Product Reviews:

When I purchased the water heater, the people who came in to install the water heater were very quick and the whole process was fast and easy. There were no delays and I felt that everyone went smoothly. Specific things that I like about the brand of the water heater is that the customer service is very quick and the warranty is able to be covered within two years. I really enjoy the fact that should we have a problem there is someone right there to give me tips on how to fix it and if there are any parts that I need to purchase. I really enjoy the durability that this thing provides and the amount of water that it can warm up pretty quickly. The way that it doesn't break, we've already had it for a couple of years now and it is still working fine. My experience with my water heater has been great and I am absolutely in love with this heater because it provides warmth for the water to my family and myself and everything else.

I wrote a review about the Rheem water heater, it was a very low recommendation. I have to apologize. After being in touch with Rheem I have to give them a thumbs up (5 starts) and Thank, Twin Pines Farms, (Conn) for their helpfulness and treating people like you would want to be treated.

5 years and 11 months ago I bought a 50 gallon gas, Whirlpool hot water heater with a 6-year warranty from Lowe's. The 2007 water heaters were on sale, so I paid $329 for it. Within 6 months, I replaced the gas valve, and a few months after that, the thermo-couple went out and I replace that. Each time I called Whirlpool and got return authorization numbers for the parts, I still ended up paying for the parts plus labor. A year after that, the igniter went out and I had that replaced. Last year (the day before Thanksgiving), the thermo-couple went out again and I had to have that replaced - and it cost me for the part plus the labor - even though I had a return authorization number. I also replaced the water line connections/hoses to the water heater at that time. The customer service rep for Whirlpool told me at that time if I had another problem with the water heater, they would replace it for free - and the warranty was good until Dec 31, 2013 (this year). NOTE: Every plumber that has come out to fix the water heater and replace the parts stated that they see a myriad of problems with Whirlpool water heaters. They said the parts like the thermo-couples, igniters, gas valves, etc are poorly built and they replace them all the time. On Christmas Eve 2013 (two days ago), the water heater started leaking from the top by the valves - and so much pressure had built up in the heater the new water hose connections burst, spewing water all over the heater closet. I called Whirlpool the day after Christmas (today). At first, they told me they would not replace the heater as it was not in warranty and then I told them what I was told by the service rep last year. She finally agreed that my heater is indeed under warranty and gave me a replacement authorization number but she told me my warranty did not cover labor. I called Lowe's. At first, they told me I would have to remove the old hot water heater myself and bring it back to the store in order to get my replacement. I am a 59 year old woman and I take care of my brother, a disable veteran. Although I am in good shape and healthy, I don't have anyone to help me get the gas and water disconnected and help me lift it into my Suburban. The man at Lowe's agreed to bring out the the replacement heater and pick up the old one at no charge, but I will still have to pay $299 plus the cost of new hoses to have it installed. By the time the replacement one is installed, I will have paid a little over $1200 for a $329 water heater. I could have installed a tankless one for that, but I cannot see spending that kind of money right after Christmas. If I have one issue with this replacement, I will install a tankless water heater - and it will not be made by Whirlpool or any of its affiliates. My recommendation would be to steer clear of Whirlpool and their products.

I purchased a Hot water Heater from a local Menard's. It was installed by a contractor. 2 weeks after installation, the hot water heater started leaking from the bottom, behind one-panel rust was forming and we had no hot water. My contractor and I called Richmond 800 number, only to be told I can not replace the hot water heater, they have to send out someone to install a part they think might be wrong from pictures I sent them. Keep in mind this is winter and we now have to wait 1 week for it to be fixed. So, NO hot water for my family for 1 week.Nothing Rheem will do or could do to assist other than tell me that the people to repair are on their own time frame. The reps I spoke to on the phone were rude and not helpful at all. I am very disappointed, I feel stuck behind a rock because I don't want to pay for someone to fix it and risk not getting reimbursed. If I had to do this over, I would not purchase this type of water heater only due to the dissatisfaction of customer service.

Installed a water heater that worked for two days. Called customer support. Spent 20 minutes waiting, only to be redirected to a "technician" with a 40 minute wait. I got a teenaged millennial who had never installed a water heater and clearly wanted me off the queue. I got exactly one question, what's the voltage across the incoming electrical leads. Despite both leads providing 120VAC, I was told it was an electrical problem, determined by ONE test, and dismissed. No other diagnostics were performed and no interest in what, where are when anything happened. Describing the problem and steps taken was of no interest to the teenager on the other end. Clearly designed to avoid actual customer service. So if you want to talk to a know-it-all teenager on a phone in a cube, call Rheem customer support. American Gas Hot Water Heater Model FG6130T303NOV Serial# 0509128959 Product 0731307 pilot will not stay lit. On 2/4/11, I called American Water Heater and they said a voluntary recall was on the Manifold Door Switch and this hot water heater is registered with them and was still under warranty. I never received any information on a recall! Portsmouth Plumbing replaced the switch which was under warranty, but the labor of $125.00 was not. I have had to call American Water heater several times because the pilot will not stay lit. There is a white reset (this is not the red reset pilot button) that goes from the switch wires to the hot water heater that they let me push and hold. Then, they let me follow the instructions on the hot water heater or the "use and care guide book". This little white button is not in the book or on the hot water heater instructions. My vent on the water heater stays clean and the ventilation is good. I cannot ever get the pilot to light until I called them and then they instructed me to hold the white button for so long, then reset or something else, which this is not how the manual tells me to.It has gone out again tonight and they are closed after 9 pm. I do have a carbon monoxide detector (electric, so the batteries are not bad as American Water heater would say). Well, it does have low readings when the light goes out. This happens at least once a month and it is still under warranty and I am tired of them telling me to just relight the pilot.

We have been with Reliance since 2005 and every so often our water starts to turn yellow. Usually when we call they send a reliable service tech to fix it however in this last year their customer service has gone to the crapper. Since January we have been trying to fix the same problem with the yellow water. One tech came out. Said it’s because of a valve on the water heater so would we like to sign up for their great plumbing plan they have. So we did. The guy came to fix it and Lo and behold still yellow water. Go figure. Then I call them again. It is now May.I told them exactly the issues and even how to fix the issue as per the last 6 times I watched it being fixed. Well they send out a service man just to look. He has nothing to do with repairs. That requires another person. Now I’m pissed. I call Reliance to ask why they sent a useless person out after I went over this 3 times not to mention we are now into May. So the girl on the phone s says, "Well I can direct your call to customer resolutions." I said ok. Then the next thing I hear, "You have reached customer resolutions. Our office is closed." Unbelievable. What a garbage company. I’ve had it. Time for a change.

Had a Bradford-white water heater installed on March 9th of 2020. On March 17th, we were closed for covid shutdowns. This water heater never operated correctly and the company is not standing behind it. I would never purchase from this company again!!!

Yesterday around 5:30 pm I heard a loud popping sound and looked up. Saw sparks coming from the lower level of my home. Upon further investigation, I started to see and smell smoke. Once I figured out where the smoke was coming, I quickly discovered the source of the smoke, which was from my Rheem hot water heater that had caught on fire.

we bought a hotwater heater and it gets scalding hot set on the low setting, we had the gas valve replaced by a@e paid for by whirlpool. It still gets above 125 degrees, set on vacation with me using it all during the day.I have contacted them several times, they told me to let the hotwater run about 10 minutes everyday, or just turn the heater off and let it cool off. I bought a water heater to use not light the pilot everytime I need hot water.
