I guess I am not the only one with this problem as I read the comments!! Has anyone found a solution? I have had a repair man out here 3x and it keeps happening. The coils freeze, the floor of the freezer has a 1/2 inch frozen solid water and water leaks out onto my hardwood floors. If this is obviously a problem why are they not fixing them??????? I had a Subzero in my other home for 20 years and this never happened!!! So during this beautiful Sunday Im inside scraping ice and cleaning up water. Someone has to be accountable.

The first problem I had with my range is the oven taking forever to preheat. Then an incessant clicking began on the burners. I was lucky enough to purchase a repair contract for $65.00 for a year. They fixed the oven preheating problem and also fixed the clicking problem, but now it has began again. It is so annoying. My burners do work, but I want to scream sometimes when I am trying to use all of the burners.

Our Viking Refrigerator came with the house and was chosen by the builder. So far, the quality has been okay but we had some issues. First, the handle on the fridge-side door broke. I called the customer service and they sent someone over to check. They ended up ordering a new part. It was covered under the warranty and everything was taken care of in a timely manner. Second, the freezer is making a noise. Last week, we had noticed this noise for four days. Then over the weekend, the noise disappeared. I have an appointment today with the Viking’s service guy to come and fix the issue.

My wife first heard of Viking Refrigerators, and we went with them for the price of the unit, the model we purchased and the brands reputation. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and delivery was done on time. The style and the temperature settings are nice. However, I dont know if Viking was worth the money we paid for. Weve had less expensive brands in the past that worked as well or had fewer issues than weve had with it. It should be more reliable for its price. The water dispenser is leaking and the ice dispenser has been replaced twice since we purchased the Viking refrigerator. Also, the approved service provider that was recommended on Vikings website was terrible. They came on April 17th, ordered several parts and then they communicated but there hasnt been anything done. They said they havent gotten the parts in yet or they are not sure if theyve gotten the parts in yet. Im having to contact them to follow up, and theyre not calling me despite our verbal agreement. I already paid for the parts, too. Well never use those people again.

I am designing a kitchen renovation where the customer wants a Viking range plus exhaust hood. It is impossible to get any information from either local suppliers or Viking itself. For example, simple information as the dimensions of the warming shelf or how to connect and support the wall hood are not provided. Calls to Viking are unanswered. This speaks to the response of Viking to their potential customers - beware!

We bought a new construction condo about 11 years ago and the builder put a Viking in there. That was the first Viking we owned. This time, we did our due diligence in looking at some of the other things that were out there. We looked at Wolf, but I liked the simplicity of Viking. We’re also very happy with the quality of the range. My wife does the bulk of the cooking and she really likes the evenness of the heating in the oven. All the burners are like power burners. Most of the stoves out there, you get one that maybe can put out the BTUs. But all the ones, Viking can do.Having now owned our second Viking, it seems, however, like the lighting on the burners is always a little tricky. Lighting the burners, its clicking and it’s not lighting and then I have to turn the knob. We have tenants in the condo that has a Viking and more often than not, especially when they’re new, people have a little issue lighting it and that’s one area that Viking could improve on. We had someone come out with the one in the condo and they said it was the igniter. We replaced that and the unit performed exactly the same way after, so it seems like it’s just the way it works.

We were shopping at Best Buy and happened on catch the sales rep Felicia who was extremely helpful and pretty much the reason why we purchased a Viking range. She was knowledgeable and kind of blew it away. We spent 30 minutes talking to her about the range and it was really nice. Viking stands behind their product and theyve built a high-quality range. Weve had it for about a month now and our family cooks breakfast every day and dinner six nights a week.

We like the price and quality of Viking. Their salesperson was great, too. However, we had some issues with delivery where some of the product was damaged. The microwave was damaged twice, but they replaced it. And the quality of the Viking range is great. We bought an extended warranty which we havent used yet. The one knob on the range currently sticks. But we havent called to have it checked out yet. But the range works well. I also like the shelf inside the range that slides out and in, and that the stove heats up so good that I can save dollars for the heat. We were so used to Kenmore products where I had to keep everything wide open to cook. Viking range is super. I couldnt ask for anything better. We also bought one of their first refrigerators. But the refrigerator we bought hadn’t been manufactured yet, so we had to wait about a month before we got our refrigerator.

I wish the Viking refrigerator had an icemaker on the door instead of a separate pullout drawer. But other than that, its good. All of the kitchen appliances are Viking and I had to have someone come out for my oven. I had to talk to them about that and the technician who came was nice. He had to order some parts and once they came in, he came back. I like that he assumed that he needed to wear a mask, which was nice, and he had a mask on. Outside of my oven going out one time, all of the Viking appliances have been good.

We purchased a Viking double oven 10 years ago and it has never worked properly... Will burn backside of pizza, pie, any dish that isnt rotated by hand, so much for the convection. The cost to repair is quite expensive, especially if you do not live in a metropolitan area, due to lack of Viking qualified repairmen.

