I called customer service to ask general directions on how to remove the top of my oven range. The person answering the phone (01/23/2017 at 4:25 PM) would not let me talk to anyone in service. I asked him why, and are you ready for this? He said we cant talk to customer service for our own security.. No kidding. The idiot went on to try and tell me it was for my protection! After arguing further, I asked him to again connect me with a technician. He puts me on hold and comes back and says The technician said to call a service provider - unbelievable. I will NEVER buy a DACOR product again! What morons think they can sustain a business with this approach to service!

This posting is in response to my original post regarding the Drain Pan heater issue in our Dacor refrigerator. My refrigerator was repaired on 10/16/2012 at no charge to me. My refrigerator is out of warranty, but Dacor stepped up and repaired the issue. The customer service I received was second to none, and I would like to thank James ** for that. Great customer service instills confidence in your product! Thank you!

We remodeled our home and purchased Dacor appliances for our kitchen. Range, love it, Microwave, 30 Double oven and warming drawer (promotional give away). The ovens from the beginning do not function well. To warm up the ovens I have to wait 45-50 minutes and it buzzes. It is at temperature but then when I look at thermometer we are close to 75 degrees below. It recycles temperature every 75 degrees too. We had many repairs to the original unit to the point the repair person recommended that Dacor replace the unit. They did, another disaster. First they dropped the old unit while removing it chipping my granite, destroying my drawer panel and then left an absolute mess. The second unit has the same warm up issues, holding temperatures and oh wait, fans ran for hours after they were turned off. Broiling amazing. Baking and convection, a joke. The last repair person told me to open the oven and turn the cookies to have them cook evenly. And do the same when cooking with Convection. :/ I am currently looking for a reliable double oven that I can use and feel good about the food I serve (to be cooked). Dacor basically said that they cannot help me anymore because we went out of warranty last year and sent a repair person to basically say it is acceptable. Obviously for someone who does not cook, just sayin.

The first F1 Error needed a new membrane repair for $470.00, after 4 years of service. Now, the same F1 error after the new membrane is only 13 and 1/2 months in service and it is now out of warranty. Customer service people are rude and unhelpful but when pressed, they said they might be willing to help after a service tech, which I have to pay for, diagnoses the problem.Even the Sears store people advise their customers not to buy Dacor products and that is sad because it is one of only 2 American made options. Dacor needs to step up their product engineering, commitment to quality and get rid of the rude phone people in Customer No Service. This is not the end of this experience but the only reason I am not junking the stove is because a comparable replacement is another 3000 bucks from another vendor which I cannot afford at this time. The irony of this is that the company clearly knows they have problems but when I asked if the replacement parts had been improved so the problems wont persist, I was told that no changes or modifications to the electronic brains had been made. How stupid is that! They are just asking for more problems with the parts they send you to fix what does not work.

Purchased a house with Dacor 2 Built in 30refrigerators that suppose to be under additional 1 year warranty after 2 year initial warranty expires, Both units were registered online and still showing being under warranty and the company refuse to take care of the issue. This is not how you treat customers and it tells that it does not matter if you buy $8000 refrigerator, you as a customer does not really matter. I am in the process of building another house right now and I was considering spending over $40,000 on Dacor appliances and that will definitely not happen since the company refuses to honor the warranty that is still active over broken door spring. What a shame!

Eight months ago I renovated my whole kitchen with all Dacor appliances, cooktop double wall oven, refrigerator and dishwasher and I could not be more pleased. I wanted to wait a few months before I wrote this review in order to make my review more accurate. I love the modern design of all the appliances. The refrigerator is nice and roomy and the cooktop has been very reliable. Dacor products cost a bit more but they are well worth the extra money!

I am very, very pleased to report that I was contacted by Dacor a day after I posted my review which addressed a second failed relay board in 7 years. A really helpful Customer Service Representative called me (not emailed) to discuss the issue in great detail. Within a matter of days, a local repair service had received the new part from Dacor and scheduled an appointment with me to come out and replace the defective part. Dacor covered both the part and the labor. Im really sorry that the oven needed a second major repair but I will say that Im impressed with Dacors resolution of this issue!

Im reading all these reviews and my story mirrors them all... I have actually contacted a lawyer and am considering either a lawsuit or going to small claims court because, at this point, its cheaper than continuing with repairs every other year. Has no one else considered a lawsuit under your states lemon law? Appliances are usually covered. I purchased the MORD230 wall oven in 2008... It was purchased as a second oven to my 6-burner Wolfe to cook a turkey or roast during the holidays. It has been used no more than 24 times... I have gone through 2 control panels and am now having glitches with the third. After doing a self clean recently the whole heating element blew - it will not heat at all. I am able to enter the temp but the oven just runs and runs and never heats. I have called Dacor furious for how many times this thing has broken in relation to how many its been used... They have offered parts at a reduced rate but I am not sinking another dollar in this oven on labor and parts only for it to break again. I asked for my money back and told them to come and get the piece of garbage they sold me. Do yourself a favor and buy a Wolfe... It works beautifully... My only problem was the cast iron grates rusted a bit recently... I called their customer service and was on the phone for no more than 5 minutes and they overnighted me a whole new set no questions asked! Dacor customer service has been a nightmare - so much back and forth... I tell everyone I know... DO NOT buy Dacor!!!

We thought we bought a quality product when we remodeled our kitchen two years ago and put in a $3000 30 inch wall oven from Dacor through their dealer Friedman’s in Knoxville. We had heard for years that their products were top notch and high-quality. I find it interesting that the oven has a self-cleaning function. However Dacor Technical advised me that if you use the self-cleaning function you will create too much heat and destroy the motherboard. Wonderful input after the fact. The oven now does not keep a correct temperature and we are advised that our oven is two years old and out of warranty and we should not have used the self clean function. Really? Why is the button even there. Do not under any circumstances purchase any Dacor product. I feel comfortable in saying Samsung will add absolutely nothing to the quality or service. The lack of customer care and concern is beyond reproach. One star rating is way too generous. How do you just walk away from your products. We used our clean function exactly once and nobody ever said it was a self destruct button.

I purchased most Dacor appliances when I built my home in 2015. Their induction cook top and dishwasher kept breaking down one by one. The first time the repair service was done well. Early 2019, their cooktop broken down again and I still have the half broken cook top for almost 4 month now. We have been emailing back and forth, firstly Dacor promised to mail me the parts, but then a different customer rep reached out saying I have to take the broken parts out and mail it back to them before they can send me the replacement parts. That means I would have to live without a cook top for a while. There is even no estimation when I will have it fixed!! Dacor dont value their customer and Im comfortable to say it is the worst product quality and service I have experienced in my lifetime. Never recommend it to anyone!!

