So I bought an apartment sized MAGIC CHEF refrigerator at Home Depot... IN the first week I had it, the dial Knob in the freezer part broke off completely. I only turned it like twice. Two years later now the refrigerator is dead as a doornail. In fact a doornail has more life in it... I called them to say help me. They said my warranty was no longer valid, but they would mail me a compressor, and I would have to pay someone to put it on... WOW HOW SAD THAT MY 1985 KENMORE REFRIGERATOR THAT I ACCIDENTALLY MELTED A CANDLE WAX ALL OVER THE BACK GRILL IS WHAT IS SAVING ME RIGHT NOW... Thank you for nothing Magic Chef. I would rather rent a man with an ice cube in his mouth to blow on my cold groceries. I hope if I ever see a Magic Chef anything, I can get a hammer and beat it up. Yours truly, a very unsatisfied customer.

We have had this microwave oven (MCM1110W/B) for about 9 months. A few days ago, I noticed it was taking longer than usual to warm up a bowl of soup. Since then it only works some of the time at all and when it does, we smell plastic burning. To the curb it will go! Never again, Magic Chef. Cant find my Home Depot receipt and even if I could, all I would probably get is a replacement of this same unit. Another piece of junk.

Purchased the microwave when my 30 year old GE microwave died in October 2015 and no parts were available. The only service in 30 years was replacement of a light bulb. Saw an ad in the local paper in early November for a Magic Chef for $54.88 + tax at Wal-Mart in Buffalo, MN. The unit died in mid-January. About 60 days in my kitchen after being used to heat up occasional cups of coffee or heating water or soups or defrosting frozen stuff. 60 days!!! Ive had dogs run over by cars that lived for 10 years afterward.Called MC customer service whereupon they directed me to a service center 30 miles SW of my home. They confirmed with me that the microwave was built within the previous 12 months, so it would be repaired under warranty, even though I did not have a proof of purchase. I took the unit to the service center which turned out to be a part-time appliance repair shop which was empty of any appliances until I brought the dead MC microwave in. That was a 60 mile round trip.Ten days later the MC customer service called to tell me there were no parts available for the unit. They would send me a new microwave but I must pay the $29.30(?) shipping cost. After I had a conversation with Wal-Mart Customer Service, Magic Chef customer service called me again and said I would receive a new microwave after I drove back to the service center, retrieved the microwave, cut off the power cord, took a photo of it and the serial/model number plate and emailed it to them. Thinking about it on the way home with the junk microwave, I considered whether having another oven for which there were no replacement parts available was wise. I decided it was not so went to Wal-Mart with the oven to try to get a store credit to buy another oven.I wont even add the experience of talking to the Buffalo, MN Wal-mart store assistant manager about Wal-mart taking the unit back, giving me a store credit. They would not give me a store credit because I did not know what the PUC code for the product was. It was printed on the microwave carton and on the proof of purchase, neither of which I had. After this experience I came to understand why Wal-Mart cant find any employees for their stores. The search for a 17% bottom line profit exceeds customer service. According to an online story last week, the Waltons received over 5 billion dollars for their share of the chain.

I bought my mom a brand new Magic Chef MCBR1020w refrigerator in July while at her house for her birthday. I live in California and she lives in Oklahoma. She is over 90 years old. Fortunately, this was a secondary fridge because it not only overheated, but it stopped working. And then after her food was questionable, it decided to work again. She could have had food poisoning or it could have burned her house down. We have called Home Depot to return it, but they made it sound like a technician needed to be called first to decide if it was returnable. She is unable to return it anyway (90 years old). This fridge is less than 3 months old. She had an old refrigerator that worked after 20 years. Why is there no recall on this product when so many people are complaining?

This is not fancy, but I live in a small, one bedroom apartment. The space for my washer, drier is small, so this was basically the only option that fit in the space. I definitely prefer this to using the nearby laundromat. There are also plenty of cycle options to choose from for me. Also, if the clothes are still too wet, I can run the spin cycle again to save time in the dryer!

Very happy with this purchase. The product came just as described. The packaging the product came in was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend.

The fridge in our seasonal trailer died. This is so much better than what we had! It looks fantastic too. It has so much space inside and cools really quickly. I had a little trouble balancing the temps between the fridge and freezer.

Its an electric stove. It burns everything. The burners are covered so whenever you turn it down you have to take the pot off, put it on the other burner for it to cool off, then wait for 5 minutes for it to cool down then continue, especially if you are cooking rice. The worst stove I have ever come across.

Microwave was not even being used and all of a sudden it just let out a big blue spark. Now, it will not work and makes a weird kind of humming noise. The turn table won’t work. Light inside does not work. It’s very strange. It will do that when not even on. I am now afraid of it. I completely unplugged the microwave. The model number is mco153uwf. It’s an over the counter microwave. I will never buy another Magic Chef product again. These people should have to pay for the garbage they sell. If I’m not at home, I don’t know what would have happened. Too scary to think of the possibilities!

We purchased a Magic Chef chest freezer, Model HMCF7W2 on November 23, 2014 at a local Home Depot. Recently, we noticed that frost is building up on the rubber seal by the lid. We believe the seal is bad. We talked to Home Depot and the clerk suggested we contact you directly. He said the freezer should be under warranty. We havent had it in use for more than 60+ days and would like to know what we can do to rectify this. Their return policy ends 2/21/2015.

I purchased this microwave 1.1 cu.ft. counter top microwave oven on 7-28-2016. It is now 9-18-2016 less than 2 months and this microwave has been making noises when in use for the past 3 weeks. What are you going to do about this? I purchased the microwave at Home Depot.

Purchased October 2012. Service call two weeks later. On 7/30 we returned home to find refrigerator MODEL mcBR1020w 10 cubic foot had quit and all food defrosted and had to be trashed. $200 loss. Home Depot referred me to Magic Chef. After one misdirected call, one dropped call reached CS. Repair person will be there in ten days. Asked about refund as still under warranty. Nope. Have to have three service calls before they will do it. Without unit until repair. Told rep Ill get it repaired and put it on my lawn for sale. Will never buy a Magic Chef product again. A very inferior product.

