October 20, 2019 my 2016 GMC Canyon Duramax went into limp mode. It has essentially been in dealer shop since then. Parts delays, major parts replacements have all resulted in the same failure codes. GMC resolution group (I’m now on my third rep) has admittedly trying and the local dealer as well, however it’s been over 150 days and still no ‘resolution’. On one hand I do have a loaner even though I am out of warranty, on the other I do not have my customized truck I use to manage my ranch where we live, and my most recent rep is essentially telling me ‘we are in the driver’s seat and you can wait until we fix it or you can come get it’. No more “yes sir we understand and we are trying”. I guess they are tired of my frustration but after 150 days one would think they could fix their own product. I don’t think they will be able to figure it out if they haven’t by now and wonder what the process is for my truck? Will they buy it back or simply tell me to come pick it up and charge me for repairs and parts that did not work??? Not happy with GMC but I guess they are doing what they can, which is not resulting in a successful repair of happy customer. :(

PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN PURCHASING A 2020 GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCT. GM has no available parts to fix them, should you have an accident or something breaks. My 2020 GMC Terrain has been sitting in an auto body repair shop waiting on a rear left door since June 1st of 2020. My rental car insurance coverage has met the policy maximum as of June 26th, and now Im having to pay an additional $200 a Week for a rental, while my car sits waiting on a GM part. Their response to me was we have no parts available with no date of when parts will be available. I was informed by the repair shop it could be next week it could be 6 months, could be a year from now. GM is unable to provide a date when they expect to manufacture parts. GM is costing $800 of my monthly net income and has provided no customer service of any type. Ive called GM directly with no response other than the parts are on backorder. Ive filed a Customer Complaint with GM and with the Federal Trade Commission. - Hope this helps save someone a good deal of expense and aggravation. Thank you and take care.

So bought a 2011 Cruze 1.4 used. It had only 29000 miles so I thought what could possible go wrong with purchasing such a low mileage automobile. Well little did I know this first year production in the US would be a bad thing for this car. The engine eats water pumps to the tune of 3 since new, and then it also has used up 2 turbos as well. A case of poor design I guess on both, and yet customer service does very little but stroke you into thinking they care and issuing you a fancy customer service ticket. As if they will get these problems resolved for you ASAP. Yea, wishful thinking if you think GM will do this for you. I dont know which has turned me off of GM more, their poorly built automobiles or their terrible customer service. But lets not blame the local dealer here, who faces warranty rejection on claims not approved by GM. So they have little recourse too but to do what GM instructs them too. I definitely will never give GM any more of my business as long as I live. Consider yourself lucky if you get a reliable GM products.

Own 3 Chevy Sonics. 2014 I bought mine, loved it so much we bought our 2 children one each in 11/16. In Jan of this year (2018) our sons car burnt up while it was parked and ignition was off for at least an hour. No modifications were made to this car. Fire department, and insurance company both said that the fire started under the hood. We called GM immediately. It took over 3 1/2 months for GM to even send anyone to look at it and it was after the insurance company had to threaten them. I went back to dealership, and was told that the car was still under factory warranty and they should have investigated it as soon as it happened. The GM investigator that did speak to me was rude and told me (3 months after the fire), I am sure the car has been scrapped for metal by now...which it had not been. He also said Well we dont know that the car catching on fire was fault due to the motor...and I replied You wouldnt know cause you sent no one out. On April 3, 2018 I emailed our insurance company and they said that GM would have a decision in 2 weeks. I have requested a status regularly and it has been 7 months with no response as in no call, email or letter from GM. All I asked was that they stand by their warranty. I understand that to GM this is a game of corporate bullying. They have no interest in providing a valid service to their customers. Their mission statement We at GM make a strong commitment to our customers, employees, partners, and other important stakeholders. They continue to promote that they are guided by five principles including Safety and Quality first...Create Lifelong Customers. GM has demonstrated to me that they do not stand by their product or their mission. GMs only mission is to serve themselves at the expense of their customers. I will never buy a GM vehicle again.

I am writing this complaint as I am very disappointed the way my whole purchase and ownership experience. I feel that a profit motivation has ruled the decision making process and customer service non existent. Firstly at the purchase of our 2012 Chevrolet Cruz, one major significant item was not offered and when we became aware of this item we were told it was too late. Then on the first trip we hit a pothole and damaged two tires. No problem, we have warranty. But even the dealership gave us the vehicle with three tires with a maximum of 21 PSI 2 at 18. We paid for this as no one was responsible. We noticed on the side mirror at the outset what we perceived to be polish dust. Upon the initial washing we became aware that it was actually a defect. We drove to the dealership only to be told we will sort it out. However, after repeated complaints we were told it was never written down and you now are out of warranty. GM in their infinite wisdom agreed and refused to change them. Managers looking at the mirrors have said off the record that it is definitely a flaw, but I guess in this experience it will be up to us to solve it. Other items which were not on the warranty. Replace the brake disk and the pads at 30,000 KM (As a former Rally racer this is absurd). The air conditioning works poorly to say the least, even I had to pay to change to replace all the filters. There is a power surge from the gearbox at gear change - still unresolved but we are out of warranty.I worked at GM and this is something I never saw from a quality perspective. I am also a second generation GM owner as my father lived and breathed GM and owned GM cars for approximately fifty years. At this point Big Brother and its profits have lost a customer and I will never consider a GM product again. I can assure you I will expound my experiences to prospective buyers as well. I have never favored Lemon Laws but I now realise that they have a place and are needed to protect customers. Thank you for reading.

Bought a 2020 Chevy Silverado from Rountree Moore Chevy in Lake City Florida May 2020. At 600 miles truck would not start. Sent to dealer, they cleared the computer, sent me on my way. 3-400 miles later did the same thing. Truck came back and they kept the truck for 30+ days waiting on a fuel part. Truck was fixed and got it back in July. November 30 truck did the same thing, would not start, just turns over. Took truck back asked for a buy back (same part broke) or new truck. Dealer told me to call GM, start a claim. I did right then. Just received a call from GM corporate denying the claim saying the dealer has to start a technical claim. Tried to 3 way the dealer in to get all on the same page and the corporate rep hung up during the call. I have been given the runaround from both the dealer and Chevy, Florida laws says this is a lemon, both are trying their best to avoid the situation rather than correct it. Truck has 9000 miles on it, has been in the shop 3 times for the same problem and has been in the shop more than 30 days total. I spent days of my time dealing with it, spent $55,000 and its only 8 months old. Think twice before buying a GM product. I guess I am forced to hire help now. All I can do is share my experience and hope good people learn from it. Thank You.

I purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze in February of 2012 with 15 miles on it and have had it on the garage 3 times for major repairs. The first being a thermostat and seals on the coolant lines. Then had to have all the coolant seals replaced after it overheated again. All of this happened before the first 30000 miles. Most recently my check engine light came on so I took it in and found that a wire for the valve intake to the emission system had broken. All of this on a car barely 3 years old. Contacted GM with my concerns and was told that they would contact the dealership so that the dealership or GM would cover a portion of the repair expense. Was contacted 2 days later by dealership. They said it wasnt their problem that they did their part and would forward my concerns back to GM since my problem was with the car not the service I was given. Was contacted by GM the following day to be told that GM would not be covering anything because I was said to be bad mouthing GM by saying there was a problem with the car they made. How is stating that GM sold me a car that has been nothing but problems bad mouthing anyone. I was stating facts. I bought a new car to avoid these problems and got more than I could have imagined. GM you should take more concern in your customer satisfaction. At this point in time if I could I would trade in this car and never purchase a GM product again. Your company has done nothing to take care of my concerns or problems. All that has been done is a personal attack on me as a customer with your claims of bad mouthing. So now customers cannot speak negative of a product for fear of your company deciding to not help them. I will tell everyone I know what terrible service I received from GM.

