We had our Amana fridge freezer fitted in January 2009. After 6 years and 6 months this appliance has broken down and is unrepairable. We paid £3,800.00 for the fridge, and would have expected at least 10 years service from it, as we have had 10/12 years service from fridges that we have paid a fraction of this cost for. We have contacted Whirlpool, who manufactured the fridge, and have had a very unsatisfactory response so far. We are still fighting our case, and we are prepared to take this all the way, to make sure that no-one else buys an Amana product. If we had been advised that the expected lifespan of this appliance was so short and would be unrepairable, we would never have bought it.

I bought the set at Menards April 2016. The washer is absolutely awful. It never gets the clothes clean, never! It never has enough water in it no matter what setting I have it on no matter how big or small the load. You cant leave the lid open for a pre soak or it resets itself. Ive tried all the recommended steps Amana added to the instructions. Im so disappointed. I will never buy an Amana or Maytag product again. Yesterday I went to take clothes out of the dryer and I havent had an issue with the dryer until I pulled the door open and the handle on the dryer broke.I felt when I was making this purchase that Amana was a trusted brand. So I didnt listen to my feelings and I bought this product anyway. Money dont come easy for me so Im stuck using this monster that dont get whites, white and wont fill with water according to my load. All the complaints on this website are true. I wished I had of looked first. Dont buy this set people. Model # NTW4605EW0. Youll be wasting your money and frustrated like my family. Youll know us by the dingy whites.

I purchased an Amana stainless steel refrigerator with freezer drawer on bottom in December 2010 for $1,200. Just five months past, the 12-month warranty freezer defroster stopped functioning and water would pour out from freezer all over kitchen floor. Repair cost $250 to install a heater rod that the repair company (REO Appliance in Norwalk, CT, where we purchased the product) told us used to be installed in the units by Amana at the factory but chose to stop using them to save money. The heater rod cost $20. The rest of the cost was for the service call and labor. Amana refused to refund our money. The unit is expensive and obviously faulty from the way it is manufactured, but Amana refuses to make good on it. They apparently believe once you are past the 12-month warranty, you are on your own. We will never buy Amana again. The stuff is junk.

I purchased an electrical oven from Buddys Appliances - something went wrong and they replaced it with the Amana Electric Oven. I had troubles with it the entire time Ive had it, and noticed whenever I put it on self clean it did a horrible burning smell and would smoke out the house - something awful. So after cooking dinner I put it on self clean and it did the usual, I didnt think much of it till I noticed the inside of my oven was in flames. Lucky my son-in-law and his friend pulled it out of the house, I couldnt put it out myself being that it went on to self lock. It was so hot the boys burned themselves pretty bad by trying to get it out of the house. Im waiting to hear back from both companies Amana and the store I purchased it from, this happened on 30 minutes ago, I just thought this could help others.

I call the company and they replace the computer, now 6 month later all the paint was rust and peeling. It does not have a liquid fabric softener dispenser and the bleach dispenser has spotted some of my dark clothing. The washer washes small to extra large loads also delicate. I purchased a new Amana stove for a rental property in GA at the beginning of Sept. It has NEVER worked. When I called they said they could only speak to the tenant, when she called it was past the 48 hours of delivery and since I didn’t get the warranty they would have someone come out and repair it... ok fine. The company was a no-show and no call twice. Then I get a letter from the GA housing authority that I am required to have a working stove within two days. I was forced to purchase a second stove for the renting family. I called and called Amana to pick up the useless stove and credit my account. They were extremely rude on the phone and refused to take it back. Not when I call the new repair company told me it would be fixed the day after Thanksgiving, following up today they now say the part is on backorder until next month. This will be three months now that I purchased the stove and fortunately am paying zero interest on through HD. I cannot believe the lack of customer service with Amana. I will NEVER EVER do any business with them again!!!

