We owned this fridge for 7 years. After 1 year, the plastic started cracking and falling apart. The shelves were partially exchanged under warranty but another year later started falling apart again. Now all of the plastic is cracked (clear and white plastic) and today the shelf fell off entirely onto my wifes foot with all of the condiments in it. I cant believe that such an expensive fridge has such poorly made plastic that wouldnt even be acceptable for a cheap fridge. If Viking was proud of their products, they should exchange or fix these kind of things, but it does not seem they care.

I have been familiar with the Viking brand all my life. I bought a 30-inch dual fuel range from them two months ago. It is the very first Viking appliance I owned. However, we had to have a repair immediately because a fan was defective on it. They were prompt in getting the repairman out and getting it repaired under warranty work. I was pleased with that. But I still need to figure out how to monitor the temperature to make sure it’s calibrated right because my baking seemed to be different than in the past ovens. It doesnt seem to be baking as quick. So, I wonder if it might need to be calibrated that the temperature is running a little bit low. Other than that, the dealer and the technician were very good. I got a good deal on the product and so far, Im satisfied with Viking.

Weve always wanted a Viking range but just never got around to getting one. We finally did and we chose Viking over others because they used to be the gold standard. We thought that the Viking Range was a good one and I had a buddy that loves it too. I like the gas stove/electric oven option, its the best of both worlds. I also love the quality. I thought I had an issue with the oven not being temperatured right and so I called the dealer. They came out immediately and it was calibrated properly. I was very impressed by their responsiveness.

We purchased a newly built home and had all Viking appliances installed. The range puts out good heat but the oven is definitely malfunctioning. It cycles every minute no matter what temperature you set it to so if I am baking something that takes 2 hours, Ill hear the igniter click and the flame come on over 100 times. I dont know if its because the flame is reigniting so often but the smell of gas is so strong. Also, the door gets so hot you cant even touch it without wearing an oven mitt. All of these make me afraid to use the oven. I called Viking and theyve sent out the same repair person twice who told me that the cycling every minute is normal and the door is supposed to get hot because heat radiates. I understand heat radiates but it shouldnt get so hot you can burn yourself. What happens if children accidentally get close to the oven? I also dont understand why for a supposed high end oven, the temperature cant be maintained for more than a minute when the flame goes out before it reignites again. And since its cycling every minute no matter what temp you set it to and regardless if you leave the oven door closed for 2 hours (yes, we tested it with the door closed for 2 hours to make sure we werent losing heat from opening the door), it doesnt seem like the cycling is temperature related at all. When I call Viking, they tell me this is NOT normal and a repair person needs to come out to make adjustments. Theyve sent the same repair person twice who insists this is normal. I called again today and asked for a different company. The same person has been scheduled to come out tomorrow, wholl likely tell me again that this is what I have to get use to with this oven. This oven is a hazard. Youll either be afraid to use it or youll end up burning yourself or inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. I had to turn the oven off yesterday because I got a terrible headache from the fumes. I am writing this to advise everyone to not buy a Viking. Also, now it is documented that these issues existed in the event something bad happens.

I have some friends who have Viking at their home and Ive heard a lot of good reviews about the brand. I liked its name, quality and the look of it. It’s also pretty durable from what I was told. Things went perfectly fine with the dealer. I bought an eight-burner range and I like the grill part of it where I could cook steak on the side.

Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

I purchased a Viking Refrigerator DTBB363R had several repairs. Now, I get a recall with the option to purchase at $3,600 plus tax. The Viking representative caught me off guard with offering a new refrigerator which is configured exactly the same with a new warranty at half the original price. My receipt from Sun Appliance shows we paid $4,490 on October 7, 2003. We are retired on a fixed income and feel this is unjustified. We feel we are caught between the eight ball. We do not want a defective product that could injure someone. And since the refrigerator has custom panels to match the custom kitchen design, we have no other choice but to purchase another one. Shame on Viking!

I went to the dealer because as they delivered it, their reps also noticed that it was dented. The replacement came and it was dented too. Im waiting for it to be replaced since September. Other than that, the refrigerator has been great. They just need to pack their refrigerators better in case there might be an issue.

We purchased a complete Viking kitchen which included a range top, downdraft hood, a dishwasher, a Dutch oven, the refrigerator and the convection microwave. We’re satisfied with everything except for the refrigerator because every time you open the freezer, the ice overflows to the floor and I think it’s a design flaw. It doesn’t happen every single time, but the ice builds up and theres no back on the refrigerator, so it goes straight down and falls on the floor. So, somebody has to get to the floor and pick up the ice cubes. But I like the digital controls of the fridge and everything else is fine. Im very surprised about this one item and I know that LG makes their refrigerators so that may be the issue here, but I have heard only good things. I did a research because I know that previously, there were problems with the Viking refrigerators, and I was assured that that had been taken care of. It may be a minor adjustment but weve only had it set in place for three weeks, so weve been dealing with it. If it continues, then Im gonna rattle some cages.