The over arrived with a small dent in the front metal, most likely by the delivery service. The stove and over work perfectly, as advertised. One thing I was surprised with, was the amount of heat that blows out of the front vents of the oven when in use. Really warms up the kitchen. I assume this is to keep the stovetop cool, but think a better way to insulate the oven might save some energy. Other than that, the cooking systems themselves work great.

We purchased this microwave oven two years ago for approximately $499. At first, it worked somewhat okay. It had many deficiencies, e.g. some of the functions never worked, it would turn on all on its own and the light would come on periodically. Tonight, we used it and it started to smoke. It no longer works. I have unplugged it as I believe it is a fire hazard. Thank goodness we were home! The product is certainly not worth what we paid for it. This was only the second microwave purchased - our Panasonic counter top microwave still works and it is 23 years old! I guess Ill have to bring it out!

I purchased my second Magic Chef over-the-range microwave in June of 2010 (model number MCO160UW, serial number DJ8500938 for the second one). The first microwave had the same problem the second did. The unit will start on its own, shut off when operating after less than 20 seconds, and most recently operate and function with the door open. This unit is a hazard to anyone who purchases it, not to mention giving the headache of not having a microwave in working order--twice--and the installation, removal and reinstallation of the unit, and now the removal and reinstallation of another unit. I can guarantee you it will not be a Magic Chef. Too many times we give big companies the benefit of the doubt and say, Well, we just got a bad one. That is not the case here. The big company just made a bad one and should accept responsibility for their engineering flaws. I sure hope their engineers dont make medical equipment.

I purchased a new MCBR1020W refrigerator at Home Depot, rented a small truck, got it home, plugged it in and not working. I called the warranty number and they referred me to another organization (Maytag?) for follow up. Not their problem they said, back to Magic Chef. Their customer service was rude, failed to respond on a call back after several days, accusatory and provided no solution. On my third call, they informed me they would assign it to a local service company (finally). We’re about two weeks in at this point. The local org came out, diagnosed the problem immediately as ‘system was never charged in China,’ unrepairable and submitted their report. A few days later, I was informed a check would be mailed but I was responsible for getting rid of the piece of junk I bought. No help with that and it cost money to get rid of a 10-cubic foot refrigerator, about $55 plus $30 for the truck rental. The refrigerator was extremely poor quality, customer service rude and unresponsive. But I am enjoying telling the story to as many websites as I can, and I don’t generally do that.

This washing machine is a great purchase for a family of one or two. It get the job done. Clothes are well washed. I'm very happy with this product, yes its compact, but its no different than the other larger machine when it come to the end result, which is the clothes are washed clean.

This (Magic Chef wine fridge dual zone mcw44DZ) was bought from Home Depot about 5 years ago for about $450.00 (going by memory). It was installed in an under counter cabinet alcove with required clearances. It has always been warm and heated up the counter top above it despite the 1 air gap around it. This last year it has felt even warmer than usual and we became concerned. Today I emptied it and pulled it out. After I unplugged it and spent 10 minutes emptying it, 10 minutes getting it out, and a couple more minutes before I went to garage for infrared temp gun, back panel at compressor location was 119*!!! It was probably well over 125* at the beginning of that process. That is crazy heat.I am not putting it back in. I am sure my electric bill will go down now. Otherwise, it has keep wine chilled as it should, but figure it was $90-100.00 a year depreciation, plus ridiculous electric usage, so maybe +/- $10 a month for cooled wine? My wines arent that expensive. For us mere mortals and our $10-20.00 a bottle tastes, the storage costs make no sense. You really NEED to be buying pricey wines to amortize the costs over.

I thought I was buying a deep freezer, but I bought trash. I bought a Magic Chef deep/chest freezer from Home Depot. It worked for 1 year. Then the compressor died but the indicator lights on the unit still showed that it was working properly! As soon as the 1 year warranty expired it died shortly thereafter! Deep freezers are supposed to last between 8-10 years. Who would expect that this brand only lasts about 1 year! That seems to be the reason for the short warranty length, bc they know they are making complete trash. When I reached out the manufacturer, I was initially told that I would have to have one of their service techs come to home to confirm that the unit did not work. Fine, I said. However, bc I do not live within 50 miles of their service center they would not send anyone! Nor would they reveal the location of the service centers so that I could decide whether to take or ship it to them for repair. So whether it was or was not within the warranty period, they would not fix it under the warranty bc I was more than 50 miles away from them. Ok, I said. Next step. I was then told to fill out the online form and submit my receipt to order a part under the 5 year parts only warranty. Despite the full warranty being 1 year and parts warranty being 5 years, the site told me that my 1 year old unit was outside of the warranty and that I would have to pay for the part! What happened to the 5 year parts warranty? Apparently that was just a lie. I then tried to order the part without using the warranty and...wait for it...the part costs as much as the full unit!!!!Magic Chef knows its selling trash. That is why they have such short warranty periods and why their parts costs so much, bc they know it will give out and need service that they will not cover. I will never buy this brand ever again. I suggest that no one else buy it also. If you are going to spend the money, buy a reputable brand or at least the store brand so that it can be returned to the store within the warranty period! Magic Chef is a complete waste of money!!!! Do not buy Magic Chef!!!!

