Our Viking fridge/freezer came with the house as new 10 yrs ago. Weve already had an issue with the ice machine but wrote that off to a clumsy appliance repair man. About a month ago we noticed the high temp alarm go off and the appliance stopped cooling. We called out Viking approved technician and he diagnosed the control boards, which I paid 1k to have replaced. Three days later, the alarm goes off again and everything starts to defrost. The technician is unsure what the problem is but suspects a sealed system issue (another 1k). I am fuming about, what is a highly priced fridge freezer needing all this work at only 10 years old.

Before, I was so excited to have Viking. Ive known the brand for a long time and they are well-known. Also, the builder of the house we had built wanted to put in Viking appliances, so we agreed to it. But every single one of the Viking appliances is just okay, if not less than okay, which is a bummer. Ive had issues with the very top shelf of our Viking Refrigerator. It freezes food because thats where the air comes in from the freezer and you have to be careful on that shelf because the food will get frozen. That has never happened in any of the other refrigerators we’ve had and we’ve owned 40 refrigerators because we move a lot and we’ve owned a lot of homes. I’m also not happy with the design of the ice machine in the bottom. The sensor bar doesn’t sense the ice very well, so it gets full. When you open it, it knocks the ice off into the back of the refrigerator so you have to patter around there like a kitten trying to get back the ice cubes out after they’ve fallen. I shouldn’t have to do that and its a silly feature. All in all, the Viking refrigerator is not so great and not worth the money.

We worked with the person that our builder referred and he was really nice and helped us out. We purchased the Viking refrigerator as we like its look. We then picked out other Viking products to go with it. However, the refrigerator has leaking problems and I’ve been waiting for about two weeks now to get any sort of service from Viking. It’s been really awful. They only have one person in the Des Moines area who services the product, and when the rep called to set something up, she was really rude and refused to service my refrigerator. So now, it’s supposed to be with the regional manager and I keep calling back every day and nobody calls me back. Its a very poor, runty service with Viking.

The Viking refrigerator has good storage capacity. The illumination is good and I have an ice maker hooked up on. Its quiet. However, Ive had two power failures and the refrigerator defaulted. The question I was trying to get with engineers is if it defaults, does that mean that it quits cooling? But I never got an engineer to answer me any questions and a sales rep didnt even know.

Viking Model VCBB536ELSS has been a nightmare. This is an $8,000 refrigerator. Constant ice buildup. Finally, it died completely after many visits from repairman trying to thaw the back of the unit out and replacing motors. Viking agreed to replace for free. They even extended the warranty for me because it was 8 months of dealing with this nightmare. I have had the new one since November 2020 and the SAME THING IS HAPPENING again!! I cannot stress enough what a pain and expense with wasted food this has been.

Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

We wanted a Viking Refrigerator, design and character-wise for the house. As of now, the refrigerator portion is working. The freezer is intermittent and the icemaker does not work at all. It was a brand-new fridge that stopped working after a couple of weeks. Weve contacted them and they scheduled a third-party to come. We had to wait a couple of weeks before they were able to come out and look at it. The guy comes out and confirms that the fridge doesnt work. He wasnt sure what was wrong and had to order some parts. Weeks and weeks and weeks went by and they are still not scheduled to come back to install what they ordered. Plus, the dealer was horrible.

My son and my daughter used to rent places with Viking appliances and they loved it. They suggested it to me and we went with it because of the reputation and the good quality product. I purchased the refrigerator from the local appliances store and it was wonderful because we had done the research. We came up with what we wanted and looked up who could order it for us. Then we went to the store where they recommended online from Viking and we ordered that. So it was good. I like the look of the refrigerator and how all the buttons are inside. Theyre not visible. Weve installed everything according to the instructions but the ice is not working. So the dealer who sold us the refrigerator is coming to see what’s going on. Hopefully, they will fix it. But other than that, there has been no problem and overall, the experience has been excellent.

I had a Viking Refrigerator in my last house and I liked it. it’s great! The only thing is at my old house, the drain at the bottom plugged real easy but you can’t really move it in and out because it’s built in, so that was a little bit of a drawback. It’s expensive to get that repaired when it plugs so I finally learned how to do it myself. I put towels all over the place but it freezes up. I got a good deal on floor model for my new house. I got the whole suite of products. Its one of the nicest fridges Ive ever had and Im really happy with it.

I had a Viking refrigerator in my first house and then I got a new one now. It looks magnificent but I cant tell if the quality is better. My last refrigerator did not break twice but the new one did. The freezer and the refrigerator doors should stop at about 100 degrees and both of them broke, which happened twice. The parts werent in stock and it could take 2 weeks to get them. And now, its already been six weeks to get it fixed and Im still waiting for it to get repaired.

Side by Side Refrigerator/Freezer Model FOSB 5422D - Beautiful built-in refrigerator freezer with ice dispenser in door. VERY expensive. Major design problem with icemaker. The basket holding ice has a metal part that connects with a plastic part to propel the ice into the dispenser. The metal part quickly destroys the plastic part, rendering the ice dispenser useless. All this within the first four months of use. The replacement ice basket has been on back-order for seven weeks. If and when it is replaced, I have no reason to believe the new part will enjoy a greater life expectancy unless Viking changed the design. If you intend to dispense ice from your freezer, be very wary of buying this model.

