Bought an induction range from Viking in 2007... terrible experience... Actually I think they replaced some parts that were within the warranty period, with some persuading, but after the third time it broke in 4 years we decided just to throw it away and get a conventional range.

Our Viking Adventure. In 2012 we started planning for a major remodel to our home, and part of this was gutting and updating the Kitchen. One of our choices for the kitchen update was an 8 burner (6+griddle) gas and electric range. We had always been Thermador and Sub Zero people having used these products with no issues in two previous homes for 25+ years.Viking had always had a big reputation in the range market so we decided to try one of their products and in early 2013 we purchased a new Viking range from Setzers Appliance in Ocala, FL along with other non-Viking major appliances. The range was installed in fall of 2013 by a professional installer, along with all the other appliances, at a charge of 250$ per appliance. Initially we were thrilled with the new toys but then the igniters on the range had to be replaced. This was covered under warranty. Then the doors started sagging and wouldnt seal. Viking tried to fix this on two occasions but the issues never did get resolved. Then the small oven wouldnt maintain temperature, often being off as much as 100 degrees. The range was still under warranty and they attempted to fix this... they got it close but it never did work reliably. There were several service calls over the next few years, all documented and covered by warranty covering mainly issues with the ovens not working properly. We also had a very... irresponsible and grouchy, shall we say? local service person in the Gainesville, FL area.In August of 2018 the small oven again started not maintaining temp by more than 100 degrees. We called our local service man and he gave us an appointment time a week from that day... which he missed. We called him after the no show and he said oops, I forgot.... be there by 1 tomorrow. He showed up, turned on the oven, borrowed a thermometer and said the bad news is you need a new control board and it is 600$. We told him to hold off until we contacted Viking and he took his check for the service call and headed down the road.We contacted Viking and the service rep said to have the tech email him the info on the range so he could see if Viking could do anything despite the range being out of warranty because of the extensive list of issues on the service history. We called the service tech and he said he was driving and would call back for the email address when he got back to his office. Never called. Called him a week later, again, driving... will call back when I can. Never called. This went on for almost 6 weeks before we contacted Viking again and laid it all out... he was very helpful and said, Send me all this in writing and I will see what I can do and try to find you another service tech. After a month or so it boiled down to sorry, nothing we can do including apparently the inability to even provide another service tech in all of north Florida. We are now pursuing getting the range repaired on our own and with a rather bad opinion of our 13,000.00 Viking range. It may be petty but I take some small pleasure in knowing for a fact that at least three other couples purchased products from other makers after hearing about our experience over the last few years. So, while I know there must be a reason for Vikings reputation over the years I and my wife are... less than impressed.

We’ve previously lived in houses and in rentals that had Viking in them and I know that it’s a good brand. And when we were looking at the appliances, there was a couple that fitted in our budget and we also looked at the style of the oven. We looked at Wolf and Sub-Zero, and Viking, just a combination of the style, price, and functionality, won out over those. We bought a Viking refrigerator and a range from an online company out of New Jersey. It came from the factory and it looked like it had been packed up with a dent in the door. It was underneath all the packaging and theres no kind of dents in the packaging. It was difficult to figure out how to get that repaired on someone else’s dime because it’s not our fault. The dealer was more problematic than Viking. It was like sending emails to a blank wall. I felt like they could’ve said that this was not their issue and they’re sorry for sending it to us. They were just searching to figure out who I needed to contact. After four emails and a handful of phone calls they told me to call Viking. And then Viking sorted it out as I could expect. They took care of it in a good fashion and took complete charge of its cost. Viking had someone came out and replaced the door. Then, something also happened when they installed the range. Some of the workers tried to move the range around and they pulled off the door of our oven and that had nothing to do with Viking. But we were able to get that sorted out on the same day. It’s good for it to all happen at once versus a couple of times. The quality of the range is good and it seemed perfectly functional, especially after the door was fixed. It works when it needs to work.

Viking ranges and service is excellent! I have a 10 year old 60 that works perfectly and I perform all my own maintenance. Viking support and technical support has always been excellent! I have 20 years experience and can tell you these are the best! Read the complaints and you will see that many of these are user or installation error & no fault of the product. We love our Viking!

Wolf and Viking were our go-to brands and Viking Ranges price point was better than Wolf. The Viking dealer we bought it from was more of a challenge. We had a damaged Viking hood that we had to get replaced and I know the product was non-Viking. We got a fourth trim kit before it was not dented out of the box. If I didnt go in there and follow up all the time, I wouldnt have it. They could have answered emails or returned phone calls. And I was very disappointed that we spent like $38,000 of them. But we eventually got it all resolved four months later. Its the best oven weve ever owned. When you cook meat in it, everything just comes out so much better. Its easier to cook them to temp. We cooked one of those Tomahawk steaks for the first time and it came out just like in a restaurant. It was amazing. My wife likes the gas grills because before weve had all kinds of high-end electric ovens over the years and they were okay but not like this oven.

My wife and I have always wanted a professional level range. We considered Viking to be the best, especially for $5,000. Now were totally disillusioned!! First our dealer tried to fix the problems. When they couldnt, they turned us over to Viking and wouldnt come work on the range any more. Viking through their rep in Milwaukee visited us a couple of times and then stopped responding. The igniters have been replaced at least four times. One or more of them continues to fire for some seconds or minutes when turning on any burner. If the oven doesnt light on the first ignite youd better be right there to turn off the oven because on the second ignite the oven will blow up! Viking doesnt care. How they keep their reputation after reading all of the customer comments is beyond me. Id give them zero stars if it were possible. All we can say at this point is----STAY AWAY FROM VIKING!!!!!!

Bought a range in 2015. After many, many service calls and many, many replaced parts, Viking replaced the range. Now the second range is having the same issues as the original. Parts on order and again waiting weeks for repairs. Another Christmas season without a working oven. I am beyond angry. No confidence at all in Viking products. Will never buy again.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2006 and have had nothing but problems. Weve had thousands of dollars of repairs including replacement for several plastic pieces for over $750. In 30 years, Ive never replaced an interior part on a refrigerator. Viking said the interior pieces are only under warranty for 30 days. Relays have been replaced, the motherboard, and in October the compressor died and was still under warranty. The part was promised by Hadco and then rescinded. It took well over 3 months for the part to come into the dealer. Meanwhile, I had to buy a new refrigerator. I was supposed to go through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a working refrigerator. After the part was finally sent, they sent a customer satisfaction survey. Why they bother, I do not know. They have the worst product and service I have ever encountered. I will never buy another Viking product. Ive shared my experience with everyone I can to spare them my inconveniences.