I purchased the fridge in January 2015 in Home Depot, 7 month later in July it broke... for the second time! On the second day after purchase the fridge started making high pitch noise and Home Depot replaced it fairly quickly. However the worst thing is not the fact that this refrigerator is a very unreliable product, the worst thing is Magic Chef or how they also call themselves MC Appliance or MCA Corporation is the fact that they dont care about their warranty responsibilities at all!However 7 month later I wasnt as lucky. The first time I scheduled the service call I waited on my only weekend from 9 to 5 at home and nobody showed up. When I called them the next day, they told me that my service call was cancelled but they dont know why!!! When I asked them to reschedule to the nearest available date, they told me that they have to talk to the maintenance people. Then I called back again and they told me that they dont have my information! Now you can imagine what kind of company this is.Now about the cost. Yes its cheap but once your fridge breaks you lose all your groceries because they rot. I lost $150 worth of recently purchased groceries. Then you would have to eat outside. Because of this wonderful company I am eating outside for already 3 weeks, spending about $20 a day on 2 meals. All together I spent on the food about $550. If I subtract the cost of groceries I would have purchased, the amount of money I WASTED because of this company totals to about $300! While the price of the fridge is $324. My advice stay away from Magic Chef products as far as possible, pay extra $300 and buy a high quality product. Otherwise there is a good chance youd stay without a fridge, forced spending money on the outside food for weeks!

This little unit was well worth the money spent, its a space saver-nice design, I did some online research on portable dryers that have the buttons on the bottom instead of on the top, the reason for that is because these are stackable units,, I purchased a Amanti stack rack for this unit and it sits on top of the unit and my portable washer under it, thus making the knobs to the unit up higher. I would recommend this dryer to anyone that want a great value and a awesome dryer.

I have had a white Magic Chef 1.6 cu. ft. over-the-range microwave (model number MCO165UW) for two years. It would turn off completely, after running it for several minutes. Now, it is completely dead. It is a piece of junk.

My husband and I live in a small apartment. The hookups are in the basement, but, I can't get down there without help and forget trying to do it carrying heavy baskets. The washing machine was quickly delivered by UPS. It fits in a space in our bathroom. The washer comes with everything needed to use it, but, we bought a Washing Machine Mixer hose so we could attach a hose to both the hot and cold inlets. The drum holds up to two queen sized sheets and four standard pillowcases. Liquid fabric softener is added, while the machine is filling up for its final rinse, 12 minutes before the regular cycle ends. This washer cleans very well and is very quiet. The spinning action, after the regular 42 minute cycle, spins the clothes very dry. This makes drying the clothes in the small Magic Chef dryer easier too. This washer was a great purchase. The only regret we have is not buying it sooner.

We purchased a Magic Chef 8.8 CU. FT. Upright Freezer (MCUF88W) about three years ago. It stopped working. With my limited knowledge of electronics I suspected the compressor went bad. I was happy to see that the compressor was under a 5-year (parts only) warranty. Now the problem. They can only send the part to a licensed appliance repair professional. I understand that based on the refrigerant handling and tools required to replace the part. I spoke with a local repair company and they refused to give me an estimate for the labor until they confirmed it was the compressor. Against my better judgment, I scheduled a service call for $70. It turned out to be the compressor and I was quoted $505.68 for labor to replace the compressor. I only paid $300 for the freezer in the first place. I will also be writing a review of the appliance repair company.The 5-year compressor warranty is only a tool to make the consumer feel like they have some sort of protection. It is impossible to replace the part for less cost than buying a brand new freezer. I spoke with customer service about this issue and they were incredibly unsympathetic and rude, basically telling me sorry for your luck. I made some mistakes in this process, like scheduling the service call and not purchasing the retail stores extended warranty, but I will not be buying another Magic Chef product based on my experience.

In 2007, I purchased a Magic Chef Refrigerator model: CTB1821ARW. The refrigerator is not six years old yet, and it looks like new. I never had any problems with the refrigerator until recently; the defrost heater stopped working. I called a service professional to fix the problem, and this is when I ran into another problem; the defrost heater part is not available anymore.I cannot find a defrost heater part # 63001387 for my refrigerator which would cost me approximately $30, so I have to dispose of my refrigerator which costs $600 and buy a new one, preferably one of the Whirlpool’s family. This is what a Whirlpool customer service representative suggested. Do you think it would be reasonable to throw away a five or six years old refrigerator? I don’t think so, but Whirlpool corporation’s customer service representatives think it’s a great idea.Whirlpool Corporation acquired a company which was producing Magic Chef Products, but it is obvious they forgot to acquire their liabilities. Searching for defrost heater online, I discovered that I am not alone in this frustration. Many other consumers who purchased Magic Chef Refrigerator five or six years are having the same problem. When consumers purchase costly products, they do not expect the assembly parts for their products to be discontinued in the next five years or even sooner. I have to question, “Is this how Whirlpool Corporation makes their profits?”Because I couldnt accept the fact that I have to buy a new refrigerator just because of a small part which is discontinued, I sent a letter to CEO Mr. Fetting asking him for help. Two weeks later, I received a phone call supposedly from the executive office. Jennifer was trying to explain to me that Whirlpool Corporation is not responsible for not having parts for Magic Chef Refrigerators. Instead, she offered a 30 percent discount on the suggested retail price on my choice of Whirlpool brand refrigerator.Anyone who did a research before purchasing a costly appliance knows that Whirlpool products are more expensive and lower rated compare to Frigidaire or Kenmore products. 30 percent discount on Whirlpool refrigerator still doesnt match a regular price of Frigidaire or Kenmore. Later, I got another offer in the mail which said that I can purchase an extended four year warranty which will cost me $454. The agreement states that if a refrigerator cannot be fixed, it will be replaced with a new one (sounds grate); but there is a little trick. For refrigerators such as mine, which are 5 years old, only 40 percent of its cost will be replaced. Any reasonable person who can calculate will see how foolish this offer is. I already know that my refrigerator cannot be fixed due to discontinued part. Whirlpool Corporation wants me to pay $454 for extended warranty which will make me eligible for a refund of 40 percent, approximately $240. Where is the logic? Do they really want to help their customers? Purchased a Magic Chef Chest Freezer Model HMCF7W1 on sale at Home Depot on March 30, 2014. On Tuesday evening of this week I noticed the freezer was not working properly. Food items stored in the freezer were beginning to defrost. Contacted Magic Chef because the appliance was still under warranty. Arrangements were made for a repair person from a local company to come to my home today between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. The technician arrived on time and after looking at the freezer informed me it could not be repaired. He suspected that a soldered connection inside the case had broken allowing all the refrigerant gas to leak out.The technician contacted Magic Chef and informed the company the freezer was not repairable. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from Magic Chef notifying me that a refund check would be sent to me. I contacted Magic Chef and informed them although I had just dumped nearly $200.00 worth of food I didnt expect to be reimbursed. I did not think it was fair however for me to have to drive nearly 20 miles to the recycling center and pay $30.00 to get rid of an appliance that failed after only 7 months. In addition, the refunded amount wont even cover the cost for a replacement freezer because the Magic Chef was purchased on sale.Im out of $200 in food plus the cost of dumping the freezer and the difference between what Ill have to pay for a new one and what I paid for the Magic Chef freezer. I will NEVER PURCHASE any products made by Magic Chef again. I will also notify family, friends and FB friends and urge them to not buy any appliances made by this company.