Not even 2 months ago, I bought an Amana Washer and Dryer at Lowe’s Sudbury Ontario. Five days ago the washer pump is running constantly and does not complete the cycle. I called customer service on Thursday December 4th 2014 and was told that the technician will come on Monday Dec 8th between 8am and 4pm. Since they did not give me a specific time, I have had to take a vacation day from my work. Monday morning I had a message on my voice mail that they had overbooked appointments for repair and they could not make it on Monday. I called customer service again and ask why suddenly the repair technicians were overbooked when I made an appointment through Amana 4 days prior. I was told they were sorry, but they could not do anything about it. The only thing they could do was to book another appointment for Thursday December11th, between 8 am and 4 pm. This means taking another vacation day to be at home, waiting and hoping they will not cancel again. It is not only that Amana is selling a washer that is broken after 6 weeks, but they are contracting to repair companies that are not reliable. Like always, the company is good till some problems occurs, then you see their true colors. If I could return the product, I would, but because the warranty to return a product is only 30 days, I am stuck with this washer and most importantly unreliable service department. I would never recommend this product to anyone. Not pleased at all!!!!DEC. 19, 2014 UPDATE: Today we are December 18, 2014 - 3 weeks after my first call to customer service of Amana. Finally the technician came today with the part. I was relieved that the problem would be solved finally. No such luck, the part the technician brought was the wrong one. He said that they had ordered the right part, but the company send them the wrong one. I called the customer service of Amana again, and ask for an explanation. They told me that mistakes happens. When I try to make the order for the right part, I was told that the part I need is back order, and it could take a couple of weeks or more to be delivered. I contacted Lowes in Sudbury ON, where I bought the Amana washer and dryer, looking for some solution, but the salesperson at Lowes told me that they cannot do anything to help me, because after 30 days, my chance to return the product had expired. There was nothing they could do, but it was up to me to contact Amana customer service. Over the years, I upgraded my appliances a couple of times, but never ever experienced such a crappy product and a lousy customer service like Amana. I cannot understand why a store like Lowes would be selling such junk. Now Christmas and New Year is coming and I have to go to the Laundromat. Because I live in a small village, the closest Laundromat is a 30 minutes drive. I have to go through all this aggravation, when I have a 2 months old new Amana washer in my basement, that does not work! Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all... and There will be a Part 3.

Right after the manufacturer’s warranty of exactly 2 years expired, our A
Right after the manufacturer’s warranty of exactly 2 years expired, our Amana Refrigerator broke before the end of the following year. Oh, did I mention we bought it brand new from the showroom floor at Home Depot in Hilo, Hawaii? Now it runs all the time on the freezer side and the refrigerator side does not get cold at all. Ice forms in the rectangle box that is located inside the refrigerator section and no cold air from the “run always” freezer-side comes into the refrigerator. That poor design is how it is supposed to keep your refrigerated food cold. Poor design. What isnt, these days? So here we are, spent $800 for this thing and it has lasted 2 years. Now I have to spend $300 to get it fixed. Meanwhile, until we can just come up with an extra $300 to do that, we have to rent a refrigerator - another $68 a month. Now, isnt this fun? On top of that, it was evidently not working properly for about 2 months until one day I began vomiting from bad food. Not fun either. So what is a consumer to do? We are at the mercy of cheaply made and poorly designed shoddy craftsmanship and materials made by companies that just dont give a you know what anymore. They only want to make more profits out of greed and screw the consumer. They know you need these products so they can literally get away with doing whatever they want. I wonder if any really great person is going to once again build the real McCoy of Wash Machines and Refrigerators that are built to last and do! It can be done, it is just not being done and no one seems to care. Have we become so apathetic to accept this in our lives that we are the sheep they speak of? There are no choices. Oh, you think because something is stainless steel and looks pretty and shiny it is good quality? Stainless steel is only on the outside! Underneath, it still rusts! We live by the ocean in Hawaii where things are not hermetically sealed like on the mainland where houses are all closed up and furnaces run all day and night. And the Stainless steel here still rusts and they tell you right away that rust is not included in any warranty! Oh, let’s see who is Amana made by? Whirlpool I think and I am not surprised.Remember in the old days when all the washers at laundry mats were Whirlpools and they worked? Well, dont buy one these days. See my post on the one we just got! For people who say, Well, just buy the warranties they sell when you buy the item.” Yeah, and so you really are spending an additional $300 for the product, which will then last 3 more years from the day you bought it. Who is getting screwed here? - The customer either way. Remember when you bought an appliance and had it the whole time you lived in your house? Remember the Maytag repairman? And did you know your icemaker is not included in your warranty? Nope, you just have to pay for that - an additional $300-$400. Is everyone just going to roll over and accept buying a major appliance for $800 and having it last 2 years?

Dryer spews lint out from around the lint trap door. It has since we bought it and has progressively gotten worse. The lint trap door is on the top of the dryer. Whole house ends with a layer of dust every time laundry is done. Laundry room gets a nice layer of lint in it as well. Since this is a gas dryer, I have concerns about this being a fire hazard. Didnt fully appreciate the quantity of lint being spewed until after warrant was expired. Didnt contact company due to this, but it has been this way since it was delivered, just has gotten worse.

My wife and I bought this Amana washing machine & dryer as a set from Best Buy in Green Bay, Wisconsin, little over two years ago as a Christmas present from me & Linda, to myself & Linda. Just last week (2/9/2016), the wife was doing some laundry. When she closed the door it wouldnt lock, so the machine couldnt start its washing cycle. She asked me to come down. I looked at it, unplugged it, and waited a few minutes, thinking that it would reset itself. I plugged it back in and had the same issue. I turned the dial and there was a huge light, followed by the tell-tale noise of electrical components arching. Then there was a flash of light (from the back of the control panel, followed by a cute little mushroom cloud). I called Best Buy and informed them of what had happened. They said that there wasnt much they could do then transferred me to the customer service manager. She gave me the customer service number to Amana. Upon calling them, I had the feeling like I was bothering them (cold shoulder routine). Like the other complainant stated, Amana has been around for years, figured it was a solid, dependable product. Obviously, it isnt - quantity, not any quality anymore!!! After what seemed like an hour had passed, I finally hung up. Totally disgusted & frustrated with my experience. We both feel like we have been duped. My advice, DO NOT BUY ANY AMANA PRODUCT WHATSOEVER!!! Thanks Amana for nothing. I will not recommend your product to ANYONE!!! Pull your heads out of your **!!! Mr. & Mrs. pissed off in the beautiful far Northwoods of Wisconsin.

