I got the tall, 36-inch one-door refrigerator with the drawer-freezer on the bottom. I got three of those. I got one for the basement and two for my kitchen. So, I put them side-by-side. We have a big family, and we buy a lot. The refrigeration’s going okay. After like a month, the one in the basement stopped working. They did set up service. Something was leaking up on top. So, they did schedule somebody to come out, and it took a while to get the part. Then, by the time the tech came out, it was three months later. So, there was no refrigeration usage in the basement. It was kind of a little disappointing that we had to deal with that. Also, whenever I open that one little drawer where the ice bin is, I always seem to lose ice cubes into the freezer. It shuts itself off, but I dont think it shuts itself off soon enough once its a bit full, or if the bin is not large enough that ice cubes tend to fall out whenever we open that door. So, that was something I wasnt too crazy about because now I got ice cubes on the bottom of the freezer that I gotta try to get out. I think theyre priced high because of these little issues. When you spend so much money, you expect it to be perfect. You dont expect these little things just happen the way they do. I would expect that on a very less expensive refrigerator freezer.

Were in the Florida keys and we just spend a couple of months a year at this house. We had to get a local company to take out the old refrigeration units and put the new ones in. We needed someone that would guarantee they could get the units upstairs. It was a complicated matter so we chose Viking Refrigerators for practicality purposes. The couple times I saw the Viking rep, he was very pleasant and it was so nice that he could call the company to get right in with somebody to troubleshoot problem. It was really good that they offer that so I know I wasnt relying on one person with very limited knowledge as to what they have. The refrigerator was doing well but there was a lot of noise in the beginning. I took a peek on the top for some vibration and I read in the instructions 22 screws go in there. Once those were put in the noise went away. Also, the quality control needed some help. In the freezer the sensor at the bottom of the door was installed backwards. They had several visits but they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. And they finally got it, had to order in a part and then we had ice. But other than that, they have been great. Right now, Im super happy with them. I love the size and quality of the ice cubes. They fit right in my water bottles. The freezer doesnt defrost so much every time that the ice sticks together. So thats good, I like that.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Theres not enough space to remove the fallen ice and it also causes issues closing the door. The refrigerator is very good otherwise. Looks like a built in.

We were remodeling our kitchen and we wanted to upgrade all of our appliances so we did get Viking for everything. However, the refrigeration portion was faulty so we called our warranty and they did replace it. Its now working fine but thats not expected when you spend that much money on a refrigerator. It was a bit disappointing. For a week, we had to figure out how we were going to store food. We ended up having two technicians come out because they didnt communicate. It was a bit of a mess but its over and Im glad.

My handles keep loosening and tightening does not work. I would love suggestions as my fridge is less than two years old and to have handles that come off is rather bizarre. I was told I could have someone come out and checkout the price... over 200 to just tighten handles that no one can tighten... The allen wrench holes do not function.

I purchased all Viking products for my home. The exterior look is excellent but looks are deceiving! Almost every interior component of my refrigerator (VCSB483D) has had issues. Cracked butter covers, drawers that crack and fall off the track, track that wont support drawers, cracked freezer interior lining, ice maker issues, drain issues. The problem is Viking does not really seem to want to help you when its under warranty (loopholes like cracked components are cosmetic) why should that matter! Ive owned many non luxury brands that not only held up better, the manufacturers stood behind their products.

I bought my Viking refrigerator about two months ago. We remodeled our kitchen and I just put it in about three weeks ago. I haven’t had good luck with it so far. The door doesnt close and they haven’t fixed it yet since I bought it. They came out and looked at it and they said they had to order parts, and they said they’ll get back to me in a week or two. I was on hold for over six hours one day, trying to get a hold of them. Once we got through, there were a lot of problems. We had to do a lot of it online and then they wanted pictures of the serial number ‘cause they didn’t believe us. Its been a terrible experience.

We at Hickam Communities is a military housing community. When I talked to the residents on Friday afternoon, the Viking refrigerator was installed Thursday. They are very happy that it worked and everything is working properly. I talked to Kevin, the director of the installation, and we love working with him and his team. He’s very punctual, he understands the needs that we have being a military community. Its amazing. I was also gonna follow up with him and let him know that we didn’t have any issues this weekend with the refrigerator and that everything’s been good. Having the Viking team and Ferguson for the installation has been incredible. We’ve changed the time on the last minute and everybody has been super accommodating. We couldn’t have picked a better installation team and company to get the refrigerator from.

We just had our nice kitchen remodeled beautifully so, we wanted to get a nice refrigerator. Ive seen Viking refrigerators in different rental properties weve been in and also, some friends have had it. Weve always had different brands like Westinghouse and KitchenAid and we thought we wanted to step it up a little. We got a Viking and I love it. It looks very nice and the size is beautiful. Weve never had a freezer on the bottom and a double door before. Also, we never had an ice maker before so its very exciting. Viking is a beautiful product and Im very happy with it. I would definitely buy them again.

