I have a Dacor cooktop, single wall oven, warming drawer, and dishwasher that I installed in my kitchen in 1992. That is 20 years ago. I have never had a problem or needed a repair on any of the appliances. They have worked perfectly. I hate reading about all the problems people are having with their Dacor appliances as I am about to do a major kitchen remodel and plan to go with Dacor again.

Updated on 05/11/2021: I wrote a review about my terrible Dacor stove, and I was amazed when I was notified within a couple of days that Dacor wanted to help resolve my issue. I was asked to provide some basic personal information, which I dutifully supplied. That was weeks ago and I havent heard a peep since, and I doubt I will. Clearly they do this just so they can mark these reviews as Resolution in progress to make it seem like theyre doing something to help. But as far as I can tell its nothing but a smokescreen. Dont be fooled by resolutions in progress.Original: Our Dacor stove is the worst stove I have ever owned or lived with in my 50+ years. Within 2 years after we bought it, the oven had stopped working twice and 2 of the 4 knobs broke. (Ive never had a knob break on any stove before.) Luckily an appliance repair person (not specific to Dacor) was able to get the oven working both times but told us replacement knobs were not available. We have tried generics but nothing fits. I have been juggling 2 knobs on 4 burners for more than 3 years now, and STILL Dacor has no replacements available. Six months ago we inquired again and were told they had a new model of knobs available that would fit, but we ordered them and they were on back order and never became available. Meanwhile Dacor had already processed our payment for them (which is illegal, I believe) so we had to deal with getting that refunded because our hope of the knobs ever being in stock was gone. This is also the loudest electric oven Ive ever owned. It sounds like convection is on every time you use it, whether or not its actually set on convection. That lasts for 20 minutes after you turn off the oven, too. Also, periodically the stove emits a loud BEEP and resets its computer for no apparent reason, sometimes when Im cooking (oh, you had a timer going? TOO BAD - who knows when it will be ready now!) and sometimes when the stove isnt even on at all (just thought you might like to reset the clock - AGAIN).Furthermore, the oven door has a special design with an open space at the base that allows dog hair to get sucked in from under the stove and collect between the 2 layers of glass. So we get to view our food through dirty HAIR. Apparently thats why the oven is so loud, because it takes a lot to suck up all that hair from under the stove. This can be cleaned, but you have to remove the door to get to it, which is not easy - I cant do it myself. Its so embarrassing when we have people over for dinner; I just hope nobody notices the hairball in the oven door. After reading through the other Dacor reviews I consider myself lucky to be able to cook at all. Buyer beware, dont EVER buy anything from this brand. Its total (expensive) crap and customer service is nonexistent.

Dacor representative has been helpful in responding to my complaint and has sent new oven racks which I greatly appreciate. I was able to send them pictures of the damaged racks. I want to clarify that the warranty that was sold to me by an upscale appliance center was NOT a Dacor extended warranty and I believe that this caused my issues to slip thru the cracks. Nothing can be done about the interior that seems to have a film of sorts on it, short of replacing, but I am grateful that Dacor customer service went out of the way to correct the problem with the racks.

Our initial dishwasher had many problems. After several service calls, we called Dacor to identify the issue and see if there was anything they could do for us. We received a brand new dishwasher (even better than the initial one) for a nominal cost. We would like to thank Dacor for their excellent service and attention. Its not always the issue, but the resolution that makes the difference.

We remodeled our kitchen and decided to use the range as the focal point of the room. The decision to go with a Dacor ER36DSCH dual fuel range over comparable Wolf and Viking models as well as a Dacor heating drawer was made, a decision I have regretted since. Our unit keeps blowing the baking element ($200) which routinely fails at the most inopportune times. To date I have replaced four and the Mrs. recently informed me that the oven is once again not heating properly. Thankfully, I am competent enough to diagnosis and repair it myself and did a thorough operational inspection and cleaning which revealed the broil element ($180) had also gone bad this time. My wife hates this oven and unfortunately it sits right smack in the middle of our beautiful kitchen to remind us of the bad decision we made. In fact, we are now at the point where we are considering replacing it and sending it to a scrap yard where it belongs. Avoid this brand or it will cost you.

The refrigerator is nice, however for the price, I would have expected a bit more. It has a lot of bells and whistles, but when the ice maker can’t keep up with 6 people at dinner time, that’s a problem. The best part of the refrigerator is the auto fill water pitcher.

My Decor Epicurian oven and range has been a nightmare from day one. I have had the oven for about 8 years and had it repaired so many times I have lost count and had spent at least $2000 on repairs. We have experienced motherboard burn out, membrane failure, temperature control malfunctions, error messages that cause incessant beeping. Nearly all of the problems that have been described in this list of complaints, I have had the problems themselves multiple times! Now, I am panicking a bit because I decided to use the self clean function on my oven this morning and now, I have read some sad malfunction stories following the use of this feature. I am so torn about whether I should just cancel the cleaning process. I do not want to risk having the oven malfunction again, but the thing really needs to be cleaned.

Warning: Warning, safety hazzard for all, adults and children. Recommendation: The knobs should be set on the top of the stove, not the front where children can reach. Control knobs should click when fire and gas is turned off, and highest flame setting should be at the end of the turn just like a clock. I inherited this range as new owner of the house. Today I used the high flame option of the gas stove. When I was done with cooking, I turned off the gas according to the knob position, front of the turn. Later I discovered the range was not exactly off. It was still hot but no flame could be seen.I checked by sight the control knob position, it was set incorrectly in off. Then I touched it and realized the knob actually has a bit more to go to the end, slightly before the off position. Therefore it continues to release gas with unobservable flame. This knob does not click when user turns it to the off position. It is just a silent knob with an inaccurate cue of a heavier black line for off and on indication. Besides, high flame setting comes at the beginning of the turn of the knob rather than the end, it is counter intuitive to our mind of increase heat by turning the knob further on, like our clock. Oven racks are hard to put back after cleaning. Once a rack almost tumble out while food was sitting on it.