I used to be a restaurant owner so Ive always known what a great product Viking gives out. My daughter is a chef so shes heard of them, and we have some friends that have Viking. Everything was great. The Viking dealer was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The range is perfect and has excellent quality. It was sturdy, perfectly flamed, and keeps the temperature. All is very good, and its a stove that I only buy once in a lifetime. Everything I need as a cook is there, and I dont need to buy anything else.

I had a Viking range in my last house and I liked it. I like gas cooking. However, when it came, the front griddle was scratched. Viking put in a ticket for service to get that replaced. They came out once. The tech couldnt do it. Came out again. He couldnt do it. Came out the third time with the replacement burners. Instead of being the silver, they were rose gold. Came back a fourth time. Now, this is only being here to make sure he could get in. In the meantime, also the griddle came. It was rusted. I just got that griddle three weeks ago after purchasing back in August. I love the product but the service was horrendous. I have all Viking in my house. I got another French door oven, the dishwashers, the microwave. It was terrible. A lot of my time spent trying to get things fixed that I shouldnt have been spending time on. Nobody listens to me.There was so much trouble trying to get the stove in and get it to be finished that I almost said to them, “Come and take it back.” Putting in tickets, waiting here for people to come to the house during COVID. Coming in, he couldnt fix it. Hours taking the whole stove apart, putting stuff all over the floor. Meaning that when his visits came, like the one time he came at 4:00 and I would start cooking dinner around 4:30, he came until 6:30. A lot of little problem things that shouldnt have had to happen. And then they give you a window of eight hours that they will be there. So, you take a day off work. That was just the messy part of it. I did that three times. But the products that they make, I absolutely love. Ive had them in my last two homes, and I have a 48- inch stove fuel and I love it.

We at Hickam Communities is a military housing community. When I talked to the residents on Friday afternoon, the Viking refrigerator was installed Thursday. They are very happy that it worked and everything is working properly. I talked to Kevin, the director of the installation, and we love working with him and his team. He’s very punctual, he understands the needs that we have being a military community. Its amazing. I was also gonna follow up with him and let him know that we didn’t have any issues this weekend with the refrigerator and that everything’s been good. Having the Viking team and Ferguson for the installation has been incredible. We’ve changed the time on the last minute and everybody has been super accommodating. We couldn’t have picked a better installation team and company to get the refrigerator from.

I purchased a refrigerator, a stove, wine cooler and vent hood from Viking. The refrigerators quality is great. It looks good and it works well. But we had a cosmetic issue with it about its packaging. I guess it’s from the factory like somebody had scoured through the packaging to get the handles attached. They basically cut the steel when they did so it got scour marks on the steel. I’ve already filed a warranty claim and somebody contacted me. They were supposed to schedule a time to come out but I never heard from them again. The last time I did was eight weeks ago and I just remembered recently that it never got done. When I was speaking with the team at Viking Refrigerators, the experience is generally pretty good. But it was a little frustrating that I had to go separately to register the warranty then come back to them to do it rather than staying to do it with them right then and there. It should have been a little bit easier. But other than that, the experience with talking with them about the problem seemed fine. But they havent followed up with the local contractor. I got a call from Viking shortly after being contacted by the local person asking me if the contractor finished it which I told them that they have not. Then they said to check back in with them but I don’t think anyone has. Other than that, I find it interesting that they dont have French door built-in refrigerator on the larger sizes. We got their 42-inch size and Viking doesn’t offer a French door refrigerator which we would’ve liked. But at the end of the day, the cost difference to go for a Wolf or Subzero ‘cause they have that as an option on a built-in is not worth it. And I will still recommend Viking.

When moved into a brand-new house, our Viking refrigerator came with it together with a stove and dishwasher. I like the refrigerators big drawer thats underneath the space for vegetables and fruits. So far, we already had some huge part replaced on it which cost about $2,000. We called Viking about it and they gave us the repairman that they recommended. The repairman came out and the refrigerator got fixed a month ago. But I can hear the sound starting to build up again so Im a little concerned about that. Other than that, Ive had an awful experience with the dishwasher. It broke and it took almost three months to be replaced because they couldn’t fix it. So I went all the way through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a dishwasher. They finally replaced it by the end of November because they could never get the part in. As for the oven, as expensive as it is, we already had to have a $3,000 replacement part for it. That was done about two weeks ago but when I turned it on yesterday to cook dinner, the part’s already broken. So, I need to have a repairman come again and replace it or fix it again because it will turn on to 350 but it won’t change temperature. When the appliances are working, it’s great but when it doesn’t work, it is horrible. Viking doesn’t come to replace things and the quality of their products doesn’t hold up to what the expense is going to cost.

The ice cube crusher/cube maker has broken twice. The first time it was still under warranty but it took over a month for the company to send a repairman. The second time that the ice crusher/cube maker broke, it was just out of warranty. The very rude Viking phone representative said that the part (ice cube tray with auger) was back ordered for over 3 months due to the faulty design of the unit noting that the plastic parts keep breaking. I like my Viking Range very much. I looked at Wolf and a couple of other brands and I just liked Viking’s clean look. I also liked that fact that I could get the eight-burner without the griddle. I didnt want the griddle and not all of them have that option. Theres one feature about it that is completely lacking. I dont understand who designed this range. Theres no clock or timer on it and thats the goofiest thing Ive ever seen. Why wouldnt I have a timer on this when I can time my cakes and everything that Im cooking and a clock so I can see?We bought the range from an appliance store and we were very pleased with our buying experience. The reps were professional. They delivered on time. The price was as quoted. I was very happy with the service. Everything was good. The range is wonderful and I would recommend it. Our Viking Range is beautiful. We looked at the features and, its just so solid. The burners are huge which was something we definitely wanted, and its perfect for our kitchen as it fits in with everything else. Their reps were very helpful and knew the product well. We had it installed, and then, all of a sudden, there was a gas leak. But it wasn’t the stove. It was the plumber. Apparently, the back-left of the stove, the part that comes from the gas line that goes into the back, hadn’t been tightened and he put pipe dope on a compression fitting, which was stupid. Some of that got into the two back burners and they weren’t working, and we smelled gas every morning. So, we had their authorized tech come out and he was fabulous. He found it, cleaned out the ports, and all the burners worked beautifully. So far, it’s the best oven-stove combo we’ve ever had and we love it.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges forever. I felt that it had everything that I needed at the price point that I could afford. I wanted a Wolf because everybody has a Wolf and raves about it. But I thought that it was out of my price range. I wondered where could I get something of equal quality but without all the bells and whistles, which was why I bought a basic Viking range with no electronics, just the straight goods. We dealt with Trail Appliance and liked them very much. The salesman there had the very same Viking range and was really positive about it. They also offered a free set of pots and pans once you bought your Viking range, but I’ve contacted them twice, and nobody has gotten back to me about it. That bothered me. Other than that, we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The ranges quality is excellent. My favorite thing is how hot it could get and how low it could go without disruption.