I own a 2013 GMC Terrain. The car was part of a lawsuit against GM for excessive oil consumption. My car was 4qt low on oil, NO oil light ever came on. The car now needs $2,500 in repairs and GM is refusing to pay for it although the lawsuit states they are responsible for it and are to pay for it! Myself and my family have always driven GM vehicles. I’m the last one in the family left driving one and now I know why. They do not stand behind their products and do not support their customers. Customer service from GM just keeps say, We are working on this. Give us two days and we’ll call you. It’s been 3weeks!!! I’m paying for a rental out of my pocket and making a car payment. GM is useless. DO NOT BUY ONE!

I currently own a 2015 Cadillac Escalade which I have owned since 2015. We recently discovered a water leak on the drivers side second row on the roof where the seams meet by the back door, the water has leaked down the inner panel affecting the seat belt causing it to lock out. The entire carpet from the second row to the third row was wet producing the smell of mold. After taking my vehicle to two different Cadillac dealers they found the leak we had already discovered. General Motors has denied the claim made by the dealership, they are not taking accountability for their faulty vehicle and supporting us the consumer who has trusted them to produce a high quality product worth the large investment we made. I am beyond disappointed in General Motors and the poor customer service we have received from them. This issue is 100% a manufacture defect, we did not cause this issue to occurs and now we are stuck with the cost of the repair and breathing in the mold which is a hazard to myself and 3 young kids health. I am appalled at the lack of support from General Motors. I bought a Cadillac expecting a high quality product and high quality customer service which is not at all what we have received. I am truly disappointed.

I purchased a 2011 GMC Yukon with 82K miles from Carmax. I paid $29K for this vehicle. This had the 5.3L engine & 4WD which is needed here in MI. At 125K miles the transmission gave out - no prolonged degradation, just failure over 1-2 days. I purchased a remanufactured transmission costing $3K (including installation). Adding more injury, GM charged me $200 to flash the transmission. Then at 140K miles, StabiliTrak and Traction Control codes appear along with the check engine light. The engine started running rough at idle with slightly reduced gas mileage. I changed the plugs, plug wires and coil to no avail. Analytics would show random misfire for cylinder 8. Compression check showed the cylinder was 60 psi low. Leak-down test showed the problem was either the camshaft or a lifter, meaning engine replacement. Ive taken good care of this vehicle with regular service and am extremely disappointed I couldnt get more mileage out of the engine. BTW, this is the 2nd GMC where both the engine and transmission had to be replaced at similar mileage (a 1985 GMC Jimmy). GMC is not the Professional Grade they claim to be, but the opposite. I will never purchase another GMC vehicle.

I am contacting you in reference to my vehicle. Unfortunately the service manager William has showed and made it very clear he does not want to service my vehicle at all. He told me that he did not know 100% what was wrong with my car unless they tear it down and that his techs dont want to do that and he dont want to pay them to do it. I had took my car to a front end specialist and got a second opinion and they suggested struts and strut mounts. He told me that if my warranty cover my struts, he would have them changed and I was going to pay for the strut mounts to be put on, which he said would be an extra $56. He also stated I needed a timing belt which is going bad for the second time around. I know when I bring my vehicle in, the parts that I am told are bad are covered under my warranty. He told me my warranty denied my struts but when I called come to find out, they never mentioned the struts at all being needed to repair. He also made a big deal about my warranty not covering my timing belt and they do, its in black and white and plus I asked them myself. Well, he called my warranty and told them that I dont need any struts and there is nothing wrong with my timing belt so they could block my repairs and he did not have to pay the techs out his pocket to do the work. I always come there for service to my vehicle from oil changes I paid for on up. I have never had to fight and bicker to get my car serviced there before at all. This unprofessional matter and stunt he pulled was uncalled for, all he keeps doing is wanting me to come out my pocket for repairs. Why should I if I have a warranty to pay for the labor and repairs? He tells me if they pull my front end apart, I will have to pay the tech out my pocket to do it. I am past fed up with his attitude and unwillingness to repair my vehicle. On top of that, lying to my warranty company so they can block the repairs so I can pay for them myself and basically, his way to show me that he is not going to fix my car and he is not going to let his tech either. Timing belt is a major repair issue. This is my only mode of transportation and for him to lie about it so he want have to do anything to my car - WOW. I have never seen this type of service before at all. If I know my parts are not under warranty, I would not bring my car in to have techs fix it when I know they have to be paid. Plus, warranty cover labor and parts and all this service manager does is throw in my face about he not going to pay the techs and someone has to pay the techs and he not paying them out his pocket. Customer service should be this service manager main priority and not how much money you can spend for parts that are all ready under warranty, makes no sense at all. Stop throwing temper tantrums when its work that need to be done and you dont want to do it. Its part of your job to work and make sure the customer car does not leave the same way it came in, which mine has every time I took it in to be serviced. This is not the first time I have had to get my front end looked at. One time they charged my warranty people and come to find out when I got the car back same way it went in. No work was done to my vehicle at all. The tech admitted that he never changed anything on my car that he had another car like mine and did that work to it. This service department and service manager are very unprofessional and wants to take the easy way out of things. Then he told me that he can spray some lubrication on the parts and that will take care of the noise as well as how my main concern should not be the noise, it should be the oil leak that I have never seen in my drive way - which is more than likely from my cover gaskets I paid out my pocket to have changed.

Bought two GM trucks at same time. After about six weeks one had the airbags deploy for no reason. Only going about 30 mph at the time so fortunately no one was injured except the shock of the incident and the total destruction of the interior. GM had immediately wanted to blame the driver and wanted the insurance company name. THIS WAS NOT anything we did and is not an insurance claim. This is just a faulty product with a dangerous problem which they dont want to accept responsibility for. This IS a GM problem. We have a loaner but want another new truck. We do not want that truck back. We no longer trust the vehicle and since this incident have no trust in GM to stand behind their product. Until this problem is addressed and fixed I would not buy a GM truck. None should have to go through this. GM is fortunate that none was hurt. Apparently they just dont care about the customer. I purchased 2011 Equinox Dec. 2010 new with 65 miles on it. It has been in the shop for repairs ten times from Feb. 2011 to Mar 2014. Engine problems (twice) same thing, transmission, air conditioning, seat belts. All was under warranty. Recently, my Equinox was hit by another car. It was hit on the driver side, front wheel and front. The body shop quoted a price of $8,400 for repairs. It ended up $9,633. The body shop had my vehicle for almost a month to repair. The second day, after I picked it up from the shop, the engine light came on. I took it back to the body shop. They had to take it to a GM shop to run a diagnostic test which they charged $97.00 which I paid. The #2 coil needed replacing. They said this was not covered under my 100,000 mile power train. They are saying this was not related to the accident. NOT A HAPPY PERSON HERE. I have bought 3 other GM cars. No problems. I thought that if you bought a vehicle new, you would have only basic minor problems. I have 76,425 miles on my vehicle and it should be worth about $14,000 to $17,000. Once this vehicle is repaired, Im trading it.. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER GM CAR. I WILL BUY NISSAN, FORD, OR TOYOTA. YOU JUST LOST ANOTHER CUSTOMER.

My 2013 GMC Terrain has turned into the worst investment I have ever made. The abs light keeps coming on along with the stabilitrak light. When this happens the abs activates and the car doesnt stop well. Also this error code shuts off the all wheel drive. This is a major safety issue and when I brought it to the dealer they said its a bearing and the hub needs to be replaced at my cost. So when I called gm I spoke to senior service advisor who assured me they would contact the dealer and assist me with the cost. After some 30 phone calls Mary sr#** never returned my call nor did she contact the dealer. So I called and spoke to someone else who told me that gmc was not going to help me and that I could not escalate the problem any further. I drive my kids around in this car and due to the safety issue I have no choice but to get the repair completed at more than $400 cost. I think the service is the worst part of the whole thing. I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy from gm, they do not care about their customers at all. My next car will be a Honda.

