I just dont know how to start to show how disappointed and upset Im about this Microwave. I know GE is good brand but this Microwave must be the worst. I bought this microwave between July or August in 2016. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt. I bought a cash at Home Depot in my area, because I bought it cash Home Depot unable to find a record of but they remembered I did buy there between that time. I know bought that time because I bought my house in July 20116. This microwave started giving problems since June 2017. When I call GE they told me, they cant help because I dont a receipt, and they told from their record, this microwave was purchase in January 2015, they didnt want to believe that I purchased it in 2016.They charged over $100 to have a technician to come, he has to order a part that cost as well over $100, when the part comes another technician came. It was the wrong part. He had to order another part. The technician came back and Microwave work for only 1 or 2 months and stop working. Its been very stressful with this Microwave. This microwave was the most expensive, I bought over $500-600. Even though from your record you said I bought it in 2015, it still unfair, no one expect to buy something that expensive and break down that fast. I dont what to do. Im just so frustrated about the whole situation. This microwave cost me about $ 1,000 now from price to repair, and yet still not working. I wish someone reply to me and help me, if no one help I never wish to buy a GE product. So Sad GE, I need HELP.

My 11-month-old GE Advantium oven no longer has any display, totally blank. When calling to make an appointment I was unable to speak to a live person but scheduled one for today from 1-5 pm. At 5 pm I received an automated call that the technician was running behind and would arrive in about an hour. By 8:30 pm no one called or came to repair my oven. At 4 pm when I was wondering if I would see a repairman I attempted to find on the internet a phone number that would connect me to a live person but had no luck. I have no idea what company is being sent out to make the repairs so that I can get in touch with them. Their service sucks.

Model JVM1740DP1BB - GE Microwave - complaining since November 2014. Great microwave UNTIL the inside ceiling bubbled and began to flake off in various locations. A service tech that visited our home advised us to call GE and advise them of a potentially hazardous situation. The GE rep offered to sell us a new microwave but only stated that we were out of warranty, although this is clearly a manufacturers defect! She proceeded to tell us the lining was perfectly safe but maybe we shouldnt operate it. I have written GE management to see if they will assist in replacing the defective unit; GE is the reason we purchased it to begin with (but it may be the reason never to purchase one again).

We bought a GE dishwasher a little over 3 years ago. In the last week of September we awoke to the smell of hot or melted plastic. We found the source to be the dishwasher. I had loaded and started it before going to bed the night before. The counter-top above the dishwasher was stove top hot and upon opening the dishwasher found that a cutting board that we have had for many years and have always put in the dishwasher had melted on top of the heating coil. Dishwasher safe items on the top rack melted as well. It had been drying for at least 9 hours. After pulling the dishwasher out we saw the heat shield had melted and was crumbling. We contacted GE, sent them all the pictures and they told us it was not a safety issue. We have no doubt that if we had not woken up so early we would have had a fire in our house caused by the dishwasher.

I bough a GE microwave oven, model JVM1740SM1SS, less than 2 years ago. The keypad says that it is shorted out and needs service. It turns on randomly. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and it will either say, service needed, keypad shorted out or press clock.GE has so many complaints about there microwaves, some that are very serious. They still claim that there are no problems with them. They have to know there are problems, but do not want to issue a recall and take a financial lose. Its only a matter of time, before something so serious happens that it will be a bigger financial lose than a recall.

My 5 years old over the range GE Microwave Oven in my old house had a keypad malfunction. I replaced that oven with a different brand. This time, my 2 years old GE profile microwave in my new house has the same keypad shorted like other users posted. I was hesitating to buy this brand at the time. But the look and match with other appliances, plus the good deal from vendor, I gave it another try. I made a terrible mistake. No more GE appliances for me.

After one repair to my 9 year old microwave we decided to replace it. I am so sorry I did! The old microwave had a stainless steel kit and was made with quality. The replacement is a piece of junk! The outer kit is plastic and shows fingerprints like crazy as well as the microwave itself! Im always wiping it off. The flimsy door button is impossible to open without pushing it ten times in the right spot! The door doesnt close easily either! The front of the microwave is warped and wavy! I hate it! The quality of your microwaves has dropped to zero!

Our brand new GE Profile dishwasher wasnt cleaning dishes (even after rinsing them before stacking them in the dishwasher). GE technician came several times and lectured me how I need to open hot water faucet before turning on the dishwasher, about how I should stack the dishes in the dishwasher, etc... all bogus talk. Our builder was kind enough to replace the dishwasher because he saw how frustrating it was to deal with GE service. The new GE Profile (i.e. replaced by builder) works without opening hot water faucet, or washing the dishes or stacking them in any particular manner. In summary, I wouldnt recommend GE Products because GE service is HORRIBLE and their products arent that great. I have GE Profile all over my kitchen. Within the first year, my microwave, dishwasher and built-in fridge broke down!!!