This refrigerator is a disaster! The ice maker has broken repeatedly since Ive owned it. Repair calls and bills for that and it still doesnt work. The plastic handles on the bins are all broken. When you pull on them to open the drawers, they break. And the worse thing? It leaks. I have thousands of dollars of damage to my bamboo floor. After having this repaired, I see that the pan under the refrigerator fills up with water every few days. This is a refrigerator, not a high tech device. The engineering should be mundane. Ive had other refrigerators from GE that are far less expensive that never needed servicing. Nothing with this refrig works and I dont understand how this company could release it for sale, not have a recall, not replace them, not offer money back. The product is totally defective.I see that many others on this site have experienced the same problem. I am considering instituting a class action lawsuit. If you are interested, please let me know. It is unethical, bad business and fraudulent for the company to sell defective products and then not stand behind them.

I like the idea that Viking is made in the US. I also like the idea of the prestige of the brand. I fix and flip houses so whenever I have it in the budget, Id like to go Viking because it helps with the resale. Their customer service is very accommodating. There is a bit of a challenge of me being on the West Coast and them mostly in the South and the Eastern Time Zone. But I have no complaints. I like the styling of what they do. I like the industrial look of them and how the range fits into a home. Sometimes, the Viking ovens can run hotter than they should. So I had a crispy turkey for Thanksgiving. But that was kind of my fault.

We purchased a gas stove and a microwave convection oven for above it a year ago. We had a disturbing trend with the microwave. Once in a blue moon, it makes noises like it wants to blow up. When we hit the microwave, it makes these sparking noises like theres an electrical circuit shortage and then it stops, then it keeps working. But for a second and a half, it gives us a heart attack. We had a service guy come out who is a certified Viking repair guy for Western Monmouth County in New Jersey. He told us in essence that sometimes particles of dirt get into the grates on the inside and they pop away when we first turn the thing on. Ive never heard of that before in my life and it makes my wife afraid to use it. We had it happen when it was empty, when it had a potato in it and with a paper plate with something on it. He said its normal, which if it is, then theres a design problem since weve had microwaves for 40 years and never ever had that happen. But other than that, we love the stove, especially in terms of its BTU, its ability to heat up quickly and cool down quickly. Its been just fine that way, so were very happy with that.

I have a 120 year old Queen Anne with a beautiful Chefs Kitchen filled with all Viking Appliances. I have 500 to 600 people visit and touring this historic Victorian house on an annual basis. The 36 Viking Refrigerator stopped cooling both the refrigeration and freezer sections. I contacted the local high-end appliance center, and was told by them, that they no longer work with Viking because of their very poor service of there appliances, especially their refrigerators. I spoke with all other neighbors in our mansion district and was told the same thing. So, this was shocking because I own a complete set of Viking appliances in my beautiful kitchen.Nevertheless, I decided to find out myself, what experience of service I would get by contacting Viking. Well... the person on their (1866) toll free number, kind of summed it up as exactly like I was warned. The unhelpful person referred me to the closest authorized service company 75 minutes away, which after calling twice and not hearing back, lead me to believe I was dealing with a truly amateur company. I am highly thinking of changing-out ALL the Viking appliances to a more professional manufactures.

Viking Ranges was one of the higher-end ranges in the store where we bought it. Having the same size burners on all four on top was attractive to us and the ability to clean up the top compared to some of the other ones. It didnt take long to install the range but we had problems with it for almost two months. The stove wouldnt light on the first try and it took several tries for it to light. We had a technician in. He had to come back four times before he was finally able to figure out what was wrong with it. It was easy enough to get the reps. They come and do it, and think they had it fixed. Wed call them back and then, it would take them a week to come back but they were good to deal with. Were generally happy. The broiler is amazing in it.

When we first took delivery of our Viking stove (double oven, 4 burners and grill) the larger of the two ovens didnt work and the computer motherboard had to be replaced. The company servicing it was great so the impact was minimal. Within the first few months, the black finish on the grease trough, although never used, started to peel, exposing the shiny metal underneath. Since it is so visible on top of the stove, I reached out to Brigade (the new name for Viking in Canada) for a replacement part, under warranty. After much waiting on hold, and back and forth emails, they agreed to send the replacement part.I waited five months only to find out that the order was never placed and a new company has taken over their parts distribution. They have informed me that since my warranty has now expired, they will SELL me the part at a discount. How nice! This stove, which looks beautiful, was meant to be a once in a lifetime purchase. Not only is it showing early signs that it wont stand up to normal use, the lack of customer service is disheartening! I wish I loved my stove but I dont and would not recommend a Viking/Brigade due to the poor customer service.

I wanted to get a really good refrigerator that would last a long time. I know Vikings top of the line products and so weve purchased refrigerators from them. Our first one had a water dispenser on the inside of the door. When we tried using the dispenser it wouldnt work as the water line kept freezing up. We ended up getting another refrigerator but a different model without a water dispenser, which is what we really wanted. The second one worked fine and then it stopped making ice. A service guy came out five times, replaced the ice maker twice, replaced the track twice and he said the water line was fine but he couldnt understand why its not making ice. So hopefully, this third refrigerators a charm. I hope it stays working and it seems to be fine. It makes some weird noises sometimes. It probably has something to do with the water line and the connection for the ice maker. But other than that, its producing ice. So far, so good.