Updated on 01/25/2021: After my review in December of 2020 I have continued to fight for a resolution with Dacor. Dacor appeared to be unable to resolve the issue and sent the issue to parent company Samsung. Samsung set up an appointment for repair then cancelled it saying parts were not available and that they would authorize a refund. I supplied the invoice and filled out all necessary documentation, including my banking information so they could wire the money. Today, a Samsung representative called and said I needed to talk to Dacor to finish the process, even though I was told everything was approved.I called Dacor and to no ones surprise they said this would have to be approved and only one person can make that decision and they are hard to get in touch with. Oh, and by the way, 10 days ago the second oven failed. Yes, the large oven that did not work when I purchased the unit. It was repaired in September and has already failed again. I now have a double oven Dacor range and neither works. This week begins my 10th week of fighting with Dacor for them to honor my warranty (again the unit was installed in August 2020) or refund the purchase price. At this point the range has been out of commission half the time I have owned it. I strongly suggest you heed the warnings here on this site. I wish I had listened.Original Review: On August 3, 2020 I purchased a 48 Dacor Gas Range. It was installed a couple of weeks later and the large oven did not work. It took better than a week for Dacors authorized service company to come out and diagnose the problem. The parts took another week to be shipped and then another week to have the repair made. It was a defective thermostat that was preventing the oven from igniting.Fast forward to November 24. In preparing for a big Thanksgiving, we turned on the small oven, only to find that it did not turn on. It had the exact symptom as the large over and would not ignite. I reached out by email to the agent at Dacor who had worked with me before, only to receive the below response: Thank you for contacting Dacor – We are no longer able to provide support by e-mail. Please contact us at U.S. Toll free: 833-353-5483 we are happy to provide personal support. Now begins the worst customer service experience of my lifetime. After opening a case, I have now talked with a dozen different agents and have yet to receive a resolution to my problem - a range that cost over $7,000 that did not work out of the box and has now failed again in a three-month period. I have spent hours on the phone and on hold and was eventually directed to Samsung on December 9 because Dacor could not get the parts. Samsung promised to refund the purchase price of the product is the parts did not come available by December 16.December 16 rolled around and now Dacor is saying that Samsung made the promise, but that they are different companies. Remember, Dacor directed me to Samsung and Samsung does own Dacor. I have been told that the parts for my oven are no longer available. After continuing to push the issue I am told that it is now in management review but that it may take 2 weeks for a decision on my case. It has now been nearly a month since I opened the case and I appear no closer to reaching a resolution on my failed Dacor range. I have asked to speak with a manager, but I keep being told this is not possible right now.I do believe that Dacor is in breach of their warranty. I have been more than reasonable in allowing them to remedy the situation. Since this was installed just over four months ago, it has been out of service in one of the two ovens for a total of 7 weeks. For anyone considering the purchase of a Dacor appliance, I strongly caution you to read the reviews on this site and other sites. If you are lucky and get an appliance that works and never fails, you might be happy. If you ever have to invoke your warranty you will hate your life. I regret that I did not heed the warnings. It is truly unbelievable to me that in 2020, any company can stay in business when they display such disregard for their customers. Be warned.

As an add-on to my original review, I had a a service call to address the LC error code. The service company reconnected my unit, turned it on, ran a couple tests, and declared there was no issue. We ran the dishwasher 1 cycle and it worked just fine. Tried to run it again later that day, and the LC code was back again. To resolve the issue, I worked with the company I bought my appliances through to replace the Dacor dishwasher with a Bosch. That happened today, so it is too early to tell say how the Bosch works, but it is more solidly built, has more capacity and the door fully opens with the panel installed.Dacor did reach out to me to try to resolve this issue, so kudos to their customer support, but the issues were just too many. And as I stated in my original review, love the Dacor range top, double oven and refrigerator.

Dacor ERD30s06BK/LP - thought reputation was good. Quality seemed outstanding. Like: Appearance; Dislike: Performance, Reliability, Serviceability, Quality of parts, Availability of parts. In a word: Dont buy a Dacor! Ive learned that if you have a repair person/organization you can depend on ask them to suggest the best appliance based on their repair experience and their ability to obtain parts. Dacor has already replaced range once. Oven interior cracked when self-clean was used. Stovetop burner ignitors frequently continue to spark after flame is established. Stovetop burners will sometimes extinguish when flame is low. This experience showed me that just because an appliance is expensive, it doesnt mean good performance or high quality. Because of the cost of replacement we have lived with the Dacor until the next major repair is not possible because of lack of available of parts or cost.

We had our whole kitchen renovated and purchased Dacor appliances through Caplans Appliances. We purchased the appliances in the summer of 2019 and they were shipped shortly after. Since our kitchen was still under construction the appliances sat in our home. They were installed the second week of November. Two months ago, I woke up to a sucking noise from the dishwasher. The dishwasher had a code of LC. We removed the custom kick plate to realize that there was water damage. Dacor has been contacted on numerous occasions regarding this and the dishwasher continues to leak. We have had 5 service calls to house and the problem persists. The seal has been replaced twice in a 2 week period. The repair company HARGTA gives us a window and does not show up at that time causing me to sit around all day waiting for them and then some days having to cancel work. Dacor customer service continues to say the Regional Tech Manager will be the one to provide the resolution and we have not heard from them yet. The reviews on here clearly indicate that the dishwasher leaks. We are risking damaging our floors which were put in at the same of our renovation. Looking for a resolution ASAP. To those considering Dacor appliances do your research.

We purchased the Dacor modernist Refrigerator, after waiting several weeks to get it installed we noticed the water dispenser did not function properly, we contacted the retailer whom we purchased the appliance from and after several back and forth emails to verify our proof of purchase they put us in touch with a repair technician. After a few days they came to our home to review the issue and noted that this was a known design issue with the refrigerator and that our house water pressure maybe too high and they would have to come back out and install a special valve to fix the issue. Later they called and said Dacor will not acknowledge this as their issue and to call a plumber. After spending over $20k on Dacor appliances I would have thought their white glove VIP customer service would be better. Buy Viking!