We moved into a new home in June of 2011 with the appliances already included. Ours came equipped with a GE, over-the-range microwave, model JVM1540DP1WW, manufactured in Malaysia, in April of 2010. Within several months, the revolving platter began to make a bumping noise while turning and then it eventually quit turning altogether. Five service calls later, we had the platter motor replaced, circuit board and four fan motors (apparently the platter has voltage supplied from that fan to make it run) and it still didnt work.It was taken back to the shop and eventually the problem was traced to a loose wire on a terminal connector. After a month of operation, it is again beginning to make the bumping noise while the platter turns. To top it off, Consumer Reports (the March issue) deals with problematic microwaves, especially the GE model and the unexpected fires that can occur. In addition, they can be susceptible to (not always however and only on certain models) wireless transmissions which could potentially cause them to start on their own. I know for a fact that it knocks off my XM Satellite Radio when it is running. Bottom line...its history and will be replaced with a check rated appliance before I too have a major problem.

I have had two service calls on this dishwasher (Model Number GDT65SMJ0ES) and it is 18 months old. The first was to replace the heating element, which was under warranty. The recent problem was a cut-off switch that will trip when needed. The technician hooked up his computer to turn it back on, a very quick procedure, and it cost us almost $100. This unit should have a trip switch like a vacuum or garbage disposal so that the owner can do it themselves. After that, if the dishwasher still doesnt work, then a call for repair could be made. By the way, the repairman was very nice and respectful to us.

Our GE Cafe Appliance package is less than 1year old and the convection/microwave door handle is wrinkling and peeling. I realize that weight may be a concern hence the plastic vs. metal handle due to the side hinge of micro but aluminum or other light metal would have made more sense. A service tech is coming out next week to replace the in warranty handle however this cost will be our responsible next year when this happens again. A light metal retrofit/recall seems to be the logical solution to remain customer centric and maintain GE loyalty. How this material choice error is handled by GE to ensure this problem does not repeat during the life of this appliance defines brand loyalty. Thank you for your consideration.

Just bought a Monogram dishwasher one week ago, and the front sound barrier fell off. The service man came out, took a look, and said it was not a big deal. I questioned him why it fell off within such a short period. He stated that it was GEs policy: to make Monogram quieter than competitors, they put in sound barrier in front. However, it fell off often. Since it does not affect how the dishwasher work, GE does not believe that it is a big deal. Therefore, no need for quality control, and he will use new glue to glue it back. No guarantee that it will not fall off later... What is GE stand on the engineering products any more? Greetings fellow GE Appliances fans! I suppose youre all wondering why I gathered you here, so let me first say this wasnt Plan A, which was to give GE Appliances a quiet and fair opportunity to set things right. After all it is Easter and we should all be grateful for second chances or, in GEs case, fifth chances. Now about halfway through the below some of you are going to wonder why I didnt switch to another brand sooner, but Ive saved that answer for the end because, quite frankly, its the absolute best part of the story. And since most stories have a hero Ill tell you why The Home Depot, where we purchased the GE dishwasher, is the hero of this tale.On Feb 16, 2019 I purchased a new GE Dishwasher which was installed by GE. It subsequently overflowed causing approximately $18,000 in damage to the wood floors in our kitchen and our basement ceiling. GEs technician confirmed the cause was a defective factory drain pump and documented that GE was responsible for the damage. I was instructed to contact Sedgwick, their insurance claims administrator. Well have more on that later. On March 9 I received a 2nd GE dishwasher which also had the drain defect and subsequently overflowed and caused additional damage to our home. I hired an independent plumber who confirmed the installation and home plumbing were fine and that it was, in fact, a defect with the dishwasher. On March 15 I received a 3rd GE dishwasher, however it was damaged during shipment so GE was unable to install. On March 22 I received a 4th GE dishwasher which also had the drain defect, but we caught it in time to prevent another overflow. On April 3 I received a 5th (yes, 5th) dishwasher which worked once (or so we thought) but as it turned out also had the drain defect. We caught it in time to prevent another overflow. We also had an independent plumber confirm (again) there were no issues with the installation or our home plumbing. This included disconnecting the dishwasher drain hose from the garbage disposal and pointing it into a bucket. The dishwasher simply would not drain. At this point youre probably thinking how stupid it was for me to keep requesting replacements from GE and you would be correct...which brings me to my favorite part of the story. You see, even though GE refused to switch me to an entirely different GE model dishwasher line despite multiple requests, they promised to compensate us for our inconvenience which would take into account how long we went without a dishwasher (approaching two months now), how much work I missed (numerous vacation days) due to installation and repair appointments, and warned me that if I switched to another brand that their policy was to not compensate.I cant tell you how much they repeatedly emphasized the compensation aspect, so when we finally received what we thought was a working dishwasher I called to request compensation. Their offer was (drum roll...) $25.00. I literally laughed out loud (LLOLd). To be fair, after expressing some slight dissatisfaction with their offer, they raised it some but its not worthy of an additional drum roll.Fast forward to today (Apr 21, 2019) and we still have a defective GE dishwasher in our home and are still washing dishes by hand which, for a family of four, is no small daily task. GE was actually supposed to remove the dishwasher from our home yesterday, but arrived and said they couldnt because our replacement dishwasher (a Bosch...we gave up on GE) had not arrived. They already knew this before they came because: 1. We told them and; 2...wait for it...THEY were the ones supposed to deliver and install it. Weve been courteous, patient, and have done everything GE asked, but have been treated very poorly in return. I will say that most, but definitely not everyone I spoke with at GE Appliances, was polite however none of them seemed to be empowered to truly help us.As for Sedgwick (GEs insurance claims administrator): were still waiting for them to pay for the approximately $18,000 in damage to our home. Our wood floors are turning black and theres now a musty smell in our finished basement. Its been approximately 52 days and Im starting to doubt theyre ever going to pay for the damage to our familys home.Im sure some of you will say youve had GE products for years with no problems, so let me say that Im genuinely happy for you. We were, and somewhat reluctantly still are, a GE family. The last three custom homes weve built, including our current home, all had GE appliances by choice. But in the last five years weve had the original dishwasher in our brand new home break in just three years (heating element) which is what started this replacement debacle, the fan motor on our brand new refrigerator break in just four years costing us several hundred dollars in groceries and a $200 repair bill (and its starting to make the same loud noise again so may fail again soon), and a glass defect in the microwave within two years of purchase. As for the hero of this story, The Home Depot, I simply cant say enough good things about the store and their management team. Even though this was not their fault they apologized, agreed to switch us to another dishwasher brand, and paid the difference in price (even though we volunteered to pay the difference ourselves). They made it clear we were valued and said you are our customer and we are going to help you.GE must have known The Home Depot would do this, because GE is the one who told us to call and suggested The Home Depot might do something for us...something GE apparently wasnt willing to do themselves. For now it seems that GE Appliances not only mistreated our family, but The Home Depot as well. Im not suggesting that you should or should not buy GE appliances, but IF you do and IF its defective and IF it damages your home then buckle up. It may be a long, painful, and stressful ride with no end in sight.