We purchased a home with a 5 year old Dacor Discovery IQ Double Wall Oven.
We purchased a home with a 5 year old Dacor Discovery IQ Double Wall Oven. Model Number DYO230S. Great looking and it has a very sophisticated and functionally rich digital control system. Problem is the digital control system does not work. The stove has a mind of its own and will just shut off for 24 to 48 hours and return to function randomly. Shutting the power off and turning it back on has no effect. Dacor (Now Samsung) has been completely un-helpful. Bottom line response - tough. Product is no longer produced, replacement parts no longer in stock - maybe there is a part on eBay ** Honest that is the answer. I have called parts companies who also complain about Dacor (now Samsung). No luck. So we will now need to purchase a replacement product for anywhere from 4,000 to 10,000 dollars. To replace a 5 year old - 8,000 product. It will definitely not be a Dacor or Samsung product. And I will do my best to put similar reviews on the internet where ever I can.Just to add some balance - 21 years ago we custom built a home and purchased two Dacor ovens. Both were great. 21 years of flawless operation. When we saw this oven as we went through the home purchase process we were delighted. What a disappointment. Also - before the oven started to go wacky on us we needed to replace the bulbs (2) in the oven light fixture. Initially I contacted Dacor parts and had a very pleasant experience ordering the two replacements. However nothing came to our home. Called again and found that Dacor had been sold to Samsung and the price of the bulbs had doubled or more. No exaggeration. Stay away from Dacor and Samsung.

This range was installed in January 2003. The door on the larger oven was replaced soon after because it would not close tightly and still doesnt with the new door. I have always thought that the oven temperature is lower than it should be but have been told twice that it is accurate, tell that to the turkey. The heating element on the large oven was replaced 2 years ago. Four of the burners dont light and have to be lit manually, this has been going on for 10 years. The relay board has burned out and now has to be replaced, $800.00 fix. The technician just left and could not replace it, he couldnt access the tight spot that it was in and wanted to cut the barrier panel to get access to it. He decided not to do the job and told me to call Dacor to get another repair service, which I just did. I was prompted to write this after reading other reviews and remarks. I hope this helps someone out there to buy a different brand.

We remodeled our kitchen and decided to use the range as the focal point of the room. The decision to go with a Dacor ER36DSCH dual fuel range over comparable Wolf and Viking models as well as a Dacor heating drawer was made, a decision I have regretted since. Our unit keeps blowing the baking element ($200) which routinely fails at the most inopportune times. To date I have replaced four and the Mrs. recently informed me that the oven is once again not heating properly. Thankfully, I am competent enough to diagnosis and repair it myself and did a thorough operational inspection and cleaning which revealed the broil element ($180) had also gone bad this time. My wife hates this oven and unfortunately it sits right smack in the middle of our beautiful kitchen to remind us of the bad decision we made. In fact, we are now at the point where we are considering replacing it and sending it to a scrap yard where it belongs. Avoid this brand or it will cost you.

I paid over $6000.00 for a Dacor EF48BNDBSS refrigerator and have had nothing but problems with this item and the other Dacor item (dishwasher) that I bought when I had a new kitchen built for my new life of retirement. The first refrigerator that was delivered did not work when it was installed and was returned immediately. I had to wait for Dacor to send another one and I have had to pay several service calls each time since that point. I am disgusted that I paid over $10,000 on two appliances from Dacor and neither of them has ever worked even at a low grade basic level. Both of my items have been discontinued and Dacor reimbursed me for half of what I paid for the dishwasher, which did not even cover all of the repair calls that I had paid for ongoing service. At that dealing, I got tired of paying for repair calls for the refrigerator due to excessive icing in the freezer; supposedly there was a quick fix right after I had the unit installed and it did not fix the issue. Now, there is another quick fix that Dacor suggests and that will cost me $800. Really? I dont think so. In fact, I have researched this issue and have found that this quick fix does not solve the problem either. In addition, I have called Dacor numerous times about the refrigerator door not sealing and the refrigerator making all kinds of strange noises. They told me it was the seal, so I had the seal replaced and that was not the issue. Then I paid $235.00 for a service call to look at the seal and he said that this refrigerator has known problems for hinge issues and he attempted to fix the hinge and left and the problem continued. Between the hinge issues, the constant icing issues in the freezer and the food icing over as well along with the trays and inner shelving of the freezer, the refrigerator sealing and the hinges working, and the constant crazy noises that the refrigerator makes, I am ready to file a lawsuit for a lemon of a product. This is the second product that has recall issues and multiple problems. I am sure that with my documentation, a judge would have no problem agreeing that I have paid way too much and put in way too much time and energy into getting a decent appliance into my kitchen. I would never recommend Dacor to anyone. I am dissatisfied and refuse to pay another penny for service calls on these appliances that were installed in 08/2012. At this point, my refrigerator is unplugged and unusable and I am using a small refrigerator that I bought at Costco for $300.00 thirteen years ago that has never had one problem.

We purchased a Dacor built-in refrigerator in 2011. After just 5 years the warning beeper came on. We learned that the main control panel - built by Whirlpool - was defective. We then learned that Dacor did not have any replacement part for this model. Our only alternative was the purchase a new refrigerator. Amazing!! Dacor reluctantly gave us a partial credit for a new (KitchenAid) model. However at the end of the day we are out of pocket over $2000 because Dacor built and sold a defective refrigerator with no ability to fix the problem. Very unsatisfactory handling of this situation.

We just purchased our home in March of this year. The previous homeowner purchased a Dacor oven; it is electric & propane. She purchased the appliance after a complete home renovation in 2008. They lived in the home. After 1 year, they moved out and had it on the market. We purchased the home in 2012. As soon as we moved in, we noticed the oven was not working. We called an appliance repairman - $564.00 service call and part for a new relay switch. It was great; the oven worked. Not even a day later, an F1 error. We called them back out thinking they must have done something incorrectly. They then said we needed a new control panel. We did not have an additional $400.00. We just moved, so he said you could still use the oven. We did. We would use it and flip the breaker off so we did not have to hear the annoying beeping sound. Then I came home and bam - no display, no oven. We called a different Dacor certified appliance guy thinking the first company was just taking us for a ride and it was their fault. $572.00 later, we got a new control panel, but guess what, the technician did not even make it to his truck before beep, beep, F1. He came back in and then said we needed to replace the display screen - an additional $217.00 with no labor charge. We told the man to shove it. I had every plan of taking the oven to our back tank and using it for target practice. But in good business practice, since this company already invested $572.00, we could not ask them to eat the money, so we allowed a third fix of the oven. While the technician was here, the oven made a horrible loud sound and shot out flames. He insisted maybe it was due to it sitting for a week without use. He left. I never noticed this flame before when the oven worked despite the F1 beeping. Now it’s hit and miss. Some days it will shoot out a flame once until it reaches 200+ degrees and then you can hear the fan kick in. Some days, twice, I have had it happen 3 times. If my children were to open the door during this event, I am sure they would be seriously burned. At first I was thinking maybe it is normal for this oven to shoot out flames during preheat mode since after $1300.00 repairs maybe it is just not functioning correctly. But if it were a normal function of the product, to me it would do it every time consistently and not three times, or two times on some occasions. I hate to admit this but I am almost fearful of using my oven. I currently have a pie to put in for dinner and I’m thinking its 3:09 pm; I could set the oven to preheat while I run to get my kids from school so if it decides to blow up, I am not home and that is pretty sad. The last repairman we had come out said in his personal opinion, he wouldn’t have repaired the oven, because they are known for issues, and he would have gone to Lowes and spent $300.00 on any off brand stove first. We have considered that, but this stove is extra-wide and the cabinetry is built around it. So for us to purchase an oven to slide right back in it would be another $1300.00-$2000.00. We have issues with the burners not always wanting to light. I almost caught on fire lighting one because it shot out flames when it decided to finally ignite. Sometimes it just clicks. Currently, I am down to two burners when just two days ago all six were working just fine. Over Thanksgiving, it took no kidding 1-hour to cook brown and serve rolls because the oven did not reach the set temperature. We stuck my husband’s bbq thermometer to see. It was 256 degrees, not the desired 350 degrees. Does this stove have warranty? We have no clue as the previous homeowner purchased the stove. She claims to have spent $5,000.00 on this stove or more during their purchase. We do not have warranty on our home so for each repair, it is out of pocket for us, and currently we really are thinking any knock off brand at Lowes would be a better product than a Dacor oven and less of a safety hazard for our family.