I bought a $12,000 built-in Viking fridge from an online store (AJ Madison). It was discounted. It was supposed to have a scratch on the side, but it had a dent in the front. I bought an extended warranty. I bought it for a home in Florida that I rent out weekly. I vacation down there a few times a year. The first time I went down there, I noticed that the fridge temperature would spike up to 61 degrees. This was May of 2021. I called Viking and they sent a repairman out (Mr. Appliance). He said it was working perfectly. Then the renters started demanding money back for food that spoiled. Mr. Appliance came out again and said it was working perfectly. I went down there again, and the temperature would go up to 61 degrees and the food would spoil. At this point Viking told me they had to send a repairman out 3 times to deem it unrepairable. Mr. Appliance came out a third time and again said it was working perfectly. Now Viking said they would not take care of it, because I “accepted a broken refrigerator.“ Mr. Appliance came out again, put in a probe that showed that the temp went up to 61 degrees for 4 hours. He actually interpreted this as working perfectly. Viking got the temperature graph showing sustained temperatures at 61 degrees for 4 hours and claimed it was working fine. Viking refused to deem the refrigerator unrepairable. I got nowhere with Mr. Appliance, Viking or with the extended warranty people (New Leaf). Nine months later, I finally bought a working refrigerator from Home Depot. Nine months later, AJ Madison says they will give me a refund if Viking deems it unrepairable, which they will not. I am negotiating for a partial refund with AJ Madison now with new difficulties.

We just finished remodeling our kitchen and we were looking at refrigerators. We happened to come across Viking in an appliance store. We purchased our other appliances through a distributor in Portland, and the dealer didnt happen to carry that particular refrigerator. But when we asked if they could get it, they said yes, and thats how we did it.We wanted some simplification. We liked the handles that were on the refrigerator and the way it was constructed on the inside as it looked well-finished. We also like the fact that the doors were not so thick as the other refrigerators we were looking at. It was that or the KitchenAid. The first refrigerator that they installed did not work. It wouldnt cool. They brought a service person out to look at it, but he couldnt figure out what was going on, so they got us another one. That was okay with us, though, because we happened to be gone for vacation that week, and the person who was installing the refrigerator took care of it and it worked out. At this point, were very satisfied with our Viking refrigerator.

Our refrigerator is very convenient, large, and has good quality. The only thing I dont like about it is that adjusting the temperature, which is two little controls up on the top, is not very clear and it doesnt read out the exact temperature, just has these little bars. So, it takes a lot of time to figure out how to use it, how to set it, and get it to the right temperatures. At the very bottom, it freezes up and the water gets into the drain in the back on the bottom and we once had to thaw it out ourselves. Another time, we had to call a repair person cause there was no way for us to do it. If only they have as many other refrigerators have where you set the temperature and it shows you what its set for and what its actually reading, and I would make sure that they have improved the heating unit that would prevent the drain in the freezer from freezing.

I have some problems with the Viking Refrigerator that we got. The unit functions well, but I have problems in the way it is laid out. It seemed very stripped down. The crisper drawer is not divided, it is just one big drawer that is supposed to hold both fruit and vegetables. That was surprising. Fruits and vegetables require different temperatures and different humidities. There wasn’t any delicatessen or cheese drawer too. The fridge is also very high so that the taller shelves were not accessible. I called Viking to find out how I could better accessorize the refrigerator, and there didnt seem to be any answer to that and apparently, for this model, there are no Viking accessories available.

We moved into a house that had a Viking refrigerator and weve been using it since then. The quality of the ref is okay and I liked the inside of it. I know really good things about Viking and I have a positive association with them. But when some of the handles on the refrigerator door kept coming loose, I was disappointed because I had the expectation that their products were so high in quality. Other than that, however, I like the Viking ref. The ref door just needs to be tightened with an Allen wrench, but its annoying to have to keep doing that. But I would have never bought a Viking refrigerator. It’s not where I think their strength is. They didnt install the fan. We had a water problem on our floor and we had to get the guy out. Ive never had a refrigerator drip water before and these are hardwood floors. They got somebody out there but the tech service guys were very confused with it. The first one didnt know quite how to fix it. It left the factory without the fan hooked up on the bottom. Every part has been replaced and it is still dying. Its a beautiful unit but its completely unreliable. Viking has no idea how to make refrigerators. We thought we would give them a second chance and replaced the first one with another thinking that all the bugs Viking had were worked out. The Viking Refrigerator that I got is great. Its everything I thought it would be. I like the bright lights, being able to change the configuration that it has. I like the more solid material. There is one thing I wish they did have that is not there, and thats a filter for the water that goes to the ice. Cause typically the water connections are behind it, and since this is built-in, its not like a regular fridge where you can pull it out and then change the filter. I had to run a line from my reverse osmosis system to go to the back, even though theres a water connection with the spigot built into my house behind it. But everything else has been great. I’ve known about Viking Refrigerators for years and I purchased from them because of the warranty. I’m happy overall with the fridge, but I expected a little better quality of the drawer pull-outs and the freezer. They’re kind of flimsy. Also, during the purchasing process, I had a horrible experience as it took forever to get the fridge purchased. It was not a streamlined process. And when we were having this horrendous noise, we ended up having to go back to the store two or three times before they would finally send somebody out. It turned out that their delivery people left a big cardboard in the back which was causing the problems. All we had to do was remove it. I also wish the fridge had a water dispenser.