I just wanted to make future purchasers aware of an issue I had with the oven light (GE over-the-range microwave model JVM1540DM5BB) underneath the microwave. It is much dimmer than my previous GE oven. I bought it from Lowes and after returning to the store to check a floor model, I discovered none of the models were plugged in so you cant check this out in the store. You only find out once the thing is installed. Lowes referred me to the manufacturer who then told me, after asking if my oven had 1 bulb or 2, the oven was working as designed. How they could definitively determine this over the phone was beyond me, but that was the extent of the assistance.

The GE microwave oven that was installed by the owners of my 130-something
The GE microwave oven that was installed by the owners of my 130-something unit apartment complex caught fire in June 2014. The manufacture date is listed as December 2012. I moved into the unit in June 2013 and the microwave was brand new still and had never been used by anyone else. I myself rarely use the microwave and only use it for heating up cold food that I previously cooked on the stove top. After heating up rice using the 2 minute express option and removing the food from the microwave, I had gone to the restroom for 30 seconds only to return and find the microwave on fire. The fire ignited from the ceiling of the microwave. I had initially intended on going to the bathroom to take a shower but needed to open a new bar of soap, so I had only returned to the kitchen to throw the soap packaging in the trash. Had I not done the latter, my entire apartment could have caught fire and it would have been difficult if not impossible for me to escape from my third floor apartment. Reading all of these complaints it is really hard to believe that a government agency has not stepped in and forced GE to STOP MAKING MICROWAVES! From the complaints on this board it is clear to see that every year GE continues to make appliances that put consumers safety and lives at risk. You would think that after so many recalls that they would have perfected their product by now, but that is not the case. It almost seems as though they are just slapping new model and serial numbers on the same BAD product. The management in my building contacted GE and my microwave was replaced with another GE microwave manufactured in 2014. I did not want another GE microwave, but I only rent so I didnt have a choice. I used the microwave once so far and the fan automatically came on after 2 minutes of use. It does state inside the microwave that the fan may come on automatically, but I just dont trust this brand anymore. I have a countertop microwave that works perfectly fine that Ive owned for over 15 years that I will be using. I will unplug the GE microwave and just keep it for aesthetic purposes, since thats all its good for.