It can fit so many items..we tend to buy a lot from Costco and everything fits in the fridge and freezer no problem. My two favorite things are the fresh drawer and auto fill water pitcher. The fresh drawer temp can be adjusted based on what you want to place in there. Wines, cheeses and we've even stores desserts in there. And the auto fill water pitcher means no one has to remember to fill it up. Small detail but so nice to have. Definitely recommend this fridge.

Regarding my previous complaint on 3/21/12, I had a Dacor fridge, model #EF42BDCBSS, installed in my brand new kitchen in March 2008 (Ive a kitchen full of Dacor). It subsequently had a problem with the drip pan in March 2009 and was fixed on warranty. Come March 2012, the fridge was again diagnosed with the same problem. The technician told me there had been a design problem, but after three re-designs, it was remedied and should have no further problems once the new part was installed. The bill, $658 and more than half, was for the part! Of course, I was livid because the fridge had been fixed in 2009 and was now off warranty. When I expressed myself originally, I was simply venting about the price of the repair without hope of a remedy. James at Dacor customer service called me promptly that next morning and left a message! We subsequently talked and he immediately got in touch with my local appliance service center. He not only worked out with them refunding my deposit for the part but also ordered two other parts that were necessary in order to fix the problem. The outcome? They fixed my fridge at no charge to me for parts or labor, and all I had to pay was the original trip and diagnosis charge. I cant begin to tell you how extremely happy and grateful I am about this. Thank you, James, for such terrific follow-through and thank you Dacor for being a top-notch business who stands behind your products!

Deidra, the manager in customer service, said No, you must return those filters and yes, you were sent the wrong filters. They will come back into our warehouse and we will then send out your new filters. I said I paid 2nd day because I needed them now. She suggested me paying for two more. Whatever. After purchasing what I thought would be ovens of a lifetime I could not be more disappointed, frustrated and angry at a company in my buying history! Since November of 2014 and longer I have been fighting for service or answers or at least honesty! The ovens have never worked properly, they do not keep temperature. The oven temperature drops 60 to 75 degrees while cooking over a couple hours. The control board was replaced. Still the ovens never worked. If you like to cook and cook for the bed and breakfast, which is why you bought an oven like this, you will have your ovens on for a couples hours preparing any multi-dish meal! I was treated rudely on the phone during routine troubleshooting and was never allowed to speak to a manager. Dacor for months or so later is buying back my ovens minus a restocking fee, on ovens that dont work, $1200!

I spent a lot of money buying a Dacor double wall oven because it was supposed to be top of the line and dependable. Now, the circuit board needs to be replaced and the oven is just 5 years old! This seems absolutely ridiculous for an oven this young to have such a major problem! I am very upset about all the money I am going to have to spend to fix it. Dangerous condition! I purchased a Dacor 36 dual fuel range 5 years ago. I reported the issue to Dacor via email with no response from customer service. I believe the no response was an attempt by Dacor to distance themselves from their responsibility for this potentially dangerous condition. Specifics: When pre-heating the oven in convection/bake mode, if the oven door is opened before reaching the set pre-heat temperature, a ball of flame will explode up from the opened door. The ball of flame is basketball sized and has singed eyebrows and hair on several occasions. To reiterate - it is a ball of flame, not super-heated air that is the problem. As a result, after non-response from Dacor, we called a decor qualified repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. The igniter was replaced and the problem still exists. I fear that a small child may be severely burned by the engineering design fault.

We purchased a Dacor Epicure dual fuel range when we built our house 7 years ago. It was the most expensive appliance we bought and we wish we hadnt. We have had no problems with the stove top, but the oven, specifically the broiler unit has been a consistent problem. We rarely use the broiler and use the oven perhaps 2 or 3 times a month. Yet, the igniter had to be replaced in March of 2008 and again, in June of 2010. In January of 2011, the broil gas valve was changed and now in September, the broiler is again not working. I cant see pouring any more money into this appliance and will sell as soon as I find a buyer willing to take a chance on it. We have been greatly disappointed in this product.

I purchase a home with a Dacor double oven. Unfortunately the oven begins transmitting multiple beeps and the touch panel will sometimes read off after beeping a while. I contacted the staff at Dacor requesting a service manual. They refused to send me a service manual and stated that only authorized technicians can service their equipment. Its obvious they used google or a local phone book and sent me contacts of appliance repair shops in my area. When I called, they had never heard of Dacor let alone be factory authorized. I called Appliance repair shops up to 50 miles away to find there were no Dacor Dealers. I found one 70 miles away but it was too far to send a technician. If I remove my oven from the wall and take it there they would attempt to look at it. I had to reverse engineer the thing to find that my touch panel has gone bad and now I cannot find a used one. I want to recommend that anyone considering an appliance DO NOT PURCHASE A DACOR! If you are looking for high end stick to SubZero / Wolf. Oddly enough I see that there hasnt been any reviews for the past 5 years. Maybe it appears people have stopped buying Dacor appliances.

We purchased the Model MOH130S in 2006 from a very reputable distributor of high-end appliances. In 2009 we required a service call to deal with temperature control. The oven was out by more than 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This resulted in a relay board, item 101559, to be replaced. Dacor was nice enough to cover the cost of the board, but not the cost of the $152.00 service call. In 2013, guess what? Relay board, this time out by more than 50 degrees, item # 101559 required replacement again only this time it was not covered and cost of $628.00. Here we are, 2016 waiting for the service provider again as temperature is out by over 60 degrees. Roasts, Turkeys, Chickens and everything else have been dying slow deaths in this unit and are awaiting yet another bill to deal with temperature control. Dacor will do nothing until another $150 service call confirms the problem. Hmmm! What to do?

Would highly recommend not spending the money on Dacor. We spent big money on our kitchen hoping for years of trouble free service. We can no longer get parts for our Dacor gas stove/electric oven. The burners click for 2 minutes when you start them. We have gone thru 5 circuit boards. NO LONGER AVAILABLE. The oven light goes on and off by itself. Etc. Etc.

We purchased a Dacor dual fuel oven range in 2008 in conjunction with an extensive kitchen remodel. It was beautiful and expensive. It has had innumerable problems. 2008: One of the igniters broke requiring replacement. 2014: oven stopped working, required new relay board. June 2020: Relay board again broke, oven stopped working. December 2020: Oven stopped working, heating element broke. These were serious problems each resulting in 1-2 months without an oven as the parts had to be special ordered. We have not had an oven since December 2020 (it is now March 2021). We are waiting for a replacement part. In addition, minor problems included a broken indicator light and burner grating. Dacor customer service was only moderately helpful, referring us to local repair companies that had difficulty obtaining parts. Dacor has told us that this should last decades but we are seriously considering replacing it after 12 years because it is very unreliable. I would not recommend a Dacor based on our experience.