Viking had a floor model refrigerator that was at a good price. However, when I open the drawer where the ice bucket is in the freezer, 90% of the time, it kicks ice cubes underneath the basket of the freezer. I have to get down on my hands and knees and dig to get the ice cubes out. I cant close the freezer drawer until I get the ice cubes out. Also, that time, they were including an above-range convection microwave free with purchasing a range. However, the Viking dealer was a little slow to respond to things. She was very nice and pleasant but it could take her days to get back to me. So far, the range seems to be of good quality and the induction cooktop has been my favorite. But then, theres a defect in the left front corner of the stainless which was noted on the day of installation. Theres also a problem with the mechanism that I use to open the microwave. Its not level. Viking promptly got people out to look at the issues. Theyve ordered the parts but its been well over a month and none of my issues have been fixed. Furthermore, the front piece of the range needs to be replaced and its still on back order. Nevertheless, Vikings products are well made. I looked at some GE Cafe French drawer type refrigerators and the pullout drawers were very teeny. It felt very unsecure when I pulled it out. On the other hand, Vikings appliances seem like good heavy quality products.

The Viking Range was installed in our home and it’s been very high-quality. My favorite feature is the even heating, baking, and the temperature control. We did have to have someone come and service it though. The issue was that one of the sensors for starting the oven was incorrectly tuned so it wouldn’t catch to start. We contacted a certified service provider that was in our area that we found using their tool on the website. The technician came and fixed that fairly easily. After only two years, the black printed numbers and letters for the control setting wiped off. Never used any harsh chemicals. We only used window cleaner to clean it. No we have a very expensive oven that really cant be used because you dont know the temperature it is set on. I called Viking and they would only sell me another panel that would do the same thing. IMO this is not something that should happen within the lifetime of the unit!! If I were the manufacturer of a high end product like this, and this happen I would offer to make it right!! This could be a simple and inexpensive fix, but the refuse. I would rather have a oven from a old mobile home than this!! I dont even think Viking will even contact me about this to make it right. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. I was doing a lot of online searching for various appliances, ranges in general. The one that I had was on its way out and I was looking for something different. Viking came up a few times and thats how I found out about them. Here in Canada, theyre not called Viking. Theyre called Brigade which confused me at first. They have a high quality range but at that one point, the price was a little higher than I could afford. However, it came at a price that I could justify and it was a good price. Its a solid machine and I dont go in for any of the bells and whistles, so to speak. I want something thats going to cook.I knew what I wanted more or less when I went in their store and had a couple of questions. Also, I would have liked to have been able to actually see the range before I purchased it but the only thing they had for a floor model was the gas style. Unfortunately, I dont have that option where I live so the sales rep showed me the gas range. Im very happy with the product. I love it and so far, the features that I use have been very good. The elements are quick to heat up and the oven cycles well. I really like the 12-inch element in the center of the stovetop because I have a lot of larger pans. One in particular is a paella pan and its not something you can do off to the side. So its got a good size and because of that, its the first time that I actually made a paella in about 14 years. I have been using Viking products for a couple years now. However, one of the things that I’m having a problem with, and this is the second kitchen we put in, is it seems like every time I buy Viking, it comes in broken. Last 2012, we did the kitchen and the refrigerator came in and they had no compressor. I told them to take it back, but they wouldn’t take it back. So, I bought a rebuilt. They can fix it, but I tested that and then I was like okay. I supposed it was just bad luck. And then this time, I used it and the refrigerator came in broken again. So, I have a broken refrigerator there with the door that is not working. Then, they got to come back and then the dishwasher got a bulk. As soon as the guy came out, I’m like, “What is wrong with you guys? Every time I get something from you guys, is it just my bad luck or what?” Out of four appliances, two of them broke. That is ridiculous. I also said that we do our kitchen every four years and I’m doing a kitchen down in Florida. That was to start this month and I’m behind and I told him I can’t be bringing in stuff that I know I got a way to get it fixed and I’m not there. I said I can’t do this. The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great
The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great. However, the functioning of the doors is not good which might have been due to the installation. The center tab of the door doesn’t match correctly. It slams into the other door. The clearance there is just off sixteenths of an inch. Any weight that you put on the door would make that clearance such that that tab will pop out again then you end up closing the door and slamming the other door so you can close it. I called different people who are Viking certified to look at it three times but they couldnt fix it. I dont know if this door issue is a manufacturing issue or an installation issue. I have another cheap refrigerator for 600 bucks and that works a lot better when it comes to doors and functionality.

I built a new kitchen in 2012. We splurged on a Viking fridge and have had trouble from day 1. The freezer broke every year, the defrost function in the freezer didnt work correctly, so the freezer would turn off and melted water would flow out. We finally had to get an upgraded compressor because the one in the fridge wasnt big enough. Big money. This year, the cooling fan stopped working in fridge. This was 3 weeks ago. My appliance repair contractors spent a week trying to contact service. Finally they sent a part, 3 days later… So now I face the 4th of July summer holiday, no fridge. I feel like I should order multiples of the 4 fan I need, fully expecting this will happen again. Viking, good name, bad product.