My husband came home about an hour after I left to a house filled with smoke and the smell of melted plastic. He opened the dishwasher and found everything inside melted. The spinners, the silverware holder and all the plastic rack dividers were totally melted.Apparently, the heating element stuck on and overheated it. If he hadnt come home when he did, I believe our home would have caught fire. He said the whole kitchen was much hotter than the rest of the house. The service repair man said it cant be fixed because it got so hot it melted the seals in the motor. It was not a wiring problem with the house. It was a problem with the dishwasher itself. So now, I am out $1400 plus a house full of very toxic smelling smoke.

Wow, Donna from NJ, I could have written your dishwasher report! But since I didnt, I have never been so disappointed in an appliance purchase as my new GE dishwasher! Not only are some of the dishes & silverware coming out more dirty than they went in, it takes a ridiculously long time for a cycle. And if there are more than a couple of tablespoons of water on the door, it will pee out onto the floor when the door is closed! Not to mention that there is junk stuck to the floor just inside dishwasher, under the door, after the cycle has run! Yet the worst part is how dirty dishes are after even a Sani Wash cycle! Sometimes, the detergent lid is still closed. Sometimes its open, but the detergent is still there. Even then, dishes may be cleaner in appearance that time, than when the detergent is gone. A water glass, may have gritty stuff - not just detergent stuck and hiding down inside, or more obvious all over inside the glass. I have spent the past year experimenting with various things: detergents, amounts of detergents, arrangements of dishes, heat of water, pressure of water, rinsing dishes before cycle, etc. Glass and pottery normally fare better than plastics, but again the plastic may have started cleaner than they come out! The dealer has been out three times, finding nothing obvious the DW itself, nor anything I have done wrong. He has been told there is a kit that would fix the performance problem, but he cant purchase it, nor can his distributor. I have been told the length of cycle is because our government regulates the amount of water used. So my question is, then its okay to use more electricity?! Its totally embarrassing to serve someone a drink in a glass that is found not clean near the end of the drink! And I, too, have an old 12-years-dishwasher that still works! It was even a cheaper brand. I never had to think where pieces were arranged in that dishwasher. I just thought, in my newly built house, I should have new appliances!

We purchased a GE Over-The-Range microwave, model LVM1750DM1BB in late 2008 and had nothing but problems with it, from paint peeling off on the inside to buttons which did not work, to burning smell, until it finally quit completely. Nothing worked, nada. This was not a cheap microwave and, added with installation expenses, was a major purchase. Even so, it would cost more to have it repaired than the original costs combined. This is criminal, a total rip-off!

GE Microwave Model JES1655DR1BB - I have had many microwaves over many years but never had one malfunction as bad as this one. I am only glad that it happened with me rather than my wife or child. Or, if I had left the room while it was on. Immediately after turning the unit on, it started making loud electrical arcing noises and flashing light. I had just placed a microwave safe glass dish inside. I removed that and tested again with nothing inside. Same thing happened. I next thoroughly cleaned the unit. Tried again. Same thing happened. I had paid a little more for this unit than the usual believing it would be worth it. It clearly was not.

However this dishwasher is junk and I based on my experience I would not recommend this product to anyone!

I have many other things to do other than to voice my extreme and total displeasure with your company. GE - Huge Company, Small Customer Service. We purchased a GE microwave oven from ABT electronics in about August, 2013. In October, 2014 we had issues with the fan remaining on while the door was closed. Called GE. They said the unit was out of warranty by about 2 months. We felt that was a short period of time and that we called as soon as the issue became chronic.Had three service calls where the techs tried to fix a simple problem. First tech walked through our living room with dirty boots. Didnt fix the problem. Messed up our carpet. Bad attitude. Second call, two techs couldnt fix the problem. Said it was a door issue and they made some superficial adjustments. Problem not fixed. Third call, two more techs. Same result. In the meantime I tried to convince GE that I didnt want another service call. I wanted a new unit. No luck. I was offered a discount to purchase a new unit for around $300 or so. Im sure they spent more money on service calls than a new unit would have cost in terms of dollars and the reputation of one of the worlds biggest companies. Now, the fan for the unit stays on almost all the time after the cooking is done. Is this the best GE can do? If so, thats pretty sad. Tried to reach someone in sales who would get it. No such luck. DONT BUY GE AND IF YOU HAVE ISSUES DONT RELY ON A FACELESS, CLUELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO HELP IN ANY MEANINGFUL WAY.

Super sad about the performance of this dishwasher. This is the second leak in a year. The first time my husband fixed with new GE pump because we wanted the dishwasher up and running and the scheduled repair time was out more than a week. We were also told there would be no reimbursement to the damage to the brand new floor that was damaged. This time I REFUSE to have him fix the dishwasher even though once again the repair time is out more than a week. The cost of this dishwasher should warrant a functioning product.