I purchased DACOR built in 30 separate side by side freezer & refrigerator on Jan. 18th 2019. After installation (Jan. 31st) a few days later the food and shelves in the freezer started getting a build up of ice. I called to have my freezer looked at and they gave me a service call of Feb. 7th the soonest a Dacor Rep could make it. The Dacor Rep determined that the freezer door was not sealing properly. The rep from Dacor adjusted the door and said the freezer should be fine. It was not. The ice continued build up on my food/shelves. I was instructed to call if I had any further problems. I made several calls starting on Feb. 9th to Dacor customer service, and, Dacor Service Rep. No one called me back. I left messages, I even text the service rep as he told me to do if I had any problems. I also sent pictures via text to him. No call back from anyone! It took me several days to get someone on the phone to find out what could be done with the freezer and why it was icing up. On Feb.13th I spoke to a customer service rep in the corporate office. He asked me to email him pictures of the inside of my freezer which I did. I never heard back from him. No call, no return email, they just don’t acknowledge any voicemail, or even emails. March 7th another customer service rep, she said a new door was being ordered to replace the one I have now, as they decided it was damaged during shipment. She also told me that her service rep recommended I push on the top corner of the freezer door each time I closed it and to keep defrosting the freezer. Why after paying this kind of money am I told to “defrost” my freezer?Fast forward to May and my ice maker stopped making ice… Since this purchase most of the food had freezer burn. I had to pushed on the door as Customer Service suggested as a solution while I wait for them to install a new door or fix the one on it.. I had to throw out about $600 worth of food. In the end I returned the Dacor refrigerator and freezer. The customer service from Dacor is beyond poor. I wished I had read other reviews on this company and their products before I made such a larger purchase. Please do your research before you spend money with Dacor. The company, Monarch Premium Appliances I purchased the Dacor appliances through exchanged them for me. I can’t say enough good things about Monarch and their employees. Both the company and my salesperson, ended up taking a loss in order to make the exchange! Dacor would not allow them to return the appliance. That is just unacceptable. Why should the company carrying their brand be made to take a loss??? Shame on Dacor for that!

My wife and spend $12k on a new Dacor range/oven 15 years ago. The range works well, the LED lights on the gas knobs needed changed once in a while, the oven door wouldn’t close properly and the heat in the oven wasn’t distributed evenly. All that we could live with. Then the oven died. The repair technician ordered the part. Samsung don’t make it anymore. We are now left with no oven. So we have spent $800 a year on a Dacor range that now doesn’t work. Thanks Dacor… or Samsung?

I want to clarify that the warranty that was sold to me by an upscale appliance center was NOT a Dacor extended warranty and I believe that this caused my issues to slip thru the cracks. It was installed in 2017. All they would offer was cheaper replacement parts if I paid for someone to come and figure out what the problem was and install the parts. I was told the replacement parts were not cheap though. I was told that because were the second owner of the house they couldnt fix it under warranty (even though it should be covered under warranty) because they couldnt say how it was used before (commercially or residentially). Give me a break! It gives me almost no confidence in getting this thing fixed. Warranty is a joke and customer service is terrible. So far I had to leave a voicemail for the reps next level who will call me back after the weekend. Im waiting to see what (if anything) they will do but from the first rep. Im on my second Dacor 36 range! I absolutely love this product. The large grates on the cooktop allow me to have multiple things going at the same time and the size of the oven is amazing. The oven takes a full commercial sheet which allows me to cook 3 or 4 dozen cookies at a time! Dacors convection system is undeniably the best in class. I can roast garlic and bake a cake at the same time with zero flavor transfer! My turkey at Thanksgiving is so amazing Martha Stewart would adopt me if she could see it! Weve had these appliances for 15 years. The cooktop has worked well. However, it could be improved with a lower lever for heating on its small burners, allowing it to simmer water rather than boil. The Dacor exhaust we purchased is one of those type that pop up out of the counter. It works but leaves much to be desired. When it runs, it pulls so much air the flame goes out on the burners. It is still not efficient at getting rid of cooking smells or smoke either, but that is simply a problem with all of this design so I cant fault Dacor. We have the biggest problem with the double oven. There are three main issues: 1) Whenever we run the self cleaning function, it pops the heat safety switch inside the oven housing so I need to take it apart to fix it. Hence we work to keep it clean so we never use the cleaning cycle. 2) The oven door gaskets prevent to door from closing and sealing all the way. The door tilts out app. ¾ because of this. We were told by the service guy who came to fix problem 1 above that this is the way the doors are(!). Our bottom one also tilts out but not as much. Ive dealt with this for 14 years! 3) We have to sand the burner electrodes on the cooktop to ensure they spark to light the burners at least 2-4 times per year. Not sure if that is normal or not.

We purchased a Dacor Oven model # ECS 136544 in 2009. Within two years, the relay board and thermostat in addition to an LED bulb required replacement. A year later, the broiler heating element and the second LED light required replacement. Dacors response (800-793-0093) was read your explicit warranty and the implied warranty under Section 2-314 of the Uniform Commercial Code isnt applicable. My Dacor (3 years old) oven top burners igniters dont stop after being turned on, although they are burning. Ive tried drying them for many hours and applying rubbing alcohol. The front ones do this all the time when we turn them on. When we turn the left front burner on, the front right ones igniter does it along with the left! The back ones do it occasionally, so are still usable. Apparently this is a common problem with Dacor units. Why havent they fixed it? Weve had them fix the electronic panel at huge expense, and are not going to call them again. When the back burners stop working, well get another unit. Ive had gas stoves for 30 years and have never experienced anything like this poor quality. Its amazing that they are still in business.

In 2001, I bought a Dacor dual range stove. I paid over $2000. My problem is that there is a defect in the product; when you use the self-cleaning, the outside of the stove cracks up. Dacor has replaced this three times and each time it cracks again. I spoke with them about a year ago and because I didnt continue the warranty, they wouldnt replace it. I carry a home warranty. My stove looks like it came from the junkyard. I understand them not repairing a physical problem with the stove but the outside is crumbling because of a defect in their product. If you dont clean the oven, then you get an error and the only way to get it off is to clean but all that dose causes the outside to crack up more. It pains me to think of buying a new range when I thought I had done my homework, when I choose Dacor. I hope this isnt too late, but it pains me to think after another cleaning I may be forced to buy another stove.

Updated on 09/25/2020: I wrote my original review of Dacor back in June 2020. This was after 4 months after I first started having trouble with my Dacor dishwasher. It is now September 25th, and still waiting on parts from Dacor to get dishwasher fix. Now the $10k refrigerator is not working and have been awaiting parts on it for over two months. This is absolutely the worst “high end” brand I have ever bought. This now a Samsung owned company and is not worth the money. Stay clear if this brand. Look at the other brands in this category like Wolf, Sub Zero, Miele.Original Review: I purchased a complete Dacor Kitchen package worth close to $20k for a home I did a renovation on. We had the dishwasher a month and it has not worked since. Finally they sent out someone to service it. The service tech said nothing was wrong with it. The next day after the servicemen left it was back making the same horrible sounds and AGAIN not working. I called warranty for about the 8th time and all the rep could tell me is... that did we read our manual and make sure we were operating it properly???? WOW!! Im a custom home builder and have bought numerous high end appliances packages and generally have had good service and even replacement if its a major problem. Dacor makes it sound like this is my fault, that they sold me an INFERIOR product!! Dont waste your money on DACOR. Miele, Wolf, Sub Zero all have superior products and service!!