I took my 2015 GMC Terrain Denali Edition (Carport kept - excellent condition) to my local GMC dealer for service. My windshield wipers totally failed during a thunderstorm on a dark backroad at night. But for the Grace of God I wasnt hurt or killed - I had to figure out how to find a pull-off to address the problem. I took it in for service repair to my GMC shop and explained the problem - and also noted that wiper failure is a current problem with other year groups and models.I received a call that the wiper transmission failed - but due to it not being under recall I will be charged $351. I told them that it is absolutely unacceptable. Wiper transmissions should not fail at 85K miles - considering that I never experienced this type of problem before and have owned high mileage vehicles. They told me they had no power to do anything. I called GMC customer service and they claim they have no power to defer charges. Nonsense. I am lucky that I was not hurt or killed based upon their defective part. Further, GM was bailed out by my tax dollars because they are too big to fail. Well, my windshield wiper transmission was too important to fail, and it still did.

After 83,000 miles on my Hummer 3 the head went out. The head has the same issue I was told by the dealer that the recalled 5 cylinder canyon head was having when GM recalled it. The cost for repair was $2705. GM made me believe that they would help me out but after the bill was paid 3 days later I received a phone call informing me that they would not help in this matter. At the GM dealer they did say that a head should not go bad after 83,0000 and thought the main office would do something. My truck had a problem where all 4 of my brakes locked up and the brake pedal would not depress at all. I had to drive from 2 to 4 miles to get where I was going with the accelerator pedal fully depressed and going 35 miles per hour. The brakes were all four very hot and smoking. Within 2 hours the brakes were back to normal. This happened approximately 5 times before I was able to get into a gm authorized dealer. They let me use a loaner until they could test drive my truck. They called me and told me that they found the problem with the front brakes. I confronted the service manager and told him that they had not found the problem because when the problem occurred all four brakes locked up. He quoted me a price of $850.00 to make the repairs the mechanic thought would solve the problem. I told him that he had not found the problem and If I agreed to the costs and the repairs and it continued he would have to absorb the cost of the necessary repairs. He stated I would do that anyway. I authorized the repairs and within two weeks the brakes all locked up again. I asked him if he could call technical services about the problem. He said he only had one mechanic who was authorized to call the gm technical service dept.I wanted me to return the vehicle for them to test drive it again. In the meantime I found another source of information and was told all I needed to do was replace the brake fluid reservoir cap and the problem would never happen again... I was promised a loaner vehicle while they test drove my truck. While I was for the loaner car I casually told the mechanic about the cap possibly could be the cause of the problem. Without my knowledge and without telling the service manager he changed the cap before they started test driving the truck. After a week I called to find out about my truck and they had had no failures. I returned the loaner car and spoke to the mechanic while they were making out the paperwork for my truck and the loaner. He told me that he had changed the cap and raised the hood to show me a new cap had been installed. I have filed a complaint with the dealership and asked for some relief on the cost of the repairs to my truck. I was told that he had met with the service manager and the mechanic and they believe that the cap was not the problem.I have driven the truck for over 3 months since the cap was replaced. As I was leaving the dealership I met the service manager and I asked him if he had called their technical service department about the problem. He stated that he and the mechanic did not believe the cap and since my truck was over 10 years old with over 175,000 miles he would not bother technical services with my trucks problem. I told him if he felt that way HE WAS AN IDIOT. He said thank you and turned and walked away. I really would like to know how to contact someone from GMC who can explain to me how the brakes are affected by the brake fluid cap. Thank you for your time and concern about my problem.

I have a 2002 Chevy Express Van 2500. I’m the original owner. I have about 98000 miles, first time. I just learned that the ABS sensors need to be replaced. It cost a total of about $600.00. The cargo side door that opens first on the passenger’s side is very hard to open. It’s almost stuck. I have applied grease, oil, etc. to the hinge, the lower hinge is the one that is super stuck. I am sure that the manufacturing process is the cause for this, nothing elseHow about the NTSB being notified? I can also mention that the fuel pump went out about 20,000 to 30,000 ago. The cost is over $1000.00. I have never heard of a fuel pump going out. I had lost time and wages and it’s dangerous. They make great vehicles, but the overall components are the pits after 30,000 miles.

2008 gmc denali radio control tire censor. What a stupid total waste of money. Cost me another 300.00 to get the stupid aluminum junk parts replaced. I never seen such a total stupid unnecessary device in my life. I had one tire worked on 3 times and they found nothing wrong but it still leaked. Most tire dealers drop the nut off the sensor and let it drop into the tire not wanting to tell you it cost another $80.00 a tire to fix the problem the junk sensor. I happen to get an honest dealer and explained the stupid engineering retarded situation. Thanks for the stupid extra expense. I grew up when a car had an ignition switch and an oil gauge and was happy. I own a tire gauge and can see a low tire that does not cost an extra $300.00 from my social security.I called gmc customer service 5 times and got nothing but the run around. I was disconnected and put on hold several times. Rep 1 was foreign, could not understand me. Rep 2 I was disconnected. Rep 3 wanted me to spell sensor three times, said he had never heard of that type of auto part. Rep 4 asked for my first name then put me on hold then rep 5 asked for my last name, then my address and I said 6867, only my house number then she asked me to spell it. So I said six eight six seven. Then she started to explain why I had to spell. I never got my whole address out she kept talking over me. The whole experience was like a comedy routine saturday night live. Smartest man movie.

The 8 speed transmission is DANGEROUS! No other way to say it. The hesitations and stuttering issues are countless. After sharing my safety concerns, GM says its just how the transmission performs. Ive driven plenty of V8 engines with various transmissions and never had this issue. It is NOT SAFE! The fact that GM is just shrugging this off is quite concerning. They have offered no help with this problem and passed the responsibility to the dealer. 100% unhappy. I will never buy a GM again and will recommend to everyone I know to do the same. BEWARE!

I ordered a 2015 Yukon XL Denali 5 months ago. Numerous contacts with the dealer gives the same results - The order has not been picked up by GM yet. I called customer assistance and was put on hold for about 10 minutes while the person investigated the order. She came back with You just need to talk to your dealer. I have buyers remorse and I have yet to see the vehicle. Great service, GM. I am, to say the least, very disappointed. You think this is a preview of what lies ahead with their service?

Updated on 02/01/2020: I didnt get the car back until Dec due to the strike. I filed a claim with GM and requested either a new car or reimbursement. They refused to give me a new car and agreed to the reimbursement. They are only willing to reimburse me 2 car payments but had my car for a total of 3 months. Ive had to provide statements from my finance company and personal bank statements to show proof that I made those car payments just so they can reimburse me. Talk about feeling like a valued customer! Me paying my car note has nothing to do with me being inconvenienced over a product that I bought from YOU! They are telling me the dealership has to process my reimbursement because it will move a lot faster, however I got my car back mid December, it is almost February and I am still dealing with this and havent received anything! I am very dissatisfied with GMs customer service and the way they treat their customers! I will never purchase another GM car and I definitely wont be referring any one to either! I have a cousin who experienced some of the same issues with Dodge and her experience was smooth sailing! Original Review: I purchased a 2019 Chevy Camaro in June 2019 due to a car accident and my previous car being totaled which was a Dodge (Challenger). I had the Camaro for 90 days then had to put it in the shop due to safety issues! Passenger Airbag broken! This is a brand new car in which I should not be experiencing these type of problems. My car has been in the shop for almost 2 months now due to GM being on strike and the part to fix my car has not been available and no one can tell me when. I was told GM would not give me a new car but would compensate me once the problem is fixed! **! Im having to pay a car note for a BRAND NEW CAR that I cant even enjoy! VERY UPSETTING! Im totally dissatisfied with GM and I wish I never purchased this car! Shouldve just stuck with DODGE!