I also had a LG refrigerator that was a lemon and it stopped working after about a year and a half, and the dealer was really difficult to work with. But every call that I made to Viking so far has been answered right away and they’ve been very helpful. I understood that because of COVID, the fridge took a very long time to arrive at our house. But from day one, the fridge never even worked. I contacted Appliances Connection and never heard an answer back. So I went through a technician who referred me to the Viking warranty technician in town. He came out and told me that the Viking fridge that I purchased had a manufacture date of somewhere in 2018. This was the fall of 2020 when I got the fridge. He also said that there was damage on the inside of it. He has replaced it and the fridge has been working fine since. But for about 90 days, I had a refrigerator in my kitchen that wouldnt get cold.I never got in touch with Appliances Connection ever. I had to go out on my own to find out who was the Viking warranty technician in town and that process was very pleasurable. Once I got hold of Viking Corporate, they resolved the issue very easily. I purchased a Viking refrigerator on a scratch and dent auction at a pretty good deal. They did not promise any warranty and I’m in Iowa so there are no resources for people to look at it. The refrigerator performs very well and it keeps everything cold. However, I dislike that it is very difficult to move around as it is 48-inch wide. We installed it ourselves and it was difficult to do it. It was a big process but we are happy now that it is in. Viking is still based in the United States so, there is very much of the hometown feel connection and I’m still working with someone local. Also, they have invested in hiring people and they are paying Americans to do a job. I appreciated that and it makes me feel like Im coming home when Im talking to them. When I called to follow up and ask questions about the cabinet being built, the technical support was very good. But the person at the parts department was not. Ive worked with him a few different times and he didn’t have technical knowledge of his job. He was very demeaning too. When we were talking about parts I needed to order, I got transferred back to technical then back. I got transferred back again when the numbers were not right. If they could combine their knowledge of the technical with the parts department, it would create a much better and efficient process.

I looked online for reviews and did more of my research outside of the dealer store. The refrigerator that I got from Viking is good. I like it a lot, especially the lighting. However, there are two things that I dont like about it. One is that I wish I had filtered water. The second one is that when you use the ice tray in the automatic ice feature, the little bars that measure whether its full or not usually catch the ice, and then the ice falls back into the freezer and you cant shut the freezer. So then you have to fish up some of the ice. But its hard to get back there because you have to get down on your hands and knees and slide the big tray out. Otherwise, the ref is working well.

We own a built-in Viking refrigerator that was manufactured in 2013. Over the past year, its plastic bins have started to disintegrate spontaneously. Nothing was abused or overstuffed. So far the following have fallen apart: (1) The pull for the ice drawer. (2) Three bins in the refrigerator door. (3) All bins in the freezer door, although two have lost pieces but the damaged bins havent yet fallen out. (4) The clear front of the deli drawer has cracked. (5) The clear top of the chiller drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator has fallen off.Obviously without the bins the refrigerator is nearly useless, unless one uses only its floor, and the wire shelves in the freezer which appear to have survived. Viking quoted a replacement cost for all these plastic items that would run more than $2000. To put this in perspective, a month ago I paid $650 for the 21 cu-ft GE refrigerator in my garage. I had to buy it partly because the Viking could hold less and less.We called Viking and were told that the refrigerator is out of warranty. When I asked the rep if he had ever heard of all the plastic disintegrating 6-7 years into the life of the unit, he said he had. When I asked if this was typical, he said it wasnt. When I suggested that our unit may have been manufactured with a bad batch of plastic and that Viking should take some responsibility to replace it, he said that they will not.In the past I have used a Kitchenaid built-in, GE, Whirlpool, Amana. In the early years I even bought used refrigerators from previous homeowners or used old ones in rental houses. Never have I seen bins crack and disintegrate as if this were timed to bring in another injection of revenue to Viking 6 to 7 years after the sale. Viking is not a low-cost brand that is trimming pennies on their product to lower the sale price; they position themselves as a high-end luxury brand. Whatever happened to reliability, durability, and pride in the brand?

We purchased a very expensive Viking refrigerator from Best Buy a couple years ago. Within just a few months, all of the adjustable shelves in the door started to break. The shelves are a combination of metal and brittle plastic. Once the plastic shatters, they are unrepairable. The replacement of the shelves is NOT covered by the warranty. We went ahead and overpaid for two replacements from Viking, which then proceeded to break as well. We are down to one shelf in the door which will not likely last much longer.