I like many other people have had issues with the keypad malfunctioning. The first one shattered the first time I used the microwave, I then replaced it 2 years later and now another 3 years the second one stopped working. GE was rude when I talked to them, said they had no record of my replacement keypads even though I contacted them directly and were offering another for $514. That is no deal, I could get one in the store for that price. Also, the icemaker and water dispenser in my GE Cafe french door refrigerator are constantly malfunctioning, my range keypad does not always work, and the seal around my dishwasher keeps coming off! We purchased our new GE Over-the-Range Microwave (model HVM1750DPWW, 1.7 cu. ft.) for $269.00 in February of 2012 and in August of 2013 it started to malfunction. Specifically the microwave would start on its own whenever we would OPEN the door. Now the microwave does not work at all (with the door closed or open). Based on the feedback that I have read in some of the posts on this site, I will replace the microwave since the maker can no longer be trusted to manufacture units that are robust and safe. But what manufacturer can be trusted at this point? It is my understanding that all microwaves (from all major companies) are currently made overseas with poor materials and highly suspect safety and quality standards. (Note - previous GE Microwave [same type - over the range] lasted for 14 years.) Thanks to Consumer Affairs for allowing us to post unfavorable reviews.

I called 1800GECARES and they said you either need to have a tech come out or we can replace it. Bought a GE dishwasher that a service bulletin was generated by GE on a fault in their manufacturing. DD03-16 for reference. The door does not stay shut and continues to open. GE customer service suggested replacing hinges and brackets on the door. So I ordered the parts and changed them. It did not work. I called them back and they suggested purchasing and replacing additional parts. I called a local 3rd party and they provided the service bulletin and said that this is a problem in the design of these models. GE will not repair the problem. The cost has been shifted to me or they suggest buying a new dishwasher for only $150 over retail. They are hiding behind a warranty that expired, but the problem started at time zero when it was made. This is garbage and I have been without a working unit and continuing to argue with them over the repair or replacement cost. Call if you have this problem because they have identified it and have a solution that they will not tell you about.

Almost 2 years ago and right from the start this dishwasher did not clean. Numerous times they had people come out and supposedly fixed it. Ive had different suggestions as to what to do. 1. Turn on the hot water tap and make sure its hot. 2. Use various different cleaning solutions on top of the dishwasher soap. 3. Use loose detergent.4. Throw at the bottom of the washer. One of the arms keeps falling down. And the last time I was told I could return it and get a deal on a better machine. I am now left with hand washing every item that goes into it unless I want gritty glasses, dishes and silverware. I bought this at Home Depot. I will never buy any products such as this from them nor will I ever buy another GE product.

I just found the site for the review on 5/17. Ive had two GE Cafe microwaves model CVM2072SM3SS purchased at the same time for the two kitchens in the house. The microwave in the in-law suite lasted one year and I replaced it with a very economical one which has been fine for 3 years. The electrician could not repair it. The microwave in the main kitchen is 5 years old but it stopped working (same issue of frozen panel) after 4 years. In Nov. 2016, during Thanksgiving weekend, it froze and stopped working. I looked on YouTube and we cleaned the terminals in the panel using alcohol. That worked for 2 months. When it stopped again I tried the same remedy but it did not work. The panel lights up, but it will not respond to any commands. After 7 months of it being inoperable, I decided to either fix or replace it (while using a way cheaper GE from a friend). This is an abysmally poorly engineered VERY expensive microwave. The LED panel is a disgrace! Do not buy CAFE microwaves. Im out $1500+ (for two) plus the replacements, the aggravation, the ugly looking counter with the loaner from my friend. I am ready to bite the bullet and buy a microwave that fits the style of my kitchen. It wont be a CAFE! Although it is a set... Enough is enough. I give up.

In that time, the white coating on the inside of the microwave has been deteriorating, beginning with the area under the turntable and extending out to the bottom and sides of the unit. SOLVED: PDW9980L00SS GE Profile Dishwasher not cleaning dishes. The rubberized sump of this dishwasher suffers from chemical deterioration. In our case the deterioration allowed waste water to bypass a check valve and return into the wash water. Dishes dont come out clean and the spray wands get plugged up with bits of waste. The solution is to replace the sump. If youre handy with tools its an easy DIY job which requires pulling out the dishwasher and turning it on its side for access to the sump. Lots of videos online re the process and for safety start by shutting off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher power. For our model the new sump part number WG01L00289 replaces the original WD18X10026. Dishes & glasses now sparkle. Hope this helps as there was lots of frustration on this end before replacing the sump seen in the photo.