Over the years I’ve always wanted to get a Viking range. We moved back to America about five years ago and I went to remodel the kitchen, and that’s when I purchased one. The look is very nice. There’s a couple of quirks on it ‘cause when it came, the knobs were all put in the wrong thing. I didn’t know what was going on when we turned the stove on. I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t turn it smoothly from one adjustment to the other. We came to find out that the back of these knobs were put on wrong. So when the service guy came out, he looked at it and changed the knobs. As far as working with the Viking people, they’ve been very good and the service is top-notch.One of the things Ive noticed is its difficult to see the numbering on the Viking oven on what you want to set it to since its chrome and it is very shiny. When we turn the oven on to 350, we can’t tell when the light goes on or off when it becomes 350. We wait for five minutes and it should be there. We’re trying to get a little external temperature thing to put on there. Other than that, it’s really nice and it gets hot really fast. We like it a lot.

I bought a new home and Viking came with it. I like that the appliance cooks well. To be honest though, I haven’t had the best experiences. We’ve had to have some repairs for every appliance since I’ve lived here in one year of owning brand-new products. So I’m not exceptionally thrilled. I have a fridge, a stovetop and a microwave. There was some build-up of ice in the freezer. The most aggravating part is that I sit and wait for installers all day long. Then, they do it over and over and over, so it doesn’t sit very well. I had three times they had to come out for the freezer and the stovetop. Twice they had to come out for the microwave. But at this moment, everything is working fine.

In the later part of September 2016 we purchased a Viking Range model # VGIC 53014bss with high expectations only to find problem after problem with this range, as a matter of fact its a laundry list of problems and too many to mention. I could write a book in less time, its just not believable!!! My theory is and its verifiable that some of the more important components (parts) they install are sourced from China, Mexico etc. They are not manufactured in the U.S. or Europe and this is where the PROBLEM lies. This might not be politically correct but its a matter of fact, if you use inferior parts you should expect problems, and the words (made in the U.S.) becomes ambiguous, it should state assembled in the U.S. Its like buying a Cadillac only to find it has a Japanese motor. Buy cheap you get cheapNow onto the Viking customer care reps, these poor people are subjected to more abuse from disgruntled customers and their complaints, its as if they were part of the manufacturing process, I personally have had only good if not excellent experience with them! They can only do so much and have no options other than to say theyre sorry when problems arise, the executives are solely to blame (Accountability). It seems they must be distant from the overall process i.e. quality control, part supply, etc, etc, in actuality they should be embarrassed. Why should any Viking customer have to wait weeks or even months for service due to a lack of part availability? This also reflects on the service people and their small companys service job becomes protracted and customers like myself get disgusted.Ive recently dissuaded two of my friends from making a Viking Range purchase and not for any reason other than reliability, I am not going to be embarrassed. I just say dont judge book by its cover (oh but its beautiful). I agree but it does NOT live up to its name, its so sad especially when you spend big $$$s and thats for low end of the Viking range line. In summary and again I will not recommend Viking, hence to be forewarned is to be forearmed!!!

If a company sells a product, you would think you would have backup, especially since the appliances are so expensive. I have had problems with my Viking stove - wont lock. Problems with my under counter ice maker, problems with my wine cooler and problems with my stove. I keep living with them because they were so expensive and they look good - they just dont work well! Ive learned my lesson. I will never deal with Viking or Ferguson again.

Our experience with the Viking dealer was touch-and-go. There was a promotion and the package deal for the appliances was better than their competitors. We committed to buying the appliances and knowing that we were doing a big kitchen remodel, we gave the best timeframe we could, but we missed the timeframe. There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. All the major stuff works and it cooks, but weve had to have a couple of minor repairs done to it within the first month.

I wanted to share a review of my Viking range because it was such a big investment. We purchased a gas sealed burner VGSC5304BBS range back in the fall of 2011. My wife loves to cook and she thought a Viking would last forever. She patiently waited over 10 years to buy her dream stove. Weve had nothing but problems with both the broiler and the bottom burners. Both burners have required constant repairs and the broiler still wont light on the convection setting. Weve had to replace the bottom oven pan because it had a broken weld and we replaced the convection fan cover because it was rubbing the fan.The stove looks nice and it definitely gives the impression of quality but its reliability is horrible. I filed a claim with the BBB but Viking refused to help me. Save your money and buy a different brand... any other brand. Also, it has been recalled twice for safety problems. Terrible investment at over $6k.

I bought a Viking 6 Burner Ranch and dishwasher. We finished the kitchen and tried to connect the ranch and dishwasher by July 2. I tried one whole week to make that dishwasher work but finally called for support. I got an service appointment 5 days later and they found out that the brand new dishwasher pump is not working. We order the parts. The installer company told me it is on back-order for 10 days. After 6 days and no news I informed viking and then the drama starts. Now I am still waiting for an exchange or part to fix my washer. There is no communication. The Veronica ** rep forward my case to a manager who has still not contact me. I have no answer since 3 weeks now and a broken new machine. This is the worst and rudest customer service I ever experienced for buying their expensive products. I cannot recommend that company at all.

A condominium I bought in California many years ago already had a Viking installed. It was brand new and it had one of the big double ovens with the six things on top and the grill. The gas burners are very efficient, very powerful and I love them. However, were now in our second home in Washington state, and we found out that most of the dealers here have quit carrying Viking. They said it was very difficult to get service up here, so Im a little concerned that I made the choice. I didnt realize they were closing it out when I got this last range. Ive had four ranges, and Ive been happy with them. I had trouble with a couple of things on the range I bought in California in my condominium, including the modernized clock it had on it, but I always got service out and they took care of it. So far Ive had a really good experience with Viking and they were good.