The Viking fridge is great. We like the size of it and it seems to keep everything consistently cool. Weve only had it for about a year and weve had to replace a few of the lights on it. We did a service maintenance call because the light had gone out and that was great. But weve had another issue with our stovetop on the range. One of the burners isnt working and weve had trouble getting that fixed because theres apparently somebody else registered for the same unit.

We purchased a Viking Range from an online retailer but then our experience was rocky in the beginning. They gave us 24 hours to inspect it but then the stove showed up during a Christmas vacation time wherein family members are at the house. A lot was going on so we got a quick look over but not as in depth as it should have been. So, once the holidays were over and we got ready to install it, we found that it had significant damage both internally and cosmetically. Though it took a while to go back and get it remedied, once we got to the agreement that I could replace it, it was fine. The issue was because I exceeded their 24-hour period to inspect and their sales rep said that you guys would not repair any cosmetic damage. Still, they gave us options and one of which was to replace the stove with a new one. That was the one I took.

For 11 LONG years I have struggled with my Viking Refrigerator/bottom drawer freezer. I have had numerous service calls. The freezer/refrigerator drains as it is supposed to but I have ice build up in the freezer. I have been defrosting it every two weeks with a hair dryer for many years. Viking has not been supportive at all and neither has Ferguson from where I purchased it. If a company sells a product, you would think you would have backup, especially since the appliances are so expensive. I have had problems with my Viking stove - wont lock. Problems with my under counter ice maker, problems with my wine cooler and problems with my stove. I keep living with them because they were so expensive and they look good - they just dont work well! Ive learned my lesson. I will never deal with Viking or Ferguson again.

At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too
At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too far back and the cord broke when it got pinched between the gas line and the stove. When I was ready to clean it, the main big oven never shut off. Its like it never got to the heating temperature and it just heated well exceedingly. So it burns up the igniter and some other part because the oven got too hot. I couldnt even touch the stainless steel on top of the stove. Id washed the whole thing like I was supposed to and then Im supposed to run the oven at 450 degrees for an hour to an hour and a half to burn everything out. And I found out that it got so hot and it would work until it melted everything. The Monarch people came and replaced the cord but it still didnt work. So the Viking rep came out, replaced the cord with a Viking approved one and replaced some other parts but it still didnt work. Two weeks ago, he came back out again, replaced some more parts and then ignited it. It didnt work, it didnt shut the heat down and then he started looking at the wiring and he found that the wire that was connected to the knobs was connected to the wire to the griddle and vice versa. So when we turn the oven on, it thought it was heating the griddle but was never getting heated so thats why the oven never shut off. He fixed those two wires that were crossed and then the oven started working again. But that night, we were starting the oven and then the igniter kept shutting itself off. It would try and ignite after five times and then it just quit. So, were still trying to get it fixed and he scheduled to come back again to look at that. This has been going on since the Viking range was delivered to our house. I am nearing two months that weve had the stove and its still not working properly. It seems that even have they not pinched the cord, because of the wiring issues which we didnt know about, the oven would have still done the same thing. It just happened to be something that happened that we thought might have caused the problem while in retrospect, it didnt. When we bought it, it was a floor model and we knew that. However, we did not know at the time, we didnt ask and they didnt disclose, that it was seven years old so, there was no warranty on it. Ive got all the emails from them that states everything theyre saying they asked their Viking reps and Viking is not really standing behind the product because it was a seven-year-old floor model. That would make a big difference in our decision to purchasing. When we bought this stove, we were offered at the time an extended warranty for five years for $400. We thought that its a Viking stove and were paying $8,000 for it. It should have the factory warranty so we chose not to buy the additional warranty. But then, when we started having problems with it right away from day one, I wanted to buy the additional warranty. I asked if it is too late to do it because we were not told that this Viking stove is seven years old and we wanted to protect ourselves. And I found out that they should never have offered us the extended warranty because the stove was over five years old, that it was their mistake to offer us that warranty and that we cannot get any Viking warranty because of the age of the stove. It sounds ridiculous to me because its still a brand new stove. But they have been paying for all the repairs because I went online and I registered the Viking product. They gave me a 90-day warranty for doing that. Im trying to get everything done within this 90 day because after that and if we have issues, I dont know what were gonna do. Im sure that the repair person is in contact with Viking because thats how hes getting paid. So now, my husband and I feel that when it was put together, the manufacturer miss-wired it.Also, I strongly feel that especially because there was manufacturer problem in the range and because it sat for seven years, it would have been a problem they would have had with ranges sold seven years ago. So, personally, I feel like we should have more warranty because I dont know that were gonna have everything that could happen, happen in 90 days. But I told them that Im not paying a dime to repair the stove and if it cant get fixed, then they can take it back and I want my money back.My experience has not been great. I feel like Viking is dropping the ball with standing behind their product as the manufacturer. But I dont know if they know that the wiring issues were their fault. Whoever put the stove together made a mistake. Between the stove and the hood, weve spent $10,000 so were not talking about a $1,500 stove. Ive been very patient, I sent numerous emails and Id let Monarch know what happened and where we stand. Im not happy and I feel like we need to have a warranty. But their stand is they cant offer us any warranty that Viking wont back. All in all, if we can ever get it working properly, we can use the small oven but not the big one. Its my husband and me right now so it hasnt been an issue but if we have a dinner party, it would be. Also, I am a little concerned that Im only getting a 90-day warranty, Im two months into this, I still dont have a working stove and whats gonna happen at the end of the next 30 days because it was faulty wiring which caused all the damage to my stove. The repair guy is out at South Lake Tahoe and I live in Sparks, Nevada so its an hour and 20-minute drive for him. He only goes to the Reno-Sparks area on Thursdays. So hell come out on Thursday and then if there are issues after he leaves, then hes not coming back till the following Thursday. I thought he was gonna come last Thursday and he didnt put me on the schedule. So I have to wait until this Thursday and its eating up my time.I have gotten nowhere because Im always the third party person dealing with Viking. The repair person talked to Viking, Monarch talked to their Viking reps and I havent had anybody from Viking contact me to talk to me about my issues. I told Monarch that if this cant be resolved, Im returning it and I want a full refund. If I have issues, then I will contact the appropriate department. They need to make this right. Im trying to be very reasonable and Im starting to get to the point where Im not gonna be. I am one of those people that try and work with everybody. Things happen and it doesnt do any good to get all upset. Its not the sales persons fault. But Im starting to get to the point where frustration is starting to set in. But we love the range and the parts that are working. We love everything weve used on the stove, the small oven and the broiler.