Our Viking refrigerator is spacious and the shelves are usable. I use the temperature control a lot. My only issue with it is the ice tray location. If it self-fills too much and you pull open the drawer, a lot of the ice fall to the back and go down the floor. But overall, its a great refrigerator.

My wife and I perceived the Viking refrigerator as high quality just by certification. We like the look of it as well as the configuration with the door freezer and double open top. We also wanted to get a matching set for we did a remodeling in our kitchen. So far, we really like it but theres one thing that kind of drives me crazy, and its in the minor side. On the freezer, when you open that the big drawer down below, it has an ice maker, and you pull it out. The way the ice is dumped it into the tray and it builds up, about every fourth time, it pushes the ice behind and comes on the floor. But if I open it slowly, reach back, and try to move the ice, it doesnt happen. But sometimes, I forget. The other thing that weve experienced, and I dont know that its the refrigerators fault, is that if our power goes out or trips, then the power comes back on again, the refrigerator doesnt automatically come back on. That could be bad and we initially had a problem when we first got the refrigerator. Aside from that, sometimes we spend a couple of weeks away from the house. Were trying to figure out if theres a way I could get a beeper on my panel or something that would tell me that the fridge is off. But I want it to just automatically cycle back on when the power comes back on.Also, I wish they can come up with something a little better and easier to remove than that plastic coating that they put on it to protect it during transportation. Its really a great idea to have that protective plastic but it is a royal pain to remove it for installations. Other than that, I feel like we got good value on the Viking refrigerator, so Im pretty happy.

The repairman couldnt do anything about it because it didnt make the noise while he was here (needs to know exactly where is coming from before he can make a diagnosis). I will continue to call until the problem is fix. After reading some of the reviews it looks like other problem. Does anyone know if theres a lemon law on refrigerators?

We did an expensive kitchen remodel in 2008, installing a $5000 built-in 36-inch Viking All-Fridge. In these last 5 years weve had nothing but trouble with it, and had to get service men out here numerous times. Often they were not able to fix it. It seems from the other reviews that weve been having the same identical problems with this fridge: 1.The beeper would start beeping at any time while the door was closed - was fixed. 2. The uber-heavy door is sagging to the left - was worked on, but still visibly sagging, so I dont think the fridge closes properly. 3. Ice builds up on the cooling panel behind the top shelf. 4. Water constantly collects on the shelves, dripping everywhere, and everything is wet inside. Have to keep towels on the shelves to keep them as dry as possible. Have to put in dry towels every few days. Have to take out shelves and drawers to dry out, as vegetables etc. will stink and rot when sitting in water all the time. 5. My vegetables freeze in the veggie drawer, and have to be discarded. Cant use the drawers.Numbers 3, 4 and 5 have been ongoing for about a year now. More than one serviceman has tried to fix it, and I have no hope that it will ever change. In the beginning the fridge was under warranty, and the repairs cost nothing. That soon expired, and weve been paying out of pocket for constant repairs to this so-called high-end fridge, which it is not. Our patience is wearing thin. The service people have been very helpful, and really tried their best to solve the problems, phoning Viking, and getting advice from them as to what they should do, but nothing seems to work. We live in Canada, but as Viking has no problem selling their products here, they should also be accountable here when their products dont deliver. This morning, the repairman came out here once again. Viking has told him to install a new gasket, which is the rubber around the door that ensures a tight seal. He did not do it, and told me straight up to cut my losses, get rid of this fridge, and get another one. Easier said than done, because it sits built into a space especially designed for it. So we are pretty much screwed. I asked him to send me a list of all the repairs they had done on this fridge so far, and I will post it here when I receive it.There is no warranty anymore of course, but it would be nice if Viking would acknowledge our very sticky problem, take responsibility, and reimburse us for the price of a second hand fridge. This is the first time in our lives that weve had problems with a fridge, and we sorely regret buying it. We will never buy any Viking product ever again, and will certainly advise everybody else against doing so. Had I known then what I know now, I would never have bought a Viking product. Fortunately my other appliances are not Viking, and none of them has given me any trouble so far.

13 years ago, when we built our house, we bought a Viking refrigerator. About two years ago, we put $1100 into it because it quit working. The guy said it was better than new then about three months ago the refrigerator door fell off. They gave us a whole new one so now I have a new Viking Refrigerator. However, I dont like it as well as my old one because I dont think it holds as much. And already, the plastic is cracked in one of the drawers and I dont know how it happened. We had that problem with the old one, but not this soon. The drawer in the new unit is not extra full, it goes in by itself, and you just give it a little shove and it slides in. I like that feature and its better for me. But my other one have more of a tall shelf on one side so taller things would fit like a wine bottle say and its pretty. Their reps are very nice and they were very good about getting us a new refrigerator. When our refrigerator door fell off, luckily it only grazed my husband. It hit him on the shoulder but he was walking away from it. But it did damage my covered and wood floor. Theres also a big gouge out of my cabinet doors which Ive had somebody come to look at and theres no way that it can be fixed. It has to be replaced. Some of the boards on the floor have to be replaced too which means that they have to redo my whole floor because its an open hardwood floor. In their email to us, Viking said that they wanted our homeowners to do it. I checked with my homeowners and found that its going to raise my insurance. We have a $1500 deductible. So Im in the process of getting bids to send to Viking. Im not happy about that part of it and if it had hurt my husband worse, theyd have a lawsuit on their hands. Also, I feel that we werent notified of this problem with the Viking and were lucky there wasnt any grandkids here.