We owned a Viking in our previous home, and we are familiar with appliances, so we wanted to have a Viking suite in our new kitchen. We were the happiest with the double oven in our previous place. We had a different model, and the convection ovens were great. So that was our starting appliance, and then we just said that we’ll go with Viking. We thought about Sub-Zero and Wolf but we decided to go with Viking again. We like the size and the look of the refrigerator. In terms performance, everything is fine for now. I’m happy with the way it’s performing. I like the feature that you can control temperature in different compartments in the refrigerator, and there’s ample space in the freezer. The whole suite is the reason that we wanted to incorporate the refrigerator as well. But I would go with a different dealer next time.

I was looking at the Viking refrigerator and it was fit for what I wanted it for. It was also better priced than most of the other commercial units, so I decided to purchase it. I have it in my home for a year in May now and its a good refrigerator. But I had problems with it and I had technicians out here at least four times to work on it.I had a tech out twice for the icemaker when it wasnt working. Something had burned out in there so they had to come and replace that. From what I could tell, these repairmen were not familiar with these products, so they were not too sure. They were constantly making phone calls asking someone else how to do things but most of all, it was like some of these things were failing inside of the refrigerator. I also had a problem with the water dispenser. The rubber over it was broken and Viking shipped one part out. Then the repairman was out for that but it still didn’t work properly. So now, I’ve been waiting for this thing to be fixed and it has been three months. Aside from that, the BlueZone bulb burned out when it should not be going out after only seven months. I didn’t even have the refrigerator for a year. So, I had to buy another bulb which was a hundred bucks. Then, the refrigerator kept beeping after I replaced the BlueZone bulb, so I had to call somebody to come out to turn off this annoying beep. It was weird. All in all, Viking hasnt fine-tuned some of the little things on their product and everything there needs to be looked at. Even the replacement parts werent fitting and I don’t understand it. It’s also a little disappointing. I haven’t even paid the thing off and I’ve had the service guy five times out. They need to care more about customer service, too. The refrigerator is under a three-year manufacturer’s warranty but they wouldn’t replace the bulb. First, they told me that they didn’t have the bulb. So, I got the bulb at no cost. Then I didn’t hear anything, so I followed up with them and they said that I had to go back to my dealer, buy the bulb from them, and let them come and install it. Not only that, when I called Viking, they didn’t have the bulb in stock and I had to wait four months for someone to get this stupid bulb in stock. But Viking sells an $11,000 refrigerator, so they gotta have the replacement parts.

We ordered the Viking Refrigerator and were very happy with it. We got it from the Ferguson in Sarasota. The salesman knew what he was selling. I wasnt over-the-top with him but he was okay. What was a little unusual was that they didnt have the stuff in-stock and we had to wait for production and delivery for about a month. The installation was rather annoying too. The guys that delivered it werent plumbers, so they took out our existing refrigerator, put it in the garage where we wanted it, and left the Viking out in the garage as well because they couldnt install the water element. They had to send somebody back the next day and we were inconvenienced by that. On the other hand, the quality of the refrigeration we received from the Viking seems excellent, so far. Also, I like the looks, the heavy door, the lighting, the way its organized, and the freezing compartment because of the French door. Wed recommend it to a friend.

My wife decided to purchase a Viking refrigerator because she likes high-end stuff. The units refrigeration is fine, but I’m a little disappointed that we had to request a replacement for some of the drawers because they were cracked. The drawers seemed to get damaged very easily because of a quality issue. When they sent us the first replacement, there was a problem. So, we had to request another one. Nevertheless, there was no difficulty getting ahold of the Viking contact. We are also disappointed that we cannot retrieve ice or water from the door or water, and that the door is squeaking. Overall, Im not sure if the amount of money we spent is even the value. I could’ve done fine with a Kenmore.

I have had several issues for the last 3 years with my Viking fridge icing up. It will either ice up at the top or the bottom. On two different occasions it stopped cooling and I lost all of my food. My warranty company has finally after doing repairs since August 2016 deemed it not repairable. You would think if you spend over 8k on a fridge you would get more than 10 years out of it. Now I am stuck trying to find a match that isnt a Viking fridge that looks similar to my 30 inch build in Viking freezer. I will never buy a Viking appliance again.

So, I called in the place where we purchased it and then they said we still had a warranty for the refrigerator itself for Viking. So then I called them and put in a claim. I turned out that the latch from underneath the door was broken. We waited two weeks for the parts to be delivered. It also seemed that the doors were not levelled. The freezer was fine but the refrigerator was a bit lower than the freezer. But thats fixed now and its working fine. I love that we have more room to place everything in.

I built a new kitchen in 2012. We splurged on a Viking fridge and have had trouble from day 1. The freezer broke every year, the defrost function in the freezer didnt work correctly, so the freezer would turn off and melted water would flow out. We finally had to get an upgraded compressor because the one in the fridge wasnt big enough. Big money. This year, the cooling fan stopped working in fridge. This was 3 weeks ago. My appliance repair contractors spent a week trying to contact service. Finally they sent a part, 3 days later… So now I face the 4th of July summer holiday, no fridge. I feel like I should order multiples of the 4 fan I need, fully expecting this will happen again. Viking, good name, bad product.