Electronic control in door failed within the first year - replaced under guarantee. After 2 years water leaked because of a torn rubber door seal. At 3 and 1/2 years, while replacing another rubber door seal, discovered that the metal internal bar to which the bottom of the door attached had rusted and sealing screws no longer attached. Am completely disgusted with this supposed premium and professional dishwasher (actually, according to its back, made by Electrolux as is the Viking Pro refrigerator) - no one at Viking will discuss this, and at least one customer service person told me I was out of guarantee and out of luck. Will NEVER purchase a Viking appliance again! We bought a complete Viking package including fridge, microwave, dishwasher and, the bane of my existence, a 30 gas range. The range would get to 400 degrees OUTSIDE the over making a burning hazard for anyone who touched the medal on the top of the range. This bad design caused the electronic ignition to fry. We had repair service done on it 3 times at a cost of roughly 2500.00. The ignition is out again and the quote we have had to repair it is $2000.00. That came with a 3 month guarantee. Since the other times we needed repairs there was only once that it was within the 3 month (we still had to pay for the service call to install the part) we decided against having it repaired. We will be buying a Whirlpool to replace it. I made numerous calls to Viking direct and was never able to get anything resolved.

Viking is a good product and it looks beautiful but the functionality is a big problem. I bought a high-end oven, thinking that it would be more efficient and Id be able to get better use out of it. Instead, Im having a problem with this brand-new and expensive oven thats over $5,000 after having it for less than two months. Ive bought a lot of different appliances in my time and Ive never run into a problem with an appliance immediately. I asked my husband to preheat the oven and he had to shut it off because it wasnt turning on and there was a gas smell in the house. Also, the microwave is a little weird. For the price of the range that we bought, it’s a pretty high-end range, and the burners are all stained up with the heat. It doesn’t very look appealing. They sent me to the customer service but they couldnt understand what I was asking them to do. We liked the functionality of the Viking Ranges, the induction on one side, gas and griddle. When I was getting my range, it was quick because it was on the floor and they wanted to get it out as soon as possible. So through TA Appliances, I got it within a week or so. Then I had an appliance guy who came in, installed a power cord, and put it in for me. We use our stove quite a bit and in terms of functionality, it’s very good. But I ran into one problem that is currently being looked into. The ignition of my backburner is not coming on and not lighting that well. I called the TA Appliance guy who I got the range from and he set things up so that I was called by whoever the service team is here close to me. They were okay but some better communication as to what the problem was in the process would have been appreciated. I had to call a few times to really understand what the holdup was on getting parts. They said that they couldnt get parts over right away, but that wasnt communicated well.Other than that, my Viking range is fantastic. There are two ovens and theres a small oven on the right side. It would have been nice to get a second rack in there since we often have multiple things in there because of the conduction. There are three positions you can put the racks in but I couldnt find one. Theres none on the website or anywhere you can buy one. Itd be nice to grab some of those kind of accessories. But I managed to get a bamboo cutting board cover for the griddle and that worked out nicely.

