on for about 20 minutes. Incredibly, it was running over 150°C inside where the electronics were located! Even if Thermador used high-temperature military or space grade components, it was still WAY too hot for any electronics to survive in there very long in those conditions. I waved goodbye to any hope of salvaging a normal operating cooktop with a Frankenstein electronics transplant. So, I removed all the cooktop electronics and wiring in a few minutes with some wirecutters, plopped it into the old cooktop opening place by our pool and now use a dollar-store butane igniter to fire up my castrated ‘luxury’ Thermador cooktop. Having it by my pool makes me look a lot richer than I am! ????

I purchased a Thermador fridge/freezer double gas oven, cooktop and dishwasher. At the 4 yr mark the double oven fried the circ board. I replaced it with another brand. The refrigerator lost the freezer part at 5 yrs. I paid the service company they sent out to replace compressor, lines. Took 3 weeks to fix. 3 months later it goes again. 1 week out for a service. He comes today and says theres a contaminate? Or blocked line? I said, Well lets evacuate and recharge it?? He did and the door wouldnt close. I mentioned it and was told oh when the freezer reaches temp the door will suction close?? Ok the door doesnt close and the light is on. I called service again. No clue if its going to reach temp because the door doesnt close. Ive lost all the food in the freezer twice now. And waiting a week for a tech is absurd. No clue if its fixed but now the door doesnt work.

The refrigerator had a chronic problem with the ice and water dispenser leaking and not working adequately on any level. I called Thermador, and they recommended their local factory certified technician. He has made one repair with no results. The second repair involved replacing the door on the dispensers, as well as the optical sensors, with no change in results. I called Thermador and received a rude and uncooperative attendant, who refused to transfer me to a supervisor or give me information as to how to contact the service manager. I say, if you are in the luxury item market, you need to have that level of customer service. I think either a class action suit or a social media storm should get Thermador’s attention. I just bought Thermador appliances (Refrigerator, Stovetop, Microwave Oven, Dishwasher, Exhaust fan for stovetop) from Best Buy and they delivered the appliances on Feb 06, 2016 for my newly refurbished kitchen. When they delivered the appliances to my house and I opened the boxes, I noticed the Refrigerator had a dent on the door and the Microwave Oven had permanent marker markings on the sides of the appliance. The Stovetop that was installed started making noises the first day it was installed. Every time I turn the stove on, there is a ticking noise that does not go away and stays on until I turn off the stove. All five burners make this noise. Along with the ticking noise, the stainless steel stove turned dirty yellow upon first use. If I cook anything for 5 minutes, the cooktop turns gets a dirty yellow stain which does not go away. I complained to Best Buy, however, no one helped me. I used a normal sized pan to cook my food and the entire stovetop around that burner turned dirty yellow! The color does not come off! Since I noticed all these problems I called Best Buy that I want to return the appliances because they are horrible quality and also I received damaged goods upon receiving the appliances whereas I paid for brand new items. I spend about $10,000 dollars on these appliances. I called Best Buy again on the 10th day of my purchase and said I want to return the appliances. I talked to several people from Best Buy, Sam, Stan, Richard, & Jason and they kept putting me on hold but no one was able to help me still. Eventually, they said they would call me back and no one ever did. Finally, after five days of continuously trying to contact Best Buy, I finally got to the manager and he said it has been more than 14 days to return the appliances because the 14 days return policy had been over. Just to mention, upon purchase, no one had told me there was a 14-day return policy. However, I was trying to reach Best Buy since day 10 and they kept pushing me off. Now I am stuck with appliances I don’t want because they came damaged upon arrival. Best buy manager said that he can change the refrigerator door but I do not want it anymore. I am trying to get in touch with Thermador but no one is able to help me. I am extremely upset! My Sales Number is ** and **. I need someone from Thermador to contact me so I can get things cleared up and I want to return the appliances back as soon as possible. Some of the appliances seem like they may have been previously used and returned by other people. I really appreciate the corporate office if they take notice of the used items and help me. I have not used any of the appliances besides the cooktop; the rest are still sitting there waiting to be installed. Can someone please help me for God sake?