Bought a Baking element for my stove. Over a month to receive. Call a service tech to install to find out that I did not need to replace it on my stove. I called Amana customer service to find out how to return the brand new part. I was told to send back in same box with a return authorization that would be emailed to me. I went to the post office and mailed per the instructions given to me but instead of it costing me the same $7.95 that Amana paid to ship to me, I was charged $29.15!!!! My entire refund is only $51.63 so half of my refund is being absorbed in returning because Amana will not provide a return label!!In the end my refund will equal half of the $47.00 price of the part alone???? When I called the parts department customer service they smugly advised, Well you have to return in our box but you could have shopped around for the best shipping rate???? This is a scam and why Amana/Whirlpool is going down in flames! Cheap shots like this to innocent customers who have been loyal to their brand for years. When you ask for a manager the customer service people lie to you and tell you they are the manager and no one else is there but them??? Does not sound like a manager????

New Amana fridge in June of 08: The ice-maker broke in November and was fix
New Amana fridge in June of 08: The ice-maker broke in November and was fixed under warranty. 6 months later (still in warranty), it stops working, but only occasionally. Stupid me should have gotten it fixed again, but it wasnt that bad. When it broke for good, the flimsy 1-year warranty (really, people?) had just ended, though it was less than a year since the first problem. I called Amana - they refused to help. I decided this was just wrong, and called to complain. After 35 minutes on hold, I got an agent who was so rude I decided to complain about her. The problem was, she refused to even give her name! I submitted this entire story on the web-based customer service portal. Weeks went by and I received no response, except I did get a solicitation in the mail to buy an extended warranty! So, my miserable customer experience is viewed by Amana as a marketing opportunity! I have read many others say the same thing. It’s shocking how American customer service values have eroded. Finally, I got their social media person over Twitter. He looked into it and refused to help. I could tell it was because he has no power to deviate from their script. Amana has it baked into their corporate culture to treat customer misery as an opportunity to make money.

Amana NTW4516FW3: Worst of all, it agitates as it fills!!! WHY??? WHY would it DO this???!!! This tears up your cloths!!! I have to wait till it fills, THEN put in my cloths. Limited control of water: It is supposed to auto sense but it runs in too little for some loads (I can switch it over to deep fill until the correct amount of water runs in) and WASTES MY WATER AND DETERGENT running TOO MUCH water for smaller loads; no way to stop it! Nothing you can do about it!!! :( It only RINSES on COLD! :( So I have to CANCEL the wash cycle before it rinses, and set it back on the wash cycle in order to rinse in warm or hot water!!!! :( Then I have to take out all the wet cloths until it fills or it will tear them up agitating as it fills!!!! :( Then I cancel the cycle AGAIN, and set it to a spin setting after if rinses, as this is the fastest. (The spin it would normally do on the wash cycle is slower and shorter... cloths too wet when done.) TRIED TO CALL AMANA AND ASK WHY THE WASHER AGITATES WITH ONE OR TWO INCHES OF WATER IN IT AS IT FILLS!!!! They were abrupt and could offer no way I could contact or address the engineers who make this washer.

Im attaching a hose because I have a laundry tub and adding water. If you dont have a tub, you may want to find a machine that has something called large load or something. I recently moved into a new apartment and the washer and dryer had already been used by the previous tenants. I used the washer with a small load on a cold cycle, and when the load was finished, my clothes were still DRY! Some of the clothes had wet spots but for the most part, my clothes looked like someone just splashed water on them. I had to redo the cycle on a larger load setting. My clothes came out FULL of someone elses lint. The dryer. Ohhh, the dryer. I then place my linty clothes in the dryer to see if they will be removed. I do a full 60 minute cycle. I open up the dryer when it is finished and my load is warm, but still damp! After 60 minutes on hot! I have to run the dryer 4 TIMES to dry a load of laundry. I bought an Amana frontloader (Model #NFW7200TW) 4 years ago at Home Depot. Machine stopped draining and started showing error code (nd = not draining). I called a repairman, and he diagnosed the problem as a bad relay for the pump. He said because the relay was encased in resin on the back of the control panel, I would have to buy a new panel. Later, when he called me to give the part number, he said that the part was on a nationwide backorder and would be $400.00 when it became available on 10/15. I did some checking online and found that the part W10273828 is in fact on back order and no one has one. It seems that this means that this part is a definite weak link, and this model should be recalled. On this site, there are several posts with the same problem.