My husband wanted a Viking range. We bought one and it has been terrible. We took in the dimensions of the range that we had in. Their guaranteed me it would fit and that the would be a half-inch further out than the existing range we had which was not a big deal at all. However, when their delivery guys got here, it stuck out 4 inches further. So, we had to cut into our granite to get it to fit. Also, their guys didnt bring a range cord with them to do the installation so we had to take the one off of our old range. They also told us that the range would fit and that it wont stick out once we took the granite out. Still, because of the width of the plug, it stuck out. They eventually told me that they would come back three days later with a long enough gas hose and recess the plug in the wall. Instead, they came back with another gas hose that wasnt long enough. I have a 2-foot hose and a 4-foot one and they had two supply lines hooked together. The installers also scratched my floor. After all this, Viking has not been acceptable. Nobody wants to have two gas lines. Its just another spot for it to leak. At that point, I told them that I dont want them messing with my range. They already scratched the floor ones. My husband can change out the gas line and so were gonna do it. Yet another problem was that the door of the range wouldnt open so they sent out a text to fix that plate across the bottom. Three days later, we were actually going to use it for the first time and the light kept coming on. We called them out to fix that and it took a week for them to come out. When they did, the tech said that our hinges were busted so the door was stuck. They also didnt have the part with them so we had another 10 days without a stove. The second time the installers left, they ran over my garbage cans and left them in the middle of the road. So, I called and talked to their guy and he told me that they would figure out what they were gonna do about my garbage cans and the scratches on the floor. However, we never heard back from him. I sent a message a week later telling him that Im very disappointed with the service. We try and shop local, support smaller businesses, and it’s disappointing that they couldnt even get back to me. When I talked to him again, he said he thought I was gonna call him back. He also said that the only thing they would do was refund me the installation fee. Though they were gonna send somebody out to fix our floor, it would cost me. Im not trusting anybody that theyre gonna send out at this point.

The people who repaired at our beach house in Florida did a great job and they were very nice. They got our Viking fixed. But when I spend that kind of money on appliances, I shouldnt have to have them fixed, especially two of them the day they were installed. The way the world is today, it took eight weeks to get somebody to fix them. It was not a good situation. We will not be buying any more Viking appliances, though we bought a lot in the past and they look great. We’ve been very, very disappointed with the quality of them. It has gone downhill. Weve had problems with a lot of the appliances we bought lately, starting with ones we bought for our ranch. I bought five new appliances in the last four months, and after they were installed, the oven and the dishwasher didnt work.

Viking Ranges would have made a good return on my investment when I sell my house but so far, the quality is not good. I have about 5 issues that are in the process of being rectified, like not all burner lights work and when the oven and some of the burners are on, all the burners would light continuously and wont stop. I have called and spoken with them numerous times and I have sent emails too, and they were knowledgeable enough to help me with what I needed. Im waiting for the parts but a week has passed and they told me that the parts department is not shipping anything until the middle of the month. The quality control and the packaging could have been better before the units leave the factory line. Also, it seemed that a lot of the damages were the result of transporting the product.

The servicemen I called would not touch it, due to Viking not sending parts in a timely manner or not having parts. Thank goodness the retailer who sold our kitchen appliances to us will stand by their service!! They are going to try to repair our refrigerator without the part. Viking DISCONTINUED the part for a 7 year old refrigerator!!! We found this out after waiting one MONTH for Viking to let the retailer know. I have an entire kitchen of Viking appliances... I am so bummed. These appliances were supposed to be top end. Buyer BEWARE. Our local retailer no longer carries Viking due to these problems.

The model rvrf336ss5 has been known to have leaking issues and freezing issues in the chill drawers. It is a sleek and nice fridge in appearance but don’t be fooled.Viking will do support teams are essentially trained to do everything they can to not replace their faulty merchandise. After 9 service calls the service department said they still lacked sufficient information. Viking will send their own “approved” service department, who essentially are too scared to report the truth because Viking will pull their contracts. This isn’t an opinion rather what we were backhandedly told. I am a handicapped frontline medical worker who has now retired and my husband is a frontline medical worker. We purchased a Viking range in 1996 for $4,000. We began having problems with the oven igniters not working, therefore could not use the oven. We had them replaced the first time, at the cost of $217.89 on 12-23-98. This problem has recurred on a regular basis. We have replaced the igniters repeatedly on: 8-12-02 for $271.25, 7-13-06 for $310.00, 2-17-10 for $245.05, 1-21-10 for $265.26, and 8-09-11 that cost $402.95. Two days after the last repair, on 8-11-11, the igniters again would not work.As I write this today, I am without the use of my range again and find myself waiting for repairs to the same one later this week. This has become a nightmare! We have spent nearly $2,000 in repairing the same defective part over and over again. We are retired and cannot afford to keep replacing the igniters that are defective. The range is totally unreliable. I never know if it is going to light when I turn it on. We have used only repair services that are officially recommended by Viking. Our calls and concerns to Viking go nowhere.Upon investigating further, I have found that the igniters have been a constant problem in these Viking ranges and they were forced to redesign the igniter/burners system in the newer ranges. Where does that leave those of us who own these lemons? I would like to consider taking action against Viking.

Viking is a well-known name and I made the assumption that since it was extremely expensive, it would be good. The good part is that its nice looking, it heats up quick and it functions well. Unfortunately, we have a warranty repair situation thats still ongoing. The oven has a cooling fan which is quite aggressive, so anytime the oven goes on, theres a fan that blows air from behind the oven to keep the electronics cool, so it really throws off a lot of heat. The problem is as the oven is warming up and/or cooling down, the cooling fan starts to make something in the oven rattle quite loudly. So at a certain point in time, it’ll start to rattle for about a minute and then as the oven warms up, the rattle will go away. Youll get the same thing on the cool down. After the oven is shut off, it’ll come on for some period of time. We had the fan replaced under warranty last week and it didn’t fix the problem. But the store where I purchased the Viking put me in touch with the independent appliance repair place that would do the warranty work, and the repair place was prompt in doing their work. So my experience has been good except for the part that its not fixed yet.