If I were able to replace this junk I would (I rent). The knob is broken to the oven, so you never know what temp it is. An in-oven thermometer usually tells the temp, but it fluctuates often up and down and does not properly bake. The digital readout is broken and you never know the time. There is not 1 thing I can say nice about the oven. The stovetop is fine; it cooks as it should. For information purposes, this is a gas range.

Magic Chef Microwave MCO153UW - I was heating up a blueberry muffin. I was standing in front of the oven that was set for 15 seconds to warm the muffin. This microwave is an under counter. All of a sudden, a big red flash come out of from around the door. The light did not work anymore. The table would not turn and it just made a humming sound. I felt the explosion on my face for a least an hour, a tingling feeling. I wake up this morning and my face is burnt, as if I had sun burn. Radiation burnt. I will be following up with my physician on this. Do not buy this brand!

My husband Jack ** and I bought a Magic Chef 10 cubic foot refrigerator a little over a year ago for an apartment unit we own (see invoice enc.). It died just after the one year warranty expired. A certified refrigerator repairman told us that the compressor was dead and even though the compressor was guaranteed for 5 year and would be provided free by your company it would cost at least $350 to repair it. Needless to say, given the original purchase price, this was definitely not worth it. The repairman also told us he gets nothing but complaints for the Magic Chef 10 cu. ft. units and he has seen dozens that have stopped working in similar circumstances.We are shocked by the shoddiness of this product. We have known the Magic Chef name for decades. We have known the Maytag name even longer. And we find it understandable that Whirlpool ditched the Magic Chef line in Canada after it had purchased Maytag. Usually I would demand you replace the fridge. But given what a piece of crap it has turned out to be, we dont want another one and the least you can do is refund our money.

So our fridge did break after 8 months and they don't have any service providers out here but their customer service is great. They will send out the fan and control board with instructions. I didn't have to wait 9 months as I did with LG being lied to by call centers and people overseas laughing at our situation. It was like a breath of fresh air. Even with it breaking faster than the LG unit I would always buy this product instead because they operated with ethics, honesty, and alacrity. You have to go through an experience with LG to fully appreciate the difference. Thank God there are still some good companies out there.

I bought a Magic Chef mini fridge exactly 13 months ago and the compressor stopped working. It would come back on intermittently only if you shook the fridge back and forth and that is for about 2 hours. The refrigerator has never been overloaded. Not has the door been open and closed a bunch of times in 24 hours. It gets extremely hot during the summer time where Ive been running a fan in front of it. Im extremely upset with CSR. They will warranty the compressor but I have to pay labor! This is extremely not acceptable at all. Everything in the back of the fridge is clean (no debris, no dog hair, no dust, Nothing!). I bought at Home Depot 11/27/2016.

I'm very happy with my stove, only a couple of thing I would change . It is hard to read the settings on the dials and the power burner is loosing the black paint on the burner making it look bad.

This is for the Magic Chef portable washer.. great price, great size for apartments. Purchased the washer and dryer for less than $400 at Walmart. Works really good, really quiet. Is good for a family of 4 or less.

I was using our Magic Chef over the range microwave when there was what sounded like a small explosion, followed by large amounts of smoke filling our kitchen, which set off our smoke alarm. I grabbed a fire extinguisher from the garage, ran back into the kitchen, but the fire had extinguished by then. I went out to our breaker box and turned off the breaker to the outlet that the unit was plugged in to. By this time, our home security system had detected a fire, the operator called and dispatched the fire department when I mentioned smoke. The fire department arrived, I led them to the microwave, they used their FLIR to look for hot spots, found none, and advised me not to use the product. I removed the microwave from its mountings, took it to my garage, disassembled the unit, and found obvious signs of fire in one of the transformer windings, which I took many pictures of. The transformer make and model appeared to be a Qingdao Yunlu Electronics Co Ltd DLAR10A0-1HT. I removed the transformer, took a great deal more photographs, and noticed that it was still warm to the touch. All other components in the microwave seemed to have no external signs of damage. I am confident that this transformer failed, for some reason, and caught fire.

Purchased in Feb 2021. Plugged in and waited for cooling in July 2021. Spent over $400.00 in food. Went out to take something out of my garage to cook. Noticed all food was no longer frozen. Checked plugs. Red light was on. Green was not. Removed some food and cooked it right away. Lost all other food. Was informed after a technician diagnosed freezer compressor was not working, I would be given a refund minus the shipping charge and the hundreds lost in food. NO ONE SHOULD TRUST BUYING THIS PRODUCT. DISGRACE.

I bought the freezer several weeks ago. Thought we had made a mistake of leaving door open one or 2 times as the food was soft. Everything is still soft - chicken cutlets, steak, Ellios Pizza. What can I do?