We bought the Amana washer and dryer 8 months ago. We were very pleased at first as to how silent the washer was. Then we started to notice that the washer was taking longer than usual to wash a regular load of clothes. I didn’t think anything of it until it started making the worst noise I have ever heard, it sounded like the drum was going to come out of the whole shell. I called ABC Warehouse where we bought the set and they told us that it was under manufacturers warranty and to call the warranty service. I called and they set us an appointment for the service repair center, which is Lewis Appliance in my area, which these people are worthless. He came in and lay on the floor and did some things to it with a machine and told me that they had to order the part and it should only be a week or two but I could use it in the meantime. It has been a month and a half and I am still waiting to get it fixed and it is still beating itself to death worse than ever. I called Whirlpool today and got into a screaming match with the customer service department and then the supervisor, to no avail. I told them its beating itself to death. They told me that if anything else breaks on it then they would continue to fix it until it is pretty much no longer repairable. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS. THEY ARE JUNK!!!

I bought an Amana stove 2 years ago. It has been in service 5 times within the last year. The temperature control board keeps messing up. Called customer service. They said to reset it. Which I had to do 3 times and still couldnt finish making dinner. It was last fixed in November and its out again. They really dont care. Told me buy extra warranty for 400$. REALLY!!! Lets just say my response was not nice. I told them since they didnt care I would let people know about my bad experience and terrible product, she hung up on me. Now I have a useless stove because it cost just as much to fix it than what I paid for it. I would never recommend this company or product to anyone.

One they do not stand behind their products. I have been delivered an Amana washer that the sensing device does not work in it. Did not even agitate to wash the clothes and it is actually had to be turned off and turn back on to get the water out to get my clothes out. I called the company and they do not stand behind their products at all and they dont care that it will be another 4 weeks before I get another washer and I certainly will never want another Amana washer.

Two years ago my washing machine died. I bought it used and had it for 17 years. Out of necessity, I purchased the Amana top load he washing machine. It does a terrible job cleaning the clothes and now makes a metal on metal grinding noise when agitating. On my old machine I replaced the clutch in the transmission by myself (6 years before it finally died, Im female and now 50+ yrs. old), on this new Amana, I cant even get the agitator off to even begin diagnosing the problem. My next machine will be an old wringer washer. Im tired of everything being designed to fail so you have to replace it. Amana will never have a place in my home again, not a single product.

And today (9/2011), I was told that I need my THIRD Control Board ($300) replace again. I got no help from my local retailer or Amana. I will never buy this junk again. Seven year old expensive Amana refrigerator had extended service for five years now. Two calls in five years - total expense of $500. Service call a few weeks ago resulted in tech telling us no problem with freezer/fridge even though we experienced both were not cold. August 8, appliance not working at all, water all over the kitchen and everything in the freezer ruined. Call for appointment - because this is an emergency they will send someone out August 21. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have wasted $500 plus the expense of the appliance. Never will I do that again and would not recommend either the appliance and for sure no recommendation on the warranty. The customer service rep was very nice, ineffective but pleasant.

I purchased an Amana Washer on 2/13/2015 from a dealer in appliances here in Oldsmar, FL. I bought this Washer and Dryer due to the fact these items were Made in America. The paint on inside of the top lid of the washer is chipping off, peeling off, etc. and some of these flakes of paint drop into the washer on my clothes and only will only get worse with time. I called Amana and since I did not like what the sales rep said I asked for a supervisor which stated to me that he could not help me to replace the top piece of the washer. He could only send me a bottle of touch up paint. This guy also needs to send me a large brush with a quart of paint! This washer is only a little over 3 years old and should not be peeling like it is. Not like a bunch of people use this washer as it is being used by 2 adults. No abuse or rough treatment on this appliance. Lousy paint job! Where was the inspector for the painting of this washer? Not doing his job most likely because if he had done a half-way decent inspection he would have noticed the bad paint job. The sample bottle would not cover the areas without paint. I cannot believe that this was made in America as some 3rd world country would do a much better paint job. Dryer is OK but washer a mess. I will never buy a Made in America washer or dryer again. The foreign appliances will be on my list to purchase from now on especially since these manufacturers in the US make these defective items and charge you many dollars for junk. Never will recommend Amana to anyone for anything as they do not stand behind their work.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. We bought it in May of 2014 and to my dismay found that it did not fill on the rinse cycle. My clothes always had soap residue left on them. I read the manuals carefully and it did indicate that when manually adding softener, to let the rinse tub fill. It never did. We called the repairman who re-calibrated it, so supposedly it would work properly. He no sooner left when the red lock lid button started blinking. It was off-cycle again. It still does not fill. I have to go to another rinse drain cycle to rinse my clothes. My advice to anyone...DO NOT BUY AN AMANA WASHER, THEY ARE JUNK!!!