I purchased my new home equipped with all new G.E. Profile stainless appliances. Three years after that, our microwave (model number JE2160SFS01) had the magnetron go bad - no problem. I called G.E. and had a tech come out and replace it ($79.95). Great! 4 years later, it goes out again. But it’s still covered under warranty (cool). I call them, set up appointment, and ask what the charges will be - $79.95 home service fee. Fantastic! I schedule the appointment, and three days later, a technician comes to my home. I tell him it’s the magnetron, and he turns on the microwave for a second. He says yup and types his diagnosis into his laptop and prints out his estimate. He hands it to me, and it says “Total amount $ 270.10”! On a covered part!I asked him if he was joking, because the M.S.R.P. for that model, which I got from G.E., is... wait for it... $269.00 for the whole microwave oven! I threw the tech out and called their consumer advocate line (which took over an hour to talk to a human) and asked who sets their pricing for repairs, and was told their senior technicians set the labor charges! It’s a twenty-minute job! $190.00 for twenty minutes? So the tech left with $79.95 for doing absolutely nothing! Great job General Electric! I will never buy another product from you again! By the way, the magnetron they say is priced at $142.30 is available online for $97.50! It takes twenty minutes to replace, and a monkey can do it!

We bought a model PVM9215SK3SS microwave as part of an over-the-range microwave oven/extractor fan combo. Unlike every other microwave combo weve ever had in our frequent moves, this microwave cannot run the kitchen timer independently of the microwave. If you try to set the kitchen timer when the microwave is running, the cook-time changes and overcooks whats in the microwave. If you try to set the microwave to cook while the timer is timing a food cooking on the range, it simply refuses to work. The instructions are very hard to both find and then understand, having been written in China to cover many different models. Apparently I can ask my phone to turn it on. I sure cant manage that very often in person! The fan is too loud for comfortable use even at the lowest speed, which is a great disappointment. A former Profile model was very quiet at every speed, and much more efficient. Were saving up for something that works.

My microwave is a GE, model JE 1040 made in 1998, which they probably dont make anymore. I use it several times a week, mostly to heat up leftovers and water. Also pre-packaged microwavable meals, such as breakfasts and biscuits. I have cooked different kinds of meat and other items in it many times and am completely satisfied with it. I would be lost without it.

Door would not latch, so entire locking mechanism was replaced. Still wont lock. Repairman said it looks like door is warped or bent and door may need to be replaced. We have used the dishwasher twice a week for a year and suddenly it wont lock. Have heard this is a common issue. Is this true? Is there a recall?

My GE Adora microwave is about 6 years old and for the last year it has had an issue with moisture in-between the glass front door. It was streaky and now I have cloudy blotches. Called GE repair and it would cost close to $90 just for service call not including parts/labor. Think twice before purchasing this microwave. Not a happy consumer.

GE microwave model JES1344ES. This is a stainless steel with black accent 1.34 cubic foot microwave oven. It looks great. The micro is heavy for its size. The stainless steel is brushed and low luster finish. The door handle is chrome as is some of the other accent pieces. The push button panel is easy to read and has a large knob for making manual time adjustments. The light inside is very bright. There is a rotating platter in the oven compartment that is not knocked off of its guide rollers very easy. The push button panel is a glossy black material that is easy to attract fingerprints. The preset times that are programmed in the microwave is the only part of the product that could be an issue. For example the popcorn button when used has burnt all of the different brands of microwave popcorn that we have tried. It is set about 30 seconds too long. There is no way to adjust the preset time that I can figure out. We set the time with the large knob manually and the popcorn comes out just fine. The preset times for the Auto Defrost are also a bit off. They are not long enough. We also have a Subzero freezer set at minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit so that may be too cold for the defrost presets. Overall the microwave is great except for the preset times that Ive mentioned. We use it daily and have done so for five years. It still looks excellent inside and out.

GE Microwave Model WES1450DN1BB 1.4 Cubic Ft 1100 Watt - This product is absolute garbage! This product was manufactured in June 2010 and I purchased it in approximately in May of 2011. So after 13 months of moderate use, the unit no longer functions properly. Needless to say, the product is out of warranty by about a month, so I pretty much now have nothing more than an overweight paperweight.I wont bore you with all the details, but for the most part, the touch pad stopped working and if left plugged in, the microwave will start on its own and run for up to a minute before beeping incessantly. If I unplug the unit and plug it back in, Ill receive a different error message, and so on. I wont waste my time contacting GE, because from what I hear, they really dont give a damn! When I was young, you could by an American-made product and expect it to last for many years. However, ever since greedy corporate America decided to ship all our jobs overseas in the name of profits, I have yet to find any imported products that are worth a damn. Instead of one good American product that would last a lifetime, I now have to purchase the same imported piece of ** many times over to get the same longevity. Maybe this is what GE wants?Needless to say, GE has now been placed on my Do Not Buy list. I guess I will now buy from another major manufacturer to see if their foreign-made garbage is any better!