I wanted the French doors on top and the drawer at the bottom. That month, Viking came out with a new model but it did not have the water dispenser either inside or on the door and that was something I was looking for because everywhere that I did research on, the word was that there was a glitch with every refrigerator that has either a water dispenser inside or outside and you always have to buy the filter. I thought that was a hassle so I was pleased that Viking came out with a model that didnt have that. It was also a good made on their part because the one they had before the new model had an internal water dispenser and I dont drink cold water. I like either tepid or hot water so this refrigerator was made for my needs. It was perfect. But the crisper drawers would ice up and there would be big chunks of ice there. They wouldnt thaw out so I would have to go at it with an ice pick. Viking brought a technician over to try and fix it but he said he couldnt do a fix. He said the refrigerator was a lemon. He worked on other refrigerators of Viking and they were fine. Mine was the only model where the defrost wasnt working. But they couldnt repair it so they swapped it out with a new refrigerator. And I love the meat drawer of the new refrigerator. It keeps the meats colder so that it lasts a little longer. If I dont use the meat thats in there for three days, it would still be okay. I also like the freezer drawer. The fridge I had before I remodeled my kitchen was a side by side door. By then side by side refrigerators were not that well made because all the refrigerator manufacturers were moving toward the French doors with the drawer freezer. Some people say that one of the problems is when you have the drawer that pulls out, youre always fishing for space. But I find that I didnt have to do that because within the freezer, theres two pull out and one at the bottom. I can always see whats there which is nice. And then all of the freezer baskets that pull out, theyre all wire baskets and not solid panels so the frozen food gets frozen hard.I also like the fact that the lighting is in the front. In the Hotpoint refrigerator we had before we remodeled, the light is in the back of the refrigerator. So if I have any item thats tall enough, itll block the lights and I dont get the light in the front. But with Viking, they put the light in the front and the lighting is good. I can see everything so Im impressed with that, too. So overall, I like the layout and the one that I bought was counter depth which is nice too. The Hotpoint refrigerator that we had stuck way out in front of the cabinet so everyone is always bumping into it. So now being counter depth, theres enough room in the inside, too. Its a little bigger than my Hotpoint but efficiency-wise, its all around so much better. The delivery person had to deliver and install it and he was very conscientious about not marring the parquet hardwood floors and all of the other stuff. They made sure before he left that everything was up and running very well. I was impressed with the installer they hired as well. They didnt cut corner on service and didnt corner on the refrigerator which is nice. But Im most impressed with the Viking service. Usually, companies dont replace defective products. They keep sending a technician once a month to try to mess with it. Viking couldnt repair the fridge so they swapped it out with a new refrigerator and Im pleased with the decision. I never had that before so that was quite a statement as to how well Viking stand behind their product.

Since day one, I have had problems with both units. Refrigerator back wall freezes up and is leaking water. My shelves are constantly filled with water. The door squeaks like its 100 years old! And all the shelve clips came in broken! I had the unit serviced many times until PC Richards said theyd get me new units. The freezer is a big problem too. Ice maker works when it wants to! For a while, I was buying ice because it wasnt making ice! Its been 7 months and Im still dealing with these defective units! I had a subzero unit and never had a day of problems, but because of my size issue (we changed the configuration of my kitchen), Viking seemed to be the best fit! Boy was I wrong!!!! NEVER buy VIKING products...... Might I add PC Richards customer service is terrible too! They do not stand behind their customers. Getting a big run around from them too! To date, still waiting for the swap. Its only been 10 months since I had them installed and when the problems started!

But when I turn the unit on and I turn it off, turn it off and turn it on again, the noise stops. Then, a guy came to look at the unit and it wasnt making weird noises. It has made it once since then and I just turn it off and I turn it back on and it runs again. Also, my unit alerted me that it needs a new air filter but I cant find where it is in the unit! Its also tough to get water filters. I prefer Sub-Zero but theyre like monsters and you have to have a different house for them. I love Vikings refrigerators. I like how they look, the clean lines, the straight edges, and their sturdiness. We re-did our kitchen and we wanted nice appliances. I bought my Viking Refrigerator through an appliance place in Silver Spring. I researched online and I know its a high-end appliance. I also found the spec sheet and the warranty online. I bought Viking because of the name and the quality, but now, our refrigerator is a little over a year old and the icemaker broke. I have given to my daughter the cheapo refrigerator I took out of my kitchen when I bought the Viking refrigerator and that works fine. We already spent over $3000 on our Viking refrigerator and it should last longer than a little over a year. I like the refrigerator a lot with its space and the way its laid out, but I need ice and Ive been buying ice now for a couple of months. Ive owned a lot of refrigerators in my lifetime and Ive never had an icemaker go bad. Viking answered my phone calls but they were adamant. I have my own business and I dont treat my customers that way. When there is a problem, I take care of it. I was under the impression that I had a two-year warranty but Viking changes their warranty whenever they feel like it. The Viking rep told me that I should have looked at the floor model at the place where I bought it and reviewed the warranty there, but they didnt even have a floor model there. Since Im very persistent and I didnt give up, they finally agreed to supply the part after multiple phone calls. Then theyre supposed to send the part but they didnt and its another week I have to wait now. Im very disappointed for the amount of money I paid for this refrigerator. The cost to have the icemaker fixed, with the labor and everything, was $650 and that is a lot of money! I thought about getting a whole new refrigerator but they decided to replace it. So, hopefully, the new one wont go bad.