We had a house built and installed all new Viking D3 appliances. We have had problems with every single one of them. We moved in in May 2013 and as of December, we have had the Viking repairman to our house at least 4 times. Who has time for that? Every time has been for the refrigerator and at least one other appliance. Every time we have had to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of food. As I write this review a few days before Christmas, the refrigerator randomly decided to stop working. Convenient now that I have a turkey and all of the other items to make Christmas dinner. I am so frustrated with this brand. After you spend the amount of money these appliances cost, you expect them to work. The authorized repair reps are idiots. Our repairman actually once told me that the refrigerator was leaking water all over the floor because we put leftovers in the refrigerator and bacteria crawled into the drain line and clogged it up. Um... what???!!! The refrigerator leaked on two different occasions and warped our wood floor. The repairman moved the refrigerator and scratched our wood floor. The oven took hours to cook anything - even a simple meatloaf. The shelves slid out once the door was open. The temperature fluctuated +/- 15 degrees. He told us that was normal or the food would burn. No. Just no. The burners on the gas range only light halfway around. The vent just stopped working. The dishwasher leaves dishes wet. I would never recommend these products to anyone. I wish I would have read these reviews first. I hope anyone that reads this decides against Viking. They are pretty, but they cost too much to have this many problems.

The current situation with Viking is an oven relay that has been backordered for over six weeks. Considering the poor quality of Viking appliances, their parts department should be overstocked. We had a bad experience with our GE Profile refrigerator. The drawers were flimsy and plastic and I replaced one particular drawer three different times in six years. So we went to our appliance store, looked at our options for refrigerators and see what would physically fit into our existing space. We have Viking stoves and we like them and the gentleman showed us the Viking refrigerator. We liked the way it looked and it fit our space so we bought it. We also liked its vegetable drawer which is much better than the GE. We have a lot of fruits and vegetable in our house and we use the wide drawer for vegetables. We can live with it. However, when the ice maker feature drops in a little bucket, it kind of makes a big noise. But beyond that, its been great. Their team at the dealer was also very good. Unfortunately, the guys that came out and put the refrigerator in the first time didnt level it. It was an inch and a half out off the cabinets that it sort of resides in on the top and an eighth of an inch out on the bottom. But we called the next day and the guys at Aitoro sent somebody out within an hour and a half. They leveled it and it was perfect.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Ive already had to have it replaced. Its a brand new machine, and every time I open up the door, the ice falls down. It is horribly designed. They should have figured it out. The ice machine is not one of those where you put a cup into it. Its just like a normal ice machine where one has to open up the door. Viking Range Hood - We went with Viking and paid extra for the hood thinking we would get exactly what we wanted and good customer service. On delivery we were sent the wrong size chimney to fit the range. This was in April of 2016. The part was ordered and did not arrive until October 2016. When we finally received the part it had a scratch down the front of it which means it had to be reorder again. I have contacted customer service 2 times and cannot get an explanation to why it takes so long to get the correct part sent to us. This is a mistake that they made in the first place. I’ve had multiple problems with the range. It doesn’t go to temperature. It doesn’t cook food the way it should. It takes very long to heat up. The top of the stove is very difficult to clean. I would never buy it again. I had the rack inside my oven replaced. If youre going to pull it out, it has so much play and wiggle room. When you have food on it, it dips down because there is so much play. When I replaced it, they told me it would probably do it again and they were right. It did. So I am not truly a fan. It’s not worth the money you spent. Also, their customer service portion really needs to be a little bit better. But I do like how the top of the stove cooks. I like the output there. I purchased a refrigerator, a stove, wine cooler and vent hood from Viking. The refrigerators quality is great. It looks good and it works well. But we had a cosmetic issue with it about its packaging. I guess it’s from the factory like somebody had scoured through the packaging to get the handles attached. They basically cut the steel when they did so it got scour marks on the steel. I’ve already filed a warranty claim and somebody contacted me. They were supposed to schedule a time to come out but I never heard from them again. The last time I did was eight weeks ago and I just remembered recently that it never got done. When I was speaking with the team at Viking Refrigerators, the experience is generally pretty good. But it was a little frustrating that I had to go separately to register the warranty then come back to them to do it rather than staying to do it with them right then and there. It should have been a little bit easier. But other than that, the experience with talking with them about the problem seemed fine. But they havent followed up with the local contractor. I got a call from Viking shortly after being contacted by the local person asking me if the contractor finished it which I told them that they have not. Then they said to check back in with them but I don’t think anyone has. Other than that, I find it interesting that they dont have French door built-in refrigerator on the larger sizes. We got their 42-inch size and Viking doesn’t offer a French door refrigerator which we would’ve liked. But at the end of the day, the cost difference to go for a Wolf or Subzero ‘cause they have that as an option on a built-in is not worth it. And I will still recommend Viking.

