I purchased a side by side Whirlpool refrigerator in December 2009. In one year’s time, all of the plastic shelving has completely broken. The repair man said that he felt like the plastic was substandard and to call Whirlpool but they said that we must have abused the shelving.I and my husband are senior citizens and the only ones using this refrigerator. How can all the plastic components break within one year? I had my last refrigerator for over 10 years and I gave it to my son. It is still running and all the plastic shelving is still intact.I feel Whirlpool should fix this problem but they do not care about their customers. Once they have your money, you are forgotten. In the end, they will be forgotten because I advise everyone I know not to buy from Whirlpool.

Memorial Day weekend and it's raining so I decide to get some writing done. Then the refrigerator starts Beeping and Beeping and Beeping and it's still beeping and the mute button doesn't work. It's been beeping incessantly for hours. I don't want my food to spoil, so I can't turn it off. Save yourself the frustration and not buy this refrigerator.

This is an LG refrigerator with the Kenmore nameplate. The ice capacity is a joke at about 2 lbs per day. It takes forever to make ice even when you use the "Ultra Ice" feature. It is very cheaply made as well. I pulled the drawer in the freezer open one day and a wheel from each side broke off when it reached the end of the track. The freezer also frosts food really bad and you have to throw it away after a few months. Very dissatisfied with this refrigerator which is the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned!! And I paid $1600 for it five years ago.

We were looking for a new refrigerator that met the dimensions of our kitchen. After looking at a lot of manufacturers we found Fisher Paykel and we are glad we did. The refrigerator has far surpassed our expectations. It make the kitchen look great! I would highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

I like the technology and the layout of the refrigerator but I am a little concerned with the reliability of certain aspects of my model, like the icemaker. I have owned the refrigerator for about five years and for the last 3 years the icemaker has not operated properly. It tends to freeze up after about a week or two and it gets jammed up with ice cube being dumped over the sides.

I have a model number LFZ65960ST LG Refrigerator. I have not been very happy with this refrigerator since I purchased it. First of all, it dents and scratches very easily. Second, I received a notice a part needed replace for a recall due it causes the electric to increase. Lastly, this morning December 26, 2011, we woke up to make breakfast and discovered the eggs were warm. We looked up at the light in the top of the refrigerator and the light cover melted the sockets are black, and everything on the top shelf of the fridge was hot and starting to cook. It ruined all the food on the top shelf of the fridge. It melted the butter in the butter holder. We had to throw away probably $50 worth of groceries. My biggest concern is if we hadn't been home, my house could have caught on fire. We removed the light bulbs out of the light and the light cover is completely ruined, I can't even put it back on the lights it won't fit. I read where there is a lawsuit regarding other home fires caused by this problem. I want to get my refrigerator fixed and I feel there should be a recall for this problem with these refrigerators. Please contact me regarding this matter.

I purchased a Samsung 4-door refrigerator because I thought I was stepping up the quality for a refrigerator. The unit worked well for the first 13 months, then the ice maker would suddenly stop producing ice for no reason. I waited a day or two and the ice maker started working again. A few months later, I notice water on the floor of my kitchen. I thought my children spilled something. Then my son notice water dripping into the basement ceiling under the refrigerator. I looked more closely and the refrigerator was dripping water. My plumber guided me on shutting off the water to the refrigerator to limit the water damage. A technician came out a week later and took many pictures and troubleshoot the problem. Upon removing the drawers I noticed what was causing yet a second problem and that was a sheet of ice had formed underneath the fourth drawer, turning that drawer into a virtual freezer regardless of what temperature setting.Samsung initially said they would reimburse for the purchase of the refrigerator. I thought that was a relief, for obviously I had a lemon and they knew it. Everything was quiet for four days and when I checked back again the reimbursement had been cancelled. I received NO call, email or anything. Then I insisted if they were to fix the problem they should resolve the freezing of food in the fourth drawer as well as the leaking refrigerator. Then the reimbursement was pushed through again. Then 3 days later, after I received no email. Everything was cancelled, the reimbursement and the repair. So I am a consumer and I typically have refrigerators to just hang out for years. The Samsung refrigerators have gimmicks that work for a minute and then fail and they are very expensive. I would not recommend Samsung refrigerators. Their phones and tablets yes; refrigerators NO! Stick with a manufacturer that's been producing refrigerators for longer than 20 years.

I bought the Whirlpool Refrigerator wrf989sdam00 in September 2013. I've had nothing but problems with it breaking down within the first year. 5 days after the first year the 2nd cooling coil stopped working. After several attempts to get some help from the company I paid $500 for the second coil to be replaced. One year later that second coil has broken down once again, called Whirlpool and got nowhere. I'll have to pay another repair company to come in, AGAIN, to repair this piece of junk! Whirlpool does not, will not, has not, stood by their disastrous attempts to produce a refrigerator to keep your foods fresh. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM WHIRLPOOL AS THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR OWN PRODUCTS!!!

Updated on 06/08/2021: Same as others -- the Company contacted me, first offer a rebate which I have never seen. Then asked for proof of purchase, invoices, service tickets, etc. which I provided. They even texted me for information which I sent - in April -- and to date, absolutely no response. This is not acceptable!Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator in 2014 and in December of 2020, it failed completely - cooling and freezing. I had a local authorized LG serviceman come and and he called tech support only to find out it was unrepairable. However, LG refuses to honor their warranty -- 7 years sealed system and 10 year compressor. After many emails they agreed to issue me a small payment but of course I have not seen anything! They are awful!!

We purchased our French door refrigerator in 2009. Since the warranty lapsed after the first year, we have had to have it repaired 2 times each time costing close to $300 and are now in need of repairs again! Same problem, the back freezes up and the evaporator fan breaks. It is almost impossible to find a repairman who wants to work on them for two reasons: you cannot get the parts (each time they have to be ordered from Korea) and they take days to thaw out before you can even open them to do the repair! I have been in contact with the company only to be told there wasn't anything they could do. Samsung has a no refund no return policy and after the year they will do nothing unless you purchase their extended warranty. Every repairman has told me they should not even be sold! And to never buy kitchen appliances from Samsung or LG! I called Samsung today, spent over an hour on hold and was told they will not back their product... I am so disappointed in this purchase!
