We're happy with the range but the purchase experience was not without difficulties. Immediately after installation, three warranty service calls were necessary due to faulty wiring on the convection fan and broiler ignition failures. The issues were not due to shipping. The stove came with a list of quality control checks but obviously, the factory is hasty in final QC. It's a pity because the build and design are so nice. I am very disappointed with my Viking gas range (2 years old). Although it is quite beautiful, it does not function well. It smells of gas anytime the oven is on at 350 degrees or less. No one will repair it. I have had the gas company out to check on it. They said that the odor is very unfortunate, but it is not leaking enough to be unsafe. I bought a Dacor appliance package for a new custom home which costs over $30K+. Every single piece of appliance is defective. I am OK as long as Dacor can fix or address the issues but it takes them several visits, put the appliance out of order and fixing it does not happen any earlier than 8-10 Weeks. Imagine you living with a fridge, microwave, range and oven for 10+ weeks. The column freezer stops making ice. I call for service and tech informs the lever was jam and he fixed it. Wait 48 hours.After 48 hours still no ice. Another call and after a wait of 3 weeks another visit and diagnose need new part. Wait for part 4+ weeks and another 3+ weeks for replacement. Fridge does not cool and maintains temp 45 degree+. Service tech showed up 3 times and promised it is fixed. Have thrown out thousands of dollars worth food. To date I don't have it fixed. Waiting for a part, tech not available scheduling issues etc. To date I have been out of fridge (8/12/2021) 9 weeks from I made the first call. Currently I have a tech scheduled for 9/1/21.This is not the end. Microwave will run normally and won't heat the food. After several phone call and waiting they figured the door pin was not connecting properly and need parts to fix. After 10+ MONTHS it looks like it is fixed. The range control panel is hanging from underneath and no one seems to care to fix it. Every time I call they tell me it's normal. I believe Dacor has not QA/QC in place prior to shipping the appliances to customer. Worst experience ever. If you need more details do not hesitate to call me on **. I hope you run away from Dacor. Don't even consider this option. I have a track of all phone call and email and timeline with Dacor service. I am planning to file a lawsuit and recoup some of the costs and losses.Nishu of Edison, NJ

This is a fantastic oven stove. It heats up quickly the temperatures are accurate. We especially love The Griddle in the middle for the fifth burner. The convection oven settings and the separate setting to roast meat is a fantastic option. The self-cleaning is a great thing does a pretty thorough job. I purchased a 48" Dacor Epicure stove in October 2010. We moved into our home in November just in time for Thanksgiving. We remodeled the kitchen and the stove is the focal point. When I heated the two ovens, the pre-heat mode stayed on but the ovens went to 600 degrees plus. My oven thermometers only read to 600. That happens every time and the fans stay on for hours. After many service calls, we have determined that the oven is going into a cleaning mode every time and is wired backwards. Dacor is ignoring me.Leslie of Lutz, FL

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. There's one that's super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldn't be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didn't have to pay for a thing. I was blown away.The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges don't come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case people's timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. We did a lot of research online so that’s how we figured out Viking is a good brand name. I like it. We bought a whole set of Viking. We have the fridge, dishwasher, hood, stove, and microwave. I like that the refrigerator makes ice pretty fast because I like to drink something cold. It also has a separate compartment for different sizes like for fruits and vegetables. I also like that I can take everything off to wash it. It’s very easy to clean. But then when we called because the fridge's icemaker was not making ice, I haven’t heard back anything yet. I got it from one of the distribution partners so the date might not be within the warranty. In the end, we read out on my manual and tried to defrost everything and now it works. That means the quality is good, but in the end, they could never resolve anything for us. We just figured out and did everything ourselves.Sharon of Saratoga, CA