I purchased a Magic Chef stainless steel over the range microwave model number MCO153SF from Home Depot about 5yrs ago. The turntable won’t turn anymore, shuts down for no reason, and won’t run longer than 2 minutes then shuts down. There is a very scary electrical burning smell! Extremely disappointed, it looks beautiful, works terribly! I thought I was buying a good product, obviously not. I’m really afraid its going to catch on fire. My last microwave lasted 12 years! What a huge waste of money.

Ill keep this simple. 2 years ago, I purchased a deep freezer. A small one, from Home Depot. It has completely stopped working. The life expectancy for this APPLIANCE is approx 2 years?? Home Depot shouldnt carry the brand. And the Feds should explore putting them out of business for good. -- I wouldnt be so irate had it not been for two things: 1) I JUST bought this thing (I have other appliances much older, still operating appropriately).2) ALL of these review mimicking my experience. If it were just me, then maybe I bought a lemon. Reading all of these similar experiences, shows that this company has a HISTORY of shoddy work.They shouldnt be allowed to take peoples money in exchange for JUNK.. - RCB

I purchased a small Magic Chef upright freezer. The seal went bad. After about a month of dealing with Magic Chef on the telephone, I am now defrosting the freezer the 4th time because of the frost buildup. I did purchase a new seal, which is worse than the one that came with the freezer. I was promised another new seal at no cost. I have not received it. And I can no longer get a call through to the supervisor Sue. I will not buy another Magic Chef appliance. And I do think Magic Chef owes me the nearly $45 I spent on the new seal, and the money for the electric bill I have encountered because of their faulty appliance and service.

My freezer in my refrigerator just was not large enough to accommodate extra food that I needed to freeze. I saw that the Magic Chef was on sale at Home Depot for $99.00 so I went and purchased it. It is not very large but just large enough to freeze extra food that I might need to make ahead for Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. when I have extra company. I have had the freezer for 1 year and it has never given me any problems.

I received the box and it was in great shape. I wrestled it home, unpacked it, and it had a dent. I don't really care about it as I am only really concerned about how it works. I hooked it up, manual was not very helpful but I figured it out. The sink end leaked but I went to the hardware store and got the correct faucet attachment. I hooked it up again and did laundry and it works amazingly!!! It is quieter than I thought and much bigger than I thought. I just wish it had wheels. The wash cycle runs strong, rinse is thorough, and the spin is a very good spin, my clothes come out close to dry. I like that I can control the water temp with the faucet and add fabric softener when I want.

PUrchased Magic Chef Mini Fridge  888--775-0202Model HVDR430SESerial #HD1608HVDR430SE05020 as a gift for my handicap son. It lasted 5 months to the day of purchase. Started smoking & almost caught fire. Thankfully my son smelled smoke and saw it start sparking from the back where the motor is located. Contacted original Home Depot store it was purchased from and showed my receipt. They stated I needed to contact Magic Chef. Contacted Magic Chef. Case #**. Emailed receipt & contacted them again, they stated never received. Will never buy anything Magic Chef makes again. They are a joke. Ended up throwing this piece of trash fridge out at the dump. Just wasted over $200 on nothing.

This upright freezer was purchased for our clothes garage area by my father-in-law from Home Depot. The first day I did not plug it in. The second day I plugged it in and put it on the recommended setting. Went shopping loaded it with meats. Went back out a week later to pull something and all my meat so soft. So I threw away the meat which was a big waste of money. Unplug the freezer plugged it back in after day and it still never would freeze. I decided since the freezer is less than six months old and just sitting there not being used that I would call to get the company to honor their product. The girl on the phone was very rude and said that because it is in the garage it Voided my warranty. Most people buy these small upright freezers so that they will have extra space and keep their freezers in the garage I have a refrigerator in my garage right now that works great. I would advise against a company that will treat you poorly when you call over a small freezer. I will push the freezer to the corner for the garbageman to pick up tomorrow and will never purchase a magic chef products again. Great customer service you have.

Our Magic Chef turned on & began running by itself! I was told to unplug it to reset the motherboard for several hours then plug it back in. The oven started act possessed and turn on at its own will & run again! Once again I became alarmed, went to unplug it to find the thing dead! Now Ive a microwave thats less than 2 yrs old & needs a funeral! The model # is MC016UB & the serial # is DJ07803343. Has anyone heard of a recall on it? This thing could have burnt my house down!!!!!

Emailed - two week delay with silly questions. Phoned - asked to send receipt which I did - they called to say they could not verify receipt. Go to store I purchased it from to get another receipt. Seriously my time is valuable. They obviously do not want to send a service rep out to repair a 6 month old 10 cu ft fridge and their solution is to give customer the royal runaround. So frustrated beyond human tolerance. They win - fridge remains unrepaired, I have better things to do than spend a month trying to get service.

In summary, bought a mini fridge for my daughter going to college. Model number HMDR310SE. After 6 months, motor started making a constant loud noise. When I called into customer service I was told that to fix, my daughter would have to drop refrigerator off at a service location to be evaluated since there was no one who would do an on-site evaluation for that product. Crazy to think my daughter would have to haul her 4.4 Cu Ft fridge to her Honda Civic and strap it on the roof to get it there. Horrible product and even worse customer support. Biggest mistake ever!!!

Wine and beverage center MCWBC77DZC - I was not happy with the way Magic Chef handled this whole situation. This is the poorest customer service I have ever received from your employees and upper management all the way to the supervisor. This is The most dysfunctional Organization this Company could give to Consumer. Even if you hire outside contractors you are solely responsible for their actions as well as anybody else’s actions. It all reflects back to your company in this warranty and you need to hold someone accountable. That is the problem with Companies these days. No one has the backbone to tell the truth about how customer service is And if you do tell the truth. Does the company even doing about it.My experience “no.” I feel your warranty is as good as the piece of paper it was written on. Be truthful and just tell the consumer you don’t have a Warranty. My opinion you need to restructure your whole warranty department. For the Poor management skills. And you need to look into updating and being more involved on contractors and making them communicate with the customer. You tell someone 9 am to 5:00 pm. That is not Considered a appointment that is hours of operation or Service. Definition of an appointment is a arrangement to meet someone at a particular time and place. In conclusion I am not satisfied of your product and I question if you really care about what you are selling to the consumer. This situation was never resolved. Totally unsatisfied customer.