One year ago I completely changed out all appliances in my kitchen. My favorite of the four appliances is the range. We have enjoyed all kinds of new cooking techniques. As my wife put it, I did not realize how crappy my previous range was. Gourmet cooking is what Dacor is founded on and we could not be happier with the performance. Our favorite feature on the refrigerator is the in door water pitcher. Fresh cook water that can be taken to the table and refilled upon placing it back in the refrigerator. And the combi-microwave is an incredible second oven. All products have performed as advertised and promoted, and with a three year warranty whats not to love? Thanks Dacor for making amazing beautiful appliances.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2007 and bought the High-end Dacor side by side fridge and oven set. The fridge has been down FIVE times in 8 years and we have replaced elements, etc on the stove at 5 years. Horribly built and product support has been near non-existent, even during warranty period. I would not recommend this product line to anyone. If it was just one appliance or the other OR if the product support was there, I would not be as upset! Front bevel of my first rsd30 range purchased in California in 1999 cracked
Front bevel of my first rsd30 range purchased in California in 1999 cracked within nine months. Dacor said it was a defect in the design and would fix it for free. I sold the house in 2001 but the range was still not fixed. I moved to Nevada and bought a new rsd30 range and same thing happened within six months. It took a year to get it fixed at their expense. This bevel also cracked again for the second time in March 2011. Their response to this was to offer me a new bevel for $180 and I would have to pay for the installation. I declined the offer. The bevel is still cracked at this time. At the same time, I bought a PMOR30 over the range microwave and the front handle broke at least four times. And finally, the whole thing broke down and was not repairable. In Aug. 2008, I contacted Dacor and they agreed to replace it with a new DMT2420 over the counter microwave for half the price ($390). Last week, this one blew up on me. Sparks were coming out through the side and a big hole in the removable shield and burn damage to the wall of the unit. I do not believe this unit is repairable. I contacted Michael at Dacor. He apologized and said that theres nothing they can do about it as it is out of warranty but they will look into it. What I want at this point is my money back that I paid for ($390) and for them to pick up the unit and get it out of my house. I will never buy another Dacor product again.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2001 and bought a Dacor Epicure 30 dual fuel range. The gas cooktop has never been a problem, unlike the oven which has been a problem from the first week with unpredictable temperature variations. Multiple holiday meals have seen the extended family waiting for dinner for two hours because the oven decided to be cool that day. The advice from Dacor: preheat your oven for several hours before you need it or my favorite from a repairman: you must be slamming your oven door. Not helpful. Several expensive repairs later (over $2100) and one fire in the oven now it wont turn on at all. We are going to try one last time to repair it and then we are done. I do not recommend Dacor to anyone - too expensive to have such terrible quality and service.

This range has never cooked anything well, overlooked and undercooked. Several technician visits, board replaced, thermostat replaced, starts error messages and clicking all on its own. Recently the cooktop has exploded with a big BOOM 3 times. We finally turned off the gas and Im cooking outside with the camping stove and BBQ. I am so upset about the explosions that I am shaking. We did a full reno on our house starting in 2018. With a brand new kitchen we felt higher end appliances would help finish it off nicely. We settled on Dacor from our appliance dealer due to the look a past history of great reviews. Had we known that the original Dacor no longer existed and it was now Samsung with Dacor nameplate we never would have bought them. We have had 15+ service calls for the fridge and oven. Oven didnt work from day one and required multiple board changes. The interior is not level so you cant bake a cake and the racks are impossible to remove without bending the rails. It just failed again last night just as the warranty expired. The call center is in the Caribbean so dont expect any help from customer service. If anyone else has this experience with Dacor ovens, we need to have a class action suit against Dacor! While baking Christmas cookies this week with my grandchildren, my ovens stopped working and started beeping. The error code was F3. I was able to get a technician rather quickly who diagnosed the problem as a failure of the control board which affected both ovens. The replacement part was discontinued from production in 2011. My ovens are 12 years old and cost over $4,000 at the time. What a pickle I was in a week before family coming for Christmas dinner! The technician said my only recourse was to send the control board to a refurbisher and he did not know when the board would be fixed - all for a whopping costs of over $600.00! I find it unacceptable that Dacor discontinues a control board and forces the consumer to either buy new ovens or pay the cost of a refurbished part that I hope will work. After spending thousands of dollars, how does this happen? What can be done so the consumers who purchase appliances with good intentions are protected from manufacturers that dont stand behind their products? DACOR I NEED ANSWERS!!

Years ago I purchased the Dacor Double Oven over a Thermador because the Thermador had a ridiculously long pre-heat time. The Dacor has performed reasonably well as a oven particularly in convection-bake mode. But over time, components started failing and repair parts were hard to find, unavailable or ridiculously overpriced. I am an an engineer with DIY skills honed from years working with high tech food manufacturing equipment and controls including ovens. In recent years, I have needed to replace a relay board, the main control board, hinges two times, and most recently the hinge receptacles. I have also replaced an inner panel on a door assembly. Just think what such repairs would have cost for an average consumer. I understand the parts can fail, but Dacor has shown little regard for consumers in my opinion. They have done very little to maintain an inventory of repair parts. Basically their message is that the part is now obsolete and unavailable. Thats some answer when the price of a new double oven is multiple thousands. Recently, the hinges on my upper oven failed again. As they failed, their failure caused increased wear on the hinge receptacles. Soon the receptacles failed as well. I was able to find hinges at a ridiculously high price but the receptacles were unavailable anywhere. I contacted a several parts suppliers who told me that they had no idea when the parts would be available. Moreover at least two of the suppliers mentioned that they had a backlog of orders for the receptacles - one had a backlog of over thirty. Yikes!. At that point I contacted Dacor customer service and asked what could I do to get the part. Answer: The part is unavailable and we have no estimate on when it will be available. I tried to escalate my request and got nowhere. Finally after many hours of online searching, I found one set of the hinge receptacles at a price 4X last years price. Lastly as I replaced the receptacles today, I realized that the mounting screws only hold one portion of the U shaped mount. If the screws were longer, the receptacle would be less prone to twisting and wear. Be aware that Dacor was sold to Samsung a few years back. Based on my experience, I could never recommend Dacor. Caveat Emptor!

The fresh zone adjustable drawer can go colder than the standard refrigerator compartment, so I keep it at just below freezing for my beer and champagne. Makes ice super quickly and I feel that the produce also lasts longer. Overall, very happy with this purchase and when I do a full kitchen remodel, I will be considering their cooking products as well.