Let me start off with how terrible this company is with everything they do.
Let me start off with how terrible this company is with everything they do. They claim that they strive to be the best with customer service and this and that but its all false lies that any customer shouldnt believe. I will NEVER, EVER recommend this company to anyone or recommend anyone to buy any of their products as they are crap and parts need to be replaced numerous times throughout the year. A couple of years back we purchased a 7 thousand dollar Viking range and if I went on to explain the problems this oven has caused us it would go on and on forever. 500 dollar burners had to be replaced numerous times throughout the years as well as numerous other parts which werent working, leaving us with repairs worth more or equal to the price of the oven from day one. We decided to contact the company and put in a claim because we saw that they rebranded the company and a lot of complaints were filed with them in the earlier years about the same exact oven we had. They requested all repair documents even stating that they saw we had to get it repaired by them within the first few months. We spoke to a customer service representative named Lashelle ** and she was the most terrible one of them, all rude and didnt help with anything, barely got responses to emails and had to go out of our way to get a response back from her. She finished the review and said theres nothing they can do about the oven. Screw your company and crappy pieces of ** ovens which you do nothing for the customer who has problems with them. DO NOT BUY AS YOU WILL REGRET THIS PURCHASE SEVERELY.

The range is stainless, heavy-built, and more commercial than residential. I got it through a local distributor but it was damaged upon arrival. The stainless trim below the oven door was dented and it took about two months to finally get the part out of them. I was disappointed in the support I got from them. There was follow up, but then we had to get back to them after not hearing them for a month. They kept on ordering the wrong parts. But other than that, Vikings quality is pretty decent.

We were promised the delivery date of our Viking Range was some time at the end of June of last year. But we kept getting pushed off. We were told it would be two more weeks. It just kept going and going. Finally, we got ahold of somebody high up in Pirch who said that we might not have it until the middle of this year. We started calling around. I decided that if I couldnt have a Viking, it was okay because I just wanted an oven. I hadnt had one in almost a year. We finally found someplace in New York that had a model that we ended up purchasing. It got delivered in November of last year, five months after our original date was promised and it was dented. We got ahold of somebody. They told us that they would get a new part out to us. But we still havent gotten a new part out. Im super disappointed. It was also broken when it was delivered and it took five weeks to get it fixed. But I love cooking on it. Its amazing. Weve made some pizza dough and Ive used the proofing feature, which I didnt even know it had. That was really cool.

I also spoke with them over the phone and the representative was nice. She gave me the information but I needed to log in an email and send the details, and that was actually done for me. I went from electric to gas with the Viking range. Aside from wanting gas, I liked the looks of it and the knobs. Theyre big and theyre easy to use. I like the sliding rack too but they should have two of them in there and not just one. Also, when we got the range home, the convection oven did not work. I didnt know it for a while because I didnt use it. But Viking was really prompt about getting it taken care of and getting a man out here to fix it. Ive had it for a couple of months now and everything has been great so far. We also bought the microwave and the convection on it didnt work. We purchased our Viking 48 built in in 2005 and during the next two years, had (11) service calls to either fix the ice maker or the temperature control module. The ice maker never functioned properly and we finally replaced it at a cost of over $550. Their service rep. actually argued and yelled at my wife on the phone because the item was out of warranty. How in the hell can any company stand for that type of customer relations and expect people like us to recommend their products?? But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are some companies that still know the business of good customer relations and that is Wolf / Sub Zero. Point in fact, my double oven control unit went out. We called the Wolf service center and asked them if there was anything they could do for us to minimize the cost of replacing the module at $760.00. They immediately said that they would waive the cost of the parts but we would have to pay a service fee of $125. DONE DEAL. By the way, the unit was ten years old. I tell this story to everyone who will listen, perhaps Viking will, someday. To be fair, I did find out that there was a recall on the refrigerator door pins that could break and the door could fall off. I called and they were very nice and will cover the replacement costs and parts 100%, which they should on any safety recall.

My mom had the 36-inch Viking range for a while. She referred Viking and I know Viking appliances last longer. My refrigerator is basic, but I like the way it looks. The chill drawer for the beer and sodas is nice to have. We bought the fridge from Best Buy. They were okay, but they werent Viking-trained. They knew it was a high-end refrigerator and that was it. However, Pacific Appliance, the dealer, should stop using third party people. It was a floor model and it didnt come with a manual. I had to download everything. The guy told us that we should just go on YouTube and learn how to adjust the doors ourselves, and thats why we had to call an actual Viking person to help us out. Even though it was a floor model, they still went ahead and replaced the ice maker just to make sure thats working perfectly and the fridge has been working perfectly since.

Viking is a good higher end brand. Its not as expensive as some of the ultra-high-end brands. When we decided to do the renovation this year, we put in all of Viking appliances. Im really happy with them. As I was cleaning the stove the other night, I really like it. Its easy to clean. It looks more of a restaurant style kitchen. It looks impressive. It feels good. Its good stuff. It boils faster than the range that we used to have, which is great. I love it. We had a slight scratch on the door and no questions asked, they came out and replaced it. Everything worked with the rebate. I didnt have to fight for it. It was a great experience.

Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair estimates from the service company, which we shared. Viking replied that due to the age of the appliances (5 years) they are not able to help. Viking was once a great American brand that created superior appliances. For the premium price, buyers could feel confident in the the quality of their purchase and the companys customer service. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Viking is aware of the flaws with some of their products, especially the refrigerators (as is evidenced by the sheer number of complaints on this site alone about the same issue), yet they refuse to stand behind their products. Despite my hopes that I would be able to report that Viking did the right thing and repaired what is clearly a design flaw affecting many, unfortunately I cannot. It would be extremely easy for them to resolve this issue, but they choose not to. Instead, Viking prefers to erode customer trust in their products, service and their brand. I am sad to report that the Viking of today is no longer the company it once was. My only advice to anyone considering a Viking appliance or a full Viking kitchen is: buyer beware. Read the reviews on this site and others carefully.