JVM1540 - We replaced the microwave that came with our home above the stove. When we took the old one out, the blower was not installed properly for ventless. We thought that had to be the reason it just stopped working. We felt sure it wasnt GEs fault as we have always trusted them for a quality product worth the price. WRONG! I cant help but wonder if Lowes knows they are selling a costly piece of junk! When our new one quit working, we replaced the fuse 3 times, now it says keyboard is shorted service required. And thanks to this site I am tossing this piece of junk without spending any more money. GE shame on you!

I purchased a GE microwave just a year ago. Ive had a few problems with it like the round glass plate that you cook food on cracking in half twice when the microwave wasnt even in use, and the control panel going stupid... requiring me to unplug it to get it back on track. The worst part is I purchased an entire kitchen work of GE appliances at the same time and Ive already had two service visits on the dishwasher.GE customer service is the worst! When I call they just keep repeating themselves and they never listen to what Im telling them. Today was the worst yet... I got this woman on the phone and she just kept telling me the microwave was not in warranty any longer as of last month. She also told me she only has two appliances listed on my account (no range or refrigerator) when they were registered at the same time as the other appliances and they have sold me filters for the refrigerator several times. All I can tell people is if you are considering buying GE appliances... DONT! They SUCK!

I have to agree with other post about the customer service. Our dishwasher is only 15 months old. First call went fine after that everything is with email. Tried calling several times to get correct parts shipped after only getting one of three needed, I called and finally after 45 minutes an agent answered. After several attempts to get recommended parts and repairs we are now having additional issues. The quality of the GE brand has really gone down compared to our older products that lasted 15+ years. Now waiting for a new assessment of what the issue might be and hopefully will be able to get the parts without issue.

My GE counter top microwave (JES1456), purchased from Home Depot less than a year ago, just stopped working today. No lights, or anything. The electrical outlet is fine. We have had to repair new appliances, the fridge and the dishwasher. The ice maker doesnt work and the water flows only when it feels like it. We paid good money for the Profile models in the new home. There were four repairs before these mentioned. Now we refuse to fix them any more. We will buy another brand next. We would never recommend this to anyone. Its sad for the company to produce such problem appliances for people. Obviously, they are not interested in repeat business. Now, there is this recall! It is annoying!

I have a GE Profile model JT965SK4SS micro/oven combo. It came new with my new home. A couple years into it, the paint (lining) interior of the microwave start to bubble and peel and eventually started rusting. Had SEARS come out (warranty had expired) who contacted GE and they concluded it was only cosmetic that it doesnt affect the functioning of the microwave. Well, its gotten a LOT WORSE now, bubbled peeling paint all over inside, rust, exposed metal, and the paint is falling onto food. I can NOT even wipe out the interior to clean it, it makes more stuff come off/fall down. I called GE last week, was told by 2 employees that it is NOT safe to use anymore, discontinue use. I had SEARS come again (per GE). The tech said he had NEVER seen anything like it before. He called GE to tell them its not safe, exposed metal, and its dangerous. They again said, well maam, youve gotten 8 years use of it. We wont replace it, but will offer you a discount for a new one ($2,500 out of pocket for me). The person who had offered me the discount (yes, I sent pictures, showed how bad it is) also gave me a tip regarding the unit I have now with the exposed metal and the chance of arcing (spelled? like Ark) if the unit catches on fire, make sure not to open the doors, the fire should contain itself. 2 employees told me its not safe, a 3rd gave me helpful info for if/when it catches on fire... and yet, they still wont replace the unit... and do not stand behind their own products. I plan to go to our local news station, see if they can get anywhere with this, since they wont do anything. Patiently waiting and unable to afford a new unit.

I thought there were food particles between the glass plate and the ring. When I took out the plate, I saw that the paint had bubbled and was peeling off the bottom of the microwave. Extremely unhappy with this. Ive had hand-me-down off brand microwaves that lasted much long than this GE and with NO PROBLEMS until they just rolled over and died. I have all GE appliances in my kitchen and have to say that Ill never buy GE again. Electric stove is a problem, dishwasher a problem. Refrigerator was a problem (when it was new! it was fixed and thankfully is still running well).

We purchased our GE dishwasher in September 2014. In December 2014 the dishwasher started to make a loud grinding noise. I contacted GE and a repair man was sent promptly to do the repair. Upon arrival and looking at the dishwasher he advised me that it was the motor. He then stated that he would order the parts and also stated that he did not have the correct tool to remove the motor and has not had one since they have changed the manufacturing process. At this time I am still waiting for the parts and I have contacted GE numerous times to find that the parts were either on back order or had been shipped out. I am still waiting for the parts and the repairs to be done. The estimated date of the parts to arrive is January 29th. At that time I will have been without a dishwasher for a month that I have just purchased.