I purchased a 2010 GMC Terrain 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. I have had to take it to the dealer numerous times to get the engine repaired as well as the transmission. I found the car to be unreliable and because of the frequent break downs, I have had to miss work and deal with the inconvenience of renting a vehicle. The last time I was there, they recommend that I speak to someone regarding the vehicle exchange program. They assured me that they would be able to help me get out of this vehicle and into something more reliable. I knew going in that I would probably have to extend the duration of my current loan. Unfortunately when I spoke to the sales manager, their way of helping me was to get me into a new Terrain with a brand new loan of 6 years and an interest rate of 3.6%. How is this helping me? The only reason why I was even considering the exchange was because the car that they sold me is not reliable - AKA lemon! I am sure that the dealership has better incentives than what they were trying to offer me. I do not believe GMC cares about their customers. I was willing to purchase the car with the same payment I have now, but I only wanted a 4 year loan. They were unwilling to help. Why would I want to purchase a car from GMC ever again after the kind of service I got? If I am going to start from scratch, I might as well go to another brand of car. The sales staff at GMC Cerritos were not understanding of my situation and were very condescending. Thank you.

I am an owner of a 2013 Cadillac XTS. This vehicle is the third Cadillac car/truck I have owned. I am reaching out to you regarding case **. Ive leased the car in November of 2012, during this time I have had a serious safety issue and major concern. The brakes have failed on 4 different times. I have taken it to the shop, different reasonings why, but no complete/real answer. At this time I do not feel safe and confident driving the vehicle. The dealership which has it now, doesnt want to keep the car, stating it may not sell after. I am trying to get in contact with the sale manager at Crown Cadillac in Watchung NJ. As I will guess they would want me to take the vehicle to New Jersey to turn in, not sure what difference it would make. As stated the car isnt safe for my family, myself and possibly causing a crash on the road. After a week, they reached back to me, stating there is nothing they can or will do for me and have a nice day. Customer service for a loyal buyer, I think not. I will never purchase and/or lease a Cadillac vehicle again.

The transmission should have been recalled. The wave plates break in it and it is junk. I have to replace ours and it costs a lot of money. For people on a fixed income this is very expensive. GM knew about this problem. The car was slipping out of gear while driving and my wife barely made it to her destination. So then the car was stuck 45 miles from my home and I had to get it towed back to where we lived. The mechanic said that this should have been a recall even. What makes me mad is that tax payers bailed out GM and then the company does stuff like this at our expense. The engine is good though because it is made by Honda.

I was covered for 120,000 but this was a factory problem but GM would not cover this at all. This cost me 10,000 to put a new motor in. All I pulled with this truck once a month I pulled a RV to LA. I took my vehicle (2012 Equinox) to the dealership to have my piston rings replaced due to a recall. After having them replaced there was a noise coming from under the hood. I asked the dealership what was this noise, after having my vehicle for a month I was told that the noise is coming from a Vacuum which comes from the pistons not working properly. I was told that I must pay for this to be fixed because its not under warranty. My problem is that if the piston rings caused this and theres a recall for this, then the Vacuum problem should be in recall as well. I contacted GM and they told me the same thing the dealership said but added that this has not been seen in all vehicles. How many have to have this problem for GM to make it their priority? Not fair to pay for something that was caused by a recall!!!

Leased a 2019 Colorado crew cab long box 4x4 on Dec 12, 2018. Fuel gauge has not worked properly since taking possession. Has been back to dealer 2 times now with no resolve. Truck has now developed a nasty rumbling sensation (like driving over rumble strips) at all speeds with it being more noticeable at 55 or above. Dealer states that this is due to the wrong transmission fluid being used in the 8 speed transmission but they (dealership) does not have the required tools to drain and replace fluid. Gas gauge issue is still not resolved. Requested a GM buyback of vehicle three weeks ago. (Truck has under 1000 miles on it) Have finally heard back from GM and they agree to buy back the truck. Now I have to figure out what to buy. Note: I also leased a 2019 Traverse LT for my wife the same day. I am thinking that these will be my last GM products.

As a GM Customer for over 12 years, I leased a Cadillac for 4 years and recently leased a 2021 XT6. As I contact Cadillac Novi, to schedule an appointment for my XT6 to come in for service. Due to hearing an unfamiliar noise when I’m accelerating. I was told by the Service Advisor that they have no vehicles for loaners due to the chip shortage. But furthermore I was told that I can go and rent a vehicle at Enterprise or whatever and then contact GM to see if I could be reimbursed. I asked the Service Advisor how come they can’t set me up with Enterprise or a rental company due to them not having vehicles. To make the matters worse, he tells me that it would take at least 5 days before the vehicle will even be diagnosed. As a frustrated customer I asked the Service Advisor as a customer who has a bumper to bumper warranty what if I don’t have the financial income to be able to rent a vehicle at this time. The Service Advisor had nothing to say.At this point it’s clear that GM - Cadillac has nothing in place for customers. It’s very sad and unacceptable on all levels. I’m very disappointed with GM and will not be going back. Having a Bumper to Bumper Warranty is useless and it shows that GM do not honor their product. Anytime a customer have to come out of pocket when they purchased a new vehicle for a peace of mind is unacceptable. The fact that a customer have to call and go through the process of GM lack of production is this chip it seems as it’s a fallback with them. I’m so disappointed and will not be a continue customer. The Service Advisor gave me a phone number that after the prompts it just rings and rings. Then another number that after you press the prompt to #1 it goes to talk to text.

Tried to get GM (Chevy) to take care of rusted cross member. Was told that I am a few years late and that it is on me. This would be close to $1000. Other consumers have complained in regard to the rusting. And Chevy is aware of this issue. Chevrolet issued a bulletin that alerts owners of 1999-2004 model year Chevrolet Trackers of the possibility that some of the front suspension crossmember did not receive adequate corrosion protection. If this occurs, may notice steering looseness, vehicle pulls to one side, front end noises (clunk, bang, rattle, etc) vehicle shaking, or steering wheel rotation when shifting from reverse to drive and drive to reverse.Corrosion may progress over time until the front lower control arm bracket separates from the crossmember.. If this condition occurs on your 1999-2004 Chevrolet Tracker within 10 years of the date that the vehicle was originally placed in service, or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, the condition will be repaired at no charge. This should have been a full recall, not a silent one. Shame on you GM or Chevy whatever your name is. I dont give a hoot how old it is, this needs to be corrected. My children will sue GM or Chevy, whatever your name is. If I die in twisted wreckage, thanks for nothing.

I had 49,500 miles in my Chevy Silverado and had a catastrophic engine failure. A lifter collapsed and damaged the camshaft when I took off from a streetlight. No engine should fail with less than 50,000 miles on it. GM offered to pay 10% of the repair costs which is inadequate given this engine is obviously a lemon and is unreliable from the factory. Taking a several thousand dollar loss and going back to Toyota. I should have never strayed from Toyota. Because GM does not stand behind their defective engine, I also sold my Tahoe and purchase a Tacoma. I was also able to convince a family member to not purchase a Corvette. I will also work to convince as many people as I can to not purchase a GM product.