But the big door, unless I stick something in it, will not stay closed when we cook. It leaves a light on so I have to put something in to close it. I love my Viking a lot but the oven door is a pain in the neck.We also got a Viking refrigerator and the light went out. The guy came over to fix it and he didnt have what he needed. Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

We looked at discount places and priced out Viking ranges. We bought a model from last year and we like its BTU for the burners. The overall quality is good and we love it. Our favorite feature is the burners and we have five burners now that we’ve actually all been able to use.The sales guy at the Viking dealer was great and did no pressure. He has very high professionalism and knowledge for the product. He totally helped us out and then we looked and told him that we would look somewhere else and get another quote. It was no problem with him so we went and looked at another Viking range somewhere else. We realized that what we first saw was the one that we should have bought all along so we went right back and got it. My first Viking range got damaged in shipping. The frame got bent and they had to put a new plate at the bottom. The door was warped too and it wouldnt close. Viking wanted a second opinion and the tech came out and confirmed that the range was damaged. Viking then sent a new one in which came within a week. However, the second was damaged too and the kickpipe at the bottom was bent. So, they put a new one. Thus far, I love the burners. On our old range, only one of the burners got hot. The other wouldnt boil water so I love the fact that both of my burners this time around are both really high-powered. Customer service at Viking has been good too. When they put the first range in, the top was scratched. When they put the second one in, it was scratched too and theyre replacing the top of the range currently. I figured that when their crew slides the range in, their guys belt buckle would scratch the top of the range because the scratches are in the same spot. Still, Viking took care of everything and I love my oven. Id definitely get a Viking again.

We had an old FiveStar 48-inch and we were the second owner and it was on its last legs, so we decided to get a new one instead of spending a lot of money fixing it up. But of course we had a 48-inch space, so we needed a big oven to fill that space instead of redoing the counters. My wife looked at Wolf, Thermador, and the likes and they were all comparably priced. Also, she had worked in the restaurant business before and had used Viking on the commercial side. So she knew that they held up and they lasted. The Viking Range works as advertised. We bought a brand new Viking Professional 301 Series Built-In Dishwasher when we moved into a new townhouse 18 months ago. It hasnt worked in a month, although we have had 4 service calls and 4 parts replacements in 3 weeks - after the last visit it flooded the kitchen floor after the tech left. I think we have had 8 service calls in 18 months. There is obviously a problem with the dishwasher (it has been discontinued) however Viking refuses to consider replacing it. Viking does not stand by their product - rather than provide us with a working unit, they prefer to jerry-rig a series of failing repairs. This is one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. I understand that appliances fail, however for us the failure has been the integrity and quality of Viking Customer Service. What a disappointment.

We went to Best Buy and saw Viking there. We chose them based on what we saw and the recommendation of the salesperson and then compared the burners and the size that we had and that’s why we purchased it. When we first got this stove in, a piece of sealing in the oven door between the glass was loose and we had to wait for that to get replaced. There was a dent in the bottom frame. Viking wouldn’t automatically replace the stove outright. They wanted to send some service guy over and it took almost six weeks to get that taken care of. Also, the oven door does not stay shut when you use the oven. It hasn’t even been a year and now we have the issue with the oven door just popping open in between when we’re cooking. We’ve got us a service guy coming on Monday, but would prefer to have that stove completely replaced given the fact that we’ve got two service calls on the warranty.Viking keeps telling me that there’s nothing they can do and I have to call the authorized service people. Ive called their headquarters to find the name of the authorized service people, and they said even though within a number of days of purchasing, if it arrives in my house, they wouldn’t replace it which I don’t understand. Other manufacturers do it automatically. When I had issues with Sears, Id call them up and theyd give me a replacement. We would not recommend Viking based on whats going on now.

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

The only criticism I have is that when we open up the bottom drawer and let the icebox fill up to the top, as we pull out that drawer that has the icebox, the little metal piece that you flip up and down to turn off or on the icemaker very often grabs a roll of ice cube, shoots them into the back of the refrigerator, and they come flying out underneath the freezer compartment. If I was 30 years old picking up the cubes it wouldn’t bother me as much, but Im 70 years old and having to lean over and pick up the ice cubes when they fly across the floor is not something Im enjoying. What weve been doing is once the icebox is filled, we flip the metal bar up and we leave it off until the box is fairly empty and then put it back up again. I don’t think it has to do with a malfunction and that they could fix that without redesigning the refrigerator. If someone asks about Viking, I would tell them to consider making sure that they look at the design of each of the refrigerators and make sure that this particular design is something theyre gonna be aware of in case they buy this model. This is a problem Im having with this model and maybe another model doesn’t have that problem.

I have a three year old Viking 6 burner range. When I try to turn on to preheat oven, instead of preheat light coming on it clicks into clean mode and clean light blinks, and oven doesnt preheat. I phoned our Viking repair person this morning and coincidentally, I am the fifth person to call in the same problem in the last week. She also noted that our ranges are of similar age. Very curious if this might not be a recall issue?

This morning my Viking range turned on by itself. I researched and found that there is a voluntary recall by Viking for this exact problem, but when I called I was told that my model was not covered under the voluntary recall, so they would not send me the repair kit. Instead they told me to contact an authorized repair service. While in the phone with Viking, my oven turned on by itself four more times. My oven is now unplugged and we have disconnected the gas line. I am extremely nervous about this issue. My model is the 307 series. Covered under the recall is the 306 and 308 series, among others. Does this make sense? No. In addition to this problem, we have had to replace the glass seal, hinges and oven igniters. We also purchased a Viking microwave which broke within the first 13 months. Very unhappy. Should have purchased a Wolf.

Weve been having a lot of problems with our refrigerator. From the beginning, the freezer side would not seal properly and we couldnt figure out why. The contractor took a look at the door and he realized that the seal thing was disconnected. It took them three or four weeks to get the part here to get it fixed and meanwhile, our freezer was working really hard but that got fixed. But from the get-go, our fridge has been super loud. At first, we thought it was because the cabinet up above was a little loose. We tightened that cabinet up and the fridge is still super loud. Were still going back and forth with Wiking and it is not resolved. Its just a bunch of escalation to somebody who doesnt call back. The people are very nice at Viking but nothing has really been accomplished. Its not the right fridge to buy for $10,000. We should have bought a different fridge.