6/11/2014. My microwave of 5 years the GE Adora starting to act strange. It would start to hum and the panel light would light up. The humming would only stop if I opened the door. Sometimes it would stop on its own. But today the humming kept continuing and I thought it was harmless until I heard a loud pop in the microwave and smelled something burning. The microwave glass turntable had exploded from intense heat inside the microwave. It was bizarre. Immediately I ran over and unplugged the microwave hood. In all the years and houses I own, this is the most expensive microwave I have purchased and it has lasted me the least amount of time! Microwaves shouldnt start on their own and thankfully I was home when it did. Otherwise my house would have burned down.

Apparently the customer service keeps insisting I need to schedule a service without offering any kind of help. Why do I have to pay for a service trip when I can fix it with the right part? Unlike other appliance they always have customer service helping to see and figure out what might be wrong to the appliance.

I bought the Cafe dishwasher model #CDT855P2NS1, for $995, it arrived defective with the wrong size parts inside causing the door to not shut properly (as inspected by GE repairman). This was over 4 months ago. Since then I have been told to call every two weeks to see when a replacement model would be available in the warehouse (each of this calls required sitting on hold for over an hour). Despite having many of this model dishwasher for sale on the GE website, I have been told for over four months to call back in two weeks, because none are available at the warehouse and this is the only place you can source them from. Now I am being offered the price I paid for the dishwasher despite the exact replacement now costing $1,277, from the same place as the previous one was ordered from. This doesn’t include the $149 to install the new dishwasher to replace the defective one that was initially installed, which I am being told will not be reimbursed. I just want to warn everyone about not purchasing this product or expecting any support from GE.

We purchased this dishwasher for our rental. The last dishwasher was over 30 years old and still working but the racks were coming apart so we opted for a new one from Home Depot. A year later our tenants called saying when they used the dishwasher it rained in the basement. Our maintenance man called and said the dishwasher melted a hole in the right side about 1.5 inches by a 1/4 inch. Midway to the heater element. He did a temp fix with silicone.I called GE Recall number and was told it was not on a recall list. I called customer service and was told they would waive the service call. I explained this was a FIRE HAZARD. They insisted all they could do is send their tech out for repair. Since I paid about 280 dollars for the dishwasher I decide a service call would probably run near that and told them NO! I am now sending all information to consumer affairs department with my STATE REPRESENTATIVE. I also am putting the fire hazard info out there on facebook and twitter. I am waiting for someone else to say they also had a fire hazard. This should be on a recall list!

My Profile dishwasher is not on the recall list, yet the heater element malfunctioned and did damage the entire inside racks and spin bar along with contents. GE told us to have their recommended repairman provide estimate. Repair guy estimated over $600 to fix. The unit was smoking hot which caused bubbling on the exterior and the dishes to show signs of burning. Well with estimate, GE is offering a discounted top of the line dishwasher for over $600. Pretty sure, I do not want another GE. Also, when I told the agent that I was afraid that if I had not been home, it may have initiated a fire, she said it would not have happened. Really?

Periodically my GE Profile Dishwasher will not clean well. On every occasion it is due to clogging of spray ports on the upper and/or lower spray arms. Removing the blockages is nigh-on impossible as it is often not possible to extract the blockage from the outside and its not at all possible to flush the blockage back down the arm to extract it at the centre. All that is required is a bit of forethought and the creation of some access to the arm. I was frankly surprised to not be able to find a replacement arm as the suggested solution to this problem, the additional part revenue being part of GEs the business model. There are a number of other design issues with the assembly at the bottom that make me think it was done by an intern and nobody checked her work at the end of summer break before it went into production.

We recently purchased our second dishwasher in 16+ years (the other one (a Kenmore) is still running fabulously but staying with the sale of our former home - however I am tempted to swap it out with this new one from GE). This beautiful inside and out dishwasher has a couple main flaws that has me wanting my old dishwasher back. The buttons on the front are super sensitive, causing it to come on countless times a day as we get items out of cabinet above. This is not something we thought about. Our old one had the controls on the front but they were under plastic that you pushed... not actual buttons like this one.The second issue is minor. The rack on the bottom is set up very wide on one side and our dinner plates are smaller than some and they do not sit firmly in between the tines. The spacing is great for larger plates or serving items but not for medium size plates. We use a lot of bowls so the other side with closer together tines is always full. Like I said just a minor flaw. Lastly, the unit puts off a high-pitched sound during certain parts of the cycle. It is not really loud but it is bothersome if we are still in the kitchen when it is running.