Do not buy anything from Magic Chef! I bought a refrigerator from them and the second I brought it home it was making funny noises. I didn’t think much about it, just thought the compressor was loud. Fast forward 13 months and the refrigerator stop working completely! Their warranty is only for one year and they make you jump through a ton of hoops to get any parts. It costs more for the diagnosis and technician support than the stupid refrigerator did! I’m so unhappy with this company’s cheap products and lack of care for the consumer. I will NEVER buy anything from Magic Chef EVER again!

I bought a Wine and Beverage cooler side by side with separate control zones twenty two months ago and the temperature was 64 degrees and not cooling. I bought the extended 1 year warranty that I found out is no help to me since they can’t locate a service company for me. I got a service company to come out with $150 charge to tell me the compressor is bad. I called Magic Chef who told me they would send the compressor to a registered service company at no charge but I had to pay the labor and refrigerant which is hard for me to do since they had no list of service companies to share with me. RIDICULOUS! Poor customer service! Never buy another Magic Chef product!

Warranty is worthless. I purchased a Magic Chef chest freezer from Home Depot in November, 2015 and it stopped working in December, 2016. The compressor froze up and several hundred dollars worth of meat was ruined by the time I noticed it. I call the Magic Chef warranty service center and then because it was over one year old, by one month, they will only warranty the compressor not including labor to replace it. I would have to find an authorized service center, take it to them, pay them to diagnose the problem and then Magic Chef will send them a new compressor that I have to pay the labor to install and fill with Freon. The cost of all this is more than a new freezer will cost. They also will do nothing about the ruined food that the piece of junk freezer destroyed. I will never purchase anything with the Magic Chef name on it and would recommend others be warned about this companys poor quality and worse warranty.

I have made contact with the customer service and left messages. She called back early in the morning and I missed it. Again, I called and left a message but no contact about my microwave for above range. I am going shopping right now as I have to have one ASAP. The Magic Chef just stopped working. I have read about the other problems with the same one. I will not get this one.

The saying you get what you pay for couldnt ring more true. Their products are very cheap, their 1 year warranty is the for a reason. Youre buying a temporary solution, as evidenced by nearly every other comment on here. I have truly never had a worse consumer experience than I had with MagicChef and its absolutely baffling to me theyre still in business, especially after seeing everyone else having similar experiences.2+ months ago I started a warranty claim on a washer/dryer combo unit that I had purchased with a condo in Sept of 2020. The unit was showing an E3A error. When I went to initiate the claim, it was determined that I had a unit that was manufactured WITHOUT A SERIAL NUMBER! I would encourage you to try and find any electronic in your home that doesnt have a serial number. After driving home the fact that they mis-manufactured without a serial number (indicative of the quality of the manufacturing) they reluctantly agreed to set up a courtesy service. That appointment was scheduled with AVA Appliance in CO initially, even though the unit is in AZ. Needed to call back to MC and have that fixed.I then discussed the service with AVA, telling them it is a rental, and would like to have someone come look at it when the unit is vacant. AVA missed **8** appointments because nobody was in the unit which each and every time I had told them would be the case. After flying down to AZ, in a pandemic, mind you; I stayed at the unit to ensure it was looked at. The individual showed up late, spoke 0 English, cleaned the water trap, opened up the unit, put it back together, and didnt test to see if the error was resolved - it was not.I called MC back and said I didnt want to use AVA any more and couldnt wait for more missed appointments. MC set me up with A&E (the only service company with a WORSE rating than AVA - like less than 2 stars) for the next appointment. EVERYTHING about MC is cheap - their parts, their services, their partners. A&E missed 2 appointments and showed up 5 hours late for the most recent. The parts were replaced (had to do all this with guests in the unit, not a good look) but again, the tech did not check if the error was fixed.I decided to contact MC again and see if theyd replace the unit as were already 2+ months into this maintenance request. I called on a Thursday, was told a manager would get back to me that day, and it is now Monday evening. After a VERY rude interaction with a service rep, Gina (she spoke over and cut me off constantly to which I called her out on and no apology only more attitude), I finally got a hold of the manager who I had originally got to reluctantly accept the warranty claim months ago - his name is Victor. However, now Victors tone had completely changed. He was the individual that had agreed it was their error there was no serial number, but now hes saying I need to get the receipt for the unit from the previous owners. First of all, nobody keeps a receipt for something that should have a serial number - second, how would he expect me to do that? I have 0 contact with the sellers because, well, real estate agents...Im now told that they could have someone come out and look at it again - which I dont have the time for, this thing has been broken for 2+months, OR, get this, a WHOPPING 25% discount on buying a different MC appliance. WHY on earth would I buy another MC appliance, for it to break in 1 year, to go through this whole process again? Im now willing to pay the extra probably $1,000 for a reputable company with proper services and support. I will NEVER buy anything else Magic Chef again, and I HIGHLY recommend you do the same, or you may find yourself writing one of these review as well.

I purchased a Visanni Refrigerator (made by Magic Chef) that fits under the counter of my bar, with a standard height counter top. I bought the product from Home Depot for $399.00 as part of the entire bar install which was completed through Home Depot. I purchased the item in June 2012, but the installation was not completed until August 2012, so I opened the box and began using this product in August. In October 2013, the refrigerator stopped cooling my beverages. I contacted Magic Chef and they provided the name of their authorized service provider. That provider charged $265.00 to replace a relay switch. I spoke numerous times with the Illinois manager of Magic Chef, who advised me to provide copies of the receipt as well as all information regarding the bar install complete with dates, notes, etc. and the company would review these items and give consideration to me with regard to my out of pocket costs for the repair because the refrigerator was barely out of warranty. Needless to say, Ive been in email contact with this manager for 5 or 6 weeks with a response of were discussing this with the service provider to see what we can do. Very inferior product and a much more unprofessional company! STAY AWAY.