We purchased a Viking range in 1996 for $4,000. We began having problems with the oven igniters not working, therefore could not use the oven. We had them replaced the first time, at the cost of $217.89 on 12-23-98. This problem has recurred on a regular basis. We have replaced the igniters repeatedly on: 8-12-02 for $271.25, 7-13-06 for $310.00, 2-17-10 for $245.05, 1-21-10 for $265.26, and 8-09-11 that cost $402.95. Two days after the last repair, on 8-11-11, the igniters again would not work.As I write this today, I am without the use of my range again and find myself waiting for repairs to the same one later this week. This has become a nightmare! We have spent nearly $2,000 in repairing the same defective part over and over again. We are retired and cannot afford to keep replacing the igniters that are defective. The range is totally unreliable. I never know if it is going to light when I turn it on. We have used only repair services that are officially recommended by Viking. Our calls and concerns to Viking go nowhere.Upon investigating further, I have found that the igniters have been a constant problem in these Viking ranges and they were forced to redesign the igniter/burners system in the newer ranges. Where does that leave those of us who own these lemons? I would like to consider taking action against Viking.

Poorly constructed. Gas ignition/temperature control does not work and has never worked. I purchased my range in 1997. Since then I have replaced the bi-metal gas valve 5 times and the two bake igniters 4 times and broiler igniter once. At present the right burner does not go on unless the gas valve is tapped manually with hammer or butt end of screw driver - so looks like the igniter or gas valve or both are no good again. Also, the oven door never closed evenly, leaking heat. It leaks enough heat to have burnt the exterior finish off the door. One of the oven door hinges has been broken for ever. The oven temperature is always inconsistent. The control knobs, since new have been loose with a lot of play in them. The oven floor is deformed/cracked from the heat of the burners. The wall panels are loose and sloppy and impact the sliding in and out of the racks. Viking does not offer, never has offered support, but rather will refer you to a service tech that does not understand how to get the gas range to operate properly. Dont buy it.

Perhaps like many others that purchase Viking appliances, my wife and I were enamored with the design, size and look of the Viking refrigerator. We spent close to $20,000 and purchased a 36 refrigerator with a separate 30 freezer to go beside it. Looking at our kitchen you see nearly five feet of fridge/freezer. It looks amazing. Stupidly, this was the reason we bought the brand. My neighbor has a similar set-up and he told us over and over again not to invest in Viking. He swore it would be a mistake. My attitude was it wont happen to us. Was I wrong.Within one year, back in 2018 (pre-Covid; so no excuses yet about shipping issues/health issues/work shortage issues), the refrigerator stopped working altogether. Everything inside was ruined. The refrigerator was hot. It would not cool anything. I called Viking and it took 3 days to get a repairman to our home. Three days of no food. Then of course the part had to ordered. This took another 2 weeks. The part arrived and within another week it was installed. One month of no working refrigerator. I asked for a loaner... nope. I asked for a replacement... nope. I asked for a food stipend... nope. I asked to reimbursed for the ruined food... nope. After the month delay, it was noted that the refrigerator was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. This took another month for the new refrigerator to arrive. A $12,500 refrigerator that we could not use for two months. Now check this out; within a month or two of the new refrigerator being installed, my 7 year old son opened the fridge to get something. He pulled the door and as he pulled his foot was in the way and the door punctured his foot. He required 7 stitches. Our family wrote it off as the craziest accident ever. But... within another month or so, the door was not closing properly. This was a brand new refrigerator and the door would not close right. The magnet would not catch and the door was essentially always open. Viking sent a repair guy. He could not figure it out. He kept stating that the hinges were unlike anything he had seen. Then it dawned on him, the door was installed upside down. He had to take it off, flip hinges and reinstall. What??? Upside down? How is that possible? I then realized that this is probably the reason why my son punctured his foot. It was too low.Six months after replacing the refrigerator, the freezer stopped working. Everything melted. The compressor (?) was shot and it was replaced. For the continuing hassle, Viking extended our warranty an additional year. We now had 3 years of warranty. Within the three years, we have had to replace the ice-maker at least 5 times. Every 4 months it develops a leak and water drips into the ice bucket. Soon the ice bucket has an inch or so of water at the bottom and the entire ice bucket turns in to a solid block of ice. They send a repair guy and he replaces it. This has happened five times. It is broken again now. Unfortunately we are now out of warranty. I argue that the problem began while we were under warranty. This apparently does not matter. Viking wants to charge me $150 for the part and $150 to install it. Again a $7,500 freezer with an ice-maker that does not work. Dumb.Today, the produce tray in the refrigerator broke. Looks like a plastic piece fell off and the side by side drawers came off. This overpriced appliance is an absolute joke. Like my neighbor did with me, I tell all people that compliment our gorgeous appliances to NEVER buy the Viking brand. I warn everybody that I cannot to make the same mistake we did. Viking sucks.

I was doing research and my sister had a Viking range, and then I started looking into Viking appliances. I liked them, plus they were made in the USA, and thats how I ended up buying a Viking refrigerator. Its a good purchase. I bought it from my dealers here in the Portland area. Its been excellent with the reps. The salesperson was very knowledgeable. He offered me different kinds and I said, Listen, just tell me about Viking right now, and he said, Okay. The ref I got has two features that I like. First, the temperature is very constant, and is exactly what the ref says. Second, theres a little ozonator inside the ref for keeping the food fresh and not smelling. However, I am going to call Viking because we have a little issue with the refrigerator. When I open the door, the drawers on both sides where you put your veggies in wont stay and would slide out if I dont put something underneath, like a piece of towel. This appliance is not leveled well. Other than that, its perfect. Hopefully, somebody can fix my refs drawers so they will not slide when I open the main door, because thats very annoying.

We have an induction range and a microwave. The microwave is not user friendly, I cant read the timer, hate that the control pad is behind the door. It looks sleek but I wish I never bought it. The induction range - the burners barely do anything unless you put the control at Med, Hi or higher. The knobs wiggle and are loose. They sent me new knobs but that didnt fix the problem. The oven seems to work fine, but I would much prefer a digital readout because there is no really accurate control of the temperature.

Viking Ranges look beautiful that’s why I chose Viking over a different name, also because of the quality and the name behind it. I wanted everything to match, so I went with the range and the dishwasher as well. The range has worked really well, but the dishwasher had problems when it was first originally shipped. The team with Viking came in and had to replace two parts, but for a brand-new appliance having two new different parts, having someone come in was not something I expected. In the future, I would stick with the actual cookware and not the auxiliary accessories.I have the standard range and stovetop, but its built well. Everything on it is really strong and really sturdy like it would be lasting a long time. I dont worry about if its gonna break if I move to someplace Im gonna have to be of if Im gonna end up replacing it in the next five years. On top of that, I really like the timeless design, where it wont go out of style if I switch from plain marble to black marble. Its not something Im gonna have to replace.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

My Viking range has been a good investment so far for me. Weve had it since last summer and its a great range. I like it a lot. It’s very efficient and the oven heats really quick. It’s solid too. I like the fact that it’s like a commercial range, so it gets really hot. But when you put it on the low setting, it’s not very low ‘cause it’s got pretty big burners. The only thing that’s odd is when I’m closing the oven door the enamel is chipping off of it ‘cause there’s this piece that sticks out. Otherwise, the quality is good.