I had originally chosen another brand, but the sales clerk told me that the Amana would last longer than the one I had chosen. What she did not tell me was that the control panel would not last one year. A couple of cycles, it stopped working early on, but being I didnt use those much I thought I would see what happened. Then it stopped working altogether. I called Home Depot and was told that being it was over one year they could not do anything about it. I will never waste my money on Amana products again.

Now, we still have the error code 3e, which was supposed to be for the motor pop up again on September 3rd and I had to put in a fifth service. This is the worst appliance I have ever bought. MOD:NTW4605EW0 Type: 587-20 - This product is the worst I have ever used. My Husband and I are in our late 50 on a fixed income and recent stem cell survivor. We had to save for this for months to buy this washer. Now knowing it would not have been the top of the line, you still have a reasonable expectation that your laundry will be cleaned. Thats not the case with this washer. I have taken items out of the washer that never hit water, and still soiled. You cant make any adjustment to the water level, the agitator is very ineffective and sound as the whole thing is a strain to do a basic task. I have bought Amana in the past and had no regrets until now. That is unacceptable for misleading the public that this is a washer. It truly just an oversize hamper. If this sounds like I am not happy with this product. Then sorry to say YES I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT! When you pay $250-$300 you expect it to at the very least to clean your laundry!

???? Amana Whirlpool Whirlpool Customer Care Center. The whole 4 MONTH experience to have our fridge replaced has been a joke. We have had 4 service technicians come out in order to decide we need the whole refrigerator replaced. Then it couldnt be shipped out for a whole month. Now it was supposed to be delivered today June 5th 2020 between 1:30-5:30pm. Only to be told that J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Couldnt deliver it when they scheduled to because the driver ran out of hours, not blaming the driver. I blame the company for putting too many on the load so it couldnt be delivered on a 3 day ahead scheduled appointment. It absolutely should not take 4 freaking months to get a refrigerator much less during COVID-19 putting my family in more Danger to have to go to the store more for our needs for a family of 6. Not to mention both my husband and daugthers medications have to be kept cold. THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH A WARRANTY ISSUE. I personally expected better from every company list because we have had issues with each department leading up to not have a working refrigerator for 4 months.. After two years the washer started to sound like a jetliner taking off. I called Maytag and it would cost over $400.00 to repair. Until then I will stick with the Amana which is made by the same company. How funny.

Bought this on 5/1/2018, was delivered 5/8/2018. Called service because of how wet things were and dishwasher walls were extremely wet. First repairman said there was nothing wrong. That was replaced on 5/24/2018 and I am still having issues with wet dishes and very wet walls when the cycle is done. I have had other dishwashers and none of them were wet when done. I think I got a lemon and have been trying to get the company to give me a replacement, even if I have to spend a bit more money. I am disgusted with the performance of this Amana product and would never recommend it to anyone.Updated on 06/15/2018: So disgusted with my new Amana dishwasher. After calling and having repairmen out 4 times I was told nothing more can be done. The is fact that my dishes and silverware have to hand dried after the cycle is done and the interior of the dishwasher is very wet. The last repairman told me its because of the thin plastic that is used and the heat is not as high is the problem. He said that after it is used for a while the walls will become seasoned. What a bunch of crap. My old dishwasher had a plastic interior and I never had to dry anything. I am so sorry I bought this dishwasher. I will never recommend Amana to anyone. I would like to dump this piece of junk on your doorstep. I have sent other emails on my problem to which I never got a response. Ignore me and I still will not go away.

After moving in to a new home and seeing a brand new stove installed, I was excited to get cooking. I noticed that the stove grates were bent from the middle (the grates are long and the front burner and back burner are connected on the same grate). I didnt think this would be an issue because maybe the pans/pots I use would be heavy enough to compress the grates down. I was wrong to think that and the pots/pans will slide when put on the grates because of how they are angled. I have spilled a full pan of oil (luckily not heated to a dangerous temp yet) when the pan was placed squarely in the middle of the burner and it just slid forward and off the stove top.Amana was called to try and get replacements for the brand new appliance but they told us that the bend in the grates is on purpose and they will not be fixing the danger their appliance puts us in. I now can only use the back burners (one of which is very small) or I run the risk of hurting myself with hot falling pots and pans. They are confident this is normal and are fine with the dangers. Do not buy from Amana as they will sell you a dangerous product.

I currently own an Amana French door refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. I have had these products for a little over a year and the warranty on these products is a year. Recently, my Amana dishwasher model # ADB1500AWS3 panel went out. I have used this product about 20 times. I contacted Amana customer service and they said that even though the warranty expired, they would cover the part and I would have to pay for service and labor. With that understanding, I arranged service on the dishwasher. The repair guy replaced the part for $150.00 and I got a total bill for $243.00 for service, labor, and part. I contacted Amana to ask them what the next step was to get reimbursed for the $150.00. Well long story short, Amana backed out of their word and said that they were not going to cover the part now, even though a supervisor orally agreed to cover the cost of the part. Customer service states the stove is too dangerous to continue to operate and would not send me a replacement glass. I spoke to the Customer service manager whom was more irate than her subordinate and she kept repeating and stating she has a stove with 4 boys and hers is fine and never broke and it is 5 years old. I informed her the glass looked thin in this area and she stated because it is not under warranty she did not want to see the glass which should be examined and reviewed for product safety observation. She refused to help me and only documented that if I continue to use it she will be putting this information into my computer complaint record. The customer service manager actually hung up on me and would not allow me to speak to her supervisor and stated call the store where I purchased it from.