The only comment I have is I have a couple issues with my refrigerator. They came out and fixed it. But with the range itself, the one time I needed a service, it was supposed to have a five-year warranty on the burners, the one part was not covered under the warranty. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. If you have invested in a Viking Oven or Range - you know that it is just that - an INVESTMENT. Or at least it is supposed to be. A $7,000 oven should not have any issues, not at 1 year or even at 5 years, frankly, with nothing but normal domestic use. I understand that the warranty is expired - and we didnt expect a completely free solution. Admittedly, I am severely disappointed that a name like this doesnt stand behind the product for ten years! Our expectation was that the company could at least have a certified service technician it recommends - at a reasonable Viking supported rate. Not referring us to a technician that costs $200 JUST to come out and look at the oven - not even DO anything!? They are viking certified and cant tell over the phone if there is any common problems - of course - it will be $200 to come out for what will probably take 10 minutes. Then there will be the time to order a part and then come back out at $50 per 30 minutes for labor. The reason we spend more up front on quality is to not have these issues. Its a shame that as I look online I see this Name is now riding on a reputation they no longer uphold. I see countless complaints about quality - and Viking is no different than ikea as far as standing by a product. Shameful.

I’ve owned Marvel, and I’ve owned Viking, and another one. Theyre all good but this Viking is a more modern one than what I’ve had in the past. The quality is so far, so good.

Viking has a good reputation, but weve never used a Viking refrigerator, so we didnt know what to expect. The refrigerator has been better than what we thought, and it was well priced. We went by the brand name, and so far, we havent been disappointed. Weve had our Viking since November 20th of 2018. We purchased the product from a Bellevue Albert Lee office, and they were great to work with. They were very responsive and helped us make the right selections on our appliances in general and the Viking refrigerator in particular. Weve been very pleased with the Viking refrigerator. It meets our needs. I like that it has a really good size freezer and ample compartments. The way the compartments work and the way were able to access and store food products has worked out well for us.

Being a Chef, I am very particular on whats in my home kitchen, seeing that my wife and I like to entertain (as my time permits). This oven has exceeded my expectations. Not on just looks, but performance. It heats very quickly, cooks/bakes very well, and the temperature probe is accurate. Its a real eye-catcher when someone walks into my kitchen.

In Dec. 2013, I began to have an issue with my Viking Dishwasher, purchased the previous March. It made a honking noise when changing cycles. I called Viking, got the name of their local authorized service company, and had that company come out. That was visit one. Need a part. Part ordered and service rep returns (Visit two). Dishwasher apparently repaired, but malfunctions the next time I used it - this time the audible warning beep wont stop. Call the repairman, who comes back and, you guessed it, needs to order a part (Visit three). When he returns and installs the part, the beep still wont stop, so apparently it is the wrong part (This completes visit four). Today he came for the fifth time and, you guessed it, apparently the part he replaced in one of the earlier visits is broken.Compounded the fact that I have been without a dishwasher for seven weeks is the terrible response I get when I try to contact Viking. The only time I was able to reach the company easily was in December. Since then, I am rerouted, given the wrong person, put on hold, etc. More important, apparently Viking has moved the consumer service warranty department to various locations, none of which have access to Vikings warranty records for its existing customers. I have given my serial number to three different Viking company reps over the course of my phone calls to the company, but apparently Viking either doesnt have a system that records this information or its system is not available to the reps assigned to handle customer warranty calls. Now this may make sense to someone, but that someone is not me. I do hope that my Viking fridge, range, and microwave, all purchased at the same time as the dishwasher, never malfunction. I certainly would not have bought any of these products if I had know how terrible the warranty customer interaction is.

I chose a simple Viking fridge because if its too complex, theres a bigger chance that it will break. Ive had the fridge for half a year and Im satisfied. I was wondering if someone can send a new shelf to me to replace it.

My Viking Refrigerator is nice cause it goes back in the cabinet. But my wife doesnt like it because they are not very built very well. The shelves got broken during shipping which costs $200 a piece. And for as much as we spent on it, it doesn’t have an ice maker or a water dispenser. So I bought a Viking ice maker. We also bought a 48-inch stove, a 36-inch stove that’s going on the basement and we have the Viking dishwasher for a house that we just started building.

We went to Coffmans and we were looking for a new stove. We chose between Wolf and Viking and we settled on Viking because they were top of the line and their unit came with a dishwasher. Its a very high-quality range and its working very well. We like its induction-type heating, the convection cooking for the oven, as well as its low-profile appearance. The dealer was very nice and cooperative. We werent told about the free dishwasher and he helped us get that. However, my wife is complaining about it not having a timer. For $7000, its a feature thats really needed. Its also a little noisy.

Unbelievable, but after 3 months and some limited use, our outdoor grill burned through the light wires and short circuiting the house. After finding the tripped fuse switch, we tried it again with the lights off. It worked once and then the burner fell off as it had melted. Viking says that this $6,000 plus range actually wont let us close the canopy and heat it up. They said to just put the food on and it will eventually get done (have they ever tried a turkey or even a chicken breast). They say that people call in all the time with burned wires and knobs falling off, and that you really arent supposed to warm it up (contrary to what the manual says). In fact, the canopy thermometer must be a decoration as its never going to go up at all! Id like to return this sucker, and I do accuse this company of fraud!