My freezer has not worked since Ive moved in so thats a little bit disappointing. Viking has been wonderful in answering my calls. But unfortunately, the people that service around here are just a little bit slow and they operate on their own time. The temperature of my freezer gets really hot so I have to keep hitting max freeze all day. If I dont, the alarm starts going off, so its really irritating. Its like a child I have to watch so I dont let my food get bad. The technician that came out said he fixed it. Yet, it was still getting too hot. I called back and they said they have to order a part and it was taking a very long time. Finally, it came in, so I have an appointment scheduled for March 1st. I like the appliance in general. But Ill be happier once it works properly. I hope that they can get it to work properly.

We know and we like Viking so we go Viking all the way. We have two stoves, one gas, one electric, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Theyre easy to use and everythings upfront. Everything else we buy these days, including a car, comes with a tutorial on DVDs and 48-page pamphlets just to introduce the other pamphlets. But Viking we just look at it and there it is. Our Viking refrigerator is only a few days old and so far its been fine compared to the other one, which was a disaster. Its very steady and has a door alarm. In case I get caught in a fugue like state I can always be reminded by the alarm. And everythings uniform in terms of refrigeration throughout the compartment, which we like. I also like that it has a barrier bar between in the back of the right hand door so when we’re closing it it really seals. The ice maker is good. We can turn it off if we dont want it and there are no issues about leaks and going into trays. It is very self-contained and efficient. The Viking dealer have very friendly folks. They told us about others brands, more for contrast. They didn’t try to sell us anything else. Once they saw we were going Viking they reinforced things and they were very efficient. There was a lot of communication. They called us back and forth. The driver with the appliance had called us three times telling about his route. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, price wise and in terms of the delivery date and the people who brought it in. The delivery folks were great. They spent over an hour leveling things and they did a great job. They were very careful and neat and one of the best deliveries weve had since we were here. The only thing that Id have to get used to is the bottom drawer which is a long drawer and gives good storage for the cold zone but theres nothing about that that we use right now. Although I could see for the future we might be loading different sorts of perishables in there. We have to open both doors to get that lower drawer open. Its not a problem it just culturally I hadnt been doing that. And should a friend ask me about Viking refrigeration I’d say, “If youre rich, get it.”

My husband ordered a Viking range for me as a surprise birthday present. The service people that we paid to do the installation were horrible and didnt know anything about it, and so we ended up having to do it ourselves. The range is good and I like the easy clean. None of my stuff seeps down in the burners when what I cook overflows. However, the range should have more of the easy slide racks because the ones that arent are too small for the oven. Also, when the oven is on and I would turn it to low, the flame on the two front ranges would go out. The two outer knobs would also turn with a resistance. So Viking is replacing the oven.My husband is waiting for someone to call him back for our inconvenience. Since were getting a new stove, we hope we can keep the easy glide rack as compensation for our difficulty because this oven is not cheap. I would recommend Viking with reservation. If they don’t take care of the issues I have right now and I have to keep calling, then I will get Better Business Bureau involved. I would really not like to because this is a very nice birthday present and I was very happy with it.

Our Viking refrigerator was purchased in 2002. The side-by-side style and drawer system looked great when purchased. In the first year under warranty, the bottom slide-out drawers and hinges snapped off and broke several times. The tracking was replaced as well as the entire drawer system. The motor broke, drawers cracked, compressor broke and the sealer to the door replaced. I think everything was replaced in the first year. Now that its 2013, every side holder on the door side are held together with duck tape. The ice maker stopped working a long time ago. Drawers lost their handles - all broken off. Compressor is out and the bottom drawer a joke. Doors dont stay closed. The alarm goes off randomly when it wants to have to get out of bed to press the alarm off button several times a day. We still have the recall replacement hinges for the doors uninstalled as of yet. Apparently, the doors can fall off randomly and hurt people. Viking offered a discount for a new refrigerator if we decide not to get the hinges replaced. However, I am not sure that will solve any future problems. We should have purchased the competitors brand, which was slightly higher in price. Tried to see if they would offer anything more than the 1 year warranty. Nothing offered except a discount on a new one.

Ive had my Viking range for about six weeks and I just started to get used to the noise of the fan. But so far, it cooks very well. I’ve always heard of Viking and a lot of places were pushing it. Their reps were excellent and they knew very well. They answered all my questions. They even said how much they love Viking and I’m going to love it. Then, because of my situation with the hood range recirculating, I was told it was better than Wolf and the one that I got is a much safer situation. I have the 3 Series so it’s different. It’s not like the 5 or the 7 and I love the 3 too. It’s just perfect for what I have on the top. It holds my pots nice and its a nice stove for my house. It was also much prettier looking and I liked it better instead of the red knob. I like its knobs versus my old type of stove which was electric. I also like that the Viking is very clear-cut simple. The range is of very good quality, very solid, stern and very powerful. When I used to fry stuff, I used to get oil everywhere. When I fry stuff on here, I’d barely see any oil. It means that the simmer is more professional than what I used to have. Plus, the cleanup is so easy.

I bought a fridge and dishwasher back in 2011. The fridge was fine, however, the dishwasher was just dreadful. After going through several channels, a Viking rep told me to pull it out and sell it. Eventually, the store where I bought it ended up replacing it. I then opted for a Miele dishwasher. In June 2013, I decided to try again with Viking. I ordered a range top, range hood with fan, and warming drawer. The range top had to be replaced as it arrived very badly scratched and dented. It was yet another ordeal to get it replaced. Ive never had the chance to use it because the cabinet rubs against the drawer and screeches metal to metal when trying to use it.The Viking rep sent out a panel to be screwed into the base of the drawer to keep it flat but that did not work. Now we have another part ordered but Viking has the flippant attitude of telling us they have no idea when the part will arrive. In order to complete the remodel of my kitchen I needed double ovens and a microwave. I chose Jenn Air, and could not be happier with their products. Also, their customer service is outstanding. Viking is definitely the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is just horrendous.