I was given an expensive (about $300/$400) Amana microwave last year. One year and one day exactly, it just quit. It wouldnt work, nothing. My daughter called the repair and they said theyd send out a repairman. He called to confirm the appointment and the first words were, Will this be credit, check or cash? I called the Amana company and they told me the cost would be $129 for the man to come to the house and diagnose the problem. Anything else would be extra as the warranty had expired (one day before the machine stopped working). For less than the service call, we got another brand of microwave that works just as well. If it goes out in a year, it will still be cheaper than anything Amana offers. To top this whole mess off, yesterday, about a month after the equipment failure, I got a standard form letter from Amana urging me to buy an extended warranty and the basic one year was about $60. This would have done me no good as the microwave was already broken and out of warranty. I sent a letter last night to the Amana customer service. I got another canned reply today about how good the warranty was and how sorry they were, but they couldnt apply any warranty to the old one because it had lapsed. This is an outrageous example of the planned obsolescence now in use. Amana used to be a top company up there with Maytag. My first microwave was an Amana Radarange. I bought it when they first came out and it lasted about 10 years. Now, this piece of junk that was expensive to begin with only lasted one year and one day. Amana should offer a complete refund to customers that have these problems. Ill never buy Amana again. And since Amana is now owned by Whirlpool/Maytag, Ill probably never buy them again either. How sad that American quality has gone down the drain just so the big companies can get richer at our expense.

And this thing has been doing this straight out of the box!! Dont buy Amana!!! Very disappointed from Cottonwood, Alabama!

I purchased an Amana refrigerator with bottom freezer about 4 years ago. Recently noticed water leaking from under the freezer onto the laminate floor. Upon further investigation noticed ice build up on the floor of the freezer. The lower basket would scrape on the ice as the door basket was pulled out. Checked out the problem on the internet and noticed a number of similar complaints. At that point assumed maybe there was a recall for a certain part causing the problem. Called the store where I purchased the appliance and a repairman was out within a day. He was knowledgeable and knew what the problem was. It appears to be fairly common. The replacement part has been fixed to remedy the problem. Because this is what I was told, I inquired about a possible recall. I was told that the part had been modified since I purchased my refrigerator. If the part has been changed or modified then it seems Amana is aware of the problem. The part is a drain tube. The cost to me including labor was almost $200.00. I felt that Amana should cover the cost as there are a number of complaints about this issue. The serviceman suggested I call Amana so I did. Even though the representatives were nice and professional they offered no resolution or satisfaction to my complaint. I spoke with a supervisor too. I fully explained my reason for calling and my dissatisfaction with Amana but really felt that they could care less. I stated that they would lose me as a customer if they could not stand behind their product especially knowing this was not a new problem. I guess customer satisfaction doesnt count for much today. Too bad but that is the last Amana product I will buy.

Purchased a Washer and Dryer from the NEX online back May. The dryer had issues of turning itself off. It would stay on unless someone opened the door or turned it off. I thought it was the times and purchase another one for $83. Now the dryer has stopped working all together, no wonder this brand has cheap prices. BEWARE. Do NOT purchase Amana products!

In July or 2015 I purchased a side by side ref from a small dealership. The ref was delivered 1st part of Aug. Called dealer a few days later stating ref was not working properly - wasnt making enough ice and cubes were small. Dealer came out and adjusted ice maker. Called back few days later requesting my money back. Still having issues with ice maker and ref was sweating and dripping moisture on panel between ref and freezer. He came out again said a cardboard panel had to be replaced in back of ref. Also stated getting my money back was not an option as he was not going to be stuck with a used ref. When he returned with cardboard panel he found out that they had sent wrong replacement part. After that he would no longer come out and refused to take my calls. So I began calling Amana direct. I first asked for my money back since the ref was less than 30 days old when I started having trouble. I was told that my warranty only covered repair or replacement. They arranged for a repairman to come out.In Sept. the ref was deemed unrepairable and a replacement was ordered and arrived Oct. 8. Within a week or so I was again calling Amana. This ref was not cooling properly. Ice was forming on inside wall of freezer and ref compartment was too warm. To keep this from going on forever let me say 2 repair companies and at least 8 repair trips later this 4 month old ref is still not working. One person from Amana suggested that I just keep my food in another ref. All the other representatives sympathized with me and called to schedule a repair appt. All I can say is that this ref is poorly designed and Amana Makes JUNK. I will never buy another Amana product and I am sorry I paid cash for this one.