Two years ago, we redid our total kitchen at considerable expense. All of the appliances we replaced were made by Dacor. They included: 1) a 36-inch refrigerator model EF 36/wf; 2) a dual wall oven, model EO230SCH; 3) a gas cook top, Model RGC304; 4) a dishwasher, ModelEDWH24S and; 5) a range hood, ModelEH3012SCH. The problems started within a two months of installation. The refrigerator stopped running due to a relay failure and a compressor problem; both were replaced by Dacor at no cost to us. It was inconvenient but not costly. A short time later, the lower wall oven stopped working as well as the lights in both ovens. This required the replacement of the main control panel (control circuit board). Dacor paid to have it repaired. The clock does not keep accurate time and gains about an hour a day. We decided to leave it well enough alone and did not have it fixed. After the one-year warranty expired, the lower oven quit again. This time, it had to be removed from the wall and an exhaust fan in the lower oven was defective and had to be replaced. Dacor’s initial response was it was out of warranty, so it was up to me to cover repairs. They eventually agreed to supply the part (about $90) but we had to spend several hundred dollars to install. Now, the lower oven takes an extremely long time to heat up, and again we decided to leave it well enough alone. Recently, there was a loud flash in the vent hood; one of the bulbs apparently burned out. My wife tried to turn off the lights in the hood but the light switch apparently blew when the light went and could not turn them off. After a couple of burned fingers and a melted bulb removal tool, I managed to get the other bulb out. A call to Dacor got the usual out of warranty response. I called the local Dacor authorized service rep. He looked at the problem ($95) and said he would have to call Dacor. After he talked to Dacor, they called me and said they would send a replacement control board but would not pay for the service calls. The service company said the next service call would be $195. One light bulb burned out: cost $290. I suspect that every hood unit that Dacor made with this control board is also defective. We have had to replace the halogen bulbs with great regularity. We have halogen bulbs in our boat that have lasted at least 15 years. There was another complaint on this board that had a similar problem with the vent hood. He decided to fix it himself. He is an Electrical Engineer his comments are worth reading and speak to the inadequate design of this unit. It is a shame that the Dacor appliances appear to be near the bottom in terms of reliability. Consumer Reports that their gas cook tops appear to be the least reliable. It looks like I have something to look forward to. Needless to say, I cannot recommend Dacor to anyone. In fact, I would recommend that they not purchase any Dacor product that does not have a full multi-year warranty.

One year ago I completely changed out all appliances in my kitchen. My favorite of the four appliances is the range. We have enjoyed all kinds of new cooking techniques. As my wife put it, I did not realize how crappy my previous range was. Gourmet cooking is what Dacor is founded on and we could not be happier with the performance. Our favorite feature on the refrigerator is the in door water pitcher. Fresh cook water that can be taken to the table and refilled upon placing it back in the refrigerator. The only thing that needed to be replaced was a bent bullnose in the front and the kickplate. I purchased a DACOR PGR-30S LP in 2002. It has had a number of problems due to poor design that required replacing the control panel as well as other parts. However, it has recently developed a gas leak and thus is no longer usable. To fix the gas leak, you must take off the top burners to get to the leak and make a repair. UNFORTUNATELY, DACOR has to make room for new parts and no longer makes the O-Rings required. Yes, apparently a $10 O-Ring takes too much room seven years after I bought my range. So, in 2009, DACOR discontinued making the O-Rings and now I have a very expensive paperweight that I have to take to the dump so that I dont blow up my house. I wouldnt ever buy a DACOR again. The customer service it terrible and they cant even be bothered to carry simple repair parts. Buy a Wolf or some other high end stove because DACOR is literally a piece of junk!

The problem started with our refrigerator unit when it was still in the first year of a 2-year warranty. After five unanswered calls to the customer service number, we were finally able to get through; not that it made a difference. We chose DACOR (8-burner double oven top of the line ERD60S06CH/LP) in 2006, new construction because we disliked the signature blue interior of another luxury brand. Last October I detected a gas leak from one of the burners. The authorized repair company was contacted, and the entire unit - all 8 burners and both ovens were out of commission while we waited for the replacement part. Six weeks later the repair guy returned with the wrong part. We had to wait an additional month for the repair guy to return. Apparently, not important that people might want to cook and bake before the Holidays! After the new valve was replaced the oven light began to turn on when any of the gas valves on the defective side was turned on. I write this review 8 months into the problem. I can fix for $700 by ordering a new control panel. I wish I had read these reviews earlier. I overheard the tech say that there was electrical interference and that the wires need to be insulated to stop the oven light from turning on and off. I am so FED up with both the Dacor California head office not caring and the horrible authorized service company. I will take this unit apart myself and fix it. DACOR IS GARBAGE. Go with Sub-Zero, Miele and forget this Brand. DACOR: Dont Accept Crap Or Rubbish! Made in America? Shame on you. No problems with 4 Sub-Zero fridges, or 4 Miele dishwasher the same age.

I bought my Dacor epicure 36 duel fuel range in 1998. First stove: oven door did not close, spark modulator out. They tried to fix it but failed. They sent me a new stove. #2 stove: same problem with spark modulator. Couldnt use any burner without the constant clicking. Oven didnt bake evenly. Complained. Stove: #3: same problems. Dacor sent me a letter to grade them on their stoves and service. I blasted them. They called me and ask if I wanted my money back or another stove. Stupidly I took the stove. This was 5 years since the original purchase. Ive had this stove #4 for 13 years. Door is and always has been unable to close. I use a stick to close it. Now the relay board is out. Frankly I so love the looks of the stove and I cant afford to get a new one. Original was 5200. Now they are 6700 and I would probably have the same problems. So I am going to try and fix this stove myself. I will never buy Dacor anything ever again, even if I could afford it. When they offer your money back, take it. The service was responsive although didnt solve the problem through 4 stoves. I would gather from that, the design is bad. My mother has a old 1940 gas stove that still works. Gas stoves should not be that complicated.

I purchased my Dacor wall oven in 2008 and have nothing but problems. I have had two computers replaced for over $1000 each and other boards replaced. Problems started just after the manufacturers warranty ended. I consistently get a U60 fan error message, no matter what Im cooking and no matter what cooking cycle Im on. It works for about 15 to 20 minutes and then stops and there is no way to restart or reset it.