We were looking for those high-end ranges and we looked at the model. We liked the self-closing feature the most and the other brand name didn’t have it, which was why we chose Viking. The quality of the range is not bad but it doesn’t have a lot of features. Compared to my old one, which is about $3,000, the Viking range doesn’t have a timer, a warm-up feature and a clock. We had an issue with it in the beginning but we asked for service and the guy fixed it for us, but I don’t know if it is a strong range. Also, once I roast or bake something, the grease spreads out and I have to clean the oven very hard every time. Mine is a 7 Series Viking Range and it doesn’t have self-cleaning, but my old one has that. Some repair people come with knowledge and some have different opinions. I did not buy the Viking refrigerator from the same dealer, so I did not register my refrigerator but they have a warranty for 10 years. The handle came off after less than a year of using the refrigerator and it did not come with any instruction to fix the handle but I figured out how to fix it. After I fixed it, we saw something wrong with the Viking Range. So, we asked the guy if they have a special tool for that or just a screw. He said no but I figured it out myself.

I heard about Viking Ranges online and from friends that had it. I liked the name, the look and the feel. There’s a lot of good parts, and as far as the performance, the heating elements of it, especially the oven, its very good. It heats up really fast and I really like the feature. However, the main issue I have with the range I bought is the door being so heavy. It has different panels and then those panels are latched to each other. I’ve been having issues with the door not latching all the way because it’s so heavy that it’s coming apart. And since the door doesn’t close all the way, now the heat is escaping. I had a technician come out here twice already who tried to repair that and rescue that back in there, but now it’s the same issue happening. They won’t replace the door. I’ve called everywhere and nobody gave me a satisfactory solution. At first I called from the retailer I bought it from. It was right at the end of the warranty period. So the first time they came out here, it was still under warranty. They repaired it and no charge. And then, six to eight months later the same thing happened again and the guy came out here again. So, he wrote it up and apparently they didn’t want to replace the door. They just repaired it. So, we’re having the same problem. And then I tried to call Viking directly and then I had under the warranty extended warranty go to waste. If you pay a lot for something you have high expectation and high quality, but it doesn’t seem like it. And then we call and don’t get the resolution that we expected. For that reason, I would never buy a Viking again.

I have several friends who have Viking Ranges and they all have raved about it. I use it often at their lake houses, vacation homes, and homes. I purchased mine from Elite Appliances in Dallas and my personal contact was Jeff. He was the most responsive vendor I’ve ever worked with. He would follow up on a regular basis via email, phone call, and text messaging. I was very impressed with him. He really took me on as a very personal customer and he was very good about understanding what I really needed. I was buying five or six different Viking pieces which was a big order that I’m sure was small to him. The product quality is exceptional and the range itself is very sturdy and more commercial like.

When we remodeled the house two years ago, we put in all Viking appliances because they were cheaper. Then about a month ago, I got a new fridge from Viking as a warranty replacement. Im not happy about the replacement fridge because the one that I had before was better quality. The quality of the stainless steel of this new one is very marginal. Everything is on the stainless such as fingerprints. Viking also didnt give me options for a water dispenser. Furthermore, it was a very long process to get it replaced. I got the phone call in March and the fridge was eventually replaced in August. The refrigerator that came was damaged with shipping, so they took it out and had to put it all back again. The installers were also not very educated about the product. It wasnt a pleasant experience.

I like the aesthetics of the Viking Range and the way it fits in the kitchen. It’s also decent quality. There are higher-end ones but I’m not one that’s gonna spend that kind of money, and even this is overkill. But this would be a better choice. Also, at the time that we bought it, there was a rebate on the range with the hood so that also persuaded us a bit.

The house I bought came with a Viking range already installed, and I like it in general. It’s got a few years on it and it wasn’t under warranty anymore. I’ve had nice, quality ranges so far in my life, and the Viking range is really good too. But I had to have service on it because of issues with the door not being aligned right. The person that fixed it knew what he was doing and treated me well. He gave me good information and did what he could to remedy the issue, so I was pleased with that. He was nice and did a good job, and I would call him again if I had any more issues. The range is mostly fixed but not perfect, so I’m a little disappointed but not heartbroken. I wish it had a little bit more durability, but otherwise, its all good.

Wolf and Viking were our go-to brands and Viking Ranges price point was better than Wolf. The Viking dealer we bought it from was more of a challenge. We had a damaged Viking hood that we had to get replaced and I know the product was non-Viking. We got a fourth trim kit before it was not dented out of the box. If I didnt go in there and follow up all the time, I wouldnt have it. They could have answered emails or returned phone calls. And I was very disappointed that we spent like $38,000 of them. But we eventually got it all resolved four months later. Its the best oven weve ever owned. When you cook meat in it, everything just comes out so much better. Its easier to cook them to temp. We cooked one of those Tomahawk steaks for the first time and it came out just like in a restaurant. It was amazing. My wife likes the gas grills because before weve had all kinds of high-end electric ovens over the years and they were okay but not like this oven.