I was all the way around looking at different places and I ended up buying the Viking fridge through the kitchen design place that I used. One thing that was attractive was the breakdown in price when I bought four appliances. I like the quality of the Viking fridge. It does the job well and I like the design. However, when the ice maker is in ice making mode, the arm is down and the drawer is full, then I open the drawer, a whole bunch of ice gets pushed out to the back and on to the floor. When I slide out the drawer, the arm takes some ice cube with it. Theres gotta be something that wasnt done quite the way it should be because I always have to put the ice maker arm up when I can see its getting full. Its not really engineered very well there and I wish that was a little different. But I like the way it looks and the way it feels sturdy when I use it.

The Viking is the first built-in refrigerator I have ever had. I am very happy with the way the interior is designed. Everything functions well in the refrigerator portion. I do however find it is a bit difficult to take apart and clean. The exterior door does not open wide enough to remove the bins and shelves easily. It is hard to maneuver. I am also happy having the freezer on the bottom. It makes it very easy to use.I have had no problems with the refrigerator however I had a very severe problem with the freezer. For some reason the small drain where the defrost water cycles got clogged up. This I think is quite difficult to do as it is behind a whole plastic wall. But it happened and the freezer froze full of ice and the door would not open. It was a total mess. The service man who repaired the freezer said that the Viking factory does not install a small part in the drains that would have alleviated this problem because of the fact that then the refrigerator would no longer have the economy rating it has. I do not know if this is a true statement or not but it was what I was told. I want to say that fortunately this occurred three days before the three-year warranty expired as it was an extremely expensive repair.

There was a technical issue with our Viking that led to it being replaced. It was an older model that had a very unfortunate habit of freezing over the freezer at the bottom. The customer service was quite good. My wife contacted a US service representative who referred us to a local repair person who came to our house and assessed the issue. Being that this was something that was recognized as Viking and something that warranted a replacement, he reached out to a Canadian representative who emailed us and spoke to my wife. We then signed a contract and an NDA and they replaced the refrigerator. So far, the freezing at the bottom hasnt happened with the new unit. It functions well.

I went to Best Buy to look at them, but I ordered these online, and I never really tested them out. I like certain things that I bought, but there were certain things I don’t like. I like the refrigerator because it’s large. But I’ve seen others that the inside interiors are better made, more stylish, and the placement of the shelves are a lot more intuitive than the Viking. The doors and the bins are fine. It’s just the placement of them is not as functional as we thought it would be. We like the soft-close doors but we didn’t expect it to be so small inside being a 48-inch. We thought it’d be a lot larger because we had other appliances like LG or Samsung, and those were standard-sized, and they seemed to have more space. I like the Viking because of the aesthetics. It’s a beautiful refrigerator. But in terms of functionality, it’s just plain-Jane. It’s a $10,000 fridge so I was expecting more. It’s a 48-inch refrigerator, and its freezer is tiny, unfortunately.

I would call back and they would not have any records of the repairs. The freezer door wont close completely leaving ice build up on the inside. Their solution is to push at the top of the door. The hinge is leaning. Their solution... There is no fix, we cant make that hinge any longer. The refridge is freezing things so had another company come out. They said needed some new compressor. Took everything apart (six months later after they got the parts) and turns out the leak is in the wall of the unit, so it is not repairable. Have to pay 3000 to get a new unit. Every time I open the drawer, theres too much ice in the ice bin and it would spill out all over the floor. Viking is saying that it’s the design flaw and they wont send anybody out to look at it. Im not happy about it at all. I’ve had it for a year now and it was still under the warranty period although it has since expired. We designed the whole cabinetry around the fridge and I don’t wanna just swap it out. That would not be a great result but I am worried. Otherwise, it’s a good fridge and I like it. It has a nice base and it does what it supposed to do. It looks good and it works. There’s a special temperature drawer in the bottom, which is kinda cool, but it’s nothing I really use.

Ive always heard Viking was the best and Im happy with my Viking fridge. But Ive had to have it serviced a few times already. The fans inside keep freezing up. Ive had to have all the warranty work done twice already and I don’t even think Ive been in this house three years yet. The first time they came out, they had to replace the fans and the second time, all of them were frozen up. But the tech was able to service the fans and got it working again. Im also happy with the customer service that the guy that I bought the appliances from is giving me. He puts me right on top of the list, takes care of me and keeps me up and running again. It is a little bit of a disappointment. I paid almost $18,000 but the guys from Certified Appliance were good.

I have had my Viking 2 door refrigerator since 2001, I love it! I say that, but it has been leaking since day 1. I have had more repair people out to my house than I care to admit, because tempory fixes are still cheaper than a new one. My issue? Water leaking from under the refrigerator, it has been happening off and on since 2001. And today, 6/8/2018, there is so much water on the floor of my kitchen I had to leave the house today (for work) with a ton of towels on the ground and I am working to get someone to come out to my house (AGAIN) to try and fix it. My other concern is even attempting to try and find a fridge large enough to fit into the spot that the Viking fridge is in (if I attempted to replace it). Sad, but still LOVE my Viking (I know, I am crazy).