We purchased out Viking refrigerator at Atlantic Appliances and should have listened to the salesperson who told us it was really an AMANA refrigerator with a VIKING label on the door. He was insulting AMANA because this brand was worse! Not less than 2 months later, the top of the cold cut drawer snapped off. The produce drawers cracked shortly afterward. Obviously the interior was sub-optimal and did not live up to the Viking brand. Overtime, I realized that the storage is not practical either. I cannot fit all of my produce in those two tiny drawers, and the bottom freezer cannot hold a large turkey. Also, the freezer drawer does not come out enough so that you have to bend down and INTO the freezer. Finally the entire refrigerator crashed this weekend and we need to buy another, after owning it for 6 years. Went to SEARS and fell in love with a Kenmore french door... price 2000.00. Price of Viking 3560.00. Do the math! I will never purchase high end appliances again.

Delivery was OK, however delivery man could not turn-on the fridge, they told me to look at the manual. Noticed that the door to the freezer was not centered, and the lights shining into the freezer were not working. Called Viking, they told me the local service person would fix the door and the lights, I should get a call from the service person in 2 days. After 2 days drove to the service person’s address, the place looked like the home of the Adams’ family. Called back Viking, asked for another service person, was told that I would get a call back from Viking in 2 days.2 days later no call from Viking, so I called them, recited my story, was placed on hold for a good 15 minutes and was told that another service person, would be at my house the same afternoon. That afternoon service person fixed the lights, and repositioned the freezer door. I expected better service from Viking after spending $3,500.00 on one of their refrigerator. New problem now, the inside of the vegetable crisper freezes, I’ve lowered the inside temperature to 39 degrees, but no joy. I’m not sure if I want to call Viking Customer Service once again, to have this fixed.

My fridge door fell off and nearly hit my two-year-old son; he was about two feet away. The door is heavy, probably 150 lbs, so it probably would have killed him. Whats worse is when I discovered there had been a recall, I found out that this is the new improved model where they supposedly fixed the door problem! I wanted all my products to match so I got a Viking fridge. However, I wish that it has an internal water source. It seems like a basic thing that all the other providers have that Viking does not. I saw that they have a unit that has that, but the one I bought didnt. There was a lot of back and forth with the dealer about it and there was a miscommunication. I was told that it had an interior water source and they may have said yes because they just misunderstood. So interacting with the dealer wasnt a really good experience. Also, I wish they would have contacted me to see how things were going during installation and after installation. I tried calling them but I wasnt getting through. I think that contributed to a lot of the miscommunication because they werent picking up the phone and contacting me directly. Furthermore, my freezers broken at the moment. In terms of getting assistance to help get things fixed, it was tricky. They contacted me but they werent able to fix it. They had to call a Viking service provider and they got out and the parts are on order now. If youre thinking of buying a refrigerator from Viking, look at a different company instead.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2006 and have had nothing but problems. Weve had thousands of dollars of repairs including replacement for several plastic pieces for over $750. In 30 years, Ive never replaced an interior part on a refrigerator. Viking said the interior pieces are only under warranty for 30 days. Relays have been replaced, the motherboard, and in October the compressor died and was still under warranty. The part was promised by Hadco and then rescinded. It took well over 3 months for the part to come into the dealer. Meanwhile, I had to buy a new refrigerator. I was supposed to go through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a working refrigerator. After the part was finally sent, they sent a customer satisfaction survey. Why they bother, I do not know. They have the worst product and service I have ever encountered. I will never buy another Viking product. Ive shared my experience with everyone I can to spare them my inconveniences.

This is my third time having a Viking fridge. This one is a little better. I spent a lot of money to get it right on the third time. Thats a little disappointing, but we are happy with it this time. On the first house, the ice maker was always broken. It cost me $300 a month on an average for many years. Got here to my second house, and the ice maker frozen in the bottom. It cost me $300 a month. An ice maker shouldnt be that expensive. Its a very inexpensive part. So, hopefully, we got it right this time. We got our new refrigerator at the first of the year and everything has been going pretty good. I really like the space. The Viking dealer was excellent. They really knew the product and what they were talking about. We had such a bad taste in our mouth that if it had not been for the vendor, we would have not purchased Viking. I would recommend Viking. But if it had not been for this new refrigerator and the new vendor, I would have said, Im sorry. Im purchasing somewhere else. Im purchasing something else. Weve had our Viking fridge for five years now and our experience has been very good. We had a problem with the compressor and because its under warranty, we called Viking Refrigerators a few weeks ago to have the piece repaired, and we had a very good service. Initially, we were renovating the kitchen and we wanted a fridge that is not too deep and that is bigger than the standard and we thought that the Viking was the one we needed. We like that we can easily find things in the fridge because its only 24 inches in depth. The only thing is we were a bit disappointed with the cheap drawers because theyre plastic and everything was cracked. So for the price we paid for the fridge, the drawers should have been of a better quality. The person who came to change the compressors said that it would cost us a big amount to change the drawers, so we will keep them with all the cracks.