I bought a Dacor appliance package for a new custom home which costs over $30K+. Every single piece of appliance is defective. I am OK as long as Dacor can fix or address the issues but it takes them several visits, put the appliance out of order and fixing it does not happen any earlier than 8-10 Weeks. Imagine you living with a fridge, microwave, range and oven for 10+ weeks. The column freezer stops making ice. I call for service and tech informs the lever was jam and he fixed it. Wait 48 hours. After 48 hours still no ice. Another call and after a wait of 3 weeks another visit and diagnose need new part. Wait for part 4+ weeks and another 3+ weeks for replacement. Fridge does not cool and maintains temp 45 degree+. Service tech showed up 3 times and promised it is fixed. Have thrown out thousands of dollars worth food. To date I dont have it fixed. Waiting for a part, tech not available scheduling issues etc. To date I have been out of fridge (8/12/2021) 9 weeks from I made the first call. Currently I have a tech scheduled for 9/1/21.This is not the end. Microwave will run normally and wont heat the food. After several phone call and waiting they figured the door pin was not connecting properly and need parts to fix. After 10+ MONTHS it looks like it is fixed. The range control panel is hanging from underneath and no one seems to care to fix it. Every time I call they tell me its normal. I believe Dacor has not QA/QC in place prior to shipping the appliances to customer. Worst experience ever. If you need more details do not hesitate to call me on **. I hope you run away from Dacor. Dont even consider this option. I have a track of all phone call and email and timeline with Dacor service. I am planning to file a lawsuit and recoup some of the costs and losses.

DONT recommend model #MOH130. We were so impressed with the options that this oven came with. Sadly, with all the bells and whistles also came a ton of repairs. After the 4th repair, our service rep said the relay board needed to be switched out. (Half of the service men who came to my house seemed to be grasping at straws trying to come up with an explanation why the temperature was fluctuating, or why it took so long to heat up, etc.) Then I get to wait 2 weeks for a part to be ordered/arrived and re-schedule service. Last week got code U22 - oven wont even turn on. This oven is only 6 years old. NO THANKS - NEVER AGAIN will I buy anything from this company.

Purchased Dacor Wall Oven EO130SCH in 2011. Rarely used, so never used the self cleaning function. Occasionally wipe with microfiber cloth, eco-friendly cleaners like vinegar and Bon Ami and elbow grease. First problem in 2017 when the oven would not heat up, just before I had guests coming to stay with us. Dacor repair personnel could not make it out for a few weeks, so repaired the issue myself by resetting the thermostat with some creativity and effort. Next problem in 2018 with a U43 relay board error. Can use it for a while if turn off the power to the fuse box for a while, but in 2019 it also started making a clicking noise, and basically not functioning right before I needed it for a party. Cant replace the relay board (which costs more than $300 for the part itself) without pulling out the oven. But why is the relay board failing so quickly? Is there a fan cooling issue? Have talked to Dacor. Poorly designed, poor quality. I would never recommend Dacor.

Our refrigerator is 5 years old and has had a problem with icing up in the freezer area, resulting in a loud noise from the freezer fan. We originally called Dacor for service but they could not get to it for 2 weeks. An appliance repairman installed a new heater for the defroster. This only worked a short time and happened twice with a cost of over $1000. A couple of months ago, it happened again, and we were able to get a hold of ** at Dacor customer service. She knew exactly what was causing the problem. She ordered the parts and directed a factory-approved repairman to install over $800 in parts and we are confident the issue is resolved. I recently complained about my Dacor dishwasher that would stop running during the cycle because of a faulty circuit board and touch pad. The repair would have cost me $500.00 to replace the entire touch pad and circuit board and the Customer Service department was not in the least helpful or concerned. After making the complaint on this site, I received an email the next day from James who was very nice and asked for the model, serial number of my dishwasher and who was the repair company I used. I emailed the information back to him and after verifying my information, he informed me that the parts would be shipped to my house at no cost and I would only have to pay for the service call! Now that was great service from a company who is trying to make good for a bad item in their appliance line. My repair person told me that Dacor is now using a different manufacturer for their dishwasher so hopefully it will be a better product.

We bought a whole new kitchen's worth of Dacor appliances - the Modernist line. It's too soon to review their performance, but so far they work well and look fabulous. Most importantly, I had an issue registering my appliances for warranty. I sent an email and not only did they resolve all my issues, registered everything for me, they also notified me I was eligible for an extended free warranty program, and they set it all up for me without any effort on my part. I wouldn't have even known if they hadn't done it for me. So far, I'd say that they have stellar customer service. When researching online before making the choice to go with Dacor, I had trouble finding information and reviews. I wanted to make sure and share my good experience since all too often people only share when they have had a negative one. I hope this is helpful to someone looking to buy!

Oh how I wish I never bought a Dacor! It has been nothing but problems. I figured I bought a lemon but after reading other reviews its just not a good product with not very good customer service either. I have had repairs every year, and even after repairs it still isnt functioning as it should. The first problem I had was the whole glass window blew out during baking, which seems to me is a huge liability. The company said that shouldnt happen but is out of warranty and would give me a discount on the glass. I thought that was better than nothing but then 6 months later the relay went out, then baking temps were all over the place in the oven so they said I needed a new motherboard and they said both ovens needed it. So those were repaired. Oh ya and the light in the bigger oven hasnt worked past the first year even after having the light changed and some electrical stuff done on it. Then I had the bulbs changed due to irregular oven temps. The temps are still all over the place to this day.The back right corner gets too dark. The front left doesnt brown and is a lower temp. Now Im having problems with the oven turning off during baking and when using broil in the small oven it causes the large ovens probe alarm to go on and offer at least for an hour. Dacor didnt help me with anything past the glass and its only been 7 months since the new motherboards were put in. I cant afford to buy a new oven at this time and so I only use the small oven mainly since the larger has so many problems. Do yourself a favor and never buy a Dacor!

We ran the dishwasher 1 cycle and it worked just fine. Tried to run it again later that day, and the LC code was back again. To resolve the issue, I worked with the company I bought my appliances through to replace the Dacor dishwasher with a Bosch. That happened today, so it is too early to tell say how the Bosch works, but it is more solidly built, has more capacity and the door fully opens with the panel installed.Dacor did reach out to me to try to resolve this issue, so kudos to their customer support, but the issues were just too many. Purchased a Dacor freezer. Freezer does not come with outer panel. Understandably, because you can choose to put your own custom panel on or order one from Dacor. Found out Dacor was bought by Samsung, a few years ago. So I decided to order a Stainless steel door from Dacor. One of Dacors reps suggested I order from J@J international. I placed order and two days later they called back saying they cannot ship door to me UPS nor FedEx will ship it. They refunded my money, so I reordered from someone else. Got ss panel toe kick and handle. Opened box only to find out no hardware, brackets ss trim for sides screws and so forth. I assumed mounting hardware would be with door. So began the part search for parts. Come to find out Samsung changed Dacors part #s. Vendors who sell the parts could not come up with parts or told me not available. Reliable parts agent told me this. I was told they should have come with freezer. Meanwhile called back Dacor to someone who specializes in dealing with these issues. She took over 45 minutes of my time giving me the impression she was gonna resolve the issue. She finally said we have the parts and inferred that I must have not talked to reliable parts. I assured her I did. She continued to refute what I told her. I have been right at two months trying to get freezer door installed. I called an Appliance dealer in Salisbury Md. to get assistance. He told me when Samsung bought Dacor he dropped line. I now see why. It has been the worst experience I have had with a company that has absolutely done nothing but appear to be concerned and say they are sorry but do nothing. It looks like it will be another 750.00 to get a couple little trims and brackets and a few screws. If I had it to do over I would never have gone down this road. This has been a two month old nightmare that is still going on. Best advice I can give is steer clear of Dacor/Samsung. Was going to buy matching column refrigerator. Not now.