I own a 6 year old Viking Double Oven. It’s bad enough Viking wouldnt stand behind a heating unit but worse, we missed the complete Christmas season (our oven died Dec 17) using the oven because Viking didnt have parts in stock to repair the element in the oven. I will miss this Easter as well since the parts wont be in by then. As a cook this is unacceptable to me and Viking’s potential customers should be aware of this. It will have been 4 months for me to receive a new ribbon element with glass part # 013930-000 IF I get it by April. I think Viking potential customers should be aware of the lack of customer service in parts with Viking. Also Viking customer service didnt seem to care about my issue and basically had the too bad for you attitude. We have a 6 burner Viking range top and a Viking double oven in a top end house. If this is Vikings idea of customer service for premium clients I will take my purchases elsewhere in the future. Buyers beware.

We purchased a VCRB536 Refridgerator and separate matching freezer for a kitchen remodel. Our Subzero 532 was operating perfectly although it was over 20 years old. The Viking door hinge spring broke, maybe $ 1000 to replace a $ 10 spring. Warranty coverage was denied. Now, the door bins are falling apart. Nothing heavy in them, but the ALL METAL door bins have plastic end caps that are cracking. Now I need to be careful the door doesnt fall off, but also watch the bins and contents falling when I open the door. Im very disappointing in this product and lack of support.

I cannot seem to get my range repaired and no one at Viking seems to care. Six weeks out and no action taken. When I use the oven, the face plate holding the knobs heats up so bad you cannot touch them. Viking repair said they may install a blower behind the plate to expel the heat but after six weeks, I am about to give up. Seems to be a major design flaw to me. I sure learned a lesson about Viking. Beware.

We bought a new house with all new Viking appliances. I was excited as Id always heard good things about Viking. Never will I have another Viking product now that I have actually experienced the quality, and have dealt with their customer service department. As for the microwave, it was only five years old when it caught on fire. Enough said.

When we bought the house, we requested for Viking appliances. We wanted to get the big 42-inch refrigerator but our realtor failed to tell us at the last minute that they ordered a 36-inch model instead. But even though its not the model I liked, I love its quality. The aesthetics, as far as the door hinges, doesn’t get in my way. It was well-thought out and well-engineered. I also like the option that the temperature is different in certain compartments. However, I dont like the freezer part. As far as the stovetop, we had a choice in that. We got the eight-burner stove and it is phenomenal. It also has a conventional oven built in. All in all, I like Vikings appliances because I can buy a certain model and it has options that come along with it.

Replaced an existing 36 built in Viking with the same size ($7700.00). Didnt want to repair the wood molding to fit a non-built in unit. One year, both Crisper drawers (middle shelves) are cracked in front. Both have vertical cracks in the middle of the drawers. Doesnt affect the operation, but it is at eye-level to remind you every time you open the door. I did save the shelves/drawers from the old removed Viking unit. Unfortunately, I only have one spare shelf left because the Wife has sold my spares to other unfortunate Viking Customers. Oh, and the same issue as everyone else with the Ice Maker; if you dont monitor the amount in the bin and shut-off the arm, every time you open the freezer door ice falls out the bin into the back of the freezer. Doubt I will purchase $180.00 drawers because of cracks.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator is not great. One year later, I’m buying a new refrigerator. But I wouldnt buy the same one again. The ice machine is frustrating and at times, it makes loud strange noises. And the freezer often frosts over. I reached out to Viking and they said there was nothing more they could do.

My wife and I liked the cabinetry that was in the house that we purchased except the refrigerator was a KitchenAid counter-depth. We wanted a new one but the cabinetry kinda limited us on the size because it has room for a 48-inch wide counter-depth refrigerator only. So, we went looking and KitchenAid Sub-Zero had a very solid name. Its made locally here in Chicago and it was a top consideration. However, their pricing wasn’t as favorable as the Viking which we felt had the same features and has as good a name as the Sub-Zero. So, we decided to go ahead with Viking because with them, we were able to save a little bit of additional money. Also, when we bought it, the original kitchen was done in white appliances and we decided we wanted to go with the stainless steel look to get a little more modern look. But it required a new built-in oven and a new refrigerator. And with the deal that was going on for the Viking, if you bought the oven and the refrigerator, you got a free dishwasher. So, that was another reason why the Viking brand stood out for us at the time.So far, its has a very solid refrigeration and it’s got a nice ventilation system that if there’s something that’s going bad, the whole refrigerator doesnt necessarily smell bad. It also has this great little spot on the bottom where you could put a pizza box which, with the depth of a refrigerator, is not an easy thing and it’s kinda out of the way. So, that’s a nice little feature. I like the style of the coolers as well and the fact that the drawers have an automatic soft close. So, Ive been pretty darn happy with our Viking refrigerator. We’d gone to Abt Electronics which is local here and he go-to place in Chicago. We ended up looking again online just to see what was available and found a place called the Appliance Connection. Theyre out in New York and they also sell very similar high-end appliances. And because of what the end process was gonna be, we ended up going with the Appliance Connection. It was over $1,000 that we were gonna be able to save by utilizing them as compared to using Abt. However, the delivery took over six weeks and when they delivered it, they sent two guys. But the refrigerator that we purchased weighs 500 pounds. It’s a heavy refrigerator and the two guys who delivered it said that they couldnt put in in our house. But we told them that we paid for it to go into our house. They ended up having to send another crew out three weeks later to finally get it into the house. It became a pretty big fiasco as far as we were concerned. Also, on the day that were supposed to come out, they said they were gonna be there then, apparently, their dispatch had given them a bad address or the one appointment took longer than it was supposed to, so they didn’t show on the day that they were supposed to come. All in all, I don’t think I’d ever buy from them again. But it was nothing that Viking had done. As a matter of fact, I went to Viking and complained about Appliance Connection being a reseller of their product and the next day, I was getting a manager’s call from the Appliance Connection to try and make things right. So, Viking did everything they could to try and make it as good as possible. Also, the refrigerator is in now as well as the oven. They are both great and Im very happy with them. Viking also has a great name in ranges and stoves and the double oven we got from them fit the spot. It works well and looks good. It’s very nice and phenomenal. The oven and the refrigerator are pretty close together and my wife didn’t want two different looks. She didnt want the handles to be off, for the color of the stainless steel to be slightly different, or even for the grain of the stainless steel to be slightly different. So, when you’ve decided that youre gonna go with that oven, it pushes you to go for the refrigerator as well.