The oven temperature was anywhere from 25 to 100 different from the dial reading--had to buy an oven thermometer to realize that it was the oven and not me. Service guy came out a month later and recalibrated it. Temperature was still 25 degrees different than the dial reading. Technician returned two weeks later and replaced the thermostat and internal computer. Still 25 degrees discrepancy from the dial reading. Viking rep told me that I just needed to get used to the oven. A $6000 range should not perform this way. I liked Vikings reputation for quality, specifically the range. I live in an all-electric home and adding gas would’ve been pricey. I got a high-quality range still within the parameters of my house but purchasing with the Viking dealer was the one bit of a dark spot. Appliances Connection wasnt very good at communicating the timeline for the reception and the arrangement for shipping was not great either. The communication on that was poor. When they finally scheduled the delivery, they told me when it was going to occur and I waited two hours after the fact. I was waiting at our work site since I don’t live where I was renovating. I finally called them to see what was going on. They said that the shipment was delayed and that they weren’t going to deliver it that night. It was 10 p.m. after they told me I had to wait, so that was frustrating. Nonetheless, the range looks incredible and I’m very anxious to test it out in cooking. Also, we liked the color options. It was silly, but it was really nice. We picked the graphite gray and it’s perfect. Although the dealer and the delivery were a little frustrating, everyone was professional when they delivered and they did a really nice job of getting it into the house quickly and safely. They had the tools to do it well.

We moved in our brand-new house in November around Thanksgiving and the Viking refrigerator was in it. Ive never had it working since Day One. In less than a year, I have lost everything twice in there. The ice and water dispenser have not worked and part of the problem was there was no local repairman. I went online and found the only authorized repairman in the state but he happened to be two hours away. I talked to him and he was nice enough but he was gonna charge an arm and a leg to come up here. He tried to talk me through it and gave me some instructions. Our kitchen looked beautiful. Viking appliances look great but dont last. Bought a wall oven in 2006 and had it fixed twice and then had to replace it with a Maytag in 2012 because the self-cleaning option burned up so much of the electronics that it was cheaper to buy a new oven. Our microwave, also bought in 2006, has been repaired twice and now we are going to replace it because it needs to be repaired again. Our beverage refrigerator either freezes anything close to the sides or can only keep things above 40 degrees, nothing in between. The thermostat was replaced but it made no difference. We are now using it as a cabinet for extra housewares. Our dishwasher works GREAT since we only use it about five times/year. The oven door on our large 6 burner stove has never been level but it works well enough for my use. My calls to Viking have produced nothing but oh sorry, you are just out of warranty but here is your closest authorized repair shop. I will NEVER buy another Viking product and will not recommend them to anyone.

The Viking Professional side-by-side refrigerator has operated for about 7 years without any real issues. However, today the water dispenser activated and flooded our kitchen floor. Thankfully we were home and awake when it happened and were able to figure out if we lock the dispenser the water stops flowing. The ice dispenser works fine, but the water flows even when the ice dispenser is being used. It keeps beeping as it would when locked and someone tries to use it, even though the switch is not being physically activated. This makes me VERY nervous to even repair it as the damage it would cause if it went on for hours and hours (or even days if we were to travel) is nerve-wracking. What if it malfunctions again? The repair guy is coming in a couple days and we hope it wont dispense water while locked.

Both our built-in freezer and refrigerator were purchased brand new with extended warranties. Freezer constantly breaks down and the technician cannot fix it right away and they have to keep coming back to change parts and still it take 3 to 4 weeks sometimes to fix it. That is why I purchased a spare Kenmore freezer used for $200.00 and it works better than my $5000.00 dollars Viking freezer, it does not break down. The refrigerator is falling apart. All the drawers are all broken or cracked from change in temperature and the warranty does not cover bad quality products. I’ve seen Viking Ranges around, and Ive seen them evolve into a more sophisticated product than they were originally. They are robust, close to commercial in quality and performance, but have the benefit of being thoughtful of a residential home. They have convection, high heat, and different things one might want, like a broiler and a griddle, and you may or may not want it. And they have stood the test of time. I had a Garland for 25 years. It was commercial and rugged, but it didnt keep up.The reps were not knowledgeable at the store that I bought it at. But they were not unfriendly. I came prepared, having done my homework. And I felt a little rushed. But too bad for me, you have to have tough feelings. I had an insurance plan and something went wrong. And the insurance wasnt the easiest thing to work out. It was hard to get them and to get help. That was a little slippery. The irony of it all is my electrician rewired the kitchen and they had switched the neutral. The stove knew it, and was misbehaving, and we thought it was the stove. The people in Brooklyn who fixed it, top shelf. They could have told me anything. They diagnosed the truth. “You got the wrong polarity, fix it”. We fixed it, but the stove was never broken. That is more important to me than the sales people by a mile. Viking has excellent factory trained technicians. Love that. The reason I bought the Viking was it has a smart sensor. If the flame went out, it knew, and it lighted it. I was stunned at that. It may have been around a long time, but I didnt know about it. So it has everything I’ve seen in lots of places, but it has a smart technology that is lifesaving. It’s fantastic. The caveat is weve had it a few years. The quality is good, and the performance is excellent. We rattle the doors, turn the knobs and spill things just like anybody else. And so far, its just humming along. I would recommend that stove in a heartbeat. And this is a person who had a Garland for a long time.