We renovated our kitchen and as part of this had installed the new Dacor Modernist Fridge and Freezer columns at a VERY hefty price tag. We were going to get a subzero and changed our minds when we saw these products - the styling, design and function looked so much better than Sub-Zero, despite the higher price tag. Well, fast forward about 8 months and we dont have a functioning fridge. It stopped cooling out of nowhere. We had to throw everything away. After FINALLY getting a repair person to the house, they told me that it was because the fridge had run out of gas (freon or whatever the coolant is thats used). When asked how that happened they said they didnt know, but that they couldnt repair it as they needed a part from Dacor. A WEEK later, they finally got the part and came back to repair the fridge. 4-5 hours later it still was not repaired and they said they needed another part. Its been almost two weeks since then and the part has still not arrived. We had a BlueStar range installed when redoing the kitchen and when we had a problem with that, they overnighted the part, so that they could fix it right away. This is not the case here - the customer service has been absolutely horrendous and Ferguson Appliances (where I bought the fridge from) has been at their wits end with this (I cant say enough about how wonderful Ferguson has been to deal with). This has been a nightmare. Now the repair place wont even schedule a repair date because they dont want to lose the time again in case the part doesnt show up again... DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE. I should have known better not to buy a Samsung (yes, Samsung bought Dacor a few years ago and these products are glorified Samsung units).

Purchased a Dacor Epicure ER36DSCH/NG RANGE and oven in 2007. Sad story, it never worked properly since day 1. Initially a gas burner did not light, they came and repaired it. Subsequently the door lock failed in the lock position - had that repaired. The door lock failed the next year again, this time thanksgiving, ruined the dinner. They fixed it but the following year the lower burner element failed at Thanksgiving. All my relatives know not to purchase a Dacor product. Problem is I am stuck with this boat anchor. The oven door motor has failed 3 more times and thankfully the service man showed me how to change it. Today we tried to bake some apple pies and found the oven temperature set at 450 was only 350 (bought an oven thermometer). This explains why it always takes so long to bake things. A complete piece of **, never ever buy one.

This week Dacor installed my 2nd replacement gas range. I remodeled my kitchen 3 years ago and chose Dacor because I had a great experience with their appliances in the past, had their oven and stove in my kitchen for 15+ years and never had a problem. With the first new range, the oven started to automatically shut off due to excess heat escape, so the safety feature would kick in and shut the system down, in addition the knobs would become very hot even when the over was used briefly, 12-15 minutes. I was very impressed and happy with the customer service through Dacor, they immediately gave me a brand new over. Exactly another year, the new oven had the same problem, door begins to not hinge properly and heat begins escape, knobs get dangerously hot. This week Dacor very kindly, replaced my appliance with the new Dacor Renaissance 36. I used the oven for 12 minutes on 400 and the entire exterior is dangerously hot. I do not have any children, however, if I did I would be terrified that they could seriously injure themselves. The exterior of an oven should not become hot like this. Has anyone else had this issue with Dacor? I feel they have been very responsive with regards to customer service however I want an appliance that is safe.

We bought our house in 2010 and our Dacor stove was supposedly newer. When I went to clean it, I found loose screws in the bottom. Apparently, the convection element is loosing its screws and washers. Ive had this appliance fixed once already when the cooktop kept clicking. The black plastic around the controls cracked mysteriously. It takes 3 hours longer to cook a turkey than it should. This is a strange stove, which supposedly cost a lot. I wonder if a convection part missing two screws should be used?

I bought a Dacor Epicure 48 range in 2003. It has never worked correctly. I read many other complaints on this same range. I had the burners replaced and I still have to light them with a match each time I turn them on. The oven temperatures were never correct. Nothing bakes properly even following their directions. It bakes very uneven. The hinges are sprung/broken (as the doors are too heavy for the lightweight hinge they use). I have had numerous service calls over the years and still not a good oven or repair. I too am very disappointed in the fact that this product is a lemon and they will not replace it.

We purchased a Dacor Epicure dual fuel range when we built our house 7 years ago. It was the most expensive appliance we bought and we wish we hadnt. We have had no problems with the stove top, but the oven, specifically the broiler unit has been a consistent problem. We rarely use the broiler and use the oven perhaps 2 or 3 times a month. Yet, the igniter had to be replaced in March of 2008 and again, in June of 2010. In January of 2011, the broil gas valve was changed and now in September, the broiler is again not working. I cant see pouring any more money into this appliance and will sell as soon as I find a buyer willing to take a chance on it. We have been greatly disappointed in this product.

We were out of state from December 21, 2014 to January 2, 2015. The condition of the refrigerator was discovered at about 9:30 PM on Saturday, January 2nd. Upon opening the door the Dairy Compartment Cover fell to the floor. We could immediately see the damage but did not know the source. As a result, the unit was turned off. The owners manual was consulted along with a review of the Dacor website. The office was closed on the weekend so Monday was the earliest we could obtain names of Dacor authorized repair agents in the Phoenix area. A authorized Dacor repair technician stated the light switch or light circuit in the board failed. The interior light bulbs located at the top of the refrigeration side of the unit remained on when the refrigerator door was closed. The heat generated by the continuously lit bulbs led to the melting and charring of the plastic light fixture. The light socket melted, the wiring harness melted into the socket assembly, light switch, and control panel. The heat was intense enough to warp the Dairy Compartment clear plastic cover, some of the adjustable door bins, and the interior door liners. Also, all food containers made from plastic such as salad dressing bottles, mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise, etc. were disfigured. Of course all the contents from both the refrigerator and freezer had to be disposed. Before leaving on an extended trip we had been following the instructions preparing for a vacation listed on page 19 of the owners manual. On our departure date the food that would not have lasted more than two weeks was removed from the refrigerator. The ice bin was emptied and the wire shut off arm was raised to the OFF (O) position. Note, page 19 does not mention to set the Sabbath mode when leaving for a short or long vacation. We were fortunate that the damage was contained within the refrigerator.

I am very, very pleased to report that I was contacted by Dacor a day after I posted my review which addressed a second failed relay board in 7 years. A really helpful Customer Service Representative called me (not emailed) to discuss the issue in great detail. Within a matter of days, a local repair service had received the new part from Dacor and scheduled an appointment with me to come out and replace the defective part. Dacor covered both the part and the labor. Im really sorry that the oven needed a second major repair but I will say that Im impressed with Dacors resolution of this issue!

After purchasing what I thought would be ovens of a lifetime I could not be more disappointed, frustrated and angry at a company in my buying history! Since November of 2014 and longer I have been fighting for service or answers or at least honesty! The ovens have never worked properly, they do not keep temperature. The oven temperature drops 60 to 75 degrees while cooking over a couple hours. The control board was replaced. Still the ovens never worked. If you like to cook and cook for the bed and breakfast, which is why you bought an oven like this, you will have your ovens on for a couples hours preparing any multi-dish meal! I was treated rudely on the phone during routine troubleshooting and was never allowed to speak to a manager. Dacor for months or so later is buying back my ovens minus a restocking fee, on ovens that dont work, $1200!