I’ve owned Viking Refrigerators for a while. Ive had my old one for 20 years and I bought a new one due to its brand and reliability. I also like its look. Ive had my new one for about three months. But the quality becomes questionable after 10 or 15 years and it becomes very expensive to maintain. Also, the issue with the two I have right now is that with the way they are designed, regardless of the temperature, everything freezes over in the top shelf. Everything gets slushy, especially beverages. It almost makes the top shelf unusable and I have to move all beverages to the bottom. I can only store limited stuff up there, otherwise, it’s gonna freeze over. They should at least have a cover on there. Also, they should extend the warranty.

We bought a brand new house and all the appliances were Viking. The original refrigerator that was discontinued was really substandard in the sense that the design was flawed. The freezer is at the bottom half so anything that tumbled from the refrigerator fell on the freezer and the freezer frame was dented. It kept getting dented. I wasnt very happy with the quality so I had to replace that with the model that came about after it was discontinued. I was trying to replace the bottom freezer and I called their parts department and one was better, but the other was charging me $2,000 just for the bottom freezer while a new model costs $3,500. Theres just no recourse as far as their customer service. In addition, somebody recognized that the design was flawed, so they changed it. The freezer frame was no longer stainless steel. It was very very hard plastic and it didnt jut out anymore. So, its horrible that such a design was at all created. There was no quality control. We then got a new refrigerator from Best Buy and they were pretty good except for the delivery that had so much bumbling all over the place. The first people who delivered it didnt know how to handle refrigerators because the foot was dented. Im very dissatisfied with all the Viking appliances we had and Im never going to recommend Viking ever.

The customer service was quite good. My wife contacted a US service representative who referred us to a local repair person who came to our house and assessed the issue. Being that this was something that was recognized as Viking and something that warranted a replacement, he reached out to a Canadian representative who emailed us and spoke to my wife. We then signed a contract and an NDA and they replaced the refrigerator. So far, the freezing at the bottom hasnt happened with the new unit. It functions well.

Viking has top quality and I love it. Also, it’s simple to use. I had a LG previously and it had all the million different settings and bells and whistles, but I never used any. I also had a LG refrigerator that was a lemon and it stopped working after about a year and a half, and the dealer was really difficult to work with. But every call that I made to Viking so far has been answered right away and they’ve been very helpful. I called them once to get the correct model numbers for the product registration and then I also did two follow-up calls to the parts department because my 1-year old slammed into the freezer and dented it. So, I had to order the freezer door. And it was really easy to do. I would highly recommend them.

We just did a full-house renovation and I bought three refrigerators - a Viking and two Sub-Zeros. We bought through Ferguson. The saleslady was great and was good at advising but I was pretty clear on what I wanted and I also went with a decorator. I like the temperature management and the humidity drawers of the Viking and the only issue was if they had more storage containers at the top for the condiments, that would be great. But, otherwise, everything’s great and Im happy with it.

We did a kitchen update through a local company here in Columbia called DKB Kitchen Design. As part of our package, we had originally purchased a GE refrigerator. We had real serious problems and couldnt get any satisfaction with the GE refrigerator. We went back to DKB and explained the problems we were having and documented it for them. They volunteered to take our problematic GE refrigerator back and trade for a Viking Refrigerator. The Viking refrigerator has been doing the job but if I had one issue to complain about, it’s the icemaker. I tell our guests not to put a glass under the icemaker because the ice comes out so hard that I’m afraid it’ll shatter the glass. I contacted Viking about that at first and I got some cryptic response about how we can have a serviceman come out and look at it. And I told them I don’t think a serviceman can change the design of the icemaker. But other than that, weve had it for a year now and weve never had service issues unlike with the last GE refrigerator. It also matches all the other Viking appliances that we have. It does what it’s supposed to do.

I’m sorry to say that this $7000+ refrigerator is the biggest piece of crap I ever owned as an appliance. I spent $1000 for custom panels too when I bought it in 2009 for my kitchen remodel. It broke so many times that it made me cry. I took care of the recalls with the door, had a new seal, had to change all the electronics on top, freezer always breaks and leaks, changed the fan too. I really want this replaced with something else. It’s all built-in too. Kitchen-aid made the same size in 36.” Wish I got that instead. Everything in my kitchen is KitchenAid and I’m quite pleased with it.