We remodeled our kitchen eight years ago. We were so excited that our new kitchen was going to be an all Viking Professional kitchen, seven appliances. Unfortunately, our excitement was short lived. We began having issues, first, with our range. After several years of dealing with the oven we finally got those issues resolved. The refrigerator is just not well made. The crisping drawer has lost its plastic windows. The plastic butter keepers on the door have broken also. But we have had to have the ice maker repaired continually. Currently, the water dispenser and ice bucket have broken again. We had our repairman find out how much it will cost to replace them. Its going to cost $1,600 to replace the parts. So we have decided not to put any more money into repairing this refrigerator since we could have bought a brand new one with the money we have already spent on repairs on this one. We also have a Viking Professional three zone wine refrigerator. The fans for the different zones continue to break. We are currently waiting on two fans because two zones fans are broken. In fact, this time one fan broke and we ordered the fan. When it arrived it had broken in the mail. In the meantime another fan has broken. So we are currently waiting on two new whole fan units. Our Viking Professional dishwashers bottom rack only has one wheel because the others have broken. On the top rack there are folding panels on the sides that have broken so many times that we have just zip tied them on. And the door on the soap dispenser has broken off. I realize our appliances are eight years old but we have had problems with them from the very beginning. I also realize Viking is under new ownership. But, unfortunately, Ive lost my faith in the brand.

Ive spoken to three different representatives. The first one told me to go on and make sure all my products were registered and then call back the next day. When I called the next day, the lady said shell get it set up for me. She gave me a repair number and the name of the company to call. I called the service company and they said that Im outside of their service area and they wont do the work regardless of whether Ill pay for it or not. I called back Viking and the next lady worked to try to find somebody else who could fix it for me. She looked it up and said Im out of warranty and Im out of luck. But I told her I have no problem paying to have a service provider come out and fix it. I was also willing to pay for the parts and I was not looking for them to pay for any of it. I was just looking for assistance to find an authorized service provider that can do the work for me so the dishwasher can get back up and working.Im so frustrated about my Viking appliances that Ive really enjoyed and which have worked better than I anticipated. Its rough for me right now because I cant find anybody who is willing to work on them. And the company doesnt seem to care about whether or not I can fix the whole top of the dishwasher that doesnt work. Also, I have a matching set for the kitchen and replacing the whole thing seems ridiculous.

Viking range is great. I love the way the stove boils the food and cooks it. It has a whole setup on it. You dont see the flame come up but can adjust the way it goes. Its also safer for children. But right now, its not working and it needs to be fixed. We called customer service about it and they called a contractor. Were still waiting on the parts to come back. The wires burned up so we had to replace the whole surface. Once I receive the parts, I should be doing great unless they need it to be replaced.

We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest.
We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest. We liked Vikings reputation and some of our friends have Viking appliances as well. My whole experience started off with one dealer. When I went in there, I gave them a deposit but I ended up canceling that because the woman that I was dealing with didn’t know the product line at all. So, I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So, knowing what I wanted, I then reached out to a dealer on Long Island and everything at that point was done across the phone. And the girl that I dealt with did an excellent job for us. So we purchased the 48-in range, the dishwasher and below the counter microwave. And I was really happy with that as far as the coordination and delivery of the equipment. I’ve also spoken to Viking directly done in Mississippi a couple of times and they were helpful. I had a couple of questions and in the middle of everything, there was a model change going on. called them and said all right, tell me the differences between what I had ordered and what I’m going to receive and they did a good job of explaining the difference there. When I had the issue with the dented panel on the dishwasher, they turned it over to a third-party and I was hoping that they could address the issue sooner than later, but it was a smaller organization. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get them out to the house but when they came, they were spot on and did an excellent job. So, while I had to wait longer than I would have liked, I was happy with what they did.It was interesting because one of my friends has not had a good experience with Viking around the range and parts. But I didn’t allow that to bother me because I don’t know how much of it was them or how much of it was Viking. There are always two sides to every story. So, even hearing the horror stories that they had to tell, I am pleased with what we did and I’d be happy to recommend Viking to anyone so far.

I was very happy with the quality of the Viking Range. I had a Viking gas range for probably 12 years, and this time, I went with a Viking induction range because my house didn’t have gas hooked up. Im still trying to get accustomed to the induction range because its different than gas. But I love the way that its easy to clean. It looks great. The control knobs and everything are really sharp looking.I would buy a Viking product again. However, I did not have good experiences with the dealers. I had been trying to buy a Viking range at least two months before I actually got to purchase it because I was already a Viking customer. Every place I went to said they were not doing Viking anymore. They said they were phasing it out. So, I was just kind of laid back and waited, and then I contacted Viking directly and tried to get information on my own. I finally went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, and they had given me the runaround the first time. The next time we went, I found somebody that would sell it to us, but they didn’t have much in stock. We had to buy just from a picture.

I like the aesthetics and the looks of it at the outside, and inside its just as beautiful. I like the Viking style. But we havent had our Viking fridge for very long when the door opened and got a dent because it hit the cabinet. We had a refrigerator for 15 years and it never had a ding in it. But now Im so disappointed that we have this beautiful fridge thats not even a month old and it already has a ding it.