We placed the new Dacor appliances that we’ve purchased in our second home in Big Bear Lake, California. The fact is we were in our second home approximately 10 times in the first two years. We had trouble with our Dacor dishwasher from the beginning. When you close the door, it wouldnt engage unless you close the door a number of times. It became progressively worse to the point where we brought out another repairperson - this time a certified Dacor repairperson. He got the washer going for a few minutes, only to not being able to complete a full cycle. We received an initial $89.95 bill, and during another contact we would have to pay an additional $400-plus for a motherboard and labor. We contacted Dacor, along with the contractor, a number of times. We had the history of this dishwasher which is causing problems.Dacor would not make it good, even though we spent more than $10,000 on other Dacor kitchen products. It simply doesnt make sense to me to not fix a sub-par dishwasher to keep a customer happy. Now, we are angry and will go on a number of sites to advertise our plight. We will install a new Bosch dishwasher as we have no confidence in Dacor and even less in their customer relations division.

I purchased a DACOR Discovery IQ Range one year ago Model # DYRP36DS/NG from an online authorized DACOR retailer. Here is a synopsis of the events Ive had with the range over the past 12 months: I took delivery of the Range in January of 2016 at my home under construction. I moved into the home in April 2016 which is when the Range was fist installed. In May I began to have problems with the unit, it would shut down during preheating, then reboot itself, sometimes it would just reboot itself randomly. I called DACOR customer support who told me that I needed to download the latest software version, which I did. Shortly thereafter, the Range again would shut down during cooking and go into a reboot cycle.I called DACOR again, they sent out a local service company. In June the technician came out and upgraded and re-installed the software. The problem continued, I contacted DACOR AGAIN, got the run around, etc... Escalated the problem. DACOR then determined the problem was in the internal circuit board which they arranged to shipped to local service company. The service company came out again, replaced the internal circuit board and attempted to upgrade the eProm, which didnt work. The Range was in a constant state of rebooting itself over and over and over again. The Technician left. Said nothing more he could do. I had to shut the power off so the unit would stop rebooting itself.I called DACOR AGAIN, I got a complete run around, they refused to do anything more. I finally was able to reach the V.P. of Customer Service. After a few conversations and investigation into the issues. She determined that the unit needed a new front controller panel. The panel was shipped to the local service company. The service company came out again and replaced the front controller panel. Its now November. Over Christmas, the unit began to shut off the oven randomly during cooking cycles, for no apparent reason. Over New Years, the oven was shutting off, flashing an error code and reboot! I called DACOR last week. They refuse to help because now it is out of warranty.Ive contacted the online retailer. Ive left messages at DACOR for the Service Manager and the V.P. of Service. NO RESPONSE. So this is how DACOR deals with servicing their high end appliances, keep trying to pretend to fix the lemon appliance until the anniversary date, and then they dont have to deal with their $9,000 piece of garbage high end range any longer. The consumer gets screwed and DACOR doesnt care in the least! DO NOT BUY an appliance from DACOR.

Our old refrigerator finally died after a little a year after our reno. We were sad but happy at the same time because we can finally go buy a Dacor fridge weve always wanted. We shopped around and compared Dacor, Sub-Zero, and Thermador just to make sure Dacor is for sure what we wanted. We chose Dacor and we couldnt be happier. I have owned a Dacor dual fuel 6-burner range for several years. I paid approximately $5,000 for the product. It has proven to be totally unsatisfactory. The gas burners click and make noise whenever you try to turn the burners down to a low temperature. The cook top is very hard to clean. The range is a constant problem. It smells bad, does not heat up promptly, and the broiler feature is always a problem. A gas oven is supposed to heat to and keep a constant temperature - the Dacor does not. The broiler will not cook food evenly or well. The door to the oven will not close properly and is constantly partially open. The hinges do not seem to work properly. Most importantly, I have tried on many occasions to get Dacor to do something about the defective product. They have been totally non-responsive. When I did finally get somebody to come and look at it, they spent about 2 hours cleaning it, accused me of using the wrong cleaner on the cooktop, and presented me with a bill for $800. I asked if they would just give me my money back and take the defective product with them. DONT BUY DACOR.

I purchased a Dacor Renaissance range for our new home. What a waste of money. Though I have not had any major problems with the performance of the range yet, besides uneven baking, the design is not user-friendly. To begin with, the gas burners share a grate. So when cleaning, you have to remove the whole grate on one side. The controls for the burners & griddle are very hard to see & I have to bend over to see which burner Im turning on. The oven racks are a joke. The two glide racks are very bulky with sharp edges. It is difficult to change the heights or to remove them for cleaning purposes. Though there are three racks included, it is impossible to bake with all three in the oven.I have a GE Monogram that I had purchased two years ago for another home, and I love it The Renaissance & Monogram are similar in price, but I unfortunately, listened to the sales person & let them talk me into the Renaissance. I realized my mistake in buying a Dacor immediately & contacted the appliance store. Even though the Renaissance had not been used, they would only give me a token amount of money towards trading it in for a Monogram. So, I am stuck with a range that causes me to swear under my breath every time I use it. Dacor could learn a lot from GE.

In addition, all of the sensors had to be hard wired when the oven stopped working, and our service technician was informed by Dacor that moisture tended to get into the sensors on these ovens. Dacor 27 electric double oven unreliability. Almost from first use the Dacor electric double oven has been plagued with problems including but not limited to door not locking when self cleaning, not self cleaning, door not unlocking upon completion of self cleaning, and filter issues. Since purchased in 2013 the top oven has been used between 75 and 100 times; the bottom oven less than 25 times. Yesterday the oven died. First error message U43 relay board. Second U60 cooling fan. I purchased my Dacor Epicure Range 8 years ago when I remodeled my kitchen. My other appliances were made by GE and Bosch. Ive had to service my GE appliances a couple of times in the last 8 years, but it is the Dacor that has given me the most grief and it was the most expensive appliance purchased. It has never been reliable with regard to convection baking. Initially I thought it was my inexperience with a convection oven. I read everything I could get my hands on and kept trying...after talking with a friend who does quite a bit of baking I realized its not me, its my oven. Then the real problems started. First it was the broiler/ignitor, next it was the membrane in the keypad. Two months later it was the relay board and this time it was the broiler/ignitor....Again! Started calling Dacor when the relay board went out because at this point I had spent $1,000 on repairs....after I had paid $4,000 for the range itself. For the last two repairs Dacor has paid for the parts, while I paid for the service call and labor. This has reduced the cost of my last two repairs by about 50%, which is very helpful. However, Im still very disappointed in the product. I spend a good deal of time in my kitchen and do quite a bit of baking, cooking, and canning. I thought that if I spent more money and bought a high-end appliance, it would serve me well. At the rate that Im going, I will need to purchase another range, unless I want to keep throwing money into repairs on this one, which I dont. I will not ever purchase (or recommend) another Dacor product again.