I’ve had just about every brand of refrigerator imaginable and I have never ever had to call and use the warranty and try to get things fixed, except for now with Viking. We were willing to pay the price thinking we were getting quality, but it was very poor. The refrigerator came defective. The doors were uneven and it wasn’t fully balanced so it wobbled on the floor. I had all those little quirky things, but the main problem was when the ice maker would not work, it flooded.I had a free-standing refrigerator and it flooded and it froze, and then it completely stopped working. So we called Viking and they kept trying to fix it but it wouldn’t work. Finally, the technician replaced the refrigerator but we hadn’t had it for two weeks when the freezer flooded, froze and stopped working as well. Plus, the refrigerator always came with cracked little door cabinets, the ones where you put your milk. It is terrible. The doors were also still uneven and the little bend was cracked. They took care of that, but it came directly from Viking and that took a long time to receive. Clearly, there is an issue with the manufacturer.I had also missed an appointment because I couldn’t do the window that was given. I called a day or two before they gave the notice but they never called me back. The next thing I knew the tech was at my house and it was like he didn’t get the message. I was so sorry and I wanted to reschedule. I asked if they could come quickly and he said he could come that week. But I followed up and they never called me back. I finally called them the other day and the rep booked me three weeks out, on March 19th, which was absurd. I had waited a month and now I’m waiting another month. When the technician comes and diagnoses it, I know it’s going to be another month to get the part. It’s an absolute nightmare. We made the purchase through the Best Buy store because it was easy and convenient, and I knew that it was backed by Viking. Best Buy was hard to deal with but it was easier than dealing with Viking directly. I’m in that huge several months process of trying to get my ice maker to work. If this problem continues, I’m going to go to the news. The process is bad and outright wrong. I was being pretty cool about it, but Viking gives me crap.Viking doesn’t hustle out and try to own up to it or make it right. They make you wait and the people that they have that work the warranty don’t care. But they really need to care because they may be making a lot of money installing a lot, but it’s not going to continue. I read the reviews and I know there are a lot of angry people. Reviews are out there with this exact freezer problem and it has happened to me twice. What were the chances of that? If they really paid attention, I wouldn’t have had another problem.

We went out and looked at a lot of different specialty shops and we were looking for high-end appliances. We came to really enjoy and like the way the Viking refrigerator looked and we decided to purchase one. The quality seems fantastic. Weve had one little bump in the road where it wasnt defrosting properly in the freezer and they sent a tech out. Not only was the guy very knowledgeable, but more impressive than anything was that he had the broken parts on his truck. 9 out of 10 times when we ever have somebody come out to fix any appliance, its always a miracle, no matter what breaks, they never have it on the truck. So this guy knew exactly what he was doing and he was effective. He was in and out in 45 minutes. But I didnt realize until we got the refrigerator home and the wife and I looked at it that it wasnt quite as deep as we thought it was going to be when we saw it on the showroom, from a standpoint of inside the refrigerator. But maybe they have one of the deeper models. Other than that, its a beautiful piece of almost like furniture, especially the lighting inside of it, which is fantastic. And its easy access for everything, so nothing but praise to the unit so far. I have also many times recommended Viking to a friend.

Bought both (Viking 30 All Fridge, and Viking 30 All Freezer) as showroom models at a discount manufactured 2009 and 2006. Thought they would be under warranty. Problems began - freezer does not freeze my ice cream. They replaced the coils, the fan, the thermistor, the thermistor connector wire. And STILL it does not freeze my ice cream. I have to manually defrost the freezer, then it works ok for a week then back again. Fridge is another story. Started off randomly beeping once a month or so. So I turned off the fridge and turned it back on, and it seemed fine. That was 3 months ago. Now it does not stop beeping, and the fan does not come on. We replaced the thermistor, the powerboard and still it’s beeping. Viking has now told me it is no longer under warranty and so Im on my own. They cant understand why it beeps. Ive had 4 different technicians come out and they are at a loss. Viking does not want to speak to me, since I am not a technician, and have no warranty. Problem is, it’s not easy to replace a 60 space in the middle of the cabinets and I cant think of replacing the whole kitchen which is only 2 years old.

Viking built in double door refrigerator is two years old and is terrible, I have had four service calls to fix it. The first time it simply shut down and stopped working, the service tech replaced the inverter and then it has started leaking water all over the floor. I have now called four times to have it fixed. The local, West Coast Regional Office is a joke. They dont even answer the phone. When they do answer I get the run-around until I insist they send someone to fix it, which then takes two or three days. And then, three weeks later the same thing happens. The unit has a three year warranty and Viking is refusing to honor it. They are just the worst example of customer service I can imagine. My advice is to avoid the purchase of any of their products.