After purchasing our Thermador Range, Model # PRD366GHU in 2011, the oven has stopped working on multiple occasions. Only to finally find out, from the most recent service tech, that there is a design flaw in the range and the heat of the oven when its in self-clean mode, trips a high-temp cut off, leaving the oven inoperable until the cut off is reset. So after spending all of the money that this high-end brand charges, youd expect some sort of resolution from Thermador customer support... not so fast. They have started a file, not approved reimbursement of the service calls and I continue to chase them after being promised callbacks. This seems to be a serious defect in this range, with multiple complaints regarding this very same issue. There appears to be no work around, other than not using the self-clean mode, REALLY? Consumers be aware. Thermador needs to respond and address this issue with their consumers. Ive totally lost all brand loyalty.

Microwave wave generator broke for no apparent reason after 3 years of moderate to low use. It cannot be fixed so the microwave unit is worthless now. According to Thermador there is no way to replace just the microwave. What?????? So they want me to spend another $6,500 to replace the whole unit????? Total BS. I will never buy another thing from Thermador even again. This is pure extortion.Just FYI - you can buy the current built-in microwave ($900) alone and rig it to fit in the space of the old microwave in the tower. The faceplate (another $350) is different and were still working on getting to look as good as the original, but at least we dont have a big unfinished hole in the wall over the oven. It still cost us $1,400 total by the time we were done which is also a huge amount just for a microwave. The whole experience was total crap. Never again.

We paid a little over $25K for Thermador appliances and have had this equipment for almost three years. Our experience has been very poor. Given the price point, the equipment is unbelievably terrible. i.e. Our GE Profile appliances in our prior house had ZERO issues in 5 years and the equipment was 4 years old when we moved it. Thermadors customer support is difficult to reach. Theyre techs act like their is not a larger issue at hand even after youve called them 5 - 7 times over the same issue.1. Double Oven (digital version): The double oven is either too hot or too cold (weve called Thermador 5 - 7 times and every time they come out their techs say Our ovens are within tolerance if they are 25 degrees over or under the set temperature! Literally, the $400 Magic Chef oven/stove top that I grew up with had a more accurate and consistent oven temperature than the Thermador.2. Stove top and Fridge: These havent been so bad. The stove top had some issues with flames not burning even, which was resolved with new hardware. The fridge hinge wore into the plastic which was super annoying.3. Dishwasher: Three years into use, this dishwasher stopped working. Weve spend $500 in repairs and the non-Thermador tech said that Thermador appliances are known to have maintenance issues. Dishwasher will not run. First the pump stopped working, but it turned out there was a wire loose. Now we need a new electronic panel--Im throwing this thing out and buying a Miele or Asko.4. Customer Service: No joke there are times that Ive waited for 30 - 50 minutes to reach customer support. Thermador techs tend to be arrogant and believe their equipment is the best (which wouldnt be a big deal if Thermadors appliances backed up it).I would not recommend Thermador--youd be better off buyings anything/something cheap from Lowes or Home Depot.

I was sitting in my kitchen in March, when I heard a loud explosion... It was very scary. I did not know where the sound had come from. Later, when I opened my Thermador oven as it was on the Cleaning Cycle, the entire inside glass was broken in large cracks. When I opened the door, little powder flakes went on the floor. When I cleaned the floor, little pieces came into my skin. No blood or anything, it felt like slivers in the skin. They worked out in a week. So no serious damage, just hurt and bothered me. I dont think any oven glass should break. It was a very expensive downdraft in the counter island type stove. I consider it a serious safety issue. I called Abt to let them know what happened, I was referred to Thermador and it took many calls back and forth. I offered to send them photos of the damaged oven. But, they wanted a repairman to come. So, I lost time waiting and having a man come to say, Yes. It is broken glass. A repair man came out for no charge from Abt paid for by Thermador. Abt repairman said it was a thermo blast and not uncommon. Later Abt said they would submit a claim to Thermador. The door and glass were not available any longer and no other contact was made. I waited several weeks, called back regarding the claim and was told by Abt that Thermador was doing nothing. End of Story. Abt said that Thermador said my stove was too old. It was 20 years old. I understand things do not last forever, however, should glass explode for no reason and their product should last as long as it is maintained and cared for correctly, which it was.I was surprised that Thermador did not write me a postcard or email or call to say that they didnt care what happened... Too bad. But instead, they took no responsibility for their oven exploding. Never ever said, Oh sorry, just really indifferent. I am writing as I do not think that Thermador stands behind their product. This stove of mine had every bell and whistle and was supposed to be top of the line. I was surprised that I was not offered a small discount on a new stove, or even an apology letter. Their customer service is definitely not very good to their customers and they do not stand up for service or care to the consumer. Thank you for your time and I appreciate it if others were made aware of Thermadors lack of customer service and that also to expect a glass explosion in the oven without warning. Watch out when baking if small children are nearby.