From the beginning, August 1997, 17 years ago, I was not able to use my oven after self-cleaning. The problem was never resolved after countless service calls totaling over $1500. Aside from the cost, I was inconvenienced every time I cleaned my oven, as I was not able to use it until it was serviced, about a two week wait. I contacted Dacor early on and they reluctantly agreed to extend my warranty for a year. They did nothing beyond that, and my oven still shuts down after self-cleaning, which I hesitate to do at all, until it is beyond needing cleaning! The circuit board was replaced and recently the cooling fan was changed, but....no luck. Buying a new oven is not an alternative, as the oven performs well in every other way and I simply cannot afford one. I cannot believe a company of such status is not interested in satisfying its customers.

We bought a whole new kitchen's worth of Dacor appliances - the Modernist line. It's too soon to review their performance, but so far they work well and look fabulous. Most importantly, I had an issue registering my appliances for warranty. I sent an email and not only did they resolve all my issues, registered everything for me, they also notified me I was eligible for an extended free warranty program, and they set it all up for me without any effort on my part. I wouldn't have even known if they hadn't done it for me. So far, I'd say that they have stellar customer service. When researching online before making the choice to go with Dacor, I had trouble finding information and reviews. Epicure Range, wall oven, microwave and fridge - When remodeling our kitchen in 2010, an appliance salesperson gave us a good deal on the entire set. We spent $20k on the Dacor appliances. BIG MISTAKE! Do not ever buy anything Dacor. We have issues with every single one. Where do I start? The ovens have gone out three times now and I have had to replace the main panel, now it will not heat at all. The refrigerator 42 built-in is a big piece of crap! We have had it serviced 4-times for everything. The entire fridge freezes over due to a design flaw. The fan in the freezer completely ices over. The ice door broke. The crushed ice broke. The plastic door for the butter broke. The shelves broke. The microwave has had issues and has had to be fixed. The oven temps were wrong. Fixed those myself thanks to YouTube. When talking to the service guy he said that these are cheap appliances with the Dacor badge, so you have to spend big bucks to buy them and big bucks to repair! Do yourself a favor and if you are thinking of Dacor run! I contacted Dacor and they are even worse to deal with. They did not care that their appliances are very unreliable. We chose DACOR (8-burner double oven top of the line ERD60S06CH/LP) in 2006, new construction because we disliked the signature blue interior of another luxury brand. Last October I detected a gas leak from one of the burners. The authorized repair company was contacted, and the entire unit - all 8 burners and both ovens were out of commission while we waited for the replacement part. Six weeks later the repair guy returned with the wrong part. We had to wait an additional month for the repair guy to return. Apparently, not important that people might want to cook and bake before the Holidays! After the new valve was replaced the oven light began to turn on when any of the gas valves on the defective side was turned on. I write this review 8 months into the problem. I can fix for $700 by ordering a new control panel. I wish I had read these reviews earlier. I overheard the tech say that there was electrical interference and that the wires need to be insulated to stop the oven light from turning on and off. I am so FED up with both the Dacor California head office not caring and the horrible authorized service company. I will take this unit apart myself and fix it. DACOR IS GARBAGE. Go with Sub-Zero, Miele and forget this Brand. DACOR: Dont Accept Crap Or Rubbish! Made in America? Shame on you. No problems with 4 Sub-Zero fridges, or 4 Miele dishwasher the same age.

When the beverage center was initially installed 5 or so years ago, I went to put wine bottles in the wine drawers and surprisingly, the shelves are too shallow to properly hold some of the bottles especially tall Riesling bottles. I contacted Dacor to get some response to the poor design and got no response. Now the unit wont chill and I have just paid a repairman $162 to tell me it is not repairable because the unit has a leak in the refrigeration system and it is within a foamed in area of the system. So after only 5 years, I am replacing my wine fridge, not what I would have expected from a brand that touts itself as being high end. I am very dissatisfied with Dacor and certainly will not be purchasing anything of that brand again.

We have 3 Dacor appliances that we purchased new when we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago. Our cooktop’s igniter continually clicks even when it is not in the light position. This only happens on the front 2 burners (the back 3 are fine). We have cleaned the unit and cleaned the igniters over and over. We have had 2 authorized Dacor service companies and another company look at our unit. Two said no fix exists; the other replaced a part after talking to Dacor and that did not fix it. When I called Dacor, they noted to get another service company and call them when they are here. I am concerned that this again will not work and I will have to pay another service fee. When they were here I asked them to replace a light in our double oven, but they noted they would have to remove the oven from the wall to do that and it would be costly, to which I said no thanks. Is it true that the oven has to be removed to replace a light? Another issue is that our double wall oven’s upper unit only gets warm to about 200 degrees. Another issue is that the microwave door open button does not move the door, we have to push it and pull the door open by hand. I have turned to Dacor service and to our local service techs and we are at our wits’ end. Any help here?

Company should offer to repair or recall all stoves with double ovens.

This fridge is great. We visit warehouse stores for groceries and everything fits perfectly. The shelves can move for tall items or more bulky ones. The freezer is large and can fit so many different items. My 2 other favorite things are the fresh drawer and auto refill water pitcher. The fresh drawer temp can be adjusted and can fit anything from wine to a cake to cheeses and meats. And an auto fill pitcher keeps the water super cold and you never have to worry about someone forgetting to fill it back up.

