We purchased a Rheem furnace 3 years ago and have problems ever since. It quits every winter. The control panel goes and there is not much you can do. At this time, I have been without heat for five days. We live in Prince George and the temperature was over 30 degrees below. Needless to say, we have been very cold. Fraser did come out right away and determined that the control panel was not working again. The water pipes were freezing and despite our small heaters, we had to call in a restoration company to heat the basement so the pipes wouldn't break at $150.00m call out plus $35.00 per day. It would seem that we have a very inferior product. Our old furnace was 30 years old and we never had any problems. Thirty below is very cold and we have had enough. The parts were supposed to be in yesterday but now we have been told maybe tomorrow. Any advice and how to we get this bad product replaced?

Brought a unit from Goodman on 3/7/17. Installed the unit for my customer on 3/9/17. On 3/11/17 they had to evacuate from their home because of the smell because the heat exchanger is bad. Also the children got sick and the parents got headaches and had them for 3 days. Goodman said they couldn't give us a new heater and the homeowner no longer wants this furnace in their home. They do not want no tech from Goodman at their home. They want to be reimbursed. The Manager Michael ** was the most unsympathetic person I dealt with in my life. Instead of just reimbursing the homeowner he is making it difficult for them. He wants us to pay a tech from Goodman to deem it bad when we purchase the unit not even a week ago. I will never recommend Goodman to any of my customers and homeowners and I have been doing heating for over 25 years and I know what I am talking about. Do not purchase a heater from Goodman. They didn't care about children getting sick and they had the homeowners without heat for 5 days and will not reimburse them with their money. I am appalled they only care about one thing taking money from customers. They didn't try to help at all. You will never see our business again. I also suggest to you Michael ** learn how to be a manager the way you handle this situation is uncalled for.

Had a new Trane heat pump system installed in May of 2013. The system worked well until winter came. My first bill in Dec was $294. My second bill was $387, third bill was $528. I first thought the company that installed the system had underrated the size system I needed, so I called them. They came right out, & discovered the filter drier had not been installed properly & I was told it was a factory defect. I called Trane & attempted to get them to pay me for my loss due to their factor to stalled defective filter drier. After being in contact with 3 different customer care personnel & sending them previous years' bills, I was told they don't pay customers heat bills. After several communications back & forth. They told me they would send me a check for $200. I responded that I wasn't looking for welfare & evidently they needed money more than I did. After that, I sent 2 emails to the CEO of the heat pump division with absolutely no response. I have used Trane systems for 20+ yrs because of their quality, but evidently their responsibility ends with repair of the defect. They assume no responsibility for cost incurred by the consumer. The people who sold me the unit & repaired the unit were great. I can't say the same for the producers of the unit!

Ours is a 2010 Goodman heat pump. We were never told we needed to register it so now we have no warranty at all. We just paid $1475 to replace the compressor and now the motor on the fan has gone out. I am not happy at all. The same company who installed it are doing the repairs.

Consumer's Original Complaint: No resolution for: Brand new installed on 20 Aug 2020, Trane FURNACE (Model# S8X1C100M5PSABA) (Serial# **) making unacceptable unhealthy noise. We have a Brand New - installed on 20 Aug 2020 - Trane FURNACE (Model# S8X1C100M5PSABA) (Serial# **) making unacceptable unhealthy noise from the Blower Motor and Wheel. Unresolved Trane Corp Customer Complaint Case # **.We contacted the Local Authorized Installer the day after the installation to complain about the noise. On 3 September we sent an e-mail with a formal complaint about the noise. We have had the Local Authorized Installer visit twice and make adjustments to the furnace and adjust the fan speed (lower the speed). It is now set at the lowest possible speed, which as expected, does not adequately cool or heat our house - the system is on all day to achieve a comfortable level of 73 degrees. On 11 September, the 2nd visit, the 2 person service team agreed that the noise coming from the Furnace Blower was "not normal" and sounded like metal on metal. They reported that information to the Local Authorized Installer Company Headquarters. On 21 September, the Local Authorized Installer informed me that they had ordered a replacement "Motor and Blower Wheel". On 23 September the Installer Company confirmed the parts ordered. Today, 29 September, the Local Authorized Installer stated that they would not install new/replacement parts because Trane Corp HQ would not give them credit for the parts or for a replacement system. Moreover, Trane Corp HQ told the Local Authorized Installer that the noise was "normal" for this model. We live in a split-level house. The Furnace is in the center of the lower level. The metallic sound travels straight up the intake vents and can be heard in all three bedrooms. I measured the sound on app "Sound Meter" with results of Decibel (DB) ratings of: Average 74 BD, Max 76 DB when the Air-Conditioner is on (Cooling) and Average 65BD, Max 69 DB with just the fan blowing.Unresolved Trane Corp Customer Complaint Case # **: I called Trane Corp customer service department 3 times to request for the Specifications on the Sound Ratings for this model. That office informed me that they do not have that information as they do not have any technical information. I am a senior citizen and a disabled veteran. The noise has elevated my blood pressure and has caused my tinnitus (ringing in the ears) to be a continual headache. No resolution in unacceptable. Please help.Trane Corp Response: 1. Trane Corp refused to honor the warranty to replace the Trane Furnace (Model# S8X1C100M5PSABA) (Serial# **) with - any other model that has an acceptable noise level. 2. Trane Corp refused to publicize the sound ratings of all of their products, even when specifically requested as a matter of public health.3. Trane Corp refused to provide basic technical specifications - so that customers can make an informed purchase.

The old Carrier unit (installed in the mid 80s) finally died three years ago. Since I retired from Trane after 25+ years I wanted a Trane heat pump. Every winter since it was installed we have had Dirty Sock Syndrome. It makes the entire house smell just like dirty socks. Never had this issue with the Carrier unit all those years. The Trane dealer cleans the unit and the smell goes away till the next winter. However, my dealer is now saying if this next cleaning doesn't work we should look into purchasing and installing ultra violet lighting to kill the bacteria. Why doesn't Trane assume responsibility for the problem?

I just recently had a complete HVAC system installed a few months back. We had our first Trane HVAC system for almost 20 years. We couldn't be more happy with this system. We would recommend Trane to everyone because of their quality and longevity!

4 years ago I had both inside and outside units replaced for peace of mind at retirement. Outside unit is a Goodman 4 ton and inside is a Miller furnace in a Modular home. This unit for 4 years has blown water into the plenum and soaked it so bad, I am sure it needs full replacement now. Then 4 years in a row the fine Goodman outside unit has failed in midsummer and is down again right now. It has had coils replaced and compressors replaced and is still under warranty, but when ac repair crew gets out here again maybe Tuesday, I am going to cut my losses and have this junk removed from my sight. It is still under warranty, but I see no reason to keep this unit in service. Right now I think it is the compressor out again, that will be number 3. This needs to be completely removed and everything repaired under furnace to stop water and mold. Can't believe they can sell such poor equipment to people in this country. I will now being retired have to buy and pay for install of another unit and they can take this Goodman with its warranty to the landfill site. DO NOT BUY A GOODMAN UNIT, UNLESS YOU WANT CONSTANT REPAIRS AND EXPENSE ON YOUR PART.

$10k paper weight/heat pump. After 27 months our 5 ton 15 seer heat pump failed. We were told the reversing valve failed allowing all of the Freon to leak out. I called customer service who opened a case and told me someone would call me back. I have been waiting 7 business days for the call... I have called back 2 and I am directed to their voicemail. I would not recommend Rheem/Ruud.