I literally have to kneel down on the floor to read the display and the text swipes so quickly that I have to carefully swipe word by word to find what I want to do. I never thought that turning on an oven to bake something would be so difficult and uncomfortable! The oven comes with WiFi capability that is impossible to connect to your router. It is so bad (not even sure if it works) that there are 3 places you have to get instructions to try and connect it - the user manual, a special home connect instruction pamphlet, and the app you have to install on your smartphone. After spending several hours trying to connect to my router (I come from the IT industry) I finally called customer support. We spent almost an hour trying to get it connected while he gave me step by step instructions from 2 different instruction sources. We could never get it connected so we decided I need a service call. He told me that if the problem is due to connectivity from my router then I would have to pay for the service call. My router works fine but I think that this is really poor customer service! I discourage anyone looking at new ovens to buy this one. I will probably send mine back.

Buyer beware - if you need support, you won’t get it easily from Thermador based on my experience. They charged me about $750 for a replacement part for a fridge. The part arrived in approx. Sept. 2021. For two months they have been unable to coordinate two techs (the number needed) to come install the part for my fridge. On the first visit, despite my reminding them in advance that we needed two techs, only one came and couldn’t do the job. He rescheduled for a month later. On the day, no one came (not a typo). Instead, Theramdor claims I cancelled the appointment… Why would I do that? Now it’s the third visit —11/29/2021. Despite advising them again that we needed two techs, they coordinated only one. I called today (11/28) to confirm they would get two out here, and there was literally nothing they could do to confirm one way or another. I’ve asked to speak with supervisors on multiple occasions. I keep being told a supervisor would “call me back.” No one has ever called me back. For a company selling high end (ie, very expensive) appliances, you would think they could treat their customers with a smidgen of respect. Definitely the last time we buy a Thermador product. It’s just not worth the headache in my opinion, particular with an appliance that is only about 5 years old.

I purchased the Thermador appliance package that included the Sapphire dishwasher in 2020. Since day one we have had nothing but problems with the dishwasher. Dishwasher not drying- then after the first use we got an error code, then after the technician came to fix the issue, the floor display stopped working and the dishwasher drying cycle again failed. I had heard from friends that the Thermador dishwasher was no good and now I understand why.... How can a company peddle this garbage?I am requesting a new dishwasher as I don’t think it’s fair to have bought this lemon that never worked from the beginning. Am being told by the supplier- Ferguson’s that we must have 3 service calls before a new replacement can be considered. With Thanksgiving on the horizon I’m already fearful that it’s going to be a disaster. I always stood by Thermador products- but if this issue doesn’t resolve soon- this will be the last time I ever purchase one of their products.

I have a double wall oven (SCD302ZS) that is a piece of junk. I bought this thing brand new and paid a substantial amount for it. We have nothing but problems; the control panel has been replaced three times (at $300 per panel) and it still doesnt work. You cant read the numbers on it (i.e., the clock, the temperature). If you set the panel flush on the wall like its supposed to be, it doesnt work so you have to leave the panel hanging off the wall about 1/4 in order for the buttons to work. The elements have been replaced once, but the bottom oven still wont work. Today, the convection fan and light will come on in both the upper and bottom ovens but it wont heat up. Piece of junk! Dont bother calling Thermador, they will do nothing. We fought with them over the control panels, wrote letters to the headquarters and got nowhere. They dont care. Do not buy Thermador. I have one more brand new control panel for this piece of junk. If anyone is interested in buying it, Ill sell it for less than it cost me.