We have a new (one year old) home with Dacor appliances. The microwave oven went on the blink the first month but was repaired by a factory approved repairman. Something to do with the computer. Now the double oven will not hold a temperature. We set the oven at 420 and it only goes to 360 even though the readout shows 420. We just decided to skip the repair process and bought a new Wolf oven. This is our second Dacor within the past two years and both have had the same problem. Dont waste your money.

I bought the refrigerator less than a year for over $4,000 and the vegetable drawer chipped. When I called Dacor, I was told that it was a cosmetic issue and was given a number to call and order the part. For a refrigerator less than a year and costing that much, I thought it should fall under its warranty. Another issue is the ice maker. It wont dispense ice and I have to always pull the ice bin and put it back in. The Dacor customer service said that its because air gets into the ice bin when I dispense ice and thats the solution. Once again, for such an expensive refrigerator under 1 year old, I would think customer service would be more customer oriented. Never again!

We have had our Dacor since 2006 and this range, the most expensive appliance we have ever owned, simply doesnt maintain the proper oven temperature. We have owned several far less expensive ranges and their ovens, much more basic designs, do what an oven is supposed to do maintain a temperature! We cook or try to quite a lot but working with this stove is like baking over an open fire while camping. This supposedly gourmet, fancy, convection oven that supposedly can bake cookies and meat at the same time is a total fail. We have had the service people out repeatedly to no avail. I am convinced we could change the circuit boards repeatedly and it wouldnt make a difference because it is a faulty design. This product should not be on the market or this company and their poor service in business. DO NOT BUY THEIR RANGES! Unless you dont cook and all you will do is look at it. We are thinking about retaining an attorney to file a class action suit. We could buy a low cost oven that works several times over for what we have paid in repair bills.

We have had this stove for less than a year I havent even made the last payment and it is already with a light burned out. REALLY? My husband spent countless hours researching the best appliances and decided to get this one and to come to find out that it is not good it is a complete disappointment. I am sooo upset. In 2001, I bought a Dacor dual range stove. I paid over $2000. My problem is that there is a defect in the product; when you use the self-cleaning, the outside of the stove cracks up. Dacor has replaced this three times and each time it cracks again. I spoke with them about a year ago and because I didnt continue the warranty, they wouldnt replace it. I carry a home warranty. My stove looks like it came from the junkyard. I understand them not repairing a physical problem with the stove but the outside is crumbling because of a defect in their product. If you dont clean the oven, then you get an error and the only way to get it off is to clean but all that dose causes the outside to crack up more. It pains me to think of buying a new range when I thought I had done my homework, when I choose Dacor. I hope this isnt too late, but it pains me to think after another cleaning I may be forced to buy another stove.

I purchased a Dacor Double Oven 5 years ago. It is a beautiful design, but unfortunately a piece of junk. Over the 5 years I have had the oven, I have had service technicians repair the oven on 7 different occasions. Unfortunately, my oven is not out of warranty and has failed once again. Today was my 8th attempt at service and the service technician could not get the oven working. I have called Dacor, pleading with them to stand behind their product and to replace this useless piece of equipment. I continue to get L22 error codes, and the main circuit board had been replaced twice. After persistently calling Dacor’s customer service, they finally said they would sell me a new oven at a discounted price to the tune of $4800 plus tax, shipping and installation. I ask myself, why would I want to buy another piece of junk? If Dacor wont stand behind their products, perhaps someone should initiate a class action suit against them.

Checking the turkey, the temp. was at 500 degrees and on broil. I burned holes in my oven mitts on the roaster taking it out. Even though I set the temp. at 325 convection roast, it reset itself to 500 broil. Nothing works except the clock. Called repair guy after the holidays. Said it is a control panel behind the keypad area. Ordered the part. Been waiting 4 months now for this part. Now, no Easter dinner either. After reading these complaints, I am worried that this part replacement may not be the end of it.

I have always thought that the oven temperature is lower than it should be but have been told twice that it is accurate, tell that to the turkey. The heating element on the large oven was replaced 2 years ago. Four of the burners dont light and have to be lit manually, this has been going on for 10 years. The relay board has burned out and now has to be replaced, $800.00 fix. The technician just left and could not replace it, he couldnt access the tight spot that it was in and wanted to cut the barrier panel to get access to it. He decided not to do the job and told me to call Dacor to get another repair service, which I just did. I was prompted to write this after reading other reviews and remarks. We purchased this oven/cooktop was installed in February 2020. I have been unhappy with the performance of the smaller oven from the beginning. It takes 20 minutes to pre-heat, a loud fan starts to run partway during the pre-heating process and then warm air starts to flow out the bottom. Plus, it is not either holding the correct temperature or not reaching it completely, nothing I cook in there is done in a appropriate amount of time. Baking a small potato takes an hour and a half at 375, brownies take almost twice the approximate baking time. My attempts to contact them have been less than satisfactory. I wrote for a second time over two weeks ago providing a copy of the invoice and have still heard nothing. I am quite disappointed with this product & company.

I purchase a home with a Dacor double oven. Unfortunately the oven begins transmitting multiple beeps and the touch panel will sometimes read off after beeping a while. I contacted the staff at Dacor requesting a service manual. They refused to send me a service manual and stated that only authorized technicians can service their equipment. Its obvious they used google or a local phone book and sent me contacts of appliance repair shops in my area. When I called, they had never heard of Dacor let alone be factory authorized. I called Appliance repair shops up to 50 miles away to find there were no Dacor Dealers. I found one 70 miles away but it was too far to send a technician. If I remove my oven from the wall and take it there they would attempt to look at it. I had to reverse engineer the thing to find that my touch panel has gone bad and now I cannot find a used one. I want to recommend that anyone considering an appliance DO NOT PURCHASE A DACOR! If you are looking for high end stick to SubZero / Wolf. Oddly enough I see that there hasnt been any reviews for the past 5 years. Maybe it appears people have stopped buying Dacor appliances.

Updated on 09/08/2019: Received a long apology from Dacor regarding their complete inability to service our range stating they would make it right. After sending them all my contact info privately at their request, we have heard nothing. My husband drove to Houston to their showroom, met with Dacor rep out of California, still nothing. Note there are only a few suggested repair services on their website which none cover our area. Avoid Appliance Genius. They wanted $ 500 just to drive 50 minutes travel cost. So here we sit, broiler in main oven out, lighters do not work, and the control screen is blank. Yes, Dacor was great until something broke.Original Review: Our Dacor range was great until it started needing repair. First the broiler went out in the main oven. Then some of the lighters quit working. When we called for repair, every place we called said they would no longer service Dacor because they were unable to get parts. For over a year we have gone back and forth with Dacor state office. They finally sent a “tech” from a video repair store. Really. He charged us $170 to drive to us. Then said he couldn’t get the brass rings off the burners, sorry. Called Dacor again and they said if we found anyone to let them know!!! Yesterday, the the touch panel burned out. I’m done. Dacor does not stand behind their products. I have documented all conversations. Do not buy Dacor.