We bought a home a year ago. It’s not a brand new home and we needed to update its kitchen. We liked to cook, so we were looking for some of the well-known brands. I have a younger sister thats a chef, so she told us about the usual Viking, Wolf, Sub-zero, Cove kinda thing and we began to research those brands as we were preparing to replace the appliances in our kitchen. The Viking refrigerator seems like a nice durable unit. I have noticed the difference from a GE or a KitchenAid in here before. It seems to preserve the food longer as they claim with the freshness system, preventing spoilage. So, that was quite noticeable. It does seem like the fans run a lot although one of the installers explained to me that there are several fans in there to balance temperature and things like that, but Im never sure which ones going so Im never sure if this thing is running all the time or just frequently. We had to put a side by side built-in in because of the way the kitchens designed and there really wasn’t, at least at the time, an option to have the water and ice dispenser together. It does have the ice dispenser, but there really wasn’t any option for the filtered water which would have been nice. And even though it does make the ice, there is no water filter in the fridge itself which isnt really a concern. We have good water in the community, but for constructive feedback, itd be nice to have that option even if youre just making ice.The representatives were very helpful. I worked with Grand Appliance for the refrigerator. And they had a unit that was ordered for a job and then the customer changed their mind and went with a French-door unit, so they gave me a nice deal on this one since it was still brand new and just misordered. But they did a nice job with that in getting it here and installing it. So, that part went well. I did have one follow up because right after it was installed, one of the little pins that keep the door from swinging had broke off and I called Viking and since it has only been a few days, they sent someone right out to replace that little pin. I would recommend Viking Refrigerator. Its a high quality product.

I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

I hear about Viking Refrigerators everywhere. I hear about it online, I talked to people that bought my appliances. I go to the store and they show me the good one. I liked Viking for the size and the quality of the way the freezer was put together. It doesn’t have all those get your cherry coffee or pressurized in 12 different ways because those were the things that always break down and we don’t care about. Also, Viking has a good reputation. However, the stainless steel is impossible to clean decently and keep streak-free. It’s horrible. You can’t buy a good refrigerator with stainless steel anymore. It kinda breaks my heart. Also, the fridge gets too cold for gentle stuff that you put towards the back where the cold air comes out and that’s always been an issue. I thought it wouldn’t be with my fridge, but it is so I just raise the temperature. When the fridge was installed, I had Viking come out because it was making too much of the little gurgling noise that it has a reputation for making and I felt it seemed excessive. An authorized service representative came out, played with it for about an hour, pulled it out, plugged and unplugged it, couldn’t find anything wrong, then left. I then noticed after he left that the small panel at the bottom of the freezer was not reattached correctly and I was unable to do it myself because I was afraid I was gonna break it.I called the service people back and then they gave me a hard time saying that, “Well, the same guy that came out has to come out again. He can’t come out until after New Year,” etc etc. And I said, “But he didn’t do anything. I just need someone to look at this and reattach it.” He didn’t make any changes or any adjustments or anything that needed to be reevaluated or rechecked. He just plugged and unplugged it and said, “I don’t hear any gurgling noise,” and left. I didn’t like that. So I called Viking and said, “This is unacceptable. I don’t see any reason why someone can’t get out here quicker because nothing really was done.” Viking called the authorized service dealer who immediately called me back and sent someone out that same day which I very much appreciated. That was just excellent of Viking to do that.A second guy came out and it turned out that the freezer panel door was warped, and the thing at the bottom that didn’t attach correctly when the first guy came out., was damaged. All of that has been reordered and I was supposed to hear from them a week or so ago about coming out to replace those items and I haven’t. I’m still waiting to hear back from them, but their services were good and they stand behind the product.

Vikings customer service was outstanding. The guy that remodeled my house was pretty cuckoo, in no real detail or into especially for that kind of stuff. There were six appliances here that are all Viking and the reps worked with me very nicely about getting all the model numbers and the serial numbers. We got them all registered. There was never any question that it was a maintenance issue or a warranty issue. We bought a Viking range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. We redid our entire kitchen, and we bought all-Viking appliances based on reputation. The stove has been great. The induction cooktop is fabulous but Im not real convinced about convection oven yet. I don’t see the advantage of that being faster than normal cooking. But that could be that it’s relatively new to us, and we don’t know exactly how to use it yet. But I think we’re gonna be very happy with it. We actually have an electric stove because we don’t have gas in our area. But to see that you can boil water so quickly, the cooking has been incredible on the oven-top. The customer service has been good as well. We waited a long time for a range. The people that we bought the appliances from didn’t know why it was in such a delay. So I just called Viking myself and the woman I spoke to was incredibly nice and told me that the issue was they were waiting for parts from Germany. We waited like a month for it. But that was nobody’s fault. It’s just the way it was. The people that we bought it from, which was at Pacific Sales in Best Buy, have been pretty good. But the guy who installed our refrigerator worried me a little bit because he never heard of Viking. He never had installed Viking and he didn’t do it right. But the people that came out the second time were in and out of my house within 5 minutes because it was a very, very simple fix. The guy who did my dishwasher, oven, and microwave went to Viking training school, so he was very knowledgeable.