That is inaccurate info, as I have no delinquencies at all, and would not have a FICO score of 803 if there were such. PLEEZ, Mr. **, that added about a GALLON of HIGH OCTANE FUEL to the FIRE. I even went as far as to share w/Mr. ** that my dissatisfaction with the dealership was too far gone and I have told over 15 people. No one cares, yet they talk like they do. P.S. We are the original owners of a 1999 GMC Suburban 1500, purchased new from a dealership that is no longer in existence. The vehicle currently has a non-functioning air bag module. In or about mid-July, 2014, we took our vehicle to Seidners Collision Center in **, CA to have some work done due to a sideswipe accident. At the same time our vehicle was in the shop for repairs, we asked Seidners to take a look at the airbag light that was on. Seidners sent our vehicle out to a certified air bag diagnostic center and it was determined that we needed a new module. They also informed us that they had called at least five dealerships in our general area and were told the part was discontinued. They further informed us that if they were to obtain and install a third-party part, they would not warrant the work.On July 28, 2014, I called GMCs Corporate Offices (866) 363-2273 at approximately 2:00 p.m. I spoke with Jade in the Customer Assistance Department. She assigned us File #**. After explaining that we were told the air bag module for our vehicle was no longer available, Jade put us in touch via a 3-way conference call with a local dealership. A representative from said dealership informed me that part # 9378245, priced at $533.00, is listed as unavailable. When I asked what unavailable meant, he could not give me a direct answer. Jade then directed me to several external websites which she said were GMC approved. The websites I was directed to are as follows: acdelco, mycertifiedservice, chevy-classic-parts.None of the above websites had the part I was looking for. On July 28, 2014 at approximately 4:45, I received a call from ** the parts manager at the above dealership. He said he checked with his shop foreman who said if the airbag light is on, he cannot say definitively whether the airbag will deploy or not. ** said he would place an order for the part for us even though it is listed as unavailable. He also said he would follow up with me as more information becomes available. After I received the above phone call, I called GMC Customer Service again and spoke with Mary, one of the supervisors. I informed her about the safety concerns we have until the part comes in, especially given that there is no estimated time of arrival. I also informed her that I believe this problem is more of a corporate issue than a dealership issue. Corporate should be responsible for making sure that parts are available to the dealerships. The dealership has been as helpful as they can possibly be, but it is not their fault that the part is unavailable. On August 14, 2014, at approximately 9:00 a.m., I received a follow-up call from the parts manager at the above dealership. He informed me that the part is still on order and there is still no estimated time of arrival. He said he was merely making a courtesy call. After receiving the above phone call, I again called GMC Corporate. The phone call was made at 9:35 a.m. I spoke with Carla, another supervisor. She said she would call the parts manager at the above dealership to get the order number and would get a District Supervisor to call me within 48 hours. I have not received a call from any District Supervisor to date.On August 25, 2014 at approximately 5:20 p.m., I received a call from Cecelia, yet another GMC Customer Service representative. She informed me that the air bag module cannot be expedited and there is still no anticipated date of arrival. I again reiterated my safety concerns. Cecelias response was for me to rent a car. I asked if GMC would reimburse for a rental car and she said, No, its on you. I again asked to speak to a supervisor. Cecelia put me on hold and came back to say that no supervisors were available. I asked if I could hold on the line and she told me that All supervisors would be tied up for the rest of the day.I think all of the above illustrates GMC Corporates horrendous customer service. As you can see, I have at least had some follow-up with the dealership, but the same cannot be said of GMC Corporate. It has now been 6 weeks and we have made no progress whatsoever in obtaining the needed part. Every time we drive the vehicle, we are taking a safety risk. My husband frequently uses the car to transport kids for Boy Scout activities, and hypothetically, if an accident were to occur where the airbags did not deploy, we will certainly hold GMC responsible.I also did a Live Chat asking for an email address for whoever is above the GMC Customer Service supervisors and was told they were not allowed to give out email addresses. GMC Corporate is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Why all the hiding?

In March 2014, I leased a Silverado double cab. No issues, truck running great. About 6 to 7 months into the lease, I started getting lights concerning the Trac Stabilizer system coming on. This came on with normal driving conditions (no wet roads or extra gravel on them). This came on a few times at first. Took it to the dealership (SeaCoast Chevrolet in Neptune, New Jersey). They could not duplicate the issue, so they gave me the truck back. Have been back 3 more times since then and still no resolution. This last time, truck stalled turning into a parking spot and the cruise control disengaged for no reason while I was doing 75 mph. This is dangerous and a major safety issue. It is now at the dealership and still have not been able to replicate the issue or come up with a solution. GM has been notified. The district manager (David **) has been involved. Have been told by many people at the dealership that they would call me back. No return calls. I have had to call them for answers. They are refusing to do anything extra besides wasting my time having make numerous trips to the dealership for repairs. They cannot perform along with major safety issues with the truck. On top of that, having to take time away from my work to do this. Extremely poor customer service on their part. Will not deal with them again once the lease is over. Handing in the keys and walking away never to return!!

He took pictures of the problem and sent it to a regional specialist who promptly rejected the claim. It was then forwarded to a DMA who chimed in with the same rejection. I would like to know why someone who has actually seen the problem refers to it as a rust through problem, yet the GM people see a picture and reject any resolution. Please contact me with a resolution at your earliest convenience.

Went into Ed Morse Service in Sunrise, FL with my 2003 Silverado diesel. Cost of repair for fuel injectors and related parts with labor, $6,500. Found out GM KNEW the injectors were deficient, so they extended the warranty time and mileage to 200,000 miles and then changed the design on future models. My truck had 179,900 miles but was beyond the warranty time limit, so I asked GM Customer Care if they would just cover the bad injectors and I would pay for all other parts and labor. Their response was in no way will we help you since you are out of warranty. The Customer Care rep was rude, didnt know about the warranty change and chased me away from buying another Chevy truck.

My fuel system control module failed at about 90,000 km. Looked up the info
My fuel system control module failed at about 90,000 km. Looked up the information on the web and found an outstanding recall for failed FSCM on my truck manufactured from June to August. My truck was made in June. Took the truck to the dealer, and was told my VIN number was 92 trucks before the recall began. Thats made on the same day or the day before, and my part failed the exact same way as described in the recall. My part was not covered, so GM charged me $900 for the repair. This was annoying, but they do have a legal leg to stand on, as theyre the ones who set the beginning of the recall, not us. VIN numbers started for recall when they believed the faulty parts hit the production line, but obviously they were off by at least a hundred. How do we know whether they got it right? I assert they did not. All they offered me in compensation - because Ive been buying GM products for 24 years - was a $200 pre-paid visa card for use at a dealership, and only for regular service, not repairs. Since then Ive also had multiple incidences of a trio of fault codes that shut down all my winter safety systems - four-wheel drive, traction control, and stabilitrak. Every time I take the truck to the dealer they reset the codes and say theres nothing wrong with the truck. Im at $400 for this problem, with no resolution. These systems are vital to driving safely where I work in northern BC, so when these codes are activated I lose the things I need most. The computer will not reset the codes even though nothing is currently wrong with the vehicle, and Im forced to drive around without my main safety components until a dealer can make time to soak me for a repair bill to reset them.GM has built in faults that could reset on their own, but dont, and make you go to the dealer to pay plenty of money and fix what isnt broken. If the codes actually identified which part is intermittently causing them, at least I could have that part changed out and the vehicle would be reliable. To top it all off, the vehicle is much less safe to drive with these features disabled, so my life is at risk until I get there. This is flat out extortion.

I purchased a 2013 GMC Terrain. It had 74000 miles on it when I bought it. 50000 miles later I have spent 2500 dollars on it. Hub replacement, wheel sensor replacement, leaking gasket causing strong fuel odor in the vehicle. Now, to top it all off I have an oil consumption issue. Its using a quart every thousand miles. When the oil gets low no warning lights come on. The dealer says it will be a minimum 3000 dollars to fix and very its very possible the motor would have to be replaced. I have 2 friends that own Chevy or GMC SUVs and they have had the same issue. GM is not the quality it used to be. Dont buy it.

GM customer care and service department are awful. On May 20th, I purchased a 2016 Camaro 2SS with 2700 miles on it. By May 30th it was acting up and in the shop for warranty work. It is now June 16th, and the dealership still has my car. And that is GMs fault. After a week the dealership was stumped and began requesting assistance from GM. After two weeks of still being stumped, the dealership began requesting a field engineer, since they had not been able to diagnose the issue in over two weeks. GM will not give them an answer. Its a less than one year old car with 2700 miles on it and its been in the shop now for three weeks straight and counting, dont you think at this point its an issue worth expediting? Its not an old car. It has very low mileage and should not have any issues. Its an almost $50,000 car for goodness sake. But in GM fashion they wont move until my attorney contacts them about a lemon law suit, and a civil suit for car payments, registration, taxes, loss of use, and being overall terrible to work with. Oh well, I guess GM doesnt care about another lemon on their record and another lawsuit lost.