I hear about Viking Refrigerators everywhere. I hear about it online, I talked to people that bought my appliances. I go to the store and they show me the good one. I liked Viking for the size and the quality of the way the freezer was put together. It doesn’t have all those get your cherry coffee or pressurized in 12 different ways because those were the things that always break down and we don’t care about. Also, Viking has a good reputation. However, the stainless steel is impossible to clean decently and keep streak-free. It’s horrible. You can’t buy a good refrigerator with stainless steel anymore. It kinda breaks my heart. Also, the fridge gets too cold for gentle stuff that you put towards the back where the cold air comes out and that’s always been an issue. I thought it wouldn’t be with my fridge, but it is so I just raise the temperature. When the fridge was installed, I had Viking come out because it was making too much of the little gurgling noise that it has a reputation for making and I felt it seemed excessive. An authorized service representative came out, played with it for about an hour, pulled it out, plugged and unplugged it, couldn’t find anything wrong, then left. I then noticed after he left that the small panel at the bottom of the freezer was not reattached correctly and I was unable to do it myself because I was afraid I was gonna break it.I called the service people back and then they gave me a hard time saying that, “Well, the same guy that came out has to come out again. He can’t come out until after New Year,” etc etc. And I said, “But he didn’t do anything. I just need someone to look at this and reattach it.” He didn’t make any changes or any adjustments or anything that needed to be reevaluated or rechecked. He just plugged and unplugged it and said, “I don’t hear any gurgling noise,” and left. I didn’t like that. So I called Viking and said, “This is unacceptable. I don’t see any reason why someone can’t get out here quicker because nothing really was done.” Viking called the authorized service dealer who immediately called me back and sent someone out that same day which I very much appreciated. That was just excellent of Viking to do that.A second guy came out and it turned out that the freezer panel door was warped, and the thing at the bottom that didn’t attach correctly when the first guy came out., was damaged. All of that has been reordered and I was supposed to hear from them a week or so ago about coming out to replace those items and I haven’t. I’m still waiting to hear back from them, but their services were good and they stand behind the product.

I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. Also, I want something bigger because the one that I have is really small.

We were promised the delivery date of our Viking Range was some time at the end of June of last year. But we kept getting pushed off. We were told it would be two more weeks. It just kept going and going. Finally, we got ahold of somebody high up in Pirch who said that we might not have it until the middle of this year. We started calling around. I decided that if I couldnt have a Viking, it was okay because I just wanted an oven. I hadnt had one in almost a year. We finally found someplace in New York that had a model that we ended up purchasing. It got delivered in November of last year, five months after our original date was promised and it was dented. We got ahold of somebody. They told us that they would get a new part out to us. But we still havent gotten a new part out. Im super disappointed. It was also broken when it was delivered and it took five weeks to get it fixed. But I love cooking on it. Its amazing. Weve made some pizza dough and Ive used the proofing feature, which I didnt even know it had. That was really cool.

DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price. When you add the cost of spoiled foods, repair cost, and waiting and change of schedule for repair person to come and cost of refrigerators itself we are talking close to $20,000.00. Shame on Viking. I purchased a 48-inch built-in Viking refrigerator and I thought it was going to be nice to match the manufacturer of the refrigerator, range, and dishwasher. But ever since the Best Buy people brought the appliances, I’ve been having issues with them. Their delivery, installation, and the product itself. I don’t think that whoever delivered these products were qualified to do this job. Nothing was level and regardless if the unit itself is broken or not, they should at least try to level it. And the range was the floor model and the door was not rocking. So, the installer was telling us that it was broken. The door itself tends to get rust so I should’ve never bought the floor model. With the refrigerator, the first delivery people and the installer took about four hours to fit the door together to close it right. Two days after they left, the door was not closing. And when you open the door all the way, it made a loud metal hitting noise. I’m very dissatisfied. I went to Best Buy and they have decided to replace the refrigerator with a brand-new one and I made a return on the Viking Range floor model. I purchased the brand-new one by paying the differences and hopefully, with this replacement I don’t get any problem.

When I walked into the showroom, I saw this Viking refrigerator and I liked the look of it. Viking has a good name too. When I made the purchase, the reps I dealt with were good and helpful. Ive had my Viking refrigerator for about three weeks now and I like it overall. However, there are some things I have some issues with. The refrigerator is so-called commercial and the compressors are a little louder than I would have expected. Also, the ice bin is trash. There are major problems with it. For one, there is a lower side in the back so when the ice fills up and you pull the ice bin out, the ice falls into the track. When you try to close it, the ice gets crushed in there and you have a hard time closing it. The ice bin also leaks so it freezes over the wires that are underneath the ice bin. At some point, that is probably gonna be an issue. Another issue is the toe kick although its not a big deal. They just didnt put it on yet and I cant figure out how to do it. On the other hand, I like the pizza box holder at the bottom. And although I didnt like these at first, I now like the automatic closing doors, as well as all the meat and vegetable compartments. It is also very bright inside the refrigerator. I like the lights.

I had some Viking products before and I love their products. I got a refrigerator and its very organized, compressed and is a nice statement in the kitchen. It also seems to be energy efficient because it doesn’t run in a cycle. It runs on and off a lot versus the thing compressing the air. It also maintains the temperature very easily and its quiet. The guys who brought the ref in were extremely careful and good at moving the big and heavy product. But I was offended by my experience with their dealers. They sent out a refrigerator which was boxed and I saw the delivery guys open it in front of my house and it was damaged in the box. They brought it in and they said the damage could be easily fixed by replacing one piece. I told them it was fine, I needed the refrigerator for the holiday. But as I installed the refrigerator, I noticed one packaging slip on the side of it so I removed it and inside the slip was the receipt that a new box had been ordered for this refrigerator. The refrigerator was sold to another family in a nearby suburb and returned by that family because it was damaged. But the dealer sold it to me as a new product.I immediately called the supplier and it was like the girl had been waiting for my call. They knew exactly what was going on and they ordered me another one. The other one came and they said, “Just use this one in the meantime.” I wasn’t really out a refrigerator for a long period of time, but it was just the idea of them trying to slip this damaged one past me. I would be hesitant in purchasing a high-priced item from this company again even though Im happy with the product itself.