We bought this 36”, 6 burner stove new From a local appliance store. We have had multiple calls to have repairs made. 4 times for gas leaks, not a great experience, 4 different occasions. We have had to have two igniters replaced. I also had to have some control unit replaced after a pot boiled over and shorted out this element. That cost us $849. Now with the oven never heating to the desired temperature, and servicemen saying there is nothing they could do, the oven just won’t work at all. The parts to repair it are$2650 without the service call and installation. We paid over $5,000 for this piece of crap. After contacting Thermador, they offered me $ 200 off on parts. A range is suppose to turn on heat up and bake, cook as needed. What a waste of money and terrible customer service! Don’t buy one!

ProGrand oven and range - My wife and I bought this range that was a dream
ProGrand oven and range - My wife and I bought this range that was a dream of my wifes, which now has turned out to be her worst NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!! We had it installed in our remodeled kitchen. Looks really nice, but for the most part so does a bookend. The range part works well but the oven is a joke. The only thing it cooks good is our bank account...! The wonderful people at Thermador thought they had better way to light a oven, putting a delay of so many seconds on the gas valve, before it lights... Thus filling your oven full of gas and when it lights, which you have a 50/50 chance that it might, the door on the oven jumps out a bit as it is now lit... For how long it stays going is a crapshoot. If you are cooking a roast that will take over a hour, forget it. It wont relight to keep at temp. But the fun part of it is the temp on the dial shows whatever the temp you set it at! Open the oven and its around 100 degrees. NICE! It is what it is and thats JUNK!We had a company who was great repairing the Wonderful PRO-Grand, new name should be PRO Crap, but anyway the repairman found a missing part in the oven. Called the Company and got the repair tech on the phone, who stated, We do not sell that Part... Now three weeks later the repair company going to bat for me, got the people at Thermador to send us the part. Which in fact they forgot to install at the so-called Factory! Wonderful the problem fixed right?????? NOPE! Installed that part and the oven is still doing the same thing...! Anyway not wanting to see the Nice repairman again for awhile we started using the barbecue as our new oven!Works great keeps the temp right and it only cost $300.00. Pro Grand $6000.00 Plus.... Is there something wrong with this picture????? Now we are getting close to the end of this Saga.....! Bit the bullet and called the Nice Repairman. Was like old home week for the first three minutes, but he got the Pro Grand apart could not figure it out and call the Factory Tech. His name is Mr. Confused. Was told what was happening and he could not figure it out either.....! So the Nice Repairman asked, Why do we need this delay on the gas and light it like the broiler lights? which is right now... Doesnt figure does it.....! DA. Okay, now one great-minded repairman and one confused Factory Tech tells the Nice Repairman, You mean like the Older Pro Grands? Yes, the OLD ONE!!!!!!! Yes!!!! Factory Tech the Old tried and true Lights every time system. Okay, the Confused Factory Tech says... Now we wait!!!!!!! Nice repairman leaves to find out what he needs as far as parts and if he really is right... Yes he was!!!!! Mr. Nice Repairman got all the new stuff ordered and now I have to Open my wallet again to pay the Nice Repair Company...! The cost of this repair was Only $475.80 thus bring up the total cost of repairs to $1065.71 Pro Grands final repair total. Dont waste your time with Thermador thinking they will stand behind the product. The Fact is they wont....! For those of you who dont know this Thermador is owned by Bosch...... !

We moved into our home in 2007. Previous owner had just redone kitchen, went high end on appliances not knowing they were going to have job transfer. Recently Thermador downdraft fan stopped working properly. Figured it was out of warranty by now, I took a look to see if it was a switch I could replace - discovered it had a circuit board. I was shocked to see that the circuit board had started to melt along with the wires leading to it. I called Thermador, said I knew it must be out of warranty by now - but it seemed like a defect in manufacturing or design flaw and a fire hazard. After many calls, Thermador reluctantly agreed to send someone at their expense to diagnose. The technician informed me it happens all the time.I maintain for the amount of money spent on this type of product one should expect it to last longer than five or six years, and of all the appliances I have ever owned, it is the only one that has ever had a part that melted and posed a fire hazard. Thermador refuses to make good - it is out of warranty and it is normal wear and tear. I recorded my last conversation with Thermador. The audio, as well as pictures of the melted circuit board and wires and a video of it sparking and smoking can be found on you tube under the user **. I now have a stove in the middle of the kitchen with no ventilation. I want others - who own one of these or are contemplating the purchase of one - to understand the risk and I would like the Thermador to remedy the situation. I have not yet explored whether I am limited to a Thermador brand based on the dimensions of the hole in the granite countertop.