So I moved into a new house 10 years ago it came with Viking appliances. I am a research rat and use unbiased information such as consumer reports. I wouldn’t have bought viking. They already had class action law suit issues In the past. Bad reliability scores etc. Its basically a brand name that should Say Viking = pay way more. Get way less. Our refrigerator breaks every 6 months like clock work. Our friends take bets on when it will break next. A fun game for them. Not so much for me. Their customer support is god awful and they don’t stand behind their product. So do some research and don’t buy Viking. For those who say mine works. I bought a house with a Viking refrigerator in it and since they have a good reputation, we bought a new one to replace the old Viking fridge. The dealer wasnt completely honest though. They said the fridge was a year old and the service person let us know that its older than that. We got a floor model and when it was installed, it wasnt installed completely, so it leaked into the bedroom downstairs. When the service technician came in a couple of days ago, he found that there was a connector at the top of the fridge that wasnt connected, so the shut-off for water overflow was never turned on and the pan under the fridge was overflowing and leaking into the bedroom downstairs. Still, its a nice fridge and we like it, including the look.

Replaced an existing 36 built in Viking with the same size ($7700.00). Didnt want to repair the wood molding to fit a non-built in unit. One year, both Crisper drawers (middle shelves) are cracked in front. Both have vertical cracks in the middle of the drawers. Doesnt affect the operation, but it is at eye-level to remind you every time you open the door. I did save the shelves/drawers from the old removed Viking unit. Unfortunately, I only have one spare shelf left because the Wife has sold my spares to other unfortunate Viking Customers. Oh, and the same issue as everyone else with the Ice Maker; if you dont monitor the amount in the bin and shut-off the arm, every time you open the freezer door ice falls out the bin into the back of the freezer. Doubt I will purchase $180.00 drawers because of cracks.

I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. Also, I want something bigger because the one that I have is really small.

A Viking fridge was part of our home purchase. We were able to pick out the refrigerator that we prefer within some limitations. We could pick the fridge with or without the ice dispenser on the door but we couldnt really change the size because weve already locked in the design of the cabinet. Still, we had the option of picking one from three different vendors. I like the size and the overall layout of the one we ended up with. The quality of refrigeration is okay, however, theres a lot of temperature differential within the interior of the refrigerator - the top shelf might be 34 degrees and the bottom shelf might be 41 degrees. The reason I know the temperature now is because the temperature that it was set to wasnt anywhere close to what it actually was. Hence I bought a little wireless thermometer that I could put in the refrigerator to tell me in real time what the temperature was. Just from putting that in different places in the refrigerator, I found that theres more difference in temperature than I wouldve expected. I havent worried as much about the freezer although we had a number of service issues. With these service issues, it took three or four service calls to finally get the problem sorted out.

The product was still under warranty and I tried to have it serviced because I was having an issue with it. It kept freezing up and then it would have to be defrosted. We bought a new house and Viking appliances came with it. One of those appliances was a refrigerator and Ive found that the layout and functioning bit of it has been fine. Its of good quality and it has nice hardy doors. However, I have two issues with the freezer that will make me not wanna buy that product again. First, when I open up the door at the bottom where the ice maker slides out, the whole drawer comes out with it because of the magnets at the front. If the icebox is full, the little metal arm thing that comes down knocks all the ice off. Ice goes all over the floor and the back of the freezer and thats a major pain. We have hardwood floors and so when the ice falls on it, we cant feel like we can just leave it. Another issue I have is that when the pump turns on to pump water into the ice machine. It’s super loud, like really loud. You can hear it across the whole house. While we can tell it’s filling, all the other pumps weve ever had for other houses that weve owned have been super quiet. We couldnt even hear the water running. I will not buy that particular model again because of these two issues. Nevertheless, the freezer keeps things cold and it works really well. I think it’s a good quality product but the ice maker and water pump are poorly designed.

Weve had it for a couple of months now and we love everything about it. It’s the first time weve had a bottom freezer. Before, we had a side-to-side which my wife and I both hated. Because with the side-to-side, at least at the time that we had it, you couldnt even get a pizza a box in there. Although there was an issue with the trim kit that we got, I cannot brag enough about Viking. When I called to report that problem, they put me in touch with the right person right from the very beginning. I took pictures of it and sent it to them then they looked at it and got right back to me. They said, “Guess what? You found something we didn’t know about. We purchased a house that had a Viking refrigerator and we didn’t realize the value of the appliance. When it broke and wasn’t cooling in the freezer, we looked and it cost $9,000 to replace, which was a shock. I would never buy a $9,000 refrigerator unless it was to match one that broke and it wouldnt have been my first choice by any means. I don’t think I wouldve ever bought a Viking appliance on purpose. Plus, theres nothing better about the refrigerator and its small for its size. We called a tech from Johnson Service last October and somebody came out. He said that it needed either an inverter or a compressor. One was gonna be 600 bucks and the other one could cost a couple of thousand dollars. Then he took off and we didn’t hear anything from anybody for a couple of months. We would call and ask if somebody was gonna come here and fix our fridge and they would say that they were still waiting on a part. That went on for a couple of weeks. We went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a refrigerator. We were calling them once a week to ask for an update. They said that the refrigerator was an expired model that Viking doesnt make anymore and that they had to make a whole new kit for the refrigerator, which was what was taking time. Finally, after Christmas, I called Viking directly and asked what the heck was going on. The lady said that that was the first she had heard about it, even though they were the ones that had initially referred me to call Johnson Service. The lady was helpful though. She got on the phone and started making calls to Johnson herself. The next day, I got a call from Johnson and they said that Viking freed up one of the parts needed and that they would be able to get over here in a couple of days to fix the refrigerator. A couple of days went by, but we still hadnt heard from them. Then finally, a week or so later, we got it fixed. It took 10 weeks to get the refrigerator fixed and we didnt get a deal. It still cost $650 to fix it. It was an awful experience. I would never deal with the refrigerator again. I would work with local stuff that I can get people to fix easier.