The builder of our home referred us to an appliance place and we ended up with a Viking refrigerator because of the style. We also like the freezer at the bottom. Its three years old now. However, the ice makers broken which is not great. We called and were working on the repair but its taken several weeks.

Not cooling motherboard 2013 - $470.35; Stopped working 2013 - $105.00; Currently, will not defrost. We have been without freezer a total of eleven weeks since purchase. We were without refrigerator and freezer for over six weeks in 2013. This is an inferior product and should have been replaced.

Were really not happy with our Viking fridge. We like that it keeps things cold, but its loud. The plastic on the doors has cracked. We called in the warranty, and they covered it. Right now, the thermostats not accurate. We had to have someone come in and clean the kitchen because it smoked all over the place. Its very poor quality control. It was very expensive and does not meet expectations.

My refrigerator freezer was delivered defective. I just got a replacement but I am still waiting on parts for it to be adjusted by the repair guy. I had to argue with people at Viking for two to three months for me to say Im not taking this refrigerator because its cracked in one of inside framing. The local, regional manager wanted me to caulk it to fix the whole thing. But I said, Look, I paid $14000 for this freezer refrigerator. Im not doing that. After three months of just saying no, Im thankful that I finally got it. Its been frustrating and I hope I can get my part and stuff soon.

I was looking at the features, design, haptic feedback, meaning how things slide, the soft close of the drawers, and layout. One of the things that I didnt consider was Viking because Viking and Thermador are usually premium, luxury, and mansion-type brands, until seeing at that price point-wise. They make for the regular persons reasonably-priced refrigerators. We didnt need a water dispenser in the front or ice sensor and they were one of the few manufacturers that didnt have that. I just dont like the gasket sealant. Im getting some frost where the gasket is peeling off the door. I havent had the opportunity to call Viking yet to ask them if they can fix it.

When we bought this condo, an LLC came in and we completely remodeled it. We had an appliance package that everything in the kitchen is Viking. However, Ive been a little disappointed with some of the Viking products because I know it has got such a good reputation. The Viking refrigerator seems to be building up the ice cubes like you got a pull-out drawer. I really like the style of the double doors on top with the freezer at the bottom, but when I open the door for the freezer all the ice falls out the back of the tray. It was a brand-new kitchen when we got the condo and there was all this frost buildup. Evidently, somebody hadn’t put the shelves in right, so it pushed the door out a little bit. I had a Viking repairman come in and he fixed that and he said a lot of people had this complaint as the tray isn’t tall enough at the back of it. I guess Viking has done something to order a higher back on the ice tray to hold the ice cubes in. He said he ordered it. I had spoken to somebody at Viking and it seemed that the people that remodeled did not register any of the products. I had to get online as well as on the phone to register the products and that was a challenge as well. Im pretty efficient on the product code, yet it took about three days to get all the products registered through the website and for customer service to call me back and tell me, “Don’t put that number in. Leave that letter off.“ Viking customer service and repair was excellent. The customer service was very helpful getting back to me, double checking and calling me back. They were prompt and they were fine. It was just so odd about this logging in the product serial number and stuff and then not having to go through. The refrigerator was just good to average and I really like the bottom freezer. The refrigerator has a feature that has chilled water on it, but that’s something that I had no choice because the refrigerator came with it. Also, the refrigerator doors are not quite sturdy. It seems like when I open the double doors, everything seems to rattle and move around. But Ive never had a double door before since Ive had a KitchenAid with a bottom freezer and a big single door. So, maybe its just the nature of having the double refrigerator doors.

We heard good things about Viking. They have good refrigerators and good warranties on them, and we thought it would be good to have one of their refrigerators. The quality is great. It’s got the bottom refrigerator on it. We like the bottom freezer and the French door top-to-bottom. It has the water on the inside. We’ve only had one problem with the fridge though. The compressor went out. It would run but it quit cooling. A man came up, checked it and ordered the compressor. It was covered, and it only cost us $149. He put it back together and within three hours, it was cooling again. Id definitely tell others that they wont find much better than Viking Refrigerators.

The door doesnt close and they haven’t fixed it yet since I bought it. They came out and looked at it and they said they had to order parts, and they said they’ll get back to me in a week or two. I was on hold for over six hours one day, trying to get a hold of them. Once we got through, there were a lot of problems. When we went to shop for appliances, the first time we saw the model from Viking Refrigeration I had already considered it. I did some research. It is supposed to be a quality name and it was a model that was on sale. It was affordable and would do a good job for us. The refrigeration is fine. The retractable filter is what I like best. But then I was a little surprised that we would have problems with the water dispenser and with the tube in the back of the ice maker so soon after we bought and installed it. Fortunately, we had to have it replaced under warranty. Overall, weve been very happy with Viking.