I purchased a washer March 2013 and November 2014 it wont even start. The plug and socket was checked and they are working. So now close to Christmas I have to purchase a new washer. This time it will definitely not be an Amana brand. I wish I had read the reviews from others before making this purchase.

We purchased an Amana washing machine. I noticed that there was a bad odor in my utility room that was so strong it even came out in the other parts of the house at times. We had no idea where the odor was coming from. We check the septic system thinking maybe that may be where it was coming from and even had the septic pumped out. Still the odor kept coming and we could not figure out where the odor was coming from. Then we noticed that the water was not draining all the way out of the washing machine. It just sits in there because it does not spin out all of the water. I tried to get repairs done on the machine but they would not do anything because they said my warranty had run out. I am very unhappy with this product.

If it wasnt such a pain to take it back (I brought it home myself) I would return it. I am going to contact Amana and go from there. I am very disappointed.

I have an Amana glass top range and an Amana microwave.. Both appliances the doors have fallen apart in the first two years that Ive owned them. The microwave was manufactured August of 2012. Just after the one year warranty expired the overhead light burned out. After that weve replaced it 4 times this year. The door is literally cracking apart. The range door glass has been falling out and will hit you in the legs if you close it wrong. I am sure that Amana is aware of the problems. They will not stand behind their product.

Amana Gas Range AGR5630BDS - We purchased this range from Home Depot and took delivery in Dec 2014. In October 2016 the oven began to shut down after about 30 minutes cooking time and an F2 code showed in the display. Weve had the service tech here 3 times. An oven temp sensor was replaced but the problem was not solved. We then replaced the top ECR module and still the problem exists. Now however when the oven shuts down there is a spewing of natural gas and we have to manually shut the oven off and throw open a window. We are stuck with a stove that wont work and is unsafe, and we are out of about $300 over the price of the stove. We cannot sell it and are hard pressed to afford a new stove. We called Amana and they had a so what attitude. I know that we will never buy any Amana/Whirlpool product again.

We have an Amana refrigerator model ARB2557CSR. We have had it for 8 years. We have had a few repairs over the years, but last night took the wind out of all of us that witnessed the door fall off the hinge and break the contents that were on the door. If anyones foot would have been in the area, it would had sliced it off or crushed terribly. The door was opened and for unknown reason, dropped off onto our slate floor. If our grandson would have been near, he could have been crushed. I checked the hinges and sprockets, and it still didnt make sense. After reading other remarks about doors in consumer reviews, I am one to be added to the list. This door was one large door, not double door. It was heavy. Please be aware of this defect. I am looking at other models, yet similar malfunctions have occurred that reviews have stated. Really a frightening experience. We will be looking at other models, yet not really confident about any. Hope this helps.

I have had a new top load HE washer now for just a few months and I regret
I have had a new top load HE washer now for just a few months and I regret I ever bought them. List of problems: (1) This will be the 3rd service call in just a few months. (2) NO SOFTENER DISPENSER, what rocket scientist would design a washer without a softener dispenser??? Its not like it would cost anymore to the company! You have to either stop the machine right when it’s filling up for a rinse cycle or...buy a softener ball which stains clothes and does an ineffective job at best! (3) My electric bill has not dropped one penny, do not tell me that these machines are more efficient, thats just politics, so that congress can say they are being more environmentally safe! HE (high efficiency) is not true!!!(4) The washer does a terrible job of cleaning clothes. It does NOT agitate properly, it just winds back and forth a little and makes a weird little noise. My old washer (Kenmore) was a superior product and I wish I had never got rid of it... If you own an Amana top load, just wash your clothes in deep water, so they at least wash better. (5) This is our 3rd service call as I said in the beginning in just a few months, the first 2 service calls were with the dryer and this one is for the washer. The motherboard is bad in the head of the unit. Buyer beware, these are not old time washers that you could open up any time or adjust water levels during the operation or just open up anytime you wanted to add clothes or more soap... No... These are very sensitive electronics that have issues when the washer process is disturbed in any way!!!(6) This is the way you have to treat these washer, pay attention... Open up lid, add soap, put clothes or whatever your washing on sticky soap. Add softener ball if you (unknowingly) bought a washer without a softening dispenser. That was us... Never buy from ad in paper, go see it, who knew washers are now made WITHOUT softener Dispensers!!! Then close lid and set settings from left to right and hit start program button. The reason I said program button (Start) is because these junk washers are now like cyborgs, part computer with junk electronic boards as electronics to control functions and operations of a washer which are just basic. After you do that, do NOT disturb in any way! Otherwise YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS AND REGRET YOU EVER BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF JUNK. Resetting only works so many times when it does have problems. I bought this from a local vendor through a sale paper ad. The vendor is not the problem, this is a Amana Corporate issue. Shame on you Amana, I will never buy a Amana product again... Trying to reinvent the wheel?