We owned a Viking before in a prior home. We felt it was certainly well-built, had quality, and was reliable so we wanted to do that again. I like the ProChill Temperature Management that they put in their refrigerators. It seems to maintain the cooling and temperature so appropriately that the food stays good for a long time. So we’re happy with the way it works. Also, their team went efficiently and the installation was adequate. However, we didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t get the refrigerator fully clad in stainless steel. We had to go out and get panels. Ive had my brand new Viking refrigerator since September 8 and it has been a lemon. It’s the third icemaker that’s been gone into it. The doors were supposed to come and before they could, the inside of the doors just started falling out of it. I had no icemaker during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. Weve been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working. This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday “Well, all refrigerators do that.” But my Sub-Zero didn’t. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but its not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was Ive had to ask for books to operate it. I called and told them I didn’t get any manual to work with me. They told me I can go online and print it out but it was 30 pages to print out.

Our freezer arrived and then we had to wait a long time for the refrigerator. Then when we finally were getting it installed, it turned out that the freezer wasnt working. It didnt have coolant in it. So we had a couple of people come out to fix it. Weve also ordered parts for the new freezer but were still determining whether we want to put them in or not because it seems to be working now. Other than that, its a great refrigerator and the quality is good. I like the dispenser of water inside the refrigerator and it looks good.

Purchased about six months ago and I have been picking up ice off the floor several times a day since! It overproduced ice into the bucket and when you open freezer ice falls out. I contacted customer service and a technician came to house. After consulting Viking directly it was found that this is a known problem and there is no fix for our model. I was told I need to lift the ice handle to stop making ice and put it down again when I need more. Can’t believe I have to make my own ice for a fridge that cost close to $10,000! The rep I purchased the fridge from contacted Viking to see if I could return and the answer was NO! Very disappointed!

I like the size and the design of my Viking refrigerator. But I had problems with it right out of the box. The door wasn’t properly aligned so they had to come out and adjust that. The drawers are self-closing and the tracks on two of them were damaged. One of the dairy compartments was damaged as well. Im waiting for them to replace those but it has been more than a month now. They havent been staying in contact with me either. I usually have to reach out to them. Ive owned Viking in my last house and I thought they would be just as reliable. But apparently, theyre not. I dont know whats going on with Viking and I dont know if Ill ever buy it again.

Viking products have been in my family for as long as I can remember. I found the right size fridge for what I wanted to do from Viking and I went to the dealer and bought it. I was pleased with the delivery and installation. It’s an extremely large refrigerator and it’s not the easiest thing to move around. The quality of the refrigerator is also fine. It’s a high-end unit and its cold. Viking Refrigerators last forever.

We had a new $8000 refrigerator from Viking. Over 5 years we had it repaired 18 times. The refrigerator was recalled so Viking charged us half price for a new one about 8 months ago. This evening - all of the food in the freezer is now thawed out. The refrigerator is not getting cold. Youve got to be kidding. Even the replacement of the recalled refrigerator isnt working now after 8 months. We have an old GE refrigerator out in the garage that weve had for 16 years and it still works perfectly with no repairs in 16 years. So tell me, what is better, the EXPENSIVE OVERPRICED 8-MONTH-OLD VIKING - OR 16-YEAR-OLD G.E. that has never needed repair?

The Viking refrigerator came with the house when I bought it. Its quality has been fine but the ice machine stopped working and the house is only two years old. I contacted the customer service team about it and so far, we haven’t gotten the parts and it’s been over two weeks. All the features are fine but it takes a long time before Viking sends out the parts.

I first heard about Viking Refrigerators at Hahn. Theyre gorgeous, high-quality refrigerators and I like the way theyre made. I like the steel in the doors. I love the my fridge when its working. It has been over a month now and mine hasnt been fixed. We had Viking replace the ice tray. They had to send the whole tray when it was just the round thing in the back. Its made of plastic and if the ice gets jammed, its knocked off. It should have been made of metal. Also, the board went out and it has been on backorder for a month.