We moved into our home in 2012 and have had nothing but problems with our Dacor refrigerator (Dacor Model EF48DCBSS). Our issue is the drain pan heater AGAIN. This problem is, water that collects in the drain pan freezes and eventually builds up to a point where the fan motor starts hitting it, sounding like a helicopter landing in your kitchen! Weve had this problem repaired THREE times by TWO DIFFERENT repair companies to the tune of $1000. Both repair technicians said it was a design flaw and this problem would continue to happen regardless of how many icing kits were replaced. So a $7000 refrigerator will cost us $1000 a year to keep running?!?!?! After much research, its apparent we are not alone with this problem. We also had a Dacor microwave just STOP working (model #DMT2420S). It was only 8 years old. Our Dacor oven range (model #ER48DSCH) has two ovens and only one side retains the heat. The main side gets to about 300 degrees and then the temperature starts dropping. Here is the breakdown of costs for our so called high end appliances. Dual Fuel Range - $10000, refrigerator - $7000 (annual repairs of $1000), microwave - $500 (had to purchase new microwave $600). PLEASE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE AND DO NOT PURCHASE DACOR APPLIANCES. We have a refrigerator/freezer that we bought from Sears SIXTEEN years ago for $500. Still works like a charm! And thank God we have it, because it has had to be our backup for our $7000 Dacor.

We purchased a Dacor induction range 5 years ago which cost $5000 plus installation parts and service costs totalling $10000. Two days ago, an error code showed up indicating that the generator needs replacement. I contacted Dacor who states that the part is discontinued but that I could contact a refurbishing company (Corecentric) to send my generator to for possible repair. A service technician would have to remove the generator, I would send the part to Corecentric, then IF they can repair it, the tech needs to reinstall it. There are no service providers that Dacor referred me to that will service a refurbished part. Even if I wanted to try, I as an owner, cannot remove it myself because Dacor does not provide the service manual to do so. I spoke to Dacor multiple times about this problem and management stated that since the product is so out of warranty that they cannot offer any other repair option, compensation, or replacement even if the part is deemed unrepairable by Corecentric. When you pay $10000 for a product I expect it to last more than five years and that a reputable company would stand by their product and service. Essentially, Dacor inferred that we are out of $10000 because a part that POSSIBLY can be refurbished for $215 plus service costs, cant get serviced and Dacor takes no further responsibility. I have heard stories from appliance providers and service providers that since Dacor joined Samsung, that their customer service is poor and products have become inferior.

Dacor Distinctive Series Range model DR30D - One week after the appliance warranty expired, the oven stopped heating. The repair man replaced the circuit board. We still got a code 33 when we try to get the oven to heat to 400 degrees. Called customer service, they said to flip the breaker to the unit off for a few minutes. Seemed to help but we do not use the oven much, as we also have a Meile microwave/oven that we love and use that more. Then I cleaned the oven using only the ovens program. That locked down all of the gas cook top knobs. I called the repair service, it snowed on the Saturday of the appointment. They cancelled. I did not check the stove on Sunday. On Monday the repair service walks in and simply turns it on, no problem. VERY FISHY!!! I have heard the manufacture can control it by computer chips. This appears to be very true. I have had my 30 inch Dacor Dual Fuel Range since 2002. In the past month, the oven door seems to be falling apart. I had to replace the oven door handle after the handle cracked in the spots on the right hand side where the screws go in. When I tried to screw the new handle in, I noticed that the front panel on the door is lifting away from the door. It is more separated on the right hand side which leads me to believe that it is the reason that the handle cracked on that side. As a result, the handle cannot be properly installed. The only way this can be repaired is to call someone in to do it and it will either have to be glued together or the whole door would need replacing. Reading these forums, Im worried that my oven problems are just beginning and I dont want to start sinking money into this oven. I purchased a Dacor as I believed it was a high quality product and that it would be worth the money and last a long time. This type of problem should not be occurring. I do not consider 10 years a long time for a product like this. My sister has had her Jenn Air oven for almost 20 years and it has no signs of wearing out.

Dacor Epicure Dual Fuel Range and Microwave - Where to begin? Perhaps at the end is best. Dacor appliances are shoddy, unreliable, outrageously expensive to repair and there is no customer support. That about covers it. We bought the above noted pair during our kitchen renovations 8 years ago. We thought that Dacor was a premium brand that would give us long trouble free service. How wrong we were! The only thing Premium about them is the price. 4 years ago, the microwave door refused to latch. Thanks to YouTube, I found out how to remove the door backing and found that the plastic part that comprised the latch was broken. Dacor was contacted - they no longer had the part. Try the open market I was told. I managed to jury rig a repair by using a wooden shim. 3 years ago, the range packed it in. Another repair - this time I was told it was the circuit board that had failed and which was replaced to the tune of $700 and I was cautioned that the second circuit board was not working very well - the interior light would not illuminate and the blue lights indicating a lit burner didnt work, and I should change it too. The smaller circuit board was costed out at $400. Last week, the door latch motor failed and the range began to beep incessantly. Now the oven cannot be used and repair costs quoted over the phone were in the 1000$ range. Thats it for us. Dacor is junk and belongs where its headed - the junkyard. Dont buy Dacor. Live and learn I guess.

I have been very disappointed in the reliability of our Dacor refrigerator, model EF42BDCBSS, purchased in 2007. The first circuit board went out in 2008 within 6 months of the initial purchase. A replacement part could not be located. It was still under warranty so they replaced the whole unit. In 2010, we had to have another repair to regulate the temperature of the freezer. Last week (October 2012), the circuit board went out again! Even though the unit itself is less than five years old, it is no longer under warranty. Dacor goes by the original installation date. I contacted Dacor and spoke with LS who basically stated that all they could offer was a discount on the part. This repair is costing us over $650, not including the loss of food. We paid to have the part second day. When we called back the next day to get a tracking number for the shipment of the part, we were told by another representative that the part had not shipped because it was out of stock in the default warehouse. He was able to locate it in another warehouse and get it shipped the same day. I called LS back and she stated that she never promised when it would ship, but when it did, it would go second day. I would not expect this type of repair cost and attitude on a refrigerator that was over $9,000 when new. Now, I am concerned with the liability of our range and microwave, which are of the same Dacor brand. The main reason I took the time to write this email is to make retailers aware of the situation and ask that you seriously look at the reputation of the Dacor appliance line and decide if you really want to promote this product to your customers. Dacor could care less about their customers and/or reputation.

We remodeled our kitchen less than 5 years ago. As we have owned restaurants in the past, we wanted commercial quality appliances. I was looking at Sub-Zero and Viking or Wolf. Unfortunately I took my Home Center convince me to purchase A Dacor package. That was a mistake. Even though these appliances cost as much as the those brands, the quality is not even close. After spending $22,000 on appliances I have quickly discovered that these appliances are junk. First the microwave began to arc and nearly caught fire. Even when they installed my cooktop. I noticed that the burners in the middle were marked incorrectly and the blue LED indicating the burners are on was burnt out. After only a few years, now my ovens are not working. And right before Thanksgiving I am without ovens. My old ovens were almost 50 years old and worked fine. These $6000 plus ovens are not even 5 years old and are down. I am kicking myself for not going with my original plan. If you are considering Dacor, I would not recommend.