First and foremost DO NOT PURCHASE AMANA anything!!! I made that huge mistake when purchasing my oven and bottom freezer refrigerator in 2004. Compressor was dead within 5yrs of purchase. The stove was and is a nightmare!! Of course this stove is no longer made and good luck trying to find parts. This stove retail was approximately 1100.00 middle of the road price but for all the error codes it throws out, it makes one think how dumb was I to even THINK about buying this model or brand!!Replaced two oven sensors, temp regulators now door does not shut correctly therefore heat escapes from oven and get ready because when that happens the timer/clock control board melts!!! Really???!!! AMANA is blind to this and will ignore all of your complaints!!! You might as well just hold a match to your money when it comes to AMANA!! One will have difficulty finding parts for a discontinued model on anything but this is how AMANA conducts business!!! I totally understand with time all things need to be replaced and simply run its course. However, 4 to 5 yrs life expectancy is max on all AMANA anything! Just tell yourself AMANA is no longer being made and save yourself the aggravation.

This was a dishwasher put in by the Seller of a home I was purchasing. I am a single senior who runs a dishwasher maybe every 10 days I would say. After just 2 years, the spray arm quit spraying water. This model only has one spray arm on the bottom. Research tells me its one of two things, pump or motor I think, and either way, I might as well buy a new dishwasher. This to me is totally unacceptable that an appliance would break down in such a short period of time. Do not recommend for this reason. When it worked, it did a fine job on the dishes. But Im a scraper and rinser and never put in pots and pans etc. I just cant recommend throwing $300 down the drain.

Purchased a stand up freezer in fall of 2019, manufactured date on back is June 2019! 4 months after the 1 year warranty date has passed, Ive already replaced the heater coil at a cost of 200.00. For the past 6 months Ive had to empty and defrost the coils at least 5 times! After replacing the coil (which was checked for continuity and failed), I still have issues! So who knows how many other parts are needed to fix the issue. Amana has basically said, Too bad, youre on your own, after condescendingly explaining how to care for my freezer!! Its only the second freezer Ive ever owned, the last one having served me well for more than 15 years, but that wasnt a garbage Amana product!!

I was the lucky one chosen by a bad quality control department to miss the 30-day requirement for defects. They call it a cosmetic issue. My new side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator (matching the range) has a clearly unaligned door, unaligned according to manufacturer specifications. From the top view it looks like the seals are off... One is wider in spots. However they are stating to me that it is a cosmetic issue beyond the 30-day window. And I DO HAVE PHOTOS. For AMANA to not consider this issue for what it is has been unbelievable to me. They wont replace the door... Nothing. Am I mad? I no longer consider them to be a respectable company. They would rather I have it as it is with bad quality control, using a 30-day extreme rule. So I lose.

I was coming down the stairs to get my son a bottle at 6:00 AM and heard a strange noise. As I walked into the living room, it was filled with a foul smelling smoke. I yelled and woke up my father who came running down the stairs. My father unplugged the fridge from the wall and put the fire out. Our slate flooring is burnt, and my son and I had mild smoke inhalation. It has been over a month and we are waiting for parts to cover the repair or they will give us $200 for a new fridge. Our fridge was older but, just like most everyone else, it was the compressor that failed. I think Amana needs to recall their refrigerators and come up with a new design.

In December of 2003, I purchased a drop-in Amana range model #ACS4250. The oven recently abruptly stopped heating. The repairman informs me that the part needed to repair the oven (electronic control #77001240) has been discontinued.Who does that? Who discontinues parts? I called Amana and they helped me immensely. They connected me with the sales department. As if I would be fool enough to buy another product from a company who discontinues a small part that is vital to the operation of one of their major appliances in order to force a customer to replace that appliance. I dont think so.I am an 81-year-old woman who takes extraordinary care of my appliances. This range looks as though it should be on the showroom floor and now it’s junk. The only help I got from Amana was an offer to sell me a new range or a suggestion to call around and try to find someone else who might have that part lying around.By the way, I spent most of the afternoon on the telephone doing exactly that – all to no avail. That part cannot be found. Amana should be ashamed. One of the persons I talked to actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to understand that this is The wave of the future. This is technology.I hung up.My new range will be anything but an Amana – Maytag, Whirlpool – or anything connected to them. They are a disgrace.

In September of 2009, I purchased an Amana refrigerator, model # AFD2535DEB Serial # KY287062. In September of 2011, the crisper draw center rail broke. The draws were not overloaded. We are a two-person adult home with perhaps a daily draw usage. I replaced it with the appropriate part on September 11, 2011. On November 5, 2011, the replacement rail broke in less than two months. The draws were not overloaded. I purchased my first replacement from Appliance Parts Pros. The current one was ordered from a link directly from the Amana web page. On 3/3/12, it has broken again. Each time, this has to be replaced, it cost $25. According to other reports, Amana is not covering the replacement. Are we to believe we must spend $100 a year for the life of the fridge?