Glad my neighbor came over to put on the cord! But the product is so far amazing. Many features one would not expect at the price (or ever) such as two oven lights. Convection baking. Boiling a pot of water in two minutes. Just what the doctor ordered (just kidding, I’m not a doctor, I work at a park). Love it. It's magic.

I was a little hesitant on purchasing this washer. But then I had enough courage to just buy and take a chance. Best decision ever. I have 3 kids so my laundry would get full really fast. This machine cleans 10 x better then and expensive machine out there. It's very easy to use and washes each load min . Your choice. If you live in a condo or apt and tired of leaving the house and spending tons of money. Buy this. Clothes dry better on a Rack I bought from Walmart. Great investment

I’ve had my stove/oven for over 31 years. It has operated properly for the duration. I’ve never had to have it service. The only thing that I would suggest is that the numbers on the dials be raised or etched on. After many washings the paint has worn off. I would recommend this product to others.

It works so well that I can shower and do makeup and my clothes are ready. If I dont have or really just dont want to iron something, I put it in and it comes out good. Clothes are wrinkle free and done quick. You have to use a vac to clean the filter and you dont have to vent unless you want to but it may heat up the room a bit but its cold outside so that great if your doing 2 loads or so but its not too bad. You can get a kit to vent outside a window from amazon. Its not big so that it fits in my small apartment so well. I have a RCA compact washer to go with it. Could not fit my full size washer in this place and dont want to go outside back and forth so boy am I happy.

Glass top electric not easy to learn to use after having a gas stove but it cleans beautifully inside and on the top. I do not care for the surface knobs-dark and hard to read and difficult to replace after cleaning.

I bought a house with a Magic Chef oven MCO160UB. A couple of months ago, I saw smoke curling out from behind the control panel then the oven went dead. I thought Wow! Thats weird. So being an electrical engineer I opened it up to investigate. The power wire to the door switch was fried off. Let me repeat this more clearly: the copper stranding was even burnt apart - like splatter unwelded. So without questioning, I fixed it and feeling pretty good about this minor fix. Then 4 months later, the oven goes south and wont turn on. This could be the door switch? No, the control panel works. But press the start button and oven goes dark, dead. So now I pursue the repair until I get to this site. What a fool I was for replacing the wire. I could have caused an unattended fire. The oven is now off the wall and in the trash. I will purchase from a different manufacturer. Let me state a revelation here: after reading the posts about manufacturer then replace them. Also, I believe these units are not fully tested for operation above ranges. The instructions [recommend] 30. My unit is 24. Not my doing. But still no posters relayed what type of range it sits above, as in what type of heating element. Or better yet is the range a different manufacturer? Stop and think about that. Do you think Magic Chef tested the units above other manufacturers ranges? I think not. Why? All ranges are the same! A stove is a stove. Really? But not all manufacturers are. So that being said, I believe we are victims of NFT (not fully tested). Nuff said.

I have the Magic Chef over the stove microwave #MCO160UW, that starts on its own and wont even pop one bag of popcorn without overheating. Piece of junk that should be recalled. This thing is dangerous!

Paint chipped off inside door and rusted. Rust continues on the inside of the door and inside of the oven there is large dark areas of rust starting under the paint.

After plugging this product in and ensuring that the thermostat/temperature was at middle to high level, we loaded food. We heard it turn on and felt a bit of cold. So, we assumed all was good. NOT! The refrigerator would run for a second or two and then turn off. We did not know this until the next morning when we opened it and all of our food went bad and had to be thrown out. When I contacted the company asking if we could get compensated for the loss of food, I was told no. When I asked if we could get compensated for gas for having to return the product, I was told no. The company had the nerve to say that it would fix the refrigerator under the product warranty to save us gas to bring it back to the store. NOT ONCE DID THE COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE EVEN SAY SORRY, and we had several emails. I will never purchase a Magic Chef product again.

Magic Chef Chest Freezer 6.9 cubic Ft Model HMCF7W2 - I purchased this freezer on October 11, 2015 because it seemed to be an amazing bargain!! Well I learned BUYER BEWARE, not only did my freezer stop working in 65 days but Magic Chef said they do not cover content and if I would have read the manual completely I would know that contents are not covered. Home Depot said even though it is under warranty the only way they would cover the content is if I spent the money to buy an extended warranty.It is amazing that a unit under warranty and less than 90 days old would only totally be covered under warranty if you bought a Home Depot extended warranty!!! I lost over $300 in food! Neither Magic Chef or Home Depot were sympathetic to this outcome! Stay away from this appliance, spend money for a quality unit manufactured by a quality company! Remember Cheap is Cheap.

Our 2009 Puma RV came with a magic chef microwave oven installed. We only use the RV about 3 weeks each summer so this microwave had very little use on it. We woke up in the middle of the night by the sound of a beeper going off. We did not fully realize what was going on until a short time later when I heard the microwave running and jumped out of bed to open the door and turn it off. It started again by itself that afternoon. This was a very frightening experience. It could of set the camper on fire. I want to warn others who may have travel trailers with this microwave.

Item arrived without any sort of damage. Once out the box, it's not too heavy. It is small and easy to carry. I set it up outside on my lanai on a stand. Works great. Not noisy at all. Does take a bit longer than regular sized dryers, but great for what I need it for. It actually holds a good amount of clothes. I think it's a great buy and would recommend it.

I had a Magic Chef Microwave oven that was purchased seven months ago that started to get very loud and you could see that it was then fan through the back vents. It had become off balance. Magic Chef service rep was very rude and told me that I had to drive an hour and five minutes to the nearest repair shop to drop it off to be fixed. It would be cheaper to buy a new one than to drive to Orlando twice.