We purchased a full suite of Viking kitchen appliances (gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher), which were delivered on 10/1/2019. Since they were installed, all four appliances have required service. First, the insulated glass on the microwave door was not sealed properly, so condensation formed between the glass. Viking’s fix for this issue was a new door, which took over a month to get. The front panel on the dishwasher was damaged when it was installed, so it also needed to be replaced. The panel came with the microwave door about a month after it was ordered. The gas range - which is supposed to be the flagship product for Viking - also required repair. The oven would not ignite consistently and would fill my home with noxious gas that had to be aired out. (The service technician found that the ignitor was too far from the heating element, which is why the oven wouldn’t light.) There are no bells and whistles on this range, which I knew when I bought it, so one would think it would do the one thing it is capable of doing... lighting... and it couldn’t even do that without a service call. Now the refrigerator is sounding alarms randomly and indicates that our freezer is varying temperatures, as high as 55 degrees. There is no way to disable the alarm and it has taken more than a week to get a service call scheduled, which means my family has to endure this loud beeping that goes off all day and night. To make matters worse, we have a special needs child who is terrified of alarms so this has been particularly distressing to him. Due to whatever error the freezer is experiencing, the compressor runs so much that our food in the fridge is freezing. I have had to throw out a bunch of produce, like apples, pears, lettuce, etc., because of the extreme cold in the fridge. Given we have only had these appliances for two months and experienced problems with all four of them, I would say I am extremely disappointed in Viking’s quality. Their service has been terrible, too. Despite multiple attempts to contact someone at Viking who can help, we have yet to receive a call back. In the meantime, I’ve had to reach out to multiple appliance repair companies, the retailer where we purchased the appliances, and taken time off work multiple times to have the appliances serviced. Had I known how bad my experience with Viking appliances and arrive would be, I would’ve saved myself the trouble and money and purchased non-“professional” appliances!

We installed all Viking appliances when we built our home. Thinking we had made a great decision on a high end appliance line. It has been very frustrating dealing with these appliances. The dishwasher stopped working and it was more to have it fixed than to purchase a new one. The double ovens have been running 75 degrees high after a year. After many expensive service calls they still are not fixed. The double sided refrigerator has been replaced once and the current refrigerator freezes food that is in certain areas of the refrigerator as well as we cannot regulate the temperature in the freezer, causes food to thaw. We have had many expensive service calls with no success in resolving this very frustrating problem. Viking appliances are beautiful but there is obviously a serious problem with their products.

3 years ago my stove top exploded (a sealed burner unit) in my nannys face; singed her hair and eyebrows. Luckily the pot of boiling water did not go up in the air (the gas tubes held one side of the stove top in place). After repeated calls to the dealer, distributor and CEOs office I was told that since the unit was 2 months out of warranty it was not their problem. Amazing. Now I have 2 30 ovens that are about 7 y/o and they beep all day and night. However, they dont make (or repair) the electronics panel parts anymore. So again out of luck and need to pay $6,000 for the ovens to be replaced.Today I get the call that my $8,000 wine cooler, about 5 years old, needs new evaporators and it is $3 to 4,000 to repair. They were supposed to call us to let us know when they were coming but they never did so we called them and they were closed for two weeks. I had a Viking at my previous home. I just like their product and the commercial aspect of it. The first one I had was the open burner kind of thing and all steel. With the new range, I like the way it cooks and the little LED light thing thats underneath that you can actually see the knobs that illuminate it. Compared to the old range I had that had a softer side and could easily be scratched at the back, this new one has a softer cushion and it doesnt mark like the first. The only shortcoming was my experience with the Viking dealer. I like the range and if I had just gotten it from someone else, it would have been a whole lot better. Everything did not happen like it was supposed to. The salesperson neglected to schedule the installers so I had appliances sitting in my kitchen for three days uninstalled. I went to that store so many times prior to them doing the delivery because I had such a bad feeling it wasn’t going to go right and I was right. I built a new home about a year ago. I decided to stick my kitchen with what I thought was high quality appliances. I spent over $25000 on a Viking professional kitchen. Been having issues from day one. First, my 48 fridge freezes anything on the top self. After multiple service calls the tech admitted this was an unrepairable design defect. Today my fridge stopped cooling, nice for a $12k appliance. Also, the fridge door squeaks and is out of alignment just from ordinary use. Second, my oven broke the first time I used it. Took about a month to get it fixed, the first time. Couple of months later it broke again, took weeks to fix this time, same defect. Also, the oven has an annoying function that keeps a loud fan running in it to cool it down after each use, takes about 30 minutes each time. So imagine sitting in your open kitchen, serving a freshly baked dinner, then having to listen to something so loud that you feel you have to speak over it. Poor mechanical design and poor quality, wish I could return them.

Ive been having some issues with the oven specifically and the griddle not working. Theyve sent some technicians multiple times who tried to fix it but its still not working. Im trying out to see about getting a replacement or refund since it’s been over four times now. Theyre easy to contact so Ill give them a 10 or an A+ for that but the follow up is lacking. Im having to follow up with them as to whats going. Ive recently had to request an escalation to try to get information because they dont have much to go by based off of what theyre waiting on with their contracted vendor.