Made a formal complaint with GM and said they closed my case cause they werent able to get in touch with me, really!!!! Car is in dealer now for almost 12 weeks. Now to find out the car went on fire while they were servicing it. Called GM again to find out the case was closed and had to reopen complaint and now have to wait 3 days for claim to open before I can speak with anyone. This is was $85,000 vehicle get you!!!! My 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, while still covered by GM’s Factory
My 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, while still covered by GM’s Factory Power Train Warranty, had two frayed injector wire connectors that were repaired/replaced by GM Authorized dealers using Genuine GM Parts (that come a one-year warranty). A couple months later I pulled into Casper Buick GMC Cadillac (“CASPER GMC”) and was told that 2 injectors had failed but they would be covered 100% by my warranty. Therefore, I approved the work. Later when I went to pick up my truck they told me it would not be covered by warranty and that I needed to personally pay them $2,231.04 or they would not give me my keys or release my truck to me.For two months since then, I’ve made repeated unsuccessful attempts to get a satisfactory resolution and have experienced:(i) Repeated broken promises from Matt **, of CASPER GMC and from and Jay from GM Customer Care (“GM”) to get back to me;(ii) CASPER GMC’s and GM’s willful disregard of the promises made to owners like me in GM’s Factory Power Train Warranty;(iii) CASPER GMC’s repeated and unwarranted refusal to file my warranty claim with GM, despite the fact that my truck is still under GM Factory Warranty for both the injectors (GM Factory Power Train Warranty), and the connector wires (GM Genuine Parts Warranty); and(iv) I was told by Jay at GM Customer Care that if I sought guidance from my attorney, even if such guidance did not include my filing suit, he would no longer be able to speak with me about this issue.(v) I was told by Casper GMC to contact GM Customer Care and was told by GM Customer Care to contact Casper GMC.Casper GMC and GM Customer Care do a good job of watching each other’s back but totally ignore the backs of customers like me.If this sounds like fun to you, please go straight to Casper GMC and buy a truck. I purchased a 2020 Yukon Denali at the end of December 2019. I have purchased a new Yukon or Tahoe every year since 1996. My experiences in the past have been generally great since Im always driving a vehicle with very low mileage and always still under warranty. This 2020 model had only 7000 miles on it when several service lights started to appear on the instrument panel. These included ABS braking system, Stabilitrack, Forward collision system, Cruise control, and Trailer brake system. Any of these can be serious safety issues. I brought it in immediately to my dealer in Branson, Missouri, Pinegar GMC around the first week in July. They checked it out and said it was a faulty module of some sort that controls all those things and they should have the part in a few days. It has been 2 months and they not only still do not have the part but cannot say when it will ever show up. My question is why cant they get one off the assembly line since they are obviously building these cars every day and must need these modules to keep production going? Very poor communication and customer service.

I have seriously dangerous electrical issues since I purchased this 2018 Equinox. GM claim they dont have a fix for the electrical issues. When I lift my foot off brake several sensors come on as well as door locks unlock and relock. The vehicle jerk forward or rolls backwards when foot is removed from brake. I have no choice but drive it as it is my only source of transportation. Lemon law attorneys are only concerned about getting their fee and GM offer to buy back with drastic deductions for depreciation for a few thousand dollars when my car loan was 25,000 plus thousands still owed. Just before my 36,000 mile warranty expired my aluminum rims on my company truck were corroding and heavy discoloration and instead of replacing them tho choose to have a 3rd source try to repair them. He got the corrosion off but left rough surfaces on the rims. When I brought it back less than 6 months later because they were corroding again, they gave me the run around. I went there 2 times and finally on the 3rd time the refinishing guy said he only did the edges and blamed it on everyone else. The service manager took me over to some replacement wheels and rims that he would change out on my truck, but of course that never worked even though he said it was cheaper than replacing my wheels. I can buy them on line for $185 each and that was too expensive. Next thing I knew the service manager closed out my complaint. So I went and started a new complaint. They called me days later and offered me $1000 they said, do you need running boards, bug shield, topper? I said, “Just replace my 4 wheels $740”, but would not do that or give me the money to buy them.

I own a 2012 GMC Terrain that is covered by a GMPP. The vehicle is 5 years old and has 28K miles on it. I noticed some mold growing in the carpet. I own a 2 year old Buick Envision. I heard a noise coming from under the vehicle at only 7k miles. The dealership and GM continually told me nothing was wrong. I did not give up. It took months but they finally determined there was a loose baffle in the exhaust. They finally replaced the exhaust. Dealing with them was extremely difficult. Very recently when leaving for vacation with bikes mounted on the back of the vehicle the car battery was dead. Nothing was left on and the vehicle is supposed to be protected from accessories remaining on and draining the battery. Again, GM is not standing behind the vehicle. The dealerships have prepared or canned answers for everything as to avoid making good on the warranty. As a professional buyer and car enthusiast I cannot recommend anyone buy a GM vehicle. You will not have the warranty you think you have and the vehicles experience more problems than other cars.

Tale of woe with my Chevy Silverado. If you dont want to read this entire t
Tale of woe with my Chevy Silverado. If you dont want to read this entire tale of woe then let me sum it up here. Your Chevy truck may rust out to the point of being pulled off the road because of rust in as little as 84,000 miles making it a loss for resale or trade in. Ive had a Chevrolet Silverado since 2003. I purchased it new. It is an automatic V8 Z71. The off road sport model. This story isnt about the multitude of issues that it has had regarding brakes, brake lines, rotors, wheel hubs, and bearings. No, thats another story. Back in 2003 I worked out a price, with trade in of about $23,000. Since then, and as of this writing 2014, Ive put in about $7000 of non-maintenance work and parts into it. Yes, its going on 11 years old now but its only got 84,000 miles on it and it pretty much looks near new from about ten feet away. The other day I took it to my service station for an oil change and inspection. It seems that the frame is rusted out so much that an inspection sticker is impossible. The recommendation is to get rid of it as repair of the frame would be expensive as the rust is widespread and affects cross members that are pivot points. So, Im stuck with a truck that looks great on the outside but has a rusted frame that makes it junk status in a trade-in and unsellable privately as its not inspected. The vehicle has what I figure as half of its mileage. Id expect to get at least 160,000 miles instead of the 84,000 it currently has. Why? Because even though I do live in the snow belt in Maine where road salt is used, I have a Tahoe that is 14 years old, has 164,000 miles on it (double the mileage), has been driven in the same area and housed in the same garage and has a frame that has a few years left in it.I called GM. All Ill say is that I got a case number and promise of being called back. That never happened. I called and got another case number as there was no record of the first with the promise of a call back. That didnt happen. I took it to a chevy dealer, on my own, who lifted it and documented the issue. They called GM and I was promised a call from them. That didnt happen. I called again. My case number was classified as issue resolved. My last tussle with GM was a flat youre over warranty so theres nothing we can do. Two weeks to get that final answer. So what was I hoping for? A deal on a new vehicle? Some repair funding? An apology? Anything would have been okay. In looking for a new truck last week I did find out that Toyota had a horrendous frame rusting issue in some trucks from 2001-2004. What did they do about it? Up until 2012 they volunteered owners of these vehicles a new frame installed at Toyotas expense or 150% blue book value of the vehicle. Thousands of truck owners were contacted and restitution was made. What about after 2012? They will still come to some restitution on a case by case basis as long as you own the vehicle. So, a warning. If youve got a GM vehicle and have been happy with it like I have with my older tahoe, well thats wonderful. But, the next GM vehicle you purchase could be great or it could be a disaster that will drain your bank account and cause you to have to purchase a new vehicle before youre ready. With GM, its a crap shoot.Other notes: Notice driving/headlights out on cars as they pass. Most are GM. (my truck loses them all the time). Look for used trucks on Craigslist. You’ll see a bunch. 2/3 of them a Chevys. When I see someone in a parking lot with a Silverado truck that is about the same year as mine I ask about it. I hear the same tale of woe.

We purchased a new GMC Terrain Auto 2011 and a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze in November 2011. We had trouble with 2011 GMC Terrain, 6 speed transmission, not shifting properly and getting only 24mpg on the highway and 22 around town. This was reported to GM Head Quarters in February 2012 and GM complaint people called me several times, but they tried to convince me that I expected too much. I told them all I wanted was to have the 6 speed transmission shift properly, and then I would probably get better mileage. The service department at Fox Chevrolet in Negaunee, Michigan tried it out and they insisted that there was nothing wrong. They said I was probably trying to compare my GMC Terrain with my 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, which shifted real good and got 39mpg on highway and 34mpg around town all the time. They also told me that after I put another 5,000 miles on my GMC Terrain, it would probably be better. We now have over 14,000 miles on it and I am complaining once again. The main reason is gas is so expensive and GM advertises 30mpg on highway and about 26 to 28mpg in town. So my complaint is false advertising, on the part of GM. So, I am requesting that you correct this problem. Thank you. Also, I have been a GM customer for over 25 years.