I have the same problem with the Magic Chef (Mode: MCO160UB) over the range microwave oven that others have been having. I purchased it at Home Depot and they were of no assistance. When I use it, there is a burning electrical wire smell. It started having problems just after the one-year manufacturers warranty had expired. If there is a recall, please let me know.

My Magic Chef over-the-range microwave caught on fire while in the timer mode. I was cooking on the stove below and set the timer on the microwave as I normally do. No food was inside the microwave. Then after a few minutes the microwave automatically activated into VENT FAN mode by itself, which usually does happen from heat from the stovetop. In the manual this is a normal safety function to cool down the microwave from the heat from the stovetop. I soon began to smell something burning. I opened the microwave and there were flames inside. I ran & shut the circuit breaker off and my husband was able to put out the flames. The glass turntable was shattered & burnt; the rubber gasket was on fire and the bottom of the inside of the microwave was burnt & charred. Good thing I was in the house when this happened. Otherwise the fire would have spread throughout the kitchen & possibly burning down the house. Very scary incident.

I purchased a Magic Chef deep freezer model HMCF7W2 from Home Depot. After 1 year and 2 months this freezer stopped working and left all my meat rotten. I called Magic Chef about this and they were no help. Im so disappointed and will never buy anything from Magic Chef again. Wasted my money on this cheap piece of junk and bad customer service.

I purchased the Magic Chef 5.2 chest freezer a year ago model HMCF5W2. This is a HORRIBLE product. Not only did it stop working in less than a year. The customer service department offered minimal help in trying to rectify the situation. Granted it is only a $200 freezer, but lasting less than a year is totally a ripoff. The customer service agent offered to send a repairman to look at the freezer, but stated they are only responsible for the compressor and I would be responsible for the labor. Again, a $200 freezer, labor would have been well over that. I cannot express enough how disappointed I am in this product. Not only did I lose money on buying it. I lost the total cost of the food that was inside it. BUYER BEWARE.

This freezer really fits the bill. I have it in a storage building with little insulation and it has run perfectly summer and winter...just the right size as well and with the sliding baskets it holds more than it looks.

Magic Chef microwave oven, model MCO160UB. It turns on by itself at random times during the day; the keypad is unresponsive, the unit beeps to show 3.5g, then it beeps to show cooking for 1:40 minutes. The first time it happened under warranty and I replaced the whole unit. Now this second unit is doing the same thing, so I keep it turned off for safety.I replaced the control panel behind the keypad, part PKMPMSF200, but the problem was not fixed. Not sure what else to fix. Calling customer service has not solved the issue either.

Hi. I purchased this deep chest freezer 3 years ago and its completely stopped working. I called customer service to see if they will honor their product and not only were they rude but they want me to jump through all of these hoops to spend even more money and they back a 5 year warranty on the COMPRESSOR ONLY. So if it happens to not be the compressor theyve just made me pay for labor and parts on something that shouldnt just be breaking within 3 years for no reason! So IRATE. I work hard for my money and I will not be spending 1 more cent on their products. CHEAP PRODUCTS AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER APPRECIATION!!!

Ive had my freezer for several years. Its the best appliance Ive ever owned. Weve never had to have it serviced not once. The downside for me its too large for us now the boys are grown and I havent found one like it smaller. But we love this freezer.

I purchased this along with a washer and dryer stand for my college student that hated using the laundry mat, and finding time to go there. It also gives the parent a sense of reassurance that your child is not going to the laundry mat at all hours of the night, and they are saving money and time having their own unit. This dryer and the other things are wonderful for the individual that lives in a small apartment; dorm room; or small house. It dries your clothes fast and evenly. One thing you will need with this dyer is an indoor vent.

I have recently purchased your countertop ice maker. Though it does produce ice quickly, it is the noisiest machine in my house. I enjoy living in my camper, and this product is exactly what I need due to only having a very small fridge and freezer. My major complaint is that it is very noisy. You can hear motors running and pumps running. Sometimes theyre so loud, Ill have to turn up my tv. The product is great but sure could use some improvements.

Model MCD1311ST microwave oven - Spotty heating performance. Repairman fixed it and after less than a year, the same problem is back.

First and foremost I must say this machine is whisper quiet. Put it in an adjacent room & close the door, you can barely hear it. So far, all loads dry in 1 hour or less. Essentially the only complaint I have about this unit is that you cannot hear when the laundry load is done drying. This appliance is about the size of an old 20" CRT TV set which is perfect for apartments, dorm rooms even RVs! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a compact dryer.

We purchase our Magic Chef NCD1311ST microwave oven in November of 2014. Within a few months, it was having heating issues - not heating in the middle. You had to place things off centered for them to heat. This week (July of 2015) the microwave shot sparks during heating. After we took the food out, a few minutes later we smelled an electrical fire and looked and it was smoking. This is day 3 now waiting on Magic Chef to tell me where to take it for repair. From what I have been reading, I dont want it repaired, even though that is my only option. These appliances are going to hurt someone or burn a house down. This company has horrible customer service.

Was in my newly purchased home when I moved in. I had never had a Magic Chef range before now and I normally do not like gas ANYTHING, however, I Love and adore this white one. Its so clean, easy to clean, and fast cooking. I especially like that I can easily ascertain the instruction dials, very user friendly. Setting and preheating the oven is a breeze because with some ovens you cant really tell if it the clock dial or when the preset of off or has even started!! I can quickly cook my large turkey and pies. I also love that its American made. I will most definitely look for another Magic Chef range if this one ever gives out or if I happen to relocate. I believe that last family used it for about 20 years, however, it doesnt look like it. I have never had to call for service or any kind of repairs. I definitely recommend this range!!! Happy Home!.

I bought a Magic Chef microwave over the range (Model: MCO160ub). We used it for about 10 times and it would start by itself. We were afraid to use it but it was a pain to take it down so we just left it in a place as a decoration. We rarely used it. Finally, after two years, it just shut down like it had been unplugged. It is still there on top of my stove.