I purchased a whole kitchen of appliances in 2019. My pride purchase was a Thermador 36 inch gas 4 burner with a grill in the middle. 7149.99 stove alone. The meat probe from the oven was never used until that Thanksgiving when I was going to cook my first turkey with my Thermador stove probe kit. Seems simple right? Put the probe in the turkey, set it and wait for the probe to chirp. Right from the start it gave me a defective code with the probe in. It couldnt be used. Since the fall of 2019 until today Thermadors qualified service techs have been to the house 5 times and are unable to fix it. One and one half years later no resolution. They just decided that they would replace my stove. The replacement is the stove prg366wh which is 1000.00 dollars less. They refuse to reimburse even a fraction of the amount claiming Ive had the stove over a year, even though my call for service was less than 6 months after owning the stove. Ive declined, Im off to court. Somethings are a matter of principle. Bottom line, Thermador is no longer able to support their past reputation. One last thing I discovered during this problem. The parts are made in China, so how do they claim the quality when everything is being made for all at the same sweatshop. Stay away from Thermador. Worst purchase Ive made in 20 years.

While the store I purchased from has been great in trying to remedy, Ive gone a few weeks without it being repaired, Thermador originally left items off the repair order. I purchased my complete set of Thermador appliances back in 2006 and installed them in my new kitchen in 2007. In August of this year 2014 the fridge/freezer stopped working and after 2 months of dealing with their customer support and technicians it still doesnt work. I had to purchase a used one off of Craigslist as a temporary just to get by. After several phone calls and much complaining they finally offered to replace it but only if I could show my original receipt/proof of purchase, which of course I can’t find and the dealer is out of business. To add insult to injury I had to pay them just under $900 for labor to have their unqualified technicians come out 4 times. If I ever see the salesperson that talked me into this stuff I think I will punch him in the nose.

I have called and written but no one at Thermador at BSH Home Appliances, 1901 Main St. #608, Irvine, Ca. will respond nor have they ever cared. We purchased 2 Thermador gas ranges in 2005, one smaller wall unit and a larger free standing 6 burner model PG3668s/05. I hardly have used the larger oven, only for holiday turkeys and meals in the past 12 years, as it has continually needed servicing! I am very disappointed in this model as it was expensive, and larger yet not at all efficient as I had hoped with larger meals. I wish we had purchased 2 of the SEC301 type wall units instead of this deluxe gas range. The problems we continually have had with this range are mostly concerning the heat of the oven. It does not heat to the desired temperature! We have had North Town service this issue so many times, with the fan and the controls, and the starter, and it never seems to solve the heating up problem. Then the large door fell off! It is a heavy door and the hinges on one side broke. I have stopped trusting it to fully cook the food after half cooked casseroles and turkeys. I depend on the smaller unit for all my baking and cooking because of these issues. I trusted the Thermador brand and at first, was excited to have purchased this large, convection/gas range... however, the oven has been out of commission much more than it has been functioning! Repairs have cost us more than we have expected since the oven consistently doesnt heat up beyond 250 degrees, and the warranty for repairs is only 6 months! I will not purchase another large Thermador professional gas range again because of all the problems I have encountered with this model.

I purchased a french door refrigerator & paid over 6k for it. I have to call the one & only repair man (who is authorized to fix it) every year since Ive gotten it. It has not cost me over 10k for this refrigerator. The customer service is also horrible. The technician has to come in to diagnose the issue, order the part (which takes a week or so) then come back again to install. Usually a 3 week fix. How do you expect your customer to be without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks! The only authorized technician also dont want to come & fit it because he said it is just a huge hassle to fix. It has so many issues: ie. Ice maker had to be replaced twice at a cost of $500.00 for the parts, twice, the sensor panel went bad & totally froze the entire cooling unit. Now my freezer section does not freeze causing me to throw out hundreds of dollar of food! Dont buy it!