My first issue was that EVERY drawer cracked and they refused to replace them when it was clear that the initial cracks happened at installation. They use 3rd parties who dont care about anything, except to bill Viking. They allege to have fixed their issues and service with the ownership, but that BS as the product is not impressive and the service is a zero. Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

Weve seen Viking Ranges installed in other peoples homes. Prior to purchasing from them, I did a little bit of shopping at Thermador, but my wife had her heart set on the Viking Range. I purchased it through Appliances Connection online, which was very simple. I talked to them and they shipped it to me well-informed of all the delivery dates. It was a pleasant experience dealing with them and arranging for shipment and delivery. We got the whole package with the range and the vent hood and an external ventilator. However, Im seeing some issues with it and Im not really pleased with some things on it. The stoves leveled but the griddle isnt. Its made crooked and the oil runs off one side and immediately dump it into the catch pan. Then we had a Viking service man come out because the main door wont stay closed. When bumped, it pops open and turns the light on and shuts the oven off.My wife said that the oven works well. She loves all the features of the convection and its temperature control. Shes also very happy with the burners, though it has a large diameter. Maybe I should’ve got the Series 7 instead of the Series 5 because of the size of the burners. All in all, its not quite perfect for me, but my wife loves it and she thinks its perfect.

I’m a foodie who cooks and I’ve been wanting a Viking range for more than 20 years. There are foodies who eat and wanna go to fancy places, but I’m the cooking kind. The quality of my Viking products is outstanding and insanely amazing. I like the quality of the Viking range and the infrared broilers of the oven. So far, my absolute favorite is my TurboChef oven. It cooks 15 times as fast as usual and that’s really good for a working person. The interactions that I had with Plessers, the Viking dealer that I bought the products from, was not as good though. One of the reasons that I went to that store was because Appliance World, the place that I would have gone to which was near to my home, only had a Viking two-year warranty. I wanted an extended warranty for at least 10 years, but they didn’t offer that. Appliance World is a topnotch store and I went there several times asking my questions, although I knew I wasn’t gonna buy the Viking products there because they didn’t offer the extended warranty. I bought the Viking products at Plessers because they threw in the extended warranty. I knew that if we got something, they would be very generous with the extended warranty. If they didn’t absorb it, they would do something kinder. But they didnt know the product that well, so I had to make myself very aware.I had read a lot about Vikings products and I also called Viking to ask my questions. I bought a 40-inch range, double ovens with the TurboChef, and a refrigerator. I also got two free microwaves even though I only needed one. But we have not always had great luck with those things, so having a spare is not a bad thing. If one of them breaks, I would have a replacement. Viking had a promotion and depending on what I spent, I got something free. I could get a free dishwasher or any of the four models of microwave free as well. With what I was buying, I could get two microwaves. But Plessers was not very aware of the Viking promotion. They were aware that I could get a free dishwasher, but they were not aware that I could get two free microwaves. They kept trying to give me a dishwasher and I didn’t want it because its a European product and doesn’t have heated drying, and that’s not helpful.Another thing was that after we ordered the appliances and paid for them well ahead of when they were placed because they were brand new, we took out three rooms and made a big kitchen. So, there was a lot of construction going on, but the appliances were the easiest thing for me to pick out and the tile and other items were much harder. When the kitchen had been designed, but still on paper, and I was with the kitchen designers and the contractor, I called Plessers up and I told them that if I buy an Advantium speed oven, which is a quarter of the price of a Viking TurboChef, it also acts as microwave. I asked them whether the TurboChef also did that and they said that it definitely does. At the last minute, however, after the kitchen design was done, I gave Viking a quick call and asked them that question again because I was not so comfortable with Plessers. Vikings said that the TurboChef does not function as a microwave, but I can get a free microwave. So, that was a hassle because the kitchen design had to be changed. I told our contractor to figure that out and it was done, but it shouldn’t have gone that way. The Plessers guys should have known what they were doing. I’m sure they took a Viking class, but they didn’t do their homework. On the other hand, when I was worried about some of the stuff that I had read on the TurboChef such as its breaking, a young woman at Appliance World told me that a lot of that was because people were not upgrading their electrical systems, circuit box or electric lines for this appliance which sucked in a lot of power. So, they were shorting it out and that was the main problem. I was impressed that this young lady popped that off on top of our head. She said they had that problem in the beginning too, until they realized that they couldn’t use the same electrical system for this appliance as everybody else did for other appliances. Appliance World is a huge and gorgeous store. I roamed around there for a good hour and the staff was really nice. They have kitchens set up all over the place and they can demonstrate things for the customer.Viking itself and Appliance World were great. The staff at Plessers was really nice too and they could not have been nicer. Also, the appliances that we got from them were so great. But we had a disappointing buying experience with them. They need an education course on the Viking appliances because if they’re gonna sell things that are this high-end and expensive, they need to know what they’re talking about, but they didn’t. Nevertheless, I would tell people to buy Viking if they can.

When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.