I bought a car in 2012. It was a 2010 Chevy cobalt and I have had nothing but problems out of this car since Ive had it. I ask if they could do an even trade, they said no. I paid 13000.00 for this car and to this day I still have problems with this car. I will never buy from this dealership again. I will go somewhere else before I ever go there again.

Bought 2019 Trax 2/8/19. Month later recall letter. Called GMC. told vehicle is unsafe but I could drive it, and they didnt know when parts would be in. I just had to wait till GMC figured it out! I told GMC I did not want a vehicle coming out of the gate with wheels issues. They first spoke of buy out, then I was told they are not going to accept the vehicle back! Since then I have gotten 2 invoices one stating VEHICLE NEEDS RE WELDING OF RIGHT AND LEFT ARM. Took vehicle Friday and was told it didnt need a fix. Questioned them about their finding, and their manager said he stood by his mechanics report. Took it back to dealer who said it was needed. They informed me that they had to take vehicle, and that the other dealer called it wrong. Incompetent mechanics/and putting UNSAFE VEHICLES on road, tire issues? Not acceptable. I will be speaking to an Attorney. I dont want this vehicle and I will take measures, No one forces me to take a used car, sold as new, but work already has to be done! This fix will only last till warranty is up, and then all cost to me! I dont trust anything coming from GMC. Mechanic put me back in the road with a false safety report! 2 different invoices!? Wow.

We purchased a oil pump through a local car dealership. We had to pay our mechanic to install the oil pump. The car was still having issues. We had to pay to take the vehicle to a dealership to run diagnostics to find the issue. It was confirmed the oil pump was defective and needed to be replaced. We were able to return the part and exchange for a new one with the original dealership. I asked that dealership about getting our expense on having to replace the oil pump and the diagnostics testing ($850) refunded. I was told the dealership would not issue any refund on that and to contact GM. I called GMs customer support line and was told because the mileage exceeded 36,000 miles, they would not offer any assistance on getting a refund on our expenses incurred from the defective part.

I purchased a 2012 Chevy Sonic in 2012 and this was my husband and I first vehicle from GM. We were excited to have gotten our very first vehicle and I thought we were getting a good car. In 2013, we were in the process of moving and expecting another child and we received a recall letter in the mail. In March of this year, we took our car to the dealer and suddenly we have a leak with oil and we had no oil. We were able to get a rental car for a little over a week. Last week I was driving my car to the train station and car begins to shake and I wasnt able to accelerate and operate my car. I usually get on the expressway with my daughter every morning and thank God this didnt happen on the expressway because I could have gotten in a serious car accident. Im very unsatisfied with this vehicle and I dont feel safe at all. Now, its been a week and I was told its a trans problem but they will have to see what happened to cause the trans to go out. I dont believe this will be the only issue that will come up and I dont want to find out what else is going to go wrong. We have a high interest rate and Im starting to feel this was just a bad deal altogether.

I contacted GM motors complaints department many times regarding a cracked passengers airbag section. The full airbag compartment is cracked perfectly around the bag and my car is showing the sign of service airbag. Clearly this is a manufacturing problem. However, they are refusing to pay the service to check to ensure the airbag is safe. I will hold GM responsible for ANY damage that happens if the airbag inflates for no reason since the compartment is obviously cracked and in a perfect shape around the bag. I am too scared to even have a passenger sit in my car in the front out of fear that it could inflate at anytime with no proper cause. They continually and in writing have refused to pay for the service. They will be paying a whole lot more than $100 if this bag opens up suddenly in my car.ZERO HELP from their staff. You have to contact them multiple times to actually receive a reply. Multiple emails to have someone call you back. They give you their number and extension but NEVER answer their calls. When they call you back if you are not available next to your phone, dont expect them to answer your call back even if its seconds later. NEVER EVER BUYING A GM CAR EVER IN MY LIFE AGAIN. Guaranteed am also telling everyone I know the same. They are great as long as you are signing your cheques over for them, otherwise, NO ONE CARES for your safety or anything else. Am sure this review will also be insignificant to them, but at least if anyone wants to know the truth about them, they can read all the different opinions of real people before deciding.

Tedd Britt Chevrolet (Sterling, VA) and General Motors has given me the run around. They have shown gross negligence by refusing to replace my newly purchased 2020 Silverado 1500. I have been tossed around from manager to manager, from advisor to advisor. Nobody wants to be the one caught with the customer (me) in a potential lawsuit:I have put less than 15,000 miles on the vehicle, hardly owned six months. First owner. The vehicle has been in FIVE TIMES for various electrical issues including brake system failures (x3), and most recently the vehicle shut off while I was traveling +60mph. I fear for my safety. See attached invoice photos. Their staff sees you as a number - a price tag. Their “Customer Experience Manager” did not even look at me, he talked over me, and downright refused to help me - would not even give me the customer service phone number. He said it was not his problem. Incredible. Don’t waste your time, or your safety. Buy a Ford.

Transmission wont upshift from 2 to 3 or 4 - I purchased this LS3 engine and 4L70 transmission, along with all the accessories, computers and wire harnesses. The engine works great, but the transmission wont shift. I have called GM Performances hotline techs for help and got a case number. I never get a good answer from them on connections I am supposed to make and the pinouts they send dont match up to what they are telling me to do. The last tech I talked to told me to bring it to my GM dealer with my case number. I did this yesterday, 12-5-12, and they were looking at it today. I had to bring them my laptop to look at the program and they called the techs twice, still with no answers? What is the big secret with the so-called plug and play units? Why cant I get the right wiring harness or computer program when I buy this unit? Not clear instructions even for an old GM mechanic. Can I get help with this? Thank you.

I took my 2015 Chevrolet Colorado to South town Chevrolet, Newnan, GA, on Sept 2, 2021, for a recall item. I informed them about a light on the instrument panel. The dealership repaired the recall item. They informed me that my oil pressure pump or my engine needed to be replaced. The dealership recommended replacing the engine D2 replacing the oil pressure pump might not fix the problem. The replacement cost for the oil pressure pump it was $4,500 and engine was $7,500. The dealership did take $500 off the engine replacement cost.I then inquire why would my oil pressure pump or engine need to be replaced. My truck is (6) years old with only 116,000 miles. I was given no clear explanation at the dealership. So, I file a complaint with General Motors, still no clear explanation of why I would need to replace my oil pressure pump or engine. Ive been an avid GMC customer, no more. I will not recommend GMC vehicles to any buyers. I am disappointed with GMC and their products.

So I hit a deer in Illinois (I live in New York) on November 12th and it took forever to get my parts. GM customer service had no time frame as to when my parts would be delivered. Finally my parts arrived January 3rd and my truck was completed January 6th. The whole time while we were waiting on parts customer care told me they would pay for the duration of the rental, well that was a complete lie. State Farm only covered 30 days of my rental and GM customer care said they would cover 35$ up to 30 days. I said, Great. It would cover most of the cost of the rental. They then call me a week after and tell me, We are ready to cut you a check but we are only paying up to January 6th because thats when your truck was finished. Now remember I live in New York, have a job and had to wait til I could drive back to get the truck. I explain this to them. They tell me they will get back to me with a answer. Few days later they get back to me and tell me, Sorry but we can only pay to January 6th. This made no sense at all as I explained you never called me to tell me I had to return the truck by a certain date and I had to travel from New York to Illinois. This all could of been avoided if they could of just got my parts on time but now I have to pay around 500$ or more out of my pocket. I am now going to sell my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali pickup and never buy another GM product after this. To top it off GM has recalls and a major one is you lose brakes. So far its happen to me twice luckily Im not a idiot and caught it in time before I would crash. I turned truck off and back on and it went away. But all in all Im pissed and sure am not dealing with GM anymore.