In 1993 a 30 dual fuel RDSS30 was installed in a custom home. We bought the house in 1998. Within 2 years the front panel would start to blink. This turned into the panel shutting down. We were told back then that we could not get the computer panel. My husband just happened to find a floor model of the same stove so we purchased another RDSS30 not realizing this was a chronic problem with Thermador. Within a year the computer panel would start blinking then the oven would just randomly shut off. We never even used the self clean feature being afraid the extra heat would make it worse. Now it is to the point where the number are so dim you cannot see them unless you are in the dark. The oven will not heat beyond around 300. It shuts off without warning. How can a 5 year old $5000 stove not be able to be fixed? There are outside companies that offer the service to rebuild the boards. So why cant Thermador? I will tell you why. We had a Thermador double oven in our old house, dont remember the model number, purchased in about 2000. About 4 years into ownership we began to get fault codes. Cycling the power would restore operation but the problem became more frequent. Thermador were non-responsive to be polite about it. Im an electronics hobbyist so I pulled the circuit boards out myself. I found that they used a significant number of electrolytic capacitors. These are heat sensitive devices with a specified lifetime. I checked and found that 80% of the electrolytic capacitors were at end of life, displaying either a high esr or low capacitance or both. I replaced the capacitors with higher temperature rated and higher quality ones at a total cost of $15. Problems solved and unit was working well when we sold the house about 5 years ago. The local appliance repair shop wanted north of $500 to visit and replace the boards, no prizes for guessing what I told them.We purchased, maybe regretfully, a new model double oven Thermador for our new house that we moved into 5 years ago. Yeah, I know doing the same thing and expecting different results etc. It is now Christmas Eve and the oven has had to be re-started twice so far. Hopefully it will hang on and produce Christmas dinner before totally crapping out. I will then get into the guts and Ill bet every Christmas cracker in the house that I find the same issue as the previous model.I will not even bother contacting Thermador. What gets my goat is that if Thermador were to install higher temperature rated and better quality capacitors in the first place then a ten year life would be likely achievable. The cost, with their bulk purchasing power, would be probably less than $5 per oven. Ill lay another bet that their cost accountants are a part of the problem, shaving cents here and there and seriously compromising what, for the price, should be a rolls Royce oven.Tip for all, if the oven starts to exhibit strange behavior find a friend who is competent with electronics. He can probably fix it for you for a bottle of his favorite tipple and a few electrolytic capacitors at a cost of less than $20. Thermador, shame on you. Cheap electrolytic capacitors, poor thermal design and a ‘couldnt care less’ service attitude. I know I have the receipt for the current oven somewhere in my files, purchased from Trail appliances along with a five ring Wolf gas range top, Wolf wok burner, Wolf 60 inch external fan hood and a Bosch dishwasher. Just not going to go looking for it right now.

Let me count the ways I am fed up with Thermador. I purchased a package of expensive thermador appliances. The oven has not worked since the day I bought it—2 years ago. The service is next to non existent. Was supposed to have a service call today and when I called the service # (after being on hold over half an hour) and asked to speak to the supervisor, the rep hung up. Can’t speak with anyone with authority to do something. Can’t believe I will actually have to purchase a new oven

Our range oven (RDF30RS) oven stopped heating, so since only 2013, we had the control panel repaired by auth repair co. The night the repair was completed, the stove stopped igniting (spark modulator failed?). Repair co said it was only coincidental, so after almost $500. to repair oven (which we assumed made sense given over $4,000. price), but we are now told that it is difficult to replace the spark modulator due to impossibility of removing stovetop (screws need to be bored out and replaced), so repair cost is almost $800. I called company to complaint that at least we should be able to replace the part, but due to the defective bolts assembly, it cant be done. No help, and then after she checked with supervisor twice, I was cut off.

Replacement part of oven sensor no longer available which makes the double ovens non-operational when it senses a problem that usually does not exist. All other parts of the oven work and it is poor customer service to leave a total replacement as the only option. Built-in oven replacements amount to thousands of dollars. I cannot in good conscience recommend a company that said they are only liable for the parts for 7 yrs. This is Thermador using Government Regulations to provide poor customer satisfaction and quality control.