Ive had the pleasure of owning a PGR30S range from Dacor for the past 20 years now, I must say it has past all my expectations on performing in the kitchen. This unit cooks everything amazingly well... Thank you Dacor for such a great range.

This will be the third service call on my Dacor Built-in Refrigerator with the freezer making icicles and the fan making a loud noise. On top of that, I have two light bulbs in the freezer that went out from the ordeal. From my review of the complaints here on Consumer Affairs, I see Im not the only one with this issue. This is a yearly problem, and I hope Dacor would step up and resolve this for me since it truly is a poor design issue and no fault of mine.

Updated on 01/25/2021: After my review in December of 2020 I have continued to fight for a resolution with Dacor. Dacor appeared to be unable to resolve the issue and sent the issue to parent company Samsung. Samsung set up an appointment for repair then cancelled it saying parts were not available and that they would authorize a refund. I supplied the invoice and filled out all necessary documentation, including my banking information so they could wire the money. Today, a Samsung representative called and said I needed to talk to Dacor to finish the process, even though I was told everything was approved.I called Dacor and to no ones surprise they said this would have to be approved and only one person can make that decision and they are hard to get in touch with. Oh, and by the way, 10 days ago the second oven failed. Yes, the large oven that did not work when I purchased the unit. It was repaired in September and has already failed again. I now have a double oven Dacor range and neither works. This week begins my 10th week of fighting with Dacor for them to honor my warranty (again the unit was installed in August 2020) or refund the purchase price. At this point the range has been out of commission half the time I have owned it. I strongly suggest you heed the warnings here on this site. I wish I had listened.Original Review: On August 3, 2020 I purchased a 48 Dacor Gas Range. It was installed a couple of weeks later and the large oven did not work. It took better than a week for Dacors authorized service company to come out and diagnose the problem. The parts took another week to be shipped and then another week to have the repair made. It was a defective thermostat that was preventing the oven from igniting.Fast forward to November 24. In preparing for a big Thanksgiving, we turned on the small oven, only to find that it did not turn on. It had the exact symptom as the large over and would not ignite. I reached out by email to the agent at Dacor who had worked with me before, only to receive the below response: Thank you for contacting Dacor – We are no longer able to provide support by e-mail. Please contact us at U.S. Toll free: 833-353-5483 we are happy to provide personal support. Now begins the worst customer service experience of my lifetime. After opening a case, I have now talked with a dozen different agents and have yet to receive a resolution to my problem - a range that cost over $7,000 that did not work out of the box and has now failed again in a three-month period. I have spent hours on the phone and on hold and was eventually directed to Samsung on December 9 because Dacor could not get the parts. Samsung promised to refund the purchase price of the product is the parts did not come available by December 16.December 16 rolled around and now Dacor is saying that Samsung made the promise, but that they are different companies. Remember, Dacor directed me to Samsung and Samsung does own Dacor. I have been told that the parts for my oven are no longer available. After continuing to push the issue I am told that it is now in management review but that it may take 2 weeks for a decision on my case. It has now been nearly a month since I opened the case and I appear no closer to reaching a resolution on my failed Dacor range. I have asked to speak with a manager, but I keep being told this is not possible right now.I do believe that Dacor is in breach of their warranty. I have been more than reasonable in allowing them to remedy the situation. Since this was installed just over four months ago, it has been out of service in one of the two ovens for a total of 7 weeks. For anyone considering the purchase of a Dacor appliance, I strongly caution you to read the reviews on this site and other sites. If you are lucky and get an appliance that works and never fails, you might be happy. If you ever have to invoke your warranty you will hate your life. I regret that I did not heed the warnings. It is truly unbelievable to me that in 2020, any company can stay in business when they display such disregard for their customers. Be warned.

I purchased a 30 Dacor dual fuel range and matching hood in 2004. I paid $4009 for the range and $948 for the hood. The range and hood have been nothing but problems. I wrote to Dacor in April 2009 detailing the problems with the range with service history dating back to 2006. Problems include overheating when cleaning which is a safety risk, replacement of cooling fan, ignitor assay, part # 92309 membrane, and replacement of relay board in 2007, 2009 and again December of 2011. I attempted to purchase a Dacor extended service agreement in January 2009 but was declined due to the ranges past history and its age. I recently found this site which indicates that other consumers have had similar problems with Dacor products. Dacor has lost me as a customer as I will never buy another Dacor product! I have been disappointed and frustrated with their lack of response and support. I finally purchased a GE service contract which has helped absorb some of the cost of ongoing repairs. The overhead lighting has long since gone out in the hood. I was told the hood needs to be disassembled to replace the lights. Dacor should step up and support its products. When most people put out $4000 for a range, they expect to get a quality product that will last 15-20 years. With Dacor, this has definitely not been the case!

Dacor EO227SCH - double wall oven. Installed all Dacor appliances when we did a kitchen renovation in 2008. Stove top, Micro Wave and Warming Drawer each have been excellent. Ovens have been a nightmare. Dacor would not honor warranty 7 days after it expired. Had no less than a dozen service calls in first 3 years. Ovens conveniently have problems around holidays. Example: lower oven quit working two days before this Thanksgiving - last week! Paid a high price to get Dacor and have paid thousands and spent countless hours on service calls since. Am totally dissatisfied with Dacor products and the companys refusal to stand behind its product. I tell everyone who is contemplating Dacor not to. Did it today with a couple who signed a contract for a $1M home in N Atlanta. Builder specified Dacor and I strongly advised against it. Homebuilder is now looking at other options.

I would never buy another Dacor product. The microwave totally crashed and now the oven will not heat. I have had contact in the past regarding repairs and they are outrageous. I plan to replace both items rather than paying unreasonable costs. Very unhappy.

My Dacor oven (DO130S, S/N V-A-10160044) is less than 18 months old. While it was in use, it popped, sparked, tripped the circuit breaker, and died. I called customer service, and voiced my concern on safety due to potential electrical defect. Steven, the customer service person advised me that this oven is no longer in warranty, and to call a repair service. I reiterated the concern for product safety. He placed me on hold, and the call was dropped. I called again, and Mike answered. I repeated the same info, and he was not willing to listen to any concerns. He hung up on me. This experience does reflect on published Dacors commitment to customer service, or product safety.

Our Dacor oven is 2 years old and the oven door stopped closing all the way
Our Dacor oven is 2 years old and the oven door stopped closing all the way, rending it inoperable. The company is now owned by Samsung. I tried to schedule a service call to repair/replace the door hinges. This should be a simple process. However, because I purchased the oven through a designer and Dacor dealer, I had to track down the order verification to demonstrate that I am the original owner of the oven (this is in addition to providing a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase). It took several days to resolve this issue with my designer and rep who sold me the oven. Then, I scheduled the service call on the phone only to receive an email hours later advising me that the service call had been cancelled. No explanation was provided. After rescheduling the service call several times only to have each call cancelled, something finally worked with Samsungs tracking system and the service call actually took place.Dacor is the Mercedes of ovens and I expect a service call to be a little more expensive. However, other providers of luxury products facilitate the product support to minimize customer aggravation. Samsung needs to work on its product support and customer service. I would not purchase a Dacor product again since there are several other manufacturers that provide comparable luxury kitchen appliances with much strong customer support.