As an owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, a GMC Sierra, and having previously owned a 2010 Buick Enclave, I know I will never choose to purchase another GM Vehicle. I have had almost identical problems with the two SUVs. Both had major problems with steering, where the steering wheel locks up and will not turn quickly (almost as if the power steering goes out). This is extremely scary when you are making a turn while yielding to oncoming traffic. I had this repaired in my Enclave and it required removing the motor to repair $$$. The Traverse has had very similar problems with the timing chain which needs to be replaced (just as it happened with the Enclave). I just had the AC blower and a tire sensor replaced and was told by the mechanic that the timing chain would still be covered under warranty since the car has less than 120K miles so I went ahead and let them do the other repairs ($600 worth) only to find out that the timing chain ($3500) would not be covered under the warranty. The car is now losing power so Im sure it wont last much longer. These cars are junk after a few years and each time I called Chevrolet Cares and they would do absolutely nothing to help.

Takata admitted there was a passenger side airbag defect a decade past. I owned a 2008 Silverado with that airbag installed. GM continually said my vehicle was not due for a replacement for years. Today I got a notice that my Silverado WAS involved in GM Recall N212328760... the same recall they told me for years did not involve my vehicle. I sold that vehicle three months ago and just got the notice from GM... today. From the language in todays letter it becomes obvious to me that they were just fine with allowing me to drive a dangerous vehicle after telling me it wasnt dangerous. There seems to hint that something illegal has happened here wherein GM knowingly put the owners of these vehicles in mortal danger.

Took tahoe in for running badly. Told it needed a tune up. Ha. Platinum tip plugs on their Monroney sticker on windshield states platinum tip plugs good for 100k. They cleaned the throttle body. Replaced the platinum tip plugs with of course platinum tip plugs and after 300 dollars still runs rough. Mind u this tahoe has less than 80k miles. Then was told it had a broken motor mount on drivers side. Another 550 to replace. Called GM, no help at all. Give us a 100 back on the 300 dollars already spent for original problem that still isnt fixed. I have been in the car business for 20 plus years. Was a GM and manager for several dealerships. Pigs poor service from GM. Would never buy another GM product!! Terrible customer service!! Talked to Natalie originally and was told they would get involved if the local dealer didnt do anything. After I talked to her, asked for her boss and was told the same bs. Asked for her supervisor and was told couldnt give me that info. This is how gm takes care of their customers??

My wifes 2010 GMC Acadia has 60200 miles. We have had it in for the gauges not coming on right away. I still believe it is in the ignition switch. Vehicle was taken in for steering problems. Steering would lock up. Deal charged me 1400.00 to replace the power steering pump, rack and pinion, and struts. They advised GM recommends a 12 vain steering pump instead of a 6 vain pump. GM knows there is a problem with this but will not do a recall. I can believe they dont care about wives and grandchildren safety. I have owned 24 GM products since I was 16 years old. I am 60 now with three GM products including a Duramax Diesel. I dont like to buy foreign but I guess I will have to start.

Highly dissatisfied and frustrated GM and my local dealership, Randy Marion
Highly dissatisfied and frustrated GM and my local dealership, Randy Marion Chevrolet, for attempts to dodge repairing a known problem with my 2012 Chevy Equinox for excessive oil consumption. Ive bought probably a dozen or more GM vehicles over the past 20+ years (3 in my driveway now) and I dont ever want to see the service department at Randy Marion Chevrolet again, or own another GM vehicle. Im that upset. I posted my full complaint at carcomplaints.com (2012 Equinox engine problems -- excessive oil consumption) to warn other people who might want to buy an Equinox or deal with this dealership. Service department as well as GM Customer Service is not to be trusted and uses any excuse to avoid fixing a known problem with this vehicle, despite a letter from GM saying what the problem is and what the fix is.GM seems to communicate with the dealership and back them up in their ridiculousness and go against their own letter stating they know the car has a problem and what the proper fix is. Been going back and forth with them since March over an issue with excessive oil consumption in my car, and still no fix. Ive put another 15,000 miles on my car that is frequently low or not even registering oil. No one should have to repeatedly prove that their car is consuming excessive amounts of oil. Ive had them document it at least 5 or maybe 6 times and because my car needed a new timing chain at the end of this long oil consumption test process they tell me I have to start everything over again.Letter clearly says its a piston ring problem and they know about it. Common sense is out the window here. Very disappointed at their efforts to delay fixing my car when they know its consuming oil. Concerned about how much damage is being done to my engine. Read my story on carcomplaints.com and be warned! GM does not stand behind their vehicles anymore, and I wont support them any longer.

I have owned GM products since the early 80s, including 2 Buicks, 2 Corvettes, a Malibu, an Envoy and now a Terrain Denali. This included a full navigation system that listed at over $400. Just over a year after the purchase the navigation system stopped working, but since I did not use it, I did not bring it in to get to get fixed. I did bring it in just past the warranty period of 2 years and they were unable to service it that as the particular service tech that worked on these systems was not in. Finally got it in yesterday, 3 years after purchase and they want $728 to replace a interface control module. Yes its over the 2 year warranty period, so they are correct, but this is just too much. So much for customer loyalty. I have redeemed over $19,000 of the GM Card on new products and now I am cancelling and will never buy another GM product. Currently have over $3k credit on the card and cant use that to fix the navigation system either. This module also runs the ON-STAR system.

I was contacted by GM to extend the 3 yr warranty on my Chevy today. Forwarded to a man named Brad who eventually quoted me the price. I declined as I am a solo parent and unable to afford this additional coverage that would be $495/down plus 12x$274/month. Brad says he understands because he is a single dad. I reiterated that I am a solo parent--not the same as single, which generally means a child is shared by two parents. At this point, Brad explains his ex is in jail and says hes a single dad too - before anything else can be said, he gets nasty with me, adding, That was the rudest thing Ive ever heard in my life and I dont even want to help you... before hanging up on me. Brad, I still dont have that kind of extra money and am still a solo parent. Sorry to counter that what you just exhibited is a total lack of understanding and added aggression. No, thank you, GM.

I purchased a 2013 Chevy avalanche. It has less than 12,000 miles on it. The frame has a rust issue. The wax dipped, undercoating is coming off. There has been a tsb issued by GM about this issue. I took it to my local dealer over 7 weeks ago. I have been around and around. I have also called GM consumer affairs several times. They are useless. The regional rep looked at pictures of my truck taken by the body shop manager at Harry Green Chevy. They called me and said they had a solution to bring my truck in on a Monday. I did and waited for a week, drove by dealer the following Sunday. I found my truck out behind the dealer unlocked and NO work had been done. They were suppose to dismantle the entire truck and powder coat the frame. The body shop manager said regional manager oked the work. After finally talking to the regional guy, I found the body shop manager was lying. I was told my truck would be fixed. But they did not know how or when. I was told they would call me on Monday. That was over a week and a half ago. I have heard nothing. The rust is so severe I do not feel safe in the truck. I do not want to put my family or my employees in the truck for the fear of failure. I expressed this concern to the body shop manager and regional manager Rich **, he said it was safe even though he had never seen my truck - only pictures of it. I need resolution ASAP. I told ** I need a vehicle to drive until he decides what the solution is. Because my family does not feel safe in the truck. He laughed and he refused the rental. How I was on the phone with ** and talking to the body shop manager. The conversation was getting heated. The owner of the dealership Mr Green was in the same room. Never asked what the issue was, how he help nothing. He was talking to contractor doing remodeling. He was even trying to talk over our conversation. This dealership does not represent GM very well. I have called the service manager 5 times, still have never heard a thing from him in the last 6 weeks. I have even went to dealer three time to talk to him - he is never around. His name Byrd. I need this issue resolved. I need a rental or a dealer loaner until they find a solution. Or just pay me the sticker price for my truck, I will go else where. Please respond.