10 years ago we bought a 42 inch side by side frig. Service and repair began regular visits from day three and it has been a terrible experience. There are too many issues to list here, but if any one cared I would be glad to share the rap sheet. The original dealer was Sewell Appliance in Sandy Springs, GA and the service company was Hadco. One of the frustrating issues was that many of the diagnosis discussions did not make sense. Cause and effect, symptoms and solutions, etc. are not always rocket science. Many ill-fated service calls have been endured. Once again, details available upon request. We have lost contents several times and constantly put up with. High temps, iced up element, overflowing drain pan, on and on - we now have a small back up fridge plus TWO $160 freezers to rely on. I have no confidence in the Viking fridge. Im surprised they are still made. I curse the day we saved $700 by not buying a Subzero. What do I want? I would like to have a qualified Viking rep look at my service records and admit that this is not normal. In the meantime, I would never have a Viking product and am seeking ways to publicize my opinion until Viking would step in for some sort of acknowledgement.

Our Viking Professional Kitchen included an under counter bar fridge. It worked for less than a month before needing repairs. About every three months after that, it would suddenly just stop working. Parts for repair would take up to a month and a half. I tried talking to Viking but they would not accept that this product was a lemon and maintained that it was covered by warranty (so why should I complain). They didnt get the issue was that we paid way more for a high-end product that worked for only a few months total out of the first year. It has been repaired a half dozen times now (appears to be a poorly designed electronics control - not a compressor).Fortunately, we purchased extended warranty as the same problem has occurred again. Once again, its a month or more waiting for parts. Our Extended warranty is over this fall. If something goes wrong after that, then we are on our own. I will toss it and buy another brand. No problem with any other Viking products, but based on the terrible Viking corporate response, I would not buy from them again. Wolf /Sub-Zero is a better combination if you are springing for high-end appliances.

We like Vikings brand and the way it looks in the kitchen. The refrigerator is great. All the controls are on the left side of the door, and its easy to program everything else. Its wide so its easy access in and out. I like the different drawers and the accessibility to the refrigeration part. Plus, you can adjust the temperature and humidity. The wide shelf space also makes it very convenient. Overall, it’s been easy, manageable, and it sits perfectly in our kitchen.

We did a kitchen remodel in 2005. Just like all of you, we thought we were buying the top of the line appliances. We have replaced the hinges twice, the freezer seal, the icemaker three times, had water flowing out of the corner of the bottom freezer, the alarm going off constantly, and now - a refrigerant leak. We were told that it is a ten-hour repair for two repairmen - approx. $1800! We are going to buy a new unit this weekend, and you can bet that it will not be a Viking. If there is a class action suit....count me in!

Viking Refrigerators have a tough look. They dont have the look of a local GE but rather the look of a Sub-Zero Wolf, and I like it. Also, its quality is decent. The refrigerator that I purchased was only available in a French-door, which is a counter depth. I wish that option was available in a one-door as well. The shelves are movable. Its a tough refrigerator on the inside and its not clumsy. The freshness stays in there longer and things don’t spoil as quickly. But it is extremely overpriced and its so heavy compared to the others. The size could also have been a little wider.

My parents owned a Sub-Zero which only makes built-in refrigerators and not stand-up ones. Ive heard of Viking in the past and theyre my number two choice. However, I received my refrigerator damaged. A lot of parts under it were bent so its not leveled and I have to put a piece of wood behind the fridge to level it. Also, the bottom grille doesnt line up with the fridge. Theres also frost build-up all around the inside of the fridge where the cool air comes out of the little vents. Theres supposed to be a gap in between the shelves but theyre touching. And the door slams hard. It doesnt feel like a normal fridge. Its hard and its like plastic on plastic when it closes. The freezer door is not even with the refrigerator doors like its pushed in on one side. When I close it, it’s supposed to be flush with the doors but only one side is pushed down and one side is pulling out. The Viking team was friendly but they took a while to return calls. I spoke to a representative and she said she was going to check on my fridge. I had to call her the next week and they were supposed to call me back two days later and this last week but I still havent heard from them. They said they were going to send out somebody to repair the fridge but the company guy said its irreparable. Overall, Vikings built-ins are very good but their stand-ups are not.

Bought a Viking that never ran properly, parts broke, mother board changed 3 times. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, mother board, in less than 9 months and finally got replaced again. 2 months into owning it broke down!!! We are told no mother boards out there to replace with - back ordered. So we bought a defective Viking at full price the first time then had it replaced and paid another $5000+ so now our investment total about 16,000$ plus time spent away from work for repair guys to come and fix numerous times per year plus horrible costumer service. One repair company purported to order a part and we paid for it and never got it. They disappeared. Worst product ever!!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price points.

Like many of the reviews here, our Viking French Door fridge was a lemon and so is the new one that showed up after 6 months of service calls and spoiled food. I have now heard from a service person and the appliance delivery men that I am not alone in my issues, which are detailed by many other reviews here. I have wasted 16+ hours of my life talking to Viking and waiting for service calls. Not to mention the $100s of lost due to spoiled food from the freezing in the back of the fridge. The fact that ice spills out onto the floor every time I open the freezer is a design flaw I could have lived with, but this is unacceptable. Built my entire kitchen around this fridge and now I need to figure out how to replace it. Do yourself a favor - the reviews are true - dont buy this fridge. Viking knows its refrigerator is defective, but keep selling it.