We remodeled our kitchen in the fall of 2009 and decided to purchase what we thought were higher end Dacor appliances (stove top, oven and microwave). Well, what a mistake that turned out to be. Considering the price we paid for the appliances, you would not expect problems from all 3. Perhaps a problem with 1 appliance, but problems with all 3 suggest a real quality problem. My first indication should have been when I called and asked how to change the green LED on the microwave to blue to match the nice blue LEDs on the oven mounted right below. I was told that someone else makes the microwave and Dacor just puts their name, and that I should just turn off the LED on the microwave. I dont know if that is true, but that is what I was told. Now when using the microwave/convection feature, the oven makes a noise (sounds like a fan motor) for the first 3-5 minutes then eventually quiets down. A daily reminder of the mistake we made purchasing Dacor. Then those nice blue LEDs on the oven started failing making it impossible to read the clock, timer or temp. Luckily, the oven still works; you just cannot read the LED any longer. This is a constant reminder of the mistake we made buying Dacor as we see the LED every time we walk into the kitchen. Finally, we have the solid surface electric cooktop. Although it works fine, the black paint on the metal trim around the stove top is wearing off. Now, we have some shiny metal and some black trim. This is just an annoyance and honestly, we probably would not have even complained about it. However, with the other problems we have had with Dacor, it just adds to our overall disappointment with Dacor. If I knew then what I know now, I would be a lot happier because I would have GE appliances and not these overpriced low quality Dacor appliances.

It still does not operate properly. Its at least 25 degrees off. Everything takes way longer to cook than it should. Thanksgiving was 2 hours late. Christmas was the same. Entertaining during the holidays, embarrassing. Now Dacor wants pictures to prove to truly see how poorly the oven is operating. I thought I bought a quality product but I was wrong. I moved into a house that already had a Dacor unit in place. Within months, I discovered that I owned an oven that could be fixed by throwing the circuit breaker. Then, I learned about invisible hands that turned the 325 degree convection oven to a 500 degree broiler. The final act was having all three glass panes shatter and the control panel cracking as punishment for assuming that the oven cleaner on an expensive gourmet stove would function according to manufacturing standards. The repairman ordered replacement parts. He spoke with someone who was off shore so forget about Dacor being all American made. The wrong parts were sent. He has reordered. Meanwhile, I have been without an oven for two months. If this goes on, I am going to Home Depot and buying a Hotpoint or GE. It is the same price as replacement glass panels and the control panel.

Dangerous condition! I purchased a Dacor 36 dual fuel range 5 years ago. I reported the issue to Dacor via email with no response from customer service. I believe the no response was an attempt by Dacor to distance themselves from their responsibility for this potentially dangerous condition. Specifics: When pre-heating the oven in convection/bake mode, if the oven door is opened before reaching the set pre-heat temperature, a ball of flame will explode up from the opened door. The ball of flame is basketball sized and has singed eyebrows and hair on several occasions. To reiterate - it is a ball of flame, not super-heated air that is the problem. As a result, after non-response from Dacor, we called a decor qualified repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. The igniter was replaced and the problem still exists. I fear that a small child may be severely burned by the engineering design fault.

I was told by the company I bought it from that it would be eligible to be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I called Dacor and was told that since I didnt buy it from an authorized dealer, they would not cover it under their warranty even though I had it under one year. I have been getting the run around from Dacor regarding a part that I paid $700 to fix an interior light that comes on and off like a strobe light. After the local service company installed the part, recommended as the fix by Dacor, the issue returned. I contacted the technician again and that is when the run around started by Dacor. I was told to contact the customer service line and tell my story which I did, only to be told that the Range is too old and they dont stand behind the warranty nor service anymore. They said beyond 5 years they dont do anything for the customer.I paid $8000 for this range back in 2005 and it has worked just great until this recent issue. If I had known that there was no service nor any parts for the fix I would have just dismantled the interior light. But why did they recommend the part I did purchase to begin with? Are they just trying to increase revenues by advising customers to buy parts that wont work? DO NOT BUY DACOR PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ON THE HOOK FOR REPAIRS AFTER ONLY 5 YEARS! This company has rude customer service agents and they do not stand behind their name!

I owned a 36 Dual Fuel Epicure range that required at least an annual repair for the same thing. The control pad (the pad with the buttons that controls the oven and light) would fry. This would cause the oven light to come on and off like a strobe light. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty from the vendor, as each time this was replaced it was $750+ to repair. When I complained to Dacor on their support line, the representative actually told me that I was running the oven too hot!About 6 months ago, I sold the house and left the very expensive range behind. It was problematic from day one. Other repairs included replacing the ignitors. After a year of use, the insulation on the door came loose and was hanging in plain view through the window on the door. Every repairman that came to service the range said the same thing.... that they repair a lot of Dacors. When it worked, it was a great range. If you do buy a Dacor, do yourself a favor, buy the extended warranty. You will need it and it will pay for itself.

We have a Dacor Epicure 36 six burner range. It has been a regular source of trouble since it was installed as part of a kitchen remodel in 2006. The igniter for the broiler went out 18-24 months after we got the oven. A year or so after that the weld that holds the bottom oven rack bracket to the oven itself popped loose making it impossible to use the lowest rack position in the oven. Last year the circuit board that controls, among other things, turning the bottom oven element on stopped working. Not only is the board itself quite expensive, but it is buried deep under the top of the stove taking lots of expensive hours of repair time to remove and replace. And now the burner igniters have begun to over spark (e.g., continue to click long after the burner has been lit, burners sparking that have not been turned on). The repairman tells me that is a different circuit board so we could be heading to another $500 or so in repair bills or perhaps a trip to the dump and a much cheaper replacement range. We have had other Dacor equipment (cooktop, wall oven, warming drawer) and have not had a problem with any of them. But given our experience with the Epicure I cant imagine ever buying another.