The first Viking refrigerator that was delivered off of the truck was dirty. The seams were split and the logo on the front was crooked. The truck people looked it over after taking the plastic off and put it right back on the truck. They rejected it before I did. It was 10 days until I got a new one and the second one has been good so far. We like it but I have one minor complaint. I have to turn off the ice maker because if I let it fill completely, opening the freezer drawer will knock a bunch of ice on the floor. I dont use that much ice and the ice tray is oversized anyway. Other than that, my Viking is high quality and it works well.

I bought a new home and the Viking refrigerator and the freezer were purchased by my builder through a supplier. I like the space because its a full-size refrigerator and I have great lights on the side of the inside of it and along the top, so its easy to see things. The fridge looks nice but Ive had some issues with it. It was making a terrible noise and then it went away. I didnt get around calling the repair people. Also, I was working and while I was away on vacation and my daughters were home this summer, the refrigerator lost cooling. So, the repair people came and they had to replace the circuit board which was odd. Prior to that, we had some drips in the back of it and then it went away and now its back so I have to call someone again. Its an expensive refrigerator and Im disappointed in its performance when it has, supposedly, had a good name and many years behind it. It has failed a couple of times and its only a year old.

The refrigerator (DFRB304L) was leaving a puddle on the floor in front. The repairman was clueless. Luckily, my son is an engineer and he took all the shelves out and took the inside back off in order to find the poorly engineered problem and caulk it. His repair worked. Also, the clear parts of the drawers all cracked. This is obviously a quality control problem, but when I contacted them, their response was that the refrigerator was out of warranty. At that time, it was only just. I really thought that a company like that would stand behind its products, but my eyes have been opened! They clearly dont care if you never buy another appliance from them.

My experience with the refrigerator purchased from Viking has been a huge disappointment. Since my purchase I have had over 15 service calls on my frig. Although Ive contacted Viking to express my frustration, the best I get from their service department---- is well nothing! Since my warranty has expired they no longer care that the product is defective. I wanted to send the service records to show that we have had problems day one but they refused. You would think that an 8,000 dollar refrigerator would have been built better---not the case. I will never buy another Viking product!

BUYER BEWARE. They will NEVER replace a product that is brand new and doesnt work, they WILL keep sending repair people and order parts. Fact: Bought a new Viking refrigerator/freezer. Fact: Doors are cracked and freezer doesnt work, refrigerator freezing everything. Fact: Notified retailer, they sent two repair people to appraise, both said it should be replaced. Fact: Third repairperson finally told us what Viking wanted to say, which was it can be fixed if we replace the doors and thermostats.Vikings policy is they will NOT take back, even a brand new appliance, if they can replace all of the parts. Problem, parts have been on backorder so we have no freezer for 2 months and our refrigerator freezes our food. Viking did offer us $400 to buy another refrigerator until the parts finally come in. Where are we to put this, and where can I get one for $400 with installation? I have begged, literally, for them to replace it... I didnt ask for our money back, just replace with a quality item... They refused. I was better off with my other brands that were less money. I will NEVER EVER tell anyone to buy Viking. Honestly, it is a horrible situation.

The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is not up to par. There are trim pieces that are exposed. You can see the white plastic trim pieces on the inside of the full-sized freezer and the full-size two refrigerators. One of the under-counter refrigerators in the master bedroom has been making a rattling noise ever since weve received it. I dont expect to deal with those issues when weve spent nearly $100,000 on appliances. We ordered our appliances through Winsupply and they sent out a license authorized service repair person. He relayed to us the message from Viking that the refrigerators and freezers we got were within their variants of production. Were used to using other appliance brands and they will never say that that is an acceptable variant. Our induction cooktop didnt work when we first got it and we had multiple trouble calls. They said they had to make a new part. Every month, they would call us and tell us that it was backlogged another month, and theyd push it out another month. It took them four months before the Viking representative finally called us and said that they would just replace it. They should have just replaced it brand new upfront when it wasnt working. We still dont have an industrial cooktop that works.

Viking Refrigerator is a higher end product. It’s a good appliance. There was a slight beneficial discount for the Viking at the time we purchased it even though it was more money than some other appliances. I haven’t had a problem with it other than a drawer breaking, and they sent us a replacement. I called Viking and they said to make sure the appliances are registered. So, they registered, and once they were registered, they were gonna send somebody out. I couldn’t believe they were gonna do that. When they realized it was just a drawer, they just sent the drawer. The process was easy. I like all the features of the refrigerator. One feature is kinda interesting. They made it so you can put a full-sized pizza on the bottom of it, which is pretty cool because you always have a problem with the box of the pizza. Also, the dealer, Pacific Appliances at Best Buy was great.

Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.

I have a kitchen full of Vikings and my husband likes them because the appliances are pretty to look at. The old Viking refrigerator we purchased needed a lot of repairs so we went and bought a new one a year ago. The door swings too heavy so its always a fear of ours that its going to swing and the latch will get broken. I need to call to see if theres a kit or fix for it but I havent had any issues. Repairs take awhile because of products but other than that its fine. If theres an issue I just call into the Viking number and theyre able to pass these to someone to help me with repair. I have been fortunate to receive excellent customer service from them.
