I agree that the installation is the main point when it comes to gas furnaces. I am nothing but satisfied by this brand of Coleman. My previous gas furnace kept on leaking and made my house messy, and I had had to clean often. I always called the technician to do repairs who later on recommended to me the Coleman unit. It’s highly efficient without too much cost of the gas bill. It was also affordable, and the installation was easy.

After having a Goodman furnace installed in my home 7 years ago, I recently had to spend $1000 on repairs. The main blower wheel began to make noise and was found to have cracked welds where the fins attach to the end plate. While the Tech was there he noticed the Combustion Blower was also noisy and dragging. He thought it might last a little longer, but I elected to replace it then as well. Since the furnace was just out of warranty, the cost for the two parts was almost $800. I have seen other complaints regarding Goodman Furnaces and must agree, they are substandard. The initial cost was low, and the unit seems to be efficient, but long term durability is poor. I have heard others say Goodmans are fine for a home you don't intend to keep. Ditto That!

My new Goodman heat pump lasted almost a year before losing the freon. Multiple repairs failed. Goodman will not honor the warranty, and I don't want to hassle with legal issues. Looking for a new unit after only 2 years. I will not purchase Goodman products again.

This is the reason I chose Trane for my heating and cooling comfort. Both my units worked perfectly for about 8 years. When the furnace would stop, but blower would run in the winter, my Trane repairman blamed the control board and the blower motor which were quite costly. The second service expert found it was the limit sensor, and suggested the control board that I said I had it replaced. Three winters of blowing air with no heat unpredictably the third repair guy, replaced the temperature limit and suggested my under floor vents were the issue. It comes down to that my Trane Furnace XE-90 only works properly when the weather is mild and heat isn't really needed. Advice to Trane furnace owners to look up the control panel light flash indicator's meaning, it can tell you how many flashes you see represent the problem supposedly. Additionally watching the Trane tech, there is a way to have the front panels off while the unit works (Be safe about electricity at this point.) There is a trigger button on the top left that can be taped down with electrical tape. I can't afford to have repairmen around, or replace it all. The A/C went too, still working on that one.

$12,000 for a 3-ton unit installed in 2013. Within the first year the first unit had so many failures with AC that the dealer/installer had to actually remove and replace the whole outside unit. This was after 5 service visits over the summer. They replaced the compressor twice and several other parts (too many to remember). So, with a brand new heat pump you would think all would be good now. Wrong.Winter of 2015 and the system is running on heat-strip backup about 70% of the time. It is a MILD winter here also. I got my electric bill and the kilowatt usage for January had TRIPLED!! $$$. Dealer came out. Did "something" and said nothing is wrong. Next month I watched the thermostat as it stated the backup strips were running constantly AGAIN. The air-handler would blow cold air even when outside temps were in the mid 30's. When the pump couldn't meet the thermostat demand, on comes the electric strips... up goes my electric bill! I turned off the heat strips to tell the system to use heat pump only, but the only thing I get now is a constantly running air-handler and a VERY cold house. Buyer beware of Carrier's low-quality product and marketing HYPE. This is NOT your father's Carrier of yesterday.

When this unit Goodman heat pump model GPH144841AC was about one year old it developed a major leak causing all the refrigerant to escape. It cost $500 to have someone repair the faulty factory solder joint and recharge it. Since I installed the unit myself Goodman will not honor any warranty. It is a self contained unit that I did not even open up so there was no way I could have damaged the inside of the unit. About two years later the main power relay failed and I had to replace it. This past Spring, 2017, I found it low on refrigerant and I added about 3 pounds and it worked correctly up until a few days ago even cycling off during some 28 degree weather (so it had refrigerant then). Yesterday I noticed it was running on emergency heat and checked it this morning. Not a pound of pressure. Apparently the small leak became a big leak. Again since it is a self contained unit it must be a factory fault. I'm hoping it is something that can be easily fixed, but I'm going to start saving for a replacement and it sure will not be a Goodman unit. They are junk.

I bought this IMPECCA heat pump for my kitchen its just great! had an LG before, then a Midea, my wife made me return both of those since they were too noisy and annoying.. I got a good deal on this AC, wasn't sure if I should buy it. But knowing it has a "2 year warranty" which is more than the average, it gave me confidence in addition that we have 2 other great products at home from the IMPECCA brand. we have it for almost a month now, its doing a great Job! A real life saver in this heat wave we're having here.. surprisingly the noise level is much quieter then the LG & other brands we tried. appearance is stylish, the PMTS we truly enjoy. All in All its a great Buy, would recommend it to anyone in my family and good friends.

Have had system 17 yrs. The furnace would not run when installed, for first winter, many calls to installer. Charged us for all calls! This furnace has been totally undependable, with many repairs. Bishops in Muskegon MI sold and installed. Carrier should of known the problems with this new 2 stage! They never offered us anything. We must now replace this or continue throwing money at it. For the last 7 years we have to restart furnace at least daily, sand igniter monthly, etc. now the blower motor burnt out. We need dependable, and Carrier is not that. Do not recommend Carrier unless you want to keep replacing parts for overpriced prices.

We purchased and had installed, a Trane 15 Seer heat pump unit in October 2008. In 2 1/2 years, we had 4 service calls, including a refrigerant leak and the necessity to replace the indoor coils. Luckily, we have a 10-year parts and labor warranty on this unit. But it is worse than the old unit we replaced. Now there is a strong chemical odor that fills our house each time the heat runs. Yet, another service call will be needed and another day off from work. This is the biggest piece of junk. Trane always had a good reputation, but I would never purchase another of their products.

Best furnace I have ever owned. The house is actually warm now, including the second floor. And no more cold/hot temperature swings as the two stage motor keeps the temperature steady and so comfortable. Saving money on the gas and electric bill as well as it is so efficient. I would highly recommend Napoleon furnaces.
